"So LeBron became the all time scorer in the history of the NBA incredible last night, the 38 year run. Of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the leading scorer in the history of the association came to an end last night with Kareem there and the Lakers rolling it all out, his family was there and it was quite a moment. Yeah, it was. And I think it was obvious that it was a moment that led to the Lakers, potentially having a letdown in the game for Oklahoma City, winning that game, but I think the fact that there's even a conversation today as to whether LeBron is the greatest scorer in the history of the NBA still, even with him having the all time record. How's that going? Is kind of just open while you're not on Twitter anymore. You're the rich guys. Just because he had the record? Kind of, I would. Really? Yeah. I mean, you weren't alive when you watched when he was playing. So, I mean, if you score the most points, you heard the greatest score. I don't know about that. What's your definition? Michael Jordan has the highest points per game average in NBA history. To me, that's the greatest score in the league. He scores the most every game. All right, well I like Christmas. I agree with that. I think it is. And this is an MJ LeBron thing. I'm just kind of looking at it. No, you just made it that. That's the same thing as tray lines. Look, I'm not taking anything away from the eagles, but I just called their NFC championship game when I'm not a real weapon. Well, scoring the most points. Not a real game. It's also a credit to both Kareem and LeBron's longevity. Of course. Points per game is what you do when the game's played me. How about this? How about this, then if you want to not have an argument in my estimation, even though we just had an argument in a way or a conversation about him not being the greatest scorer ever, since he is the greatest scorer ever, and he's going to put up 40,000 points when it's all said and done, that more than I just was sitting there last night watching him, you know, be with his beautiful family and seeing him, you know, after the game, there was a video of brawny showing him his phone. Showing his dad, here's the moment where you broke Kareem's record and all I could sit there and think of was being on a SportsCenter set years ago coming on after one of his high school games was broadcast on ESPN. And him being on the cover of Sports Illustrated as the next chosen one. Junior as a high school player and having him discussed as one of the best basketball players on the planet potentially before even being drafted. And talking about him on SportsCenter back in the day when I was in my early 30s and here I am a 53 year old man that he's the greatest scorer in the history of the NBA that he is maybe you can say arguably, but I will just come out and say out of the maybe I'll remove them maybe screw it. He's the greatest player to live up to the hype in the history of players living up to the hut. All of sports. He guess. Yeah. Tiger tigers, the only one in that world. I guess that's the only one that would give me pause to throw them maybe in there because LeBron I'm talking about his high school. Games being on ESPN and Tiger showed up as a three year old sinking putts for Bob Hope on the Mike Douglas show. Which again, I know I'm dating myself, but see he was as a three year old kid out there, but nothing beats the spotlight of SportsCenter being thrown on you. And Tiger had the same thing thrown on him. And but LeBron also didn't have any Thanksgiving moments, you know? He has been just from start to finish, one of the greatest, if not the greatest livers up to the hype. Ever. Ever, ever. And you're never on TMZ, never doing anything but the right thing. Even just no injuries. Nothing really has derailed. This is your two. Is beautiful family? You know? They're celebrating his moment. It was cool. In front of Kareem. It was actually a lot cooler than I thought it was gonna be. Really? We all watched together. Yeah, we all got caught up and I guess what we started the conversation with, which is like, is he the greatest score of all time? Here's Jordan. There's Kobe, there's Bill Russell about the greatest winner of all time. And who's this? And who's that? But just in terms of kid having high school games aired live on ESPN, drafted by of all teams his hometown team. And the hype that he had to live up to, by the way, when Kobe was at his zenith and when others were, you know, who he has since passed on the way to passing Kareem being not only active, but all time greats. I mean, wearing Jordan's number to start. I mean, all of it. You got to give it up. It's very Tom Brady, too, when you just talk about longevity. Guys started their career after him and retired before him. Yes. And he's just still going. He's still at the height. If the Lakers had a better record, he'd be in the MVP conversation. Like he's really having a phenomenal year outside of this. Yes. That's kind of been looming over the whole season. And you know, I was just sitting there thinking of that last night. It's another one of those sports moments where I sit around and I think of Stuart Scott and wonder what he would say and what he would think, you know, as LeBron passes, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, I mean, again, he's gonna have 40,000 points. He may have afforded more. He can have 42,000 points when it's all said. You may cut this so 5 years left you would think. Right, well, he did say after AT&T said afterwards, he wants to play at least a couple more years. Did you think he was going to go hook shot? 'cause we got skyhook. Well, it's a record. It's kind of interesting just to linger on the moment itself. Because there's a still photograph that's gone viral. And we have it. And this is a moment that I think could be a painting and you can hang it in a museum. And then the Louvre, because here he is shooting his shot, and there's a couple things about this that is amazing. First of all, you want to talk about a 21st century moment. Everybody has their phones out. And they're watching the moment through their phones with the exception of is you could see at the very bottom right of your screen, the richest man in the arena by far. Phil knight of Nike is sitting there with his hands in his lap like, okay, I don't need to take this. The Bryson brownie, which is so cool. I don't know. It's truly unreal of him just sitting there with his hands in his lap and pretty much everyone else has their phones out. And then another, I guess, 21st century moment is Thomas Bryant. Number 31 at the bottom of your screen of the photograph, calling for the ball. He's posting up SGA. Like, hey, I'm open. And this reminds me of the old Adam Sandler bit about Wilt Chamberlain breaking the record of most points scored in the game is 100.9. Adam Sandler's joke is, you know, wilt is got 96 points 98 points. Time out. They go to the huddle and one of his teammates looks at Wilton and goes, hey, wilt.

"Our heretofore undisclosed competitive value. How about that? How about that? I still can't believe it. It's great. You know what? He's got to be, he's got to be sitting there thinking, I'm glad I did that. Knowing that Chris brockman's acumen is now finally matching my gravitas. Higher. Or something like that. We're 18 11 and one overall. What's happening? I mean, come on. What's going on? Well, it couldn't be as bad as he was last year, so he flipped it. I was crushing it. I finished strong last year. I've been carrying this for about a whole season. Yeah. All right, look. Chargers have all kinds of trouble, okay? They've got Keenan Allen out, Mike Williams out, echo is going to be questionable. Just take the falcons at home and feel good about it. How much is it? I think it's falcons win the game, so that's why I'm going to take the three points. Okay. No, Jonathan Taylor and a rookie quarterback going against Bill Belichick on the road. Okay, give me the Patriots by all of the points. And it's not just any team, too. They kind of don't like the cults do they. Kind of don't like to call it. They want to put it on them. Some stuff a few years ago. Something happened? It's something happened, something happened. Like my record, it's inflated. Carolina, Cincinnati. A lot of points in this game. We saw a PJ walker could do last week on the road in Atlanta and Cincinnati. They really need to bounce back in the worst way, so I expect a lot of points in this game can be over the 42 and a half. And I think Seattle wins the game outright in Arizona to move at 6 and three, which is a complete opposite of what they said they were going to be coming into the year when I had them 32 out of 32 and first on the clock. Kenneth walker the third is my war and savior at this point in the fantasy season. Give me the Seahawks to win the game outright. If you want to do a nice little money line underdog partway, I like falcons. I like Seahawks, take it and feel good about it. We're going for no. I mean, so the falcons are leading their division. The Chargers are banged up. Yeah. The Seahawks are leading their division and both the falcons and the Seahawks. Are getting points. Correct. I might have understand that. You are understanding that correctly. Am I reading it? By the way, I think both drops from tyreek hill that we now have from his second hour appearance work, including you got both of them. There you go. Thank you, Tariq. And then the other one is respect is real. Yeah, the disrespect is real. He also got this too. Don't love the iber flu this week. Stay away. Why? Oh, I thought you meant. In the game on Sunday. It's Miami's coming in. Stay away from that. We've now have Ashton Kutcher and Joe mantegna doing the eberflus. We do. We color might not know that dropping. I see it. I don't know if I trust it. Go ahead, trust me. That's okay. Why would you not trust it? Because he's still too full. I never know. You could hit something and suddenly we're playing an only fans account. Roku Joe's over here scratching his head right now. I was the same. We're not doing that. I'll stop it. We need an eyes. No, we don't. Yeah, why not? I don't know what you're talking about. Sir, subscription based service. I could talk to you. I told you, Stuart Scott now we said we wanted to do a pay per view sports center. We could do whatever we wanted. You'd be living on

"You're here on the rich eisen show. What's up Spencer? Hey, rich, hey, everybody. How is it going to happen Friday? What's going on? First of all, huge fan, you are the best sportscaster in the business. Since I first got into sports, I've been following along with you and Stuart Scott, thank you rest in peace. Oh gosh. And so let me ask you, I got to answer, I got to ask Spencer to interrupt your very complimentary way to start this conversation. How old are you? Spencer? I am turning 29 next month. Oh my gosh. So you were essentially getting ready to go to nursery school when Stuart and I started going together, right? I mean, on TV and doing our thing. Nursery school and then you would go to grade school and watch the rears before hopping on the bus or something like that. Is that what you were doing? Yeah, I believe a booyah was my first word, rich. I will take that, sir. I will take that. So what's on your mind today? What's on your mind? So you guys started the show talking about Kyler Murray. Yes, your honor. How they removed that whole mandatory study slash chore clause from his contract. And looking at their schedule knowing that Hopkins is out for the first 6 games, they have the second toughest strength of schedule. I think their opponent went percentage that they're playing this year like is 500 plus. I think they're only second to the rams. And they're in a tough division, Spencer, you know, obviously you're going to have two against the defending world champs, and you're going to have two against the team that almost beat the defending world champs in their building in the NFC championship game. So that's a tough one right there. Just to start. If you look at the first three weeks of their schedule, it is rough seas. So I feel like with the first week of trading camp officially over, I think it's time for you to make your prediction on Arizona. Record. Well, how about I let you do that, Spencer? How about you do it? You're such a tough guy. You grew up, you grew up watching Stuart and I, you want to do it? You want to do it, you do it. Let's go. You want to do it. All right, get in, how about that? I'm going to walk you through it. Don't worry about not being prepared. Here we go. I'm just throwing I'm just throwing your little lord Charles curveball here. This wasn't ready for this. Here we go. All right, Spencer, your first up. Home against Kansas and chiefs. What happens? Winter loss. Oh, that is a loss. All right. All right, that's a loss. You can call me rich, don't worry about it. You're not 5 anymore. Week two at the Vegas raiders winter loss. What do you got? That is also a lot. Now they start owing to good lord. We need independent study time. That's what we'll be talking about, home for the rams. That is also a lot. Could you imagine they start on with three? At Carolina, what do you got for me? Oh, they're going to win by 30. He's even given us a final score. Home for Philadelphia. That is a win as well. All right, then they're at Seattle with a chance to get back to 500 and Spencer's world. What do you got? I have them winning that one. There are three and three going to a short week, the saints are visiting on Thursday night, Amazon, Al, and everyone is there. What about you? What do you got? Short week. Everybody's there. I say that's a loss. That's a loss. At the Minnesota Vikings. That is going to be a W all right, they're four and four now going into their home date with Seattle. They sweep Seattle. They do sweep the air. All right, then they're at the rams do they win the get swept by the rams that they shock everybody and win in so far. They get swept by the end. Then their home well, then they play San Francisco in Mexico City on a Monday night week 11. What do they do there? Viva victory. That is a W and then they play the Los Angeles chargers at home before a buy, what do you got? That is a loss. All right, then they're home for a Monday night or against the New England Patriots, what happens? Excuse me, I love you, but that's a win for the car. That's a win. At the Denver Broncos back off my wife Spencer. What do you got? What do you got? I have them, I have them winning against the Broncos. All right, then they're home for the bucks and Tom Brady, what happens? That is a loss and then they're at the falcons. What happens? They win. Then they finish up at the San Francisco forty-niners. What happens? They end with a lot. All right, so that's three, three and three, three and four, four and four, 5, and four, 5 and 5. 6 and 6, 7 and 6, 8 and 6, 8 and 7. 97, 9 and 8. From Florida. Spencer, thanks for the call. Appreciate it. Well, well done. Thank you. Greatly appreciate it. There you go. There you go. 9 and 8. That's a pedestrian season out of the Arizona Cardinals.

"Perfect. It feels like my favorite birthday party. Pass that to you. All right, so now this is for you. Okay, this is exactly what I needed today. And this is some good ice cream too. It is. I hope so. I don't know. If it's coming out of the budget, it's great. All right. We're honored. You want the chocolate sauce too? Yes, let's do some chocolate sauce. So I guess I should say this. I feel like I've been telling stories and I'd like to be talking with you instead of just telling you, but I'll do it anyway. Here you go. Thank you so much. Perfect for me to tell you this while I'm scooping out or perfect. Do you want some ice cream, Chris? Yeah, I'll come get some after. Mike you too and TJ, I don't want to leave you. You want some ice cream, you guys? Okay, very good. Love it ice cream. I just will say this. It's wild to me that your dad is remembered as a groundbreaker, an iconoclast, a legend. And I'm saying that because I had a front row seat to the way it all started. And I was there quite a bit when your dad felt anything but Stewart Scott felt anything but in real time. As a groundbreaker and an iconoclast, he was literally just being himself. And this is the message I would give to anybody is that you just keep believing in yourself. You keep believing in yourself and who you are and how you're going about it. And let the chips fall. And I think if we had told him back in the day, from 96 to O three, when I was there and I was doing sports and rear debt, if I was telling him, hey, you know, one day, you were going to be remembered as the guy who broke ground and absolutely reinvented the way a lot of people did our job. And you will be remembered that forever. And people there will be legions of people who would be wanting to be you and their imitators of you, essentially. If I told him that, he would have two answers. One of them would just get out here. And the other two would have been damn straight. He'd have been like damn straight, that's how I'm going to be remembered. And that's not why he was doing it. That's not the motivation for doing while he's doing it. The motivation is you just having fun and he wanted to be successful in his competitive. But he would be like damn straight. I would be, but also he'd be just like get out of here because there were times where he wasn't made to feel that way. And so that is one of the tales I like to tell about Stuart Scott, your dad, is that so many people don't believe in what they're told, no, or they're told you're not doing it right or you're not doing it a certain way. And. Pay no attention to that. You know? And he would be, I'm sure you know this anyway too. I'll probably the latest person to say he was so proud of you both. That is true. That is definitely what I can relate to most being, you know, mid 20s. I can't relate to my father's success at all. Because it doesn't even make sense to me, but I can relate to just doing what you do. And loving it, and failing at it over and over and constantly being getting criticism for it. And knowing that whether you succeed or fail or whether you're producer likes you best or like someone else best, it really is about he had a conviction that there was the way there was a way that news could be told that would reach people. Yeah. And so he was willing to kind of sacrifice whether or not he got some plaque. I definitely, that is the most inspiring thing is to be like, find what is worth working for. Yeah. And keep your head down about it. And so I feel like that, I love the idea that he could be like absolutely. That would be me. People, I'm going to have an impact. Yeah. But it comes from that conviction in knowing that his work was worthwhile. Yep. I remember because a lot of times, you know, growing up, he would he would tell us. He would be like, I worked so hard. I was driven. I, you know, I put in every ounce of myself into this, but I was also lucky. You know, he also was in the right place at the right time at some point to get this opportunity. And so to work with me, you're saying, or she was like, it all boils down right here. Yeah, I'm sorry. That was the iron rich thing. Exactly. No, but I have front row seat for that, Sydney. I had a front row seat for all of that. Yeah. Yeah. I really, really did. And he worked his ass off. He really did. But then there would be times where he kind of felt down about it. And it was really odd to see because he was up about absolutely everything. Did you say to him? What did I say to him? Sometimes I would tell him in all honesty, just like, what do you care? And then he would kind of give me that look saying, yeah, but you come with a different set of tools, resources, or upbringing, or basically your white guy. I'm not going to lie. I mean, that was the sort of thing. And then he would just do like a deaf poetry jam lead in any way. And that was it. Do it anyway. You know what I mean? He would do it anyway. Exactly. And then he would get frustrated. I'll tell this one last week. I'm going through my greatest hits with his daughter's crazy. As you should. One time we do, we go to a commercial break, and I just done a line from the latest Seinfeld episode. Going to break. And so everyone in the floor laughs. And. We're off camera, and he turns to me, he goes, what was that? And I'm like, what do you mean, what was that? And he goes, what was that? And I'm like, that was the latest line from something. And he goes. And I'm like, what was that? And he goes, brothers don't watch time. And what he was telling me is like, so I'm doing this lyric. I'm making this reference. And I'm the one who's coming across as outside the norm. But what you just did is kind of outside the norm too. And nobody bats an eyelash about what you're doing. Yep. That's basically what I took from that conversation.

"How can we continue to embody that and move in that spirit? Yeah. Exactly. Exactly. So that's the hope that we have for everyone is go out, have some ice cream and enjoy time with your Friends, family. And then if you get a chance, definitely donate to the organization on the Stuart Scott cancer memorial research fund. I would definitely like to say that that is something that has given me so much hope. Since my father's passing because I am not a scientist and it does seem very bleak to look at the future of medicine and not have an answer. I really have been so encouraged by meeting different V scholars, scientists who have been grant recipients from my father's organization because they really do have the step by step process of even though this is difficult now. It is not as difficult as it was 5 years ago. What people went through 5 years ago, that is paid forward, like our father was very adamant about participating in clinical trials. And he said, you know, even if this does not save me, it's not just my life that's on the line here. It's that there needs to be life going forward after me. And that is something that I empty touched by and that when they're seems like there is nothing to go forward for. That is something. And that's at V foundation dot org, is that how people can find the portal and it is the Stuart Scott cancer memorial research fund. I think there's a little tag. There's a link. There's a link right there. You got some names you want to throw up. I did. I did want to thank melody Smith. She's a doctor. She's a V fun scholar. Jasmine McDonald is a grant recipient as well. And professor olapa, I had the wonderful opportunity to meet her and her family, her husband is also a doctor. And her whole family, they very much are pro encouraging people to know more about their medical profile. What will I face? What did my family members face? All of these things, I hadn't had a concrete way of thinking, you know, cancer is this destructive thing. It's always going to be destructive. And she, her work about how looking for genetic and non genetic markers of tumors and proclivities, those are the things that I'm not the smart one doing it, but there is someone who is dedicating every day to making sure that in ten years, people can be diagnosed with appendiceal cancer, and they can get more than 7 years after that. Yep. Yeah. The foundation dot org and make sure that the Stuart Scott memorial fund is well funded. Liz, let's bring it in here. Okay. So here we go. We have scoops. Okay. Oh my God. We've been good. What did we do to deserve this? I know. We've got vanilla and chocolate. You want a little bit of both? Yes. Okay. And we even got a scooper. All right, let's do it. You stay there, I got it. Okay. This is nice. Okay, we've got the whipped cream chocolate sauce on top. You know how to throw an ice cream on it? Exactly. This is all we'll start off our day. It's been out. It'll be easy for me to scoop. I'm sorry, I'm getting a big portions here. No, perfect. Don't ever apologize. We've been good. All right, do you guys want whipped cream too? Do you want to talk about it? I'm not good with all the chocolate sauce, but I you know I love chocolate. All right, so here we go. Here's just one with one with whipped cream. Perfect. Perfect. It feels like my favorite birthday party. Pass that to you. All right, so now this is for you. Okay, this is exactly what I needed today. And this is some good ice cream too. It is. I hope so. "You know, ironhead, you had Scott case, you had man, it was, you could just go on and on and on about all of those guys. And I mean, you had Mike Ken who was 21 years in the lead. And then what was his name? The linebacker who was 21 years and then we play Matthews. Of course. Unbelievable man. What a journey. It was unbelievable. What a journey and I just remember my tag team partner from SportsCenter Stuart Scott loved you Goldberg. Loved you. Absolutely. I mean, I'd love Stewart from the I mean, from the first time I met him and all the charitable stuff that we did together and you guys, hey, you remember Larry Burnett, right? Of course. I want to know that tie with you guys. Oh, that's my brother in law. I had no idea. Literally, I had no idea. Obviously, Stewart loved you, talked about you all the time. On occasion, may or may not have humble bragged a little bit about knowing you and hanging out with you. And I always try to bring his name up. He's been gone for way longer than I could even have imagined. So I kind of like bringing him up every now and then when I know somebody has a tie to him and a significant one, just like you. Well, I'll tell you, I'll tell you what, Stuart, I mean, not only what an unbelievable human being and everything that he stood for. He's one of those guys that you just bring up his name and you can't but smile. No matter what the situation, no matter quite obviously I would absolutely do anything on this plan to have him here with us. But the fact that he's not and that you've mentioned his name in the first thing that comes to my mind is just a big smile. He made such a big impact on every person that he met. True. And I just can't say enough good things about him. Hey man, congratulations on biography WWE legends. The undertaker and Kurt Angle are just a couple of.

"Just saying, we're here. All right, let's take some calls while we're in the waiting in the zoom waiting room. They don't give you your music. You know what I mean? Like a magazine that you just get magazine. Do you know what I mean? And you stare at the screen, you stare at the screen and you're like, do they know what? Do they know I'm there? They're just staring. You bring the doorbell again. But shouldn't you be able to do that? That's what my kids, when they're, you know, when they're home and Sue's is still in the car and so she's got the key and the kids just keep ringing the doorbell. And then you just want to open the door and say, we don't want any. What do you want? Says father of the year. Oh, this guy is no doubt a proud papa as well. We saw Gary Payton the second get a community service award last night, and we hope to see him back on the court in these NBA Finals pro basketball Hall of Famer here courtesy of Hennessy is the great Gary Payton or on the Mercedes Benz van phone line. I am mandated to start this interview as Stuart Scott always used to refer to him GP, are you with me? How you guys doing? How are you, Gary Payton? That was always Stewart's line for you whenever I was doing where it's sitting next to him and he was doing your highlights. GPR, you with me. That's what you always say. Yeah, that was my guy, man. I used to enjoy him very much, you know? So, you know, he may, you know, he got that from Frank Frank Kirkland. I mean, you know, was the same Kirk frankel? Frank. Frankly, yeah. So he got there for me, so that was a good line to bring it up. You know, he was always good at making some stuff up and making it stick. He always did, I know that and he loved your game too. Most of America. So let's get into it, Gary Payton. What did you think of game one of the NBA Finals last night and what the Celtics were able to pull off in that fourth quarter? Well, the bad fourth quarter by the go say worse. They give them 40 points in that thing, no defense, a lot of turnovers and it was just faster. They gave up a game. They gave they gave up a game. So I think they're going to have to go in and get an adjustment of what they're going to do. Golden State has been doing that all year of turning the basketball over. And in these finals, we can turn a box about over possessions, especially if a team deal with Boston did. They made shots. They made big shots all the way down smart, white, and even Hartford. They all made big shots and then brown penetrating and doing the things he didn't make in shots and when you have your star and Tatum's struggling and the other guy step up and the other team is turning the ball over and you know and then they're scoring. That is just a big that's just a disaster and Golden State got that and that fourth quarter and it got him along. Well, I mean, the sound bite that's kind of stuck, certainly it resonated with us on this show. We played it about ten minutes ago in our opening segment is draymond green reading off the stat sheet of Derek white and jaylen Brown and Al Horford saying they went 15 to 23 from three and basically said odds are they're not going to do that again. So we'll be fine. Do you agree with that? Approach? Gary? Well, that's a good that's dream on green. He's doing his thing. We don't know. We can't predict what's going to happen in next game. But what they did was, they made shots this guy. So if they're on fire and they're making shots, or he's going to have to do something.

"Joining us here is the man who kicks things off every single day and then at certain parts of the year ends it every single day on NBC sports on peacock. The host of PFT live, the creator of pro football talk and the author of playmakers, which is still available all books are sold. Mike florio back here on the Mercedes Benz vans, phoned on. How are you doing, Mike? Rich, I'm doing great. It's great to talk to you. I love the peacock conversation. I know the terrestrial audience. I can get to hear it. But the good news for me we're no longer on over the air FCC regulated radio. I was talking to DP about this yesterday. Sims and I have been testing the limits of what we can say before we get a phone call from somebody higher on the food. Yeah, you got to work in blue. Aren't you? Mike, you guys are working blue on occasion. Always lives blue. He doesn't have to work it. That's just him being him. And he's starting to have a bad influence on me after 5 years. So we've been dropping a few from time to time. And nobody has said anything. So like Dan said, Ian Keith olbermann used to do it on SportsCenter late night to see if the executives were watching and they just came to the conclusion that they weren't. So maybe that's what's happening with us. Stuart Scott and I always talked about how we wanted to do a pay per view sports center where we could say whatever we wanted to say and use whatever words we wanted to use. And boy, we never got to do that. Obviously. But you got to pick and choose your spots. Which story were players caused you guys to curse more? Lately. Probably Tom Brady just because he's everywhere. And that's a point Sims made today that I think is a valid one. When you look at all the stuff Brady's doing, you still playing. He's got the $375 million deal with Fox that is looming whenever he finally retires. He's got the Netflix greatest roast of all time series. He's an executive producer and he's the subject of the first rose. He's got the movie. He's executive producing about the four octogenarians who go to Atlanta to watch him play in Houston to watch and play Atlanta in both 51. I think it is. I mean, he's everywhere. At what point is he overexposed of what point is there a natural backlash? Because people have reached their lifetime limit of Tom Brady. Well, ever. How about this? How about this though, Mike? Let's just put it this way. Even with everything that you just said. And I'm sure there's more to come, too. Because we're not even talking about his clothing line and everything else and his outstanding social media game that puts him in our timeline every now and then. That still hasn't even swung the pendulum back from the first 20 years of his career where he did nothing. And he hardly said anything and all he did was just the patriot way and I think we're just we're just seeing him let his freak flag fly a little bit and maybe we're seeing a side of Brady that we're going to see more of when he's in our living rooms in front of 40 to 50 million other households on big Fox games. We're coming. He is that kid that went to college after growing up in the house without a drop of alcohol anywhere to be seen and just goes crazy. Freshman year. Drinking everything he can find, making up for lost time. And you're right, the 18 years of silence may be helps people deal with the fact that he's everywhere now, but he's everywhere now. And he keeps finding new places to show up. It's just amazing. And there will be a critical mass at some point. I think if he just keeps popping up everywhere and anywhere that we happen to be paying attention. Mike florio here on the rich eisen show. In the I guess more serious quarterbacking world right now, the NFL and deshaun Watson are having a sit down confab about his 22 civil cases right now that's happening this week. It's happening this week and they've got to make a decision. And they've got to understand that there's a timeline that's created by the procedure at the NFL adopted in 2020. It's kind of a sandwich between the commissioner and outside person and the commissioner. The league will propose a suspension. There's an independent disciplinary officer hired and paid jointly by the league in the union that will investigate, presumably have a hearing issue, a decision on what suspension or discipline of any there will be. Then the commissioner has the exclusive appeal. Jurisdiction, which means he can, in theory, as long as there's any discipline imposed on deshaun Watson. Let's say the league says we want to put I'm just thrown out an example here for illustration. Let's say the league says we want them out for a whole year. Disciplinary officer says, as one game. The commissioner on appeal can say, nah, it's a year. And that's it. Final binding boom bang the gavel and see you later. Deshaun Watson. But whatever plays out, it's going to take time. I think they're setting this up for next Friday, Memorial Day weekend, little bad news dump on the three day weekend. What they propose, the punishment to be. And then the disciplinary officer would kick in after that. And this all gets wrapped up by Labor Day weekend. So everyone will know whether or not he's going to be playing week one or if not week one when he'll be back. That's your timeline for this thing, huh? I can make sense. They got to start doing something. At some point, the NFL doesn't like to make a decision rich until it has to. But at some point, the mere fact of delay is the mistake..

"Randy, I really appreciate the time, man. I hope we get to do this more often. I've really I've really enjoyed it. And I hope you did too. Thanks again, sir. Well, tell your security next time I come down to let me in, even though I don't have an appointment. I got turned away. Security escorted me out of the building. We got to make sure we got to get on that. We'll make sure you get on that. I guess next time maybe I need to bring like a baseball card and show them that I really am ready. Or a bird. At RJ. At RJ 51 photos on Instagram to check out this man's work behind the lens. Thanks for the call, Randy Johnson. You're the man. You guys do well. Randy Johnson here on the rich eisen show. That was just tremendous. I did not expect that. He's got a little Bill Walton in him. Yes, he does. All right, we'll take a break. We'll try and put that all back together like the bird. When we come back on the rich eisen show. Back here on the rich eisen show 8 four four two O four rich is the number to dial on the program. Fun stuff with Randy Johnson right there. We had Nolan Ryan, who's third in the all time. Strikeouts list. Because you've got one, we got two. Wouldn't it be? A young or somebody like that? That might be Walter Johnson. I don't think they're available, right? Who's third on the all time strikeouts list? Steve Carlton need to go straight down. Actually, Roger Clemens. Oh. Okay. I don't know if he's available. I mean, he's still with us. That's true. It helps. So we had Scott van pelt on yesterday and he's like, you know what? It's entirely possible Tiger Woods shows up at masters next week at Augusta national and actually tries to play. And because we brought the I brought that up with him because he was saying how weighty the coverage is from the worldwide leader in sports this week for duke Carolina. And because duke Carolina, the ESPN has been the home of those, right? Twice a year. Pretty much forever. I remember being in the 90s. I told a story about being on the air after one of them with Stuart Scott. He told one about being on after the earth on after one of those games on the air with Stuart Scott. And so I then like, well, how weighty the coverage that will just be a walk in the park if Tiger Woods shows up to Augusta national next week in place. CBS on their hands and knees and obviously anybody who's a Tiger Woods fan would just be and so what's happening? He's actually so here's the deal rich. There is a Twitter account called TW legion. Tiger Woods legion. They follow everything the Tiger does. So they were kind of tracking his jet yesterday because he had played a couple of practice rounds at the meadow list. One of the courses down in Florida, and then they were tracking his jet going to a gussie yesterday because there were rumors that he was going to walk the course. Just to walk it just to see him. Let's do it. Just to see how his body would hold up. Well, he ended up playing a full 18 yesterday. At Augusta. At Augusta with his son Charlie and Justin Thomas, him and Tiger very close. How do you get a G term? Sorry, keep.

"A little for lebron. Because lebron had iraq but he's twenty five and a half could be. It could be that. I'm being fooled by the diminished numbers. Because he had to share the ball with lebron. My i weighed actually looked not quite as good as he had been. But i'll say this to me a d. and westbrook or a better or potentially better teammate. Last night we had the number one pick a number two overall pick square office cates cunningham's pistons took down jalen. Greens rockets green. The second overall pick who bypassed college basketball to play in the g. league made his feelings known about being drafted second over. all tops started at jaffna. Jeff to number one. But i mean the way i can't i keep it simple mysolar from wild from my family and started keeping a better every day all right. Obviously a lot of great players from this draft stephen a. Who do you think's going to be the better pro cade or jalen me personally. I think jalen That's not to knock door any shade on cutting hair. I like what i see. He's a smooth brother. Small ball player. Got a nice stroke. No doubt about it I think he's got a lot of promise. And i think day twat as the late. Great stuart scott used to call detroit dates wa I think that. I think they're in for a treat to have no issue with it but i think that jalen green is one of them. Brothers that i look for two things guys actually three things. Obviously i'm looking you know for you know your size. And what have you athleticism. I'm looking for whether or not you have a preliminary shot because today's game. That truly does matter. The other thing that i'm looking for. Is it a go. get it mentality. Which is why max. I wanna take a moment to give credit to what you said about that cat out a bill mitchell. This brothers work ethic. I'm mean you got coaches raving about him. I read an article. We pulled a hamstring in. Come to find out bobby. Jackson who's coaching g. League sacramento and all of that and and working out working with those guys over the summer a sacramento covered him. When i was covering the more on the lakers are playing the sacramento kings You know in two thousand and stuff like that. He was a member of that team. Would bibi bitch and blotted evocative see web in those carts and Love bobby jackson and there. I was reading the story about how debbie you had a you know. It's you know stretches hamstring. The did whatever and come to find out max. The reason why is because he had worked out twice before the workouts was scheduled so he came in early in the morning. Got work out getting rest. Got an another workout before practice. And they say these are the things that he does religiously they like you got to calm down rose lows. He wants it that bad. I look at jaylen green when he gets on the court and compete what i see in cut at him as a smooth operator that knows how to play the game and it's going to know how to be effective and productive and there's gonna be a plus for the detroit pistons. I see a guy jalen green. That seems to have a little something extra that you don't teach not just talent wise but he wants it bad and he doesn't want to just be good and and the win. He wants to be the reason you win. He wants to be a star. We see here a lot of people say that but we don't see it when we're watching them. I see that when. I watch jalen green. And that's what. I'm thinking about on a comment quickly onto said that i want to make my point about keith cunningham. Number one stuart scott when you bring up his name would. The world was much better when stu scott was in it. I missed that dude. He was a great guy and obviously huge talent. Dvr mitchell there's a. There's a video circulating on social media from coby saw it on instagram or something where kobe talking about. He would wake up three in the morning to work out at four and then work out four to six and he takes the schedule of his day and he said now. If you're not doing that and i am after five six years you can never catch up got to. I've done it too much. you can't catch up. That's muhammad ali used to say. Get up and start running at five in the morning thinking joe frazier's up at six. I'm getting up at five right. That's what it takes david. Mitchell obviously has that kind of mentality. that's why he's six one six two and he was killing the game in college. We'd be killing it in the pros. Cunningham is a reason he was drafted. I even against the high flier. Stephen and the reason he was drafted i even over jalen is that the world has changed. The basketball world has changed what we're looking for as a centerpiece to a championship team. The thing that gets you there quicker than anything else has changed. It used to be way back in the day. The big center. No one would trade center for anything. That wasn't a center. If the center was great right. I mean everyone was looking for it coming out of the era. When i was a kid did an already passed. But you know bill russell and wilt chamberlain and then i was as a kid kareem abdul-jabbar. I know you were stephen a. And patrick ewing and david robinson. You must have a big then. Michael jordan came along. I mean there was bird and magic of course but they were sort of unicorns six foot. Nine point four guards. What were the jordan came along and it was like. Oh excuse me the two-way wing. Who can score thirty points a game. You want that. Kobe bryant man guys who could make you believe they could do that. That was the most sought after thing. Vince carter tracy mcgrady guys like that. Then lebron came along and then since then we've seen luca and james harden has evolved into what we wish. Ben simmons could be if he could shoot. Then we're like oh excuse me the athletic guy with the size of a wing plus who can run your offense who could also do all the things offensively that a point guard can do a hybrid of magic and michael and if he can shoot two. Oh my god that's what everyone's looking for nowadays it has. I think this draft was instructive that way. Because there's been a sea change usually a guy like like jalen. You're looking for that guys. They're going i but not if there's another guy who six foot eight and can handle and can score and can set up. Your offense like lebron luke or one of.

That's the only thing that i can't really sit with roy williams to come back for just one day. I know he's helping hubert out. I just hope he comes back for like one game every time you see. Today's i wanna point you to see roy you'll see the back of roy's head. He's walking out of the dean. Does with all this stuff in a box and he was like that guy beat me the way he did. What's gonna happen while thai rebuffs. She's if she is she's she's an iconic hoosier. She had a great career at indiana. If she really is hoosier through through she will tell. Brad throw the game shula. I'm hoping that. Brad davison pools dom james in the time he decides to play for the hoosiers and he just comes out and debris uniform and honestly i think indiana fans would just start cheering so they wouldn't even know what to do. Guess we're excited. It makes a lot of sense joint whole spec we love jordan. I wanted to also had a couple of shots. Oh i forgot. I forgot to bring this up spam. Are you aware the lebrons hairstylist credited in the movie. I swear to god you can go. Look this up gopal. hbo maximum. If you don't believe me. "I did not say that. Only an hour shut out Speaking of fox people our colleague in front of the program dugout. Oh who as we know is good because we know. Gottlieb is a He's a coach in waiting. What he is he. He is teaching me how to be a coach waiting where you get people to call you coach. You tell them you're coach. You're not really sure what program you're going to yet. I thought i really thought he was gonna make a run at the oklahoma state last time. It open when boyne got it He did not he he did but then like benun real life. Yeah yeah yeah xlii. It's kind of hard to suss out what's going on. But then every so often you look up. And he's coaching a team like i i i don't know is a you team as his kids wait. He's always coach this guy but he's not a coach but is code story short tate. He's coach she dressed coach. He's tweets like a coach. yes he'll just. He'll tweet out a videotape and he's just like watch this. This is called a ball screen. Watch what happens next boom screen role and we love him for it but he is a coach now because he was coaching the oklahoma state. Tbt team the alumni team the stillwater stars. I believe is what they were called. And doug ali as head coach of the still water stars in great opportunity to showcase what is capable of as a head coach. He goes out to eight wins game. One twenty three point comeback for the stillwater stars in the basketball term. If you don't know what the best. Tbt is it's a it's a single limitation winner. Take all summer deal. It's been going on for a few years. I listen because we had like housi- house team wanted to. So they they they come back in the first round on sunday in the second round they put forth a valiant effort. His guys came out. Played hard for him. It was it was very inspiring stuff to watch as the stillwater. Stars lost in the second round by fifty two points. So doug anyhow torn acl by the way. So he's got he's got good and actually watch i. Just i just know of this But i saw it because he was tweeting through it. He was like he was taking pictures of his legs and was like somebody. Tell me what's going on and then people replying. Looks like a couple of hot dogs He was taking pictures of his leg. He's like i got an injury. Help best can coach. And then he followed up and he's like i tore my acl. I went to the doctor. And he towards. Yeah yeah. dogs. Got attorney seal as coaching so hard. I don't wanna take away from this. Doug was coaching so hard. So well so good that he tours aco. What a character man. By the way a shadow fletcher mcgee and tbt. I saw he's on a team called. They lost but they were down by a lot. Magoo you're saying fletcher magoo nice. They're down by a lot to the west virginia alumni team. And they i watch this one they count they the tbt they do. The eelam indian said it. I think it was honestly set at sixty nine was yeah and they they were down like twelve or something and they they come storming back. They get it within. They have a shot at the into winter. They have the possession. I don't know i don't remember having And in the end they they ended up losing but they they came storming back and the reason i was so blown away. It was that the west virginia team was the two seed wedge mcgee's team as a fifteen seed and i was thinking as i don't even know in the last time i've ever seen the fifteen be to like that you know like it'd been so long i was watching it. I was captivated. I was like this is something that you never see in basketball. Nonsense like michigan state lost. I think when when middleton fifteen to game never happened so It almost happened the other day. And i just wanted to shut up fletcher for almost pull off the impossible. So that's what he does. That's who he is and we saw him what we saw at the three on three to. I mean we've seen reggie mcghee. I saw him when he's at wofford then obviously beat north carolina. And then man what arrived for fletcher. Magoo were so happy. One more shot from me stuart scott Anniversary of his passing cooler than the other side of the pillow. The best i mean the soundtrack of my childhood the best part about the space jam stuff is that i can just pull out all the nineties. Childhood experiences and stored scott was a part of that. Here's a day to sports centre. Here's the thing about the old school sports. And i'm in agreement with everyone else of our generation that i wish we could go back to like net era of sports highlights in you turn it on and it can remain. I love him. I love all the guys. Words got you know the whole deal But at the same time you. And i both know tate that if some some guy straight out of syracuse that gets gets hired at a espn and he's like twenty six years old and he's now an anchor and he comes in and he's he's calling the highlights and he's like in your cooler than his catchphrase. I got accepted to nyu in the phd program. Chris none of that matters. You know what i mean. Well you know. I just had you know as the black lives matter so they just have to put a black post in that gig. Really right really right i. I'm with you rob. I agree with everything you say. And like you said we both know rachel. I've never known rachel to you. Know i've never had any issues with her in any way but racially never seen anything from her or heard anything you know. I mean we've been cool. Like i like rachel but as you said this was disappointing and beyond that because you you spelled that out so clearly. It was just factually incorrect right. It was just flat out wrong. And there's been a habit at happening from the network all right so you say maria taylor only was getting the job because she was black basically that. Espn was feeling pressure to you. Know have a black person on the show okay. Let me let me think. I used to be on the nba countdown. Show and three of when i was on the nba countdown show for the nba finals. In two thousand twelve three of the four holes. We're black myself magic johnson. Michael wilpon were black and john kerry was white. That's pretty good diversity. Why would he. Espn feel pressure then. Who hosted the finals. Stuart scott sewers. Got hosted the finals for years. Sage steele a black female used to do that show and do the nba finals. And even now with take maria taylor off.

"Today's a special day here at ESPN. I want to take a moment to remember our former friend and colleague, the legendary the late great Stuart Scott. Today is the sixth anniversary of his passing after his courageous battle with cancer stew was always a champion for cancer research, especially driven to improve outcomes for minority populations. Who are more susceptible to die from cancer at a higher rate than other ethnic groups. After Steve's passing, ESPN and the V Foundation for Cancer Research created the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund. Support minority scientists and research in cancer disparities between ethnic groups. To date, the V Foundation has made more than $10.5 million in research grants from the fund. During the last month, ESPN and partners like the UFC, Stuart's fraternity, Alfa Fi, Alfa and TSC Thread list, the makers of those booya T shirts you might see with Stu's beloved Carolina blue on top of the Navy blue background. Have been supporting initiatives to benefit the fund and stews, honor and more than $300,000 has been raised. We want to thank them and thank all of you for all of your support, Stew famously said. When you die, it doesn't mean you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live and in the manner in which you live Six years after his death, his words continued to empower and inspire us All I know everybody's really busy and I did this yesterday. If you have an opportunity. Go to YouTube. You have a minute wherever you're going. Just type in the word. Stuart Scott SP hit Enter, and the speech pops up his legendary speech from the SPS when he was weak. He was gonna be dying there shortly thereafter, but he gave those final words. His daughters joined him on the stage. It's eight minutes and seven seconds. I know everybody's got a million things going on right now, but if you can spare eight minutes, seven seconds, it's an inspirational. It's a pick me up. It's amazing. From our late great colleague again. If you have a couple moments to go down memory lane words were Stu's specialty. Nobody wove words together like Stewart talking sports, and he did so on that night in front of the sports world with all of his vulnerabilities there. It was an unbelievable thing. Prayer sympathies, go out to his two beautiful daughters and try to help fight the battle with stew in spirit and legacy. Let's go from a to Z. From a to Z.
