China says ready to 'smash' Taiwan self-rule as US prepares major arms package, sends advisers
"China sent a stern warning on Taiwan as the U.S. prepares a major arms package. A recent increase in exchanges between the U.S. and Taiwanese militaries is an extremely wrong and dangerous move. China's defense ministry spokesperson tan cafe says in a statement and video posted online in a reference to Taiwan's closest ally, the U.S., ten continues, the People's Liberation Army continues to strengthen the military training and preparations and will resolutely smash any form of Taiwanese independence secession along with attempts at outside interference. Condolences to Dr. Charles Stanley, Passing Away at Age 90
"Just before we came on the air, some very sad news from the world of Christianity, a good friend of this program has passed away. Doctor Charles Stanley, from the first baptist church in Atlanta, he had recently retired, but he also led in touch ministries and many of you I suspect have read a Charles Stanley book or devotional. You've seen his sermons and you, your life, has really been made better because of his teaching ministry. He was one of the good guys. He was also part of the great conservative resurgence of the Southern Baptist convention, and he actually led the Southern Baptist convention for a couple of years during that great turmoil in the late 1970s and early 80s. And doctor Stanley went home to be with the lord, he passed away in his sleep. He was 90 years old, and if you go to our website, Todd Stearns dot com, we have a pretty extensive obituary. What an incredible life he lived. He was also an accomplished photographer just unbelievable photography and he published a couple of books very well traveled and just a good and decent and godly man and he went home to be with the lord and I know you'll want to pray for the Stanley family as they go through the grieving process. But anyway, and that information again on Todd stern's dot com.

Jason Whitlock: Nike Cares More About Business in China Than U.S.
"Nike's interest is more about China and the 1.45 billion people in China How do they reach those consumers How do they satisfy the CCP and do more business in China rather than concerning themselves about the 300 million Americans over here this is the problem with globalism in this hostility toward an America first agenda Our corporations don't care about Americans And so they're not making business decisions that think about the American consumer and the American citizen first they're thinking about what enhances what improves my position in China And so Nike is other than ESPN or in conjunction with ESPN the two most powerful forces in sports culture in America and Nike wants to do business in China The NBA David stern the previous commissioner had an entire vision about making the NBA and international game landing a mammoth contract with China to broadcast games in China that would dwarf any contract they would get here in America That's been division that's been the goal as the NFL has tried to expand its international footprint They have less and less concern with the American consumer and America and whether people like Donald Trump or not Here's America first agenda made sense for the overwhelming 99 98% of Americans who aren't global citizens The America first agenda makes perfect sense

Rupert Murdoch Admits Fox News Hosts Endorsed Election Lies
"Promised. I want to get to this Fox News report president Trump is raging mad earlier today, the president put out a statement. Rupert Murdoch, by the way, is now admitting under oath in this dominion lawsuit that Fox News channel host promoted election lies. This is not Todd stern saying this, this is the official court documents. By the way, Rupert Murdoch is the owner of Fox News channel. I'm not putting words in his mouth. But Rupert Murdoch testified under oath that Fox News promoted election lies on air, despite plenty of evidence revealing that many hosts privately knew the claims made by then president Trump and his surrogates to be false. This is from mediaite, stunning new details emerged and more court documents released Monday in the dominion voting systems defamation lawsuit against Fox. Let me stop right here for a moment. If all of this is accurate and we have no reason to believe it is not accurate, Fox News is in a world of hurt because they are facing $1.6 billion in fines and penalties if they lose this lawsuit and it does not look good. Murdoch admitted in a deposition last month that false election claims were promoted by top host at the cable news network, quote they endorsed. I would have liked us to be stronger in denouncing it in hindsight. Murdoch said, I think so, when asked if host jeanine pirro endorsed the claims, he said Lou Dobbs endorsed the claims a lot and Sean Hannity did so a bit.

The SEC Is 'Kraken' Down With Brian Morgenstern of Riot Platforms
"Welcome back to mining pod, really excited for today's conversation. It falls right after some big news from the SEC last week with SEC announced an action against kraken for its staking arm. We have Brian Morgan stern to join us today from riot platforms. Brian, thank you so much for your time today. Thanks for having me. I'm excited to have this conversation. Let's dive right in. Awesome. Well, you just joined riot platforms as the head of public policy. Obviously riot plays a very important place within the Bitcoin mining space and within the Bitcoin space writ large. You guys are now the largest minor by market cap and obviously with your play in Texas, also very important with the mad state. So public policy is only becoming more important and we want to get you on the podcast as soon as possible once you join. I think we should really start with the SEC thing. We talked about it a little bit last week on my news roundup on the podcast, but it was a bunch of layman's opinion, a bunch of plugs, if you will. And so it's great to get someone like yourself who has actually informed opinion on what happened with the SEC and maybe as it has to do with mining as well. So Buddha over to you, any thoughts on what the SEC did with kraken? Yeah, I mean, my initial thoughts are that it is sort of a piece of this broader agenda I'm seeing amongst regulators. It's not only the SEC. It's also the bank regulators, which we can get into. And then potentially energy regulators that are taking a kind word to use would be skeptical. I think probably the more accurate we're going to be a hostile approach to our industry because look, visual assets, Bitcoin in particular, since we're a Bitcoin miner, the recognizes property by the IRS, the recognized as commodities and futures, that recognize those things that people can hold as stores of value and exchange and yet we have some parts of our government coming after them from multiple fronts

Chaos at Southwest Airlines Defies Pete Buttigieg's Stern Words
"In July, Southwest Airlines had delayed 29 29% of its flights. 29% of its flights, so they were having troubles then, and I'm not trying to knock Southwest Airlines. I obviously they have to get their stuff together. Obviously, they're going to be held accountable. I like flying southwest when I do flights, rare, but when I do fly, I like flying southwest, I'll admit. I love their, I love the comedy. You know, I just love that. They make you feel comfortable. They treat you relatively good. But unfortunately, they've they're going to suffer a big ding. There's no doubt about it. But Buttigieg, he knew about this stuff. All along. See, here's what I can't stand about government officials. And it's not just government officials. It's big government. You should look at government this way. Government can't government can't do things better than you can. They don't know you. A lot of these people like the Pete booties of the world don't even understand business. Big government is never a good thing. So here this guy is trying to pass the buck, trying to pass a book and all along, he's been warned about this. 38 state attorneys told Congress that the DOT had failed to address issues months ago. The federal agency now vows to investigate the holiday travel chaos, but who's investigating Pete booty?

Todd Starnes: Republican Party Should Disassociate From George Santos
"Todd is away this week, but you can always go Todd stern's dot com, the team does such an excellent job of putting news stories out there. The emails that you get as alerts and also the E. Newsletter after the show is done. Todd is out on the Twitter machine as well. And I want to just highlight a couple of things that he wrote this morning on Twitter. So this is the voice of Todd starnes from the socials. Why is it so difficult for the Republican Party to disassociate itself from George Santos? Now mister Santos is the congressman elect from New York who shall we say embellished his resume. Or he lied about everything. Somewhere in there. Picking up mister starnes. The first order of business for the new Congress should be to expel mister Santos integrity does not matter to Democrats, but it should matter to Republicans and he followed that up with another tweet that said, clearly integrity doesn't matter to either party, my bad. It's an interesting point. All right, so here's this fellow, mister Santos, who was elected to Congress, and then the formerly mainstream media started checking out his resume. Now, when I was in journalism school and when I taught journalism at the college level for 25 years, the order was that you check them out before the election. Why was his record why was his background not checked out? Especially when you consider that he was a Republican running you just know that the formerly mainstream media would be out there to try to tear him down if they could. If there was something they could find, they would do it, but yet they didn't.

You've got to be maned of stern stuff for some of the language. He uses and the speed. He's like, he's like a masculine version of that little guy. What's his name Shapiro? He's fast. He's as fast as Shapiro, but he's actually got some testosterone. Sorry, Ben. And then analysis is just good. It is just on the money. Oh, you were talking about how very important point you made again and again and again. That America first and maga is not for all the left would wish it to be a cult of personality. It's actually a global figure with a global brand picking up the leftover debris of the Tea Party, the Buchanan movement, a goat, the original gold water, and then you mention somebody else. Who else would you put into that category? I think Herman Cain seized some of that in 2012. I really do, and I know, what are you going to understand? Trump was kind of a fan of Herman Cain as well. Herman Cain was well on track to being the FrontRunner in 2012. And then they threw a bunch of those astroturfed allegations the same kind that they tried to fire Trump's way. And but he stood and fought. He got on his hind legs and he fought. I think Herman Cain, by the way, was inclined to fight those, but he was thinking more of his family and his wife at the time. Right. As I understand it. And he was like, okay, my family doesn't need this nonsense. And so he ended his campaign. But contrary to what people think he did actually oppose and ultimately disprove those allegations years later.

Help Todd Starnes Grow Across Stations in America
"A matter of fact, we love talking to our local radio stations that carry this program. We love going to those towns and communities and doing our book signings, and being a part of the fabric of the community. I mean, that's what it's all about. I mean, we have a giant front porch with a lot of cracker barrel rocking chairs. And we're always excited to hang out with you guys every single day. But it's a grassroots effort. It's not some sort of a big corporation ordering local radio stations. You have to carry this show. We don't care if it's good or not. You have to carry this show. And we've been very fortunate, and we've been very successful. We have about a 140 radio stations. They carry this program. And we think we think the good lord for every single one of those stations. Every single day. We have a little over 500 radio stations that carry my daily commentary. Many of you hear the commentary, and we thank the good lord every single day. For the radio stations they carry our commentaries. So anyway, we are ready to grow and grace baker is heading up our affiliate team here at the Todd stern show and we want to be able to get on a local radio station. So so many of you listen to us on our digital platform. So you may say Todd, our local talk radio station does not carry you how can we make that happen? Well, it's very simple. And we will personally reach out and then we need you to do the same thing. We need you to reach out as well to your local radio station. So give grace a call 8 four four 747 88 68. You Will Know Them by Their Fruit
"All right, Bryson. I want to continue this conversation because you're not just a rapper. You believe in Christ first. And then rapping is a calling that you have. But I want to talk about the Christian church. And how we are so much different than some of these other religions per CAPiTA. 'cause I think obviously I think the faith in Jesus Christ is the number one thing to get you where you need to go. However, we were more relaxed today. Days ago than everybody else, why do you think that Christians on its stern about the Bible is Muslims with the Quran or Christians on his stern about the Bible as Jewish people are with the Torah? Can you explain that to the people? Because according to the tour, you have to be obedient, right? So Jews already, they teach you, you have to be obedient. Obedience is required. And Islam obedience is required or you'll get excommunicated. And Christianity, people think obedience isn't required. That's why only fans model can claim to be a Christian. That's why stuff I'm not going to name on the radio. You know somebody that's a crit that say they Christians and they got a little channel. Bro, it's people on Twitter that caught himself Christian conservatives might be at this event. They call themselves Christians, but they fight adult film stars. Oh my God. People on God. People think that's okay. And you know what? Who's on call them out because you shouldn't judge retain them right. You're not supposed to judge, not righteously not unrighteously. Leave it up to God, only God can judge, even though insol 82 guy literally calls on us to judge and that's a whole other thing. And you should know them by their fruits. Was he playing? Matthew savin? Was he drunk when he said, no, he was telling her, you should know them by their fruits. You should make a righteous judgment. You're not going to let somebody watch your kid. There's been arrested for felony child pornography. Don't you? Somebody's a sex offender. You never gonna watch it, you have to make a judgment call. Bro, it was funny as right after he talks about judging by the fruit and Matthew 7. When he gets to Matthew 7 23, he says he gives you a list of people that say they did all types of things for Jesus. Didn't I do things in your name? Then I do miracles in your name, and he said, department. I never knew you. I never knew you, Ye that work iniquity. True. You have to be obedient.

Local Washington County Bans Religious-Themed Work Decor for Christmas
"But there is a crazy story out of Seattle Washington king's county there where the county government sent out an edict. They sent out an announcement to all workers regarding Christmas decorations. Now, here at stern's media group, the company I own. We believe in celebrating the reason for the season, as a matter of fact, we have a Christmas tree in our lobby. We have not one, but two nativity scenes. We have all sorts of great decorations, and why is that? Well, because Christmas is about celebrating commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. And we have point set us in just about every nook and cranny of this building. Because, again, we want to celebrate. We invite our Stanford to celebrate to decorate. And we don't tell them what they can or how they can decorate, but that's not the case in King County. Washington. Where county workers have been told that they are not allowed to decorate using religious themed Christmas decorations. So in other words, if you want to decorate your office cubicle, you can not have a cubicle crush. You're not allowed to have that in your office space. As a matter of fact, you're also not allowed to have any sort of cross, you're not allowed to have any sort of nativity scene. If you're Jewish, you're not allowed to have a menorah. All of those on the naughty list, including the star of David. Those are big no nos. Now, if you want to decorate your office cubicle with Black Lives Matter buttons, that's okay. You can actually do that. If you got a gay pride flag or one of those transgender flags, you're able to do that too.

CNN Bans On-Air Drinking During New Year's Eve Broadcasts
"Again, one of those shows that not exactly what you signed up for, but it's Monday and that's the way it is. Also on CNN, I watched the history of sitcoms. The other night oh, by the way, big news. The head of CNN. Chris licked, my told you is going to do great things at that network. He's still making sweeping changes. You know, he got rid of Brian stelter as we know, the guy who also the guy who was jerking off during the Zoom call, Jeffrey too, but he's gone. He took Don lemon's prime time shell away, and now he's really changing things. It was announced that there will be no more drinking alcohol during CNN's New Year's Eve broadcast. Doesn't Chris lick no, that was the only reason why any of us tuned in to see Andy Collin lit up with Anderson Cooper who could barely handle a shot. We used to have a drunk Kathy Griffin with a lot of fun people, Don Lennon was loaded, dancing, it's fun. Give him one day a year to be assholes. Well, seen in their assholes, all year long. But you know, one day is not that big. But no, he cut it out. No more alcohol. So I'm watching this show, the sitcom story, you know, no show ever, ever says anything nice about rosemary. You guys know rosemary. I don't think all of you do. You might act like you do, but you don't. Those of you under 40, 45, probably have no clue. Rosemary was great on the Dick Van Dyke show. She was married to Maury Amsterdam on the show. Van Dyke was something you always want. And he'd walk in and trip over the sofa, a little cushion, and it got home and had his Martine. It was one of those shows, whatever. It was easy viewing, you hear the dogs? just as loud. But rosemary at 5 years old, she was offered a 7 year contract and became a radio star at NBC radio network. And then she made a bunch of films. At 5. Could you imagine what her me too stories were about? I mean, she's dead now, but could you imagine the stories she could tell you about running around desks and who was trying to nail her? This is back when women were secretaries and housewives on librarians. I also saw a bunch of stuff how great to watch Ed Asner as Lou grant on the Mary Tyler Moore show, saw a clip where he got all hot and bothered by Mary's friend, wrote a morgen star, remember Valerie Harper house I loved rhoda. Rona was like before Laverne on Laverne and Shirley. Before Laverne defazio, rona Morgan stern was the first girl on a sitcom that, as an Italian kid, or as a city kid, you'd go, I mean, I grew up a Long Island, but I still had a little bit of Brooklyn in me. You see that girl and you go, oh yeah, that's my cousins. That's our Friends. I know wrote a Morgan stern. Jewish or Italian same thing. Laverne de fazio, same thing. I didn't grow up with Cindy's. I grew up with Laverne's. And I grew up with rhoda's not Mary Tyler Moore's. And it was wonderful to see her because then you said, oh my God, there's a chance for all of us to get work. It's a lot similar, it's very similar to what black people felt when suddenly they thought to appear. There are people began to appear in sitcoms. You know, build caused by was huge and I spy and it made them go, oh my God, we can do this. One of our own is there. So I get that. But there's one part where Lou, Lou grant walks around rhoda as she walks into the newsroom. And he goes, you, you're different. I like you. Then he goes behind it, and he says, I like it from back here too. An old Valerie Harper can say is, I think he's about to kick my tie is what a different world. Thinking back when I was a kid, I had no idea that kind of talk bothered women. Because I saw my mother and my sisters laugh at those comments. So how could any of us think that what they were saying was improper? You know what I mean? And then Betty White, they showed Betty White. I know Betty White way older than me, but I can't explain it. I had a crush on him. I remember being a teenager. And thinking, you know what? When I never married, it would be great to be married to a woman like Betty White. Look at that dimple on her left cheek, you can hold a couple water in that dimple. She's so funny. She loves her men. I just felt like Betty's the best. And that was a kid. I was right.

Dose of Leadership
"stern" Discussed on Dose of Leadership
"You want us to watch a dog on a sled in the winter for a drug that you should be on. Right. So this notion of empathy and community and trust through radio just doesn't exist and that's the idea of ending isolation by hearing someone that sounds like you instead of a poster someone thinks is someone that looks like you. Right. It's a better way to help even the nonprofits to help them find the people with a level of trust and empathy to make them aware that when you're ready, we're here. We got you. Right. That connection, then the authenticity, right? I mean, and I think we're seeing that so much more post this weirdness that we've been through over the last two and a half, three years, is people are and I'll count myself in there. People are sick of kind of trying to being sold something or the BS or the gloss or the actually tell me what it actually is. And what it actually does. And I want to actually know versus I mean, you see that and it's creating a hell of a lot of divisiveness also post everything we've been through, but I personally think that's a good thing because it allows everybody to start to get real with where they're at and what they believe. It's hard to know what you believe until you see somebody that believes the opposite up in your face. And then all of a sudden you start to understand what you actually believe. There's a catalyst. I always go back to what was it, the third Indiana Jones, where he chose poorly and he melts, right? The one with Sean Connery, the third one. Looking at the cup of Christ and the guy picking up. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Right. You want to observe the people that did the maybe chose poorly. I know that you've kind of chosen the right thing. So I'm always curious because just like you have fascinating guests on this show. And I'm always interested in what the underlying motivation is. So you have built a not for profit and a for profit that are all about communication, all about support, all about compassion, all about empathy, all about connection. Why on earth did you do that? Because I'm pissed. Okay. Eternally. Okay. I think being upset that things should be better. I don't mean like changing the world and peace on earth. Esoterically existential. There were so many things that are so simple to fix. And I literally mean really simple to fix. That just boggle my mind that this and apathy and sloth and complacency that no one even wants to try to fix them. I'll give you one great example. Huge success story. So for years, mammograms were 50 years old. You had to be 50 to get a reimbursable mammogram. That's great. That's fantastic. Breast cancer happens over 50. We started to see in the 2000s that breast cancer was happening more in 40 somethings. And it was worse in 40 somethings. So for years, stupid cancer, our partners representative Debbie wasserman Schultz, led this massive push to get screen links down to 40. And reimbursed by employers or just by whatever it is. It's reimbursed. Go to everyone. And finally, once the Affordable Care Act passed, we were able to slot in this sub bill called the early act. Into ACA, and it mandated coverage for women getting mammograms at 40, and it also mandated that the companies making them mammography machines had to update their tech for women's breast tissues that were 40 years old, which are usually denser than women that are menopausal. And they did all that. And as a result, women are getting their first mammograms at 40, and the ones you're finding cancer, and there are many of them, couple hundred a year. Would have died. If we didn't get that bill passed, but the idea of having to spend 8 years to get mammogram screening is down to 40 from 50, which just seems so obvious. One of my best Friends had her mammogram or 40th birthday at state Shu breast cancer. She's alive today because we got that bill passed in 2012. That's one of it shouldn't be this ridiculously stupid. Right. To do a small thing like that. Right. This isn't climate change and saving. It's the smallest things. So that's what drives me because I know it's possible to plug small holes in the dam. It shouldn't be a slow burn. Right. But that's what keeps driving me to fix little things. Well, and when you say fixed little things, from my perspective, where I set today, you're fixing things that are not so little, actually, that are the most important, which is the human emotional psyche if you want to call it that, or the mental health, or whatever name you want to put on it. But that's actually a really big deal. Because that is what that's what truly changes is when the collective starts to shift consciousness. That's when things happen, right? And you were able to drive it. You will, that's what you ultimately did to get bills introduced and get things done as you're changing the way people think about things. And then they go, oh yeah, it took 8 years. Well, again, the young adult cancer movement, which was like livestrong. Right. In the early days, again, a group called critical mass. "So I'm going to be really candid with you with four moments. We've been going through some very stern teachings lately on the way as we dive into the sermon on the mount from Matthews 5 through 7. These last two shows we have done big butts part one and two. I've really indulged in very stern teachings. And it's only a fit inappropriate that we should dive into these things because these are the very words of God. They have life and so it is incumbent upon us to sharpen one another as ironed as iron. The Bible does tell us to do these things. And this is the job of the preachers and the teachers and the apostles, the evangelists, and the prophets among us. Unfortunately, so many of them are linked in their duties. They got his raised up people who is going to get this word out one way or the other. The word of God will never fail. It will never fade away. It is with us today and it will always be with us and if we don't cry out the rocks will. So I want to be very candid with you for a moment. I don't mean to suggest in any way that either of us are exempt from the normal human failings that the greasy grace narrative has risen up to take advantage of the leverage. Most of the contrary, I'm as flawed and as failing a human being as it's ever been born. But about being absolutely perfect, it's about the pursuit of being perfect because our holy father told us that we must be perfect as he is perfect. Jesus told us be perfect as your holy father is perfect. He wouldn't have said that if we can't do that and he certainly would not have charged us with that. If it wasn't from the heart of God. And it is. The charge to be perfect as he is perfect is not suggesting that we will ever be that way. Until we are glorified and crossed over to be with him, what it does mean, however, is that we are to live our lives every single day, walking with Jesus endeavoring to be perfect. Trying to be perfect by his grace. Being trained up into a son or a daughter of the living God who can be perfect. It's not to suggest that any of us are there yet. But just because we aren't there yet, just because we have not yet obtained the level of perfection yet that is required by the gospel. It does not give us carte blanche to do whatever we want. And certainly doesn't give us the latitude to ignore wholesale scriptures just because they happen to make us uncomfortable. And that's what happens in Matthew's 5 through 7 in this teaching that we have been indulging called big butts on the mountain. We are diving into some very tough, very rough teachings that challenge me to my core that shake me to my core because it exposes everything that is flawed in human and all of us. The fallen condition of man, the sinful nature that we all have had to battle with. He makes it very clear that just because we have this nature, just because we battle with this, he's not going to let us off. He has come to pay and it did pay the sacrifice for our sins. He died in the cross for us. He redeemed us. And he has saved us, and now he requires us as we walk with Holy Spirit and him, and with father, living in us. To live our lives in a manner that proves our Salvation through works that reflect our repentance. So to be clear, we're not teaching these things because we're think we're holier than anyone. But we're not teaching these things because you need to go around acting that way either. We're teaching these things because these are the actual words of God, and they are being heard and far too few places among far too few members of the laity. There are being ignored, almost entirely by the body of Christ right now, and that is an abomination. If these words are ignored, they are ignored to the detriment into the damnation and to the suffering. Of all of his little. The scriptures say that my children died for the my children perish for the lack of knowledge. And that's exactly what the Nick ladies do among us, by the way. They attack us by withholding from us. What they claim we are too ignorant to grasp on our own. It's a wicked evil scheme, actually. Meant to promulgate wickedness among the laity so that consciousness will be seared. And sin will be indulged and wicked people who are in high places in the church and the body of Christ can either fatten themselves on the riches that are coming into the, you know, the sheaves that are coming in or they can indulge other wicked evil behaviors that we know they are among us. No, we are going to continue to teach the word of God as it is with, without altering or modifying a single syllable of what Jesus said. So whether it is in the New Testament, the Old Testament, the words of God stand as they are. God doesn't change. He never has never will. And what he said on that mountainside overlooking the Lake of ganesa right or the sea of you at the same place. When he's with his famous words from Matthew 5 three 7, the famous sermon of the mount was recorded, and all of these butts that we've been discoursing about in recent weeks. Was all those things were uttered. Those are the words of God. God almighty spoke truthfully to us. He spoke boldly to us. He spoke without reservations without fear of what how it would impact us. Truth of truth no matter how you slice it and God's slices are perfectly. So join us again this week for the final episode of this series that we were calling big butts on the mountain. On the way..

It'd be something to look forward to. That's for sure and soon after swing back around to Details about the book in a moment if we could look to to a little bit about stood executive. What's that all of that. That's deep stern executive search. I was recruiter for a few years working for other people. And i really got very lucky. I i'd like to think that the luck was also planned. I know very little. But it was a byproduct of my skills. I do think that played a role because a client came to me and said you've done great work for us. We're about to grow at fifty percent a year. The client was price waterhouse before it merged with coopers and and we'd like you to recruit for us and so i took a bold step and said well i would need an annual retainer to make that kind of commitment so they gave me an annual retainer and they covered my costs so i literally started the business with one hundred percent margin working so i was very lucky. I do think. I earned that opportunity with the work. I've done with them over for your period. But i am humbled looking back at my good fortune that i was doing my job at a time when this explosive growth occurred and i was in my house. You know selling away you know. I would be telling people stern executive search. Our grasp is global capacity is unlimited. Our dedication is immeasurable. I was doing it from this tiny office in my home and it all sounded really impressive until my dog started barking ono background. I would make a joke like well. That's one of my senior vice-president. He's very excited. He just got a promotion. And you'll have to forgive me joke out of it and my first wife used to tease me. Because to keep myself going. I would actually give myself plaques that i put on the wall earnings i thankfully i didn't put like employee of the month because i was the only employee sued little bit rig the end of each year i put my earnings. And and you know. I look at those plaques for inspiration and looking back at silly but at the same time it was scary being out there alone and i kind of needed to remind myself and i would tell anyone if times you used to need to use kind of primitive mechanisms. Carry yourself to bolster yourself to regard and to create resilience and courage giving yourself some pats on the back. There's nothing wrong with it But it was you know a little bit silly. But i had plaques on the wall and i was out there pounding the desk and selling hard and again was just very lucky and took advantage of it and dove in headfirst. The rest is history. You know you do what you do to make a difference. Don't you if it helps you to believe in your abilities to achieve something you do it you do but you also hopefully keep an open mind and have a learning capability Because i look back at those first few years an all. I was concerned with. Because i was so afraid that i would fail. I had failed before in life and this felt like the biggest risk. Even if it wasn't monetary risk. I wasn't investing money I i was very transactional oriented..

Now only on amazon music so is there any with the partisanship and with webbed the is is there any potential blowback i mean we know republicans in this country. Don't do anything. Without some other long-term agenda it would seem is there any blowback for the bite administration or democrats in general in florida or in in this. Well i think that florida democrats have handled this pretty well. Because we're from here. We're used to this issue. We get it. Okay you know we get that. Communism is bad bright. We get the castro. Zhima has been horrific for many many years. I mean i. i've a friend who's an attorney and he suing over their practice of essentially endenturing doctors and sending them to other countries to to make money for cuba right. I mean think about it like could you imagine your doctor being indentured to the state and ship to a foreign country to take care of people in some foreign country so that the united states could get revenue from that doctor. What cubans doing right now. So we're all familiar with this The the issue with party conflict comes when you have people that aren't as educated about the history of cuba. The party's history cuba why these things are happening. All the issues with people on the ground. That are real. But then there's the flipside of it right so you have democrats that are like not fully like ingrained in these issues right but you have republicans that are even local right in particular. Miami's mayor francis suarez. Who is setting himself. Up as the telegenic successor to marco rubio but pretending to not be very partisan person he's extremely partisan i know him pretty. Well you know he's somebody who One of the first things he did after he gained elective office was actually inviting rubio to his office. I mean i haven't been invited to the office. You know so i can just tell you that You know his position of seeking a an intervention. It just runs counter to all american political thought on both sides of the aisle right. Now when you think about it you know. I mean americans want to get our troops out of wars that we can't win like if we sent american troops to cuba like you think afghanistan was bad like cuba would not be very different. Really not yeah. Cuba has mountains. I mean it's an island like you'd have to become the dictator of cuba to control cuba practically. "Its radio press nursing people or whoever it is you know just getting them to listen to thirty seconds. Let a whole album makes me feel good about my job when i actually get someone to listen to an album. Tell me what they think about it. The attention span is short these days. And you don't have the advantage. And i imagine you guys did us zero or at least you'd sit out a cd in advance or not today. Yeah exactly if not that they probably have it handy but at least get them to pay attention and pull it out of the stack. At least there was something tangible to hold and read and maybe engage with. But that's just really hard to do these days and the current state of things. But so what did you bounce to. After zero hour age fifteen graduated from high school. I didn't know. I did a lot of internships at an amazing internship. I just had my freshman year of college. I should probably preface this whole interview with. I have the worst memory. And then sometimes i'll just make things up because it's like easier than remembering it actually some until things for the sake of the story But united an amazing internship at my freshman year in college at added two summers added manic records in pr department. And it was. You know me getting my first job out of college and that to me eventually going back to atlantic records still talk to people to this day who i was there intern and they only know me as i was there in intern But i i definitely left. A mark is an intern on on that department And really enjoyed it. But i was young new york city thinking i knew everything at age. Nineteen and going out every night until four in the morning and still showing up at nine thirty in the morning every day. The next the next short to faxes And do the you know the press clippings distribute the press clippings all around the building You know because they had to be there before ten am whenever executive got it. I'm that was the mid nineties when the blowfish was was hot atlantic wisdom label to be had there was you know i i got to see like the music business ad for the money in fun am would you got even more time. The idea work in. Yeah yeah no doubt. Wow yeah that is a pretty golden era. I would imagine and coming right out of high school and college in being able to experience that so that that kind of as you said kind of lead you to circle back to atlantic and job right out of college. Then i mean yeah i know in college. I was in the narrative. All the dance and Very proud of some of the band's. I brought to connecticut college in the late. Nineteen nineties again. Knowing a jacqueline now played in abandoned college. We were awful but sending going around to colleges in the northeast house able to book bands and guinness paid and we were so bad. I mean no one should in us to play their fraternity parties in and other things. But you know. I realized that i can sell this band and get paid to play. These awful shares. Imagine is doing this on behalf of someone who was good. That's a pretty fun job. I keep u. s..
