"I thought it was like some other weird limitation software. But and they're like. Oh yeah this bluetooth audio now. I was looking for a table to flip. I was so they gave us something that everyone angry about it. Switch the new switch to come out or whatever like i was meant that that didn't have bluetooth audio time. That's the only thing i wanted. They lost out on a presale. I would've ordered the new switch. If they didn't has bluetooth audio and then they would release this then. That would have been mad for that reason. I it just it's so baffling. How nintendo still does it. Like gavin said like when they were releasing. They're giving us something we want and we're angry about it. I am people have been so long. That people switches have conceivably died from. Because it's been four and a half years. They've forgotten entire switches have gone through their life cycle without ever having used the bluetooth audio because it was turned off. So did you just never have headphones plugged in. But i'd have to carry a cable like it was just like especially when you travel it's like an inconvenient thing to like be wrapped up with the cable of your like the way that they position it as being like something you take on the go deportable aspect bluetooth. Audio just makes a lot more sense. I remember when we played mario party on the stream a couple of weeks ago or months ago at this point where i was playing on my switch and i think you are john. We're like broadcasting your view for the stream and i had my switch like balance on something and i was complaining hawk flying over and gus was like agassi's to kick stan and i was like the what now i i had my switch for like fucking three years. I never knew there was a kick stand on it really cut. Isn't that the steelers up top. Isn't it up. The is it under the under the fixed end. Remember it is but digital. I never had an d. card digital games too or you just only. You've got away with just internal memory. I only i only had like three games under the kickstart. Do yeah. yeah no i never. I feel like the kick stein is my favorite part of the switch. Not because they've ever used it to put it down just because it's great to fiddle with when you're doing stuff in and out but then flu often. It's not you break. That's the best part. Is i feel like it's part of the council. When you get mad you can break it off. And then just sit back magnet and they'd be like fuck. This theme might mine is now without kickstart which is great for fiddly. I'm happy that i discovered it. Even though like that was the only time actually needed to use it. I think you found out about it immediately. Told you don't be alarmed. If it falls off designed to break off just reattach back on no problem. Yeah because i've never. I've never taken it on the plane with me before like houston. It's either been in the dock or in my hands. i've never had to kick it out almost exclusively for a long time just played switch on planes. That's how i was planning out into the wild. Which is why i started that game three times because i forgot every time the moshe shoygu stroz in breadth of the wild not great on a plane when the plane starts to turn the whole game. Also also guys really interesting accelerometers. How do they work. Yeah that's wild man. I've been speaking of planes. Turning is taking flight lessons and been right. Yeah i've been reading like apparently if you ever wanna learn. The books are available for.

"Forensics is really <hes> the application of investigative techniques, , <hes> and of. . Science to study and interrogate digital media and that's a broad category. . So it can mean everything from computers to mobile devices to SAS applications really anywhere where people are using interacting with with. . Digital Information, , and the reason you do that, , and this is what makes it forensic is that you're you're recreating either how it was used or what happened on it or in some instances. . What information it contained for example. . Delete recovery of deleted information. . So that's that's what digital forensic is. . It's most often done in the context of litigation you know. . Obviously, , there's criminal investigations in the private sector for company like in my career more often it's in the context of Civil Litigation dispute between two companies <hes> but. . There are many different paths in avenues that can follow which in my mind. . What makes it very, , very interesting, , right like you can have. . Cases that just very night and day from one another, , and it's all kind of under the stuck digital forensics. . So this is more of an umbrella term for all of the things that we of mentioned before. . This is any any sort of data digital information and the sort of forensics friends, , IQ examination and retrieval, , and reporting on it. . Yeah. . That's right. . So it would encompass mobile forensics <hes>. . Other things. . Absolutely. . So from a career standpoint what types of things? ? A lot of our listeners are just considering cybersecurity is a career and don't know what they want to start with. . But like what sort of things should be learning or studying or getting involved with if you want to sort of prepare yourself to possibly move toward a career in digital forensics. . Yeah, , I, mean, , , the <hes>. . That's a great question and there's no one right answer which is <hes>, , which is maybe confusing but also good for people who have taken one path or another, , and they WANNA get into this <hes>. . At my current company, , we hire from a very wide variety of backgrounds at crisis. . The traditional computer science study of Information Systems. . That's very helpful and some some universities now even have digital forensic, , Undergrad a curriculum for example, , <hes> Champlain College has a great program, , a University of. . Southern. . California. . Here in Los Angeles where I am has a great program. . and. So . that's one thing but I think more more critical more important than just the kind of technical subject matter is that <hes> ability to think critically and to have those technical skills but also to combine that with very strong <hes> community communication skills because you're you're engaging with with clients who are having these problems. . So you know it's one thing to be able to dive deep into the technical, , but it's another skill that needs to be combined with that communicate and to correspond with. . The people that you're working with whether it's attorneys or whether it's the the <hes> the. . <hes> the victim of a of a cyber attack. . Can you give me some? ? Be a specific example but some sort of <hes> examples of the type of problem solving skills you you need to be using on a daily basis in terms like you said, , if if all the data's been, , you know deleted at the last minute or because they know something's in there whatever like like what are some of the problem solving skills you have to sort of bring to bear to say like while this things not here but how do I get your? ? Yeah I think the biggest one of the challenges that I see very often. . Very common with people earlier in their career, , but even experienced practitioners. . One of the hardest challenges is, , how do I wade through so much data, , right? ? Even one hard drive. . You know you've God maybe it's a terabyte hard drives <hes>. . If you are looking at Ed unallocated space or all of the event logs, , you've got millions of entries and you know you could scroll through that data for in a daze just one one drive and investigations nowadays are. . Commonly hundreds of hard drives, , hundreds of points, , thousands even, , and so what I see is that people really get overwhelmed even when when they've got one drive and how do I, , how do I find the signal in the noise? ? And even when they're kind of educated on the different artifacts places to look <hes> they find the what we see is like people kind of like try and go through them serially and. . Again just very quickly get overwhelmed and so that's part of the really a good good skill to learn how do you how do you filter through all that stuff to to answer the questions that you have?

Benches clear in first Astros-Dodgers game since scandal

"Last night's Houston Astros Los Angeles dodgers game got a bit heated. The teams jawed at one another and the benches cleared after Dodgers Reliever Joe Kelley through a couple of pitches that the stroz perceived as intentional being balls. This was the first meeting between the two teams. Since the Astros signed stealing scandal came to light the dodgers were the team the Astro's beat in the two thousand seventeen world series. I cannot repeat some of what was captured by microphones during last. Night's broadcast but one of the voices expressing colorful language was that of Astros Manager Dusty Baker who learned yesterday he will be back as manager next season. The Astros Tuesday picked up the option on his contract for twenty twenty one. The STROZ also picked up contract options for pitching coach, Brent Strom and third base coach Gary Pettus.

Travel to Tainan, Taiwan

"I'd like to welcome the show. Katie Liang who is come to us from Vancouver British Columbia. Come to talk to us about Tynan. In the country of Taiwan Katie is from photo spire D- Dot Com. She is a blogger there and we'll put a link to that in the show notes and now katy welcome to the show. Thanks for having amy. So what's your connection. I with Taiwan so I was actually born and raised in Taipei Taiwan which is the capital city of Taiwan. I moved to Canada when I was eleven years old. And I've been back and forth in between the two actually look in Taiwan for four years after graduating university and I just recently moved back to Vancouver have but I will go back to Taiwan again in the next few months or so you have two homes is really what you're telling us. Essentially I cannot sort of home because my family's here and my cats is here. I think spiritually I really really Miss Taiwan and I think I think that's where I really feel at home. Excellent will in. Why should someone go to this? Part of Taiwan. We've talked about Taiwan the show three times before I think this is an area we have dealt with. Why should we go to China so I want to talk about ten specifically because I really enjoy going in there so it can be the short weekend trip for me? But I've been there numerous times and each time so much to discover and I think the essence assists me about the warmth the people there and history and culture can find there and we're in the southern part of the island on the western coast of Taiwan so the opposite end of the airline pretty much from Taipei. I guess you could say that. It's about four hours drive from Taipei. But if you take the high speed rail it's only two and a half hours. What should we do in China? What itinerary recommend for US Tannen on is really about the street food so the first thing going to try is definitely to find some Thomas Breakfast so breakfast is essentially things psych? Mike Soya milk so if you find a place where they make fresh soya milk it can really taste of roast. You can also find things. I Chinese donuts and counting style armlet so those are really excellent. They don't want to donate is. I don't know what a Chinese style Avocados got pastry. And then the egg on top and you can flavor with sway sauce and I think they usually ask some corn or pork floss but it depends John. What can flavor you want? It's a really good start today because you have so many different things. Is there a particular region of the city street or or vendor. You would send us to for street food street. Food obviously changes sometime. Yeah so actually confined to bacchus everywhere throughout Ireland. Four China China is especially they have very unique. Take on breakfast so they like to eat. Things are really heavy for breakfast so you might find. Do things like Taro cake for breakfast or shrimp meatballs for breakfast. So those things are a bit more heavy but down really very flavorful. They really give you the energy for the rest of the day. We'll let me let me pin you down a little bit here so I arrived. Let's say by train high speed rail. I get out of the train station. Should I hit the very first vendor. I find or is there particular direction. I should head to find the best street food. So if you get up to high speed rail you won't be in town and city centres. It's actually. It's actually quite a drive from city centre so you can take a shuttle or hop on the regional train and get there here in maybe ten or so and since the descend to attend find much more options so once I've been city centre. They're we're all over the place. I would start my search the Tannen train station. So there's lots of streets and lots of street vendors there and I'm sure any one of them will be really good next okay so after breakfast you'll probably to explore a bit more so I recommend the streetcars Gosh Shannon's street. What's unique about the streets? It was once one of the busiest streets in China because of trade the town I used to be really famous canals and waterways. That was how people got around in days overtime. Dock became less popular and the street fell under repair now all the government has really revived it. And now it's become a cultural hub of so you can find this stroz cafes frosts and lots of things to do that's a good place to check out the street one more time Hsien no streets so it's spelled S. H. E. N. N. O. N. G. But one thing had to be careful of that has to have a lot of different crafts and handmade stuff there so most of the vendors don't want you to take photos yeah you you can take photos of the streets for not of the products are selling in. What kind of products am I going to see it? Sh- street very unique seven years. I I can take home because I find that if you go to a souvenir store general you find the same stuff. All throughout the island are Chanel. Street can find glow pouches. You can use for coins and there's also traditional closing got it. This is when you say street. This is more like an alley. Yeah exactly so if you look on Google maps is actually really short. Okay Yeah so is you are for you probably we're too. I think it's a good time to cool down because hands generally very warm authored a year. So you might want to go and in have some shaved ice and so one place. I recommend as Code Eugen. It's spelled Y O U C h e the N. G. so very famous for the mango shift is and that's usually during the summer months. That's when the mangoes are in season and the most suites and so you have to order the mango shaved ice. If you go there during the summer so it's better to order strawberries in the winter because that's when strawberries we saw in season then after chastise onto more food because this is really just food brings allow memories of place and I really liked to discover food cities to food. I find out fascinating because of that after that I recommend for land she can go to do south for the Dandy Noodle Noodle is also unique Tatan it's actually become uh-huh so famous that it's the number one search word fourteen. Okay Okay and so. There's a story behind it so it used used to be that fishermen in town then they would have a few months of rough season. Were unable to go out to see and so this guy who he wants to to survive over the few months so he started selling noodles at Temple Square and because he was carrying the noodles over like a shoulder pole as he named her Danzon. Nudo for that. You're sorry you by Chinese is not as good as here's the meaning of the word is Dan's I is our knees for the shoulder. Polls OCHRE got it. You'll find actually several locations for Danzon. You'd in China and all claim to be the original and I'm not quite sure which is actually the original but the one I went is actually actually the most humble looking I should say and this right across from chicken tower. which is the most famous landmark container? So it should be it'll find Quite easily and it's very good snack food for lunch or for any time of the day actually okay and you see ah the Tower Chicano Tower C H I H K an correct. Yeah so that brings onto the next eighteen points. It's of interest to check out the tower because it is mostly landmark in China and lots of stories and legends behind a plays You'll find out. There's nine turtle looking statues placed throughout the compound. Yeah they symbolize strength because they carried tower which is interesting. There's also this myth. That's there was like a tunnel dot com next tower to another nearby forts switch. I'll talk about later. There were used by the Dutch in earlier days. The two towers are connected to the Dutch so the Dutch they had a colony colony here in town trading city. Yes was one of the early years establishments in Taiwan and so the Dutch came around around sixteen hundreds and they built a fort called. Well we call it today on PM sports and then lead it. Also builds Chicano she can tower and a bunch of other landmarks and Tannen and so a lot of architecture. Here is really inspired by that area. Time not that. This tower looks Dutch. So yeah she kantar actually does now look Dutch because being through several changes and so now it looks more Chinese after that I would recommend checking out the other folks I was talking about. which is this is a bit on the outskirts of town? You'll likely get due to afford by the streets so the old St is another interesting place at checkout. Because has the many street vendors for drinks and snacks and dessert. You might find things like Tofu. Pudding desserts my find things like the voice Oyster omelets which is famous in Taiwan. The Ford has so much history. You can find a remains the original wall on account pound literally a wall right next to you this memorial hall. That explains the history behind a consider photos and can see the artifacts remaining take time

Stealing the Signs: How Allegations Against the Astros Could Change Baseball

"Any allegation that relates to a wool violation that could affect the outcome of a game or games is the most serious abuse matter that was. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred responding to questions questions about the biggest baseball scandal. In recent memory amidst accusations of the Houston Astros stole signs two years ago executives employers around around the League are wondering what will happen next and whether it goes beyond the Astros. It's a story could change the game as we know it. I mean at times. It's Wednesday November twentieth. This is espn daily presented by indeed. Jeff thanks for coming on the show. There's really nothing going on in baseball these days. No nothing at all just the biggest scandal in the last decade to last century maybe Jeff Passan is an MLB insider for ESPN Jeff. You're at the the. MLB owners meeting in Arlington Texas. What is the scene like there? So the scene is actually construction. Seen Globe life field is being built right next door. In the shadow of Jerry World Rob Manfred and a bunch of Texas Rangers. Executives took a tour through the new ballpark. And so we're looking in the sweets and we're looking at the club down the first baseline and then we end up in this construction action area. Where Rob Manfred is standing there in front of a bunch of cameras wearing a hard hat and the first few questions are about the Rangers ballpark? But then the question comes in what about the Houston Astros and the sign stealing scandal. That is taking over Major League baseball right now. We have a very very active. What is going to be really really thorough investigation ongoing but beyond that? I can't tell you how close we are. He addressed that and really clued us in some as to what. Mlb Thinking is at this point early on and what's going to be the biggest story in baseball this year. It's it's the biggest story in baseball. It's really honestly the biggest story in baseball in a real long time. And that's of course the report from the athletic that according to Pitcher Mike Fires fires the astros stole signs back in two thousand seventeen. What exactly where the Astros accused of doing in two thousand seventeen is mike fires? Alleges the Astros had a camera in center field that was trained on the signs that the catcher was putting down and the feed from that camera went to a monitor in the hallway between in the dugout and the Astros clubhouse and in this hallway. There was somebody who is. They're looking at the signs decoding them in real time. And depending on what the pitch was if it was a fastball. There was nothing but if it was an off speed pitch they would bang on a trash can and those noises leases that would come out of the dugout would alert the hitter as to what was coming now. This was happening incredibly quickly. So it's obvious that the Astros had the signs of these teams pretty early and as time went on this got out and if you were going in to face the Houston Astros. You went in there with multiple signs you. You changed up the this year during the world series the Washington nationals had five sets of signs that their pitchers had to memorize because they wanted to change them so quickly because they were so wary of what the Astros were doing. Science stealing in. Baseball isn't unusual. But what is unusual about this well the way that you look at signed stealing or the way that longtime grizzled baseball men look at signs. Stealing is that it is an art that if you are able to use use your eyes to figure out what's going on whether it's a runner on second base looking at the catchers signals and somehow furtively relaying what's coming coming to the hitter that that's something that has been part of the game for a really long time and is beautiful and is enjoyable and is is part. The fabric of the game one technology gets involved. You get into the unwritten baseball rules that it's almost beyond the Pale that you would ever use. WHO's a camera or you would ever use some sort of algorithm to decode what the signs are and that's where we that's where we are at this point where you have this old school mentality of signs stealing being okay running up against the reality of life in two thousand nineteen where technology he makes things a lot easier and makes it a lot easier for you to go out and do something like this and what? The allegations against the Houston Astros are is is that they looked at this unwritten rule in baseball scoffed at it and said we want to win. And we're going to go to any length to do that. Well well they did win. They won the world series that year in obviously this casts that victory in a New Light. How has the team responded to these allegations? The team really hasn't responded and that is interesting for the Astros because as we saw with the brand and Taubman situation the Astros Stroz instinct is to push back against negative stories is to save. This is how we do things and whether you like it or not. It doesn't make a difference so their silence in this case has spoken a lot of volumes now. Granted there's an investigation into this right now and they're probably not going to want to run afoul of Major League baseball when they're looking at severe potential penalties. That Rob Manfred can enforce. Obviously we're still very much in the middle of this. But what kind of punishment do you think we might be looking at. It's tough to say I would not be surprised if the maximum fine is levied here and that's two million dollars. The last time we saw that happen vigne was ironically with the saint. Louis Cardinals who had an employee Chris Korea hack into the computerized database of the Houston Astros. And they were fined two million dollars they were docked. Two first round draft picks that were given to the Astros. When you go beyond the draft picks and you go beyond beyond what to a billionaire is a miniscule fine? You're starting to look at potential suspensions. And if if rob Manfred goes goes out and suspends Jeff Lou the General Manager of the Houston Astros and suspends. Aj hinch the manager of the Houston Astros all of a sudden. Maybe maybe teams are going to think twice before thinking about doing something like this but you know what maybe they're not maybe teams look at it and say okay. Two a million dollars a few graphics some international players my GM and my manager what trade that for a ring. I think almost every one of them the answer is going to be. Yes we've heard what Manfred has to say so far. What are people saying in Arlington? What are you hearing from other teams around Donald? There are a lot of very very unhappy billionaires. And that's what you have to be to own a major league baseball team. Every one of these teams is worth more more than a billion dollars and they look at what's happening and they look at their investments and they say we invested in something that is farcical is is this really the point that we're at where a world champion achieved that with something like stealing signs and it's a reasonable thing to ask and I think if there's anything that's going to pressure rob Manfred to make sure that this investigation is as thorough as he says it's going to be it. Is those twenty nine other owners outside of the Astros owner. Jim Crane saying hey the game and its integrity is on the line here and we really truly deeply employees need to look into this to ensure something like this not just doesn't happen again but that we adjudicate the right kind of penalties to ensure that it doesn't so teams are looking at this and saying that Rob Manfred has to put down an enormous penalty on the Astros. If in fact the investigation does back up the allegations that Mike fires made aide. What about the argument that the Astros are being unfairly judged here because everybody does their no astros officials who were speaking on the record right now but if you talk with people in the organization they will say yeah but what about everyone else and listen? That's that's not much of a defense is so much as it is a way of trying to get around what they did. wrong. If you talk with executives around the sport they think that this is not something that is limited just to the Houston Astros that this is something. That's been going on far foreign wide for a while now and they're looking at rob Manfred and saying. Are you going to actually do something about it. And what was most interesting about his comments. Today is that he said and this is a quote. I'm not going to speculate on whether other people are going to be involved with that if it happens but I have no reason to. I believe that expand extend beyond the Astros at this point in time now maybe. MLB's investigation is going to bring more evidence to show otherwise but until it does there will be people around the game who are saying that this is something that's happening and this is something that's not being addressed by. The Commissioner's Office Office. What does that say about baseball? What does that say about the sport writ large that it's not just the astros potentially that is all of these other other teams that are trying to get around the rules and potentially running afoul of them? And what does it say about the integrity of the game right right now because if the Games are not being played on a fair level then they're not really games at all it's just the wwe

Everybody wants to come and be on the Gary Visha so till what for for for the group that's watching right. Now are listening. That doesn't know who you are. I'm a big fan of the origin story. So what are you. Why don't you tell everybody what you currently how you currently currently positioned yourself because one thing I adore about you from afar? Is You got your hands in a lot of different stuff. It's that kind of entrepreneurial mindset. I can attest test that I understand it so when somebody says somebody meets sits down with you and says it doesn't know who you are like what do you do. How do you answer it? That's really funny. That doesn't happen that often but when it does I'll just say you know I'm just trying to make a few dollars a few little oh businesses and you know my main business is a company called Landry's. It's about six hundred restaurants and Landry's owns everything from from Mastro's Stroz to Martin's to rain forest a Bubba gump to salt grass to ocean air to dose Kominos two bills Burgers and on and on and on there's like fifty five zero yeah about fifty brands and over five hundred restaurants but and then the five golden nugget casinos or mind and then and aquariums amusement parks catch and then I have this little sports team called the Houston Rockets and I do that on the side when I'm not busy was was so let's take it all the way back. Any of the eleven are alive at that is so good. I just loved this because I wasn't far behind and and that's what's amazing is I've I've talked to entrepreneurs. We're given different ability and and it's a it's a god given ability and we just know how to do it. Yes and knowing that you've been around sport you know do you view entrepreneurs like athletes that way like James Harden was given a gift. That's obvious to a lot of people it's a little less obvious where you're going with this on the entrepreneurial kick but I couldn't agree with you more Gary. I talk about it. All the time I talked about added in this book that that God gave us all an ability and he decided tillman. I'm not GonNa make you a musician. 'cause I took guitar lessons for four years and I still couldn't couldn't play a chord. I'm not GonNa let you win a grammy. I'm not let you win an emmy for sure not gonNa ever let you be an NBA all star or be a professional well athlete but you know what we're GONNA do. It's aria and i'm ian also now joining us johnson so we've been talking about the late august climate to satoshi nakamoto thrown. I'm sure there have been many of these. These people just are certain ones that have gotten more attention than others and this is the newest it didn't take long of course for twitter to began looking at this and just tear into it leading off with an examination of the actual writing style itself which would ordinarily be a fair criticism but as it points out there on the website that he created it making this claim in the first place the person making the claim didn't actually write it. It was written by someone else who did some interviews with him. That's that's the claim yeah p._r. Agent that the supposed- souto she hired to represent him yeah. He's not especially good. Writer is worth pointing out. There's quite a few grammatical mistakes and things of that nature that you wouldn't expect somebody with a p._r. The nakimora who created bitcoin breaking bitcoin has the technical capabilities to create eight more robust website. I would think so. I would like to believe that is his but evidently he's making the claim that he is in fact saito she she and he lost the nine hundred something thousand bitcoin that he was supposed to have saying that they were on his hard drive and he lost it well. He claimed in the article just to give a little more detail that the hard drive that had the nine hundred and eighty thousand bitcoin lean on it was sent to a repair center because something went wrong with the laptop in question toshio komodo could it repair his his own laptop contention and of course the contention that he wasn't smart enough to back up his wallet all it with nine hundred eighty thousand. I mean at that time nine hundred and eighty thousand bitcoin probably wasn't worth a whole lot but regardless he did not do do any due diligence on this whatsoever could not repair his own laptop. Now you know if a motherboard fails on a laptop. That's a tough one to to repair. You got to get at the same board and switch it out and you probably want to have a repair center do a job like that generally. It's a little harder to work on a laptop than it is. Say you know a desktop sized computers so they're taking out the hard drive. That has your nine hundred eighty thousand bitcoins on it is not any more than four screws well inside the device. Yeah i've seen backs of of laptops take several screws to to remove but regardless you know the claim being that <hes> he just left this hard drive in his laptop and then they replaced the hard drive when doing the repair job on the laptop and afterwards he was just he doesn't even mention in his story that he even tried to call them. He didn't even the way the story is written. Stroz sorta shrugs. It's gone. I guess he didn't even like if i'd lost something like that. I my first thing would i that i would do would be to call all circuits city or whoever it was to sheba or wherever it was sent and say <hes> yeah i'm gonna need that that hard drive back but to also so be all sorts of development papers technical writings and things like that on this laptop that he would probably also want independently of the bitcoin in his value. He did claim that the hard drive was encrypted encrypted well. Maybe the numbers of the universe told him that he's this is not it was like he saw that he did it at best. "Which is difficult for a small time vein. Exactly, he has for more to lose by doing that then a large chain stores. Even gets a bit of flack for causing frustration in the view of customers and because he doesn't use drawers and people get upset, you know, and he takes it on the journey carries on anywhere. Educates yawn, another before, forget it, forget, I wanna make is on the point of using stroz. It's just there's a fantastic example year of active citizenship in that. Hi lites the difference between responsive but at verses verses rights, so we all have the right to use plastic straws you. It's your rights, democratic right? Is the responsible thing to do? So as an active citizen. That's just a good example, for me of like the difference between rights versus responsibilities. And that's what I like about small businesses, you'll see the chains. They react, very, very slowly until the bottom line is actually hit a small business is a community. They are members of the community. They get it straight away. They make a change immediately. You looking at hang ten cafe looking at June. You looking at a few other shops who've made a difference, but the chains and they say profit margins than anything perhaps and ons to my question Hon in about what we can do as active citizens. We might not be able to stop check his policy through economics, but we can keep knocking on at the door until they show bag out of this world to actually do something that also knocking on one's door, until they do something is fine in twenty nineteen with the state of the world in its, you know, its current state of affairs. We get a need to knock harder. So what I mean by that. There's a certain manager of. A certain restaurants. I went mentioned in the beach, I've approached him in my private capacity. Three times now for smoking and putting a cigarette. Butt out in the drain outside the restaurant of explain to them, you know, safe and ocean. Take my kid out there. I would assume and have my kids impartial. Cigarette butts come onto, like, like, please try to conscientise him explaining it in educating discussing he's e- continues to do this. So what happened now is once I get my involvement point by the city await for him. And all this you find. And then you can feel it in his pocket, because fortunately, we actually have bylaws which do you know, protect against that. But someone has to force them. Right. So as we come to the end of this podcast, current Bevan oversight on you big picture. You guys rioting in the in the news, all the time about how big problems. So give us a just a bit of an oversight on what, what you see going forward. I think that and the thing to counter in contact is this learned helplessness that people. Have with believed that they don't make a difference. You do every single time you buy something every single time. You act, you will make that difference, and you can do it by example you can do it individually and that is, actually the only way change happens is by those individuals things so take hot. You're not alone there, and there are a lot of people who actually really want to make significant change do it. I think we're taught to decree through advertising and big corporates that we don't matter and that we're just consumers at the end of the day. We will stop consuming certain products you hold the power. And sometimes it works. Let me give you a quick example. There's been a whole thread going in on Facebook about one gone keeps on popping. He's a paraplegic at lakeside, pick and pay and people started dissing him our on the call them Russian trawler, node was, I said the skies and people just kept quiet. And so I, I connected with him and actually went to house and visited him don't force gonna do the based to do what they can. But they want us. Got brainwave through my radio. I have Jonathan echelman customer services director of pecan pay. I'm what septum and say, this is the situation should call me now. Call them. He said, this is disgusting will instruct my manager the to give his cell phone number to the people in wheelchairs. They will put plastic cones and prophesying each the I mean, someone comes the phone, manage will come and speak to customers is the paraplegic people, and they will chase all my customers and to do something about it. So now it's not a major issue, but little thing when you if you can get to the right people, and you can put enough pressure things will happen. Just don't leave can pay with a block of cheese accident in the bottom of your body. Kevin warned Kevin, you'll final thoughts. All that's going on in the world. Today's reflection of our collective, and where we are, and how we feel about selves, if we can work on solves improve our cells, we can love selves more. We will love the world more and it will change it will definitely change. And I think a big takeaway from this is what you've made a big point about this Kevin net is when we see that slurry and Siri and plastic in those canals, and we say, oh, it's neighbors up the road that actually is a reflection of what is flowing in vain, Al communities. We consider ourselves to be above and to be keen and all the rest, we apart of that problem. So guys this has been a longer than normal pod cost really interesting. A lot of points of come out of it. "Lines. Luckily, again at Basel because over time what happened during this blockade was two things. One we've seen it. Reduce crime is one of the most popular reasons, these El Paso wins are in favor of operation blockade crime goes down. Now, it's hard to tell whether this is actually because of the blockade, but there's a reduction in petty crime something like fifteen percent for the local residents. That's the bottom line and second thing. And this is way more surprising with it for Mexican Americans who'd been harassed by the border patrol presence in their neighborhoods. They start to notice that agents any more the agents were gone, right, right? It completely cleared them out. Because now they were all down on the border. Waste Management to buy Advanced Disposal for about $3 billion in cash

"Let's begin with some trash talk on Monday waste management announce that it's buying smaller rival advanced disposal services for around three billion dollars in cash. Now waste management is the country's largest provider of waste management or some of us say trash collection and guys you may not know this. But it's headquartered in the great city of where your hometown MAC? Houston, texas. Go stroz advanced disposal is the fourth largest solid waste company in the US. And on news of the deal. Guys. Shares advanced disposal up around eighteen percent right now waste management up around two percent. What do we think looks like a good deal to me? It's a small. It's a smaller companies certainly than waste management, but but not small as you said three billion dollar equity value. They'll take on almost two billion dollars of debt from the companies. So that makes it a total deal of four point nine billion. The company has around three million residential and industrial customers mostly in the eastern half of the US. It's it's a nice tuck and acquisition, obviously, they pay the a a decent premium for for the company to get it. But it doesn't appear to be an exorbitant price. I think they believe they'll be able to wring out about one hundred million dollars of expenses when the two companies combined. The dreaded words synergies was used twice in one sentence in the press release. You're not. We we try to says we shy away from that word around here, but hundred million dollars of expense of cost savings. Sounds good to me, and I I like to steal. It's a nice talking about these kinds of businesses. They have a lot of high fixed costs if you can acquire these companies that are reasonable prices. There's you you can get those costs of effectiveness, they're they're very sticky. I mean, like, you know, once you you kind of are part of a waste collection operation like that. That is the business that you are using them. Right. So just just some numbers. Right. So they paid for as Ron's head four point nine billion. They about three million customers that's about sixteen hundred per customer. So you think about how much you spend, you know, for your your trash hauling waste collection. Business are actually hoping and expecting those customers to be around for many many years, and they will be so for company waste minute management is at forty three billion dollar company. And you know, it's a pen five billion for this. They're taking on. Guess I got some debt for this. Because they don't have a lot of cash on the balance sheet waste management Dylan that does not have much cash. So they're going to continue to kind of run a levered balance sheet and get the cash flows from and be able to pay down the debt. So a pretty good deal. I think

I think you have almost the entire meteor. You have the entire democrat party, you have teachers professors, the detainment people all working together pushing this Russian collusion hoax. These hoaxers are the same people that pushed the global warming. Hope they're the same people that pushed the defeat of communism hoax. These three major hoaxes DACA be proven were totally false. And they're hoaxes. It's basically the same movement to Toco elation of democrat and Republican globalist its internationalist, which is the communist, the socialist Marxist. It's a coalition of people on the left and they've been successful until people like Alexander crazy, oh Cortez came along. I think she kind of blew it by being too forceful with her socialist, Marxist agenda. One more thing the Trump presidency and these couple of years you have the hundredth anniversary of the Soviet revolution. The two hundredth birthday of call Mark. And this year's one hundredth anniversary of the founding of the American communist party. Now, they thought they would have victory. They never thought Trump would win needed that. I to tell you the truth, and I am so glad that Trump came. It's almost like God sent him to save this country. So we are in big trouble. But we have a chance now if we could get people to realize the Russian collusion hoax. Global warming hopes hoax that the feet of communism hoax is the same movement. And now, they're they're exposed. And I totally support. Mark levin. I think he's one of the few people who really really understand this. And I've been inside the communist movement for over half a century. I could talk for hours and hours, and I unfortunately, we don't have the time. Jimmy, but thank you very much for the call. Anyway, what Mr. stroz acted with Lisa page, and what we find out Andrew McCabe admitted to which is that they try to take a a Kuni targets president nited states a a failed coup. That's a police state police state now the thing about it is that the media's not outrage over this. Because a they wanted them to be successful be they would be fine with a police state. That's how the left can really get their way all their kookiness. They wouldn't have to worry about their green new deal passing in congress, which it never ever would. But that's the thing. Their ideas never pass in the legislative branch ever. They always have to do it through the courts or through some sort of executive Fiat always that is why they would love a police state to institute all their left wing kooky climate nuttiness as they worked at destroy capitalism and take over your life. So you what to eat and what not to eat? They would love it. And to be able to take away the rights of their political enemies to silence. You to silence me, they would love it. That's why there's no outrage over the fact that we have a police state in this country. They're rooting for it.
