"All right ladies and gentlemen welcome to the s w is the steve horne. Project is a sports on whatever. It's a show that already had a pretty vague game plan to start with and then jimmy chiming in each day. Removing all attempts at occas content. But we're having a blast all the same each and every weekday a little audio therapy for the insane world. we're in. It's steve worn. It's jim jerome. Schmooze ended up. Thank you for being with us. We hope you enjoy the show. James how is the weekend while. I was a what i was going to get to it right away at the start here in show but it was so freaking long. I forget what happened now on the the guy who goes for five minutes at a time. Okay i guess fifteen minutes well now. We have forty five seconds. You know. I'll tell you the king of the attention span. Here's the deal with halloween. Okay the inflatables right. Whenever they came out ten years ago or whatever okay and they were kinda cool okay but now people are just absolutely fricking lazy every yard. I saw yesterday driving around trying to pick off some kids. I got candy. I what i do is because no one comes to my house. So i just buy a bunch of candy and i just drill it out of the window on the way by a couple of apples and shit like that too right. But the inflatables are out enough of the inflatables. Okay it's just it's lazy. Okay you're totally taking the shine off. Halloween i want to i want the stuffed scarecrow and shit like that steve the bills. A hey okay. You know stuff like that. I want the other thing is right. Folks used to take out halloween. Stevie in in llewellyn park and they love doing it steve because they got a cocktail at every single house. They went to in the neighborhood. Nice just got fricken hammered on halloween night. It was hilarious so we get. It was like a big party. But i don't see any of that anymore. Halloween is completely disappointed for okay. I didn't get one kid here. Sixth halloween big giant bowl. I ate half of it. Nobody came to get it. It's just it's time to move on. I think is sixty two and a half miles from the next house. I'm like sixty seconds romantic. It's not like we're that far. You get one in six freaking years anyway..

"Of going. Yeah can i ask you one more question. Like yeah he's one more one more thing. Why was the kitchen door. Open if if you said so you. When oliver is gonna do is he just going to annoy the shit out of anyone that he's asking questions are so they just go fine. I killed her. Take me away. I'm done with these questions. You did give me an idea. you did. Give me an idea though because when i am promoting this show and they're asking me about the role which they always do. I'm gonna say that. I sort of base. My character off of colombo. I think that's a really fun because all the kids are talking about colombo are you wearing a trenchcoat in this funny okay. Well let's go back one. No no actually i like. I like my wardrobe. I have a beard long hair. T shirt jeans. He's a sort of an ot g fbi special agent. You know what. I mean off the grid. So that's perfect for you. You go out there or the beard yourself Well my hair was longer and eight and they chopped it a little bit. And then i came to the table read in front of the network and the studio and everything shaved my beard but had a full on mustache. I was like. Let's see how this. Because i would love to have a moustache and it was sort of a fifty fifty deal and so they said well you can keep the mustache but at least grow in the sides a little bit. Because did you want to incorporate some kind of a running your fingers through the stash. Oh yeah yeah yes is how this guy thinks you know Man kojak lollipop. You have a below nose hair All right so she's mad. I have a bone to pick with you up. An interesting word oliver. The word that you just brought up is priority. Now why would i be bringing up the word priority. Okay can i. I mean look. I know what went down and we need to give it to you. Yeah yeah no we we talked about. Are we talking about the same thing where he so you talked about it which is great so you heard his side which is awesome. We popol zits here. Babe we popalzai fits popalzai. It's there nothing is off limits. You haven't heard my friend if the actual three minute and twenty four second hall of fame speech which we would like to play for you. Okay and i want you to listen unbiased. If possible. And give me your candid and honest thoughts at the end of it. Okay can mess week for listeners out there that did not. let's just give them a little. Refresher joe came on and said oh how you said. How does it feel hall of fame or do you feel different. No i doubt. And here's why. Because i forgot to mention my wife's name but what i did do in my three minutes and twenty four seconds speech was. I told everyone about our love story. I basically did everything and said everything but her name. Yes okay. that's where we will leave it. Okay to listen to his speech. We're gonna listen to it. But i want to say one thing before this speech starts now. Let's math mcqueen. Mathematically break this down for a second three minutes and twenty four seconds. We're going to equate that to joe's entire careers of broadcaster. Okay where does michelle visner fit into that. Three hundred twenty four that three minutes twenty four seconds. You know what. I mean so. It's a long career now. Had been a part of europe important part. Obviously but you're short part. Let's let's get mathematical for a sector. Just digging. i hold deeper. I'm telling you that you're not helping. You're not helping me at all. Let's be clear about this. I have said many times since this hall of fame speech happened. I know this was not intentional. I know you had triple zeros. And a somebody telling you to get the health stage. I understand that but you just listened to the whole thing and said this is not about me it is. I don't wanna sound like some narcissistic asshole. I love you. I think you're beautiful. Your body's really great. I love your new boobs. Everything i love it all but it is about you. It is about you because he you know how much he loves you. You know how he was. He was exalted in. Sort of speaking about you and just forgot your name. Why did it matter because you care what other people think. That's it now just does it. Just listen to the speech and then we'll talk. Okay play keep it clear your mind. Any sort of bias thoughts of any opinion from further conversations. That might contribute to your listening abilities to be completely free. Clear an oaken okay. All right all right. Yeah just you can tell by my pace. What my mindset. Okay all right. I'm going to be quick. I'm only got two minutes so here we get all. I'm fifty two and learn. It's all about luck. "Sultan Dynasty. Get to five hundred five. Serves I tunes to some of my crazy goals so please do me a favor going on. I tunes subscribed give a five star review. If you can write we liked by the show. That'd the even better and this is a live show so please ask your questions for call the answer. You're ready all right. So first question is what got you into real estate. Ah I got into real estate. And he doesn't five I'm a native born and raised and graduated high school. Two thousand five knew that I did not want to you go to college and real estate easiest thing to do. He just skipped college. Yeah didn't even try. No all right so two thousand five So that's before four before the crash till I tell people it was like The moment on the roller coaster. When you're on the very very top and you don't really feel going up anymore but you haven't fully started the decline and saw okay? That was October. Two thousand five is when I got my license. Gotcha and you just did buyer seller spent the first three years of the business buyer-seller transactions you. You know you were in the business Around that time and seven. Yeah that's what inventory started to really build up so there were a lot of houses on the market there are a lot of agents in the space Because two thousand one through five there was a big run up so many other real estate license houses are trading super high super fast and so- trailing that we had a huge amount of inventory Tori on the market Not As many buyers loan started to get harder to get during that period of time And so you know I was eighteen. Nineteen twenty years old trying to convince they used me as a real estate agent. And so Yeah just doing buyers. And then I actually got into REO game for for quick minute did you. I had no idea so I can't even picture for some time but I didn't know you back then I came in imagine you working with buyers and sellers. Yeah what was that experience like. You know I had to do it. It was a means to an end. I knew I wasn't going to do it forever but You Know I. I've told people this before I had a kid really young. If you WANNA find motivation have have a kid at nineteen. You don't want failures and much of an option at that point you gotta work. Can you gotta make it work. You have to be successful. Gotcha okay so then two thousand five. You're licensed you're doing on the deals and then you transition. Reo Yeah so I actually went and worked for an OREO agent so He had an an account with countrywide at the time which was still bank back then and chase and Bank of America and beat No. This was Steve Horne okay. Who has since moved on to Texas right And so I came on. I was kind of his right hand. Man and that's that's that's valuing properties a lot of the the people that are in the space today they probably don't even know what the term PPO means. And I used to get to the office every day around four thirty. In the morning I would print a list of thirty properties. Driving that day I would drive off thirty properties. Go back to the office office and then I would do a BPO on thirty different properties. The for people that don't know peo is broker price opinion because basically it was a cheap appraisal for the bank. I was getting ten to twenty bucks. Kirby Peo- so I was doing five to six days a week twenty to thirty a day And then listing the the inventory with Steve We that that's what really really got me ready for the investment side of the business. Because I was having to take a look at an asset in current condition and then compare it to the market because every bpo you'd have to have three comparable properties And value that asset for the bank and then they would tell you if they prove the list price or not right And that's really what got me. Set up for for Valuing Real Estate Really Fast Aso when were you doing the REO business nine and ten Really late oh eight. Two thousand nine and this is before you were at.

"Now, you're you. I was gonna say Steve, this story about Carlson and money. You know I'm net flicks guru now. Right. I'm the go-to guy for now. You're, you know I got I got a call yet. They're on Dr foster that did not end. Well in the second season I was on board with you in the first season and I just thought all second season. So you're always burying me on bad recommend. Nations. I m putting Dr foster in bad recommendation category. Right now what I forget what happened in the second season. I watched them month or two ago. I guess you don't want to spoil. I mean talking to the camera all of a sudden, you know, the the at the end she starts talking to the camera. What is that about that was set up a new season Steve? They got they got a tease you a little bit for a new season. There's another show. I've started watching. I watched a few if it doesn't grab me right away. I'm out right? I don't have very good attention. However, when you bring up this thing about money with air Carlson. And it reminds me of the show, started watching called what if on that flex, and I've seen that it's essentially a young couple with, with the girl trying to trying to make it in the pharmaceutical business, and she's come up with an idea of a life saving pill. Right. And, but she needs to she needs to get back and forth and can't. And she gets a deal of really creepy lady. She was Steve shoes in the. You got me at Hello, Jerry Maguire. Yeah. I'll think of her name in a second. Yeah. Who's by the way, is unrecognizable from what used to look like. Although looks good, but you won't recognize her from her old face. She's at a bunch of as work. Hey way, the deal is she's going to give this chick eighty million. Okay. Eighty million bucks. It's an old play on a movie that Demi Moore was in with. I want to say where do you Harrelson where the guy offered a million bucks to sleep with his wife indecent proposal indecent proposal. And that's what it was Renee. Zellweger. That's who are dealing. Renee, Zellweger makes says, all put eighty million into your company and, but I get to get to. Trash your husband for night, you know for twenty four hours. Okay. I have my way with them. And in the, you know, in the beginning of the series, so they agreed to do it. You know, the agreed to do it. So what, what would you do for money? You know what would you do for money? And when I eighty million they weren't going to do it, and I'm like, are you nuts? And I'm thinking, what would I do? Steve, what would I do for dough? I'd give up. I'd give up my wife were about eighty five hundred. I think. I'd like to think your price, tag would have been a little higher than that. No, eight or nine grand, you know, fast eight nine ten jeez. Okay, do it. So it's all about the money Steve. It's all of. Oh. Anyway, I don't know if that shows it looks weird. I watched a few episodes, but I watched that one episode to, but the thing was about it, and I watch the same episode, sir. Renee, Zellweger is in the Robert Redford character and indecent proposal makes this indecent proposal, the first twenty million dollars changes hands after the first night, but it doesn't look like the guys had a very good night at all. And I'm at the stage now I don't know what's happened, but it certainly didn't look like a, a soft romantic evening because he comes home. His knuckles are all bloodied. He seems mentally scarred for life on what has happened here and they still haven't told us yet. The deal is the deal is for the dole. They have to sign a contract is he's never allowed to talk about anything about that night with right? So that, that, that would be in future shows. I may have to tune in again, just to see how they play that out. I like the lead actress she's great. She's really good. She's I haven't seen her before. But I've had a bad string, Steve. Okay. I've had a bad thing. You're the only one that didn't like Dr foster really. Oh, yeah. But, you know, my old favorites are Shetland. And the fall is an incredible show. A bunch of other ones. What's crappy now is animal kingdom was good. The first couple years. I don't know if you watched it. No, the third season's absolutely stupid. So don't waste your time on that one minehunter didn't do it for me. And everyone was talking about that. Didn't like it. Not very good deli. Crime Steve, good show. Good show. There's my Netflix deal for keep going to friends. Like we keep trying to start new shows we're going to get back into billions in a second certainly later this year into peaky blinders again, as it renews new season but we keep trying new things. And then going man, this, I'm not feeling this one. And then my wife always turns it over to friends. So I'm nearing the end of friends finally, but one of the things that I've noticed in, in, in the last season is Matthew, Perry appears to be on crack or something. Face in this final season and I don't I had no recollection of this in a few episodes. He looks like I dunno death warmed over. It's unbelievable but he seems as, as a final season goes on and gets healthier and healthier. But I think he did run into some addiction issues, but his face was all messed up. He did. He came forward with the I'm addicted to painkillers thing. Which is okay? But usually there's more behind that. I don't know. Maybe he looked like he's addicted to coffee. He's like latte about five barrels of coffee before he went on on the show. Right. Friends. You're still watching that. My wife is I'm just sort of going long. I hate Schwimmer anyway. You know that I could never want that. Just drove me bananas. Yeah. On that show anyway deli crime. My new my new. Suggestion who's in that for net flicks. We'll shot in India. So they're all actors and actresses, I didn't know before, but it's a good show. I just I clicked now the one I finished last night Stevie, I think is really good was shot in two thousand sixteen with this chick, now's really famous. Her last name is comer COM ER. She's from Britain in a show called thirteen. Was shot night, the shot, I think in twenty sixteen where she was objected and held and kidnap for thirteen years as objective as a thirteen year old came out when she was twenty six good story, only five shows, and they wrap up the whole story in their never heard him. It's good. Maybe we should do a TV podcast instead of pretending to be a sports fought chest. Everyone loves Netflix. This Gert this Gert. They love to hear this. I get more comments on Twitter about Netflix than I do about anything. So K the Steve Horne project is now sports net flicks. Yes, that's the new whatever when you get down to it. I, sorta remind everybody that faces magazine is our title sponsor auto premier by monthly magazine that showcases the people places, and events, make Ottawa's such a world class city, lots of great sports features in the current issue like Thomas Shibat. Brian McGrath tennis star Bianca Andrea, ask you what a great story..

"Everything has to be regularly certified by you'll administrative authority, and they will have a test Achraf that will go and do that. Yeah. So just as the airplanes are required to every cert- certain amount of time, you know. Certify that they can actually do these kind of approaches you still have to have the navigational the other side of the thing has to be checked as well. Yeah. So. Did we? We do did did did you win the six pack or did you lose it? I suspect a fair amount of we going on the dredging vessel. I think maybe south Simon let us know. All right. Item three. We we got feeback from both Steve Hurst and Steve horn. He says, I know you will have already seen this video all over Twitter. But I formally put in my question anyway and trying to. Which which Steve Hurst, Steve Hurst, Steve Horne, just really descent the video in. Okay. Thank you. Okay. So the video here I'm gonna play. What is I'm trying to remind myself you Roman. Frankie you. Say British Airways. Dreamliner? Yeah. Okay. It's a normal landing. Well, abo- ING spelled your way mowing mowing. But yeah. So we already talked about this on a previous show. It may have been mentioned. But we we haven't had this. Okay. I just seems like it's like deja vu. I thought we talked about this seems like they tend to do that on regular basis. Yeah. Well, the conditions awfully windy conditions. That was during storm Eric at Heathrow when the when the airplane came in. And I do remember seeing just I tried to find it, and I couldn't a video from inside the cabin, and what they experienced when the thing was coming in on very short final of other runway and went at the point at which you see in the external video where the nose of the aircraft goes down, suddenly and then at that point, obviously the pilots initiate, they're going around procedure. And exactly what they're trained to do what we're trained to do. We're in a situation like that. And and you could hear a buddy in the cabin probably at the point where it goes negative g when the nose goes down, and they kind of go they and then when the main gear hits down, you can kind of hear some people screaming, and then the thing does ROY the engines roaring in and thing, you know, bleeding back up into the air that did not let line pilot input when that crop nights. And almost certainly an austere Goss. Yeah. And the only thing you can do is as they did. And as we talk about all the time on our show. That's not the. There we go. Some of the pets insurance too. At the same time. They were going around. Realm away. Go roud. All right. Haven't played that in a while. So thank you. Steve's for the question feeback and the video link. All right, wait. I think there's a question actually here. Putting aside all the media hype my sense from the responses on social media from professional pilots is that this is a well executed maneuver and actually not not that much of a big deal. But you guys think. Yeah, we agree would really be interested here. I mean, it could be a big deal. If that guest had had come at maybe a later stage in that landing sequence. And you know, praying the the nose wheel down I would have been a big deal. Yeah. If the pawn it hunt been quick enough to try and cushion that impact. It kind of them pretty damn phone in the last twenty feet of say, yes, he continues would be really interested. Now, we just talked about that don't know what really be interested here views in the maneuver, and perhaps you can talk through step by step the procedure itself, and what would be going through your mind in the final stages of the approach knowing the weather conditions..

"Passed before they did it again. And then did it again. No, they they actually have it set up almost like you were going through a car wash. Okay. You're you're a bad takeoff. That's where the trucks were. They were right on the runway. Okay. So you got the ice knowing between man, I'm glad you made it back in one piece anyway. The Super Bowl real real quick. I truly think that that's player on the field for both teams in my opinion. Tom Brady based on his past more importantly than anything else. One thing new respect for him. If you watch during the interviews this guy just having so much fun. And he reminds me so much Michael Jordan playing with a fever special folly that players like these guys have it very unique and he had to wear willing people to win. He makes everybody around him better. Losing with such attack. That I think they can do things on the field. This sunday. Nobody else can do your thoughts. I think you're right. And and and you know what? Well, thank thanks for the call. I also think I if if he wants to play till he's forty five he will now his wife and kids might say it's time to stop because you know, you don't you don't want to. That freaky diet. And may we all need to eat if it's gonna keep it at healthy. But yeah, it's. He is something special. I want to give me credit people who radio, but it's. We'd all take them in a heartbeat. If you could get our team into the postseason a couple of times. And it's it's funny. We say the same thing every year. With almost every quarterback. Gotta get pressure on him. You gotta hit them gonna make it feel the pressure. You gotta make a move. And he doesn't want to gonna make them throw. He doesn't want to stay at about Brady every single time. And and you know, he just he is nothing. He hasn't seen before you want. You know, he's got an answer for you wanna fake the blitz. He's got an answer for you. You wanna drop back in zone to take your part? If you come up too close, then then he'll let it go. Over your head. Go to JR in Philadelphia JR, you're on the fan. Underwriter what's going on? Not too much. I you know, after watching the Super Bowl for like fifty years what I'm thinking about the last two weeks is the most boring. Super Bowl in terms of the talking points. Like, how many times can you talk about breaking and Caskey makes you sick. I mean, the game has become so one-dimensional in terms of just the way it's played. I'm back to one one thing. I wanted to ask you a question. Are you gonna make cheaper bowl was actually Doug Williams? Nobody gave Douglas credit people saying the rose Williams. Good throw the ball downfield. And that was arguably the most one-sided Super Bowl Williams said one of the best performances in Super Bowl history. Yeah. Yeah. There were interesting talking points in the past, you know. I'm not even interested in new Super Bowl to watch. It. What would you what was sort of the most interesting people, not the best necessarily, but the most quirky. It's always pleasure. Thanks, go. Quirky. I was gonna say Doug Williams because that was historic. I think of all the black quarterbacks who were told you'll be a wide receiver. You'll be defensive back. Yeah. Even got. Now, you're gonna get chance it'd be a quarterback quirky. Shocking. I'd say was the jet win. Because I thought Baltimore what's going to win because they they blew everybody out there. Just everything was working flea flickers. I mean all year long like they had one loss. It lost the Cleveland and a crush them in the in the in the playoffs. And then you know, if you told me what the defense is going to hold a quote colts to seven points. I'm like get outta here. And if and if you told me the winning team is going to score sixteen that'd be like, no not. Saga quirky. That's a good one. A quirky. I don't have a quirky one. I just I just upset one with the jets e. Doug Williams in the Redskins. Most satisfying, my bucks one. Quirky. I guess the court found out later, you didn't know during the game. But when when they when when the chiefs beat the Vikings in Super Bowl four, and you you saw that. The highlights later with Hank Schram being wired. I mean that was hilarious. I mean. Particularly down the field. Him and his dapper jacket is rolled up program. That was that was that was Corky. Let's go to Justin and just Justin what's going on. How you doing? I talked to you last night about pack, y'all. I I didn't bring up, but you did it. I I know a long time ago when they fought you pick pack. Yeah. We'll get spoiled. So I think the whole the whole wall that know pack, ya was hurt again spoiled. So I know I know you pick him against Floyd in that fight whatever it is what it is. Rematch. Do you? Stay healthy pack, yell may weather. Yup. Still do I just style. And he still has some you still have speed. And you know, what it is? It's like something like Frazier Forman when they had their third fight they both past their prime, and and both these guys have passed their pry, but they're still on the same level. Whether they be fighters to go down, it's still on the same level. And I think pack ios and aggressiveness that a lot of guys. Don't have when they fight Floyd. You know, they stay back and let's find his own pace. And I think pack L even with the speed that he has he can put pressure on Floyd. But you know, you can't you know, it's it's gonna be a hard sell because you know, he's got the excuse. He did have a bad shoulder. But man, that's people. Spend a lot of money to watch the guy fight with a bad solar. How pay whatever I gotta pay to watch it. But. Tony. I love you. I mean, I. I guess I I wasn't interested. I mean, I wasn't interested. When in may, whether if what McGregor or the Japanese whatever that was. And I'm waiting for Floyd to say, well, if pack y'all beats Thurman than I'll fight him, and that's his way of saying he really doesn't want to fight anymore because I. Japanese guy, he looked broad in the back. It just looks like, you know, because you know, when you're when you're as a workout freak as he is. Because you got you know, you're gonna fight twice a year. You say in shape. He's not one of these guys are going to you know, blow up to two to one seventy the drought twenty pounds. But if they do a rematch. And you know, why people will buy it and will make money because it's the last chance for somebody to to to beat Floyd. Yeah. There's there's people that you know, they just I don't like a guy. So I want to see him Luke, Bob, I'll pay any amount 'cause I wanna see them lose. But I think pack has that style just shifting you. You can't mimic his training regimen in. But you know, that's why I was so so disappointed watching that fight being in the arena and all the hype for for months the excitement in the way in excitement at the the arena the bell rings, and then the air let's out of the balloon because nothing happened. We're all sitting there. Like now what? When why hasn't Paki throwing punches? I I was talking to Steve Horne was sitting next to me. And I said, I don't understand. He's got him cornered. Why is he you know? Why isn't he throwing a write in? Why isn't he jabbed his way here and finally got a torn rotator cuff? Wow. And let's face it had. He said I have to postpone the fight. I have a bad rotator cuff after have surgery, but after the surgery I want Floyd Floyd went elsewhere. He just did not. It's okay. What somebody else? And I think five Floyd will come out for one more fight. It'd be Paki out because that was the that was the whole deal, and I heard it when he Pakistan with him, and he's gonna fight brownies gonna fight Floyd. But let's face it. If they if Floyd always dictates everything if he says, listen, you're going to you Manny, you fight Thurman you beat him. You know, we got it Thurman wins. I think for voice has never mind. Thurman, Thurman, knocks out pack. Yeah. And Thurman employees, and it's not the same. We'll see. We'll we'll see what happened. There Floyd is the is the key. He's you know. But it's funny when he ran into Brown Bronner after the fight so timely one of those all access the epilogue last one and. Pro-nato floyd. We'll go get back in. I said man, I'm retired. So. Talk is cheap been curious. What happens if anything if anything's going to happen? It'll you'll know in next couple of weeks because Manny is the is the mandatory challenger four. Thurman anyway. And let's face. If if Lopez could punch he'd be the champ right now 'cause he had he had Dermot out. This. He was just he had him. He just he's he's not a big time fighter. He's not a big time. Punchy just a tough guy. Eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six. I'm looking for your picks on the game is is is is an asteroid game. Because of what happened Rogers gazelle Val? He didn't say anything. Do I expect the league or do anything? Now. Especially if they come away with this game on Sunday. It's a clean victory for whoever. You know? There's no controversial play that that a referee didn't make a call miss the call or you know. I'm sure will be challenges. But maybe it doesn't. It's. Yeah. It's a normal talent. You know, it's it's as long as they don't miss a call. I'm sure if you concentrated on one match up on the line for the entire game. You see holding calls all the time that the only ones that are call it a blatant ones. But you're not gonna do it all the time. Now, it's it's like I said, I just want to be entertained. I want to be entertained need something to hold me on the baseball season. Because basically, you know is the baseball town. And you know, I think everybody's ready for baseball, especially when it's cold like this. Because if people work go at a slower pace in this. They don't wanna deal with it. Eight seven seven three thousand seven sixty six sixty six Tony page of the fans we go all the way to five forty and back on Saturday at to take a break. Get back your calls after this.
