"And did they put in or right coach who they can build around with with urban Meyer? I mean, is he going to be around for the long haul is I mean, so, Yeah, the Jacksonville Jaguars. Things might look rosy right now. Possibly you, You would be an optimist. I assume if you're Jacksonville Jaguars fan. But historically, yeah. They've been bad and you don't even have to look any further than Tom Coughlin. You have the Com family, which owns the team. They bring in Tom Coughlin based on his success and the turnaround that he help the New York Giants with. I mean, they won two Super Bowl titles, and I guess Tom Coughlin wanted to throw the clock back. Literally. Running practice is just getting the Jaguars and all types of trouble that he's starting rules. It's it damaged the team. Nobody wanted to play there. This was a squad that was close to the Super Bowl and Tom conflict ran everybody out of town with his behavior. And now he's retired for good. Now, I assume I mean, maybe Jacksonville has a little bit of hope. You know, we got a call from Jacksonville. Mattis. Here, Matt you on CBS Sports radio. Do you agree as Jacksonville? Do you trust your own hometown team? I would like to be optimistic. Like you said now with some of the changes that they've made, But for people that I've been in Jacksonville my entire life, so I have watched them evolved from the day we got the team two years later when they played their first game. It's a mic drop this segment. We have taken a quarterback in the first round and made him a wide receiver. We took another quarterback and laid around. And made him a wide receiver. Then icing on the cake was we took a punter in the third round. So I hope that things change right now. But I can see why people are skeptical. And the national pundits are still you know. No, I don't even want to talk about him. And if I'm going to talk about him, it's going to be about tarps or London or whatever. So me, tell me the only silver lining is what shot is doing with the city. Um, but like said nationally, if you're not here, and you don't know the ins and out to the Jaguars, I can completely understand the doubt and going that, you know, it's a joke. Well, tell me how you really feel about Tim Tebow. I think he's a great guy. And in my opinion, I joke all the time and go. If anything, he'll wind up being the team chaplain. Oh, there we go, man, Matt School. Thank you, man for calling out from Jacksonville. Yeah, I guess he's not qualified to, uh, The catch passes. I guess Tim Tebow is not qualified to throw passes. I guess Tim Tebow. He might be the the team chaplain 855 to 12 for CBS. What's a professional sports franchise that you cannot trust Marcus here from Atlanta. Go ahead, Mark. You know, being from Atlanta, man? Uh, Huh? It's hard. It's hard to trash anybody else's. Front office when it comes to football. But Washington Redskins man if their front office smell like earring, backs and as long as as long as Snyder's there They always will. You know, they draft you know they for every chase yo. Dwayne has And The garbage. I want to say garbage, but the way he's handling the situation with renaming the team, he you know every everything he touched, turned to Something, man. So, uh, Yeah, I have to say the Reds games. Okay. Well, thank you. Thank you. Mark for calling from Atlanta. To be honest. I don't think I will ever hear that description ever again. As it relates to a professional sports franchise. If you didn't hear what he said. Said the Washington football team. Formerly yes, the Redskins. The front office, everything having to do with them. Smells like earring backs. And if you've never wore a pair of earrings, I know it's maybe you have no idea. But if you don't take care of your damn hearings, justice, it's not a pleasant smell. I don't think I'll hear that comparison ever again. And yes, I'll just end on this note. Maybe Daniel Snyder. Maybe he just smells like earring backs because I've never met the man. Personally, I have no interest of meeting the man personally, but everything that I've ever read or seen about the man Disgust me. And it doesn't have anything to do just solely with changing the name how he treats his season ticket holders how he has actually sued elderly. Season ticket holders who can no longer afford tickets, how he has treated some of his employees. Disgusting. And I always say this. Unfortunately for Ron Rivera, he's had to come on and just be the mop up, man. At least the product on the field. At least the players have improved. But when you think about the Washington football team in their front office Yeah, I guess they do smell like earring backs. That's not something that I would have originally thought of myself. But I want to thank our last caller for, you know, sharing that. Let's go to Savannah. Let's talk to adults and Dalton. You're on CBS Sports Radio. Yeah, I'm glad you brought up The lion's because what they did to Matthew Stafford, probably as a Georgia fan was horrible. Whoa, whoa, Dalton, I have a question for you. Are you ready? Yeah. Do you live under a pineapple under the sea? Every once in a while. It sounds it sounds like you live in a pineapple under the sea, like, or are you? Are you in Savannah? Are you with SpongeBob? He is in the seat next to me. How about that? We'll go ahead quickly. Your connection sounds better. Give me give me.

"I mean, I think the only one I might make for you. And is that Roger hairs around? Yeah. I mean, I would just say that like given given the injury history of mixing the concerns on the offensive line And the uncertainty around Borough. Um You know that there are more concerns than you would like. Or running back that you're going to have to pick among the top 10 of the position? Yep, Night. That's fair. I think that is fair. And another player who is going to be an interesting one to pick pegged this year is David Montgomery. Both Eric Caribou. And I have an R B 17 the most optimistic, Matthew. You're actually the least optimistic you haven't running back 24. So what would be your rationale behind him as our B 24 a little bit lower than the contentious I think you guys are crazy, Um, having that high here's the thing. I'm David Montgomery. So David McCartney was a monster down the stretch. There's a guy that was, you know, literally the the fourth best running back in fantasy last year, the sixth best on a point the game next, so So he was fantastic. He was the number one running back in fantasy over the final six games. So you look at those final six games. Where he just had an incredible schedule like I think his fantasy success was due in large part to three things. Schedule. Right. Sixth of Montgomery had seven different games with 20 or more fantasy points. Six then came against teams that were bottom six in terms of most fantasy points allowed, uh, to opposing running backs so easy schedule. Volume. And increased usage in the passing game. But you just got like You got insane Volume, like he averaged over. 20 touches a game last year, which is the most among running backs. Well, you get three Cohen back early. And if you look at What the numbers were with three cone before he got hurt, Um, in terms of tart, you know, Montgomery's target share obviously increased. So is Montgomery as involved in the passing game with a healthy to re Cohen, um, and with the addition of Damien Williams Then you add those two guys. They you know, David looms a good running back. And Williams a good run day Maria named William should have been mdb in the Super Bowl two years ago, then Williams good running back solid running back. And so, um, I'm not sitting here saying you got to go out and draft Damian Williams or even treat Cohen. Do. I think both guys get enough run to hurt the value of David Montgomery. I do both in the passing game and just in terms of overall volume when you think about the schedule, and you know, I don't think they have as easier schedule here so Lack of volume lack of schedule. I think he's going to be the head of a three headed running back by committee and I just don't think that's a top 20 guy to me. Yeah. Yeah. So I guess a couple things first. I want to give a shout out to our friend. You know her tits from, uh, pro football fall because I believe you would, you know, and and Ian were down at the CIA recently together. Is that correct? Yeah. I met him for the first time in doubts. Very funny. Very smart, fantasy guy. Obviously hard fantasy guy like him a lot, and one thing. He talks about it, And I mean, and I don't think he was intending this to be a counterpoint to you, but he's noted how like For all the conversation about how David Montgomery benefited from a soft schedule down the stretch. Nobody is bringing that up when they're talking about Jonathan Taylor is a potential year to break out when the Colts by the way, resigned Marlon back And might give money to 19 behind on the extension, Right? No, no one's bringing up how soft his schedule was. And no one's bringing up how soft Derrick Henry schedule is down the stretch, and Henry is a different category just because he's Derrick Henry, and he's got much, much more proof in the pudding. But I do think Matthew that David Montgomery is running down the stretch last year. And still enough confidence in him to be the player that the Bears we all know, traded up for two draft two seasons ago, and even when times were tough during his rookie year in 2000 and 19, and I know the Target share was low for David Montgomery. I really believe the Bears have long desired for him to be their workhorse back, So I'm just maybe I'm drinking the Kool Aid too much, but I think he's going to maintain enough of this job, and certainly three color will get his. But as we know, he virtually operates as a wide receiver in this offense, and I'm just not scared enough of Damien Williams to fall too much lower than David Montgomery in this ranking. No. Go ahead. Yeah, I was gonna say it's like I hear everything you're saying, Um But You know to me? I think the fact that the fact that we may be wrong on Jonathan Taylor is not a reason to auto you know, to auto correct on David Montgomery. I think Jonathan Dale is a better player than Dave Montgomery. Just you know, from the eye test personally. I I'll just say that I think Jonathan Taylor is a better player. I think Frank writes to better play, uh, play caller and offensive minded coach then what Matt Nagy has shown so far in Chicago. I like the offensive line in Indianapolis more than I like the offensive line in, uh, in Chicago. And you know what I mean? We'll see if Justin Field starts. But, um, I just I have more confidence in the Colts being in scoring position, but I think the the, you know, Hey, you know, pump the brakes a little bit on Jonathan Taylor. I think that's a fair criticism. Um, I'm not sitting here carping for Jonathan Taylor. I think I'm pretty much industry average, if not slightly lower on Taylor than most. Um, but I know Montgomery. I just I feel like there's just there's two greatest sample size of him not being dominant to draft them, you know, to draft him that high Pittsburgh is kids, Berg. McVay in Better Mood, Says He's Better Coach With Stafford

"Story will bring back in. Involves these relationships in the nfl between coaching quarterback that we've talked about several times when you have that you know you got something special when the coach and the quarterback are on the same page when they kind of have that unity. You saw what. What tom brady. And bruce arians able to do right away You obviously see what you have in kansas. City greg's andy. Reid patrick mahomes these. These duos are very important. We thought maybe. Sean mcvay jared goff where we're going to be that power couple. They did get to a super bowl but then things broke up pretty quickly there. And sean mcvay is this guy that clearly is the excitable one out of the two right is that goes without saying so mcveigh. There's a there's a known confidence where it when he walks into a room noah's field presence but he's got a great humility about himself at. Everybody loves being around him and he's one of those guys that is it true igniter makes everybody around him better. I feel like i can come up better. "The Maison with Kevin Nation. If you plan on going car shopping right now, you may want to hold off used cars, new cars, doesn't matter. It's a horrible place to shop for cars, right now, for two reasons. Number one, the pandemic people who have money have been sitting on it for over a year. So as they start getting back to normal, they want to go out and buy a car and again, doesn't matter whether its own new car or used car. They just want to go out and buy a vehicle. So, of course, what's happened? Prices have gone up. Used car prices overall up 30%. Now if you do want to buy a used car, a used Super Bowl or sports car. High-end car is the best way to go because those prices haven't risen as much. If you're looking to buy a new car, we may just even have a problem finding one because of covid-19 computer chips or a shortage right now. In fact, that's not only for cars, it's for laptops to. You're going to have a hard time finding those for a while as well car shopping right now. Not something. I would do something to avoid if you can help it. Of course, some people won't be able to and well, good luck wage.

"Let's talk about justin fields. What do you remember about giving him the test. This quarterback from ohio state. So there's a few things that stood out And i'm so glad that that They've they've granted permission. I think that's great because honestly his scores. I think there's something to very proud of You know the first thing that stands out as his scores are very consistent in parallel with a couple of league. mvp's and super bowl winners of recent late so he has a profile that matches some of that performance that we've seen member you're asking earlier about you know trends. And so she's consistent with some of the people who who are trending very high right now in the league And the other thing that was exceptional was that He had no identified weaknesses like all of his scores were either Average above average or superior that's really noticeable because most people have at least one or two weaknesses somewhere he He had no weaknesses in his profile. Which i thought was really impressive from a cognitive standpoint and then the thing that i think was most impressive was there's there's an area called efficiency. Which is your ability to download information and then recall it leaner. And that's the test that he feeling out meaning he got a perfect score on it.

How Eminem Helped Save Detroit

"The year is two thousand eleven. The event super bowl forty-five the pittsburgh steelers versus the green bay packers. Aaron rodgers was mvp. Christina aguilera sang the national anthem. The black eyed peas performed the halftime show in truly fergus. Fashion it was peak. Two thousand ten's in every way but the biggest moment of the event was an epic two minute commercial titled born of fire better known by its catchphrase imported from detroit as marshall eminem. Mathers drives a chrysler. Two hundred through darkly lit detroit streets and an instrumental version of his song. Lose yourself plays in the background. A gritty male voice growls. What does a town. That's been to hell and back know about the finer things in life will. I'll tell you more than most you see. It's the hottest fires that make the hardest steel and hard work and conviction and the know how that runs generations deep in every last one of us that we. That's our story now. It's probably not the one you've been reading in the papers. The one being written by folks who've never even pin here don't know what we're capable of marshall. Eminem mathers parks chrysler outside. Detroit's fox theater inside a black choir. Ads their voices to the music from the stage as marshall walks down the isle onstage. The rapper turns the cameron. Says this is the motor city and this is what we do. The what we do was clear. Detroit has always been the center of american car manufacturing. But how did the city get to the point of needing a super bowl ad to sell itself. What was the helen. Back referenced in the ad and what was the story written in the papers. It was false then. Was there a true version. Ready to be uncovered

Ultimate Sibling Rivalry in Sports

"Okay. Sure we all know that. Playing professional sports is hard but playing professional sports against your brother or your sister. Well that's even harder today. We're talking about some of the. Most famous sibling sets in sports history label. You can't talk about popular sibling athletes without mentioning peyton. And eli manning. Two of the best. Nfl quarterbacks to ever play the game. Although there now retired they were both named super bowl. Mvp and are both predicted to be inducted into the pro football hall of fame. While peyton is commonly thought of as the better talent ee lie has an additional super bowl championship to hold over his big brother's head so that might make family dinners a little bit awkward holdovers from clean competitive football dog in this fight but when it comes to famous sports sisters. No one can compare with tennis superstars. Venus and serena williams the to have had an intense rivalry for decades in two thousand seventeen serena beat venus in the australian open and made history as the first woman to win twenty three grand slam titles combined the sisters have thirty grand slam singles titles and nine olympic medals. Is Urban Meyer Taking a Gamble With Tebow?

"The biggest story in the nfl right now. is tim. Tebow and the jacksonville. Jaguars on friday afternoon. The jaguars sign boat to a one year. Nine hundred fifty thousand dollar minimum deal as a tight end. His jersey makes up the top five selling items on the nfl shop dot com store. Now figure that out and to me urban meyer's really running the risk of losing his locker room here because if you talk to people inside the league if you talk to executives and other coaches there's a lot of genuine skepticism over urban meyer becoming. Nfl head coach generally. And there's a sense that it's four more likely that he flames out and never wins a playoff game than it is that he winds up winning a super bowl when this experiment bringing in tim tebow not necessarily even as a quarterback you have trevor lawrence. They're bringing tim tebow into that locker room in two thousand and twenty one and having him sing for his supper is a tight end. There's a belief that meyer runs the chance inside the league of losing his locker room before this season even begins

It was not you know the size that it was today and he was splitting his time between atlanta new york city. But what i realized was that i was i was coming in there. Initially because i thought the ted was this god-like figure and that it was an interesting brand and it was really really exciting. But i understood it pretty quickly that it was not what i wanted to do. I didn't wanna do the type of sales and business development that i was ending up working on and but that didn't mean while i was there that i wasn't going to do a great job and i think that that's something that i you know really really when eventually a when you look back on things and you connect the dots. I think that putting all that you've got into an organization and knowing that you have got a time line versus actually burning out on the job right and knowing that that's something that is That really you can take with you at all times that you knew it wasn't going to be the place. I not only learned a lot about sales and some of the other things that i was taught there but i also learned about culture. The culture at time for example was very. You know blood an ivy league versus what i was seeing from ted turner who you know very much the the organization was you know very much to him and which i think is so typical inside of companies to where you know his swearing his his suit and his cowboy boots. I had even growing up in arizona. Had never seen such thing. But things. But i think that it's just it really speaks to no experience along. The way is a waste of time right. That's another thing that i say to people. Sometimes people would say to me always should never have stayed at that job for so long instead of actually thinking about what you've done wrong figure out what the lessons you learned from matt and also understand. Maybe what you'll take with you. I mean we ended up doing a super bowl ad few years ago. That was super last minute. And i think that a lot of the things that i learned from being at cnn helped me to negotiate that deal. Right i didn't know it when i was sitting there that we would have. I would eventually be running a company and doing a super bowl ad. But i knew enough about trafficking and add through and waiting until the last minute and people thinking you know that it's going to be one price but it will discount really fast the closer and closer you get to the super bowl so all of these tactics team was saying. How do you know this stuff. I mean and i said you know. It's all part of my journey somewhere along the way so there's lots of lessons in that chapter as well. you know. this is this just in because this isn't in the book but you just triggered a thought in in me that you just said you know i think so often you know when we're on our journeys we don't we don't think about that where we're at is going to contribute to something in our future and the truth of the matter is if we could if we could appreciate where we are at even if you're not real happy with where you're at that you could see it as being something that is going to contribute to something even greater. Yeah right i mean it could make the it could make it. I mean because that's what you that's what you just did absolutely jobs always said. It's like the dots eventually connect right right but when you're in and you go through challenging time you don't y- i'll give you another example. That's not in the book when the pandemic hit the us which you know. I about as last march and It was you know it was a really challenging time. You were an essential product so

Kansas City Chiefs Trade for Baltimore Ravens Tackle Orlando Brown

"In the NFL is the trade between the Kansas City Chiefs in the Baltimore Ravens. So Kansas City. I'm sure you saw on the Super Bowl. Is very deficient at offensive line. And this off season, they have been doing a pretty complete and massive overhaul of their offensive line. From the A F C championship game. Super Bowl. The Kansas City Chiefs are going to have five new offensive lineman. Their entire starting offensive line is going to be different than it was last season. We don't gotta get into the nitty gritty of it, but I am really surprised. That the Baltimore Ravens Would help the Kansas City Chiefs. If you are the Ravens And you are making a list. Of your biggest competitors in the A. F. C. Isn't Kansas City at the top of the list. If you're Baltimore And You're doing your due diligence, So you know your strengths and weaknesses. And also in the opposition. You know Kansas cities as well. They do not have a left tackle. They also selected 31. 31 is not where you're going to find your day one starter at that position. You could find day one starters at 31. A lot of other positions, but you're not finding it. At left tackle. Well,

Did the Pandemic Kill the Oscars?

"There is a lot of pre anguish about. What's going to happen during the academy awards and the conventional wisdom is that the audience will not show up and maybe we'll be half of what was last year. Maybe less than that people are talking about. Ten million people watching. It'd be an time low by fifty percent or more first of all eliza. Are you paying attention to this. Sort of industries. Fears about the telecast itself leaving aside the movies is this something that's on your mind. Yeah i mean it has been for years. The viewership has been dropping for years On all live tv events even the super bowl which typically is the one that pulls in viewers is dropping. So there's been a lot of hand wringing in a lot of attempts to re engineer this the show in ways that will get people to watch it because they're interested like they tried to introduce a best popular picture category. That didn't really get off the ground thinking that people were gonna watch that happy years ago. Right that's back to lord of the rings time no it. Two years ago they expanded the category. That was that was the chance to give laura chance to get an award and it was largely because the dark knight didn't manage to get nominated for best picture so they know they expanded that to give it ten slots that was an attempt to do the same thing in that was ten years ago. So now we're in a position where people still aren't watching. They realized that like host don't really bring people in presenters. Don't really bring people in the movies themselves. Don't really bring people in. And i keep thinking i can't imagine why anyone would watch it live. I don't watch anything live anymore. You can watch the good stuff the next day or just watch it. Go by on twitter and watch whatever it is. You would rather be seeing on netflix or something. So you know this year's awards shows have been really really low in viewership. And i would not be surprised if the oscars are the same way although they are trying to intrigue us to make us feel like this might be different. Maybe it'll be worth watching people also arguably had the chance to watch all the best picture nominees this year in a way that they didn't in the past since they've all been digital so there is a chance that more people might be interested in those movies but i think we'll still see a drop off and in my view if they really are worried about viewership for the oscars they're just going to have to rethink the whole

"Well welcome to life and Spangler this week we welcome back honey from her super bowl frolicking. Yeah I did not get to the super bowl honey did. Miami was crazy. So when did you find out that you were going? Did you go on behalf of the station, 'cause? You didn't tell me that you were going to be going to the Super Bowl I was not going to super bowl. I was not going. Miami I was going to be watching from my living room like everybody else, but then Pepsi. Will you come down and party with us? Okay? Get some work done and. I'm packing my bags right now. It was so amazing. This is the thing about foam. Oh, which I didn't feel actually felt like really proud, because I was watching you and the twins Lulu Lala at this like neon hotel and I felt like I was actually there with you. Guys that means I, did my job absolutely. If you felt like you with the air with us I definitely did my. My job because that was the point in going just to like. Bring everybody who didn't get to go right into the parties. So, what was it like? What was the vibe when you got there like it was popping from the week before so like? If you don't know what they do for the super bowl the entire week, they do media and press and everybody turned you yes, in their. Concert it was crazy. It Dope I love. Miami but Miami can be very overwhelming when they have these type of event. Hanging with the team. Pepsi I got to do some dope. Stuff got some good parties, nice dinners. Best at what was the best performance that you saw? You know what I was so proud of Fadul really joe performed Saturday Navy lean back. He definitely back. To help them lean my goodness I was just so proud of him. You know he put on a performance and he brought out so many people from New York. He brought out fifty. He brought out Casanovas. With Him Angelica Villa. She's a new art. Is Pap came out? It was dopes I felt like while I'm all the way in Miami, but I feel like I'm in new. York like in Queens. The bronx like everybody was there so I was really proud of Joe I was like. Yeah, he's been around for so long. He's still out here. He's still grinding. He's still relevant. He's still making bread. Listen, that's goals. Yeah, period totally now. Did you get to? Go to the game. No I actually got tickets to the game, but I was super like done. I'm the game came and I'm not really football fan. I'm not afraid to say. I'm not a football fan I didn't go to Miami because it was my teams, or because I watch football every Sunday. Ashley, an Emmy Anthony Day would have gone to super bowl. Really personally. They gotta go to the stadium three hours before the Uber's on driving into the stadium. You can't take a purse or backpack. It's got to be clear down to like a struggle to sound like ungrateful. Just really wasn't my thing so I was like you want. I'll just watch it like if I was back home on TV, even though I didn't want to watch the halftime halftime performance, right? But like to be in the stadium. You don't have to be there to experience. Now with technology and the way that like you feel like you're literally in the stadium..

"Heavy find ways of do I not going out there to keep put out a tweet showing that the niners often do kind of the old school are appeal where the play and there's a single wide receiver the weak side. And there's no help over there. And it's a slant and hit him for a touchdown and so that's also with the matters. Do so if you commit to shooting people to the box they'll just throw that little quick slant route and boom and freak three yards which is so funny we can that for thirty years the NFL now but now's outscored abuse. That's been a part of offense for years. It used to be just a quick slam. Breakfast talked about it he was just quit. Slant or you know a lot of why would you just turn around and catch the ball right right so the matters have built in ways to do that. You commit to me players to the box damning absolutely you. You know it's just a CALC- have solutions. I think it's just have to execute and I think in that. AFC Championship game did a really good job of executing. Yeah I mean the titans to leave plays on the field. It's fair to say but I thought you know they. They didn't really job. And like you know I didn't count. I counted out if they run defense. So you know I. It's a mismatch on paper but I just think given how they played I can't roll up. They're gonNA do a good job against the Steiner's rushing attack. I needed needed underestimate. She's probably foolish at this time because they've really proved the point level last couple of weeks. question marks about the flash four weeks of the year and they played really offenses. What kind of answered Texans were very different times? Offense biometrics and by how they played really well. Sheep's chiefs continued. Show again the different beast and the niners in Seattle Stroz. But I think I think tubing's are wrong about the thank you for the call. This Jimmy at least he needs to be out of here is wild. It does seem weird right. You know cost. Shanahan has trained for this guy gave them a massive contract is used him as number. One quarterback threw the ball a ton and that saints game and then after one interception lost all faith Jimmy. Jean decided to run the ball ninety percent of the time. You're you're running the ball. Because they have Reggie Terry I I am I am you know I'm in the middle with analytics and kind of old school film. Die Right Sir. I think I'm more progressive with the the analytic stuff than most ex players. But even I understand that drivers in half yards a carry. You can run the football for me this whole deal Passover running if that's what you're going to be averaging of course you're gonNA run right. It's not then you'll pass the football but we've seen Jesus here whether it's Niner's game the rams game and whether it's even against the lowly Arizona cardinals and we can the saints game. He's done it all and it's pretty unfathomable. I suppose you know every now. And then there's a bad pick and zone coverage and the chew some sure we'll find a way to make that tough on him but the idea of that he can't do. It is really in story. Yeah I agree. I think that he you know again has his weaknesses. It's not a perfect guy I would. I would be worried if the if the niners get down down fourteen points and he has to throw to catch up. I think it's possible but soon you know Kirk Cousins Ryan Tannehill and I think he's in that kind of tear quarterback and we've seen Nick foles win a super bowl we see uh-huh flakowitz super bowl. You've seen less impressive. quarterbacks win the Super Bowl than Jimmy Garoppolo so let me finish with this Jeff. Obviously not going to ask you for your prediction because you have you have a bias air. You're obviously going to be ready for the chiefs and that's understandable unacceptable. But let me ask you this. What do you think is the most likely path for this DC? Hi Screen Game. DC A low scoring game DC. That she's controlling the ball. What do you see happening? The most likely path this all right so the niners. There's are better position but I like quarterback you might see if everything we granted. I mean probably a wash good tackles and then interior is probably the weaknesses right so I mean it's probably lost. Their everywhere else. Matters are better the way I look at this and she wouldn't when game sprouts like Thirty Thirty Five High School scored twenty four point. Four twenty twenty for twenty three. I don't think the cheese lose. The game is because they're awesome. It's just kind of shuts down. I don't think it's because of your score shootouts. And so that's the way either lands right at twenty four twenty three. It's like thirty eight thirty four. That makes sense and I think you know if you're you know if you're a niners fan I don't think you I issued out so it makes sense to me and if he also comes to mind for you in terms of like any players who feel like aren't getting enough attention. Hi Innovates this game. Who might have a big role? I mean Fred. warners have interesting. Gang running along the sideline. He's he's fast enough. I think you know really contain some of this stuff because you use all those fly sweeps rub game. Yeah absolutely I think one Alexander as well you would figure might might play a bigger role in this game the needed on the first game. So yeah I mean a lot of questions a lot of players who might you know if D. Forty if a quantum Alexander Chris Jones if those guys are one hundred percent or eighty percent or sixty percent. "So you know, what surprises me about this the first Super Bowl I ever covered as a television. So I have to play in three of them. And it's amazing because I told my wife, and maybe I'm just kind of a dick. But I told my wife I was like, hey, listen, I'm here to actually like win a game. I'm not this is not a vacation for me. I know you and the kids are gonna come down. It's gonna be great. And now I have to give my wife credit because she she'll play the heavy like, I'm like you deal with the tickets you deal with the people you deal with the west. I don't want. I don't even want to be bothered with that you deal with your parents in my parents, and you know, brother-in-laws and everything else. Right. I don't want any of that stuff. I don't I don't want to answer one of those questions. I don't want. Anybody calling me about any tickets or anything of that nature? So she's awesome. She handled all that stuff. And I just told her, hey, listen, I'll have dinner with you guys. Like you here, I'll have dinner Thursday night and Friday night. And then basically, you're not gonna see me Saturday and also gonna do is hang out with dinner with you guys. On Thursday and Friday the rest time, and I'm preparing to win a football. And this is a business trip. I'll see you guys after we win the game on Sunday. We'll have a great time. But you know, you have to understand what we're here for but the first Super Bowl ever care covered as a member of of ESPN was the Rams in New England, and it was in New Orleans, and Mike I was shocked at the level of just the level of craziness in the city the coverage the radio row, the people who come here to cover this game and all the players from around the league like as a player if I played in the Super Bowl, I went to it. If I didn't get into the playoffs. It didn't make it in the Super Bowl to the Super Bowl. I never even thought about going to a Super Bowl, and you know, and traveling around radio row and try to build my brand. And I'd never went to one. So I was actually literally shocked at the amount of coverage. That was that that surrounds this game is. Like it. There's nothing like it. You've got media from all around the country all around the world. You got serious media. You got not so serious media. You got people that are here to cover football. You've got people here that are cover all the other stuff that goes along with with being here. It's it's football's big event, and Roger Goodell talked about during his press conferences, kind of state of the union if you will. And he said, you know, our league is in great shape. People like our league there. There's very little about our league that that you. You know that people don't like, and I mean, the NFL has some problems, but you like to joke about all the time. It's like they're coding Teflon nothing sticks to them. And I think this year proved it again, so here we are. It's the big it's the big party for the NFL. And yeah, I mean, I it's time to come down. It's time to be seen as the time to promote stuff. It's time to build your brand. So yeah, we did fact your point. Oh, but what you're saying? Can you? You know, clearly there are teams that have gone on to win Super Bowls that you can tell they good week of preparing to play in the Super Bowl. But can you think of many examples of of maybe some of the teams you beat in Super Bowls where you sensed they they're their their approach during the week. You know, dramatically affected them on game day. Yeah. You know? It's it's interesting because you talk to you talk to people who cover those Buffalo Bills teams. And and when I was in Washington, we beat the bills in one of the Super Bowls, but you talked to the people who covered them, and they said, hey, man, like, I'm not saying they didn't work hard. I'm not saying they didn't prepare. I'm not saying they didn't study. But what I'm telling you is that you talked to those folks. And there are a lot of people will say, hey, they were out at I'm not saying they were out partying they were out doing anything wrong..

"I thought actually be a little bit better than that. But fifteen to one to to meet in the Super Bowl I can see once these playoffs. Start charge is gonna end up twelve and four if you really look at the rest of the schedule the teams that have beaten them so far this year the Rams and the chiefs they've taken care of business against everybody else. And I think that continues, and I think they're gonna end up about a twelve and four record. And I think get comply of time. I think there's going to be a little bit of a rallying cry to. Let's get Phil rivers to the Super Bowl. I I really think this team could come together both is going to be back. Very soon. Derwin James is probably going to be winning the defensive rookie of the year award. I think things are looking up for the charges. So that could be an interesting match charges. Rams fifteen to one of that would be fun. I don't. Yeah. Both teams. That'd be something. I don't know. Yeah. I look at San Diego's one of the elite teams, I do think that really good. And like you said they get some play. Back. I would go Pittsburgh. And Rams is that what I said. Yeah. Pittsburgh Rams is nine to once. It's sort of combination. Whatever everyone else did regardless of what they do this week the Rams against the chiefs. I think they have an easier schedule the rest of the way, they still have some easy games in the NFC west. Meanwhile, the saints I know they have the head to head win. But they have the Steelers and twice against the Panthers. So they can get tripped up a couple of times there the the road the NFC championship could go through LA. I think that they're going to Super Bowl in Pittsburgh. Now, all of a sudden has a pass rush and their offense as clicking Steelers. Ben it's like seven different receivers touchdowns. And like guy said bri- he brought it up. Thank you play the chiefs in the playoffs and win that game. They just wanted every year. Maybe the chiefs take care of the patriots could be at three seat. So Pittsburgh and the Rams at nine to one is my pick. What do you say Tate? I like I like that charters picking a lot. That's a team that I've been tinkering with. But I do think the sewers will come out. AFC? And I think it's going to be Steelers Panthers. Still was pants. Oh, yes. We forgot about the path. I like the Panthers. Depends get revenge in New Orleans, and then they go down to New Orleans beat them in the playoffs after losing last year. Wait a minute. Let's see what. Ninety two one. Wow. Taint you should do that you could deal with ninety to one ninety two one. Yeah. That's that's long shot. I'm gonna put that in few. That's my heart though. I bet on the Panthers last time to win the Super Bowl. And we saw what happened. So never again. We saw that game ready. Like how are they going to win that game? I like the matchup another would probably win and then been retire. Yeah. But what would you have to do differently to not lose by seven hundred? I don't know. Maybe not, you know, turn the ball over and thirteen seconds. Let them, you know, get a pick six million other things. Yeah. That was bad. All right. Let's look at the NFL prop specials you could find these online. They're fun props the play with and sometimes we we find winners in their brother Brian start with you your raiders. I know it's very frustrating. I'd say frustrating what the what the art. So it's very frustrating. But what would you say the odds offer? "Each he has a breakdown of the trailer and uh point out some stuff that you might have not noticed up bend what is your favorite thing for me cheese piece um i think just the the idea that this trailer focus is a little bit more on the human element um the characters and characters that we haven't really seen in previous marketing rapes balls character um he plays a corporate hack named uije mills um and then toby jones who we we assume is gonna be playing a villain because it's toby jones and that's basically what he does um so there's like some interesting stuff in there about he knows this possibly the equivalent of like weapons escalation are they going to be like militarising the dinosaurs what what is what is the end game here and hd sort of speculate a little bit about that so check that out in her full peace okay so now for our final trailer in this is the most surprising the probably the most talkedabout one coming out of the super bowl i think in that is for the cloverfield paradox the third film in the clinical field franchise which was supposed to come out from paramount um uh you know i think they've had four release dates now but is now coming out from net flakes it was announced during the super bowl that it would be on net flakes immediately following the super bowl which is a gamechanger of a of a move like we've never seen a you know e movie trailer announcement announced the movie in be online that night.

"I would love to see announcers talk about that in real time during the game is that likely to happen on an embassy broadcast in the super bowl i don't think so i'm unit defends collins worth on the replay reviews although i didn't hear what stephane as describing and i will stipulate that it was probably annoying but during the game so remember back to that calvin benjamin catch a few years ago in which i think everyone agreed that you know he had that there is a dispute about whether he had possession of the ball whether the ball moved in know while he was trying to get his feet in and this was a very similar play here you know they ruled uh the benjamin didn't make the cache they ruled the clement in this game did make the catch um and i think it's totally fair for convert the note the nfl's been like crazy lee incandescently on this rule this year and there's absolutely no way to predict heave because they've used different standards um rightly i sat out on his home was so he was so adamant that it wasn't a catch that and the earth's one wasn't a catch that's what bothered me and that he cannot hammering it after the confetti was fall look if you use was a catch22 if you use but the back to the clinton won if you use the nfl standard from like a month ago than that wasn't a catch now and it's reasonable for it i'm totally i guess i guess what he should have said was like look um the nfl has ruled that plays like this before our in catches they've also been really inconsistent so honestly i don't know what they're gonna say like that i think would have been like the note perfect thing thing for him to say on the arts thing i agree with you but i also feel like back to the point of nfl being inconsistent it would not have shocked me if they ruled that wasn't a catch just because you can't have.

"Not just confusion but there's also a comfort level malcolm butler played almost ninety percent of the snaps during the regular season and was healthy yesterday and was healthy yesterday so it that wasn't issue the other players also react to that as well there's an emotional component where when someone you've been playing with for a long time suddenly is benched usda i'm sure they didn't understand all the reasons why either that that plays into it of course in a twenty five year old kids they're emotional i did it and this is a one of the most emotional moments may be the most emotional moment that they'll face in their live so you want it lives so that you want that comfortably you want them relax you want to bring down the tension as opposed to heightened attention i can say this malcolm butler needs to clean this up he's going to become a free agent and every team that interviews i'm gonna want to know what happened shields she he get his story out he you you're going to have to because you're not talking about on offense of coach you're talking about our ably one of the best defensive coaches if not the best defensive coach in history the nfl decides not to play you before the super bowl i wanna know if i'm bringing you in is a free agent will happen what happened yeah okay let's talk about this i don't like secondguessing coaches it's one of my leastfavourite things guys like me sportscasters do i didn't see the tape i don't know your injuries i don't know your patterns but there are some macro themes if you have a great quarterback your defense is struggling i believe eu go into game saying fell as we know the matchups they're gonna move the football on us if we get to a fourth in one of the red zone early i may go for it so late in the game five minutes to go philadelphia's like we're going fourteam call timeout eric that decision was made before the game like we're going to be aggressive new england had a goal line situation eric early in the second quarter fourth in one now they miss the field goal so it's easy for me to jump on and pylon but i got the mvp i'm moving the football i trust my offensive line situationally were the best him in football in a decade.

"The player said afterwards and that is decided sleep until a check ian wright uh i mean he allow drama to creep into the super bowl week with one of his players on the defensive side of the ball and then took over the team's overall ability to execute because it was a problem in the minutes leading up to the super bowl i mean denny's denny's that is the opposite of do you and i don't i don't get it either i don't get how we could make the decision it feels it felt of sort of like this whole franchise tag rural recur cousins you're making a bad decision just doing it 'cause you're mad yeah and i mean if the patriots had a great defense if they had a dominant front seven it's okay well we can make malcolm butler because it's not gonna come down to one cornerback and maybe wouldn't have come down to malcolm butler he'd struggled all year maybe he would have been bad in this game too and necessarily think that he solve your problems but this is a patriots defence that was 31st and tv away they they were a bad defense this year and we saw it happens in the even in the jacks game play boroughs had a ton of success against annan until the jaguars really gave up and got very conservative with their play calling in the second half and i mean they were not a good match up for the eagles and they did not get pressure on him and they didn't have the horses to to leave one of their better starters on the bench in this is a team that johnson panamos he's a special teams guy he should not be playing regular snapped for you at slot corner uh in in the front seven james harrison who was get down the field for the steelers was cast off by them he played sixty eight a 75 slaps in this game he played over ninety percent of the defense of snaps and he had a play here there but it's not like he should be in every down outside linebacker at his age for your football team uh you had abandoned roberts playing more than fifty five percent of the snaps you had jordan richards who again is they safety who's not much more than special temur who was on the fielding got beat more than once eric.

"Many of whom were were equipment guys when i was playing so there were some real familiarity for me during the week and about my preparation and uh and i think that it allowed me to be a little bit more at ease and certainly did on game day and we trust in the home locker room where i had for you sell as well was familiar with the stadium and the surroundings and and and and what that would be like so i think it was uh it was really helpful for me in beat because you like i said earlier you just don't know you know how you will react to the emotion and the adrenalin of the game and uh i i was a little bit surprised to be quite honest with the i'd never never really slept great the night before games but the night before my first super bowl i i slept very well and uh and was pleasantly surprised leading up to the team and in the locker room i was a little bit more at ease and calm than i typically m i usually get wound up pretty good before it deems and and then it was right before uh the game started when that introductions is is when the uh the magnitude of what was before us kinda hit me and really everybody else we were the youngest team it's football at the time and early in that game we did not come out and play very well we couldn't get lined up we couldn't get snapped counts right i was overthrown receivers and and then uh finally we just all settled in and i think to jim's point that at some point in the game and this will be the case for next falls uh this next week that at some point the game will settle in and become like any other game and it's just how quickly can you allow that to happen uh and that's one of the reasons why for me i really enjoy watching the playoff games i specially enjoy watching the super bowls and just seen how not just the quarterbacks but hell although the players in the coaches how they respond to the magnitude of the moment.

"Did you ever be the favourite against the patriots in a super bowl i you but you really think they would go off as a very small favored well i remember located hour period rare quebecker healthy regret managers worth three in the nfl let's call it to an risk close because the cricket third and it would be disbursed differently so wouldn't be fooled minnesota crowd well here's here's an interesting point two i've been a couple of ramses games i our preseason game against dallas there are far more dallas fans in the stadium i went to a a regular season game it seemed like there were as many philadelphia eagles fans if not more than there were rams fans i would argue the coliseum whatever the normal three points is maybe it's a point and a quarter something because their places you go where you can't hear the other posing quarterback can't hear the snap count because it's so loud and then there's the calcium well there's actually more fans for dallas cowboys it's there can be no other place the los angeles at literally has more green jersey up in the crowd when they're playing philly then then rams jersey's world retard years or even worse and if you look at last week i don't know if you saw the raiders reiter forget majority at a fair in that raiders starters guy what is it about la that just such a curse we have two teams transplants were the chargers we have the rams and here's how it goes every other team in the nfl and turns of home home home crowd and then a big gap and then our two teams run in terms of and i get there's a demographic thing and people are transplants and everything else but i think is also the sole reason there's no there's no history ferlov yet answered dr generation has grown up not with these d and their big triumphant comeback to la hasn't exactly been very exciting the rams have a lotta old school rams fans from back in the day in the chargers had a fair amount of fans in la who either transplanted from san diego or picked up san diego sort of the closest team once the rams left but either way look were cursed i get out.
