"Thes to profoundly bright men from their annual issue of the 100 most influential black Americans. Cash, Thomas all by the way, I've read so much of his works. He is absolutely brilliant, and he actually had it had a big influence on me, sort of as a young person. As I read some of his His work really, really, really smart guy, But you're right. I mean, it's it's just that they don't They don't respect that other point of view, and and there's a sense that You know, And I guess I'm troubled because it's all for political reasons. Right? Like if you really want to help people and help them get ahead. I mean, why would you deprive kids of an opportunity Saver for voucher? To go to a better school. And and that's why I am so contemptuous of the way Obama dealt with Pope matters of race Close quote again He got elected after people saw him on 60 minutes and Steve Cross that am Senator, If you don't get to win, this race will be because of race. And I said back, and I said, What is this man going to say? And he didn't know if I don't win the race. It'll be because I have not shown the American people of vision that bacon embrace and I said, Oh, hallelujah! What happens in Cambridge Police acted stupidly if I had a funny look like Trayvon Oh, we have our own problems. It's a place called Ferguson. Hey, invites out struck in the White House from 70 are times embraces black lives matter. He then picked up the race card and played it because he knew of a politician in order to get re elected. "Fast. One either earnings keep rolling in check out shares of Ford Rallying, after hours. Let's get to fill a bow in Chicago with the details. Hey. Phil Hey Melissa the reason they're moving hires because Ford reported a smaller loss than expected. Now, let's be clear the company lost one point nine, billion dollars in the second quarter at thirty six cents a share or thirty five cents a share that was far better than what analysts were expecting. They were expecting a loss of at. At least a buck seventeen year, automotive revenue coming in a little bit better than expected. That's not a surprise given. The fact that we knew there would be strong demand wants the factories fired up again starting in early? May, and that's what happened there. They ended with thirty, nine, billion dollars in cash on hand, and they're saying look even if there's a resurgence of covid nineteen, which nobody is expecting at this point, they've got enough cash to make it through that and. And get through the rest of this year. This week, they repaid seven point, seven billion dollars on their credit lines. That's a strong indication of how they feel their cash position their guidance for the third quarter, a profitable between a half billion and one point, five billion dollars. Part of that is because the launches that were expected in the third quarter. Those vehicle launches are now in the fourth quarter. So Ford expects to have loss in the fourth quarter because of those vehicle. Vehicle Launches One of those vehicles that we're GONNA be talking about. We're going to talk with CFO Tim Stone, tomorrow morning, I on CNBC squawk on the street. You don't want to miss this interview. We'll talk not only about a smaller than expected loss, but how Ford is positioned itself. Now, the perhaps perhaps we can say the turnaround is starting to take hold their little early to say that definitively Melissa, but that's this is the most encouraging. I think, I've heard analysts. And the conference call that's going on right now in a long time, I mean they're talking about one hundred, thousand reservations for the new Bronco, SUV? Right already. So there was huge demand for that. I look. Do I. Think there's demand for the Bronco. You Bet do I think it will do well absolutely. But these reservations new vehicle is introduced on Melissa. It's easy for you when I'd say give me one hundred dollars put down there. I don't read too much into it. Tell me what happens when they actually deliver. All right. Thanks. Phil, Bogan Forty, two percent. We didn't want to draw your attention to the headlines across your screen on the bottom, which is that the five G. iphone could be delayed by a few weeks according to Tim, Cook this because of supply delays we sort of expected I just want to get through this quickly before we trade four and we sort of expected this given what welcome said and their release that they saw an impact on their outlook because of partial delay of a flagship five G. phone. It doesn't take much to assume that that is apple guy. But as long as maybe they hit the store shelves. So to speak by the holidays, it's all okay Yeah. Look. If that's the worst thing that he says today. I, mean. That's a huge win. So I think to your point after hearing what Qualcomm said and sort of reading tea leaves. This all that unexpected. Let's get back to Ford here. Steve Cross This is a favorite I. Think the number one holding of robinhood investors. Yeah I. Mean, this is if you look at the Stock Price, obviously down twenty, seven percent, it's been on, I was one of those people that put down one hundred dollars, I'm a sucker for the. Bronco, reminds me of my youth. I, put one hundred dollars down I unlike Phil being. So pessimistic I will take delivery of that Bronco once it does come do. What have you look at technical level? You're caught between the two hundred day, which is seven nineteen and the fifty day, which is six, thirty four. Great Entry for the Stock Right now, that's been. So beaten on the covid low was four dollars. I. Think. You're okay to be buying Ford here. All right. Let's get to another couple of names that reported today. UPS Talking the tape serving nearly fifteen percent hitting a fresh off. The company reporting a spike in home delivery numbers during the coronavirus ten. This is your final trade yesterday. Squirrel gets an wants to. I think the revenue mix with something people were very concerned about with ups because of the retail shift, a lack of be to be, and these numbers were good. The marches, there are good. The you know the the the trend here is certainly been. Very, very strong for both the shippers both ups and Fedex. So I think if you look at the margin profile, it's something that you still have to watch right now and when you consider the COVID, the covid rush, what this is actually meant for these guys. If anything, this has been a blessing in disguise in the force them to raise their game a little bit, which is amazing by the fact, that guy is no longer driving for ups. which obviously, they need him during these very busy times. Different numbers by UPS. A fourteen percent, maybe they have no use for guidance, these cove at times. How could they not how you know that? If you. Prick me do I. Not believe that hurts I have feeling. So hard to believe that actually I got a call. Thank you. Eighty, cry. Extend call from ups last week actually, and they asked me to come back. They asked me if I'd be interested in taking up some shifts. Yeah. Wise Guy. So maybe that's why the stocks. All right. Let's get the shares of procter and gamble. Also talking tape today, the company posting, it's the largest annual sales gain since two, thousand, six strength and the home care unit..

What to watch for during Trump's 2020 State of the Union address

"To all state of the union night and I expect the state of the union to feature the president talking about space force so I have a tenant general Steve quashed former commander Air Force education training lieutenant general costs of course serve many many years in the airforce to join me to talk about that good morning general good to have you back well good morning good to hear your voice I wanna begin general with an off them off topic question I I usually spend election day because they're so doggone long I trying to movie so yesterday I went and saw a movie which surprised me a little bit call the last full measure it's about a pararescue jumper by the name of William Pynchon Berger who received the medal of honor in nineteen ninety nine after thirty years after it was in nineteen sixty six battle in which he lost his life jumping in the middle of a firefight involving big red one were you ever aware of this story were you aware of this movie it hadn't gotten any publicity at all yes I was aware of that but these are the kind of things that I pay attention to as a person who tries to protect this nation and so all of the human stories about heroes that are willing to give the last full measure are of great interest to me because the society that and genders of the kind of motivation for people to protect their values in this society that lasts it is and I am amazed that the cast in this movie Samuel L. Jackson Sebastian said Christopher Plummer and Heris I mean it the Peter Fonda just goes on and on and on and it hasn't gotten a lot of look back at the Vietnam generation you're too young for that but they deserve this kind of a movie and I hope people go and see it and I hope they learn the story of William Pitts and bart what surprised me general that I moved to space force of the nearly four thousand medal of honor that have been confirmed only three have been received by airforce enlisted man are you surprised by that well I'm not you know the the interesting thing about life and about that this habit you have going to the movies is something I'd like to propose all your listeners because for people to reflect on what's going on around them what what what this all means is really important in movies like that help tell the story about what this all means the fact that it's this many army or this many Air Force of this many navy is really immaterial what is important is that we have a cadre a group of people in the society who are willing to put on the clock defense to protect the values that has made this country great right now general want to switch to the state of the union it's going to be on in about wealth six o'clock tonight and you are eight o'clock nine o'clock tonight he's got six truck west coast presence gonna walk out there and for the first time ever I believe there will be a member of the joint chiefs of staff pouring a space force uniform am I correct in that I am assuming that that will be the case we'll see tonight when we actually a turn on our TV use that I I think that that will happen and what will you feel when you see that tonight well great pride great pride in our country at recognizing some of things that are changing around us just just as the changes that took place when we moved from the hunting gathering gardening age to the industrial age we are moving into a new network H. that is going to change life for all human beings on planet earth no matter where you live and the space forces are as at that person in that uniform is a recognition by this country that we as Americans need to lead ourselves into this new future or we will be led by somebody else now in the collection of categories of weaponry and mission but the space fourth collects will they have cyber general quash well again sometimes we get trapped into these silos of trying to assume for it predict the future of saying you are gonna do this you're going to do that the ways these take place successfully in history is when you start with new capability meaning you say what what is the problem what are we trying to do you build their capability and then you then you decide what mission that capability should should do OB otherwise what you do is you start making assumptions for the future that were true in the past and it doesn't fit and you can sometimes lose if you if you fall into that intellectual trap what I'm particularly speaking to is that each of the branches for example fly a sort of helicopter for a sort of mission that's not particular to any of the services Coast Guard S. helicopter therefore sent helicopters army as helicopters maybe as helicopters space for sits there and they have a unique mission and a new frontier do you expect them to fly helicopters or are they going to be much more focused on a particular set of instruments in a particular set of capabilities and when will we know what those are and and how they will develop right and that that's a great question and you know the reason everybody flies crafted because as we invented the airplanes the right brothers invented the airplane in nineteen oh three the world started figuring out how powerful it was to use the air to travel and to do all kinds of things communicate and and so everybody needed it and within what it was that they were trying to do the same is going to be true in space space is cell under utilized right now we we think we we work in space by having satellite fall around the earth but it is an entirely new geography so everybody will benefit from space everybody will use space out but the space force will in the future start defining what they can do that nobody else can do and that will start emerging as they build new capability so everybody will use space but only the space force will do those things that nobody else can do like for example if this involves the way I think it should be historically they should defend commerce and space so that anybody that is working as an American and space in any kind of business that is providing goodness and prosperity to our country have somebody that will protect their values protect their hard work and bring rule of law and expense of justice to that environment no I don't wanna go Star Wars honest but we don't have any capability right now to do that do we we don't have a shuttle that's flying we do have a lot of private sector initiatives in the area of space but do we have any vehicle the commander space in return well we do and that the and and they are growing and emerging more and more every day so what you're going to see is it Thomas is there we as a nation I never knew there was an ocean out there we were just on land and we were just doing our thing growing our food gathering and we discovered that there was this ocean and people started building canoes and boats and ships and the same happening here with space space is a geography of resources and potential prosperity and we are gonna explode into it as we go forward so there are something like the X. thirty seven is an example of a it's really a tiny little subtle but it can go up into space you can come back down and the lawn mosque is building the starship Jeff bass services building has aircraft that or space craft and we are literally emerging and to an age where it is going to be aviation like access to space where you can get into a space craft you can take off you can be anywhere in the world in less than an hour and back home for dinner and that will become pedestrian meaning everybody will do it just like you flying a plane get the LA to New York right now two very quick question general both about tonight's state of the union what is the relationship with NASA between the space force enough there and what do you expect the president to say about space force and or about NASA tonight or what would you like him to say well I I think I would like the president to remind the American people of this this this power of understanding what is going on around us and what is going around us on around this is technology is changing world power and we are moving into a new realm where space is going to change the way we deliver energy and information and and to remind the American people that going forward with the space force is a way for America to late because some civilization will lead into this new ocean of prosperity and historically whoever lead into that new area well defined the values and I want the values of free speech a quality human right and life and liberty I do not want to I do not want the values that we see being imposed on those in Hong Kong or the Uighurs I I want American values in this new prosperous economy because we value and respect human life general clients thank you for joining us lieutenant general Steve cross former commander Air Force air education and training command expert in space force thank you for bring in some perspective for the state of the union tonight of course I have most of the key state of the union tomorrow and maybe by tomorrow as well Wallace whatever's alter my what don't hold your breath let's talk a little bit about why Joe Biden collapsed first of all you gotta understand yesterday morning Joe picked a bad time to go on the today show and sort of melt down with Savannah Guthrie cut number two has it occurred to you that there's a certain irony here that has the president is accused seven is that knowledge wanting to get information about your son hunter in his dealings with Ukraine and this process of impeachment has ensured that everyone knows about hunters dealings with Ukraine no one's found anything wrong with his day was a crazy except they say such a bad image what do you agree that a sense about him and my son said that do you think it

"We got like on the twitter feeds yes the like love is dead and relationship goals 'em you know and and i think what we were also guilty of although we had an unbelievable marriage and we have a great friendship now we love our son to death and i'm really proud of that because i'm not sure i did that well i first time here but i do like i think you know we obviously cultivated something stormy daniels sixty minutes interview with anderson cooper on sunday night brought in twenty one point three million viewers for cbs new or special you remind me of my daughter you know he's like you're smart and beautiful and a woman to reckon with i'd like you i like you that makes it the the most watched episode since steve cross interview with barack and michelle obama back in november of two thousand eight after former president porn star on his tail attracted twenty four and a half million viewers so the obamas still be stormy but just barely beat obama to are you saying it'd be this year's grammys and the golden oh my god just how bad those award shows in the other funny thing was shannon you were out and might not have realized this was late late everybody's scoops sixty minutes because they already sent out the full transcript and everything to news organizations and embargoed until seven o'clock so everybody like tmz and everybody else was like tweeting full details and stories and everything before it even aired but still you wanted to sit down and watch maybe that ended up where there were bars around where i was that we're having viewing parties for the stormy daniels interview which i thought was so funny the los angeles rams have signed defensive tackle in former detroit lion can sue to a one year contract worth fourteen million dollars obviously he played his first five years of the lion spent the past three seasons with the miami dolphins the twin line did i'm waking up with mojo in the morning now got him back even though some people were hoping and fifth harmony's lauren's uruguay is in the upcoming issue of playboy maxine no nudes picks break up and go their own projects there is an article inside because that's why y'all read playboy right she talks about.

"To have you with us it is so vital friend that we make significant headway in getting a resources to the people that are suffering in puerto rico and i just cannot explain well nearly as as importantly as some of the people that are there can how long this process is taking to get the in the structure going once the infrastructure is up there still a ton of rebuilding that has to go on but listen to from this is from sixty minutes from this last sunday night when steve crossed steve kroft asked the one of the army corps of engineers general sermon i think as his name about how long it's going to take just to get the basic grid for the electricity across the country to get rebuilt cut six to get some sense at how arduous the task of restoring howard neighborhoods and businesses will be a good person to talk to his lieutenantgeneral todd seminar who runs the army corps of engineers house the last mile is going to take a walk time and these are probably sixty two thousand powerpoles they have to be brought in from the united states they'd have to be shipped to your over water and then you're going to run sixty one hundred miles of cable so just the magnitude of that programme do you want it done in a couple of weeks of course you do but the science and engineering in a logistics to be able to make that happen is just going to take some time how long do you think this is going to take we're going to push like heck i think the majority of people will hope to have their power up in in january may be fair were i would predict or some people on at last mile that are going to be closer spranger summer before they get those very very last als spranger summer touch atmophere for food for the poor that's a longtime from right now to be living without any refrigeration with a to be living without any a basic a communication network the of the ability to survive for six months without electricity act i can't even begin to fathom well the people there obviously uh incredibly resourceful but you're right it's it's a tremendous hardship and then you know sadly kevin the the the governor of of a puerto rico governor rosero he said that the most of the small businesses now i've had.

"Families who have children going into the iraq war or dealing with and it's a it's a unique film i think like every link later thing this doesn't feel like a big narrative experiment by boyhood it's one of his smaller films may be something like what was the one with jack lack of love bernie bernie yeah it's a quiet little film i think also pretty quietly devastating to because these are all characters who are dealing with the aftermath of war and of serving for their country and maybe being a little dissolution by it and steve cross character to who young didn't have agreed experience in vietnam now he's dealing with this terrible loss um you know all these guys in some way seem to have lost faith in their country a little uh just by their experiences but really it's all to also about like me regret but they've faced in their time of war um and i just i really enjoyed the sauna i thought it was a good use of steve carell in ah you know sad steve crowe mode and there have been a couple of dramas where he's kind of done that hasn't worked out very well uh but i liked his character here he's a soft uh you know he's a quiet spoken guy who's dealing with this huge loss brand cranston sort of the the more puckish friend he he he's a bit of a scam uh kind of a casually racist camp to he's a guy he's the guy from old school america and lawrence lawrenceville brings guy who used to be kind of a asshole in congo playboy two current reverend two he's trying to walk kind of a cleaner path and they're both like these these little devils on sniff growth shoulder helping him get through this loss and uh yeah i i really enjoyed this film uh jeff i know you saw when did you think.
