"Special sponsorships and other initiatives at grassroots level local weekly short tracks with the covert 19 pandemic in the way, it's affected the economy and such has that limited your ability to do those things in 2020. It has, and we've kind of paused everything that that we've done. You know, from a short track program says many of them, you know, it didn't start racing. Some of them didn't race. It all just depends on you know that that part of the country so obviously Ah, Lot has changed this year in the way that you go about things, the things that you, d'oh So you know, we were definitely just sitting back kind of waiting on what next year brings and and how everybody's going to tackle getting their race tracks back in line with a full season, so let's talk about the Cup playoffs. 57 playoff points. Top seed magnificent regular season. There's been so much talk that heaven. Harvick has all these playoff points. He's so good at Phoenix in particular. So yeah, Kevin's gonna breeze right in Phoenix and Boy, this is really going to be his year. Do you cringe as a driver? Are you suspicious of all when people start looking that far down the road? I know I can't look that far down the road. You know, I think for me is his way. Want to focus on what we're doing this week, and you know that starts at Darlington and ends in Phoenix. But there's a lot in between. That has to happen. No matter if you have A lot of points or no points. You know, I think it's It's definitely best to focus one week at a time. Reevaluate on Monday morning and get ready for the next week and know the task of hands so There's just there's so many different things that can go in so many different directions as you get to the playoffs and you know, having the different styles of race tracks this year will definitely play a role in how that goes. And you definitely wanna tryto keep yourself is focused on the current week is possible. You not only have seven wins already on the year, but you led the most laps in six off those seven victories is that the plan is we go into the playoffs. You intend to attack this and remain just as aggressive as you've been all year long. I think so, You know, I think for us that there's really no change in plans. I think you have to be able to try to perform in a playoff level. You know, really every week, if if you want to be able to Win races on a consistent basis, and that's that's what would be unfortunate to do this year. Rodney and everybody is Stewart Haas Racing has done a phenomenal job in preparing the race cars and being Prepared for just you know, a really awkward season and situation that has evolved into being one of our better years, so nothing changes. We're going to go to the playoffs and try to be aggressive and You're going to have to win races and you're gonna have to be capable of winning races. A cz you get through the playoffs, sir. And no matter what race track it is, you're gonna have to try to be competitive to put yourself in that position, so Same thing will happen in Phoenix. I believe you're gonna have to be in position to be capable of winning that race just as we've seen every year when it comes down to that championship race. "Place for me to go to since since I've got to go there for my first time in 2001 and we've been fortunate Tio have won our third break out 400 pretty pretty incredible. Tio think about the whole process on DH where we are today. Kevin Harvick with us As you mentioned. This was your third win at the Brickyard. You grew up. As you said, watching Rick Mears. What is it about the Brickyard that brings out the best in you? Is there something about the layout or just the fact that that's a place that as you said you've been dreaming about since you were a kid. Well, you know, I think when you look at since I've gone to Stewart Haas Racing, this is our This is our seventh year. We're fortunate to, you know, to win the Brickyard back in. 03 with Richard Childress Racing, but it really has been a racetrack. You know that we've been able to perform at, you know, really, since we started going there at Stewart Haas and I think as you look at the last couple of years, we've been able to win the race. But, you know, I think as you look back in the previous five For us. We felt like we definitely lost a couple of well with what we felt like it was the best car, but it's a racetrack that that the whole garage looks at it as kind of Ah marquee race. Teo kind of step up. Bring your new engines and things that you feel like I'm gonna perform at a high level because you're going to the world's most famous racetrack, right? So There's a lot of history and a lot of pride that comes with being able to win at the Brickyard and to be able to accomplish that, you know, with the team and a group of guys that are in there battling with you in a week to week basis, and we know how important that races and how much effort we put into it on a yearly basis in order to go then and try to win, so Be able to accomplish that is is very rewarding. Kevin Harvick with us here on Golden Window. Kevin earlier you mentioned, you know your guy's experiences a group with a limited practice time being something that helps as the schedules changed for you guys and everything about the preparation has really been different because of the Corona virus. I'm curious on the other side of this not having fans in attendance, certainly having more isolation less time unless, you know commotion over all around the race day experience. Has that almost allowed you to be able to focus even Mohr, like have there been benefits to this process that you guys are starting to feel this far into the season? You definitely have to learn from it, right? You know, I think a cz you look at the things that you're doing now, the way that we're racing the way that we communicate the way that our sport in general goes to the racetrack and You know, if you if you turn on the television on Sunday, and you look at the race, you would never know that we didn't practice or qualify unless somebody told you And you know, I think from you know, from from a sports standpoint, you have to look at that process and you have to understand. What you can apply to what we do going forward because of just like everything else in the world, right? You know, you have to look at it from a financial standpoint in order to make it you know a sufficient as possible. To make sure that the owners and everybody is getting the most out of their business on DH what they're doing. So from my standpoint, you know, I really believe that you know, doing this for 20 years is playing into our hands right now, because Most of these racetracks I go to. I know, I know Michael. Back of my hand. You know, I know where you know the lead off markers are nowhere. I want to be on the racetrack and, you know, I think for us as a team, you know, it's really baby to show the preparation and detail oriented group of people that I have working on my cars. In the shop for at the racetrack and the way that we have adapted to communicating through our computers and using our our team's abscond. The way that we communicate it as a team has really shown through. You know, not every week has been perfect, but usually by the end of the race, we've got things figured out. So the process is definitely different. You know, I think as you look at it for me, you know, having a family has definitely changed. You know the amount of time that I've been able to spend at home. I went on Sunday that last week Sunday morning is usually I go up on race day and I come back on race day You travel for the most part by yourself. You go to the bus. You walk to the car on de everything is by yourself. I got done this weekend. We win the race. We go to Victory Lane. They take the car and I'm walking around by myself and I walked. I walked out of the race track forgot to go out on the straightaway and kiss the bricks like you know, the traditional Indian kissing the bricks Because I didn't I didn't have anybody to help me pay attention. And so So, Yeah, it is It is you alone, and it's you know, it's a very different feeling, you know, not walking out of there with all that enthusiasm, walking out of there with all that enthusiasm and excitement from I'm winning the race on DH. You're so used to sharing that emotion with the fans and the people that are at the racetrack and now it's like you look around and you just don't know what to do. You feel out of place, but A sport. We're doing what we need to do to be on the racetrack and put on a show andare TV partners and radio partners are doing a great job, You know, to be able to put the events on and hopefully give everybody a few hours at home to watch some good TV of something that's that's not controversial. Certainly has been. The ratings have been really strong. What 46%. The Brickyard was up from where it was a year ago. Year to year Kevin Harvick with US winner of the Brickyard 400 then you know NASCAR was dealing with a lot of change and a lot of situations going on with the sport with the banning of the Confederate flag and the garage pull..

"Had a bit of a mixed bag on your Ford Mustang. I know you guys worked on the handling quite a bit. What kind of changes did you make from yesterday to today? You know, Actually, not many changes. We made all those yesterday during the race and boy, they were right changes. Holy cow! Was I in trouble? Starting off the race. Really, really, really loose, you know, and was like, Oh, my gosh, I'm big trouble, You know, going straight backwards in the only one When I looked up, it was bad. A shape as I was was the four car And then they kept getting better, and we kept kind of go in their direction on my Hey, let's keep going in that direction. They ended up winning. And obviously, you know, you do that as a team. A 10 car was really fast. And when you have a car like that, with an organization like Stewart Haas, you're able to kind of migrate that way. As much as you can during the race and then make those adjustments that you can't you know, Overnight speaking oven overnight, phenomenal job by all these race teams up and down pit road, every one of these guys you see out here? Another tired and they should be. How is that in a garage at 10. 30 last night is brought to the guys over some. Some lady gave me some cookies out there. I was, like well Come in. NASCAR reveals changes for short tracks

"There's a new short-track package in use this weekend. And for more on that here's them. Rn's Kyle rigging while a lot of attention this week at Phoenix. We'll be focused on the championship race. Being moved there and what teams can learn from this race. That will apply later this year. There's another change at Phoenix. A new short-track package debut in for the first time in twenty twenty Stewart Haas racing. Eric Merola is up for trying. Anything that will help. Make the short track racing better. I think it could make a lot of difference. I think it certainly could make the racing. Better I I. I feel like Nascar really achieved a pretty good package for the intermediates to where it's a lot more racy the car. The car's are closer together the competitions tighter and so now on the short-track count lost that. We had that with the two thousand eighteen package where the races were awesome. And we were you know. We're racing side by side and passing the lead and all that and then as we got more downforce The cars were more gripped up to the race track and and then it was a little bit more challenging to pass this year so I feel like the marriage of the two. Now we're having the high downforce high drag on the intermediates but then the low downforce on the short tracks is really going to be good For our season and for those short track races teammate. Kevin Harvick echoes those feelings and says this could help S. HR dramatically whether the tires changed a little bit since two thousand eighteen Very similar to what we had in two thousand eighteen. That was a great year for us at Stewart racing. And and you know for US. We have a different car even been. Finley had in two thousand eighteen with with the Mustang now. So you know there are everybody's got differences chevrolets got a new car Toyota's probably the only one that got that. Got The same car but you know there are enough changes. That's going to be different but I think with the lower downforce obviously with higher downforce. I don't I think it's pretty common knowledge at this point that everybody knew we needed a change on the short tracks for us. That's a good thing because I felt like short track program in our road for stuff was probably the report of what we had last year. So you know I think as as we go forward You know I think there's a lot of things that point to a lot of bright spots for us is that could be positive but like you say you never know until you get into it. But I think it's GonNa it's definitely going to create better racing. What we had last year. T. May in rookie. Contender sole customer is hoping the package makes the cars closer to what the extremity cars were like. Yeah me I'm looking forward to the short tracks. The changes that they made probably for the aero side of it is GonNa help the racing a lot from what it seems like from last year but at the same time. I mean it's still going to be a little bit new to me but It'll be closer to what the extremely cars were last year. So I think I'm really looking forward to that and seem you know what the short-track package is going to be like. I think it's it is something that could probably depth a little bit better to sentence probably gone meal. The more simple Kurt Busch breaks down. Why getting the racing right at short tracks is such a big deal. The easiest way for fans to digest it as at at the short tracks where we have less speed have hardly any downforce so the slower the track the more we're going to be sliding around the faster the track the more the cars are going to stick other than Daytona Talladega. That's different RESTRICTOR PLATE. Rules there so just think of it size of track the smaller the more they're going to be slip sliding around. Just it's GONNA keep us jumping around a lot and I love to see the same rule package work at all tracks but it just won't put on good show that we need to have the side by side is if the short-track package produces the desired effect. Phoenix race. Fan should be in for a treat. Come Sunday

Chase Briscoe confirmed at Stewart-Haas Racing for 2020

"Risky brisky is in studio. What's happening what's up chase briscoe nothing? I'm busy busy busy whole big time over here. I'll know about that has re upped with Tony Stewart at Stewart House Racing Gene Haas to compete again in the expended series. And I could be more exciting. I thought you were awesome last year in the car. You know got win in Iowa and I think you should contend for a championship. Don't you think yeah I think yeah pretty good you know. We don't have a ton of changes. I mean roles wise. It's the same. We have a new body on the Mustang. But yeah I mean there's going to be the first time in my career I've been able to go back with the same team in the same crew chief so looking forward to what do you think of the new pitstop procedures that were just announced. Yeah I just saw literally about thirty minutes ago but I think you you know at Iowa. I don't really think it's going to change anything but I do feel like at the road courses. It's GonNa Change them completely because there's no more short pitting anymore. There's no more flipping stages so so for me. I think it's a little bit worse. Because now you're going to have awesome syndrome out front in maintaining track position the hallway. So it's going to make it harder. I think to win the road course races because it's GonNa take a lot of the strategy out of it but it's hard to say right now we haven't done it yet so it's hard to say what it's going to be like but yeah I think it's going to be easier to maintain track position on a road course so fast on a road course. I think it's definitely a positive for you for sure. The move really helps money-wise for some of these smaller teams but the cup series teams were flying people into standalone races to do the crew and some of them have their own crews. I guess but a lot of the Rian flying flown end so that costed everything kind of brings that cost down but I agree with you. The road course racing is going to change that totally but as far as the racing product on track. It's not going to change that very much. Yeah I think you know it's not going to change the especially at the Iowa and the places like that Barocco where the fast guys stay up front so yeah. I think that's GonNa be the only place where you really see a difference in this new. Whatever you WANNA call? It rule changed. But I think it's going to be just normal Iowa and you can still pit when you want to pay it or whatever or you're just GONNA lose positions on pit road which like you said it's a good thing and it does definitely say the teams a lot of money if anything. It might make the racing a little bit better just because so you know if you have a guy like Ryan SEGER Jeremy Clements. That doesn't necessarily have the pick crew caliber of a pin skier Stewart. Haas if they can get up to sixth seventh or eighth or whatever or you know they can stay there now so dropping back five or six spots in a pit road so it's probably GonNa make the racing better the short tracks but you know it's hard to say I was going to do of course is this for you is. Is this the first time that you've since you've stock cars. You'll be in the same car two years in a row saint team but like same actual type of car era xfinity car in two thousand eighteen. I gotta run up not full-time. This will be the first time I've ever in two seasons full-time back. toback Gotcha so there's something to be said for that. I think a full year under your belt is going to be going to be good. Yeah I think you know last year specifically you know the first half of the year to the second half of the year was day now to be able to start the first half of the year where we ended the second half. I think

"Think they've got to get out of their heads. The other way a little bit while it's Kinda run into the whole organization Benevolent Boyer's bit problems to Stewart Haas has fewer wins inspired motor sports. I've never heard more people say that this week and naturally they're joking but it it is somewhat I think disconcerting if if you over there at Stewart Haas and you know you talk about Boyer mean three finishes on the last four races outside the top thirty and we're still waiting to hear on on his contract status beyond this year <hes> bad teams in the Tailspin and that's that's not to say that they can't pull out of it. I mean boyer had two wins last year and Stewart Haas certainly was maybe the best team overall last Rudolf Horvat drivers winning but that something is amiss there halfway through this year. It's interesting to me too because I feel like they had a lot of opportunities that they should have capitalized on early in the season and now they're paying for it because now everybody else is catching up all four Hendrick cars. I feel like three of them. Definitely lately are faster than three of those s H._r.. Cars weekend and week out so not only now. Are you dealing with you know to penske cars and to Gibbs cars now. You're dealing with those four cars plus at least three from Hendrick who were fast that you have to fight with every single week on the racetrack so it's kind of a change in position a little bit you know you're there more people you know eating from the same plate and there's less to go around so to speak yeah. It's it's going to be an interesting next eight racist to be sure no doubt about it all right. "It was tremendous every one of the accidents that we've seen who are hard, got airborne. The impact has been different so that go back, and they'll look at it and just make sure this was an isolated incident. It's not something that we need to make wholesale changes all the cars across the board. We had the big three last year. Right. And this year we're talking about big tube in terms of organizations. I still believe Stewart Haas racing are going to be a really strong force this weekend. I'm fascinated to see how the Pocono doubleheaders Jenna work in. I predict if that works. You know, I could see them noon that at other tracks your rally auto parts. Pit reporter on VR in the performance racing network. Rock and Roll Hall famous Led Zeppelin. Bring us into good times. Bad time five away. Rock and Roll Hall of famers cheap trick played In the in pre the pre. wait, man. Can you get up there and do a little? I want you to want. That's totally differently. Pull that off. There's been many night to AM played air guitar that yes, I'm story. All right. Good times. Bad times from the all-star race. We'll start with Alexis Alexis gives somebody that or something that represented a good time. Okay. Well, I'm not sure how we could start this out without saying, of course Bubba Wallace. We talked about him already in the opening segment. But just everything that he's kind of been going through over the past few months. You know, the story that came out a few weeks ago about how he is battling depression, all of these things. I just think he had not only did he raise his way into also race. But he finished fifth overall. So I think it was a great night for him. And I'm sure he was pleased with his performance. You know what? That that's, that's huge. But I go, I'm gonna go with William Byron and. Alex Bowman and chase Elliott those guys they were good top five top ten cars, and I did not expect to see that. I really didn't I expected to see obviously the Steuer hostile obviously, the Pinski stuff obviously, the give stuff. I just didn't expect in this format and then this race and those guys. They're more. I think of William Byron is being more. He didn't grow up running a mains and be Maine's and see Maine's and run and sprint races. He grew up, you know, an affinity card and then in the truck car. So he's a long-term player. So I, I think I was that, that's a good for me. That's a plus for me. Maybe I don't I don't think they turned the corner to be a winning winning organization as of yet on a weekly basis. But that was a big step college. Stay with you. Let's get your first bad times. Bad times. And this is gonna throw you off. Okay. I'm ready yet bad times is colors. Okay. I am thrown. Yes, unrealistic expectations. You talk be main. We talked seeming he had to race his way in do a. C. A. D. A. B. C A B to get to the a and the a ends up being a sprint race. And what's he known for sprint races? They don't run sprint races in their long-term races. And that's been the knock so are the expectations that they have turned their program around a fifteen lap race. And I say, no, I gotta see something long term. I've got to see a longer term race to show me that they got the monkey off their back now. Is that a winning team for sure is cow a linen driver? I sure he is just having stinking luck just terrible. Can't seem to break that off his back. But for me, they may have created some unrealistic expectations. I'll buy and even when we talked to him, an interview you'll hear shortly he says I've done really well in this race. Yeah, never. That's the same in tally. It's kind of. Yeah. I mean especially because he, he made mention of the fact that he's racing three different kinds of cars here this week. So, you know, an and only one of them is going to go, six hundred miles it'll be interesting to see if that translates into success for him on Sunday night, or Alexis. What you got in the bad times category. Well. Yeah. I'm gonna go..

"Us, and you know, Harvard cat some major issues getting through inspection on Sunday. It costs them and engineer it cost him. Well, starting spot and actually got a huge break because he had to come down pit road under green. And because the caution came out on lap to actually got the lucky dog almost immediately. But he ended up having as we've talked about other issues, but you know, it's just as kind of beg the question. What is going on over at Stewart Haas Amine after Texas Harvick was really ticked off because he finished eighth which was the worst of the four or start off teams. I think a lot of teams would love to have four cars in the top eight and have the guy complaining about Batty finished. Sure yet. What's interesting earlier this year? And I think Dustin you might have been there. We went to Hendrick, and they they had a Hawkeye there. The teams have all the same inspection equipment. Now that NASCAR doesn't you push the envelope. But I find it interesting that even with this information that weren't able to do it. And then they couldn't fix it. I don't know what what you do again. I'm no mechanic. I don't know. What happens? Nascar says you didn't pass. They're going to tell them what's wrong. And so I don't know. But it is ironic that that the penalty actually helped him at the start and then the rest of the things that cascading day of of issues thirty six other cars passed inspection. H E eight trion. There's your cliche. You know at some point you gotta get through inspections and get on the racetrack. So yeah, it's it's been an interesting year for that number four team. "Announcement of Daniel Suarez will dry for Stewart Haas racing in the number forty one Ford in two thousand nineteen more Nate Ryan on NBC S N that he was in a really dark place for about a month of last season. After he found out that he wasn't gonna be driving the number eighteen in the future. Martin tricks junior. The two thousand seventeen Cup series champion, of course, coming over to Gibbs racing and taking Daniels ride Daniel said he didn't really have a lot of knowledge going in to that situation ahead of time. And he learned about it virtually everybody else did. So as he put it for about a month. He was kind of an angry person. And and I think feeling like, hey, what's going to happen here? And I did all this work to get to nascar's premier series. Will I be able to stay and fortunately for him after that month passed and things started falling in a place that was with let him here to Stewart Haas racing where he got named the driver of the forty one today and how unusual? Is it for a driver, especially with Daniels? Relative lack of experience at the Cup level to make a lateral move at such a high level. I mean from Joe Gibbs racing Stewart Haas racing. That's pretty big. Well, you know what? It does seem unusual, but there is a template here. And and it's right there in a Stewart Haas racing teammate for Daniels for is an Eric Merola. He, of course, came over to drive the number ten car last year and became a winner instant playoff contender reached the third round. So I think for Daniels, whereas it is a little bit unique to go from one powerhouse NASCAR Cup team in Joe Gibbs racing to another in Stewart Haas racing. But I think his expectations are very high. I think he thinks that the twenty one thousand nine rules package. We'll we'll help him. He mentioned the all star race and the Pocono race last year as in which he felt like he did. Well, so I think Daniels whereas looks at his teammate at Stewart Haas racing now in America thinks that the seasonal Merola had last year in two thousand eighteen winning and then making the playoffs that could be something that could happen for games. "Daniel Suarez will drive for Stewart Haas racing and the number forty one forty two thousand nineteen more. From Nate Ryan on NBC S N that he was in a really dark place for about a month of last season. After he found out that he wasn't gonna be driving the number eighteen in the future. Martin tricks junior. The two thousand seventeen Cup series champion, of course, coming over to Gibbs racing and taking Daniels. Right. Daniel said he didn't really have a lot of knowledge going in to that situation ahead of time. And he learned about it virtually when everybody else did. So as he put it for about a month. He was kind of an angry person. And I think feeling like, hey, what's going to happen here? And I did all this work to get to nascar's premier series. Will I be able to stay and fortunately for him after that month passed and things started falling in a place that was with led him here to Stewart Haas racing where he got named the driver of the forty one today and how unusual? Is it for a driver, especially with Daniels? Relative lack of experience at the Cup level to make a lateral move at such a high level. I mean from Joe Gibbs racing Stewart Haas racing. That's pretty big. Well, you know, what it does seem unusual? But there is a template here and the and it's right there in a Stewart Haas racing teammate for Daniels. Whereas and Eric Merola he, of course, came over to drive the number ten car last year and became a winner instant playoff contender reached the third round. So I think for Daniels whereas it is a little bit unique to go from one powerhouse NASCAR Cup team. Joe Gibbs racing to another in Stewart Haas racing. But I think he's expectations are very high. I think he thinks that the twenty thousand nine rules package. We'll we'll help him. He mentioned the all star race and the Pocono race last year is racism, which he felt like he did. Well, so I think Daniels whereas looks at his teammate at Stewart Haas racing now in Eric Rolon. Thanks, the the seasonal Merola had last year in two thousand eighteen winning and then making the playoffs. That could be something that could happen for games. And I don't think if you look at last year's performance their house racing all four cars were pretty good. They all one. And I don't think there's any kind weird team pecking order there at Stewart Haas racing. Obviously Kevin Harvick has the most talented crew chief in the bunch. "Well, I was way off with the teams valuation to Forbes what I say the fifteen for a hundred and forty million dollars. All right. So yeah, just a little bit just a slight amount off if the team is worth one forty I would think that Fenway would would would you know, would be interested enough to try to do something with. How is it worth one hundred forty when they can't keep a damn sponsor? And it got shut down there their xfinity squad. I don't know. How four has a weird like algorithm when it comes to like valuation? Yeah. Of the whole thing. That's really weird. Yeah. I guess it's it's the fact that the prestige situation of it, the you can't you can't look at the whole list of top teams without going through goddamn slide show is everybody to have a slide show. I don't wanna view the gal flat show view the gallery. I just wanna see the damn numbers, man. Gimme Hendrick motorsports through and twenty five million. Then you got Gibbs racing to twenty. I could see that new. You have Stewart Haas at one seventy five, and then then are CR they're saying one one seventy how the hell's that possible. And then oh because sorry one seventy one sixty five of it is in her junior merchandise. Then pen for for children. Oh, sorry. Sorry. One hundred seventy one hundred sixty five of that is senior merchandise rated senior merchandise, then you got Penske at one hundred forty two and then you have rush Fenway racing. The sixth largest team in the sport at one hundred forty million dollars valuation was we're rows went from three hundred thirteen million a decade ago to how forty million they have four cars back then and the pool xfinity off ice Harz yet. The fog cars at one point that changed change the rules. Oh, man. That's crazy. I mean, we think about that is a terrible investment by the Fenway group. I can't remember when they got him. But still. Oh, lordy. All right. So let's get it from the from the standpoint of the the Cup team then because the idea here there president the Steve Newmark over the heck he is. I didn't really remember that he said that what they're doing. By shutting down the six Finnity team is to be able to focus on the Cup series in like inferior. I think it's a fantastic idea. Because I mean, they're just you know poop in the bed as far as Cup series is concerned. And if that's not making money, they're not making money. And so I think that that idea is very solid. He also said that sponsorship is is everything for the xfinity team. And quote at some point in time was at some point in time. He ho sorry. He hopes that quote in some point in time that we continue to evolve to a model that moves a little bit away from that meeting a little bit away from sponsorship. I'm assuming that he's looking at both the, oh, the idea of TV money and salary caps and ask car may be going to a different sponsorship model. I mean rash racing is saying we need to move away from sponsorships. You know, a team that you have five sponsored cars, isn't that? Like, a huge. I would think that's a huge sign. The NASCAR to say. You know, maybe it's time if they can wrote away from the bottom like this, then what's to keep Hendrick. Or what's to keep Stuart hostile on the road? Or what's keep Joe Gibbs racing? From just saying the same thing sponsorship is too valuable. It's too hard to keep we're going to pack up shop and go home. I think they're doing that with the steer system. Yeah. A lot of see I think I think it's gonna get to the point where the cheer system is. You you buy a car? Your money buys a car for a season. That'd be alright. And that's and that's how teams make money. I think that'd be. They don't have to worry about it. They worry about the car itself. And while LA here's your sponsor now. The thing is is that it's going to require a lot more work from drivers. They get their name out there because you're not gonna have a face of Eminem's..

"Of twenty eight team NASCAR season. Never done baby. Boy, try to get it done. The way to return is over Hillary combs more Clinton Moyer sees the chucker Klag Stewart Haas racing has a record season in the air for the fifth time this year. Kevin Harvick wins the monster. Energy NASCAR Cup Siri. Honestly this year was a year where we thought we were going to be, you know, third line as far as the cars were, you know, from from speed standpoint, just because of you know, the Chevrolets were really really fast at all the tests that they went to preseason and the Toyotas were where they were last year. Obviously, a lot changed over the offseason with the way that the cars were inspected the splitter rule, and you know, so that all that stuff kind of seem to fall into our wheel house, and we were able to you know, to have a lot of speed in the car and our guys had done a good job track. Eric Merola who nearly Daytona five hundred. Hey, leads the way coming down the line and he will win today. Tom today. People standing with another former champion. I was amazing. What Stewart Haas racing did and spend a little time somewhere during the year with Tony Gibson? Tony is the former crew chief for Kurt Busch. And he was crew chief for everybody over there and just be loved and respected by everybody. And I spent some time over at Stewart Haas racing which is not far from MR on here in just over in canal. Plus, and the one thing that that made me understand what was happening is is that when Clinton gets a car and Kevin Harvick gets a car and Kurt Busch at the time got a car and an Eric got a car. They were identical race cars. I think the first thing that Tony Gibson did has got everyone on the same page. And that to me is always the challenge with multi-car team is getting everybody on the same page. And so and it takes a guy like Tony Gibson there to say, no, no now, you're running this frame, and you're in this frame, and you're running this one year run in this one in. Oh, by the way, Harvick won with us. So don't give me the line that that doesn't work. Okay. So. I think it took good performance. But but I think it took a guy like Tony Gibson to say we're doing duplicate cars along the way of the action for us this afternoon. Let's go up to Jeff struggle from Grand Rapids, Michigan. I think when you hand out the report card at the end of the season, you have to I understand it llegado got the championship. But I think when you take a look at a team that excelled you set your goals in the off season in need comeback the following off season in you look to see if you've achieved your goals for Stewart hostile basing. They've achieved every single goal that they had in play except for one. And that was for one of their drivers to be a championship winning driver. They came close with Kevin Harvick. But when you go back and take a look at the season that they had with Harvick with Kurt Busch with Eric L Merola with Clint Boyer all of their drivers one racist all of their drivers advanced into the playoffs all of their drivers made a deep run in the playoffs. They were contenders everywhere they went, and if you recall they may switch from Chevrolet Ford, really not that long ago just two years removed from their relationship with Chevrolet and their new one with Ford. They Stewart Haas racing are the team to beat each and every week. Number eight a busy silly season. For NASCAR teams and driver there always from Barre Vermont. It's Dave moody Kurt Busch going to Chip Ganassi racing. Obviously as big move..

I do not have any. Denny hamlin. News. No, nothing. I don't know what you're talking about. There's something going on there. Isn't there? People hanging around the Facebook and ask are group's reductive. Yeah. Going on there. But we're you know, we just got in the in in the good graces of the eleven team. We're still trying to confirm. It better be really really confirmed before wits. Yeah. It won't be going to this show unless it's super confirm. You can believe me on that. He will be driving for Stewart Haas racing in two thousand eighteen so that's awesome. He of course, won the wroval race in that series this year for Stewart Haas racing and he will be driving the number ninety eight machine. Right. And he's also the guy that won the truck series dirt rates at El Dora this year, which I guess is another good way to get into Tony Stewart's attention. Yeah. I would imagine. "He says, it's quote a complicated situation. But he also said he has multiple options. And he's also got big thing. Big things big things going nineteenth century segment. I mean, the the trinity of nineteen. Yeah. The new driver or the old driver and the driver in limbo, right driver. That's going to be the old driver. Yeah. So I read that I read the whole complicated multiple options thing, I read that as we're all waiting on Kurt Busch. That's how I read that. Yeah. No, I can see that how much is he praying right now. I mean, how much does Daniel Suarez hope that Kurt Busch signs a contract with Guinness racing in the next week or two. Or he hopes that he doesn't sign they get with NC raising. And he does I know. But that's thing. See what I'm thinking is if wherever Kurt Busch Sohn's source goes the other place. So Kirk owes again, ask source goes Stewart Haas. Kurt stays s HR and then source goes to get nasty. Wouldn't you much rather be in a Stewart Haas car right now? But I don't know if they're cheating all the time. It's true. Like, I mean, obviously, you want you want it to be better. But I mean who knows who's to say that they're going to keep running this way with the new Fords to look at it the other way around if you see what Eric Merola has done, then wouldn't you? I mean, we talked about a little bit before. Stewart house will be the only organization that's not necessarily a step down from where he is right now. But you do make you do bring up a really good point Mustang coming next year. And that is a huge huge question. Mark for those guys. And you look at what's happening with the marrow. Yeah. That's not nothing. Nothing. The greatest the the world's kids if you haven't seen it. So okay. So flip a flip background to the original question. Why? Is is the unknown of the Mustang enough to overweigh going to Stewart Haas or is it better to go with the known? Now, we know where the Camaro is chase. Elliott's won a couple of races. Maybe we got this thing sort of that and go into year two of the Camaro. But with a team that's not as good and Guinness. But obviously we've seen collars and can race the damn thing. He can be a contender in it. So now, how does it way out in your mind? And I think I think that the ASI is as good as as most teams out there too. I mean, I can't I'm not going to take anything away from nasty. I mean, they got Cuyler for Christ's sake. There are stuck behind Stewart Haas, but does a year extra development on that car out. You know, balanced that you think so -absolutely thinks think so yeah, I think that you have to do something like that. So you're saying that if those are the options, there's no way he could really truly lose. No. I don't think. So because that's be honest number forty one teams vanity project for gene Haas. It really is. And the number the number one car is is is a carry over from the old days. So I think either either or I mean, it's a win win situation. I mean Guinness. He's definitely all it with all his drivers. Yeah. That's true. So I mean, I don't see I don't see how air or Eric's, whereas at Daniels, whereas can can lose out here. I mean as long as it's not Bica. I think he's. Yeah. I think that I mean, I think that of those two choices you have to want Stewart Haas first. But, but yeah, I agree that that can ask you is not necessarily the consolation prize. I mean, it's not you're right. It's not like being banished to LeVine family racing or anything like that. Right. Exactly. Which though at this point. Oh, that's right. They went with Matt abedin's already didn't they? Yeah. If source doesn't panicking and has to be one of those two it would have to be you hope. Yeah. Yeah. Because otherwise it could be Bica. Hell the hell's wrong with them. If it's not, you know, what's going on. Yeah. Yeah. Seems kind of weird. But that's just me. I think it would be a bit of a travesty if he didn't get one of those two rights..

"On the Cup side race, two of round two of the playoffs for the trucks. It was elimination day, and we've got a lot to discuss on both of those before we had to Kansas speedway this weekend, what he came alongside Joey Meyer and for a while, Joey. It seemed like we had gone back to the future in the nineties, the way the racing style turned out to be at Talladega. It's been a long time since any of us on the roof or in the garage have seen a wood chipping thrashing by one team. So dominant qualifying all four teams in the top four. And then realistically working together and really popping up that bottom line where nobody can do anything with those guys for the entire afternoon. The only enemy that two of the forehead was too much air in the old fuel tank, and that relegated them to a poor finish. But obviously Eric Merola and an Clint Boyer rebel to hold tight in their positions with the dominant dominant performance by Stewart, Australia. If I'm the other team specifically the fourteens I'm almost embarrassed because that was such a thrashing of speed and raw power and maneuverability and workmanship with the teams, they've really just dominated from start to finish at the end. And again, the only thing it took two of the four hours, a lack of fuel. We've seen in the past a Toyota teams, specifically the Gibbs teams try to gang up like that and use it to their advantage, but not as effectively as what we saw yesterday. Yeah. The gives cars in the past with Martin tricks, junior, adding the fifth car. Those guys had worked well together, but they didn't have the raw speed. And that's really what we saw yesterday was the speed that they had on the bottom lane. It didn't matter how much you try to gang up on the middle and high lanes. You simply couldn't get enough speed to overcome their raw speed by themselves. They were able to pull the pack four, five, six tenths quicker than anybody else. Namely the two car got out front. We were running in the nineties in a lab night. You're talking time no time it's at and then the other. Teams wants to Stewart. Haas cars got down. They would pick up five, six tenths of a second. And that's just a dominating performance by those guys. So kudos to them really puts the two car in a bad position, a little Joey. Here's pretty upset because Kevin, I guess I was about to ask you, he run out of gas. He's very sad. I'm sad, Big, Joe little Joe. Very sad. Now, the two cars in a predicament. We have to go to Kansas essentially, excluding any other catastrophic issues. By some other teams, we have to win that race, and that's that's a bad place to be an after a decent season. We've had our team may Joel Gano finished in the top five. So those guys are pretty much moving on, but Ryan Blaney and the twelve car in the two car really, really have to go to Kansas with some high performance. We see we see ourselves air and just we're just trying to. That's our finishing order right there. And the guy that

But I mean at this point as an owner, I have to think my health hasn't been the greatest. I'm older. We won a championship. We the little team that could we did it. Yeah. I mean, we've seen these situations before where, oh, we're going to partner together, but we, you all know everybody knows that one is going to take over the other. It's just a transitional thing. Exactly. Exactly. So you're trucks, junior, and your contract is up, you know, the success you've had with furniture, oh, and you know that next year guaranteed. It's going to be the same setup. Same people. Same shop Barney. This is going to be involved. It's just you've got this Allegiant bringing some money, which should be a good thing. But after that, there's a big question Mark. How is gonna. In the team, are they going to be able to finance it? Are they going to be able to maintain the same level that the other guys do? And then meanwhile, over here on the other side, you've got Stewart Haas racing, which is like, has already become like the third most valuable team in the sport. And Tony Stewart is super rock-steady not going anywhere the cars are on top of their game. Probably the best cars in the business. If that Kurt Busch cars open right now and you're Martin tricks junior with the uncertainty of furniture row beyond next year. Do you go back to the seventy eight that gave you that opportunity and brought you to a championship or do transition and go to the best team in the sport while you have the chance? Because you don't know what's going to happen at the end of two thousand nineteen. Why would you not? I know, right? Why not go to that team? Yeah, as loyal as I would wanna be if I'm Martin Rex junior, I don't. I don't, especially now not knowing what's going to happen in the future with furniture. I think you've gotta take that opportunity if. It's in front of you go ago Stewart Haas and you gotta figure that GM is probably gonna put their own guy pobably just in in there just in Hailey kid has been skyrocketing through the thing and all respect, Spencer, galley or the son of Morio ago. The owner of the team. Justin Haley probably is the best chance to be a building block for that team. So if I'm sure x. signed a one year deal of furniture row finish out there, then. Here's the tough part now, like if is because do you leave him high dry and then just they don't. They put Justin Haley and they're automatically and they fall flat on their face or do you stay another year hope. The forty one ride doesn't get full do year deal with Kurt Busch and then move on from there. I don't know the the play here. It's so tough. You know, if you're all partially depends on what tricks wants to do, like how long wants his career to be because if you thinking long term, like if I want to raise five or six more years easily, he's gotta go with Stewart Haas. He can't take that chance that something good something better than where he is going to be able because there aren't that many cars that are better than what he's driving right now. And so unless he knows that Gibbs car or a Hendrick car or Stewart, Haas car is going to be available in the near future..
