"It going, Steve? I'm doing great. Thanks, Keith. All right. So you're Steve one of our philosophies at the firm here. It's singer well, is to try to give our Klein's extraordinary value whether it's even if they call us for a five minute Called to ask some questions or they do a zoom call with us or a phone call just to sort of share with us some of their concerns. If we can use that time to give them great value, we feel like we're doing a good job. And obviously the same applies to our clients. Now you're the kind of person who just wants a cookie cutter portfolio. We're not the firm for you because we spent a huge amount of our resource is in our time trying to find outside the box strategies. They can give you extra income or reduce your risk. Forgive you potential higher growth potential or give you some strategies that are not Correlated the stock market and one of the areas that we think That is very under utilized by many financial visors. Structure notes shocks. Her notes are issued by major banks. Like Barclays, like J. P. Morgan chase like Goldman Sachs, Citibank. And they use derivatives to create interest. Very interesting outcomes. Where you can get high levels of income or you can get good levels of growth. Or you could get average loves of growth with less risk. And so there's a lot of kinds of no, it's obviously the notes are all back by the financial strength of the issuing bank. So You have to use a strong bank one. You're confident we'll be in business when it's time for you to get your money. Otherwise, you know, that could be a problem. So if you're worried about major banks going out of business, you may not love structure notes. But if you can accept that risk you, Khun be rewarded with some really interesting returns. Now there's all kinds of notes. There's growth notes. There's buffered notes, There's barrier notes. Um, there's leverage. Notes, You can get notes from a broker. You could get notes from a fiduciary advisor. We're going to explain to go through the different kinds of notes that are available, etc. Why don't we talk about our that Barclays note that we just have this week? Yeah. Barkley just came out with a note. That is an income note and The income is 11.5% per year, and that's paid on a quarterly basis. And the way that the coupon work as long as none of the index is that the note is written on the S and P the day now and the Russell 2000 as long as they don't go below 40%. Coupon has paid every single quarter. So it's contention coupon and the contingency is one of the major indexes like the Dow, The SNP or the rustle of those three particular in this case cannot be 40% or more lower than when they started the note. Right, That's correct. Okay, So let's try to talk about what are the odds of that happening? Because, you know, does that happen a lot, And the thing is, it's not uncommon for index toe fall 40%. It's happens, You know, probably once every 10 years or so. OK, however. What is uncommon is for the index to be four years later, 40% less than it was four years earlier, Because a lot of times you could see an index fall like you know, if you look at the S and P 500 It felt like 35%. Right, but literally two months later, it's only down 3% for the year. Actually, maybe, you know, depending on what you're looking at, might actually be even by now for the year so it can't fall, But usually they come back. So if you look at all the different periods Since 1979. Look at all the four year old periods. It actually has happened 0.11% of the time. Okay, so not 1%. Basically 1/10 of 1% of the time so out of every 1000 Period's One time out of 1000. It's gonna be down more than 40%. Okay, So that's the risk you're taking to try to get 11.5%. Now some people might say Well, okay, I'm okay with that. Um, I'll take that chance to try to get a really good reward of 11.5%. And you know what if the index is down 42% after four years and I put in 100,000 and I only get back 15,000 I'll buy the index and I'll wait for you to come back. In the meantime, we made you know 11% for a few years, you know, so it wasn't the end of the world, right? But if it's not one of the 1000 then you're good. Now for some people, they might stay on 11 of the 1000. How can I make Make it even safer. What are some of the things we can actually do to make the notes safer, Steve? Well, you know, when it comes to the structured notes, you can extend out the amount of leverage. So we're talking right now. About 40% protection. There are actually notes out there with 50% protection. Of course, When you go out with more protection, the yield is going to be a little bit lower. Right now. It's being offered is an 8.5%. Annual return with 50% protection on the major indexes. Right And so are these notes. Come and go. They come quickly, Um, text the word note. 2474747 to get on our list. Weekly updates of what notes are available, but yeah, like you said, Steve, If you go to 50% barrier right, so now, in order to lose any money, the index would have to be down 50%. That's never happened. That's never happened. Keith at me looking at the rolling average is the market four years or five years or even three years later has never been down more than 50%. You know, Obviously everyone wants to take the throne level of risk. And so what we tend to do is you try to diversify among banks, so we don't have too much risk in one bank. We may stagger maturity ease on DH. We're going toe. You know, we may have won this a little more conservative one. That's a little more aggressive, depending on what your situation is, but obviously you want to make sure that whatever you're doing, it's consistent. With your risk tolerance, and you're not taking too much risk. So, you know, give us a call at 866 wealthy. We'd be happy to discuss this with you Another way. You could design these noses for growth, right? Instead of getting income. If you don't need income, you can get growth with either mohr. Downside protection or mohr upside its possibilities. So, for instance, um, well, you know, we have Ah, tactically managed account Close, Spartan. And in March, we sent an email out based on our spartan analysis that we think we're at the bottom on March 19th. We said that within 1 to 3 business days training days, we will hit the bottom and we will start an epic rally. That's the exact you know. We sent out to all of our investors, and it turned out to days later, we did hit the bottom. He called that exactly right, and the index is up 35% since then. So when we did that, we said, Okay, let's get a note. That could take advantage of this rebounds. All right..

Ruby and Yoda and It's one of you older. Yes, maybe one minute older them a one minute older so Yoda. How do you to differ in your temperaments? Well I'm always told that Ruby, Nice. One Which is true? I am a little bit more direct assistance. Dutch people are think I'm a little bit more. Outspoken where we very patients and lovingly, and yeah, so you complement each other we do I think. Together the Dutch are famous for being direct. Yes, we are yeah. This is so fun to think about generational differences, and so on in America and what we call a baby boomer and you got in America people in their twenties and thirties or generate millennials do the Dutch look at generations in certain ways like that? Also? Yes, exactly the same we have baby. boomers are parents are a baby, boomers, and yeah, we're millennials, so millennials people in their twenties and thirties, gen-x people in their forties, baby boomers people in their fifties and sixties, baby boomers, being the most interesting and fun, loving and entertaining. Okay so tell me about the characteristics of millennials. In the Netherlands. Well, it's probably very similar. we are we millennials. Because we got handed everything to us right. We always learned where you're growing up. Everything is possible everything you wanted to do and instead of creating people who are very secure. What they WANNA do were all very insecure, and we're very well like I'm going to do and like every ten years. We changed jobs and There's a lot of enterpreneurs so a lot of people who want to create their own little thing, but we're all sort of this known at were unhappy with everything because we can have everything we're unhappy. Little bit spoiled came easily old. Yes, and impatient. You want it now. Yes, and if you don't get it now, you'll go somewhere else. Yeah, we're own press. And we invented the burn out. Is! Still Alive and kicking. This is travel with Rick Steves. We're talking with Yoda angles store and her twin. WHO's one minute older? Ruby angles. Talking about millennials and when we think about having fun as tourists, we can learn a lot by having fun as millennials millennials love. It seems like in the Netherlands parties in vegetables. Yoda. What's what's an example of festival that a millennial looks forward to every year and Amsterdam? We Love, King's Day. That is one of our favorites. Once It's not we do not have as many festivals in Amsterdam anymore more dough, so I'm stem because such a busy city day try to take people away from Amsterdam, so if you want to experience the holidays like King, stay or Liberation Day It's better to go to one of the less bigger cities. Also. Just what what? What is it? You'd like to go to for one of these big. Go to Harlem, because the most I am from Harlem, so we always love Liberation Day that is in Harlem. It's known to have the biggest festival only ration- days that its fifth of May we got free from the Nazis and every year. We celebrate our freedom. It's just really fun with a lot of artists in music. Video of me. I remember the festival Yeah Amsterdam is getting so congested so touristy. I was there for a King's Day once and there's so many boats you could walk across the canal just from boat to boat. who was just solid votes in the canals, but people were certainly having a great time Ruby. Festival that you look forward to. What would it be every year? ooh I always look forward to the food festivals. There are many food festival also around to Amsterdam. And we have a shoeless that SURF SC fall in the neighborhood of Amsterdam where people go to, they have to take off their shoes and walk bare feet it. It's of course when festival Shula Festival. They have a lot of food everywhere. Fit of electro music seems okay. Let's me to one of these food festivals. Then okay. So, what kind of food would you be enjoying? You would be enjoying some Sushi macos, but also local foods like French fries. The real food festivals hundred stance. You can try a little bit of everything

"You it's dampening but that means it has some give the in in that in that case like yes your your table is probably going to be stable and vibrate and be fine but something up and down like that His his bench on on his. Yeah so yeah I mean it. It must work but not seen him do some good ducktail. So yeah I mean that's one application. They have here in the little Sample pictures of someone. Put it in the bed of a truck. Yeah I saw that. That's that's interesting. I mean why not stick it down other than the fact that it's heavy enough to stay down heavy enough to stay down. I just hope it drains well underneath of it. That was concerned but yeah but Anyway so that's kind of interesting but But Sean what have you picked? So I don't know if it was an email or an instagram or whatever you know I'm hooked in with all all things would working pretty much everywhere. I look but Veritas advertised to me There many pocket Layout Square. They call it what it is. Is Intern Half Framing Square? Which I framed houses A six inch framing square. Small when you're when you're working in that you know so but it was like twelve dollars. I I couldn't pass it up so I picked him up and it's fantastic and I. It's it's as if a toy I don't know if I'm ever going to use it for actual layout I haven't even I meant to to see I'm guessing it's as square as anything else that I've got that small I've got like the the woodpeckers many square You know which I totally trust his is as square as can be but as far as like striking and angle. I don't know that I trust it to do like A. I mean maybe the forty five is accurate but like swinging like you do a framing square to find a a pitch or pitch again. I framed houses. That was how we cut structures. But it's it's super cool. And super as you'd expect from Veritas. Very high-quality etched markings again haven't measured them assuming they're accurate but I mean if if you're in the market or if you just Kinda like knickknacks like I do It's cheap knickknack. And and it's pretty damn cool and I said you know before we started today. I'm I'm always tempted by their miniature stuff. And they have a way. It's just how they they're always functional what they make as as toilet as they may be. You can get a little quarter inch bull nose plane you know and it fits in the palm your hand but you'll be damned sure it it works. You know it's it's meant to do a thing it just meant to do within a small-scale so the the Marco trends of the world may have use of an inch and a half framing square that but I got one I love it. It's it's decoration on my desk at work at this point but I absolutely I think and I think it super cool. Checkout Checkout Veritas. Little Eighty Square. You know it's not bad. It's as of this Looking on their website. It's nine dollars and fifty cents there with shipping. I think I paid less than fifty dollars. Yeah and they got the shipping going on right now so except you have to spend like fifty. Yeah forty or fifty bucks at. Let's say you were like you know at thirty two bucks and you need to get over fool. You can add something like that too. So yeah and they're good for that stuff. Let me get into. I think it's it's all valley you you can find so much crap in their crap crap in the best way quality club. Yeah but I mean as tools or gifts or things I mean I love looking through their catalogs and I don't. I always see something I could use. I don't always get it. But there's an easy to spend fifty dollars with them if you're if you're looking for something especially their hardware. That is their hardware catalog. I think I've only gotten at once on. That is the most complete collection of hinges and drawer. Polls and and everything associated with that kind of stuff though. If you're in that kind of work or going through a remodeling or anything like that definitely check them out exactly. Yeah yeah not that that That reminds me. I guess we can move on to. What's in the shop and Let me dovetail off your square sort of a mid working reference right. Yeah Okay but I have a One of the stereotype. Twelve inch combination Squares and I had my suspicions and I just verified them a few days ago Mayes. My twelve inch. Combination Square is out of square. Oh yes by just a little bit. I need to context stare at. I've heard that you could make some adjustments to those by filing down these little nubs are are are not tied. Just need to see if That's something I can send it to them for them to do or not. Wow I ever dropped it or anything. I don't know why did you buy it new about numerous ting. And I've never dropped it or anything. Didn't admire try. I mean it's it's off you know. The length of the twelve inch rule is probably off may be a thirty second over twelve inches. Yeah maybe get trying to get to specific is probably a square enough for woodworking. Deputy bothers me a little. Yeah I I wonder you know when you're in in the the the process of of measuring marking and cutting where does where does the precision actually happen? You know if you struck a line with pencil. That's a thirty second off at twelve inches. When you take into your miter saw right. Who's WHO's at fault if it's not square saw Right so within the thirty second. You can't see that but but if you're using it to to reference that this is how I found out is You know my Boring Jigsaw Making So I'm checking those for square. See How square the the Tower of this thing is to the base. And that's where I notice. It was going wait a minute. This is off a little bit and then I checked it with another square and let no. It's on I know this one says it's off this. Is You know. It's just like one of those things so you know. Probably be in to to Anal about that but anyway it was Anyway it was like interesting but so. I need to figure out a way to to You know put it back into square if I can like. I said I've heard you can adjust them but I don't know if it's something I could send them. And if so. How much does it cost? And you know all that kind of stuff. But I'll report back. How long have you had it? Probably at least twelve years now and I just wonder I I know star has been forever Ben Quality Right and and like precision machining quality So I I wonder how how long they're guarantees are. Yeah all that stuff. It'll be the contact them and I guess see so now. We'll we'll see how that goes but Anyway besides that I think are refined my speaking of my boring jig. Refined that somewhat. So I got a remake all my demo videos which I hate I mean you know I need to make videos to show people in. Give them some instructions on how to use the JIG in that that type of format stuff and and but yeah it's it's a pain in the butt to make those things 'cause it takes it'll take me a couple of days to get it done and all that kind of stuff but you know. I'm no I'm no marker matter Shannon so when it comes to that I it comes. I'm like take twenty eight. Yeah when you know you get better when either you care less or you just do a bunch You'll you'll get it. I mean are you calling these mark? Two is enough revision to it that you know. I'm just I'll probably just once I get these done. Delete the ones I mean. I made some minor Just CR- creature enhancements to the set up blocking the way interact so Yeah I mean anyone that looks at him. Now is fine. It's just doesn't explain that. Hey the setup block now has a little magnet in it the taxes to the side all that kind of stuff. Oh Yeah I saw that. Yeah well that's fine. You could even retrofit that right. I mean yeah. Yeah because you because you've already shipped some of these haven't you? Yeah I've shipped two batches in okay. I'm about to start on a third batch. So yeah so we'll do that and when dad leads me to the other thing that have been experimenting with the Boring Jig. Still have some more testing in product development to do but You can use this Jig for renaming with a drill power. Ramey will exactly hold your ankle. So basically I had with my strategic. I had a couple of folks at one that you know. Typical the typical ring coal for a chair maker is Six degrees Or sometimes eleven degrees in the reamer and tenant. Cutter the Veritas. Sales is at eleven degrees and I had someone that wanted a set of my stretcher in that so I needed to buy either tenant gutter which I did now let me go ahead and buy the rimmer and asserted looking born Could use that Roemer. Utilizing the genetic. Maybe not because you know That roddenberry mouloud shaft to move. I said well let me give it a try now. It's just like a drill bit. It's locked in and you just go down to your mark and all right and you're right on the money The only problem is you know people like me and I think most people use six degree Like I said is there Mortis Their taper on their mortis. And so I've been out there trying to find anybody that manufacturers six degree taper like for Tyrod and stuff like that. In the automotive industry they make. Yeah they make So far I found him in five point. Eight degrees seven degrees eight degrees but nothing in six degrees yet But I'm still looking 'cause I think some heavy machinery like trucks and off road equipment and things of that nature. I think they do have some some setups on them. Where They need six degree Roemer. So we'll see if not as someone just going to have to keep going with so anyway is is that a dangerous proposition to be power. Remaing are you afraid of running too far it. Or how controlled is the advance of that? It's pre- it's pretty controlled I'm I you know I've just been doing some test holes. I'm certainly not expert at power Ramey but probably by get done Willard but I just been I just got. The two speed took drill. I just put it on the on the slower speed the one instead of the to ensure and and just gone and it seems to work fine in fact the whole it lease is really really clean. It's cleaner than the hand rumor. Oh I bet because you've got in the same in the same operation you guide. And how many times the rotation? Yeah and it's tenuous because when you're handing your yeah your stop at star turn started turning up. Yeah you'll only can get about one hundred eighty degrees per with the hand get continual motion with interesting. Does that? Does that. Help the other than speed. Does it help the process? It can't well it helps. The process is so far. Like I said I'm still doing testing so this all might come denied but From what I've been able to tell it's much more accurate you know Using lighters when I'm doing my remain in. That is really really accurate. I would say it's the same accuracy as that but it's continual new. Don't have to worry about it. You're not watching anything you just. You're plugging you know. You're pulling the trigger in putting a little pressure yet so It makes it much more simpler on the only issue. Have you have? Is You know stopping on you. Know put a little piece of blue tape on the rimmer to know when to stop There are some instances where you may have to sneak up on a particular fit. So you'd WanNa do that by hand. I don't see any reason you couldn't put some not handle instead of putting a drill up there but like a t handle up there and turn the hand okay. The any burnishing operation. Because it's going so quick that it's kind of smoothing the whole in a way that's maybe not the best. I'm totally playing devil's advocate. I'm desire oh no not that. I've noticed but I'll keep an eye out for that. That'd be my only fear like if the glue doesn't quite bite the same because it's so smooth because it's so quickly flip. It is something that some chair makers of us is duke through our drill so I have you know. It's not an uncommon practice. It's just it's just the third. Kinda doing it by you know Satan feel this has got you totally locked in. The base is clamped to the seat blank. Your.

So with water pump that usually entails changing out the thermostat as well. I had just had a new radiator put in. That thing Willie comes over takes the water pump off I'm inside the house because I am no help with that mechanic. And he comes out. He said he comes in. He says, hey, man, you're all slicked down ready to go. I said perfect, man. It's hooked up to the trailer. Monday drive it to job stop. I don't notice anything wrong. We worked all day. We drive it over to said mechanic that was, you know, screwing up the dodge. And he calls me up the next day, and he says change water pump. And I said one of the guys working for me because he wanted some extra money, and he goes, we'll next time. He does that tell them to change out thermostat too. Because thermostat was frozen about three quarters of the way stuck. That's what caused your radiator to explode. Yeah. So I'm sitting there going boy the money the money, I say by not taking it to a regular mechanic, just jump admit me in the ass. Because now, I got, you know, obviously, get a new radiator and all that all that entails. Yeah. That's that's doing this thing. Did something change. Did you remember in the old trucks? They the old fuel pump. It used to have a lever that worked off of either the piston or the crankshaft that operated. Yeah. And you had an to ports going out one pushing a fuel and one recycling. Yeah. Didn't they like that anymore? I said I said to my mechanic. I said, hey, do want you go ahead and change the fuel-filter on this thing. I mean because you know, it's running rough. Maybe it's. Got a got a jewel delivery issue. And he goes with a fuel filters in the in the guest take shit. If it's in the glovebox change it out. No, did you don't change that out. This is this is the kind of filter. You don't change it out. I'm like, that's just beyond me. I mean, I remember my Ford has an inline filter screwed to the to the frame. Yeah. But the five dodge it's in the tank, and you know, it's not serviceable. Yeah. Dude. It's you know. Own. It was like this on paid more attention college. Fuck. I met up with the guy that I graduated high school from my story we took asthma Canucks together and a high school, and we tried to rebuild a three and a half horsepower lawnmower engine and what try to start it up..

"Never thought. I would if you told me Steven ten years, you're going to be talking to Ted Fowler Skype. Call on a podcast, and he's going to be drinking Chardonnay. I decide you crazy. I would've had agreed with them. Yeah. But it's not like I got a plate full of cheese crackers here. Doing the whole fucking deal. You know, I just said man show so little moderate, you know, I mean don't get all juiced up. Now. Once once we get off this thing like I said, I'll fix mixie. They helped me sleep. Ted found of the voice of reason. So you and the crew or you guys going up with element outdoors to the show and tell me about that. I look forward to it, man. I am because this'll be the first trade show that, you know, since I've been with element that, you know, we're we're gonna go to and I'm real excited. I'm a little bit. You know, hesitant because you know, you know. I know how to hunt, you know. I know what ship works. You know, how I want a jacket? How I want a pair of pants. You know, cool hats shit like that. But as far as putting it all together, you know, how is this thing stitched? You know, bunch of a bunch of people sweatshop putting it together shit. I don't know. I know I can't say that, you know. But I'm really looking forward to seeing how you know because I watch at ten of hunting shows, you know, seeing how the whole industry operates, and, you know, look at it from the business standpoint, you know, but I'm I'm I'm real hopeful that, you know, things go well for the company, and I I really think that got great patterns and about you know, and hunting industry and pretty much anything. Classic example, George Foreman and George Foreman grill. Yeah. It'd be a bad boxer tremendous like a Mack truck. But Jesus Christ. I mean, the the personality has charisma behind the grill those things they sell. So, you know, it's first of all you have a great product. And it's just going out there, and you know, making connections good. I'm kind of hoping that you know, I can relate to the people from. You know, the the actual hunting standpoint. And you know, Chris can can bring what he brings, you know, with the manufacturing and marketing and stuff like that where I can just kind of be, you know, the the man on the street so to speak. You know, the, you know, like you used to call me and all the work, and man, you know, it's just good good cammo regular people price. Right. And also, I'm looking forward to we're going to meet with a number of dealers marketing people over that rub line got it lined up where you know, hopefully, we can get in some stores. Get an not some big box stores, but you know, get in some stores and get some exposure, then box doors or brick and mortar stores disappeared. Everything's gonna be online. Yeah. I know. I know when I was talking to Chris. I mean, we're already online, you know, with with the website. Oh, did I got you'll you'll get a chocolate this? I know we've spoken about it before. But they printed off of my t shirts for the construction because I'd yeah. Couple of requests. So you know, you. You may be getting, you know, thirty or forty of them, you know, for your next birthday if they don't sell. Do I wear the same shit every single day in my life? So yeah, I I wear those till I'm a hundred you going back to my mid life crisis. And it's funny that they call them to midlife crisis. Because usually the midlife crisis happens around the fifty year, Mark, right? Right. So I don't know why why is that the number? But it just seems like that's the number. So if I'm fifty four if word have or if I am having a midlife crisis. Then I guess that maintaining I'm allowed to be a hundred eight what your midlife crisis. Is. You went out and bought a corvette that you won't drive over fifty five. I didn't tell you. What speed I hit because I was trying to fade..

And fuck fucking Sal started sliding off to the left to the live slide, dude, I'm riding this motherfucker upside down for twenty yards. But at twenty yards as about all I could hang on the twenty one yard, Mark. I was asked over TC KENDALL. And he was putting the hook prints on my ass. I don't think to make another drink 'cause I'm happy empty over here. But it life, and I'm an optimistic person glasses half-full, right figured this. You know? We'll see of sudden, I turn it key. I know you're probably not a religious person as am I and I'm gonna tell you there may be a God. Because that motherfucker started spending a rotisserie, chicken and kicked off. It was the fucking miracle was going to say I notice he didn't call me for any automotive help out savvy. I am with stuff. Yet. Don't give me this. Out of myself. Well, you have some problems, right? Did it just a litany of problems? I mean, the I I was letting my my helper smy workers drive the Ford, and I was popping around in the dodge. And I told you he rear ended another truck on his way to the landfill. Boy ahead driving. I got that phone call and they hit only gone like four hundred dollars down the street. We're still on the same street. So I pull up and he comes running over to many goes. Hey, man. It's okay. He's not gonna call the cops. And I'm like, all right. So, you know, I walk up, you know, saying, hey, MENA all take care of everything my card and the guys like three sheets to the wind will shit. No wonder he doesn't want to call the cops. Pristine ninety five single cab Ford f one fifty that. I'm so proud of that. I haven't washed in about four years because I don't give a shit. You know now now has a big crease in the grill in the front bumper. So I figure it's time to put the dodge. And because that started rattling, and my mechanic said, well, you know, with the mileage it's got on. It's probably the timing chain. Choi drop that off and then I started driving the work truck. And dude you step on the breaks and the God damn steering wheel was going about six inches to the left them six inches to the right like nine o'clock, three o'clock, three o'clock when you step on the breaks. And I'm like what the fuck, and you can feel the front end shaking. And I'm like Troy, why didn't you say something? He's like do gold just figured, you know, that was you know, that was normal for it. I'm like, that's the way it is. You know, but I hadn't driven a long so two thousand dollars later. My dodge come on dodge down the shop, and I jump in it. And that thing sounds like it's running on about four cylinders. I'm like this. This is worse than when I brought it in will just driving around little bit. It'll it'll probably work its way out probably workers out. So of course, then I dump the. That one. Yeah. Dumped afford in and say, hey, you know, what this things, you know, pulling when I break it shaken. You know, just do what you gotta do. You know, you you step on the break in theory. You shouldn't have about five inches of travel before those breaks grab whole, you know. So I'm like dude just work at do your do your stuff, and I'll try to drive the clunk out of this dodge well shit. I drive that thing for about four days. And I call my mechanic, just matter in hell, I'm like do this this things this ain't going to do it. We'll come come get your Ford, man, you're ready to go. So make the swap drop it back off. He's got it for two and a half weeks. And he finally calls me up. And he says we'll man we we did this. We did that come get it. So I go and pick it up and it still doing the same thing, and he's hike eighty that's that's pretty much the best I can do. But you don't own me anything for all the work that we've done. Yeah. So it's like. How do you hear south Texas mechanic give you that land? Want to work on this thing.

It's like what did you do? Not too bad. Spoke earlier, man, you know, you're you're single you need to live live the life. I'm living the life. Yeah. I had it by the tail last night, it, you know, I'm just sitting there and gone. You know, have you ever ever taken a poll on a drinking win got Democrats? Good. Hang on. Bitten good. All these people. These these young millennials coming up, I'll say Monterey shin is a key. Fuck moderation. Come fifty four years old so fucking. I got more on a four year old thing of the midlife crisis bit. I've come up with please tell me ten as you took the dogs out to piss none of new the business outside. You didn't just pull her out and pissing, the backyard, edgy you. Go fucking super country on me. Think I won't do it. I mean, I usually. Usually, you know, come inside during the daylight hours. But you know, people can see the location, so there's a couple of strategic hiding places I'm like man because I'm used to being out the ranch Stewart you could bench anywhere out there. So I said fuck us, and I'm kind of around the country. But I still kind of technically have neighbors do us won't build a piss you front yard. That's a whole keyed privacy. Right, dude. Absolutely. And you know, I'll showered out in my front yard one time. Different different story because you know, I'm on I'm on a water will gap being and I had them from the lumber yard. Bikes and bureaucrats: getting the shot in Beijing

"S we approach the fiftieth season. I thought we take a look back at some of the programs memorable stories this year and today, let's hit to China on ABC TV a few months ago, you might have seen foreign correspondents investigation into China's homegrown rubbish crisis and didn't happened with some startling images about China. Correspondent Bill Birtles just at side. Beijing walking between thousands of dumped bicycles will sometimes in China. It's the easiest shots that are the hardest to film and Bill Birtles found out the hard way. But never underestimate the sees Beijing bureau, I'll let Bill till the story in Beijing there up lace military armed police security guards. And even volunteer neighborhood, watch types everywhere, and they have one thing in common when they see a foreigner. And the camera first instinct is to shut us down recently. I tried to film a bike dumping ground. These are the places where local. Governments dumped tens of thousands of share bikes to clear them off city straights. They make for quite the visual shot, and it was a good example of Chinese overproduction and whites with heard of a massive dumping ground on the outer fringe of Beijing tens of thousands of bikes in yellow blue orange green all piled up as far as the I could see we drove up an adjacent road only to find to private security guards guarding the site. They said multiple gods. Took turns to guard the site, including at night worse yet the bike dumping ground is perfect for a drone shot. But when Steve Wang lighter tried to fire up his drone, it wouldn't fly. Beijing government enforces geo blocking on drones in the city. And it turns out this village was right on the periphery and still affected. So we left empty-handed. Having filed to film a single shot. It was not a good day. But a few weeks later we hatched a plan to go back. So it's about five in the morning here on the outskirts of Beijing, and we're on a bit of a covert mission of cameramen Brandt coming and the other Beijing KOMO Steve one with me. Brent how you feeling? Well, it's conditions could be better. But wait mart work in favor. And then it's it's quite early. And it's it's been whether it hasn't been great. So we're hoping the security is of this particular Artis leaving. This is going to make a quick escape a little bit harder for bogged down so to speak. We've got the getaway drive. A he hung Ming. His drive extraordinary. We've got the car. We're ready to go get mugged up here as we moved across the muddy field as quietly as we could power. Neue creek dean the move. The longer village down in that little gap on coming down this from towards the towards. The thing is we got up at three in the morning. It was a two hour drive to get here. We'd already come back empty-handed once before and we really wanted to get this story. I was not taking any chances to have it scuttled by a couple of bleary eyed security guards. As we need the bikes. We sheltered behind some hedges. It's one thing to get some quick shots. It's another to do a proper job of it, including a piece to camera and some aerials if as a Curie God us, so hurt us like county IVA getting the way and ruin everything as I went in -mongst the bikes with Steve one, I rehearsed pasty Hamra one of many dumping ground dotted around just hoped. My voice wouldn't be loud enough to alert the guards as we started punching out pieces to camera brand would to get the shots from the sky. If anyone can get around some technical problems withdrawn, he's the man and Stephen I got out shots the word of the drone taking to the sky. Above us made me realize we were half way towards getting the shots. We need at any point a God could come down and stop us. But it was becoming clear out gang. Able to come back so early in the day had paid off the guards were asleep. And after twenty minutes of uninterrupted filming we got out of there. So mission accomplished are on the way back. Fred you had a few struggles withdrawing, but you got it up there in the end. Yeah. Okay. We live and learn with these things. You know, we didn't go very high, and we didn't go very far. So hopefully, we won't attract any. Issues from doing that. And Steve Young men on the grounds shooting up close. How did that guy? Yeah. This is to be honest quite hard for us. And there is. Security guy, and we have to. Lead fun some pass, and and and get rid of them. So I think yeah, it's but it is perfect. Get everything. Yeah. But this is just a bunch of Boston Gul's in a field. Why why do you think is the security was so difficult to get what should be such an easy shot because this is China? So to be honest, they their job is stub us to fend fan of the place and the shoot at the report the news. And I think this is only job what what what they do. But we got it. Yeah. Yeah. Got it. Doing TV in China can be an uphill battle. Which makes the good days all the more enjoyable this Bill Birtles in Beijing. Because pundits report.
