Unfortunately, we can't snap our fingers to solve the problem. But the school system does plan to modify its response by documenting the act and the school file of the student who committed it, and also bring in the parents of that student. We need you to be a part of the restoration plan and the plan moving forward and what the commitments we are all going to make to ensure that this does not repeat itself. In the long term, there will be more lessons on anti semitism and hate at schools. One local lawmaker wants to start an anti hate task force in response, county council president Evan glass says the spike in racial ethnic and LGBTQ hate crimes is disturbing and frightening. He says the latest numbers from 2021 show more than 140 bias incidences, more than half were race related dozens of them targeted religion, especially Jewish people, glasses set a letter about creating the task force to county executive Mark elric. Some fairfax county school board members are calling for governor Glenn youngkin not to block the new advanced placement African American studies course. Youngins asked for a review to see whether the lessons violate his executive order, banning divisive concepts in school, Florida banned the course last month. Fairfax county school board member Laura Jane Cohen accuses the governor's administration of trying to stop the teaching of true history. Of course like AP African American studies is rich with opportunities to expand their knowledge and get to have these hard conversations learn how to have them in the world, which I think probably if more of us had taken courses like that. What Did an Opening Ceremony Without Spectators Look Like?
"Of the 32nd Olympiad now underway in Tokyo after an opening ceremony, unlike any other which unfolded inside an empty stadium and which were just now seeing on our televisions tonight. Here in the US joining us live from Tokyo with an update. Now CBS is Steve Futterman. Steve. It's almost old news there the opening ceremonies, but we're just getting a glimpse here unless somebody got up really early to watch. What were your impressions of this most unusual opening ceremonies and overall Olympic Games? Well, I think they tried the best they could. I found it. I rarely try to give opinions in my reports. But I found it a bit sad and no pun intended. There was sort of an empty feeling in the stadium. You know, when you go to an event like this part of the event is the fact that you're sharing that you may not consciously be sharing it, but you're sharing it with Thousands of other people there would have been around 65 68,000 fans in the stadium. I'm guessing there were a few 1000 people there yesterday around 1500 media members, some support staff. Uh, some dignitaries, the diplomatic corps, et cetera. So several 1000 people were there. It just wasn't the same. I was comparing it to. I saw Hamilton in 2015 in New York. I'm sure I would have enjoyed it watching it alone. When you're whipped the crowd, something adds to it, And I think that's what was missing last night, so I did find it a bit sad. They tried. There was some spectacular moments. Wonderful pictures. Texas Rangers may allow 100% fan capacity for MLB home opener
