"Footage was finally shown on tv. And then stephen port was arrested nose. Easy it could have been a lot easier and done a lot sooner grew. Yes so donna taylor. Who's jack's mother said that the police should be held accountable for the percents death. She's accused the police of class gender and sexual bias as suggested that lives may have been saved. Had the police acted sooner. She's not the only one thinking that way. No not at all. So the case ended up being given over to a specialized homicide unit. Port was brought in and interrogated by the police on october fifteenth. Two thousand fifteen and he denied involvement in any of the deaths now during his interrogation port showed some signs of nervousness and then they signed struck. The detectives may be some deception going. I so one thing was low volume in his voice then he crossed his arms and he clenched fists is also scratching at his nose and squirming in his chair. I guess out of context yolk in a real appreciation for that now but when you watch it you really can see. Yes yes so. He was charged for the murders of anthony. Gabriel daniel jack and for drugging indoor raping seven more young men so the prosecution by telling the jury that stephen port would meet young men through websites and dating apps such as grinder and the case against him which show a man who was in pursuit of nothing more than his own sexual gratification. A man who had no qualms about drugging and sexually assaulting his victims and in four of those cases he had killed the young men in his apartment board had described himself as having a preference for young small. Boyish men generally coach tweaks his preference for penetrating drugged. Men was clear when examining his computer searches and his site visits with show drug rape pornography. He also video recorded himself having intercourse with unconscious. Young men he'd been making men unconscious with drugs and without their consent for some time so that he could have sex with them without their consent so dragging them and raping them and then he'd murdered a few or he gamed too much. Ghb or whatever. Well yes. I don't think that he intentionally wanted these young men to die necessarily but it didn't bother him too much did it sure didn't and turns out the. Hp wasn't the only drug report used on his victims. It also used aimal nitrate biogra- meow twins tea or tina and crystal meth animal nitrate. Meow twins key or tina. "Right and the things they would find out when they started investigating only back that up and convinced the more her absolutely so they. They contacted the police for an update on jack. Case is about two weeks into it. They learned that nothing had been done in the investigation. Since jacob been found so that's according to the police have been found dead of a drug overdose and that was that. Yeah right so. The sisters were just incredulous that this attitude and they began their own investigation. And it didn't take them to find out about the other three nearly identical this for sure now. All it took was a simple internet. Search to make this connection and it's a connection. The police were unwilling to make a real difficult connection to make. So i feel like if it wasn't for the sisters and John pipe and some others. I think stephen port could have gone killing because he wasn't even very creative or smart about this. No he wasn't the first one was right outside of his apartment and he called nine nine nine himself. Yeah and the others were within. What a couple of hundred yards from him in the graveyard Nearly identical circumstances so the sisters continued to question the investigators about a connection between these deaths. Finally the police showed the sisters. Some cici tv footage that they had of jack meeting a man walking down the street with them so the sisters hadn't even been aware that this footage existed before that day and they asked about the man in the footage with jack but the police said they didn't know who the man was and they didn't seem to care. I mean. of course. It was stephen poor but the police showed no concern and did nothing about it. They didn't even look into who it might have been. It seems there's no evidence they did any investigating which if someone turns up dead the last person they're seen walking around with at night. That should be an important thing to look into certain. Be a person of interest right right and there had to be records. He hooked up with these people through social media and apps all that could easily be traced. Yes but it wasn't so the police told the sisters that they had jack with the man up until a certain point then they lost the man and they saw jack walk ahead alone to the churchyard where he was later found and this did not make sense at all to check. Sisters jack would not have walked through the park in the dark and then sat down in the dirt against a stone wall where he was found. He wouldn't do drugs especially injecting drugs. So the sisters were thoroughly convinced that jack would not have walked alone into the churchyard so they whip back to the spot. Where the cici tv footage of jack and the man ended and they asked police if maybe jacked have turned left at that spot and not walked toward the churchyard and they finally got a policeman to go. Look at that footage again and this officer looked at the footage and learned that the sisters were totally correct about this. Jack had not walked up on his own at all. He was always with this man in the footage. So jack sisters asked the police to release an image of this man from the footage to the public to try and get an identity and it took several requests but they finally did do that..

"The coroner asked the detective if the handwriting had been analyzed and the detective said that they had looked at it themselves at the police station but no expert analysis had even been done too expensive. So it's like you were me looking at some handwriting and say yeah that matches it'd be him. Yeah we'll the detective in charge was then asked about a blue bedsheet that daniel had been found sitting on and his parents knew nothing about this. No dna testing had been done on the spreadsheet. The detective said because they didn't think that this death was suspicious but if that dna had been tested they would likely have found stephen ports. Dna right which of course was in the police database already because of his earlier arrest bro. Possibly burger didn't happen now. So another mistake made your then the coroner brought up. The bruising had been found entered daniels on arms on his chest. Daniel's parents looking at this salo that's not a suicide he'd been taken to that spot and dumped. It seems obvious really. The parents ask for further investigation. But they were told at no more investigations going to be done so that we've got this open verdict but no more was going to be done about it case closed now. Daniel's parents felt that big mistakes have been made and that the killer of daniel gabriel and anthony would never be found and this cleared the way for another young man to be killed in the same fashion. So let's add one more corpse right so even if you're doubtful after the first kid after the second kid and then after the third kit had come on. This is just such an obvious pattern. I think this barbara finding two dead boys in the same position in the same place right there. That should have been plenty to set off a huge investigation right. There are no coincidences here. Now absolutely so on september thirteenth. Two thousand fifteen. Stephen port exchanged messages with twenty. Five year old taylor. Jack lived in duggan ham with his parents and worked as a forklift. Operator he had two sisters he was very close with as well. So jek didn't come home that saturday night and on monday he still wasn't home. The police showed up at jack's parents house and informed them that jack was dead. The police told the family that jack was found in the st margaret's graveyard and then he was dead of a drug overdose. They'd also found a syringe and jecs pocket and a needle mark in his arm but his family didn't believe that jack would willingly take these drugs. He was anti-drug so he certainly wasn't going to be injecting himself with drugs. Norway subject sisters were really heroes in this case. They got a lot done because they weren't going to accept this they. They knew in their heart of hearts that the police scenario wasn't the case..

"Pw now at the police did was. They didn't show the entire note to daniel's parents as you showed like the bottom half or something and they looked at it. The parents look at it and said that's not something daniels had written. Didn't look like his handwriting. Didn't sound like they knew he would sound so. The police did not take their opinion into account ended up telling the parents. Well it is what it is and you just going to have to deal with it. That's really nice. That's a big help. It really is and his parents. Were just so confused because daniel was happy guy no history of drug abuse and his death just made no sense. Daniel been raised most of his life by his father so he was just the apple of his eye. He was everything to him. He was his father's only child and just adored by him and of course his step mom had grown to love him as well so this loss was completely overwhelming for the family but they felt that the police were on interested in even doing an investigation. Which just made it worse. The pathologist who examined daniels body did note that there was bruising below both of daniel's arms which may have resulted from manual handling of him before he died still. The police didn't view. His death is suspicious at all. They accepted what was written in the note. But daniel's parents thought that the police were having the handwriting professionally analyzed. They gave the police samples of daniel's writing in waited to hear back about that. Yeah now later on. When the his parents were able to see the entire note they fellow so cold and matter of fact that there's nothing telling that was actually from daniel and it also said. Don't blame the guy was with last night. Like she's super suspicious right. Yeah so. Daniel's parents wanted to know who's that guy will sharing you think the police would have wanted to know that such an obvious way to try and deter someone. Well you would think in fact they asked that question of the police and the police said they didn't know and they might never know. Did they didn't really care who it was. But you know if they just made that connection to anthony. They knew that anthony was with stephen. Port stephen port had been arrested for lying to the police over anthony staff so the fact that they didn't look into him right away on. This is just mind boggling. And if they'd done a thorough investigation they could have quite easily made the connections to solve this case. But they just weren't interested miss. You didn't seem that way now. In gabriel's ex-flatmate john pay heard about this third death. He was word that the death row connected and he became concerned for his own safety. He doesn't know who's murdering these gay men in his area so he calls up to police but they assured him these deaths were not murdered. Don't worry yeah. He's actually concerned. He says this kid was my roommate and he was found dead. Two other young men were found dead. I'm a gay young man in the same area. who knew him. What's going on here. And they just said these aren't suspicious. These aren't murders pretty much. Just leave us alone. And stephen poor made attempts to bolster his cover story to he made up a fake facebook profile under the name john luck and this was supposedly a twenty one year old former gay porn star from california now living in england and he claimed to have known gabriel. He started spreading stories..

"Your kids are young adults newfield. They are sensible please. Reinforced stranger danger warnings. The internet is a fabulous thing but be aware there are predators. Says she was right on the money there right away. She thought he was murdered. And i think that's another thing. Police should have listened to what kind of young man this was and what he would have been involved in what he might not have been involved in if it was his choice before port was sent to jail for lying to the police he would commit more crimes twenty two year old. Gabriel covari moved to london from slovakia in june of two thousand fourteen and he found a flatmate but after just six weeks living in the spare room of john. Pap- gabriel moved in with stephen port then in august gabriel was living with poor when ryan edwards was introduced to him by port corded described gabriel as his new slovakian tw- inc flatmate and ryan liked. Gabriel who is intelligent and nice to talk to so ryan kept in touch with gabriel. They texted each other. Occasionally and when ryan texted port to tell them how nice he thought that gabriel was port. Texted back will do. I'm taking good care of him. He and within days of that text ryan notice. Gabriel just wasn't there appeared. He texted port asking if he had heard from. Gabriel and port replied that. He didn't know where he was that he may have left to stay at some soldier. Daddy life short time later ryan received a long text import sanit. He had some really sad news poured into port. Gabriel had gone back. Home picked up mysterious illness and died. That's hard to swallow her. Pour it also told ryan. Don't mention this. Don't say anything with friends and family particularly on facebook because they're already really upset. That wouldn't help them right exactly but port had killed gabriel with an overdose of ghb. Then he'd moved gabriel's body a few hundred meters away. Time to the graveyard of saint margaret's church so it was august twentieth and london resident. Barbara denham was out walking her dog on the church grounds which was her habit to do. She unleashed her dog to let him run around a bit and as she walked toward the abbey she noticed a young man sitting upright against the stonewall barbara approached him but when she was close enough to speak to him she noticed that he was very still and he didn't seem to be breathing. His head was down and he was wearing sunglasses but they were crooked on his face and she could tell something definitely was not right. She clapped her hands. She shouted out but he didn't respond then. She noticed that his skin had a bluish hue and that his eyes were glazed over so she called nine nine nine right then when the police came they suspected that gabriel had died from self inflicted drug overdose and they decided that his death was not suspicious. They tracked down his address which led them to the apartment of john pay. But john had many questions about gabriel's death he went online and he found an article about anthony..

"Enough investigating for exactly right and they would look into stephen port abet as the collar but they didn't really investigate him as maybe being responsible for this young man staff so very poor investigation. You're not much at all. Yeah so this death from ghb. That's what killed all four of stephen ports victims which will get into the rest of them. But i thought before we get into that. Maybe you could explain a little bit about. Ghb the mechanism of action. And why that would be drug that portwood use sure. I'll try anyway so. Ghb is a metabolite of the neurotransmitter gaba. Gee that's gamma amino beauty. Eric acid now. Gob is the most prevalent inhibitory neurotransmitter. That's in the central nervous system. Inhibitory neurotransmitters have many functions but mostly they serve to modulate the central nervous system by slowing down the firing of other neurons both in the brain and spinal cord. So that's why they call it an inhibitory neurotransmitter basically slows things down had been used as an anesthetic at one time but that using it as that resulted in a number of serious side effects so this has been discontinued at least for uses as an anesthetic agent. Ghb did become a popular drug in the eighties because it was used to improve athletic performance and reduced body fat so it's popularity. It was popular by builders and his popularity continues of the drug is not an anabolic steroid. Even though it's often portrayed as one and then it also has a reputation as an aphrodisiac and it is one of the major date. Rape drug of those drugs used by sexual predators. Ghb's usa banned by the da in two thousand but a couple of years later found to be useful in treating narcolepsy which is the disorder. Wages clock i fall asleep. Yes i find that strange. If it can make you unconscious but it can be used to keep you conscious. It's weird. yeah yeah so because it was found to be useful in narcolepsy was given special permission by the fda to be specifically for that purpose and it can be produced artificially by using some very common ingredients so anybody known. You don't even need a chemistry degrees. It's fairly simple drug to make a lot of it. Yeah yeah whoever found that stash. That was not just for personal use. He was selling it. He think he was selling it. Okay or that may be just using it on these young men but selling. It's also a possibility the amount i don't know her the bbc special or documentary that we watched. Yes there was a ton. Yeah there was a line be. That was for television. But there's a lot of ghb yet did it did really show it as being a lot. So it's abuse does still occur in three major groups of people it's used as a rave or a club drug and it still has a reputation with younger. people is being a safer alternative to ecstasy. So it produces feelings of euphoria. And so she ability. And it's still considered to be an aphrodisiac. Although there's no proof of that predator is still used. Ghb is the date rape drug like you mentioned because it can produce unconsciousness and memory loss when given to people who take it on. Louis athletes and bodybuilders do still use ghb fat burning aid and to increase energy and their athletic performance. But its ability to increase muscle mass. As an aphrodisiac and as an athletic performance enhancer are just mostly. Not true. doesn't really work. Its effect on memory..
