Parental Burnout with Dr. Meghan Owenz

"I think taking a breath and recognizing that the amount of stress that we're dealing with is abnormal as a society both from the election two murders that we had to witness and honored to be educated about and advocate about to a global pandemic to losing family members to worry about losing family members that level of stress. You know it's been our our nervous system in a place that it's not meant to be for a long period of time and you could see that in terms of how we've handled the pandemic as a society right so in month one were like flat mccur. We've got this really excited about everything we were going to do. At home and bt months or so later we just don't have the energy anymore at at the same level and our children's still do not have the opportunity to be vaccinated and there's a lot of controversy over what's the best way to keep them steve and just navigating through all that information is is exhausting. And just like you said you can kind of make it work for a while. I mean i can only relate this because my children are young and they don't need that kind of for me. They're all adults now. But i can only relate it to times where for some reason you know. Children were sick or it was raining and raining for weeks and it was harder to do the things that we normally wanted to do. And you can handle that as he said for a while you can rise to that occasion as a parent and say okay. Well maybe we'll do the screen thing now because you're sick and i need you to rest. I can go get you some stuff for new projects that you can play with but after a while. It's like the special time that was. I mean special not necessarily in a positive way of course but that's old we didn't know where we're gonna have to maintain it this long right right and so being able to take a breath and recognize that this is not a normal amount of stress likely that many parents have been under in the past year. And a half. And then figure out where you are on that sort of hierarchy of needs in her family. If you're still in that meeting basic physical needs scrambling making sure that you're able to do your job and your baby is fed and that's all you can do. It might be the time for reflection on your parents

Steve hilton said that was a very powerful image to see. President trump with a bunch of first responders while president biden is being heckled and booed and even trolled by little kids wearing trump hats. I thought steve hilton's commentary on fox. News was pretty profound. There was something that happened this weekend. I don't know why it just really put it really sort of pointed up. The contrast i think between what we've seen from biden and the white house over the past few months or so and what we had with. President trump is this picture with president trump. on nine eleven. He chose to spend with the police officers and fire department of new york. And just really look at that picture. Something about that photo of him drink there. I don't know what it is. "Firming topic today. We're doing a global tour of bitcoin who's embracing this disruptive digital gold this proto money system. Let's start by doing a quick revisit to el salvador on tuesday's show. We discussed some of the controversy leading into el salvador's bitcoin day. The formal enactment of their bitcoin legal tender law on surprisingly and continuing the themes that i was just exploring the gladiatorial battle on twitter continued throughout the day professor. Steve hanky who has really really tried to use. This crypto cycle to jump to the very top of the bitcoin antagonist list. Just would not shut up about it. I mean we are talking about ten twelve separate tweets many which said the same thing over and over. Here's a good example contrary to president. Bu kelly's unfounded claims el salvadorians do not want. Bitcoin is legal tender. The only ones who applaud are criminals. They know that the bitcoin law paves the way for rampant money laundering and corruption. This is one of those arguments. Where as soon as you even dine to make it. I look around at myself. Everyone that i know. Who's working in this industry. All the people that i know who are connected to this industry all the people who are in places like asante who have proven over the last few years how. Bitcoin has relevance for community like el salvador. And i mostly just stopped listening to what you have to say. Because you're clearly not in it for an actual conversation. And yet he continues. He tweeted at least three times about bitcoins. Volatility bitcoin nineteen percent to a twenty four hour. Low of forty two thousand nine hundred and twenty one per bitcoin today to queens volatility is an obvious reminder that it can never be a reliable unit of account and thus can never be used as a currency. Btc is nothing more than a highly speculative asset. Naib kelly's bitcoin law will do el salvador. Never mind his careful use of hash tagging on. Bitcoin and btc gotta make sure. Everyone sees his angry tweets. Professor hanky also hated it when president. Bu pele bought the tip and made fun of the imf all in one tweet saying buying the dip one hundred and fifty new coins added. It appears the discount is ending. Thanks for the dip. Imf we saved a million and printed paper el salvador. now hold five hundred fifty bitcoin.

Using 'Tiny Habits' to Enhance Your Life and Relationships

"I like about was a metaphor. Dr fog uses a lot is a behavior is like a plant. You take a little seed in the clinton in space and you care for it and it starts to grow and probably the place is not good and it doesn't grow as well as you'd expect it so you can take it out and planted in different spot and then keep caring for what i like about this whole philosophy. If you will is that there are no mistakes It's it's a free flow chart so you can always go somewhere. You're stuck so if something doesn't you go and tweak a little bit and then you experiment and you find a way to implement behaving wanting permanent so it. Every behavior has basically a prompt so something that reminds us to do an ability so we can do physically mentally or however and the motivation. We want to do it. And if we have huge motivation we can do hard things. If we have lower tuition we can only do like easy things or we'll just skip doing. If we don't have a prompt we will not remember. It's just like we can have a few huge mitigation inside and we can do it but we don't have a prompt and we'll just like not doing not most probably so this is an we see that in the millions of times that people say oh i you know i should he exercising or i should do more exercise or i should eat better or i should be working on my project or i know a yeah. I should make date night more by priority. But i'm tired

Poll released today both have city council member. Michelle woo polling. At around thirty percent they also have this cluster of acting miracle janey an council members and ib george andrea campbell. Really tight together for second so the first question does it mean that wu has her place in this preliminary election solidly in hand. Well i think we did. Nothing's certain you know nothing solid until everything's over you know that's one thing i mean. Just a fact about municipal elections is that They can change much more quickly than say a partisan election. you know. there's no republican. There's no democrat on the ballot. There's no kind of mental shortcut. People can take to where there's only one candidate that's anywhere near my as a voter my ideological space. So i'm definitely going to choose this one. You know in municipal elections. There might be three or four candidates that you're still choosing between so you know certainly you would like to be michelle Michelle lewis campaign given the numbers that that are the way they are. Nike CEO John Donahoe's Lessons on Servant Leadership

"What star. John rains that i am most associate with you. Which is servant leadership. And i'd love if you could describe your philosophy on servant leadership especially try to conceptualize it for much smaller organizations. What does it mean to serve leader as a ceo of a bunch of ceo's around the table how should they think about how that philosophy conform away they run their business so when i talk about servant leadership. It's frankly the the way. I learned to lead because i actually learned the lead in partnership a ban where you aren't really empowered to do anything to you have to earn the respect and the followership of others. You guys don't have that as founders. But i do think you'll find that. Many of the best leaders exhibited the principles servant leadership. And i just say how do i serve serve. The purpose of the organization serve the customers served. The employees serve the communities in which we operate in a jim collins called at level five leadership other people call from things. But it's when someone it's not about the leader it's about what it is. We are trying to accomplish right and some of the antithesis of what's hot silicon valley at different times the narrative. Always around the all-powerful founder. They're all powerful leader. And i think there's actually very few examples where that actually great sustainable companies come out of that my leadership role model for large parts of my career with phil jackson of the chicago bulls. Now it'd be steve kerr for your younger and would always struck me. He was able to do is get people who actually were better than he was klay. Together he got michael jordan. Scottie pippen dennis. Rodman caster characters to win six championships. It got shack kobe to play together. You look at you. Look at steve kerr the warriors right. Now he's getting. Somehow he's getting steph curry klay thompson and kevin durant andrew mongering all vying to something greater and they win i view with how do you build high performance teams of top talent to win and servant leadership is part of it.

"Well. Guard. You'll be putting together as he always does sort of a best of part. That allows you to Get what we hope would be considered the. And perhaps occasionally the lights. Of the program early we discussed the fact that a group of American pediatricians are putting the heat on saying that kids need to go back to school in the fall talking about public school education and I thought that was an important part of the discussion and intriguing part of it today as well. I mentioned before the break. The last heinous act. By Jeffrey Epstein of so many the disgraced financier and sex offender. Two days. Before his jailhouse, suicide or murder take your choice. He put or had put more than. Five, hundred seventy seven million dollars in assets into a trust fund. That has made it more difficult for his dozens of accusers. To collect damages on top of the behavior itself. He gets one last shot in. To make it more difficult for them to get his money after he abused them to the degree that he did I mean that's that's evil upon evil pretty much, and that is part of what's discussed. I think in the last part of the Special the documentary on Netflix, so we talked about called filthy rich. Did you say yes filthy rich? which I think is relatively new. Is it came out in May? Look okay, okay, that's that sounds. About right. And we're all talking about this again. Because his girlfriend Maxwell's her last name has been arrested. and. That has led of course the obvious speculation about. If you buy the conspiracy theory that he was, he was silenced. Before he could talk. Well! My she be able to talk. And might she name some names and go much further? If also she is given a chance to to live, we already have some gallows humor via the Bradshaw Brian Inbox from people wanting to predict. Deadpool dates. There, wishing death upon Maxwell, but I think they're wondering if there's any reasonably that she will survive if you buy the the the position that. He murdered himself. There are a lot of suspicious things about how that went down. I don't think it necessarily means that he didn't kill himself. But. By all accounts, the security broke down and was very unprofessional. On a number of fronts I think that has been concluded by number of investigations as well. Will we ever get to the bottom of that story? I ain't. Exactly sure. We are both taking tomorrow off. It's a best of third of July edition of bumper-to-bumper. 'CAUSE we're getting most of the hockey season. Yeah, historically he has been, and we had usually cut it off at some point usually after the wild were eliminated from the playoffs. Yes. But now he's mostly just there as a catch up. It's like a catch up every week and there's hockey stuff that we've gotten into and there's life stuff. And he got heated on the mass controversy last week, which was good for both of us towards the end of the show that call after that call he was, he was honest and I was steamed. Yeah, he. Absolutely an he's. He's a twitter observer. WHO's capable getting Steve There's no question. About twelve, thirty five on Sunday as he usually is emailer Dan a great interview with the judge off the road, when he discussed the need for the court system and focus on the service, the community small business owner I spent my share time the court system to be intimidating frustrating, demeaning unfair. That's silly, zero recourse in many instances, additionally the people that work in the system. System extremely difficult to deal with. It seems as if the culture within not only court system of virtually all government entities is very negative, common sense and civility of virtually never applied interactions with people that community. It's nice to hear someone in a position of authority and influence recognizes for what it is. Thanks for having him on my mask is on and my gun belt is. Tight. "Mac Hughes. So you get the card. The scorecard comes up. birdies five the last five holes on the front nine. Okay. He makes to force only okay on that Sean that thing. For two, four, five, three, three, two, three three finish on the front nine choose twenty nine. Okay, anyway underneath it now, Stevie, they break it all down. The round breakdown eagles how many birdies bogies doubles. Driving distance putting all that stuff for a guy like me I. Like it, you know most people would say. That's a little too heavy, but. Anyway crazy around crazy around totally and the funny thing about it is that had he gotten the fifty nine? It wouldn't even have been the course record. Like this it Jim Furic. That's where he shot his fifty eight, the very same par seventy TPC river highlands course four years ago, we find a fifty eight lowest score in the history of the PGA tour. And and Hughes had he had a fifty nine. That would have been kind of funny that it wouldn't even be the record on the course. What you forget, okay, because I I watch golf every weekend when it's on what you forget is how frequent tough the golf courses are that they're playing. You know like it's the rough is up the fairways or narrow. It's fucking over seven thousand yards. The Greens are. Fast, they're undulating tons of bunkers. It's just like if you saw one of these. If you went to play one of these courses Steve, okay if you played of course on the PGA. And you played the same ts okay. You would immediately be Unin joying yourself not enjoying yourself Unin joining Steve There's word he would immediately behaving golf, and saying this is this is like the toughest thing I've ever tried to do. Oh, you play the euphoria. Play one of the local courses. You know you're you're looking. You're on the T. and you're looking at the fairway and you think Oh that looks a little tight It's like, but it's like a hundred and fifty yards wide right right where you comparative to you know what the PGA get dealing with like you know half the width, and if you by the way aren't on the fairway, you're in jail like the roughest soon and they just they just make it look so easy like put things in perspective. What a great threesome! It was in round one of the tournament Phil, Mickelson Rory mcilroy Bryson Cambo. Shambo was the worst score in that three semi at a sixty five. Yeah come on. Yes, it's unreal, so lots of golf. Talk in there for those who are not golf fans. The people around these parts are very stoked about the NHL. Draft Lottery. It is scheduled for Friday. You can throw one pick six in the game's over and then being position to have a final winning drive in doing it got to give them a thumbs up. No now at what point this was doing. Four for Tanna all right and then I guess the question is. Where's that so we can is the beginning of that Kansas City defense data Atas since then since that game? So that's the game. We're still saying that they hadn't turned may not hurt. Concern is Derrick. But how do we know how do you what we don't and how do we know he didn't get banged up in practice the next week and it felt like one long injury but it was was he aggravated it. Yes all right and then Tennessee ran the heck out of the ball. Yeah Derrick Henry had one hundred eighty eight yards. I will say with about ninety seconds left. Kansas City's you you know. Win Probability was ninety five percent yet they lost the game Lucchese. What does that say? Why think it was a little misleading? Because a lot of people on reading all week while Tennessee he had great success against Kansas City. And the first meeting I had great success offensively regardless so however the end of the game went to to have a in this game in that game was let me see at Kim. Let me see this game was in Tennessee. Yes okay thirty five. So maybe this speaks of the total hold on Exactly because I wanNA play under in this game. Thank you thank you could have been thirty thirty one or thirty two but now twenty nine good and we know for a fact. Tennessee knows how to gashing. "Handsome inciteful information in regards to the iran situation we were talking about friday morning said this situation this is about more than u s iran relations fox news did a story couple days ago about how i read would use their militias and proxies in arab countries to cause difficulties for the u._s. and arab countries some of the analysts estimate that iran has close to one million combatants in various militias spread throughout the air of world now steve there's always been conflict between the arabs and the persians aka iran as well as your shia muslim versus your sudi muslims the air absurdities would love for america to rid them of the persian she is many of them hope for military action rather than sanctions and rigging arab countries of iranian influence one step at a time see iran needs money to counter american efforts these sanctions are denying them that money iran's currency is in a free fall people are becoming restless iran knows there's always money available to fight wars though thus A war with America would be good for them. The US is winning over Asian and Europeans in sanctions. So now Iran is desperate for a military confrontation. but shutting off the flow of oil to the strait of moos would actually create more enemies from iran and could create a change of energy flows favoring the united states as for uranium enrichment somebody's going to have to furnish the raw material or iran's going to have to admit they have a stockpile which would be a treaty violation president trump has to somehow convince iran that he's sticking to his current strategy but american forces in the region especially in arab countries will be vigorously defended Now we've got a Senator young here in Indiana. The wanting to cut off arm sales to the Saudis because of that journalist that was killed. and the way saudis are fighting iran backed rebels in yemen i've expressed my displeasure to senator young because we should welcome the new saudi regime that's willing to fight the terrorist rather than bribing them As happened with the old Saudi regime. interesting take and ponder for say so that would make a bit more sense because that's what yeah myself and so many others the same what what the hell is wrong what is iran thinking they wanna be a do they want to be obliterated You know, they know that they can't take on the United States one on one. But. When war breaks out things change. and typically iran would find some supporters backers thus money would be flipped although there's a loss of life they don't really give them about that they want the money all right with that we're.

"I've been dishing out the evidence the whole time in like he said like I see these things all the time. And everyone's like, you what? No, that's always tweet when he does that story about from Boy, George, right? We're boy George's. Like he came up. He ran across the room and grabbed me out of party. Like, how did he do that? How did he know? It was me or where I was. There's videos of him taking pictures at museums like specifically positioning the camera. So that it's taking a perfect picture. There's videos of him catching microphones Paul McCartney to this big. Hey, Jude performance, and he Steve there's a microphone accidentally knocked over and Stevie Wonder just catches it like just immediate like he's daredevil or something. So there's that what else am I forgetting kiva zip or anything else whether other pieces of evidence here. Why why would this be thing because you wouldn't know I mean improve his ability because he's a hack musician where it's like, hey, we really I don't think it's possible. It's also possible that he is extremely hard vision. But he can see a little bit, right? Also. I would like he's legally blind. But not yet fully visually impaired to the plumber is totally blind. I think that's possible the conspiracy element rob would be when he was little Stevie Wonder, and he was incredibly talented musician playing the harmonica and playing piano and doing the things that he did the fact that he was blind was like this this plus factor. It was something that made him stand out other than his talent. And it was it was a big part of his early marketing. And then you just keep up the story because you use it to get ahead. So you're just you're not going to say, guess what? I wasn't blind. This whole time that I'm not saying that I believe that. I was saying that. People that believe that that's how they answer. The what question is that? It was a plan initially. And then he got really successful. And you can't just walk it back and say, oh, I can see all of a sudden. So that this would be an easy one to test though. No. I mean he'd have to be in on allowing the test. I don't think you can be like, hey, come over and like help me pick up. Drake's today a room and throw him a baby easy to room in like he's about to his head on something. And then move out of the way, I kind of feel like that somebody must have tested this at some point well in the problem with some conspiracy theories, and this could certainly start to fall into that category. Is there created for batteries? Stevie Wonder is clearly one of the most successful musicians of all time. There's we shouldn't really do anything to undermine that..

Of course, he was trying to smuggle three syringes into jail by hiding them in his rectum. Now, he's facing a new charge for smuggling contraband into a correctional facility. So yeah, don't man just avoid it. Don't put things in your bud. Hey, you could cut and print that and send it out as a PSA. You can you can take that to schools. Those syringes could have racked up. Okay. Why do we keep talking about? Oh, I don't know what a source of confusion. How can we ever solve this mystery? Hang on. Let me go back to our outline syringe and rectum guy put in by Don. Maybe let's go the phones. Steve nine to noon on mytalk one zero seven one, everything entertainment. Suffering yesterday. And she said, hey, guess what? Alexis I signed up for an introductory class at club Pilates. And I'm so excited for her. I think it will be a wonderful workout for her needs. Dislike think it is for everyone. Because what I love about Pilates. And at club Pilates is that Pilates is for every body. And it's it is that way by design. What's great about club? Gladis is that each class? There's twelve stations for each person most classes, use the reformer, but there's other equipment. Some are more focused on stretching. And essentially and third grade location's convenient locations, the introductory classes free. I was hooked after I took my first class because not only do I like the small classes. But I love the instructors they helped lead the way so sign up for a free introductory class. At one of their convenient locations. Congratulations to Arden hills and Eden prairie who had their grand open. Innings last.

"It's really not nice. That's not what's that. You. It's the parties. You know, what's gonna happen? You'll be some federal judge in the Astra actual district will side with Trump. And then some like circuit court panel in the ninth circuit on the west coast totally out of jurisdiction. We'll just come in over the top with no standing at all say, no. And then someone at the weekly standard national review is going to write the column that says we must abide by what the federal court of appeal say whether they've got standing or not does smoke in zero us through you know, what's going on. Because. There's a process Steve. That's the best part about this after guy with no standing does the lecture the fundamentals of the lecture because we heard it on this show before Steve there's a process you gotta follow follow the process. There's they're broken air quotes Aaron conservatives. I got ninety seconds Daniel or less looks like there was a bit of a blue now that we're actually counting the votes, they're they're gonna get close to a forty seat gain here in the house. Are they not? She got understand. We've all said Democrats benefit from early voting. But it seems like the late voting. That's really the problem. Steve, look, I I was just thirty seconds. Go. I understand Republicans don't care about our values. But now the courts are determining who wins elections. And they just don't care look at the at the bottom line is this if one individual federal judge now has more power than Giardi the house and Senate in the president put together nothing Daniels next week moment.
