That was one of those performances that you go to a couldn't do that. Ryan Fitzpatrick had a spectacular game. Caught a pass runs for a touchdown throws. A couple of touchdown passes completes 90% of his passes. He is Mr September. Yes, MMA club. You can't say you caught a pass. He threw it in the defense of lime and bad id her right back to him. AP Source: Chargers' team doctor punctured Taylor's lung

"Adam, Schefter just reported that tyrod Taylor. The reason why he did not get to play this past week in an intern air bear started for the first time against Kansas City chiefs at ended with hitting a fifty eight yard field goals and another fifty eight yard field goal. But a highly contested matchup between the chargers the chiefs it is now being reported that the chargers team doctor accidentally punctured his own quarterback tyrod Taylor's lung just before kick-off. Sunday while trying to administer a painkilling injection to the quarterbacks cracked ribs league and team sources have told ESPN. According to my sources. Adam Schefter says, now, this sounds terrible whenever you give your I read this and like especially the way she afterward it there the chargers team doctor punctured his own quarterbacks lungs, and that sounds absolutely bad and I was kind of mind blown by this believe it or not. We are given a heads up on this yesterday but we're not a big news breaking world I don't want to dive into the news breaking world because there's a bunch of Peron in sharks in. Going ever dive in there. So I asked around to a couple former teammates in friends of mine that have maybe gotten the same procedure how the hell can something like this happens this sounds terrible in the answer I got from everybody who has had this procedure done, which by the way is marketing, which is in the Novacaine. There's another Cain the mark which is. A numbing agent basically that gets shot directly into the area that is injured for instance, in this particular case, the cracked ribs. Now, the reason why it's done. So close to game time is because it only lasts four four and a half hours so they can't get it done in the morning because the numbness wear off, they can't get it done the night before because. Off they have to do it right before the game, which is why it was surprised to everybody that air bear was starting over tyrod Taylor, including Air Bear, and I would assume the entire chargers offense. Now, what happens though just like whenever you're in surgery now granted this happened to the people I talked to harm percents short happened to tyrod Taylor but just like whenever you go in for surgery for anything, they tell you the possible side effects this could. Potentially happen because surgery this could potentially happen. It's like basically this small print at the bottom of contracts like, Hey, this is all the good looking come from this but also this can happen every person that I talked to got a similar treatment as this said that they were told by the doctor that there was a chance that along could get punctured in the process because when you're giving a shot into the ribs, the long obviously is right there one. A. Hundred percent sure of tyrod Taylor. Was told that before we got the shock. I'm just telling you what I was told by people who got very the exact same situation here free. The bruised ribs are cracked ribs allegedly this is a much more common practice than even I knew about I've probably seen guys potentially get this shop before and didn't even know this was happening because I had nothing to do with me but I guess this is a pretty Common practice whenever you have a crab or bruise rib because it works like a charm I was told and I was also told that they shoot it a little bit above wherever the crack or the bruises in. Let's just settling in for four and a half five hours. You feel amazing. It's that next day you see more that night when it wears off that you feel absolutely terrible thus why I am incredibly happy that I played a position where no motherfuckers. where I could potentially need that. So that is what happened. We obviously tease piece for the punctured lung and the cracked ribs for tyrod. Taylor but from my knowledge of my research calling people that got a similar thing, they said that they were told that was a possible outcome. It's like point one percent that it could happen. But in surgery just like anything in the medical field, there is obviously a chance at something bad to happen it happened tyrod Taylor. I'm not giving an excuse for the doctor do your fucking job right? Especially whenever the people that told me, they said it's like a ninety nine. percent chance it goes well and nothing happens. So if you get that one percent and it's a failure, obviously the doctor did not do here and I would assume would have to answer for that. But that is what I've been told about this entire process. That is why it was such a shock to everybody including air bear who said he was surprised in ancient said, let's go and do this. So I think that is why everything happened the way it is I've been told I'm not a doctor they are not doctors but a punctured lung on punctures itself somehow I don't know that means I guess. Shout out to the human body for puncturing itself. He could play week to week is really could potentially play next week. What do you say day breaking news just from in report he's not GonNa play this week harbored is going to start. Okay. So here we go. There's big news not playing this week. So as long isn't completely on punctured and also. I think that is why because the way one down in him losing the starting job was actually the chargers fault that is why Anthony Lynn came out and said unless. tyrod is he's still are started because I would assume Anthony Len former player was like we gotta fuck this guy here. So whenever he was asked about who's the starter even after incredible debut by Air Bear in the game that they had against the Super Bowl Champs Anthony Lynn probably was. I mean, we couldn't say it obviously because worn one hundred percent. Sure because at the time they're probably still reviewing and Anthony Lane. Prada. Didn't get a chance to do a full checkup on house whatever the case maybe didn't and he didn't want to be like. tyrod Taylor's by the way. We're the reason he's out and he is we made this disease like they. Couldn't say that. So that's why I think I was confused by the way insulin handled the question I think a lot of people are potentially confused but now we know air bear starting this weekend tyrod Taylor not only has cracked ribs but also punctured lung hopefully that unpunctual quickly we're not doctors they have no idea but it is nice to know that this type of thing does happen has happened in the past we probably. Haven't heard about it for whatever reason, and this is something that happens on a regular basis with success. So it's not like they were going above and beyond to make him put him on the field. This is something that has happened in the past

What would you do? Well, Kyle Shanahan. Look, let's bring this up for just a second, though I'm Nick Mullen's going out there. I think, Kashi and and the 40 Niners will be a competitive team. I'd say the bottom does fall out. You had a lot of injuries there. What if the bottom does fall out, and one of those three quarterbacks are right there? What you think Shannon's going to do? See that committed Jimmy Garoppolo. All you guys after the Super Bowl were calling me up, saying that this guy's not the right fit. He's overrated. He's not what it takes to really win a championship of the NFL. It's all shaneah Wolf. She had hands that good. "All. Right time. Now for the weekly awards in case you're unfamiliar will explain them to you. This seem straightforward. Doesn't it on the Lam that'd be the Philadelphia Eagles Starting Owen to Mike, mentioned earlier nineteen and eighteen. Since they won a super bowl, they got the bengals coming to town Bettag must-win. You gotTa beat the Bengals Yeah I mean. Look at the Eagles back to the wall and you go back and look at you know where they are and what they're doing and how and where their talent bases and what kind of off season they had I mean remember now this Philadelphia Team. Going into next year and they can get rid of a bunch of players going into next year they're like eighty, five, fifty, million above the cap if the cap stays exactly the same. So now they are they not very good. Are they going to be good? You know they got to get rid of some of these guys and some of these young players that there's counting on the good players just haven't come through forum as of yet. So we'll see how it works out but right now I'm a you lose that home game. I mean this town's this town's about ready to explode I mean just come watch. Daily News. Should 49ers be worried about Super Bowl hangover?

"Super bowl hangover thing it's talked about a fair bit and I'll have to bring it next time on. But I've tweeted about it before and and noted that the team loses the Super Bowl auction has huge trouble making the playoffs the next year Then that's the super bowl loser not the winner. So outside of the New England, Patriots who bounced back off that Philadelphia lost that we were both there for in Minneapolis and beat the rams the next year usually look at the rams last year out of the playoffs look. The Falcons the year after they blew the twenty eight three lead out of the Playoffs Carolina hasn't won a playoff game since they were super bowl loser. So you double back over time you see it a lot. I wasn't expecting the forty niners and I'm still not to miss the playoffs. But what what's being asked to them in the NFC west where I think the best three teams are that will finish one, two, three, NFC, the AFC may change my mind about that if either of the Ohio teams steps up in his really good they both lost yesterday. In different circumstances but I think this is the only division that can necessarily happened in some people like the NFC north I should point out because they liked the lions but we saw what transpired with him yesterday. So it's GonNa be a tough decision to win games in that, and that's one of the forty niners are really really gonNa want back and for Jimmy Garoppolo non no interceptions but there was just nothing exceptional about his play yesterday and we saw a lot more check down as well to to Mostert than than we wouldn't necessarily expected look you. Also take George Kit off the field, and that's a factor and a needs to get talked about and discussed that he had to play a good chunk of the game a game they end up losing by four points at home, and he had to play good chunk of the without George cadle do that to the cardinals take the Andrei also field for for a couple of possessions and Arizona struggled a lot more than

CoD League Layoffs

"Let's go. Let's switch gears a bit. Can we talk about? Do Business we call of duty leak and look. It's another opportunity for me to you know rag on them a bit. But this was an article from Dallas News, DOT COM and. And the article, the headline was Dallas Empire partways with three time world champion cloister prior to twenty twenty, one season with the twenty twenty one cdl season moving to a four on four format. The Empire had to make a tough decision. So basically, just to summarize the article next year call of Duty League is going to a foreign four format versus a five on five format. And that means. After winning the call of duty, league, championship the after the empire, which is owned by envy. I believe after they won. Now. They're essentially laying off their one of their if not the star player on their team. Which is weird right while Liam on it's it's we are dessus like this would be like if like three super bowls, the Patriots were like you know what Tom Thanks Take Yeah, you really you really contributed bet they're going to a sixteen and format and. It's weird. Because presumptively look an I'm not an expert on call duty scale, and maybe he is not mechanically as strong in this last season is he wasn't early seasons. If you win three world championships, you're probably pretty good. Seems like a keeper to me what's going on Axel like you follow the Collagen more than like what's behind this kind of bombshell shift? Yeah super curious stuff. Obviously the context of this to everyone's kind of playing from home. Everyone's kind of navigating through all this cove stuff. So everything's Kinda different in general I think there's a lot of fun tangents we get into call itself. I'm sure you guys have explored conversations of of of of free to play versus the yearly model which I think is the hardest thing that games like Halo and call of duty of had to overcome the fact that they're used to releasing a game every year for sixty bucks. How does that work with the East sports? Ecosystem. If your game is constantly changing, you're expecting a new pro seen to arise from new game every year versus other games like starcraft, which has been the same, which will which will be the same versus other games that are just completely free to play and only have updates every. So often likely legends and fortnight so. Ton Nick into potentially there but at the end of the day. This roster move call of duty in in closed her the constant changes. I think there are always going to be tough I mean just the fact that this change is happening with the League, the roster changes having to be made it clearly didn't seem like there's a lot of heads up given to players and teams, which is a big deal when it's such a massive franchise chef, the vestment and big deal for so many people so. Yeah Dude I'm Kinda of be Willard about this as y'all are I was mentioning earlier when we were talking for the show the fact that. We see a lot of east sports teams with like really nice. Really good subs in, and that's the thing that gets me with this cloister comes into this team's veteran As a leader to his players and I think that obvious first of all they they release a lot of their comes and it's pretty clear that places leader these guys not only that he's older than these guys and he's had more titles. I'm sure. I'm sure all his teammates would say the same thing. So I feel like I would have loved to see some capacity were still involved as a power sub on the team because guys in east sports it's not just going to be these this roster verse Dash Roster All. The time. We're GONNA have teams that throw in a sub in game two maybe they throw on a seven game five they're on their specialist in game one so on and so forth. So I kinda get confused when I think about that dynamic is like how do you let go of this guy when he's a leader? He's one of the truest veterans of the scene is clearly skilled and you have the potential ever power sub who can still be a leader for your team. So there's a lot of questions there for me. I answer that question for you because I think, I know what it is I. Can I mean Paul Area? Oh I have a theory you better have. Your theories probably going to be the same as my theory I mean. This this is like cost-cutting, right? The like these teams are all burning prodigious amounts of cash. Call of duty Lee activision blizzard. Done much on the Economic Split Front I'm sure right I guarantee you the honest messaging from activision blizzard. His guys were not expanding this year. You know don't bet on any increase in dollars coming in from the league. Three three next year. But so so the very simple they look at the roster and they go who's the most expensive player it's our oldest guy three time champ like. But he's probably the highest player and they go. Well, we killing and the reality is, and I'm totally speculating now I've never seen this guy's contract but I'm expecting a lot of these contracts are done to in once right two years plus one right so he's played out. It's a free break. There's no penalty fee for it. Maybe some other guys are in the I truly suspect it's economic. It's either that or there is such a radical change coming to the game beyond the four four format Matt that. Like the seniority and the expertise disadvantage that they believed that the new game looks so different from the old game, they don't want to see the game championship but I I wa-. Today all. You can't tell her every. Rose. Re Stone grows off.

The National Anthem in Sports: What's Next?

"If you got an a time machine four years ago and set it for twenty twenty, your eyes would get wide for all kinds of reasons and the site of full teams superstars kneeling during the anthem with support from their coaches and owners and leaks. That would be one of the most startling. Players coaches. Game officials alike, all taking me in Orlando, our full moment before the game during the national anthem all of the players wearing black lives matter shirts most of them taking a knee including Naperville Central Alum Casey short and team made Julia. Earth's clearly emotions running high for both of them in that moment with a moment of silence here and respect pre-game in support of social justice seventeen different Texas rangers players took a knee during that moment including meadow door Robinson. Torino's NFL is kicking off tonight and whether you cosigned the venue of his protest or not Colin Kaepernick did prove something that both sides of the aisle can agree up. There is no ritual more sacred in American sports than the. Star spangled banner. It would be crazy to underestimate how it makes us feel. Fans as citizens on all kinds of levels, and if you're a musician performing the anthem, I'm testing the microphone check one, two, your the one who channels almost emotions and identities in that pregnant moment. Can you hear that John Batiste is from New Orleans. Say Julia. Grad. Who among many hats leads the band for the late show with Stephen Colbert. His latest take on the national anthem played before the first game of the NBA Restart in Orlando back in July. When players took the court amid questions of how they keep the focus on social justice from inside the bubble. Tonight's presentation of the national anthem has been recorded by musician producer activist and Louisiana Native John Booties. This great to be here. Thank you for having me. So I wanna know what went through your mind when you're contemplating how to perform this particular song at this particular moment. What did it mean to have this opportunity to remotely address this community amid a broader social movement in our country? Asking these questions of how we fit into society and what? Society owes us in what society continues to maintain the status quo have been questions that I've been wrestling with prior to. All of the social unrest that we're seeing. Wrestling with these questions in dealing with the dice, sport influences of black music and really chronicling my own personal experiences, a black man in America and as a musician from the south, and you know this this moment presented itself. And it really felt organic to step into it. The anthem really being this combination, this historical document if you will in our country. There's also there seems to be a flavor of like to my on educated yearly southern rap kind of feeling the beats that you put in there. There's the orchestra sound of drums. There's maybe some Hendrix. So I just want you to clarify what went into your arrangement. Era Pablo you heard a lot. So many strains of the black American experience. Me Bay from the south ahead of bounce being. That is something that I grew up here in all over the streets in New Orleans. I. Picked up the Guitar Midway through with this kind of nod to Jimi. Jimi Hendrix version from. Woodstock The Blues Music which came from sharecroppers and slaves that then evolved into rock and roll and RB. Adding that to the anthem with the classical timpanist and the cello being the counter line to what I was playing on the piano. Gives it this epic quality that I feel? I ask for a deserves. If. They were musicians. What kind of activism would my heroes portray in a moment like this o'hare? And Counter John Lewis. Out Gradually, but we wanted to be free now. mlk My poor little children. Will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of skin but by the content of character, I have a dream. Now, John Is there a particular rendition of the song throughout history that resonates with you. is so many but you have to pick Whitney. You know come on man. Yes. Actually physical as you know Nintendo, less to do these different things as far saying that just a regular video game. Super Mario, brothers. Thirty five, which is going to include thirty five players online battle game that's going to be very interesting to see I'm GonNa maybe delve into that one Super Mario Three d world plus browsers fury, and then on top of that to to add extra. Cuteness a Super Mario Brothers game, and watch which I thought was really Uberpool ripped takes me back to the old days on that one. I mean they just had some great announcements when it concerns the the thirty fifth anniversary of Mario that bundle of Super Mario Brothers. All Stars just with Super Bowl Sunshine Superman sixty four super. Mario Galaxy coming to the switch in a single package. I understand Nintendo making some chunk of change thereby rebuff bundling a lot of the stuff and repackaging lobby stuff. But my gosh or Mario isn't a bad thing I mean was it was cool. I. Liked the the Three D. all star remake. I am really excited about that by one beef with it. Is that why make it a limited release? They're saying you can only get it between September eighteenth and thing March thirty first or something, and then you won't be able to get it anymore. So that was more get it for now. I guess you know if they're doing like going back in the vault type thing but like that just felt feels really weird to me because switch like switch games don't have issues selling like looking at Mario Games, they go on sale. Ten dollars off. That's on a good week so. I. Don't think they'd have any issues. People would continuously by it as for the game itself I am excited I am going to get my preorder in this week I don't like I guess they I would have preferred like a more remastered version of Mario Sixty four because if you look at the video of it, it has the black bars on the side they kind of did A. I guess an up convert much like a a BLU ray player will up convert a A. DVD. So they did that bill excited about super excited about Super Mario Three D world that was one that I wanted to play but just never had the opportunity to S- announced coming back. So that's cool. Really interested not gonNA say excited but interested in that Mario Kart, the kind of augmented reality type thing which is really cool because you're driving the cart and it's creating this track on your screen that you have to follow. It's keeping your car from running into things so. Really Cool. But yeah, a lot of good stuff coming out of that. Well, what are your thoughts more Mario is not a bad thing. So whether or not as the the new Mario Kart that thirty? Online battle Mario the reimagining of the the bundle package that they're putting with all the older Mario Games in there. Yeah it's an attendance way of revisiting that nostalgia and making the chunk of change but we keep buying it. We keep sucking in we keep eating it up. So I just tell you marios one of the favourite characters that I enjoy the to me. That's not such a bad thing at all.

Mitch Trubisky Expected To Start As Chicago Bears Quarterback Over Nick Foles

"Let's start off talking about your pal and my pal super bowl fifty, two hero nick foles and when. The Chicago bears traded for Nick foles over the off season for a fourth round pick we all largely assumed it would be to replace Mitchell trubisky as the team starting quarterback. Otherwise, why do you go out and trade for Nick Foles? Mitch Trubisky is a pretty bad quarterback in the Chicago offense. Last year was pretty dreadful with Mitch Trubisky as signal caller and the two were. They were involved in some kind of quarterback competition this summer in training camp everyone I think myself especially just figured Nick foles would win that job. Well, NFL DOT com reporting that trubisky has beaten out nick foles for the starting quarterback job in Chicago. Remember all that talk about whether the eagles should keep foles or go with Carson wentz. Now, he can't even beat out Mitchell and I love Nick foles this is not me bagging on Nick foles but I'm finding it hard to believe that Nick foles doesn't look better in Camp Than Mitch Trubisky you Mitchell Trubisky is literal. Well, listen to the numbers. Okay. The bears offense averaged seventeen and. A half points per game last year and ranked in the bottom five points per game and in total yards. Okay. Trubisky through for thirty one, hundred, thirty, eight yards, seventeen touchdowns, and ten interceptions. He's a terrible quarterback he looked like he might be improving in two thousand eighteen he played pretty well in the bears playoff loss to the eagles especially at the end of the game when he made some big plays, but he regrets terribly in two thousand nineteen. That's Chicago offense was awful and Trubisky was one of the big reasons why only seventeen touchdowns on the season? There's a reason there's a reason the Chicago bears went out and got nick foles. And Nick foles has a higher ceiling the Mitchell trubisky. You can't tell me what after what we saw Nick Foles do in that playoff run in two thousand seventeen that he doesn't give you a better chance to win. Unless Nick foles arm is falling off for or age has really set in in a big way with Foale's we don't know because we haven't been able to watch any preseason games. So we have no idea what's going on in matinees training camps and what's happening behind the scenes, but it's mind boggling to me that they're going to go with the guy who in Mitchell trubisky you know what he is by this point and you know what Nick foles can do. Both of these guys have a low floor. There's there's no question we've seen nick foles when he's not on play terrible football he's not a good quarterback when he's in one of his slumps but when he's hot. There are few that can match nick foles can do when Mitchell trubisky is hot. It's only slightly better than not. So Great Mitchell trubisky what and we just to think about what Nick Foles did in those two playoff games in the NFC championship game, and then in the Super Bowl to do what he did on that stage and the love that his teammates have for him I just it's a it's a very curious decision by Matt. Nagy and the Chicago bears to go with Mitchell trubisky over nick foles but that's the decision they've made I think. Long Story, Short Nick Foles my prediction will start more games than Mitchell trubisky this year when all is said and done nick foles is probably you're starting quarterback not long after the season begins and my guess is if he stays healthy nick foles starts more games than trubisky this year. Because I know the bears aren't really that smart and I know they they sunk a lot into trubisky drafting him when they did. But at some point, you just got to cut the cord move on I i. We don't know what's been going on in training camp at. Nick foles must've looked really bad in training camp for them to go with trubisky over him.

The Ring Ceremony Party they have like an April every year I mean it's a giant using I was at the Super Bowl. My. On my brother cheese right tackle I was at the Super Bowl postgame party when the chiefs one, they had flow rider and pit bull performed it was unbelievable. "Well welcome to life and Spangler this week we welcome back honey from her super bowl frolicking. Yeah I did not get to the super bowl honey did. Miami was crazy. So when did you find out that you were going? Did you go on behalf of the station, 'cause? You didn't tell me that you were going to be going to the Super Bowl I was not going to super bowl. I was not going. Miami I was going to be watching from my living room like everybody else, but then Pepsi. Will you come down and party with us? Okay? Get some work done and. I'm packing my bags right now. It was so amazing. This is the thing about foam. Oh, which I didn't feel actually felt like really proud, because I was watching you and the twins Lulu Lala at this like neon hotel and I felt like I was actually there with you. Guys that means I, did my job absolutely. If you felt like you with the air with us I definitely did my. My job because that was the point in going just to like. Bring everybody who didn't get to go right into the parties. So, what was it like? What was the vibe when you got there like it was popping from the week before so like? If you don't know what they do for the super bowl the entire week, they do media and press and everybody turned you yes, in their. Concert it was crazy. It Dope I love. Miami but Miami can be very overwhelming when they have these type of event. Hanging with the team. Pepsi I got to do some dope. Stuff got some good parties, nice dinners. Best at what was the best performance that you saw? You know what I was so proud of Fadul really joe performed Saturday Navy lean back. He definitely back. To help them lean my goodness I was just so proud of him. You know he put on a performance and he brought out so many people from New York. He brought out fifty. He brought out Casanovas. With Him Angelica Villa. She's a new art. Is Pap came out? It was dopes I felt like while I'm all the way in Miami, but I feel like I'm in new. York like in Queens. The bronx like everybody was there so I was really proud of Joe I was like. Yeah, he's been around for so long. He's still out here. He's still grinding. He's still relevant. He's still making bread. Listen, that's goals. Yeah, period totally now. Did you get to? Go to the game. No I actually got tickets to the game, but I was super like done. I'm the game came and I'm not really football fan. I'm not afraid to say. I'm not a football fan I didn't go to Miami because it was my teams, or because I watch football every Sunday. Ashley, an Emmy Anthony Day would have gone to super bowl. Really personally. They gotta go to the stadium three hours before the Uber's on driving into the stadium. You can't take a purse or backpack. It's got to be clear down to like a struggle to sound like ungrateful. Just really wasn't my thing so I was like you want. I'll just watch it like if I was back home on TV, even though I didn't want to watch the halftime halftime performance, right? But like to be in the stadium. You don't have to be there to experience. Now with technology and the way that like you feel like you're literally in the stadium..

"Heavy find ways of do I not going out there to keep put out a tweet showing that the niners often do kind of the old school are appeal where the play and there's a single wide receiver the weak side. And there's no help over there. And it's a slant and hit him for a touchdown and so that's also with the matters. Do so if you commit to shooting people to the box they'll just throw that little quick slant route and boom and freak three yards which is so funny we can that for thirty years the NFL now but now's outscored abuse. That's been a part of offense for years. It used to be just a quick slam. Breakfast talked about it he was just quit. Slant or you know a lot of why would you just turn around and catch the ball right right so the matters have built in ways to do that. You commit to me players to the box damning absolutely you. You know it's just a CALC- have solutions. I think it's just have to execute and I think in that. AFC Championship game did a really good job of executing. Yeah I mean the titans to leave plays on the field. It's fair to say but I thought you know they. They didn't really job. And like you know I didn't count. I counted out if they run defense. So you know I. It's a mismatch on paper but I just think given how they played I can't roll up. They're gonNA do a good job against the Steiner's rushing attack. I needed needed underestimate. She's probably foolish at this time because they've really proved the point level last couple of weeks. question marks about the flash four weeks of the year and they played really offenses. What kind of answered Texans were very different times? Offense biometrics and by how they played really well. Sheep's chiefs continued. Show again the different beast and the niners in Seattle Stroz. But I think I think tubing's are wrong about the thank you for the call. This Jimmy at least he needs to be out of here is wild. It does seem weird right. You know cost. Shanahan has trained for this guy gave them a massive contract is used him as number. One quarterback threw the ball a ton and that saints game and then after one interception lost all faith Jimmy. Jean decided to run the ball ninety percent of the time. You're you're running the ball. Because they have Reggie Terry I I am I am you know I'm in the middle with analytics and kind of old school film. Die Right Sir. I think I'm more progressive with the the analytic stuff than most ex players. But even I understand that drivers in half yards a carry. You can run the football for me this whole deal Passover running if that's what you're going to be averaging of course you're gonNA run right. It's not then you'll pass the football but we've seen Jesus here whether it's Niner's game the rams game and whether it's even against the lowly Arizona cardinals and we can the saints game. He's done it all and it's pretty unfathomable. I suppose you know every now. And then there's a bad pick and zone coverage and the chew some sure we'll find a way to make that tough on him but the idea of that he can't do. It is really in story. Yeah I agree. I think that he you know again has his weaknesses. It's not a perfect guy I would. I would be worried if the if the niners get down down fourteen points and he has to throw to catch up. I think it's possible but soon you know Kirk Cousins Ryan Tannehill and I think he's in that kind of tear quarterback and we've seen Nick foles win a super bowl we see uh-huh flakowitz super bowl. You've seen less impressive. quarterbacks win the Super Bowl than Jimmy Garoppolo so let me finish with this Jeff. Obviously not going to ask you for your prediction because you have you have a bias air. You're obviously going to be ready for the chiefs and that's understandable unacceptable. But let me ask you this. What do you think is the most likely path for this DC? Hi Screen Game. DC A low scoring game DC. That she's controlling the ball. What do you see happening? The most likely path this all right so the niners. There's are better position but I like quarterback you might see if everything we granted. I mean probably a wash good tackles and then interior is probably the weaknesses right so I mean it's probably lost. Their everywhere else. Matters are better the way I look at this and she wouldn't when game sprouts like Thirty Thirty Five High School scored twenty four point. Four twenty twenty for twenty three. I don't think the cheese lose. The game is because they're awesome. It's just kind of shuts down. I don't think it's because of your score shootouts. And so that's the way either lands right at twenty four twenty three. It's like thirty eight thirty four. That makes sense and I think you know if you're you know if you're a niners fan I don't think you I issued out so it makes sense to me and if he also comes to mind for you in terms of like any players who feel like aren't getting enough attention. Hi Innovates this game. Who might have a big role? I mean Fred. warners have interesting. Gang running along the sideline. He's he's fast enough. I think you know really contain some of this stuff because you use all those fly sweeps rub game. Yeah absolutely I think one Alexander as well you would figure might might play a bigger role in this game the needed on the first game. So yeah I mean a lot of questions a lot of players who might you know if D. Forty if a quantum Alexander Chris Jones if those guys are one hundred percent or eighty percent or sixty percent. But I mean it's such a fascinating game talk about in a lot of different ways it could go but jeff. "So you know, what surprises me about this the first Super Bowl I ever covered as a television. So I have to play in three of them. And it's amazing because I told my wife, and maybe I'm just kind of a dick. But I told my wife I was like, hey, listen, I'm here to actually like win a game. I'm not this is not a vacation for me. I know you and the kids are gonna come down. It's gonna be great. And now I have to give my wife credit because she she'll play the heavy like, I'm like you deal with the tickets you deal with the people you deal with the west. I don't want. I don't even want to be bothered with that you deal with your parents in my parents, and you know, brother-in-laws and everything else. Right. I don't want any of that stuff. I don't I don't want to answer one of those questions. I don't want. Anybody calling me about any tickets or anything of that nature? So she's awesome. She handled all that stuff. And I just told her, hey, listen, I'll have dinner with you guys. Like you here, I'll have dinner Thursday night and Friday night. And then basically, you're not gonna see me Saturday and also gonna do is hang out with dinner with you guys. On Thursday and Friday the rest time, and I'm preparing to win a football. And this is a business trip. I'll see you guys after we win the game on Sunday. We'll have a great time. But you know, you have to understand what we're here for but the first Super Bowl ever care covered as a member of of ESPN was the Rams in New England, and it was in New Orleans, and Mike I was shocked at the level of just the level of craziness in the city the coverage the radio row, the people who come here to cover this game and all the players from around the league like as a player if I played in the Super Bowl, I went to it. If I didn't get into the playoffs. It didn't make it in the Super Bowl to the Super Bowl. I never even thought about going to a Super Bowl, and you know, and traveling around radio row and try to build my brand. And I'd never went to one. So I was actually literally shocked at the amount of coverage. That was that that surrounds this game is. Like it. There's nothing like it. You've got media from all around the country all around the world. You got serious media. You got not so serious media. You got people that are here to cover football. You've got people here that are cover all the other stuff that goes along with with being here. It's it's football's big event, and Roger Goodell talked about during his press conferences, kind of state of the union if you will. And he said, you know, our league is in great shape. People like our league there. There's very little about our league that that you. You know that people don't like, and I mean, the NFL has some problems, but you like to joke about all the time. It's like they're coding Teflon nothing sticks to them. And I think this year proved it again, so here we are. It's the big it's the big party for the NFL. And yeah, I mean, I it's time to come down. It's time to be seen as the time to promote stuff. It's time to build your brand. So yeah, we did fact your point. Oh, but what you're saying? Can you? You know, clearly there are teams that have gone on to win Super Bowls that you can tell they good week of preparing to play in the Super Bowl. But can you think of many examples of of maybe some of the teams you beat in Super Bowls where you sensed they they're their their approach during the week. You know, dramatically affected them on game day. Yeah. You know? It's it's interesting because you talk to you talk to people who cover those Buffalo Bills teams. And and when I was in Washington, we beat the bills in one of the Super Bowls, but you talked to the people who covered them, and they said, hey, man, like, I'm not saying they didn't work hard. I'm not saying they didn't prepare. I'm not saying they didn't study. But what I'm telling you is that you talked to those folks. And there are a lot of people will say, hey, they were out at I'm not saying they were out partying they were out doing anything wrong..

"I thought actually be a little bit better than that. But fifteen to one to to meet in the Super Bowl I can see once these playoffs. Start charge is gonna end up twelve and four if you really look at the rest of the schedule the teams that have beaten them so far this year the Rams and the chiefs they've taken care of business against everybody else. And I think that continues, and I think they're gonna end up about a twelve and four record. And I think get comply of time. I think there's going to be a little bit of a rallying cry to. Let's get Phil rivers to the Super Bowl. I I really think this team could come together both is going to be back. Very soon. Derwin James is probably going to be winning the defensive rookie of the year award. I think things are looking up for the charges. So that could be an interesting match charges. Rams fifteen to one of that would be fun. I don't. Yeah. Both teams. That'd be something. I don't know. Yeah. I look at San Diego's one of the elite teams, I do think that really good. And like you said they get some play. Back. I would go Pittsburgh. And Rams is that what I said. Yeah. Pittsburgh Rams is nine to once. It's sort of combination. Whatever everyone else did regardless of what they do this week the Rams against the chiefs. I think they have an easier schedule the rest of the way, they still have some easy games in the NFC west. Meanwhile, the saints I know they have the head to head win. But they have the Steelers and twice against the Panthers. So they can get tripped up a couple of times there the the road the NFC championship could go through LA. I think that they're going to Super Bowl in Pittsburgh. Now, all of a sudden has a pass rush and their offense as clicking Steelers. Ben it's like seven different receivers touchdowns. And like guy said bri- he brought it up. Thank you play the chiefs in the playoffs and win that game. They just wanted every year. Maybe the chiefs take care of the patriots could be at three seat. So Pittsburgh and the Rams at nine to one is my pick. What do you say Tate? I like I like that charters picking a lot. That's a team that I've been tinkering with. But I do think the sewers will come out. AFC? And I think it's going to be Steelers Panthers. Still was pants. Oh, yes. We forgot about the path. I like the Panthers. Depends get revenge in New Orleans, and then they go down to New Orleans beat them in the playoffs after losing last year. Wait a minute. Let's see what. Ninety two one. Wow. Taint you should do that you could deal with ninety to one ninety two one. Yeah. That's that's long shot. I'm gonna put that in few. That's my heart though. I bet on the Panthers last time to win the Super Bowl. And we saw what happened. So never again. We saw that game ready. Like how are they going to win that game? I like the matchup another would probably win and then been retire. Yeah. But what would you have to do differently to not lose by seven hundred? I don't know. Maybe not, you know, turn the ball over and thirteen seconds. Let them, you know, get a pick six million other things. Yeah. That was bad. All right. Let's look at the NFL prop specials you could find these online. They're fun props the play with and sometimes we we find winners in their brother Brian start with you your raiders. I know it's very frustrating. I'd say frustrating what the what the art. So it's very frustrating. But what would you say the odds offer? "World series and i'd like amazon is pitching just enough or they take out the red sox and win the world series and then really quickly for for the super bowl i'm gonna go bowl and i'm gonna go and all la super bowl rams against the chargers brands all la that the chargers nine games last year if they had any sort of a kicker they would have won eleven games i love joey bosa i think it's going to be i think he's going to fifteen this year just to get total stud i've always liked philip rivers i've always kind of felt bad that he's never been able to make it through super bowl and i think this is finally the year where the for new england and you know someone takes them up before they get to the super bowl and then in the nfc rams i think they're going to get the number one seed and i think they take out green bay and going to the super bowl and i think the rams take out the charters and win the super bowl i'm i'm not surprised by two picks again you took two certainly reasonable selections and i will give you my two teams probably next hour i'll give you the two teams i'm leaning toward i can guarantee you one of them is not going to be the la chargers most vegas outlets bobottle who i use their numbers all the time have set the over unders in the odds to win divisions and like an charges have gotten a lot of love this off season they really have that they're just as much the favorite to win the west as kansas city us wanted the last couple of years oakland who disappointed last year we could have a bounce back this year denver's kind of in the middle of a rebuild but they went out and got themselves a quarterback case keenum they think can win right away so we'll see about them i it's pretty damn competitive division is there's no for me weaker sister even though denver had a really poor record last year i think they're better than that and they addressed a position of needed quarterback for sure there's no weaker sister in that division san diego's probably the favorite i just don't like him i've been a philip rivers fan his entire career when he's coming at north carolina state i loved them shoot i picked him he was my upset heisman trophy winner prior to the start of his senior season and he gave me a run for my money didn't win but at least it made my pick look okay by the time the year was over and done with so i've been philip pervert fan for a long time i think he's on his last legs i think he's slowing down and he's not the quarterback he used to be i think they are receiving core is solid but not spectacular i'm not sure that the charges are going to be as good as some people are predicting coming into the season i surely i'm not going to have them go into the super bowl i'm not gonna i don't think i'll pick them to win that division which means they're going to have to fight their way in a wildcard for the playoffs and i'm not sure i'm going there either i do like the rams over in the.

"Got a call share with you let me get a call during the break from one of my cousins back home and philadelphian one of my many cousins i come from a very large family one of my cousins passed away this morning very sad to hear the news he's been sick for a long time it's been sick for a while suffered a lot of problems had kidney issues had other issues too but passed away this morning and it's it's weird when you think and i'm i'm thinking of him and it's it's real work because we talked about it sort at the beginning of the show tonight how i said earlier that winning the super bowl that seeing the eagles win the super bowl was like a life changing event for me and i think of my cousin pat who passed away today and i think wow that is a life changing event for lifelong eagles fan in fact his dad used to usher at the old veterans stadium and he would take me to a game once a year i could pick a game and i would go sit in his section and i was allowed to sit on the stairs in his section he's sort of sneak into the building he was an usher there for a long time so the lemon do that i think in my cousin pat tonight though and i'm really glad that he got to see the eagles win the super bowl i was telling you tonight how exciting it was for me and how i consider it sort of life changing i know how much it meant to him to see the eagles win the super bowl so rest in peace to my cousin pat and i.

"I would love to see announcers talk about that in real time during the game is that likely to happen on an embassy broadcast in the super bowl i don't think so i'm unit defends collins worth on the replay reviews although i didn't hear what stephane as describing and i will stipulate that it was probably annoying but during the game so remember back to that calvin benjamin catch a few years ago in which i think everyone agreed that you know he had that there is a dispute about whether he had possession of the ball whether the ball moved in know while he was trying to get his feet in and this was a very similar play here you know they ruled uh the benjamin didn't make the cache they ruled the clement in this game did make the catch um and i think it's totally fair for convert the note the nfl's been like crazy lee incandescently on this rule this year and there's absolutely no way to predict heave because they've used different standards um rightly i sat out on his home was so he was so adamant that it wasn't a catch that and the earth's one wasn't a catch that's what bothered me and that he cannot hammering it after the confetti was fall look if you use was a catch22 if you use but the back to the clinton won if you use the nfl standard from like a month ago than that wasn't a catch now and it's reasonable for it i'm totally i guess i guess what he should have said was like look um the nfl has ruled that plays like this before our in catches they've also been really inconsistent so honestly i don't know what they're gonna say like that i think would have been like the note perfect thing thing for him to say on the arts thing i agree with you but i also feel like back to the point of nfl being inconsistent it would not have shocked me if they ruled that wasn't a catch just because you can't have.

"Uh so so we have to talk about the actual game it was the patriots versus the eagles the patriots are kind of the ultimate over dogged in football and this game as it got toward it had kind of a natural rhythm to it the eagles were had a lot of the time but then in the in the later part of the game the patriots sort of began to to come back and as they do make pushed as they do and then it was coming down to this thing where the eagles were up by five anz with a couple of minutes left and it seemed perfectly set up for tom brady to just charged down the field you have a miraculous touchdown break everybody's heart and accept your cells exactly accept his beautiful wife and children and then ruin just ruin the super bowl for me personally and i and and i should point out ruin this taping because if we were dealing with omarosa condemned the a morning this will be very different podcast but instead with a couple of minutes left as tom brady was attempting to march down the field this happened hey that let stripped zach was the first time i really believe that maybe this is going to happen the home the sound of the super bowl can be summarized by the opening of that clip it a bizarre new ballgame yeah the people i was watching with i think we all blacked out like a similar who knows how to.

"The player said afterwards and that is decided sleep until a check ian wright uh i mean he allow drama to creep into the super bowl week with one of his players on the defensive side of the ball and then took over the team's overall ability to execute because it was a problem in the minutes leading up to the super bowl i mean denny's denny's that is the opposite of do you and i don't i don't get it either i don't get how we could make the decision it feels it felt of sort of like this whole franchise tag rural recur cousins you're making a bad decision just doing it 'cause you're mad yeah and i mean if the patriots had a great defense if they had a dominant front seven it's okay well we can make malcolm butler because it's not gonna come down to one cornerback and maybe wouldn't have come down to malcolm butler he'd struggled all year maybe he would have been bad in this game too and necessarily think that he solve your problems but this is a patriots defence that was 31st and tv away they they were a bad defense this year and we saw it happens in the even in the jacks game play boroughs had a ton of success against annan until the jaguars really gave up and got very conservative with their play calling in the second half and i mean they were not a good match up for the eagles and they did not get pressure on him and they didn't have the horses to to leave one of their better starters on the bench in this is a team that johnson panamos he's a special teams guy he should not be playing regular snapped for you at slot corner uh in in the front seven james harrison who was get down the field for the steelers was cast off by them he played sixty eight a 75 slaps in this game he played over ninety percent of the defense of snaps and he had a play here there but it's not like he should be in every down outside linebacker at his age for your football team uh you had abandoned roberts playing more than fifty five percent of the snaps you had jordan richards who again is they safety who's not much more than special temur who was on the fielding got beat more than once eric.

"Well you're gonna have a very interesting game on sunday because you've got ten years ago you've got a coach whose coaching calvary baptist academy in shreveport louisiana and dr in his voice to school every day and while you got bill bellichik who ten years ago this wa was preparing to play the david tyree super bowl and you know it's such an interesting contrast of a guy like doug peterson he never thought he be here he told me the other day said my whole goal was to be either a position coach or may be at the outside a coordinator and look at him now he's in the super bowl i think it's gonna be fun let's why we love sports through the stories or great they were eric doug doug told us of before the dallas game i think we've sorted talk of of bicycle job and what we think it is salary was like twenty five or thirty five thousand dollars labor supplementing it begins again the alumni down there were we are helping them in a pay the rent or whatever he was doing but i mean to think that he spent four or five years in louisiana and and then and then and then to get to the this game peter with a backup quarterback you know it's funny i was just looking at the history of the super bowl i've done both games with backup quarterback something both won eighty seven when doug williams had taken over during the season uh and beach denver and ninety when simmons gets hurt and hostile ticks over yeah so those are the two super bowls that i remember were you had the backup quarterback coming in to play the game now you just given me my sacked only to the week.

"Many of whom were were equipment guys when i was playing so there were some real familiarity for me during the week and about my preparation and uh and i think that it allowed me to be a little bit more at ease and certainly did on game day and we trust in the home locker room where i had for you sell as well was familiar with the stadium and the surroundings and and and and what that would be like so i think it was uh it was really helpful for me in beat because you like i said earlier you just don't know you know how you will react to the emotion and the adrenalin of the game and uh i i was a little bit surprised to be quite honest with the i'd never never really slept great the night before games but the night before my first super bowl i i slept very well and uh and was pleasantly surprised leading up to the team and in the locker room i was a little bit more at ease and calm than i typically m i usually get wound up pretty good before it deems and and then it was right before uh the game started when that introductions is is when the uh the magnitude of what was before us kinda hit me and really everybody else we were the youngest team it's football at the time and early in that game we did not come out and play very well we couldn't get lined up we couldn't get snapped counts right i was overthrown receivers and and then uh finally we just all settled in and i think to jim's point that at some point in the game and this will be the case for next falls uh this next week that at some point the game will settle in and become like any other game and it's just how quickly can you allow that to happen uh and that's one of the reasons why for me i really enjoy watching the playoff games i specially enjoy watching the super bowls and just seen how not just the quarterbacks but hell although the players in the coaches how they respond to the magnitude of the moment.

"Did you ever be the favourite against the patriots in a super bowl i you but you really think they would go off as a very small favored well i remember located hour period rare quebecker healthy regret managers worth three in the nfl let's call it to an risk close because the cricket third and it would be disbursed differently so wouldn't be fooled minnesota crowd well here's here's an interesting point two i've been a couple of ramses games i our preseason game against dallas there are far more dallas fans in the stadium i went to a a regular season game it seemed like there were as many philadelphia eagles fans if not more than there were rams fans i would argue the coliseum whatever the normal three points is maybe it's a point and a quarter something because their places you go where you can't hear the other posing quarterback can't hear the snap count because it's so loud and then there's the calcium well there's actually more fans for dallas cowboys it's there can be no other place the los angeles at literally has more green jersey up in the crowd when they're playing philly then then rams jersey's world retard years or even worse and if you look at last week i don't know if you saw the raiders reiter forget majority at a fair in that raiders starters guy what is it about la that just such a curse we have two teams transplants were the chargers we have the rams and here's how it goes every other team in the nfl and turns of home home home crowd and then a big gap and then our two teams run in terms of and i get there's a demographic thing and people are transplants and everything else but i think is also the sole reason there's no there's no history ferlov yet answered dr generation has grown up not with these d and their big triumphant comeback to la hasn't exactly been very exciting the rams have a lotta old school rams fans from back in the day in the chargers had a fair amount of fans in la who either transplanted from san diego or picked up san diego sort of the closest team once the rams left but either way look were cursed i get out.
