"About things like how to get the cat into it. Or classes, taking youngsters to the veterinarian for early exposure. So it's no big deal for them. So all of this, I think put in one bucket is making a difference for cats. For sure. And I speak about that a lot. That's great. Before we close out, I want to just ask you a question about the radio shows that you do, the outreach, the marketing, you know, any tips that you have for folks that are listening that are part of an organization on how to spread the word and get their information out about their programs and the work that they're doing? It's something really big to talk about. Yeah, my radio show. But you have local radio wherever you live and what the television. And yeah, I can be a challenge to get on, depending on the market for them. But in the dry anyway, if you have something important to say, then you can say it. Because, you know, there aren't radiation. I mean, my shows with one exception where I do in general language so that I love doing I talk to a lot of Anderson two weeks ago. And she looked absolutely gorgeous. I know she was on the radio but in my mind she would look at something gorgeous. And she did. So Doctor Fauci on a couple weeks before that, you know? So I'm having fun doing general radio it's like come from doing radio, but it's the pet radio show to believe that I'm all about. And, you know, there aren't radio shows like that in every market, but it doesn't mean a general talk station would be adverse to someone coming out and saying, oh my God, it's hitting season where we live. Consider adopting a fit and consider fostering the years that you do it on and so folks are interested in checking out your various shows, how would they do that? Well, first of all, I didn't give the website I don't think for the foundation. That's everything that Ford. I mentioned fear free and fear free happy homes. You know, there's so many websites out there with miss and disinformation. So with our pets, especially really, when it comes to behavior and food, so fearfully, happy home is a website that I am. So unqualified indoors, because there's great information. Even when I write a story for them, that's the rate is read over by 8 behaviors. Where does when does that happen, you know? So it's really pure reviewed. And since my website is Steve Dale, that TV, and you can go there and sign up for my dream. Newsletter. And keep up with what's going on in the company. Super. Anything else you'd like to share with our listeners today, Steve? I don't know. I can talk about anything. So yes, do I go on for two or three minutes about YouTube that anything? So after today's conversation and say, you know, you had a group of cats in your backyard. What would you do? If I had a group of cats in my backyard? Yeah, just if you happened to come across some cats in your backyard or your neighborhood, how would you respond? Would you I would hopefully do TNR or probably a vaccinate. And step it up to the benefit of those cats. There was any problem. That's among that group. They go to the shelter and adopt it out, but all the cats only go to the chuck are ultimately because they're vaccinated on this date. And then they're right back out where they were. Also, we have a program in Chicago. It's called the working class program, or cats have work program. Sorry, that's it work. And the cats do work. They're implying. And their job is to be there. And by being there, the rats aren't anymore. So they're put in certain parts of the city where there's that problem in Chicago that's the most in the city. But where they're requested to go. And generally, they don't come from rats, maybe young rats, but just a very presence, the rats disperse. They find new real estate because their value in real estate just went down in their perspective. So they find somewhere else to go and the cats can do just fine there. You know, wherever they happen, and that's a benefit of the city and a lot of different ways. It's a humane way to deal with gratitude. And it's also a more successful way. Just like we've tried everything else. You've tried shooting pits. Poisoning pants. Doing all these things that has been up towards associated with us. A millennia, and nothing previously worked. This works. And it's a humane and people friendly if you will, way to do it. And it's the same thing as far as the cats and the rats. It's a main way to do it. You're not even about poison, for example, that oftentimes doesn't work. Rats believe it or not, a rat will smell by that rat guy. The same thing. They're that smart. So, what is this? Completely anyway, but aside from that, but it gets into it. What about family dog or a family? Yeah. So or other wildlife. So this all prevents that from happening. That's great. Steve, I want to thank you so much for joining me today and being a guest on the show. And I hope we'll have you on again in the future. Anytime, thank you. That's it for this week. "More often as well. Steve Dale's other World on W G. N Trying to keep you informed. And I think when we'll just jump right into a doctor, Richard Novak, principal investigator for the Moderna Vaccine trial are number 312981 72 100. You can call you can text your choice. For Dr Novak. And I think the question that is, I know the question. That's been in the news. Do we get a booster? Dr Novak or don't we fight, sir? Similar product two years. Nearly identical. I think it's safe to say said at least the technology is said earlier in the week that I think booster is a good idea. But then the FDA said, Well, not yet. We don't need that yet. And the CDC said the same. So where is Moderna on this topic? Well, Moderna's busy working on boosters. They are prepared in the event that we need a booster. I think the government agencies are trying to say, well, the current vaccines we've got our are working, and they seem to still be working against these variants. There's still seem to be Providing adequate protection. So they're now was very important to pull the trigger yet on the boosters, but If I were a betting man, I would say that probably we're going to have boosters eventually. Does eventually mean this year does eventually mean when I couldn't be a guess. I don't know. I think probably not going to be this year. I think that they'll be ready for them right by later this year, But I think that we have to see what what's happening with the pandemic at that time. That's a very dynamic thing. We've got. Variants rug. Coming one after the other and And things could change at any time and they change fairly rapidly. So Your opinions about boosters may change rapidly as well. I don't recall the name of the doctor and may be better off that I don't because it's really not Germaine. But what he said is important, he said. For all those who are not getting vaccinated now, yes. Clearly they're putting themselves at risk, but they're also creating a viable way in which the variants can continue to evolve. Where if more people were vaccinated that could not occur. Is there. Does that make sense? Well, that's yes, it does. Absolutely. I mean, the variants come from people are having infections and the virus is evolving in those people. There, but it's happening all over the world and Delta variant that we're worried about now came from India. And they don't have a lot of vaccine in India. Similarly, right now the pandemic is raging in Africa entire continent. This is experiencing a huge surge in infections. And the opportunities there for variance to, uh, emerge or continue to evolve is huge, so Well, yes, we could get variants right here in the United States among people who aren't getting vaccinated. Variants are coming from all over the world. We actually have to vaccinate the entire planet. We can't just worry about the United States if we want to. Control the pandemic. Okay, So here's the text question. That is perfect as a follow up, So thank you, 63. Oh, and that question is if we had heard immunity here Then are we safer from the variance? Well, that's a good question. I think that we would be that if we had heard immunities and the amount of transmission of the virus in the United States would be very low. And so it doesn't mean that we couldn't get variance coming in. But, uh, we have so many people who are immune that very, very few people who could support the infection. Right now we're not there, and there's still plenty of people who are potentially could get sick from a virus. And so that's why we still have a smoldering Pandemic here in the United States. We have hot spots where the vaccine rates are really low. If those spots at high level high rates of vaccination, then they won't be having these churches. They would be similar to what we have here in Illinois, frankly. So well, yes and no So in Chicago. I don't know Today's numbers, but in Chicago, uh because of the rate of vaccination, I suppose the number of infections continues to be on the decline. In southwestern Illinois, where vaccination numbers aren't so great. The number of infections actually is on the rise. Uh, there seems to be a correlation there. I would suspect your degree. Yeah, well, let's face it over. 99% of the new in victims are occurring in people and vaccinated so Uh, anything else. Anybody can figure out fairly quickly that you don't get a vaccine. You're going to be susceptible. That's proof positive. The vaccines clearly worked. And And so if you have a vaccine protected, but There are even here. Even in Chicago. We've got, uh, some neighborhoods where people are not getting vaccinated and there Potentially taking time pounds because of the infection gets introduced into those neighborhoods. It's gonna spread. Okay, now, you said. I'm sure you didn't mean literally this way. But You said anyone can figure out if you're not vaccinated. You're more susceptible. I don't think that people are figuring that out somehow, you know, so I had Dr Fauci on the show. I don't know, two months ago, whatever it was, I've had other high profile. Physicians on this show like Doctor Jay Hotez, the guy with the bow tie you see on CNN and and others on this program. You are not as as a scientist, same league. Maybe a bigger league. I don't know. But same league for sure. But not as high profile. You don't do these sorts of interviews for which I'm grateful that you consent to talking to me. So thank you once again for doing that. Um When Dr Fauci and these others are on And you watch in social media with the comments are It's all unbelievable to me, people attacking them for saying kind of what you just said that the vaccine is protective that the vaccine makes a difference. And instead they're saying all these things the vaccine is going to kill people in an lan Lan and you have this disinformation out there that even public officials In some places are helping to perpetuate. How do you as a scientist feel about that? That's got to be the most frustrating thing on the planet. Well, it's hard. It's hard to fail them. People arrived at the things they do. I mean, there's definitely than social media. There's a lot of disinformation. So and there's a tremendous amount of distrust, uh, in certain communities of the government, and they believe the vaccine is all government driven, but Just as I said that 99% of the infections are occurring and unvaccinated people. That means that the vaccine is working. People are vaccinated are not among the people are getting sick. So, uh, there appears, you know, there's myths that there were injecting a Microchip into, uh, with the vaccine and the people so we can track them. That's that's apparently absurd, because, uh, that they're worried about being tracked. They shouldn't have a smartphone because the smartphone could be Tracked every enough. Uh huh. So at that, so microchip is totally irrelevant..

"Am Steve Dale. Welcome to the program. You know, Today is a holiday. You may have noticed that it is July 4th and what a beautiful day in Chicago and I thought, Let's talk to someone who might be able to tell me what July 4th was like back in 17. 76 and I have found the perfect person to do that. Of course, Paul Listener could have told me because he was around in 17 76. But beside that I've got him on the phone now. Seth David read Well, who wrote this book? It's a mouthful. July 4th American schism How the to Enlightenment Hold the secret to hold the secret to healing our nation. I'll say it again. Next time I'll say it much better than that. I apologize. Seth welcome the W G. N Well, thank you, Steve. It's a pleasure to be here with you. Well, it's good to talk to you. So I think I'll start here if we can go back. And I'm sure you do have handy because you should a time machine and we can go back in time. The 17 76 What was life generally like back then? Well, it was the height of the rebel what we now call the spirit of 76, the revolutionary period and the columnists who are increasingly concerned about what they perceived as onerous taxation and regulation by the British Crown. And as such it it was very important for the really became the founding of our country. That particular error and it was one of the revolutionary spirit overall. What was life like for the I want to talk about more about that. But what was life like for the average citizens? You know your average family husband, wife? What did most husbands and wives Do and their kids. What was what was it like? Well, it was. It was very much kind of an agrarian economy and an emergent economy. And I guess the average person was concerned because the colonial leaders who they had some confidence in because peace you know, things in the colonies had been going alone pretty well in the in the recent years, except for this This British control so to speak, so they had confidence in their local leadership. But at the same time they were very trepidatious. Because here you had leaders tell him that they needed to break away from the crown, but they had no sense of what was going to be in its place. You know, famously in the 17 fifties, Benjamin Franklin's would cut, join, join free or die really was like this message that they needed to unify as a group of colonies in order to fend off the power of the British and so there were. There was a lot of spirit around that age. I probably should also mention that Thomas Paine's Pamphlet, which was published the beginning of 76 Common Sense had become a sensation so many people who were educated enough to read the news. Read Thomas Paine's pamphlet. How do people get? I presume? There wasn't social Media wasn't bigger back then. No, not at all. Not at all. No. So how did people get their news? Was it By Paul Revere riding on horseback and telling them things well, not quite. That's quite thankfully because simply event together pregnant. Benjamin Franklin was a printer. There are printers throughout the colonies and printers published what they called pamphlets, which are in essence opinion pieces by leaders. In fact, many of them at the time were published anonymously. For various reasons, either. The authors were fearful of retribution from the crown If they said nasty things, um or they felt that they that the author wanted to hide behind a pseudonym Thomas Paine's piece was factory because You know, it really spoke to the needs of the common people of the day. So while at at various conventions, you had, uh, very, very well known leaders like John Adams in Boston and Samuel Adams and John Hancock at Thomas, the young Thomas Jefferson from Virginia. These were very educated people. They were somewhat aristocratic elites, and they were discussing revolution and whether they should break away in a crowded room that it was time. It's pains. Words that got to the average citizen of the colleagues that time and convince them that they the Communist should not. Have to put up with the type of provision understanding armies that the crown were promulgating throughout the colonies. You know what's interesting is that all those other names you mentioned? Of people know today. Obviously who Thomas Jefferson and Samuel Adams and all of the people know those names. Thomas Paine. His name hasn't held up through time. Who was the dude? Right? That is a great question, Steve and it goes to the heart of American schism. I mean, in essence, what I try to do an American schism is understand the divisions in America today by going back And during an investigative tracing of the roots of those divisions back to our founding and so to your coin. Thomas Paine is not nearly as well known today. Although he was extremely influential in the revolutionary period. We're discussing as one of the quote unquote radicals, along with Benjamin Franklin and and the book talks about to enlightenment. So what does that mean? Well, It means that there were two different schools of enlightenment thought that were influencing the birth of our nation, and one was more of kind of what I call the moderate enlightenment in the book. It was influencing John Adams and Alexander Hamilton and other founders who very much were aristocratic elites. But the other one was more radical in that it provided for the notion of a representative democracy, a more egalitarian society. And that's the one that Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Paine and Thomas Jefferson promoted. So there was this conflict. If you will, and the reason why I think it's so interesting for your listeners is that these conflicts that happened back in the 18th century are actually at the root of what's going on in America today, and why one of the reasons we're so divided And that's what your book really is all about. So when you're turning on name, the news network, it doesn't matter or any radio station and you hear an expert or the commentator, at least say, America has never been so divided or public officials say that a senator A member of the House of Representatives. Do you cringe and say, Yeah, we have been Yes, I do. Because the truth of the matter is the political divisions we observed nowadays are not new. Our country has always been has frequently been divided and very divided since our founding And over the different areas across 200 years. We've always had divergent views on how the U. S should be wrong. But there is one important caveat. Uh, Steve, which is that? Today. We have a level of denial of objective truth that's threatening our democracy. So if we reject if we reject the notion of facts and objective truth altogether Democracy as a form of government is doomed. So I think whatever your political beliefs, you know what what the book that Americans gives him discusses it that it is important to make sure that views are grounded in reason and objective and empirical observation. These in fact, are inherited from the Enlightenment, and I believe that one of the districts is today is that well, there's always been a mix of passion and and reason in debate. Today to a large degree. A lot of our objective rationality and debate has been crowded out by rancor, acrimony and division that emotional and passion driven and not really based on facts and arguments. I like the danger. I want to pick that up in a second. Have a text here. 312981 72 100 texture wants to know, uh And it's a bit off topic, but it's not Was Hamilton real? I suppose they're referring to the play, So everything you saw in that play was that was that factor fiction. I believe that's the question. Well, Hamilton not only was real, he was a genius, but he was in the founding of our nation. What you don't get so much from the plague, but you certainly do get from turnouts. Biography of Hamilton is the divisions between Hamilton and the other revolutionaries built founders..

"Past professional experiences you can kind of give a good a good range of project but there are so many outside of an estimate that need to be addressed and so when you start doing that that proposal work. That's part of the planning work that pre planning work and you should be working for clients based on a relationship. Not based off of priced. 'cause you base your relationship off of a off of price. There could be some bad things that happened along the way right. That's true you wanna be be building trust and rapport with your clients. When that bad situation comes up you can work as trust in relationship to figure it out. Yes and a lotta times arrived. Found is a few price your jobs correctly. You're able to show up. You're able to give them a better customer experience at a journey. that's great. what are some customer red flags the stick out to you if you meet a customer for the first time what are red flags you should be aware of. I've i've my gosh. How long is this. Just give your how about your best one. What's the number one red flag the while shopping your customer. Your pencil customer is. That's up there. I really think red flag is if somebody thinks that everyone else will give me a an a proposal which is actually an estimate. And if they're not willing to put some skin in the game early on that's a huge red flag for me. I i will not an okay. I take that back in the past. I have turned my cheek the other way. Because i i tried to. I was trying to add value. Or i was trying to address prospect in a way like they're going through a hard time. I learned that this process works. Because when you turn your when you turn your cheek the other way and try to gives me the benefit of the doubt it can bite you in the butt in so it really is. It really does hold true that it doesn't have to be that much so you're gonna start out small on charging proposal feerick consultation fee as a contractor in the field we have the expertise and the knowledge. We've probably all been in that situation. Where the prospects. They're not even clients are just their prospect. They're just seeking us out. They extrapolate all this this wisdom and knowledge out of our head and then ended up chinese it for their own gain or they tried to use your knowledge against you with other bids the so called receive a big one. Here you give a proposal to client and they try to use another contractors bid against you like saying well so and so was x. Amount we really really want to. Have you do the work if you can meet this number. The job is yours. That right there too is like please please please. If you are faced with that that is just a trap. We know as as being in the filled. It's tough work if we allow clients to dictate our business. Then we're not relieving running our own business where our clients are running for us. And that's just a totally bizarre way of thinking and right in in that touches on perhaps one of my other notes here that you talk about business owner versus job owner. Is that relatable to that statement that you just made about the customers running the business. Instead of the business owner of a business owner versus john. Boehner really talks about you. Know the the biggest owner being the bottleneck of the company trying to do everything..

"Is troubling when you see that beach line erosion and trying to fight it, like you say against Mother Nature is not an easy Things and you know it. It's not just the fact that we haven't had ice but the lake level has been so high, so I know people sometimes say climate change automatically. You get high lake levels Remember back in 2012. We had really, really hot weather really dry weather in the lakes, right? All time lows, and we had a ton of each, so I don't think this is something that's gonna happen all the time. But the trend has definitely been there. And that's one of the things you think about. When you think long term, however, short term the bottom line is winter storm warning snow coming into the area, probably the next two hours. And so I would not be surprised to see anywhere between two and three inches by midnight. 45 maybe six inches of snow by early tomorrow morning, although I'm still thinking somewhere between four in 4.5, and it's going to be a second little batch of Lake of sex. Now that comes in late tomorrow afternoon. Another week system comes at us on Wednesday, but that one right now looks to be pretty weak and we could see something over the weekend. It's trending more snow that rain, but On Monday afternoon. I think we're gonna be more worried about what's coming in Monday night rather than what's coming in here for the upcoming weekend, All right, So here's my question to you before I let you go. And I appreciate your time. If you are a kid in school, and you're learning remotely meaning not going into school, Rick Tamayo, should you still get a snow day tomorrow? What? You don't know? What's the right thing? Great question. I guess you get to stay home place, right? But I mean, go out and play in the snow and get so like, you know, not have to do that. You know the learning so much but be out there because that's a Snowden. You and I probably growing up about the same time. Maybe me a little bit later. Um or a little bit earlier. Rather, you were not allowed to go outside and play in the snow until you other shoveled the walk, shoveled uniquely walk. Perceval the car out. You had to do your chores first before you got to play in the snow, But I think if anybody is planning on maybe not going to work or school tomorrow because of the snow And I wait for the next one. This one is going to be kind of an in between it all makes sense. Thank you. Appreciate it, Rick so much. Thanks for taking the time for us today. Good to hear from you. Rectum. I Oh, there he is. "Conti dot com. I got a nice, uh, email or this week. Who wants to know He's a coach at a junior high community rec team, and he's a volunteer, and he wants to know if he could be held liable if the student gets the virus. And I told him well, he that that person would have to prove first of all that he contracted the virus as a result of being on that team number one and number two that the coach did something wrong. Something negligent meaning didn't provide social distancing didn't mandate mask or did something that was otherwise negligent and those two things to me. It would be very, very, very hard to prove. Um, And but as a result, you can I understand why you would be very concerned about such a lawsuit, especially if you're a volunteer. So I always tell people who are volunteer. See if you can get in writing from the organization or the church or the school that if you ever get sued for something relating to what you're doing is a volunteer that they would step in and defend you with their lawyers. And that they would reimburse you for any monetary damages. As long as you want acting willfully. They should be willing to do that. Because why should you take on that responsibility and your insurance? Whatever insurance you might have may not cover that Which would put you at risk. So that's my best advice to you on that issue. I'm gonna play a little quiz and we have Uh, we have an from Addison who? I'm going to go down right now. High. And how are you? I'm good. Thank you. How are you care? I'm doing well, Do you know a lot about animals and animal issues? Not at all. Okay, Well, what we're gonna do is I'm gonna get Steve Dale on the line. Hi, Steve. How are you doing? I'm a little worried. Okay, Well, me too, eh? So here's how we're gonna play this. I'm making the rules up as we go along, so because I'm because it's my radio show, so I get to make them up. So I'm going to ask you some questions there multiple choice and they have to do with animals in the news. Some of them are legal. Some of them are not and that and you're gonna answer them. And if you and if you really feel like you need help from Steve I'm going to ask you to ask Steve and Steve made you see if you can. You're allowed to give little hints, okay? Can't give the end. No, no, You're not giving the answer, though. You're you're here is like a lifeline. But you're like the animal. You're the animal lifeline here. Okay. Oh, do we all understand the rules? Okay. Doesn't matter. Come on down. That's right door number one. I'm so there's probably people out there who don't even know what I'm talking about. When I say door number one, Okay. Can are you ready? Okay. Okay. Here we go. First question. These animals tested positive for Cove it in a San Diego zoo. A tiger's be lions see bears or D gorillas. Gorillas. You know what's good job, Steve? You really helped out with that one really helped out. Dad is actually more specifically, they were low land gorillas. They were lowland gorillas not to be. But that doesn't mean that they're lower forms of life. They're just from the lowlands. Right, So they were like coughing. And so some person who worked there had to go collect its fecal matter. Fecal matter which you know what if you don't like your job? Think about what that jobs like. And then they tested him and they were tested positive. And the girl girls are now quarantining, but I hear they're refusing to wear masks. Did you hear that to Steve? Well, you know, it's not a surprise. I mean, actually, what the surprise is is that it's taken that long for a non human primate that that we know of. It's probably happened to contract the coronavirus. Because pretty much anything we can get. Gorillas are and attends chimpanzees and bonobos, for sure. The great apes can get us well. Interesting. All right, ready and you're doing you're doing really well. Raunchy this week, making me nervous, but go ahead. This week, a manatee was found in Florida River with what etched on its body. A A treasure map. Be the word Trump. See a Nike logo or D ah Miami Dolphins emblem. It's a B B trump. You are right it, Steve, You're doing a great job. You're doing a great job, giving her hints of its telepathy. Maybe constantly, well, so you're right, and it didn't appear to be harmed Informality, but it did have it. It was etched in algae is my understanding and an investigation has been opened by there. Department. Natural Resource is And of course, Rudy Giuliani is calling this no evidence of voter fraud. Yeah, it's a lawyer trying to make a joke. Okay, All right. And I'm very impressed. Steve. Did you know that story? That news story? I did? Actually, yes. And Can a manatee's super hurt feelings? Wow. I wonder what? Yeah, I wonder what party the manatee was? Yeah, I don't know. How do you get that close for that long to write that word? I don't know. Maybe it was sleeping. We'll see. Okay, let's go to all right. A courageous animal enforcement officer saved a dog trapped on an island this week, and that island was known for a filming Gilligan's Island. Be known to be surrounded by alligators. C had 10 FT. Deep quicksand on it, and D, the location where Amelia Earhart crashed. Steve, are you back with us? I don't know why he's so quiet Help. He's gonna He'll come back, but And you know what you're doing? Just fine. Who needs Steve Del? I guess my question. "On W G. And this Friday afternoon. Hey, our favorite pet expert, Steve Dale joins us now. And Steve. Steve, You have very real human news. In addition to the pet news, you bring us today because you've been part of the vaccine trials. You were you part of that? Volunteered for it. You've been chronicling it for us here at WGN radio talking about it, and you got a big reveal. Recently you got you learn something. It's exactly what it was. I felt like I was having a baby. Did you shoot something out of a cannon? And it was like pink or blue or something? I just saw one of those the other day. It was like that, actually, except it wasn't quite that dramatic. So the associate at the University of Illinois, where I've been going for whether it was the plus cibo or the real vaccine. I'm gonna find out so she sits down in front of her computer. And I said, Do you mind if I hold up my phone and video record this and she said no. Never missed the moment to record it for the insta. Great. That's me, So she types in my name and she looked at the screen and she says Plus. Tebow. Oh, you got the placebo? I know. I know. Did you think? What did you think? Did you think all along? You know, I think I don't know. I just have the feeling on that. You know, I really didn't My sister, though. Bet me a gallon of ice cream. She was confident that it was the placebo. I don't know how she knew. When my mom said the same, She said it is the placebo. I'm a mother. I know. But I don't know how else they could have known because there was no way so I did get yesterday. I waited around. I said, you know, I have some choices now do do I want to then get the vaccine or don't die before they can even ask the question. I said yes, I want the vaccine and I got the vaccine. So now I there's a booster that comes three weeks later. But I got the first time and this time I know it was the real deal. I still have to do all these sorts of things, though, because I'm stolen the study, so I still have to fill out all this sort of paperwork, I say, but it's all done. There isn't a piece paper involved. It's all done through my phone through a nap, and I fill out all these questions every day about how I'm feeling. Take my temperature is my arm's swollen is my head swollen. My arm is not swollen. By the way, my head well, that was swollen before all this even began. And and I do all that stuff, right? Yeah, I feel all this stuff out, and, uh, I'm more than glad to do that. And I'm honored, thrilled that I got the vaccine. That's it's awesome that you participated. And I know you've been very proud of it. And that's that's really cool. Because if we didn't have people like you volunteering to be part of it, I don't know where we'd be. You know, You need that as to get us where we are now. We're there. Unveiling it at least for the health care community and pretty soon as early as next week. We're hearing people 65 older and we'll see about after that, do you? You was that part of the deal that you automatically would be offered the vaccine at the end if you participate in the trial I really didn't know when. When it all began that I mean, this was put together so quickly. I believe in talking to on my show on Sunday afternoon, and w g m. Dr Richard Novak, who is in charge this particular trial. He said, ethically, they felt they kind of had to do that, You know, so they did, and that's that's a good thing for those involved in the trial. I can't imagine many people. In the trial would be opposed to vaccines because the whole point of the trials to be vaccinated, so I'm assuming the overwhelming majority of people have not everyone in the trials that sure, of course I want the vaccine, except for those lucky 50% that were already vaccinated. There was a 50 50 shot, but I'd either Have gotten a placebo, or I got the real deal. Never never go with me to Vegas. This explains why I mean so I just got the placebo. But nevertheless, now I'm vaccinated at least the first part of the official piece of paper that says so. And I very probably walk around with that. Very cool. I want to see that at some point. Hey, not Tonto. We actually have to mention that you've You interviewed Dr Fauci on there, too? So that was really cool. Was it also because you're part of this whole thing that He wanted to come on and talk to you. What was that? What was the deal there? You just reached out to him. Reached out home in part It was old fashioned journalistic persistence, I suppose, and part of was good luck. You just happen to have that Sunday free at that particular point in time. Maybe I did mention that I was in the trial. Maybe that had something to do with that. I mentioned everything I could to try to get him, you know? Um, I even lied about what sports teams. I followed that found out which ones he follows, And I said I'm a fan, too. You know anything to get the interview, right? Save that far, did you anyway, It was awesome that you got it was really, really cool, and it was a great interview. Thank you, And he was very, very nice. And afterwards we communicated a little by text. In the end. I'm honored as some very nice things to say about the questions. I asked, so that was nice. It is good you can I assume that's posted two on WGN radio dot com. People can check that out if they'd like to see your interview with Dr Fauci. Indeed it is. They could hear it. And same on my It's also on my website, which is, of course, Steve dale.

"All the people Sunday standards with John Williams tonight It's seven wt Steve Dale Sunday afternoon. I'm 7:20 P.m.. Yeah. What's your New year's resolution? Huh? Are they any different this year for most people will talk about that in a little bit. Eyes exercise among them well next week we have on the show Michael Moody, who is a professional trainer. He will get us all he'll whip us into shape. I'm certain of that. As we do every week on the show. I try toe talk about restaurants, the most that I possibly can and promote restaurants talk about what restaurants are doing and how they're making it through. In this restaurant is one that you can go to and sit outside a little bad Wolf. That's the name of the restaurant and Andersonville co owner. South Ash back is with us Sow. Uh, your macaroni is just incredible. Doing, Steve. Thanks for having me today. I appreciate the compliment. You're welcome. But what I want. I appreciate the macaroni. What I really appreciate is the beer list that I think I stopped the page 412. I mean, it goes on forever. Yeah, it's it's a pretty big one. It's we want to want to make sure we had something for everybody. And indeed you do lots of different whiskeys, too. But rather than me describe the restaurant, I'm thinking you could do a far better job. Well, you know when when you say that we had a big beer and whiskey list and cocktail. Missed. A lot of people don't know little bit Wolf. You know, we put lbw on the door start off with the concept is, you know, liquor, beer and wine. We're really a cocktail lounge and beer bar first and whiskey's bar before the food and, you know we started guilt, cooking the food and making the food and and we were leading with the drinks, you know. Hence the lbw and And then the food just really took up. You know, big time We got a lot of calculates for it about our customers seem to really appreciate it. So, um we were intended to have the 10 15 pages of, you know, liquor, beer and wine and then one page of food, But the food just ended up kind of taking off. So it has nothing to do with little red Riding Hood as I assumed. No. You know what? We really like that art? I don't know if you got a chance to go in the restaurant, um, you know, without with this craziness going on, sitting outside in tents and in January, um, but I want to stop you there because it really wasn't. Yes, it is. Craziness. I mean, who would have ever thought On the other hand, It's really not so bad. It's a tent. So on one side of this tent There's a table and two or maybe four, perhaps considered that table on the other side of the 10. Probably 10. Ft. Away is another table that concede two or four people s. Oh, there is social distancing. You're under this tent. But when you walk through the tent, you walk through what is kind of like an open door of sorts. And that has left that way. So there's air constantly coming through. But overhead. You have four or five heaters that heat the tent. No, it's not a bombing 85 degrees in there. But if you if you're bundled up as long as it's not 20 below, if you're outside, if you're bundled up, it's really not so bad. You know, way have been jumping through hoops, and I'm sure all restaurants in Chicago and across the country been doing trying to figure out how we go about no salvaging somewhat of other restaurants in general, You know how we serve some customers and the tense when when we decide to live like there's no way this is gonna work. And is it really even worth doing it? We're talking about. We have four tables out there to win each time when we normally have 32 tables to see so, But we're just like, okay, let's give it a try it and just like you said. We were pretty surprised. No, it didn't take it up. 30 40 50 degrees, you know, tenting it in, but it took it up 20. So if it's 30 out, it's like 50 in there with a coat. It's pretty good. It's not bad.
