Tiger Woods home after rollover car crash

"Tiger woods and that whole thing with the car crash with thankfully he's okay but us authorities have been called into question over the investigation into tiger woods. Crash in february woods was driving alone through a downhill stretch of road through in the suburbs when his suv struck a sign crossed over to oncoming lanes and flip several times before coming to rest on its side. The golfer rushed to hospital and had multiple surgeries for leg injuries. He sustained in the crash now. The la county sheriff's department said at the time that they quote did not see any evidence of impairment from woods and ruled. The crash was quote purely an accident however authorities have been accused of giving the superstar golfer favourable treatment with several parts of the investigation coming under fire in usa today for example they've interviewed several forensic crash. Experts who believe investigators should have been way more thorough before making their conclusions in particular for experts are questioning. Why the crash was framed as a pure accident and why a drug recognition expert wasn't brought in right away because there were many situations involved in the accident where it's kind of automatic. And so i mean i could go on what you reaction immediately hearing all that well a couple of things My big one is though when a story like that breaks. I'm i'm i'm going to ask you know whoever broke the story. Or whatever people's reaction to it if they're going oh yeah we want to hear more about that. What what do you gain from that. What what do you gain from from if the guys who had the scoop on this or any anybody else who who found out about it steve. Something slipped through the to a loophole. Here somewhere where this story breaks. So that's my question. what do you. What do you gain by china this story. What does anyone gained by trying to run with the story. It's going to be well. I guess it's to be the police. It's going to be harmful to tiger woods. It's going to be what whatever mistakes were made. If there were any and the end result is Well it's not right. I mean it happens all the time if this guy's imperative or not okay I get i get the sensationalism of it of this holster who the guy was a celebrity. And all that stuff. But that's what you asked me. MLB will use experimental rule changes in 2021 minor-league season

"So think if. Somebody's baseball ideas. Major league baseball spring training. Well do it now. Almost into it's not quite as third weekend but yeah what they're doing is major league. Baseball's got every level of minor league baseball trying out rules. New rule changes that if they go well they might consider implementing it the major league level. So it's basically test time. Experimental rule changes so. Let's go through a few of them. Yes all of it though. Just just to preface it. Steve the backstory hairstyle. Nice is they want more balls in play. Okay how can they. How can they get more ball. That that's what i read today right and it's also increase the pace of play. That's always something that every league is concerned with given they're trying to attract the youth and the youth probably has less attention span than any generation in history but Let's go through some of the minor league ball rule changes and a couple in particular that we wanna talk about. But we'll go through them. Triple a ball. Which is where the ottawa. Lynx us to play you can have larger bases. They'll be eighteen square inches instead of the usual fifteen and so that means your distance between basis is a little shorter three inches this just in and they're hoping to increase stolen bases with that aa ball. They're going to ban extreme defensive shifts. The deal is you have to have at least four defenders on the infield and they have to be all of them with two feet on the infield dirt enable inaba step off. Rule pitchers are going to be cold for a balk of they. Don't completely disengage from the rubber before throwing to a base and that's designed to increase stolen bases as well you've also got an ball pitchers limited to pick off attempts per plate appearance and if the pitcher tries for a third pick off and the runner is safe. He'll be charged with a bach. Because they we all agree that that thr- over the first base after a while it's pretty damn tedious but the two changes that will be happening in low able will be automatic strike zone systems previously used in the atlantic league in the fall league and the league is also set to use additional timers to increase the pace of play as well including between the delivery pitches and those two big. Those two things could be really big if they work in minor league ball and eventually end up in major league. Paul and those to me are the two biggest ones to me. That's like is a massive change. Stephen baseball if you have a consistent computerized strike zone be no. You know what i mean. No doubt about it. I watch games last year. Where you know even the announcers right you. You'll see a game where where the party out noise calling that low on. You know what he's calling it a strike he's calling it a strike that low on but then i saw them where it was. Just so willy. Nilly you know what this guy was calling and batters get it. You know you're just you're strikes on a little bit these calling the low on us highway one. But i've seen them where it's just knows what they're doing and its way out of the frame that they put up there now. That's a huge change. That'll make a big difference a bit. That'll nothing with the speed of play. But you know. I think it's the most significant thing ever. Yeah yeah. Baseball needs to keep evolving. All sports. Do though

Washington Capitals' Tom Wilson Receives 7 Game Suspension After Hitting Boston Bruins' Brandon Carlo

"Tom wilson's added again. The washington capitals rugged. Ford i was gonna call him tough guy but that was very tough thing. He did there recently against the boston. Bruins tom wilson has now been suspended for seven games for a hit against the boards on boston's brandon carlo. And it was well ugly in every way hit can be ugly. It was basically carlo up against the boards. Got the pocket and his skates. And wilson comes up and pretty much collides with the side of the guy's head and he left the game due to injury and It was just and it's not one of those deals where he can sort of. Give the guy the benefit of the doubt. Tom wilson continually runs into trouble with the nhl law and I mean these seven game. Suspensions four-game game suspensions the they just don't seem to be getting through to this guy. Now what did you think of him. There's no doubt in my mind that that he's lining up the guy's head okay whether shoulder right. That's the big hit right. That's the big hit when you when you leave the ice. Hers people incorrectly. See all the time. He left his feet. You know when he when he's leaving the isis the guys up against the boards. I think he's not even looking at him. Got his head down and this guy sort of lays into them with a shoulder to connect with his head. Okay so that's that's a terrible brutal disgusting dirty hidden hockey. Triple that stevie. When you're looking at the guys had up against the glass and you're gonna go smashing. You know like the guy the guys up the guys up against the boards and there's his his face might even be against the glass when he does it steve. It's just freaking heinous man idea. I thought i. That's what i thought when i looked out said that's like punching a guy down steve that's like punching a guy when his heads on the ice and you know as heads on the ice right. They don't do it right. You seldom see that right. The guy will pull up. What was the example. Last week was a beautiful example. The guy waving the linesmen and because he was going to use going to murder the kitty was fighting right. Yeah but this guy. I think he. He saw it from a mile away in terms of hockey speed. You know like you have a good two seconds there and tried to smash his head like a pumpkin into the glass. That's what i that's what i saw. Elsie the same. I mean and it's and it's this guy it's one of those deals where maybe i'm throwing around benefit of doubt of. It's somebody who's never done something like this before because it is a fast game and guys move the last second but there's nothing i can find here where i i can even begin to go down that road. A it's is tom wilson. You know if there's been a murder and there's a serial killer hanging around the scene of the crime. I'm gonna probably look his way and not given benefit of the doubt It's tom wilson and brandon. Carlo is totally stationary up against the boards. There was one today it was. Let's see. I think it was chicago in saint. Louis i wanna say and There was a big hit Behind the net and I mean it was one where he could look at and say okay. Well that's second go either way but this one was just. This is a guy. Carlos stationary against the boards. He didn't change direction. Didn't spin at the last second. He's totally still. And this guy had really his choice of where he wanted to hit him and He clearly chose get the the good. Maybe do the most damage knock this guy goofy. Get the puck and off. I go and intimidating. That's tom wilson's game. And so it's that's that's the frustrating part of it but more than that though it's hard for me to get to work out a budget anymore. Because the nhl at large doesn't seem to care that much y'all through a seven game suspension. Well this guy's been suspended repeatedly in the league and It doesn't seem to change anything for him and they don't ever seem to want to do something more fierce with this

Tiger Woods Hospitalized After Rollover Crash Near Los Angeles

"An update on tiger woods. As most of you have probably heard by now he was in a big car accident. He suffered serious leg injuries and he was trapped but conscious when emergency responders reached the scene of his rollover crash on a stretcher. California road this actually known for speeding an accident. He was driving shortly after seven. Am yesterday near l. a. And his suv crossed the median and went across two lanes of road before hitting a curb hitting a tree and landing on its side off the roadway in the brush and there was an la county sheriff's. Deputy was the first to arrive. He said he found would still in the driver seat wearing his seatbelt. Use able to tell him. His name was tiger. He was lucid and calm in shock. Didn't seem to be concerned with his injuries at the time. But i guess he was trying to get out but stock so they. Firefighters came used to pry bar in an ax to freedom meanwhile. "A very interesting. Nfl deal in at the philadelphia eagles have moved on from carson wentz. He's been traded to the colts massive contract as well. That's part of this deal. Is well taken that on when it goes to the colts for at twenty twenty one. Third rounder and twenty two conditional second round pick as i mentioned whence and jared goff the rams quarterback they were one and two in the draft and everybody thought they were all that the next big thing they had some success whence one super bowl now using kind of injury mode because nick foles won the won the super bowl for the eagles. The actual game but wentz was great. All that season and jared goff also went to a super bowl taken on new england and losing in the final so these guys had some success but man did they fall out of favor in a big old hurry both philly and l. a.

Cuban Decides Not To Play National Anthem At Dallas Mavericks Home Games

"Cubans decided. He started this before the nba season started made. This decision to the national anthem would not be played before any of his maverick's games and so far they've played a total of thirteen games. Preseason and regular season and has been played before any of them and is believed to be the first instance of a protein getting rid of the national anthem before the game gets underway and First question would be okay. Why did you make that decision. And according to one reporter is named shams sharabia the sources close to mark. Cuban says the decision to not play the anthem before mavs games isn't because they don't love the united states because many feel the anthem doesn't represent them and they want to continue discussion of how to represent people from all communities when honoring america at a game.

Marty Schottenheimer, NFL coach with 200 wins, dies at 77

"So james some sad news in the nfl coaching world. If you're of a certain vintage you'll remember the name marty schottenheimer. He was a coach starting with the new york giants back in seventy five when he was their linebackers coach and kept coaching right up until two thousand six with the san diego chargers. He was a head coach in kansas city. Washington san diego. But i remember most with cleveland browns head coach in the mid eighties for them when they got. Oh so close to a super bowl. Berth in the afc title game. They're about to beat denver. They're about to go in for the winning touchdown in the final minute of the game and earnest byner get stripped just as he's about to step into the end zone offload jeremiah casteel. Dist reached in grabbed the ball off byner denver recovers and they hold on for thirty eight to thirty three win. And that was. It's called the fumble. If you say that in cleveland people know the fumble ohio and The brown had no shortage in sports of disappointments. So that would be one of them. When you say the fumble people know exactly what you're talking about and really gives until the cavaliers finally when an nba title really lent itself to the lovable loser. Tag that cleveland. Sports fans have had for many years but marty schottenheimer Certainly had lots and lots of success. I think he was like fourth all time as far as coaching winds. Go so sad news to hear his passing today at the age of seventy

Is Tom Brady now the greatest team sport athlete ever?

"Who is the greatest athlete of all time to debate. That i saw again and again on social media today after tom brady won another super bowl. Mvp super bowl ring. He does again at the age of forty three and this might be as most impressive super bowl victory yet. And i don't even know how you have. That discussion in the big picture to be honest is like where. What are you basing it on is the number of championships is it. The number of mvp's is it. How levick you are It could be you know you can dismiss some guys because they're part of a team sport versus individual where it's one hundred percent of that person that drives a success like that's probably a i mean. It's an apples and oranges thing as well different sports. I don't even know how ya how you could ever come up with that. certainly james. Tom brady is very much in that discussion. Now here's the. Here's the issue. Stevie with tom brady being you know the certainly certainly the greatest quarterback of all time okay. Let's go with that all right. Let's go hands down greatest guy to play that position seven championships multiple. Mvp's multiple wins games. All that stuff. So i think he's the greatest quarterback but but if you if you were on that same team with tom say prior to the tampa and you're on the six superbowls and you know another player on that team another quarterback of course but so so. Where does that leave you. You know if you're if you're a middle linebacker going or gronkowski on. Hey i want six. There is that what is that. What the qualifiers. To be the greatest of all times. I was there. I wouldn't six so the the football kind of funny for me to pick to pick a player that has a completely different position in hockey. For example everyone you know you got a bunch of forwards bunch of skaters know and they award them bill norris trophy for defense and all that stuff and so hockey. I think you can figure out who. Who's greatest of all time because you're comparing apples to apples there. So that that's a bit of an issue for me to single dot saying you're the greatest of all time again again because there'd be other guys who played on that team who won super bowl championships you know it's just an interesting position to because everything goes to the quarterback it's such a unique position your guiding the ship. You're the leader of the team on and off the field. It's such a unique position that in team sports is not really another comparison in my opinion the other sport that i could compare that to where where i think. You're singling out a position player. So i don't think you can call them the greatest football player of all time. It's quarterback baseball right. You can get an you. Get an ace pitcher. Okay on a on team of course and if you said okay well he's he's the greatest baseball player of all time. And you're going to wait. Wait a minute wait a minute. I'm i'm sammy sosa over here. Okay right what do you mean. I'm where i'm pete rose there. I'm i guess pizza name wouldn't be in there anymore. You know what i mean. So bad is gonna wait. Wait a minute here. I don't know even the guy even guy like thomas chabad like just what he's up to you can see one of the highlights of one of the goals basically shibata back there and literally five seconds in his own end. Nobody coming adam. Instead of standing there waiting for a change to happen and then whiffs on a pass turns it over connacht score. It was just a totally disjointed effort. Just when Mets thought they hired the right man, they fired Jared Porter as GM after harassing texts to female

"And is the new york. Mets general manager jared porter. He was one of the rising stars in major league baseball and now he is unemployed. Always good the mets looked like they were on their way. They're reinvesting in the team and now he's unemployed because he was doing some offensive things and this is Interestingly enough like almost five years ago that he did it and now it's come back to haunt him and it's So last month he was hired as the mets. Gm and jared porter was fired for sending sexually explicit uninvited text messages and images to a female reporter in two thousand sixteen when he was still in the cubs. Front-office espn reported late monday. That porter sent dozens of unanswered texts to the woman including a picture of quote an erect naked penis in. Espn said. It obtained a copy of the text history. Many of the messages and photos he said were displayed in the report online. And so new. Mets owner steve cohen terminated porter in my initial. Press conference spoke about the importance of integrity. And i meant it. There should be zero tolerance for this type of behavior. And it's a. It's it's saddens me to think about the woman in question because she was a foreign correspondent who had moved to the us to cover major league baseball. And i guess. She met porter at yankee stadium. They spoke briefly about international baseball. The exchange business cards now the only time they actually ever spoke but then ported starts with texts like text a palooza complimenting her looks inviting her to meet him in different cities that he was traveling to asking. Why are you ignoring me. And then after he sent a lewd picture she had to ignore sixty more messages and then a vote. The vulgar photo that was basically straw that broke camel's back and the woman actually went back to her home country and left her job. That i mean the whole thing is sad but to think that the woman With everything that was done by porter here allegedly that that contributed to her decision to leave journalism altogether and return to her home country at just so sad across the board.

NFL's Steelers-Ravens game postponed a third time due to Covid-19

"The nfl's in rough shape right now with this whole thing going on with the ravens and the steelers They're gonna try and get that game in at least as we record this. As of this moment there still going to try and get in the ravens and steelers game but man the ravens are just like. I think they're close to twenty employees now twenty players. I should say twenty players and then a number of others who are employees that That are off off. The can't play because of kobe whether they've been exposed or actually have it and it's a. It's a big problem with with the ravens right now in summer wondering okay is this. You know you guys handling this properly like it's it's gotten so bad with the ravens that may be the place to just have the ravens forfeit the game. Because he's got pretty soon. Maybe but in the meantime he's like you know obviously as a as a franchise you didn't do a very good job of keeping cove it at bay so maybe you should pay for that with an l. "The Arizona coyotes today announced that they were renouncing the rights to Mitchell Miller their first draft pick in this month's NHL draft following in Arizona Republic examination in Miller's harassment of a developmentally disabled African. American classmate four years ago the selection of Miller now playing hockey at the University of North Dakota or so many sends prospects are. was widely criticised after the newspaper came out with details of Miller's bullying and racist taunting of Isaiah Maya cruthers. Eighteen years. Old Meyer cruthers said today he took no join seeing Miller Katie said it's unfortunate I'm sad it had to come down to that I wish none of this had happened. There's nothing to be happy about he's a good player and deserves to be in the NHL. NFL: Steelers-Titans won't be played in Week 4

"The NFL postponed the titans steelers game for this week several members of Tennessee's team tested positive for covert earlier this week. So the NFL initially planned to just push back Sunday's game between the two clubs to either Monday or Tuesday by the way both clubs at three and all right now. But then two more positive tests to the titans today brought the total to eleven including five players and that prompted the League call off the game and play. Later this season week seven looks like the best option 'cause the titans are scheduled for a by both the steelers and their appointed that week Baltimore buys the following week. So interesting stuff and it makes you kinda. Wonder if the NFL's doing the right

Gale Sayers, Chicago Bears Legend, Dies At 77

"Passing away today. He of course Legend with the Chicago Bears great running back. He was the guy when it came to running backs until Walter Payton came along terrific running back for many years in the sixties and early seventies passed away today, and he was of course immortalized in the movie that featured Billy Dee Williams playing Gale Sayers and James Caan playing Brian Piccolo and that was a whole story of Brian wage below and and shares. Will Chicago Bears at the time best friends a black guy and a white guy at a time when you know racism was super rampant. It's still with us obviously dead. But yeah, Brian song was a very famous movie and Gale Sayers was one of the main characters or at least you know, his likeness was one of the main characters in that film right off

Novak Djokovic disqualified from US Open 2020

"Novak Djokovic James was disqualified from the US Open which is great for Dennis. Chef of all by the way, he was going to win we all know that but he's disqualified. Basically between points he's wandering. I guess kind of in the middle of the court and he kinda lobs the ball at the line judge the way you might if a ballboy was looking and you lob it at them, he probably hit a little harder but the line judge wasn't looking because you this just in you don't throw the tennis ball at the line. And she looked like she took it in the throat. And went down. She could not continue and because of that, he was disqualified from the US Open for that. You could see right away it was totally accidental. But what did you think of the whole thing should have been disqualified? Well if you read the rule. Right, if you're the which they've been showing for frigging every ten minutes for since it happened. Okay. It's it's pretty clear. What he did would would be would be breaking that rule. Okay it's kind of like. I don't have it in front of me but you may be able to pull up you may not, but it's kind of like. You know you're in charge of your own stick right in hockey, and if you're still goes up and you clip a guy in the forehead unintentionally, right? You're going to get penalized. Okay. And that rule is you have to be in control of your own stick whether it's accidental or not. If if you if you hit a guy, it's high sticking tie sticking and maybe more if you cut the. I think this rule in tennis reads the same way I didn't think it rose to the level of being kicked out. Did you. Know I didn't ask for a couple of reasons. One is he wasn't trying to do that. It's not as lined up here. He's got his sights and drilled the ball. At the line judge, make sure you understand here there's not a ballboy here he hit a line judge right Yup ballboy would probably be different right for the obvious reasons the ball boy would be ready there have to be ready at all times to. Give balls, and whereas the line judge might just be sort refocusing and you know they can take rest for a moment they may not be looking at the player. And it was a line drive. Okay, you came off his racket. Well it didn't bounce. It didn't bounce. He didn't lob it up in the Air Steve He. Say Line drive don't be confused. It was like one hundred miles an hour buddy. He's sort of pissed too. took the ball whacked it and it and it hit her on the fly in the throat. Wasn't intentional not at all. So when you see that, I'm like come on the guy, the guy didn't mean it. You know. So. That's you know that's a bit of a drag their. Okay. But back to the hockey roll like there's lots of penalties where you don't mean it. and it happens well, the broadcasters at the time they they actually had the they basically could hear a bit of the conversation. Between the officials and Jovic and one of the announcers said he believes that they had said part of the decision to have him disqualified was because the line judge could not continue right and. I honestly looked at that and maybe I I don't I don't want to be taken emails and an angry calls and things like that but it's a tennis ball. Am I look at the speed of that tennis ball? That's not exactly one where I'll be sending a card praying that she survives like that's that did not look like it hit particularly hard. That's just me eyeballing and give an opinion. But. We shall see. I agree she could've continued. If I had to you know I looked at her I I don't think he was faking I think she was surprised. But it looked. Real God her her her corner would come screaming but it looked a little over the top. Okay. Role Lawyers Up. Yeah. I don't know

"We're putting in on show number three hundred, so if you've been with us for these two hundred ninety nine, you know were about it. Steve It's Jim doing thing James. How're things with you? Steve Things are fine. To better wasn't Swat like the swap. The swap project. Swap shop swap shop hey, not bad Steve Warne. Steve Warn Project this. Very catchy. The SWAT team, yeah! You. Don't have so. We gotTa Bang this out Steve Because I did. You were there. I tried to do an interview by phone. With for the for the curling podcasts, and and we did it was great was forty minute interview with the world champion are the Canadian champion carry? Anderson And of course I didn't push all the right buttons. Steve so I gotta do that later again tonight, yeah! Fuck. It's the worst feeling in the world, and it's probably happening twenty times, and it's just you get this really good interview. You're happy with it, and it doesn't record right or got crackling or something, and it just makes your heart sink. Especially, the four people involved in it, too. I'm trying to I'm trying to think of the things over the years. Yeah I was just I. Mean it was just a bonehead? Move on and I got a list Stevie like a pilot now. Okay, you know a pilot checklist. Okay, it's. It's obviously a mandatory thing they do. They check double checks all that stuff so now. That's what I have online for the checklist and the big one is get someone else to do it. Maybe, we'll figure. It's some sort of backup system. Continue to let you do it, but we need a backup system. That's the number one. Trying to think when you talk with your heart dropping. So, I got great story one year living in Ottawa I was going on a golf trip. and. After Florida with my buddies. So I was in a bit of A. Scrap with my wife at the time. She was pissed I was leaving. The kids were young. I probably shouldn't have been steep but I. Took this golf trip? There's a lot of yelling going to. Walk out the door to go away for a week while kids were screaming Oh we. Should shitty diapers. Yeah so I've I've. Got Outside. I said Fuck I got just get out of here. Get Out of. There was no question that it wasn't going on the trip. Steve of course, and and off I go i. pull out of the car and and. Down the highland, I'm driving down the parkway to the airport running for my life as usual kind of late for the plane. And all of a sudden, they freeze going. Did I leave my golf clubs? No are they in my car? And I stop. The car on the side of the airport parkway and I creep out and I'm I'm opening the trunk slowly. Steve like. Someone's expecting there might be a dead body in there. And I'm just looking. Lifting, druggies plea. No clubs. Yeah. So I got a phone home Steve. To get Alison to do you mind just whistling those clubs over to the airport phone? Right because he can't make the round trip you. Can't get back there and tie, can you, can you? And and. She says no problem. You there on the driveway. In the middle of the driveway. So what I thought Steve, when I was backing.

"Here you good listener are right where you are and folders right with the world except for all the stuff that isn't on the show today a couple of interesting scandals but right now a guy who's a walking talking scandal wrapped up in an enigma. It's changed your own our thanks James. `nigma Baby GonNa Nick Mayo Steve I'm okay. I'm you know I'm I'm active streaky. Active on social media. You know all you know some days some days I might might lay down a video. Sometimes I go three or four days without doing anything Do you know Steve when I throw something up there okay. Quite often Steve. People Miss Mr Point of my story. But there's always fucking happens. Okay so if I go back over the last week so for example I put my daughter on the roof of my car and was driving with her on the roof. That looks safe. Yeah and it was a it was a crack was funny. Maybe laugh social distancing. We're GONNA do it. And so you put that operate in your. You know your your human Hang on Stephen. Getting fucking call. Called another false starts monitoring credit card accounts for the last six months. You now all I. Oh Wow wow lucky. See that Steve. They've been they've been offering me a new deal because they've checked my credit card accounts over the last six months. Congratulations well Steve. I haven't my credit card is maxed. Never I never pay my credit card off monitoring your credit card history and we've determined Ura sucker well. Well you know what I'm GONNA do boy. That's skip three months of mortgage payments. You know maybe I'll get a better deal. Well that's a good idea. Anyway I got one of those calls yesterday was it but it was a real person like they've been bugging me for a while. Something like allied. Something kept showing up on my on. My phone kept looking at it going. I'm not going to bother with that but it kept coming in coming in common so I was like well. This is this is more than just a scammer kind of thing. It's a great pick this up and see what it is because they keep calling and they're like yes Is a Joy Wentworth? There sort of smirked them like. It's just been a wrong number all this time. No no I have no idea who that is really you telling me you have no idea we went worth is it's obviously somebody that that's owed money by. Joy Wentworth and so this guy was like really really rude to me. He assumed I was. Joey Wentworth and I've been ignoring his calls for two weeks so He was not very happy with me. Just just finally hung up. Oh it was like a private thing. Yeah it was it was obviously ill sounded like a creditor and Joey wasn't paying his bills and he wasn't answering his phone he finally answers. It was funny. Yeah so well the one the one I got one time is hollow. Wait we need to talk to you about your computer? Okay do you have a you have a virus and it needs to be fixed right and I said Okay. I buy into these for a while and said okay. I'll do that and what you need to do. Is Go to here and I and I say to the guy. I don't have a computer right. I don't have one and he says okay. Follow these easy steps and Wait a minute wait a minute you know they just keep going and the other one is that I did was. I put my car on Kaji one time and just threw it up there. Some wanted to buy my car and ultimately that's why I ended up selling it. I wasn't in the market so my car. I thought I'd throw it up there and see what sort of price you know because you just never know what your car is worth right. I mean they always. It's worth worth what someone will pay. But so I threw it up there and then immediately I got I got a hit. You know and it was thanks. I love that car. I've been looking for one. I'd like to pay you full price. Plus of plus five hundred dollars for your right was like. Oh this is fantastic. Because I put it on at a much higher price to the guy wanted to blah blah blah. Anyway I find from a car sales guy that I know. Who's in the used car business that this is a scam and so I said to the guy you know will give me your number and I'll phone you back and then it's well. No I'm on a ship okay. There's no cell service and that's kind of weird eventually. I find just the guy keeps pulling me right so stevie I start to launch in and I said Okay GonNa play along with this for a while and I said the carpet. I gotta be honest. I wasn't I wasn't totally upfront. In the ad I have in there and the two front wheels come loose all the time when you're driving and they gotta call right away. I get a response not a problem. You know we'll we'll get okay also also you need to know. There's there's a massive hole in the gas tank so you gotta fill up about every twenty five kilometers right and guys like not a problem not a problem at all. We're really excited about this. Just Give Me Count. Alec by ending this thinks TV. I'M NOT KIDDING. Just just to refocus the front wheels come loose. There's a hole in the gas tank. There's no back seat. The the sun roof got stolen. Steve I said the sunroof he can't and you can't get a replacement for it. Half the cars painted blue. The other APPs ages they on and on and on and they just gives it no problem. Your pay pal. Give me your paid pal. No that's every wonder really people really you got John. Candy's car from planes trains and automobiles and yet they still want it. Isn't that convenient? I think it's I think it's a really good for you because I think it's important you screw with these people have the time. Yeah if you have the time you get to discourage them. Though from the career path they chose. Yeah imagine phoning think you need to give us a one hundred ten dollars or whatever it is to to fix your computer and you say I don't have a computer and they keep going and fuck. It's that doesn't make any sensor just just reading from the script and I'm just happy. Somebody's talking to me makes it sound like I'm actually doing my job. Losses Right behind me cracking a whip. Yeah anyway back to what I was talking about. So put up these posts people. This is what people Steve I always. I always get drilled on something in the video or even a photograph That has nothing to do with what I was doing. What the subject. I was putting up there so it's like. Hey here's here's the big punch line you know. I'm social distance by my daughter and I hold my phone up. She's on the roof tied down with Bungee cords. And then someone will go. Hey Jim what's what's with that? Zet on your lip or it's like yesterday. You Know Stevie. I came up with this thing. I like to drink drink coke. I don't drink a bunch of it and I'll open a full can and have a few sips and then I put it back in the fridge and a but it goes flat. You know if you leave there so I decided to do is I take my tub of butter margarine. I placed on top of the cancel so it seals its. Tv stays fresh nice. You know what I mean good idea and I got so I put that up yesterday and I got tons of responses Steve from people saying hey dude. What's what the fuck and no food in your fridge. You or the way you turn that tab that was really or what's the paint all over your head on and on and on but it's very funny it's very get a real kick out of it. Well sometimes you need that stuff. That's common where they'll they'll miss the actual subject of what you're trying to post and they'll look at something in the background and say wait a minute and that's sort of how. I feel about one of the stories that we have today from the National Football League. So there's a very famous safety in the league very good one as a member of the Seattle seahawks for several years on that Great Legion of boom defense. And he's a bit hot water right now. It's Earl Thomas. He's now with the Baltimore Ravens and he was involved in an incident with his wife Nina last month. So this is the scandals are talking about today here on the show. She held a loaded gun less than a foot from his head. According to court documents this happened in Austin Texas and the cops were called in about four in the morning back in April. They get a call about a disturbance when they get there Nina. The wife has a knife in her hand. And she's chasing earl around the vehicle and he's got a gun in his hand standard style so they draw their weapons and they ordered the to the ground and they comply with it further issue to court. Documents had a little more detail than that Nina alleges that url left the home after an argument over his drinking she then looked through his social media accounts and found video of him with another woman and she continued. She found earl and his brother both in bed together with other women at somebody else's house and so to that point brawl the potential for violence there because well he was awfully close to getting his head blown off because police say Nina had her finger on the trigger. She thought the safety was engaged. It was not. She thought it was not loaded. It was loaded so earl was very close. Dabbing something very very bad happened to him but all I can think of through. This whole story is earl was in brother was in bed with his brother. Yeah right that's just oh whole ex. Yeah that's funny. We think a lot of like I just hear that right. This guy's in bed with his brother breath train apply. Oh No stevie no no no I like I like the story where the chickens a gun also and and then her responses yeah. I'm sorry you know what I should have had the safety on. No no no. You shouldn't have been pointing gone now. It's like you may have the law wrong here. You know. I'm sorry I I should have checked if there was a magazine was in there. The safety on. Oh you're right okay. We're going to let you get away. I don't ever do that again. If you're gonNA point the gun let's make sure we have the safety okay. Beacon Safety on Safety Steve Get. It was safety safety. Yeah absolutely I don't think I want like any dude I know I don't you know in the same workbench area. If you catch my drift let alone. My brother never had one. Steve Never had one. But it's going to be a couple of girls. I first of all. Let's clear up a couple of things here before we get to this sort of small issue of her pointing a revolver outer sons brothers that are sorry boyfriends or husbands head so first of all. It's going to be that way. Stevie I'm not like you and I steve that ever happened. You don't pass and now I'm not doing i. I don't even like when you come in for a social hug when we're both fully. I just not going to happen. You get a little salty when that happens you know and I like to hug. Yeah if it happens Steve. I'm going like this okay. Let's do this. Let's do this. You wait outside. I'll go first and then I'll leave and then you can. Yeah if we're like sitting around and like let's see some circumstances are all different and this woman says that's what she wants to do you and I are the you know involved in this process. My immediate I thought was how can I get rid of jungle? How can I remove him? She'll just willis let her go and get ready for business. And then I'll find a way to get you out of the picture and say oh he'll be along shortly. That would be the only way I could see the whole thing kind of continuing. You know. There's so many places to go Steve. It's one of those things with this deal. A lot of factors okay the the pointing the gun at his head. Her her sort of excuse with the cops was right. Oh Yeah I should have checked if the magazine was voted or the safety was on like you might be missing the point there. She also rob. I forgot to mention that part. She actually did a robbery the same night as you do. Wow and this guy's probably loaded so she's got some trouble she's got some issues here. We don't have to delve too far in there but I guess if you're the guy right so we're there's smoke there's fire Stevie okay this dudes drinking. So that's the fight starts wouldn't be the first one you know. It's not like the first time you get drunk. Stephen you get in trouble which happened to me when I look back. You know the sort of miss the time we're supposed to be home and you come sheep. Sheep sheepishly walking through the door got hammered. And it's going to be you piece of shit you know you're not pulling your weight around here. You know or or really. Never do that again. Right to the gun honey. Can I get grounded? I you know Jesus but I guess if you're this Guy Steve once in a while I I remember this and I know what the guy's doing I can see what happened where you know..

"Good guy good guy. He's alive fucking. He drove his car under one of these Under a bridge. That said don't do it and jammed his currently there. Oh my God trying to get a Bi. We've all done that. I did at one early on though when I was just learning to drive and driving to school and I had something on the floor of the passenger side. I think I can get that and you can get that and did the exact same thing but that was very early on in my driving career. Not In the late eighties. You know what I did. One Time Steve. When I was playing lots of golf and used to play in this big money game player back then and so my my deal was. I'm I got a second shot here into a par four Stevie Wright and I'm really concentrating lots of money on the line and I was took took my gloves off after hit. My tee shot just out of habit. I feel my glove off and throw it on my back then walked to my next shot and and I'd be standing there like like a like a Jack Jack. Nicholson Nicolas Looking at it. And I'd put my glove out and I put it on you. Know eyeing up the shot Steve. And then and then I'd seal the glove up but A. B. was inside the Glove. Jank's put the thing on. I got stabbed by one of my partners in the palm. You ever tried to get a golf glove off. Quickly Steve sweating a layer of skin better than murder Hornets. Hammering me in the bomb January. That's nasty nasty. Got Stung fifty. Two Times one time they counted in the Bush while engulfed fifty two. Steve did did a high fall on you or something. Noel I I was in the. I was playing in a tournament that everyone and went into the by hit my ball. Bush blazing hot against shorts on. And you gotta you gotta by by the rules here. You can't fuck around and you're not. You're not allowed to step on trees. You know to push them aside and all that stuff for you gotta just take your normal stance but it's a Rosebush okay and I'm getting clipped by these thorns or I thought it was a Rosebush Steve and it was a hive fucking. Got Up my crotch. Steve got into my bag. Everything a bit me on the bag. No the legs and it was awful. You was off. You've got to be staying on your bank. I did I did. I don't think ever had more than one beast at a time and it was always on a you know like a forearm. Something like it would sting years ago. That hurts dammit that stings but I can't even imagine having fifty and some of those on your bag. Yeah well I'll tell you what it is hard to imagine so when I when I get to. Ottawa will do a show for the summer. Something I'm GonNa Pinch your bag okay. I'm GonNa Pinch it okay. I'll let you try it on. You probably do that anyway. Even if we did for Science Pitch Beg. Oh you all bumblebee Jimmy. Little thing love it a couple of things on the sports front today. Maybe start with this of Andrew Cane kind of grabbed me in that. He's feeling like the. Nhl needs to provide more opportunities for players to show more personality. Cain does not lack for personality. We all know that. But he thinks the league and and his fellow players need to do a better job showcasing. What makes them special when the league gets back up and running and he told this to? Tsn On Friday. It's part of hockey culture to shy away from a lot of things the more we embrace uniqueness and people's differences and use it to our advantage the greater our league is going to be. I wouldn't say this guy's lineup willing to do their own reality. Tv show or wanting to be in front of the camera at all times so that's on us as players to want to embrace that side of the game a bit more and help the sport grow especially when it comes to the. Us What do you think of that? I think that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Could you imagine first of all what? What are they going to audition for? America's got talent whether they're GONNA join fear factor here okay. What if you're his. Could YOU IMAGINE Steve? If you're Zach Zach kid whereas the Buffalo Chicago where he's playing San Jose. You imagine if you're the head coach of San Jose and they had to fucking terrible year right. I don't think they're gonNA make the playoffs this year if we resume no deadline. They're like a third last year right now And Doug Wilson say right. He's jam in his son. I think his sons the assistant anyway. So it's the worst year ever with one of the most competitive general managers you've ever seen. Okay Doug Wilson. I know. I know you've met him over the years I know the guy. He's like fiercely. Competitive cannot stay. Could you imagine okay? Well the viruses hit here. You've got to be a lot of GM's thinking what are we going to do for next year? You know fucking frustrated in. What are we GONNA do. You gotta get the players onside and then you wake up this morning to hear. A cane is granting an interview. A guy to talk about what lies ahead for the NHL. And you're hoping maybe this kid fucking show a little humility Steve. Talk about what we need to do to win. You know we need to do it. Players have to be able to video their lives and stuff like that. Yeah really really. Is that what we're I mean? Could you imagine if I'm Doug Wilson I'm on the phone and fuck are you doing you idiot personality whatever? I don't even know what he means by that why I think he just wants more players to be like him is what it sounds like to me. Because of android Kane has never been shy to jump on social media and display or say controversial things like there was that url very early in his career. He basically at the lack of cash. And he's using wads of like you know hundred dollar bills this and like pretending like making a phone call out on the balcony of his sweet but at the phone call. It's not a fallen. It's actually a big Wad of cash. And he called it. The money phone was when he did a couple of years later where he's not another one where he did he was he was sounding. What social media? It was but he's doing pushups without a shirt on and sometimes people put weight on their back. They had their girlfriends sit on their back or pureed. He put a bunch of wads of cash again. All the weight of that is helping them workout and he's he's also been a controversial character because he's criticized the NHL for the way they do their business. I know there was some problems with the Winnipeg jets when he was there. I mean I mean I hear all these reports one that I keep hearing over and over again was there was almost like a solid mutiny against himself or or a prank against him in that. They threw his tracksuit into the team. Shower at one point Maybe just you know. Teach him a lesson about whatever So the the guy's been extremely personality laced through his whole career so it sounds to me like he wants more players to be more like him. I would listen you idiot. What's the money thing holding wads of cash pretending it's a fourth the money phone or doing push ups with a bunch of money on your back because it's heavy. How ABOUT AGAIN STEVE? I'm running the team. I got an idea how about using the Stanley Cup. How about you get that on your users of the Stanley Cup phone or put that on your back. Yeah okay can we. Can we do something like that? Vander whatever's frigging name is Cain you know. This guy's moron. Well I think I think I as a fan a someone who watches the game shirt. It'd be great to see you know some some more colorful commentary. But I mean I think about his teammate Joe Thornton who at one point I guess it was probably two or three years ago One of his teammates. Who Was it exactly? I think it was Thomas Hurdle and he scored four goals in a game and he got criticized by the media. Effectively in the media went to Joe Thornton and asked about hurriedly said Hey Heard overdid it a bit. If with a big celebration game was no longer in doubt as for the maybe a bit too much and Joe Thornton said if I ever got four goals I'd get my cocco and start stroking right. And he didn't he didn't mean for that to be publicized to the world but of course it got out there and there's a guy showing a little personality and having some fun with the media and he gets burned for it so if I were a pro hockey player or professional athlete in any sport. I'm sorry I'm not giving you too much because I know it will come back to haunt me well and didn't didn't I remember jumbo since we've been doing the show. Didn't he get pissed off and I was really mad at him for about asking for a trade. He was disappointed that he didn't get traded at the deadline. Because he wanted that one chance he still hasn't won a Stanley Cup after playing eighty three years in the NHL so disappointed that he didn't get moved. And I think both of us thought that was a bit odd because you say that after the why would you? Why the saying that after the fact is now you're you to some degree at least alienating potentially Your teammates and your fan base. Yeah I've well I remember that going. What are you doing joe but I never heard this story mode. If you've got four. Four goals like them again gave raccoon off his face today by the way we did. Okay Anyway on this thing. I just advise the captain of the team or something going. You know you got to back it up that Shit Steve. You gotta back it up and if you're GONNA do shit like that you know I get it. It's in fun. But you're GONNA get drilled. Here you're GONNA get fucking drilled your teams in last place. I'm GONNA do push ups with money on my back. No you're not gonNA find player. I've always thought he had more in the tank. I always thought he was going to be a little better player than he was. He's been a good player. No question above well above average but yeah I mean I think I sometimes wonder if is focused on the right place. You know maybe talk about wanting to get better for next year like you said off the top of this conversation. The sharks were dreadful this year. Maybe talk in terms of. Here's what we need to do. We need to get better. I need to get better. And don't be leader. You know talk about those things instead. You're getting into this thing. I mean I'm sure it's no big deal. I don't think he came and had a press conference about this. It was probably a throwaway line in this interview with. Tsn's Mark Masters. But it's still kind of makes me raise an eyebrow still the NHL. George Little Rock. He was out and Edmondson for a while as a tough Guy Montreal Canadian's and he's dealing with Cova nineteen these battling it hard. He's in the hospital still and he would be I think and Think you agree that he's in the discussion for one of the toughest? Nhl Players of all time. There weren't many people who are interested in fighting George Loerrach. They weren't to Jackie. But anyway and Laura Calls Battling Cova Nineteen. He calls it the worst thing ever. It takes all my energy just to get up so that sucks to hear that and you were. You had a a note his the medical side that I'd forgotten about. Yeah he's on. He's on the the. What do you call him? "There might be a kajillions things that they're donating things too and you obviously have to prioritize no matter how wealthy you are. Bill Gates. Whoever the wealthiest guy in the world is Doesn't matter like you can pretty much get rid of all your wealth in about five hours just by the unbelievably large numbers of great charities. There are and great causes. There are kept. So what do you think British Open? Looks like it's done. I liked the one thing about this whole deal. The whole Cova thing is from experts to family people to leaders to sport team owners. All that stuff in the end all of them are saying the same deal as shut the stuff down We don't know when we're going to start up again. The main number one thing that we should be focusing on is is staying safe and healthy and people stop going out. What it means to me is that we're here in April sister April second right now and the actual tournament doesn't start until July sixteenth and that's worthwhile asking myself. The question with thing be over like when are we going to resume normalcy and all the sudden something new comes in Wimbledon was canceled this week. The Olympics now the British open which is in the mid July. Like the these your answers you know. Sports is giving us the answer as to when things might return to normal and the answer right now is not anytime before mid-july right. Yeah I still don't I think it's way too early for people to start to expect an answer on when this thing's going to end you know and even even the pandemic experts in infectious disease guys are going. We don't know we don't know. And even when it does get to a place where the curve gets flattened and they start to look at trying to get back to some sort of normalcy. It might even say after that but maybe gotta wait another month. You know kind of like my my ex wife as you know is at my my house my town halls and I went over to hers because she's seen patients all day as a doctor so no one goes to that house known goes back to my house. Do stand outside the door. So when this thing ends Steve. She's been living in my town house. How much how much longer do I have to wait when she leaves that house? Like the got away two weeks till everything dies in there if she had the riders. So there's all that followed. I think there's a bit of science on that right leg. It's if it's on hard surfaces the seems to be stats on that live from hotter of ours. I would think that the house will be good to go to fumigate or anything like that if you be able to day buffer. You're probably find that's true. You might have maybe toxins fear growing out of the wall out not saying it's not hazardous but it may not be anything related your wife or corona virus anyway. I don't disagree with any of that. It's not like come on British Open. Don't cancel bright. What do you think about these provincial? Things like these right now. Quebec this week. You know the just all the bridges we have here in the city of Ottawa Between Ottawa. And the uderway. Quebec is basically put up checkpoints basically to prevent Ontarians from entering Quebec. And I just I'm I'm I'm wondering if that's maybe not a bit much now. Well I don't think anything's a bit much anything anything. Well there's gotta be it's gotTa be what you'll accept. I just I don't I don't think it is I. I think anyone say well. We're not going to allow this. We're not going to allow this. I'm like absolutely have her. There's there's nothing over the top but I is for sure there is well. You're you've reacted differently to this thing that I I've found myself when it happened. This is not say this is sort of crazy and and walking out of my house coach. I guess I shouldn't be doing this. You know walking around the mall or and then of course it built bigger and bigger and bigger next thing. I'm not even going near my front door saying no I'm not going. You're you're you. You didn't quite react the same way. I'm not saying it's right wrong or otherwise but I'm a I'm I fall into that category of of nervous twitchy guy on a you know eight out of a scale of one to ten on how I am about it. I personally in a selfish way. T- Steve I smoke and I'm sixty and everything I look at is if you smoke and your sixty be careful so the I mean honestly. The cigarettes are probably a bigger problem. I mean if if I'm objectively measuring out bigger threats and think I would say maybe stop smoking that right which don't come up but I'm about to actually go by a microphone this afternoon. I don't think you should get that thing delivered. Well here's here's how it works. It's pretty cool actually. So it's a local store Basically I go online. I ordered the Mike and I just click the box that says pickup. And so yeah it's paid for. It's done the transaction is done. All I got to do is go pick it up. I go to the store. I sit in the parking lot from the parking lot iphone in and Sam here. Here's my license plate number. They basically come out. I popped my trunk. They throw it in. I shut the trunk. After they're gone. Boom Gonzo wow driving and bring me a team Burger and frosty root beer to just put it onto the site at my window. He's going to be on roller skates like they used to be happy days. Arnold's well that's good totally touch list. Smart that's smart so that I guess that isn't over if you're super cautious about it so I'll tell you what you know. Who's doing their part. Steve and I've got to give them credit. Okay is in China. Shenzhen is stepping up and making it illegal to eat dogs or cats now. That's that's getting on board here. That's going to have a huge domino effect around the rest of the World Steve. You're not allowed to eat your pets. Just this is important. Steve if we're going to provide any public service anyone through this form in this podcast we you know we owe it to people too. I'm looking at them because you you sent me this story. It says under the new rules which come into effect May I? The government says it'll be illegal to eat animals raised as pets in Shenzhen which becomes the first city in the country to ban the consumption of cats and dogs. But my thought is soya. Are you allowed to go out and eat free range dogs and cats the way the government says it's only illegal to eat animals that you've raised as pets think about Jesus. What did what did Menus is to look like Steve. You know we're going to start with a little appetizer of rover and then fluffy is going to be a part of the country that we whiskers whiskers we wrap wrap up a nice beautiful desert with whiskers is on the menu. I just don't get it. Maybe the first by law should be not eat bats. There you go. Maybe that's how this all things started. Yeah anyway I just thought it was April fools to be honest with you. I thought it was looking at a headline from from April. First but new knows Steve. I wonder what's changed since March in a landmark court decision. No no eating your dog or cat. Yeah what is it that I'm wondering what what's what's changed things? What's what's Stem the tide of of cat and dog munching in Shenzhen. Why did they why they become the first Chinese city and yet the rest of China is still so game to take down fluffy and FIDO boy? These laws are unbelievable. Are they marinated? Billy did you put them in. What's the recipe for this? They're fantastic so fresh. And then meanwhile like the rest of the world is so deeply in love with cats and dogs like social media like clearly the number two thing after porn that people want to see is cat videos. Cats being playful messing around the dogs have got up there as well. We love cats and dogs will protect them like they found a serial killer primarily. Because somebody was doing bad things to cats all share. You don't f with cats where they found Luca magna basically because this guy had originally started posting videos of himself killing cats. That's other rest of the world naturally thinks of dogs and cats. I don't know what China's problem is well or tagging. The latest thing on Netflix. Right that that is is beyond dysfunction. Check it out. It's like you can't believe what you're watching. You're right right. That's all of big cats and kept in captivity in zoos. So we're going to take time out when we come back on the show. We'll talk about what's going on with the Sans we'll also talk about Jeff Luna in. Aj hinch supposedly suspended for a year. But what if there is no baseball season? Get to that next after. These words can't think.

How're you how is the weekend long weekend? Stevie took a day off. We took a yacht the clocks going ahead an hour. Steve that always screws me up. It always screws me up because normally I get up around nine thirty or ten in morning and the clocks went ahead Steve. Four thirty I get up this afternoon so I really throws me okay when the clock telling me though you did have a late night though well I went. Have you ever been to Banff Steve? You came up to audition for that. Rock show is doing and if you nailed it you did. It was bath bath. Jasper the mountains rocky mountains. If you've never seen mountains before I forget I I'm I take them for granted of course been here for so many years but They're beautiful it is. It is nice. It's the first time I went was in one thousand nine hundred seventy eight. I came out here on a trip with my family during the Commonwealth Games and my dad we're in Edmonton which the mountains are not neb into you can't see them. You gotta drive three hours away and my dad said well. Let's go to Where we went to Jasper to play golf or banned from one of the two places and I just remember the first time I saw a mountain whose going holy fuck are these things ever big bigger than again. No Hills Yeah they're just staggering. You know like many wonders of the world and I remember hardly being able to hit a golf shot. It does look at the size of these things. Anyway I am I blaze down to banff. It's four hours away. I got a friend who got married and at the Banff Springs Hotel which is one of the most iconic hotels in the world. It's got it's been around for one hundred years. It's absolutely beautiful beautiful setting and so I went down for the wedding and I thought it's about seven thousand dollars a night Steve to get a hotel room in banff. Ooh I said no not doing that. I'll just go down and back I'll just nip that drive down a back and fuck me leave. The party went down and I had to get up at like seven because the reception was at twelve thirty and then in the afternoon and excuse me the dinner at five or six or whatever time it was so I get down there just in time and then I fell asleep in a chair Stephen Lobby between the reception and the dinner. So I'll take the general try nip out early but my seat was right in front of the head table. You can't get a whistle. I had designs on a couldn't get away. Couldn't get away so here we go. I'm I feel okay. You know I start to wake up at night and nine thirty or ten. I left thinking well zip down here in just under four hours. Stevie but Dr One twenty. The roads were bare. Knows nonstop to fly in there. It's a little different Steve. When you're a little tired and it's pitch black and it's snowing so that makes the drive a little different coming home into about five and Change. Yeah. I don't know what time I got. I got an at four Jillian o'clock. Am or whatever. I don't think that's a unit of time at all. I Love I love wedding Stevie I love. I love weddings. Couple things here though people. Okay no babies at the wedding right. Okay please. Can we get a center? Can we get the concierge to fix us up with someone okay? The people bringing the babies to the wedding. I told the girl going. You know what he's he's not liking this at all okay. I told the mother he's nine different. Little Good Little Larry. David you just say anything. Yeah thank you know. They're showing the baby off turning baby around and make sure you can see the baby and all that and I'm like okay. That's fine for you and by the way we've all seen babies before. Okay Steve like the mothers with the look at. I have a baby like you're GONNA go. Whoa Oh my God. I've never seen one Steve. That's unbelievable thing with the two arms of the two legs and laughing and spitting up and crying incessantly at a wedding at eight o'clock at night going well. I don't know what's wrong then. The mother going like this so you know. There's clapping gory. I put it up on Look instagram or twitter. This kid finding fell asleep and then I happened to catch those shooting this via the baby. I happened to catch it right when this thunders applause broke up broke out the baby with just like almost jumped right out of the mother's arms it's hilarious. You got to see the baby like got electrocuted. Almost it's true. It's just like this kid wakes up but the mother you know showing the kid around and all that stuff and they don't know it's not a place for the babies leave you know. It's I mean you. Obviously I accept that babies are going to be brought to places. But if you're really honest with yourself and you're given a choice at any public function if you have a choice would you say? Yeah we'd love to have crying baby there. That'd be fantastic. Bring them along. If you have a choice you'd always say no matter if it's a wedding or something else you always say. Yeah if you left him home that I'd be good with that sure. Yeah exactly. Let's be and that's the other thing with young couples and we were young. And you know you and I had firstborn child and our wives and stuff we all think as we have our first child that we're the first couple's ever that's ever had a baby to your point about you know showing your baby off. You know you have to kind of just roll with it. Now that you're a little older and you're all past that and you you've been there done that you have to kind of give them the benefit of the doubt and say okay fine. Yeah it's beautiful. It's the best baby I've ever seen. GotTa go yeah. Yeah it's like it's like up. How about this mother? I think you would have enjoyed yourself a little more. Just this just into show the kid off right. And here's the other thing Steve. So I'm sitting right beside the and I'm meeting my soup right. I'm going well. This soup smells like baby. Shit and sure enough Steve. I do the math. You know. Listen your kid has taken a shack gear. Okay GO CHANGE THEM. Right and take your. I didn't know or they just didn't care. They just pretend they don't know. It stinks like shit because the baby how to shedding. Yes your soup yes. Yeah yeah right behind while the soup doesn't smell very it's fact smells like Shit. Oh that's because form across the board is with that is that's gotTa stop. That's because there's a baby three feet from you. Who took us yet after the show you and I just sit down and have a strongly worded email to the couple that did that. Yup ruined the experience of that wedding for me. Thanks very much nice people. Great wedding beautiful setting. Get some good stuff for you coming up. Out of the Carlson was never never the same after methodic left and And this is it's a love of 'cause I put basically. I copied mark method on and put his twitter handle in the midst of this pole. So probably everybody is going to be on their best behavior Though there wasn't much to not like about mark thought ric. AC rights mark has been nothing but class quality guy. Hi Quality Family. He brought a stabilizing influence to the Sends D. If he does retire you'll be on the radio or TV as soon as he wants. Yeah he would be Excellent in that regard great communicator. Really interesting guy to listen to Couple more and then we'll call it a day on this one p Johnson. His memory is how MMA thought did not beat the snot out of Sidney crosby when he ripped his finger off with a slash. That was gross. House Sidney crosby basically slashing thought on the glove I guess in a real vulnerable spot and so basically The top let's say his index finger from the top knuckle upward was just dangling off. It was gross. In fact he went over in like showed it to him. What the what are you doing doing? So so that bad boy up always well And deter them go this one twin dad. His mentor ship for E K. Carlson said the Taliban when he and my thought were weren't paired together. There was a noticeable change without E. K. performed. I have to agree with that because Carlson is the happy wanderer and not every. Stay at home defenceman. You can do their own job and a little of their partners and that was what my thought always did really well. He was never a guy that was going to jump up into the play. That much Defense was is his game first and foremost and he always managed to do his GIG and Carlson's as well defensively so tend to agree with most of the feedback. We got today on the RB Computing Web Pool as.

"Cherry so hey novelist Don Cherry of listened to my first podcast and Well number and I don't mind that what else what else is on here and I said well you might want Steve Warne. Project might be a good idea and then my time line filled up with people who had listened the Don Cherry Shell and they said he did tell some great stories in the first episode so Good for him I'm I don't think he's sin was such that he needed to be the You know shutdown silence for all time so I think it's nice that he's got another opportunity a chance to have a pulpit and and continue to be Kinda part of the hockey. That's great and listen. He's going to be a go to guy for sports writer. Steve He is going to be. There's going to be stuff that happens. A Ah there always is every week dirty. Hits you know guys guys getting sent down guys holding out guys spitting in the face of another. The Guy People are going to go to say. What's what's grapes going to have to say about this you I would? I would so for sure okay. So we'll see how that goes and Keep an ear on that particular podcast as the weeks. Progress and see if that Is Anything that well continues to be successful. or whether it's you Sir uh I can speak from that perspective like when I got laid off we had this thing up and running within a couple of weeks of my termination and I I I know that sort of sense of all this energy like I wanna you know. Part of the part of the reason you do it is because you wanna stay in the game you you WANNA keep This this passion. Can you have for broadcasting alive in this neat opportunity to be able to do that but You do hit a wall like say two three months in I hit a hit a wall briefly. Going okay to WanNa continue doing this every single day and got through that and now it just feels like part of the day now and So we'll see if don Don Cherry hits that same kind of wall in the next And he's eighty five after all think. That wall is more likely to happen for a guy his age. You might just want to say came the. Maybe that's why it's only twenty six minutes. You know those guys eighty five. "Podcast it's your daily blast of sports in whatever my name is Steve Warne Jim Jerome with me and we are assisted on the play with a sweet saucer ended up things are fine man how great thanks it's you can sign up for the Patrie on age yet what is it five or ten bucks the option there's there's a bunch of different levels you can get in as low I believe as two dollars seventy five cents two dollars and seventy five cents okay you can get in as as low as nineteen seventy four packages smokes nice yeah you could you could you can get in for to go one of those old cigarette machine stevie didn't smoke but the big toggles on them this giant machines vending machines for cigarettes. You pump the coins in rip those things and then you pull this we can talk about you know about about two feet you gotta roll I remember those remember those yeah my dad was a hardcore Belvedere smoker back in the damage smoke in these days but yeah yeah every once in a while you know let me put the money in and pull the lever I was like this is cool yeah I'm thinking back to those days says I've always looked at two things twenty dollars twenty dollars back then got me a carton of cigarettes and a case of beer twenty four twenty four beer not shabby smoke carton of smokes now would be eight packs fifteen per so there's one hundred one hundred twenty dollars eight five hundred fifty five and been paying that close attention story one twenty one twenty for a carton of smokes and twenty four beers is at fifty bucks I don't know two four beer you can get them as you can get them as low as like high twenties go over to Costco or something like that get him for a bucket beer okay but yet goes up to forty forty five bucks so that's a hundred so that's one hundred and sixty five dollars here's what was twenty dollars boy there's inflation Steve the salaries have gone up equally right exactly so vending machine I recall and hated the most still hate because they still exist today and you once in a while with see cigarettes vending that way is that stupid coil effect just with what are they gonna fix that with those not stress you out I refused he when used them anymore because I think my batting average on those things is around five hundred I'd say one out of every two I would get and then the other would be jammed up in the dreaded coil they all jam up no one is that exists still who's looking at okay there's a design flaw here I think we can all agree on that you got this coil system that really should only have some sort of circle snack Doc that would fit in there properly that'd be the only one that would whatever come out okay the fact that the coil the coil digs in okay the coil digs I wanNA start to loop around digs into snack and holds it there chocolate bars don't look very good sitting in there they don't fit nope that's fine okay we'll go with the the the airfield stuffed bag of chips to just get up at all I think nothing will ever happen bad there take watch this put your money in here comes you spend what the chips are coming out near face here they come to come right toward you bang and they stop and they sit there like Sylvester stallone cliff hanger at the start of that movie he just hanging there what do you let go I'm sure there's gotta be a bunch of people who you own the machine for example or whoever you know I always think of the university the UNICENTER at Carlton there was a bunch of machines behind the wall of the snooker room where we played and every time someone would be standing there leaning on the machine waiting for the whoever the manager was that night to come down and open the machine give me Dole backer like so you got those people are going hey this machine is at work and it's it's a bit of a hassle and then you've got the guys whose stuff the needs you know who worked for hostess or whatever probably coming back to work each day going you know those chips don't fit very well and that coil okay stuff to today I did eight hundred ten bags of chips and all of them not working very well so well have you ever watched anybody they're going through the motions and if you know if three or four get caught up in the coil of death I think are generally okay with that it probably does probably not so much a design flaw as it is the guy filling it up just doesn't crap yeah it's like and then the other thing is usually one of the vending machines is super close to like a snack bar or something and there's an actual cashier there so you lost your money so you wander over hey can I get my money back just things the coil of death is got my bag of chips there like every single time nope not my problem buddy not my deal compare that Steve so these these these guys said you know what we this thing was cool the guy who designed this won the Nobel Prize in one thousand nine hundred eighty four for vending machine design okay that's a category you know about prices okay it was one that thing it's so good we're not going to change it over the next sixty years that don't have you been to as host Steve Have you been to a vending machine that does drinks does cold drinks okay all of them are plastic bottles now okay summer the cans some of the coke okay have you seen these freaking things I almost bywater Steve just to see it goes like summer from Nassau invented this now the machines there there's little little okay at the bottom and and you're looking at these these drinks going how's this GonNa Work Right you put the money in this the trade routes visit run up to the top visit grabs the bottle lies on the drapes down across and spits it out like this this is amazing and it's very entertaining and it's totally entertaining you know she'd be like some carnival music going along with it or something yeah finding it was the guy who said you know what we've been stuffing bottles in that L. Bag thing okay that doesn't work okay so this is the equivalent that the coil of death still exists as a vending machine it's the different live like if we still were sitting around watching TV with that giant TV remote that had a wire all those little white buttons on it or something like tat like that low that level of low tech. I mean it's ridiculous yeah totally yeah I got I don't know I go to uh you know I'm a I'm a Tim Hortons guy you know and I go in there and you can do everything on your phone right even even like some of those some of those other vending machines to anyway I bring I digress a little bit with the phone stuff you can run your day right from your phone start your car you can rush it off Amazon you can cook meals you can lock your house you can you know kick the dog all the Shit you can do with your phone is incredible you know ugh kicking up yeah but but something like airports stevie look at some of these vending machines they got going on right here yeah look at slide slide in your credit card here and you can buy a frigging beats headset you can buy some ear plugs for me you want some leads if you want unless you want to go for the two hundred dollar heads or it's crazy it's crazy shit you can get vending machine they seem to figure it out boys no coils you know it's funny because people will send stuff back from retro stuff I often see what's your favorite chocolate bar from back when you know malted milk bar six you know stevie all those other ones that were around you know so you arcades really we in arcade guy back in the day like just standard when video games were just coming out you pacman and all that and it wasn't like crazy people were lined up for the pacman machine I remember at Oliver's God yet right where the thing was laid flat screen was flat right didn't that was the first sort of spoil well that's good thank you but I mean I I grew up in Richmond Ontario and you in an arcade called shakes arcade so it had the standard deals had pool it had video games and Ed ball and the etiquette that I never quite got was I beyond their I'd be playing a game and I've got like my roller quarters ready to roll and so I take my quarter and put it in and before you even start playing some of the Little Schlep rock comes sidling up beside me and goes puts his quarter down right on top of the machine and that automatically means he gets to play after I'm done this game and like I don't think so sir I don't know what I don't know maybe this is some sort of arcade etiquette but I have no interest in following along I've got a roll of quarters here and I'm going the town right yeah that was a pool move that was a bar bar pool move right where you put your you put your looney up your quarters or whatever it was back in the day Yep you're playing a guy the winner stays on it's like an old western right what yeah I'm one here take me on all right that transferred to pinball and video games too yeah I'm the same if I'm playing that thing I fuck Outta here get Outta here yeah I'm playing this thing what if the laundromat or something I'm getting the Duvivier or something Washington and I've got ten of them to do and some Schlep rock comes up and in that quarter down or something like no I don't think so back away I don't care if people I used to do the laundry Mat Steve and I sat down for a second I was loading my machine separate the whites from the Color Steve and I turn my back for one second and some guy just took it upon himself to throw his shit in there at the same time oh I might as well do it together let's not oh no you look like you come from the planet of the fucking dirt you're not get away from me okay planet of the dirt same with hot tubs and stuff people jump into hot tubs like I feel like I'm having a bath with you now now all are now the duck that's on our bodies we shared in this in this cesspool it's the same thing that you're sharing closer you're throwing your underwear in their God knows where that's been I know exactly where that's been and now it's not all your stuff's getting on my stuff I don't care if it's going to rinse away later it's the principle of the thing and that applies to hot tubs to I'll tell you a fantastic caught up story of other berry whose everyone's come to love over the last fifteen years and she died in two thousand twelve she was eighty years old and of course and those are from the show she became a superstar on Friday mornings..

I like to look back and I I see a little message under under that post the little the the envelope one on Steve that I'd like to go to not just not just oppose flip on there and it's after I read the post actually from from from some girl who said when she saw the picture. There's the hot gym that I remember. Oh My oh my stevie. Oh Bowel Bowel. Yeah anyway ended up ended up. You know she was telling me you know we hung got a little bit back in the days. When I guess one thing led to another Steve this whole forty years I back in the day or now know back in the day St Back. She's often married now and all that stuff but I said. How do we know each other? She goes well how could you I forget. I said well. It was forty years ago anyway. She was saddened by the fact I didn't remember Steve. You spent a special special night together and you forgot I I. I remember every moment like that like in the past I was trying to regroup. I was trying to figure it out. I I was impressed arrested. I remember the cars you days in cars. Do know in go-carts do no. Nope nope that's Gary Numan. These are the cars uncommon to stand in. They just what I needed. One of my absolute favorites upstairs at the Richmond arena many many parties upstairs there you play hockey and go upstairs and joined the fray and that was an absolute favorite anyway. The lead singer of the Cars Rick O. Casick went onto a bit of Solo career as well passed away today. That was very sad news Eddie money famously for this song. Ask Yeah and also take me home tonight and a bunch of others. He passed away as well so a tough few days. "Steve Warne contact sports and whatever everybody welcome to the show. I'm your host Steve Warren. Jim Jerome is our in Studio Waldman. Thank you for clicking and clicking play that is and continuing to share Aaron like show daily. Blast of sports talk in whatever coming up on the show today. Ottawa senators camp opens up as we record this today Bianca's pump because she she finally hears back from Drake Bruce Cassidy good auto avoid their resigns as head coach of the Boston Bruins and the Antonio Brown ongoing saga continues and it goes from well annoying to flat out disturbing all still ahead on episode one one six of the WPA the up podcast assisted on the play by Jim Kaye Ford rb computing all Insurance Ontario Popeye supplements and here is Jim Jerome Jimmy. How are you Steve Oy. I'm all good. I'm all in. I'm doing fine. How are you I'm good. Can I issue a quick apology to the good listener yes in the ending to our last. I episode remember you mentioned because we're talking about Columbia. House records that mail order record Jeez to get back in the eighties you mentioned that you had a Helen Reddy album that you accidentally Bentley bought from the club. When you were a kid yes and so woman hear me Roar Steve. I am woman hear in numbers too big to ignore and and in the editing process. I said you know what I'm going to slip in a little. I am woman by Helen Reddy in the background and it was mostly to mark you but I left the the volume like at eleven on a scale of one to ten so the last forty five seconds of you and I talking away is like all Helen Reddy add like Kosei eleven just blaring no-one could hear a word we are saying at the end so I fixed it quite early on this morning. I replaced the file but for some reason it didn't take on the android right apps out there so my apologies to that for the android users and listeners. I am woman hear me roar Steve. If she wore it yes she gave she gave it a rock and a UH also Steve Retraction because they question do on this a couple of times. I said it doesn't make sense and and I said I don't believe it when you said to me. The Trivia question was who is the first Golfer to make a million bucks okay and it happened happened in one thousand nine hundred fifty five. It was Arnold Palmer Day because he turned ninety yesterday or the day before Yup right and I said how can you make a million bucks in nineteen and fifty five sure enough stevie sure enough. Ya One thousand nine hundred seventy was the first PG player to crack a million dollars always but for the good listener they wouldn't have known that Arab because I edited it beautifully and made myself sound fantastic no we're I hadn't. NHL Trivia your question lined up for the show but because we were talking about Arnold Palmer I thought okay I get something on the fly. While Jimmy's recounting the day that he caddied for Arne and lucky me I found a website through Google that was absolutely full of Shit. Ah I see some pretty neat idea a while ago which is funny and it came out of people correcting acting mistakes on shows on radio shows so you know I would say it's on our show and then there'd be an email there just just to clear up a couple of things that Jim said said they were completely wrong so now I see other shows Dan and what's his face on TSN Dan Jan Jan Dan. I don't know if they still do it but they had a little two minutes at the end what mistakes Jane Dan make during the past hour of run show pretty funny. I was thinking if we did that. That would have to be about a twenty minute segment. It's a second podcast really I really would vote. Well we used to do a contest called fixed the facts and it was one of our more popular contests when we were on TSN and and it will just basically throw it obvious errors. There's and people will have to identify them as I I'll read a biography on. I Dunno Daniel Alfredsson and the end of it there'd be there'd be at least one fact in there that was wrong and people who have to fix the facts. It's an adage really it's. It's a famous thing that uh talk radio. Guys have always talked about or radio people in general if you ever wonder if anybody's listening to say something wrong you'll know is immediately isn't that you're just make a mistake. That's funny so stevie. I put a my townhouse. has an attached garage a little touch grudge so obviously there's a door from the garage into the House and I've got these two cats steve that I I hate cats Steve. I always have hated you've. I don't like them and let you single I. I don't I'm single. What do you mean you don't. Have anybody answer to if you hate them then. Give them away well. I've had them too long now. Though I've I've had them too long and they've renovated my whole play. Stephen I bought it almost ten years ago and then a couple years after that I got cats and the really effectively Steve. My townhouse is one big cat condo play area. Okay they have torched the place they have. There's there's strings of carpet hanging all over the place off the stairs and they've they've scratched their way to the bottom of the hardwood where I do have carpet to get in rooms. They throw shit on the wall Steve. I don't know how it gets there. I have no idea why when they get their little litter boxes. Go like doc full digging for a bone and throw litter everywhere right so and and I've never put them out in the garage so I put the garage door on Steve. The little cat door a little pet door sure you you know you cut out a hole in your door. Neha you had this little thing that has a flap and so the cats can go in and out okay so what happens with these little these little pictures they pissed to Steve. Okay around my house. not not in the litterbox like Oh. No they anywhere they want. Steve Anywhere they want and that's that's that's grounds for dismissal right. That's grounds for dismissal but I've had them too long. I can't I can't give them to anyone and I kind of like him. You know I grew to like them but but I hate them and EH works whether jerks and Steve They just WanNa be around you all the time and when I'm on my I do this from a table in my kitchen and they jump up there and they crawl across the keypad and and they're licking my hand in there fucking around with a microphone and everything and so I I would throw them them in the garage. Well we do this so now Steve. I put a category in there and so it threw him out in the garage this morning and I logged logged on to the next thing I see the two cats up on the table. I might be a bit of a mistake. I just did right so we've got what we got two more. You're listening Steve. I guess Nice so we got that going for us which is nice and when we come back on the show. We're going to get into some hockey talk. As we record cord this podcast the Ottawa senators today kicking off their training camp so we'll kind of take the temperature of sense fans as we begin a new season. I want to remind everybody that we have some great sponsors that we'd love if you could support like Popeye supplements we all feel a little guilty after we found back a big giant bag of cheese during the big game but what if.

"Oh six meant in place in bells corners. We gotta talk about bianca baby. Andrea skew canadian teenager winning the rogers cup and she wished she becomes the first in fifty years. I canadian and fifty fifty years in pro tennis or intense rather to <hes> to win on home soil. How can you not be wildly impressed with bianca. Andrea skew she has has suddenly become <hes> everything that we hoped. Eugenie bouchard would become one day. It's fantastic start an absolutely fantastic small asterix. The final was forfeited by serena. <hes> <hes> you know bianca got up three one and i and serena pulled up lame. This'll be unpopular steve but again a feeling because serena's you know all the most successful tennis player ever in. We're in women's tennis <hes> if she doesn't have a shot here in the final steve you know she goes bad that in the beginning like she did. She may be more apt to say a forfeit. Instead of losing pulling the old michael johnson routine yeah against donovan bailey is our saying. I don't know i don't like pulling up. Yeah exactly exactly that's that's. That's what i'm looking at. I don't want to float something here that there but too late you've done it. I've done it. I begin to wonder a little bit. Take nothing away from this kid so if she wins the final on a on a forfeit by serena at three one of the first set but it's always kind of bugged me butter a little bit. You know if i can't win. I'm i'm not showing up. You know sort of thing. I don't know it made me think a little bit but this. I think that it's <hes> here's why feel on it because i don't want to take anything away by the way sort interrupt is. I don't want to take anything away from this kid what to get to the final no-one no-one forfeited. I don't think any other route that she was playing in so she got. She got all the way there. I mean a back problem. That's tough deal because i've had it before the same way she she did have like a can't move one day and then dan half later. I'm golfing a guy just back problems. Do come and go <hes>. I thought maybe a little melodramatic to be weeping at what for serena is a rank and file tennis tournament. You know i get it if you're one of the major one of the grand slams than you know but i had a hard time buying lying into the sea of tears coming down because she couldn't continue that was a little odd but okay it meant that much to you apparently the rogers cup and in canada <hes> you're but from the asterisk standpoint the bring up. I've got no asterisk. Whatsoever like is i. I feel that's part of it like the the rigors of getting getting through a full tennis tournament <hes> that's that's part. That's part of the process you know. I don't put an asterisk on it because that's a lot of tennis in a week period that these players have to play and if your body can't handle it that means you've been bested to some degree by your opponent yeah. I agreed so i'm gonna. I'm gonna go ahead and put that in. I'm not gonna put an asterisk beside her. I think that she wins it outright. I have no problem with that win and i don't think <hes> i think any less of it because of the injury now that said i'm really looking forward to a day when the two of them get together in an actual final. Maybe in grand slam. We're both both of them are a hundred percent yeah again when i say i don't want to take anything away well then what i should be doing is talking about how great this girl is. So if i'm bianca i wake up up in a bunch of people are talking about well. What if this healthy got no shot sorta deal so let's let's leave that aside right now and talk about how great she was. She played injured as well steve right. She had a problem. I think some sort of muscle he's been dinged up all year. Yeah a couple of things here steve in fairness ernest bianca serena's the tiger woods tennis <hes> and a lotta times. There were guys who got very impatient with interviews when they would win. Events twin tiger was in its heyday because the a lot of the interviews right away were were. What do you think happened to tiger you know and i remember someone going off tiger fox just for one second okay one second and we'll talk about anything else but tekere won the event for god's sakes and and that would be very similar to in this case here the other steve about this kid which is completely refreshing is how she handles herself in interviews and with the media. She's is fantastic fantastic. I can't put my finger on a complete you'd have to you'd have to listen to her her oppressors after she wins and our one on one interviews and stuff like that. She's just she's just fantastic. I can't say i totally agree and i thought they serena spoke glowingly ever after the event was over and she just seems like i saw it was c._b._c. National debt of one on one feature with her and the reporter that was interviewing they it was kind of fun. They were both hitting hitting a ball against a brick wall. The two of them just while they talked and she was just terrific across the board amid. She's not she's no stranger to when nice f bomb and indian well. She won the news conference and she's relatively new at this stage. You know to most of the canadian antennas media and she goes. I just fucking one at indian wells something like that. I remember that she also drop the bomb on serena and it was just a lovely way that she handled a bad situation. Serena is sitting off to her side and it's three one and she realizes she's not going to be able to continue and instead of like immediately jumping up and down bianca wanders over and has like like two three minute conversation with serena and almost like talking to her like she's her nurse. That's right okay <hes>. It's your back right. I know everything about you. Just been a fan of yours for so long. You're so amazing you're fucking beast and this is these are actual quotes like she. She seems like on top of being a wonderful tennis player. She seemed like an even better person. Yeah and what a what a coup for canadian sports right you when you look around when you look around these days <hes> it's a it's a great time to be a fan of canadian athletes. You know we just talked what about golf right. Corey connors and adam had we are going to move onto the next round of the fedex cup man that is elon accomplishment. We've got more canadian guys playing on the p._g._a. Tour <hes> you know you've got <hes> <hes> men's tennis show. You've got this other kid for montreal's playing thing <hes>. You've got role niche. <hes> you know on the girls side now you have have her you know even when even women's golf now. You've got brooke henderson. Alena sharp sharp is playing very well in the league tour so it's a great time to be a fan of canadian. I asked that question. That's maybe a good poll question for tomorrow brooke or bianca who is more impressing impressing you at such a young age yeah that's perfect. You know it's a great time to be a fan of sti the steve warne born project yeah well played sir. Well play project. Maybe we need to wrap up here. In a second here. I wanna talk briefly early about an interesting tweet from former ottawa senator president sierra leader <hes>. I wanna remind everybody that.

"Home. He's like, oh, the passion. Yeah. Okay. You're right. Yeah. Fuck I wanna go home and watch jeopardy anyway, they got to want it. And I and again to repeat myself. I don't think a lot of the superstar guys make good coaches because they really don't want it. It's really not that big a deal. We were talking about abrasive hockey players and ones that get traded away. Just to become such problem children. That is just and the team starts losing. And they get they get shipped out. Another kind of problem player is the player who is hated by all with the exception of his own teammates and exhibit a on that front Rod Marsh. And and I found it interesting that Marsh and said going into the playoffs couple of days for the playoffs began this year. He said, you know, what might try and tone things down a little bit. Like at this stage in his career. Can you see Brad Marchand even remotely trying to tone down his devious behavior out there? I heard a great quote from Rick talk at the other night in his post game interview. I think after the. Knocked out there right in the right in the verge of making it through the wildcard. If you're a captain on the team in you hear Brad Mars Marshall say that. I am saying I'm pulling him aside. Because in fact, what you have to do that that made you successful during the regular season. Is you're going to keep doing that and more. That's what you're gonna do in these playoffs. And they asked Rick talk. It what do you think happened this year? What did you see good? What did you see bad anyone on, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. What what he thought of what their strengths were in, you know, and and what they need to work on and his his main point at the end of it. When the guy asked him the question was the only way to win hockey games consistently is all the players have to be prepared to do something that's way out of their comfort zone. And I thought that was totally interesting. You you've got a what whatever that meant at the time. I sort of looked up. I said that's not bad. That's not bad. So you gotta do you. Gotta do the extra thing. Mark Messier when they're in the playoffs. The first time they get any called a team meeting in the locker room. And I was in there. As a matter of fact hiding around the corner just stock in some beers away. And messy said okay, we're going everyone after the practice today. Let's all go meet for lunch. So when he sweating wary spoke that was that was gospel, and Jeff Buca, boom, sort of I can't cat make it mess. I got a I got to pick up my family. They're coming in for the playoffs. I gotta get them at the airport. Mexico's yeah. No, no problem. Okay, boys. We'll see the rest of you. Just hang back. Hang back, blue Khwaja. I'd like to talk to you. And everyone leaves he shuts the door to the dressing you and says, listen, you piece of shit get over here. We're in if you don't want to win the freaking playoffs. Okay. Go. Why don't you go home? Why don't you meet you? I gotta meet my family at the airport. You know, fuck your family. Okay. Get rid of everything right now. He said I want to win a Stanley Cup. And you're in my way, if that's the way you're going to do it. So that's what I think Brad Marshall, that's a bad idea. That's a bad idea. I think the reason is thinking about it right now is because it's Toronto that they get in round one and. Toronto has its warts. But one of the things that has is just a tremendous power play not not just one. But the second unit is pretty damn good as well. And I think the Bruins have got to be cognizant of that you take a bunch of stupid penalties. Brad Marchand tends to his brain goes on Kabui every once in a while because he kind of gets in his head that this is how things have to go down. Now, you know exhibit. What he did to LARs Eller? I think it was back in the preseason this year where LARs Eller made a, you know, a funny little move toward Boston's bench after he had scored what would be the insurance goal. I think in that game and later on Marchand. Basically absolutely kills him in a fight like just bloody him. It's a mass. It's awful. And that's the Kabui side of Brad Marchand that if that guy comes out than Toronto is going to make him pay. And I think they're, you know, you don't want to take away the edge that the guy plays with what you wanna. Away is the stupidity that the guy sometimes place with well with with the good comes the stupidity. Once in a while. That's true. Thai feel about you James. Very Abobo drums in the choir words, your home with the aid count is down. He will not get up loves us. Think about. Anyway, people always watch the plants that started last night. And if you hear one thing consistently from fans, and and and watches of all the playoffs, and rabid rabid sports, guys is all of them say how come how come the regular season games can't be like a playoff game? And and that's what makes to me. That's what makes the playoffs. Really, really good. Really good. That guy does go out there, and perhaps a stupid, but crosschecks guy in the throat spears him in the leg a little bit dirty dirty play but normally not done during the regular season. But that's what it takes man Stevie boy to win the other reason in the regular season game. Steve is you'll see guy goes into the corn. And the guys they are. I gotta go in there and get him. You know, what happens is as they see over the guy's head in the corner through the glass, they see their Lamborghini out in the parking lot with their paycheck on the dead. I'm good. Here you go you take. Sorry. All right with that. We shall take our leave, my friend. I hope you enjoy the full master's experience. Now. Right. That's that's where I'm off to Stevie. I tweeted you see my picture of the springs that are gone in my coach from already watching masters two days. "Devon Bubis at the pool death at OB's that the movies that. I think those are the words to the game of thrones theme. I'm so pumped about the final season being here. NHL game of thrones is underway to the Stanley Cup playoffs. We're all curious who the best teams are who's gonna win it all and try and figure it out. We drag the old school stats the new school analytics, and those are certainly helpful. But this one predictor of success that very few people talk about it's not the be all end all but I think it is meaningful. It's one that believed in for a longtime even at the low levels of hockey that I've played San Jose Sharks. Head coach Pete Deboer. Brought it up this week in a discussion about his starting goaling one of the biggest intangible stats that there is in hockey. Your team's belief in your goaltender every goalie will get hot and every goalie will play well for stretches, but not every goalie earns the trust of their team anyone who's played the game knows that that trust. Is there you feel like he can do anything. But if you're skittish about your goalie man the entire. Team slumps. You can almost see it on the bench Faulk debut. Gotta make that save. That's a stat. I would love to have going into every hockey pool. But it's not available to the public. Maybe only the coach in the guys in the room. But probably the most meaningful stats that. No one can predict in this area. You know, nothing. No luck. Are you lucky with the officiating? Are you lucky with the bounces? We saw San Jose in game. Number two. They got burned on a really bad goalie interference call and a lot of coaches will say, yeah, that's garbage. You make your own lockout at there. There's truth to that. But once you have two teams squaring off that are great on paper that are working hard that are organized than lady luck often picks the winner. It happens in the Stanley Cup game of thrones. I'm so pump for that final season. And it happens. Probably the most in these one game showdowns turnament plays Canada found out losing to Finland in a historical upset at the world women's hockey championship. It all comes in many names potluck, the bad balances lay. Lady luck didn't get the breaks. If you love hockey, and you love a certain team. You gotta roll with it. The major reality that sometimes we'll punch you in the face. And there's nothing you can do about it. The rule of shit happens. Welcome to our show today. We're gonna talk a little bit more about the masters. We're going to get into a discussion of what the best time is to get rid of a problem player Tonio Brown. Mike Hoffman looking in your direction RAD. Marshon thanks is going to turn over a new leaf in this series of maybe less devious. These days you bring it back though, you're bringing scattered back. I'm bringing scatting back. What do you do? Steve. I get all excited. I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve. Of course, the message talking about this week and rightly so Steve, but I can't get to sleep. Okay. I can't get to sleep at night. Why not I've tried a ton of different things. What do you do the do you sleep? Well, I sleep very well. And if you want to know what I'd do if I'm having trouble sleeping, and I'm thinking about a million things in about a lot my mind lately. Obviously, I actually do a little meditation. I do know you don't. Yes, I do and meditation is people think it's all this big thing. It's basically focusing on your breathing and focusing on nothing else, but your lungs going in your lungs going out, just focus entirely on that. And then I find myself unconscious ram J. Hey. I went to meditation meeting one time I thought I'm going to try. This was a regular weekly deal five o'clock on a Monday come on Jimmy for the meditation thing, and they they sorta do sound like gymnasts these guys head up the meditation thing, and it's going to be they add a minute each week Steve to this silent, meditation, no music or anything. We're just gonna go silent. So the first time I went, I'm you're supposed to close your eyes. And you're supposed to sit there like the Maharishi with your legs all wrapped around your bag. How do you do that? Well, I'll show you Steve I'll show you X time. I see you. I can help you there. Hey, talking about the Lotus position is now at that is because I've never heard it described as wrapping one's legs around one's bag while they originally went for that when they return a pro promote trans and dental meditation and the guy said, listen, let's go teach everyone on a wrap your legs. Or on your back. And then they changed that to something called the Lotus or the down dog or the up Dogar. Right. Never caught on. Yeah. So it's whatever they do with all these. Anyway, I go to this thing. And the guy says, okay, no, gently close our eyes, concentrating, the breathing and Bing at the bell. And now we gotta go twenty two minutes without meditating or are. Well, we meditate I'm sitting there looking across the room. And all these guys are sitting there with their spine straight in the what you call the lowest position. And I'm I got my eyes closed. But this ain't work can Steve you, boy, I got sort of crack one eye open look around at people, and and they opened my eyes and it's not working. It's not work. So I close my eyes again, and I fell asleep. See let's not bad at that's falling asleep. So I'd said I love this because I do not sleep. Very well. I'm a terrible sleeper. I've been up my whole life can't get to bed. So. The next week. I brought a pillow in a blanket and a roll up sort of little matches. And everyone's sitting at this table. I did I came in like I was going. I king with all my stuff. And the guy was looking at what's going on? Anyway, rings, the bell. Will I just unroll the mattress again my blanket, and I had my pillow, and then the then the kicked me out 'cause I snort so badly.
