"And i want you to see this marcus fears. They don't have a category called assists in football but if they did then this player should get one watches about to go down watches teammate. Grab it will get him back up. Going in for the touchdown and this is what do you think. That's what's your boys. That's what you're supposed to do for you. They supposed to catch you when you fall in this This bears a warning. Just feels to do but people standing in the damn whiteboard. He's marcus holding a grudge. Let go spirit let it go. It's two segments that played graziano hospital for a month of this happened in my legs. This is a wonderful wonderful thing. That's just a spectacular. Look at wayne. They should do that in the nfl guy standing there next to a receiver to hold him up. Are they allowed to gets not and grazziano meantime. Let's get the business he. Let's run the hurry up with a bunch of different. Nfl news including the latest on what was a busy day in conversations about the shawn watson trade room just conversations menacing. Steve handing does actually happen today. Teams have to have the roster's down to fifty three by four pm eastern today if he's on houston's roster that means they're comfortable going all season and leaving him inactive effectively playing with fifty two if they move him to another team. Obviously that'll be big news. We're watching for that today. Meanwhile serious news. The new orleans saints have had to relocate their whole operation because of hurricane ida there the practicing this week in dallas cowboys stadium. And sean payton said yesterday. They honestly do not know where they'll have to practice next week. Seems unlikely they'll be able to go back. Obviously loss of power there and other damage that really. Nobody knows the extent of yet hoping for the best for everyone there the saints meanwhile are on the move and then last night the the nfl sent a memo teams. About this year's kovin protocols the one of the most significant changes they've decided to past vaccinated players in personnel every seven days as opposed to every fourteen which was in the original proposal. This is because of the proliferation of the delta variant and the number of positive tests among vaccinated individuals The union wants every day testing. They're still pushing for that. But this is as far.

"Though they didn't have the guy that did the shooting, By the way, there's a suspect arrested. Now we get to that in just a second, but ah There was a time when the police would have looked up. The people that were laughing and ah and videotaping that standing by and not not assisting the officers. They were. Look, look up a few of the highly, Let's say evil ones on beating the crap out of him. Oh, that's not right. Well, Whoa, whoa, whoa. That's not right. Yeah, So what's your point? Steve, you're on the edge. Thanks their own. I want to make a few points first off one of the most glaring lives that Biden made not a lion mistake, he said. Antifa is just untidy eah, there's no organization. Do you remember that? Oh, yeah. Talked about that earlier. Yeah. Oh, I'm sorry, Mr Go ahead that that that's That's an excellent point that what that was, they know that antifa za thing and the other people that are coordinating it, But they can't say it. They can't say those air their shock troops on the ground. If Trump had said something like that, Mike Wallace would. Chris Wallace would have definitely explored that some more. And then another thing is Biden's always talking about his plan, but his plan is in a plan their goals. So when he says, I'm going to restore the middle class That's not a plan. That's a goal. How are you going to do it? And I plan to be a billionaire? Yeah, he wants in America with no fossil fuels. Everything's going to be renewable energy. They can keep the lights on in California. We're going to make United States over that. It's It's a joke. 100%. They're coming. They're counting on zombie electorate that wants free stuff for nothing to keep the charade going. That's it. They know they can't pull this off. But they can. They can get the low information voter promised them free education, free health care, free housing housing, right, Baba, and they just keep themselves in power doing that again. I would have I would have gone back. To Biden's past. I would have found a way to do that in one of the longer segments where they have, like, two minutes and I would've put Joe on the hot seat about what have you ever done to create anything to build anything? Have you ever had a real job where you built something? Or further? Something being created for the benefit of others? All you've ever done is have your snout in the trough. Of tax dollars. And you've taken advantage of that day. Do you live in a house across more $100,000, Joe? How many houses do you have? How dare you that kind of thing? I was just throwing throne his face right in it. Well, at least he did that with Hunter, and he kept hammering the point. I'm glad he did that. I noticed that Joe Biden head hung low and you couldn't see his face for a minute. Well, Trump was doing it. But you're right. I wish he also would have mentioned that in tongue. The Biden family has been enriched trough, all of them all better. Hunter Biden is a multi millionaire, if not a billionaire, and the guy's a cokehead. He's a cocotte The strippers. That's it, but he's got nothing going. He's got literally nothing going on. Nothing. Zero. Nothing. Yeah, One other thing is when when the wall was, you know what about this racial sensitivity training? I wish trumpet handled that better while I was talking end. Chris, we're talking. You heard Trump say that because it was racism, and that's a good point. But I wish you'd said something like Oh, sensitive racial sensitivity training. That sounds like a good idea, but it wasn't It was missed, not accurately thinks something else, And I know that it couldn't say the same thing about black lives matter Well, he could have said that he could have said. That's a total misnomer. There's nothing about sensitivity toward race, and we don't need sensitivity toward race. What we need. Is everybody coming together and stop focusing on race. We need people to come together and just respect each other for the people that they are. You should have been thrown things like that, Arthur Now, if I could say one thing, it's a fight runs an ad on TV. I saw the other night, You said. Everybody's going to get $14,000 more year. Everybody's going to get $7000. Okay? And there were a couple of other things, and I'm listening to this and I just Are people. That stupid? Steve Hand second, Steve, your phone is doing it again. What did you do? Let us forget about this debate for a second. What have you done differently with your phone? Over the past six months. We used to call it was crystal clear. Now you're on some type of North Korean phone man. I replaced it with a new iPhone. And apparently, the old one must be working. Better stand in one place. Are you in the middle of the sticks? I actually parked in an open parking lot in Dexter. And perfectly still, although my head may and now it sounds good just to make this call. I was one of you on a mission in North Korea or something. It's not yet. Okay. Well, yeah, the whole thing of the whole whole debate last night and they're saying they're going to be a couple more. I don't know if I believe that we'll see. Well, I hope Trump will do better. I mean, he did pretty well, He'd lose anybody support that. I like it. I don't see anybody said Oh, man, Look what he did there That said I'm not voting for him were already all on board because we know his lesbian standing to save us from the Democrat Socialist Party..

No fantail now accepted since he's a New Jersey USS New Jersey right now, let's go, Tio, Let's go tell we got some funny stuff in the Washington Post. My friend Steve's hand, Maybe The Washington Post is concerned about stripping the name Washington off of things, because then they'd just be the post. You can't say Washington anymore because the left is completely unhinged. And so then what is the Washington Post? Do? They got a brand to protect here so they could be upset? And Michael Percy makes a good point. You know, the Washington football team. We're calling it now. Because you can't say Redskins and you can't say Washington. We're just going to go around wearing shirts that say, football team, you know, like blue toe in Animal house wearing a sweatshirt that, says college Let's go to let's go to the phones. Let's go to John calling from Burbank, California John, You're on the Chris Plante show. John I was thinking it would be a good idea to tweak lunch bucket Joe's name and make it a bucket list, Joe because how many times has he run for president now? More than 70 78 right like that? But the last thing on his bucket list has becoming president. Exactly exactly while he still can, because the only his brain is rapidly deteriorating. The only side that works on more is the far left side. So boom. But boom boom, But, he said in his Pittsburgh speech, he said, Do I look like a radical Socialists with soft spot for Marxist rioters? "Freeman has joined us, and we're GONNA. Make his books snake the legendary life of Ken. Stabler. Our pick of the week and pick up the month on the sports byline book owner, so check it out Michael. Let me ask you about the NFL. What was the I guess the image of the National Football League in the seventies when Kenny join the league. So? When he joined the League in in that era, really was sort of the last era. Of just wild, crazy, wild west football, their roles were different. You, could you? Could you know stabilize? You picked up on his head and thrown on his head. you could, you can mug receivers. It was completely different, totally physical hardcore game. And when he came in That's what it was like. He was able to really have to some initial. adjustment and after really kind of sitting on a bench for a couple of years. He adapted very quickly to that, and that's one of the keys to him. As a player that he was able to that physicality, he really was able to overcome. It and players love the fact that he will get hit. So hard, and it's just get right back up and play until I couldn't play anymore. And that really endeared him so a lot of teammates. How would you characterize and I know the answer since I've been out here since the seventies. How would you carry rise the cast of players that he had on his team? There were a lot of characters and they were They were funny. They were wild. it was. It resembled kind of the city they were in. The Fan Base the time period they reflected all those things and their rates on of really interesting guys and characters and things like did, but I would also say. seem about. Chen and the theme about that team. Is that they were incredibly? Professor Snow when the game began and to just party like crazy when the Games are over and the to never. Enter they never. crossover. He they these guys were able to do almost superhuman partying and superhuman football, and it didn't affect them, and it was really a pretty amazing thing, and it's something that I emphasize a lot in this book and I talked about a lot about this book is just how. Both things are true, and they were able to to really be some of the best professionals you've ever seen in an air in a really violent air or party all the time, and they were still able to be great pros. The I mentioned about the characters all share a couple of stories, and I know you'll know who I'm talking about. There was one player who played the first half against the New England patriots. They went into the locker room and he told the told the trainer. My feet are killing me. And he said okay. I'll come back to. He comes back to him in the player had had to write pleats on. This same player went to the the equipment manager. One time in wanted to know why he couldn't have is first name on his Jersey and he says well. Nobody has their first name on the Jersey equipment. Manager said he said well. What about Van Egan? What other stories do you have in your book? Editor along that line with with snakes along with his teammates. Well there, there's there's all kinds of stories and one of the things that was really interesting to me was just how snake was a kind of what I'm saying before about this stuff he would do and then once again field. It was amazing he used to keep. A carton of cigarettes and liquor and his locker and smoke and drink, and then he'd go out to practice, and just woods zip balls and nothing with the ground, and it would be the most amazing thing and go back, and he smoke cigarettes and drink and things like that, just he. He was able to have this kind of laser focus. That very few quarterbacks. I've ever had I mean it was up there with some of the best. But he just he's just. The partying just never affected him. It was pretty remarkable. Yeah, one of the legendary stories you might pick it up a the time. They were in New York and I think it might have been the Heidi game, but don't hold me to that and He had been out until four o'clock in the morning, and it was still hung over. Back to the hotel. Yeah any any any played horrible, and then when he had half time to kind of threw up a little bit, and then he went out and just. killed it and played great. And that's. You know that's how they roll back then that's how he rolled back then. so. They always be able to sort of recover and do what needs to be done to win. Yeah, significance from game standpoint. I most people I would assume would point to the Immaculate Conception game against the steelers What are some of the other significant games during the course of his career that he participated in? One, one of the big ones the see hands Can The the immaculate reception one. to me is really. It's preposterous where he did and. It's another one of those things where You can't really have. He pops up across NFL. History is I. Guess what I'm trying to say at that almost every important juncture, the Sea of hands The immaculate reception there a couple, other ones some of the most important moments in NFL history. He was a part of. And it wasn't by accident. It was you know the immaculate reception to happened. Because he ran for long touchdown to put the raiders ahead, he hadn't done that. There would have been though Immaculate Reception Steve Hands. It's a crazy play. against the dolphins, and in one of the more important player. That's all history. There were others and they happen because of him, not for the luck, or but because he was so skilled and so good, and that's often you one resort. What? Why wrote this book? It's sort of forgotten that he is so factor. That skilled I think I'm right about this, too. I'm going on memory Michael, but he was involved in a game with the San. Diego chargers was not where they were. Tell tell everybody that story. He's. It's five seconds of the game and he's They're driving to win and he falls basically purposely. fumbled the ball Ford. It's picked up and and and the rate of scoring the game, and then I had to call in the book from the broadcaster and it's really amazing. It's a great great call Those are the kind of things he did. He was all over. The place is always playing hard. And he was always popping up in places and doing things just didn't imagined, but then he would do it. You know as well as I do back during the seventies. The AFL was relatively new to professional. Professional football at least the merger of the the old NFL and the new afl together, and the rivalries, because the leagues were diametrically opposite with the AFL was wide open football. You know just fling the ball. The NFL was grinded out type of thing, but the rivalries existed in the AFL particularly in the AFC west. Were you had the Denver Broncos? You had the Kansas City. Chiefs. You had Sandiego. You had the raiders in everything. What was it that was magical about that period of time in his involvement? Well, it's exactly kind of what you said there were there were big rivalries. Different styles of play AL, Al Block that Short Beach, mentality and staples took perfectly into that. And and they the.

"Ovation. That engine is don't work for one company. They worked for the valley and if one company fails, they take the ideas of that failure. And then just h made a new company. And I really liked the idea that that they're, you know, the the huge microcosm is looking valet the lessons that just being passed on between different companies. And I think that General Magic is a really good example of that the, you know, you can learn from mistakes Morale's, but failed to make 'Success in another company all in your own venture. And I think that super knife and Mets for the the redwoods that you're talking about, you know, you see that iterating everywhere across the valley, but you say h writing in in nature and we're making the film reels looked for these kind of examples in nature that would be able to kind of break up the monotony of very urban landscape so that we could put some cinematic footage into looking for those companies, examples in waves in forest fires, and. In Redwood forests. Because, yeah, you you success spoons from failure. How about that, sir? I, yeah, I think that I would also like to say that the mentor the the story of the master on the apprentice is also be part of the film in a very big part of the valley and seeing you know that Steve handing his lessons to his disciples and then those lessons being passed down. I think that's a really important tradition in the valley. The continues new, see that today with, you know, all the magicians, Megan and Tony, and just that desire to pass the knowledge on and and you know, use the these lessons to solve some of the really big problems. You talk about this beautifully in the film. And I think it's the most important message in the film, which is how do we take this less these lessons in how in bringing big ideas to life and apply them to the problems. We really need to solve and also not kill off ideas because when you look at it in retrospect, it's really astonishing. It really is the iphone. It is the which came out in two thousand four think something like that. Seven. Oh, sorry. That was certainly even later that's out at Facebook is two thousand four, but there was a. When you look at it, it sort of it is like looking at how did they live late. You see those Leonardo Davinci drawings of flying machines. He's kind of got it directionally, for sure, but a codex. Yeah. Yeah. It's really kind of interesting when you when you look at those drawings, and when you look at the device itself, it's sort of every idea is there and it hadn't been there by the way it hadn't before that I was there. There were street ideas. Apple had a street. It was. It was run by Peter can't remember his name, but they had they had online service that looked like a town beat beeped, and it was it was it was terrible, but it was good directionally. Correct, which was interesting. So what do you imagine keeps innovation going here? Because a lot of people feel innovation is gone that these people got older that they've gotten to rich, they've gotten to, you know, there's a lot of people that feel innovations move to China or the enthusiasm has. How does that. Because there are cycles of innovation, and I think that's true..
