Who Is David Israelite, Head of National Music Publishers Association?

"The country's in an interesting place right now, David. And what I'd love to do to start off here is just give us a little bit about, you know, you said you went to law school at Missouri, but tell us a little about where you come from and sort of how we got to where you're at. You know, a little bit today and then we'll go back and pick up some pieces. Sure, so I grew up in Lee summit, Missouri, which is a suburb of Kansas City. Parents moved our family there after being born in Chicago as a young kid and so I grew up in Missouri and loved politics. It was the kid in high school that carried the briefcase and wanted to be in Washington. And I came to Washington in college as an intern for Missouri senator named kit Bond. And it was during that internship that I knew that's where I wanted to be. So I ended up coming back to Washington during law school to go to Georgetown at night while I worked in the Senate. And then after practicing for a few years, I came back to be that senator kit bonds top aide in the Senate, around his reelection campaign, and it was during that campaign. I got to know a lot of the folks on the governor Bush team pretty well. And so when the 98 Senate reelection was over, I then went immediately to the Republican National Committee as the political and government affairs director to work on the Bush presidential campaign. And had two years there, which was thrilling, obviously, you know, a successful presidential campaign. And when that was done, the other Missouri senator was a guy named John ashcroft, who got appointed to be attorney general and asked me to come with him over to the Justice Department, which I thought would be a short term kind of fun stint before getting back to my life and instead, 9 11 happened soon after we got there and it became instead a calling where I was going to stay there with him and I did for four years. But during that time, we stood up a task force on intellectual property and the attorney general was kind enough to let me share this task force. And that's really what got me into the music issues is that I was looking at it from the side of the government, helping protect what was going on at the time, which was mostly theft of music, theft of movies, and that's what really peaked my interest into an industry music, which I had always loved.

"Much up for about an hour last night and then we stop staring into it and we scored a few goals and all of a sudden. I think that everything is going to be absolutely perfect forever forever and ever it got bleak last night it got dark. It's amazing it's almost like. Us soccer twitter jayjay. It's of all like the twitter spaces. I think it's the most manic roller coaster ride. It's crazy is for for people who don't follow a lot of us soccer accounts or whatever like it's a crazy place. And i think last night we actually at halftime had a manager. Change greg bear halter. He was fired on. Us soccer twitter at the end of the first half. Then after the subs anthony robinson's go. We played three minutes without a manager. But after robinson's goal bear halter was actually rehired and finish the game out as manager. So he's now back in his second stint with us soccer and it was very interesting as well for an hour and starting mls players. Terrible idea what are you doing. Joe bed better terrible. We smelled and then for the last twenty minutes. It was like land. That i love stand beside. Mls son guide its players to the national team. "So you're you're working a staff job and you're thinking okay. Is this just me slowly dying. And i'm getting paid and there's a comfort and security in knowing that there's a regular paycheck distress over finding work all the time but then there's no real fast way to get ahead right. Yeah i mean there's there's always move out to up that's kind of what we do In our industry but then you just end up at another job. Kind of just biding your time. Until you think you're ready for a promotion or a pay raise or something and then you just move somewhere else at. It's it's just like a slow predictable path and it's not very appealing when i think ahead like ten twenty years. Yeah and how long have you had this job. I've been at this job a belt three and a half years which is about the the average stint that. I'll i'll be at any one place i see. So you're coming up on that and you're getting the aging yen. Okay let me ask you a couple of questions. Are there a lot of job opportunities. In nebraska there are I live In the capital. Which is lincoln. And i work in the biggest city which is omaha That's where berkshire-hathaway is based at of. There's there's a lot of industry here. There's a lot more design in advertising. Things like that than i would have ever imagined when i first moved here. I'm i'm originally from southern california and you have this. Perception of the mid west is just farms and cows and All that kind of stuff. And i've been shocked. At how much designed there is here. Okay so there's plant it's a healthy job market for a person with creative services or craig's skills right. Oh absolutely okay all right. Do you feel that. You have to stay for certain reason that i need to stay in my position I don't feel any compulsion to stay. I can't say in all honesty that this has been the best job company culture that experienced in. Gosh like but twenty years. I've been now all the stuff i mean. It's it's it's rare you know so it's the idea of of leaving it for really anything else especially another company. That's kind of not appealing. Because i know what the alternative could be like and that this is rare. So there's that part of it that's that's teetering me there and i mean they pay me well. Giants' Scouting Director Michael Holmes Comments on MLB Draft

"I'm john shea national baseball writer of the san francisco chronicle and it's a perfect time to welcome the giant scouting director michael holmes to break down the players. He selected in the three years. He ran the giants drafts. Who's looking good. What's up with the top guys taken in this year's draft. And how does the giants versatility at the big league level. Translate undrafted so michael scouting director of the giants after a long time. Stints with the oakland as you've been with farhan zaidi. The past three years leading the drafts. And there've been some intriguing draft draft. So far i mean you had the full forty in two thousand nineteen and then because a code you only had five picks in the twenty twenty draft and then this year twenty six and the draft was wrecked during the all star break held in denver so every year is a little bit different for you in a wondering. How how you adjust from year to year and Because the game has changed and everyone has to change with the game. But how how did that. Make your job different. Well i think this year was an insecure navigate just because One coup the challenge of cova players over the last calendar year. Not having played as much Not as many reps at bats innings on the mound Us not maybe being able to build some of the history. We've we've been able to in the past with some of the players But i i thought it was a whole art. Staff overcame those obstacles. You know really well and we were able to able to get a lot of looks on on the players that we had interest in. I also think it a challenge of the draft being pushed back from date standpoint You know having the introduction of mlb combine was a new a new twist to the draft. Which i thought went really well. And they'll be a really nice job putting that on putting together Thought we got a lot of benefits from being there intending

My Husband Told Me To Quit Undressing In Front of the Window

"My husband told me to quit undressing in front of the window. There's no place like home when you stayed in a motel. You're standing naked in front of the window again. My husband said then. He closed the blinds. You're probably thinking if you know me at all that this doesn't sound like me to be standing naked in front of a window and you're right at sixty eight years old. I don't gyrate nude for all the world to see. But i had a perfectly valid reason for dressing with the blinds open. The motel room was dark as a cave. Maybe my vision is failing. But i don't think so. I can still read the fine print and the eye doctor confirmed last week that my eyes were doing great her words but i have spent huge amounts of time in motel rooms recently and they are dark. I begin turning on lamps as soon as i swipe my keycard and crossed the threshold. And i don't stop until i reached the air conditioner control panel on the opposite side of the room by this time. Six twenty watt lamps glow dimly because six dim lamps only succeeded in throwing faint shadows across the room. I thrust aside the curtains push back the blinds and let the light poor in the view from the motel window is never much a parking lot or maybe a retaining wall one time. We overlooked a construction site but at least sunlight can seep through illuminating the room. Enough for me to tell if i've grabbed my black jeans or my blue ones are first motel. Stint of the summer was in minnesota. Because we went to visit kids and grandkids. We even took some grandkids from georgia with us so they can visit their cousins. For three days. I accuse the georgia grandkids of accidentally packing my swim bottoms in their luggage.

"Before we start diving into all things about you and your career. We'd like to get started with lightning round just for all of us to warm up questions. Quick answers are you ready first job on your resume or while if i go all the way back. My first shot was fourteen. I was a camp counselor for a summer. Camp in virginia was the coolest job ever. Because i got to play with kids all day and had a lot of fun. Worse job on your resume. Here's the weird they. I have loved that i've worked. I would say if i had to rank them probably my stint at pizza hut. Yeah i learned. There's an art to assembling the pepperonis in a certain order where the kids were pretty hot. The tips weren't great. But i found a way to have fun with it. Do you have any secret hobbies or skills. I'm really into movies. And when i do have free time. I like watching kind of weird random movies on all of the streaming platforms kind of been a little bit of a of a release. What is the hardest interview or panel. You have enough. Yeah you have to news team for. I would say the hardest one was that final debate. Kristen welker moderating and trump in biden and it was hard because it was so consequential it was hard because we were also in the process of planning for election night coverage we had just done a town hall a week or two before that with trump a for that with bide so it was all of those things happen at once on top of it being one of the most important interviews so to speak That i've ever worked on but when you get to work with someone like kristin it becomes a

Clippers Trade Patrick Beverley, Rajon Rondo for Eric Bledsoe

"The clippers have reportedly acquired veteran guard. Eric bledsoe from the grizzlies. They will send patrick. Beverley rajon rondo and daniel otaru to memphis and the deal. This'll be bledsoe's second stint with the clippers. He was drafted by the team in two thousand ten and spent his first three seasons in la. This is mostly a money move. It saves clippers thirty million in luxury tax and it creates eight point three million traded player exemption that they will have a year to us so it gives them some flexibility moneywise bledsoe's going into his twelfth. Nba season the average twelve point. Two points three point four rebounds and three point eight assists per game last season with the pelicans. He was traded to the grizzlies before the draft in july. So think this is a good move overall. Money wise for the for the clippers. And you also get a good player and eric so people were kind of freaking out like us too much eric. What's it like. This is cleared up a lot of money with this. Also the way patrick. Beverley season ended with a clipper. That's something the way. Push chris. "Has tested positive for Rabies. You'll recall it began around 10 yesterday morning when a woman and her dog were attacked. Hours later. The coyote bit a 12 year old boy along a trail an hour after that another woman was attacked. All have been treated and released for their injuries. The dog is in quarantine in the hunt for the coyote. The animal was first shot by a Rockville police officer, but it escaped. Then to Montgomery County Police officers using thermal cameras found it and killed it with a positive Rabies test result. Anyone who had contact with that animal is urged to call Montgomery County's Health Department. 8 11 might civil unrest prevent voters from casting ballots on November? 3rd worries about that scenario had the Justice Department and FBI taking more precautions than usual ahead of Election Day. 2020. The Washington Post reports that the DOJ plans to set up a command center ad F at FBI headquarters to monitor conditions nationwide and, if needed, devised a federal response. Washingtonpost National Security reporter Devlin Barrett, one of the authors of Today's article. Joined Shawn and Hillary earlier with the details, but first our their national security implications after President Trump has been admitted for a multi day stint at Walter Reed. Well look, obviously, the president has not transferred authority to the vice president, a magic key point and that suggests a level of stability. In the process, but but any time the president spends days in the hospital dealing with an illness that injects a level of uncertainty into this whole process, and so we're gonna have to keep tabs on whether his condition changes. Hopefully he gets better. But, you know, going to the hospital for several days is a big step. It generates some uncertainty and what you have to worry about. The government point of view is all these agencies have to maintain what the work they're doing and not get caught up in the president's help. They have to To be able to run in function on their own to deal with any national security issues as they come on, and speaking of the agency's devil in that takes us to what we were talking about federal agencies planning for a possible violence during the elections. Is this different from what was done during previous elections. It is similar, but it's more intense. So it is. It is not uncommon for the government to have a command center to keep an eye out for potential problems on election Day. What's different we're told this year is that because of all the unrest we've seen through the summer because of all the confrontations we've seen in the street that they're much more focused this year on the possibility of physical confrontations or violence. On election day or thereafter. And so they are planning for the possibility. Hopefully, it doesn't come to pass for the possibility of Muchmore confrontations many more confrontations. Potentially than in other years. The proud boys group is the one that's got the most attention in recent days. Is that the scene here that the proud boys perhaps is on the radar screen. It is a concern. It's one of like a whole panoply of concerns they have for a whole bunch of groups. And look as we've seen in recent months. Groups have very different views are in some cases eager to confront each other on the street, and that that is the concern and how how does the government adjusted that especially if it's happening in more than one place? All the same time? That's Washington Post national security reporter Devlin Barrett. In Virginia's 2018 midterm elections. Democrats were able to take three US House seats away from Republicans, and now it's looking like Republicans are at risk of losing yet another seat this year, Virginia's fifth congressional District in the central part of the state is usually safe territory for Republicans. Definitely district that favors Republicans, generically not so much this year is the race between Republican Bob Good and Democrat Cameron Web is now labeled a toss up by Sabato's crystal ball at the University of Virginia Center for Politics managing editor Kyle Conduct. Sometimes the parties will kind of tell you through where they're spending money, what they're seeing, you know, I think it's some ways actions and money means more than words, he says. Outside Republican donors air suddenly pouring Money into the race, signalling that they think good may be in some trouble..

It varies by county really, Newsom says. When schools do go back, everyone in third grade or above, along with all personnel must wear masks. It is encouraged for Children who are younger than that. Jessica Rosenthal Fox News In Ohio Governor Mike DeWine says he does not have a state wide mass quarter. But money counties do have them in place. They we have 60% of population of Ohio. "Here on the fat eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six said Chris a few moments ago brought up the idea of job chamberlain being somebody who could fit this description now I don't think is the worst example I think you can find some validity in the example but I'm gonna give you two that I like even more what about Aaron small and Sean Shehan and your Yankee fan you remember these names well two thousand five season Yankees get off to one eleven in nineteen store and they need starting pitching help what von they size ends up being hard news a total staff chair ride ends up being a total staff an errant small and Shaanxi cone lifesavers Aaron small was like undefeated Alexa Levin and one is the Anke store Sean Shehan pitched a like I sold three already and paid still money stored in game four of the American League division series against the angels the Yankees do not win the division that year if it's not fair and small chunks of Colin and both guys basically fade away the following year Erin small giving out the Jon Cohn giving up but the two thousand five in the second half of the year is instrumental as it gets to me those are better examples job at least out of five or six year career with the Yankees who's on the team seven eighty nine get certain twenty that panel Levin came back in twenty twelve and pitched in twenty thirteen the job a pitch for a long time with the Yankees compare those to Erin small insurance account exactly what I'm looking for that's it in Jackson New Jersey Jordan is out next the joins us on a fat was added in Jordan what's going on George was saying about yes so I have a lot of names at the Dolby football but you know this is not coming by for the giants fan but I think the prototypical you know one one hit wonder has to be David Tyree no guy who was you know number four receiver on that team not only has that they catch but also if you remember at that big touchdown catch earlier in the quarter as well and then got hurt in the off season and never really became anything well the Tyree example because David Tyrese claim to fame is obviously the catch in Super Bowl forty two one of the more remarkable plays one of the more remarkable catches in the history of the super ball but yeah I mean the most part to David Tyrese career he's a nondescript special teams player he's a fourth or fifth wide receiver and not only that Superbowl those who make the believable catch scores a touchdown again for goodness sakes yes I now have some more names you know obviously Matt Flynn has that one big game at the end of the season turns into a huge contract and then Russell Wilson totally takes over that job and we never heard about him again masterful and my goodness and I remember when mad flame in the two thousand eleven all season going to twenty twelve Jordan was the guy everybody wanted there were some people making the argument he and Peyton manning were available I'd rather have mad fully into because the pains neck condition I mean how silly it take was bad and he ends up going to Seattle and normally use on a quarterback who's coming off the game he had with Green Bay who is you know the second most sought after free agent quarterback do you think for sure he goes to that next city he's the starter on disputed week one Pete Carroll and the Seahawks were smart enough to realize Russell Wilson was better and a lot of teams in that case Jordan would not have started Russell Wilson out of the gate the Seahawks said that hell would start Matt Flynn Wilson is aren't it he's better he's our guy and long story short the rest is history yeah and now these two guys you know I had a lot of the could be injury played a part and they were also high value guys going and had a great first year in the NFL and then totally disappeared the first guy RG three obviously with the total star the first year we know what happened to him the other guy in I think it's dangerous you know Trent Richardson had an unbelievably first first good year with the Browns and then also totally disappeared with the total box I love the orgy three example now you're right about **** Richard said he did have a productive first season as a member of the Cleveland Browns they made that great trade with Indianapolis where Indianapolis gives up a first round pick for Trent Richardson and ends up being a total nightmare is Richard said bombs for the rest of his career but we see this running backs all the time warning backs flame out running backs disappear or G. three in two thousand and twelve I was looking like a future star he had all the makings of being a guy who is going to be at the top of the sport for a long long time I remember you had that great game against the giants on a Monday night on his NFL career starts off with a bang I want to say it was down in New Orleans they won their first game many took the Redskins to division title to open the playoffs got hurt if you remember in that playoff game got hurt against it was all Jeez who did they play in the playoffs I'm blanking on this it was it was not the I think it was Seattle I want to say they took on the Seattle Seahawks that day and Jordan was never the same player yeah definitely now these three quarterbacks obviously you know their their claim to fame as the playoffs but really never turned into anything outside of the playoff runs with a you know you know were able to produce Nicole I know with two separate years and but so far Jacksonville did not look well in with nothing before and so far that hasn't produced after Jeff Hostetler and then people as well I mean you know he was a total star after throwing a touchdown you know against Pittsburgh and everyone was saying what's gonna happen next within the next thing you know the Broncos sign either pay manning and he goes to that and you know get straight to the jets and his career went down I like the TiVo example more than the Nick Foles example and I'm gonna tell you why I joined and I appreciate the call Nick Foles for whatever the reason has had stints with the Philadelphia Eagles where he has been a very productive quarterback that was the case when he was a starter back in two thousand and thirteen when he came in a league then of course he comes back is the back of the course in Winston close on one of the more improbable playoff and Super Bowl runs you're ever going to see then does it the following year see more type role as the eagles get into the playoffs beat Chicago and easily could beat the New Orleans Saints so I will be Nick Foles necessarily easy one hit wonder he's got a one city wonder it's Philadelphia he goes around he stinks he goes to the Jaguars he can play Nick Foles is illegal is legendary people example I like bill because it was such a flash in the pan now if you watched any of those games during T. ball mania you will wear the fact they won some of the more wacky empezar a fluky type games that you're ever going to see I mean you would dial like thirteen not in a Miami Dolphins they get onside kicks they win this call X. sixteen unanswered points to seventeen unanswered points that game against the jets we know what happened the mile high air jets traveling short week not a good look not a good C. but I think many figured after that Pittsburgh playoff game there would be a place for ten people in a week he gets smoked you Millie aided and embarrassed by the knowing the patriots the next time now is basically if people his career went to die with the New York Jets the patriots problem in for a hot second maybe with the right coach it would've been different for people not as a starter people should have been used the way Taysom hill is used in the walls that to me would have been the perfect way to get the most out of his skill set the problem is Tim TiVo had no interest in being a guy was kind of doing a little bit is a little bit ad and you also had the call following which didn't help any team that brought in ten team all we saw was with the New York Jets there was this colouring of people demanding for him to be the star he just didn't have started be an alien have genes he did have the skill set full story wild W. one I wonder but not a guy's gonna have great success is on full quarterback said about Holly New Jersey the great CJ he's up next these on a fallacy J. Nolan R. J. Jefferson court were mentioned Oman wrote that he was a bullet then went to the next you know why your manga which trade you know who the player was that basically replaced my role in the back corner of the boats Jeez I do and I'm blind I get a name cool name Jeez CJ just tell me before I I have an opinion about that the new year who's that girl should near here who is still a guide that I know from my body Jeremy who is a web guy with the wizards for great great amount of time introduced me to fill great guy easy to root for Bob was a broadcaster for years really nice guy yeah you know he was always very cool and by the way those bulletins of the seventies we're really good but the base with the guy and as you know the only got one short chip well one was underrated players in NBA history a guy who gives lectins historically expect basically well over the age what a terrific NBA career no question sejak he was one of the better power well it's not an error of course in nineteen sixty eight it was the best player like yours G. let's talk about we well students UCL G. in this day that's what the what hi regular season game and that's G. W. history what I know about that bird and magic might have something to say about that regular okay in a regular season game that's fine because I was gonna say when you're talking about a title game bird magic that title game with Indiana state Michigan state off the top all right well let's get you know what you're going to be a great quote that's actually going to be one of my players are you drink which management you still there of course you remember question of when we start to catch up with them but you can also change your account tab of the news based way one hit wonder also we only had one really great year he did not change that well nothing before so I'll put him that Sinclair I think Japanese absolutely belongs in a category C. J. now obviously his career because of the stuff off the field should be much different turn and it wasn't a question of injuries but it was a lack of performance that led to Capranica losing a starting role with the San Francisco forty Niners and basically the only time in which he was a top notch quarterback in the league was the twenty thirteen season where he takes over for Alex Smith and plays great over the second half one more cheese Green Bay leads the Niners back against the Atlanta Falcons and then of course they end up losing in the Super Bowl two John Harbaugh in the blackout came down in New Orleans so I'm okay we throwing column capric in there I think it's a fair name to bring up log in here about what we even better than this guy was actually the.

"Get hints and tips every single week as well as previews of the shows that are coming up okay so today let's put it when we talk about shows perfect yesterday we have Chris bricklayer he's CEO and co founder of mind the R. you'll find that at and why and D. V. R. dot com and that he had his own journey in the field of entertainment and on air that brought him among other expertise of his to co found mind V. are so Chris again just give us a little bit of background how you came to this very interesting idea of bringing a virtual reality into hospice hospitals perhaps assisted living space sure and even at home by aging in place systems so how did you get to this the stage of technology and and why it's important to you well you know good good question and I think for me I've I've had a twenty five year history that's kind of blended across technology I'm from internet early days of the internet and working in cross Europe and and in the US helping to build what is now sort of the internet backbone worldwide back from and also I had a chance to run a production business in Hollywood for about nine years and and had a couple of stints in tech and Silicon Valley and this lasted in Silicon Valley I actually got a chance to start working on with the oculus on a very interesting project around music bringing music into the immersive space my co founder Sean WIAA it so happened to be we were friends for twenty twenty years plus he was running at an organization and in Texas that was managing about a hundred skilled nursing facilities and I can talk to John and a number of years and he was talking about the implementation of music and memory using iPods in allowing people with in disease state with cognitive impairment to you know have personalized music list and things like that I thought of self fastening senator I'd never heard of them before and I've had family members struggle of cognitive decline obviously we all have and and what I was doing a music with virtual reality what he was doing in the practical sense of helping to improve people's lives we got together and settled why couldn't we take music into virtual reality for the for the aging population and do something really special beautiful and that was kind of the up because of how we got started and then after we kind of built initial prototype of platform we realized obviously there's all kinds of other therapies that are out there that are very useful for this population that we can bring into virtual reality and what happens is you see technology really benefiting this population because you can have all these therapies and a sickness and and a platform that's more cost effective for an assisted living facility for instance to take you know a busload of folks down to a concert hall which some people like to travel some people don't some people can't you can bring that concert right back to them in their own room or in a community area within a assisted living community so the economics really start to work when you add an additional therapies on on top of that so that that's kind of been our vision and in parallel to that the technology has just been exploding over the last few years and really two thousand nineteen marks the first year I think where there's the very affordable all in one headset that part loaded with cords and cables and plugging into computers or have sensors on the rooms and all these other things they're all in one headset that allow for very ease of use for the administrators in assisted living homes and it's very easy for seniors to pick up and and start using the system so yeah you know it is a real real real time yeah it really is when mission and technology meat it's it's incredible thing to watch and I see that a lot of different arenas and the music is one of them just make a couple comments I've worked with a wonderful guy doctor he does he's a conductor doctor David to walk in and he created something called conductor size and we actually had it on a radio show with a with a video where folks who had dementia in an assisted living facility with listening and he was conducting and you should have seen it you would never have guessed that these folks had dementia and some of them very impaired but no they are they got the music and they got the movement and of course we are tracking that with your with your partner is something called memory and music where the most forward thinking assisted living and memory care units will actually make sure that the family members will tell them what is the music that you are of your loved one really enjoyed with me into Gilbert and Sullivan everybody knows them US trustee of the children saw in society here and they play it and it makes a difference but putting it together with the visuals with with virtual reality is really really an amazing possibility and and I have to we we have about a minute because I have this is a tough question why isn't it being picked up all over the place is it just too new because obviously there's our ally it's kind of cost effective yeah well it didn't go well I I I'll take you know Hey this much we are we are seeing about it ten times more interest level this year in two thousand nineteen then we saw in two thousand eighteen so the word is definitely getting out their mind our company has done a lot of work with senior publications over the last year to really help educate and build this awareness for this you know we are up against the wall of the association that B. R. is for kids just like you said earlier yep so we have to have a convincing argument and and and talk through why this is very very useful in the aging process that's not a very hard discussions and and I think we're we're starting to see a tipping point of higher level of interest and also saying look far more organizations looking at their budgets and saying this is a really good use of the funds because it improves the quality of life he it's it's a it's a great amenity to have at at at an assisted living right see here yeah it really it really is yeah I mean if you're it will if you're gonna take it one day to your home it I don't want to you what you want all that has some excitement right yeah yeah I will be in at eight am and I want to talk a little bit and we're gonna talk about life engagement in travel as soon as we return don't go anywhere you may dial don't.

"Plus, they don't see that either. Even though I know he's got Laker ties. Right. He was like a scout. Or something point then Luke at plus three thirty three in K. Mark Jackson, my friend and colleague at two hundred. And then Jason Kidd is the favourite at plus twenty five. Now, you coach Jason Kidd goes Jason his coaching stints, though, didn't go so great. It did not. Yeah. You know what? That would be interesting. You'll Jason Kidd here coaching. I I see Mark Jackson more, Jason Kidd. Right as a coach here. Play with Mark Jackson in Indiana. We got a lot of respect for him. Jay, great person. I think he would fit in pretty well. As as a head coach here, but another name that I think should be on the list. There was no news Brian show. Yeah. Says Bichon should be on? That list deserves an opportunity Louis. Yeah. But yet Mark kind of plays into right because. Whoa. Just said recently right on one of his TV shows that. Magic wand say Pat Riley type which means that there's no Pat Riley tight out there and Phil I don't believe it's coming back either. I don't so. And plus he doesn't get along with LeBrun. There's that part of it too. But I do believe that if you're looking kind of quote unquote old school Mark fits that a little bit, right? Because he's from that boulders you right? Even though he did coach the warriors team with some young guys on it. Right. So, and I believe Mark can learn from that experience there things that I'm sure he'd do differently. And I feel like that make some sense because of the line of thinking that the front office would have with the guy who would come in next. Generally. If you go in this happens in any sport. Right. If you got like a players players coach, Luke you go with like someone who's a little less of a player's coach with the next guy. That's generally how the see-saw tends to weigh right. You want somebody totally different. Personality right, coaching style. And things of that nature. I think you're right with Mark Jackson. You know, if he got a second opportunity, I think he he would learn a lot about the things that he did in the past probably wouldn't make that mistake again. Right. Like, I said, I know mar personally, he's terrific person. Very smart. Very intelligent guy basketball mind, if you just listen to his analysis on TV when he's doing games, you can tell you understand the game of basketball Trine, we will. And again, let's go back to that Golden State team that he coached for a few years. He prep. They were they were primed to take that next jump before. He got fired. He really got those guys to a point when he lost the San Antonio. New next year. They were going to be tough to beat. Because again, it goes in that process of get into the playoffs. You lose first round next year. You get to the finals are the eastern or Western Conference finals and in your prime to get to that right at NBA championship game. So I think he had those guys already set in prime for that next step. So I think he would be somebody who urban could relate to extremely well respect in obviously MJ would respect the heck the heck out of my Johnson at the top of that list. So I think it would be a pretty good match. Yeah. It'll it'll be interesting. I think he's going to be someone that they're absolutely going to consider when they if in when they do part ways with Luke, and if that ends up being the case, then they're gonna look around. Look some Kirk Morrison brought this up now, I think this would be a ridiculous longshot. But he said why not at least make the call to coach K? Why not? Yeah. Would you gotta lose nothing? Right. You got to. I mean, I know he's got LeBron's respect. Yes. Right. Yes. You know that he coached Brandon Ingram. Yes. So I think that that plays a role it he coached the guy was going to be a free agent named Kyrie Irving. Yes. Well, actually coached all these guys in some way or form pretty free agency, either the US USA or Duke..

"But Blake also more. Most importantly has a podcast called the jump around with Blake Dudan, which is fantastic. Make sure you check it out last. But not least what if my good friends. Shelly till who is an analyst for the big ten. She is a graduate of university of northern Iowa. Her daughter actually played for the Iowa Hawkeyes. She's been a coach had several stints actually as a coach in assistant basketball coach at Bradley head basketball coach at the university of Wisconsin Platt Ville. And and Shelley also has her own company as a keynote speaker where she travels in speaks to soon athletes at different colleges universities, but she's going to be our big tin aimless on this podcast. So I am excited right now to have this big ten conference conversation with our roundtable, all of the big ten experts at least they are going to be for this show. So guys let's start with what is going on in the big ten. Okay. That's a broad question. But you know, we come into the season. Obviously, we get a glimpse at Maryland early. We're like, okay, Marilyn's good. And then Michigan state starts rolling. And we're like, okay. Michigan state beat Oregon. They're obviously going to be you know, a great team. And then we go move onto Minnesota who thinks started twelve no well as of right now, none of that is panning out other than the fact that Maryland is number two in the conference to Rutgers. Of all people who is number one at five. I just can't figure this league out. I mean when you look at the rankings Indiana was there for like a stint Michigan's beat up on some people. I don't even know where to start please, please is the league just that good or is it inconsistent. Or what exactly is happening right now. I'm laughing 'cause it's really China. It's highly multiple personalities going on in this conference at the moment. When really simply. Yeah. You know, I think I think you also have to go back just just how this year began. And and didn't I think it's remarkable in the fact that it didn't begin that way? Like everyone looked at it as two horse race between Iowa Maryland, he looked at all the preseason polls. Those were only the two teams that were being talked about from the big ten, and I really think that the stage was set with a really good conference season..

"Can hear his show locally they're covering the Green Bay Packers who have just hired Matt leflore, and I have to ask because you look at leflore background three different stints as a quarterback coach to as an offensive coordinator. And just one with a full one full season of of calling NFL players under his belt. Does that quarterback coach gig and his connection to that position lead you to believe that this was mostly a hiring done with Aaron Rodgers in mind. And is that smart when you've got a veteran quarterback who can maybe do a lot on his own versus, you know, paying attention to a much more terribly ranked and problematic defense. Well, the clearly went into this planning. Outgoing offense. Right. They interview ten candidates eight of them had offense of backgrounds only Bryant Flora's, and Chuck Pagano. We're defensive-minded head coach candidates. So they obviously wanted to go that direction. I think part of it too was that they really liked Mike Patton as their defensive coordinator this year, and they were hoping that he would stay on. It sounds like in talking to a couple of people outside and inside the building at that is the plan for Mike petma- stick around Matt leflore. In fact, even mentioned his desire to do that in his interview, apparently with Mark Murphy and Brian to come. So what it's all about making Aaron Rodgers great again. And I am of the belief that Aaron Rodgers skills have not diminished significantly or even a small amount maybe a tiny little bit. But the more significant thing was that this offense, obviously was struggling that his relationship with Mike McCarthy was not what it was. Several years ago, they had the very public situation where after they beat the bills twenty three to nothing on September thirtieth Rogers step to the podium and basically ripped the game plan and talk about how they had a non playoff at and other should've put up double the number of yards. They had and double the number of points. And after that, you kinda wondered if the handwriting was on the wall Mike McCarthy lasted eight more games before he was fired. So I do think that their thought process was we have to get Iraj IRS back to being Rogers, and Matt leflore must've knocked it out of the park. And the interview he really quick five words or last you think Aaron Rodgers will have respect for a guy as young and inexperienced as him. I do I think that he wants to be coached. I just don't think. Sincerely, wanted to be coast guard. Awesome stuff. Thanks so much. Jason. Appreciate it. Artemije pick every Jason willday coming up four teams. Look good on wild card weekend.
