"Nothing wrong with that In the third quarter of this year, the home ownership rate in Austin, Texas, in the Metro It skyrocketed to 74.7%. This, according to a report released my Texas A and M's Real Estate center. That's the highest rates since the U. S. Census Bureau about home ownership in Austin first became available back in 96. Yeah, for the first for the second quarter of the year. Austin's homeownership rate student 65.9% so almost Ah, 10% jump. In a very short period of time. Low interest rates and people are buying those homes for the very first time. You know, in the third quarter a 2019 it was only 60% the homeownership rate. It's amazing through this pandemic, everything that suffered yet we're having these kinds of numbers with home ownership, and it's Zsa such a great indicator that ultimately we're gonna be okay. Now. The real estate center notes that Austin's homeownership rate is the highest among the states for major four major Metro's for the past 12 years In September, home sales in Austin jumped 31.5% compared to the same time a year ago, and according to the board of Realtors, that's That's the reason all these mortgage companies in these these things, title companies were so busy. Austin's economy is bouncing back better than most cities, allowing more people to make a move to a home that meets their needs. That's what viikii, O'Grady said on Austin, regional director for the housing data provider Zonda talking about the board of Realtors issue there and released in October. Well, this is great news, no doubt about it. Certainly the best investment you could make and certainly good for your network. That's for sure. But I guess this says it all my all of our screaming and moaning about Austin's homeless situation and and prop a and and taxes and everything about this city that we complain and moan about. Must just not be having any negative effect whatsoever. Jim Gaines is with to amuse, really State center. He's the chief economist there. Any warns that home ownership rates in Austin and all across the state could slide next year is the pandemic era protections against home foreclosures that's going to expire so that could be part of the reason why the numbers so high People haven't been kicked out of their homes for not paying their mortgages. Yet during this pandemic, that could be the reason for the the elevation because some people are still buying. But some people are not being evicted for not paying their bills. We'll see for the time being, although Dallas and Fort Worth or Rob, basking in a record high home ownership rates and DFW the homeownership right is about 69%. That's That's really good for, you know, a big city like that made while home ownership rights in San Antonio barely budged to report shows. The rate went from 66% to 66.3% there in the San Antonio area. Also up a little bit in the Houston area as well, Right jump in here at 512836059. Well, good news. I mean today, but you're right. Maybe maybe these numbers they're gonna make a little bit more sense. Once we're through the pandemic, and we study you know, Theo, the The reality of it Now we talked about a little bit of this kind of stuff with Chris Waters, the broker owner of Waters International Realty, Know Live Facebook Post last month talking about the investment opportunities out there. If there is a wave of, you know foreclosures, there could be a wave of investment opportunities for some folks, you know. All right. I mean, there could be an increased dramatic increase in the number of renters we have in this city might be. Yeah, I'm being 512836059 to get a full report of that. It's in Austin culture map story, and I shared it might linked in page at Todd. Jeff. Interesting now. Hey, you were at a restaurant last night. Where is this? Where did you go? It's the docks. "I not only share their progressive values of things that we fought so hard for over the years, but doing that in a way that will allow independence and those orphaned Republicans who are just so strange by their party today, they don't even. Recognize the Texas Republicans today to be able to say, you know what? We want comb out of the chaos. And I think I have an appeal to those folks ask voters here who they plan to support in the election, and you'll be lucky to find someone who knows the names of the candidates just read at night before last. No, Don don't Ted Cruz. I'm sorry. That's the Senate. Gosh, do you know the congressional district? You're in twenty one one. Do you know who the person who represents you now is in congress? It's a Lamar Smith. And do you know who's running to replace him? No. Oh, who came through. Not sure. Again, it's chip ROY on the Republican side and Joseph cops are on the democratic side dig a little deeper. And it sounds like these voters already have their minds made up that was Aaron bird running on a trail along the Colorado river in Austin, you can hear his music through his headphones. He says, he's voting for Democrats up and down the ballot in November because he's dissatisfied with the direction. President Trump has taken the country. Well, I mean, I think it all starts with two girls and a wife and super vocal and just how he treats women. I, you know, I think it's just having someone who represents us in a dignified manner. Another voter walking nearby is Laura Hubbard. She says she too will be voting all blue because Democrats aligned with her values, namely having people that we can trust and what they say is believable. Honesty, transparency, giving all people voice south west of Austin voters outside the sunset valley market fair, have different motivations. Cheryl Pollak says she is always voted Republican, and this congressional race is no exception. She's a big Trump supporter and wants to do whatever she can to support his agenda. I like how he's reaching out to all the different leaders. I like I love the trade wars. I think that's going to be okay. It's gonna be. It's shaking things up a bit shaking up the status quo. And then actually it will probably come back to be very good in the end. But everybody's so scared. But I think just a little bit of faith and a little bit of trust and a lot of support Arado Gonzalez also voted for Trump into. Two thousand sixteen, he's a Republican, but when he thinks about the midterms, he's not sure what to do. He says he's thinking about voting for Democrats because he's sick of Trump always changing his mind about the issues jazz because he changed the mine every time. He say something today, change something different next minute. As you can hear this race, like many around the country isn't necessarily about the candidates, but the parties they represent political scientists. Sean the'real says that means cops fate could rest on how well Senate candidate Beto aerobic does turning out voters the batter that you see baiter work, the better you're going to see cops doing. I think that they could drive each other's turn out numbers in the district. And that's definitely in a plate of both of their strength. Their cut from very similar cloth like when you hear them speak, they, they don't sound like like some of these other candidates that are getting the national headlines and and because of their strident liberal positions. But rather they seem like common sense. Problem solving Democrats, which I think is why what a democrat has to do in the state in order to be competitive. The way districts have been redrawn in recent years could also help Democrats like cops her. Now we're sitting here at the Mexican American cultural heritage center in Austin, are we actually in the district our district? We're in the right, but my suspicion is that you can see at least two other districts because we're just from where we're because we're really close. So there are how many districts in Austin are. There are four districts that kind of have have fingers into Austin various parts. Okay..

"He's not looking to make headlines is looking to make sure that he d take care of constituents. The Republican running to replace Lamar Smith. Chip ROY is a former federal prosecutor who used to work for Ted Cruz. I suspect the politics, the chip, ROY would practice if he were the member from this district when be that much different from the Marsh myth. I mean, I, I don't think there they're two peas in pod, but I don't think that they're that dissimilar from each other cheap. ROY doesn't actually live in the twenty first district. And his opponents often point that out Ted Cruz endorsed him and said, if he wins, ROY will be one of the leading conservatives in congress still in this race, he's got to be careful about being tied to closely to President Trump. Here. He is on k. a. n. TV. Of course, I've described the president on certain Paul. But I think you've got gotta look at the overall package and say, is the president leading and give the president a room to lead? And I think a lot of people in congress, including Senator Cruz and others are giving the president, the room to step out and lead and drive forward. And we're seeing the benefit out over the last sixteen months. ROY will face off against democrat who used to be a Republican. He's an army veteran who served in Iraq and a tech entrepreneur. He's also got a name that doesn't roll right off the time. What about Joseph cost per Cup, cops. Cops are just right. You honestly casper, but you on your mouth months? Cops. Her, so. Okay. So tell me about Joseph cop, cops, sir? Yeah. So he's one of these Democrats that that is a little bit atypical of the Democrats who've been hearing a lot about and the ones that have been garnering headlines and winning some of these nomination fights because he would be very much kind of in this race. If this were two years ago or four years ago or eight years ago, because he's pretty moderate democrat, he knows how to solve problems. He has the veterans pedigree, and so he appeals to to the voters that he's going to need to attract in order for him to pull out this race cops or is trying to fire up the very same Democrats that Betto aerobic hopes will turn out for him. I not only share their progressive values of things that we fought so hard for over the years, but doing that in a way that will allow independence and those orphaned Republicans who are just so strange by their party today, they don't even. Recognize the Texas Republicans today to be able to say, you know what? We want comb out of the chaos. "No we don't know what the name was of the person who addressed to again fbi fbi officials refused to answer that question at the briefing that they held shortwhile ago it has been widely reported that it was addressed to austin that it was headed to austin we do know however that we're told by we're told by police in a town called sunset valley which is actually kind of in austin it's a separate town within austin that the package was sent from a fedex office there so the fbi's at that office they've closed it down cordoned off they're searching for evidence there and then there is also another fec specifically in austin out by our airport that was closed down in a vacuum earlier this morning reports of a suspicious package there but it it has also been reported that the package originally went through that facility so police and fbi agents are also searching that facility now after the first bombing there was speculation that the attacks could be racially motivated but at this point the victims have been black hispanic and white what we know about that that's right yeah police at first after the first victim was killed on march second police sort of thought that this was an isolated incident but then of course there were two more packages that exploded last week and so the victims in those first three explosions were black and hispanic and so the the explosions that happened on sunday in a different part of town those two victims who were injured were white so at this point police thought they weren't ruling out a hate crime but now they're not so sure the one on sunday was much more random than the ones in the past.
