"I sorta hitman Hearns get knocked out by cigarette. This is where fights went fifty rows, not twelve. You wanna talk to me about boxing name, Mattamy place. And I'll show what just because I got a boxing story on the show with me and max, don't mean I don't know my boxing. My next guest is one of the great great boxes we've ever seen in history. You know something special about you. When your last name eight Robinson, but you should Ray and everybody except because you are bad man. I'm talking about the one and only Sugar Ray Leonard right here with Steven ESPN radio. ESPN. What's going on my brother? How're you Matt? Still pumped up. Geared up one shock. What, what is applies cigarette? Let me explain and I need your help here. I am in no way, nor did. I have a question. Andy Ruiz's boxing ability. Clearly you watch him fight. You call it the fight. He's an exceptional fight a good hand. Speed drill. Really good counterpuncher. Obviously got some pop in punch etcetera. What I was lamenting is that we were salivating for wild versus Anthony Joshua. And the allure of a mega fight has been ruined because we saw how Anthony Joshua went crashing down and because of that the spectacle, the, the way we look for what we were looking for to wilder Anthony Joshua. Encounter has been somewhat compromise to that. You say what? You can't judge Brooke buys cover my food is I when I saw Andrew release and I looked at his body, right? 'cause I didn't know he's not a household name. Right. And I looked at his body and I said this guy hasn't trained but I felt something was going to happen. Didn't know exactly what it would be something to Matic. Was gonna take place I swear to cut it was like the Primin issue. And when the Feis star, the first round feel not process. We all do that. Second. Around. He went down. Anyways went down. I said, this is it this perking it. And then when we got up, I said, this is not supposed to happen. And then he came back and he not down Joshua twice. I mean, isn't that say me I was like, yeah twice? Yeah I'm like, what the hell is going on? And I knew then 'cause I so in the face expression, a race that he wasn't there to just collect his chick. He was there to win. And I saw someone of a different, Josh. We just wasn't into the fight. He never really get started. In the fight sugary when I. When I saw Anthony Joshua Saturday night, I saw a guy, tell me if I'm wrong, I saw a guy that looked gassed in the second round before the knockdown. I saw God. It looked like he didn't wanna fight by the time. The third round ended and I saw God that was just trying to survive until he got put away in the seventh round. What did you see? You're right. He was not. He was not in there. He didn't have the tiger no pun intended. He didn't have that look that look that we have people don't realize I try to express sometimes. But when we ended dreadful we look in the mirror when I look in the mirror if I could see one or two people Sugar Ray the fight of the champion walk Raina the civilian. Very few Times Mirror handful. Seen Ray Leonard. And it's the most frightening moment ever walked towards the ring people change h champ. And you say you have no idea how feel because I'm not there yet. "I don't think it has anything to do with magic and opened has anything to do with Jeanie or Pelinka. I think it's just it doesn't make sense for me. That, that would be his move. I think most a lot like I almost see him making more sense. You know, for him to join just about any other team. You could you could almost convinced me going to Detroit would be amazing for him and playing alongside Blake Griffin as opposed to having to go with what it would do for him to play alongside LeBron. I could be wrong though. Stephen, because one thing about Kevin that is, was undeniable is that he has he has changing mood and the way he feels here in mid may has left me to do it the way he may feel in five or six weeks. And that's just the reality of it. Does right here with Steven ESPN radio ESPN news, just got news. Wanted to share some stuff with you, Brian. They just sent it to me, you probably already know this. All right. But you've got these all NBA teams that have been announced for the first time in eleven years, or twelve years, rather, the eleven year run of LeBron James on the all NBA first team has come to an end. Instead is to Greek freak Janas, enter Toco James harden. Steph curry. Paul George and a Denver Nuggets, the joke, Nikolai Joe Yokich. He's first their first team. Second team is Damian Lillard. Kevin durant. Joel embiid. Kawai landed in kyri, urban thirteen is Russell Westbrook. Blake Griffin Rudy go Gobert, Kemba Walker with LeBron James your thoughts. Anybody on that list? That's misplace that belong somewhere different than when they are. Well, Stephen a this has major major implication, so Kemba Walker making the all NBA team makes an and again, you can focus on the first team if you want, I'm not gonna focus on that to me. It's all about who becomes supermax eligible Ryan, but Walker just became supermax eligible, which means he is now in position to ask the shoreline Charlotte Hornets for five years and two hundred and twenty million dollars. He's not getting a Brian Vinnie. He's not getting. He's not getting NFL, and if he doesn't get it. I be surprised if he stayed. So while this is good news for Kemba Walker. I think the Charlotte Hornets just got very challenging news. Okay. Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards Bradley Beal was the first man out he finished with the most votes, who did make it. I thought Bradley Beal is gonna make it. That means that Bradley Beal is not supermax extension. Eligible this summer, and I think his chances of, of staying in Washington, just increase had he had gotten a supermax eligiblity. The wizards would have been under tremendous pressure to offer it to them. I don't know if they would offer it to him, and he may have asked for trade, and that could end the have him end up in Los Angeles. Now whoever gets hired and GM may wanna trade him anyway. But that was a huge turn of events who is going to get that spot. Well enough until it a couple of things number one, I know this for fact, Michael, Jordan. In Charlotte, Hornets are not going to trigger that luxury tax not gonna pay luxury foot team. That's not making the postseason did just not going to do it. So that's a big challenging thing for Kemba Walker right there. Just like you said, that's number one. Number two. We heard so much talk about LeBron James having talked to a few people, mainly Bradley Beal because you'd love to see him in a Laker uniform, the belief is, you know, what go ahead and ask the wizards for trade, because the wizards recognize they can't win with those two and John wall may not even play next season. We don't know. So where does that leave the wizards? With Bradley Beal, I don't know what's going to happen with that, while we're on that subject. What do you think Bradley Beal should do? Well at this point does not make sense for him to extend his contract if if he had gotten this just a couple more votes. It would have made tons of sense to me. I think that the wizards and they're interviewing different general manager candidate, most people, I've talked to believe that it makes the most sense for the wizards to rebuild. And if you could get your hands on that number. Four pick..

"So make the switch to Pennzoil synthetics today on lower with us right now is one of the great great football analysts this nation has ever seen. Guru on college football guru on the NFL draft the great one himself Mel kiper. Julia. What's up, buddy? Are you doing man? Talking about overrating. Let's get right to it. Because it's been driving me. Crazy number one. Is it a surefire thing that column or is going to be the number one pick in the NFL draft. I can't say that I can't speak the zone accardo's my opinion two weeks ago was ninety nine point nine percent that they will take Murray. And I'm gonna stand by my opinion. That's what I feel Tyler bar won't be the number one pick. They're doing what they're doing because they need to they need to make it look like, hey, it's a tough call. Josh Rosen is a great quarterback. We this is not a slam dunk because they're going to try and trae Josh Rosen and get a first-round pick for him. So I always thought that was smart. Do it that way you see the pelicans doing it with Anthony Davis for trying to I think we look at Kyla Murray. That's everything they want box office. So what he'd be great as opposed to think? Real Josh Rosen to be Andy Dalton or Alex Smith. Yes. In my opinion, ninety nine point nine nine nine percent. Kyle up on is he worthy of it. For them. He is as if cliff Kingsbury cliff Kingsbury is not that coach he's not the number one tech. I'm if they wanna trip snow coach in you know, old school. There's no way speed time or traded up for him last year for Josh Rosen. It's going to go through that and not have quitted Williams or Nikko. So that would have been the pick one in Williams Nick a hat Murray. Number one, not fitting this rant. I remember back. We didn't think even being this trip back to few months ago. Coverage on your right here with Steven ESPN radio. ESPN is one of the concerns that I think Mel nobody has really mentioned enough as far as I'm concerned is that you got a rookie coming in and column he's the Heisman Trophy. He was absolutely spectacular. We know what he brings to the table. Okay. But the questions about his size is height, etc. Etc. That would be one of the reasons why he wouldn't be the conventional number-one pick. If it were anybody, but Kingsbury that will coach, but when kings were talking about a rookie coach you're talking about a rookie coach in Arizona. This is his first year..

"They don't look at it as like their coach taken away their game. They look at it as you know, what I'm gonna play to my strengths. And I like Purdue. Says Greenberg right here with Steven ESPN radio. ESPN news, listen, but I like Tennessee, I look at grant Williams. I look at look at the Admiral Admiral show fueled. I look at these boys. And I say, you know, what listen they've got some potential. They they they're together. They believe in themselves. They've got a hard nose edge about them. They were second to LSU and in their division. But I just think that Tennessee can get this done. What do you believe they have to get it done to offset all of the supremos? You threw out there about Purdue. Yeah. I think Jordan is going to be the k- Jordan bone his ability to defend Carson, Edward's bones. Been like kinda to me guy that makes things go for Tennessee. He's aggressive offensively. Maybe the most productive point guard in the in the SEC. But it's defensively. He's got to do a good job of not allowing Carson Edwards get going early. If he does that Tennessee is gonna win if he's unable to do that produce gonna win this game Purdue Purdue as great bap, and the other thing is the bench of Tennessee Tennessee's benches at times disappeared. They've gotta get something out of their bench for them to win. Coach to me the game of the week in his UNC, Auburn that's what I'm looking at. I mean, I'm loving this game right now because I remember how Auburn handle their business against Tennessee in the SEC championship game. But I'm looking at them right now, they were able to beat Kansas. All right and beat them handily beat them by about fourteen. How good is this orbiting how much of a threat are they to the North Carolina? Tar heels tar heels ROY Williams. Well, here's the Kansas the Kansas. You know, we all that we get Kansas. We think Kansas is the pleaded. No, you guys a book, you know, Silvio desouza. No literal Vic, and then they graduated for guys. So I mean, that's a little different look Auburn. They create chaos if they can create chaos, and then turn you over and get out in transition and shoot their threes. They're very good because they get in the half court. They're not a very good half-court defensive team the other hand, you don't mind North Carolina. They're gonna run, but they're running for layups. I mean, do those are running Kobe whites coming at you at warp seed. So as long as Carolina takes care of the basketball. I think they run Auburn off the free point line. They don't think they over help on Jared, Harper's penetration. I think they pound Auburn on the glass, and they get the shop they want, and I think Carolina wins. But it will be an entertaining game one of the things coach that I watched we're talking to Seth Greenberg. Right. He was Stephen ESPN radio. He has been news one of the things watching Duke struggle against UCF on Sunday. Before squeezing out that one point victory. I was incredibly nervous because I was like look, man. I want Zion plans. I am playing until the last possible minute of the college basketball season. I think college basketball, particularly in this day and age need him that much how much do you feel college basketball needs Zion? Williamson at this particular moment in time with the NCAA tournament going on. Yeah. Yeah. Me designs been he's been the story. I mean, he's must see TV just look at all rating. So I mean, you mentioned look I mean, you you mentioned sign and your ratings go up the thing that makes I Williamson so special and everyone's gonna talk about the running in the jumping and explosiveness and how can a guy that big bat large to me. It's a smile to me. It's his genuine Tuesday to me. He's always talking about his teammates. You know, you can talk about what he does on the court. I loved what he does when he handles winning the enjoyment. He has seen his teammates be successful to me. He's made Duke much more likable. You know, we think of Duke time, she the love him or your hate him. It's hard not to like Zion Williamson at it's the way it is. And his his his genuine joy of playing the game..

"About basketball, you can't wait a guy that played in the NBA. That knows how hard it is to play in the NBA. Then those how hard it is to succeed in the NBA that also succeeded less than LeBron James and then turn around and question his effort, and whether or not he cares. I have no issue with anybody include a wall CLYDE Frazier who looks at the brawn James game and die sex that he could do better here here here here or there. I have no problem who for anybody that looks LeBron James and looks at the fans and say, look, this is what fans are saying about you. So that might not be a good look, but to sit up there and say, he don't care. Come on, man. That's going to fall that's going to that was strong. But LeBron brought that on himself, and I just wanna say this right here. I thought when I watch LeBron two thousand nine hundred dollars. I hear that. I would never see a high school basketball player that good at that age. It's a kid Michigan by the name of you money. Basically just wanted division one states happy ship. He averaged thirty and ten he will be the number one pick for years from now straight out of high school coming from Michigan. He's better than the bronze Jiang's Chris Webber manage their play high school basketball name name, again is name is name of the Mani Bates ninety eight American okay special when I say special they call him. Kevin durant? Two point. Oh, he's unbelievable. Six nine can play the one through five. He could do everything he put the he put the superman Cape on over the weekend. It was unbelievable. And we talking about the Brian James and somebody how he's been successful. Then the NBA which have but a lot of people when you have that much greatness expectations. Come with that. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. Listen, listen, chip that that's like somebody. Listen, I could sit up here. And do what I do every day. We could disagree with me until the cows come home. You can even sit up there and say damn I disagree with Stephen. I don't know what he talking about. But what if somebody came to man, he lazy really no agreement? Agree. We agree. A while rate. You can't praise. Do that. He can't do that. Right. I don't agree with him. In terms of what he said about him being lazy about the teams my point. Lebron James is you came to LA LA is about winning championships. First shock had to learn that get the ring. I you could do space, right? This. There. Kobe have a ring in this version because he was a rookie. No this Jack have already list. Shack have ring in this first year in LA, no, demand Santa four-year deal. The main son of Right know. now. I know I know you believe he will not win one. And I respect that what I'm trying to say is you can't talk about his career in LA as if it's over when it just begin. Agree. And I guess what? If he wins the LA the near the we'll change as a right now little broad, James. This was a failed sees what one hundred percents. So what? So he failed this season. No doubt about it. They would afford see when he got injured, and then they collapse when he came back they collapsed before he came back. And then it continued to knows knows once he returned. My point is at the end of the day call it a failed season hot. Can we can't call it a failed season and leave it at that? I agree. I thought he would a little bit too far. I thought he went a little bit to appreciate the call, man. Gotta bounce. Always appreciate your call back anytime. My man champ from Detroit live right here with Steven ESPN radio. ESPN news, Robert you'll obviously go ahead. Okay. I just like to run ball you. No one. All the only aren't talking about a sleeper team. "Kingsbury factor with the Zona cardinal everything. Kind of has come together. Perfectly for him to be the number one pick overall. We're talking about Virginia right here with Steven ESPN radio. ESPN news running back on offense and Lyman showing up at the NFL scouting. Combine today. This is the day for them when I think about offense of Lyman Melkite Virginia. I think about this kid quitting Nelson that the colts drafted I think about how he buffeted the offensive line. I think about how much more pleasurable life was for Andrew luck in his return last year after missing the entire previous season. And so obviously when you talk about an offensive line. That's almost everything in a world of football in this day and age is Dan offensive lineman to stand out in your mind that everybody should pay attention to and give recognition to but this upcoming NFL draft. No, there's nobody in that league. And that's the issue. There's not an offense or guard in that league is so on Taylor Florida will end up being the top pure tackle. I think Jona Williams from Alabama winds up top pure guard. Maybe even a center, I think there's some guys that are going to be second to fourth rounders like Chris Lynch from for Boston College like Kana McGovern from. Penn State that are going to be go Ben Shaw from Wisconsin or be really good players in the NFL. But they're not gonna go Chuma Adoga from USC is a guy ROY lake. Underrated. Maybe second rounder. He's only six three and a half. But he's got long arms. Great feet. So I think there's going to be plenty opportunities without fence alignment in that second third fourth round area. But in the first round, it's just not happening colleges. Developing wide receivers they're not developing offense. It back. What about the running back spot for this is who do you like good? I like Josh Jacobson Alabama. I like him as a first round us ability. I think he can do everything you wanna running back to doing runs with a chip on a shoulder. He runs hard. He was productive the second after seasoning, chechnyq and block. I think you look at a guy like Devon single tear Florida Atlantic over seven hundred career carries never been hurt. He's like, I very dependable would like to catch a little more than think a work on once. He's in the league. But he's a good pure running back hiding if the guy like mile Sanders, very underrated coming out of Penn says bench snow under rain coming out of Kentucky. I think those guys Bryce love coming off the injury were how far does he dropped the it was a one time. Remember the first round pick. Yeah. Baby. And Harris, the forgotten men and Alabama. He went back to Alabama. But if he's the guy, but it ended up being the Josh Jacob show lately here. How far does Damien higher soldiers? You get into the third round or go in the second round where he probably should Daryl Henderson, very versatile at Memphis. Can do it all David Montgomery? Keep the. Chains. Moving type of inside guy who's got a little city outside. So there's a ton of running back Steven most of which will go all of which outside of Jacobs will go second to fourth round. It's going to be some really good running backs in that late. Let's say they too early faith Ri category..

"But they got that cleaned up. You know, it took about half the season there. Well, there was some hits. There were just like mind boggling head shakers, but it took the officials a little huge responsibility on them. So, you know, and it's human error is going to be part of all of this. But when you really look at the game hitting the other guy as hard as you can the right way is what they're asking you to do you know that you're going to get out position. But that's easier said than done, Maryland hydroplane football way forever. And then they change it up on you. That's kinda hard, isn't it? Well, I actually know she ain't nobody has ever in the history of football. Nobody has ever run these drills throwing your elbow to the head leading launching with the crown of your helmet, nobody practices. It you. I'm I'm doing I'm running to leave right now. It is one of the greatest professional environments. I've ever seen from tackling perspective. One of our very first games last year. I was like from a professional environ. And we never had one live scrimmage. Our first live event was a game. I'm like he was one of the most incredible professional tackling performances. I've ever seen in profess level professionals are taught how to tackle how to wrap up. Now. What happened way back is the game road elbow starter? Fine leaving launching hitting at the head. But you don't practice those aren't drills that you do. They just like we gotta clean that up. Let's go back to play in the game. Right. I mean, is it a physical is there? A physical part of this. Absolutely. That's what drives most people to it. They love that aspect. That's what I love about it. That's the challenge of the game. "So what is way Phillips wanna do? But typically in game. Okay. It's one thing to be prepared going up to the gay. But where the game is going to be one is a chess match in the game between Wade Phillips and Josh mcdaniels and Bill Bella check and so on and so forth. So that's what that's what I'm going to be looking for is the Ingraham adjustments during the Super Bowl. Josh, Dan, get an edge. I mean, when you consider the young minds coaches that are being hired right? When you consider all of that, you combine that with fact that way Phillips old school, you know, been around longtime, or what have you might be beyond this pry, but still knows obviously he's gotten more football than most of us know of. But the Rams defense wasn't really anything that brag about excessively before these playoffs began. So I'm wondering who you give an edge to. From the coordinator spot. It seems like it could very well come down to wait Phillips against document Dame's. Listen, absolutely. I want to give you know. I'm going to give you another matchup that I'm looking forward to the patriots office wine, which no one seems to talk about and they just they just been fabulous fabulous all year in particular in the playoff going up against that Rams front because you got Aaron Donald and then dumber consumer and Steve name. What do we always say about Tom Brady and in any quarterback, basically king? You get pressure up the middle. Those guys do not do not like pressure the middle. So that battle between the patriots off Zion. Particularly the inter you're part of the office line going up against Aaron Donald shoes. Shoe? That's to me. I think that's where the game is gonna be one a loss. Then would appreciate your, bro. Looking forward to talking to you in the days leading up Super Bowl, fifty three. Thanks a lot buddy. "I think it's going to be a different ball game on I take I pointed out one plan particular, Sheldon rank defensive tackle for the New Orleans Saints. That's gonna be a huge loss a huge loss for the New Orleans Saints on defense is in particular up the middle. We saw with the Rams into the Cowboys. Cowboys had one of the best defense in the league. And they just bullied them all over the field. And I think coming in this game randomly looking to do the same thing. Run. The run the football with Todd Gurley and CJ and C J Anderson down this newest things throat, it's going to be that physical type of attack that you're going to see some Rams, and obviously they're gonna they're gonna play accident and and have Jerry golf make plays down the field. But it's gonna be that Russia that that thing is going to give New Orleans Saints problem. I'm not gonna ask you wanna between Kansas City in New England. 'cause we all know you're gonna pick New England. That's just what you do. Okay. That's as a former two-time champion with the patriots. But what are you trying to call me a home? Something something like that. What about what about the saints Durant who you're gonna win? I'm going with the Rams going with the Rams upset on the road. I got I got the Rams on the road. Real quick. You also played with the New York Jets. Adam gates press conference in New York today going on right now. How do you feel about him as the new head coach of the New York Jets to form a government will listen, you got a lot of you know, bigtime background and offense. He's worked with a lot of different quarterbacks different style of quarterbacks. You know, may you know, made them successful, which is good. My only moment issue is you know, we've seen this. We seen the script before we see Rex get Fargo hard again. Then work we see Eric Mangini get fired hard right right off the bat didn't work. So what's to say that this is gonna work? We'll see, but they got a lot of work to do in Florida. Parts of Bill that roster backup. Appreciate your big. Boy. Thanks a lot, man. I'll talk to you soon. Yeah. No problem at all, right? "They know that people like myself poke holes in their team and say that the secondary's suspect regards they're playing better. Right now than they have you know in the first quarter season. They know that I'm saying that they don't have a real strong consistent running game. They do it by committee. They know that I say that even at linebacker. Then don't have the star power. Some other teams have but still they play great team complimentary football. So I always give them a shot. The problem is you're coming into the home of a same team. That is well rested a fan base that is anxious to get out there and party like no other fan base. Ken terms of how they celebrate a football game. You're talking about one of the greatest quarterback of all time. And drew Brees one of the great play calls of all time. And so I'm painting two of the best running backs in the NFL. They complemented each other perfectly one of the best offense of lines in the league period in the saints office of line and a deep bench in the saints. That's been basically carrying this football team for the better part of the month as the offense stars smuggle real quick answer. From you. What are your expectations of passionate Mahomes in this game? This is his first year quarterback in this team. What do you expect from him his first playoff game? To play like, he's always play. He's never let that team down as far as being able or producing spectacular plays and giving them a chance to win. I spec. No different from that north regret here with Steven ESPN radio. ESPN news last question for you. Or actually second the last question. Your thoughts about the Tonio Brown situation in Pittsburgh. I know you want to go with what's going on. You're sure. Yeah. I mean, it's just one of those where obviously ownership is a clear message as to where they stand as far as how they feel. He's conducted himself and what they feel is best football team going forward. When ownership comes out and talks, you know, it's pretty much a done deal. They Pittsburgh Steelers ownership is not an ownership group on ship family that would put their foot in their mouth and kind of you know, reverse course, and say, you know, what we changed our mind, they see very deliberate, very precise. In terms of their thinking is when they go public and start talking about something for them to say what they've said as far as not gonna just not being willing to just cut him. But they don't see any scenario where you'd be back on the football team. I think the writing on the wall someone we had a great player Antonio Brown, though. No question about last question. The U Louis Riddick. You obviously doing outstanding job for us. We're proud to have you here, by the way, great job all year long on Monday night football as well shaded. But you're also somebody who so cerebral, and so thorough in your thinking that some would argue you should have been a general manager for the New York Giants. Instead of Gettleman you've lost. "What changes specifically can you break down for us that has been than that has been manufactured by the Pittsburgh Steelers because the defense that existed for the Pittsburgh Steelers in early part of the season. Clearly, there has been a change. Clearly, it changes taking place. They look a hell of a lot better than they did early in the season. What specifically as Mike Tomlin and those boys? What have they done the change things around here? Quality number one. We see you know, when the Cowboys took on the saints that night that you get some bad for front. It affect the backyard. Pad defense is a combination of pass rushing past covered early in the season. The people still weren't getting a lot of pass rush. And you you had already birds and some of those guys on the backhand, getting cooking expose. I think now that why do pre in the guys are starting to get a little bit more pass rush. I. Those guys feel more comfortable and confident on the back end that they could actually a little bit more aggressive. And so now, you're starting to see some proof of that labor. I I don't think there's there's no great schematic oil change, you can make beside from playing different coverages at the end of the day, you gotta lineup cover people. And I think that the past Russia has gotten better the corners burns, and those guys ability to be a little bit more aggressive there and on top of that you can play the different coverages every now, and then, you know, people safety in the whole of play to man, they give guys little more freedom and confidence. But overall the guys are just about looking. It's all right here with Steven ESPN radio. ESPN news having said all of that. When we look at this picture in the AFC, we've got the Baltimore Ravens just to have game behind at eight and six we've got to Indianapolis Colts at eight and six right now, particularly considering the fact that Miami got shellacked shellacked by the Minnesota Vikings yesterday. I think there's a two-horse race or three horse. As because Tennessee is included in that mix for that last wildcard spot because we know that either San Diego Kansas City is going to have the fifth seed locked up with eleven and three records when you look at this right now who's the team that we should look out for that. We should watch out for most indie, Tennessee. Oh baltimore. I would say Indianapolis because they can beat you in in a variety of ways. I think if you look at Tennessee, Tennessee limited because the quarterback is limited Marcus mariota. I think Baltimore is limited even with that defense is phenomenal. Because the quarterback is limited. He can beat you really with his legs and be take away. As I read as a passer. I don't think he can beat you. And he's not even close. But if you look at the coast, Stephen they man, Andrew, look, he is a guy that got you and beat you buy sell all have mall, amac carrying football..

"If you're you know, you had a bowl game or in the playoffs or whatever the case may be before a regular season game. How do you feel about playing at Yankee Stadium in New York City as opposed to at Serra accuse or at Notre Dame? You know, I really wanted to play at Notre Dame. I really wanted seniors to have an opportunity to play at Notre Dame. Place. I haven't played their coach there, and it's a special place, and it's really cool to be old with grandkids. And being able to say that stadium comes on TV and say, hey, I played in that stadium. I'm really disappointed debate never had an opportunity to play them. Now beside of that added an opportunity to play a Yankee Stadium, you know, stadium going to be on TV for the rest of your life. So this is a story that had been written yet. It could have a happy ending that they could be telling for a lifetime. Do you know baby's head coach of Syracuse right here with Steven ESPN radio? ESPN news just a couple of more questions. So I'll let you go coach. Let's talk about you for a second because obviously third season at Syracuse doing a hell of a job this year. I'm so proud of the job that you're doing. And it was it was an aunt an a privilege to meet you and talk to your football players. But I've got to ask you about. How are you feeling about yourself and your program right now in the direction it's heading in? I imagine it's very good. Because obviously, even though you took over programming you have to build it. And it takes time. Anytime you're not winning. You're going to feel some kind of precious some kind of heat. I wanna know what things were like for you walking into the season. And how you feeling about it. Now where you know, we we had to be win over Virginia Tech and teen we had to win over Clemson at seventeen but we were occasionally great. We weren't consistently. Good. And I can see how people would say improved anything you haven't done anything yet. But my feeling you can I mean, you can check the record books you go back and check the tapes the day after we launched the Boston College I walked in. Or maybe the day of the day. We talked about in college. I went to the press conference and told everybody that this team was going to be special. Now, I had faith belief without evidence. I'd have any evidence of that. Because this season I hadn't game yet. Right. I knew what I had in that locker room. And I knew how those young men felt and I felt like we had more than a chance to do something special, and this is a closed group. This is a cloak close unit. And we divided everybody and play them individually and twenty two individuals. They probably would kick our tail, but the really cool Tate cool thing is we don't have to do that. We can deploy him as a team at a family with our names on the back of jerseys. And because of that cohesiveness we're gonna have a chance. What are you going to do against Notre Dame tomorrow after no, sir? I'll tell you what we're gonna play football game. We know they're going to be physical. We're gonna try to match that physicality and we're going to try to keep a close in the fourth quarter. And they're going to have the luck of the Irish. And hopefully, we'll have some luck of our own and see who gets lucky laugh coach detail into my show yesterday. "He gets on my damn nerves practically every weekday border doing what he does on get up. But I love my brother. We always go back and forth, talk some basketball, but we're not the baiting here today. I'm interviewing so I'm asking questions, and I actually have to listen to his answer without giving any pushbacks. I'm talking about my brother Jalen, rose, one of the stars on get up. You can catch that show every week. They wanted from eight to ten AM eastern standard time over the national television Airways ESPN news. Jalen rose. What's going on, man? How are you? Oh, it is a pleasure. Thanks for having me on. Let's get right to it. Man. I went off the air. And then over the weekend we learned that Jimmy Butler is leaving the Minnesota Timberwolves. He is now going to be a member of the Philadelphia. Seventy Sixers your reaction when you heard the trade. What do you think it does for the Sixers and Jimmy? My initial reaction was this great for the game. And now the power has officially shifted from the Western Conference other than the Golden State Warriors to the east because I believe four or five of the top overall squats besides Golden State now reside in the east when you talk about the author Celtics Toronto Raptors, Milwaukee Bucks are now in that conversation, and obviously Philadelphia seventy Sixers and the other thing that came to mind if I could make an argument that the Sixers now have three of the top six overall players in the Eastern Conference, the other three to come to mind or coli Greek freak and Kyrie Irving. And so for you to have that much star power is going to be great to see how they continue to add to the roster, which aren't they they're going to need to do they go to win the Eastern Conference championship. But it was a great move out of six. Years. But it also having scratching my head to what Minnesota was trying to get accomplished. Why does he why do you scratch your head as it pertains to what Minnesota's trying to get accomplished? I only ask that question. Jalen because this Robert Covington kin defend not to mention the fact he led the NBA last season and catch and shoot three pointers with one hundred and eighty nine Dario, Saric is no scrub, and so will you consider that a long will call Anthony towns Wiggins the way Derrick rose has been playing one would surmise that they need to do that dad. What do you say to that? Well, if you're looking at it for Minnesota perspective, look at it like this. When you give up in all star, you probably should get one return. And I agree with what you said about those who players, but either one of them will be that in Minnesota. And also you hope to get a first round pick, which did not happen. They took the route of a team that isn't normally used to getting price reagents. So therefore, you're gonna make sure you trade for guys who are already locked into contract. Like Covington already is for sorry to still dealing with a rookie contract. Minnesota however will be better, and I know you paying attention. But for those who haven't they haven't been really good. Whether Butler was in or out of the lineup consistently this year so basketball while building out their team, they're going to look a lot better. But overall, I would love to see one of those things happen when you move a player like their Jalen rose. How good do you think? Jimmy Butler is. NBA caliber not superstar level player. Not franchise changing player. He's not like what we're seeing with a typical poll with the books that if you have him. Now, you have a chance to be one of the top teams in the however if he's your. Make no mistake about Derek. Laura's. Let me ask you this question. Look at what you just brought up. Remember the infamous punch to Rudy. You really time time washed, okay. How should that be viewed in light of what you just explained about the history of basketball? How things will understood back then compared to what they would be? Well, I think, look, I mean, I think there's a pot of every man that says, oh, I, I like to see that fight. But when you see a fight up close, it's horrible. They don't wanna see anyone get, and it wasn't really a fight. John just running into stop them from fighting and Kermit didn't know that coming up on the react to it was just terrible and Vasa good rule change. You know, player should not be able to either. I, Greg, is this size. I mean, my God, I I, I looked at that that we did a scene on the Malay in Detroit, right? Yes. And when and when Jermaine O'Neal six, eleven to forty. And it would have, and some some guy runs out in the stands in the film. They say he looks like turtle an entourage, right? And he comes by to sucker punch Germaine O'Neil and Germaine only catches him from the bottom of his eye and thank God. He didn't nail him completely went, oh, he could have killed a guy this this. You can't do it anymore hit. You know, it's like, I, I totally agree with you that no room for violence at all. No, excuse foot. But I will say this. I do think that the rule is not stepping off the bitch. Like, for example, is problematic. Look at what happened with the Nixon, the Miami Heat. You got Gaza step their foot off the on the lawn and still was what happened. What I'm saying it saying it's oneal Phoenix would win that game, and the series would receive NASA, Robert Oreo these guys, you know, like absolutely look, look seeing the same thing in football. I'm not a football guy, but these rules sometime not right. I mean, you know, I was intrigued by the rule when they said you could play his own defense in the NBA, but no-one hardly anyone doesn't anymore at all right, but, but I loved when Popovich destroyed Miami. And. And did you see at times for forty? Five, second periods? He went to a one, three one half court. That's right. You know, just to change the pace just a mess with their heads. Right? I mean, it was really, that's kind of brilliant man. No question about it and use it. It was vital in that all vital because he was the one person that could defend LeBron James decently that. And because of that, you pluck it with a ninety, seven mile per hour. Fastball. Now you've got some people who try to lie, and they'll say, oh, that wasn't you Rina's intent. Because after all it was a major league baseball high, fourteen hit, you know, hitters that he hit last year, did she as lead the majors? Again, having plucked eleven thus for after hidden Acuna last night. But here's the reality of the situation. He was egging him on like he didn't give a damn. So one would surmise your did it intentionally and why did you do that? Because he did his job hitting home runs or getting on base. You don't strike them out. This is the problem of baseball. You get stuck in traffic. You show up to a baseball stadium after braving traffic with thirty or forty or fifty thousand people. You pay Tripoli amount of prices for soda and popcorn and hotdogs, then you would normally pay pay anywhere else because you're trying to enjoy the game and. Ambiance that comes with it. You're looking forward to competition and you hear about this star, that's twenty years old and smacking the ball out of the park all over the place. And for no other reason, other than he's doing that. You have to hit him. This is baseball. You wanna know why baseball suffering. This ain't the only reason, but this is definitely part of it. The game ain't fast enough and some of these traditional stuff. This younger generation of folks, eight buying any longer. You pay to see people compete. If you're gonna complain about super teams in basketball. Superstar athletes joining up with one another. How bad do you think it annoys people.
