"Yes so so. Hopefully curry won't even say. Hopefully this vaccine could hear it stubby. We like i don't care not go ahead man. He's not gonna stop me. We him as we hear. The jones stopped needing glasses. I go get lacing nigger. But until then i alice sold if i got to go. Wow damn sizes like read or to asleep. yeah. I would wilder nominee reading glasses. Oh so With just the into carbon My only major issue With him is that on joe. is not so this whole vita this. It's all the bad faith actors. That are lionising him for his decision. That data using him as a talking point. So there's this thing in a lot of books especially in black far deserved circles where they liked. It doesn't matter who you actually are talion who you are. If you have one talking point to their credit they understand propaganda. Will they will zone. And they're very good they will you know you also is. Maybe you should reconsider your position in life. If jason whitlock agreed. Jason whitlock is not only agreeing but champion your point of view. You might watch on your point of view. Also i wanna make a point Do not say that magic. Johnson got to play in the nba with hiv That is Not true that is not true at all is also how hiv works is yes i also not an ball. The space a hit a good point. Let let's put that in our with view. I completely agree with you. We go to justice. Stephen smith right after this. Yeah stephen smith gotta stop doing but we go to i was. I could take a much. So i want you use talking. Yeah yeah yeah so. I didn't wanna make a point his house and did not play in the nba hiv. Right after you got. Hiv literally had to retire. The tiny force retired without then any came back like two years later and play thirty games. Ladies out here saying. I don't want him to sweat on this an nba change. Their blood is still aides. Panic was still very a very real social phenomena. Do when he when he came forward with his diagnosis and even when he came back there was some players that sat out gains that he played in because they did not want to play against anyway. But bill skeeving. Yes so. I don't remember everything nation of say but i'll keep insurance even samaritan things he the character and sometimes that caricature slips off an old uncle. Black borderline conservative uncle shows up and he says some real dumpy. The way he was attacking. Kyri was irresponsible. It move beyond criticizing his point of view and he may valid points about why kyrie's position was dangerous or two issues with it. Then he is like this. It's like one-step forward tuesday's When he when he it's like man it was giving a chipper machine gun. Yes there was no need to go and or personally or the aggressively as he did. And that's why players don't like So moving on rotates bent symbols. Discover that it has a good party. Shaking money is money. Players will come back when finds add up every day. That's why being came back. I agree hasn't i don't think career being fine. He's getting paid twenty million out. I don't remember you know what awaiting he's not getting paid for the reagan making twenty nine which they didn't actually have to pay So you're saying about the business chores. Gory started center situation interesting. Because couple things right. Everyone has behaved poorly in a situation. Like i wanna be clear. I don't think. Ben simmons is a hundred percent right i also understand growing ask nato as a grown ass man if i fuck up. I don't need y'all to buy two closes. My coach and the other superstar seemed to be like no saudi. That guy's long and 'cause that's not with this not what has been okay. There's one hundred percent. Whatever we watch these same press conferences. Yes and embiid servers young. And i win with this. Can you win a coach that directly after the game. Because you're coke you're right no no no no no. No that is on doc rivers. Okay go here. Answers accident on rebuttal intelligence because once again bring this up every single time. Two thousand eleven. Possibly the greatest basketball player also had one of the worst. I have ever seen a player. Eric's way do new like that nigga. Salt he bitten. He lost us this series. They did not do that because you know why. Because they're not don't they're not. Oh well i've emotional in the moment no grow up both of you doc rivers. You've been coaching a long time. Brooke dwelling beat. You were not the caliber player. Who can shit on another player. would you also didn't play that well in that. Siri is said. He said there was some always their loan after he said by within. Hold on. okay. I got interrupt you there. Because we've had talked to death. And i know your position on this. Maybe the audience does brown position on. There was no point in which he could've addressed. Ben simmons failings in that game for you in my opinion for you in which it would have been appropriate time whether whether he put first or whether he put himself frustration last it like you said that there was no right way for him to say that i know it the very right way to him could. I've seen it done at. How does how they had. Twenty seven eight eric. Who lebron james there was. There was a right way to say the blue. No you're say that and that's where we disagree because a what had this is. My brother hit me up. We're so quick as a public in it as a media coach it'd be like we're so tired of sanitize answers were so tired of dishonesty sports we wanna get some real genuine human moments that out of it and we get a is will crucify him. We can't help both well. No no no no no. This is not law. Crucifying them is pretending. Like ben simmons reaction to them is wrong. That's what i i agree i understand and i. I'm sure ben simmons understand. I did not play well in that series. I probably won't. He probably doesn't mean is running mate in his coast to be like a nigga is normal and then the team to go out of their way to be like. You're trying sage. We are trying to trade. You will fuck. Y'all trading is omar. God oh my god. He is such an ingrained literally. Wanna.

"That i saw today. I don't even know if it's true high nineties. Don't get me wrong. no. I'm going to answer that hood so jp said but that's the point. Will he needs to speak up on his position because he said it's about being a voice for the voiceless number. One and number two us. Oh i saw report. Today i'd invalidate. They said there are less than twenty five. nba players who are not vaccinated too. Yeah so you're talking about ninety nine th percentile now okay. Respond respond to what like restaurants to which should carry those players. I guess him not how but the idea behind is because the majority is doing. It should go ahead and do it. That's basically i here and at talent and you and you as a black person none of that resonate with you at all. I mean but just go with it because they tell us to do it. But that's not valid though because majority of mba's black my point. Nothing about that you. You don't have none of that and think to yourself like like i've heard that somewhere before everybody else is doing. You need to do to what. I have apprehensions about it. Like why can't he. Why can't he had have his opinion about it. I trying to say like because he does the good shit then he loud to do this shit and my opinion about the about the vaccination and getting it or not getting it. It's been like adam. I'm good with whatever you feel you need to do. That's how you got to do it to me. It would be fucking. I'm still gonna play. I'm a sneaking here and do this shit okay. But like just because my team wants me to get it. He just say fuck it. I'm playing fuck what you're talking about I'm still coming here. i'm associated with. I'm still showing up. Yeah you're gonna have to call. The police stopped me from playing. All right let's okay taking into what you saw when career went for those that don't know carry on i g last night finally. He's finally said some said something so you'd have a problem with him not saying anything because his initial conference when it first came out that he wasn't doing he said. Hey this decision but for me and my family is appreciate you. And i really really asking me about it so i want to myself. What else he needed to say. Why do i need to explain something to me. Because it's the media. I gotta do a job. Help all right and i answered the question. That's it like to. Why would i need to come out and say no i. Oh you an explanation nuts. Well that's how stephen issue so y respectively. I focused even a. I told you like. "The fact that so. So here's what you have to ask yourself. Yeah would the nets legitimately try to trade kyrie irving outta here because of all the nonsense that they went through with him last year. I always say nonsense. Which is all the stuff they went through with him last year and then out of the blue kyri says if the nets ever traded me i would retire tire yup and then come stephen smith saying that kevin durant went to the nets. Said you're not getting rid of Are- because if you are then i'm not signing my extension essentially. Yeah i mean it all makes sense to me. Man may maybe. I don't believe that sean marks had the intention of trading kyrie irving ever. I really don't believe that. I don't i think when they brought those guys in and they wanted to target kyri durant that the ideas to sign them to long-term deals all three of them to keep them here and then chase champ. Forget him harry. Irving went awol on the mets on the nets. I you know how critical is in different. If it's a different discussion but you sign a deal with the devil. You knew what you were getting these guys and now you gotta deal with it telling me after one disappointing year. That all of a now. That sean marks wants to get rid of kyrie irving. There's no way he's kevin durant wouldn't be here without kyrie irving you said it yesterday. You said that you believed that both kevin durant and james harden wanna win a championship. Joe also then said that kyrie irving basketball is not the most important thing to him. He's got other things in his right. He wants to accomplish what i think what i think. Sean marks thanks are two different things. That's that's what i'm trying to tell you. Do you believe stephen. A was Ranting on and you know bloviating on. I totally i totally. Yeah i dunno not not in the middle of the week not a lot going on and it's like let's go to. The nets stirs up mop. I don't know i'm not sure what to believe. What those guys. I really have. No idea they just scream and yell and create headlines. I have no idea. Yeah but you know it's it all happened. I bohm boom boom. It all happened. And why haven't kyrie irving and james harden signed. They're extensions. i don't understand. Why wouldn't you just signed your extension. Here's your extension here. Here's what it is that a hell of a lot of money sign it. Yeah i think that will happen. I think you'll see both of them signing. I think the cairo will be on the nets this next year. I'm just curious about the vaccination thing with him. That's what's going to happen with. That is going to be another that. Yeah that's what i'm saying. If you're sean marks enough's enough already i mean you know. Are you showing up to meetings..

"Her time as white house president again. That was what she was known for. Yes so where should we put the english on that. I'm ready to take your questions. Now needed the answers. But now i am ready to take your question. This is one of those books but like seventy grisham had a number of roles in the white house she worked for the first lady of it was the press secretary. I think there are a couple of job. Titles in between but i feel like at this point. She's best known as the person who was. Who is who will be telling all in the indeterminate future. That don't does. She spent more time in the public eye since she left the white house but in this very vague planted stories. Sort of way. Like just wait with seventy grisham finally gets rates her book. It's going to have a lot of details about the malania donald relationship but that was like a year ago at this point. It's as the book finally written and coming out. I guess this is. It shouldn't be. I'll take your questions now. It's like the and finally going to write this book now. Absolutely and in fact that has come to refer wition in politico's playbook who am i god on a couple of levels one is this is how political introduces it now. Grisham is breaking her silence. Not only a favorite press box phrase breaking her silence but in this case yes she did not speak to the press when it was her job to speak to the press. Now she is breaking her silence A couple of scoops From the book laid out in this preview. But i wanna i wanna call your attention to an anonymous source. David listen to this. Listen to this part of the politico playbook air a publishing source said the quote. Stephanie knows she stirred up a hornet's nest with this book. continuing quote. Stephanie has secrets about trump. That even the first lady doesn't know the source said secrets that he doesn't want her to know they will be in this book a publishing source. That sounds an awful lot like somebody who works at the publishing house. That's coming out with the book and presumably someone in the public relations department of the publishing house right. Because if it's not them or the publisher. No one is being known as being green lit to pass information along and certainly not in such a manufactured quote sort of way. Yeah the kind-hearted soul over it can off would just really believes in what stephanie grisham is doing for literature. Here passing this quote along to politico. I tweeted about this so pond. Deb over the new york times said it could also be an agent publishing source may cover the person who has actually representing that. That's that's definitely plausible. There's the the lions between publisher agent or very fuzzy but But yeah i mean this is not i mean. I'm sure there's it's a matter of perception more than more than ethics. But certainly to serve it up as if this is like you know an associate editor who's gonna sues like with an extra grind who's like leaking stuff out without their employer's consent for the better you know we'd like this like like trump white house post-facto whistleblower something. That's not what this is at all. I don't want to speak out of turn here but this book is really really explode. Let me tell you something coming up on. today's show. We react to the way. The media reacted to week. One of the nfl. Plus do broadcasters say the words million and billion in a really weird way and david and other very special headline format inside the secret world of will explain more. The press box of the ringer podcast network. Hello media consumers. Bryan curtis and david shoemaker. Here along with producer. Eric surveys david. We just enjoyed week. One of nfl action Lots of great games. Should we share our reactions. Or and tell me if i'm doing this right our overreactions to what just happened. Did you notice this. you're my. I guess it wasn't just me I think it seemed to me when when digesting the games this morning and some last night that every single outlet present company included bill and south of this on on the guest aligns podcast. I'm sure the nfl show has done it to some degree. Every single outlet at this point is doing ironic overreactions right. Now let me couch this a little bit. We one of the nfl season is the time for overreactions. Right i mean. I think if you went back to the past decade you would see that the the top topics on i take were completely baseless went by the time this season ended right like the the the team angst. The quarterback controversies The you know the the hopelessness of certain franchises week one means nothing nothing to you know by the time. This season is born out. So there's a lot of overreactions or at least uninformed reactions deliberately so at week one but now everybody is overreacting. Stephen smith style the difference being that they're doing it with self awareness or at least a stated self-awareness. It's not the stephen smith vacation of all of the world because they're addressing it from this remove rate. This is an ironic overreaction. Ha ha ha. But it's it's like it's like the hipsters stephen smith of sports or something and the and the thing is in an effort to be smith and he's not the only one this is sports talk. This is obviously. There's a lot of tv shows on fox in espn. That are deliberately over the top with their with their with their statements on a daily basis. But it's like everybody else in an effort to be different from that perceived model now. Everybody else is doing it exactly the same way. Yes we're all doing. The exact same takes stephen as bit. Where'd you saying they're overreactions instead of reactions. And we're aware that they're overreactions. And i'm not exactly sure it except for the the the framing. I'm not exactly sure what the difference between a week went overreaction and like a week three regular take race like are you. Do you clearly believe what you're saying to some degree. Some people don't but but it's just it's it's just allowing one allowing oneself to be ridiculous when in the absence of well when they were probably be ridiculous with her ridiculous had the same similar takes with or without the framing. We know they're going to be ridiculous. We know it is ridiculous to say after one week of football. Are the eagles for real right. Good the texans beyond something here so as you say we we do that take but we put air quotes around and that gives us the distance it allows us to do what stephen a. the espn opinionated. Do but it gives us just enough distance from what they do. Yes so that we feel comfortable with what we're doing and i think by the way we could add the audience feels comfortable with.

"And reality is fifty segments day seventy five segments week Over three thousand takes a year to the nine years. I've been on. I think i've given over thirty three thousand tanks and a lot of people don't realize that not just the work that goes in but also the fact that is a chemistry that you and sometimes it and so thirty. Three thousand takes been the same that none of them they've never talked about. The same thing hopefully never talked about the same thing on shows and on multiple days. Just because you know a baker's dozen of those takes happened to involve him listening players that haven't played on that team for the last three years relevant cereal to the discussion. Yup and nothing changes. The fact stephen smith has given over thirty three thousand takes in his career. I love how many takes. How many takes you think we've given. I'd be shocked if it was how many per show. That's a good question. I think we'd give twenty to fifty takes per show multiplied by five fifty something. Let's say let's say one hundred takes a week so pro hundred a year. We can do matheny. We've given probably we've given over three thousand takes on this show. Three thousand three thousand takes on this show about right more more more. Probably more but yeah shadowed. Stephen smith doing live calculations of crushed it. The amount of takes him laughing about the cowboys. That's the best he's just. He's voted for that. All right. my who's back. The week is cuck fans are officially backed because the nfl season just started. And i feel like nfl fans have a special like kuchma to them which is very very funny nba fans do it. And it's kind of pathetic nfl fans and it's like this is really bizarre. What do you mean. Cut fans Fans that are saying coming in pieces. So i saw this on twitter. This came from The steelers read. It came so it reads ravens fan here here. I come in peace. Who the hell does the browns think they are. That fan base is so fucking toxics toxic and think they run not only the division but the league. As far as i'm concerned as long as the both of us are in this division it will always be ours. They have a good team for the first time in decades and think the league is. There's no matter how much i hate you guys. If i'm going to war with one team by my side it's the steelers is it. Simply because of the great fights put up against us year in and year out no matter how bad one of us are at least since he fans know their place and remained somewhat humble for cleveland. Best of luck this year unless you're playing us that's sad behavior from a ravens fan. Go to war with you. Honestly that is that is pathetic. Behaviour arabians fan unreal. They piece i would say at this point. The browns live rent free. And that guy's yep that's rent-free behavior. I'd agree but but the coming pieces always it's always funny. I non side fan here coming in peace. I hope they andres okay. It's always it's always always good. Oh my god all right. Billy jake Drives to left to make it a four. nothing ballgames or back because that's exactly wouldn't cost yesterday. What was yesterday. i'm over it. I think it's like i'm so over. There's he hit a home run on september eleventh on the. I don't know they're playing game. I thought it was a cooler that he hit a deep drives left to make it a four. nothing ballgame o. J. j. j. puritan. Yeah i love it. I love you know he did all those details. Same action say yeah okay. I do agree though. It's kind of weird like every time there's a home run jump on twitter and quick google like they search for what's the most recent tragedy. I hope there was a mass shooting. Day so i can take a screen shot of this cassiano. Tween put next to the news talking about no one in particular one in particular one eventually like unfortunately get to a point where he home run and someone has to commit a murder. Just get it in the news. I wouldn't have thought finding southie office. He's like a tragedy as night. Crawler movie that's going to be mean right. The debate for tennis goat is back though. Because we still have a three way times djokovic. Nfl sunday yeah. No one i just saw some colitis ears. He chosen wash carolina. He could have had the first grand slam. Men's and since the sixties and the ball better going up new dolls. Never nobody no good joe. Jovic could have had it. Jokes probably sets of the straightest sets of them all. Yeah yeah fat. He you know what he finished so fast. Not a patino joke. He was probably trying to watch the chiefs browns game. That's a football guy. Yeah in fact who committed loves football loves he loves. patrick melts. The actually probably be more josh allen. Probably live tweet. Probably live tweeting in between sets the chiefs really suck said no one ever. Yeah thanks for coming out. Yes so jake. I don't know what you're talking about. He's a joke. Your joke is a joke your joke. He's a joke your joke. He's a fucking joke. Your oh hank. Almost no big at one year. I'm like that ref in boxing pilly. We're all punchdrunk. That's how much of a joke you that was a pin and you put it up three points also count all those as individual takes given on this show who who's a joke joke joke retake nice. Try your job. I'm New York City attorney and author Michael Stephen Smith, and I'm New York City attorney and activist Heidi Bogosian by now. Anyone living in an urban area of America certainly can see that our nation's homeless problem has grown alarmingly over the past year. Yes, Despite halfhearted governmental efforts, such as rent, moratoriums and partial rent forgiveness programs, The numbers of Americans on the streets just keeps right on getting larger and larger. Currently 2.5 to 3 million Americans are living on the streets in shelters or in transitional housing, with an estimated 7.5 million more who are only that. Well, you know one paycheck away from being homeless Decades of criminal government neglect. Runaway rent increases the lack of low cost governmental housing. But make sure i get to my point like he wasn't he didn't care about me dunkin on them necessarily he recognized that sometimes meet dunk on him is good for the show and also like If i'm comfortable dunkin on him then i'll be comfortable with him dunking. He recognized that like this is a show in doing it with him. Gave me a new appreciation. Because you remember. I guess don't remember what year this was is probably twani sixteen or something like that and steven has gone through a lot. Since then not negatively necessarily this like he's changed somewhat and he's like more of a american icon for lack of a better word back then. People worse hugely critical of him where like downplaying his ability. Can you get on tv. and yell. And i'd never really given it any thought. But like i felt i was smarter and i'll i'll beat them because i'm but i don't wanna say he didn't care about winning because obviously cared about winning but he was more concerned with being an entertainer than anything else and to me sitting there like he was debating me once i started to like play. Nice and stop trying to be the rabbit little dog who's trying to prove something and started watching him. The man was making his debates setting up opportunities for me to come in directing the show in the camera. All doing all of this without talking like he's looking at the camera in signaling to the control room he's looking at me and like signaling to me because i don't want a bunch of dead air but he understands the use of silence which is important to buy for dramatic effects and i'm buttoning on his dramatic silences. And he's looking at me like like you. You messing up the game young at the horrible feeling. We're stephen yeah. And then i started to learn. He would give me a look where he was done with what he was saying but he didn't want to be quiet. He wanted to energy to keep going and so he'd be talking and looking at me like coin. Like do your thing. And i was just like after two hours sitting him all like that is a master class. Only how talented people are until you get up in there and see them work. Oh no no no one thing about it is and you saw this and you may even read at this week. Steven wants you to go back and forth right like even a is not a person that wants you to back down. Don't get it wrong. He does what some difference is stephen. A smith right like it's not like when you get on tv with steven steven is like i'm the king here and you need to respect it. Such that ain't helper. He wants to go on the back and forth. But i've said this for years and it seems like a more obvious point now. This is the dead of truth. I get that people who don't do this job. Don't understand it entirely. It looks like it's it's very simple to understand in a lotta ways but they're like elements and components that people don't get like for example. Nobody's two guys works for dan when people first come on. I don't get the stugatz thing. I'm like i understand is gonna take you a minute. Like there's a technical element to a stugatz provides. That is legitimately brilliant. But if you don't do this you're not going to be in a position to really like pick up. What is that. He's doing in there with stephen. A smith first of all stephen smith is a bright man. Like i don't say that in a patronizing sword way quietly. He's like one of the more thoughtful people that you have when it comes to giving these answers and talking about stuff and he's low key and incredible listener like he's hearing everything you say he's rolling with it and if it's on something that's just not like completely out of wheelhouse right. He got something for you that he is considered that he is thought out that he has stated. Clearly you understand every word that he says he does not stammer. He does not stutter when his town to pick it up. He picks it up when it's time to bring it down. He brings it down. That dude is better at what this thing is that we do then any body else. It ain't about whether or not you like it or not now. Learning that an all the things you said about even a true and impressive and people will try to get them for the times when he makes mistakes but bam probably be doing too much damn tv. We all make mistakes every now and then but your point about him being better. There's in your point about people not understand what's going on. I recognize the same thing. And stu guys the to like. I don't wanna risk overselling. How talented at some of these people are. But i don't think you can with stephen a. eli's because the ability to do the things that he's doing. I had this conversation with a lot of people because it took me. I guess a year or so to realise this that i wasn't planning on coming tv. I quit my job at the nba and started writing and then he is being called me. If you wanna write for us sure. And then i was asking for too much money and they were like well. We don't pay right like that so you're gonna have to do some tv. And i was like all right. Well i'll start doing some tv. So i kind of fell into it and then people at home like i used to be like all right. Well the best person wins. The best argument is what you're here for. We here for that. We are here for entertainment. You know what i mean like. That's what people to in for an understanding that teaching people something is a type of entertainment like npr. They ball and in the podcast game. 'cause they be teaching people stuff in an entertaining and interesting way so like being bombastic is not the only way to entertain. But that's part of what stephen does and understanding that you gotta turn it down certain times to turn it up. You gotta you gotta be angry. Sometimes you gotta be like you gotta mix it up to keep going in understanding the timing of that and the thing that i have the most trouble with and you might be able to tell it from the rambling that i just did now and i do this on. Get up all the time. Trying to kick myself is like being comfortable with silence. Found myself talking fast by myself. Trying to fill stuff in. And i find myself trying to outsmart the next guy then. I have to remind myself that people who are watching this. They've been the work or they haven't they got kids. They stressing they want to sit down and they want to be engaged and entertained. They do not give a damn. If you know this rosters top the bottom they care if it seemed like you mailing it in or you didn't watch the games or you don't read about it and you just faking it. But they really want to do is like either be riveted laugh. Smile get angry. what are like. It's like watching a movie like people watch scary movies. Those things seem like something that you wouldn't enjoy but it engages you. Nc to think about silence is to help you. I would this just to understand that the thing is you gotta get to a point where you could use. Silence says a device. And what i mean by that is stephen. A. has been doing this so long. It has a rep such then when that silence comes before he talks it. Bill spits or don't nobody know who you are daylight. You say some building to eighty thing for those people if they don't know who you are when you come to that silence but he's reached that point where he knows when to get in their win to get out like ralph wiley..

"I wanted to zoom out and go over the big picture landscape with someone who talks on our airwaves every day about the nba. Dhs is favourite league. I think the one. And only the greatest showman in show business and tv for espn stephen smith. Our you sub man. How you doing man glad to finally be here. I'm thrilled to make it happen. You are out in la. So let's start there you talked. I was listening to you on. I take a few days ago. Talking about russell. Westbrook in the amount of pressure that's on russell westbrook. But tell me about you know how. How do you think he fits. Lebron how what are you looking for him. How does he have to changes game or does he have to change his game. Well listen. I think i think both have to modify to some degree. Lebron can't be as ball dominant as as he has been off making all the decisions. Because that's one of the reasons rusting wanna be in houston anymore as you. Well know Because he didn't want to be you know sitting on the sidelines. Playing the role of spectator being on the plane and roller spectator watching james audit. Well that's not gonna change lebron james. He's happy to be back home. He's happy to be la. He's happy to be on a title contender which he is on. We get all of that But in the end he still russell westbrook in you know credit to him. You know like. I told you we've had to be. We've all had to be critical of him at times. What we know that. He's an electrifying talent. The most athletic point guard we've ever seen in nba history. We know he's a walk in triple double and we also know. He never cheat to game with his effort when he's out on a court it's always one hundred percent and so when you look at the slow. Almost snail like pace that the lakers could could. Could you know what wouldn't prone to plan towards playing at at tom's in the past and now you've got somebody like russell westbrook all of a sudden and lebron having a night off. Ad having a night off isn't as daunting as it was the previous two years. I think that helps them during the regular season. And then i think once the postseason comes whatever it takes to win is what i think the character in russell westbrook and lebron james will do.

"Shake cornet bart scott day to back either either. It must be rough in july. Got a lot of good stuff to get to tonight but number one and a finals game six tonight in the district. Yes i'm excited. It's a little tricky like. Let's just peel back the curtain. When you gotta get up at like three in the morning stay up late to watch final game. But that's what we got coffee for. So i will find a way to find a way. You'll get a sponsor before this is going to a sponsor. What did you say we will get a sponsor before before this all over with somebody gonna give it some type of energy something. That's how on. Well i used to have doing your hair before that. That doesn't look good twisted. We're remember mike tyson punch out like little mike. Let's get to what we need to talk about here. I mentioned game six tonight. Milwaukee and the bucks are going to try to close this thing out at home but the question now becomes because we're inching so close to that finish line and the sons do need to win one if they want to bring it back to phoenix and they want to extend this to seven games but nonetheless The bucks have been victorious more times than the sons and so this question is what kind of opens the floodgates here is. Can someone other than you have to win. The mvp at this point should the bucks go on and win tonight in milwaukee and before you answer that We got some straight talk. Brought to you by straight talk wireless. In fact. Stephen smith does because he thinks it could be. Chris middleton take a listen even.

"Live up to the legends. That came before him. Whatever path you take the greatness gatorade is there to help you feel it because greatness starts with g good. What's going on everybody. Welcome into i take. Thank you for hanging with us. Hope you all had a fabulous weekend. Stephen smith max kellerman. Molly rose gentlemen. We ready to do this every day. All right let's go the bucks one game away from hosting larry o'brien trophy. But let's talk about some of the highlights fellas. Max held boat the drew holiday steel and then the alleyoop unreal right great play by drew holiday and he credited team. Defense stephen as right about that. I love the fact that they went for it. They went for the wind. Fortune favors the bones going forward. They'll trying to score good for them. But stephen smith thing that blew my mind. Was the chris paul foul. That was such a blunder. That's an all time if the sun's go on to lose this series. Oh my god like. I'm kinda rooting for them to in game six because they can't go out like that steven he's if you're gonna foul which is a stupid thing to do because you can't stop them at that point you gotta make sure that he doesn't scores and by the way he's up in the air. It's dangerous foul but if you just go foul it's a one possession game with fifteen seconds left. You have the ball but you could get the overtime pretty easily in that situation by foulland. You are begging for it to be a to possession. Games with fifteen seconds left for all and purposes. That's the end of the game. It was boneheaded on so many levels and to occur in that situation in that moment that leverage was unreal to me. I really hope chris. Paul has a great game six his legacy needs. We'll upbringing that. He does well but it is important that that play was and i certainly don't Don't try to diminish from that max kellerman. The bottom line is one of the big. Three are playing They they played like a big three on saturday. Middleton at twenty nine in his mid range game is just pure. that's the name that's the word that comes to my mind. Just pure silky smooth. Mari hardwood from power. Was texting me during the game. Talking about how you know just middleton's mid range game special to behold debt that that that definitely integer my jrue holly having twenty seven points and thirteen assists supplant spectacular basketball or both ends of the floor. He deserves a lot of credit when the big three do something like that they are three. They definitely are not a fake big three. Make no mistake about it. And that's what we saw saturday night. Certainly to play. Why chris paul and the turnover Prior to that by devon booker's amazing that the way that he play dropping forty points playing away that he's been playing trying to offset what milwaukee's thrown at them that it came down to those two book turning the ball over and then c. p. three committing that foolish foul because he certainly didn't need to do that. Because if you got the breakaway dunk alleyoop. And it was just that they still would have been within three and had potential to tie it but to me were really really stays stands out in my mind. I came into this game. Thinking about cameron johnson and how they needed to get him plan time and they need him to get him the ball. The guy played twenty one minutes. Took three shots may to i lost. Count max and how many times he was open and now the three nor devon booker got him the basketball now offset to some degree by booker because booker would look them off and then go and do his own thing and most of the time he made the basket so it was offset by that but cameron. Johnson definitely deserved more shots. Then he got and also thought that was pivotal to outcome. Stephen a. in the moment of truth. Though you're right booker was gonna play hero ball. The milwaukee bucks knew it and they stripped them because drew holiday is a heads up. Type player you're right about that. You gotta you gotta spread it around and we saw resiliency on the road. Sixteen point comeback. Guys let's keep going so game six is tomorrow. Milwaukee can close it out on their home floor in claimed their first nba championship since seventy one. When kareem abdul jabbar was leading the charge. Stephen a smith is this series. Already over believe it is. I believe it is. I have to be consistent with what i said prior to game five on saturday friday when we warned the air. I said milwaukee's now losing game. Six of utah phoenix suns. You need to win game five so you can ultimately force a game seven. They did not do that and a result. I think that the milwaukee bucks. Close this out tuesday night. And they end up winning the champion their first championship since the seventies yana senator cuco. I just can't say enough about the guy still doesn't have a perimeter shot obviously still struggles with his three grows but the hard work the dedication the focus. That's nasty the fact that he galvanizes guys around them and bring them together He lifts up lifts dummy doesn't tamp down he does things that stars is supposed to do And considered the fact that this guy signed What will walkie and stay. Da got two hundred and forty five million in the process for them to acquired you. Holiday and chris middleton although they were assisted because a guy like kyrie irving kids hurt because career renowned gotten hurt. I do believe that brooklyn will be in the finals instead of phoenix. No question about that but in the end it doesn't take away from what we've seen the milwaukee bucks to chris middleton game again it's been raised game as pure and not only that he closes jrue holiday. We always know him. As an elite defender but to have twenty seven points thirteen assists in pivotal five on a row speaks volumes for him and what he brings to the table. The milwaukee bucks are bigger. They are stronger. They are more athletic. They are deeper a really. It's the heroics of devon booker along with contributions. whether it's ep. Three mckell bridges or somebody in and out. You know that that's kept this series interesting but the better team is ahead. Right now Just simply because they're bigger stronger more athletic deeper etc. I'm not saying that there's no way in hell. That phoenix can't overcome this. But it looks quite daunting to say the least. And if i got a bet my money. I'm betting it on milwaukee close in this series out tomorrow night at defy advisor center advisor forum. I think it's over. I don't think it is over Possible the bucks. Close them out. But it's quite possible to sons win at milwaukee. Look why do i say that. I just saw in the last two games. One of your walkie one in phoenix. I saw the game come down to the final play. I saw it comes right down to the wire. I'm supposed to believe because we talk about things like momentum in the press the fans and the press do even the players and the coaches do that. Somehow that means that the suns can't win. Momentum is one phoenix play away from not existing right now either games four or game five the reason the bucks are beating the suns at this moment is because when it mattered. Most they got great play from their best players. The sons have not. Maybe that maybe you're right steven a. And that means that in fact the bucks better because with the money on the line jonas comes through middleton comes through in this series drew holiday has now come through big time with his defense and then and then the the alley part of the you right i get to. I believe chris. Paul and devon booker or incapable of that kind of play. No i don't either. One of those guys can take over a game. I've seen it in these playoffs in these playoffs. They've done a roic things. They now need to do that. Someone has to do it. Even if it is passing to open cam johnson. What you got to make great plays at the end of these games. That's.

Come from someone who spoke english. They would say yes. That's not xenophobic. That's that's nothing but a very strong likelihood. Would you prefer that the biggest star in your sport and shohei otani is the biggest star in baseball. Right now would you. He spoke english. They would say yes. That doesn't mean he can't be the face of baseball doesn't mean he can't be the face of a sport it doesn't mean you can't market him it doesn't mean he can't be celebrated none of everything they want to do a shohei ohtani they can do regardless of whether he speaks english language poorly whether he doesn't speak at all whether he needs an interpreter weather one day he doesn't need an interpreter he is worth being celebrated he is worth being cherished he is worth being marketed. He has worth all the hype. But if you ask somebody running a sports league here's a marquee guy that people are really interested in and get to know about. Would they prefer he spoke english. Yeah they're probably gonna say yes now. I don't know that stephen a. articulated that as well as maybe he would have liked. He has since sort of walk things back and apologized but he took a beating. And there's a part of me that goes okay. It's not harmful for the sport. He can be the face of baseball. He right now is the face of baseball. And and there's a lot of curiosity. I think born born from the fact that he is from another part of the world but if you ask the marketing people you the marketing people the elliott angels. Would you like it. If he spoke english they would probably say yes. I think if stephen would not not stephen smith needs my advice but i think if if stephen would have articulated the point like that i don't know that he would have been as beaten up as he was. I think that is very fair to say. He can't be the most market a guy in the game doesn't mean he can't be a marquee attraction doesn't mean he can't be somebody that fans gravitate toward but but if the people who in baseball had their way. Yeah i'm sure they would prefer somebody who spoke the language of most of their fans. I i don't think it's not controversial to say exactly that we have to go back at it tomorrow. A smith goes all breitbart or something. Yeah i mean because that's the world we live in. Everybody can get get their points of view out. Get their takes on different things. And i think stephen a. probably came to the realization or somebody did that. What he said about shohei otani was a fallback is basically what it comes down to and You know here's a guy that's trying to make a living in major league baseball and maybe doesn't speak the language as well and gets nervous about. And i'm sure he understands english but i'm sure he's very uncomfortable having to respond in english because he may say something out of context that you know that maybe just absolutely hated by us idiots in the media. Yeah so that's why they have interpreted. This is why. I give a lot of credit to a guy like gleyber torres. He knows what's being said about him and he tries the answer in english. He's working on his english..

"stephen smith" Discussed on Mornings with Keyshawn, Jorge & LZ

"Me live is good up to all in the finals as it heads now to milwaukee and for the sons and that fan base to wins away from a long-awaited first nba title in the question. We've been asking you at eight at eight say. Espn eight seven to nine. Three seven seven six when you think of ranch is in their fan bases which one deserves a title. The most the sons are in that category. Who else should be in that conversation. John is in denver. Who you got john. Are we talking about the. Hey good morning how you doing. Are we talking about the nba finals or are we talking about the question. We originally the original one and any team any sport. And any i mean franchise any sport man you got soccer cricket would pay krecko will. I'm i'm i ultimately. I have the phoenix suns winning and seven. But i'm rooting for the bucks. Going back to your original question. though. I'm a i'm a huge denver broncos fan i would like to say the denver broncos thinking of it from a broad spectrum however out after say the cowboys with their expensive roster and always having the the the you know. I i'm just gonna go to quote stephen smith. Stephen smith will say what can go wrong. We'll go wrong with the cowboys with that expensive roster. They need to capitalize to the cowboys. Or it's now we were going. Thanks john do. They deserve deserve deserve them. Kind of going to serve observe. Because you just feel like they've been through so much. They deserve a championship now. I don't feel like the cowboys deserve to run. Cleveland browns concern with the championship chicago bears. They deserve a championship like the clippers. Think about it though the clippers. Just think about it. They've never sniffed tom. What it's like to be in the finals for i am. I am stepping away from my washington football team loyalty. Am i known cowboys. Whatever ism feeling toward them. I don't understand why they don't deserve one though in your mind because like you said no cowboys don't because when you walk into cowboy stadium you walk into the facility. The trophies are sitting there even though they're past the may still seeing your so yours for sure you're right. Syria is never done it or hasn't done in forever and ever and forever and ever ever ever ever and ever and ever ever ever of okay. You know like the clippers net. They don't even know what it's like. Body building no bid on the stage. They have no idea what you know. Now that you've clarified the distinction. I'm following time to bring in our good friend q. Rich quinn richardson. Speaking of clippers for maybe a player of course joins right. Now on the goodyear hotline. Brought to you by your help. You discover the road ahead. Goodyear more driven q. Good morning would you. Would you put the clippers on that list of franchises that like deserve a shot at a title deserve a chance to win a title. The most out of any sport any for any fan base. I wouldn't put a very high on that list. But i think i would say that you know with with the recent changes in that direction. We're going in. We're getting set point where we deserve it. As far as i think. The fans have been deserving it but i think organization standpoint you know we we now we can start no capping on those years. Yeah i mean. I understand what you're saying i get it i get it. But it's it's ownership. That does exactly you want to joy question. A about that handle that very tactfully. He's been there done that before speaking championships in deserving phoenix's up too old now getting ready to head on the road the milwaukee in three. This is this over with now. Is that a rap or is too early to say that yeah. I absolutely believe it's too early to say that. It's iraq and so because milwaukee like you say he did exactly what they were supposed to do no matter though no matter what fashioned it was done. They protect the home court in one or two games. Now milwaukee as to go back to back home in the world can you know recruit try re strategize and come back out into the same thing on nashville. What's the most impressive thing you've seen so far from the sun's outside of what i would the big three I was there. I would say bridges man. Bridges bridges in I'm most impressed with with bridges and crowder For one crowder. I love the fact. I mean you know key i'm og. I love the veteran veteran leadership. He brings to the team. I love the she brings to the team. I love the mentality. And dispositions the brings to the thing he has a toughness and and and the physicality them a no back down and then no nonsense is that i love and i feel like teams need and then when you look at where bridges is doing. He's to me. He's going to expect between you know his defense lengthy has and has impact. middleton defensively some other guys but i mean. His shooting is gone empty. Net that that that Other guy who's gonna make sites and make plays whether it's slash to the basket or offense to be bound or great defensive play he's his name very impactful and extract the row and they haven't really had to answer one thing we keep hearing from the sun squad who is the accountability. The way that they are able to check one another push one another. I know that's not something. You can quite quantify when you look at a box score but how special is it to have this young group. That really just kinda has leaned into letting chris paul take the reins and show them how to get to the promised land. It's unbelievable what i really believe. It starts with money though It was it was a really good clip last night in the game. From time out. When you see you guys are aging was kinda because he business probably be the most. He struggled to this point right now. In in the playoffs he's been pretty dominant. Had his way a lot and he was having a kind of a tough time. It was great to see money. Have a great coach with him letting him know that. Hey you're disappointed in yourself right. Not because you set that you set the bar high and and don't think that you can't go out there and reach that level but you know also don't believe that you have to do a statistic you can go dominate the game impact the game which affords and it was great to see how he had his head now. He made him look up out of you mean being through them and you could tell it that. That was really coaching as a player as a player. That's what you need. And that's what you love the from your coaches speaking of coaching q. I want you to listen to something. Stephen said last night on sports center after game to something. We've been talking a lot about with on the bucks. Side of things with mike boone holder. And i just wanna get your reaction to it. I take a listen to it here stephen. You see devon book a hitting shots early okay.

Stephen .M. Smith and the Iron Bowl

"Stephen smith welcome back from touchdown. Alabama stephen amit always good to see you and great to have you on the program. So it's the week of the iron bowl you've been high on the tide. Since the first time we talked during the summer. let's start with mag jones because you told us. He was different than that was before the public. In the heisman voters fell in love with him. Absolutely i mean. The young man has been battle tested poise and career. I remember him in the us. Freshmen in two thousand seventeen with the scout team out there throwing bombs and of course coach saban told him stop throwing the ball deep all the time. King looks at cope sabres coach. Tell your defense a check me there so you got a guy with that type about and that type of confidence even check his own coach. Nick sabin that you got yourself a quarterback that can really do some special things. So i knew from mack. Jones the freshman that he was poised to this moment but also seeing the growth that he's made targeted stephen m. smith who stephen m. seems like every every aspect of alabama has gotten better the one that has surprised when people is the is the defense. Because after the ole miss game i i wasn't sure that p golden should be buying green bananas. But what's happened on that side of the ball. The main thing is coke. Sabin and pete goading have done a great job. Simplifying things on times player stink too much. You think about my job and is my teammate. Doing his job. It's the guy in front of me. The guy behind me the guy next to me doing their job. And when you're thinking about so many things of your job is and training your is to be district where confusion comes in so nick. Saban has always been one to say. Do your job and the rest will take care of itself. So she and goading been a great june above of simplifying. The game plan players have done their job. You're seeing more pressure on defense guys stopping the run better. More turnovers created a the big thing here. Paul is essentially omits game. You've looked eleven. Shutout quarters football alabama including a complete game shutout of mississippi state and the team is getting off the theater on third down so a better job of simplifying the game plan and players. You know being concerned about doing their job correctly. It's interesting. we haven't really heard much in the aftermath of jason water when he went down some of the pundits. I remember somebody. Espn said alabama was done. They had no chance of winning the national championship. How has that been dealt with on the team. Because it doesn't seem like and i realized alabama has played a top five team Yet they will seem like they've done quite well without him. I remember a conversation. I had with john. Michie paul about you know. How do you feel. Avoid behind by waddell. He's a one type player. Barry explosive guy would. He got hurt against the volunteers. You heard coach. Sabe say you know. I hurt for college football. Not the fact that saving hearts for alabama. I'm sure he pretty much does but he hurts for college. Football due to people enjoy seeing james waddell on the field. He's fast he's a bottle he's gone. He's energetic he's explosive. He's highly entertaining. Obama has found ways to work. Around this. you've seen slade. Boden return be on kickoffs. Of course he got a twisted ankle against kentucky alabama monitoring jam all week and practice. He should be able to go this week. But we'll see what happens We have seen devante. Smith retiring ponts against kentucky patrick satanic. A second has also field in that role a little bit so save has put he and different guys and that special teams role to try to you know. Fill that void but it's worked out for the most part. It is difficult trying to find that guy that can do know what j. waddell does

Why this candidate for West Virginia governor isn't even the focal point of his own campaign

"Stephen Smith was already running an unconventional campaign for governor of West Virginia. It's opponent fide of the people effort under the banner. West Virginia can't wait the campaign. Its Policy Proposals and budget have been discussed and written by the people. In fact. Smith isn't even the focal point of his own race for governor. Even Corona virus has an upended the campaign Smith says the pandemic has only enhanced their message. But will it work? If Smith who has to win the Democratic nomination in June defeats the incumbent Republican in November Smith. Thinks so hear him explain. Why Right now Stephen Smith thank you very much for coming on the podcast? Thank you so to be here so I've been watching your campaign now for a while since October when we met through our mutual friend justice guests and he wanted me to meet you because he was saying this. Guy Steven he is running a different kind of campaign. And you laid it out to me at that dinner. Talk about the kind of campaign. You're running so our campaign starts with a simple light. Yeah we actually don't think that one governor is the problems we actually believed that never in America district Sunni Non West. Virginia history has a politician in the answer politician League wars years ago or the teachers strike two years ago that we exchanged from the bottom up. So that's how we built our campaign starting Almost three years ago we having conversations with folks all across the state saying what would it look like? What would it take to run a campaign where the ended it just win one office but we won something closer to a people's Government in West Virginia? And that's what we're doing now a a people's government talk more about how this campaign is working because it it's not just hey on Seba Smith running for Governor and you've got volunteers around the state who are running around and getting people to vote for you. It's a little bit more involved in that right. They were to show people that were doing something different. We have to do it with our actions. Not just our word so the first thing I did was build county volunteer teams in all five counts tourist state so in every county. There's a West Virginia can't wait. Volunteer team is not Jefferson County for Stephen Smith Jefferson. County can't wait then. We realized that some people are gonNA come into politics based not from where they live but from their identity as a coal miner or color Muslim are students or social worker so we will thirty nine constituencies teams veterans can't waste seniors can't rate so last piece of the puzzle was New Year more than why can't and five fifteen or twenty people to run the same kind of kept a race that you're so look for people would say no pack money promised Across the picket line promises Behind from a debate never hunch down and again we thought fifteen twenty twenty five people that would be a revolution West Virginia here. We are eighteen months later. There are ninety four of us running together up down and importantly we're running all different kinds of offices and council to Congress and Senate and everything in between we also represent the people of West Virginia in a way that is far different adverse truer than the current I'm ninety four. Candidates are disproportionately black. Disproportionately women disproportionately veterans disproportionately educators. Came directly from the Teachers Strike Movement. Were disproportionately waiting members. The LG Clusky unity and together. We represent something more like what are states. And that's what wrath of these people I mean. You're you're running in. The Democratic Party are all the people who are running in all of these positions. The all these elected hopefully elected physicians. Are they also all democrats from the beginning of this campaign? We've announced strategic read but also morally. We had a duty to build the people's government not just based on the people only go Democrat. Which is a fairly small group of people in West Virginia? We defeat curious about inviting independence. I needed people who voted for the president. Met doesn't mean compromise our values on the contrary. What it means is looking. For the biggest boldest issues that could get and that's what we found in this campaign that on issue after issue there was a democratic position that you could find the state capital a Republicans Find the State Capitol and then it was a bit consensus. Common Sense. Position wasn't being argued by corporate arms of the Democratic or Party. And that's where we find our strength and that's why we broken Joe Mansions Record for the most. Donations ever in governor's race in West Virginia history because you're appealing to literally accountable to a wide range of people from all different parts of the state walks threatening.

Magic Johnson continues to tarnish the Lakers' and his legacy

"In addition to Vogel, being officially introduced Monday, the Lakers were front and center with Magic Johnson's comments on ESPN's I take then I start hearing, you know, massing you're not working hard enough, Magic's, not in office. So people around the Laker office was telling me saying things, and I didn't like those things being said behind my back wasn't in the office enough, and so on and on. So Magic Johnson going public again with the dirty laundry from the LA Lakers. What do we make it ESPN insider Adrian Wiltshire around, I think two things with Magic Johnson. Number one, a lot of excuses and blame on other people for the simple fact that he didn't want to do this job. He told he said he told janey bus in the beginning, I'm not going to be here on a full-time basis. I'm going to run my business. He didn't stay in there on a full-time basis. He was not around very. Often. So if rob Pelinka had said to somebody Magic's, not here. He's not around. It was a statement of fact, maybe not so much backstabbing. And number two, the fact that magic brought up the idea today of wanting to buy the Lakers. They're not for sale. But certainly, he got that idea out there that he would like to own that team to me that was certainly something of a message for, gene. Everything he doesn't says, is strategic is that the reason in your mind why he came out and wanted to talk about all of this today? I think it was. There's no question. It was part of it. But the blaming of everybody else for him walking away how he quit. In the end he made it very clear, this job takes tremendous commitment wasn't willing to make it right. Even though he made that clear between bus in the beginning at the end of the day, she's the leader. She's the boss, boss. And so you have to point to the top when there's an issue like those issues, the now she's got an even bigger problem on her hands. Palinka still running things. How does she won't? She has the lead here, and by Magic Johnson not being around by him going weeks at a time not being around the facility, not that valuating talent not working with coaches it created a leadership vacuum. And you've seen a lot of people. A lot of names, the Rambus is Tim Harris. Phil Jackson pe-, different people are going to fill that void. She has to decide about how she wants this organization. Run by committee with lots of people or does, she want to centralize it. And right now, she seems to want this organization by committee. That's a hard way to do it in the states that way, then how can anyone expect things to change by the way Frank Vogel? The new head coach congratulations. This is going to be fun. Speaking, frank. We have much more on his news. It wasn't about him. Of course Pelinka was going to be asked about the match situation. Angeles. Magic's comments on Monday, of course, much of it being a he said he said situation as for the reaction from our Stephen Smith. There's no way in hell. I'm not

Super Bowl 2019: Pregame coverage before Patriots vs. Rams

"The game, of course, is a big part of it. But also there are other sort of story lines beyond the the Rams and the patriots in a couple of them. There are interesting to me is I want to start Myron with with with gronk. He's kind of had a resurgence a little bit here in the playoffs starting to see a little bit of the gronk of bold wrestlemainia is the first Sunday in April. I'm of the belief that I'm going to see grog make his debut in the WWE it wrestlemainia and then his time in football. Is over. After today. Do you agree with that? And do you think that whatever happened today win or lose could have any effect either way? Well, I think that makes a lot of sense excuse me, especially because you're talking about a guy who can probably get millions of dollars on a pretty limited. Wrestling scheduled Cadillac around. Arousing Brock Leser, like it's not like the old days where he's going to have to wrestle three hundred days out of the year. This guy's going to get paid to show up on special events and make millions. He's talked so much about how much money he saved throughout his career. He's talked about not wanting to play too long. I don't know if today affects anything because he's a first ballot hall of Famer whether he wins or loses today, he's got a bunch of money in the Bank. And I think he could be the next rock in. In. I think he could be that. He's got a personality. You're not a wrestling guy. He's not the rock rock. Am wrestling. He could be that. Well, rock started out as what rocky my via. He was fighting from the family name. And then he emerged as his own way. I can't broadcast that personality in the WWE. We'll promote him. I think he could become a superstar who eventually goes in the movies and forgets football. All right. I I'm not going to argue with the wrestling part of it. But because you're wrong. But Dan, do you think this is it for I? Yeah, I do. But I do believe that tonight's result swings that okay? I can see if they lose tonight especially in close ballgame Brady convincing gronk for another year. Come back for another year. Don't forget is AO win the first round tackled. It's not part of this team. He'll be back. Like, we give me one more run. Gronk I can see that happening. Now, if they win I do believe that he calls it a career as he rightfully shit. Don't take don't. Remember, the comments he made this last week of him talking about the wear and tear, and how much it weighs on you. Mentally, and how hard it is to get hurt and have to practice, and how difficult it that difficult of a thing that is now to say that he's the next rock is absolutely outrageous. Like the row how first of all the rock is the rock was a guy that went into wrestling because that was the the the means to an end that was the vehicle. News and his family had been. He was going to you second of all the rock is incredibly business savvy and Hollywood savvy works like a dog like this is a guy. When it comes to football. Yes. When it comes to training for football. Yes. But he doesn't. I mean, the rock literally works like a dog. I need more talking about the rotten. Now. I saw the rock when he was in survivor series as rocky my via no one knew he wasn't good. And he was trying to figure out who he would be gronk could come in in the social media air, which rocketed the rock didn't come in in the social media era. All I'm saying is gronk could be a superstar in wrestling. Well, let me add gronk is only he's only twenty nine it feels like he's been around forever damnit. He's only twenty nine now he's taking a lot of hits bodies like a forty year old guy. But I guess what I'm saying is listen to countdown to kickoff on ESPN radio you've been through this process and Myron, and I haven't the process to decide you know, what that's it. Right. That's a hard process for every athlete. No matter the level, whether you're elite or not is it in part of it. I think is do I have something to go. Do do you think? I mean, we we talk about wrestling and a lot of people may roll their eyes. But it is something I know he can do if he wants whether it can be great or not he can do it is that talked to me about the process of saying I'm walking away. And and how how how players go through that mindset. Yeah. I mean for for me, you know, it was a great majority of it was I don't love the crap anymore. Doesn't it feel like he doesn't either? Yeah. I mean, that's that's no you're not gonna pay. Now granted if someone was going to pay me five million dollars. I would have dealt with it again, if someone's gonna pay gronk ten or twelve million dollars, maybe, but you get you deal with the crap. Like, so many people doing their job you do with that crap. Because you still love it. You love all the things that competition the locker room, the fellas the drive to be great the work, you love all that. And then once you don't love the dealing with the crap anymore that stuff doesn't matter anymore. It's not worth it anymore. And that's when you start facing the question of do I wanna do this anymore? And it makes it completely now. When I went through my transition, I wasn't for sure. Like, I was like all right. I want to get into analysts in broadcasting get into TV TV. And I was like I'm just gonna go rather than sitter sitting around. And wait. So I knew that there was at least the opportunity there for me. Gronk scan have way more. More than I had presented to him. But if you get to that point where you're done loving, the crap that you have to deal with and there are avenues for you to go. It makes it such an easier decision in move for you to go. You know what I'm done? Here's the next Chad having those options, I do think is is huge. You will have a lot of options. And you didn't know when you quit you're going to get to do a show with Matt Jones in my. But then sometimes I have earlier if I did exactly the Lord's blessing. There you are. So let's talk about the next to the players on the field. Maybe the person that has the most sort of its state today. Myron is your guy Tony Romo? I mean. I'm not sure an announcer has gotten this level of praise maybe ever like universal praise of people going Stephen Smith said is the best performance he'd ever seen from an announcer. And so the thing is that's awesome. Except you've got one more game. And I always of the opinion the most important two days in your life or the first in the last at a job. Well, the last impression he's gonna get from us is this game. Is there pressure on him to recreate the magic from two weeks ago? I think there's a ton of pressure on him to do that. And I think the problem is announcers like him who get this early praise. How many of them go down as being folks? And a lot of people don't like, you know, it's unfortunate because you start out liking guys like Tony Romo. He deserves all of this praise, but because you expect now people expect him to be some profit every game the minute. He shows any sort of flora weakness people are gonna jump onto that and start to criticize him. But I think he's facing more pressure than any announcer at a Super Bowl or any analysts had a Super Bowl that I can remember because people think he's like something we haven't seen before. And now he's going to have to deal with that pressure. Incomes care like most of the time. I'll be honest with you, Dan. I don't even know who the announcers are until I realized what network game is on. But with Romo I mean, there are prop bets on how many he's gonna call. Like, this is he is not the biggest story the game is. But you know, he's the second third or fourth. Biggest story. I think a big part of it too is like people are having a ton of fun listening to him. Torino because not only is he very good at what he does in. I've said this as a broadcaster networks you better have quarterbacks on there. Because you you've gotta be able to get people to understand the game different levels that communicated to all kinds of people. But it's the fact of he continuously telling educating people on the wise in house put it's fun. Like, you're having fun. Like John Madden was the last announcer. Who seemed like he was having as much fun as Romo, and it's it's okay. For him to talk over Jim Nance for a second. Because if you were sitting at a bar with your friends are in the living room having a beer with your friends. You talk over your buddy here in this moment. So it's not like this. You know in cookie cutter ish. Oh, we don't do that. Because it's television. But what happens if I'm saying is really good. Then I'm gonna do it. You know? And I think that there is that appreciation for for from people going like this is really good. And he's telling me stuff, that's really. Good. But also like the fact that there's really nobody else on TV sounding like him in ways. Like that like talking over Jim Nance, Jayme lake. It just seems like he's having a blast doing it. There are very few announcers who make the crossover into a personality that they matter Madden did mired. I'd say Barkley has vital. Did like there are many. And I think romo's headed groups, Dan Orlovsky will continue to be on. Would you agree with that? Yes. I think he is definitely in that group of guys where you go. You're now going to watch games because romo's attached to it doesn't matter the game because he's gonna make any game more interesting. Just because of who he is become he's become a part of the game now, and that's a good thing. Because like damn fed people. Like, I think I honestly think there are very few announcers that them just being there matters. I think John Madden. Did I think dick Vitale did Bill Walton? I think dick Vitale did. And I think I think Tony Romo is is sort of becoming like that who's going to win the game. After all this talk who actually is going to

Man arrested for killing parents, girlfriend, 2 more in Louisiana

Golden State Warriors Rumors

"Golden state you gotta be kidding me but here is golden state's dilemma for all of you to know they are in the goshi asics they are talking with klay thompson they do plan on talking to him more so again this summer although klay thompson father michael thompson colleague here at espn radio out of la has stated that he sincerely doubts that klay thompson will sign a contract this summer he wants to wait until he becomes a free agent at twenty nineteen if you had a golden state warriors your top priority is to keep your core for intact klay thompson up after next season draymond green is up after two more seasons if lebron decides that indeed he wants to come to the bay area golden state would be in a position where lebron was to opt in and force the trade out of cleveland golden state would be in a position where you're talking about clay andrey mongering being gone in favor of making room for lebron join k d and stuff wolf getting i'm rooting for this to happen just so i can hear what it sounds like for stephen smith to lose his mind you've heard before don't threaten me right he said he apparently it's never have cool okay but didn't he come after durant in a way that suggested the loss mind situation that there was a movie trailer that we did because he was furious with kevin durant so he was more furious lebron james than he is with kevin durant to god that was in keeping it cool.

Tallahassee police raid apartment of Florida State Seminoles quarterback Deondre Francois, no arrest made

"Orlando sentinel florida state quarterback andre francois spent the last two months under surveillance by the tallahassee police department because someone convinced them he was selling weed oh boy because what everybody's gonna go back to the team it's winston thing and everybody's going to go back to all its jameis winston two point oh listen to this so after the tipster went to the tallahassee police department with their theory back in february there was a two month investigation by the tpp that they went through francois's garbage and they went through some stuff to see if he was selling we well apparently after they felt like they got enough of enough evidence to get a subpoena and go break in and searches apartment they found seventeen grams just over half an ounce and for those that don't know in states where lee weed is legal it's it's pretty normal for somebody to carry a full ounce per person that's the you know so it was less than that so they've got a little back back explaining to do i think the tipster set him up apparently the tallahassee police department was by some tipster somebody guaranteed it was a gator fan i was probably hurricane fan trying to get the andrea francois kicked off the team belt head coach willie taggart says he's still on the team but you know what it's not surprising that he's using smoking we because he's got that tendon tear could remember that he suffered the play in the alabama game took him down so hopefully he's recovering back in and i don't want to give to dictate or anything because you wanna stay off the weed i am with stephen smith on this stay off the we'd do not get addicted but apparently for people that are a massive pain it's an acceptable l a lot of people that get on that you know say it helps so i i'm not going to get into the we debate in my side of it you know what if it's very very small control amounts and it helps it you're okay but the sentinel article says after the cops figured out they had wasted their time they went.
