"But superman does go and confront the the un council that law that launched the nukes and gives them a fucking stern warning. You don't wanna piss around with superman now this version especially yeah. Yeah but this last shot here or one the lessons that happens in this chapter i really did dig. And i'm not gonna lie Superman almost had me here Superman charge to appeal to like to bruce's like a greater sense of nobility and superman basically says look at everything that we both been through. We both lost so much. And this thing i think has taught us both something here but we need to sit down and figure this shit out man you come meet me. No harm would come to you that we need to talk to figure this out. Just gimme that bruschi schema. That much. And bruce goes i think about it. And so they they have a meeting place lined up and batman doesn't show and one one woman says he knew was a trap and it's like you son of a bitch car tried to set tried to set them up. But of course. Batman is batman fall for that shit right so batman does not show up To that classic yeah but of course the last shot here for this year is the breakout of this clone. Yeah yeah so this clone thing whatever it is because i bet you don't.

"Some. Sm as say he would have just been attack address. Alvin hercules atlas shah zeus achilles. Mercury zampa milkjam a lean down to say some of that so homes if guy had. We're time hearing me. That's why okay anyways are forget but he in the new fifty two and the in the aftermath of the dark side war A a new pantheon of gods Oh yeah and don't ask me. What new policy guy from the new guys. I do not remember. Well that's the thing anyway. Anyway he's worked for it. Yeah so you. During this team. Batman is still on the fucking wayside She zam before it gets his power taken. He is actually going toe to toe with. Hercules man and herkus in trouble. Yeah i mean hurry is like this guy's got my strength but he's also got way more wisdom and he's he's got the part of my guy dad daggummit but it should the point where Hercules submits. he's like all right. You got me but of course zam is ultimately. He is a good guy in years. One through three. We saw how he's had reservations with with cements been doing but he's still allies himself with superman but when superman does come to he's like fuck this guy superman beeline down back to earth power the ever living fuck out of hercules and kills him so is dead. That was the fucking moment you know. Moving are here the the gossiping team to go at it. Because at this point that like shit. He cure hercules. You bastard how we do. Finally get the damian and bruce fight here and i i love this moment because damian is full pissing vinegar. He's been waiting for this moment for so long yet. The only thing he's scared about. Yeah the only thing he cared about and it has to be him who puts his dad down. And all the while. Batman is trying to apologize damian china. Tell them that. I'm sorry. it's not your fault will happen to dick. I don't blame you making good on the What alfred was telling him earlier. Yeah he really struggling to reach out and make amends with the sun bed. Damian's not having any of it. Yeah and then bam mess. Like i'm sorry to hear that. O o of what you thought that. Oh you think they were even. Oh you port au band. Did she forget it again. Go back to school. Did she forgive. And i'm the god damn batman who just to your talk like that with that sneer at jive like you forget on batman. Why oh using that you.

"Now because the heroes still don't wanna say the heroes. The i hate to say this but i don't hate to say this either The only the only way this would become more convoluted and confusing for our poor justice league members on trying to like like know what really does it doesn't exist is if jesus christ awesome appeared in the next panel issues right here. This big point to atlas guys who in this one picture dislike tall above. Jesus like hey shit sacrilegious side put back away moving on now. Listen now. I gotta have met here. We we gotta gotta put jesus in this guy store. Dc just said no way touch that man. We try and get more pc. Okay shit that'd be fun. Great would be great. I'd buy that. This is the word man anyways. Jesus not in this story. Yeah so so now. We get a big male abroad between the justice league and the gods and my justice league i mean team superman of course But what is happening here. Is that the justice league. They're getting their asses. Kit and team. Batman is literally just ending on the wayside watching. They're just kind of watching the his ass kicking. I rec- is yellow lantern. How jordan that is versus hercules. She does not go well for how say no that team. No no not at all. And i think that really goes to show. Just how goddamn powerful. They made the gods here. Because like bingo lantern is no god. Damn joke that i may. You're pretty powerful. You've really got down powerful. And so yeah. Hercules didn't give it but the problem here also is the property. I think that how would have stood a better chance. Had he had the green ring of wheel but now he's ruling yellow ring of fear. What fear is hercules. Half so i looked it up real quick. I'm sorry quick footnote I looked up. Atlas was the god of and he is the titan. God who bore the sky like he kept. The sky lifted hughes the personification of endurance mega for days. Either literally on the why. He's cool with these gods because he was the leader of the titans when they went to war against the gods. So you know all the. Hey anyway this is. Dc.

"The green lantern and the ilan core There's a really big bloody battered. That tastes plays. It is strictly awesome. You want it to are extremely great. you three like you said earlier this year the magic This will be oriented used to play on. Constantine and mr mixes piddle lick are bar brought to the table. And there's a lot of really cool a battle and circumstances that are ensued there and when your three ends are heroes was our heroes team batman um they are essentially in hiding right now and they've lost a lot of people and it is also important to note that at this point in the battle team batmans essentially doesn't have any real superpowers people on their team. Yep and so all of the power players still with team superman. Yes must say. 'cause team superman is of course himself which is a lot power wonder woman which is next to him. Fuck empower the flash. That's arguably more power than superman but not tonight's episode Zam who was also exactly godly. He's he's yes. Yeah cyborg which is fair. yeah he's the internet internet. Yes of course you do have one. Turn code being lex luthor india. And you know. I i gotta be honest guy so i have not read the entirety of injustice yet. But i do worry luthor. Yeah no same here because he is playing a dangerous game tallest tower. I would say you know. I wonder like we know that superman if he had their paternity at this point He would at least capture bruce. Probably kill them to be done with that. Yeah yeah but if you were to find out that in this universe luthor who was his his second best friend besides bruce right was a turncoat. That would i don't like what would that do she gets. Serious betrayals hard dude. No i mean that's a heavy thing to say an ad dude onto the endo but still you know especially being that powerful who is this emotionally unstable because remember guys the entire the drop that started. These ripples that became waves at became typhoons..

Yesterday's dini whose professional physics at amazon is taking versity. One of the primary of usage focus is new leaders. Welcome to see you thank you. Yeah thanks for doing this. So i know that you have done a lot of work on neutrinos. You have a few papers. That came out recently. And i want to talk to a twenty eighteen paper dalogue and my own neutrino signatures of primordial black holes. invite you say. These studied primordial black holes ph is as sources of massive neutrinos by hawking radiation under the hypothesis that black holes emit nuclear no bass item states be described quantitatively called the pbs evolution and lifetime is affected by the mass and flew munich dialect my own nature of neutrinos before we get the details celia I wanted to get some definitions of folks would know what black court saw a few episodes of black holes Here we're talking about. The pride won't imprac codes owes The these black holes are fall close to the big bang And then as caulking radiation Sort of The black hole evaporating So to speak and that That lady Imitating these particles called neutrinos. Right is that. Do i understand that correctly. Yes so so pry bhutia blackhaws before we get the neutrinos what is sort of the mechanism of formation their ho- exactly what they have formed sure We believe that Primordial hose could form in the early universe from density fluctuations so We know that any object could can possibly become a black hole if you compress it into a very very small volume so this same process could happen in the universe with Density fluctuations that could be a regional space where there is an over density compared to the surrounding and each of over the east coast past Then then it could get to the point of becoming a black hole This this The details of this process are beyond my expertise But this is fairly reasonable thing to expect and The diesel really small rate in the scheme of things. Yes so when i started to Learn about time or their black holes. I was amazed by how different in mass can be. They can be may be the massive wouldn't but they can also be The mass of Being or they can be Even even smaller so they can really be very very tiny. Yes oh so. That's really really small so this is sort of quantum fluctuations only universe Kind of getting Getting concentrated in vide- small areas But we believe those. Those primordial black holes emit nucleus. we Have to go back to stephen hawking for that stephen hawking wrote this seminal paper Which is about what we nowadays. Nowadays call hawking radiation so he demonstrated that any black hole regardless of what it is could be primordial black hole or a stellar. Nicole doesn't matter any black hole isn't really black because it meets radiations so radiation particles And the the process that we call evaporation so Because a black holes fundamentally gravity objects they would meet any particle that couples to raggedy including trees so It's the moment you have a black hole you do. Have hawking radiation and neutrinos are just that are expected. Part of hawking radiation. You're so caulking radiation so that that happens to every black hole even the even the supermassive ones right so i it said gentle phenomenon And so going to neutrinos now Don't typically thing neutrino site Caltrans and electrons are really well known. neutrinos are particles. Dad don't interact with The matter Espionage don't interact much with matters. We don't really see them. They don't really see them. And and so it's difficult to measure that's right and so so this could you give a. What does the history of neutrino vendor we. I understand such things existed. Let's see We go back to the twentieth century and the story goes That the father of neutrino sees Warfare he. He made the hypotheses of a new particle existing as a way to explain Some strange behavior of neutrinos produced by by nuclear decay so It's it's a long story but Let me just say that For a long time. Neutrinos who just the hypotheses and then around the mead of this twentieth century They would actually officer so we started to Know that this particles existed and But that was pretty much heat. So we didn't know much about the properties And one of these properties the mass which we still don't know i'm easy after all these decades but we still don't know if neutrinos have something like a magnetic went for example And something that we didn't learn until much later on is the fact. That neutrinos oscillate. That's that that sounds. That's something that we that were somehow established Turn of the sanctuary around the around the year. Two thousand really after after decades of of testing with the solar neutrino selling trainers. So there are still there are still a number of no on your trainers. One of them is the mass one and the other one is the The nature of the neutrinos being the iraq particles or miranda particles we She's kind of a fundamental cost. So there are that. That's that's that's related to the fundamental nature of the neutrino as particle break. So so they do. They have a mass but masses small. Do they have a chunk. Neutrinos don't have charge so they are electrically neutral and that's Comedy the biggest reason for for them to be a so allusive as you were mentioning earlier on especially in the in early. Nineteen hundreds all the particle detectors so basically a electro-magnetic detectors they were looking for charge or Magnetic behavioral some sort. So neutrinos don't have that and so they They only have the weak interaction At that that we know wolf and gravity of course and so that's why they They escape detection so so easily because their interaction is very weak. Yeah so so. That's sort of the beauty of neutrinos right so because they don't interact V can go back digits of years. Simple hats Perhaps become pickup one on earth and it would have travelled that distance through all sorts of things but would not have affected wider rate right. Yes and so so the other phenomenon of neutrino is that you mentioned that they also late so are they're failures of tinos they go back and forth. Yes it's It's actually a fairly Easy to this cried kwan to sonam on We know that In quantum mechanics there is this Particles described by these function which is called the wave function. And so the neutrinos could be on. Neutrino could be born as a say an extra and then it's quanta way function would evolve over time in a way that after sometime. The wave function is no longer a purely electron neutrino way function. But the has a little bit or even law actually of a different flavor. It could be a new one or tau. So what we observe in the actors. Is this change of flavor and perhaps the most striking demonstration of this phenomenon is solemn. Neutrinos because we know that the sun produces an extra treatments and It doesn't produce a new on and talion trainers so But here on earth we do Have evidence that the solar neutrino flags that we receive has some You wanna talion. Trina in it and that can only be explained by sedation and Actually after this other neutrino data showed this phenomenon. This was also confirmed by a saint men made experiments so it's a fairly established phenomenon it and so that the flavors are Electron new on tall. Yes that's right and so. Did you understand the vendor made in the sun for example there they are made as electron Neutrinos and by the time they reached the earth day the Immunes dot. Yes yes Impart young. that's that's what happens so ease. It always the case that they get a manufactured so to speak as as electoral neutrinos always. It depends on where they are born. There are places where neutrino sutter born in or flavors. A so it's it's it really varies with With the type of environment We are talking about okay. Okay and so in the people you say ph is this primordial black holes. We talked about radiates right. Handed and left handed dutra knows in equal amounts so anybody right-handed unless the cleaners. Okay let me see so Yes you say. Indicates of dirac neutrinos. pba Left neutrinos in equal amounts possibly increasing deceptive number noon pheno species nest. Yes is that explainable. Yes so right handed than left handed. Neutrinos that may take why to explain what that exactly means me. Just say that It's related to the neutrino mass. So if you're truly knows didn't have a mass which we know they do but if they didn't have a mouse They would only exist as left handed particles which means that basically their spin is Is anti aligned with the momentum and but if they have mass and the iraq particles There could be another type of neutrino which is right handed. Which where the This being ease aligned with a mentor other than anti line and so If you are iraq these these two different species could exist and so instead of having one species of neutrino emitted left-handed one Indicators of a massless trina if we have not suv nutrients than you would have to species and so. The black hole radiate war energy compared to The case when neutrinos don't amass so when we started working on this paper i was interested in this phenomenon that A lot of the literature having to do with a developer. Evaporation of primordial black couls. Consider the neutrinos as massless about. Now we know that they are massive. And so i thought well Sixty speaking at primordial black hole could radiate more energy than previously thought. So i found that aspect interesting and then sees you mention the possibility to increase the effective number of species. That's related to what it was talking about. So then you the black hole would ra- gate more neutrino States or more neutrino Species to spe pseudo speak and then Would increase the number of neutrinos per cubic centimeter Data we observe today so I'm kind of glossing over a lot of these days. But basically cosmology gives us a measurement of this and effective which is called the effective number two species. And if you have this right. Handed neutrinos coming from the primordial black holes. This number could be higher than than expected. And so that would be may be a i way to tell that maybe there are more black holes in the universe yet. So so the hawking radiation essentially creation coming out of black holes Expected defined Expected that over a long period of time. Black holes radiate away lap. Later ray out the mass or information that didn't do it And so this. Radiation is hockey. Radio station is it is a new park. Or is it. Fundamentally composed of neutrinos hawking radiation is made of every particle that no of so A black hole. A camera gate Pretty much everything. Photons neutrinos throngs You loans It said cetera but There is the catch here. The fact that a black hole has a temperature which is another Big achievement of stephen hawking to end and others To that the black hole is thermo dynamical object and so Basically the bigger the black hole the lower the temperature so if the temperature is really low The black hole wouldn't be able to immed- Very massive particles because they are thermal energy would be sufficient for that so because masses energy Mc squared right so because massey's energy If a black hole has too low of a temperature It wouldn't have its quantum energy It's it's Wouldn't be enough to produce the mass off a particular particle for example a proton may be too heavy to be produced by a really low tanto black home so so the beaker. The black called the lower the temperature. Yes ed so. So then can expect the bigger black holes to have more of a neutrino content in radiation. Yes because The bigger black holes would as i said be able to radiate the heavy particles and so they would only be able to radiate away the low mass particles and so there could be black holes that only emit photons gravitons and Neutrinos do a of sort of the distribution of this primordial black holes Isn't you know sort of everywhere. What is what do we know about you. Know some of the distribution of bbc's you mean spatial distribution like where they are now. I'm wondering just like the easy would do sort of look at the early universe will find them everywhere Probably at the beginning they would be a more or less uniformly distributed Bug in the universe. Today they would probably be Behaving like the dark matter. Does they would Be part of galactic halos In other words they would be they would class gravitationally on large structures like a like a galaxy placido galaxy so these call still around They would they would behave like like the dark matter down. So they would be in in halo. Galaxies would have by. Now have april would would they not have disappear because it far it depends on the mass That they have when they are born so their if their mass is less than a certain value that trying to remember Basically yes they would have to By now they would have completely evaporate did their masters larger than they will take longer to evaporate and they could still be around So they roughly speaking the dividing line between a black hole. Steve being around today or not. I think it's something like ten to fifteen grams fiery recall correctly into fifteen clams though So this paper. Eusebio obtained the diffuse flux of right hill. Neutrinos from his idea and so so. So so the nikkei actually act to build these neutrinos. They'd be flying here do pbs specifically In principle that's a possibility we Considered that for certain Masses of these black holes and certain density of this black holes the flux of neutrinos that they generate over time could be fairly large and so we could Detect these neutrinos If we had a very Power who attacked so Now life is never ideally in the sense that a real Ut detector have substantive issues like ground And so on. So at the end of the people we conclude that impact is giving given the limitations that current nutrient doctors have It may not really be possible to detect neutrinos trump mortgage black holes but people. That's a possibility and that alone is interesting. Yeah because they suggestion that this primordial black holes could be as as you mentioned could be part of the dark matter that yes to seeking. Is that still About us that has been. There has been a debate on these Kind of going back and forth in the scientific community The latest i heard is that Black whose could be part of the dark matter. Maybe even a large part but probably not they entire dark matter so a one hundred percent primordial Battery is a bit difficult to justify the day. experimental bowels that we already have constrained so various types but there could be scenarios where maybe a fraction of the dark matter. He's made of primordial black holes. I wanted to go into a ended up paper in twenty twenty supernova neutrinos directional sensitivity and prospects for dissertation here the export potential of current and future liquid cinta league neutrino detectors. I decade old town. Mass a localize a super a supernova neutrino signal into sky in douglas was feeding the core collapse nearby star tens to hundreds of english Coated and don't be constructed policy in the detector can be used to estimate a direction to the star so so this is now neutrinos from supernova and You so so we. We have Idea here that before this opened on what happens. If please open over a time period it is creating neutrinos that could pick up and and potentially get ready to see the super bowl. Yes that's what excites me The fact that Think about bitter jews. Beetlejuice is the most famous nearby star. That could go supernova anytime and we don't know when that's going to happen and If it wasn't for these neutrinos that our paper is about we will know until the style literally Collapses and and then soon after becomes superman but in this paper we we Show that before the star collapses which is the beginning of the supernova process We can detect these. These neutrinos That are used at that at that stage and so increase the pool we could know that You know tomorrow. These days beetlejuice exploding and that that would be quite exciting. Yeah it's beetlejuice is is red joy and reasonably close to was really big star. I can remember Cecilia there was some suggestion that It could go supernova within something one hundred fifty thousand years which is obliquely in cosmic time so it is getting ready to go to Supernova right yes. I am not you formed about exactly the number of years give or take but it's it's ready it's ready. It could be any time and any time any time for an astronomer muse anytime the next thousand soviet so we should. We should hold their breath. But it's ready could be tomorrow. It could be in a hundred years could supernova. I know that this is not part of the paper but could the beetlejuice supernova avenue adverse effect on north really know a supernova is very very spectacular event. it's it's a star that collapses so it implodes i and that explodes and then when he explodes It's very bright. In the case of bitter jews we could. We could see by naked-eye shore but in terms of A fact of each radiation and neutrinos in light on on us and on our daily activities. It wouldn't it. Wouldn't affect them in any way so it's a save Show to just enjoy without any worry. Great answer so you talking about supernova neutrinos so so can be actually detect neutrinos from supernova. What different from what we talked about in the previous people Different from pbs I'm not sure. Can you repeat yes. So the new teen emanating from a supernova different from the Neutrinos of expectancy from a primordial black hole. Yes the the different In many ways disney trails have higher energies. So it's much much easier to attack them and indicates will beat the jews. We would detect thousands or even more of dan millions. Probably of them Indiana so different in the way they are born because in our primordial black hole ordinary black hole The processes volcanoes the asian. Which which is a gravity phenomenon in a supernova. You're born out of the very hot and dense environment That the that that the star as after it has collapsed so star collapsing on its own way to become very dense and so In this very dense in hot environment nuclear processes take place that produce these nutrients. So i guess the main difference is that indicates supernova it's most nuclear phenomenon and in the call is really fundamentally a gravitational sonam. Okay you discover technique in this paper and you saved sin principle possible unique the identify the progenitor star so So the existing technology and ideas discussed in the paper viki see teacup a neutrino decode. Identify valid came from or what direction thing from embed you can go back and look at the in that direction if he find to supernova then you could say that the supernova that created in-principle Yes let me. Just say that There are situations and this is not one of them but there are situations where if you have one neutrino you can point to the pointing the sky. What came from in these case. It's a little more complicated. Because what really gives us. The information is the statistical distribution of these nutrients so we are talking about may be the tax in hundred a hundred Gable take from say be for example and What did detector really observe is not the neutrino is kind of a vector which is related to the products of these neutrinos so this neutrino sues interacts with the interact with the detector. And then out of this interaction you have a positive on the new thrown and those can be observed and you can you can create a factory using these two and then and then these rector will have a certain orientation but each each neutrino coming will give you a differently oriented vector but statistically if you look at the distribution of these factors you you can tell you can you can do for with a certain of course The direction of the neutrinos because these vectors are not uniformly distributed they are they have a non uniform distribution of the direction. And so using this information we can we can define a regional the sky where The new three could come from so we can. We cannot now down to a point but we can now down to maybe a cone of a few tens of degrees Width and then we look in that cone and see what stars that com and maybe be juicy one of them. Yeah so As you say you if you see a few Neutrinos Statistics bution of those will give us some some probability That it is in in some region of the sky. And then you say the paper You can then that if it is happening please open nola. You learnt other observational. Modalities multi messagero rations Invisible in radio and other other types of observations Do actually pick up more data so this is almost like a early alert system If it is in place right yes i would call it a very early I learned to because it's we're talking about maybe our worse or insert very fortunate cases. We are even talking about maybe day Before the assad goes supernova and. so that's enough time to plan for for it so a something that fascinated me When i heard about this from a from a an experimentalist is that there is a human factor which was not aware of but The factories so if you have come up with thirty minutes to plan for watching supernova this may not be enough because it just takes stein to make phone calls and get a hold of people and and decide what to do. Come to a consensus in that. I saw in addition to technical things. Like okay have to maybe turn your telescope Direction which takes time. But i i was really fascinated by the human factor. Those things that if you had style we'd be you can kind of gathered. Relevant people decide something but if you have thirty minutes or or or minutes maybe not so. Yeah yeah i wondered. If such a earlier system is in place Perhaps could be something programmatic. Crises is picking up And you have some you know. Maybe some ai techniques or something like that that identifies the region and it goes. Programmatic returned the telescopes look. Yes yes exactly so. There could be a protocol in place For that so e if a telescope was suitable for observing a nearby supernova which which is not always the case than than now that we showed that it's possible to know beforehand if a star is going to go supernova then there could be some sort of protocol in place already so that when the alert comes which is we can just activated the protocol and oriented telescope. maybe automatically will in some sort of Organized way yeah as you say if you remove humans from the process it becomes not better there is actually already working this direction It's called this new two point. Oh a network which has to do with Exactly these using neutrinos as alert for the astronomy community and That has to do with exactly a creating alerts and also creating protocols for how to react to an alert rate. I want to end the people that just came out. it concordant scenario for the observation of neutrino from the tidal disruption. Even eight hundred twenty nine hundred ninety s t You say be induced at phenomenology concordance canadia with the logistic jet of for the title disruption event Between ninety s jesmyn proposes a source of the astrophysical neutrino event. Ice cube So the title disruption even this is star getting cooler into a black hole getting Getting sucked in rate is that the is that even up to the match yes This is something that we We had about be in in popular science stalks What what happens if you get too close to black hole and It's kind of scary. So the answer is you would be ripped apart because your feet will be pulled in with a strong force than your head and these. This is what happens to two statehouse. Use the star gas to close than by guests Ripped the park. Which is what the tied is option means and so instead of a star Rotating around a black hole we just have a stellar stellar That dr intially. I created by the black hole and so This is something that The happy neighbor cops serve did so so we have. This does happen this particularly Eighty twenty nine hundred ninety s and Bequeath actually see a new cleaners from that particular even so tightness. Deduction events are fairly well established phenomenon in astronomy. We have many of them served They they are Fairly a common plays events But what's special about this particular one. Eighty two thousand nineteen years. G is that We could let's say It could have Produced on neutrino that was detected a ice cube so eighty twenty nine hundred ninety s. She is the first either direction event. For which is coincident. Neutrinos detected a dice. Cube in queens. This coincidence is likely to be accidental. So on approachability estimate tells us that these coins. This is pretty causal not accident so eighty twenty nine hundred ninety. The g could be the parent of this neutrino. And that's that's that's a i. That's very interesting. Yes i skew. is a is a big ice cube in the in. The south is I'm not sure it's exactly cuba. But it's it's the biggest block of is which has been Eastern With values Small detectors So it's it's an array of swarner detectors but yeah it's basically a big block of ice which has been transformed into a detective and so so the idea that this high energy neutrinos from what they were System montemar even that happened Out there this high energy neutrinos passing through that ice q. believe some telltale signs All of that happening and yuxi picked up Then began back Just like you were talking about the previous creeper begin. Please back to a region so this is one of those cases where you can tell from a single neutrino of course the with with a narrower where you can tell the point in the sky where three neutrino kate from. It's doable with one single neutrino because this high energy neutrinos when they enter the is They produce ca a shower so they kind of illuminate. They you me nate. The is but the do it in a way which is very much Beat so and then and then the direction of the the direction of bigotry knows. We have a pretty good accuracy often. How often could be a pickup something like that. Do we have an estimate of how often that would happen. Meaning ice cube detects something like this. Every year ice cube the tax Of the order of ten high-energy neutrinos froth outside our galaxy. Tadesse the number for the entire crop of neutrinos that ice cube has It went we talk about tidal disruption events in the specific these are fairly rare phenomena and so they estimated that maybe a few times so percent of the entire neutrino flux the thais cubeys of serving could be from tidal disruption events. Not much more than that. So we are talking about less than half of the total flats being to tell this option events okay and so the tug disruption burned as as you mentioned It starts getting clipped applaud and pulled back into a into a a black hole but this ten percent. Do they have to be these braces as they call it. The things that have a jet that is sort of lying towards us. Is that it necessarily condition for these types of high energy neutrinos. It's it's a plausible scenario Let me just say that. There is an important difference between blazers in tidal disruption events. In the fact that the ablaze is something that has a jet. She's always on so the jets kinda kerman feature of of these particular galaxy but the title is adoption. Event is transient events. Saw dotcoms creates the accretion. This accretion of the star of the black hole produces flair is flair can last year or two but then it would just fade away so There could be jet and in fact in our paper we present where there is a jet so they partisans the user chat But if there is a jet in tiger disruption event. That's a transient suggested. That's born when This starts to create the stellar debris. And then it's on for months or years and then and then shuts off and it has two point in our direction as you as you mentioned because otherwise we would. We would see the trains your so this high energy neutrinos sillier how. How many orders of magnitude are we talking about coming to the one set you pick up. Let's say from the sun I'm not sure about the question. Can you maybe rephrase yet. So when you say this high energy neutrinos that is coming from let's say a tidal disruption events or something like that How much comedy orders of magnitude more energy Outdoors come to you. Know the ones that might be created the sun a lot menu of this magnitude so It is a big difference. So the sun produces new three meals. over a wide range of energies Higher energy neutrinos from the sun reach energies of the order of ten am pt and mega awards and for the ice cream. Neutrinos we are talking about one hundred of the older one hundred t. v. or even thousand teams. Which would be p so. Let's say maybe eighty tortoise magnitude finding the mass rife or okay and so this e. v. measure it is actually measuring the mass of the neutrino of newfield. Now these these neutrinos are have such a Such high energy that basically It's impossible to know their mass Because because as i said massey's energy so they talk energy of neutrino Detected is to be so high that that percentage view to its mass east so tiny that this practice mutual so i was wondering if we know the energy couldn't be sort of back computer to save the mass is or it doesn't follow The reasoning is a bit different and The way to sink about this is perhaps they let me see the formula for energy particle Which used the rest energy Applause the kinetic energy and So connecticut is so high that he thought the overwhelms direct energy. So it's it's and of course every time you measure the energy when three no. There is a narrow associated with the measurement so You we can't really we can't really tell what What led the boss of the detroit news but both roughtly this. This appears to be sort of an early warning system for many many things right topped the supernova the in the title disruption events producing heightened plano's So this could be sort of inundated with a monkey message. Observations protocols as you mentioned that gives us a higher success. Wait suspect. I would think certainly nominated be one right That's the power of multi messenger astronomy the integration of different signals coming from Photos tree knows navigation waves Causing me craze and Danger plays very powerful emmanuel cases and maybe supernova case is the most striking Xenos come first. But that's not always the case So in the indicates of tidal disruption events Did you know that was observed. Came about five months later than the initial dhammika looser version of the tidal disruption events so It's if it can go both ways. neutrinos can be early alert or they only alert could be for example a radio salvation or or an x-ray use ovation and then and then the neutrino attacked or could Focus a surge in that direction as see what they find which which has actually been done ice cube sometimes. Does these these archival. Search this on the basis of others from From for example x ray or gamma ray surveys interested. Exciting eighty that said a lot to be owned It seems It seems like these till don't know all the production mechanisms for neutrinos but if we have robust with to pick them up on than we can place them back and and talk asking questions What might be there definitely So yes so. People celia the next five years Wanted the aid is that you believe Be will make a significant crocus in this Innovative neutrinos then two different areas. That a very promising One is Broadly speaking Manmade nutrients so there is. There is a big push especially hitting the united states to build Create very powerful beams of trainings and then these beams are manmade. So we know that very well. We know that energy we know the composition and we can use them to learn about The properties of treatments and then That other men bead neutrino experiments where Scientists look for the between months so that's also very promising In something i really. I really excited about that. That may be a furious novel with noble the neutrino mass us from these very high position laboratory experience. Then there is the whole Topic of neutrinos as part of the mouth of mike messenger astronomy and in that area. I think what was was to look forward. To among other scenes is the interplay gravitational waves shock waves. You still Somehow a science of its own into a large extent but there are so many possible connections. We've neutrinos tidal disruption adoption events should produce reputation ways so baranov shoot us gradation ways So so there is. There is a a lot of potential there which is still unexplored in and that's where i see myself Working on in the next few years you adjust very quickly The do gravitational waves travel bid closest and new ashtrays and so if If they both are produced in In uneven they're expected to arrive on earth close to simultaneously. It depends on the timing of the production if the answer is yes the waves ending a knows are born at the same time which may not be exactly true because the physics that governs tation waves is different from the one that that governs neutrinos. So but the difference in timing would be the difference Accumulated that birth But but the two were were generated genetically the same time. They should arrive the same time. Just thinking this a systematic difference in the production time than guan lorries given early warning for the other. But that doesn't seem to do a case right. There could be cases where significant lag in the production of rotation way with respect to the production of the tree nose and one example is. We haven't touched on this before but let me just nation mergers so if we have if we have a merger for example we have maybe a merger of a neutron stars or black hole neutral star before the merger happens so when the two objects that kind of still approaching each other we should start observe serving ways and this is what this is what has been seen so Delight experiment observes these these nominal But if we have a merger After the merger has occurred and the two objects have become one than a. Dan could be the formation of of over an accretion disk and he secretion Trainers which we can which we can back so the neutrino We come After they initially asian waves and so relation as would be the alert for the neutrino. That does excellent. your this has been great as celia. thanks so much complaining pleasure. Okay thank you bye. This is a scientific sense. Is Amazon's New Show Really Invincible?
"I want to hear your thoughts on amazon's invincible. So you know it's funny. I sat down to watch this last night. And at first glimpse it feels like a saturday morning cartoon. When i was a kid i would wake up early. Get down on the couch gate my bowl free pebbles or whatever it was and i'd sit there and i watch like spiderman and the animated adventure the superman justice league when that became a thing. That's what this felt like. It had of nostalgic feel to me. Then as. I'm sitting there watching this like i start to feel about halfway through the episode. I started to feel like burnt out on superheroes. Like i in. I thought to myself like is this. Because i'm being over saturated with superhero related media right now because the key. We got falcon winter soldier. Wanda vision just came out. There's the boys I'm watching there with my wife and sat there wondering like is this due to like superhero fatigue. What's going on. But then i realized that. Like you know and i kind of realized this when i was reading the comic books but it has a lot of from superhero stories. That have been used before you look at. If it seems to have like a lot from superman it takes an awful lot from dragon. Ball z the planet conquerors. Right or which struggles you i. I'm i'm pretty sure. Inspired by superman justly has adventures thrown in there and a murder mystery tabu as well. So there's so many elements from getting superhero things that have been incorporated into this. And like i guess seeing it on screen really brought it to life and i sat there thinking when the episode was over. I thought to myself like. I don't know if i really wanna watch anymore of this. And like i remember being surprised by a lot of the events when reading the comic books but just seeing it on screen made me feel like like. I didn't need to see it in this type of

"This is your daily charge here to help me geek out over the center. Cut is resident. comic book. Expert has seen it staff. Reporter sean kane. Welcome sean yeah look eke it out well before we begin. I want to warn the listener. That we'll be diving into spoiler territory so you've seen the film yet and don't wanna be spoiled. Turn off the podcast now and come back to us later so folks a minute ago. This islands is passed. Let's get into it sean. Overall what did you think of the film. I was pleasantly surprised. I've see reviews are widely varying. And i feel like your acceptance of this movie will is just a litmus test of your feeling about zack. Snyder's vision for these characters in this universe. Like i did not like batman versus superman don of justice even though i lost saying the title For the first time. I saw it and i was like. Oh this is a silly mess gets the characters. Wrong ivory watched it since i re-watch last year the slightly longer ultimate cost. I liked it a lot more. I'm not sure why accepted it so much. I guess the main thing it was is that without expectations. The first time i saw it. I think the first many what's off. They went in with expectations. And so that. Set me up nicely for the snyder costs. I knew what i was getting into. Yeah i actually. I did enjoy it. I was surprised. I would enjoy i. I was convinced was not going to be. I think because expectations were low for me and it was four hours but surprisingly saw confession is i have never watched the original theatrical cut of justice league in one sitting because always fall asleep like i slept through parts of every every time i've watched it and i have after watching a couple times mostly on airplanes. Were the were free and on demand. I was able to get but in multiple parts and i thought it was terrible and so this movie was a huge huge huge upgrade

"superman" Discussed on Fandom Zone Podcast
"I'm sure this may come up. But the superman for all seasons which is truly one of the great superman stories. Jeff him sale. Yes as a line my mom. May you know like i made it. My mom made it then. They threw that in there which may be very happy. It's fantastic. There seem to be borrowing a lot from a lot of different superman sources throughout the decades. Not just years and you you know we'll talk for those who do not know The smallville did by that trade paperback everyone who worked on smallville. Superman for all seasons was that was given to the writer's room as material. So yeah really really lifting up the tractor. You know kind of reminds you of the movie. There's been a lot of stuff that just kind of nice little not overly avert but enough that you gotta. That's fun occasional nostalgic vibe and especially here comics fan. You really appreciate some of these references all right so three episodes. Let's not talk the first episode.
New Star Trek Movie in the Works
"A new star trek movie is in the works again again again. Yeah so we've heard several different versions now of star trek movies worse. Went from quinton tarantino was supposed to be an r. rated. That'd be some other ones where chris pine. Who's going to see chris hemsworth. Who was his dad. Go back in time a time drifting type deal and then you have this one now which is going to be written by fear the walking dead co executive producer kalinda vazquez who in. This article is commissioned by paramount paramount. Again paramedic riding an original star trek movie for paramount pictures. Along with of course j.j. abrams bad robot producing and so funny because bad robot is now all place. I mean. we talked about him on the monday. Show with the new superman story. That's in the works. Now we talk about possibly producing a new star trek movie. Of course we know his pass with the star trek movies. So i want to hear your thoughts. Do you actually believe that this will be the actual star trek film that hits the theaters. This is looking more promising than not at this
The Eddie Murphy Hall of Fame
"Are joined by van leith in the cost of higher learning and eddie murphy expert to break down the career. One of the greats. What what i what. I what i was going on with guys hanging in there excited to talk about eddie. We're gonna do a hall of fame here so for the folks out there who have never heard hall of fame episode very briefly. Break down what we do on these episodes. We have built halls of fame for tom. Hanks roger deakins. Nancy meyers toshiro buffoon. A monster movies and most recently george clooney. So it's time for eddie. What we doing we build. A hall is ten films from a career. No more no less. He's got forty movies so we got a lot to talk about here. I'm going to start with this. Amanda eddie murphy. What do you think. I think of multiple eddie. Murphy's i think of a lot of characters all in one movie. This is going to be interesting van. I'm really excited to talk to you about all of these because i've been listening to unsurprisingly. There are a lot of rewatch ables movies. Eddie murphy movies on rewatch bulls and i was listening to some of them in. You're on several of them. And you know i had that podcast thing where you want to respond to the person but you know it's a podcast so now you're here and it's a privilege to get to talk to you but for me eddie murphy is a little bit of. It's a generational cork for me. Because i am just. I think a little bit more than both of you and so i became kind of like movie aware movie sentient like mid nineties. Nine hundred ninety five nine hundred ninety six. And i've done a lot of catch up but if you become aware of movies in the mid nineties that means that the first eddie murphy. You get the nutty professor and then milan. And then shrek. I saw shrek in theaters. Not above it. So you know at that point. He's like the elder statesmen of comedy super established. Like i knew the beverly hills cop steam song and dance to it while before i saw it but kind of understanding him as like family eddie murphy and then catching up on everything else. Interesting chronological or not chronological murphy. Experience for me. Then you want to do your history with eddie. I know you are been living with him for a long time. Yes i have been So i hambur what year this was and i don't wanna insult my parents. Every time i mentioned my parents. I get some minor detail wrong and then i have to hear about it into along to our phone call. Your parents listen airpods today. Let's no your show's. I wish they wouldn't but that's nice. Yeah i wish they would but they My father was taking me to see a movie. We were all going to the movies but this time we were breaking it off like my father was taking me to see one of the superman movies. It's either three or four and my sister. My grandmother my mother went to see beverly hills cop two and this was my first experience with with with seeing people so jazz to see a movie because they went this way. Like we went to the superman franchise. I fell off by that point so we went this way and they go this way when they go this way. They're all of these people over there. And i'm like daddy i wanna go over here and he's i know that's too old for you. We're gonna go watch superman. And i say that because that's the moment that i actually became movie sentient by. That's the start of it. That's like what are these people into. Before that i can't tell you when i i kind of became aware of eddie murphy. Because he's like michael jackson in the sense that there was never a time. I wasn't aware of him. I was born in nineteen eighty so by the time. I start getting Information downloaded into me eddie. Murphy's a part of that he's like a part of that thing but the first time. I realized that this guy isn't just a do that. I see on tv or the guy that that he is. The biggest thing in the world is what i saw. People excited to go for it felt. So that's my that's my memory of him and it's not even necessarily what you might call one of his mega classics like beverly hills. Cop two was the event that you can remember that says a lot. And that's eighty seven net says a lot about where we were with. Eddie he was kind of in the middle of i. There are very few movie star runs in the history of movies like the one he had in the eighties. The rise to fame which starts on. Tv i guess tom hanks Robin williams maybe In terms of just successful movies maybe will in there but those movies weren't weren't quite the same as well. what is there were talking about. It's really remarkable when you think about it. There's no like they're not like high concepts with willa was like he needed to be punching an alien in the face to get to this level and like eddie movies are just like it's especially in the eighty s. Eddie is just running around doing stuff. That's that is what this movie is. He's he's being harassed whether he's a cop or he's a convict fresh outta jail or if he's a guy off the street who gets taken into financial institution like it's just it's entirely built around his persona and his sense of humor which is is unusual. We don't see that very much. These
Pokemon community divided over Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl’s graphics
"Pok mon everywhere. It's focus on the first. One is the pokemon legends. Look at all. This is legend arkadiusz. Our our kids. Yes and it's an open world. Rpg that we've been driver out for as. Tom said ten years fifteen years easy ever since the game cube came out. I would say like pokemon stadium. i think. Yeah that's what. I'm saying like the first three games came out and that wasn't like immediately after red blue. Yeah we five years. It's only been twenty five years guys. Yeah that's only been twenty four years. It's it's a free cau- to every single pokemon game that's ever happened in the snow and the snow snow area. You're getting these steam punk wooden proto balls. They're called to catch pokemon and you're literally out there in the grass sneaking up on pok mon two toss and catch. That'll be fine and then the one. I'm very excited for as well as we're getting a remake of diamond and pearl called brilliant diamond and shining shiny shiny. Is it shining shining pearl. Thank you which. I was in the digital green room talking about how. That's probably i mean. Obviously red and blue pave the way. But man i spent i think i sold my parole game somewhere. There's like four hundred five hundred plus hours on that on a little game. So i'm going to be getting that day one. I'm a pearl guy all day. I love me that pollock but it looks really cool. I want to add one. Quick thing about pok mon arcus and i made it apparent on social media all mad that jif is pronounced jeff. I'm still mad. That arche is is arthritis. I can see. That's it's but. I will say that game. I think is going to live and die by. It's how well you move in the area the poco on catch ability and the battle system. If one of those things are not good. Well it looks like it's still turn based battles which is fine but and like if it doesn't look great it's going to be really boring and stale. Yeah and showed a showed in the video showed a pokemon using what looked like tackle. They're actually hitting each other now. Which is like we haven't well. Yeah that's what. i'm saying. The battle animation. If the battle is just gonna be really boring. That's that's what a lot of hardcore poem on like fans get upset with the newer games because the battle emmissions. Don't get better when you have games like pauken tournament. And you're like you do this you can do it. Yeah excited for those coming to the switch Signed me up for both but man pearl my heart. Strings were plucked. When i saw that. I zoom in on the old they zoom in on the original and then it starts up with that like loading. Obviously i've seen that screen for five hundred hours and it was just like it's

WandaVision: Scarlet Witch's Magic Breaks the MCU's Rules
"Week i talked about the nexus nexus being and how wanda is going to be the next this being the next is being being the one that can control the their the prime in in the universe but they control like the multi-diverse and i don't know about that now i i really don't know if that's if wanda is the next us being because they introduced in this episode. They said that. Wanda is basically the kind of like the conductor of chaos magic and we'll we'll jump into chaos magic here in a little bit. But what were you saying. Steven i was gonna say. I took the confirmation that that they are heading there without officially giving her the label of the next being like giving their own cute different name. Which is the chaos which or whatever it was using chaos magic but chaos. Magic is something completely different than the next being chaos magic but it's basically chaos. Magic is basically create a had it written down what agatha said She says to the this. Chaos magic wanda that makes you the scarlet witch And then it says. I don't know it's from somewhere else. But is chaos. Magic is the name of magic so powerful that it was thought to be nonexistent. Even by the source where supreme this magic can be manipulated warp and reconstruct the very fabric of existence and reality for the user and it brings total destruction to the cosmos. Yeah rebecca slow. Isn't that i think that's the thing that's not from this episode though that is from like you know like marvel wicky fandom which i mean trip definitely could be something that she's able to do but in this episode the way that agatha described it was basically you can with your yet. She's capable of creating spontaneous creation. She says you have no idea how dangerous you are. You're supposed to be a myth. A being capable of spontaneous creation. Here you are using it to make breakfast for dinner. This chaos magic wanda

"superman" Discussed on Krypton Report: The Supergirl Podcast
"Crisis i think he's gonna be defended. We really need to see right now. a real relatable. I the earl left off and opening fire and we have art in our and it's great. They built a blow out buyer. I really excited. They were there. They are bad it up and and we see up inc. Proper have bullets in our has opined about gets out on like bird is going to little took on the burn at on have seat how they ended up in earth. And they're all do the stunt being who now are a stunt man that like sunlight or out on back. I ended up a about don i. Yeah their interaction there. Interact together are really good. butting heads on and then when they when when they meet when they see eye-to-eye in the end but the way they way they bump head that clark and john or are standing toe-to-toe with each other. I mean no one else do that. Real stand toe to toe. Superman like that And and john would be. Someone isn't to do that. So tyler definitely a different showed a different side of superman than out in the public eye and with our and stuff. So.
20 Years Later: How Dale Earnhardt's Death Changed NASCAR Forever
"Ryan mcgee. Espn daily's chief. Paint trading correspondent. Thank you for joining me man. That's me man when i started. Espn a really really long. Time ago and i had this accent there were like. Hey you know about nascar right. I go yes you do. More than just know about nascar ryan you have now reported and narrated a new film for east sixty and it's called intimidator the lasting legacy of dale earnhardt. And i wanna talk to you about it today because it's a lot. It's about a lot more than how transcendent dale was on the track. It focuses on how he radically changed. Nascar's culture when it comes to safety but before we get into that. I do want you to just kinda sketch out for us. Who dale was for the uninitiated here and what made him such a towering figure in the nascar universe well and it's interesting because he's been gone twenty years i mean nascar's more than seven hundred races without del earnhardt and so for those of us of a certain age the idea of having to explain him and and why he's such a big deal seems insane but we saw what the last dance. The last dance ron's and half of twitter was like well. He was good. But you know this jordan character. Yeah we should know about it and we were so offended but bless their hearts. They didn't see him play. And so in this case you know. You have an entire generation twenty years exactly of sports fans who didn't see our heart race but it wasn't just about seventy six wins seven championships and also was just about the presence in the room. Always say with dell earnhardt if there was a thousand of us in a ballroom and we're all looking at a stage and he were to come in the back door when none of us were looking. We'd all instinctively. Just turn around because the air in the room changed. There was just a presence in a way that it carried himself and conducted his business and the intimidator thing that was legit. Every time i will. I know him. And every time i was in a room with him there was a little part of me. That was just trying not to say something stupid or pass out so on the back of the baseball card ryan so to speak. What are the accomplishments. That people should know about what dale did. Well the seventy six winds are really big deal but the seven championships and seventy plus year. The stockcar racing only three people one seven championships the checkered flag bands around their heat waves to them. That checkered card. His greatest success was on the super speedways. the taliban soup speedway and daytona he one thirty four racists and though tone national speedway thirty four nella one of those was the daytona five hundred and that was part of the appeal for him was even though he was this one tough customer and the man in black timid and all those things it took you twenty tries to finally win the daytona five hundred lawson in heartbreaking fashion multiple times twenty years frustration. Taylor that program names on the can't take it off. I guess i love it. He just he was in every man but he also of superman and that was always the appeal and outside of that ballroom. Full of the sports powerbrokers ryan. What was his status. Like regionally among the nascar faithful. How would you begin to describe what he meant to those people. What i hated it. Because when he came along in the late nineteen seventies. and you know it wasn't disrespect. But he didn't back down from. Richard petty from kailua from bobby allison from david pearson from any pissed them off the couldn't stand him and he would recommend a short track race. In martinsville and afro richer. Penn is electric. Listen kid you can't do it like this. And he just kept doing his way.
How Green Is Your Favorite Superhero?
"You're out there saving humanity from super villains does it matter. How many pounds of carbon you used to do it. Gotham city would have been obliterated one hundred times over if batman weren't constantly. Bailing it out of trouble but that batmobile sure is a gas guzzler not to mention the bat wing airplane and the electricity bill for the bat cave is probably astronomical so is all that. Do gooding really doing good. After all some researchers from stanford university presented a poster at the american geophysical union's twenty seventeen fall meeting entitled stop saving the planet carbon accounting of superheroes and their impacts on climate. Change the point of the project was to bring awareness to the fact that everybody on this planet has a carbon footprint which is a calculation of how much carbon each of us in our daily activities such as driving eating and heating and cooling our houses the average americans carbon footprint is around forty four thousand pounds that's about twenty thousand kilograms of carbon per year an average person in the united arab emirates uses a good bit more and average peruvian uses considerably less. But what about your average superhero. According to the study they're all over. The map takes superman. According to the comics the man of steel is entirely solar powered which nets him. Fut print of zero. bless him. jessica jones probably comes in slightly below. The average americans carbon used thanks to her small brooklyn apartment and reliance on public transportation and swamp thing. What with his power to make plants grow might actually have a negative carbon footprint. That's not the case for every good samaritan in a cape however the oracle erstwhile bat girl turned computer. Hacker might weigh in at a conservative estimate of one hundred and fifty one thousand pounds or sixty eight thousand kilograms but the figure might be as high as thirty two million pounds or a hundred and forty five million kilograms depending on how many servers she's running even ironman who makes a concerted effort to employ green energy. Sources would come in higher than the average american because of the sheer amount of tech that he uses and the flash who can run near the speed of light might require an insane number of calories to accomplish this feat possibly as much as eighty nine million pounds or forty five million kilograms worth of carbon but isn't a kind of a silly question for serious scientists to spend their time exploring poster co author miles traer a postdoctoral researcher at stanford tokyo's if i calculate my own carbon footprint that's depressing if i calculate batmans carbon footprint. That's hilarious so let's go with the hilarious. It's a way of tricking people into learning.
Wonder Woman 1984 movie review: Patty Jenkinss sincere sequel soars despite its flaws
"I'm so glad you can be here with us to talk about wonder woman. Nineteen eighty-four now. To set up the plot of this movie as best i understood. It wonder woman nineteen eighty-four revolves around magic rock. That grants wishes pedro. Pascal plays maxwell lord huckster who wants of course ultimate power over the universe. Kristen wig play nerdy anthropologist Who will later transform sort of. She's all that style into the frightening nemesis cheetah. And if you're wondering how. Chris pine is in this movie considering how wonder woman ended. Just do not worry about it because it will become a somewhat clear. Glenn we were all i think. Fans of the twenty seventeen wonder woman. What did you think of this. Well i think this is It's bright it's entertaining. It was frequently funny. Which i enjoyed. It can't help but lack the kind of simple story power narrative power of that twenty seventeen film because that was our first real glimpse of the character was an origin story and the villain was so unambiguously evil. The kaiser chemical weapons the god of war. What i like about this film. Is that the tone in the first half. Seems like a direct image to the nineteen seventy richard. Donner superman at some people. Have pointed out and i'm all for that but this had its own story to tell it does lose. Its way about halfway because that's when some pretty dark and muddy. cgi takes over. Which i couldn't really get over because this film has been sitting on the shelf for while had lots and lots of time. And the fact that the siege. I still look so weightless in this kind of surprise me and look the superhero film has been around for over half a century now and we still haven't learned it's important lesson which is that more is less one villains enough people if you know what you're doing pick one and stick with it. I mean these characters work when they're coming from a place of moral clarity and they're standing against someone of equal and opposite. You know immoral or amoral clarity. Now you can say the two villains who worked in batman returns because those villains if you're or call were the penguin and cat woman. They already had a cultural footprint. They were firmly planted in the wider culture. You just can't say the same thing about the cheetah and maxwell lord they just don't have that kind of i hate this word. Stickiness essential stickiness. I do have a theory. Why this movie was so light on. Big action set pieces. I think has to do with essential makeup of the character. I'll get to that later. But look all you gotta know is i grew up with lynda carter wonder woman and the super friends and something happened at the one hour and ten minute mark and assume that may be stand up off mme couch and

The southern an award look look look look we would get a big belliote and now i'm just saying like that's all i want is an amusement park based amusement park in there needs to be a big belly on just want people to give a crap about these honestly at this point that characters are more valuable than anything the writers could ever do is more of the legacy than any future and you can. Just bite me if you want you about that. But they're doing literally everything they can do to ruin the legacy of dc hammocks. I don't know why you won't get sweet stories like this anymore. "Also have what is honestly. My favorite story of the year happened in Rotterdam. Ah Metro train driver lost his brakes. And barreled through the end of a barricade at the end of the train tracks that are elevated, but luckily for him, there was a giant whale sculpture right at the end, and so he basically got caught and held up by a giant whale tail. I love this story because it looks like it's straight out of like Superman. It's awesome.

"Frankly, his suits. Awesome. Okay and not much changes wake. We could really like tell from a lot of photographs between Superman two. Three four there are some changes in material and stuff, but it's all very some of the same suit. His boots always looked bigger to me. I think than what they are. because 'cause they come up really high, but they have really really deep kite in them. That makes him not look. It's it's all the way up over the calf. It's not quite to the knee, but it's all the way up over the cash. Yeah. It's like his nieve since perfectly in the decrease of the boot. I will say I'm not. Picky but the bill always little to plastic he for me not as much like a belt. But the the Cape looks great on his shoulders. The, s crest. Just as immaculate. And then once again we're at. where it's like right like right below the knee. The top of the boot. Yeah and you know Chris had the Christmas the first one to actually like develop a physique to fit the suit to. To actually look like. Superman did. Not, just not just suck in the gut and have some padded shoulders like there was no padding in crisis suit no least at.

"Or I'll have my Superman shirt on or I'll talk about so many people get upset them symbol there like Superman sucks. That means way better Spider-Man blah blah, you know, it's kind of device, but they know if they recognize the symbol they recognize that it represents Superman. And one of the symbol that we use for Christianity and Jesus a lot is the cross level talks about the cross being a very divisive symbol also and the cross is also a symbol of Hope and salvation. That's how we touted. Right? Someone wears a cross. You don't necessarily think that they might be a Christian but you still recognize what the cross for that's why the cross symbol is legal in a lot of countries because it represents Christianity and Jesus in the power that he has over life and death and hell to me the symbol of Superman shield and the cross while they are not the same they do parallel for a reason. Cuz if Superman was really meant to emulate an idea of a savior for all of humanity in his symbol should also represent that ideal. those ideals and so does the cross right? So when people wear crosses I've heard pastors about you where the cross around their neck. You're an example for Christ. You need to act like one. So that's why when I was just men jacket where the shield it reminds me in a way that I'm carrying not just the example of Superman but the example of Christ not to everybody but to me because I know he was created in what Superman was originally meant to be a symbol for so to me wearing the S is almost as sacred as wearing a cross. Again, this is not saying that Jesus is like Superman or Superman is Jesus. It's not what I'm saying. I mean the Holy Spirit uses it to remind me who's example. I'm carrying. I'm going to end it with this end it with a quote from Batman v Superman and then to Bible verses and you'll be surprised how strongly wage they parallel the end of Batman v Superman spoiler alert Superman dies. You had your chance to see it and at the end they're having a funeral for Superman on his grave cuz he doesn't have a monument any more on his grave is written. If you seek his monument look around you and the people that means the people are there as a testament to Superman sacrifice and service and that is what Christians are supposed to be. We are Christians were little christs Christ life. We are the monument not the cross. We not the cross are supposed to be the true symbol of Christ and Superman has often said that humanity is supposed to be some money to how well of a job that he's doing keep in mind if you seek his monument look around you and we're going to read this Bible verse These Bible verses 1st John 2:6, those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did and then you've got 2nd Corinthians 3:18. So all of us who've had that Veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord and the Lord who is dead. Here it makes us more and more like him as we were changed into his glorious image. So if you seek his monument look around you imitate Christ. If you say you've reached that is why Superman always be my favorite. Hopefully you learned something. Maybe next time you see a symbol of Superman Shield you'll think about what that was originally supposed to mean I thought maybe the holy spirit will use it to inspire you to live a little more like Jesus and that's all we've got for you today until then. This is Victor sassano encouraging you to be a bolt of.

"All right, so disclaimer. I know I'm digging out about Superman pairing. The Jesus people are probably like annoyed or confused. Listen and don't worship Superman God, I worship Jesus and only Jesus. Jesus is infinitely better than Superman. He's actually real he loves you. He died and rose again for you. He wants to have relationship with you forever. Jesus is the best. However, the Holy Spirit can still speak through all forms of media and Superman almost seems specifically designed for this which makes sense. If you consider that Superman was modeled after Jesus to be an inspiration. I have the Great Depression. I'm going to give you a quote from Grant Morrison who's one of the more prominent figures of DC Comics. And this is what he says about Superman. It's as if she were man is more real than we are we writers come-and-go General generations of artists leave their interpretations and yet something persists. Something is always Superman and if you know anything about the Holy Spirit is that the holy spirit is always consistent and he can use unbelievers to still get the point across and churn up, Okay? That inspiration that's one reason and here's what I'm going to talk about next and need to hear my heart on. This is probably going to poke a little bit because you might not thought about Superman this way and what I'm going to say could be construed as heresy. You didn't understand why I'm saying what I'm saying Superman off his symbol that he was in his chest does not stand for Superman, right? Everybody should know by now canonical e, it's the Kryptonian symbol for hope Hope is one of the three things that last at the end of faith. Hope and love so says the word of God, right? And the greatest of these is love but hope is in there in Jesus Christ came down in a hopeless situation used his love and sacrifice is an act of love. To set us free and give us the hope that we could have eternal life. Now. Sometimes I worry the Superman jacket that I've talked.

"What's up, everybody? Welcome to lightning bolts. Another jackets really take our concerns and questions about Christianity and figure out how to kick him in the teeth. I'm Victor sassano your host. Here we go. All right, guys, welcome back. Today is gonna be a little bit lighter of an episode last two were about the truth about Christianity and racism and if you haven't listened to those you feel free to go back and listen to those if you want to but you don't have to listen to those to listen to this one cuz this one's going to be completely different. So we're going to talk about something a little bit less controversial than racism or Christianity. I'm going to talk about Superman. Now, I know people have problems with Superman. I know we're not going to address a lot of those we're going to just a couple but we're going to talk about why he's my favorite. We're going to talk about some stuff. Maybe you didn't know about Superman like some fun facts, right and a lot of my sources come from just being a nerd in general and being a complete Superman fanatic but one of the books you've read. That's one of my absolute favorites is called The Gospel According to the world's greatest superhero and it's by Steven Skelton. You can find it online. I'm sure you suck. And bookstores to but we're not allowed in there right now without a mask. So if you don't feel comfortable, you can buy it online and it's it's a really great book. It's one of my favorite books ever. So I know people have problems with this page with Superman's powers, you know, and he's he's not human enough. He doesn't have enough human struggles. He's too old P. Right. So and when some of them came from this quote that I heard from one of the one of the writers of DC someone asked him how strong is Superman and his response was Superman is a strong as he needs to be home. And well that makes a fanboy like myself. Like speak out cuz that's like super it's a cool. It's a cool phrase to me. A lot of people hate it cuz.

"Nonsense the truth of the matter is Goku is the better fighter. He's equal in power in fact, higher level because he goes to God and Super Say god-like forums, and if Superman punches, punches, punches, heat breath doesn't work I got a flight ASANDRA. This is a character who's already been defeated I'm ready for a verdict. Here's the deal. So yeah. Yeah. You'll find sudden seconds come back. I wonder how long does he take for Goku form of spirit on. I've never bought up spirit bomb at all because I didn't think it was inappropriate attack for. How long does it takes too long? That's why I never that's how long does it take him to power up listen he you could go watch one punch man, its entirety comeback and GOCO unfortunately we'll still be trying to figure out how to power up to ultra listen. We'll all stick around for the battle and watch it but it takes a while look we've gone back and forth we can't do this any longer Zach, this is up to use your reason I could do five more points user intelligence, use the awesomeness that Zach and tell us who won this battle, take us through your process and tell us who finally won the ultimate versus matchup of all time. Okay. So we've got, we've we talked a lot about speed. We talked a lot about heat. We talked a lot about strength and durability where I started to the ball really got rolling for me when when I heard God because frankly superman is not a god. Based on what I've heard today also, the telepathy thing that really started to get my brain turning now the sun bit about charging up I started to think well, yeah if Superman can ascend then we're back on the evil. Playing fields and we're going back to whose brain brawn ratio is. The. Best. But. I think ultimately Goku being able to turn it on and off his ability to ascend like a light switch raise what you said. I think right and being able to yeah. If Superman goes to the sun yeah. He does have time to get ripped and then that whole thing where he's done his. Effectively like..

"Shown on multiple occasions he could figure out a way to use energy to do something very, very similar back Adam if he needed to see the interesting part is that you know Crillon. In the Freezer, saga? Zach he got forgive me like I'm not just a nerd on TV I'm real life to when when Crillon was taking on, freeze it for the first time he actually hurt freeze a cut off part of his tail by using this really good solar flare tacky create this spinning disk of like energy and he'd whip it frees it took part of his house actually really cool. Goku seen that attack but he's never duplicated against an any of his it comes back more and more something that actually works and hurts them why didn't go who use that attack? So I'm just wondering if you could mimic stuff why would he? Stuff, what are you talking about? He's here I. Just told you a whole bunch of stuff that he can do and you're like, why did he do this thing? That did this one thing to this one character we'll because Goku. Is it leading you in ten different other ways. Yeah. Let let me just get to my point number two to clarify things we're gonNA talk about opponents here and Ray. You did bring up a great list of opponents. Again I love Goco I. Love watching him be people by the way he's lost a few times to bring that up pretty soon. Superman, let's talk about opponents that Superman's beaten. Okay. So Superman has beaten the hulk. He's beating them three times in three separate marvel crossword events. He's gone up against him beaten and beaten very quickly. Mind you these were not prolonged battles. These were like one to two pages of the Comic Book and Superman Wins and other crossover event where the avengers fought the Justice League Superman took on and beat four. Talking about heavy hitters who brands beaten? Doomsday. Doomsday is the one who beat the justice. League can do day tore apart the planet or at least metropolis was crazy and superman to give it his all he defeated doomsday put doomsaying death like state supreme went to a death like state they both came back but they since battled more and Superman pretty much one. Every time since then in the DC universe segments, beaten gods and so called higher beans when beer who we mentioned the god of destruction, I stuck on Goku he took everything Goku who had and then beat Goku at the end Goku actually gave up because he said I just don't have what it takes to win. Nothing is the god of destruction who can. Destroy Planets Not Universes Ray Nice try and goes last Superman's beaten dark side. Now, by the way, dark side is considered to be much more powerful than Thanos. Don't tell you why dark side actually exists as one ultimate powerful being in every dimension kind of like what you're saying about Unicorn arena previous battle. So there's not just a different version of dark side. Never, universe one dark side so powerful that lives in every universe at the same time I have no idea how this works. It does but Superman has actually physically beaten him as well and finally here's my favorite. He's beaten a character called the world forger and the world forger is a reality warping universe creating a real universe destroying being that's what he does. In, Dragon, ball super. There's you know being called Zeno and Zeno that can create realities and Goku even in his ultimate form ultra in six you know the most powerful form he knew full well, he shouldn't. He couldn't be dino and shouldn't even try. We didn't even think about doing it luckily was cool but never got to that superman on the other hand. Well, not only. Did. They take on the World Warrior but he threw threw a whole bunch of stars what was described as speed that was beyond physics again, I don't know what that means..

"Okay and Goku. Used one of his comedy Hami, how blasts and was able to overcome all of them and you're familiar with the wizard duels of Harry Potter and voldemort shoot the ones that each other or even to lightsaber battles lay luke skywalker invader where they clashed lightsabres and push them those energy attacks. These are planning to destroy attacks many many many of them coming down Goku one comedy haw and he was able to wipe them all out and defeat them. Okay. Not just that he can combine these attacks he can use his key energy and he can essentially what Captain Marvel does. He can put the energy into his fist and then explode out of that fist of massive amount of energy when he punches people. He defeated what cooler. Oh my Gosh Cooler. You know another planet destroyer took him out completely one of my greatest things that I saw as far as powers go that specifically matchup superman vs Superman, and he did this in the injustice comics but he's done it all the time the heat vision in injustice comics you shows that if he really wants to kill somebody, he'll here's the heat vision and burn a hole in their face sort of like what homeland or did at the end of season one of the boys. Spoiler. Alert he did that to someone he Goku specifically has resistance to heat. He has a massive massive heat resistance. So if Superman. Poor fighting superman attempts to shoot the way. One of his to attacks at Goku Goku is just going to eat it. He's going absorb that energy and that's GonNa Leave Superman open for a real real massive rude awakening in the form of either Kami or anything else from that. Repertoire. One of his favorite moves that who can do is that he hits you. So hard you go flying through a mountain flying into space flying across the surface of the planet and then he instant transitioned, right? You, as you're flying with his teleport skill and he knocks you straight up down into the ground or stops your momentum immediately, which let's face it if doomsday and the level of power that doomsday can can can almost rip been half Goku with some of these ridiculously powerful energy attacks can one thousand, one, million, percent, one, octave, million percent. Defeat. Superman the same way he defeated all these other characters that I've already mentioned on the show. That's my point number two. Wow okay, there's a lot I would say nonsense just GONNA call it wrongness to your first of all Goku doesn't Mimic People's powers. What he can do is almost winning season energy based attack. It's like a technique it's like a martial arts technique so he can mimic energy based attack because a lot of what he does you know energy based attacks. So if someone figures out a new way to shoot a certain style of energy like the Gatling gun attack that the Geeta does or what crillon does Goku can kind of mimic that. If not even do better, I will give them that because its energy based attack, he's not duplicating Superman's invulnerability he's not duplicated Superman's heat vision he's not duplicating superman. Level of speed when he's thinking, those are all like physical power she's got so. You're misunderstanding James Because I think if he was to see Superman do heat vision or see Superman do the cold breath I think he could immediately figure out because of the mimicry ability that he's.

My Dad's been collecting for fifty five years. Now fifty nine. I've been to museum. I have my wife brought me down for my birthday as a surprise and she wanted to do it as like a surprise cause us to get to go and experience it without the craziness of the celebration. So I've got to go and I love it and my kids. WanNa go because they see Mommy and daddy in front of the statue and my son. "Some great stuff in that story there first of all Mankiewicz not name definitely rings a bell. So who is he chip? Well Tom Mankiewicz was the son of Joseph. Mangku it's okay wrote and directed all about eve and then he's the nephew of Herman Mankiewicz. Who wrote Citizen Kane so quite a movie legacy and then of course Ben Mankiewicz is on Turner Classic Movies? Yes from Anklewicz. Those great uncle or something. I don't know I lost track. But they're all relate. Yeah so I love that image of Richard Donner putting on. This is a superman costume that they gave him running across the lawn to greet his friend and convince them to sign on to do this Rewrite it's quite the image. Yeah and then of course. He showed us a photo later of Christopher. Reeve wearing the costume. That was pretty great so Tom. Mankiewicz is on board rewrite it. So what would you think he meant by like a parody of Parody Lake campy probably and he didn't want that bright so Mario Puzo has written this campy version of Superman two hundred fifty Cami pages. Yeah what do you call it? A parody of parody and I think what he was trying to get at with banquets was something more rooted in reality. Something the audience can really attach themselves to write because until that point superman was a television show in the fifties but it wasn't a serious property and no one really took it that seriously now superman at the time was the TV show in the fifty s which the flying material that they gave us that they had been preparing production for a year. Was that kind of flying. It the guy laying on board with a couple of ropes and smoke being blown by him. I mean that's all they had. We had to start from scratch. Sorry I didn't mean to interrupt you know not at all. I'm curious you know so. People didn't take superman very seriously exactly from that. Show right. That was sort of just kitty stuff. But as a kid you did I remember as a kid. I took that seriously right that Jack Armstrong or whatever that allows the incredible hulk seriously but you watch it now and it's yeah so this was was there ever took the incredible I did. What was your childhood like? I was angry but I'm just wondering because it is still accepted as the template of these serious epic Blockbuster Comic Book Movies that have now completely taken over Hollywood. And I'm wondering if at any point you you all sat and said we can change the way people see comic books. We can make something you know real important and lasting. No no no no no because we hello there were made comic book movies before the TV shows. There were some that. Were done before Superman but I had not seen them. Our approach to it was that this had to have a sense of reality within its own reality and as I said You. Original script took this parody of life imperative on top of it so when it couldn't you couldn't treat it as a reality couldn't treat a love story is a love story. You couldn't treat Clark Kent Lois Lane in Superman has jules and Jim so we approached it just that this had its own reality. It's not real. But it's real within its own moments in time and that approach worked because like you said kids take it seriously and low. We'll seth was. They're taking it seriously. I was taking it seriously. So this tone that he struck really nailed it. Yeah all right. So the movies ago the rewrites happening and of course it came prepackaged with Marlon Brando and Gene Hackman. Right they were not negotiable. But who would want to negotiate nausea hanging in your movie so the problem was they needed a superman. Richard felt since they had two big stars. They didn't need a big star to play superman so they went looking for superman. When I came on the picture it had been in pre production for I think a year or two and They're casting was to approach stars. Who were they at the time? Paul Newman Redford stallone. I mean you name them and they they wanted those people because they wanted a name and I said look you've kind of Marlon Brando and gene. Hackman you don't need a name and not only that if we're GONNA make this thing work I just can't see Robert Redford in tights flying over metropolis. We have to find a new or a real superman and we lots of arguments as you can see. I didn't get along with them and Casting director I need some of my office. Lynn stall master two billion. Yes Oh great Greek theater and he said I saw this kid and I play downtown the other night and I want you to meet and I said swell and we were on the tenth floor of the Sherry Netherlands in New York of Summer Day. Windows were open in the window flies. This kid stands on them window Silva wind blowing in his hair. He steps in is you can fly. That's automatically gets you. The party's thank you know he sat down. Were you going this? And he was very skinny picture and his hair was going to light blond light brown rather put the whole thing was. He was so serious when he talked about the character. And when you read that all of a sudden it was like I'm hearing a myriad the way it was written by the way I wanted but I had a problem. The kid was skinny so that night I went to see him in a same play down in the village and he was wonderful. Really wonderful great presence so I called him back and I said listen. I don't know how are we going to do this? But we're going to build you up. If you he said I was a jock all my life he said and I and I was built up as another fifty pounds heavier. He decided to become an actor. I lost all that weight because I didn't want to. I can you put it back. He said I promise so. We hired him. I mean I shot a screen test with him in that outfit with perspiration rings under the things and Black Shoe Polish hair and my when he did Clark antiwar my worn rim glasses and when he came to England we put him with the actor that was in the wookey. What that Big Peter Mayhew? Yes he was a weightlifter in a body builder and he worked with Chris. And you could actually see a day by day as his body starting to come out so Had we find soup? And that's how I tested so many people because the studio wanted them tested including the dentist of the wife of the producer who physically looked like a mentoring but but poor guy was he was a good dentist has done this Sunday work. Stay away from it. Any fan boys listening. You have to be happy about some of the stuff to back up with. Christopher Reeves trainer to get him bulked up to play Superman seven foot two inch. I'm Peter Mayhew Tobacco King Out. Yeah and now. He's training Superman and a dentist. And then you get a bonus little story about the sleazy producers. Who Somehow got his wife's dentist audition. Yes with this Dennis. We can film seven Superman for the same price a cheap. And he'll do all of our team. That's probably the producers. Pitch all right moving right along so we have. Kidder was not necessarily the only choice. There were others and if you go online on Youtube you can see additions of some of the other actresses who tried to be Louis Lane. "I don't know why does but we also we also see when Superman damages cyborg super. I'm GonNa Climb Hinshaw when Superman damages hinshaw make how how the the alien tech like repairs him and also when he revealed his his chest in his life where he was controlling the mother box. We have now a large out. Omega symbol by dark side has on his chest. Yeah Yeah that was pretty cool So in Howard books as the fight goes on cyborg Superman in he's using Kryptonite to kill the radical leader in to kill Superman. The the the Kryptonite is going to do it. And he uses the Kryptonite to destroy. Try to destroy Superman with like a full-on blast in the ARATU cater. Peter comes in between them and somehow the energy that is blasted through cyborg through eradicators recharges Superman. So very you know like how is that supposed to happen with the thing that is supposed to kill so very weird how it happens. The comic books will admit. Says you said Lois. Lois is jumping around. She's fighting she's you know floating in zero gravity. You trying to help superman fight henshaw and she She reaches out she she pulls A. She pulled a lever or any releases. The Sun Shields. I'm guessing to you know what they're called sunshield you know. Stop the stop. The the the blazing light of the Sun Straight from outer space not coming in through the atmosphere from from coming into at the end of the satellite so she calls that she'll releases in it's actually really cool. 'cause that direct sunlight recharges superman owning a what what should recharge him and make him more powerful. This direct sunlight. You know out in space being are not through the atmosphere not through the clouds. Everything like that and I I love it because she risks to save him in pays off you know and.

"Keeps calling out for human whereas but there are four beings that are all claiming. Well I mean I would say three of them are kind of claiming to be Superman. One one of them's not but people companyman there. See I honestly to me when I when I watch it. I mean it seems like there's two really claiming to be Superman. Obviously they're super boy. Who's being promoted as such right the same thing from comics? He's being promoted as Superman. And then cyborg Superman saying that he he is Superman. So those two are the ones who are actually saying they're superman steel comics. I don't think anybody even even like is like old. He's Superman or you know. He's claiming to be Superman. He's trying to be Superman. I mean it's more obvious that the guy is a guy beginner in a high tech suit. You know trying to At least emulate baby his hero. So let me. I'm the public view. You know what I'm saying so let me you. Which one of the war is your favorite steel? Steel always been my favorite mine into and why I used to have a toy. Why steal your favorite? Because he's he's more of the heart part of the character in. Oh he's he's just trying to And he says it in the movie in same thing in the comic ceased trying to live live his life better better. He's trying to o Superman his life superman saved his life so he believes to honor Superman. Dan is to do what he can save people you know. Try and try and live up to at least The standards as a hero. That Superman That Superman sh- in the He said I mean that's exact and he set a yeah basically I was trying to I couldn't think of better our word but yeah set the standards that he sat. And that's exactly what steals my favorite because to me he represents what Superman stood for. And it's it's it's taken. It's an average person stepping up and being superman and that's why he's my favorite. I mean out of these characters. steelers is my favorite conner. Kent is a very close second in but that's also that's also some some. He's got kind of a couple of versions and in this version is like him out the gate being a teenager. My favorite version of Conner Kent is from Young Justice. Mine too and so let's so let's break down little bit okay. The four versions okay. We'll start with the clone. Which is super boy you know in the comics win super boy when this version of Super Bowl appear to was the first time? That super boy was not superman as a child. You know it wasn't a version of Clark. It was the clone and in this we get a a really good version of super boy. It is very much the story of super boy from the comic. The reign of the supermen where he knows he's a clone. He knows he's a boy he's young and he you know he's in in the public eye. He's not afraid of the publicity he's having fun with it and what I like about it is. They didn't so the first version of course that we talked about before. He had like tactical telekinesis. telekinesis amiss completely bypasses that. He's just like a lower powered superman. He has superman's powers. But they're not as powerful is what I gather from this version of super boy pre. It seems that way a and you could argue the fact that he's so young he doesn't have the he doesn't have the years of of energy storage and will reference back to super boy from young justice which I think say he couldn't fly. He can leap but he can't fly any doesn't have heat vision you know. Of course there's the episode of Young Justice would talks about him wearing what he calls the shields which suppresses the human DNA you know lost the Tony Flourish which is thing is him full power but this super boy has all the powers like I think he uses heat vision. You know one point in this bud. He's.
