Fourteen hundred to eight hundred but it does pass second time around. Margin also voters in Lansing Berg. They approved a revised school budget. This just has a property tax hike of about a half a percent, LT's grill in niskayuna. You've been there before a quite a long time ago, but I guess there's a show on the food network called restaurant impossible, where they go to troubled, quote, unquote restaurants. And this guy Robert Irvine makes over the restaurant in two days on a budget of ten grand, and hopefully gives it new life, and they have so-called troubled restaurants, applying for this, and I, sadly, I guess, LT's qualified as trouble the restaurant, July tenth and eleventh, they will be filming at the location. Listen I've been there a bunch of times trivia, it's right next to the high school in this Yuna, they should be doing a better business than the are there aren't a whole lot of restaurants with bars and things you can go to ski, you know, I mean other than Commons and nothing has revived there either they ruby Tuesdays that went out at tilted kilt that one out. There's like Pinera. Five guys that's about all it's lunch. There aren't a lot. So you would think that a place that serves you know, some burger beer or glass of wine or something would do very well centrally located, but it, it, it didn't they need some serious help. So, yeah, so sadly, they've said, well, these struggling enough to qualify to be on the show, and so they're going to they're asking for volunteers, but not like you were me to stay. They want electrocutions and legitimate contractors to volunteer their services, July, tenth and eleventh, so in and find that so outrageous. This was first reported by Steve Barnes who does the excellent table hopping blog on the times union in the time. And he was a little bit of shape. He's saying, hey, the food network makes one point two billion dollars year. Why should contractors hardworking types have to quote donate donate to this rich entity? And by the way, maybe some federal laws and you and I are thinking, well, first of all the food network has the legal east taken care of. And if you don't you don't have the volunteer to do the work they're saying if you want, hey, if you wanna volunteer volunteer, we'd love to have you, and I'm sure you'll get some kind of credit at the end, it's great advertising for people are gonna watch it. Locally. That's great. I'll give them some business. I see the show. I don't watch her anymore because every shows exactly the same, but bar rescue this is like this is like bar rescue, at a restaurant. I can see they just just sounds like a direct rip off this guy John tamper, so-called expert goes into trouble bars and comes in, you know, yells at people and then, like a two or three days, redesigns it and retrain staff, and all that changes the menus and and but in those things they do a lot of product placement as well as mentioned at the end. And so, I think the contractors if they volunteer they'll get paid back in some fashion. It's very similar to the hotel hell that Ramsey's to do something similar. It's really just an effort to kind of give them a new opportunity to fresh things up a little bit, maybe drawing some more clients, and maybe they'll get a boost and business can't hurt, especially, you know, a local place like that. Just quick mentioned. There's been a lot of comings and goings it seems anyway at cross gates. And now there's another coming cross gates mall. They're going to this was announced a while back, but it is finally ready to open. I guess there's a Connecticut based chain. This is against Barnes times, union Maggie, MC flies. Local craft eatery in bars up next Wednesday, bewilderingly large menu one hundred eighty items and they also have like seventy five beers on Tampa as you've mentioned there. They do use a lot of local product. There are chain. They, they know what works for them. And they can still be the can still Bill themselves. They local craft eatery embar by using local products. I think it's a great opportunity for local producers and for the time being we can still use plastic straws in the city of. They've table, a measure, that would get rid of the plastics. Paper straws are nasty. They really disgusting. I understand the whole point of using a paper product rather than a plastic product breaks down easier and faster in the environment. But what do you put a paper products in water or moisture is going to break down almost immediately trying to drink a straw, something of a product that paper star is one of a paper spoon for your spoon for your soup? And let me know how that works out fast, right? Shucking Kelly forty-one glucose, Lucille believes.

Hold your as one of those things were like, I'm powerless against toes-to-toes ice cream. I have in my fridge every freezer every day because my kids eat it every day, and I'm just not drawn to it. But you say the words soft saucer officer must have now been dying for that. For the last week. We talked about Thursday or Friday. When Hayley was Maples age. All she liked was the cone. They would take her out Friday screaming just give her the cone weird bucks because she wasn't eating ice cream. Though is the bottom line. It's the ice cream in the call and the Cohen's just a little soft. The last fights we used to bring our golden retriever to to one of the word of the Hoffman's was officer. Yeah. So speaking of food apparent bistro in downtown Schenectady, abruptly closed Saturday night. That's a shame. I liked it there. We'd been there. A couple of times it's one of those places where the very first time. I went I was very hesitant to bring the kids and like a little too fancy for them. But they both found something they liked rare place. We can all be happy. Yeah. So we've been there a couple of times and really just on special occasions and stuff, but it's kind of sad to see them. It's great like before a Proctor show. It's like small plates, Thomas, whatever. But the long story short. This was I guess Angelo Mazzoni first restaurant back in two thousand seven and he's now Zeman spinning off. I think he's been involved in other things I think it might have been as for I think six seventy seven prime was around before that wasn't. Yeah. Sent an angry letter to the times union because they said it was his first restaurant. Ngoma zones original restaurant, according to Steve Barnes. Okay. But anyway, so it was they were in negotiations on a new lease. And I guess it looked as if they were making progress was a minor issues. But at the last I guess at the last second another entity jumped in and signed a ten year lease, and so now they've got like, they're, you know, you gotta get out. Yeah. It's too bad. For lack of business. Clearly, so I wonder if they were given the right of first refusal or anything else, Matt Massoni first restaurant Angela's, son. Okay. So you're sorta right? Well, it says right here. I'm just Barnes at Schenectady sight of what was founder Angelo Mazzoni original restaurant. So regardless we always get involved in the minute were former news people, but it's a shame. I think that was a really successful is a fun place, and we'll see, but I guess I mean, it's going to be another another there's gonna be another restaurant there. And they may make an announcement as soon as today. So we'll see you ever. Do you? Don't ride the train how much you from Rensselaer Penn. If that not very often at all well for those who do and it really is. It's like, you know, whenever I think of transportation, I think of taking south west to Orlando for DisneyWorld, and I think of people driving to the Cape for vacation and people taking the train from Rensselaer Penn station, they they stopped with the the Food cO car on Amtrak in two thousand five is a cost cutting measure, but there's now talk that maybe they're going to at least put coffee and snacks back on the empire service trained from. It's like two hours and forty minutes. And especially if you're, you know, you're late for work or you wanna just grab a coffee and something on the train a good idea. I didn't realize they knew they long ago had done away with the food service car that I thought they still have that you know, you can go grab a bag of chips in the sodas last time. I was there. I don't think you could even do that know correct me if I'm wrong, send me I've been wrong before I'll be wrong again in the future. I I don't think we had that option last couple times. We went down the Matt tournament is no more or will be after tonight's championship game for the next three years. Anyway. Atlantic city. And you know, listen, I understand the need to move it around. It used to move around a different host sites within the MAC, but it was always on someone's home court. So people are tired of playing at CNS homecourt Email changed the logos of the MAC logo rather than Santa logo. It's still CNS court. Sure. And I guess there's kind of a racket sanitary again. So they they opened up for bids every few years than they a couple of years ago. The Atlantic City won the bid, so they'll be taking over next year for the next three. The only problem with you know, I can see why the other teams don't wanna plant CNS court. And but the problem was or not the problem that the the facts were like when Sienna was good that was where they got the most attendance. Yeah, it was here in Albany. But so they're they're going to Atlantic City as you said for three years to you senators are going to rebid when the time comes in a couple of years, but it was interesting. They lost one hundred grand the times union center last year because CNN wasn't good. Yeah. There's also a storm and so. Beyond their control. So people weren't going to drive to Albany and storm. So I understand that. But they the local businesses do. Well, even when CNN doesn't do well because you still have all those families and fans coming in from out of town and staying there and eating there. So there might be a little bit of hit from the fans, you aren't going out around the games. But generally, they do well regardless and they don't have to put up that three hundred thousand dollars. That's right. Yes. They do their net. Income is a lot. Yeah. So three hundred grand and then the associated expenses like seven hundred grand just to just to do business there for the five days. So and I saw somebody put it of delicately. But they said, you know, what it Alantic city, maybe the intelligence will be good or better because they said in Albany. I'm not slamming Albany. But in Albany, the tournament is what there is to do and presumably in Atlantic City. They say there's there's more to do. So we'll see what happens there. Oh, one other thing on the tournament the the head coach of Monmouth who's playing in the championship game tonight. Was really been out of shape at the post game news conference this weekend. He was mad because they wouldn't allow his seven year old to come to the post game news conference. This is so sad. I mean, this is a guy who had a really great win wanted to share it with a seven year old went to bring him into the post game press conference and the MAC officials like no he's not credentialed to come in. And the coach was like, are you kidding kidding me? Can't be with his dad you need to calm down. Everybody..

"An event crazy event down there. But there was nothing. There is no media. There was no protesters. I thought even on the streets there might be protesters. But now, it's pretty easy going Kelly. And I we were talking about earlier and across gate, they're they're not very cooperative with the media. So you can see why TV cameras weren't there. But I still I still would assume there'd be a handful of protesters there. You know, they're upset about the metoo stuff. He did some stuff in front of other female comedians at the apologized for but then obviously must have come up during the show. Right. It was one of the first things that he addressed. It was it was very brief. But you know, we kind of like me he was like, well, you know, the worst possible things about me and everything like that. And then he also addressed the his most recent controversy, which was his joke about the parklands shooting and whatnot to, but he didn't he didn't really dwell on it or anything kind of like move past it and just gave us a bunch of new material. And it was what you would expect that of Louis CK. So if you trust the elephant in the room right off the bat. I mean, that's the whole reason why he's in Albany is because he's trying to resurrect his career. Test out some new material and was he working from notes he was working cell. He's he's working to make a comeback trying to see what jokes work, and what jokes don't work, and I was reading Steve Barnes a review in the paper this morning, and he had a really good point where jokes that would be funny. Pre Louis CK controversy are not really as funny host Louis CK controversial at the park with thing had he not had that big scandal me to move people might have laughed him. Like, oh my God. That's hardly appropriate. I'm gonna laugh anyway. But after all that in context, it's like one more controversial thing. Did he do anything? Controversial like that. Yeah. Yes. He did. I would say definitely said some offensive things, but it was stuff that you would you would think that he was going to say, it's like what you just said it, it's kind of like you. Here's some groans from the crowd and whatnot. But I feel like I would have grown Louis C K years ago. I saw five years ago. I mean, it was the show is filthy a lot of it was anyway, if you're gonna. To be offended by stuff. Don't go. See Louis CK show, right? The the night was dick Williams, and he's a local guy from here. And he just said if you are offended by something that we say it doesn't mean that we're offensive. It means that you got offended. So we all need to take ownership of our feelings tonight. Walk out. No, I didn't see anybody walk out. The the crowd was super responsive. You're going to buy tickets to see Louis C K. You know, what you're getting in? You're going to see him. I think we're there were some issues early on is when people bought tickets to see another show, and he like opened their he showed up there unannounced because you don't want to call attention to yourself. You don't want to say I'm gonna have a show here in the middle of this controversy where people will show up in protest and Hackel. You and all that stuff. So they're like we didn't pay to see him. You know, we don't like him right now. And so it wasn't okay. But these are all people who actually paid to see him. Yeah. So yeah. So, and that's one of the reasons I do to pop shows to keep that kind of stuff down. And you would assume that it's people who are Dave. Oh, tastes would be the first ones to run their and get this for they go. So did you feel like you had you seen him live before? I had never seen them live. I've seen a number of his specials on TV. But I had never seen him live in person. Specials. You know, th the did you notice anything different? Did he seem cautious or beaten down in any way? By what's happened? When he first came out on stage. I could tell you it was a little bit like he was being a little bit cautious. But he he opened it up as soon as the crowd was kind of warm an kind of inviting, and it was just kinda like bring it on. You know what I mean? So it was great. It was really good. They locked their phones in these yonder cases. Right. Yeah. So there was no. I didn't even know what time it was. I had no idea. We're sitting there, and they taking up the watch issue. Yes. Yes. Yes. We saw somebody that was like, well, it won't work. If my phone's not on and they were like doesn't matter gotta take it just in case. So there was no. There was no opportunity for any kind of leaking. Babysitter emergency. My wife, and I were like we're like, well, I guess we're gonna roll with the dice. But yeah, anything's fine. Kid is fine. How long how long did he do? I think he did about like forty forty five minutes or so. The time. You had no idea, right? It was really interesting. You have your phone, which is a thing that doesn't happen lot these days. So I know you're not necessarily an expert. But do you think you'll be able to resurrect his career and get back to the the lofty heights because he was probably the top comedian in the country for a few years. Absolutely the material that he did was on point with the material that you're totally used to him hearing. So if he continues down in the place was was loving it. Like, it was like, no, nobody was not laughing. So I if he's telling those I think he's well on his way to back. I think we'll definitely be able to revive the standard. Now. Like some of the other projects he's directed stuff. Start and stuff it maybe tougher if you're working with the studio because they don't want to be associated with your whatever. But this is interesting because we've never seen somebody come back from something like this because it's so fresh and new and everything and he's trying and people seem to be wanting to well, I also think with him. It was an interesting issue that happening without getting into details about it. I mean, he had Sarah Silverman. Who was like? Yes. It was. Okay. So there wasn't. Well, if you have a response like that. I mean, it kind of muddies the waters a little bit would be. I mean, totally inappropriate. And people thought, you know, some of these female comedians thought he was abusing his power over them because he was very powerful in their world. But I mean, he wasn't charged with a crime or anything it wasn't like rape or don't get me wrong appropriate. But it wasn't like Harvey Weinstein that so I thought one of the funniest things he said was he was like if you ever want people to forget about that. Just go ahead and make a joke about a school shooting. Yeah. Part of his he's blatant. He's he's just so honest. That's what made him so popular. I believe that's the Genesis of his comedy. But his point in Portland was he was kind of more ripping media saying that after the shooting they rolled out all these kids who survived the shooting and then pass them off as experts on gun control. When he said simply they were witnesses to a tragedy, but to roll them out as experts on gun control. That's what he was. But you know, you can't you really when kids your target or certainly a school shooting. You know, you're going to get you gotta get some heat. So right BJ the web guy. Hey, thanks so much. "Are usually the most enjoyable weekend football of the year. This namely, not the conference champions. Yes. Do you think there's I I have a feeling there might be some foles magic. Again. I I always hope I always prepare for the worst on Monday morning. China's state of depression. I'm fully prepared for a loss. Your enemy. I'll be happy. If they got to where they did because they had a mediocre season. Oh my God with three weeks left in the season. Didn't look like they're even gonna make the plate. Right. So that's a very rational very rational perspective for the patriots. Chargers. I have no idea. I I wouldn't be surprised if the if the chargers win big patriots win big or if either one wins in a close game. I had no idea. Well, that's the beauty of the playoffs. You get to this point. And it's anyone's game. Well, you've been saying for some time, and I've had to agree with you that the patriots window maybe closing a little bit. So if I think if the chargers win that's a definite indication that some big changes may be on the way for the patriots. Like what? I know I think Brady's gonna still be the quarterback. They had a bunch. I think they're going to try to get younger. I mean a lot. I think it's can retire elements getting older. So they need some younger receivers retire after this year. I do I do. I just think he's he's he's not as dumb as he appears he saved his money, and he's just taken he's had over seven or eight surgeries. They're supposedly his family's worried about all the contact. You know, head injuries, really. How could you prove he suffers from? So, hey, he's got he's got a great career ahead of him in the broadcast. You'll make a ton of money. Really does. They're saying. He's found his niche audience. And they also seriously they think he could be a huge star in wrestling. Oh by. You can see that. Right. So so. The patriots. If even the people hate the patriots, they kind of like rock. Global moron. So yes. So it'll be it'll be believe changes for sure they had a bunch of to deepen the patriots talk like four the drafted this year were injured. So they'll have a lot of young guys coming back, and they have a billion draft picks this year. So we'll see. I was a little bit surprised. I wouldn't say shot. There was really no very little coverage. Not coverage at all Louis C K coming to town. I thought they'd be all over that talking to people outside the outside funny bones. That's a really hard one to cover. I don't know. Maybe cross gates didn't grant them permission to go into the Bill Gates is the most difficult Malta. You have to get corporate knowing there's controversy. They may have said. Yeah, we're not letting it immediately. And then what do you flagged on people walk into the mall or go to the court? So and if you have one nightside reporter, I mean, are you going to send their hope they get a soundbite with someone who might be going to the show time? That's actually a perfect answer to that. Yeah. So I don't know if that's the answer or not. But it's very distinct possibility. Well, surprise, I thought maybe even like the five and six o'clock newscast. They would've said, hey, he's coming to town. They didn't mention even like an Avia anybody mentioning watch the two to three and a half four hour news block they have. So I don't really know if they also sold out in like a half round. There's not really a benefit. Well, I guess just that he's figuring. Oh, no kidding. But it sold out so fast. I mean, I just figured that. You know, and and just and and I think people I was wondering where it's going to be protests people out there might have been protests. We saw an Email from an Albany county legislator. Trying to kind just plant the seed it almost seems like it's people. I wasn't really sure she was going with that. But I didn't see any protests. Steve Barnes dinner review in the times union this morning. He just talked about the act itself. Didn't mention any. He had a good point though, he says that the some of the controversial jokes that he's on these pop up shows before trying to kind of test the waters to see if you can make a comeback is back in right? So, but he's been criticized over the last few months for jokes. He's made he's kind of trying them out on different audiences. That's why I guess last night. He was saying it's not was going from. So he's trying some new stuff out to see what works. What doesn't? And he made a joke about parkland in the students there, and you know, you almost can't joke about certain things. But Steve Barnes brought up a good point where the pre controversy. Louis C K probably could have pulled that off. Yep. But now because he's already under the microscope for everything he does. And that he everything that will be framed around that me too, bad behavior type stuff. He can't really do it now where he may have been able to pull it off before I think you're right there. But now he's on the radar and every little thing is scrutinized. I mean, his part than comment was it's like you can't joke about nine eleven. Certain park you'll school shooting certainly, but I think his serious point was. Just just because you were your you had a shooting at your school doesn't make you an expert gun control. Right. Which I understand what he was saying it gives you gives you a certainly a different personal perspective on school shootings. But it doesn't make you an expert on gun control. Like, they trotted out some of these kids as experts, I think that was his parents right now. You're right. So, but so actually an eight fifteen. The parents I would have felt a little bit more acceptable about that stuff. You know? Okay. Go after the parents, just because your kid was at a school doesn't make you an expert on gun control, rather than, you know, going after a teenager who, you know, any frame it in that context. Probably just experience the worst thing anyone can experience at fifteen years old. Anytime you go after a kid you're going to get flat anyway, and then a kid was gone through such a Trump traumatic incident. Yeah. So. So at eight fifteen or no eight thousand five our director VJ will be he was actually at the show. So we'll we'll get a sense from him as to how he was received in in all those peripheral issues Kelly. I'm not naive, and I know that Mia whining about it's not going to change anything, but I do feel compelled, and I think you do to to at least when we see hypocrisy in politics, at least pointed out, even though it may not change the weasels, and we just like to say that right before the election. This November last November. There was a thirty minute debate. Involving Senator Kirsten gillibrand during that debate. He was pushed hard by the moderator, Bill Ritter. Will you serve out your six year? Senator I will I will serve my six year term. Jill ran replied. Honestly, I don't believe it Ritter said and comes word that Jill LeBron may not only be running for president twenty twenty months. She's already eyeing a campaign based in Troy. So, you know, draw whatever conclusion you will now have on that Cuomo said he'll be he'll be completing his term. But where is her office? Now, her her her her district office. I'm not sure I'm sure we could find it online. I mean, you see we're. Moving her district office. Well, let's I mean campaign headquarters and district office. Campaign headquarters. Yeah. This'll be the campaign base. Yeah. It'd be your campaign headquarters as opposed to her district office. So those are obviously suffered so you'd you'd have to run for office. Again, if you're gonna stay in congress. Yeah. So well, she's good now for six years. Right. Right. So why waste the money for the next six years. You're saying rent. No. No, no. I'm not sure what you're saying. It could be here campaign headquarters because you have to run for reelection. If you're running for congress, even if it is six years down the road, you do need at campaign headquarters. Disobeys according to the sources took the Associated Press. Would you be the base for a president a nationwide presidential campaign? So that that's what they're saying. She would set up and Troy for again speculation. So we'll see I wouldn't be surprised though. I wouldn't be surprised at all. Where you know. We have a pot opening today we shop in nearby western Massachusetts. You seem to be kind of lukewarm on shameless. I'll be honest with you. I'm not a fan of legalizing recreational marijuana. I'm not because people driving high or just some other of reasons I fully support medical marijuana. Absolutely. But not recreational. I listen, I know too many people in my life who've just Pete away their life because they sat on the couch getting high in wasted time in college. Breeds. Laziness it really does. I totally agree with that. And so I think it's just anytime you make something like that legal. I and you can make the same argument for for alcohol. Yeah. But why legalize something that can? And it's not necessarily gateway drug, but I just I don't see the upside to legalizing recreational marijuana other than it unclogged the court system for low level offenders. I can't wait and dealing in. There is I mean, there's a year it's big revenue to so I I'm a little bit torn I guess if a gun to my head, I'm in favor of it. But I I it's not as innocuous or harmless has a lot of people make it seem, but they're gonna open up this shop in great Barrington starting today. I thought it was interesting the the guy who's running. This theory wellness dispensary. Let's listen to how many people he's now we've gone from a staff of about five to close to thirty. And they're going to have like three cops outside there. You know, there's going to be a huge mob scene. We'll tell you this though, I. There's someone in my life. And I say is who said to me over Christmas break, I'm thinking of making an investment in the marijuana industry. This is someone who never even smoked a cigarette. And I was like she was like let me know if you wanna go into thinking that you really smart investment. I'm like, you're not wrong. The source. I was very surprised John bainer. Now's the face of all the people think. So. Yeah. So that's opening up to the in Rachel pointed something to me, and maybe this is a little bit ancillary point to you're talking about in Denver. They're they're thinking of putting up for an actual vote whether to legalize magic mushrooms, that's even more insane. Are you kidding me? Well, if you make the argument that it's unnatural drug like marijuana. I understand it. It's not a chemical. I don't want people who loosening all over the place. But. Have you ever? Yeah. No..
