The performance for the judiciary committee was pretty eye opening afternoons here on FM news, talk radio one three five and ninety four five ks are oh. Valley. Here's ks are rolling. Crystal clear FM at one zero three five. The beautiful sounded horribly loud. Whether that headed anything to do with the accident who knows? Ken says, Tom I can see immediately. The brakes of the original SUV were not adequate for higher gross weight. Jay says. Yeah. No one where seatbelts in the back of a limo. Randy. Thank you for waiting. Hi. Randy, welcome. You're on the Tom Sullivan show. A couple of years ago. My son and daughter were rear ended by big Rick. That was doing about forty five miles an hour. They were stopped on an off ramp. Woo buddy in the air or constellations instead depending on how quickly they're a little edge. Got brought up. E. Summer between seven and nine hundred instantaneous now, and you're doing that in flight if the gradual thing, even if it happens over like say three or four heartful, right? The body of the chance to adjust what happens in Infantino loading is the organs and an even larger muscle with most of the water ended up stretching and things break. And what happens on infancy acceleration? Is you end up with Oregon's crashing up against internal cavity. And they try to flatten out, and they lit, and it's basically what happens the kids. They're hit so hard that the CPAC. Snapping went full flat ended up in the back of the car all four cabs were stretched and pulled to the point where their legs were damaged my son caught his mom and almost toward off. It's very easy for bodies to come apart when they pass a certain pressure. So all these people crashing forward and piling into each other and bodies, our heart. You know, someone elba's? You're you get shoved in, you know, you'll feel bone fishing India's. It's not fun. They all piled up at the front of that. And it wasn't in any sort of orderly fashion or packing. Yes. I know. I know, but you know, going down the interstate highway system you see those off ranch where they had the big barrels to absorb a crash too. So that you, you know, have a chance you don't hit concrete you you quickly slow down. And those are those are designed to help slow vehicle down. But just to keep in mind that those are people that are facing forward heated and and built. Limos you're sitting sideways, the backseat flying forward shoulder and head first and next it's horrible. It's like picking the thing up and shaking, it your really no way to soften the blow is when people are not strapped in and also that this thing just before impact me bouncing up and down. I don't laugh tracks in the by. But it wasn't like a straight shot. People were all over the place. It just it just if it maybe I'm fascinated by terrible things. But I going nobody survived. Nobody. I would. At the Novi survive. And then my kids will almost to the point of of fatal worse at about forty five miles an hour. And I forget what it is. But I know you were you're in law enforcement. What's that calculation for determining force as you increase miles per hour. I think that another ten fifteen miles per hour. We're looking at a serious multiplication. Of course, there the. Yeah. Jesus hit. I used to I used to know all that stuff. But it was a lot. I'm a go. Go efficient of friction is what you're talking about. And yeah, there are calculations that you can do about coefficient victory to figure out the speed of a vehicle. From just it's tire marks from the skid marks and all of that. And how far they are. But. So just to finish the story are your kids. Okay. Yet took them a couple of years to recover. My son's bicep has finally mended to the point Rican lift at least fifteen pounds with it. My daughter ended up with a problem with the disk and her neck. Which is understandable. They have some lingering effects, but they're they're alive. They're alive. Good for them. Wow. There were one of those little itty bitty cars and hit by a by a big rig. Hey. I don't know. You never know what you know when you have a. You never know when you're going to get into an accident. That's why they're called accidents. But I'm glad to hear your kids are fine. But that's it's also interesting about just the fact that you're Oregon's inside where you have. Well, we have a rib cages everything else to protect our organs. But it's also someplace where the Oregon slam up against the inside of a ribcage. I guess I don't know. I saw a lot of accidents. I've never seen anything like this. And usually somebody lives or a bunch of people live, but I mean for every single person to die. I don't know. This is going to be a case.

"Now back to the dry with Steve Jackson. Thank you. But I'm not Steve Jackson. I'm Pete fo-, piano. We gotta tell Kevin, you know, it's like we got a different guest host today. But I think I'll let Joe our producer make that call. I'm gonna stay out of it. Anyway, welcome back to the drive as I said, this is Pete sitting in for Steve Jackson today, and we are joined by our resident theater critic, Harry Duke, and Harry you brought a couple of guess with y'all turn over you. And let you introduce them. Thank you Pete. As our audience knows the new theater season is in full swing and joining us today are representatives of these sonoma's arts live production of Hello. Dolly we are joined by director, Michael Ross, Harry and actor Sherry Pearl fugit. Hi, welcome guys. Thanks. Now, this is probably one of the most well known icon ick theater shows of the lasts sixty years. Definitely in the top five for the two people who don't know it. People know, I'm sure they know the song they'll recognize the title. But let's talk about the plot of the show. Michael, what does the show about the show is about a woman who basically medals at a lot of lives and finally decides to pursue her own life? Again, she is a widow she has helped a lot of people. And now she's decided to rejoin the human race for folks who might recognize that plotline it's based on a fourteen wilder store. Exactly story is the matchmaker. Matchmaker. And that's what Dolly Levi is does. She is an accident. Among other things. And this is of course, a musical. Yes. And what songs would we recognize except for the title to from this show? You will probably recognize if you are a fan of Wally put on your Sunday clothes, which was featured very prominently in that film. How many years ago was that? I'm not sure, okay. Anyways. Providence. Prep-work? It only takes a moment. You'll probably be familiar with that. Let's see. Hello. Dolly. Of course. Alec insincere elegance. Yes. It is. It's a pretty pretty weather number neglected to mention before the parade passes by that's because it's just the biggest song. Yeah. Anyway. Okay. So this is the opening production of the season for what was it about this show that interested you as a director as you've mentioned earlier, it's an iconic piece. And so when it's an iconic piece, but it's such a well told story at such a well written story that it's a lot of fun telling it in terms, and who'd you have telling it Danny beam who you may remember from last year's production of gypsy. It's arts live is playing Dolly Levi Dolly Gallagher Levi, she goes by a lot of different names around the production. Tim Setzer is down to Gelder who was also in gypsy. And then as the the other couple other than many Fe and Barnaby. We have Michael Scott wells, and his lovely wife Danielle Defoe of played Cornelius Hackel and Irene Malloy. And then, of course, Pearl and her cohort, Lorenzo also are mini Fe and Barnaby Tucker. So Pearl tell us about many Fave who folks might not know that character. She someone who talks a mile a minute. All she does is talk and panic the honestly it's such a fun role to play and it can be diverse when you kind of metal with Michael is giving me some great direction with the character itself, adding different layers and just the Siri typical mini fan. How she talks just talks and talks, and how is your chemistry with Barnaby. It's fantastic. I've worked with Lorenzo ally. And it's really nice to know someone and to it's my first time having eleven chess on stage, and I'm really happy on. I know. Well, let's talk about that for a second. How challenging is that for performer? I was very nervous as very scared to begin with. But it's not as difficult when you sort of get in touch with the character and start becoming the character your lesson touch with those anxieties that you're having inside you and your more just the character itself. That's kind of how I try to approach things. I'm not Pearl. I'm many Faye. In the show. I'm in this life and going along with the story cool. So let's talk about the setting costumes, and what else folks can expect to see on the road restated Andrews, we do manage to so Hello Dolly travels from Yonkers to New York to a upscale restaurant in New York and back to a feed store in Yonkers. So we do manage to get all of those scenes and sets in there on that little tiny stage costumes for the cast of there. It's an over. It's a it's a daunting overwhelming job. It's a big show. And I we only have eighteen cast members which is a fairly small cast for if nine principles in nine ensembles. So it's a fairly small castle passes by passes by again familiar faces. Yes. And talk about the music. So the music we have for any of you who've been to snow Mars five, you know, that we are sized challenged as far as how much physical space we have to work with. So we have opted to use prerecorded tracks for the show. It's working out. Really, really? Well. The the there recorded with live musicians, and they're very well arranged numbers. And so it does sound like there is a rather lovely orchestra playing for this show. So I get the sense that if you had a a full cast as the shows originally designed for a full orchestra as the shows originally designed for you'd have room for an audience of about three, exactly. Absolutely true. They would have really great seats right in the middle of the right in the middle of everything. In a couple of shows are seen it on March live the action often uses the stage, or excuse me, the the house floor you have the stage area, and then you have the house floor area. How's it set up here? So I have used a little bit of the house floor. There is a thrust. That's that's been built onto the stage. Which is something that extends the stage out about four feet from where it originally is. And then I use about another six feet of the floor in front of that thrust. So there is in particular inharmonious gardens there are two different private dining rooms. And so in order to create those two different private dining rooms and not have them be three inches from each other. I had to use I had to use some of the house space to do that. Okay. So you open tomorrow night. Yes. Through October.

"This Musburger voice of the raiders on K SRO. Now back to the drive with Steve Jackson. Barrier. Go raiders, right. It is for seven on your Friday drive. The great K J executive. Chef Justin Wang ler with us from KENDALL Jackson. Always a pleasure, man. It's been awhile. Thanks for having me. Thanks for coming in. Sorry. I was like traffic. No. You weren't. You know, you you're on time. You were sliding today's Mike just wasn't sure. Whether he had confirmed with you because you said in attacks Daikin can do for Friday at four and then he didn't get back to say. Oh, great. See you. Then once the I don't care if he's okay? Because we were worried. I I'm blown away by this book, which I had heard about. But I have never seen. You brought me a copy it's called season a year of wine country food farming family and friends by Justin wangling, along with Tracy shampoos Cinelli. Yup. Tracey choice. Yes. Yeah. Because it's a talian, right? Exactly is a C H. And you should also know that Tucker Taylor is a big part of that book. I looked down and it said with culinary Gardner. And I thought it said Tanya Tucker. Well, at least she's busy these days. I know it's Tucker Taylor. We also know armour t. This is the guy who before he came to KENDALL Jackson. Oh, I don't know he may have planted and cared for the garden at the French laundry. I mean, this guy is considered a rock star star star. And what he's done at KENDALL Jackson is only expand upon it in such a beautiful way who did the photography. This is outrageously great Alan Campbell. So he's a local guy here county. Yeah. I've worked with him shoot. I've worked with him since I was at off or Josh has a funny story. He actually they asked me to do this photo shoot. And there is like for some trade magazine. And they made me hold this Bagga eggs like three kicked tags right now. Okay. The picture. And then I was like, you know, I was hand model status at that point. Then then when they caught the picture they put it on a women's bodies. Extra hard time. That's where the rumor that you have very little hands started. Gives me a hard time about that. But I've worked with him for about eighteen years now. So he's great raising these days photos K J bottle shots. I gotta tell you something this book, which is kind of the size of a small table. But not not overly heavy really does present a kind of modern cinema county. Look, right. I have rarely seen somebody that that kind of reflected the entire community at its best. And not I mean fancy, but gorgeous and really cinema county. Well, I think that you know, everybody that works on the book was the local. So they got it. And what we're going for the companies out of peddling. They understand the field. You know, they said the Napa Valley look, and we went for a little more cinema cabinet right now. It's called season a year of wine country food farming, family and friends, and they're not kidding either. Because it goes spring summer, and whatever the other. Keep this fall. And winter, of course. But you what do I? Win win the glass of wine. Take a look at that list of recipes just the length of the list, right? And notice that the longest list is in winter because in the summertime you eat a peach, right? You drink a glass of wine, but in the wintertime, you might wanna go it's I think that that's kind of brilliant. That's something. We don't always think about. And it's fun because it is organized best season because that's how we live in wine country. You know, it's all about the season. It's all about the harvest, and we'd drink seasonally and our wine preferences changed, but the temperature out there, and it was a fun way to to do a book. But it did take us a year and a half to make the book because Tucker actually grew all those vegetables. Are not a lotta people grow everything that they're putting their books. So well, what I like about it also is that, you know, one of the one of the things that people really love about cookery books are the little stories and introductions and tips and all that stuff. Well, there are gardening tips and snipping your herb tips and all kinds of stuff like that that relates to Tucker Taylor making magic available to all these wonderful. Chefs disorganized each season has a party. So we basically share you. How to kick a menu for a party? And then we have seasonal. Yeah. I'll wind pairing master Saami. Michael Jordan did all the wine pairings for us. Which was cool. I know her. Yeah. That's that's. She's been around here in kitchens in cinema county and in northern California for a long long time. She's in the studio, I oil local she was Mark Starks partner and chef for longtime. So she ran all all the restaurants. She had a kid and was looking for a little change of pace. So she's been with us for almost nine years baked zucchini with Federal Reserve lemon, butter and crispy bread the photo alone. I may eat the photo, actually, they're all scratches Neff. It's really good. They should be. This should be a little flavor. Oh my God. This is truly amazing. Do you just want to have all of it? I one of the things I don't like about food photography. Usually is that you it. They take the photograph. It seems to be dated. And that doesn't feel that way. It feels like you know, that this is forever. So so one thing that was cool is when we first started testing, the recipes, I went home, I test a recipe and it took me about two and a half hours. I this huge stack of dishes. I'm the executive dishwasher at my house. All these dishes. And I was like man, I would never cook this at my house again. And I and we kinda took a step back and said, hey, who are we writing this book for you know, what why we wonder why people are actually gonna get to cook at home by about cook? They can invite some friends over, you know. So we took a step up dishes and get call Justin. That was what we did. We know we realizing it when I kick at home a lot of the stuff I use one pan. You know? So we we definitely have some simple recipes. There's a few there aspirational in there. Most of the most of that's better. But pastry recipes always take some more buttercup, right? This is the nickname of a grown person. I mean, which one the pastry chef. Oh, yes. I know buttercup to I I'm just saying I haven't seen a lot of you folks now. Well, we didn't get the call. I gotta ask this question. Undamaged eggs with herbs and horseradish. Again. I'm going to eat the photo, what are undetonated because I loved after the exorcist. We're just trying to come up with. Really great right writer, and we we love the idea of deviled eggs. But again, you know, it's a little bit of work to take it all tried it last year, and I drove myself nuts. Just get an egg. That's that's a really fresh farm magazines. They've done and hard boil it but not too heavily. Yeah. So we just kick it a little bit less and then instead of having an pulled ingredients out, and we just had a vinaigrette and horseradish and fresh herbs over the top. So super simple knife. You still get that flavor? And but with a little less work trying this one this weekend. What are the things I love is the first the first ingredient in many recipes that come from chefs really ought to be. I you get a sous chef. Right. I mean, this book is not like that. But there's some thirty minute meals in there. And there's some fun stuff. There's like pickled dip. I mean, there's you know, there's some stuff that's just fun to. Tracy talks about cheese. He's she went to she's school in Vermont. She spends a lot of time, I know Tracy from jeez. More than I know her from kitchens. She's amazing. She's a cheese folk. Yeah, she's a cheese monger, we call her the Cartner white chocolate. Jozy moose tartlets. Yeah. Easy as Japanese. So that would be one of the recipes you can simplify their we talked about that in the recipes to like if you wanna make this. Yeah. Like that one take some time. But it's pretty easy. Like, this one's braised lamb belly. Because we buy the whole lamb from Joe Valero. And he actually keeps the lamb on the property in the back. So he's a lotta whole animals. So we basically gave you recipes to cook. Oh, most of the land. What are ramps ram, sir wild spring onions mostly mountain? Yeah. Very very popular..

Intersection really slammed thirty-seven just about halfway between the bridge and the first stop late at lakeville continued slow alpacas one Twenty-one and heading through Santa Rosa, pretty crowded as well as southbound from river road and northbound delays start right around a golf course and Wilfred and at your drive traffic. I Michael Green in the K SRO traffic center. Musburger voice of the raiders on. Now back to the drive with Steve Jackson. Okay. We're coming in a little early because we got a lot to do. It's bruise news. Brought to you by Willoughby Willoughby's, Mike. Yeah. You don't have to run a right now. Want some paper towels all through? Martin actually went and picked up some killer. Local beers. Actually. Yes. Very cool. Our guest today. I'm Bruce news. Brought to you by Willoughby's Luma in Santa Rosa is Austrian beer blogger Martin avoid welcome and great to meet you. Thank you for sales as we would say in Australia. Okay. Say that again, Saville's salvos the. Just a high like you would say. A greeting guests. Yeah. Okay. Welcome to your Austrian. Lesson to learn more. You told me out outside that you're the only beer blogger in Austria. Makes no sense. Shame isn't it. How is this possible? I I don't know. You know, you can't swing a dead cat out in the park. A bunch of beer bloggers from here, I'm not even real Austrian aborting German so and moved to Austria fourteen years ago. So there's only one guy blogging about beer in Australia, and he's a German. Wow. That is so bizarre. Tell us about Austrian beer. I mean, what's the difference between German and Austrian beer, and they must do some great stuff for sure they do. First of all, the Austrian and the German beer, see, and they have the same routes. There's a long history in brewing beer in Germany, and in Austria, it's probably more or less the same routes. They share so Australia has lots of. Breweries midsize breweries that have long heritage of brewing. And of course, they've they've prove the classical beer styles. Explained classical beer styles from for example, American medicine eighty percent of the beer sales and Australia's Madsen beer. And that's what they use for October fast. Right. As the classic. Style a beer brewery. It's a style of beer. Okay. Like, a headless M A R Z E N. So you'll actually see that on your accounts out there. Yeah. Eighty percent of the beer sold in Austria is still this lager. Beer. Of course, we have some pills. But fulfillment small the gem that do the style. But during the last decades in Germany, the major brands took over the all the small breweries tip all them right away from from the spot and just we had only let's say four to five major companies buying all these small breweries. So the most vicious all the small ones got wiped out in Austria has been happening. A lot around the world, but not as Austria, really, we still have a smaller breweries midsize breweries that existed for many many years and Austin's are used to buy beer from the local brewery, they want the beer from their local brewery. So which makes it a lot easier on one hand four for the Austrians to to to get into the craft beer because they used to have local breweries instead of mass production beer hike. Saudi high-quality, recycle the bottles. They bring the master so their neighbors. So it's it's more or less like the the the craft beer revolution is going on all over Europe. But on the other hand as they are so used for many many years to buy beer from the local brewery, they stick to this brewery, so for new smaller breweries, it's quite hard to to break. Those walls down track them with new beer styles. Of course. Germany and in Austria. Craft beer is a big thing of the market share still. Let's say Germany, it's a little bit higher than in Austria. But it still way below five percent. So. I'd like to though, I mean like, so like everywhere I go in Europe, they crave American bear, especially California, Barron, which is I guess partially. Why you're here? Right next question. What did they think about American beer and his log anita's? It was well known and Russian river just go to distribution in in Vienna. So Marcus that what was the last week he's the distributor for like anita's for. Let's say six months now. Kafia festival Lagunillas had his own booth there and were sending spears and then in Vienna. So it depends who you're talking to somebody who knows about craft beer he will say that. USPA is quite one of the best beers. You can get in the world. But those via drink has never been into craft beer. They would say or think about this physi- lagers that you get from the the major brands and the lack of taste, and what about the IP as that. Everyone loves here. I mean the. Yeah. Sure. People love Hoppy beers. We have the variety of of beer styles that you can get here as well. So it's not not really that you need to go to the US for getting a good. But when you when you're on Facebook, social media, and you read about those American beers. You one day you want to get them in your hands. And of course, many many breweries don't ship to to to Europe of quality reasons. So you have to go here come here and taste the be here. That's why I'm here. And you're here for a couple of weeks, just two weeks only. But I think intense two weeks, he visited Sierra Nevada brewing and Chico already. Yeah. I took them over to Russian river brain introduced him to Brian hunt for moonlight. And he got to do a nice video interview with Brian. What you think about those bears at all? This was an awesome night out with Brian. It was. Crazy beers that he had the non hop bears. The as the dark Larter he did and talking to him was like opening a book, and he's reading from the first page to the last. Quickly. The difference between Germany and Austria, not beer wise. But just in general because a lot of us, I always figured Austria was part of Germany, but it's a whole separate country. It's a whole separate country to put it in into to relationships. Australia is. Probably one fifth of California. We have size-wise and small place is this small place. Yeah. But has a lot of mountains. The gems go there to to ski, and there's a little rivalry going on between Austria and Germany. I would think so because the Austin's always think that the germs look down on them as they under brother, and they don't take them for series, which is not true at all. But it's always when you have a smaller one looking up to the big one Germany's ten times bigger than Austria. So yeah. This kind of rivalty, and there are a lot of jokes between the germs and the Austrians, but never take into serious. Yeah. That's like Michigan and Ohio. I grew up in Michigan, and we ate Ohio and Ohio as us and the British and Irish probably the access similar. He is Martin Voight. The only believe it or not only Austrian beer blogger. When are you leaving four four Germany for foster when are you leaving here? He goes down to San Diego Saturday. He's gonna go see the San Diego Chargers. Play some football. And thank God. Chargers Los Angeles. Chargers. Just baseball giants. The change the French. Yeah. They moved LA. There's no football team in San Diego. Yeah. So that was the reason I was asking us as I was hoping you could come back next week. But I guess. I will be there in San Diego. Can you stick around for the next segment here brouhaha? Yeah. Sure. Okay. We'll make room. We've got dogs. We've got a bunch of folks about to come in. We'll take a break. We'll come back. Yeah. The monk Dr brouhaha again bruise news brought to you by Willoughby's got.
