Vivek Ramaswamy on the Hypocrisy of 'Woke' Corporate America
"Very important book out woke inc inside corporate america's social justice. Scam vivek rama. Swamy is the author of his national best. He's a very successful entrepreneur. And he understands what's going on so my first question was other than cowardice. How would you explain it. I find his explanation in addition to cowardice. Effective it's a smokescreen for all the bad stuff that they do. So i'd like to develop that Theme vivek and will begin a with the example of nike. Which if it didn't begin. The current wave of anti-american hatred from the corporate america. It certainly was one of the big starters of it. What animates nike. Look i think it is a in large part the same theme with one additional nuance that i wanted to get to. The same theme is that they're using woke smoke to cover up their act business taxes. Because i'll tell you then it is a lot. Easier to verbally criticizes slavery two hundred fifty years ago than it is to reduce your reliance on slavery today and i will tell you they source their shoes from slave labor in asia to sell to fifty dollar sneakers to black kids in the inner city. Who can't afford to buy books for school. All in the name of serving black communities and don't intend to millions of dollars to black lives matter marxist organization that professes to care about black lives. What called for the decimation of nuclear family structure and i think for nike that allows them to sell more sneakers. Allow them to build a better brand with the community to whom they are selling those shoes while deflecting accountability from actually relying on not flavor two hundred fifty years ago when the united states was born but slavery today into your twenty twenty one in the present without being held to account for it and there's two dimensions on nike where they criticize the united states to no end but they do not take a peep about drew human rights atrocities in china where you have over a million weavers in concentration camps subject to forced sterilization and communist indoctrination and nike ceo. John donahoe goes earlier this summer to china and says we are a brand of china and four china. Those are his words not mine. But i also think that in some ways consumers in the united states got in in order to be what nike consumers demand is for us

"With shreedhar rama. Swamy sri dr rama swamy was. I think it was the chief revenue officer at google for search and for youtube. And the reason why. I was listening to this interviews. Because he's the guy that left google and has started this Search engine called neva. An e. v. a. a diva dot com. And you pay for it. Now you get the first three months free whatever but four ninety five a month and he was the one you like. Yeah yeah and so whenever this guy is popping up i mean i i. I'm not gonna start trusting. People right away i mean i really wanna see how they are the operate how they function but also the search engine like a lot because his not gamed like google. You can actually find a list of the best weed whacker. Which would be your test. Did you do that test with neva. Ever no i did not. I should have should do that so now. Of course he was on The sway podcast from the new york times which was added bonus for me. Because i wanted to hear the guy and was also a hate. Listen at the same time for cherish wisher but it. I can't really hate her on this show The one with scott scott galloway is different but because we just did our donations value value. Model that we pioneered. We did for very specific reasons And i would say the top of our list fourteen almost fourteen years ago. We did want to do advertisements. Is we hate meetings with advertisers. Would you say that's fair. That was one of the main. We both have different reasons. My have my reasons. You have your reasons they just happen to coincide. Did i lose your reason. Is the meeting as you used to say we used to always say i hate given blowjobs here exact quote. Yes well i was trying to clean it up and call it a meeting but okay if it's just because it's a meeting behind the gas station. Yes i don't like that but also you can't. You can't really discuss things that we discuss. And i have asserted since the so called cancel. Culture started which you know as you you've probably heard cancel culture doesn't exist didn't need this And shit right exactly. But this particular piece two to piece of this guy shows that the thesis that cancelling d platforming demonetizing has was has been and always will be for google about the advertisers. Now has this mechanism been leveraged by Political parties and and people who want to get their way. Yes totally and it's very easy to do you. Just get a whole bunch of people together only whole bunch. Maybe ten and you'll start posting on twitter and facebook that this will a show is so. I'll give you an example. Joe rogan the horrible podcast. He's a fascist. He's racist he's transphobic. You gotta get them off the air and if he had advertisements running next to youtube which he did back in the day you to very quickly inclined to remove the advertiser from the equation. That's called d platforming to monetize monte monitor. But here's the interesting thing. It's actually not demonetizing the the youtuber. It's protecting the advertiser and if it gets really too bad then you know all we gotta get you off. And that's where the political this this mechanism with the advertising has been leveraged to the hilt and that's why everyone in this in this quagmire kind of in this in iron and we can't go left. We can't go right to. This guy talks about why he left. Google about the advertising and i think it's very eye opening to hear someone from google. Speak like this about what's really going on so you laughed shortly after the two thousand seventeen controversy. Were you two videos of exploited. Children are running alongside ads. Was there something that happened. Is the timing acc- winstons did that inspire your exit dude. You just go Enough of this. I'm making nuclear weapons. And i don't want to or whenever you know what i mean. There's a lotta people that have those moments with their moment for you. Just just let it go. She st- she. Well she calls loosely leading. Just let it flow over. You just go enough of this. I'm making nuclear weapons. And i don't wanna or whenever i you know what i mean. There's a lot of people that have those moments Was there a moment for you for me. One hundred percent on those were the things that first of all convinced me that. I didn't want to door on ads anymore. Then we did ads on google. Search are even when i was running the display ecosystem. We had very clear that being able to run ads on these platforms was a privilege for example. We had a controversy on substance abuse treatments for google. Search happy wasn't able to tell who good players versus Not so good. Players was just been drew from the area and said we need to figure this obvious not going to show any ads and search was big enough on the health that we could make a decision like this and actually move forward with automatic controversy. On what does foundationally different about. The youtube ecosystem was the role that creators played for the longest time. You took this attitude of should be able to say whatever you felt like on you to. It was an open platform so they gave the illusion like a lot of social media platforms to that contract expression on them was akin to free speech that literally anyone could say anything getting really see a platform responsibility for themselves and so what ended up happening was youtube. Leadership was caught between rock hard position but they had a set of very woculd creators. That genuinely believed that putting content on youtube getting the content monetize was something like a free speech right and i was dumbfounded by this. I was like really like your ability to monetize. Content on a platform is akin to the government in being free speech for you. But that's the world that goal existed in on. this may change very hard the advertisers. That's i want no part of being next content on youtube creators that went. What do you mean we can say whatever we feel like just because you find it. Objectionable should be not be able to say. He became an impossible problem to solve and that was part of the conflict for advertising. Because we are seen as supporting all kinds of actors some of whom are very disreputable and To be the head of the team that was supporting monetization which is not something that i was comfortable with that combined with the fact that i had been there for fifteen years just made me say okay. Time to it's time to start a war. Advertising is censorship. There it is. I find that very enlightening to hear that from him. Yeah well he's still. He's not backed is still not. Yeah he's doing a search engine but he's doing a search engine you pay for. There's no no tracking or no sale of your data. No advertisers just none of that and it's it feels good. I mean i'm not completely one hundred percent convinced yet but it feels pretty good. Results are great. I'm just saying you feel about what. What am i really being tracked. I'm looking at all kinds of stuff. So yeah it's hard to believe but there it is you know they didn't care. Google didn't care what you said until the advertisers cared. And that's the problem. That is the entire problem. It's called brand safe. Oh.

Who had who'd out of vision of Sheva in his youth experienced somebody at the age of twenty in his early twenties which I think was also ambition of clearly he had studied with Sufi teaches in the science of India and attended Sufi and he'd also been trained as a Christian school so some about the former interesting one because he's already kind of was sort of comparative religious. Yeah now he. He developed his own system of Raja. And what is utterly fascinating about it from my point. Not necessarily from Crowley's was that if you read the how he talks about the the journey of the ATMA through the shock crews and backup to the to the crown you see immediately to things long as the entire NAS tick system if the second third century which is the journey of Sofia through the tree. Joel to awaken Jesus in the Tomb and bring back up to the PLEURA. That's try to and of course you see the tree of life the cabbalistic tree where you can see the Steph era as soon as the shock Chris and you can also see old testaments. What's what India is there in Croly? Well I think they obviously what he brought back from. India was not only a cosmic perspective which he gained from his climbing on his traveling and his ability to see so many different coaches working in one society but with the enormous amounts of relatives intolerance between them so he could see that division of humanity is certainly from from observing in there I think India has been is arrests. Th E A western imagination very very profoundly anyway because as a phenomenon is just simply an extraordinary collection of people. How how do they manage to live you?
