What Did an Opening Ceremony Without Spectators Look Like?
"Of the 32nd Olympiad now underway in Tokyo after an opening ceremony, unlike any other which unfolded inside an empty stadium and which were just now seeing on our televisions tonight. Here in the US joining us live from Tokyo with an update. Now CBS is Steve Futterman. Steve. It's almost old news there the opening ceremonies, but we're just getting a glimpse here unless somebody got up really early to watch. What were your impressions of this most unusual opening ceremonies and overall Olympic Games? Well, I think they tried the best they could. I found it. I rarely try to give opinions in my reports. But I found it a bit sad and no pun intended. There was sort of an empty feeling in the stadium. You know, when you go to an event like this part of the event is the fact that you're sharing that you may not consciously be sharing it, but you're sharing it with Thousands of other people there would have been around 65 68,000 fans in the stadium. I'm guessing there were a few 1000 people there yesterday around 1500 media members, some support staff. Uh, some dignitaries, the diplomatic corps, et cetera. So several 1000 people were there. It just wasn't the same. I was comparing it to. I saw Hamilton in 2015 in New York. I'm sure I would have enjoyed it watching it alone. When you're whipped the crowd, something adds to it, And I think that's what was missing last night, so I did find it a bit sad. They tried. There was some spectacular moments. Wonderful pictures. Texas Rangers may allow 100% fan capacity for MLB home opener
