"Not great. No. There's some work that needs to be done in that U.S. team room. And I think, okay, if it's about Jack sock and who he plays best with slash who he wants to play with, look, Jack sock is a very good doubles player. He's one grand slams in doubles. Being a very good singles player, but he's not that good that you can call the shots to that extent, whether it's him directly calling the shots or indirectly kind of mardy fish based in the team around him. He's not, you know, Christiana Ronaldo ten years ago in the Portugal team. It's not John McEnroe or anybody the way it used to be. No, it is not. That is not the situation with Jack Sorkin. He's not played since the laver cup. In doubles, you know, before that is, you know, I'm looking through his results here and it's not sort of, oh my God, this guy's first name on the team sheet. Type stuff. Now okay, experience and pedigree counts as well as form. But. Okay, things can happen in sport and hindsight is a wonderful thing, but this was a questionable call before the hindsight. Yeah. I think I would agree. Do you know my view on this is somewhat diluted, by the way, Canada ended up turning around their tie to win, which would come onto a little bit later because I was going to aim the same accusation as I'm going to at the United States team here. Which is they seemed to me too confident. Those four players and the team generally, I think that they thought they were going to win. I'm not saying that they were underestimating their opponents, but I think they were overestimating themselves. I think that the body language I saw was of a team that was really taken by surprise by the fact that it wasn't happening for them. I think that they assumed they were going to win. And yeah, I think that they got a pretty big shock to the system there. It never felt close that double as much. I think the score was actually if anything a bit flattering four and four. Yeah. Didn't feel close to me. And as I say, we move on to the Canada against Germany tie, which Canada of one and I did not see that victory coming after it went to the doubles. Now, if we just rewind a little bit, Janet yard strut, who mattered marked our cards about and his rivalry against Denis Shapovalov, which this was actually their 9th meeting. And stiff came into it leading 5 three, and he won this one as well, 6 three four 6 7 6. Now Shapovalov hasn't been playing tennis lately. He's been on holidays, one of those really weird situations where he's ended his season, he's gone to the Maldives, convulsed through, but then he hasn't stayed there and then gone off to his training block ahead of Australia. He's then come back onto the competitive course and played Davis Cup. Now, I can't be sure of this, but it felt to me like you're looking at a really rusty player here when he came out against struff and by the time sets two and three as we'll get on to in the doubles came around, he'd found his suddenly found his range, and he was playing lights at tennis, but he was a erratic against struff and struff is that methodical forward plodding tennis player who just comes thundering into the net time after time and hitting big shots. Is that agricultural the word? Kind of. Yeah, actually, if there was another, there's one other person who can join Stan Wawrinka on the farm. It's not true. I think. And there he was. Just swiping away. And Shapovalov lost that match. And Felix Australia seemed did his job. He performed like Taylor Fritz did, really. He was up against Oscar otter 7.664. Those two players, Fritz and auger seam have made big strides in terms of not losing matches on the tour very often these days that they shouldn't lose. And here they were delivering for their team to get them back level up one or but they were up against in the doubles in Kevin Kravitz and Tim puert. A team that had never lost in the Davis Cup doubles, either one of them, even 8 in a row, I think they'd won together. 11 and zero for Kravitz, 12 and zero for poets, they won the first set 6 two against Shapovalov, who still looked terribly out of form and was it possible though I don't think had played a lot recently either. 6 two and it was the most uneventful set of the week. It was the most straightforward, boring, one sided set of the week, and if you had told me that there's going to be a comeback here. I would have laughed at you. Maybe it was the ease with which that was one that sparked the comeback that was to follow because Denis sharp of aloe hit a patch of form so sublime. Dare I say, David, Marin Cilic S it was, I mean, feed it into my veins. It was absolutely mind-blowing and maybe he just got so loose. Maybe that's what happened because he is that kind of player is he looks like he needs to be loose. The looser the better. Limbs going all over the place. Those limbs diverging in completely opposite directions to produce his shots. It almost looks like he needs to be double jointed in order for them to have their full effect. So maybe, you know, had it been a really tight first certain it would have been different, but the fact that it was so one sided and almost becoming awkward. Maybe that freed him up. I mean, possible was good for the second and third set, but sharp of aloft. I mean, that was the shape of our love that got me so excited that 5 or 6 years ago when I first saw him, he just set me on fire. I think it was fierce and stuff. I think as well it was an example of why a lot of people say

"Then, you know, this decision might be inconsequential. I don't see why you wouldn't just want to have him there as a backup and the only the only reasoning I can find for that is a team harmony thing. I'm not adding anything to what Matt said here rather than that's the only reason I can think that you wouldn't want to have that backup available that it is detrimental into or in his view or in the teams you it's detrimental in some other way. It still doesn't make sense to me. But there's obviously stuff going on that we don't know about that either mardy fish doesn't feel comfortable saying publicly or it isn't appropriate or fair to say publicly. I suppose maybe he picked ram before when he knew that ram and sock was going to be his doubles team. And now he would be having ram and his team because he's decided to change the doubles. He would be having ram and his team as a backup. And maybe he doesn't think that ram would be a good sort of backup option if he's not automatically playing and it therefore is better to just sort of not have him here at all, perhaps. But then have someone else. Right. Maybe it's interesting. Although it is, that's a whole other decision. It is Thanksgiving. In the U.S. at the moment. And I think maybe some players have totally made themselves unavailable and just said, look at the end of the season, I want to be in my family. And I get that as well. So maybe his options are limited in terms of other players that could play. I mean, you would think that if they'd got a call up to play the Davis Cup finals for the U.S., they would still want to go. I'm just theorizing and trying to get to the bottom of what is what is a complex team selection, I suppose. But my guess now is that if doubles is needed, he will go with sock and tiafoe. I think, obviously, fresh from ending the career of Roger Federer at the labor cup. I mean, they weren't exactly brilliant in that in that doubles. I didn't think against Federer on one leg and the doll with a with an ab injury. They did manage to get the win, but they've jailed a little bit as a pair. So maybe that makes sense as the devil's pair. But yeah, absolutely fascinating. I do love the team selection, captain picks, dynamic of Davis Cup and Billie Jean King cup. It does add an extra. What are we expecting in terms of team selections there tomorrow overall Matt? Because Italy without baritone, how are these two teams likely to line up? Well, fish is certainly expecting sun ago and musetti to play for Italy. He said he would be surprised if anini plays singles. And then for the U.S., I'm not sure. He was pressed on whether Fritz is fresh and ready enough to play after his exploits in Turin. And he said, yes, he is, and he's sort of max sharp. So I think we'll probably see Taylor Fritz. And then if it was a little bit toss of the coin, really, between Paul and Paul and tiafoe, it might just be a match up thing. It might be a feeling thing for mardy fish. Maybe TFO, I suppose, as the higher ranked player, the one who can maybe get a little bit more inspired in this competition, perhaps. But either way, it's a very strong lineup for the U.S.. So that matches in the morning and then in the afternoon, it's Germany against Canada, which you've rewarded in reminded us reignites the Denis Shapovalov, Jan lenard struff rivalry, potentially, so we'll look forward to that. What do you think Catherine, who are you picking to win these two rubbers, these two ties tomorrow? Well, USA were my pick for the title from the start. So I got to stick with them. And I do feel that they will win that tie. Germany and Canada, I think probably Canada, but I don't see that with any great confidence. And I do find the stiffer valor of situation very interesting. They both lost in the football today, didn't they? Germany and Canada, so one nation is going to have a very bad 48 hours. Indeed. Okay, I think I would go U.S. and Canada as well. But now that we have this situation with the team selections and not calling up Reggie ramit and Matt having spoken to Marty fish and I can't wait. I really enjoying all these matches now. There's lots of intrigue around several of them. So that's all going to be taking place tomorrow. We have our episode mascot today who is called Bailey sits a cat and pod list net Helen writes that Bailey is my soon to be housemate Jess's three year old tabby house cat. Jess got her in 2019 after stephanos Sid surpassed the AO semis for the first time. Bailey is named after Jess's favorite female wrestler and her interests include hissing at people she doesn't know and snuggles. She's a little rough around the edges, but yes loves her and she's banned from Nadal's matches because she jinxes him. Blimey. There's a lot going on in Bailey's world, isn't there? Lots of taking there. So he is called city cat, but is named after a roof.

"Would it be top ten? I don't know. I've been put on the spot. I need some serious 6 months from to come up with a 5. And that 5 is laminated. She did seeds everywhere a favor today and beat Kai kanepi. Oh yeah, she sure did. Is the only person in the world who draws Diane Perry with all respect that I am parry and goes, oh no. You know, I want to dig a strong tech. I wanted Simona Halep. So true. I'm pleased though that Dan parry is not disappeared. You want to watch a lot more of her and Hugo Gaston, if you're into your Friends. I think he plays tomorrow. But then. Decided against onto the men's draw and a few interesting ones today in the men's draw, Carlos alcaraz just in a casual four hour 14 minute epic beating yelling at stroke in 5 sets. Matt was watching or certainly watched a lot of it. What a way for him to introduce himself to the court on crowd map. Yeah, amazing, and they really did take to him, and I think that's one of the things about our careers is that he knows he plays really exciting tennis. I love that. He's, again, he said in his press conference quickly in the Spanish portion that his tennis is dynamic and fun and therefore he thinks that the crowd really, you know, kind of go with him. And that was definitely the energy on court one as he made this comeback against Jan Leno's truth. Because I really thought he was going out to be honest. He was two sets to one down stroop was bringing it in the way that he can when he's serving well and he's just all his momentum is moving forward in the court and he just imposes himself and his power and he looked the much bigger presence. Alcaraz looked quite kind of small compared to strove. And it was almost reassuring in a way to me that alcaraz was struggling on grass because he's so exceptional. He's so exciting and yet it was like Tennessee's natural defenses of a different surface where like, yeah, but you still got to crack this car loss. And of course, he's so brilliant. He did manage to come through and he did sort of get better as the match went on. I think in the end he won it, lots of reasons. One of them was physically. He seemed the physically stronger, even though I've said that about struff being so imposing our crest was just, you know, he's a teenager, isn't he? He had so much energy, even deep in the 5th set. He's now won 5 of his 6, 5 set matches that he's ever played. The only one he lost was that final set tiebreak to bear a teeny in Australia. He's very, very good, even in deciding sets. And I don't think he's cracked grass, you know, he said that there are players in the tournament who are better on grass than he is. He talks a lot about how the movement is still something that he says, it doesn't come in just a day. You can't just crack the movement on graphs in a day. You need time. And he hasn't had that many matches. So that's definitely something to look out for with him. He served exceptionally well. 30 aces, the most he's ever served, I believe. But generally, the one thing I would say is that great players can just suddenly produce something stunning when they need it. And he did that today in the fourth set tie break, he was a mini breakdown, and he came up with the most stunning single handed on the run flick backhand pass to get him to two one in that tiebreak. It would have been three zero down without it. I watched the replay 6 times in a year. Couldn't believe my eyes, Harry, how he managed it. And it's little just little moments like that. It's just greatness. Okay, he's still got to achieve everything we think is going to achieve, but just I've seen great players do those things and he's already doing them. I can't help thinking that this was the banana skin. The early round problem and having found a way through, imagine if it dries up and he gets his feet under him. Thank you closer for nini next. I mean, that's tough. That's a tough draw. And he's comfortable on grass. And we've seen him cause Murray problems here years ago. But if he can, if you can just stay in the event long enough and not be injured and get comfortable. And the more match time he gets, that's learning time, isn't it? So, and because he's so young, he doesn't have to worry so much about the hours on the clock. You feel like it's just all right in the class. 5 setters and be able to figure it out more. Speaking of 5 setters, we had a 5th set tiebreak. Today, in fact, I think we had a couple, but the one I'm talking about here is 7 seed Hubert her catch going out to Alejandro davidovich for kina. Always of an honor skin this one, a blooming tough draw for her catch, a davidovich Burkina, okay, you might not think of him as a grass court, but he did win juniors at Wimbledon in 2017. And it was the most, I want to think of a non clean. I don't want to say roller coaster. I don't want to say topsy turvy. But it was all of those things this match. It was a thrill ride. Alejandro davidovich for kina was two sets to love 5 three 40 love serving. And this went 5. He went for a completely unnecessary tweener. Fast forwards will including rain delay probably about three and a half hours. And Hubert hook actually serving for the match. In the 5th set..

"Rehearse that, but I'm so glad I asked that question. So if you're wondering why that match didn't get covered that night. Honestly, when I saw that in the notes, I was like, okay, yeah. All I remember is I believe that happened. All I remember is it being on in your flat and Billy Jean King saying evidence that we're going to win. Right. Good calls all around. Rublev is a player that has an actual head to head against born Nagoya. Yeah, he doesn't remember it. Really? Well, he was asked, what do you know about Goya? And he said, yeah, I know I played him in Madrid at the 2019 finals, but I don't remember anything about the match. Right. Okay. Same. Same. Willie won the match. All of his messages were so aren't they? Well, that's true. Yeah. Crashes at a tennis ball and if it goes well he wins, if not a completely blows up. Willy won that match three and three, but this is a different born of Goya, isn't it? This is David's born ago. Well, he knows. He knows what's at stake here in this competition. I mean, between you and me. What chance do we give this of going to the doubles? 'cause that's what we want, isn't it? We want this going to the doubles. And if it goes the doubles, could be anyone's. But what chance do we give it of going to the doubles? Less than 50 50, I would say. Yeah, I think way less. I think 70 30, 80 20, you know. Who's more likely to win their singles? Goya. I think over rub Lev is more likely than chillage ever. I would probably say the same. I mean, I am slightly alerted by the fact that chillage did win those first two sets at Wimbledon. And if you were to do that again, it'd be over. But Medvedev's playing better than he was then. And he's on this surface than he was on grass. Yeah, I mean, struff had quite a good record against Medvedev on grass this summer, beat him in Halle. He pushed him at Wimbledon, didn't get close to him today on the end or a hardcore. And I say that and that's an assessment based on how all of those four singles players are playing this week. You know, I don't think chilik is playing that badly. I think he's had some okay performances. He's not got over the line in them. But Medvedev's playing so well. And then Goya was obviously playing really, really well, and Rublev has been fragile. I mean, he won today, much, much more convincingly, as I said, but those weaknesses are there. Those vulnerabilities are there. And if guyo can push him, I think that's the best chance Croatia has in this in this tie of extending it to the doubles. And if we get to the doubles, I make Croatia favorite. Just while we're on Croatia, if I can take a bit of a tangent quickly to get your thoughts on yesterday's action map that you weren't able to be with us for on the podcast like last night because you were working so hard slash eating churros will never know the real story. I thought you were going to go with a with a mountain of work, the size of Aslan karat says carves when you were coming in comparison. I wish you had. It got me out of a terrible, terrible moment in my history on this podcast. Which I don't believe I was kept in after I flagged it. Anyway, come on. What's up conversation, which I had to ward Matt? David. David had done an out of character penis joke on the podcast. Which he may or may not want to edit out. And it turns out he did not want to. David thinking this bit's getting interested out. No. No. It's not getting edited out. This bit is neither. This is the bit where I at least make it clear that I'm not happy with myself. I want you to learn from everybody. 900 podcasts plus. I finally let myself down. Matt, what are your I mean, take an issue with that comment at a later date. What are your lukewarm takes from Serbia against Croatia yesterday? I mean, firstly, I thought it was really interesting just as a tie having the number one singles player against the number one doubles team. I just love that dynamic and it was actually the first time that happened in Davis Cup since 2013 when again Djokovic was the number one singles player involved taking on the Brian brothers at the time and Serbia actually won that title obviously this time that it was the double was team that came out on top. I just thought it was as always when a top player and all time great like Djokovic is involved. It was just interesting. And there was this real heaviness in the room afterwards, David spoke about how they actually seemed pretty okay on the court with it and Djokovic really congratulated the equation team very nicely. But then in the press conference, he was not really looking anyone in the eye to begin with. There was a tension there. And I think people were sort of treading carefully with their questions, I suppose. And I just think it was another classic example of Djokovic being this great contradiction, because at the same time, I felt this real admiration for him at the end of this season and historic season having won the first three slams of the year. The closest we've had to a calendar slam since 88. And yet, you know, losses are just as much a part of your legend as your wins. I always think that. And the way he handled defeat in New York was inspiring, the way he handled it here was excellent and just the fact that he was here trying to pull his team over the line at this end of the season. I had a lot of respect for that. And there's no doubt that the competition was better because Novak Djokovic was in it. And I think he was frustrated by his team, really, and as David said, calling on them to become and double specialists perhaps so that he doesn't have to do literally everything because he's trying his best to help Serbia win the Davis Cup. And then the sort of press conference ended on this note of him being asked about when we'll see him again because obviously that's the next story. We don't know, you know, will he go to Australia? Will we not? And honestly, it made me laugh, how stupid that situation is? The world number one might not play the Australian open because he may or may not take a vaccine, which is helping to end a pandemic. And I just thought about that and I just thought, how absurd this situation is and how exhausting it is by how willfully coid Djokovic has been on the subject and just have to tiring it all is. And maybe he will take the vaccine maybe he will be in Australia. We'll find out pretty soon. But the fact that he sort of dragged the whole thing out and made it become this, this sort of whole event that it doesn't need to be,.

"With Marin Cilic, but endlessly discussing it, aren't we? How quickly mental baggage accumulates and you do have to these things in the bud quickly. And it seems so he's so brittle, isn't it? It's just so easy to find a chink and for that chink to suddenly become a chasm in his self confidence. He goes, it's he goes dark in the eyes. Yeah, it's very bizarre. Suddenly, the world is a terrible place in the world of Andre Rublev. And I don't like to see that. It's a tough watch. I find it really stressful to watch, don't you? Yeah, it's a tough watch. Because I kind of feel like I don't know what sort of psychology work he does off the court, and I know it look I know he suffered with depression in his life. And lots and little bits of what I see about him. He seems like a lovely chap. You know, he seems to have a really fun and quirky personality and around the other players. They all seem to everybody seems to like him. But it feels that he needs to do a lot of work to understand what's going on in those moments. And to find a fix of some kind, because it is derailing him. Yeah, but he squeaked through today, didn't he? 7 6 in the third and sort of nip and tuck all the way until the tiebreak. We should also say that. That's twice now. We've ended up with situations where we've seen this happen to him. And you're actually in the doubles the other day and here he's kind of found his way through. Maybe you should do because he's against inferior opponents, but I mean, look, I still think there's work to be done. Yeah, but that's just also listed a number of matches where it cost him. Yeah. Cost him and his country. I still don't think you'll be dropped as the number two player, but no, I mean, I don't think shamil tapper shev Russia captain makes many decisions. That's the sort of vibe I get. If Rublev wants to play, he plays. And look, honestly, there's probably something to be said for, you know, after that Lopez defeat telling Rublev, go out there and get a win because we might need you later in the competition. We don't want you sulking on that on that loss. Obviously, it almost backfired because he almost lost again. But I think you want to send out a message, don't you, I suppose, with your team selections and maybe hacks and oven corrects ever not playing well and Rublev is their best option and look, he got the win. So it worked in the end. Yeah, it's television just to over it to make decisions. He has been doing this job for 712 years. That is a long time. I don't know exactly how many years it is, but it is so long. Since the 70s, isn't it? Well, he started in the 70s. Then I think at arrest and then came back brief rest. Yeah. Regrouped himself to make a few more decisions and now just sits there. Good luck to him. And you have to sit there while rosha take on Germany in the semifinals. Do we give Germany much chance? I think this is very similar to the other. And that they've got to win that first singles. The number two, because I really don't think struff is beating Medvedev, not Medvedev in this form. I mean, frankly, not never live anyway, but Medvedev's looking really good, I think, in this tournament. Chick's moment. So I really don't think so, because what we saw from guy object bloody hell. This is redemption time. He doesn't go to me. He doesn't become a rubbish player. There's no coming back from that. That is a clip for us. Well, I think cook for probably play to be honest. Yeah. I mean, it was a surprise that cook for didn't play when guy of chick was put in and Dan Evans thought there was some sorcerer it worked and didn't he about the timing of that substitution. Was he fully fit cup for? I suppose we don't know that. Dan Evans thinks so. But who knows? So we're looking at Rublev against cook for question mark. That's going to be the critical critical point. It would be fascinating if it came down to the doubles. Because Germany, Germany, have got that established successful pairing and Russia muddled through in the doubles. They play well, Rublev and karate said together. I think that would be would be really interesting. I just can't see it. I bet Germany favorite if it goes one or yes, I think I would too, actually. They're really good things too. Yeah. Unfortunately, I think I agree with Matt that it's unlikely to. But look, the other aspect of this Rublev situation is that everybody knows about it. Every player that goes out to face him is having the chat with their captain and or their coach beforehand, and they're saying, he's really brittle. You've just hang in there and just that, in most much is even defeats, there'll be a moment there'll be a moment where you get a break back or you get a break or something and seize upon that and stick the knife in and watch him fall apart, you know. So it could get interesting, I think. And I really hope it goes down to the doubles. But we'll see, it'll be tomorrow that we see Croatia against Serbia that's 3 p.m. UK time 4 p.m. Madrid time and then it will be Saturday for Russia against Germany and of course the final on Sunday. And the Saturday matches earlier. Yes. Midday. Midday UK, 1 p.m. here. I think to give them more recovery time ahead of the final. Yes, okay. That all makes sense. Okay, well, I think that's it. Feel round up of quarterfinal action. There's just three ties to go to semis one final. David, you know where Croatia colors, tomorrow? I suspect we will be seeing some of those. My son has got the full football strip. So I think that that'll be making a parent. Love that. Love that. And I reckon your son can probably nail a apology fist bump. Yeah. He wins. He would definitely be good at those. In fact, but I better tell him about those. And yeah, you'll be seeing them. Get practicing, everyone should have one in their repertoire. We'll be doing we're doing daily podcasts from now on to the end of the Davis cups will be back with our next one tomorrow. You don't have long to wait, and then we've got another one Saturday and on Sunday as well. We have the news yesterday, which we should cover very quickly. "Germany will face the winner of tomorrow's semifinal between Russia and Sweden. No, Thursday, semifinal, between Russia and Sweden. And that is because Kevin Kravitz and Tim puts just beat Neil skopski and Joe Salisbury in two tiebreak sets in the deciding doubles rubber to win that quarterfinal in a crowdless Innsbruck. That was after Dan Evans absolutely thrashed Peter goy of chick. I mean, of all the people that are miserable tonight. I mean, well, actually, maybe, I mean, weird one for Peter go of chicken, isn't it? Because he's just made it to the Davis Cup semifinals. Bees had probably the most stinking day of his life on the tennis court. I don't know. I mean, sheepish celebrations for Peter had a budget. Anyway, Yellen is sure if did the business came back and leveled it beating Cameron nori in three sets. And then it's inputs to the business as well. Very narrowly coming back from 5 love down to win that second set tiebreak, but didn't start well for Germany or Peter goy of chick. He's probably just. Standing, I don't know. I mean, I suppose there are celebrations are there, they're making their way to Madrid. Sat at the back of the bus, just pondering singing along very quietly to the merry jeans on the bus. I mean, it must be a weird feeling because surely he not going to play again. I mean, after that performance. I wouldn't play him again. I mean, I must say, Dan Evans was exceptional and he described it as some of the best tennis he's played all year. I think and I think, you know, he said, actually, he was really nervous this morning and woke up with a bit of an edge and he said in his press conference, he was angry, and he wanted something to sort of needed an outlet to take that out. So he just practiced for longer. And Leon Smith said from this is great. This is exactly the energy I want from you, bring that onto the magical, and he did. He was exceptional. But the health check was awful. I mean, really, really bad, so many double faults. He was so nervous, I think. He said he didn't sleep the night before when he was told he was going to play. He just did not handle it at all. And, you know, I think maybe the change was made because Dominic cook fur has an O and three record against Dan Evans. But, you know, there was some close matches in there anyway. Whatever the thinking behind that pick, it didn't work out. Look, maybe that experience would mean that if he did play again, he would he would handle it better. But, I mean, you wouldn't surely wouldn't take a chance on him again after that. How many of the millions he getting? Well, it's more. They're into the semis now. You can't, you can't not give him any, can you? Maybe you divide it. Given up ten days of his time, if not more. Percentages of games accumulated for your team in the week, maybe? Three games. He won three. So he can have three quid. Anyway. Yeah. It sounds harsh. He did look at it in the sort of in the pogo jumping that they did as a team at the end. And a big circle, he did look a bit all good about it all, you know, but, you know, look, he's part of the team, and he was cheering him on and all the rest of it. Yes, he did great cheering. At least a 5 is worth of cheering, I'd say. Hell of a manager. To become a win a from having lost a first rubber like that. I mean, really, I felt as a British person who, yes, does want Britain to win just as a spectator. I felt very relaxed at that point. One zero up with Cameron nori still to come. Who I probably would have backed to beat struff really at the start of that match. And if not, well, I mean, the thing is you're talking about Djokovic. I saw cravats and put speed Djokovic in his partner a couple of days earlier. So I knew how good they were as a doubles team. But I still thought that when it came down to it, scope and Salisbury would probably get it done in the end. So all credit to the German team for winning that. I think and struff, you know, to be playing a guy like nori, who's just gives you so little and to keep going for the shots enough. And backing yourself sufficiently to pull it off like a percentage game of going for big shots almost. You know, if they go in the vintage game of loops and yeah, yeah, absolutely. Yeah, he's so I mean, he can he's very confusing, Ellen. He also could be described as agricultural, I think. At least in physique. Hold on, I throw the agricultural references around it. It is okay. Well, is he or is he not a tad agricultural? He is a bit, yeah. But don't be fooled by the backwards baseball cap. Actually, my wife was watching both the Goya match and the struff match. And she said she felt they had similar builds, these sort of shoulders, you know, and both tall guys as well. He couldn't he can make some absolutely hideous errors stuff that sort of professional tennis players don't make or shouldn't make. Some sort of absurd shot selections that just make it over the net or don't even make the court let alone the tram lines. And he can also look like Pete Sampras. He's very confusing. Maybe this is experience and sort of getting to know and coming to terms with his game. Exactly as you say, David, he's unperturbed by the hideousness of those areas. He just regroups and goes, that's my game. I'm going to do this sometimes, but I probably won't do it next time. I might do it the time after that, but probably not next time. And it was such a contrast with cameri nori, whose game is so watertight. His shtick is all give you nothing. You will have to work for it. And policy is just being loose as a goose. Italy, I'll donate you a lot, but I'll also take a lot away from you. It was a really interesting contrast. I mean, there are patches of the match where it is not high quality. But it did end up being quite quite high drama and very entertaining. Yeah, I mean, completely. For all the reasons you've said, I was backing nori, really, the entire time, even when he didn't convert his two set points in the first set tiebreak and lost that set. He regrouped, took the second set of things 6 two pretty straightforwardly. And yeah, he's just so relentless, physically, mentally. As garbine muguruza would say, he just sort of forces to play a high level. And yet strip managed to do that enough times. I just didn't think he would be able to, but he pulled it off when it mattered. So huge credit to him for that. He kept going for his shots and they paid off. Yeah, and then outcome inputs and Kevin Kravitz and I mean it was so nip and tuck, wasn't it? I mean, both that I did feel like please just fast forward to the tie break. Particularly the second one, I don't think there was a single break point in the second.
