"Democrats yesterday offer two point, two, trillion, dollar coronavirus relief package and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin immediately engaged in talks Ansi policy in mnuchin spoke last night and agreed to talk again today the running out of time to reach a deal before the November election but their planned talks this week appear to be the most extensive engagement they've had in more than a month Senate Republicans in Mnuchin have also said, two point, two trillion it's too much to spend but MNUCHIN is said he's open to discussing it. It's not immediately clear whether the talks will bear fruit or whether Democratic leaders would use the bill to provide. Political cover for moderate. House. Democrats who've grown increasingly anxious over Congress's inaction on pandemic relief MNUCHIN has said his priorities in a new round of spending would be eight for small businesses and children. He's also talked about providing more assistance to the airline industry and approving another round of stimulus checks. There are some overlap in the White House is goals with things Democrats included in their new draft bill. The bill would fund a range of programs including many that Republicans have supported in recent months. For example, it would extend the paycheck protection program and provide one hundred, eighty, two billion dollars for K. The biggest budget item in the new package would be four, hundred, thirty, six, billion dollars in aid to states, cities in territorial and tribal governments that have experienced. Major budget crunches this year. The bill also would support an assortment of other programs including seventy, five billion for coronavirus testing and contact tracing. But my colleague Erika Werner reports that several Senate Republicans oppose spending any more money at all and it's unclear how that dynamic coupled with the Senate's focused on filling the Supreme Court, vacancy could affect the chances for any kind of deal.

Fauci clashes with Sen. Rand Paul over NYC's COVID sucess

"This coronavirus has been politicized from the jump in the United States. But this week's pandemic politics have been particularly jarring. It started on Monday. The CDC pulled guidance from its website that said that this virus mainly spreads by air guidance that they only posted. Friday guidance widely accepted as fact in the scientific community but the CDC pulled it and said, it had been posted in error not a great look lots of unanswered questions. Then on Wednesday Dr Steven Hahn Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration appeared before the Senate to reassure the nation that the vaccine approval process would not be politicized that a host of experts outside the organization would weigh in before any approvals were granted almost immediately after that happened president trump said in a briefing that may or may not happen and that the whole. Thing sounded quote like a political move at that same Senate hearing Wednesday we saw something rare Dr Anthony Fauci. The country's top infectious diseases. Experts seem to lose his cool with Senator Rand Paul. You've been a big fan of Cuomo in the shutdown. New York lauded New York for their policy New York had the highest death rate in the world. How can we possibly be? Jumping up and down and saying Ho Governor Cuomo did a great job hit the worst death right in the world no you misconstrued that Senator and you've done that repetitively in the past they got hit very badly. They've made some mistakes right now if you look at what's going on right now, the things that are going on in New York to get their tests. Positively one percent or less is because they are looking at the guidelines that we have put together from the task force of the four or five things of masks social, distancing outdoors more than indoors avoiding crowds and washing hands, or they've developed enough community immunity that they're no longer having the pandemic because they have enough immunity in New York, city tax challenged that senator. Free. Please Sir I would like to be able to do this because this happens with senator rand all the time you and not listening to what the director of the CDC said that in. New York twenty, two percent. If you believe twenty two percent is heard immunity I believe you're alone in that we're used to seeing heated exchanges in Congress, but this one felt different because Dr out she has been a paragon of patients during this entire pandemic we got in touch with him earlier today to ask his patience was running out but we started with what's to come with this pandemic as we head into winter. Good Morning Dr out she. Good Morning. How are you today? I'm doing well great to have you back on the show. Welcome to my closet. Okay, get good ventilation in there now be careful we don't want you fainting on me. Happy. Equinox and new season is upon us, and of course, winter is coming what's in store for the United States as as the seasons change during this pandemic well, you know it's going to be complicated because what we really need to appreciate is that as we enter into the full in the winter, a lot of things that we would have done outdoors, which is part of the public health programme the protocol a now going to have to be done indoors, which means it'll be an. Extra special challenge we often say the four or five things that really do work. If everybody implements them is wearing masks keeping a distance avoiding crowds outdoors than indoors washing hands. If everyone had done that diligently, we would not have seen some of the surges that we've seen that have given us. What I would consider is an unacceptably high background, and by background I, mean is the number of cases per day which even when they're in young people who most of whom are without symptoms, minimal symptoms nonetheless, it propagates the outbreak and you've got to get that down remember when we. Were trying to open the economy in the country a couple of months ago month and a half ago. The southern states you know literally metaphorically caught fire. And the number of daily cases were around seventy thousand with about a thousand deaths per day. Now, we're back down but you between thirty and forty. But like day you go yesterday was forty some odd thousand cases that's unacceptable as you enter the winter. If you WANNA, go into the fall in the winter and have to have the extra challenge of a potential flu season, which will have hopefully, we can mitigate it together with the fact that most people will be indoors in most climates. In this country, it's an extra challenge I would like to get that baseline way down way down in a few thousand, not thirty or forty thousand.

The Filmmakers Dilemma Dark Skin Tones

"April of little some interesting or different today for the this week in photo discussion among with my friend. Chris Fenwick If you have anything to do with final cut pro, you know this guy he he's one of those people that knows final cut pro and editing in general from the inside out backwards and forwards and all that and he's We'll get into that but Chris reached out to me a couple of the about a week or so ago and pose a really interesting question us. He said, you know what? How do you? How do you color ballots for darker skin tones? He was having problems with that and this was this was on the heels of the whole Simone biles controversy with Anti Liebowitz and. All that back and forth of they should hired a black photographer to shoot her or should the photographer shot heard? No or Annie's people? Should they have known how to process and color correct for blacks hint so anyway. So we decided to jump on and have this conversation just talk like you know two people that like this stuff and see if there's a solution or maybe there is no. Solution but Chris, which is these elite editor Ed slice editorial and I'll put the links to all of his stuff in the show notes and the the description for this episode on Youtube but follow him over there. But check out this discussion is pretty. It's pretty interesting. We'll be pretty interesting from the standpoint of just what's wet in the in the real world of color correcting for other humans. We go. Here we go starting to. All right. Chris. Renwick. Welcome to this week in photo man how you doing. Mr Johnson I'm doing well. Yes it's good. The I'm doing really good. You know what we were talking before we started recording. and. I got I. got a page just from chatting just. Before recording. Yeah Yeah where you do your hands. Okay. But always you know you're you're a wealth of information. You're humble about it. Obviously, which is why you get invited to speak at conferences and all this other stuff, and you'd probably have more work than you can deal with. But let's I want to segue into that stuff that that I talked about in the teas color balancing for darker skin tones, Black People Brown people, etc. But before we do that, tell us a little bit about Chris Renwick in slice editorial. In the world and how are you helping keep spinning? I don't think I help keep spinning all. Right. Now. That's that's that's frightening I I'm an editor and I tell people this all the time and they say Fascinating. What are you edit? I added a bunch of stuff you'd never want to watch. It's it's not that it's not that exciting. In the corporate communications corporate branding space. There is tons of work to do most people realize that whether it's photography or video or editorial like I do But frankly most of the stuff I work on, you'd Never WanNa Watch. It's not that exciting. It's a matter of fact I think the people that I make it for you know they're struggling to get their employees to had chip you know but but but the bottom line is it's a living and I've always said that to satisfy your own creative you know thing that you have to do. You're better off. I mean it's good that I don't rely on my job to do that and I'll. I'll tell you. That if you. If you try to be, you know to exude your best you know a Steven Spielberg George. Lucas. When you're doing my job, you're going to be a pain. Because you're GonNa have all these great ideas. I'm not saying the not good ideas, but they're not right for the project that you're working. And so You're better off. You're always better off serving the project and. Most of the stuff that I do, it's ahead he's talking and might be a graphic over shoulder that. Explains what he's talking about but I don't need seven different angles in tight close ups intention like no I don't need that and so if you WanNa do that you should totally do that. But doing on something you're producing and not that you're trying to get paid for. And It's it's just kind of a pet peeve of mine. You know you just keep keep your creative thing to to wear. It's a being asked for and I turned stuff out. That's what we do. It's not not really exciting but like I said, raise the Bill Corp video pays the bills you know keeps keeps keeps the Earth Spin and keeps spinning right there. That's absolutely absolutely and I'll tell you three a four days after Governor Newsom shut down the state of California were based. we were in production. and. We were in production because. On I kind of reminded everybody that we work with especially in the office that our core competency. is to. Help people disseminate information. That's what we do. We help people communicate, and even during a pandemic people have to communicate, and so we came up with some workflow ways to do that and I've talked about that on other shows maybe to talk about it here but it's not what we really came to talk about. But but we were I was working on Tuesday. I delivered my first client video before the week was up

"But what about as far as like You see my guy when I was growing up like it seemed like the horse racing in itself was just generally more popular amongst the younger generation of veterans. Are you seeing a decline. And I'm sure we've seen it over over the course of the last few years but has the interest in horse racing Kind of gotten rebirth. This year through the different gambling platforms that have become come available now here in New Jersey on line and there's so much more access to it. Is that helping your. Is that hurting the industry. I think It's it's tough to say right now and in my own thoughts I think eventually it's going to hurt horse racing. I don't think we can rely on on that outside They're betting more on other other sports than than they are to that. Horse racing and a very small percentage of each dollar is going towards purse money in horse racing as as far as the younger kid. And I don't know what what is social media done to to our sport compared to other sports It it doesn't seem to be as big and We don't see any commercials Outta here. I'm in southern California. You know for the better part of the year and You know here at Santa. Anita you don't see commercials. Publicizing says the racing. It's all social media. So I don't know if that's a good thing I I think he's still gotTa have France. The old newspapers Are Kinda gone you know but Television everybody is watching television and and I think this Mersal ads That the kids are seeing on TV. are beneficial and we've kind of got away from that in the sport and I think we need more of it. Yeah 'cause the actual sport itself is so awesome awesome. I mean I I. I've been following it for years. So it's like when when you follow the the game itself. It's really awesome so I just I do wish that they'd be some more publicity for especially when he's being racist as we just said you know standing either got some weekend with the holy bowl in the sand past. Wow so it's like I wish there was some more publicity Around the game itself to be honest with eighteen year. Yeah you and I both you know spending the full summer up there last year Saratoga racing is alive and well at Places like Saratoga. Oh good del Mar and Keeneland You know the the grandstand was packed. Every day. Up there and talk a lot of young young kids You know in their teens and early twenties with a girlfriend and and betting and They had so many interesting things and places for them to go on the backstretch. VEG- the right up close to the actual racehorses they it's almost like being hands on but then you talk about del Mar and Keeneland. They had the small boutique. Take meetings and Doing well racine is that part in that part Keeneland man that the U K kids come out there the students they love their people. Lexin well if Kentucky they love horseracing than in things are alive. Well they're southern California. We're we're so sort of an island out here and we don't have The horse population out here or they opportunities to travel you know three or four hours to a different race attack in different menu if need be so I I think that some changes Are are not too far ahead of yeah and I think I I think it's great excellent date night You know especially for me and my wife we have a chance to get away from the kids or whatever like that I if the excellent place to go and You know where you can be I. I also wish I would come back and you've just spent a lot of racetrack there. Do you have a I mean I'm sure you've been asked a lot of times but is there a favorite track that you have the eventual over your career that you always look forward going back to. Yeah I mean I'm here Shannon either right now this is home and has been since nineteen eighty four at the most beautiful for a guy I believe in the world but setting a San Gabriel mountains in about seventy three degrees out here this morning just finishing up training and patacula morning And there's no other Prettier place in the world You know my favorite Tractor ride was Belmont Park because the business long wide sweeping turns I think it's the fairest sack in the country. As far as betting go I think the best source has a better ed or chance of winning at philmont part than anywhere else except for Jockey Air I mean you have time to recover from stakes that are made or or You know get and shoved back race but Santa Anita would be my favorite checking in the world. Yeah very cool yeah. I spent quite a bit of time at Belmont. Park Myself But you you mentioned earlier there seabiscuit. What was what was your kids response to your acting in seabiscuit? And you got any other acting roles coming up you know. We're going on a postive twenty years right. Now since she was made in The older kids they were all all about man they loved it then and had a lot of fun while I was filming and they were able to come on a couple of times and and check out behind the scenes and Mattie hey my ten year old you know she she didn't even know about it and and we put it on. This has been several months ago and She hadn't seen China and she goes. Okay we gotta watching horse racing movie. WanNa Dad's movies so I come on screen and she looked at me and and she looked at television television. She looked back at me and she pointed to her eyes and she's got blue eyes. It's got this big smile on her face as she never said a word the rest of the movie just sat there and watched it and She was looking at me a different way after that movie after she had watched it Different way for two or three days and then she went back to normal and I was just add again. Well I mean I know. We're just about a month the new decade here guy. What kind of goals are planned? The I know you got the racing syndicate going on here. What kind of goals or the players? Happy Yourself in the future. Well I want to continue to build on that built the brand if Gary Stevens Racine I want to continue through the television television work. I'm doing a lot of bloodstock works and work in the sales now and I just wanted to do that to grow. This is a second page of of my life and and You know I've done a lot of different things from training horses to be jockeys agents who you know the the jockey actor I'd love to do more acting The thing with me is I need to stay busy. Man I I get bored Baizley and I need a need a regiment every day And that's the Racing Club student for me and and along with the work that I do Always gotta be prepared. Yeah very cool and the last thing on a hit you would hear Gary I love ask all the dads that I get on the podcast. What type of advice do you happen? Do Dad or for that about the deep father. WHO's out there listening? Man Life changes and and Just be patient with your kids A lot of mistakes are going to be patient with yourself to be Taking with your your spouse or the mother of Of Your children. It's a it's a team effort It's not too different than than training a young resource So you've gotta teach them the right things but don't be too harsh gone. I'm allowed them to spread their wings and and Every one of your kids are gonna be different and That's that's pretty cool when you see the different personalities developing and the direction that your kids are going what their interests are what their interests may any not be the same interests as you try and get involved with the things. They're interested in as well as the the things that you're interested in the Patients you very well said I love the message. It's been an honor for me. First Class Father Garry Stevens. Welcome to I last fatherhood. Oh thank you tried. Hard to be first class. Don't annoy succeed at that but learned a lot over the over the years of fatherhood we all do. Let's start right here. How many kids do have how old earning I've got the four adult kids from my first marriage? That are all doing well right now. I've got six grandkids and one on the way and I've got my dutiful ten year your own daughter Mad He says she's just started to play a lot of sports and Growing up way to fast very good you get involved with coaching with her with the sports at all. You kind of enjoyed that stuff from sideline to a little coaching at home She loves to play. She's very focused. And I was telling my my parents or grandparents this morning that reminds me a lot when I was young. I've I advocate drummer from a young age and had the practice every day and I didn't always necessary necessarily really like it but I knew I had the practice to be good and she's very focused. She'll come home for basketball practice. Eat dinner and they wanna go out and practice more with me so it's pretty cool. Yeah that's awesome guy if you could just take a minute here to hit my listeners. But a little bit about your background what you do. Oh I've been jockey Since nineteen seventy nine. Join the hall of fame. In Nineteen Ninety seven one three Kentucky Derby Winning Colors Thunder Gulch in silver charm was my last seven three Preakness v Three Breeders Cup Eleven excuse me Mutts Eleven Breeders Cup races and was fortunate to be a big part of the movie seabiscuit. Good playing George Wolf and then. Hbo Series Of short lived for one season. COUPLA yeah just an incredible career Gary no doubt about that and and how in all this how do you. How old were you when you first? He came at that and how to becoming a father. Kinda change your perspective on life man. I was a baby myself. I was nineteen years years old when I had my first child Ashley and You know just turning twenty and You know it was. It was a big change and The responsibilities changed a lot. I I went to a a horrible divorce. that started started in nineteen ninety. Five and I went overseas for a while Hong Kong and was back and forth about three months and MISSED MISS A lot of the early parts of of my Oldest children and then We had the reintroduce ourselves You know in their teens and extremely close with All four the oldest children and and you know I wish I could have been. The father should them early early on that I am to my my youngest daughter Mattie right now But you learn a lot of I mean being married you know at eighteen years old and they haven't you I kid when when you're just turning twenty years old It's it's too young but it it it is what it was and I wouldn't change anything With my relationship with with all my kids yeah very well sad gary. I'm a guy that grew up. You know You know couldn't wait until I was older than bet on horses. I grew up the track at meadowlands. Oh TV with Dr Hoping. I never wanted to ride them. What was the genesis of? You actually wanted to seek a career and being a Jockey I oh you know what I was going to be a pro football player in all honesty and obviously into my size Way Too small to be a pro football player. But I've always loved. I Love Sports. I was a wrestler in high school and Actually left school at the end of my junior year to pursue my my jockey career and Looking back I didn't. I didn't realize how Lucky I was GONNA have to be to have the success that I've had. I've put a lot of hard work in and ends voted a lot of my time To being a professional jockey and I guess certain opportunities I was able to capitalize on and get to the highest level but and looking came back I just think how how lucky I was to be in the right spot at the right time and Should I stayed in school. Yes probably but I got my education through travel and read you know Paid for all that education traveling the world wide. Yeah yeah that's it's awesome Gary and Obviously you've had some tremendous You know spills over your career. I remember I think it was the million You know they w the bionic bionic man because of all year Replacement Surgeries. What was kind of your your kids Riyadh and so all your injuries That happened over the course of your career. And did they ever. You know asked you to stop racing at any time because of it no You know they were relieve Here most recently in two thousand eighteen. Yeah I wrote my last November nineteenth of two thousand eighteen Drove my neck and had to have a triple fusion In my neck and and that kind of changed everything I was Millimeters from being a quadriplegic and and You know at my age of a of fifty four at the time. I'm fifty six right now and it was time to call it quits. A dodge bullets. I came back from a full neighbor. Placement and the full hip replacement and Had Success High levels and I'm still writing very good horses. My business has dwindled a little bit. I had a lot of good horses. Beholder of such Gotcha that retired and all of a sudden. I didn't have a lot of business and I was riding Cheaper kind of races and stuff and not not pepe racist that a hall of Famer should certified So in a way God was looking out for me and said hey it's time and You know doing the sportscasting now. And I started a worse partnership partnership Gary Stevens Racing Club. That's keeping me busy and trying to grow that right now and and the kids are behind me in that and My oldest son. He's the only one that's cheesy. It's involved in horseracing actually chained on his own but right now he's working for Robert De Niro and Hot Springs Arkansas Oakland part of All the other kids are there and something else but matty my ten year old daughter. She asked me question after question. Data that she did this she did that. She's you know all this stuff when she was just a baby that was happening and kind of catching up on. What what my career was? Yeah that's about. As far as discipline goes guy. What type of discipline? Aaron Are you as a dad and had to change from your sport You know what your daughter. Well thanks him as a lot. Now you know back in the day a kid if they were Atalanta gotta Spank and they got a swat on the button with the hand and and You know it's it's more talking to the kids now and I've learned a lot of patients over the years with with age. And you know it's funny..

"Week. My guess is reverend becca stevens. She is an author speaker episcopal priest social entrepreneur and founder and president of dislo farms in nashville. She's most notable for founding magdalene nineteen ninety-seven which is now called this'll farms to heal empower and employ female survivors of human trafficking prostitution and addiction when we talked about everything that goes into healing and growth of the women that come to this farms how it works and the products they've become most known for the most interesting part for me was learning earning about reverend stevens pass with sexual abuse and how starting thistle farms a place where love heels has in turn helped her heal her own journey. Here's becca stevens okay so this'll farms is a community of women healing from prostitution trafficking and addiction. I keep hearing hearing about trafficking specifically being so but so much bigger than we even know about especially in nashville. Is that true yeah well. It's not just especially nashville. It's just especially in the world. It's a global issue and people are just really wrapping their hands around in their minds around it and the resources around it you know we're just getting getting started on really understanding the depth and breadth of it but the state department report says that <hes> the united states is the one of the three top countries in the world along with mexico and the philippines and you know human trafficking is linked to foster care system to undocumented young women. It's linked to runaways and the prison system early childhood abuse. There's so it's like a it's a broader category. I think than anybody i realized about really just the most vulnerable young women in our world who get exploited so when you first started did this whole company it was magdalene right which was the place where women can come in just stay for two years so it started as a residential community back in ninety seven but for just five women that's how we started and we grew the residential piece for about four years and then it was you know it was just it dawned on me is like we talk about loving women but if we're really loving women we have to be concerned about their economic well-being so that's when we started the social no justice enterprise and started making bath and body care products and just building a company in forbes magazine says the reason we are successful is where emission and with a company not a company that found emission so it starts with a mission for starts with the women it starts with housing. That's the mission and out out of that arose this whole enterprise so when they come for the housing though it's also medical care..

"Welcome to episode for twenty four remembering former guest and the late comedian Brody Stevens. The this episode is a couple couple of thoughts of mine an Email from a listener upfront on related to this. And then replaying of episode one hundred from February of two thousand thirteen which was my interview with Brody Stevens. And I'm playing it in its entirety from the opening of the show all the way through the end of the show. So all of that is to say if you've already heard that until your show, there's not a whole lot of new stuff in this one. But I, you know, I went back and forth on whether or not to air this one to kind of honor Brody, and then there was a part of me that was like well as at exploitive of you do. To do that. But you know, it's it's I don't think so it's something that I wanted to do I want to do and listening back to my interview with him. Of course, brought up a lot of feelings of sadness that he's not here anymore because he truly made me laugh. He was an original voice in comedy. And just been thinking about him. It's been a week since he took his life. And I just been thinking about him a lot this this week. And you know, I think is a lot of us do when somebody takes their life. You know, we we want to think about what what contributed that. What were the factors was it? His new medication was at him tired of dealing with bipolar one and dealing with medication. Was it was he worried about his career, you know, as you'll hear in this interview. View. He he talks a lot about his career. And I sometimes wonder did he have a balanced life outside of his career. Did he take it too? Seriously. You know, when we'll never have the answers to those things. But what I do know is I've I fought in miss him. And we were not close friends by any means, but we would perform together sometimes on the same show and we played softball together. A couple of times, and he just truly made me laugh, and I'm glad I got to tell him how much he he made me laugh. I was watching some footage of him on YouTube and her maybe I was reading the quote of him. But jokey had was when he would be struggling in front of an audience, which would happen quite frequently. But he had this this ability to will them into getting on board with him just a fearlessness, and he would say sometimes when an audience wasn't on board. You know, in in the inimitable way that he would do it. You know, he would say, you know, why need your energy? You gotta give me something back. I'm up here on given out energy. I'm doing a positive Bush. Here's how it works is scratch. Your back. You shave mine. Oh, yeah. In next week's episode is also going to be remembering somebody, and it's an episode that I have never erred, and it was interview I recorded almost a year to the day since she her life was taken she worked with her name. Was Jen Golic, and she was therapist and it made national news about a year ago. She worked with combat veterans with PTSD up in your Ville, California, and they had to reprimand or release a vet who is not respecting the boundaries of the facility and he returned with. A bunch of guns and took three therapists hostage. Jan was one of them. And he eventually. Killed them and then took his own life. And I'm sorry. This is such a Downer. But you know, this is the reality of. Mental health today and. I wanted. I don't want to shy away from that stuff in this podcast. And there's a part of me that fears that oh it's going to bump people out too much. They're gonna stop listening. Your podcast is going to tank, and you won't have any way to survive. Welcome to my brain. But. I entered. There's just a part of me that feels like it's if I'm gonna do this podcast for living..

But he did say I'm talking about the president at a Missouri rally on Friday night that there was a lingering stench at the Justice department that we're going to get rid of cadet. Lingering stench be rod Rosenstein, Rosenstein. We'll find that out soon because the imagined the whole expanded offer you get fired from a job. But when you get fired from a high profile job, but even worse and the job like this where they entire country the entire nation is focused on the the limo or whatever the the SUV, whatever it is rod Rosenstein is going to be pulling up with his motorcade probably for the last time to the White House or that's what everybody's suspecting. All eyes are focused on that. And of course, when if that happens, we'll let you know as soon as it does I wanted to tell you about this Amazon thing that I think is pretty ingenious. They're putting fake packages and delivery trucks to find out which drivers are stealing their items, the dummy packages are placed in vehicles at random and come with fake labels. But the usually empty don't they think the drivers don't wanna packages empty or not? But either way drivers were scandal labels at every package. Bald around delivering if they scanned a dummy package and error. Message will show up the driver could eat or call their supervisor or keep the package until the end of the shift and return into a new warehouse. Now, if the package isn't return, the drivers likely stolen, Amazon shed, the theft has been a giant problem for them. But didn't say how many packages are stolen each and every year. You know, the amazing thing is some people. I probably shouldn't tell you the story, but I'm gonna tell you anyway, some people actually abide by the rules like Ryan Lee of because it's a secure area. A lot of times UPS or FedEx or even a post office will leave a package. Inside the doorway because it's secure. Apple requires that an adult sign for the package, I assume so there's no problems whatsoever. So on Friday when I got home from work, the two you may recall the story for some reason last week when the iphones the two Goldens and the space grade what's your wanted? I don't know why. But I did. And for some reason, the two gold iphones were left at the door with no signature whatsoever. And I was stunned because when I came home from the hospital on Friday night, and it got the other notice from the UPS, Sherri, we missed you. We needed to go signature, blah, blah, blah. And that's the one I'm waiting for. Now that's out for delivery. And I pray to God that they don't deliver it until after I get home after the show today because they don't want to go through another day. But just goes to show you sometimes they leave something because they feel it secure. And they've never had a problem at other times. You know, they go by the book, and to me if something were to happen to those gold iphones that driver that particular driver? I don't know what he would have signed. I'll give an example. A couple months ago. I bought something off Amazon and the the box was too big to put in the mailbox. The male person is usually too lazy to walk to the house. So they have these lockers next to the mailbox the problem is two months ago. The lockers were broken there were no Keesing themselves. Basically you can put it in the locker. But it was just like leaving it on top of the locker because you could just open it. So I didn't get the package, and I called the company and the company said, well, let me check let me track it, and it was left at a locker said, well, that's pretty funny because to lockers have no lock. So what's the point of leaving in the locker? And a woman says, well, y'all have to go to the post office and find out so I go to the post office and in the forgot the line for what seemed like forever going to go all the way on four forty one for my post office, even on this one around the corner from my house, that's another story. And they told me well, it was left in the locker. So it can you tell me which postal work was working a day. No. We can't because there's. Pretty much every day because we don't have a steady one on that route. As of yet. I said, well, they're telling me they left it a locker, but there's no locks on the locker. So what's the point of leaving it in the locker? So after the company was notified again, by me, they finally said wait a few more days if you don't get it. We'll send you a new one. They made good on the new one. I was grateful for that. But some people just don't, you know, they just don't use their head. I mean, I've had packages I've seen packages that we've seen these videos where these FedEx workers are UPS workers will be too lazy to walk up to the house and they'll toss the package. And I've had a package that was tossed in front of the door. I know this for two reasons one because it was upside down on its side until I got cameras out there. So I saw the FedEx guy throwing the package in front of the house. So they don't know what's in the package. That's somebody. That's lazy and shouldn't have a job like that. Maybe I should post by pack package. Throw. I was going to say throw up the throwing of the package. To get this guy in trouble. Because I think it's disgusting. Luckily, nothing was broken. But this is this is the world we're in today a lot of people just get lazy. Now look for nothing. But when it feels like a hundred five outside, I feel for these guys they don't even have air conditioning, these trucks, I don't know how they do their jobs other than I guess to get used to it. When I first moved down to Florida. I had a car that had just a blower it. There was no air conditioning. I mean, what my mom bought this car for me in New York. Whoever thought I'd need air conditioning. And I don't know how. But somehow I managed with that car without air conditioning for let me see one or two maybe at least four or five years in Florida. I don't know how I did it because it was just an eye windows tinted and the blower actually blue pretty cold air, but still one hundred and five degrees outside it's hot. So I don't know how I did it the only thing can think of and this is the way the UPS FedEx and the postal workers. Do it is you just get used to it? And you just kind of like roll with the trend. I guess I don't know. But I know I was one of those people. I couldn't do it today. If I get in the car, the air conditioners, not working, I'm panicking immediately. I'm freaking out just like in the studio. It's not if it's not like fifty degrees in here. I got a problem. Because it just needs to be called in order for me to operate properly. Looks like rod Rosenstein people or his motorcade, or whatever you wanna call it heater just pulled up or they're about to pull up at the White House, which doesn't mean anything yet until he goes in. And here's this meeting with another thing that really bothers me is that how is it possible that they wouldn't know in the White House in the Oval Office or in the situation room a guarantee they do now. But how do they not know if somebody has a recording device of any kind? Would this be a standard thing at the frequent White House? I mean, if other government agencies that have this the Pentagon has this NASA has this. Why wouldn't the White House? Have this? It just doesn't make sense. But then again, half the stuff in Washington doesn't make any sense to me. What do you think all this eight seven seven eight fifty eighty five eighty five quick time out? You're listening to the rich Steven show..
