A Conservative's Take on the South Carolina Democratic Debate

"I think it was really easy to pick the losers from last night's debate then the winners and yeah as I said CBS Los Gayle king whose make and I don't like fifteen or sixteen million dollars a year as host of the CBS morning show he's made a fortune that's Oprah's friend Gayle king I don't dislike Gilkey I actually I actually like Gil king I think that she's had some decent interviews where you know she's gone after some serious issues I do not dislike Gayle king to be quite honest but though she's also she's lapping Norah o'donnell numerous times regarding your salary I'll tell you that right now but they both lost they lost control very early in the debate I don't think they ever got the control back the cross talk is I played that montage of some of the worst of it the shouting the arm waving the finger pointing it just didn't look good it'll be on the ball right in front of Lee came across the best that he's locked in quite a while maybe the entire campaign Colbert show are I think a good command I thought Colbert shar had the most steady demeanor on the stage I am not a clover shore fan able clearly I I I'm not voting for any of these individuals because ideologically I disagree with with virtually you know what everything they believe in but I can still recognize the clover shore who is a moderate that she had probably the the most solid demeanor and looked to be the most adult on that state and like I said border judge he through March but he just didn't do anything he fell flat as far as P. bridges last night R. yeah and when was it doesn't help Byton if Colbert sars look and get a fairly decent help fight in that the that moderate lane you know S. what she was thinking at the moment in regarding a clover shore you know got you know nearly clocked by the Thomas fire you know when they got into it with Biden she was stuck in the middle and you know Colbert shar I think that Snyder's hands it with his waving and swinging I think the clover shore almost got mail and she was asked you know what she was thinking at the moment she told CNN that she was afraid she was going to get hit by Tom Sawyer then she laughed and said that her first thought was well he has deep pockets Colbert shar he got a pass on the clover shore as been accused of being a pirate clover shore as been accused of being really nasty and condescending to a staff nurse screaming at a staffer because Stanford and give her like a a fork with her salad wonder I mean just crazy crazy crap the black voters by Thomas Stiers is amassing in South Carolina are being taken from Joe Biden I so I need you you at Tom's tire that's that's getting a a base of some African American black support in South Carolina and you know they're they're being taken from Joe Biden but the bottom line Tom started could should stand a chance in hell Tom sires got zero chance at all and that was it has he Italy's come clean with himself is the honest with himself that he's not going anywhere and he's spending you know tens and tens and tens of millions of dollars has he kind of settled up with himself that he's not going anywhere with this whole campaign and is the money just making them feel good by spending it just just out of curiosity Bloomberg yes was better than he was last time but and he sucks so badly last time animal fat saying so much he doesn't have a personality can't tell a joke he can't deliver unprepared line very well with you know any authenticity shows absolutely no empathy for people that don't have sixty billion dollars I still say don't discount Michael Bloomberg I'm just telling you don't discount Bernie was hit but Bernie was not knocked down he wasn't trampled with golf cleats I mean didn't really come out bloody it is what it comes down to I mean there's just too many candidates taking shots at him for any of those shots to be fatal really it was just kind of dispersed if that makes sense to you now Warren took a one shot of Bernie mostly focus the attacks on Bloomberg and of course the the the killing the baby audio we'll get to that coming up in

Bloomberg qualifies for next Democratic debate`

"When you pull is qualified former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg for the next debate of democratic presidential candidates set for tomorrow night Michael Bloomberg will finally be face to face with the other candidates vying for the democratic presidential nomination thanks to a new N. P. R. P. B. S. newshour Marist poll out today the polls show senator Bernie Sanders in the lead with thirty one percent and Bloomberg at nineteen percent followed by former vice president Joe Biden at fifteen percent and senator Elizabeth Warren at twelve percent Bloomberg will face off with all those candidates plus senator any club ashore and former mayor Pete but a judge at tomorrow night's debate in Las Vegas philanthropist Tom Stiers still hoping to qualify ahead of his plan book release former national security adviser John Bolton is sounding the alarm about possible White House censorship well speaking at Duke University for the first time since the impeachment trial against president trump Bolton hinted that the book contains big revelations about the Ukraine controversy complaining that the White House is suppressing the book trying to keep sections classified they're still in dispute over that Bolton said he wrote about things from told him and stressed that he hopes those details are allowed to become public he added he tweets but I can't talk about it health there

Sanders Cements Front-Runner Status After New Hampshire Win

"Phase following Tuesday's New Hampshire primary senator Bernie Sanders won the contest former south bend Indiana mayor people to judge finish close behind him followed by centering the clover char senator Elizabeth Warren and former vice president Joe Biden this victory here is the beginning of the end but Donald Trump vulnerable Americans do not have the luxury of pursuing ideological purity hello America I'm Amy clubbers are and I will be Donald Trump we have beaten the odds every step of the way former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg looms and he is making overtures to African American voters I think we're going to do very well and in the African American community they need a good economy they need better schools and those are the kinds of things that I can bring him Josh you've been on the campaign trail with mayor Bloomberg all week can he get over his stop and frisk policy from New York and win over African American voters in South Carolina but more importantly perhaps in super Tuesday states in early March I was really stunned to see the number of African American supporters that showed up at his events this week as we were with him in Tennessee and North Carolina even in the wake of these tapes coming out and I asked them you know it is this something that bothers you and they largely said no I think there is there is an element that similar to Joe Biden where people feel like they know Mike Bloomberg because he's been on the stage for so long they say things like I know where his heart is but look there is Mike Bloomberg is a double edged sword in a couple ways the same elements that make him appealing as a former Republican because he seems like he might be able to peel off some trump boater center right Republicans make him anathema to the part of that democratic base that wants a progressive firebrand to push their costs and the same part of him that is sort of a a technocrat data driven let statistics inform your policy makes him appealing and and successful as a businessman and mayor also means that he says said a lot of things in his career that may be numerically accurate but are also very off color and and really run people long long way and may bloomers not the only one facing challenges with African American voters may have put a judge still faces questions about his policing record in south bend insanely senator any club which are on the rise from New Hampshire faced facing some scrutiny ever prosecutorial record yeah look I won New Hampshire are very different states from Nevada and the Carolinas in white very different from the states that will dominate on super Tuesday as well and for all the support we're seeing nationally like you look at the African American vote in particular right and no democratic nominee has won the nomination without winning the majority of that but it just doesn't happen everyone has been looking at former vice president Joe Biden but when you are a whole mess image is electability and you come in fourth and fifth in the early contests you start to lose ground we're seeing that already in South Carolina who's benefited from that so far in South Carolina Tom Stiers picking up some of those voters the Bloomberg is not conceding a lot of money on TV spending a lot of money he's messaging and all the right ways he's picking up on the people who are picking up on their own doubts about about Biden but nationally in the same national polls we've seen where Biden support among African Americans has been dropping Bloomberg has been stepping in to pick up some of those votes so it's still a very fluid race I was done and I was down in South Carolina last weekend I running story about Joe Biden there is giving certainly sees it as a far well it's a place where he has to turn around has to bring Afghanistan voters out I'm a lot of folks a mistake thank you still can I talk to Jim Clyburn this week because most prominent Democrat a mistake he says if you like himself today Biden when did you go to the polls a mistake by can still has a lead he has not endorsed with Steve Benjamin the mayor of Columbia of the capital there said to me if your heart given select ability if you're coming in third fourth and fifth in the state photos of a start taking other look to different people he has a he has a foreman and stuff you want out of black pastors and state legislators and others who were with him right now the question is if they see momentum fading what do they do it what about Bernie Sanders the Vermont senator he won New Hampshire Kenny stitch together a coalition especially as senator Elizabeth Warren struggles on the left well if you want to enter any near you very nearly one Iowa he won the popular vote in Iowa and so from his perspective he ought to be the overwhelming front runner considered that way and use it if you win the first two states you ought to be on a glide path to the nomination however I I think you there's a lot of caveats around that from visit the so called democratic establishment right is there gonna just I was when I was a lovely there is absolutely there is and and they are fearful that Bernie Sanders candidacy would not be electable and and that's on the minds of a lot of democratic voters as well that's why people are flocking to favor judging Amy clover charm my bluebird because they so desperately just want to be trump they're willing to forgive almost anything else no that's not true of every democratic voter but it's true of a lot of the non Bernie supporters and so they this faction of the Democratic Party the sort of mainstream of the Democratic Party is saying you know just because he's able to win in a fractured field with twenty five percent of the vote does not show that he can be the standard bearer for the whole party that he can broaden his appeal versus being just a factional candidates what's going to be his challenge going for to see if you can consolidate more the party around Josh I remember when I first met shoes at Pete booted judges campaign announcement south in Indiana a year ago you've been covering his campaign closely as well as a narrow second place finish in New Hampshire how is he capitalizing as he looks not only South Carolina Nevada but super Tuesday well he started to really ramp up his operations in other parts of the country he's says that he now is going to have staff in every state that is competing on super Tuesday what's the message though the message is that he is a coalition builder someone that can bring people together and that is some of these other candidates start to drop out in the field windows that he will start to consolidate some of that support from these other moderate candidates but one of the things that we've heard over and over again from voters the cycles were talking to them around the country is that you know in Washington we talk about sort of the progressive lane in the moderate lane and they're not thinking of it that way you talk to Bernie supporters who say you know my second choice is that people are judging talk to Warren supporters you say my second choice is Joe Biden and so it's difficult to predict how that's all going to play out as the field continues to get smaller senator clover char you've seen minority candidates struggle in twenty twenty in this democratic race female candidates have had a rough time with senator clover jar suddenly comes almost out of no where in finishes a strong third in New Hampshire Kenshi capitalize on that quickly enough to actually make a dent in this race and and be a contender you know we've seen her kind of step up to seize the moment in her own words there she sees that they have momentum she things are messages starting to resonate with what is that message right now it's that message of this is what makes sense to me that you know you don't have to go all the way to the left to go over this with a super progressive candidate you've got to have someone who can speak to some of these parts of America that voted for Obama NO eight and twelve and then went to trump in sixteen you had a midwesterner come into New Hampshire and do surprisingly well and that is a very strong message for her whether or not it carries her for we don't know she's not pulling as well as some of the others and about and South Carolina but she's got momentum on our side and that's at this point in the race that

The state of the Democratic primary race

"With the New Hampshire primary in the rear view mirror the democratic contest for the presidential nomination shifts west and south with Nevada being the next day to vote followed by South Carolina he can be the senior editor for politics and government Scot Shafer is here to talk about the state of the race and California is a role in it hi Scott Hey Nina so New Hampshire often clarifies the front runners but to what extent if that happened last night Bernie Sanders well it did clarify things but not as much as I would say is it does usually so yes Bernie Sanders people to judge clearly the top tier they're now essentially tied coming out of Iowa and New Hampshire in delegates it really put of course former vice president Joe Biden came in fifth he's really on the ropes and was with war and kind of a surprise her neighboring state she's from Massachusetts she came in fourth place behind Amy club which are so her campaign is a little bit on red alert I would save and it it definitely New Hampshire gave a new life to Amy club which are and we did see three candidates drop out and Yang senator Bennett for Michael Bennett from Colorado and of all Patrick the former governor of Massachusetts I'm not sure many people knew that they were even running but they are now out so in that sense it does narrow the field at the criticism of both Iowa and New Hampshire having so much influence in the races that they're overwhelmingly white the next few contests will be in more racially diverse state Scott so what does that mean for the various candidates well it means a lot I mean Bernie Sanders he is you know really the front runner right now he does quite well with Latinos he does reasonably well with African Americans but he's the only one in that top three from last night they can say that both booted judging Amy club which are of really really struggle to get any traction at all with African Americans and Latinos so now moving into these more diverse states they really got their work cut out for them Biden he's been really held up by African American voters but the question now is with you know two very weak for initiatives in the first two contests are they gonna stick with him or they gonna look at other candidates and if so you know who does that benefit Tom Stiers is kind of making a move in South Carolina he's been spending a lot of money there on the air waves and he's doing reasonably well with African Americans and then of course you've got waiting in the wings Mike Bloomberg who is also spending a lot of money not in the first four contests become super Tuesday he's gonna be a big player there as well well what do the results of New Hampshire and Iowa mean for the importance of California's March third primary well California has been like pining for relevance and I think finally this year we're going to have it I mean just to give you some context California has four hundred and ninety four delegates to up for grabs that is compared to New Hampshire which had twenty four to twenty times more delegates just here in California we're part of super Tuesday which includes states like Texas Virginia Colorado and Bernie Sanders is really well positioned here he's got a lot of union support he's got a great field operation he's got a lot of money but you also have Michael Bloomberg really poise for the first time on super Tuesday to make a splash he's spending tons of money on television he's got field offices and not just the usual places like Los Angeles and San Francisco but also stocked in Fresno riverside so he could be a factor as well you know California is now have fifteen million ballots that have been mailed out to them and the question is are they going to mail them in soon or are they going to kind of sit on them and wait and see who's left they don't wanna you know voters never want to vote for somebody who's dropped out of the race so you know they think California's really want to have their voice heard this time

Normally that's how low on the Totem Pole Mr Stiers. Oh yes and then Bernie gauge brushed off off but see this. This was what CNN intended. This was their show. Their entire show was Around Bernie and Warren and Dan this he said he didn't say that's what it was and they got a one point one extra million viewers because of it that was the whole that was the whole purpose of the debate. Bait everything else I agree was the worst ever but from that television perspective. They didn't blow it out right away. They brought it in about Quarter the way through then had another another tense moment and then at the end and they had to release this video with the audio after the debate because because the televised version didn't have the audio right so somebody snuck it. Oh Yeah Jeff. Zucker gave himself to the posted himself on Youtube..

Tom Steyer polling at 2nd place in South Carolina, qualifies for DNC debate this month

"Meanwhile what's going right for Tom Stiers the California billionaire and presidential candidate will be on the debate stage tomorrow because of his unusually high poll numbers his polling jumped in two key early primary states last week a fox news poll showed him at fifteen percent in South Carolina that puts him second behind only Joe Biden and he's tied for third with Elizabeth Warren in Nevada at twelve percent it'll bump joins me now his national correspondent for The Washington Post any right about how Stiers shaping the twenty twenty election hello hello well before we get a star let's just talk about Booker what happened with him essentially what happened with him is that he was never able to get real traction his campaign and there are a lot of reasons that's probably the case one of course being that the field is so big another being that there are other candidates who shared his his sort of broadly moderate space in the field who were able to get more traction people like judge from Indiana were really able to get to eat into that space and sort of present themselves as new in a way that that Booker had trouble doing you his is the story of a lot of these cameras which is that it it's hard to get in front of orders nationally and brokerages was able to do it right and he certainly complain that one of the reasons he couldn't get enough facetime nationally was the DMC the debate rules that the DNC put forward he criticized the rule saying that billionaire candidates like Styrum Bloomberg can really game the system because they can put so much advertising on TV and really attracts people in in Paul's does he have a point there is he's got extremely good point in that the DNC rules were created specifically to trying well we know down the field but by doing so what the DNC ended up doing an advert only was rewarding people who were able to make a very strategic massive investments in certain places I and punish those who weren't so well Booker did have a national a profile as a senator from the from the state New Jersey he was not able to for example spend the kind of money that one could to either influence individual polls or get his name out and ends and get a lot of small donors to give to his campaign and that limit is is rich well speaking of let's hear a clip of tape from CNN yesterday where Jake tapper is specifically asking Tom Stiers about spending money for poll numbers ninety one percent of television ad spending in South Carolina is from you ninety seven percent of television ad spending in Nevada is from you do you not think that it's your millions and the flood of advertising in those states that that's why you did well in the polls and are now on the debate stage Jake if you'll read today's Washington post there's a story about this and what it details is what's actually going on on the ground I've been to South Carolina multiple times we have eighty two organizers on the ground in South Carolina I match your grass roots person I've been there there's someone who didn't endorse me who's a politician in South Carolina who said expire came down here he rolled up his sleeves he went out he listen to people he sat across the table he work okay so feel of what's the truth there is it's the money buying the polls or is he actually doing the work to get the support I mean a I think it sort of gives the game way himself when he says he has eighty eighty however many organizes on the ground as organizes aren't working for free and you can you know Cory Booker didn't everyday organizes on ground is gonna forty eighty organizer's on the ground right I mean did tappers numbers about that TV spending or write us tire is dominated in South Carolina and Nevada television spots in the reason he's done so is very simple the democratic rule said you need to be at a certain percentage of support in the early state polls in the waste tires I'd do that was poor bunch of money in the states that so far other came it's like Joe Biden Bernie Sanders aren't spending money in because they're further down the line right but Snyder has the money he just sort of put a bunch of money into the states in advertising there he can put a bunch of staff in those states push up his numbers in those states and hit the mark he needs in order to make the debate stage but will that translate into votes when it comes down to it when it comes to Iowa to New Hampshire and then later to South Carolina and Nevada so far it hasn't seemed as though it's going to work I mean one of the things he's clearly trying to do is get on the debate stage but after his debate performances it's not as though he suddenly shoots up in the polls he still only about two percent nationally debates are obviously something that should be reflected in national poll numbers because there are national events of people tune into I think one of the things we're going to see is after Iowa New Hampshire we will see whoever does better in those states start to see more support in the next two states down the line though as being South Carolina and Nevada and I think that'll start to flood out some of the attention it's Dyer has bought for himself and it's certainly possible to maybe Stiers all out of the blue find today big appeal from Democrats nationally so far though even though he's managed to get on the debate stage he hasn't been able to make a case the really persuades lot national Democrats to support even though he was early on the impeachment wagon he took out ads along time ago basically calling for Donald trump's impeachment is that not translating into support in the Democratic Party now aids late hasn't so far I mean I think that there certainly was an aspect of that that was that was viewed by a least among political observers as being someone self serving was pretty clear that he was using impeachment of sort of get his name out there I that said even though he has your right for months you know well over a year and sort of blanketing the airwaves with his own image and this call for impeachment again he's a two percent nationally in the polls and that too if that we're going to have an effect would be reflected in those national poll numbers so he'll be on the debate stage tomorrow but Michael Bloomberg will not and why is that because he certainly has been blanketing the airwaves with ads right but in different places Bloomberg has made a conscious decision not to take contributions from people and that has meant that he's it's impossible for him to meet to debate standards which require a certain number of contributions from people around the country and as such will Bloomberg Astana's he's were largely issued the first several states that are gonna be voting and really focused on super Tuesday the first Tuesday March when a bunch of large states on a lot of states including California and Texas go to the polls so Bloomberg spent a lot of money on ads but he spent it in those other early states he hasn't spent a lot in South Carolina or Nevada and if you look at the rationale behind that it makes some sense there are a lot more delegates at stake in that first Tuesday March then it will be in any of the four states that come up before then so do you see Starfire as this campaign goes forward into super Tuesday DEC Stiers star waning and Bloomberg's taking off one I'm not even sure that the star has much of a start of Wayne and it certainly did well in this fox news poll on some other polls that that have been doing moderately okay but he's not doing very well as a candid Bloomberg being a part of lunch money in the race he's not doing particularly well either but I think the Bloomberg strategy is designed to pay off later in the cycle then is tires I animal I mean star has enough money to stay in and told the general election if you want to do which is something the Bloomberg says he's going to do is actually so I don't see our missile dropping out anytime soon just question how much money he wants the perk right so it ends worth noting that he's rich but he's not Bloomberg rich right it's like one point six billion verses fifty four billion yeah as Michael Bloomberg will point out very few people are Michael Bloomberg rich right well what does this say to you when you take a step back and look at the whole big picture of money in politics what is this a two year does money translated into votes can you say about this early well I mean obviously when we're talking about these poll numbers were not necessarily talking about votes I'll be interested to see if Stiers decent position and some is always winning states were pointed out to buy his winning in both those states right now it's gonna be interesting to see if it does translate that certainly has in the past in the case that people have been able to pour a lot of money into campaigns and do better than you might have expected but again that doesn't always hold driver Jeb bush in twenty sixteen add you know nine figures that he was gonna spend both directly and have people spend on his behalf needed terribly in the presidential primaries so so it's not a one to one correlation but it's clearly the case that we are right now talking about Tom star and Mike Bloomberg while we are at the same time watching established US centers like Cory Booker and Kirsten Gillibrand standing on the sidelines after having announcer campuses money definitely does by you the ability to stick around as long as you want

Ross's books just tremendous mine tremendous thinker but his wife Kathy have now written a book called always be ready a call to adventurous faith always be ready the cover is a gorgeous coverage want to read this one I just want the book because it looks so wonderful but I now have as my guest Dr Hugh Ross hero's welcome the program there you are thanks for it's a you're you're in Covina California I'm I'm told where is Covina California all it's about fifteen miles north and east of downtown Los Angeles all right then well this is not a typical book for you always be ready a call to adventurous faith first of all tell us what is this book parts of book one the medically based on first serve Peter three fifteen always be prepared with good reasons for the hope that you have been Jesus Christ share those reasons with gentleness and respect and if you do that god will supernaturally bring people to you that he is prepared in advance to hear in response to your reasons and you know people ask me why did you wait so long to bring this book out a man been an evangelist for the past four decades S. like I wanted to give people first those good reasons and so I published seventeen books kind of laying out what I think are some really good reasons for adult Americans today respond to the Christian faith and this book is cut like a capstone to them were saying if you've got those good reasons on your belt you're now prepared to see god do miracles in your life to bring people to hear that he's prepared to hear and respond by speak on seminary campus is a lot more running into why the Surrey professors who believes the book of acts ended with a first century that's not my experience the book of acts is happening today in the lives of Christians who actively share their faith moreover you look at the book of acts there is no conclusion it just ends so I tells me implies that this is the norm for the Christian wife as walking in the power of the Holy Spirit now when I just want to root for folks who are tracking what you mean I think is that the book of acts it talks about the the early church the church right after right Jesus ascends into heaven and he gives us the gift of his Holy Spirit and we see miracle after miracle after miracle healings in all kinds of things and as a result of those miracles come to faith in Jesus right but they're a lot of people often they call themselves cessation as you say you know what that ended once we got the Bible itself all that stuff and it all the miracles and stuff and people like you and me no that that can't be right because we've experienced miracles we've experienced them and we we know tons of people of experience them and we're we're not dumb where we're careful we're not you know we're not inclined to be fooled we want to know is it really Jesus and we come to conclusion it is and so we want to talk about those kinds of things but you are you're a man of science so you do you particularly don't take these kinds of things lightly you're you're very critical in how you judge these things I'm dying to know when you when you talk about this when you talk about having experienced these sorts of things what it what are you talking about give us some examples of what you mean well for example I took a young man who is a brand new Christian and there we were just going cold Turkey knocking on people's doors wanting to share the Christian faith for them and this is an evening where we knocked on twenty doors nobody was home or what they wouldn't answer the door and we said okay we're gonna do one more it was a really dark place and overgrown with bushes we opened the gate and there is a big German shepherd dog there and I turned out it was a five acre estate and so the dog Archerd as in the dark all the way to the front door we knock on the front door the man opens the door and says how did you get here we said well your dog showed us the way and he said did you guys see the sign at the gate excellent and the big sign said no we didn't see a sign it says that sign would have warned you that this dog is trained to attack anybody who dares to open the gate AT bark as said no we didn't bark is trained to bark at anybody comes close to the gate and Benny looked at as quickly and said you two wouldn't be Christians would you and we said yes and he said I said well why do you ask that because my wife and my three children and I have been praying this evening a god would send us Christians to show us how we could become Christians invited us into the house he asked a whole lot of questions he had some doubts that he needed to get taken care of bottom line was the entire family committed their lives to Jesus Christ at night a while the dog was sitting beside me and calmer was the dog never sits beside a stranger and so they took us out to the gate and there was this big sign warning as if there is a trained attack dogs on the premises and the young man that was with me said this is just like the book of acts god blinded as to the sign god spirit took control of the dog the dog I sure to all the way at the front door is that we would have never found the front door without the dog and the dog never barked and the five people the house said because of our dog we knew we had to listen to every word you said I mean that is straight up nuts that's my favorite kind of story I love that now I have to ask you why they weren't Christians but they were praying you said that that god would show them how to become Christians do you did you get any background on that because you know typically people who aren't Christians aren't praying along those lines well they have been going through some family struggles and issues that are typical of people were not followers of Christ and they knew they needed something and they heard about Christianity but they didn't understand much about it and so they literally got together all five of them as a family and said your god please send a somebody right that very night he sent two people to the I I just I find this the story the dog that's hilarious I was I thought you were gonna say they shot the dog because he hadn't done all the things they trained him to do thanks a lot dog we train we train you to park you didn't bark we train you do these they get into any of that stuff I think that they saw that that he was he was listening to a higher authority let's put it that way that's crazy now that happen in California that happened in California but the book is filled with stories were that's not just my stories but the stories of other believers literally all over the world I know my passion is a pastor is that every Christian would have these kinds of experiences and I basically tell people you want to see god perform miracles here's a guaranteed way to see god perform miracles in your life good reasons developed that gentleness and respect and sharing those reasons you'll see god doing amazing things and this isn't just a one off story that happens hundreds of times I tell people what happens of per six times you might think it's all a coincidence but after three or four hundred times you realize this is the Holy Spirit at work so you've experienced this sort of thing many many times many many times are bad they go one chapter just on airplanes stories and virtually every time they get on an airplane god opens up an experience and one thing that tells me that this really is god's miraculous hand over half the people I share my faith with on airplanes either of a doctorate in one of the sciences or they have a doctorate in theology and you and I know that doesn't make up half the American population this is a god knows who I am he knows who they are he puts this together a friend of mine came out of the Mormon faith and he says it's amazing how many times online on airplanes and I'm sitting beside a more men or an ex Mormon god knows your background he knows their background he puts people together it's so beautiful and it's so pickling courage in here this from you doctor he Ross because you really are a man of of science who has used his mind for many decades very carefully very precisely you're not sloppy when it comes to this kind of thing so it's really exciting to me you were in this.

"Our presidential campaign what is the beginning have an opportunity in Congress with a new perspective shaped by the lives that in our campaign throughout these last three months to bring about the kindness of America all that was congressman Eric Swalwell of California ending his run for the White House earlier this week but with one candidate out another one is in billion or liberal activist Tom Starfire officially join the twenty twenty race Stiers best known for his ad campaign calling for president trump's impeachment and now he thinks there's room for another democratic presidential candidate we asked five thirty eights Nate silver do you find that the door by the Democrats the more candidates well Tom star would be during the most crowded field ever he knows that but his challenges not just the field as crowded but as crowded with Canada Democrats really like one pull back in March found that sixty eight percent of Democrats said they were satisfied worth using gastric with their field and if this has only grown since then the top four candidates Biden Sanders warning Eris all have now we're going to raise a plus forty or higher among democratic voters what is really like those top four five candidates next being a billionaire might help Donald Trump when the Republican nomination but Democrats you have always with warm Bernie Sanders campaigning against the one percent I'm not sure it helps so much a democratic primary fire can emphasize impeachment and his anti Washington corruption message although only three percent of the public overall supports impeaching president from sixty one percent impressed you according to latest ABC news Washington post poll but the rush investigation and aftermath is it really a top issue for voters according to Gallup it's just the eighth most important issue for Democrats to vote in a twenty eighteen mid term someone more thing I don't want to reduce everything to race and gender but it is worth noting that only about twenty five percent of democratic primary voters are white men and yet about sixty percent of the Kerr canning so far are white men so if we can ever gonna make a big splash running for president I might that on someone like George is Stacey Abrams instead

"Yesterday we announced that Derrick Swalwell of California was dropping out of the race for president of the United States on the democratic side and then we find out today must be some water would have to use the word billionaire these days and every story billionaire hedge fund manager Tom Stiers has announced his plans to run for president says he's going to spend at least one hundred million dollars on a White House run wow so one down and no one jumps and I think that's twenty four next democratic presidential debate he probably got in because he'd saw the last guy got I'm a billionaire after all the next democratic presidential debate is July thirtieth and thirty first in

"Well for all those were waiting billionaire tom stiers in the twenty twenty race he's a late entry in the democratic presidential primary contest even though the first one of those is until february he made a fortune in finance if you recognize the faces because he spent a fortune plastering the airwaves with his own commercials calling for impeachment for months now rather than donating the other democrats he figures he's now the best canada to be trump as for the democrats the math is simple to win the senate and a point their own majority leader they have to make winning the senate a priority absent that they try to defeat the current majority leader and indeed mitch mcconnell now has a challenger in a very every red state of kentucky he is being taken on back homebuyer marine retired fighter pilot lieutenant colonel amy mcgrath she announced today she intends to deny him seven stern

Billionaire Tom Steyer enters crowded 2020 Democratic presidential race

"San Francisco billionaire and activist Tom Stiers made it official today he's running for president it is video announcements tire called the system rigged by corporations and the politicians to do their bidding the former hedge fund manager who has pushed hard for Democrats to impeach president trump says he plans to spend a hundred million dollars on his election campaign NPR's political correspondent and former KQED Sacramento bureau chief Scott dentro joins us and Scott Tom's dire is familiar to us in the bay area but is he known nationally did his impeach trump ad campaign succeed in raising his profile you know one of the big themes of the last six months or so of covering this sprawling primary is that even the people who I think are well known who are very well known to political reporters and people who follow politics closely really aren't that well known to the country as a whole so I think he will have a lot of work to do especially getting in the race so late in getting in a point where it's extremely unlikely he will make the debate in a couple weeks so he won't have that moment to introduce himself to the nation on TV what times tired does have is the email addresses of the more than eight million people who signed his online petition to impeach trump right there that is a list that you can start contacting and start out trying to fundraise off of even though you know as he said he's not could be doing much fundraising himself but he's got a large network to immediately start talking to so you've talked with a lot of voters what's your sense of how they'll respond to yet another democratic presidential candidate to be honest I don't think there are many voters out there who are saying oh my gosh twenty four candidates wasn't enough we need one more and Eric Swalwell the bay area congressman earlier this week was actually the first candidate to get out of the race so looking about the issues that Tom Cyrus talking about I'm not seeing many issues where he has a policy your stance that is an already well represented in this field I think he's going to have to have a big challenge ahead of them to make that case as to what he can bring to the table that Elizabeth Warren Kamel harasser Bernie Sanders are Joe Biden or people to jazz or on a non aren't already talking about well the Steiner seem to be trying to position himself as this populist progressive candidate what did you make of his announcement today it was interesting to me that he really didn't talk about impeachment at all and that's the thing that he's been focused on for the last few years Tom's tire has been involved in democratic politics for a while when he said several pet causes over the years he was a big environmental activists before that talking a lot about climate change which he certainly talking about now is a presidential candidate I'm wondering if part of the reason that star got in the race is that he felt like his voice wasn't being hurt as much once he'd taken himself out of the race remember a few months ago early this year Tom star said I'm not going to run for president I'm going to focus on might need to impeach effort and since then he really wasn't making the headlines that you make when you're running for president so I'm wondering personally if that was part of the calculus here well he's already made headlines by saying that he plans to spend at least one hundred million dollars on his campaign how much do you think the front runners are paying attention to that I think that definitely get their attention we saw over the last week or so the fundraising totals from the front runners in the race and they are no where near that amount Joe Biden and Pete chads the south bend Indiana mayor both raised more than twenty million dollars and other than that the other leading candidates are all in the teens so a hundred million dollars certainly way more than that and that would buy sire the air time the staff that he would need to make up that lost ground of of sitting out the first six months of this race Scott dentro NPR political correspondent thanks for

"Nancy Pelosi house has a big wall around it. You know, dancy really really likes walls. It says around her mansion her home sits atop a twelve foot high wall. They keeps your well. Above the riffraff that are ultra-wealthy fellow millionaire neighbors, she does live in neighborhood like that. Been in is incredibly wealthy. But the picture it's a big beautiful three story Queen Anne home with wall around it. The only problem is it's not Nancy Pelosi's home. Oh, so just so, you know, don't don't spread that Tom stiers home. No. It is some wealthy person's home. EA herman. It looks like constructed in eighteen ninety four most expensive house on the market in two thousand thirteen sold for twenty four million in twenty fifteen but it's not Nancy house. Herman just, you know, an author EA Herman. I guess I'm just looking up here. I guess. Herman writes. But it it doesn't appear there. Actual house has a wall around it. Still that doesn't make any less hypocritical office have a door on it. Yes. It does our house. Her her house also does have walls, you know, that should be knocked down. I guess because walls are immoral. Right. Walls on your home. Jilin have a wall around her home, but our home is made of walls. And so I don't know why she needs that shouldn't everybody come into our house who wants to why can't everybody just enter her house? What are you afraid of people are you manufacturing, some sort of criminal element in your mind? Is that what you're doing? Great Nancy baby killer. Sorry. I'm where I'm trying to out. Yeah. It works. Triple eight nine hundred thirty three Ninety-three kind of a weird moment. At a jet blue kiosk in the airport, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood international airport. A female passenger just went nuts and somebody happened to have their course, as they always do somebody had their cell phone ready and started recording her I'm not sure what cetera off what airport is this again. It's Fort Lauderdale Hollywood international airport in Florida is that airport. They had a shooting at I think to gosh what happens what's in the water. So we do have the the airport meltdown or do. We do not gentlemen. Some of the passengers at the airport have been delayed for ten hours by a cancelled flight, but for airport staff said this woman in the video didn't have any kind of problem. Like that really weird. Do we have the parents not? Yeah. It got taken into the system and then vanished because that's the day. It is here. So you're going to tweet this out at pet unleash later and people are going to get to see this for themselves. And you're gonna love it on Twitter kind of love it. Gonna live it on the show. Seriously. One of those days. So we it's great. I everyone how you doing good day here at the place. So you just you know, you keep going just imagine the lady just yelling, you got it. All right. Yelling. And. The second version of the lady yelling and class over the counter at the ticketing. Now, you have in your head and I did. All right, good. Yeah. It's fun doing that sending stuff like that, man. That more often it was just talking about the Nancy Pelosi home that doesn't exist. There is a home that does exist and it's owned by major league baseball player Cole hamels. And is why this is so cool coal Hamel and his wife built this shoot a full mansion in Branson, Missouri on a lake, and it's I think one hundred acres of property, and it's almost a ten million dollar home and property, and they just gave it away to a Christian organization that takes care of disabled Christian kids, so cool. They just gave it to them. I mean, the barely moved into this place built it moved in. It's thirty two thousand square feet. And a hundred acres of property, and they donated it really cool Cole hamels of the Texas Rangers and his wife who I think was on survivor at one point. And so they just I guess just fell in love with this Christian organization and decided to to donate it, which is really pretty cool..

"I'm gonna try burger is my addiction donuts might be addiction. But I I got it's been a long time. Haven't had a doughnut nomad Donna Friday of an eating healthier again, jumpstart on everything and do my revitalize. So I haven't had a doughnut a long time. I do like Donut though, I do. I do what's not to love about a Donut. Right. Like, nobody says donuts are evil. They're not evil. They're tasty. Protestant bagel. That's what I call three two three five three eight twenty four twenty three at Chadbensonshow is your Twitter. You can tweet at us. And I love the Nancy Pelosi things. She is just this whole thing is interesting, as you know, she's she's ready to roll can cut deals so going to do all these kinds of things there. You know? It is interesting to see because Nancy understands what she has to traverse here. Because this younger generation that's coming into progressives. That wanna push to impeach Trump to do everything they possibly can to push this kind of agenda. Nancy gets the flyover country. They don't care. They're living in Manhattan in Silicon Valley delivered in Seattle the living in LA there live, you know, they don't care about the flyover country Nancy gets the long term thing. That's she understands it. She'll be Nancy still she'll fight. She'll she'll let him in on some stuff, but they don't care. And I think the fight between not only the president and the Democrats, but the Democrats inside is going to be crazy. They're gonna go at it. And it's gonna be funny to watch this thing breakdown when it comes to Trump because already who is it producer building say somebody's already ready to introduce articles of impeachment. Yes. Some Representative from California shock are not Tom stiers. So the fight is going to be we've played a trailer earlier suspense trailer of we'll put them up on the Facebook. And the website of what it would be like if it was going to be Trump versus the, you know, the Democrats the one hundred fifteenth congress gone one hundred sixteenth coming in what if it was a romantic comedy trailer. This Thursday the oddest couple is coming to town. Get it together. Nancy Pelosi administration.
