In fact, there's some breaking news out of Pennsylvania into that In a moment. Mike is in Charlotte in North Carolina. Hello, Mike. You're next on Schmidt. Oh, Todd, Glad to get on the air in here. I just wanted to thank the Charlie community coming together. You know, I see my past schools in blue. I see the LM don't ask to be Liam. You know, blue lives matter, and I feel really Heartened when I see something like that saying, Hey, I'm Mike. How do you know that The hash tag BLM is for blue lives matter for police support versus black lives matter. Oh, Oh, no, no, it has to be blue lives matter after what's going on? You know the police protecting us and No. The riots in cities. You know what else could it be? Could not be anything. So you have your baby, of course, has take BLM, for the most part is black lives matter. But your I'm taking your phone call. You're being a little sarcastic and facetious that you're just assuming that every time you see BLM, you're discounting the fact that it could mean black lives matter that you're suggesting that it's got to be blue lives matter. That's your opinion. It's the first thing that comes to my mind. It has to be because of of the discontent that we see in America and how much the police are doing, Ellis and the bottom line Mike is we We all know that, for the most part dilemmas, black lives matter and that movement, we understand it. We get it and do I support police? Do I believe that 99% Plaza the cops in this country of public servants that are keeping their community is safe? That risk their lives on many occasions for us, I do and I support police. I think the bulk of the cops are great individuals that do a good job and they serve and protect. And you have some bad cops out there that need to be weeded out of the various departments that have bad cops. And that's up to other police officers to recognize who the bad apples are. You got bad apples in all walks of life, but, uh, like I still take your call is a bit facetious on a different note. Before I let you roll. I was just through Charlotte. Ah, couple of weeks ago, coming back from trying to think I guess was on the return trip was going down or coming back, I guess was going back from Florida to New York. We drove through Charlotte both ways because we're stopping in the mountains of Virginia to see my kids. And dogs. We stopped at noble smoke. Do you know where that is? I know you don't have to speak about it many times in the air. Yeah, no nobles. That's a great barbecue place And you know, we socially distance We took out We ate outside. They had a huge patio area and we ate. We weren't within 100 feet of people where we ate. There was just a A good place, Mike. Thanks for the call. I appreciate it. And, Yeah, I think it's a little bit of a wise ass there, but the blue lives matter. They do. The bulk of the cops that servant protect and keep us the bottom line. All those idiots that are calling for the abolishment of police departments de funding the cops. The folks. I told the story. There's a teenage girl that lives in the brownstone next to ours, And during the protest, she was leaning out of the third storey window of the brownstone next to us on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, and she was screaming out the window defund the police defunded. What is wrong with you, You idiot! If your house was broken into if you were raped, God forbid, or you were the victim of a violent.

"And we're back I have that article by the way, Dr Betty, it's inevitable, aspartame dementia and White House will worsen, this article that Stephen flex together op at news. And he put it together poisoning symptoms. According to the FDA, aspartame, carcinogen aspartame causing birth defects etcetera Stephen FOX from mission. Possible New Mexico. That's is people need understand. What's going on here is pretty damned? And the powers of beer, not ignorant, their devilish the evil. They they'll stuff. In fact, when aspartame was first being improved. They already knew it was dangerous day, and then proceeded anyway, didn't they? Well, actually, you know, back then, you know, they call it the owed FDA in the new FBI back, then the FDA, which is heroes. They first tried to indic- PD's thorough for fraud. And then they set up task force and this force it that you couldn't accept anything that they said. Lot of the things that kept out the task force was so strong against aspertain that GD Searle, actually filed suit and order to get them to take it away from public view about the task force. So nobody would ever read it and the judge had agreed with it. I mean this is just how bad things are. Then they were both the petition for approval. So they did everything they could to stop it and brings up a very good point. Because valley dark only got so upset he says, okay enough of this fraud bring you do studies in my, my app, so I can watch it and, and what he found out was that asks game caused the bad brain damaged, and he thought. That it wouldn't therefore be approved and I'm not sure how much he knew about runs field. But what happened was the Searle never submitted those studies to the FDA Oni said within after it was all over Trump seal got his way and it's now called fields play. The FDA said, look, one thing, we do, we will make sure that no child ever gets ascertain in their mouth ever. And then they started putting it in things even like Tampa. And one of the articles, I sent you was titled or artificial sweeteners, putting kids at risk. Brad's mma. Dr Roberts book. It says as Jane is escalating as MMA. But the worst thing is they're putting it in the drugs that are used for as like seeing you. And I've had mother after mother, call me and say, what do I do to fund the doctor somebody who can get help for my child from drug that does not have aspertain in it? And that's what's happening. That is so bad. Why people are so sick because it's going to interact with their drugs. And so you just have stay away from them as the only way. And you heard what Stephen was saying about the vaccine. So you've got the vaccines that are causing all kids and incidentally, one of the videos asset you had the label showing all the diseases that the vaccine could cause and listening to some sort of congress, and they were designed the very things that the manufacturer had said. Sales and this is really insane. So the two didn't get autism from vaccines, and they can get autism from as Dame. And I've sent you in the past the last chapter in Dr money's book, science fleets sweetener kills a whole chapter on how aspertain causes autism in children. And it's a, it's a horrible horrible thing. Jamie, twenty fifth twenty twelve call aspartame soda poison for your kids, right? They boarded up today. Republished it, and it's a very strong article because it's just destroying the brains of our children. So that, that talk to one student. She said people in school or weird doing crazy things. And it reminds me of the fact that a doctor called me from his Dominican Republic. And this is in Dr Roberts, medical Texas for danger seasoning door epidemic. Epidemic where he took. Three hundred and sixty tool grin and change their died off of milk, 'cause they don't that the children become bed, and put them on aspartame fruit chews and almost all of them had reactions. And that's when he called me and. About it. And I said, well, we're good to get them off of it and called me back the next week. And he said, four days after would they all reverted back to normal. You know, so nobody in their right man would do it study on children Nance for Jane, the harm them like that. But done in ehre. It just shows you why there's, you know, having so many behavioral problems. And of course, the last Jedi shows the pleadings tone seventy seventy four percent. That's really insane. So now you know, we need to help President Trump. Network cellphones and smart meters. And so Naro also go talks with by phosphates attached and divide infraction. Week, Luton and other pesticides, for example, when they sprayed for Zeke of iris what I discovered his Zeke averse wasn't causing the microcephaly in Brazil, it was the pesticides respraying in the areas. It's out the viruses, spread. So the pesticides were causing microcephaly. This really bad, isn't it? Yeah. Linda, which I found our website, still being the sucralose being so as insecticide that, and it was developed and insecticide researcher dR, change phones, you You know. know. You know, they're going to keep the reactions retain and pick up those from the sucralose as got all this pouring in it. So your rights from so many different toxins, and GMO, and all these different things, you, you know, you wonder just how long can humanity exist. Being done. You know, remember they used to say put a put a four connect- or put one.

"Of it's not working. Even right now. I'm not sure what's going on. I have a feeling that it just like when we had last Friday, we had one of our guys calling Stephen FOX was going to give information dollars Staller who's been sanctioned by the city of San Francisco forgiving vaccine waivers in his calls were block fourteen calls in one hour. So nobody can call into my call in line because the Intel states in the cyber state is terrified that people like you and I get together to promote what you're doing to bring force truth, because when I put my blessing on what your films are, and what you're talking about. It means it's makes much more powerful. The people say there's two witnesses coming. Forward with the truth. You know I come forward as a witness like motion, and you come forward, witless Elijah, we're telling the people get repaired and vowed down and get on your on your knees, but on your face before the most side, God, because the days of trouble are coming. And if you're not properly prepared, you'll be deceived, by this system that's come in grey quickly. And unfortunately you know this channels, you mentioned in the United Nations in the slaughterhouse grounds near city, we're basically there. We're at the point now where this the attacks against Trump, for example, or a good example, even the guy's not a full full of Christian yet. He's a well intentioned, why it had squared scribes rate Mason, as coming against the new order both left and the right and others a form of godliness, but there's something very art behind us. The trying to push into ward, creating a situation that eventually caused great deception, and that's where we gotta get suited Trump. We have to actually have I call Samuel council. So what under major things, did you kind of explain this film? Giving to degrade secrets people purchase film and actually watch it. And these are some other great.

"The worst. Now, it's not will they are won't they they will. And they do in the pilot. The question five seasons later is will these commitment averse missing throats, go through with the wedding. They spent the final season planning. Stephen Falk is the creator of your the worst which got its start on FX before moving to sister network ethic sex in season two while the series has never been a ratings hit. It's developed a cult following among critics and fans who have fallen hard for Jimmy and Gretchen and their friends one of those worst dis as the shows fans are known is the Hollywood reporter's west coast TV editor Lesley Goldberg. She recently sat down with Faulk to talk about the bumpy road. That led to the making of you're the worst which just wrapped its fifth and final season. They started at the beginning. Which for Falk was the glamorous world of writing TV recaps was it always goal for you to shift from writing about television to writing for television. I don't know what the goal was. I moved out here to act. I went to NYU. Yeah. I got my. My BFA in acting. So I was like temping, and I had like my own blog. And then I started writing recaps for mighty big TV which became television without pity. And I started writing movies, and I sold a screenplay maybe in two thousand two and I think I knew I wanted to do TV or maybe I was already dipping my toe because I only started then only recapping reality television, which is pretty sure I never wanted to get into. So then how how did you make that transition? Like, what was it that got you permanently writing fulltime and not recapping I know when I sold that movie was very wasn't for a lot of money, but that allowed me to not have to go to a day job anymore. But it sort of weird thing is that I had to borrow money from my mom because you know, the checks come in and mmediately, and then it didn't get made. So I was just kind of sitting there. But my agent at became w which was a boutique that then got bought by ICM. That's where I was. At the time and a young TV agent was like do on TV, and I was like a Shuar and back then when you were a feature writer, you could just do TV TV was very much the afterthought. So my first TV thing was I wrote a really kind of weird little indie spec movie about a friend who get into an orgy and David Nevins read it David Devon suit is now running Showtime. Everything's the free world or the time. All he was doing was running imagine television and Friday night lights and the rest of development, and he called me. It was like, hey, you wanna do TV? I was like, okay. He was like bring you some ideas. So I came back a couple of weeks later with this idea. And we went and told it to FOX never got made that was the first then of about I would say nine pilots in all different genres half hour hour for all different networks that I sold and wrote and never got shot. I think around my ninth pilot. I decided I should probably actually figure out how to make TV if any of these ever go. And so that's when I got stuffed on weeds. Right. So in the middle of doing weeds developed a show called next caller. I developed a show called satellites originally called satellites that it took place at basically, Sirius XM satellite radio company of which there was only one. I I grew up loving WBRC in Cincinnati. And so this was a way good. Yeah. And this is why you could tell us a show about just a nice workplace comedy. But you had instead of one radio station you had all the radio stations. You had all the John rose. And if you walk through those offices, you have the NFL channel next to the gay channel out Q next to Martha Stewart next to Catholic radio. It's just as weird amalgamation, and it's a wide range of people. And I thought that'd be a good setting for show and NBC. Agreed. So with Lionsgate I wrote that. That and they picked it up to pilot during the eighth season last season of weeds, and you move from LA to New York for the show when it was picked up to series. Guess what happened next just to give it a little context, we shot the pilot in L A, and then they picked it up to midseason six, which is you know, sort of the lowest commitment you can give. It's like, yeah. Date you, but I'm not going away any other phone numbers. It's basically to air in January, which is typically less rewatch month all year. Yeah. And only six so and they picked up seven comedies that year. And I think a couple of them were midseason. Spoiler alert. None of those seven shows made it past the first season. I think that was the year that NBC started from scratch with its entire commie brand. So I did the pilot. They picked it up midseason sakes. And for me, it was going to be in New York for the tax credits. I wrote the hundredth episode of we was the second to last episode, and that was filming while I was driving my family, which was my girlfriend and dog out to New York taking calls from like, Mary Louise onset. So it's kind of like semi producing hundreds episode of while I was driving to New York we rebuilt the massive set. We had built here in L A. I mean normally pilots they don't like to build a sex. That's a lot of you know, outlay money. Yeah. But you can't recreate what's yours XM looks like it's just not you don't see it in any radio station. So we built it trucked it on like ten flatbeds out to New York rebuilt it with slight Ma. Modifications at a great expense to Lionsgate NBC assembled the writer's room the cast moved out. We started shooting. We shot our fourth episode. And then I got a call from. I believe it was Kevin bags from Lionsgate. You said. Embassy just pulled the plug which is not something that you hear on a show. That's already been picked up to series that's more than halfway through its production. Correct. What came next is? This is where I I learned who you were you wrote an essay, titled advice to young TV writers. But really what happened to my NBC show. Can you read a little bit of that? Sure us again to give a little context. So so they cancelled the show we could move back because we have several at our house, and we just sat in New York being fired. And then hurricane sandy hit. And we are in the Lower East Side. So we had no power for five days. And then I had to drive back because I don't put my dog in cargo my girlfriend had already flown out with the cat. So this is me and my dog in a motel room and Arizona, slowly driving back to is the word ignominies, I think ignominious failure. So I'm drunk. I think I'm eating Taco Bell. I decided to try to get in front of the story, but explain a little bit from my side. You know, what happened? Hey, you aspiring TV writers? It's a hard job to crack into. But if you're good enough and driven enough it'll happen for you. Don't give up for if you work hard enough some day YouTube may work on your own show for a year for the triumph of being picked up to series, the golden ticket, then you might move across the country to actually make the show higher one hundred actors and writers and crew members and then the middle of editing. The fourth episode get your show abruptly cancelled via late night Friday phone, call from Los Angeles. Then the fun part you get to personally, call all the actors and writers and crude inform them that. They no longer have a job. Sorry. You don't have a show anymore. Twenty minutes ago. It was what took up seventeen hours of your day. It literally doesn't exist anymore. The frozen people of Suva's had more warning than you did tomorrow. I will drive through the rest of Arizona and California and try to figure out what's next. Ironically, have another pilot NBC that I wrote with my old weeds boss gingy Cohen. That is still in the mix. Spoiler alert. It will not go forward and an old Showtime pilot. I wrote the suddenly five years later. Has new life. It didn't have new life. But the future is for the first time in many years completely open and terrifying. I mean, what kind of feedback? Did you get to this post probably four days later after I've been back in LA? I started getting Google alerts for my name, and I was terrified. I was afraid of what the reaction would be that. I was giving my failure more attention than I really wanted it to have. But what I did realize in it being picked up everywhere. And then Jen Psaki having to sort of do a response article later, I think in Hollywood reporter called one show renters attack about the fact, which I learned at that moment. And I think she may be learned to that moment. And a lot of the town learned is that they no longer hold the PR gun. They no longer have the exclusive ability to spin what happened. It was dawning on them that a reporter could as easily pick up and write a story about a tweet that. That Josh Friedman writes about what happened to snow piercer, then what Kevin Reilly puts out through the TNT press. And I found that incredibly liberating to me that the strength of that essay is your suddenly on my radar. You had no show. But I knew who you were cut to a couple of years later, you're the worst comes out on FX. So how much did that experience and that blog post, and what happened on next caller lead to what became you're the worst? It really came out of a couple of things he came out of that experience of really bending over not only backwards, but like sideways than standing on your head to please a network that really didn't want the show that you had sold them. And certainly didn't know then what show they did want. So it was out of that frustration at really really trying to be accommodating and it. Still getting that. I just said all right next thing. I'm gonna do. I'm just going to write what I want. The second thing that it came out of was my love of romantic comedies. My feeling that Jon Rao was really tired particularly in movies. It was really a movie sort of John rea- always having loved mad about you loving British sitcoms thinking a boost British easy cable version of mad about you where the characters didn't have to be likable 'cause I was really envious a lot of British shows the characters did behaved in ways that were really really important. And I wanted that I wanted that for my character, so bad and also it came out of having been divorced and really kind of thinking I had found that thing. And then it not working out much in the same way. The next call it didn't work out. So came out of twin failures coming up after a short break. Stephen FOX talks about the possibility of a year. The worst spinoff and shares his. Thoughts on the battle between the writers guild and the agencies. You're listening to.
