Wherever you get your podcast if you think you have a bad right now in quarantine imagine that you're in a circus first of all imaginary circus by the way just by itself. That's crazy but the circus. They were travelling at thirty five cities and they do these where they pull up to big parking lots or fields and they were in the middle of their tour and now they're quarantined in a parking lot because they can't go anywhere it's forty two circus. But they've courtesy gofundme page to try to offset some of their expenses because a lot of them why they can't go home if you're like why don't they just go home. Some of them are from South America. Because they're like aerialist that have trained to be in a circus and they can't just drive down to Georgia you know or allow yeah. I didn't think about that. And they can't fly anywhere really and it's not like in the circus. You're making a ton of dough you probably are. This tour is by the end of it. You've made all your money but anyway I saw that and thought that kind of stunk. I'll give you a lighter headline in my juvenile headline of the day. A man is arrested for mooning several customers at a wal-mart and then recording the reactions guy in New Jersey was arrested on Thursday for mooning people he's been charged with leading INNIS. So He's twenty seven years old. He went to a Walmart Moon. People all around the store and got the reactions. Someone called the cops. They arrested him. If you missed this morning to we talked about the peer Pants Challenge on talk which you just hold the phone up and you get in the mirror and you let it rip into your pants literally. That's it there's nothing else coming after. That Senate You just pee your pants and you can search for that on tick tock if you want but if you do impose yeah if you do. That's weird amy. What was your question? I was just curious when you think you're going to fly again. I would fly right now if I had somewhere to go. I have nowhere to go not work but I think airplanes now probably cleaner than they've ever been because of everything that's been happening. Yeah so that's what South West Air said. They sent out an email promise to me to let me know that. They're using anti microbial spray. They're going to be cleaning between each flight. They're limiting passengers. And you know even when you line up to board a flight they said there's GonNa be a process a special one for personal space. So yeah I mean I guess it's going to be fine. My husband's friends a pilot for the airlines and said he's still flying right now and said that yeah. They are disinfecting. Those planes like crazy. You just wish they'd been doing the whole time you know when they're like we're going to clean these planes between every flight and you're like wait aren't doing that already. I mean they were but now they're really doing it. Just picking up crap out of the little back seat thing mostly so it looked like it was clean more than anything else. Yeah I mean people just used to not care how I get on a plane and immediately turned the air vent off because I heard it. The air vents are so Germany even if I was sweating and hot I refuse to asserted on and then you and I we always wiping down Steph and people would look at us like we were crazy down person next to us to. We'd sit down and we wipe their face in their hands because we don't know where they've been exactly now. That's that's just normal everyday life. I would fly now if I needed to. I think there's there I was watching a story about how they're cleaning the subways in New York and they're like every night we now go and clean. The subways mean. You'd never you weren't doing that already but I guess it's expensive but it's I'm a clean freak always have been about germs but but think about how even at the airport or I mean. We don't live anywhere there subways but if I travel you have to take like the tram maybe to the next terminal or something I get online and just grab that pole thing. I was going hands. I've been going hands with a strong base for getting balanced spread my legs a home base and it'd be like because mostly it's the airport like Atlanta airport. Yeah and they're going. You're taking that little train to the reports of the airport. Grab anything and I would just spread my legs and be like all right got. This was weird bobby bones. Show Carol Baskin from tiger. King responded after she was prank interviewed. We talked about this yesterday. Some kids on Youtube during the thinking she was one on Jimmy Fallon Carol Baskin and never done an interview and she was a good sport about it and they also really didn't mess what they played a bunch of old clips of Jimmy Fallon but she said quote. I was suspicious. We were doing it and the questions appeared taped but I had no idea what turn out to be such a fun prank. It gave us a very welcome. Good laugh nights her. "Cool. I liked it too. That you geek out about the bubble because I geek out about all the time when I'm like holy cow. I'm looking at some of your numbers here and I want to get to what the song is going to do. In a second. But you're five grammies fifty nine Dove Awards Your Gospel. Music's most awarded artist. One American Music Award you sold over ten million albums Jeff. Forty nine number one songs. Do you have any house for just your award? Steven Curtis is that the one next door he's walkover in knock and go in and look. Yeah yeah years ago. Gary Chapman who always gave me a hard. You know. We're not related but Same last name He. He said that I should melt. All my words down until like one big one and put it in a fountain in my yard so now I I just have a studio where they're kind of Tucked away up on a nice shelf out of out of sight out of mind. But there there. 'cause I'm grateful for all of them obviously. I'm blown away. Kids from Paducah Kentucky. You know how does that happen but Just God's goodness I gotta so cool This song by the way together. We'll get through this not an official single but it is raising funds for Kobe. Causes including the Grand Ole OPRY Trust Fund. Which I'm very involved with Grand Ole opry and it's such a such a good organization. How did you get involved With with this song going towards that well I mean all of us obviously in music business have been deeply affected by this all of us all over the world which is part of why. I wrote the song because we are in fact in this together. I don't think I know I've never experienced anything in my lifetime. That has leveled more the playing field or the ground where all common grounds you know no matter where what you do where you are but some have been obviously a more impacted even than others And because no concerts no you know opportunities just for all the layers of that you know. From musicians to crew guys two buses to concert goers in venues and guys that sell the merchandise impacted by so people and so I wrote this song thinking of obviously i. I want to try to bring people together. I want to encourage what I see as a little ray of light. That's been shining through this very dark time. And that's that that idea that we really do need each other that we are made for relationship to be together to to work together in these things something we desperately need in our world. Now I think more than ever and in our nation and so I was inspired by that and and Wanted to write a song to kind of kick the door open for that crack of light to get a little bit brighter and So with that I thought man. It'd be great if there are proceeds. You know anymore with music and the way it works you know but as there are God willing some proceeds. I'd love to be able to help artists and and people impacted particularly in the music business both through OPRY Trust Fund which. I played on the you the first time when I was nineteen years old so it's been full circle for me to come back and get to play the opry a lot more recently in fact. Hopefully we'll cross paths here at some point I'll meet you face to face but And then also for the Gospel Music Association has a fund as well for many of the artists that gave us Great Gospel Music over the years and now are struggling to just keep food on the table and and you know the people that associate with them and work with them so just to try to help some people that obviously are kind of in my field and in my My area of of music. That's so cool by the way Steven Curtis Chapman is on with us right now. It's very good to talk to someone van of and you have been. It's always cool as to when you get to meet someone and I know we're just meeting virtually here but you get to meet someone who you're a fan of as a kid because it's always that much cooler. Did you ever have that where you are? A fan of. Somebody is a kid and you got to meet him when you got older. And you're like man. This is really cool. Oh yeah well. I mentioned Glen Campbell a minute ago. I had as a kid I grew up. Glen's music was probably some of my favorite a lot because my dad and my now eighty year old. Dad is a great guitar player. Great Singer and sounds a lot when he was younger at Glens. Hd sounded a lot. Like him I could play your records and my dad. You hear it but so I was a huge fan and I'll never forget I was doing a double words. Which is you know. Gospel Music's annual big kind of award deal and I was It was being hosted that year by Glen Campbell and Marilyn mccoo you remember. Some of you will remember her name and and I had this knock at my door and And it was open the door and it was Glen Campbell and he was standing there saying. Hey I wanna meet Steven Curtis Chapman. 'cause I like his music and I was just like you know by blowing so yeah. There have been a lot of those opportunities. I was hanging out one real quick other one because I just thought this is so fun to tell the story. I was standing on a street corner my first Grammy Awards with my wife and New York. This is when it was at radio. City Music Hall Ricky skaggs and his bride Sharon White were standing there and I'm like British gags him a big Fan. Polygamy your Steven Steven Gershon. I love what you're doing to brother. I'm like no way said let's go have lunch. Let's go get you know a Deli saying so we're walking into to a deli and we walked past a window and he starts making faces inside the window in New York City at some guy sitting at a table and it's Michael McDonald from the dude. So he's like. I like you know Mike McDonald and they said Yeah you WanNa meet him so staggering takes me in to meet Michael McDonald so I mean just crazy. 'cause awesome hoping and just a double double down on. Ricky and I've become good friends since I've started playing the opera at the opera. And he is the greatest guy. Ricky skaggs the greatest guy and he. Yeah well let me ask you one final question here. Because I was looking through and I wanted to really see which of your albums resonated the most with me. 'cause you can kind of associate an album to a part of your life. But what I noticed was a lot of different hairstyles. That I really didn't keep track of that. They were so. What are those question down. Was that of all the hairstyles on all the albums. Which one do you regret the most? Oh Lord have mercy The mullet was was really cool for about fifteen minutes in the late eighties. Thank you bill rate but I perfected it. I like to think I mean. Billy Ray did but I kind of took it to a whole `nother level with the curl and everything so if you ever look at the real life conversations album that was the one and 'cause that's probably the one that I'm most like why why didn't somebody that loves me. Aside and go dude. You'RE GONNA really regret this someday. But no no they were all just lapping behind my back. I think what a what a great guest you were today. Not that I wasn't expecting it but you just never know everybody's Stephen Carter. Shamans a great guest for the radio show. We got to come back in. Okay here's the deal. Everybody listening right now just for the on on a serious note. The song called together. We'll get through this with Steven. Curtis Chapman Brad Paisley Lauren Elena and Tasha cobbs Leonard. And I'm a big fan of all the music. No if you stream this song that it will raise funds for Cova causes including the Grand Ole opry trust fund. He has prompted Dukic. Kentucky is debt. Your Dad had a music store you go. I mean you grew up in it and you did a lot of good with them I France. Well thank you very much for your life contribution to to me and music and I hope to see in real life. Brinson me as well. Bobby truly an honor man. Thank you so much and Appreciate the shoutout for the song and What you do stay safe all right man all right article about what we know now since everything is going to give him to us for example do you know your spouse's cell number. Amy Yes you do. Yeah Wow I don't know Kaelin number area code phone number anything. Well I mean to be fair. You can cave dating a handful of months and I've been married for fourteen years almost so yeah I phone numbers also change but he had it since we got married so I don't even look I'm just like okay. Numbers in never looked at it again. Okay well good for you say della number. Do you know the name of the roads you take to work. Oh No I don't even know that highway that I get on the Mandolin like the major state. That's intercity well. There's a couple I don't even know. I don't know my husband He. He'll say things to me like he'll use the highway he'll say just sixty five or get on four forty in on that highway every day. I could probably do the roads if I had to. But I definitely don't know anyone cell phone number. I don't know your cell phone number. We'd been together thirteen years rude. Do.

"Thank you man. It's an honor to talk to you as well. But congratulations on all your success. My family and big fans of your part of American idol as late. We love watching you to that show so great to meet you. Thank you well one of my friends because I was geeking out that you're coming on and I said Hey Tyler Steven Curtis Chapman's coming on and he said to ask you this. You kind of answered a little bit. But he said. Ask them if there was another Stephen Chapman. And if that's why he threw curtis in there. Obviously it was the right decision. Steven Curtis Chapman sounds better but always go by that. No I did not like every other kid. My middle name in fact. I think it's the reason we have middle names is. That's the way you know that you're getting your mom's getting ready to take you out of this world. The one that brought you so you know whenever I heard Steven Curtis Chapman in trouble so I was only. I was Steve Chapman. And then like you said. There's a Steve. Annie Chapman in fact their son Nathan Chapman went on to produce Taylor Swift's records a great songwriter and producer. But they're his dad. Was Steve Chapman and they made music and when I was growing up in fact not had their albums because I thought it was so cool in another Steve Chapman Made it was Gospel Music Christian music and so when I started writing people were getting confused when I first came to Nashville and they kept saying. Are you the son of that seat? Chapman? Or what's the deal? So the Steven Curtis Chapman thing was just a way to differentiate us Unfortunately I didn't think it through because Having had to sign. Autographs Thousand Times. Now I wish I had to go with something like toby or Carmen. But it's worked out Dan Carmen. You bring it back right now I harmon to holy cow on my head is exploding through all the memories of going to vacation Bible School and going to church camp. It was like that was like Steven. Curtis Chapman central going to church camp. We would go up to. I won't start okay. That's a whole conversation. You have to come in the studio one day. We do have things to talk about today. That would be amazing and I WANNA talk about. I A song. It's called together. We'll get through this and before I ask you something deep about it. I have kind of a personal question because it has Brad Paisley Lauren. Elena and you'll have to tell me about Tasha cobbs Leonard but my question is who did you call i. Well I called Brad Paisley I I'd written the song and I wanted to. I thought sounded like together. Needs some other people together Kinda make sense and And I thought a Brad Brad. I had shared a dressing room together at a Glen Campbell. Tribute Concert. Both of us fans and he was kind of our guitar playing singing idol growing up. And so we were both at this tribute concert for Glenn and we sort of bonded over our mutual love for for Glenn and his music and as you do when you're done it's like hey we should get together sometime and do music and of course. I'm thinking that's Brad Paisley and he's hosting you know seeing as and television commercials with Peyton Manning. What's he got time for doing something with me but I wrote this song and I thought of him to something and he could crush some guitar and a and a vocal on this so I had a mutual friend got his number. 'cause I didn't have I got an email so email and didn't hear anything for three days and I was like yeah. He's probably too busy. Who's this Chapman Guy? Bothering me so I texted him. Because my wife says you got his number texting. And the no because that's like next level bugging somebody but I finally did and I as soon as I said it. I got the little bubbles at the bottom. You know like he's answering. I'm Brad Paisley about and he's like did you not get my email. I'm totally in. Let's do this thing you know and So I did a little happy dance in the kitchen there with my wife and said he's GonNa Sing my song. So yeah. So that's how that started. Man That is that is really.

I think that is kind of the beauty of a tragedy if there is something to find the silver lining in as you see a lot of people come together. This is just one of those stories so I wanted to share that with you guys because that is what it's all about. That was telling me something good. My Name is Shapiro. Wealth this is the story of my son Courtney. Nobody was colon. Two Thousand Fifteen is the biggest here of my life a ladies man even with his grandmother. I'm chance the rapper. According to Copeland was a good friend of mine in twenty sixteen he wound up with a bullet in his back outside of Chicago. Police Station robber boy granted. Federal said he was shot. And it's the story of my search for the truth. This is somebody a CO production of them visible institute inner South and Topic Studios in association with Tender Foot. Tv available. Now this is somebody's Chai. Somebody deserves to know what happened. I deserve to know what happened to my son. And listen to somebody on the iheartradio APP apple podcasts. Or wherever you get your podcasts. So have a downed power line of my yard. I'm assuming they turn it off but evidence power line we want. We can send Mike there to touch it. I mean he's sitting right here. I get them on the cellphone going to my D- Now lost him. There were there. Were massive storms all over town for two nights. It's still there. They're apparently they're working with so many down lines everywhere so my neighborhood because so many trees were down. Power lines were downed. Basically everyone was out there front yards kind of looking at the damage and Kayla was out my girlfriend. The neighbor was out in their front yard. And I don't really know my neighbors and like my personality is on this show and on the Air Avalon to say and I share everything about me very public but once I get off the era. I'm quite private. You know it's A. It's a weird juxtaposition. I'd say Kaelin on the other hand is the opposite. Whenever she is at home she's very extroverted. She will talk to anyone. Make friends with everybody but she's not big into being public she's not you know she'll come on the show of ask her too but she doesn't love it so she talks to everybody's talking to our neighbors kind of talking back and forth. Apparently there's a that they've now started a neighborhood group text which I want to know business on. But there's like nineteen or twenty people in the neighborhood that all like text and it's very nice. It's very they're like. Hey who needs? What like what is your power out is your and so. I've been getting all the gossip on the on the text in the neighborhood. So you're on it. I'm not on it. She's on it. Oh she's on a second. I don't picture you joining so she joined in so she's just making it in. She's getting them with all the neighbors. That's a that's a big step. Well she's getting in and getting all the information like whose powers out. 'cause we needed have jetty was bragging about his generator generators. I have a small generator now. And it's broken and so she hit one of the neighbors like. Hey who? Who's your generator guy? And so we have a generator guy coming over today to work on the generator and just in case. But that's that's been the latest developments. She's now on the Neighborhood Group. Text key and she was show me pictures of it. They're like food cooking. Like you got real personal real quick. I sent a couple of nudes. News pushed send on this one. So that's happened in here at this house. The big interesting story though we about our podcast yesterday because we do the show and then we keep going with the post show and amy talked about somebody just coming in offer or cash for a house and she was like what they offered you money by the way. I'm not going to say the numbers. Obviously but it was so much more than the house is worth that you had to consider it. We've talked about it on the show. We tell the show what you decided well. We signed the papers and accepted the offer. There's continuous the same thing I do. Yeah Yeah so. This is just not where we thought our week was going to go at all. I mean it's we're I still don't really have the words and I kept even after we signed the documents. We were on the phone with our realtor while we were doing it. And I'm like are you sure you read through this. This is just this. Can't be real are you sure so sh- we electronically signed our names away and everything and they all also. I must say this. They've never seen our house. They have seen pictures but they have never been inside physically. So that's weird. Who Come into your house and offering away money that it's worth I don't know but I am just going with it. It's really weird in. I don't know where we're going to move. But if if everything goes through after the inspection like I said there's even in the papers we sign their certain contingencies so it may not work out but I mean at the rate we're going it would and the closing date would be may twenty fifth which is like not that far away and we have nowhere to go so we can rent the house back in pay by the day until we find a place and they said they'll they're flexible with that until the month of August. Who is they got to know who these people know? If it's I don't know if it's a day or here she is it the Navarro drug cartel or something like that. I don't know but I guess they really. There's not I will say and that's how it even came about. We were going to have our house on the market last fall when we were. GonNa move for our kids school but then we found the schools are like Yay. We're not moving. This is awesome. But at the time our realtor had come and she knew everything about our house and had taken pictures and all that and she had a client come to their office and they're just looking for something in our neighborhood and there is not inventory for what they're looking for and so that's when she said. Oh well I have this one family. I can call him and see if they're willing to sell. And that's when we got the phone call and they went straight overprice. Which is crazy well congratulations. I guess. Quickly what's contingency were? If it doesn't match how do you think I read all the paperwork? Oh you don't know you get a weekend with amy crazy signed. Didn't even know. Yeah Yeah No. It's I think with Steph at the inspection. I don't really know always enough to hide a ton of money. Yes we know what's happening here. Okay I don't know guys it's crazy though. Good luck let us know how that goes in the next few days. That's it's I get able to say that you took the house though. Oh well I mean my husband and I had some serious thinking deal and then after just going over with our realtor we would almost be silly not to so but the thing is we have to find somewhere to go so if anybody knows anything oh great hold on I already have a realtor. That's right they will. They'll come out you all right on with us right now. A Guy who? I'll listen to all my life growing up going to Many youth group events. All the time. It's just cool to talk to you here. We are Steven. Curtis Chapman how? I don't know what to call you. I call you Steven Steven. Curtis what I call you. You met bobby bones. Whatever works for you. Brother just sat stephen S. C. squared. Hey you you know whatever Steven Steven Curtis I refer to myself. Steven Curtis just because it took me a while to get used to that name. 'cause that was. Steve Chapman forever until there was another Steve Chapman Long Story. I ended up having to come up with a different name to record my first album. So keeping Curtis but really you. You knew my music in grew up saddling up your horses and whatnot. Are you kidding me and listen Steven Curtis I went to awesome hobby bones? Grew up knowing. I'm just just really making day. I went to Malibu Baptist right. We population seven hundred. I went every Wednesday nights Sunday morning Sunday night every Saturday night. We'd have a youth group dinner if you don't think we were on some Steven Curtis Chapman crazy right now. Cinderella anyway too much of it is. It is a real.

"Good morning everybody. Good Morning Amy. How are you good how are you? I'm real good. I was watching the news this morning. I wake up and I flip over my computer and I turn on the TV. And I flip the channels and flip honesty if anything kinda grabs me and the story. The grabbed me today was they. Were talking about Dr in concerts. Is that that might be a thing where you put the people that are in your close little quarantine circle and you get in the car and you drive to a stage much like a movie theater and they do a concert there with the in their cars and at first. I was like well. That seems ridiculous but it really doesn't seem ridiculous does to you I I. It seems I don't know if I would enjoy because nine thing I've ever done but it could be cool. So does this sound. Come through your speakers and you're the Saturday is so loud from the stage down. I didn't know because I think with drive ins. Don't you tune your your radio to some station and then you hear the movie through your car speakers to know that I remember what you would take them as a young kid you would take the speaker from the like the like sonic has a drive up thing it's not signing but you pull the speaker from that but differ because those movie screens don't have the capability to put out sound that loud. We're concerts they do and yeah. I agree but think about that because I think that will be pretty interesting to do. It's other no concerts or that for a while man depending on where you're parked telling to take you to get out you. WanNa leave early king. That's true I think I felt like you did though when they first said it. I was like there's no way but then I started to think man that would be. I mean it's either no concerts or parking there Here's a story. There is a newly constructed venue just outside of Los Angeles with six days notice. The event sold five hundred tickets and went off without a hitch. Quote play mini concerts in my life. But this is the first though an audio feed broadcast also over FM frequency into the car so it was both. Wow I think that's they're trying to have the new there because it's going to be a while before you can have big festivals and you may have people that. WanNa go but you're not going to people that want to throw them quite yet. You know that that was a story that grabbed this morning so And then grab you today anything on the tip of your mind that you're sitting on vomiting sitting here. I don't I'm looking at my nikes not a commercial but I did see a headline that they're donating like thirty thousand shoes to healthcare workers so shout out to Nike Okay Okay Okay here is Hannah from Pennsylvania. Left us a message. Hey Bobby Boucher. Amy and everybody on the show. This is actually my first year as a teacher. And then you know. Corona virus hit so. He's like almost sixty pounds and if she wants to roll around at least he's out of the house. It's not you know. Here's what I'm finding out. You really have to pick the things you care about and the ones you don't just don't care and they don't really care enough to go. Don't get a stroller for the dog. You know what? Get a stroller for the dog. Give it makes you feel good. You know that so I am going to be paying for it but she pays for all around stuff anyway. She doesn't need me for any sort of financial. Sabar could use her for some of the financial support but yeah as she. I think she'll end up getting one whenever we can get out a little more. I think she'll end up getting one you for your questions. If you have a question or you wanna come comment eight seven seven. Seventy seven bobby. There's a new challenge that tick tock users are doing. It's Hashtag pee. Your pants challenge or they just I know I know they just get the phone. Put a mirror and they record themselves peeing their pants. Okay I do not want any part of this challenge. Have you done weird? I don't understand that is so weird but we're laughing about it. That's the thing when I said it out loud and you get this weird little smile on your face. It is so dumb but at least they're not hurting themselves or anybody. I can't take enough for the pee pants challenge. I didn't come into the segment and was going. Stick out for it. I'm just GONNA talking about dumb. It was but yeah Hashtag. Peer Challenge although I participate in that challenge without even really knowing that I can't ever make it to the vacuum anymore. There have been other challenges. That are worse like the tide pods. Challenge remember that. Yeah when they were. The cinnamon challenge is always tough. Because isn't it you. Swallow a whole spoonful of sentiment. That's right yeah this impossible. There was the hot pepper challenge. What the Kylie Lip Kit Challenge when you had put like a bottle or something over your lips and have it like suck plump up your lists. Yeah Amy did you see the story? I think one of the New York Post or times. I don't know the difference. They talked about the girl who had the biggest lips. Her name's like Barbie Lips and that she's looking for the world record for biggest lips. It looks like she got stung by a bunch of bees all over her mouth but she continues to pumper Collagen. Oh Wow unbelievable. It looks like there's some sort of illness happening there. But she's into it real life. Barbie shows off great lips after twentieth filter injection. I'm tell you lists aren't great. What doctor is great question? Okay with that obviously there. They have no limits. Well I just googled it. Oh my goodness right. Doesn't it look like something's wrong? I she had a medical issue. Why why is she doing that? See the more we get ridiculous with people the more we appreciate the peer Pants Challenge. Nobody gets hurt right. I think I'M GONNA DO. I'm GONNA during the next break. I'm so into it now. We're going to play Blake and Gwen here. "The cool thing about living in Nashville is not only all the country music stars but this is the home of Christian music as well and so the iconic figures in Christian music wonderfully have become my friends over the years Steven Curtis Chapman joins us this hour okay his his Mike's not on no it's not no it's not that's Dave come in here and check it please I think we got a problem with it I don't know what happened okay so anyway all that big hell that big set up and then there we get that but check one two all right anyway actually because Chapman joins me this hour this last segment here hello hello there is my brother Harun settle well air gap thing if we play yeah that's right yeah I think we we think we had it on the radio around here before first day first anyway Stephen I've been friends for many years and you know some of the iconic people in Christian music Amy Grant Michael W. Smith Steven Curtis live in the area they're all friends with each other friends of mine here Sharon's in our our our our spouses know each other and all the country music people interactive little known fact or maybe it may be well known fact is a lot of country music folks have a a secret gospel track in their heart that they all want to do a gospel album Elvis did gospel albums with virtually every country music star eventually does a gospel album or song or two yeah I get mixed in there so when we get to do it guys get together on my back porch it's not unusual to have John rich and Steven Curtis and Mary I talk about stuff I never heard of it I'm always a child yeah get we've met that's where I've hung out with kix Brooks and we got to hang out with them some some heroes of mine Larry gallery at the hang out at your place so you give me some amazing opportunities to connect with some heroes of mine and some great music guys and and you play a very pivotal role in this in this song and you you know this but your listeners will you will need to appreciate you even more as the great connector of people that you are in can be so I'd written a song just watching honestly here's the bottom line I was hearing the word together I was hearing phrases and things that I have not coming out of my television set that I have not heard in years and months and years because seems like everything coming off of that screen is is division and and and and anything but togetherness and suddenly wouldn't be like a global pandemic to make a start talking about what's eternally true were actually made for relationship actually need each other actually not the enemy even though we feel that way and we've got different opinions different ways of doing it and thinking about it but the truth is we're all in this together and suddenly it seemed like some people were talking about that and get in that and I was hearing this word together we'll get through this together and it was something that was like this dark room this dark cloud in the little ray of light came shining through and I thought I'm gonna go kick the door open and see if I get a lot more light in you know get a little more of that good stuff and summarize song said Amazon put together we'll get through this sovereign the song I'm thinking this is a song that needs some other people from singing about together and I'd love to get some people from different genres of music I could almost imagine kind of we are the world let's get a bunch of us not just you know all of us in our same community but if I could get some folks from different places and I thought Brad Paisley because Brad not connected we've done a few things together over the years he's a great man great heart does great work his story that he and his wife Kimberly have started he wore a show hope T. shirt on the Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show one year went one night and organization my wife and I started a nonprofit to help adoptive families and children and the families and so we connected and bonded over a few things but we ended up at a Glen Campbell tribute concert when passed away four years ago and said you know Hey let's let's do something together some day well I don't know how to reach him because I'm not everyone those guys go he can I get your number sung by a year later so I didn't bother and didn't get it but I knew that you knew Brad and had had a party your gatherings occasionally and invite him to be and I don't know how to reach him so I see you he said Hey Dave I've written a song and I this is weird I don't want to do some weird but if you would let Brad no that I'd love to reach him if he's got any interest make it really easy for him to say I only get bug bite Chapman gathered is that guy anyway and so immediately and you even prep me said it might take awhile you know he didn't always respond real immediately he almost made a response Hey give them my number give me give me you know my number in my email so I emailed him I didn't hear anything for about three days almost gave up thought you know what he's busy and have time for this I got a text message that number two I texted him he immediately text back said did you not get my email some happened I didn't get it he said I me and listen to it so you and him I got a minute yes lane to join this marlin amazing country artist sweet sweet lady and Tasha Cobbs Leonard I want to discuss the choir I couldn't get a gospel choir in social distancing so I got the next best thing Tasha Cobbs Leonard areas the gospel a man in America the song is called together we'll get through this okay and it comes out today yeah right now today is the longest and we're honored that you make this part of the launch thank you brothers we are part of it very nice little I thank very neat proud of you and Brad and all of you for putting this together and some of the proceeds from the songs are going to go into the Opry trust fund to help musicians there and folks impacted buckled nineteen and also to the gospel music association find that helps artist and and musicians and songwriters in the same way because we'll be using business been devastated by this out shut down looking like a glance at what you do exactly next up so I mean you show records but because regarding online I mean you can sell music but you can't do a conference right can't do anything there so and sure you can get the song we're gonna play it right now yeah you can get the song by Steven Curtis Chapman and.

just came out with this time last year so again go to Ramsey cruise dot com right now there's a handful of cabins we want this thing to be completely I mean I don't mean just sold out we took your money I mean we want to pull we want someone in every room we want to have you there all right let's go to Sarah in Texas high Serra welcome to the Dave Ramsey show hi Dave thank you and Larry Bird can't my husband and I are in baby steps seven have been good for you well done yeah way we are enjoying it here so I retired early from a long here to pursue my dream to open a retreat house for quilting and crafting group out in the country where we live cool on our family ranch and we're going to build a three bedroom house on the property for the retreat later this year and I'm estimating it'll take about four hundred thousand dollars to build it and I'd like to do this debt free and take it out of my retirement plans and I'm a I'm a glass half full gal but my husband is the glass half empty guy and he's concerned about taking that much out of our retirement funds and he he respects your opinion so here we are okay so how gosh they have more than enough money to go to college and my husband and I would like to know what she would for a fully funded by twenty nine account for both children well you would want to figure out what your target is as far as where they're going to go to school try to calculate what it's going to cost to go to school there for a five year old thirteen years from now and so you know they're going to go to you know the rest of Ohio Ohio State University what were they going to go and and and you know try to get some estimates on what that's going to cost at that time and then you take that figure and say I've got thirteen years for the money to grow for a five year old to that level right right and you're smart Mr Perot can put that into our calculator financial calculator you can jump online with the financial calculator and say all right how much would lump sum do I need today for thirteen years from now at my investment rate in my mutual funds are for it to grow to X. so I've got X. for tuition and and although the formula will spit out of a financial calculator about thirty seconds but you know you've got to determine what your target is we know you got thirteen years you're using good mutual funds we know you're gonna make ten to twelve percent if you watch what you're doing your part partition mutual funds from afar Mr Perot when you're learning how to do investing that buying mutual funds that exceed the S. and P. and there's plenty of them that do and if you do all of that then your target is there then you're gone you know you will love funded enough in the five twenty nine for them to pay for it and that tells you the ten thousand dollars is probably for the little one is probably almost that for the five year old maybe not may need a little bit more and it and but that depends on and are you going to pay for graduate school or you want to put willing to pay for private school not read verses in state tuition for Ohio state you know and how states not one of the cheaper in state tuitions either so they're you know they're not outrageous but they're they're not they're not like the cheapest state school in America or anything so check all that out and figure out where you are and that's what I would do that's how you do it sit down your smartest pro they can work you into that number pretty quick the lady Sam's whether some New York case Sam welcome to the Dave Ramsey show hi how are you thank you for taking my call sure what's up yeah my question like this I just started the total money makeover I never read about the whole life insurance now my grandfather is a financial adviser to configure being very successful and he sold me a whole life and two terms the cover everything he just he just told me lately that I made on my mutual fund but he also he's solid may not book from him and I made a ten percent this year so I asked them why do I have a whole life which is making nothing on the vestments after I read the book and the fun that many are making a good because I want to just get rid of that and put the money into the dust on like you're working on now so you like to me that the investment the mutual funds that protects you may want to market to build high so I did make that money but when the market goes well one that time that it does I needed protection and I'm not the whole life insurance but they promise every year certain amount and I never going to go below that and they're going to give that to me every year still on the market goes down I have that protection so yeah I got stock like what do I tell him now well I mean you're gonna serving argue with grandpa or not that's part of that is you know I don't know if you're gonna do that or not I'm not gonna argue yeah I know I need my best did not sign on there's a lot of people that means best in a wrong okay and that's that's the case with them no you don't use whole life life insurance as a hedge as a back up for a market downturn if you want to keep some liquidity you'd put it in cash in a money market account and that way when you die you don't lose the money the money that's tied up in the whole life cash value when you die you lose it you've paid extra to have that in there and you don't get it you only get the face value when you die shall now it is not a good back strop backstop he he is very old school he comes out of the insurance business is the background it comes out of and that's the only people that believe that stuff anymore found dude you gotta do what you want to do I'm not gonna say argue the ramp all but he's wrong that's something that puts a sour the Dave Ramsey show in the books our thanks to James child or British or killed and our social producer involves runner I am Dave Ramsey your host we'll be back with you before you know it in.

"Nick needs that demand our awareness of in our response to in a in a way that might be different than we're used to so that i think is the more important thing than what country necessarily is providing best for their children would you say that the majority or the how the adoption places are are split and divided do you help with mostly us adoptions mostly adoptions from china or is a pretty equal split of all different countries currently right now in terms of our financial assistance the grants that we're giving at show hope our majority about forty percent of our applicants are adopting from china and all those adoptions our children with medical needs or special needs because that's the at options that china are currently doing in our country and then behind china is the united states so domestic adoptions is about another twenty twenty five percent of our adoption eight applicants and then the other the other thirty or so percent 30 to 40 percent is a variety of countries if i could just interjects i mean i don't know if this is your experience but when you say children are adopted from china with special needs or medical conditions my experience has been that many of these are very small to american standards they're very small medical issues that many of them can be corrected so i just want to communicate to our audience that if you are considering adoption and you're thinking about a child with special needs her medical issues many many many times these are issues that in the united states we would consider very really pretty small so i wouldn't let that stop you if you're thinking of adopting that's my personal experience it could be very different from other people's but um i'm just such a child advocate wanna see so many more children adopted because i think it opens up a whole new world not just for them but.

"Certainly there's there's many obstacles um named do you wanna you wanna talk a little bit about that i think outside of finances and time it's a big commitment in terms of paper working kind of getting ready for the process um yes certainly our government has regulations other countries uh working collaboratively with the hague convention combat ads kind of a level of protection which is great of in much needed in the uh particularly particular intercountry adoption process but because of that there's a lot of rules and regulations which are necessary but kind of add to the time mom do you want to add yeah we show hope you know founded in two thousand and three are r underlying hope is that we can also be an organization that israeli known for best practices and sell adoption can be hard and difficult when you're looney are looking outside of the united states i mean it's obviously difficult when you're looking at adopting domestically here the united states um so we are real intentional with our families and we try to help point them to countries who are operating within that hague convention that just gives a level of protection because there can just be some dino adoptions that happened that are ethical and so we really look for countries that are operating under the standards that the hague set forth can you tell us what some of those countries are yet while they've that they they am fluctuate you know some become hague accredited i call it a spotlight now the spotlight kinda shines on some countries that go k where we're doing pretty good it options here and then it kinda shifts around but right now one of the biggest countries that we do adoptions through its china obviously are girls are from china so that's a big one south korea south korea obviously the united states lead author about the hague as its domestic we up until just a few months ago that we did a lot we allow the ladder grants with families who were adopting from ethiopia but.
