"I like Denver to win this game tonight. I think the running game is going to be huge and Colfax I'm supposed to remind you a lot we are working on are are running back tracker Melvin Gordon Philip Lindsay head going to see who has the more successful season yes as we progress here. WHO Now Pat. Shurmur. New Offense Coordinator for the Broncos says they're both great. Obviously, you want them both at the same matic aries and nobody's really a starter and that's cool. Melvin Gordon's starter. Who's going to have the better game? Tonight Gorden or Lindsey who's GonNa have more rushing yards Gordon. I hope. So I have them on my fantasy. I am so torn with this conversation. Because I am a fan of Melvin Gordon I've always been a fan of him in college and then when he went to the chargers. I want him to succeed because if he succeeds the Bronco succeed. But. If he succeeds way. Way Better than Lindsey. There's no way. Lindsay is a Bronco long-term I can't see how they're going to pay in this league. They're not GONNA pay to running back again Gordon has one more year he has two years. So this your next year, can they work out a deal where they extend Lindsay's contract for like two more years again, it's going to be kind of a player option. For Philip Lindsay at the end of the season. Can they work out a deal where hey, we WANNA keep Gordon but we also want you to stay here do the one two Combo and then when Gordon leaves you, you take over I don't know in a perfect world maybe. So but speaking of a perfect world, it just be great if they both came out and Gordon throws up one hundred. Philip Lindsey throws up. Five and touchdown, and maybe a couple of catches. I'm very curious to see how this offense is really how this offense really works. Because They're going to load up with a lot of tight ends. They crazy about tight ends this year. But they also went after wide receivers in the draft, they also signed a free, their biggest free agent signings. Argument was arguably Melvin Gordon. I mean it was I suppose right? Because GLASCO was a trade. I, I'm up in the air. I don't know what this team's GonNa look like I am very concerned about the defense. This is not just because von Miller gone. and. That's another one. That's tough. I believe the Broncos three point three and a half point dogs tonight. Like Denver. To win this game I really do I don't believe in the titans. I do like the movie remember the titans but I don't believe in these Titans Derrick? Henry. They're going to give him a a coach for able has a mass the mask on and it says something that doesn't say must feed Derrick Henry, the rock or something like that. Just give him the ball. That's that's there's no secrets to it. That's that's what the titans are going to do. They want to push you around with their offensive line and Derek Henry's wants to run over run you over I mean that's what this offense is based on. So. To the broncos have strong enough guys up front. Do, they have talented enough linebackers to slow him down. They did the last time these teams played against each other. But. It's listen the titans feel like they have some unfinished business. There's still underrated. They're still under appreciated and I I don't believe in this team. I don't think there are a playoff team. I like a good running game is Ryan Tannehill the guy do they have enough weapons outside of outside of Derrick Henry? I mean, they added today be uncloudy. They've got VIC Beasley Junior. So I mean these guys in starting to later though he beasley didn't pass his physical until September fifth and then today beyond cloudy didn't join the team until the seventh. But either way? Yeah. That's GonNa make drew locks night a little bit more difficult. To find out of Cortlandt Sutton is you go tonight what does that mean for Jerry Judy Colfax? Says Judy's going to need to score ten touchdowns in order for you to win your fantasy game this weekend I'm waiting on. I think I got mine. I think I have Derrick Henry Melvin, Gordon Tonight and I'm tied right now with be read. Sorry about that bureau gotta get week one get off. You don't win the first one. I vanished text line three, one, nine, nine, six, three. Nine, nine, six. What are you got Titans Broncos broncos start this thing off with the right. The right way I think drew lock is going to be okay tonight I don't see him going nuts. I see the broncos being kind of a balanced offense tonight. and. Probably GonNa see a good running at a rushing attack. From Philip Lindsay and Melvin Gordon specifically because I like their guards I I li- Dalton Reisner is now taking on that leadership program Glasgow their pro football focus said that broncos have least at least going into the season the top five as far as Duos and the guard category. tackles are tough but. There are weak spot right now for the Broncos, but that's that's more pass protection. You know. Bulls was better as far as blocking for the runs the holding holding calls I, mean that's Those are the things that really has given. Garrett. Bowles, such terrible name. He's when he's just pushing guys around when he's run blocking, he's not as bad..

"Yet I think he's very underrated. Sometimes, we don't. He's always the first name we go to I didn't even go to them today but Russell Wilson continues to do great things. His team gets a nice win over the Falcons yesterday. Yeah and I you hit it on the head. You know you see us one of the premier quarterbacks in the League and he and somehow you do you get the feeling that he's. He's a little underrated I. Think some of that is the Pete Carroll Defensive. Run the ball. You know when the marshawn Lynch was there it's just you know the whole thing functioned on. You know we're gonNA sworn your defensively and we're GONNA WE'RE GONNA be physical running the ball, and then he's GonNa do supply action off it. And so forth but you know he's he's proved you know for last couple of years that he's premier quarterback he doesn't eat the run game either he can make plays with the seat and stand in the pocket and make plays and. You look at the numbers of that game. Between him he and Ryan that that. was I mean they they just they both through the ball up down the field so Matt Ryan probably got still got a little in the tank to as a as a you know a a NFL starting quarterback so you know sounded like a heck of a game and a lot of options. Coach we've got two more games to go tonight. We'll. We'll touch on those briefly at least the Titans Broncos and I'll put you on the spot here but who is your made something? We can do every week but top performer quarterback top quarterback performer of the weekend for you was Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers Russell Wilson. you know just having glanced at it those two just off the chart you know games I'll tell you who jumped out a little bit was Josh. Allen. At Buffalo you know he's still kind of a little bit unconventional but but he put up some some tremendous numbers throwing ran the ball. Probably more than they want him to run the ball that he had. He had a heck of a day. Meant you. had. Actually, day against the colts you know we had some numbers but they through a couple of picks but. It sounded like those guys had had some some things going so. All you know when you look at it, the offense is didn't suffer from. There's some really really good quarterback play going on and you know week one was exciting if your quarterback fan like you and I are it's It's a lot of fun to watch. I'll tell you a couple observations. You know the with no crowd noise. quarterback the guys that used their cadence it really had an advantage. I. Mean they the the. The canes, the defensive line without a crowd noise was was obviously an issue and the guys that used it got an advantage, and then the other thing you saw with with Green Bay and. You know Seattle did a little bit the teams on the road rage to go up temple which they normally struggle to do. But without a crowd they were able to. You know the the played a fast paced. So there are some things without having crowd stadium it. That kinda aided the officers as well. I thought it was Kinda awkward to when they when teams to score touchdowns you'd hear them cheer for a little bit and then it got just really quite they'd. that it was just like nobody's saying anything else. It's just a quick little celebrate nothing else without the fans. It really makes those touchdowns it's not as epic. I enjoyed as a coach. You re literally could hear the communique. On both sides of all even defensible, you could hear him. You know change in techniques of their front and so forth. So it was it was kind of a it was enjoyable to be honest with you. I coach. So you said a lot of names. I said, a lot of names is really hard to pick one. But if I'm tweeting it out, who's your quarterback star performer one guy you gotta just give one guy who was it? Russell Wilson Russell. Elsa this Dino Close Matt. You know Rogers a close second. What Russell did was was was very impressive and it's hard to hard to disagree with all right tonight drew lock He. We saw five games of him small sample size going up against the titans team that they just kept surprising everybody or at least me anyway, they kept getting far. They went to the AFC. Championship Ryan. Tannehill I've you've talked about this guy a lot I mean he he just gets the job done when you look at this matchup tonight who has the edge. The broncos do I think You know walk played very well down the stretch They've added some people around him They're always with coach. Fangio they're always gonNA, play good descents and. you know they're at home I know it's not home field advantage but I you know I I would I would think Denver's got an edge. You know here's the thing with you lock. You know he's He's played five games and he looks very, very good at times. You know whatever happens you know it's it's far from over you know if if the if he really looks good, you can't get too high about it. If he struggles at times during the game, you can't get too low dot. It's just kind of a benchmark with where he's ad he looks like he's starting quarterback in the league. And just let's Kinda grow with the guy a little bit. You know. it'll be exciting were where he's at Yeah I think that that's our next question we want to see. Okay. What does it look like I know the off season was strange not season but either way what does it look like from start to finish now we got a sample size of it last year, and for the most part we loved it now he's got the weapons, the offensive line it it's repaired, but also still a lot of question marks with with that right tackle position and certainly the left tackle position So yeah, we WANNA see what it looks like with with drew lock from start to finish. That's what I. That's what I say and again more I should be on the like you say on the tackle position than him but. You know that's where they're going to have to be productive to help him so. But yeah, based on what we saw last year. Let's let's get excited about it and see where he's at night I'm ready for coach, Fairchild Qb Training Dot, com.

"Visiting. We'll be recapping broncos titans. And we'll be getting you set for. Game Seven Somehow someway game seven between the Denver Nuggets. The LA CLIPPERS? Live from the auto collision specialist studios joining us here on our I advantage hotline. We've got Steve Fairchild on the program Steve Fairchild, of course, you know him former CAL state coach, former offensive coordinator in the NFL. A ton of experience and continuing to train quarterbacks with through his websites or his workout side Fairchild qb training dot com coach. Always great to catch up with you man when time allows we we love to get you out of the program and just talk quarterbacks with you. Look forward to it's a very exciting with the start of college football in the NFL season and Things are things are looking good. How do you view the college football season was a little strange I mean games were two weeks ago and then he get the bulk of the Games obviously this weekend was it strange for you though knowing that many teams not playing football right now? Yeah I think The you know the NFL things a lot clearer than what's going on in college and I. Think What Games you did see you could see the. The. Lack of offseason. Spring Ball affect that game a little bit more than than it did in the NFL. You said it though with the NFL it's it's a little bit more of a clear picture. We saw we saw one game on Thursday night interesting. The chiefs look ridiculous. But a ton of great action yesterday. Let's let's look into the quarterbacks specifically Patrick Mahomes. He he's the he's one of the if not the face of the NFL right now he's got a lot more weapons even this year than last year but he didn't even look like he skipped a beat coach. No he didn't he you know he's a obviously, it's not the top one of the top quarterbacks league and. he he just started off right where he left off last season and They were very impressive. I thought the chiefs just looked like the better team he was the better quarterback and. One I thought it was interesting in in that game was how much the run game Really help those quarterbacks they both both those teams ran the ball very effectively in that obviously that that rookie lsu back, they can't city as it's going to be. A real good weapon addition to all their weapons but Y- that was I just thought mahomes the chiefs just of picked up where they left off and and clearly the better team they're not a bad way to start your career or if you're the running back for the chiefs Clyde Edwards Layer twenty-five carries one, thirty, eight yards and a touchdown. I'm watching him run and I'm thinking how did the chiefs get this guy there already loaded with weapons and now they have what who promises to be maybe maybe a top five running back this year who knows we'll see. Gabe one. So far so good. Yeah and you know he's a, he's a great example of. When you when you great running backs, you hike is not important and really top in speed is not important. You know you'd like them to be extremely fast but you know he just his quickness and inline running and his balancing the low center gravity. I mean that that's what that's what running backs look like and and I thought he just he had A. Tremendous game really help down. Yeah. No question about it. So Patrick Mahomes look tree to Shawn Watson I mean he didn't he didn't look bad either. But I'm looking at the chiefs and I'm just thinking it's going to take a near-perfect football game from from the quarterback from the defense from the offensive line to be able to contend with the chiefs this year. Yes I think so they can score so much so fast that you really don't have much of a margin for air. when you have the football against him I think Watson you know he's proving to be a good quarterback I. Think they're still. before you back the truck up in pay that type of money I still think there's things he'd like to see a little more consistently from him because at the end of the day, it's guys like mahomes that. They're going to be effective even in passing situations third down to minute type things that when everybody in the building knows they're going to throw what they're still and I think those those type of quarterback separate themselves and I think you know Watson's got approved. Doing some of those areas. Coach we're in with your experience in the NFL I mean you've been on teams with with some solid offensive weapons too when you look at the chiefs yes they're provided with so much. That's a challenge in of itself to with with the with the coaching staff for the chiefs trying to get everybody involved making sure they're utilizing their pieces. But everywhere, you look every position, I mean you're looking at a to a plus kind of guy. No no question. It's a good problem to have a lot of guys that can make place for you. But the the quarterback does a good job of you know obviously distributing the ball where it needs to go. I think the other thing with them that that Kinda gets overlooked as they're very, very solid upfront and they've got both tackle positions or. are kind of wired. Now with some, some really elite type players. So you know he he's protected for the most part as well. So yeah, they're just they're roster offenses is very, very good and they improved defensively last year. So you know obviously they're the team to beat. Yeah. No question about Lamar Jackson with the Ravens, the team that I'm looking around at the AFC I'm wandering which teams going to be able to. Put up a heck of a fight against the chiefs. The Ravens destroy the browns thirty eight six Lamar has a beautiful game twenty, four, twenty, five to seventy, five and three touchdowns. They play Houston next week at Houston then their home against Kansas City so they have some quarterback battles coming up but Lamar Jackson another one of those quarterbacks that it looks like at least against the browns picking up where he left off. You know he's Just graded that film and. I'm still very very interesting to watch that that thing go over a period of time. You know it's it's so unconventional and I say that in a good way, I mean he's just he's just different than everybody else athletically in the strengthening inability to run the football. You know they kept his they kept his run to tolls down but it's still they're using him in a violent way and he's and he's getting hit and. you know I think Roman and those guys do a great job but but it it is different in. It's just GonNa you know you're GONNA have to watch it play out and see if you can stay healthy through years. I will say this that it's a very easy formula. You know how they got beat in the playoffs and you just gotta get them behind the chains. They're so dynamic running the football bet that they stay ahead of the change and then they're heartbeat but if you can get them in passing situations than. Than I think you have a chance to do something against the Ravens and I you know and then, and then watching that too I thought Baker Mayfield same thing as last year just. struggle in the pocket when he when he had to try to get the ball down the field, he's you know he's he's got talent he he's got an anticipation but he you know just when when he's got a hang in there and make that intermediate type throughout. He struggled and they're they're gonNA. have to. They're gonNA have to find a way to get him more productive down the field with the ball. We're talking to Steve Fairchild Fairchild quarterback training. Coach when you look at Baker Mayfield What do you make of this guy so far in his rookie season I think maybe he may maybe kind of went over the top..

"Facebook and more importantly. Thursday, night special. Oh coming back very excited. Very excited. I'm six and four. We're getting that record back. It's all back. It's going to be great, but tonight still more summer camp. He got the rockies taken on Texas again tonight six. Oh five mountain I don't know if that is. Don't believe it could be on at and T. Sports Net. It was on MLB network last night. The game on MLB network tonight will be Minnesota at Chicago tonight that we five five mountain tomorrow, though baseball begins the rocky start on Friday, but we will have several major league baseball. Games on a Thursday that we can get excited about start really breaking into so. I can't wait in fact I. Was Just two games tomorrow, but they're all on. ESPN so you got New, York and Washington and you got. You Got US in West, Game San Francisco and the dodgers. Thursday night eight o'clock. Nine baseball there Thursday night of baseball cannot wait. Finally here it's going to be. It was strange last night. It's going to be strange. You know watching these games, but I was laughing and Dan. The Dan Patrick show yesterday they took a poll and they said twenty to thirty percent of the people voting said that you know if there's not going to fans in the stands. They don't even want sports to start at all. So you'd rather zero sports then. You. See that's at all or nothing mentality that I'm so frustrated with. You know you can't have. You can't get to all if you don't start somewhere and you know we get were getting. Those guy you know goes people on our facebook page. Colfax keep commenting. No sports until the economy starts well. This is part of that. This is how you started back. This is how you start it. Yes, if we could all just say virus, go away everything back to normal. We would all take that. I think a lot of us are wanting that right most of us are, but we can't. So we're going to take it and how they adjust this thing you know. The NBA has got to do a bubble. Baseball's gotTa do no fans in the stands. Football they're not? They're not doing a preseason. NHL's some similar right as as NBA so we. Were at this point. Where if you WANNA get to all? You gotTa start having a little bit of it. You know and that's that's where we are, and that's part of that economy that you're talking about. All right that's going to do it for us. What Fun Show today? Thanks to mark Johnson, the voice of the Colorado Buffaloes Steve Fairchild the coach talk and drew lock with us, and Colfax is saying maybe trump Yuka elway. For drew lock. He at least has the path to get. It's got the path so if he fails then he's going to be breezy. Up say a plumber. It's a safe pick, and that's the whole against their most going forgettable quarterback, so it's crazy. We'll be back out on a Thursday good night northern Colorado. KF K..

"Okay let's say Steve Fairchild was right that all these weapons that are in place for drew locks offense. He'll be able to utilize their fullest because he is. He'll have the mind to do that. Yeah, I mean hell of a solid first year and that's his first real. Year of success, and then it can only go up from there right. Yeah I mean. Who knows what that looks like well dicksons bringing up mahomes. Let me let me say this to you. I mean I'm saying. mahomes transcend is going to transcend the again. and. That could be one of the greatest quarterbacks we ever see. If drew lock finds a way to steal. A division or to championship from homes, and then uses and use that as a catapult to go win a title does that now make his name even greater because of the quarterback that stands in his way. Now. It's not just like he's going one on loan mahomes, but you're going to have to go blow for blow. You're going to have to go, Matt. Tit for tat. You'RE GONNA have to match him. And if you can do that. The maybe we're not talking about plummer. Maybe we're not even talking about away. Because the challenge furniture lock is far greater. Than maybe even. Manning who did many Evan the division to worry about Philip Rivers. Was it Alex Smith, majority of his time with the chiefs. Derek Carr Raiders Quarter forgettable quarterbacks. Manning didn't have a lot of other quarterbacks to have to go back and forth with. Forty eight minutes after the hour Colefax, take a quick break. We'll We'll get to what's on TV tonight. Yes, more more sports on the tube for you. We'll.

"There's a sense that there's not as much pressure on you as a career career. Well. I think I think that and I think the media. I think the the personnel department. I think the people in the organization, maybe the owner. You know when when you draft somebody in. You'RE GONNA financially. Commit to somebody in the first round it. You can't. You can't have him standing there on the sideline You're more apt to be a little slower like they were withdrew and I know the injury was factor, but you know you could. You could let them sit for a year. If you had to an and the pressure to put him out, there wasn't gonNA be. as great from the you know, the surrounding people so yeah I mean I'm sure he wanted to go in first round, and the money would be actually better, but you know it is what it is. He ended up in in a good spot. He's surrounded by the players You know he's proven that he can. He can do it in a short created time, and now hopefully he stays healthy and You know. He has a long and successful career I'm sure most of the where if not all the people that are broncos spans with would love to see. Steve, we, we've had a lot of these discussions. Like where are they going to be in ten years? Because we haven't had a lot of sports, talk about so we're bored. But if you look at. You know quarterbacks to compare him to. If you said Hey, when when drew locks done maybe five ten years, maybe beyond when he's all when it's all, said and done which Bronco's quarterback do you think he'll be more comparable to like in terms of success like an elway tie a plumber tra- Puka even, or or is he going to just fade and be one of the one of those names? One of those guys we remember, but maybe didn't. didn't move and shake a whole lot. Well, you know it's easier to kind of look around the NFL and say is. Is You know body types a little more like this? And this is who he reminds me out, but You know it's unfair to take anybody in in in. Take the words. John elway or Pay Manning and and say he's going to be like that I. mean those guys are generational type players and their their hall of fame type players so You know I would love to think he could do that, but that's that's a rarity but because he was drafted unlike. Plumber, who is a good player? You know he's you know. He's got a little more commitment from the organization, and really could sink in there to that next level quarterback and. You know have a good career. Maybe get them to the playoffs. Some who knows make run at Super Bowl, but I think the fact that he'll be here longer than some of those other guys you were talking about. maybe gives them a leg up, and and being maybe next level with conversation of quarterbacks play for the broncos. Exciting it'd be a fun ride for sure I mean hype will do one thing force. That'll get us excited either way, so we're looking forward to this season. Coach tells more that website pulled up to Fairchild qb training dot com like I, said I follow you on social media, and as always you, you're just always doing some great work. At quarterbacks of all ages, it seems like quarterbacks of all levels to yeah. Doing Youth football have some NFL guys and a lot fun I like working with them, and it's something I think you know I did for thirty four years as a full-time coach and hard to get that out of your system, so it's just got off the field. At two session this morning with a great group of kids, so really like doing it I think I help kids, and and again it's keeping me just the right amount of busy. Busy. I guess I've told you this before. We've heard a lot of great things for people even up here to that. That are familiar with what you're doing. And of course utilize your services as well so coach. Keep up the great work. We love being able to dial up the quarterback coach to give us some insight here, so we always appreciate it my friend. Yeah. There's a lot of fun I. Look Forward To doing it, so we'll talk again soon again. Wish everybody will you, too. My friend. That's Steve. Fairchild owner Fairchild quarterback training, he is, he's. He's a great guy of course coach for the Colorado. State Ramsey was an offensive coordinator for several years in the NFL, and he's developed quarterbacks, and he continues to develop quarterbacks at every single level, so he knows a lot about drew lock and listen he's. He said it's hard to find anything wrong with the GUY now. He's going back with his his time studying them up in Missouri. And what is ups offered? And he said Hey I'll. All admit it I mean he saying I'll admit I. I thought he was the first round. Guy I really did well. He's being talked about today after five games like he should have been a first round guy, you know the way we're treating him right now. The only guy that gets screwed out of that those drew lock. He's not making the money. The broncos don't care. That's perfect. If you can get a guy that you don't draft in the first round and you don't have to pay him that kind of money meaning you open it up to pay other guys around him for the first four years. Hey, that's that's great for Denver so drew lock someone who gets screwed up I still. Disagree with me. Guys I know a lot about football Steve Fairchild. So they know more than me, so whatever Mark Johnson, he knows more than me most. My insiders do Colefax except for. Those guys. All say the same things. You can't have too much of a good thing. I've still still holding on to this like hey, here's drew lock five games here's. Two wide receivers, we're GONNA. Go first and second round here you go. We got no last year we got now. Melvin Gordon, for you along with Gordon inside and we've got the better offensive line, and again I'm not so much complaining as all the weapons on the offensive side is, I, am the flat-out refusal to build upon a defense rather than just replace Fillon replaces what they did defensively offensively when all in. Who Wears the boggling to? There's a lot of weapons out there and I've continued. Ask that question. Where's the ball? Go into, and if it doesn't go to coralline Sutton and if it doesn't go to Melvin Gordon Veterans, now Sutton's veteran. Do we have complaints is they're going to be a pressure there so I I still wonder about that but you know you guys will take it from certainly take it from Steve. Fairchild to hey can't have too much of a good thing thirty three minutes after the hour. Let's see a couple of texts here at. the broncos lock in a different division for the next twelve years. It might be different. He might have some regular seasons success with the fact that he will probably be fighting for fifth-seeded best means playoff. Success may be tough. That's the thing I mean you do have to look at it, you know. elway ran the AFC west for the most part. Paid Manning ran the AFC west for the most part and even J. Plumber. When they were going to the playoffs they were they were doing well That is going to stand in front of drew lock success. That is going to keep him. That is going to make it harder for him to..

"Quarterbacks at every level of course, Steve's resume goes on and on Nfl Coaching Experience College, Coaching Experience Steve, my friend. It's been a little while, but great to catch up with you man. Yeah thanks for having me on opioid opening. There's doing well we're. We're hanging in there. It's it's certainly a different story every single day, but how about you man I again following you on social media. I know you're rocking and rolling and and doing some big things still. Yeah trying to stay busy, but at the same time social distancing. Hand Sanitizer, and where my masking doors so You know this strange times, but they'll. They'll pass now. I'm with you there. My friend well. We're talking a lot about drew lock. And of course we carry the herd with Colin Cowherd here on the an-and KFTA and he's one of the national media. Guys just going all in, and there's a lot of for some reason you. You know now. We're really starting to hear it I. Don't know if coward started we as Broncos fans. We we saw drew lock. We were excited five games in pretty good numbers for and one a wanted to get you oughta day coach to to talk a bit about drew lock and first off over hyped right now at this stage on this twenty second day of July. I don't think there is such a thing with with an NFL quarterback because the hype at that position is. like the bar is so high. You're you're you're you're expecting greatness from everybody that steps out on the field every time, but I think there is reason for sincere optimism a based on the five games. He played in I know it's a small sample size, but he. He certainly played well I. I'm familiar with because I wrote him up coming out of Missouri for a number of teams in in media, people, and I really liked him coming out. I thought he had A. Definitely first round arm talent You know he's athletic. He's a guy and. you know there's a lot to like about him? He's a little bit streaky in college in get playing a spread offense, so you knew there's going to be. a little bit of a learning curve, but he was a four year starter, and yes, you see. That says a lot about anybody so you know. When when I saw him preseason I, thought the learning curve was GONNA. Be a while. You looked a little little uneasy in the preseason. Then he got hurt and busted, really grinded or just. Switch must've flipped on because I thought he played very well. The last five games and know certainly has talent so I think the you know the needle pointing up, and let's just see how good he can beat the broncos. Certainly, they're giving them all the tools here I mean. They went all in and the draft and we saw big free agent signings with you know offensive linemen and getting Melvin Gordon so when we were throwing a lot of weapons from your experience. Experience especially on that offense of coordinating side is there. Is there such thing as you know? Drew Your Young, but we're going all in. We're throwing all these weapons. Does that somehow put extra pressure on a quarterback, does it? Does it go from all right? We want to teach you how to drive, but now instead of that. We're giving you a jet to operate. What do you think of that kind of assessment is too much of a good thing in this case? No you, there's no such thing as having too many players so I'm sure drew very happy about it, and and that's the way you want it you you don't want to. you know somebody to go happy with you. Want you want them to commit to you? And through with good a talent as you can you know in Asia. They've done a nice job from a receiving core You know they're gonNA. They're GONNA put some people on the field and the tight end as well. Who I think's going to be a very good player for him He's been in the system a year, so he's GonNa have some guys to throw to. I don't know about the Mel, Gordon thing I don't know. You know they had to pretty good backs, but you know again. You can't have too many. Good players feel help. but I think their biggest concern. I was them would be. Up Front. Where are the left tackle and How's that group GonNa play and and You know if they can step up I think that he has all the pieces that he needs to be to be a very good quarterback. Now again you, you have more notes than a lot of the fans in the five games, because of your work guy in seeing him in college, and and following his career and really do going into some deep scouting of. Of Drew Lock what about those concerns? When you look at me, said a bit streaky at times, but are there concerns five games in the NFL. We saw a small sample size looked very good, but are there reasons you said optimistic, but what about being a bit cautious, other some of those reasons when you look at drew locks body of work that maybe fans should say okay. There's there's potential that he could have some of these issues in the future. You Know I. Don't see a real physical issue with the guy I think he can. He can make every throw. He's got good size. He's good athlete. when they did put him in there. which I thought was really good decision by the organization to go ahead and put them in and. And see what you got those last five games. It did not look too big for him. you know. He throws with people around him. you know he's GonNa like every quarterback. You the guys that play ten twelve years. They're better. You know the next year I, mean just it's A. It's a spot where experience helps He's not real experienced, but you know you're just GonNa have to live with some ups and downs with them initially, but I don't think anybody's that that looks at him and saying hey. I wish he had a better throws a better ball in this area or wish, you better athlete, or which this or that I you know he's got the tools. And, like I said he's got a great group of guys that throat, and so Yeah, I I think it looks bright. I really do and you know you just can't expect him to light it on fire. Every time is the second year in first year starter, but I think he's going to have a good career I. Think when it's all said and done they'll. They'll be really happy. Happy that they got him in the second round. We're talking to Steve. Fairchild owner of Fairchild quarterback training We'll talk to you. We'll give you some more information on that website here in a moment now when you were writing up information and going into a lot of his film study and things of that nature were you of the mindset that he he should have been a first round pick. You know I I was a complete I. When I wrote about by said he was the first round pick. I thought he was the second best quarterback in the draft behind. Ask and physically but. But having said that now you know I I only right what I see in in you know great on tape and a lot of this. You've got to get a feel for a guy in person with how you interact with his team mates, and watch him at a workout, and and talk to them and I I never did that, so you know when he fell the second round, I thought. Thought you know. Maybe there's you know. There's some teams didn't feel good about it. And sometimes it's just luck to its you know who's available to draft and who's drafting and what they need, but you know again I, thought we're the BRONCOS got him I. thought he was a steel based on what I knew. in and again it's there's definitely first round arm talent with the guy. Steve Is. Is there some times when okay you put that first round label on a quarterback and they get picked early in the first round i. mean that stays with you forever, so if you're anything other than great. A lot of people put that extra pressure on you to be better than that is there is there sense that you know if you get picked in the second round or beyond you Kinda. Go in playing with house money because if you don't have that first. Label Tat. I label attached to you. Maybe..

"Plumber. Jake plumber very solid for? The broncos very good. But. Nobody's saying that he's one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. He was just a I think it was unrated underappreciated while he was here. But is that going to be drew lock where he's kind of unslinging Kinda, got a little edge to him he does. He has a little. He's not cocky, but he hasn't edged to abuse the buzz. Light your thing. Like staff on as defined as an edge. Yeah, you're so cocky, you and your? Buzz light year antics toy story buzz light year. I love the market. You're so that cocky. You Know Kinda Fun. It's different. It's not like Cam. Newton. You know he's doing the superman thing, and he's audible ing by pointing up and doing all this crazy thing. Drew locks just doing buzz light year having fun. I don't have an issue with that too much. But is he gonNA be more like A. Going, to be just one of the forgettable cubeys, and that's what most teams have collectively. Most teams have more quarterbacks that are just kind of forgettable. Just fade off. Let's see. Thirty six percent, and maybe that's because the picture I used. Plummer drew lock thirty six percent. Say Plumber subliminal. It's probably cannot I. Can I like do an option like somewhere in between plumber and alway-? Maybe like I think it'll be a little better than plummer. In, maybe this is why it's because La meaning kind of confusing on there right because they're. So, far beyond, you could argue that. Both of them are like so I mean if you tell me that you always a better quarterback than manning, you're not gonNA get like this. Are you serious? You're going to say oh. Yeah I mean I can see why. You'RE NOT GONNA. Get too much of an argument for me on that, so those are tough. I mean you could go trump Yuka. INC seeing play and listen. I'm talking about super bowls. I'm talking about greatness I'm talking about guys that have done big things, and that's why when I say. Oh, way manning, elway, manning or your upper echelon. Greatness Jake plumber was good, not great. He did he was he. Came into the Bronco came the broncos as a free agent to. Kind of a you know he's not like. He built his career with Denver, but when he came here, he was, he was pretty solid. In the broncos were a playoff team while he was here. They got smoked by paid manning twice, but then his third year he was very good. It was like you know some people talk about him. Being the VP that that's how so you had that one great year, and then obviously Shanahan decides to go draft Jay. Cutler and that's that was the end of the plumber era pretty much. Jake started the next season, but He knew he was on the way out, and he didn't WanNa be there anymore. And hinchey and Hanworth denied I and it was bad. so you're saying between plumber. A little bit. There's not really anything between. I just think he'll stick around longer than plummer and maybe. Since he's a homegrown guy. Draft Pick. Because again, it's been easily away manning I. mean maybe it's rebuke then I mean. Should I put him up there? We'll do that during the break. Let's throw him up there. But I guess I should have. Maybe that's where we're going to go all right. We'll go do that. We'll edit that for you. Colefax that you have to have I have to have it fifteen minutes after are. Let's get Let's get Steve Fairchild on the program with us. Let's talk to Him we'll call him in a moment and see what he thinks about drew lock. There's a lot of hype. National Media's going all in on drew lock, is it? Is it warranted or should we be warned? Should we be a little worried? That drew lock might not live up to all the hype fifteen minutes after the hour live from the article is specialist studios. This is the whole show powered by energy. You're listening to.

"Colfax. Don't text me during the game. Don't text me because I'm not going to be watching it in real time. Put your phone away. Put My phone away. What I text! You is not my problem. If you see it or not, that's true. It's my own your own. You're GonNa do it on purpose now, aren't you? To actually be like wow, did you see that? Oh, you're going to like broadcast the game via text and by the time I look at my phone. There's going to be a giant hole like a play by play taxed of everything that happened. Man Happens to me. That seriously is a problem that is a problem. Thousands of people in this world struggle with every day, and that's what I'm GonNA fight. That's my big fight. There's a lot of big things going on in the world, but that's my fight. I feel like a lot of people just feel like they have to tell you're. Make sure you saw something related to sports all the time all the time and And, if I if I predict something on this show, I will get something on the text line or my messages or even taxed individually. Because I have people that have my my real number that listen to the show and they'll say hey. Like, I predicted the broncos to win down to nothing, and I'll get like forty tex a row. How about them Broncos and I'm like yeah. That's true still still early. I knew still early guy. But now like I'll get people. That I mean, I'll be I'll say hey and I'm just sitting down. I poured that beer I got the kid tucked in ready to go to sleep. My wife's like you know what I'm GonNa do this I'm gonNA listen to a book or go. Do something at listened to a book. That's the thing now. To go do that. Whatever so you enjoy, enjoy the show I'm like Oh. Wow all right. It's some me time poor that beer. Crack that I fear and you're here. We go get the heat up the pizza whatever I'm doing. Sit down. You got your emotes. You're ready to go you. Re Cli-. Turn that Tube and You I'm GonNa put my phone away Tuck it back and I get a text. It's like holy cow rockies. Twelve home runs and it's like. Really it's over just the Rockies web at you're happy now. Brady like man or the my own fault. Sometimes do it. I'll okay so go record the game. And I leave it on the channel. That I recorded. I'm recording it on because you can you know? You. You don't have to do that anymore. Colefax in record watching something right, but I'll forget so I'll go record it. Turn it off and then go about my business I got turned the TV off and I. Forget about that. That's happened to me more with basketball games and I'll turn it on, and I'm in the middle of the third period or something, and it's like a ten point game or something like I just. I've even done it worse world. Turn it on was like twenty seconds left. Drive me insane, but that's. Steve, that's the. That's the risk with great dvr power. Comes Great. Great Risk Plan a dangerous game with his very dangerous game in and I have I have. I have had more spoilers than I care to admit. You. Know End and I'll tell people I'm not watching it live. Oh, so sorry, forget what I just said. Okay. First advantage text line, three, one, nine, nine, six, three, one, nine six. How about this one? WHO's career. Do you think our next power play sports poll question of the day which broncos qb will drew lock be more comparible to incur in terms of career success. I'm not before you're GONNA know he's more like Jake Plumber. He's weighed talent, wise skill wise. No I'm talking about career. So? When drew lock is all said and done. And we've gone through it. Maybe it's ten years from emanate. Maybe he gets a fancy ten year contract out of this. Whose career is he going to be more is going to be more comparable. Is he going to be the next John Elway? Are we going to say whoa because again? The odds of that happening are zero. Nobody's ever done it. Manning was manning before he came to Denver so you can't like if the broncos manning then yeah, you could have said wow. The broncos had to greatest quarterbacks of all time, but that's different. Manning was his own beast. But, do you see and I? Did throw up there. Because again. I- Colfax will tell you right now. I think Peyton Manning. Is the better quarterback between Peyton Manning John. Really I do athletically. Obviously, there's no contest John. elway. WAS HE I mean? He did whatever it it would. You never saw fainting goat with him and I mean he was doing the helicopter. He was doing all that stuff, but as far as knowing defenses and getting a football to a wide receiver, an open space and finding those spots, manning was better there. elway had the cannon. And he had that he could run I. mean he had that ability to move, and maybe he had more of A. You know more of a will to win. Because when you can run there, there is something that quarterbacks just can turn on a switch. Running quarterbacks will stop at nothing to get a first down. You know so. Peyton doesn't have that and he didn't have that. It was I got to find an open receiver if my first options out their second third fourth fainting, goat time. So there again. He doesn't have that ability. However, who had the better career paid manager John elway paid manning two super bowls. John had two super bowls, I think Oh. It went to five. Manning went to four. But Manning has all the records you know. He's over elway. He has the records over John elway. I guess we could debate that one all day, but depending on who you believe like whose whose career is going to be more has more of a John Elway, guy. You know where he's like a legend of Denver. John elway is the most popular sportsman in the state. No question, so do you see drew lock being that guy, or is he going to be like Peyton? Manning's is really really great. He's maybe one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.

"It's important when you're having these debates you look at what they achieved too because Bradlee van pelt in those years they were pretty solid. He played from two thousand one to two thousand and three three seasons there. There were seven and five ten in four and seven six and then I mean they. They won the mountain West Conference Championship in two thousand two thousand and two years. So you have to look at that side of it. I mean he played sensational. He was a big time numbers. And there's some great players to of all time on that mix lane thrown out some guys like now. Let's get you lane thrown out other guys like Grayson Haney Marino style for. I mean Mark Driscoll John. Graham those are those are great guys too. That's that's why that's the debate. You have to say where. Where does he rank? Where does he rank when it comes to Grayson when it comes to Caleb Haney who played few seasons in the NFL? Where does he rank top? Ten top five or is he more of a pay. You're going to go ahead and say he's the greatest quarterback to ever put on a Colorado State Rams uniform. There's some nice history. They're I mean. They're not the greatest quarterbacks in the world. These aren't guys that are going on to the NFL and and making big plays but then making big names for their self themselves in the NFL. But while they played for the rams they were able to put together a big enough resume that would get them to the next level. I of intersex line three one nine nine six three one nine six. That's our power to play. Sports poll question of the day. Go ahead and vote on that one at the whole show. Dot Com Steve Kerr telling his team. He's he's pretending the season's over he's basically saying no we're acting as if we're not having a season. Knick OF ESPN right says the NBA continues to try to find ways to salvage the season as the world deals with the Corona Virus Pandemic Golden State Warriors coach. Steve Kerr acknowledged that his team is operating as if it season is over it. Feels like the off season. Kerr said during a video conference call in conjunction with the University of San Francisco on Tuesday said and in fact we had zoom call. Bob Myers and I got on a zoom with our players our whole roster last week and it was just test to check in but it was also a chance for Bob to update the players on his contact with the League and the latest news but it also kind of felt like our Annual Team Exit Meeting or coaching staff and I have been undergoing staff evaluation off season plans so we are absolutely in off season mode right now interesting but they were the worst team in the NBA. So are we gonNA does that? Mean the league basically told those bad teams the teams that had no shot of the playoffs. Which really there weren't I mean. There were a lot of them that were actually that far away at that stage with twenty five with twenty. Twenty five games remaining. So I'm curious did. Did someone basically go to the NBA? Play some of these teams. That weren't even close and said. Hey you're we're not gonNA whatever we end up doing you know you might as well just prepare for it because what we if we do regular season games. They'RE GOING TO BE MORE TUNEUP GAMES. Getting set for the playoffs. Now if you started a month ago maybe that's a different story. But maybe they're already talked to teams like teams that were maybe ten ten games that eight spot so teams like the cavs and the Hawks and the Pistons and in the Western Conference Golden State Can Golden. State was actually eliminated. They were the only team that was actually eliminated from the playoffs. So why would they wouldn't make any it would i? I would be cool with our do you think that they should just say no all of the NBA's going on we're GONNA do two weeks. We're going to ask that. Every team does five six games. Or do you think you'd give Golden State Pass and say all right? You were actually eliminated from it. You were you want fifteen games. Would you just let like the last five or six teams be done with Exa- might change how you do the draft to to interesting concept because what if Golden State wins a few of those games in the record gets better right now? They have the best chance at that lottery. Pick so Winning at the fifty two fifteen win mark because I mean in the in the West you still have some teams that were there. Minnesota was probably out but hell Phoenix. Phoenix was six games out of that. Eight spot so you might leave so golden stay. Minnesota. Maybe Cleveland Atlanta and Detroit. Maybe the Knicks. Maybe they're all out of it because the Bulls were only six games out of the eighth spot too. So what five or six teams you just say no. We're not going to have you play Steve Kerr's acting as if they're done it'd be hard to ramp up you know. I'm going to get you back in training and all that knowing we're not going to be able unless the NBA says we're throwing all the teams in it and we're GONNA do a two week run and just as tuneup games improve your record. Whatever but every team is in the playoffs then I could see it if you're already eliminated from it. Maybe that's the only team maybe golden state's the only team because you were actually mathematically eliminated from playoff contention to me. It'd be like okay so you gotta go a month of train of two weeks of just training like training camp again and then another two weeks of getting practiced together and then all that you know a month a month of work just to play a couple of games for tuneup games thing. I don't know if they're gonNA do Tudo Games. The further we get to this thing we may. I is tomorrow. They're probably just going to go into some kind of play offs at the end of it so I know a lot of people were already upset with this. They're like oh you're just phoning it in. You're moving on. You're doing your own thing. I wouldn't want to be the team that says all right. I got to get everybody back here and worked out and ready to go and go over film and all this stuff knowing that we're not going anywhere. We're eliminated these guys. That are on my roster. Somebody's has might not be here next year. So these coaches might not be here next year so in that sense I actually can understand where Steve coming from. Maybe he's the only team though. Maybe they're the only team that you let the rest of them play at how we'll see first of all the text line three one nine nine six three one nine nine six power play. Sports poll question of the day. Where would you rank? Bradlee van pelt when it comes to the greatest quarterback of all time for the Colorado State. Rams in that was one of the better years for them that season again according to an article in the Colorado and a few years back two thousand two they were. I mean no no team in program history has been ranked for more weeks than that rams team in two thousand and two but they were ranked more the night more than nine weeks the Colorado State. Rams were top twenty five team. He was he was exceptional. I mean again that was that was the year they won the Mountain West. They they lost. Tcu In the Liberty Bowl game. That year I mean they were. They were ridiculous. They were great so and they've had a big win over Virginia and in the big win over Colorado. So I get where you're going with this but you know for the brand of football that he that he brought the issue and the success. That was part of that. I don't know how you select somebody else. There was some great quarterbacks for sure but You know in the two thousands as we start to get football starts to get even even bigger and bigger college football continuing to grow every single year with its popularity teams. Want guys like Bradlee van Pelt. They Tim Tim Tebow. They want. Charismatic guys don't matter what their political views are the religious views. Are I WANNA be a charismatic guy? That can lead this program but also bring a lot of excitement to. I found it interesting that Kelly said that. It's known that Bradlee van pelt goes to games but he's like wears a low ball cap and he tries to be very unassuming so nobody knows who he is. This was he was the big man on campus. He was a California kid man. Everybody knew knew Bradlee. Van Pelt was Mr popularity so I found that kind of interesting that he He still goes to games. But he's very much flies under the radar as check out the the results on this one. Okay now forty percents say top five and I think that's fair to but from what I watched it and I and I have the I'd like to bring this up and make sure Hogan's where I'm coming from. I'm not gonNA pretend that. I watched some of these quarterbacks that are going to be you know in the ranks. I didn't watch as much as I love talking to. Steve Fairchild Colfax. I didn't watch him growing up. I mean that's that's just the way it is so you gotta be careful here because some of you are just going to go to the records and go to the stats and and and throw throw guys out there. But you know Steve Fairchild played in nineteen eighty. So I didn't I wasn't live at that point Colfax But he was he was great. I mean He. He played in the early eighties. He's like his tenth here. The UN threw for four hundred six yards in a game At the time I think that broke the record and then it was broken a little bit later on by Terry Nugent in nineteen eighty but he broke the record at that point since then. Football has certainly changed. I mean Hell Cage Carta. Samuels has the single game record for Colorado State. But yeah you're definitely going to say nick. Stevens is on that list. I mean I know they were five hundred. They were the seven and six rams for the bulk of his career and he had quarterback controversy but he is second all time in passing yards. He is second all-time in the best regular season in terms of passing yards. Third in through the third most in a game. He's I in Rams history and touchdowns guys like Nick Stevens. They may not be the the sexy names the charismatic names but you know when you look at stats..

"I know we're GONNA do whenever we can get out in public colfax start a band. Boggles they go to a concert. Oh Yeah we're starting to hear band. Yeah yeah I mean hair out so it's getting pretty pretty out of control? I gotTa admit it looks alright and not used to combing my hair over to the side like weird looking person you know like I don't. It's weird I'm short hair guy. I like Like a high and tight haircut got a one on the side. A little bit of spike happened up there. And this is this is new to me you know but an Afro thing. Yeah dude he does it Kinda Kinda froze out a little bit doesn't it? I think it looks good called the White Dude Fro. Apparently yeah and and it's not it's not good it does not look good so unfortunately yeah. I'm now I'm white and pasty. I have frozen hair so We're we're looking good during this quarantine stage at one o'clock we're going to have Steve Fairchild on the program talk to us about Well well let's look at the quarterback. Yeah but listen. We're GONNA talk more about Jerry Judy. I'm excited about that. We are going to make in for our show today. Colefax we still got our movie review. We're sticking with that why not. Yeah I think you guys need our expertise opinion. We're now we're now professional movie rivers when you win an award. You do whatever you want you write your own. It's exactly right. We got Molly's game coming up and it's funny because some of our listeners made the molly jokes you know the drug molly. That's actually a big issue in the movie. A references made to Ma and almost gets her in trouble. So right yes. There's a lot like this is definitely one of those movies and we'll get to it where I would like to go back and see because there's a lot more things that I'd like to catch up because Colfax your your poker guy this game. I know how to play the game but I don't. I can't catch up with all the I have to think awhile like. Okay what is what does this handing out. That would be. Okay I got I got a sweet and then by the time I've sorted out my brain there didn't know what the Hell Yeah Poker. Game of a lot of terminology. They use some of the terminology. But I think they explain yeah portion of they did they really did well especially for people like me and it's a deck of cards. That makes sense all right Steve Fairchild coming up next. We'll talk quarterbacks with him. Who Do you think's going to have the most successful career when you look at these quarterbacks that were taken in the first round also six wide receivers my biggest shocks from the draft? That was last night. We'll get to that and more up in the second hour this is the whole show powered by PDC energy..

"Will we see him tonight? Will we see him this weekend? You know I've worked a lot with Jacob and and you know not only is he got. I've worked with trying to mind In he's a very talented quarterback and when he's healthy he was playing in a in a system that sit in you know he. He did some great things he looked like an NFL quarterback to me You know like we visited before the the the injury thing is a red flag and some buildings and you don't expect all thirty two teams to You know we're interested in them but there's GonNa be a team somewhere down the road that that's going to say at this point in time. He's valuable for us either. Drafting later tried to sign him and get him as a free agent so He'll have shot. He's talented enough to play in the League and he certainly deserves it. He's he's just a great human being in a in a hardworking person So we'll see I'm I'm I'm excited for him. I know he's GonNa get an opportunity and we just kind of where and when will wait to see. And I'm sure he'll make the most of it. And one of those solid quarterbacks you mentioned that you work closely with and you work with a lot of a lot of youngsters. A lot of college guys. Nfl guys trying to perfect their game. Yeah it's It's I'm having a lot of fun doing doing like I said youth football dismantle fell guys and You know certain times a year get busy. The college guys. The first quarter of the year are usually a very interested in training. Now now you start to get an NFL guy or two coming back in July to come back again so a lot of football now this obviously with the spiral thing you know we gotta shut it down for a while but You know we'll we'll see it's it's been a lot of fun to got to meet a lot of good people in them and really enjoying what. I'm doing great website to Fairchild QB TRAINING DOT com. There you can look at it. You know like like coach said the youngsters going into the high school going into college in the NFL as well coach. Always appreciate your insight and look forward to these chats. And we'll try to catch up with these soon. Dow Suit Again. It's been fun. Steve Fairchild owner of Fairchild quarterback training the best person to help you. Elevate your skills as a quarterback and build character that Green Bay packers thing is tough so imagine this Colfax. You're you're Aaron Rogers Man. I mean you get this. You're already had a rocky relationship with your old coach. They bring in and that he kind of starts off in a weird way. Basically saying I'm the boss here in Rogers is kind of contentious where he thought that was a little strange but at the end he came out and said No. He's the boss. I JUST WANNA little. It'd be nice to get just to get a little bit of a heads up. So then so he's already got kind of that. They get through the year. They're fine. Well Rogers is basically saying to Adam Schefter that. Hey you know. We have drafted a skilled player in a long time. It'd be great to get some more weapons and all that well not only did you. Not Give them any weapons. You drafted his replacement and that replacement isn't even bother me. There's a lot of people that are texting and saying. Oh what's everybody's so bent out of shape for. They're going to do the same things they did. With Brett farve and Aaron Rodgers. They're going to work this guy in he'll be a backup for the next three to four years. Rodgers will retire and they'll have their quarterback of the future. That's not that's not it? You didn't help Rogers get any better. He's I mean he's thirty six years old. He's looking to win another super bowl and they had a decent team last year so I mean they had a good football team last year. But you could have got a lot better. And instead you draft a quarterback that will not see the field next year unless Rogers gets hurt so this one was a tough one for me and the fact that it was Jordan. Love who I like. I love him as a mountain. West Conference quarterback but he wasn't a no brainer. He wasn't one of those guys that you just flat out said. Whoa he is. He's good he. He's in next level guy. There were concerns about him going forward so talk about to me I hate. I hate to use the word like a slap in the face. But you're thirteen and three team from last year. Use Your first round pick. You can help Rogers. Give him another weapon. Help him on that offensive line or make you continue stacking up that defense instead. Now we've got your placement. Who probably won't play for a couple of seasons that's got to be a tough pill to swallow twenty one minutes after the hour. We're GONNA take a quick break Kovacs. We're stepping aside from the draft for a little bit. We do our Friday movie review. We started doing this because there's not a lot of games. We could have taken a break this week. But we're going to stay consistent with. We got a new a new movie to review here. We rate it like this isn't a first round pick. That means it's ridiculous it's great it's you swear by middle rounds later and it's got some good points bad points undrafted. Stay the hell away from that. So we'll find out molly's game was made in two thousand seventeen based on a true story excited to break into that with twenty one minutes after the hour. This is the whole show powered by the energy right here on thirteen. Ten K OF K. We're.

"After the second and final hour of the week. Glad you could be with us here as well we got more to come with the NFL draft but it was certainly an exciting first round and for the most part all the technology held up. Things went pretty. Well here that Again VIC FANGIO. Maybe had a little snag right before. But it's probably like just unplugging and plugging it back in. That's my philosophy and I think they fixed it in like four minutes joining me. On our first advantage hotline we got the coach Steve Fairchild of course Fairchild QB TRAINING DOT com former offensive coordinator in the NFL. Former head coach at the college ranks coach. Always always look forward to chatting with you. What what what stuck out to you the most from that first round last night. Well I think the first thing was just the way the NFL pulled off in terms of the logistics of having everybody at home You know just that many cameras around the country and the coordination to get that thing Done the way they did was very very impressive. I think the second thing was just It felt like everybody kind of stayed to the script. There wasn't a whole lot of surprises reaches or or things of that nature. I think it kind of went about is is Calmly as as you could think. Yeah and with the broncos. You're hearing all of this Trade talk that they might move up and perhaps move up to get a guy like Jerry. Judy well turned out. They didn't have to move anywhere. Judy fell to fifteen. I think some may be surprised by that. But Broncos didn't have to have to give up anything there so they were able to get their guy without moving that that that ended up very very good for them and I you know from what I've seen and the people I've talked to that they've got a very very good player there You know I think one of the surprises was You rugs going up to the board. I as a receiver. You knew what was it. Five or six receivers in the first round. Yeah Yeah you knew it was going to be. That type of thing happened with with this class of receivers. I still think there's plenty out there that that are going to be good players that have been drafted yet but Yeah you know sometimes it seems like the NFL can do a little flavor of the month and and you know everybody saw tyreek Hill and all it takes is one team to say. Hey this guy reminds me a hamlets. Let's reach a little and just go with pure speed and that kind of surprised me because in in the record of draft in receivers. That's not been the way the way it's worked out. Good for teams. Do you ever look at a situation where you see. Okay Portland Sutton clearly a number one but a guy like Jerry. Judy Ito he he could be number one in the Denver Post this morning saying hey maybe in a couple years he could actually be better than corn son. Do you ever look at that. I know it's all positives on paper. You have to study wide receivers. But do you ever look at that and say you bring in? Melvin Gordon. Are they going to be enough touches to go round for all these guys eventually in the next year or two three were? Maybe that present somewhat of a problem. Is that ever an issue? It's an issue. Want in in you know when I was coaching in the NFL or a coordinator in the NFL. I didn't WANNA number one and number two receiver. I want to number one and you know we didn't want just a platoon of backs wanted a bunch of backs that we clamoring for the ball and we were trying to get the ball to so you know I. I remember my time in Saint. Louis you know we had Isaac Bruce an old. And that's when we were you know very very good at throwing the football off I think that's the way Denver is now. They've got a couple of guys that you can. You know say boulter number one type receivers in and that's that's the problem you WanNa have is. That is that something that you have to work on. You have to. You have to find the character. Guys that are okay with saying. Hey I'm not the end all be all even with when you look at Melvin Gordon Philip. Linzie both those guys have to be okay with splitting carries. Is that something you have to? You have to really look for those guys to John. Elway talked about high character guys or for the most part what you experienced. Did you just see wide receivers and back say you know what this is the way it is we'd rather win than worry about individual stats? Now I think the character thing is big and I and I look back to you. Know when we draft Torry Holt and and he came in and what a great character person he was and and fit in with Isaac Bruce and No I think you definitely want the character thing but you know all those guys They do want the ball. They know the ball You know means means their salary is going to increase as their production does but but you know again. You don't want to have a bunch selfish players you want guys that understand winning the end all and But again I see this. It was a great pick for the broncos and I think that is really going to give drew. Lock some answers now having to receivers like that and you said. I mean some of the great combination so you look at the teams you just talked about with Holt and Bruce. I mean that that just gives you so much room it gives you a lot of freedom to do some creative things with that offense and and when you look at the potential and again we haven't seen him in an NFL uniform Jerry Judy but D- look at a guy like judy and then part pair him up with Sutton. If you made a prediction would you say man? This they have the potential to be one of the one of the top wide receiver duos in the League soon to come. I would think so. Then you know you. You've got a first round draft. Pick a tight end in there from the year before which is a you know things are gonNA open up now for him a little bit and and like you say that. I've been impressed from day. One still blend V. And now Melvin Gordon in the back deal so And then you look at what drew lock did when he when he did get a chance to start so things look good. They got short offense. Line a little bit Obviously you know. They've got some picks here coming up and hopefully they. Can you know? Look at that that an address that issue and obviously another corners and things but I think last night was a very good start. For the broncos. We saw drew lock put out a little video. Just say congratulations pumped up about Jerry. Judy he's got a lot of weapons. Now Steve So do you does that. Add an extra sense of pressure for him as soon as next season to say. Hey now you got a Melvin Gordon Paired with now you have Jerry Judy paired with Sutton. No offense going to be another year into this and if we can short that line. There's not going to be a lot of excuses. So there's GonNa be a lot of pressure on a young quarterback. Yeah but I don't think any any more so than any quarterback in that league that that businesses the NFL's high pressure win now Be Productive or you're gone so I the pressures there but at least they set themselves up and and surrounded quarterback with some some things to work with. And it's going to be exciting to watch when you look at the quarterbacks that were taken last night we ended up. You know we saw those four guys go. It was Maybe a little different than some predicted. I don't know it's like you said it's probably pretty darn close except for the packers may be going up again Jordan love. I think a lot of us were shocked by that. Maybe I don't know what your thoughts are. But when you look at these guys and Joe Borough and to attack Viola and Justin Herbert Jordan love who sticks out now obviously boroughs number one. It was pretty obvious. But if you had to if you had to predict you know and you put your reputation on that. Who's GonNa be who's GonNa be the guy in ten years that That comes out of this with a better career. Well it's a little bit of crystal ball to that but you hit it on the head. At least with the first three they. They came off in the in the order that I think was the consensus around the league. I think everybody had Joe Borough as the number one guy on the board in rightfully so with what he did his senior year at Lsu You know no real flaws. Maybe maybe not a real high ceiling in terms of off the chart ability but Very good ability very good production And then you know with to As soon as Detroit Didn't trade that pick. You got the feeling like nobody's GonNa jump up to take him. But at the end of the day it only took one team to clear him medically and like him throw him into the second quarterback spot in Miami. Did that kind of where everybody had in the mock draft and then San Diego came in with the or excuse me charges came in with the you know the next one the Herbert's so it kind of fell in order I I think to Herbert have a little better situations that they're walking into particularly Herbert. I think that team When it's healthy is is a playoff type of team in terms of their roster and they certainly have some weapons around him ready to go so You Know I. It's going to be interesting to see ten years from now. I don't think anybody knows all three out of real chains And then they interesting part. You knew somebody would reach on Jordan love. Just just like the the rugs thing somebody who's GonNa say he reminds me of You know Patrick Mahomes take a chance on it but it but it Green Bay. Doing it surprised me and. I think they've got a little Some issues they're going to have to clear before that thing smooth building to go into. I kind of chuckled on that and I think I think they've got their work cut out for him. It was tough to Adam. Schefter had reported that the you know an hour or two before the draft. I think Aaron Rodgers said something along the lines of the packers Don't typically draft skill skill skill players. It would be nice to see that. And then they go ahead and draft. I guess the potential replacements. So boy Steve. That's going to be an awkward discussion. Right yeah particularly the young new coach first year last year and You know and Aaron Rodgers got doesn't probably he has a lot more in the tank and and so he went the year Like this draft where they were all those receivers sitting there. He's you know he's probably thinking. Why are we making a move there? That helped US win next year. Which is really the only goal in everybody's building in say you're GONNA draft for the future at his spot That was awkward in in that they're going to have to. You know have some some real heart to hearts and and see if we can't mend that over and make it good. It's I chuckled when I saw that and like you said it's not it's they can't just use the quick excuse of well you're here for the next however many years and then he'll be there to pick up. No you didn't help. Aaron Rodgers get any better necessarily round. That was not the best player available. Pick by anybody's board In in so you know when you're when you're doing that you're you're Kinda head down a road that maybe Guy Like Aaron Rodgers. Who I you know I believe you know one of the greatest ever play in installs lot left. I mean when you have him you have a chance to all the way and win the Super Bowl and and so you need to get on board with them and and Kinda helped him everywhere. You can pick certainly didn't didn't go down that road. I tend to agree. It's there's GonNa be some tough discussions to be had for sure. How about guy you know. Well we know well here throughout northern Colorado. You'd see Jacob Nip a great guy a really talented quarterback. Obviously he's had the injuries and we talked a little bit about him a couple of weeks ago. Steve and obviously the situation when UNC. They weren't winning a lot of football games. But there's no doubt he's a talented quarterback..

"Were we'll be tweeting out and doing podcast and writing about the two thousand one Stanley Cup finals and the two thousand nine conference playoffs. So who we're GONNA break my heart all over again there but that's fine Yeah I I can I can take. I know exactly what happened in this panel. I'd did we are in our apartment and I remember my wife are. We were dating at the time. She doesn't really like basketball remember. She looked at me and it was a tight game that final game and she says why do are you making me do this? I'm invested now. Suddenly I remember I was so sad. I dropped the couch and I just sat in Darkness for the next thirty minutes. My wife realized what she's getting into. What is the matter said? She's so we went to best buy and bought mad and she's like play football to take your mind off. Carter about I've never gotten over. It added I know I know man. I drives me crazy. We just got a texter moments ago from from John Friday night. Smackdown with no fans was so weird. It's weird enough research yet okay. So I'm a big wrestling guy seemed so bizarre. I thought eighty W did a really great job on Wednesday actually putting on some matches and they brought all their other wrestlers out into the crowd as a way to try to simulate the crowd experience and arm but I saw something on twitter. I didn't see it live. I just saw it on twitter with stone. Cold Steve Austin screaming fans. He's like give me an if anything drew and we always knew this. And you're you got your. Dvr guys are an outlet for the people but if anything it shows just how crucial fans are two sports because it seems so awkward without them. Yeah you know one of the other things we've been doing to fill time and keep people involved with us is watching. Ken Burns Baseball Documentary and tweeting about that with people and we just watched one last night and they're talking about the very early days of Sandham guy named enough said who organized all these people and took them out to the ballpark to be super rowdy and cheering ways for their Boston club. That had never happened. And they're giving a lot of credit for the Boston team overcoming a three to nothing deficit and winning first ever world series because their fans got into the head of the other team and I think it's something we forget because we we fans at Games we we have no concept of what it would be like for fans to not be at games but we may have to learn what that's like and it will change it. I I think I bring this up a lot because I hate the wave and I stand do impacts the game on the field this is. They will die on this hill. I fan give to me all the time like oh come on like a professional athletes. That's doing what. If there's a reason the guy who quiet please sign golf game. There's a reason why. Peyton manning got his hometown crowd to shut up and had to train those Fan. Not Mess Up audibles in every sport The Fan changes it and not having them. There will change the games and it'll be fascinating to see how that'll work. Yeah it really will. I mean you're you're exactly right and they're the things you didn't like about fans of the things you loved about fans I think either way we're missing it because I need something to complain about. Do it even fans. They'll still figure out ways straight and run out on the floor on the field. This the one. That's there is one and he just drops his beard off. There goes our fan fan base boy. Well drew I know you guys are? We're all getting creative. And but the bottom line is and I tell everybody this. I said Luckily Sport we can talk about sports. We don't always have to have the game to analyze. We can talk about sports sports history. The WHO would you rather have this quarterback that quarterback this player that player. We get to have those discussions. So I'm pretty confident in a lot of people like you and of course what. We're pretty confident that we'll find a lot of creative content. The next couple of weeks one hundred percent and luckily I cover a sport that goes back to the eighteen thirty so I can start asking questions like what's more impressive. Dad Cy Young won a five hundred eleven games or the Christy Mathewson through three consecutive complete games twenty seven zero twenty seven innings zero run baseball world series I mean these guys are incredible honus Wagner did over three hundred for fifteen consecutive seasons those are those are the those are the stats that we need now. More than ever those historic figures. We need to be highlighting more and more of the stats the records. All of it. Those are great discussions. Yeah I love all that stuff and then we can have the debate. I started right away when I said you know cy young it is. It's the most unbreakable record in all sports. No one's ever GONNA come close to getting five hundred eleven win and all my new hockey friends started saying Wayne Gretzky's points. Are you out of your mind that we we have all the time in the world to have that debate now I love it man and you keep up the good work. We keep rolling through and pretty confident in the next couple of weeks. We'll find we'll find information. I did have somebody here at the station. His name is tanner drew. He wants to challenge you on the show. Mlb The show he wants to do a challenge at some point so after KF cavers dvr baseball game. He I don't know how good he is. I don't know how good you are but I'm worried to put our reputation on on that game but I guess that's where we are. Now that's what we gotta do. I will warn everyone and I'm not saying look I'm just throwing it out there. I'm very good no I want it. We're GONNA WE'RE GONNA make we gotta make this happen okay. We'll figure it out and I'm a little worried now because I I don't know how good our guy is. He just got the game so I don't know but I drew your baseball guy so I got to think that you're pretty darn good. We've got to bring. I think I was ranked like force in the world now. Holy cow okay. Well we need Can you can you give us a points or something does that can we do that? Can we start playing that game there? We go yeah.
