"And they're just starting to look at design at that and just starting to get out of that. So we have about nine years left of work before this floating bridge project. Is complete. And I mean, just think about that. I mean, it's this has been a long term mega project, and it feels like Tacoma and Yeah, yeah, that's right. Kind of kind of not nearly as long as the folks in Tacoma have put up with this Yeah, Sully. So paying for me a word picture if you will. What? What? What's the status of of what you were on out there. Are there any stories of you hanging from something or clumsily trying to get over a rail of some sort. What was what was going on that day. I'm a pretty dexterous kind of guy. Good on my feet. Good balance, but no. I basically signed my life away from the safety office there and then Steve Peer from the department. Transportation took me out there. And what I didn't realize is they have built a long Platform trestle digging into the bed of Lake Washington. And this wouldn't trestle that goes all the way out to where it connects with the floating bridge. And it felt just like an old timey time. You know, fishing pier, you go out there and what they did is right next to that is where they're building these new lanes in the new bridge, So they built this platform so they could work from the sides and above the water. As opposed to being in the water and doing some of the heavy piling work that they do so as you walk out there you slowly but surely start sealing pilings popping up out of the water that they've put in there. Put in, You know, some really nice looking Seismic retrofit stuff that's on top of them. And as you go, you run through these four giant cranes. These are huge craze that they're basically using that roll back and forth on this platform. And carry out the the stuff that they need to, so they kind of build as they go. And so it was kind of neat to kind of see the old peers from the old 5 20 bridge, which are just like right off the water. And then you see the new bridge, which is carrying traffic now and you see where the piers are for the new ones. You can tell how much higher it is. It was just kind of because you know there were ducks and geese just kind of hanging out in the movie pads and the Mill foil There is, you know people who are familiar with paddling through there. But before you the construction started, which you can't really do anymore, but it was just really nice and peaceful out there. They weren't doing a ton of work on that platform right now because there's some fish spotting going on through Lake Washington, So they kind of put that on Hold until October. Then they're really going to Go to town. But, yeah, it was really neat to kind of be out there all by ourselves and watch them putting this bridge together. Chris question for you. Now that five twenties had tolling for a couple of years. How does that traffic compare to I 90 Well here. It's so hard to tell because the last 18 months of really skewed those numbers. Obviously, with so many people staying away and working from home and going into the pandemic, it was probably still about a 30% reduction of normal traffic of people who used to use 5 20 who no longer do and we're going to I 90 But during the pandemic, the tolling on 5 20 was off about 54%. So that shows you that even more people were not using it because they didn't need to because they're working from home. But yes, still at the new normal there for us pre pandemic was about 25 to 30% fewer drivers a day on that. Primarily problem because they can avoid the tolls and 9 90 is a pretty decent option when you're when you don't have to pay so And as we talked about earlier this month or late last month, I can't remember Now Even the tolls are going up on 5 20 here in a couple of years as well to make up the shortfall from the tolling revenue so you can see why people are choosing Other options. But boy, I'll tell you what I mean. If you don't mind paying the toll. It's it's an incredibly beautiful drive is a beautiful dress with a higher deck now because you don't have to worry about the waves washing over your cars, which I thought was kind of cool and some of those winter storms, But the high deck is really nice. Remember, it provides a beautiful view of the lake and, of course, Husky Stadium as you work your way west to, so it's It's nice to be up there and be that high. But I could see why people would divert as well to save the money because I mean, that could be a $5 toll during peak if you want to go across. No kidding, Sully. Thank you Appreciate your time. No, my pleasure any time. First reporter on the deck of the largest floating bridge construction project. Call Guinness Okay still ahead. You know how much of.

"Reasonable. Representative at any level. Let alone Yeah. Viable candidate. For any statewide office, not a single one. We've had heralds nuts. She's in the Margie Taylor Green camp. Don't know if Rebecca Dow was heading that road, you know, she'll indoors. Cozy up to Yvette Herrell. And by extension, Marjorie Taylor Green. Just be that nutjob. I'm going to go full nutjob. And lose by a record number. Votes for governor. Lose, I'll lose worse than Steve Peers. Times two Adam. So you know my island kind of came out and wrote a piece about her and said, you know, Her platform is, you know, kind of Was going to lead her to a two historical loss once again, Sure, way to lose. So Rebecca comes out. I mean, it finally attacked the press. It's okay. Sure some deserve it. Not me. Stand right. But to come out and say that Well, Rebecca Tao said. "So either way, I mean, it's kind of cool. It'll be historic. Uh, once again, Sam is Palestinian Merican be the first Muslim to lieutenant governor and Holla is part Lebanese Afro Latina and be the first non white woman as lieutenant governor. Either way. It would be very, very cool. In Virginia. All right now back at home. Also politico had a really cool story today. About New Mexico. The headline is simply don't know It's about New Mexico. The headline is simple as in why the GOP just got blown out in the congressional race. And whereas it goes in, and it talks about mark more and the fact that you know the state has been blue, and he didn't really have a chance from the get go because of what Brunel County Congressional District number one is it goes into the summer? It's interesting information if your political junkie um Either party about Kind of who the fingers being pointed at, and most of the fingers would be important at SD peers. But it also brings up the fact that the Republican Party New Mexico is kind of in this quandary. They're kind of in this. There's no win zone, and they haven't won. Except for Yvette Herrell. They've lost every single race. In New Mexico. Under Steve peers. But they're in this quandary and they're in the tough place. No wind zone. Because there are the The non Trumpers who have no power who have no voice. And then there's the pro Trumpers. Which is where Steve Peers falls. And they have no shot at winning. So, um, there are those and there are actually some wealthy Republicans who are not happy and they'd like to see peers out and they like to see Trump Not, you know, not being a factor in New Mexico Republican politics. But Lot of the money and Republican Party, of course, is in the southeastern part of the state, which is where pierces its oil money. Hobbs and Carlsbad and Cartesian Lovington. And its oil money. You know you have Claire Chase, who ran lost Yvette Herrell for that congressional district number two seed. That's oil money. That's the Mac family Mac energy. And she ran against the event. Harold as who is going to out Trump, who Who was going to show the biggest Gun on their political commercial. Anyway. It's a good story politico today why the GOP just got blown out in a congressional race, and most Republicans say it's t pierces fall. All right, come back and we'll talk about New Mexico. We'll talk about the Re districting Commission..

"I think I want to state you for bringing us de Paris back on your radio show again on Friday. Not that I agree with Steve Parris the whole lot I think you need to listen to different ideas, the other side new points of view, you know, and by the way to meet each other in the middle, you know You often we point. I think there's suspicion to the right into the last Your ideas are bad. Our ideas like vice versa. I don't think it's a good idea. You started medicating and listening to each other a lot more. Okay, is that it? Let's do it. I agree with you, Tom. Appreciate it. Thanks for the call. Stay safe, All right. All right, so Steve Pearce wants Come on on Friday. He will be a three o'clock on Friday. And he wants to talk about how Joe Biden is going to kill the oil and gas industry. So front page story in Saturday's Albuquerque Journal Moratorium, which is what Joe Biden nous. Suggesting a moratorium, not a ban. A moratorium on oil and gas drilling on federal land and off shore, Okay? 60 day moratorium. And Republicans are freaking out, saying that's going to kill the oil and gas industry. Ryan Flynn. Of course, Ryan is the presidency of the New Mexico Oil and Gas Association. And Ryan is no stranger to hyperbole and panic, Ryan says. Quote it very much putting politics above science. Keep that in mind. Is putting politics above science. And yet, if you Look at a story from Bloomberg News. From this morning. Actually published in the Albuquerque Journal. That the story is the headline is clean air issues take a top spot and Biden's agency priorities. And the picture is of Los Angeles. Incan very barely see the downtown of L A because of the fires in the smoke that we know choked. California the entire summer. Air quality in some places was over 400 for most of the summer. Which is dangerous. So what Joe Biden is doing the buying administration is doing is telling agencies to look at the science Look at the science. Around. Allowing more mining of coal. We're allowing Whole firepower plans to remain open. To allow War drilling on federal land. For oil and gas exploration. When the need is obvious. We need to get off oil and gas and fossil fuels and get on solar and wind and probably small nuclear Bio and everything else. Joe Biden teed up a slew of clean Aaron carbon issues as top environmental priorities for his administration in an executive order signed last week. It's a moratorium is not a band, not an outright ban. And that yet Ryan Flynn and other Republicans Deep here is probably on Friday when he's here on the show will say. Oh, no, no, no. Joe Biden is trying to kill our Golden Goose in New Mexico. So that is in today's Albuquerque Journal. Oh, also in today's Albuquerque Journal. A story by Theresa Davis, who was in Albuquerque Journal Staff writer It is about a University of New Mexico study. A local study. And one of the authors of the local study is the dean of the School of Nursing College of nursing at you and him. Dr Christine Casper. And the study has to do with air pollution. As a key health factor. And how Dr Christine Casper says When she has somebody come in, she meets a patient interviews. A patient It's not always what you have is the first question. First question might be where you from? Where do you live? Under what plume of methane or other air pollution do you live? Do you live near oil and gas? Petroleum fields. Do you live near mining? Dr Casper along with Dr Katherine Should Kowski also you, Nam? Have compiled a report about the Importance. Clean air on people's overall health. So, whereas Ryan Flynn or Steve peers The Mac family or oil producers. They're going to say no, You're gonna kill us. You're going to kill Revenue stream of New Mexico and we Because of oil and gas. We have schools and hospitals that usual talking points of the on gas industry in Mexico Oil and gas Association. They leave out the fact that they are killing Actually killing people. With the air pollution that they create. Methane that they release that they have been saying leave us alone. We will police ourselves and yet they don't do it. Air pollution methane Willie's doubles triples 20 times worse year after year. When you're going to start doing that, Ryan When you gonna start policing yourself, Never Never will you do it Never will. You had been, you could actually make money, create industry and jobs by capturing method. To do that. You'd have to admit that for the last 100 years you've been wrong. She's been flaring that methane And killing the planet. And by extension, actually killing humans, especially Especially in a time of a pandemic. That his respiratory related Any it Ryan and probably Steve Pearce on Friday. We'll say no, no. No oil and gas exploration that is more important, more important, and Children breathing or the elderly being able to breathe. I disagree. All right? We'll take a time out. We will come right back..

"Now via Xuemei. Paul, what a day now. Holy, um Bean. I heard. I know. I'm wondering if we have anyone on listening to this because I'm getting all kinds of guessing everyone's glued to the television. Not everybody has a TV. I'm getting all kinds of art. He's not working. No, I hear you hear me. Okay, so I I Kind of object to your use of the term protest. Okay, Protesters, Thies air, domestic terrorists and I am in shock that they are all in handcuffs right now. Um I just don't even get it. How is this? You know? Okay, Trump says you need to go home peacefully after restating is it is see about the election is green Rod. And telling them he loves them. I mean, what's going on? We know what's going on. Richard, What's going on? Can you hear me? I'm sorry, Paul, can you hear me? Yes, I can. Barely. You're really faint, but only I'm screaming at you. I'm screaming at me. No, I'm screaming at you. So put on headphones. Put in some ear buds. Turn up your speakers. All we gotta do what you gotta do. I have a screaming at you. So, yes, I am talking very likely in here. You just barely. I just wanna make sure we're red lining on red lining the meters right now. We know what's going on. I'm sorry that Um I just can't believe what's going on right now. In Washington, D c I I'm sort of not gonna be the best interview you've ever had. Because I'm speechless. I just Roxanne and I had gone to pick up Curbside. Market at Market Street and on the way there we put on the news and, you know she started crying and I'm just going How is this? I mean, first of all, it Z actually disingenuous to say, How is this happening? It's so obvious how it happened, and it's so obvious who's it fall? And I'm actually wondering if this is going to trigger the congress to impeach this guy like now, before he does any more damage. And if not that, whether or not he could be arrested for treason and you're shaking your head. No, no, no, no, no, no. What do you think? All right, Can you hear me? Yeah. Okay. This is all predictable. You know why Capitol police were not surrounding the capital. Why? We did not have this whole thing locked down. I mean, Paul, come on. We know who this man is. This is no surprise. We know we knew what was going to happen today. We know that the Republican Party is irresponsible and a party of cowards, including Steve Peers, and Yvette Harrell and everybody else. Who enables This this treason, this president and his crime family. You know, we were talking a couple days ago with with Harvey Wasserman and out in L. A about Devon newness. Getting the couldn't giving the American Medal of freedom. The bar. The bar no longer exists. Bars not just been lowered. The bar has been eliminated. And that was to denounce Trump's plan. What you did, Richard, but all of a sudden you're coming through loud and clear. Mike got moved or something I did. I did Nothing anyway. So anything this you know it is crazy. So if if you don't if you're if you're not sure what to say about what's happening in D C today. Tell me your reaction to the election in Georgia yesterday. Well, well, first of all, before that, I want to mention that there are hundreds of Cowboys for Trump armed and asked What's at the roundhouse right now? Right? And there's an action being asked, were circulated it just minutes ago, so you can find it on our home page to call the governor. What we're seeing in Washington is what happens when authority doesn't respond to threats. And when authority doesn't respond to lawlessness, and these folks are all massless, not social distancing, there are finds that can be imposed that they could be arrested. Andre and when you don't do that, and you are signaling to people who are lawless that that lawlessness is okay. So I would encourage your listeners to go to retake our democracy dot or g'kar. All the information was organized by a woman named Karen Ben Trump from Albuquerque. And it's uh, speaking points and phone numbers and email addresses to get to the Um, uh, Governor and asked her to use the authority. She has to have the police sent there and rest these people. All right, people, whatever. I mean, this is just not okay. And, um you know, when we were driving into town, we saw a helicopter over hovering over the round house. So Um, I just I'm wondering what's going on. All right now let's have a Segway. Here's something better. I I spoke with Senator Peter Worth right before the show started today. He was inside the Capitol today. And he said, Yeah, there's a lot of protesters outside. But he said that the Legislative Council Services in Mr but Sarah takes this very seriously. There. Number of state police they're They're all over this email The governor's office What are your plans? The email City hall. I have not heard back from City Hall. I didn't hear back from the governor's office. Paul, remember? Two weeks ago. From protest. No mask outside the roundhouse. Anti trump protesters were there. Were beaten, kicked and beaten by Trump protesters while the state police watched Well, that's what I mean. I mean, what? What point do you start to enforce the law? And, um, you know, I don't think I don't think it's gonna be today. Michelle Han Grisham is thinking she needs to court the support of those idiots because I'm certainly not going to vote for her, so she she needs to get control of whoever she needs to get control the department public safety in the state police and say are exactly right. You are not here to support as you know, as we see, uh On the Capitol steps, the police being very polite to the protesters. Where is this was black lives matter. It would have been gas and mask and clubs out and guns out and and rounding them all up and being incredibly violent. The governor needs to tell BP DPS and the state police..
