If you ever see the Calgary up as a big Sur curve ramp, you're going up the airport to next level. And, we almost went over us. The corner so fast with Andre. We were on two wheels, and I remember with car actually started hydroplaning. Go up in the air, and then we crashed kind came down. We screeched to a halt in front of the American departure whatever. "Joe Watson come out of the production truck, and they're holding Bill. Watts up like a wounded soldier and the blood is pouring down his face that was as heated and as motion and as money drawing an angle as I ever saw in the nineteen eighty s and we're talking the whole comedian era that was any Gilbert, and that was Eddie at his absolute best. My only knock on Eddie. And it's not a knock, we're all influenced. Somehow, I've always thought that a lot of people are only very creative people. Are only limited by the boundaries of their own imagination. And I think Eddie overcompensating for a great deal of insecurity is using an insecure person. I think any allied on the boundaries of his own imagination that was self imposed by looking for these Jerry Lawler, and Jackie Fargo and Bilden D And Jerry Jared angles instead of a lowering. His own creativity to take over and do things that never been done before never thought of before that would have made it to this day described as an Eddie Gilbert angle. Because really what is it any Gilbert angle? There's no brand of what Eddie brought to the table. And that's a shame because I learned so much from him. And he offered so much to the business. He just never offered his own branding of it. But it's interesting you spent time in WWF, and like you said grand wizard, captain Labato, Freddie, blassie where some of your mentors I took on your under their wing summer's near like, but so there you were you were in New York, and then you snuck into a production made in down there, an NWEA dusty book, and you know, you're in the back of the room and hit as a kid. You know, what are you doing here? You can't be here. All right. You know, there's a store on DVD. I don't wanna get the whole story up. So you can go buy the DVD is it's also a what was the difference in booking philosophies back in that time from New York versus and wwl New Yorker, the baby-faced territory explained that has I've always known that you've always known that was the difference between a baby face territory, and what the NWEA was doing the W W W F WWF WWE is built on the premise that the hero is the end all the all that the center of the universe is the top star. And the top star is my guy. That the premise of the company the theory of the company the marketing the promotion of the company is all based around the hero. He's the star and everything else that goes around WWE is an offshoot of that product. The brand is branded on the top star. The NWEA was a he'll based territory the story wasn't the revenge of the baby face as fada complete. Here's just to add to that. When someone would jump Bruin spirits air. He's been bowling team has been bold. He's been he's been clapping. I mean. Yeah. But I mean, he's been bowling like he you can't give him the blame when they don't win and not giving the credit when they do. That's not fair. You're right. That's fair. That's fair. All right. Next up. The Philadelphia Eagles are a better team with Nick foles quarterback. What was the two over action? And what was the other an appropriate? React trope writ reaction right now. They are. Without a shadow of doubt. They are. He he's running this offense, much better. I don't know if it's because winces hurt he's not really healthy. But his offense just moves would foes. Why is that? What did you see last night that was different than how they've looked? Which is why do they look different have a bitter awareness for the offense in running offense in? It could be opponents as well that you're playing against it hasn't ability. But they just look so much better with foale's right now. That's the worst thing. You can have also seem to fix fulls took more chances downfield than Wentz has been doing this year. They blew some coverages to the Rams pretty much helped out tremendously. Next up the Rams and the chiefs both losses week those two teams peaked too soon. Overreaction. Overreaction. Chiefs are really good steal. The Rams are good. I don't know about really now. But around good. Move on. This is the end of the patriots dynasty. Overreaction. They're not the team. They once were. But this still good. They're playing bad and they're nine and five. I'm looking at a multitude of teens would love to be ninety five love it. And they're not playing well, they will peak when it's time to do you think they still get a first round by the playoffs. I don't care about a first round. But I think they want to get to the play of playoffs with a rhythm in healthy. Why where's the rhythm gone? Injuries injuries to grop. I don't think rock is truly healthy one hundred percent. I don't think element is all the way back right now. You you missing are phenomenal running back. The line is always had woes Brady stone off his back foot bracing himself for the hit defensively. I I don't know what you're doing right now. I really don't. Browns are on fire. Tionne Baker Mayfield. We'll have the best career of all the quarterbacks drafted last year. Overreaction. How can you say to Browns are on fire and not to ravens? How can you talk about one quarterback another utter? Both. I'm responsible for those teams success. Let's hit that real quick thirty seconds. Lamar Jackson running so much not sustainable for ravens playoff success. Big. He's doing a little bit of both. Which is heard from coach Lynn says watching this. "Tell me how does that work. How does who'll you'll have to fight in threaten to hold out to get his money, but met run is making double. Double. Because he's a quarterback has the change. Do you remember several years ago Julio? The Mary Thomas who does Brian is Bryant AJ green only guys is up. And I believe Tony around. All of a sudden these guys got around the same amount of money. You don't think those owners smoke? You don't think they talked about what we're gonna do? But you allow these quarterbacks. Has Stafford everyone. Is not one playoff appearance. Kirk cousins has ever won ever been dominant. I continue I gotta. Do you see the pitcher and pain? Matt Ryan was at least MVP and had them nearly winning the Super Bowl. Get cameras to. Yeah. Same thing. What what why do we do that? Shouldn't a best player makes the most money like all other sports. So now, I just want to tell my kid go play quarterback because this thing. Forget the other position we go play quarterback. If you have decent like this guy, named Bortles you could make a kill it. Forget what everybody else's making on the team you can make a killing in this this whole locker room, disrupt the whole fabric in the thread that brings a team together, you could disrupt that and tear up the whole team because of what you pay one man that he had earned. That's what has taken place in Jacksonville. Ladies and gentlemen. We got to change this and only ones could change. It is the owners stand up stand out in make a change this nonsense right now every rule you're creating is for the quarterback. All the proceeds are to the quarterback everything you do is for the quarterback in a quarterback is not the quarterback that you think he is. Ariza case. Does it have to do is any part of it? The fact that quarterback is normally considered the face of the franchise some of them some of them have seized on their chest. And I don't know if the C means coward or captain. Yeah. I'll let you ponder that line should be lighting up like Christmas trees right now. I need to hear from you guys. Some bit number truth and facts. What does that play the game? And I played it. "God. It's. There's a circle there's a complete circle of a little bit bigger than a quarter smell than a fifty percent. Fifty cent piece on my four, and I'm like, dude, I'm not trying to be a professional model or anything. But you know, maybe I'm just need to start getting a hand commercial gigs doing some ivory, soap or something. Then you're killing me. How are we going to close this bitch up? He tells me he goes, we'll customer leap things right there in the corner as I've cut you here. So what you're seeing is still got the stereotype scripts on got my stitches taken out, I'm going to be as good looking as I was before I had the surgery, and I got to move to more literacy measures, you know, plays in in kind of in business, but especially out here in this town things starts slowing down. It gets really dead towards the back in November going into to December. So I figured hey, man. I'll take it a little downtime. Get all my shit taken care of because I'm planning for LA since two thousand nineteen and our. I'm going to turn around and sue the company that gig you at the damn headphones. Are you everybody's hey, you go to McDonald's mccafe coffee, and they spill it on you and everybody wants money because they got burnt. Stupidity. I think I was actually watching my ipad hyperbaric chamber about a month ago. And I hit thing what I was trying to change. It yo go to a different Netflix thing in a drop it. So I can't get away from the other more outside of the business that I did it, but young skin cancer things very very very serious thing. I thought about nine of those things taking off screen from all those years of being a lifeguard surfing all those years like my skin is fried van. So I got that's the one thing I really got to stay up. And there's a guy named Danny federici cheat. And he used to play keyboards for Bruce Springsteen and one of my very good friends. Tony pallet gross. He had gone to see Danny. He he was dying of skin cancer. And you know, frigging day. He was like, dude, they nothing come fast 'cause you get skin cancer, man. It's fast. And he said man used us use that block out shit. You know, here's the thing and mine was basal cell and another one, but it wasn't. It wasn't the heavy duty stuff. So I was never guard point is like, I I kind of did a opinion saying, I'm Bob. Gas where we're going family friendly. But I'm on the podcast me, and me, and my buddy Ted thought it was laughing about it. But man, if you see anything about redness around patch anything abnormal or if your wife or your husband sees, it Mangum go go get that shit checked up because it could lead something serious. So anyway, finally got two more to take care of. And then I'm done, but it goes back page all those years and always tell everybody hill I'm damn near now buying. I mean myself, I'm white. Here's a funny story, you know, back back when big show finally came up to the WWF, you know, only had like one or two pairs of trunks to begin with. I didn't like anybody stretching them or messing with them or nothing but also in protection mode of being white hottest don't go Steve Allston, dude. We used to lay in those Annan beds. You know, that was a gimmick you fly into town. You get you rent a car you load. You boys up you go hit a waffle house. Or then you go tan go swell on any go the building one time. It was aware wrestling overseas big show, we'd been brawling outside and he throws me back in and as he's throwing me back in, you know, he just grabs you by my trunks, and they go halfway up. "To shift gears to talk about your wrestling school that you're about to open because one time we running down the road. I'd ask you a million questions at twin developed our relationship, and our friendship is not a lot of respect for your you. You always very fair to me and gave me a lot of information in your time. And they're forgetting is one of my trademark stores which Donovan dams, but we'd driving down the road. And I think he might have been driving this time. I might be around and shotgun primetime was in the backseat. And you look me. Maybe I was grabbing you said Steve was so studying the bus stunning stave. Yes. Right. Ronda was proud about Bradley. And that was the first time, you know, I was just trying to be a pro wrestler. I wouldn't think about a character. I wouldn't think about it being. I wouldn't thinking about my relationship with the crowd. What the crowd thought of me who was that? They could think of me or form an opinion of me. Oh, just trying to be a wrestler. I was caught up into mechanics to one on one stuff and then get into this. Psychology, a couple of different layers of that. But I wasn't a character. When you asked me that question something that was a story that I'd never forgot. And I didn't have an answer for you. Because when when Dutch mental made up stunning Steve Austin he'd given me Steve Allston, which I rejected because I didn't want to copy the demand on a man six million dollar man, but going out on didn't name. So that's what it come up with. So Steve Allison meduse. Do I go know go through my career? And I'm just I'm not thinking anything about bad character, and your first person that made me think about that your desire to start up this wrestling school, you remember that conversation. I I actually do. Yeah. Because when asked Brian he's like prime-time Dion Sanders. My sound I'm getting a recipes. Because I don't see that in in what you're saying. And I do remember that just thinking because that was it a stage in my career where I think if that was ninety one I think it was ninety early nineties out hit thirty and I've been wrestling from about ten eleven years. And I think to that time Jerry Jared opened a wrestling school around Nashville, and I had gone down and just helped out just just trying to teach in and you really don't know if you can teach until you do it, you don't know if you're a coach until you do it. You know, I have my way you have your way, but the right way and the on the way does not exist. There's one way to do it. There's another way to good. It's like ice cream different flavors. You like rocky road, Alex, strawberries, it's all good is just what works the thing with that is all of a sudden, you know, I I know what I should have done early in my career. But I didn't do what I needed to do. And one of the things I say is you do whatever it takes. I did whatever it took to get the business. But. Then once I had these opportunities in front of me, I I was in a bad place. What I was asking you guys is because now I've seen it through the years. And I heard it and watch guys changed gimmicks different times. Taurus, bull was one of the guys one Renault's changes give a couple of times just just out of the blue coat now. I started thinking stunning Steve does it resonate. No. But you've got to find out who you are the ringmaster. No, it's not it. So all of a sudden you find out in a guys us all the time now to watch movies. Listen to music read, the paper, just read books read, something you might find one thing out of twenty movies or thirty books or million song. But you hear that one thing that resonates, and that's pretty much with you. Right. I mean, you guys are sitting there watching TV and. Yep. In all of a sudden, you know falls into place. Well, then you find out who you really are. Because that's who you really are. You're a redneck from Texas who likes to? A drink beer, and you're not you're not a bad guy. It'd be fun to wrestling gas, talk about UFC MMA so that you have to Twenty-eight pay per view just happened and and are talking about a couple of the fights were talking about some of the similarities between MMA and professional wrestling who's tougher the sacrifices promos fighting strategies. We're talking about everything. Man, we're talking about promos. All the similarities between pro wrestling and Emma may. So as a technical breakdown, like a UFC or Emma specialist would break down a fight, no man is to pro wrestler sitting there shooting the breeze about sport that they're both very passionate about. So I really enjoyed my conversation with Booker t I'm gonna head down to Houston, hopefully in the next upcoming few months. Months, and we're going to have a podcast about his life and his career. I'm looking forward to having a conversation with him today. Bear with us. We had a few sound of cultures early on in a podcast, a little bit of static and the net clears up. So just weather the storm with his just for a second book. Cotinine I get on the same page and shoot the breeze about all aspects of fighting pro wrestling, the pay per view itself and just shooting the breeze from two long time. Veterans who vote broken a business about the same time eighty nine nineteen ninety and mo- travelled many of the same roads together and ended up having a really low. Very good careers. Both ended up in a hall of fame and is gathered, always love working with. And we have so many laughs and good times together, but I'll be enjoyed this conversation is one of my favorite podcasts I've done in a long time. I'm going to keep this open short because this is a long conversation. We're dropping knowledge on some things pro wrestling. We're talking about some things in the UFC. They'd probably I'm not technical enough to talk about, but nonetheless, this is my conversation with Booker t. talking about everything under the sun wrestling. You have c. to twenty eight and all the other shit we talk about. But before we get to my conversation with Booker t. listen up sports bitten scene is currently hotter than it's ever been..

"This is the Steve Austin show a hell. Yeah, yeah. Now, here's Steve Austin, alright, but organ, Steve Allston show. I'm coming from the silver state, Nevada. Here's the robots. Go ranch to porno been out here for about a week. Got about another week left, and I'm enjoying my time out here as you guys know. Got my antelope on out of the way at an absolute blast doing that. And you know what? One of the things I forgot to talk about when I was talking with my brother-in-law match about that hunt was the fact that this was the first time I'd ever hundred antelope you knew that. But this is also the first time that really hundred off the back of a full Wheeler and may not tell you what that was probably the most fun that I've had in a long time just because most times south Texas were Radnor side by side to a deer stand, get out, walk up to the deer stand, sit there with your gun. But not this time man. Before we started off on inforwars. We're out of a sad by side trying to get a spot and stalk, but I'll tell you what man we got ATV's and that was some fun as riding to some real technical terrain. I'm telling you some big ass. Crazy boulders, inclines to sense. It was technical. It was some tough riding. It was a kind of writing. I would definitely not take a rookie out there to ride a four Wheeler on for the first time. So it was tricky, had my gun all lashed down into a soft protective case and tell you what we we had about. We'd put about fifteen miles in that day almost twenty and we had about another fifteen or twenty to go actually get to our destination and all of a sudden we happen along to that antelope that we saw. I ended up taking him and then we cleaned him up. Got all the meat prepared and headed back in the camp, but I was really looking forward to put an in those. No, the fifth. Eighteen and twenty miles just because this terrain out here, so fun to ride. It's unbelievable yesterday I took my my Buell out with Kelly and moolah an Esa easiest thing for them to ride on because it's bench seats and seat so wide. They have plenty of room at our comfortable. I took my side by side out the other day and just took it for a ride. And right now as we speak, I had a project yesterday. I bought a skeet throw couple of weeks ago when my nephew Neil came down to visit us, and I figured me new, go out there and set the saying up and shoots him. Skeet problem was we took it out of that damn box. It was called Whealy bird two point. Oh, if interview familiar with this particular unit. So anyway, it's got a handle on it to drag it around. It's got a set of wheels and big set of instructions how to put the same together. And normally I am not the best guy at putting anything together. As a matter of fact, I flat out suck. And this one of things like guys do guys by something they start trying to put shit together. They never ever want to read the instructions. Well, this is one of those deals while said, you know what? I'm not even gonna guess how to put this together. I need to read the instructions and then I need to follow the instructions. And so lo and behold using tobacco Macau sake, Mulas my workbench, put that thing together, probably about an hour hour and a half, tested it out, bought a twelve battery after tested it out with a cord, then I'll put the remote control feature on there. So right now I have fixed into as finishes podcast. I fixed the put my ski thrower in back of Macau. Jockey MU, come up a gun up there a gun Rak. I'm gonna drive down to the BLM and I think I got shoot. I bought two hundred seventy skeet the other day I got. I don't know how many shotgun shells and I go out there and spend about three hours just shooting. Skeet all by myself with my little remote control skeet thrower and I'm looking forward to it..
