NJ State Sen. Ed Durr: No Bitterness so Far After Ousting Sweeney
"Senator have your colleagues been accepting of you I mean again you took out Steve Sweeney The guy was an institution in New Jersey Are there any bitterness from your colleagues in the state Senate in New Jersey Have they been relatively accepting None that I have shown so far I'm sure that some of senator Sweeney's friends are not exactly pleased As our Jersey saying goes it is what it is So I'm not too concerned with whether they're happy or not I'm just trying to work with them to make a better life for the people of New Jersey

It's Been a Great Week for Republicans AKA the 'Party of Parents'
"Start. This last week was phenomenal for Republicans. So last week was terrific in New Jersey and Virginia. Republicans won the Virginia House of delegates everybody. Statewide the Virginia, lieutenant governors raised Virginia governors race with junkin, the Seattle city attorneys race. They elected a Republican, the New Jersey state Senate president was defeated by a truck driver Edward durr even though. Steve Sweeney will not concede. He says, oh, there's thousands of ballots we're still defined. He's pulling his best Tony Soprano. Frank Underwood impression possible trying to declare a state of emergency to go find ballots. Republicans had momentum. We won everything you could possibly have asked for and then some. Republicans were riding high and they weren't riding high because voters showed up in record numbers and said, hey, you know, mister junkin, you know what we need? We need electric charging vehicle stations. You know what we need mister junkin? We need to go spend $1.2 trillion that we don't have. No. Mom's and dad showed up and they voted for Republicans in the first time in a decade because they sought was happening in their schools. Rural parts of Virginia showed up in record numbers at a higher percentage clip than they even did support Donald Trump and Republicans started to build this coalition. That was pro family and also anti leftist. That ran up against the power structures of the Central Intelligence Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the abuse within. Higher education, the public sector teacher unions Republicans finally seemed to have its groove for a couple days for a couple days we started to see headlines from CNN and Washington Post Democrats on defense, time to do a detox. And then you saw this Democrat Civil War begin of one part of the Democrat party start to say that we need to be we need to recommit ourselves to the party of parents and you had pramila jayapal worried that the Republican parties becoming the party of parents, which I'm going to say on this show until someone starts to listen to me, the party appearance is phenomenal

"On the Mike Gallagher show today. I mean, they made me drag me kicking and screaming into putting a sport coat on. I'm not quite there with the shirt and tie, but you are, and you look like a million bucks, my friend. Let's talk about a state you know and love. You're a Jersey guy, you're a Jersey, you're Jersey resident. First let's before we get to the rally campaign and what they're going to do, let's talk about the longest running state Senate president, New Jersey's Senate president Steve Sweeney is trailing his challenger Edward durr. Is it true that Edward durr is a truck driver who spent a grand total of a $153 on his campaign, Joe? Yes, it's all true. But I have to tell you Steve Sweeney is a great guy. Mike, I've known him for many, many years. De Sweeney is the head of the Senate. Sure. He's respectful guy. He's a Democrat, but he's a common sense guy. A common sense guy who really loves his date and he's a powerful is an iron worker. He's just a good guy. I don't know how this happened, except this is my theory, Mike. And by the way, to the truck driver got speed, go for it. We love it. It's a great story. New Jersey is pretty much run by political bosses. And I say this with respect and love for my steak. We invented pay to play. We invent the all corruption. They talk about Chicago and Georgia and everywhere else. We invented it in New Jersey. We know what we're talking about when it comes to those things in elections. Something's up with this, Steve Sweden situation. He was up against the teachers union. He's been attacking him. Also, I heard this morning on our show that it is big Donald Trump country in that area. So he had everything working against him all at once, but this looks to me like a political takedown of the head of the Senate and the great stated. But it's a but Joe, and with respect to your friend, Steve Sweeney, this is a red wave. There's a people saying enough we're saying no to Democrat policies. Deny that. That's absolutely right. And I love that it's a drug drawing. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. No, a truck driver, who spent a $153 on Dunkin Donuts and paper flyers over the course of his campaign, a $153 at a truck driver. All right, let's talk about the big race. This is down to the wire that should rally campaign to criticizing The Associated Press as they should for calling the race early. What's your take Joe on how this thing plays out? Will there be a recount? What's up with this razor thin alleged win of Phil Murphy as the New Jersey governor? It'll take a while Mike 'cause you know, back in 1981 even before all this nonsense started with the mail in votes and all the shenanigans started in 1981 between governor Cain and a guy named Jim florio. That was a good story to race. That was held up for 27 days in the state of New Jersey back then. We expect that to happen now. Jack's got Jack will go in. This is me speaking. I didn't. I didn't talk to mister generally, but we feel Jack is going to go in. He's going to demand to recount. He may come out of this. This is not over. It ain't over till it's over. You took Jack Chitra alley. He wasn't backed by the GOP nationally. No one came in to help him buy himself in the state. He didn't ask all these big celebrities to come in any big politicos on the Republican side to come in on his own by sheer grit and work ethic to really win in and we feel that he won because answered me this, Mike. And this is what when I study this and I layer it back on the radio now. I don't understand all of a sudden it looks like Jack one and we're going like, wow, talk about grassroots. Talk about red wave. Then all of a sudden, there's still the night last night, but the Democrats go, you know, we forgot the counts on boats in Bergen county. There might be some in Essex county. Yeah. Come on. Come on. It looks like we're done. They found these votes. Yeah. And all of a sudden they declare a Phil Murphy the winner. Well, just ain't over, Mike. The winner, and Joe, I love, I don't think it is over either. And I love the story about how the one ballot the one poll worker accidentally turned off the machines before the votes were counted. Oops. I mean, Joe, again, with respect to with respect to your state, it's not like New Jersey is incapable of some election shenanigans, my friend. I know somebody said, they had to count the votes by certain hours. And you know what the New Jersey guy said when they were counting the vote? Hey, look, look, I got a game. I gotta go. I gotta go. So they left they didn't count the votes. They left earlier. They left early shut it all down. Last person out, turn off the lights. Well, as I understand the way it works in Jersey Ed are Jack's got a request to recount, and then I guess the campaign as I understand it the way it works there, the person the campaign requesting the recount has to pay for the recount. Yeah, it's only like 25 bucks a district, though. It's nothing. It exorbitant, but yet and it'll take about the ten days. I don't think it's over. Even if by some chance that governor Murphy stays governor Murphy, this was monumental. It was monumental like you said at the Mike galliard. This showed how many people cared and then I found out I was talking to our mutual friend who our news guy who you know and love out in the morning show. And as said, you know how many people did not vote in Jersey roughly 4 million that were eligible to vote in the state of New Jersey did. Mike Gallagher, one day, I am fired up this morning one day, we're gonna awaken that sleeping giant. Those voters that don't show up and if they're in 4 million in New Jersey, just think of how many around the rest of the country because if they're gonna post your nanny. What happened in 2020? Middle of the night things change, wait a minute. You gotta just come on even greater and greater force when we show up. And we're not dumb, and we're getting it and we're learning what's happening now on the political arena. And you know what? We're ready to fight it. We're ready to fight at Mike. We can do it on a break. We're taking our country back, Joe Piscopo were taking Jersey back. We're taking the country back and God bless you for your great voice. Listen, do me a favor right now. Let's you and me spread a little love and share some love towards Mike lyndell because portions of the Mike Gallagher show brought to you by my pillow and with.

"Is we kind of we're tribal so the Democrats at least in the assembly aren't requiring him to turn over the data and when they don't do it in the media doesn't demand or should a good comedian trying to demand it through old growth I even Steve Sweeney the democratic president says well look we would appreciate if you could give us your basis for that statement in order to not us versus them what it let's be transparent let's understand why you're not opening bars in Cape May workers grin no no cold feet nineteen interactions too old saying is I'm not overseas let's have the information let's have a public discussion about it and then people can make a decision whether the governor's right or wrong right now the data is visible we can't get it I totally agree and all you have a long day for as long as you've been on is to just get everybody the four people in a room and be able to talk things out and this is another example why is it the restaurants couldn't open on Friday and why is it Asbury park was blocked from opening on Friday when I don't understand what science would have come out they said we've been okay today or even the jump from two hundred to five hundred so that the graduations can begin in July what he saying doesn't make any sense and if he comes out and says look here's where I'm getting it from at least at least we have an idea of where he's coming from and also I've always said if you get everyone in a room and you say look this is why I am doing it we can have a disagreement but when you don't release the information the basis for making those decisions eight it becomes problematic not only for other legislators quit for the public and you know the more transparent you are you this world is turned into us versus them right that's the biggest threat to democracy you know we can disagree in a family we can disagree and up in business and partnerships what if we say okay here's my opinion here's your opinion here's what I base my opinion them people the public can make a determination right now the public is confused and I think that's just not the right way to proceed no I agree and also is there any kind of remedy like a legally that would force him to release where he's getting his facts from sure but that would require the democratically controlled legislature to either enact legislation or overrule the governor and that's not happening at this point and that that's my concern one party rule look I'm a Republican you put too many Republicans in the room were too many Democrats in the room and it's a problem I'll tell you why because the public wants the government to do as little as possible government should just stay out of the way and let capitalism work right but if you if you start to make decisions in private and it's one party rule you can change your risk of democracy it's like a monarchy he's the king he gets to do what he wants and nobody could help you're not I will need to call the guy named all I'm saying to women who look please give us the information given the data Charlie styles with the biggest critic of Chris Christie in the entire state right and so we speak we many times so this is not so partisan the company in Cape May and we we had a discussion with them who has a bar and is willing to open safely why not explain to them why they can't open that's all I'm asking for I don't think that's too much in an open society no and you also talk about the legislature taking over the re opening process a time limit that after so much time closed they either have to explain themselves or give it back well I have a hearing in every expert you want bring in every business owner have a public can't we've had public hearings on things that are totally unimportant this is either going to allow a business to survive or not why not have an open hearing and hear from experts and let the public I had to proceed but this is what it's not happening anymore Macy's I come out I make a statement this is what we're gonna do and it just doesn't work not a democracy it may it may work in a totalitarian society but it doesn't work in New Jersey in my judgment and I think next time you see the polling of the government governor I don't think it's going to be as good as it was two months ago because two months ago everyone was worried and he came out and he look I can't deny the fact early on he was trying to protect the public that's fine now I wanna know how you making the decisions that's a good question thank you for coming out and talking about it John Graham Nick assembly minority leader and hopefully we get to do some comedy so I know you put the twelve look forward to it thanks so much appreciate it got it let's talk to Pat on the parkway in New Jersey won a one point five if that Hey Steve alcoholic good how are you I'm doing good just driving back to be out the door all of your I think it will or not I think you've got the people to replace the paid up because they're going to open up more questions question why did you pick they're cutting over delegate four but they should explain that right but then the data would explain yeah I mean that it will take you off the hook that's one way of looking at it yet I would like to avoid like if I if I answer the question if the card is gonna go by I'm going to make a certain group B. and the rest of my life why did you why did you pick all right yeah I see what you say I I think at some point it was one of my start really sort what what about what the future now because I will do that I would worry about that if I'm giving out my story saying you know what if they screwed up than it is on them and it takes me off the hook that thanks for the call the.

"The Senate president Steve Sweeney coming for your Vegas Elvis to get even more interesting because we hear that there's something coming out later on this afternoon soon actually from governor mercy we have no idea if the same thing if it's a separate issue but it's supposed to be still regarding vapes and E. cigarettes but the Senate president announced this week that he wants to phase in a complete and total ban on all electronic smoking products every thing this is not just about kids it's not just the flavored vapes there's already surely Turner bill for that he wants the Senate president wants to get rid of all of it. I mean there are there are people who invested everything they had to open up these vape shops. they're they're just gonna be completely **** if this would go through and anyway there's a poll question attached with this no it's only been up for a couple of hours but right now eighty one percent are saying no this is not a good idea. I agree with that I agree that it's not a good idea because I think they have to get a handle on what is going on but they are you know I am reading these creepy things and we'll get into it later on but about how. there's something that they've just never seen before doctors are seeing hundreds of people that have big gotten sick from what they regarding as a new type of long illness here that they can't even figure out yet and the CDC is strongly advising everybody to just stop using Vicks just stop using them. no it's a little amazing to me because of those people who have this mystery lung ailment. six are confirmed dead and they believe it's directly from whatever the hell happened to their lawns yes and they believe it's from vape. but yet the legal products is tobacco cigarettes is still out there every single day on store shelves and we know without any doubt four hundred and eighty thousand people a year die from that right so it just seems like we are truly jumping the gun here until we really find out why it's happening I mean how do we know it wasn't something got defective about. you know the the machine itself yes I know some of the vapor shop owners are saying that it was like a black market FAPE that we're hurting people not the and that could be too right that's in some of the articles as well because they're saying especially if you bought them on the street so anyway if you were to take part in that poll please do also on the website and I hate these because I always look my town up and never in it but if you yeah you know I'm sorry but it's yours bill got a thing about the richest New Jersey zip codes. I know I'm gonna walk. I've been resisting looking as I'm never in about it but I am gonna be curious others that and also there's a really really cool video of a woman from New Jersey who was on safari in East Africa and it wasn't her jeep but the jeep right in front of hers a cita jumps up onto this open top jeep it could be just like reached in and like tore somebody's out off of the wanted to. open top jeep drive through safari alike no windows like like there's a little perch above it for the sun but yeah like it could be just a gotten them is that kind of a design flaw for. for a vehicle going through a wild animal habitats. but people want to get pictures and people want to get pictures you can picture the other person like that lady did and you don't I wonder about that too. you would assume that your tour guide out in the serin getting that's where they were right you would assume that he's probably got some sort of weapon you have to I was all kinds of crazy creatures other this wildebeest there's everything right you assume that but when the woman taking this video whispers to her tour guide you know Hey what do we do if it comes on the RG his answer it wasn't don't worry I'm armed so it wasn't that it was stay very still. that's all you've got. basically if it wants to kill us it's going to kill a cheetah maze right you would think there be something really cool video though so that and more in the D. the page and J. one a one five dot com computers can do the. those earning without is about as touch bad today he's just going to re enact the remote. all right I saw this incredibly cool article this is cool to me anyway because I learned some things I never knew it was written by a Stephen L. Carter. in interfered in Bloomberg news. and it's called America's long history of resisting the self service now don't tune out we're talking about gasoline this does not have to be about gasoline this guy wrote this entire article he mentions gasoline but not New Jersey mentions Oregon but he gets in the all forms of self service and how historically he goes through the history of this and how almost always at every step of the way there was pushed back against. different forms of self certain they you know he gets into how Oregon was largely banning self serve for the longest time talks about how and this is something he never thought about. talks about how butcher shops way back in the day we're very worried when big grocery stores started having meat that was already caught wrapped in plastic the same way most of us by our media is right pre cut pre wrapped the consumers would come pick out what they want to make their choice and he writes here in nineteen forty nine after self service meat counters became a big hit in the Chicago suburbs unionize meat cutters organized against a proposal to allow them within the city limits there's like a big push back against that another thing he talks about and this is also and I never knew this pharmacies you used to have to stand in line at a pharmacy for much of the same stuff that is just now over the counter even vitamins he mentions. so this isn't even from a doctor this is just like an over the counter cold medicine and some vitamins for your kids and they wouldn't trust you to just pick that up off of a store shelf you had to stand there and you had to wait and once they finally made that change it was considered a form of self serve I wonder if that's where the phrase over the counter comes from he did need prescription they would just handed over the counter because I only..

Hey, did you see that new hotel? I was with the Anthony over there. What is it? The. No. Oh, come on. I'm going to say there is that not the trip without it said the brand new one right here. But a yeah. Yeah. At park place right around the corner from the Robert treat, you know, gorgeous. I gotta tell you something it's Butte. The town is doing great. And I was hoping Amazon was gonna come over there after they bailed that a Long Island city, you know. But the town of nor can I know Steve outta bottom of you listening out about name in Newark is legendary now only just because we're a family there in the north ward the talian second. But the way your parents have helped out the inner city, Steve you wrote the book on all that with Ray chambers, man, just helping out with with your with your what's the name of the Senator. These days, and they do a great thing in the community. By the way. I talk about segues you ready for this. You talked about Amazon come to New York. Let's put it this way. I wasn't in New York. New Yorker, I would rather have them in York. But the fact that certain Democrats, not the governor Andrew Cuomo, and I don't think mayor de Blasio with a case is run to present who's gone really, well, but that being said they screwed up the Democrats screwed up in congress. Cortez and others. I don't mean to keep naming her when they said, they didn't really want them twenty five thousand jobs. Yep. Having jersey and see how we feel about that. And that is not the view of certain Democrats in other mainstream folks who have a more my water. It's not even the right word common sense that you don't turn down twenty five thousand jobs. Yes, there are tax incentives. But it's a off you aren't getting him. Otherwise, it's still Steve I gotta ask you some stuff that I cannot believe that's going on in New Jersey. You probably know you're doing I know I know because there's an if you listening there are some what we call powerbrokers in states. They have them in New York and New Jersey is a friend, and I tr- full transparency here. He is a friend who I like and respect. So I gotta say is George Norcross down south jersey, really reinvented the whole political machine in in south jersey. Now, I can't believe government is going up against Norcross. This will be an all out war. And by the way, and this is me talking not Steve you, don't you? Don't. Blues. George doesn't move. From the soprano San. You don't listen. I respect Murphy. I like he's a good Kirsan on levels. Absolutely. But you don't play checkers with someone who's a master at chess by that is this you've away after the political powerbroker and save about George Norcross to me, it's about basic politics. You don't go after that powerbroker who has so many members of the state legislature that he's very close to that. He influences if you will he's very close to the president's needs when you can block anything that governor Murphy or any governor does Democrats you don't go after that powerbroker unless you can take that powerbroker out in my opinion, does not a chance in the world that happens not whether I like or agree with George Norcross, this politics, basic, politics, and the governor in my view has picked the fight that he can't win. Nothing. Good can happen importantly for the people in jersey in terms of moving things forward legislation dealing with the fiscal crisis in the state of public employees. Pension crisis is going to be a standstill among Democrats. That's what I mean. The future the Democratic Party. I'm thank these are all democrat democrat Republican. Yeah. Yeah. And they're fighting like crazy nasty Sweeney before ego. My friend Steve Sweeney head in the Senate, New Jersey will not primary governor Murphy, or do you think that might happen? You like asking every time I come on. Hey, if anyone joy that this is the drum and the drama, they'll you know that. The entertainment value of great. You got you got the governor going against this huge powerbroker might friend, George Norcross, almost George goes. You know, Mr President Steve Sweeney, you can run and I'm gonna back you begin about it. Good. Then then governor Murphy's in trouble. This is my this is my entertainment value, you know, dramatic kind of outlook that may happen. Stephen that for you. For you. Listen, I'm with you on that. It's going to be for those of us in the media. It's got to.

"Down for both drivers licenses and marijuana. How about we get them high and let them dry, right? And then we stayed your raise. And we have like a like, a what do you call it? What do you call those things? I got a treasure drive. Right. And we sponsor it and the and the price is a lot of green. All right. Then you really, what do you think? Yeah. Yes. If there are other countries, and I travel for business to our betas, and I rented a car their left hand hearing, even and as part of the rental ahead to pay fifteen bucks, and I got it for betas, driver's license. And that didn't allow me that didn't make me citizen or allowed to vote or anything. It's just be drive a car, and if I got an accident or speeding ticket I had license to show people if that happens. So I know probably, you know, if they want to buy a license and get deported. They don't get a refund. So. And did you have a license back when you when you left? I didn't I didn't give I think I had to show them license that I had a license from somewhere. So to get the license. You had to have a license license from somewhere. Yeah. And then I got the one, and I drove a left hand stick shift, and it was fun. Was it a little bit difficult? I starting out right? All the couple of times. And it was it was pretty good the circles yet a little bit before you enter the circle driving on the left and stuff arraigned on the right side. I've been now if you got you first of all you had a license so they gave the license because you had the license. Secondly, did you have to show them that you add some kind of insurance in case you happen to really hurt somebody while you down they're driving in the left lane with their license is thick she as I recall, I bought insurance as part of the rental agreement which a lot of people do and how much insurance. Boy, this is like back in the nineties. So I mean, the whole car, you know, it's like fifty bucks a day or something. Yeah. No, I get it. But so see, that's that's one of the problems here. Good. What what? Called a few callers ago. And her daughter was hit or something in the sun was hit two could even keep track of that story. But what if the guy who the legal who hit her and the cops came an illegal guy gave him his license, and she gave her license like it would be an ordinary hit in the parking lot. You know police investigation. It wouldn't be all this. You know, no one would show a license and would like to come down to license come down to insurance. I mean, you know, it's it's a it's a big hassle. If they are accidents people don't have it. You can't get insurance. If you don't have a license though. Right. So it's also we get it. If you're not a citizen. Thanks for the call to New Jersey one zero one point five one eight hundred three eight three one zero one point five. So how do you feel you know, what why not we pay legal fees to fight, you know, we're gonna pay the legal fees? We're gonna put the kids to college of the in state rate. Why not give drivers licenses? Why not why dinner? What do you think? One eight hundred two eight three one zero one point five, but on the other hand, you have the choice if you want to go with the licenses for those here illegally, and apparently they're not moving fast enough on that the other thing that you're not moving fast enough on is the legalization of marijuana recreational marijuana. Whatever happen top Democrats say fifty fifty basically they have until June thirtieth to get this done before it becomes really really difficult because then the lawmakers go on vacation, and God knows when it actually happens so one eight hundred two eight three one zero one point five presents to Senate president Steve Sweeney is New Jersey's high. Hi rating state lawmaker he pegs it fifty fifty. We're trying at what he says we're drying if you had to make a choice. Which way would you go? And if you want to say, no to both. I'm okay, tell me why you know, I think marijuana make the state much more money, of course. Although it would just go into the general fund. But I imagine the general fund is paying somebody something Ashley's in Marlton. New Jersey one zero one point five. Hi, ashley. How are you? Good. You. You. I can't complain. What do you think? Thinking that I think they legal immigrants should get charged licenses. Okay. I actually married somebody who was a legal the I know that it was a very difficult process of, you know, then not being able to try, but then having to get to work, and and I know a lot of illegal immigrants who go to Maryland to get their licenses anyway. So it says putting money into Maryland why not come to New Jersey? Get your here. Why not become citizen? Eight hundred Alford. Somebody had it. I mean, it can't be done, right. It can be done a call a lot of money, right? A cost a lot of money out of pocket. And we wanted to do it the right way. So we did it became citizen. Well, he's now a resident alien now. Okay. So we're on the right path. Right. All right. Excellent. Actually, thanks for the call to New Jersey one zero one point five one eight hundred two eight three one zero one point five. What would you rather see pass? I driver's licenses for those here illegally or.

But hey, what do what are we doing about before going to legalize the bedding? And everything that you've done that. You really really were spearheading went with the legalization of marijuana. Why can't I cannot embrace this as a dad of five kids a Senator it's just hard for me to embrace it in New Jersey. How's it looking? Do. You think it will pass today? It looks like it is not going to pass. Governor Murphy has been really twisting arms, which is what governor center when they want to pass something. No, I was very very elected myself. You know, I started a company scoring unique alley right? Raymond, j Lesniak exerting. Well known. Yeah. For for children who have substance use problems, and it's doing well and Bill concerned about about it for me. I have a little more of a open mind because I figured it's it's going to happen everywhere. But it needs to be tightly regulated. That's for sure. So anyway will create the revenue when I'm afraid about like when I was just say this ad nauseam on the radio is that when you create and you toll booths for the Parkway and create toll booths for the turnpike that was supposed to pay for the construction of the roads it never does. It just pays for the bureaucracy. That is my fear with the legalization of marijuana roles. And you're gonna have become what do you think? Well, first of all you're right about that. And and Senate president Steve Sweeney has taken this. I, you know, I know New Jersey is very unaffordable to live in property taxes are through the roof, and he actually has a program to tackle governmental spending. So if you if you do that end of it, you can do well, but we haven't done that for for decades if at all, but that's a key component of making New Jersey, affordable, which has to happen. Yes. Steve sweeney's. Great, man. Hey, eight between us know was do you think that Steve Sweeney Willie primary? Governor Murphy, do you think? You hear you? You ran for governor governor. And by the way, Phil Murphy, great guy. He's a great guy. But but boy, Steve's president Sweeney's not happy in the Senate. And I wonder if he would go after them and not go after which is challenging in a primary. Are you hearing that down at Trenton? Wearing a lot of things. But again, I can't hear.

"We are DND I'm Jeff and I'm big Bill Doyle. Hey, bill. Yes. Have to read the story to you before. I know what we're going to talk about times that people, and I think everybody's done this. We're going to be talking about times that people accidentally sent a text to the wrong person. Any it could either get you in trouble? It could just be awkward and funny, whatever. But we'll talk about that in a moment. Okay. Did you see the story about what happened at the diner? With governor Murphy and some of the top Democrats, and they all gathered at a New Jersey diner to tout in this public show, the New Jersey minimum wage hike. Yes. Fifteen dollars an hour. Did you hear what happened the no, okay? Instead of doing their homework and making sure that wherever they were going to do this instead of making sure that the diner owner. Was a fan of a fifteen dollars an hour. Minimum wage apparently than ever even thought about this. So they get there and the guy who runs the diner. He starts pointing out. Yeah. This is going to really impact my business. They're sitting there with on their faces because the guy starts bringing it up. It was the ocean bay diner on route thirty five. Okay. There's about like nine thirty. It was like Steve Sweeney Murphy Craig Coughlin, and they're all there to kind of like public show for this and the diner owner starts talking about how it's going to make him raise prices because he speaks up and then and then he was asked. Well, the does does that pose real problems for you? And the owner starts saying, yeah, I'm gonna have to raise prices. The people who come in. Here are not gonna pay for. They're not gonna pay for a five dollar hamburger. They're gonna pay a ten dollars for five dollar hamburger because you have a waitress making fifteen dollars an hour. And so they pull the guy aside, and then they're trying to calm him down to not make a big public spectacle of it. And then when they come back there. They're trying to explain. Well. Well, see he did he didn't realize that. This would be phased in over some time. It's like whatever dude he's not a fan of. I mean, why would you why would you make that pitch in a public place owned by somebody who's going to be hurt by that pitch? That is pretty funny. Actually, why would you do that so stupid? Maybe they talked to a manager. I I don't know. I don't know why he would go there. Right. Or you know, what what if there were like a lot of times like co owners, maybe one owners, but it wasn't that owner's database either. It was his other dudes. That's priceless. Okay. "For vehicles entered what we call the Manhattan central business district. We estimate that would raise about fifteen billion dollars in capital for what the subway, and why should we were driving our cars spending the money gas coming in because we don't have access to public transportation have to pay for that. Very respectfully submit that please help me somebody help me out here. And then the marijuana thing. Look, I understand it's like booze. You know, why if we it's like prohibition, we got in my whole generation everybody was smoking weed for crying. I so dead set against the legalization of marijuana. I don't understand it because I'm a father, and I see it and you see the problems in schools. I see all of that's going on. And then this one governor Cuomo on the legalization of marijuana nobody under twenty one years old, it generates approximately three hundred million dollars in tax revenue but away from the schools do a partnership with Zini. It sounds like the godfather speech. But when they all got around the table, what is that? And then Phil Murphy to coming at you. Phil murphy. With the legalization of marijuana fifteen dollars. Minimum wage. Sure, we had a governor. Phil Murphy coming at you. We understand the governor public. Thing. And I heard assemblyman John Brown. Nick talk about Robert author's coming on the show, Steve outta bottles. Coming up momentarily. It's like what can we talk about property tax? Steve a bottle lives in town where the highest property taxes the whole country and yet yet not one word about property tax about capping it about creating revenue about cutting spending. Don't get me started. Then then this is and I don't want to get too inside. Because they know people listen all around the country. Appreciate and I know you listening in Israel, and I know Australia. We get we get the Norway. Yes. Yes. All around. They pick up. They like the I think they love a touch in New York and they listened to Joe Franken Allen Debbie on the radio around there. But we are live, and we are local in New York, New York, right? So certainly jersey there is a spectacular picture, which I probably from the star ledger or nj dot com. It's got the Senate president Steve Sweeney who is behind governor Murphy when governor Murphy. The governor of New Jersey gave his state of the state address yesterday. Tabet conklin our social media genius. The did you see the shot, man? Not surprising. And I have to tell you at Phil Murphy, by the way, and I heard assemblyman brand Nick say this yesterday online whose great great guy, big heart. He is. He's a very very nice guy. Phil Murphy is you're not gonna find a nicer guy. I'm telling ya. I'm telling you a great guy. Sweater. But I gotta tell you Steve Sweeney's ahead of say, this is a tough guy. This is a big tough guy who and if you're an outside the area, he's the guy that was supposed to be the governor Phil Murphy came in and gave everybody money and said, look, I'm a Wall Street guy here take my money. Make me governor. Pullman happens Steve Sweeney. Smack somebody in the back of the head. He doesn't look very happy back there. You know? Respect for Steve Sweeney and for governor. But he looks like every every time governor mentioned a fifteen dollars our minimum wage. For like. But here's the bigger problem with the government in New Jersey as opposed to New York Cuomo is willing to work with the legislature. And it seems as though the legislature is willing to work with him unless he's going to bully them into getting the things that he wants governor Murphy shows, no sign of wanting to work with the legislature. We good game. He talks about I always ready to talk. And then it goes, meanwhile Sweeney, and we don't hear from this guy. We don't get it. And you wanna know why that you don't hear from the governor? And why the government doesn't do this? I know if you people are working, you know, buying the closed doors there, and they all say he he's hired a very very young millennials staff that has no clue how New Jersey works. The problem. Your your point is criticism is they're all just of Abbott you, right? Because what I what I'm hearing is whether or not you have to reach out the assembly you have to reach out to you have to reach out to the Democrats and the Republicans you gotta sit them down in your office. You'll wouldn't doing here help me out here, and especially somebody like assemblyman brand Nick who's a friend a personal friend. I know how he works in a bipartisan way in jersey. You gotta bring them in. And you got to answer them. And I guess if you from Wall Street, you think you can do it yourself or something I'm not quite sure. But whatever it is. It's just not working. We're getting slammed inside people that he hired are not qualified to handle the positions. They're coming from a from a different place. They don't know how government works, and they're they're just not the type of people first of all Martin Murphy yesterday. Did he mention the Katie Brennan thing at all if he wants to be this progressive governor that he talked he talked about he should've came out and said, look, we did a one. This woman we need to fix this problem. Why is it? The Katie Brennan got a gut sexually assaulted. Nothing was done about it allegedly. We had another woman in the cabinet that was working for the governor that somebody or chair in a room, and he's kind of dismissing it as nothing yet you keep hiring these people. I mean, it's just it sends the wrong message alga, Cuba, fired up get off my lawn. I love it. Hey, I'm I'm a shout out to Janet Janet Janet is that right? I I met somebody Asia we listen all the time. And she said, oh, let me see your cufflinks. This is how I know. They're listening to the show. She goes like that Frankie. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I hope I got the right. We're gonna Janice Janet whatever it is. Thank you for listening and thank you for your wonderful wonderful comments because she goes, oh, let me see a couple weeks. Then I know you're absolutely listening to because Frankie Fibro give me these great. I'll have to post those cufflinks to. They're really nice. Where did you get those Frank? He goes, oh, someone broke my teddy Roosevelt. It wasn't just broken. It was it was abolished shattered. The first thing I thought about when they Lynch those those would nine Tienanmen my Sicilian Americans in Orleans in eighteen ninety two because they thought that the the the police chief was killed, and they they blame the Italians, and they leached the Italian do what I'm telling you. They lynched the Italian Americans in new to this country the immigrants there, and and and then if the teddy Roosevelt says they got what they deserved. It was teddy at I'm just roughly paraphrasing with teddy Roosevelt said they got what they deserved imagine that if somebody said that nowadays, and by the way, just gonna let me get on a political point here about the Italian Americans. Never no one ever said. Sorry, no one ever said. Sorry. No one ever said. Oh my God. You lynched Italians you have. But now we have white privilege now, we're racist. Don't talk to me. Don't even talk to me, the pray. You could Lynch Italian Americans, the president could shoot you down. And. We don't do nothing except continue onward and forward and keep working hard. It. Don't get me started. But the fact of the matter is is Georgia. You new teddy Roosevelt. I have another one home. So it's not. All right. All right. So so anyway, but thanks for the cufflinks I will post the cufflinks and Heidi Janet, and I hope I ever named right, Janet. You're wonderful, wonderful gal. I love meeting. Everybody out there. I drove around. I'm like Uber. Dadge over an all day yesterday and today same battery hold up better. It's new it's new. Every second probably probably or push. Thank you. So I, you know, so I'm having big might make big Mike's gonna take the car to the dealer or go to route twenty two Toyota just go up to the guys at route twenty two. Battery man because that bad damore thought about it. And I'm talking about how my battery went dead the other night. And then some guy came over Senate guy. Hey, you need a battery. Joe I can't I can't jump. Start your battery. It's done. It's done. I gotta get about only in New York is a guy gonna go. I can get your battery. And I look out my window at the driver's side window this guy. Daddy, great guy, Danny really, how long is it. Gonna take told a car you got to take it to the dealer. What are you gonna do? He goes about ten minutes. The next block the car another battery out of another car put it in whatever it is. It's working Joey benefit video. That situation. And then you follow the guy. How did he get a battery at Ted bet is please. No, you could get. I mean how much is it better? Because how much is the biggest? At least fifty bucks, no battery for my car was like one hundred and eighty bucks. To Bill two three bills to ten two hundred ten that's good. And then abandoned, abandoned know. Take care of my boys. Hey, wait a minute. Battery to. It's about a five hundred dollars one expensive sandwich. You bought your door? Joanie Raboteau waiver just. Five hundred don't worry about it know. Oh, my back on you. Let me go to Mike guys before we break. Mike. Good morning. What's on your mind this morning? Thanks for calling them friend. Go ahead.
