Whats the Best Advice You've Ever Received?

"I wonder what the very best piece of advice you've ever received was. Oh that's so easy. I can't believe very asking me that influence now. I really want to know the best advice i've ever received was approximately one point five years ago when an angel from heaven visited me and said stephen life is short. And if you know what's good for you you will ask angela duckworth to make a podcast with it. Most of the questions. That was not the best piece of advice you've ever received. I think it was an angel from heaven. It might actually just been our executive producer. Okay you will have to tell me the second best piece of advice i ever received then. The advice that comes to mind is something that happened. When i was quite young i was maybe eleven. Twelve years old. I grew up in upstate. New york kind of middle of nowhere and our dad had died when i was about ten and so it was rural but people really did look each other. There came to emerge a pattern. Where men who were not my father would contact my mom and say hey. Would you like me to take little stevie out for an adventure of some kind and it was almost always fishing. That's what people did so there was this one guy. His name was bernie dusk quits. He was the barber in the town and bernie took me out on a boat in this lake. One day we were trying to catch you know the big fish and we were getting nothing. We're getting no bites and this went on for like an hour. To and i was bored but i was also very polite and obedience. I didn't say like this sucks. Onboard just sat there kept fishing then it started to rain. Really hard and bernie does quits drove the boat in towards the shore under some trees to be protected from the rain and all the sudden we started catching all these fish. But they're little fish too little to keep. But i was having a blast. Then the sun comes out and bernie dusk quits pulls up anchor and drives right back out into the middle and even though i was kind of quiet and shy and obedient. I said hey what are we doing. This is the best fishing spa ever and he said these are just little fish. We don't wanna keep catching them. It's not really worth the time. Let's go catch real fish so we went back out. We never caught a real fish. We literally sat there for another two hours. Catching nothing but the lesson. I took away after much. Rumination was that sometimes it is really a good idea to go for the big fish to not be satisfied with the little easy target in front of you. Even if you spend a lot of your time pursuing the big goal and it doesn't work out and that's something that i don't know for some reason that day stuck with me long enough that i was able to process it and as an adult think about that all the time. It's one of the reasons. I really fell in love with economics. One of the central tenets of economics is opportunity. Cost right if you spend all your time catching the little fish. You won't have time or developed the technique or the patients to ever catch the big ones. I think it's the best single piece of advice that's ever been sent my way.

"Animals. I mean my dog has a 401k. Also why do we pace. When we're stressed or anxious like in the bugs bunny cartoons. Somebody's waiting outside the delivery for so andrew came across a paper in the journal. Frontiers in psychology which. I was so charmed by that. You've read as we can talk about it. It's called acquisition of a joystick operated video task by pigs. How could i forget for the listener. I'll just explain. These experiments were carried out at penn state university. There were four pigs. A pair of yorkshire pigs named hamlet an omelette and a pair of panna pinto micro pigs named ebony and ivory. I guess after stevie wonder and paul mccartney or the song of that name or after piano keys and the paper describes what the pigs were and were not able to learn in these experiments manipulating video game joystick with their snouts. And what i really want to know is tell us how it changes your thinking as a psychologist if it all about non human animals their capabilities. The way we should think about them perhaps differently about ourselves differently. Well thank you for broadening. My academic horizons. I would not have read this paper on video games and makes were it not for our friendship so i i will just say that when i read this line i literally laughed out loud after twelve weeks of training. Hamlet and omelette were terminated from the experiment because they had grown too large no fit within the constraints of the test pen. Academic research is tough. You lose fifty percent of your research pool just like that so anyway now down to two test subjects by the way. So one of my intuitions is that one ought not an. I understand that this research is hard. But maybe not generalize to olive pig them based on this very small number of pigs because look at wilbur wright some pig yeah so maybe ebony or ivory were some one of them was much better than the other in the research so there's various across pigs even yes. Jones e. use stevie to talk about how happy you are about this. Well everybody smile. Would you late daniel okay. Let's see the fact that he's not playing as much as hearts. Paul Simon Sells Catalog to Sony Music Publishing

"Simon was selling his song catalog. Yeah, he's joined the ranks of some other music greats. I think you and I talked about Bob Dylan. Not that long ago, but Paul Simon has has done the same. He sold his entire song catalog to Sony Music. And the deal that the terms of that were not disclosed, But you know the same with Bob Dylan when Bob Dylan's sold his. It was estimated to be about three worth about $300 million, so you can kind of guess Paul Simon's probably in that same neighborhood, But Neil Young did this recently. Stevie Nicks has done this, and it's kind of joining these music greats that are selling off their their song catalog. So we'll see what happens there. You know, when Neil Young did it, he was very specific about these cannot be in jingles. Thieves cannot be. He had some rules about what couldn't could not happen to his songs. So we'll see. I think more will emerge about about Paul Simon here. But when you think about, you know the late fifties, when he started with Art Garfunkel, just the body of work since then, that's a lot of music.

One Key To Healthy Oceans? Sharks

"All right. melissa let's get into it. Let's talk about something. People might not think about when they think of sharks and that's the role that they play in the health of the oceans. Yes so let's start with kind of generalized shark Many of them start their life out in a nursery so no secluded kind of area such as say a mangrove and so they use the protection of those routes to learn how to become a shark to be able to hunt while not being hunted by their own species sometimes Once this animal kind of grows up some of them do go to coral reefs and coral reefs need sharks Just a shark being there. Actually kinda changes the dynamics of that coral reef for example in fiji there are some fish that are herbivorous that eat kind of like algae and seaweed that's in the coral reefs. They'll actually avoid areas. That are patrolled by reef sharks so that means that the stevie chanced dot kind of like a refuge in that area because they're not being eaten by any fish there so it allows dynamic to exist. They're actually. I'm not thinking of them like per you're protecting like plant species but just them being there is doing that. Definitely it is. It's it's one of the things of just shark being there. Changes what habitat looks leg because it influences the behavior of the fish that they eat right and and i know that they also kind of feed on the dominant pray in that area in that that can cause changes in those species. Tell me tell me a little bit about that. Quite a lot of people when they think about. What do we need sharks. They think of them keeping the ocean system balanced and they do keep praying numbers balance. So for example. Say you have a big predator fish and you have multiple of them. Because you've taken out the sharks that prey on them that means that that vegetation or any of those herbivorous fish that have been protected or kept in check. Suddenly that whole entire system goes out of wack. Because you've got nothing. Keeping those other predatory fish in line. So they're kind of like right. It's a smorgasbord. You can eat whatever. I walk and really it just leads to a ruined ecosystem so shirks play this role at coral reefs and then they kind of start to migrates her to move. What role do they play wild. They're actually migrating so the really cool thing about sharks is quite a lot of them are migratory so they're not always in one location for their entire lives many of them such as whale sharks take really long migration so they pop in various parts around the world and so it helps kind of transfer nutrients from different parts of the ocean via well poop if you think about it. It kind of makes sense. Because they're poop sort of acts like a fertilizer of sort for any respective habitat and a good example of this. There's actually grey reef sharks that are in the central pacific and they forage offshore of their habitat at night and then they returned to arrest in this atoll during the day and so they're constantly shuffling nutrients from that outer open ocean area into more densely populated coral reef area so researchers actually estimate this day to day offshore water insure water migration actually brings in about ninety five kilograms of nitrogen daily onto a coral reef. Which is usually nutrient limited which means that it keeps this ecosystem. Pretty healthy So yeah. I don't think we're going to be seeing poop. Like shark poop fertilizer anytime soon in our star. It's good

"Frank leboeuf and don hutchison with us. Reflect on chelsea's two nil victory over everton and stevie. I feel drawn to you. As one of thomas calls biggest critics. Surely now you get credit. And i don't understand this biggest critic. I'm just telling you the things that he's doing. Franklin paul was doing as well no to this game against them. There's no question they would a class above today. You know the to move the ball from the back to the medal to the front as fantastic right. Frank lampard teams will do that. The difference between this team and franks team is not given up goals. So now is a different. That's a big difference as a difference. But but the the two as is a frank was the manager of any of the team and the premier league. It wouldn't go side that's came to my argument because this chelsea would've league because they had a great defensive unit and how horrible patch yes denied up. No the going back to what we do. Best and far five scoring goals. The last name premier league games frontline. Bob was in charleston twelve goals. Guess war nine games friendly. The name games. The tickles beating child's guess. What twelve goals. In exactly the same as that is why i'm arguing. For frank lampard rushing tickled to buy goods. I'm just telling the goes against the eleven games. Defeats is the big caveat. Your argument the percent. Yeah tom without. Don't what do you think you agree. We'll stevie saying do not only thing i would say honest is. I was trying to be law towards franklin a good friend of mine and the job that don't watch chelsea and frank author vulnerable resolve torch. I wasn't sure what results that are going to get. They will fifty fifty game. Sometimes the majority of them went with him in someone against him. Breath sites almost took come in an extremely well. No eleven games in nine clean sheets. Dot is impressive. I thought that was that best performance against have that looked shop. Kyw hubbard's look fit a potentially cut out a couple of goals won't choke off for handball. Chalked off that it was an own goal but think this has been a change. I think in the mental illness to chelsea blows frank. Upn a big critic of since he made that big move from germany was this his best game in chelsea shirt today. Yes definitely i mean. It's an encouraging performance. Even if i think he can do much better. Because i him playing for liver kuzin last season i better than even today. So of course. I'm expecting a lot from a talented player and not because of the price that he's been paid he's been transferred you just because of the quality that he showed when he was being in the german league. I'm sure we can do much better. But he's on the way back to his best. And i wish him the best minnow. We don't have many things to say about that. Game jussie deserve to win. I think everton was really poor. Didn't show much during that game. He did what they knew. What to do emits defending well as as tv said and two goals and that's it and they are full five tennessee's bias especially to move to to school another goal but don't forget that we are waiting in the corner four chelsea by game that they had atletico and some of the games liverpool everton and the they won all those games so doing great on nothing much to say is not very entertaining but do the

"Of happy birthday. The only way it should have been sock. It is a blessing to be black in. Know that in the midst of any birthday celebration with other black folks we all gather around a candlelit confection and someone shouts out. That happy birthday must be song. We are seeing the one st wrote. We are clapping. Our hands falling into each other laughing. When someone gets too excited as misses a beat we are poking fun at the one person who started singing the slow droning traditional birthday song the one with no rhythm stevie wrote the song for mark of course but even in the years after nine hundred eighty six when martin's birthday was first celebrated as a national holiday the chorus of sees birthday is the one that still holds on and brings a joyful. Tapestry of noise.

"It is an album wonder trying on every outfit in the new decades closet finding that all of them fit him perfectly. The houses rejected a bill to make the late. Martin luther king. Junior's birthday january fifteenth national holiday. A majority favor that two hundred and fifty two to one hundred and thirty three but that was just short of the two-thirds majority required under the parliamentary procedure which brought the measure to a vote at the end of nineteen seventy nine a bill to recognize. Martin luther king's birthday as a national holiday fell five votes short in the us. House of representatives. There were objections at a holiday. To honor. a private citizen would go against tradition. Since king never held any office then again neither christopher columbus with this failure the king center tear to the public to help get the campaign moving. They turned the corporations actors and of course musicians easy to make this case to wonder who had openly champion civil rights on his records and outside of them for years on the sleeve of the liner notes hotter than july. There is a large portrait of martin. Luther king against the black background above the photo the date of kings birth and the date of his death are printed in white lettering on the opposite side of the sleeve. They're five photos across the top. A photo of a city divided by six lane highway. Both sides of that highway in case in smoke touched by the aftermath of a right across the bottom a photo of white police officers with white helmets and weapons at the ready appearing to advance on black protesters standing nonviolently in defiance in a photo to the left. There's a black boy being pulled by the limbs to police officers on each arm and one on his leg in a photo to the right. A black man is a pool of his own blood outside of a store. Another black man is crouched against the wall looking away in agony in the foreground a police officer in a white helmet stands with a hand on his hip photo in the center is of martin luther king junior leading a march is the type of photo that independent of the other surrounded by often get used the prop up king in the american imagination of someone determined righteous and nonviolent entirely detached from the machinery of american racism and violence that killed him. This photo place directly at the middle of the other four horrific and jarring photos is a reminder that black people there is no other way to frame martin luther king without explicitly placing him in the context of an ongoing fight for liberation. One that he did not see through because his country did not allow him to live long enough to do it. If that weren't enough to argue for a celebration of king to be stamped into the american calendar and consciousness the opposite page underneath the smiling standalone photo of king stevie wonder wrote his own message. It is believed that for a man to lay down his life for the love of others. Is the supreme sacrifice. Jesus christ by his own example showed us that there is no greater love for nearly two thousand years now we have been striving to have the strength to follow that example. Martin luther king was a man who had that strength. He showed us nonviolently a better way of life. Away of mutual respect helping us avoid much bitter confrontation in inevitable bloodshed. We still have a long road to travel until we reached the world. That was his dream. We immunized states must not forget either his supreme sacrifice or that dream i in a growing number of people believe that it is time for our country to adopt legislation. That will make january fifteenth. Martin luther king's birthday a national holiday both in recognition of what he achieved as reminder of the distance which still has to be traveled. Join me in. The observance of january fifteenth nineteen eighty-one as a national holiday.

That fit was coming in the new decade and beyond. He'd already figured out how to master the synthesizer ways his peers hadn't he was playing with tone and voice modulation but he needed to figure out was how to once again translate his ability to making songs that were both challenging to him but accessible to a wider audience and how to collapse the idea of genre and make it 'bout his musical whims the album's eventual title hotter than july would come from its first single master-blaster chairman is one of the great songs of the eighties. So interesting but just off of the happy birthday version alone which stevie wonder wrote in an effort to have martin. Luther king's birthday recognised nationally as a holiday. I think that how. Nineteen eighty stevie wonder and in early nineteen eighty. Stevie wonder was looking for a way to rebound. He was coming off of his journey. Through the secret life of plants. "So help me out with a lot of my life when when when I didn't think that black people or urban people really fuck with skating I was like fuck it. I'm moving to Atlanta Atlanta fossil by people doing anything main you could be the best hopscotch players like I have a a friend of mine. told me that he's like man he's about to move to Atlanta. Just start a car wash. Because they'll just be like a black owned car wash and I know people are going to fuck with me. Oh Man I love Atlanta Atlanta. I Love Los Angeles too. I love my city Philadelphia. We do what I'm saying. But for the most part like like just being just alert over the years just just being just being solid and and being having some integrity. But what I try to to do and what I stand for and just relax S Lamar be relaxed smoking. We watching the Brian Eighty kick some ass and shit like the sixers. I'll be chilling. I'd I try to do everything that I didn't have time to do when I had a career So now just become like just taking Komo news time. I'm not in a rush. It I Russian for nobody are more like just being available in. My kids need me or my job call so I can. That makes them break. Shooting followed extra shit. I used to do and children. The words somebody WHO's accomplished accomplished a lot influence a lot of people. That's how you that's that's what you would want to get to life for exactly. Yeah being able to just relax. I have those kind of conversations people a lot because it feels like successful people are always like on a scale of you know somebody who just made their first hundred thousand dollars in their Steiner China. Feel like you know you might start to get to a point where you feel like I can. I can kick back a little bit and then I met somebody the other honey Gogo quit. I know that might not be enough to really really feel like you could show but I was talking to somebody that day. That probably got ten twenty thirty million dollars in the bank and that's always what they're sort of starting to get to is like realizing Like spending time with my family's important like once they start to get to that position where they feel comfortable. You know yeah balance. I'm not even a thousand percent uncomfortable is just when I told you like earlier in the interview that That point where you wanNA give up you. Oh you got to do a little bit more like those are like milestones in my life. Sometimes 'cause like I'd be wanting to give up but then like if I give up by who the fuck is who am I gonNA give it to and I ain't gonNA give it up so a balanced I try to balance out the important time Explain that to my kids to that. You know you can be involved with me as I'm still trying to work my mom my my thing and you can help me or let me nor Orca help you when you start working but you gotta have a thing you gotta have a thing. And if you don't WanNA think I'll probably be ordering from you at Taco Bell some Shit But for the most part like lead by example is what I like to do and when I do call it quits. It should be like a a relaxed comfortable appreciative situation. where it's like that's where I wanna get to in life so I gotta learn it and that's what I'm that's what I'm practicing? Well said Stevie Williams jumping appreciate the meaning to do this for a while. I was finally got it. Yes yes yes. Yes L. U. Stevie Williams no jabber close by so where I'll take us on Youtube. "Traffic traffic alone. On proper I thought you were saying Skater highlight your skin other not today. No I've been skating though lately coming in here in La back. Yeah Yeah. Yeah so you've been getting in the beginning it in. That's good to hear you any smoking. Shit chilling slogan organ and Skating. Smoking skating chilling. I hate that when people act like. They can't scare or can't like do their chosen activity unless they like clean up their life. You know because some people can't right but I did snoop podcasts. I did see I. I didn't watch I didn't smoke in The new paddock conversation. I'm like damn this Nigga. Snoop smoking you got all these sponsors right. You just gotta I mean be you and Um have a career too so you know you can't do both is where it says. It's a double edged sword so you didn't smoke on Snoop's Shit because you thought you some of your sponsors wouldn't be happy about it. Yeah really that's too bad because I feel like smoking with snoop at this point I'm Outta smoked with enough famous people that it wouldn't seem like that big a deal but like I feel like a lot of people talk about that like that's the ultimate dream come true for sure man to corporate my focus that don't smoke betting we don't share the same dreams voting. That's crazy that should trickled over to skateboard so much. Feel like a lot of skaters feel like on a pressure. Yeah because today we are athletes and we represent you know health and shit like like that but The lifestyle come with skating is something that you know is is. Should they come skating on the east coast in particular. I felt like drinking and Smokin is just like inseparable from the facts and in California. The weed is you know. Cannabis's is legal. Oh Yeah it's the dispensary on every fucking corner. Yeah like you know. The hardest thing is is trying to get the kids not to get influenced by the cannabis in. That's kind of like what is really a bulk of skateboarding is like a A kid is like demographic right. So you know you don't want to influence like twelve thirteen. Fourteen fifteen sixteen year old kids to like get in a cannabis which I understand so you just gotta be like mindfully a career like whatever do you WanNa do however you WanNa do it. It's interesting though because I feel like you come out early in your career. That was a big party or a lawyer was like look this. Do who really really represents it's like the heart of raw as being in the street skating which I do and then in the beyond switches when I started the really like stay away from being authentic is when she got a little weird you know so you know I? I don't say do what's expected that people expect me to do. But I'm more like you know. I know my role my lane and what I need to do. So you know cannabis has been part of my whole shit In it is what it is. I should legal so yeah. Is there on the West Coast. Would this is crazy because you know how it is in skating. Or whatever where it's it's like on one hand like People WanNa see you doing good but at the same time like you put the energy drink hat on every day for the next couple of years and motherfuckers are just GonNa look at you. Different it's just a little bit different vibe wise and is is when you go to commercial. You can't come back. And the skaters are more perceptive of that the any immediately you know immediately I mean just like the BMX czar to when when when we have our niche culture and we hold it so tight like you know it's our child child or whatever it get a little different when when things get too commercialized. Yeah you know what I mean. And before I went to commercial I just started trailing back in just really getting some more cultural things rest of being commercial. So you know cannabis been a part of my coaching for she since I can remember and that's what I fuck with that skateboarding to stay healthy thing. You know what I mean. 'cause you were one of the main dude that like when I was young because more I was kind of looking at the time of which all this shit was happening like in. BMX videos there was like no rat no cool urban BMX riders until about two thousand one. Two thousand two and for us. We're always looking at skateboarding. As SORTA like laying the groundwork for what was going on in the world the culture or or whatever so we were looking at you like just as Holy Shit. This dude is like the most authentic east coast. I because we knew people like you who are just like you know grimy meazza kids but who didn't who weren't spas but you made it before mother focused I really make an MBA and then you had all these dudes from New York and stuff who started popping up but but you sorta like were laying that that blueprint early on which to us. We were observing and just being like holy fuck like this. Is You know well. I was only really doing what I was shown right. It wasn't just me. You know what I mean I looked up to Giovanni Turner Kareem Campbell You know John Reeves just Ron Chapman I mean the list goes on like of other skaters especially black. That came before me. You know what I'm saying is just that when I got put on I was just still so of a hood nigger like I was homeless Romania right and I got I got put on and you know it was just. I was just doing me. All his money was coming at me. I was learning so much shit shit like I just was just being me and being me appeal to like so many kids that that that inspired them to be down right right. I mean whether it was on a skateboard. Be a Maxon. Even rollerblading need I mean like just different first and foremost just having Augusta it'd be different And then also staying authentic too so you know. I wasn't told the like really calmed down until so I started making commercials you do. But I'm saying definitely is like that was like the whole switch. It was like are. You can't keep acting like that right if you wanted to. If you WANNA make they get to this level and and I'm like damn you know what's crazy about that that I was actually thinking about getting ready for this interview is how there's so much shit that ten plus years ago. Oh Shit. There was huge in the culture that when I look back on it now I look in a completely different light like the fact that there was this crazy fetishes -ation all these young kids at Antoine. When he was really going through shit and that didn't it didn't stand out to me? I was problematic. Like it does now same thing with like a lot of the shows like we thought that. Tk thrown his set and shit like that and videos was so heart. But when I thought that was hard but when we look back on it now I'm Kinda like damn there's like a lot out of like young kids who really were looking for the worst epitomize ation of certain things because that appeal to them because they never had to deal with that shit. Yeah Yeah you're absolutely right front but I'm GonNa tell you this business Right and edu the talent or you're the owner and in some cases when we're not smart enough or we're not leveled enough to make certain decisions sessions by maybe our opinions get you know noticed on You really there to be exploited. You know what I'm saying you did you realize that as a young person that like yeah big companies really WanNa take the shit that is kind of symptomatic of Shit. That's bad in my neighborhood. Or should they on dealing with and they're kinda taken that and using that to promote their shit non not not the sponsors that I came under right because because because people don't realize is that even though you may see a pro skater. Like don't mean that we skate for the same company right. You know what I'm saying just being Mexican but the the regular world they may look like he appro he. Appro may not know the difference while he approach Digi K.. And he's a pro for X. Y. Z.. Right but it all it all it all really depends on what brand you come under And influence comes on comes with that brand. 'cause you see. My Euro is pretty concerned with having share represented. The right way will year another even from early on I had to. It was never goofy. Not because I'm telling you straight from homeless that nobody fucking with me right to the best of the best fucking with me and it was only because of my talent and we had nothing to do with my reputation. Reputation was shot right but it took great people like Josh Kayla's Kareem Campbell. Arrived there a Tony Hawk to actually give me like one on one conversations column Allan McKay Danny Way can block. I mean Rick Howard like traveling the world and just having opportunity to to to be with these guys that I looked at in a magazine as one day I was like damn never going to be like these dudes right and then like a year or two later. Like I'm on tour with these dudes you filming appreciation gratification. That comes with me being like you know appreciative. Binding on front. I told them. Look look. I'M NOT GONNA act like this wild Nigga me how I used to be. I'm more really like take dishes serious giving you that bad image was just ideally really. Stealing bikes are just being ramage's Ramage's yeah. I mean just being a kid. You just getting indicate when you're young you don't realise of this shit's going to cut it up reputation while yeah yeah. Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah I mean some kids may not know okay. Well this is cool for the moment and then get popularity off of it but it's a short this. This is short run. You know what I'm saying. Definitely so you could build your whole reputation up. And then they take one stupid move mess it all right for me like I had about five six seven different moods that was just a new career was over right but my talent actually proven mirow own self wrong so I promise you know people in the industry. The street gave me the shot that I would you know. Do the right thing and they gave me the right information. I did things as they told me. And whoever comes under mob brand as far as D G K or whatever companies that I'm a part of they actually get like good information as well because that's my job Keenan mill in Like a lot of people have been on the road as a young kid is really gave me the right right information and I took it like are and I'm not going to beat as wild as like hooding. I'm actually be smart and see off. Artists can take my mom out the hood right and this shit work. Algae visit Cleveland one of these YouTube profile pieces that it's Kinda older those washing about you where you're talking about how you felt your career was just fucked and then you just like we're add this manual pad and you just willing this is it. This is how element fucking save my career right now and it was just actual grind like really just working your ass off that to me is like super motivational. Because anytime I ever you know feel like shit isn't necessarily on the right way business wise or whatever. It's always such a good feeling to be able to just really like physically just grind your ass off to the absolute brink rank of your abilities and to know that. That was the thing that actually allowed you to prosper because people saw how much work you're putting in. I mean man into my life I didn't even GonNa Front. You're like I was just telling my mom this stuff a day light. Is those points right there in life where you like.

"With her environment astray like astrology cool and interesting like that's not a bad trait it's like saying my ex had this thing she liked to talk about the made her feel good but honestly the only thing that matters to me is my relationships like truly yeah and I used to be I used to be that too and I've flipped in the opposite direction slightly now where I do I do prioritize it and I feel like it's something that guides me but especially the last six months I've been just very career focused and I've been very into developing my own ideas and working on projects and trying to get that kind of stuff a little bit more squared away because I don't feel that much whole like I'm in danger of losing my relationship move Mojo or or or future our hope but ah work stuff is very top of my these days I love that it's so interesting to me that that has become that has become I driving force for you and it's interesting that we both kind of flipped it's so this I don't know I don't know how the zap knows everything but it knows literally everything oh it's just hope there's an element of your friendship with Stevie designed to take you deeper and push your boundaries there's the richest your friendship it's not superficial it certainly is not superficial now it's the opposite it's the opposite I feel like we immediately we immediately skipped all that stuff Oh you met me when I was in a really really weird time in my life I was just good timing look at us you endeavour both capable and ambitious you tend not to waste time on anything that doesn't serve a larger goal ninety more nope that's so cool we can keep like oh you can keep up Looking okay you have a pattern of feeling antiquated being harder you both might feel like you're not enough man that feels true I I feel like I'm not enough a lot ocean me through that's what I'm working against it's one of my it's one of the mantras I work with a lot which is just like I am a non yeah I I know it's a very common one but it feels there's a lot of super visual systems in place designed to make us feel like we're not enough yeah one of them is social media Yep one of them is physical media like driving around looking at billboards much seeing advertising so much stimulus and there's some stimulus and it's all saying it's all saying things like this is a standard of beauty this is a standard of wealth this is a standard this is the standard and it's gosh so I was looking at a at a website with some clothes because I was like oh I'm I've destroyed this shortly button-down shirt I want to get another one and then I heard like store was going out of business and I went in to see if if they had anything on clearance I even this was an hour before I came here I was noticing every single model male female every single person is just so cut up shredded and of course this shirtless got onto this person there's zero percents stop working out back I can't stop working out is there anyone that looks a little bit more like me it's just a little maybe not hitting it so hard at the gym I just feel like it's so interesting because it's like I don't know there's something interesting about social media in that way 'cause social media it's like you can use it for good you can use it for bad but honestly use it at all mindlessly it for me it ends up being bad I compare myself I compare myself to the success of others I'm like how do these people have these suspensive hobbies like I'm just like oh my gosh people who are always on vacation everyone's on vacation always I don't understand and I want to go on vacation permanently I yeah when I was working super fulltime and had a office job with flexible hours the benefits and a decent salary I barely traveled I wish I had because now that I have free time and savings I want to worked towards my next big thing and I don't want to dip into my savings and take a huge chunk of it and go I'm going to another country I I wish I I wish I had that instinct that a few times in the last few years I have a bunch of friends that are about to go to Edinburgh and I'm like Oh that'd be nice I haven't been there in a couple of years but it's not the time it's not the time it's not the right now it's time it's just time to podcast you know it's time to sit down and buckle up and podcasts you you have changed it's time to on buckle up and podcast I'm GonNa make you a t shirt that says oh my God what exactly what is it going to say it's going to say it's time to sit down own buckle up and podcast will wear baby exclamation I will wear it okay I'll wear it tucked into like some really cool high wasted jeans oh my goodness immediately teleported to a former yeah aware that with my dodger hat and call it a day did you just be swarmed by Brown haired boyfriends Yeah Brown hair curly boyfriends what's what's happening for the rest of the week with you what's going on Dave nothing I just I'm over being sick I'm you know when you're getting over being sick and you're like just grateful to feel like a bit normal and you're kind of like not hundred percent present like twenty five percent haze over you I'm just trying to get that hazy go away not really like working out or anything I'm just taking easy I am seeing a bunch of friends for the rest of the week I do have a lot of friend dates lined up which is nice but that's it and really not much going not much plan work in this weekend Dave I don't have a lot to report back when you get sick yeah let's ruin your week you do well your body ruins you which in turn ruins and it's great because you'd take time like to catch up on things and I have done that I got sick about a month ago I was so impatient it was sort of in the middle of this short term I guess released ensure Iran and I didn't WanNa be sick she didn't want me to be sick I'm actually having decent track record of seeing people who have the I never get sick attitude and they don't mind being around me when I'm saying you're so lucky no one does that for me I I understand every time I'm like man I have such bad allergies and I'm like oh my throat hurts I'm sick but then then a couple months ago my eyes watered for four days straight author I never got any other symptoms Lachey Dave I actually dated a guy not that long ago where I couldn't stop getting sick when I was dating him no joke busy so I know my mom told me I was allergic to him like you're alert him I I was like incredibly allergic to him my mom was like you have to stop dating him you cannot stop getting you I like I'm sensitive like I definitely I'm definitely lucky to be alive with my immune system the way it is but I mean I was sick like every three weeks and then you broke up and how how soon after was it until you got sick again I didn't get sick for five months after I I'm no joke was sick nonstop like it's a sign your body's like hey no no no no no Salihi and it was cool because I met some New People recently just friends I think but I kind of spent the weekend hanging out with a whole new group of people I don't think it's going to be my life like my new thing but I felt really comfortable instantly that's nice and mentally yeah and just sitting in a booth at a restaurant with four other people and there isn't that initial discomfort it's just immediately I think good feeling yeah I mean you know when someone feels right they feel like home didn't totally feel like that but it felt like oh I'm older and I have all lake we had fun and laughed and stuff that's I know that like that's what friends are supposed to be like but that's not always what friendships have felt like to me you know sometimes they're more going more awkward and heavier or something yeah it's like and sometimes you're like I don't know why this isn't working I don't know this feels like hard this feels weird I've had things similar with the only person that's an you've connected with you like our friends with a bunch of people on it have a few friends on it you know I feel like I've got to call an audible here Stevie were reporting at Your House we've had a couple of really good we've had a really good conversation longhaired dachshund equivalent of biting me she separated I don't know what's going on we should I should try to see if she's on the pattern I know exactly when she was born and "Intended to hold things together for others she's the one she is she's the one people can trust and rely upon she's kind insensitive to their needs her work environment should feel like an extension of her family to be nurturing and compassionate art she's capable of giving with little thought for herself but may not know when to stop that's true she should make sure she genuinely here is about the project or purpose she's chosen and takes time for her own needs wow that's super super true you take time for your own needs for sure I do Oh for a long time I was just most of my friends therapist like I was an unpaid therapists and for a long time until I like honestly even the past like six months set boundaries where I I take care of myself and I still show up for my friends just in a very different hey if my buckets not full I can't yeah I can't and those friends should know that you'll be back yeah and also we should all be taking care of ourselves so our friends don't desert therapists like I don't think that's a fair I think you can confide in friends but I don't think it's fair if you need your friends will be your therapist you should probably get a the real they're not your friend who's actually qualified because I'm unqualified yeah I would like my therapist it'd be my friend but you know she hasn't seemed to express much of interest older got kids she's married my therapist so wonderful I would definitely be friends with our she is so great but we can't be friends because she knows too much knows a lot yeah we're we're like five years deep she knows too much to in with mine and she yeah she knows secrets you WanNa hear about your work in public life please it's very different than mine it's interesting my whole life is kind of Surat like what that this APP says about me is like my whole life is kinda surrounded by relationships and the importance of relationship was and yours is a bit different in that way you're at work out in the world Dave's intended to move with confidence his natural radiance and charisma inspired people others may be astonished by his ability to problem solve on the fly he's creative and draws upon many talents that's true when he can be a star player and a visionary network he'll thrive he's driven to be in charge and could have a hard time taking orders he needs a tawny he's meant to accomplish something significant in the world the law it's it's it's funny because I'm a- I am a writer director and much much lesser extent and actor enter podcast her although limited paid for that a little bit but I there are times when I am really in charge of what I'm doing and I think this is I I was literally just talking about this well here's the thing is I I directs live theater and comedy and I give notes on people's scripts in there but TV pilots and their their screenplays and and I used to do this thing this is I was yesterday I was talking with this this thing constantly every time I was giving notes in front of a big group every time I was acting a scene was emailing notes I always just I I don't know why but I would preface it by saying hey just so you know take this with the greatest take these notes as they are like they're just they're just thoughts I don't know any more than you do and you know I know you're paying me but just know that these are my opinions and if you don't agree with me on some of it you obviously don't have to implement all of it I've stopped doing that good because if they're paying me if they come to me for help I really want and your instincts are usually spot on I've seen a lot of stuff you've directed and they're spot on thank you also says that by the way it gave me an option to go deeper about this so I went deeper he's independent follows his own instincts it's important he take action to achieve his career goals sit back and wait for permission that's been that's been hard because the writer and actor life is a freelance life so you are looking to other people too approve you to do work and to be hired things and sometimes you have to take work that's not your dream and sometimes you have to really go after stuff not your ideal because got to pay the bills yes and right now yeah this happens crazy right now I m right now I'm doing okay yeah I was working super fulltime time for the whole time we were doing our show and then we stopped doing your show it's been like three and a half more than three and a half years and I'm without a fulltime job for the first time and I'm piecing stuff together with directing and freelance writing and putting pitches together and submitting for things and it's all worked out so far knock on wood sure that you have a ton of money and that you go after things you want and the yes take a power position is so hard in your time the creative life. Yes and I'm learning that now because I spent the first half of my the first part of my writing Curtis Oh this kind of took off okay I'll follow this oh the people who saw that one and meet with me on this okay I'll go over here all right and I've just been realizing that this year I'm not some little kid that someone said kinda right let's have him in this in this room now it's like Oh you're an adult who knows how to write good everybody that's a that's a writer show us what you have and it's been a process this whole year of taking action you taking action and thinking Oh wow show what you got what do I got and now that now I've been coming to terms with that you're working public life yet but also this also just says what you were talking about earlier dave may find he prefers to be a free agent I'm an entrepreneur or working for himself and I do feel like you thrive like when you're working on projects that year writing that you love that you're like I love that yeah Wow okay if I go deeper on you and working public life I see out in the World Stevie is intended to come across as nurturing and kind someone who trusted and relied upon correct thank you might repeat some of the same stuff when you go deeper repeat some of it and some of it's different which is interesting she's learning driven Karen hold things together for loved ones like job you just literally said You your friends Oh my gosh this particular this one the work in life and the relationships one was so accurate for me that it likes it kind of spooked me like I was like oh no this app knows me okay we we do have some other stuff income well we have one not in common the blocks to potential which is interesting that I don't have that we blocks the potential you how I would love to hear this yeah you have that I don't have that I can go go deep ready all right go and deepen blocks to potential Dave's destinies develop a strong sense of self and own his full power and will but he may feel blocked from doing what he wants and following his desires you were saying that although this is his path the road getting there as often humbling because his growth happens through encountering blocks and boundaries ooh I have been I have I couldn't even tell you the amount spent on my therapist to for us to tried to work together to set boundaries for Myself Wow word is right there folks so insane eventually this process will help them grow into his authority but he may feel like this something missing from his life that he or he's confronting continuous resistance whenever he tries to do whatever he wants he's Oh my gosh he likely has a mix of strong feelings there's a sense of inner strength and confidence he knows he can make anything happen but at the same time feels crippled by self doubt or unable to follow his both my gosh the sentence cripple myself down to go under the table right now oh my gosh Dave's aware he has willpower that others don't the capacity to feel things deeply he can be a powerful source force I'm sorry he can be a powerful force but he may often feel restricted and repressed. might worry that his strengths will meet opposition or he'll perceive as too intense or out of control while it's often hard for them to see there's an advantage to this Amac it gives him Dr Discipline and the capacity to manifest results without his influence it would be difficult to contain his intensity and to focus it toward achieving his goals this is some messed up voodoo witchcraft it's so accurate on my gosh the lingering sense of being less than others dominate days life make him feel anxious and depressed and shut down his impulse to express his power and strength or he may reacted energy by constantly fighting against the boundaries he feels to prove that nothing can hold him down he acts out he's angry and rebellious effort to rid himself of heaviness and limitations that he els okay let's just say that some of that some of that's pretty dead on let's see I don't have a shared pattern with you have sensitive and adaptable K. 's TV's environment growing up has deeply effected her and I grew up in alcoholism at heart she's extremely sensitive and adaptable without realizing it she may have absorbed the beliefs of her culture and family these influences may have caused her to accept certain values without question also trying to please loved ones Dave did we not just talk this APP is serious scary we not just talk about how I was suspicious of ice cream in my entire life growing up just because your dad was paranoid as compared to other she may need extra time to really know her inner self and understand what she wants I do Stephen Bub-bubba at heart she's that realizing it she we have without realizing it she may have merged adopting many of its believe and absorbing the thoughts of the Culture in Authority figures in Your Life Dad was paranoid about okay these influences may have confused okay was just repeating themselves oh we got some more stuff for environment was materialistic she might have overvalued status and money if it was stressful she'd been anxious or she may still be reacting to a strict and in home life and feel controlled or rebellious of the boundary she felt that perhaps TV saw things through the perspective of the parents or make decisions based on what others in her family wanted because ever since the tiffany she may have tried to please parent or guardian she became what they projected onto her thinking it would help her heal them and God epoch-making stop she was just trying to make things better but instead might have learned to be codependent and lost herself along the way I burn everything bang hurting my feelings I know it's hard honestly there's nothing that's upset about me that doesn't feel right okay can we just we'll just pause ask for one honestly I think we've read everything we need to read about so what is what is it is it is it birth charts what is what is so it's cooling well apparently it's based on decades of research so it gives us like an in-depth comprehensive comprehensive information about you and relationships they're not making predictions or judgments but they're just providing US tools that highlight events guess so but I honestly it doesn't even say like it doesn't even say that this is an astrology APP or anything it just says I think it's I think it is possibly because it asks you what time your birthday party type thing birth chart thing and I think that honestly I think they are very smart to keep that language out of the literature and out of each different section you can scroll through because people to be extremely weary of this stuff and it's kind of a trope there's a lot of dude jokes about Stroje you know I've had like boyfriends like make fun of or like guys I was dating be like F my last girlfriend was in astrology and I'm like grow up you stupid shit this thing I mean I guess basing basing decisions off of like maybe what a psychic says or basing it off of your strategies probably not is but I I look at it as a hobby and it's fun to see I like reading about this stuff it's really fun it's probably get freaked out and be like Oh my God it's fun to see that you're compatible with someone in an APP says you will be it's fun to be really compatible with someone that the stars say you wouldn't be competitive against all odds came together it's just a fun way to think that makes this terrible world we live in slightly more interesting or enjoyable agree but don't you think it's really strange it is really oddly I think the weird thing about this APP in particular is really oddly accurate like like if it had said the things Abou you about me it wouldn't be right like that's the weird thing is like mine so spot on that it's like it's a little bizarre yeah and you know what if I if I had been you know early twenties looking at this we like none of this is true but I've been sitting own self and working on myself and even the stuff that feels harsh I would say oh I've been working to overcome that for three years so that's getting better but you know at times I definitely I definitely feel it yeah years ago I years ago before therapy before I probably wouldn't have copped to any of this sure I would be like relationships aren't that important to me I care more about my career like I would definitely.

"Being I'm Stevie Nelson and I'm Dave Horwitz and that's it today so let's hope there's something else going on yeah I was like there's something up there something so smack my neighborhood those bomb my dad was creeping day Asong your creepy you kids are so sophisticated these days they don't even know what pop goes the weasel is uh-huh at seven fifty three am and we're talking Kaiser a home birth bill photo of her KIO stadium for some flowers you wearing a wedding dress shirt looks like it doesn't it what are we looking at it's just video where we each had two lines each we ended up improvising for four hours ago extra long and we were immediate friends in the short is is the accurate we're made of the same stuff I would I would agree not the most similar people but we're similar in enough specific ways I we're similar I think we're similar in ways that matter like do you know what I mean I think we're like outwardly were different like we have different passions we like different things we operate a little differently but I would say that like I think we're both like good natured we care about people we care about our family similar things in that I think we're I think we're similar in like we share that pattern and but you have one that I don't have which is self assured or fearful Sir Ego and surrender his needs to feel special he can succeed with or without attention or admiration own no that's yeah I can I can survive without admiration and attention and I don't know how I'm like a camel I started up from before when I get at a previous time I guess yeah yeah I Wow well that feels okay is that is that in the Nada shared it's not so I don't have that pattern I don't share that with you you're assured Nada share powder see for with you is ideal relationship and CV's long-term relationships what works best for her is being with a partner who will claim her they should be upfront made their intentions clear and be unafraid commitment there should be no ambivalence they clearly want her and are willing to devote themselves to her and the relationship these partners are monogamous loyal and protective and she can lean on them in times of day it could not be more accurate that is like we don't share it became fully been dated someone who wasn't monogamous that it to me I need that one is so crazy accurate and like it's it's different things about different people like I've read things about my other girlfriends and this one in particular like the thing that it said like I want clarity and I was like could that be more accurate I always talk about like make your intentions clear not clear I'm not doing it you WanNa take out tell me say let's go on a date okay let's hang out you know like I'm so aggressively clear about that and your ideal relationships different than mine. It is Dave's long-term relation ships what works best for him is being with a partner who's able to accept his intensity you don't fill out an intense me you've never dated ideally they view his energy passionate something positive they should be receptive to his force and magnetism it's reassuring to know that his partner can be can let him be in charge and won't try to dominate or taste I'm him there must be a strong sexual connection his partner should want to be physically close and intimate with him Dave's either turned on or he isn't this is so weird if he if he doesn't feel that vitality and intensity with someone it's a sign for him to move on Kenny you please speak to this to throw my phone in a river does that feel accurate a little bit I think it's weird the paragraph itself if this is what it's about relationships like yeah I wouldn't I don't know if sex is as big a part of my relationships yes this as my phone seems to want to mention sex literally talk about courtship yeah to me I talked about this show yeah but yeah I think I think I'm intense but no I definitely I mean I've been with people who have taken a bit of an upper Ah upper-hand her dominant role at times in the relationship this one rings a little bit less true for me I will that's okay it is an APP it is APP after all and I think there are going to be things that don't true but you WanNa know something that we do share on here which is so funny unpredictable relationships Oh let's look at that okay unconventional there's something unconventional about stevie dating experiences maybe she's had a series of short lived connections relationships are different in some way or take sudden turn shot or possibly partners are unusual edgy unpredictable exciting comedian actresses there's a part of her that may find it hard to commit to a conventional relationship it's important for Stevie to embrace the eccentric side of her that variety enchaine as the exact same thing that you buy okay and my relationship take an abrupt change for sure and a lot of short-lived things for me where I'm I do things for like two months and I'm like man not for me not for me so yeah that feels that feels accurate we don't share that gosh wait your destiny we don't share your our destiny Oh okay let's talk about it i WanNa talk about your destiny well Dave's destiny is develop his sense of strength and power no one should tell them what to do stand in his way or control the terms of his life it's important for him to create his own rules even if he doesn't relate his intensity weird how I said I don't view you as intense and then he's meant to prioritize his own experience and be driven by his passions if something doesn't excite Dave then it's not for him I felt true it yeah I mean you know the trail I I pay a very wonderful therapist to help me be more self assured and standing in my power it sounds like we're talking boundaries here which is big yeah and I liked that it says if something doesn't excite you then it's not for him like I like that it's like it does feel like you don't I've never known you to pursue things that you're like me the ochre about that's true you know your your destiny yes stevie destiny is to find meaning in her relationships it's important for her to feel understood and loved for she genuinely is especially by partner relationships are her path to development knowledge and awakening she should own desire for a long term relationship also learn to become her own best partner not feel so true it's painful to re bad yes I mean if the past forty fifty however many episodes are an indication yet if if doing a podcast specifically about relationships is any indication one hundred percent yes okay what's another shared pattern for us.

"Hey guys this is I burn every that you're not sick of our voices because you're going to get a lot of it today yeah today it's just us every once in a while we like to get intimate with you guys we just excuse me a little peek inside what's going on with your favorite hosts wow I can't even say it's not my favorite hosts I'm at least favourite house but now you know favorite hosts Gosh you know I have a pretty deep deep obsession with Guy Roz Guy Wrong Guy Ross does it for me his voice is so perfect he's a great host he asked such great questions I would love I would love to meet Iras someday this is not you know I like knowing who's Garros Okay so guy rise is a host of a ton of podcasts another time but he does the I think he does the Ted Talks podcast and hold on let me look it up he does bunch of podcast I don't want to get this wrong I listened to him almost every day so I should probably have known this also he's works for NPR Uku he's been described as New York Times as one of the most popular podcasters in history. Okay that's huge along with me I gotta I gotTa Get up on this Guy Okay I it's Ted Radio Hour I was like why do I hear I was like why do I hear him every day how can that be possible Ted Radio hour okay I love and his voice I follow him on twitter I'm like I'm just so into I'm so into him also I liked the name Guy God roses at wonderful the our correspondents have the best names my Gosh Cherry Glazer Sherry Glaser guy breath not what is his name Tafea pro-death Iraq ner yeah and her husband how's that real oh wow I can't remember her name but just amazing names my favorite Australia Alex Goldman in PJ vote who hosts reply all podcast yeah one of maybe the best podcasts in the world what makes it so good oh thirty forty minute episodes easy digestible it's all about the Internet but really diving deeper than you'd ever expect for example if you ever get any of those weird spammers phone calls where people are saying there's malware and your future we have to like we have to mirror your laptop you have to give it the log in so we can move it around and see what's going on in there and do that we don't want to do that but they th they wanted to figure out why that was happening where it came from and it led them on a two part journey into the heart of India that is so cool it's a very spooky like guy meets with the front door does you shouldn't be here oh my gosh more suspenseful than you'd ever think a weird tech support thing would ever be I feel like I love that I can't wait to listen to it I feel like ninety the Senate text messages with my best friends are just texting back and forth episodes of podcasts. We like it's such a different time I feel like it used to be like I don't know like in remember when it used to be like song lyrics like during my space era I'm old enough that my I would curate song V my instant messenger away mess oh my gosh me too yeah and that that really because I think you can really tell what kind of person someone was depending on the tone of the earlier they would post nine were like terribly sad like what like Mariah Carey Song Sad Mariah Carey's like I'm or like boys to men Oh my goodness off yeah like I was doing some email I was doing some grows some deaf tone missile I had long distance girlfriend in college for about a year and so there would be some Incubus wish you were here there was a girl down the hall from me very flirty Vibe for a freshman in college her away message frequently was now it's shower time for this dirty girl oh my gosh love I know Lisa where are you girl needs that come back to us very curly hair oh my gosh just the earliest I feel about Carl's right no I'm passionate about curls I love cross I most of the men I've dated have girls interesting because like because when we met I think I had just for the last time cut that long hair off you have Carl's under this under this yeah yeah but it's I keep it short now how was your weekend Dave I got sick I got a cold yeah so I spent the weekend hunker down actually you know in some ways really nice my mom I went home and my mom took care of me for a little bit that's Nice full day it was so nice and so I got taken care of I went swimming in their pool really can't complain besides the fact that I could complain about having a cold in the heat you seem like you've bounced back though which is good I yeah I feel fine now just sound a little you know nasal e MHM but not too much I was also so basically what I'm saying is I haven't gone any dates you haven't got any day I mean I also haven't gotten any dates I'm off the APPS I uh very recently ended something with someone and honestly I a little a little callous to say this but I feel like maybe I should have stayed in it for a while for the sake of the pod because the pods back and how often have I been in a relationship during the pod maybe actually wants line we had we had over to the time as a guest do you hear the ice cream in I do hear the ice cream man let me tell you we don't live too far from each other but there's maybe it's the same one for the last couple of weeks the ice cream truck has come to my block and stayed there for twenty five minutes at a time there are no real children on my street I don't think there might be one or two families with small kids like a couple has a two year old what's going on I don't know from the time I was a kid I never really thought ice cream trucks sold ice cream I was like this is a this you were some streetwise cynical Brooklyn style cade goes yeah really paranoid so like I I like kind of as a kid adapted some of those like suspicious thought so I really always thought they were suspicious Aksai like never trusted them they look a little bit suspicious just by virtue of I don't know there's some nicer ice cream trucks but the the kind of the kind of ones you see la they haven't changed their pictures ever there faded from the Sun Vani area it's they even though they're marked they look unmarked always you know what I mean like they parade is unmarked cars in my brain yeah it's a little it's a little suspect maybe just in time of amazing village gourmet delicacy ice cream stores in Los Angeles when one is tooting around your neighborhood playing on that's not a song we I I wanted to ask you something okay did you see the channing tatum's Instagram's raise recently I saw that was his stories but his story somebody collected these videos stories so I saw it on twitter okay it's a minute and a half or two minute video of him absolutely going off about the pattern yeah so so which isn't a strike algae up it's like an astrology APP that kind of talks to you about like year patterns your relationship patterns like tells you a little bit about you you enter your name where you were born and the time you were born if you can remember an and it gives you information about you so or this episode David and I are going to analyze our pattern apps right now yeah I downloaded it I didn't know what it was I haven't looked at ended it all my profile pictures just the default which is a landscape photo but I have my birth certificate deepen my email and I looked at yeah I was wondering eleven forty two am wow we were both born in the morning I was born at seven fifty three Am Boston Massachusetts Brigham and women's Hospital. yeah love and forty to date what day August nineteenth August nineteenth I'm September twenty first in Hollywood California the hospital name was like no Kitty Blah is because I'm in La Snob I was born at Cedars sure so my no was like us not Kaiser Cedars Cedars Cedars is the one you think of yes eaters is the one that you go where CEDARS BABIES Yeah before I moved to Los Angeles I recognized cedars was a was a place that people knew about yeah it's definitely place okay so all right so David I downloaded the pattern APP and this is this is a really fun APP I suggest you guys download it so he can look at your own patterns but we're going to are you about our so far our relationship almost confronted him sorry I never will stevie page has a just a beautiful it's just a bunch of tool it actually wasn't address I I don't know what I was wearing underneath it but it was a bunch of tool around me in tool is what veils are made of tool that word I know okay so the first thing this thing's says about me and Dave which is so crazy is you and dave are very similar people with similar similar temperaments you have a lot in common and tend to have corresponding outlooks approaches perspective on on life right away you probably got each other and felt at ease which is true when we met unsettled a seven minutes because of it you're comfortable together because you feel understood the flip side with patterns like yours is that if you're too late you could but heads in either case you two are made up of the same crazy you know what's crazy is like I've connected with other friends on here and and and we haven't had much in common like this is the first time I've ever connected with someone where where it says we have anything in common does that core values is what I would say without reading this okay so then it then it goes into Tau us about each other basically so it's telling me about dave oh interesting and we we have some of the same patterns we do yeah hard worker and dependable we both we both share that sensitive and adaptable yeah I heard worker or unrecognized oh my gosh I both of us Click on it is as at his best Dave can be truly inspiring and radiant force he has talents and skills that few possess he has the potential to achieve great success in admiration in the world Dave has the courage to take difficult challenges in life and embrace chaos he's willing to let go of status.

thirty at checkout again for thirty dollars off your first week visit hellofresh dot com used the macoute burn everything now back to show if I really had to do like gymnastics mentally but this you're for those reasons guy into therapy thinking about myself differently yeah sort of going to see a trainer back stronger because I have a Lotta back problems and it's been better I haven't missed a single day work because I was having back spasms and I haven't been laid up I've been okay the most Amazon a little tweet some days and it's great yeah good what are three things that you can take away from this year that we're really power hour fuller positive or agents of change Asia Who I think two things one thing I mean I think I can think of a lot of things that were really like kind of powerful like in in therapy I've like started to work on taking responsibility like taking responsibility when it's I can say I'm sorry even if it means that someone else did something wrong to and you know what I mean like that's been really powerful and I can take like I can be like I'm sorry for this even if the other person doesn't apologize like almost it's almost equivalent to like also not taking things personally like taking taking my part but also not having attachment to what someone responds with I've been I think a good thing that has come out of the year is taking a pause I've gotten sick a lot this year have been sick like three or four times and me too yeah it's been like rough like illness wise and I think I take a pause now and even when like when I get emails that are heavy I take a break take a pause they don't respond right away when friends right me messages are maybe aren't a passive aggressive or something I leave him overnight like I am like taking pauses were they need to be and as a result like they're sort of like a gentleness and a taking things personally again and another I mean I think of you know I think out of loss like I think out new experience like extreme loss like the loss of a pet or someone something you loved unconditionally in love you unconditionally I think you get a soft nece that comes out of it like I I feel a softness in me gentleness I don't want to be mean to people don't want to be right I don't need to prove myself I I think I've softened a bit because like I love something for ten years and then it just gone yeah and you did I mean you as far as I don't know I I I look to you is definitely like an inspiration as far as caring for things and people I mean we were literally talking before recording because have a plant in your house that's beautiful and it's gotten this year like I remember society really is it's it's kind of it's kind of amazing we should somehow put it somewhere episode will just be a picture of federally Fig Yeah It's it's amazing but also these dogs have been in your life as long as I've known you and they're so great and I've got to spend so much time with them and they had haven't had a really wonderful life thanks to you yeah yeah and I know that I also said I was going to cry and I am of course but I know that like there's something I don't know there's some kind of beautiful about the fact that like I don't have any regret let's with her like I I know for a fact that I like gave her really good life and I mean I took that dog to the Grand Canyon yeah she saw the Grand Canyon some people in California have never even seen the Grand Canyon you know so people go there seem to great yeah and I like I don't know there's some been cool about like pouring your love into something with with knowing that it will go away but I feel good about how I loved her ern still feels that she's gone that's understandable but I feel I but I do like what's left me with I do like that it's left me like soft and honest and you know I don't feel the need to like gossip or criticized people because like none of that matters like right now arrested is just nonsense yeah I mean it's such a suffering losses such a crazy gut punch but it really pulls so many other things effective yeah it's unbelievable I mean I you know I lost a friend a couple of years ago and it was so surreal and the only thing that even and felt even close to that was my first major break-up which was so crazy because I had just about to turn twenty four wow wow ten years ago okay that's how old I am everybody but it's amazing but it was the same sort of like this head this heaviness and really just experiencing life and told way different way of notice it just the things you notice changes and you notice how people show up for you that's something I like really noticed is that like everyone I love showed up for me every single person every single ex boyfriend called me or texted me and was like I know how much you love those dogs like people people show up and use UN allison sent me like a bouquet of flowers it was so beautiful and like I was so overwhelmed with how how wonderful people were like that's another thing like when you get to walk away and be like I have a community of people who know how much I love something and know what type of loss and are willing to take one extra staff to show up that's amazing it's yes it's it really it it you know the loss you feel when and a loved one is no longer in your life is tremendous but the fact that you're you know it's it's that it's like it's the casserole thing it's the it's the year so sad because whatever someone in your family's gone but then you can't you have no room in your fridge 'cause people just keep bringing over baking dishes covered with her with casseroles in them and their from top to bottom yeah and it's it feels really nice yet it does it really feels like people are taking care of you my friends like brought me over food like I didn't have to feed myself like a week and there's something really beautiful we actually like sat Shiva one day and stuff like we just sat in the House all day okay and it was kind of amazing there's something loss loss like that so awful but then there are so many beautiful things that come of that it's almost like full circle yeah I mean not to shoehorn point but it's like I think so many awful things happen this year politically that we're just so consistently upsetting but it also caused a lot of people to re-evaluate what they think is important and show up in different ways and just the fact that people started protesting again in a really organized cool way people became more politically activated and active on on social media out in the world and he started doing charity Work Jerry Work Community all sorts of things that I would feel sort of disjointed if somebody on facebook inbetween come to my improv show if they were like oh we're going to meet at you know city all because there's this hearing happening and we want to go to what you'd be like what are you doing or you go I guess that person's really cares about this thing now it's like everyone has gone representatives do this do that and as much as it is I don't know I mean I was just thinking about how stupid everyone needs to be on twitter which is my sweet spot because I love saying tweeting stupid thing but I think it is a cool thing that now it has a greater purpose sometimes it gets sometimes it's still a little much but like yeah so yeah yeah but also like I agree I agree I think there's like I think it's interesting how we've all come together we've all risen up a bit and there seems to be a bigger community like I have a better I probably have a better sense of community this year than I've ever had in my entire life Yeah I've got some pretty solid groups let's go and everyone else has fallen away like anyone shopping interesting thing of this year you one that wasn't meant to be in my life has fallen away yeah that's very true and it it bothers me a little bit there was like a thing I was thinking about going to and I realized I don't need to support this person they would certainly not do it for me and it was a bit of a Gut Punch but I said no because I have other plans and there were people I really care about is like a lot and it's more important to spend time with them to follow through than it is to show up for someone who at the end of the day is in a close friend yes I love that this year we started believing women yeah for AH started we finally started believing women but but again a horrible thing Lena Dunham who still doesn't believe women somehow oh the deal possibly the worst take you know what I mean that's that's what I thought of every time I read that thing all you have to do with say nothing all you had to do I literally this is the craziest part about all of that stuff just say nothing just say nothing don't say any thing circle you have this opinion in that could possibly be very unpopular and harmful like if ya frankly like I be fine if someone's on pop you know someone's opinion like I like I like to eat meat because it helps my body fine but when you're dealing with like another human being's life come on who are you the wording of it of you know in these times it's getting to be a little bit complicated because it's so important and there's a revolution but also you know there's a all of these things that just aren't true and unfortunately this is one of them why would you say that also that number one you don't know that you weren't weren't present you don't know that and most of the time when people are sexually assaulted there aren't four people in the room no unfortunately it's between you and a Predator with like I know I heard someone the other day saying Yeah but like when do these accusations end and I was like I was like they don't because they never stop happening to begin with heads up there are so many times in my life where I've been sexually assaulted and never said a word they don't end I'll tell you why they don't end is because it takes courage and it comes out when it come was out and honestly every woman I know has been sexually assaulted so quite frankly these accusations will never end because it's all it's what's actually happening like sorry but this is the climate and this is the world and until we stop sexually assaulting women then then we'll stop accusing men of doing it and and to that end I also think that there needs to well it's already happening but I think people the definition of sexual assault needs to be hammered it into the brains of men specifically because yes there's so many I mean Louis C. K. when I was in college my favorite comedian ever and for a couple of years after that and now it's like I truly done but yes the thing is you hear and read a lot of garbage always from talks doc internet men were like he didn't even touch them so what he asked if he could do it he like for any listener who's not aware everyone's aware the man masturbated in front women and made them feel uncomfortable to completion and it's it doesn't have to be I just can't believe that I that that that the old school hold your head down scene in the movie where someone's screaming no the only thing a man thing yes salt I I read a.
