Have you prepared the you know the the uplifting music and the montage of clips throughout the years armenian we. We're doing as much as we can to uplift people with this episode. The bells and whistles. That's true that's true. And in classic optimism vaccine fashion. We all allow. People have really had a positive response to the kind of things that we've been doing lately. So what if we did the opposite. You know maybe a little swerve. We'll throw a little swerve. So that's what we're gonna do. Maybe maybe maybe. I'll be surprised. People love this. I don't know if they watch it. They'll love it go watch. Yeah we gotta we gotta tune in. That's listening to us is one thing but watching the movies. That's what really matters. Jake i will say. I just watched three stewart paul movies and now my can't has really bad diarrhea. A what should i do. Have a panel steve but healing advice. I can offer and this goes for you listeners. At home especially if you're driving a car close your eyes and you can imagine like you're flying steve for your problem by the way just go outside and find the nearest almost man can touch. My cats irritated red bottle. It's a great idea. And jack i was trying to fix my cats tummy trouble so i went to the pet store and bought some over the counter. Make your cat stop. Pooping so much medicine. And wouldn't you know given a cab medicine. That's not fun. And i scored it a bunch of cad diarrhea medicine into my i. D do you know. How much cad diarrhea medicine. You should get in your i. I'm guessing listen. You go yes. That's the correct amount is less than whatever i squirted directly to my eye. Baugh steve. I have a solution for your eye. Problem just go outside and find the nearest homeless person as a good idea. I on the other hand. My is our shitting anymore. So that's something. I was gonna ask if your vision is feeling strangely. Backed up anyway. Zoli shed its soda one degrees and for those of us holding on from choi hawk mark by the way from acclaimed hong kong directors to. What's wrong with steve's cats. But let's take the second year state of the union four episodes johnny to- criterion released join our episodes enjoy all today tyrian announce releasing so i think exciting times in tyrian world. Yeah that's that's all. I can think of to like you know it's it's almost like we have the powers of leg of a savior like figure year uses. Yeah i would say that could restore the great loss film here. But fortunately for criterion stewart paul's already done the heavy lifting on that front so really they just slap some boxer to go. Oh my god. Yeah mr criterion is our biggest fans. So i'll be ready for this body. I like to see the twitter clue. Fucking deadly let's statute the dick those of you. Who don't know if you just tuned in and you saw the title and you're like who. The fox is stuart paul. What what is this. Is this another acclaimed. World cinema master. That aware of innocence. Yes maybe i don't know in some circles. Possibly stewart pau is a writer and actor. He's a directories a producer. And you may actually know. And by no i mean you've heard of some of his stuff. You may be familiar with his brother. Stephen paul have you ever seen baby geniuses. No probably not. Maybe you saw funny internet name. And you're like ha ha the smart baby movie that everybody hates. And then there's the sequel and everybody hates that one more. That was stephen paul. Now if you go back through. Stephen paul's career it is. It's just a long long list of things that you've heard of but probably don't like very much. Is that a. Is that an accurate way of describing. Stephen ball's career y'all odd say i things that were presumably somewhat expensive sometimes but on a licenses that must have cost some some to to obtain but seemingly would not have made any money like he has most prominently all outside of baby geniuses or done the nicholas cage ghost rider films. He produced those as well as the ghost in the shell Film and the film. Great reminder that there was a brats foam thank you again that could have possibly made more than ten million dollars absolutely not so i was like every one of these worries that we mentioned massive loss money but i don't. I saw both the ghost rider movies. And i'm doing my part. I don't know. I saw the second one in the theater. I guess i. I the aim them. Both they both are bad films. I that's a commonality says you know what it reminds me. i did actually talk onery spencer. Real riemann power move. I'm not mistaken. One of the brats is in the first film about Why this is probably a relative of stewart. Stephen paul gonna take a wild stab. Seems likely so. Okay so stephen. Paul famed producer. Stuart paul Starving artist brother. Who's trying to make things work. You've got a guy who's produced. Apparently movies made money and he's got a little cash to throw around and he's basically bankrolling his brother stuart now. Of course these are not self made men in the traditional. Yeah i was gonna say steve. I might take issue with that. Are we should briefly. Explain that we are covering this because deadly lessons. The first film talk about here is the film that we uncovered our certainly not the first to be gathering a bit of pulse team. I think if you're into midnight movies garbage films a seek this out. I feel like stewart. Paul might be one of the next big up and comers on the cult so the scene newly prolific for some reason as well but yet he predates so many beloved people. Right yeah but we. We found him on cost to contact. We watch deadly lessons and we decided we needed to to bring it to the table here. Yeah deserves a bigger audience. This is like if you gave neil breen avatar money raising we were. We were pondering when we watch was. How does any of this happen again. It doesn't look by looking at stephen paul's catalog. It doesn't seem like he could possibly be making money like these. He's losing money over and over again is produced dozens of films almost none of which stick out as a potential financial windfall. And we you know one of the first things we go to cost content is that is some sort of money. Laundering scheme is that always seems like a good for step on content. why anything exists..

"Me when i'm talking to you. Need to listen to your advocate. He's protecting you from me. Because in his heart deep down at the bottom of his soul he knows. I'm the one eyed the man. Hey you look at me. When i'm talking to you or we could straighten this out. Imagine someone walking brought leser a you look at me while i'm talking to you and having the balls to pull that off like you're saying he was the one at that time who you believed my actually do this because he believed he might actually do this. I mean he believed he was gonna do it right. That's the thing with. Joe is conviction complete an utter conviction. He is so certain of everywhere that comes out of his mouth or eventually he got hurt. He did have an injury history coming in and those got the better of him during his time there. But they transitioned him to commentary and immediately became the commentator the best color commentator that they had available and they have they have some good ones. Beth phoenix very very good. Even even corey graves for a time was good at it but samoa joe just again. He believe everything he say. He comes from a place of authority so the things he tells you. He's educating you as you watch. He's just one of those guys who makes everything that he touches. Better including commentary equity including how house. Wendy doolan now. It feels like this version of samoa. Joe is being set up to be the guy who takes belt off of carrying cross. Now that's my gut reaction seeing that is he's not going to be able to touch carrying cross. It's gonna take a long time. And and the blow of the storyline will be william regal firing him so that he can and attack carrying cross wrestle him. That feels like i just it watching it. I was like oh. That's where this ends. I see the end of the story right now. Right here am. I am item my mind i want it now that you said it i i'd be fine with it. The this is the magical thing about the story line. It feels like we are at the beginning of a very cool. I don't play chess but like we're a very cool chess game where could go in. So many believe directions and all of them are good like he could be carrying cross and then vacate. The how great would it be if he took the title of cross and then was like. I don't even want this. I can't eating wrestle. But i just i had to take the offer you and then vacated and even that would be amazing and you just send carrying cross up up and away like a fucking jellicoe cat like not even to the main roster just put them in a balloon and setting him up to the sun but get him out my next he is. He doesn't belong there But i do. I genuinely think they could do so many fantastic things with them all of them involved taking the title off carry across well well before we wrap the segment up. We asked you the nation conversation. What you thought about show here. A few of your comments. Stephen ball said the joe laid the groundwork wrestling today with matches against guys like punk. Christopher daniels and others certainly helped usher in the is was one of the forefathers of the modern style of wrestling that we see today he was out there doing it than the x division kind of hard to argue with that and then david on twitter should a great story about a time where he was actually undergoing chemotherapy and had to miss a local show. That joe is going to be on but then thanks to one of his friends. Joe actually called him up to chat and signed an eight by ten photo for him. Now it's one thing to do the signed photo but to actually take the time to call and say hello. That tells you a lot that despite who who the side of samoa joe that we see as a performer that he is a kind decent human being and not only that but where was that local show where was that local show token place. It was in the message that local show was taking place in donka. It wasn't donnie. So we have actual final confirmation. That samoa joe is the hardest mound in doncaster. He's the cock of the walk. These the coca donnie. He's gonna take karen cross down. Yeah take that. Batman let us know what you thought about samoa joe on all our social media networks via the links in our show notes and when we come back we've got three things from the world wrestling that you should know about. That's up next on.

"Don't know. I don't know if we're gonna be able to solve this mystery but want to put it out there. Here we go. This celebrity offspring of a barely their celebrity is going to talk about her relationship with the disgrace, Pastor and it won't be pretty. So obviously the disgrace. Pastor is Carlin's So we don't know who the celebrity offspring of a barely their celebrity or celebrity? No, but I suppose what we could do is think about all the celebrities who have been involved with O Yeah. Hailey Baldwin. It could be I was going to say, Wouldn't it be Hailey Baldwin? Because Stephen Vault? That's her dad. Right, Stephen Ball, right? Yeah. So I said barely barrier. Yeah, that is a good guess. Think we should go with that? Okay? Because were there other people mentioned in that in the comments? No. This is a hot and fresh blind item. Anti lawyers a little tardy to the party with the blind items these days, So sometimes we just got to take him straight from the wire. Okay, well, we need to have a conversation with him and ask him if he can post some earlier for us in central time, So please be mindful of this. Now I will say that it probably could very well be Hailey Baldwin. One because she is an offspring of a barely their celebrity. She is offspring of a Baldwin. I don't even remember which one semen Steven s. So he's barely there. Also, The news yesterday was that Hailey Baldwin Unfollowed Carlin's on Instagram. Yeah, I was going to say we just talked about her in the context of him. So if she is like publicly on following him, it would not. Stretch the imagination to believe that she might come forward and speak out against him. I just feel like again. There's so much more that we don't know about this story like it cannot to be. And I'm saying just in quotes, but It cannot be just about the cheating allegations or those stories. There's got to be more or can we at least say that even if it is about the cheating, maybe the cheating is the story And by that, I mean, it's not just one. But maybe it's like a Yeah, you know, not Jeffrey Epstein per se, but maybe, like more like a Harvey want well, but I don't want to imply that there was anything against one's will. But like, maybe it was a serial cheating thing again. I just have to believe that there are other women who are going to come forward and maybe it's the magnitude of this scale. That will call him out. I wholeheartedly agree with that. Because we, you know the reason. Okay, Here's a good plug. The reason we know that this is very likely coming is because we have been doing this for almost nearly a decade. And we've seen this happen 100 times before and by the way that has led us to cut our very own podcast of which you can download the first episode. And my right, Colleen, you are absolutely correct. The name of the podcast is go deep in the shallow and you can get it wherever you get. Your podcasts are first episode we go real deep in the shallow that is People magazine. But again, you can stick with us because you know, we have been day in and day out for a full decade, resting our eyeballs on stories about celebrities and having a lot of questions about the stories that are being told to us and what we're not being told. And how we're being told the things we are being told. So let us tell you about about telling me And you see what? See? But please, really listen to it subscribed to it and review it. Please. Really quickly Can I just mention that yesterday we gave a little plug for a new podcast on twin cities live. So go watch that. I think we'll have video of that to post on our social media soon, So if you want to see us being boobs on TV But did you notice how Steve like wouldn't even say the title of our first pipe last episode? What's funny, can you can you say? Of course. Yeah. People magazine. Yeah. Is a big fat scam. He wouldn't say it. Well, No, because he has friends that work for people and we were like, Steve, Look here. Here's the deal. He said that I mean, I mean, it's a job right? Like they do work. It's just that what what you know of People magazine. Right, like the old version of People magazine that would tell you like six celebrity stories. And then a story about a baby in a well be like Loni Anderson inside or her Beverly has a state and sparkly closet. That is no longer what people magazine is People magazine. Oh, and guess what. Oh, and guess. What I am going to have an example of this When we come back. I'm the calling and Bradley shelf timing. It's like we almost plan is like we planned it. We actually did not. But we are going to do a little population ship update a moment with Jonas and Haig After this on my talk one of 71 Have you heard Donna and Steve lately? Check out this highlight. Poaching.

"Lives of the mind explores the passions and pursuits of quad citizens who live their lives by their interests through meaningful conversations that cultivate curiosity and encourage lifelong learning. Hello I'm Christian Elliott and joining me and we've yet caves emptier than usual studio. Today is Augustina colleges own. President Stephen Balls. The college's eighth president balls joined Augustan in two thousand three. He has written extensively about a wide range of higher education topics from shared governance to teaching. Financial Literacy. He holds regular open office hours often in the brew by the slew. The Coffee House in August Dana's Center for Student Life. Most evenings and weekends. You'll find him at Augustan has music cultural and athletic events president balls. Thank you for speaking with me today. Well thank you Christian for inviting me. I've been looking forward to this. I'm sorry we have to social distance during this interview. Yes we're six feet apart here in the studio so just to start off. I'm going to ask you to think way back to two thousand and three. You've been a corporate lawyer than an associate professor at the University of Montana and then Dean at Capital University Law School. What brought Utah Augustan in the first place well? I was contacted by Brenda Barns. Who was then chair of the Augustan aboard? She was the retired president of Pepsico and soon to be president of Sara Lee and she had asked me whether I would be interested in serving August Danish. And you I had Iowa Illinois routes and would I be interested in making the next career move. I told her I'll have to think about it. I enjoy being law school dean but she was persistent and encouraged me to apply to August. Santa when I visited campus. I fell in love with it. I think a lot of students feel the same way when they first visit. It's pretty magical. Isn't it so you've been with Augustina for seventeen years now? What are some of the biggest changes you've seen during that time in both the campus and the student body and we'll there have been significant changes and these changes have not been so much due to my efforts but due to the team's effort I think one of the bigger changes of course is that we're a much more diverse campus than we were seventeen years ago particularly with respect to student body? And we have a lot to be proud of their that. We're starting to reflect America a bit more. We've not arrived yet. There's much more to do in terms of a diversity equity and inclusion at August. Stand up. But we've taken the first big steps in my judgment. A certainly the interest in international programs. Augie choice the number of international students so we become a much more active Campus When I came here I was told that August. Stana is a community of doers. Not of spectators. I think that's even more so seventeen years later. Yeah and then looking back. Were a few achievements that you feel most proud of has president of the college over these last seventeen years. I certainly feel proud of several things. I mentioned the diversity equity and inclusion the accomplishments of the student body. I'm particularly proud that the faculty and staff work together to increase the percentage of students. That have internships so within the community. I'm proud of the increasing percentage of students who study abroad. I'm proud of the efforts of faculty to really engage in deep research with our students. Think we very much move to the next level of teaching Augustan which has been very good. But it's a very active teaching and recognizes that a lot of the accomplishments of our students are facilitated outside of the classroom in research projects internships and international experiences. So this is finals week into finals. Week at Augustina at the end of the colleges I ever spring semester. So it's been a really strange term for all of us at the college. Of course I didn't expect to finish my senior year online and no one else did either. So that said all of my professors and fellow students have done a great job adapting helping one another through this really unprecedented situation. I think and I think we've seen the Augustan community come together like never before last few weeks so obviously you have been involved with the response to the covid nineteen pandemic since the very beginning in early March. When we students received the first email from that new covid nineteen info email address informing us that spring break would start early and then a week later with the news. That classes would be moving to distance learning so for listeners. Could you take us inside those early days of the colleges decision making and tell us a little bit about what the principals were? They guided you and your cabinet and the rest of the Augustina Faculty and staff in Planning Augustinas response. Well that's a very good question and I'd like to reflect with you for a few moments on what the Cabinet Faculty talked about during that that time period as as as you know in late February early March the Cova crisis came home in the United States. And the question is how do we react to it? So he formed a broad-based task force to look at what our response might be the guiding principles From the get-go were safety was a primary consideration Safety of students but safety of faculty and staff to many of our faculty and staff members or older and at risk categories likewise. We wanted to have creative responses to the crisis. We didn't necessarily want to follow the pack. We didn't want to overreact. But how can we preserve as much of the student experiences as possible? It was clear fairly early on that. We're GONNA take a financial hit on this and we determined that while the financial stability of Augustan is important. We wanted to invest everything we could in our students to make sure that the experience was an outstanding experience so as the news came in we also decided that there were going to be many opinions on what we should do. And what we shouldn't do some of those opinions might be more informed than others so we work very carefully to determine that we would act in accordance with recommendations a public health officials. We would neither jump the gun. Try to guess what they were going to do. Nor would we lag? Second Guess After? They told us what the guidance is. So we relied on the CDC but fairly heavily on local health officials particularly Dr Katz from Davenport who is an expert certainly in the infectious disease. A area and steps were taken hand in hand with Public Health Likewise Diane Griffin who is a member of the Augustan of College Board is in the Public Health Department at Johns Hopkins University He's a faculty member there. And as you may know Johns Hopkins University has been one of the leaders in helping our nation through this so we've tried to rely on the expertise of others now. Our responses you recognize was a was a rolling response in a somewhat cautious response. Let's extend spring break to make sure that if we have to go online education were ready but let us not make the determination to cancel classes until we determine that. That's what public health officials suggest. So it has been a bit of a rolling decision making process. I'm an attorney in my first life and I always like to say let's not make decisions too late or too early. Let's make decisions promptly when the facts are in evidence so we delayed in making some decisions until we heard recommendations from public health. Yes so speaking of those decisions like the big milestone decisions Extending spring break moving classes online For the rest of the semester. Can you tell us a little bit more about how those decisions came about and what they were for the college? So those decisions came about in consultation with our executive team of the vice presidents. And that's known as the president's cabinet but in consultation with the leaders of the faculty also so the governance of August Stana is that the administration makes the administrative decisions. The faculty makes the academic decisions. This is a blending to cancel. Live classes is a pretty big deal. So we Have engaged in his. You've observed were kind of a high point August Stana. In working together cooperation. We had worked hard on shared governance. So the confidence of the faculty in the administration and vice versa. So those decisions were jointly made. Those were tough decisions. There were some sleepless nights on my part. Imagine you know telling the students that we're going to interrupt the best part of your college career. Which typically is the month leading up to to graduation right. Is there any way around it? But in fact we got to the point where there wasn't much of a choice Public Health officials said. This is what we need to do for student safety and we had adopted these principles. Right students safety comes first as well as employee safety. Yeah at one point earlier actually attended a virtual meeting of the President's Student Advisory Council early on those students were actually involved to some extent. Also I think you asked us whether we would prefer to have graduation in the summer of possible or homecoming week so I think we all appreciated that to Christian. We appreciate that. Some of this is listening to others. Also there's not a playbook for presidents on how to handle a crisis like this we had modeled in prepared for virtually every crisis that I can think of. We had not modeled in prepared for this. We had not modeled in prepared for a crisis. Where almost overnight our strength became our weakness face to face contact living together working together doing things in big groups so to the extent that I didn't have a playbook it was important for me to rely on others to rely on the experience of students to rely on faculty what works what doesn't work and have a cabinet. That's not afraid to challenge my thinking. Yes so speaking of others. There were obviously a lot of other people working with you. Either behind the scenes or not as the situation has played out over the last few weeks and month who have been some of the key unsung heroes of the college response to Covid nineteen. Well I think the Unsung heroes of the colleges response. In many cases have been are a staff staff that have come into to work during the early days of this response when everyone else was staying home. Food Service staff you know. I walk the campus virtually every evening. It's a quiet a campus to say hi to our international students that are here from a safe distance and then our employees that are working people like security. You know when everyone else's home yet they. They're doing the rounds in these buildings. I'm found talking to Papa. Jeff you know Jeff from security. Who cares deeply about our students while there are hundreds Apopka Jeff said Augustina College mid care deeply about our students. The other unsung heroes. Clearly are the faculty here. It was a heavy lift to convert live classes online classes. Had We said in September of last year that we are going to go next year into twenty percent online classes? The response would have been impossible. They did it within two weeks. We will forever be indebted to this group of faculty at Augustan of College. That have gotten us through these historic times So looking ahead students might be might be curious. The school I know got cares. Act Funding Are there any big concerns financially? Looking forward with the colleges responser you in pretty good shape colleges in good financial shape. We have worked hard over the last years to build up the financial reserves of the college. This being said of the Cova crisis is going to have a significant impact on August College. We refunded all room and board. Not every school has done that. I think it was important to do that. And we're anticipating that. Our students next year may need more financial aid fact. Many families will we expect relatively high unemployment rate to go into the fall and for those students impacted? We have some special programs so yes. This will have a significant impact on August Danna College. We build up reserves of for this impact but we will be depleting a some of these reserves and we will be cutting expenses in some areas. I've taken a twenty percent salary. Decrease. We've cut back on retirement. Plan contributions of for our staff. So it's kind of a shared a sacrifice among everyone as we make sure that our expenses next year have some relationship to what we think are diminished. Revenues will be that being said there are reserves of the college but the Reserve only lasted so long share. Yes so so one thing that still seems to be up in the air for all colleges is reopening in the fall and what classes will look like then for students who have just chosen August and enter and are coming and the students who are returning. So what can you tell us about? Augustinas plans For next academic year as they stand now at least well a month ago. I would've said I don't know there's too much up in the air. Believe it or not. Things are starting to firm up a bit by this. I mean the Center for Disease Control issued guidance for colleges earlier this week on opening there have been national organizations that have best practices. So we're working our way. Through best practices here are preliminary determination. Is that we believe with significant certainty that we can in fact bring our students back in live learning all in accordance with best practices now There will be some changes Certainly we may be wearing masks at August Anna College next fall. We may be requiring a social distancing. We may not be able to use those small seminar rooms and have to have expanded hours to have classes in larger rooms. So I think you'll see some changes at Augustina. Certainly how we do. Athletics Squad sizes whether we postpone shortened seasons..

I just looked at me during the segment break. And she was like, oh my gosh, Stephen ball and just follow us on Twitter. And I'm like, isn't it weird that, that his daughter is married to Justin Bieber? And she was like weights. That's his daughter. And I said, yes, Haley Baldwin was like Haley Baldwin, but I. That was a relation 'cause she's like member that movie threesome was so great. I love that movie with Stephen Baldwin and was like I like three sons a movie. This is what happens during segment breaks. But yeah, Stephen Baldwin's daughter is Hailey Baldwin, and she is married to Justin Bieber. So basically Justin bieber's following us on Twitter. Essentially, that's what's happening. That's what's happening. It's kind of like when Eric Trump DM's me I'm like, I'm like the president is following, right. "Down. I'm here with my wife. Karen, where the host of the what are we even doing here podcast? The podcast is seeks the answer. The question that we all ask, what are even doing here? We cover topics such as marriage family life, and living Christian life in this crazy world. We don't have all the answers, but we know where to look on tunes and follow us on soundcloud, as we seek the kingdom of God and find out what we are even doing here. Piece. All right, everyone, welcome to the fossils podcast is James were still here, speaking on these threads that are based upon the abortion law that passed in Alabama, we've already went over one and now we're moving into one that her comments on a comment that Steven ball when a Hollywood Agar made in a want us to move right into the first one, the first comment that Iran upon in response to Stephen ball wants quote reads this quote. That sounds super religious people love to come up with different ways to judge. But God made it very clear. He was in favour of free will even though he doesn't love our decisions, and my plan isn't better than God's. I am a Christian. And while abortion, isn't for me a support women being able to make that decision for themselves in quotes Boyle, boy, we come up with a different way to judge. Are you judging that others are judging is? So you have just come up with a way to judge this would be by definition a hypocr. God made it clear that he was in favour of free will know come here we go. This is ignorance that is within the church. The idea of libertarian free will is the presupposition much most within the church. God is in favor of free will own the two that had true free will fell in the garden of Eden. Now, we are all fallen in atom. That's first Corinthians chapter. Fifteen verse twenty two and this idea of free will is really and truly a pagan concept according to God just look in Romans chapter sits alone. We are all slaves. We are either enslaved to sin, as natural fallen people. Or we are slaves to righteousness as born again, believers who have played their faith won't in Christ alone. The will is free and so much to do. What is within our nature to do? So it's a matter of what are you a slave to if you're listening to this podcast? Please consider that question now this person goes on to say that while. While abortion, isn't for me. I support women being able to make the decision for themselves. Did she just say earlier in the comment and her flawed theological system that God doesn't love our decisions? If you say abortion isn't for you. Okay. Here's the thing. If you say abortion isn't for you. There's a conviction there in your mind. It is wrong to some degree. You know, it's wrong because this written on your what heart. But if God doesn't love this decision while, how would you advocate claiming the banner of Christianity? Why would you advocate for women to have the choice to do what God hates? This is either ignorance or someone who is not born again, and I will not make judgement upon her salvation, but man is argumentation super flown. The next come on pretty excited about because it allows me to hit up that priests up. Yeah, I love presupposition apologetic, so let's move. And so quote, quote, I'm not religious, even though I was raised in the church, but I have always been anti. Abortion and that has nothing to do with a biblical standpoint. It is simple, science and clear. Morals and ethics as well as a respect for humanity. And the humane treatment of individuals who have been created by no choice or fault of their own, and who have no voice, and I don't think you have to be a Christian to possess those. Okay. So this person is showing the image of God at every single turn you are antiabortion, but it has nothing to do with a biblical standpoint. Well, here's the thing without the God of the scriptures, you cannot account for the morality and ethics that you are imposing here we as believers know, based upon the revelation of God, that we are all created any image of God, God is creator shower in the womb is the created it is Rona murder, poor God, and this person commenting is showing that this has written on their heart. They aren't suppressing the truth of what's written on their heart, but they are suppressing in righteousness, creator who wrote it upon their heart. You have no standard without. The God of the bible to judge abortions v wrong, unless you start with God anything else is just absolute utter. Absurdity precept for the win on our nets quotes, I was raised Catholic and yes, went to church and I am pro choice. Go figure no one has the right to tell me. What is good or not good for me in quotes, I was raised Catholic and yes. Wednesday, search approach always go figure. Yep. Go. Figure the Catholic church in their anti Christ. Pope are getting more and more liberal. I mean, do you wanna cookie for going to church is that is that the reason why you're throwing that out that no way? Hold any weight whatsoever. They say in a way like it does. Right. We hear it all the time, whenever evangelized someone. Well, I used to go to church. Okay. What was that mean no one has the right to tell me what is good or not? Good for me. I bet you this person is not consistent with that standard. If someone were to take their purse, stealing the money within I bet she wouldn't say, hey, go ahead. I don't have the right to tell you. What is good or not good for you? They can sing. Distance. He is. So unreal within the comments. Now the nets quote. This is a pretty common one, quote, I don't support abortion. But I support women hate the sin love the center in quote, you don't support abortion, but you support women. Okay, what does that mean? Do you support abortion? You just said that you didn't support women to even the ones in the wound that do not have a voice now. The nets lawn is something that we hear all the time. And we even hear professing Christian say this hate the sin love the center now. We should love others love in the center does not mean that we support something that is against God. We also hear this in regards to God, God hates the Sam, but loves the center, I don't think scripture is in line with this psalm chapter five verse five says God hates all who do iniquity, if this were true, if gone hated the sin and law the center, then universalism would have to be true. If this were true. God would not be just as he is not punishing sin. If this were true, God would not be righteous. This is at the root of why Christ's hats come it is at the root of the fact that we have a mediator between God. And man, Jesus Christ. Moving onto the nets comment. Quote, this idiot. Eric, I'm pro-life, but the only requirement for being a Christian is loving and living. Light Jesus end quote. And you know that John, MacArthur mean where he's guess. He's only King Live. He's got his head cut down a little bit looking over his glasses. Would he is almost on the right track here, but not really his view of what it means to be a Christian is Todd up to the law to be a Christian. You must love and live like Jesus. Well Jesus loved perfectly. We can't don't do that Christ live perfectly. We can't and don't do that either rather to be a Christian. God must change your heart, and you must place your faith alone in Christ alone. This. Persons come in AS Roma's them at its finest love good and do good in the skills will tip in your favor. I guess very much like Islam, and what are we say about that? Exactly grace alone, faith, alone, Kreis alone scripture loan glory to God alone. And here is my favorite one, ladies and gentlemen. This is the one comment on that. I actually responded to end. This is a typical argument that we get on the pro-life Saad, and quote, men need to shut the hell up about this topic. They don't know what they are talking about. They know nothing about women's healthcare, and certainly not about birth control, which will be affected by these new bills in quote, I love it when people use the genetic fallacy. And that's what this is. This is the genetic fallacy wonders anchorman need to shut up about this topic my response. Why are you assuming my gender if identifies? A woman until the end of my statement, does that them make my statement Vallon I mean that's the absurdity with the left. Don't assign Jenner someone. But they sit here in a sign gender to people. They'd tell them in that we don't have that we shouldn't have an opinion on the subject, men don't know about women's. Care will. That's considering many men are in this area of healthcare, including my wife's doctor who was very respected in his field. But I guess he doesn't know anything and get this men, don't know about birth control. Listen, I'm no more than a lot of ladies in the issues with my wife and I've had trying to conceive. I'll also know that calms are a valid form of birth control, which men by the way practice safe sex. Better yet practice. Biblical sets says only within the confines of marriage, and we wouldn't be having this discussion and I have seen absolutely nothing in any of these bills at that says that these bills will take away, birth control. So I don't know what she's talking about here. So who doesn't know they're talking about here people bottom line, you do not have to have a vagina in order to know that murder is wrong is revealed to us win the word of God. It's written upon our hearts and folks, please understand there were so many more comments on this read that I could read some repetitive some. That would make you scratch, your head for hours on end and confused. Asian. But bottom line is this. We need to preach the gospel abortion. The reality of abortion is a result of sin, as a result of the fall of man, result of fallen, as and the only cure is found in Christ live, perfectly suffered doubt, upon the crawls paying the debt. We as centers owes who. God is found in this Christ who conquered sin and death when he rose from the dead on the third day and salve Asian contrary to what many of these comments say is only by faith alone in this Christ alone that is going to wrap things of force this week. "I don't mean to offend your Murphy delicate sensibilities the pats are winning the Super Bowl Morphos thinking about this. You blow the Friday football forecast. Well, this is my own forecast is the paulie MAC Monday morning kinda still hung over forecast. And I gotta tell you this Murph are the patriots gonna lose back to back Super Bowls. That's the question the answer to that question is no. We actually do have a connection down to Atlanta. Okay. Sent Bonnie Jill down there. We'll see how in just a minute. But traffic is this pardon me. This segment is sponsored by US basketball. Get your tickets now for the next US have home game against WCC rival Santa Clara do they loss loss over the weekend. Fourteen point loss, Murph we cannot sue I felt like that was down south, right? San diego. Yeah. Yeah. These these next three road ones are tougher than they go San Diego Saint Mary's. Emma. Gotta go up to Spokane. So get us following. Well, their next home means against WCC rival Santa Clara on February. Ninth tip is at eight PM and tickets, go on facet USF, don's dot com or call four one five four two two to USF. Who knows they may sneak into the berm babies five and five into sorry. Five and two in the conference seventeen and four overall. I think they're still going to need that one. Big signature win writes, the only way they're going to turn them as if they beat if they win the conference tournament. That's it. That's it. What if they lose? Okay. Now, what are casual isn't even close to turning what if they were to upset the zags and lose the tournament. No. You mean going up to Spokane to beat them? Now. Bennett used to do that. And didn't get them in there. My question is how can you be? How can you be getting top twenty five votes? Only lose those games in your conference will not be a top sixty four team in the top twenty five voters is a is a whole different deal. Because also there's automatic bids that gobble up a lot of the field. Of course, they gobble up. What percentage of the field about thirteen? Look, we can do the research, but maybe USF doesn't deserve top twenty five oats for all of us to have on. I no I just want them in the top twenty five polls in the in the in the net rankings are different. But it's different. They won't get in Macau unless they win the conference tournament. I'm not breaking balls. I'm just following up. How's life after all for treating you so far because I'm looking at your numbers up here. Not great. We've beat Arizona on Saturday. Who's even worse off than we are? Yeah. No. It's a total disaster. Washington by buddy, sully said looks like the Murray bounces over that's the Murray Bartels down. So we started three and with him. And then came back at Stanford's down UCLA. May only get one team in the tournament this year. All right, mainly get one. Or like the freaking Big Sky saw. All right. Let's go down to the a real cute song. A welcome to the somebody a bunch of these prep school kids charter school kids out Atlanta. Right. And you know, what the more I watched the video. I was like, you know, I think I'm too hard on Atlanta. It's not a bad town. Yeah. Bonnie Jill laflin is down there. She's our correspondent on the scene body jail. You traveling woman from the NHL all star game to Super Bowl radio row. Good morning. Good morning. How are y'all doing in San Francisco? We're doing good. How is it? Is it like every like give us the paint a picture bunny Jill well last night? We went by Olympic sentinel park, which is what they had the healthy bakes. And there's a lot of the NFL experience. A lot of people started come in. Mostly patriot fans are already here seen any ram fans. Not one yet. And that just the radio row, everyone just kind of filing in the people started just kind of get get everything kinda squared away. For the big big week. Bonnie Jill Murph, and I were just talking about the patriot fan base. They filled FOX or damn near Philly yesterday, thirty five thousand strong, how how much experience do you have just being surrounded by dealing with as we like to call them mass holes Diatta handle yourself in in the midst of mass idea I've been coming to Stephen ball, so long that patriots are always here. So I know how to deal with those those fans, but they're you know, what I think because they're so used to being here. They're not very. They're not aggressive like the eagles fans for our last. They were so excited to finally navy. Can't in the EKG l doing all that the pats fans. I think they're like, hey, we're conclo- collect as a quarterback. We're we're good. We don't need to be excited. 'cause we're here every year. Stuffed body jail down there on radio row, we know really will crank up on Wednesday when they get going like you haven't on the scene to down there in Atlanta, by the way, just a quick note. I want to set up my because the hockey crowd just pummels me relentlessly for my lack of hockey DNA. But are you? How was the NHL all-star seeing? It was great. It was fine. You know, I went sand the hugest hockey fan. But I do respect those guys, and I love going out there and being able to see so to the skills counts. I don't know if you have ever been to that Murphy MAC, but it's really neat. They do like the fastest skater. The the hardest puck like all these things at best saves goal as it was really neat to see those different skills challenges and they had team USA and Team Canada for the women also in those events and the sharks fans really represented. I would say seventy percent of the fans were definitely sharks fans. They were down there, by the way, I saw police Sidney Crosby gets all star game every day. I'm like what is this two thousand two Brady and the Super Bowl? Instead Crosby winning all star game in the ageless wonders. They're so all right, buddy gel. Well, listen, we know that it's a little chill right now. And we know that you are mustering up. But if one Wednesday it's going to really get cranking, and you're going to be yanking people one by one over to radio row. I know it's going to be awesome. And where we look forward to it. But in the meantime, if you get anybody in the next couple of hours autists down running around down. And I got my Dwight Clark jersey on represent and the forty Niners today for your body jail. They go way to go, man. You're not too far from his North Carolina's not too far from Atlanta. So his hometown of Charlotte there for sure so good to hear. You sounds like you're sounds like y'all revved up and ready to go for the week. Steer clear to many patriots fans, and we'll talk to you soon. Okay. Thanks, guys. Laflin down on radio row, and we're going to start start to get. And then you start to plugs to forget. Avocados the printers the Epsom printers. Nice. Yeah. Yeah. What else are we going to be probably don't forget your coffee mug, Koby, coffee, mugs. Jared Allen with the the bathroom fragrance display through last year. Nominal call. I believe he Mackey elegant description of well, it's the issue that nobody wants to address because it's so awkward. Yeah. He he said he elegantly addressed the foul of a bathroom, not be the single most frustrating part of living in San Francisco when I think back Culp is up most of the places unless you're doing like really really really, well, you're going with a one bathroom joint. Right. A lot of these are you in a one bathroom joint Cup. I'm guessing, of course. Yeah. There you go. So now, there's nowhere to hide you know, what I mean when you got your significant other coming over you can't go in there with the paper. If you know what I'm saying. And then expect all is going to be. Well, paulie was just can't what are you me for a San Francisco restaurant would just the one bathroom, dude. Two. Dude in north beach, especially boulevard, you go like an elevator to get down. You do. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. What about basement floor gentlemen about it? Could you please leave the floor? If you're going to do. That's in north beach. What about the places downtown? Ongoing Ripley today. What distinguishes downtown? Yeah. Here in San Francisco with Murph kick north beach out which technically you're right. But if somebody says like and Murphy even said like we don't work down. We don't we're close the beauty of very close very close. That I would even say we work downtown. But Murphy and having that remember the sopranos when when Bush was walking through little elite all of a sudden it stopped being literally laundromats bus downtown. Us know when you walk like to I'd say once you hit the embarked Darrow center. It's on that. Sees you really did the Meridian down there. Then you're in. You're in downtown there Le Meridian hotel down there. Maybe we'll go to Mark in this one. Yeah. I gotta remember that hotel is it on the embarcadero. It's right before embarking at our center, so embarcadero center is right across the gateway to downtown. Our friends over at the handlery, and they got the beautiful union square for sure. Around just checking traffic dusty.

"Listen, our old, buddy. Haley our old, buddy. What's his name from sake? Sorry. I was talking to Haley. She wanted me to punch your career. Interrupting or you could just told her you putz. It's a little more. It's a little Marc Lawrence. All right. We talked about a story about a guy named David Stephen ball. He was at a mall in Asheville North Carolina was surrounded by preteens about twelve to fifteen eleven to thirteen year old girls, and they were shoving him, and they were sort of a mob mentality. It's cursing at him throwing things at him. Well, he turned around and he just pop one of these girls right in the face. She went right down in our conversation. I think it's interesting to think obviously should never ever lay your hands on on a woman, especially eleven year old girl, but when there's a mob mentality. What's the guy supposed to do? What what's this fifty one year old guy has been charged with two counts of assault? He has a traumatic brain injury that has caused PTSD. So we don't know where he is. But he's a big guy. Six foot five two hundred and fifty pounds. That's fantastic question. Whether if this was kind of a little, dude. Would would the optics be better? We'll let's get some calls. Mark Dave, Bob, and Russell or on to comment on this, Mark. What's your take on this? But. My take on it is that it's a parenting. Thirteen year old kids doing out after the street lights are on without parental supervision. When they go predatory like these duties days, you got a problem. Thirteen year old girls way on twenty five pounds. Yeah. What they don't understand the simple physics. He was six five to fifty nine eleven year olds should be smart enough to know, not to come someone that big they got what they deserved. I hate to say it. Okay marked. There you go. I call out of the gate. I think that there were going to I think we're going to receive more calls like Mark than I think you then you would I see Russel you're on with Tony Dwyer. Go ahead. Thank you. Tony and hurt white. Here's my here's my here's.

"Hey, I like it. I cannot believe I just put Bobby bare and it popped up right away right away YouTube. It's got almost seventeen thousand views hell bear, it's spelled B. A R E Bobby bare new cut road. It's a volleyball record tonight. Right. There's an interesting story out of and we're going to talk to you. Or you're gonna talk to Joey Fatone here in stick around. No. It's all you. I'm on his hand the ball off to you. You're not you didn't love in sink in the nineties. Okay. Okay. David. And Stephen David Stephen ball was at a mall and Asheville North Carolina fan I want. I want you to chime in on this story when a group of preteen girls surrounded him and started harassing and pushing him. It's got this on video hang on is not a good ending here. Oh, I'm sorry. He turned around at one point shoved and eleven year old girl and then punched her, right? She went down like a sack of potatoes. Of course. He was arrested and charged with two counts of assault. His lawyer says the actions were an effort to defend himself against a perceived threat of a large pack of youth. Did you watch the video? What were they doing? They were there was about a dozen of them. And they were all kind of pushing him like one would run up behind him push him anywhere. Turn around won't push him from by what do you do in that situation? Well, supposedly, the lawyer all goes on to say that bell was escorting a woman because this is right out front of the mall. So he was they were inside the mall, and he says that bell was escorting woman. Because these this pack of crazy preteens were harassing this woman. And he went over and got him between and said, hey, leave her alone and got her to outside car. Also. He says bell Bell's lawyer says the fifty one fifty one year old bell was being treated for traumatic brain injury and has PTSD. Well, man, by the way, bell is six foot five two hundred and fifty pounds. Oh, he's a Halse. He's a Haas. Wow. Here's. I'm not hit eleven year old girl even know, she's the if she's acting evil and crazy. You can't sit there and get yourself killed either. No. That's that's where I think this is a interesting topic because look the mall mall same as he's had some problems couple of years ago. And if you walk through JC Penny's in the mall here in Louisville, the escalator never works like it's never operating, and I was complaining about that out loud once going to sing never works. And there was an older lady that had the little JC Penney's jacket on. And she said, oh, I'll tell you. She goes every single Friday or Saturday night every single weekend seventy five teenagers come rolling through here. They all get on the escalator, and they start jumping up and down until it breaks. Oh my God. You're kidding. She goes, no, that's why it's always out of order. And I was like oh my gosh. So. It isn't it to your point. He's a big, dude. And these are all these preteens thereabouts eleven twelve thirteen years old, but they were shoving him screaming at him, and it can be intimidating if there's a group of them screaming at you. The guy's got PTSD to. I mean, there's a pack around him. He has to defend himself. But I mean, if he was a small guy is that does that make things any different. I think it does. I think it does. It's more of a sheep's sheepish kind of smaller guy. Then I think. I think it would be visually better. That's for sure. Because the video you can Google the video he gets shoved from behind. He turns around and he just bone while at Wallops or right in the face. Here's what I'll tell you something similar happened to buddy of mine. He was actually a scientist. His name was Bill banner, and they started picking on him. And when they made him angry right for you get upset. Oh, you didn't like him. When Bill banner was angry him. He turned green. I'm not sure that's Dr banner. His name. I think Bill banner wouldn't it? The hulk Bill Bill, but I can't remember banner is his last name was it. Yeah. It was Bill Bixby Bill bixby's the guy that played it screwed. One course. Okay. Haley, did you hear the story? A pack of teenagers. Did you hear the story? I was talking about with the guide slugged eleven year old girl out front of the mall. Oh, yeah. Okay. Well, it's an interesting topic because there is a sort of a large group of preteens sort of surrounding him in a mob mentality. No, one is condoning hitting a girl. There's there's no you're not doing that. But there's some point where you have to defend yourself. Right. No. You don't hit a child? Tony. If you're an adult man fighting an eleven year old girl. I'm saying that. What you have to defend yourself to maybe shut people out of the way get out of there defend yourself with a pack of eleven year old girl. Be leaving your defend yourself. How how else could he have defended himself against a pack of eleven year old girl walking away their eleven you have you ever see a pack of a vicious eleven year old girls. In myself. I'm a pack of angry eleven year olds good point good point just stepped me away and just gotten K and then walked your car and think I'm not gonna hit a child today. Hot take. That's your take five seven one eight four eight four. We'll take your phone calls after this. What should have the what's the only option that guy? I mean, how do I how do you defend yourself without going to jail? I mean, even if you grab the woman and start rushing your way through this pack, your teenager salt you're still to even knock down. Yeah. Yeah. Short break. We'll come back. Haley will do the news. Here. The. W H A S iheartradio has given wonks their.
