Top NBA Performances From This Week
"Nick given three performers from the nba weekend. That was our. let me. Just accept this up for america that you might be wondering. What's the committee going to do win. The nfl season job transition to a side gig which is nba metal committee. We're gonna go every night in the nba. Give out a gold. Silver and bronze of monday shows even harder. Because we have to take all the game from friday saturday and sunday. I think we're starting with the bronze medalist. We ever really gone over this for first time doing it. Bronze medallists paul george. Hey way off the playoff. Who knows but i know on a sleepy night in january. There's very few guys. You'd rather have thirty nine points quiet. Leonard didn't have it. He prevented the clippers from having back to back losses for the first time all year. Leonard your bronze medallist. So medallist. Jamal murray while call the yolk. We're gonna triple jamal. Murray just drops a thirty six five and four to lead the nuggets to a critical win after a bad one and four start and then your gold medallist. There is no question about it. This might be the performance of the year. One wardell stephen curry with sixty two points in thirty six minutes. Which by the way does mean step in dream on last night combined for sixty points. So draymond maybe should be included in that. But steph sixty points against the goal of that as the warriors. Get a needed win. Over the blazers. Those kevin wilds are your bronze silver and gold medal of the evening.

"Maybe you don't win a championship them with them in this year. But in the years to come you're guaranteed to have fats whereas how many other teams are guaranteed to have some combination of two players on that level. So i certainly wouldn't do it for hard. Like the celtics are not in the position. Where james harden is such upgrade over jalen brown that you make the deal in risk potentially blowing the next ten years of your franchise out who else is out there on the market that i would that is considered a trade chip in a situation like that so i think you know jaylen brown to me is become too big to trade at this point jason. Tatum already was jalen brown. After being you know the guy you trade for kawai the guy you trade. Anthony davis at this point. Jaylen brown too big to deal. Well i mean look if not that it would be but if we're doing the hypotheticals if it were jalen brown for anthony davis tomorrow when you compare. Anthony davis jason tatum. You'd probably do it but the l. That's that's not a realistic discussion One other wrinkled to this one Coincidental to this to this podcast agenda. Because i didn't know When i had this conversation a couple of days ago that we would be discussing jaylen brown today but Back and forth with with a friend who's a fan and we were just talking about simmons and beat this and the as sixer fan you know. I wonder if you had to do over again in that draft because it went simmons ingram brown. Would simmons still be number one. I thought well we hold on an so. The your your initial reaction is always think like that's crazy. of course. Ben simmons unicorn six ten point guard at all this but i started thinking about it. You know obviously ingraham's becoming all star and jaylen brown's on his way there and when you think about two skill sets and just the offensive repertoire. That the other two guys have. The benjamin does not have at this stage and so out of curiosity i through this at at a scout who you know as seen plenty of all these guys and he like i was expecting the get the hell out of here with that question response and it was not it was you know. I think i'd take jaylen brown. The dow was literally the response. Was i throughout this..

"Get two of your face for just six bucks. Participation may single item regular price. All right let's finish howard with jalen brown. And i don't know if you put them in the most improved category but he certainly has made some real big strides in the early part of the season. Averaged twenty points per game last season as we record this right around twenty seven. His field goal percentage jumped almost ten points in forty eight percent to right around or just a cut below. Fifty eight percent is three. Point percentage around forty three percent shooting thirty eight last year. I mean this is still viewed as jason tatum team. He's the guy at the top of the food chain. But jaylen brown's closing the gap on him right now and i bring this up in the context of trade situation. So i mean we're talking top of the show about james harden. How would you look in boston. Celtics are always the epicenter of trade rumors that have been over the recent years but as jalen brown almost become too big trade and we can use hard as an example like it sounds kind of goofy but would you trade jalen brown for james harden at this point with the way brown is playing and kind of the where this has been building towards over the last couple of years. Yeah i mean look. He's twenty four. He's not even really to his like early prime wherever you know whether they say primis twenty-seven so you're like you're like pre prime on a good contract to a good contract. He's twenty four. He's i mean. I think throughout the numbers already. He's averaging twenty seven four point five four point six rebounds three assists a game shooting at a great percentage. He's a a versatile and and aggressive defender. He's a great to him. He's one of the best two way players in the league right now and look. I look at the league. Forget the like the hypothetical jalen for hardening although it's a fun discussion if you of the who says no game i look at where the league is. Chris and i think if you look at the last several champions or just the last ten years or so. This league is so much controlled by versatile. Long athletic wing types. The kevin durant and kawhi leonard. Lebron james's and excuse me. Jason tatum and jaylen brown falls into that. Maybe is not the same exact level of some of those. And i don't want it. I'm not even saying jaylen and jayson nor belong with the durant lebron tier but those kind of players determine a lot about postseason success. And if you've got a guy who is in that you know six seven six eight six nine range whose long who can handle who can shoot. Who can defend multiple positions who you can run offense through. I just think that's where the league is right. Now in the celtics have different levels of it but they have two of them. They have two of them. I as a broad outline..

"Getting in that way but to your point like they're a functional franchise like they're doing the right things they're having success or at least a degree of success this season and it's not based off some absurd off season move that made them slightly better in the short term. Julius randle is on. I believe that expiring contract from the year the one he signed before. I don't think he's gonna play like this all season long especially not shooting numbers but i think he can be a solid score. Rebound what he's ben for for most of his career and you are building from the ground up. You're establishing a good base quickly. Looks like he's going to be part of your rotation where that rotation remains to be seen we haven't seen anything really moby top and yet but he was widely regarded by a lot of people going into the draft. As being one of the you know the better picks in and around that range. Mitchell robinson like you want to talk about things that can then have staying power mitchell. Robinson has defensive stopper does like mitchell. Robinson is a really really good defensive player. I think he's going to be a terrific shot. Blocker weakside defender in this league for many years to come. You put all that together. It's like all right. Maybe finish the season. I don't know what the equivalent of like forty wins is shortened season. Thirty thirty five wins. And then you're onto something you can drive somebody else in the lottery next year and yak. You can point to free agents say look. We're not the bad news bears anymore. We're not the gang that can't shoot straight. We're run by a front office. That is showing. It knows what it's doing. We have a head coach. Who while he sure as hell is gonna burn. You ought to be baron granville. The most there the top five minutes. I think in the league. No the top. Two minutes in the entirely to italy wanted to. That's vintage tips. Just run these guys into the ground like you may be. Yes if you go there you know you give yourself a chance to win. Some of the quotes. I've seen from some of the players. They randall said this recently. Where it was paraphrasing. A little bit here. It's you know we trust the game plan. We know that we're going to go out there and beyond kind of a level playing field. That's kinda stuff. You heard in chicago. A lot from jimmy butler and others about coaching and working with tom tiptoes so even they don't make the playoffs. They finished ninth or tenth and the conference. But do it looking functional. That's a huge win for the knicks. That is cause for celebration. If you're new york because it has been quite literally decades since. They've.

"But you do need to do it in a way. That doesn't hamstring you. One quick note. It may not just be the timber wolves pick and maybe the warriors bad as as they've shown time so we'll see where this goes it may be too top five top eight top ten whatever in a strong draft and if weisman blossoms into a star still a little early for that the a good indication so far but yeah they may have that rare ability to pull off the smoothest transition from championship era dynasty era to the next era without having to bottom out in a major way or bottom out for too long like they they kinda did bottom out in terms of record this past year but weird circumstances with klay out and all that stuff but they might be able to thread that needle. It's really tough to do. And but you want curry therefore it if if at all possible the one thing i'll say just in supportive of your your framing which is like. Let him hit free agency. he'll be thirty four at that time right. And so how many teams even if the if the fear we're we're going to lose them for agency. How many teams are going to go. Max out of thirty four year old Especially a smaller guard who. They don't generally age as well probably. There's probably not a lot of risk there unless you know say it's charlotte. Who just wants to bring him home and like you know have plant a flag. You'll put up. Put a nice little know flagging their kappa. Whatever i don't think there's a lot of danger there. I guess the other danger though is more of are you. Are you doing a disservice as it insulting in some way to steph curry to say you know what we're waiting waiting for free agency. We we just have to see where we are in hand and how you look like. Is that the wrong way to treat a guy who's much the franchises at the wrong signal to send to other stars and their agents and their families because that is. There's a political reality to chris. You do have to factor in perceptions and just wanting to show that we're the kind of franchise that always takes care of its own. I get that. Although i would argue that writing checks the total forty five million dollars in that last season is thanks enough. I mean i mean you. And i know it's never that simple. It isn't right. It isn't worth watching. Good piece by michael pena check it out over at sl dot com It's up right now on the site. You decided it was time to upgrade your outdoor deck. So you got all the essentials to do it. You.

"It's more about this chris. When he lands in philadelphia to play joel embiid or he lands in brooklyn to play with durant or when land miami to play with jimmy butler and bam out a bio wherever he ends up is he insists on still being a thirty five to thirty eight percent usage guy is still gonna want to dominate the ball and the offense the extent that he always has because if he gets somewhere else chris especially gets to one of his preferred destinations. It's going to mean pairing up with at least one. If not two other all stars and those guys are going wanna just sit around watching hardened beat the ball into the ground so the question i have is. What's he willing to do at this stage at thirty one having gotten all the individual accolades possible but not the ultimate prize. And i apologize to the celtics. Two thousand seven eight. Talk to ray allen for the story and it's about that sacrifice that ray allen paul pierce and chemical that made that enable the celtics to be better than the sum of their parts wanting to three hall of famers but if they don't play in concert with each other and each take a step back and serious steps back that they took then then you can't get there and james harden if he does land with multiple other stars somewhere that that's going to be the first question. How do you make it work. Yeah i think the counter i would make to. That is twofold one. It was a lifetime ago. I get that. But every time i talk to people in oklahoma city. I'm reminded of just how comfortable hardened was playing off of durant and westbrook again. It was a long time ago. And james harden was a complimentary player back. Then he's an mvp can't last now. What three four time nba scoring champion. So things have changed significantly but in that role. It's misleading for people to rewrite history. Not saying you do it but like some people rewrite history and say harden one out of oklahoma city because he wanted a bigger role he did got out of oklahoma city because they made the catastrophic of not maxing him out and thinking that you know salary cap ramifications were more important than signing james harden. If they had signed there may be the same things would have happened. Maybe would have wanted to be an alpha somewhere else but we don't know that to be true the other side of it is to that like everything you say is right. But i can't fathom by. James harden saying i want to go to brooklyn and i'm going to be the same.

"Was just he was he calm ball and i think he as a ball player he has so much respect from everyone but then as a coach i think he just had a great connectivity and guys really liked plan for them and i know some people that work for they loved working for him and it's just really sad to see it condolences to his family. Look at our career. Well his his book came out this year. So you can go and read a whole bunch more about him. I was just impressive but how long career ahead. And how much of an impact. He made as a player as a coach on so many of the great players. In this league and you talk about him as a player. He lost a bit of his career to injury when he came back though comeback player of the year. And i think i just i just look at a man seventy years old. He just got diagnosed with this real quick and so sad right now when people pass. Because there's you can't go see him and talk to them. We can't tell them you love them very difficult for a lot of the nba family because for as much as we talked about all of his contributions on the court. There isn't a person who spent time with paul westphal. Who wouldn't tell you. Oh well he was even better as a human being. I mean that's the impact he had on everyone. He touched so our condolences to his family. And everybody who loved him all right guys coming up. the jumps. longest running soap opera is back. Oh yes it spicier. "Know so many people. And so it all kind of checked a lot of in terms of where i could really meaningfully make an impact and i think the sky's the limit for what this can truly means. I guess we want eventually the north stars get of a man or woman golfer on the tour but day there are so many partners and people want to To lean in on growing the game in a meaningful way that can provide resources whether it's internships throughout the golf world in in the business of golf that again create no access in awareness or whether it's Finding just i think authentic in clever ways of telling stories around how awesome. Hvac are in general. It's not just howard. I'm starting with our. But there's so many other species that have amazing golf programs or a potential to To lean in and really invest in that so For me it was. It was scott divine intervention to your point around. There are a lot of opportunities that come. You'll get thrown out as you in a lot of different ways where you really know. Lean in from your tom resource perspective. But this one check so many different boxes. It makes sense. Yeah you kind of mentioned the goal. Being you know tour players would be would be an ultimate goal. But i think you touched on there too as well that there's so many benefits from the game of golf just being involved in the game of golf access to so many different people. That's why i always encourage you know. Young young people go caddy like you get out on the golf course. You get to meet influential people. You got people that'll help connect you jobs like there's just so much power and opportunity around round the game of golf that I'm i'm glad to see. I guess i read an article. You said I think there's work being done all around the country to make golf more affordable more fun. More approachable what else is out there that inspires you in that regard. What you see being done that you know you want to help implement in any way in the game of golf is getting younger. And it's getting to a point where i've been plenty of country clubs across the country. They've live as part of the benefit. You'll be able to travel to amazing places to play golf and to your point around networking and really influential people. That are ingrained in the game. I think there's so much interest in how we can change the culture of it. Obviously respect tradition but change the culture of golf where it's just fun. It's less pretentious in less You know this ideal. That's that nobody really has access to on a grand scale and the kind of elitist type of perspective so for me. That is the mission. I it's not gonna happen overnight. But i think you can kind of feel a change even some of the guys that show up on tour that come from different backgrounds and creating more of a pipeline of to your point like you got five six seven year old kids that you don't have to go. You have a dad. That's a membership. Certain club just to get a club in hand and go play creating safe places for those kids to get access in follow through where we know. How much golf teaches about ourselves character in developing your personality your ability to hang out with different types of people from different walks of life like i could talk about it for days. This is awesome to know that there's an opportunity to change in the tide that respects tradition but also makes it more accessible and young and phone. I i can tell from. You know reading about otis and and and your endeavor there as we gotta get up to how we got to get up there and play with those guys make video like i know the guy that got me all hyped up like we got to make that happen. I want to know too on a different note like who are some of the dudes in the nba. That you've you've seen kind of get caught super hard by the gulf bug camp. Moore's out there all the time on the golf course. He's you know he's all in on the game on and we mentioned andrea but who are some of the other guys that might surprise us either super new to the game or kind of had some amador game and starting to get better and better. No doubt kyle. Lowry was one. We played probably four years ago all star weekend in new orleans. I didn't know he played in. I saw his game then. I saw him last summer in tahoe and was night and day different. He was a guy that is. He's he's more of a bug in terms of road trips like china. Look at the schedule. Where my off days. I got hong kong games role games and gothi so whereas that often you mentioned can't my brother actually when we were going up he never really me and my dad played ten twelve times. He probably played two or three. Never really got into it up until about three or four years ago. Jr smith is one that on a lot of people know loves the game he cleaned out that pine valley There's nothing left in that in his size and that prochell impressive effort. It's so those guys are the ones that are kind of leading the nba. Golf culture if you will but every year. I've had three rookies already. That asked me where. I have an extra set of clubs. Where can i go. Get lessons in the bay or google play and They're getting into us. I can only imagine that's going to continue to grow. I know the answer. I know these one answer to this question in so it might be Might give you have to give me two courses but like the number one course or or maybe the top two courses Because i think alphabetically and of course we're going to see a lot. This week is one of the way to go travel and play. That has been especially exciting for you. We can just throw it away. African kings barnes and scotland's one of my favorite courses. I've ever played. Just obviously being in scotland and on the home of golf. There's something unique about that place mixed with the history of saint andrews and carnoustie gleneagles. And all that. That's over there. Kings bars is one of my absolute favorites outside of that. I would probably say north citizen our backyard but it's pebble beaches. It's like that it's like that this earth it's like no shot is boring or every view that you have on the course you kinda feel like you're in another world. So those two ta malysz with gus fisher. What tell me about your trip to. Scotland was at a specific golf trip that you were on. Where else did you play over there. Yeah took my dad. His fiftieth birthday About five or six years ago. Now we did mostly the the east coast scholar right near so right near saint edges. We did all the old course. The carnoustie gleneagles The fairmont hotel. That's right there. I think they just played a A terminal a european tour at the kid. I think it was called. Or one of those two courses who played that kings barnes and so that was And you go. In the summer we went in june and it was one of the wildest experiences you heard about how much daylight there is so we go play gleneagles in back to the hotel and play another round. That course in. It'd be like ten o'clock. Can we still be out there grinding. That was actually probably my first actual golf trips. Where we are out of the country is pretty awesome. What's like for for someone like you to go around. In scotland amuse a different you get different reception to people recognize you nearly as much in a foreign country. Like scotland as they would in the states. I'd have to go back now that we got three chips under our belt because those ripe Twenty fourteen right before we want our first one. So i kinda y'know six three and i don't walk in a room and everybody's like that So it was. It was like we say is right on eighteen. We finished them. We went over to a low pulse literally across the street. We walked over there. Nobody bothers walked in. A little scotch. Stays is crazy. So i'll know what it'd be like now back but i. It's worth the effort if i can make have. Let's talk match three point you us. I don't know if you did. You beg your way into it. I mean i know you were tweeting about you. The second one. I've gotta get in. The next one is what happened after that talks already going on. That was the way into it. Yeah sometimes you gotta beer market yourself a little bit. I put that out there on twitter. Right in the middle of mass. There's probably right before now. Tom has made a shot from the fairway but From the from the. I did almost what two years ago with. Tiger field was awesome in the way that they put together. Awesome four and a half hours. Whatever was just math fun. Trash talking good.

"Where do you play. Who do you play with and kind of If you will you can even drop like what's your low at home course as well So the low score Course cow clue by san francisco. Got sixty six twice games. We got pretty standard. Just show up and there's gonna be a game happening on wish Probably twice a week during the off season sometimes if Freedom sneak three in there. But it's a it's part of the routine of one when i'm training and Getting ready for the season. It's always great to get out and just get some kind of mental clarity and get away from basketball and golf. Is the way that you know. I do that. So it works at a actually pretty good. I get to play A good amount a quick break here to check in with our friends at alive craig. I'm going to be honest with you. Guys in the copy says to say here Last night. I mixed a great old fashioned. I gotta admit. I did not do this last night. And there's a reason why i've been going. Maybe a bit too hard on the elijah craig masters week. We were obviously not kidding. You saw it on the live show. We were drinking this on a nightly basis. I have learned how to make a great old-fashioned fashioned at home which you can go. Just google elisa. Craig old-fashioned it's got a lot of great information on how to make a great one. The elijah craig small batch. Bourbon has rich flavor and full body. It's perfect for mixing. Craig kentucky straight bourbon whiskey bardstown kentucky forty seven percent alcohol by volume allies. Craig reminds you to think. Wisely drink wisely. Let's get back steph curry. I wanna know. I think there's a kind of under reported story at least in the world of golf as to what you've with the howard golf team and i wanna go back to the origin of that story how it ended up How you ended up reviving their golf program and why that really you know their story resonated with you it happen kind of out of nowhere so about a year and a half ago. I went to To howard to do a screening for a documentary that we were relaunching Caught emmanuel and we had a bunch of students come. We did a panel afterwards talking about the tragedy that happened in charleston south carolina back in twenty sixteen and as part of our university culture there so many talented students there that have so many different passions and After we did our panel and there's no wrote a students down the front stage. And i went to go when you go actually talk to people in person. I wanted to go say hi to everybody and Somebody was interested in designing shoes. And somebody wanted to get into production. Somebody had an idea for a new restaurant business. And i got to. This guy named otis ferguson. The fourth who was passionate about the game of golf was kinda directing their club team that they had but he had been trying to exhaust every effort to bring back the division one program that was decades New removed from from from the program so once he said you know howard golf and he had you know this idea of of of what it would take to get back. We'll start turning about what that actually look like and what it would take to to get that support and get that off the ground running and about six months later we had a plan of making a significant contribution to the to the program and hopefully the next six years will be able to create an dow that will not create scholarships for both men and women to go play for the howard. Bison golf team. We want to create a marquee program around golf. We have an amazing coast. Anterior who is taking the reins for this first season and Gal golfers that are on the team some of the interested in playing over the next couple of years and The goal obviously going to get some more access to the game. Some hopefully some minority communities. That i know there's talent there but they don't necessarily have the resources in the access. Secretive pipeline in the north star. I wanna play for our golf and do it. In a different way get some some satori professionals through the program hopefully but also just exposed into the world golf. I think a lot of people kind of get wrapped up in seeing what the product tv is and thinking about. You know what that would that y ranges but the world of golf in the business of there so many opportunities in ways to create a meaningful career. It's just about you know that awareness in had access and and People being billion so our golf is a is a great starting at direction. So couple things on this whole story kind of you know. I guess captivated me a little bit one. I'm sure you get approached about things like this all the time. And you just mentioned that specific screening. You know people are coming up to you saying this this and this this kind of idea in into your you play professional basketball. Not golf in three. As far as i can tell. I don't know what you're you're linked to dc is or why howard in particular so you kind of touched on some of the reasons there but but what was it necessarily. Why did you feel the need to get involved and to help promote the game of golf in this way. The first two pointer Just again my passion for golfing wanted to find a creative lane. That's out the to me to grow the game and grow access to the game that can reach down to the next generation. Because i know how much opportunity there is there and then anytime that you could support an hp c. You mean we as a lot of conversations about how impactful those universities are the amount of talent that comes out of those schools year after year even after this summer and all the social climate that we've we've we've been navigating. I think it's a is an opportunity. One where golf out has been able to really storyteller on really create meaningful traction in energy. But that's a total disservice to you know so many people. And so it all kind of checked a lot of in terms of where i could really meaningfully make an impact and i think the sky's the limit for what this can truly means. I guess we want eventually the north stars get of a man or woman golfer on the tour but day there are so many partners and people want.
NBA star Steph Curry on playing golf through the years
"Right stephane. Thanks so much for joining us. I want to start right away with background before. We came on start recording. You already give me bunch excuses about how you haven't been playing a lot so have feeling to know how this is going to go. But i i gotta know some back on. I think it is important. How you got into golf. How much you play grown-up all this started happening before we get into some of the events we've We've seen you play in no the The i've got all the disclaimers and qualifiers from our game got. Those one liners locked up. But i started plan back in By eight or nine my dad. He played six years in the nba. So it's kind of summertime. Hobby is normal kind of father son type of situation. You take me out drive a golf cart. He cut down a little putter. That i'd go hit with In that i started getting more and more Passionate about china learn how to play and by ten eleven playing full rounds them all play low high school golf for three years and then from there may have been bit by the bug ever since it is one of the things look forward during the most when. I'm outside of the court last similarities. To you know the the encore like ball competition what you experience in the in the league in how. I kind of transition that to china. Take everybody's money on the course so good. I was gonna say this from for later. But i want to understand what the gulf culture is like during the nba. Season right because you know guys season kind of your typically goes into june for you guys but you know releases into summer and you can play golf in the summer. How often are you playing during the season. Are you traveling with clubs. Do you need a certain time period on a road trip to be able to play on the road. Have the set course every city you go to. How's that work. All the above. I think the best way to explain it is I guess our team. We are in a little bit more freedom over the last five six seven years to be able to kind of even manipulate the schedule on road trips a little bit to bagan some golfing though so we'll probably play like twice a month during the season. Which is solid Mostly on the road coach. Kerr's amazing it. A go into a city will play. That night might have an early next morning but if we have an off day he'll give us a window to go play in the morning and then cash the plane to go to the next city and then we have the warrior golf team championship. Run a myself. Andrei igwe dollar klay thompson will play. We'd have some front office. Guys that will go out so we had to accrue whenever that wind opened up the group techs going. Hey time we plan where we're going so there's a. There's a golf culture for sure in. Our team is growing across the league. I think every year. I find like five ten guys that are either asking me about what club they should get or where they should get lessons. Or are asia coast cool which i'll bring in clubs on the plane type stuff so we get all those questions is by the by the year is pretty awesome to know. How much did you know that other people are enjoying the game. As much as i do because i think that was one thing especially for golf. Fans that stuck out about the last dance is how often jordan was like as soon as something was over a guy no no. We're going to go play golf. We're going to go play golf and be like a thing that is continually growing. I see andrea vall on twitter all the time. He's obviously you know a huge golf fan. But you know. I gotta be honest. I didn't really understand the depth of your game until you played in the ellie mae classic in two thousand seventeen. So what was you touched on high school golf but have you. Had you played in any golf tournaments since high school before you took on that challenge. Since high school tournament. We play the american century up. In lake tahoe. A play a maybe five or six summers out of out of the eight before i played nellie mae and that one is different experience. Because i think. If i'm on my game i should be like your top eight favorites a win even though haven't won it yet but when you get on alienate classic on the web dot com when it was a korn ferry now. I'm marie list. How far my game is from a professional that earns money is trying to carve out a career in this game. But i feel like i can hold my own so i had like this ghana irrational confidence in that respect but when i got not to the to the first day i i should say i did the practice round and all that really learning how they approach like the preparation for the week and a i'll put so much stress on like the practice rounds like trying to score and then i yo- you're gonna burn yourself out before that's thursday friday. That's not it. I learned that the first six holes. I was mad. I made a bogey or something like relax so it was. It was such a cool experience in five finals. Then play in front of nineteen thousand fans in crazy gentler russia's out in the court there is absolutely nothing to no way for me to really express how nervous i was on that i even had call him a name. I damn near blacked out on the on. The i just hoped i hit it got in the air it was. It was really kind of out of body experience so well. That's not your. It's not your sport sport. You go just go play. This is not your thing and you know you're doing it for a ton of eyeballs. Got to be that kind of feeling. One hundred percent and other thing that i learned which i don't think people appreciate washing these guys week after week after week is allies exhausted like mentally and physically Being in that mode for five hours straight like pre round during around post round. I get getting engulfed sheet. You know there's athletes out there but it's a different experience of staying locked in engaged in all the different ways that they approach kind of being on top of the game. It's is Is pretty awesome.

"Fifty points for to US minus over five seasons a total plus minus for five seasons considering the five bestselling player. He's no one's even close to him and then go Ryan that's because the team's really good well This was written about the start of last year because anybody that looks at plus minus which can be flawed. Aubrey over five years isn't really flow right. Okay it's flawed and a game can be flawed in a month is not flawed over five years. But that's well Ryan is plus minus. Is that because the team missile. Good okay well. At the beginning of Katie's run in sixteen seventeen if you looked at Curry Thompson rant green on the floor together they were seventeen points better than the opposition right so plus seventeen if you took durant out and you just went with the original warriors nearest there plus fifteen if you took klay out and it was just dream on and curry it was like plus fourteen and then if it would just scurry alone. The previous three seasons going into the very beginning last year they were still fourteen points better per one hundred possession. When curry was by himself? There is no number that will prove that he didn't affect the game in a way. Like yes I know. He's not as Physical Yester- possessions playoff of series where I'd be like yeah. This is some of his limitation showing up here but the way he freaked everybody out which I think teams got more used to but in the peak of this thing it was five live guys going. What the hell are we doing cheating away? And we're giving up other buckets. He was like this thing that the other nine people orbited around. and He. There's there's there's no number like every number tells you yell. Those other guys are really good but the thing that made it all work was always steph and shooting and even him coming enough screens. We people jumping recode ramp. Like Oh shit. Where's it going? And now to where he's able to over the top and then the trailer screener and they they jump out and then everybody just leaser like the other players who weren't great passers got so used to it. Because you're like I'll just wait until this guy leases this guy is GonNa cut also just incredibly fun to play with if you're just judging guys. I bet that fun to play with the Curry. You know he's not GonNa care suits too much as usage rates.

"Second thing because a Jordan Hill Germano. Yeah Steve Her and he's talked about this and it's it's this sneaky little Mba fact that it feels like it should be bigger deal. He thought he had traded for the seventh pick and Steph curry and the trade was marist and the fourteenth pack for Andres the agents in the seventh pick and he thought he added deal. Curry goes on the clock and the warriors fans lose their fucking mind and the words are like. Oh maybe we should take this guy and and this actually happens. So he's going to Phoenix to play with car and and Steve Nash. This is GONNA play out. This trade is like hey of curry's there at seven we're doing the trade right. Yeah and then they flipped. It doesn't happen now. Do you believe leave that. It's one hundred percent because of the reaction at the draft party. Something happened because there's another version. I'm not saying it's a different version. I think this is in addition to what you're saying. But but Don Nelson was with Golden State at this point and from the Phoenix side. That I had heard is that don had no intention but just was just snookering. Yeah maybe yeah well Phoenix. They're getting for five minutes absolutely. Oh my God we got Steph Curry. This isn't a disputing John. You're right thing happens. And they're in the war room high. fiving wingo my God everybody really like Tariq and then you had your boy in Minnesota my guy all right. Here's the third third way. They looked at two thousand eleven. They WanNa get Andrew Bogut. They offer Milwaukee Montreal us or Steph Curry your choice you pick Milwaukee Milwaukee PC bogut according to current bucks owner Mark Lazarie. Here's what he said the bucks medical medical staff didn't think steffes ankle would hold up. Says Mark Lazarie talking. That killed the deal. So I don't know if that's being late years It's a shadow Jamaica doors owner. It's luck and that's fine. I think we got rid of that medical staff when we bought the bucks. Wow One thing thing. The Joe Lake of light years ahead everybody else pissed off literally. It's the most angry thirty while twenty nine twenty.

"I Dunno they didn't have bogut Bogan right him either. Another another thing that's age the best The whole Dell Curry and his dad thing. I love when sons of athletes become better versions ends of the Dad. And they you know worldwide west home in this once. He said somebody whose dad was a professional athlete. You have to take take them more seriously. Because they've been in locker rooms. They understand how to be professional. They've just seen it. They're not like fish out of water. They actually this was his big case for Donald Mitchell. His like his dad was an athlete. He's they people are sleeping on Mitchell. He's like an adult already. He'll come in. He'll be an adult right away and you see the way staff San himself really from the GECKO. Oh It's same kind of thing right. Dockery played forever. He played for. I have coming up later. He put for eighteen seasons stat and Steph and his brother. They're going all these things on the pregame warmups watching you know. All types of people work on they're craft before the game and all that stuff. I think that's really helpful But I I. This is the best case scenario of a father. Something we've seen some bad case scenarios to and then Another what's age the best. I liked the nash connection with him. And I think one of the things that really doesn't get credit for for basically creating was the one leg shots and the off-balance wrong takeoff the long takeoff scoop shot. Couldn't believe when I first started riddick. Wait a minute nashes driving in a big and finishing lip and the reason he's finishing every time he's leaving ving early on the wrong foot right everybody. I think your timing your entire life is a big or a help defender. You're like wait a minute. How how not getting there is 'cause you so you've been? You've you haven't seen this before then you would see nash warm up and he's working on your moves and he's going into the lane jumping off the runway and you're like this is fucking weird. A curry does the same thing and I think he picked up some tricks for him. But the floaters the footwork. All that I think has really. It's the best he's gone. And then we mentioned game for two thousand sixteen ECKSTEEN. He doesn't have a defining playoff game is. We're going to cover a little bit. This was his defining play. Game does will say I. I am save it Game for their up to one cavs are healthy. This is now were cavs. This is the cavs are taken it. They're taking it back. Activated tied the Series Curry Goes Eleven for twenty five. He makes seven of thirteen threes. Nine of ten from the free throw line. Thirty eight points. The cavs Got Thirty four from Kyrie. Who's fourteen for twenty eight and twenty five and thirteen nine from Lebron? They actually played well in that game.

"That we're doing now. He's not the best part in the game. But it's a classic Steph Curry Game. He's really good in it and he actually has a couple of moments where he carries them. 'cause Klay hit some threes but I think the perception now is for forty eight minutes. He was amazing. He actually needed curry too. And it's the perfect Klay Curry game the Combo them and I think that's that's kind of their legacy game to some degree. I think we're GONNA talk about game. Saving those games right. Yeah okay good. WE'RE TALKING ABOUT GAME FOR CLEVELAND. Two Thousand Sixteen to because I did. That's a really important game. Next next. Category is what's age the best the two thousand seventeen warriors. Holy Shit It's it's too close to really kind of put them in a big picture assist perspective. It just happened but when you look at what they did. There was sixty seven and fifteen regular season sixteen and one in the playoffs. They went eighty three and sixteen. I'm not positive we're seeing that again. Did that'd be really hard. I think you'd have to stack the deck can in kind of the lucky way that they were able to with the cap going up with rent they averaged almost one hundred sixteen points a game. One fifteen point nine they outscored their opponents by eleven point six in the regular season there percentages as a team. Were fifty thirty. Thirty eight. Seventy nine hundred eighty two threes Katie curry and Klay together in the regular season. Were Seventy two point five points a game just the three of them. Nine point four threes forty percent three point shooting and then the playoffs Katie and curry together. Fifty six point six points a game fifty to forty thirty three ninety percentages. I and then you throw in clay and they and they were taking twenty two threes again. The three of them in the playoffs making nine point one breath. I think that's the best offensive team of all time. I don't know if it's the best team but were saying what was the best offensive. All time is the two thousand seventeen years and certainly a better offense than I ever expected to see my life and to think that just it also kind of talks a little bit about this team in that as much as I I I love them. They were the most careless team that was really good. Yeah they really were. I mean they turned it over. A bunch and Steph had moments and I remember the first interviews I ever did with him I go. Hey I'm I'm in love with watching you guys but it's very early might even that fifteen year I'm going I love watching guys play man. This is unbelievable. He's you know he couldn't be nicer. Theories Osman gotta talk to are you bored sometimes are you in. NBA Games really. Like I'm just GonNa try this shit real quick. See what happens as like you look board which it sounds into any laugh. The way he laughed it was basically saying. Yeah Larry Bird Labor. It had the game in Portland when he when he said before for the game. I'm shooting everything left handed and they're like okay. Cool I think fifteen left data chats the game and what what kind of pisses me off about seventeen team in. You know how these things he's like sixteen will never be remembered the way it needs to be. You know that pats team in two thousand seven's never going to be remembered the way that it needs to be. Yeah if you're doing the greatest. NFL teams of all time. Like you don't get to put them on it. which is ridiculous? I mean because the twenty five game winning streak is my favorite moment of all of this car staff which is another thing then. That would stay in the woods. Age the best because they won the title to took some shit for it they will be. Cleveland wasn't healthy. Whoa what are you going to do this share? And then they came out and kicked everybody's ass for how long is twenty five games. That's like this. This is seven weeks a a month and I remember. There was a Boston game. Steve Kerr did. I talked about it where somebody was hurt and it was like Boston was just GonNa end the street..

"I think it's insane that he did and still wrap my head around it. Thirty five and seven that season and fifty forty five ninety one percentages. He made five point one threes per game and four hundred and two made threes. Only person ever do that. Two point one steals Kinda sneaky. Thirty one point five. PR which is in like well. The brand territory. Six sixty nine percent true shooting which I've never really understood Richard shooting us. He led the League in free-throw percentage three points three pointers made steals per game. Pr True. Shooting percentage was second in three point percentage and in that thirty one point five. Pr was eighth all time only Lebron. MJ Won't Rehire. He had his wind. Shares for forty eight was point. Three one eight which is like only Kareem Lebron on. MJ would have been higher than that. All around and unbelievable season. And I think it's really important to mention if dream on just doesn't punch Lebron and the balls the they win that they win that series and five and this probably goes down as the greatest season ever at least for like statistically most they would've at eighty nine wins everything he did if you look at the totality of it it was in the conversation and then it falls apart those last three games. He's had a good run but I still always gonNA hate that moment for him. So yeah because you know the fifteen series was weird because he didn't win finals. MVP and it was. Oh you know what's going on. And by the way Kyrie's hurt. Love had been her earlier in that series or the playoff season against this. Let's really see it. Yes he's healthy. So let's see what happens. Opens here in sixteen and they get up to that amazing star. This thing's a rap like they just can't hang with these guys and this is still ridiculous to think pre durant and that that night I hate it I hate. I hate thinking about it. Like I'm not a widened grow warriors factoring but it it robs him of something and he became a three one. Mimi and I think this is the part of the curry story worry. That's like the if you're doing the full thing like this won't happen at the hall of fame induction. But he's the most disrespected superstar. I can think of at least in basketball. We can open it up to other sports if you want. I think he would be high up there to happen with Brady and football a lot too or no matter how much he did people are like but but not by then finally he won the Bros.. Oh you're saying by the peers so we can do both. Yeah like twitter. Doesn't like Steph with they. Don't like the legacy batching him with the Brian because the the theory is Oh has been well. He couldn't carry. Richard Jefferson in Trenton Thompson. To a title. And there's probably some truth in that too but the weird thing about Steph is if you WanNa dig and we have nerd corner coming up still. I'M GONNA save it for nerd corner but just impacts games in a different way than Lebron does and if view need somebody physically to take over possession after possession that he's not going to be able to do that he's just like we saw some of those limitations but at least for sixteen in the dream on Lebron play and and then falling apart. And I'm having an awful game seven. The three one lead meme that carried way longer than I would have ever ever imagined yet. That's where it felt like it started to turn and where people that felt like. Maybe it was fluky when it's like. Hey this isn't fluky but it was just some evidence said hey you know what all you people that are love with him this love affair and everybody wanting like we love to build these guys up but we also really enjoy tearing down like they never get credit for the three one comeback back against Oklahoma City because they did the same thing to Cleveland and that Oklahoma City Series where he included at the end of it. You're like okay. This is real. This is who these guys were because they were down three one..

"Veg mark price nationals. Fourteen point one point so he didn't make it We get seven thousand stats. He's the best shooter ever. I test confirms it all the stats. Confirm it and I think it'd be really interested to see what the next is. Ten years of his career is like whether you know. Because he's he's not gonna be able to be a superstar for I think more than three to four more years right. It's got a lot of miles on them Well well the other part of research in this is that has been slipping a bit shooting percentages slave just a wee bit a lie. But it's it's slipping from outside it's talking about Charlie's though where you're like she looks she's starting to look like she's in her late thirties now but she's still still a God. Yeah that's I'm totally fine with that but I would just say in looking at some of the numbers you know. The assist stuff is always great and even though he's had the ankle stuff and he's had time in the playoffs. You're like oh no. He doesn't have that Nash thing. Like I thought. Nash Shoulda Shot More Nash. I'd actually one of the greatest Ada shoes I've ever seen. But there's there's there's volume stuff that's not going to add up to because this is not the way he saw the game. You saw the game differently than but I'd go. Nash is going to be great like late. Thirties is going to be this guy. Going to bring off. The bench is GonNa hit all these open used to and then he just couldn't move anymore so that there's no reason why Steph can't play until he's forty forty but I don't. I don't think anybody's going to be sitting there. Having him initiate the offense the way he still has initiating everything even though they've done a really good job that's maybe part of the secret of all of this too is was that he wasn't always in the traditional point guard sense of like bring it up full court every single time like draymond could bring it up. Durant obviously wasn't uncomfortable with it. You Know Klay became better dribbler all these different things. But if you're asking me like long term I don't know why all of a sudden he's not gonna be still this elite shooter. We have nash coming up in a later. podcast on the Booker Basketball podcast where he admits his biggest mistake was not Schumer. I always love. Didn't know he was just trying to be the sufficient guy. And it's like actually you should be shooting twelve times twelve threes agape because you'll make five of them he would have. That's good for your team. He we say I love hearing that feel good second thing. You need to know about Steph Curry. So his ankles are I didn't WanNa put them in the what if because I don't think it's a whatever because he took care of them but I do think it's important to mention you. You know he had really fucked up ankles and we have really good technology these days and people that can look at your running style and be like. Hey when you run. And they're breaking down with computers. You're putting this much weight on your ankles. You gotta change the way. You're running gait so he learned how to do all that they had the right kind of shoes that are accustomed to his feet. And all this stuff and I bring this up because I think if he showed up in nineteen sixty nine or nineteen. Seventy five or even nineteen eighty-one. I think he just has is an injury plagued career and you talk about somebody born at the right time. He was born at the right time for somebody who had this one deficiency that we now have the technology analogy defects in all these different ways and also he landed in Golden state where he's in Silicon Valley where they have higher levels of training equipment. There's been good stuff you can google. There's been good stuff written about this over the years. He was really drafted by the right team. At the rate era. Kinda guy and I think if he's wearing old converses converses in nineteen sixty six with the way his body was learn..

"They will never win a title playing this way and it just was on after that the two most protective groups of people are parents on a playground and nineties. NBA Players about their era. Oh yeah they're insufferable and I like a lot of those guys been lucky enough to meet a few and Charles Barkley to this. Today's my favorite athlete of all time and got to talk to him on the show but I mean he picked against him every frigging series against them after they win the final. I still don't know if they win. The I remember that fifteen series and I know I don't WanNa get no you go online to do we want to do but I love the two thousand fifteen memphis series so much watch because they're down to one and it's Memphis and let's face it like the Memphis peak. They rented some better teams. It was a lovable team. 'cause they had an edge they were going to do with the different way the green grind. Yeah all of that stuff. They didn't have a chance in hell. Okay they just they they weren't they weren't better than the warriors in here. The warriors they put together this amazing season. It's it's like the real coronation of Steph here now. And they're down to one and I'm sitting in different students. We get all these other. NBA Guys CIANCI billips. WHO's one of my walks in the sea? It's a little different the play offs. And he's a piston. He's like you hit those screens a little bit harder and I would listen. He's got like no no. What is it actually going to happen? What is going to happen that they're always saying to start missing these shots? What's in everything was always like rough them up a little bit of like you know you guys didn't play tackle football again guys still gonNA open shots guy still driving lanes? I know everybody wants to run these Pistons Bulls Jordan things that wasn't every play guys whereas you're seeing clips of it so that wasn't every play in the nineties so when they were down to one against Memphis and I know people can go back and replay it as if all these different things would have happened. Tony Allen got big memphis that's a big one You know then. They decided to just ignore Tony Allen. In general they switched their defensive. Alignments and I said that day in the studio was built like well what do you think. And I'd just like Prince. The shirts printed shirts. I'm like they're winning this thing this year and then that was me being early on liking him pigging against Denver team earlier thinking there could possibly be San Antonio but there was still doubt like think about that. That's only four years ago the origin of this thing when it really took off there were a bunch of NBA guys. Go on now. They're down to Memphis this things over and what happened in sixteen in game seven when they couldn't score in the last six minutes and it just got so titan there and then all of a sudden the twenty seven. Footer isn't a great idea and now is the vindication of array was like see. That's what happens like they just won the title last year. So you can't say that it's going to happen. Teams are going to get tight The success has been ridiculous. The fifteen th two thousand fifteen seventeen warriors. Those three seasons their record was to seven and thirty nine. They didn't lose forty games in three years. That's saying that's insane and you know another part of this is just there are guys that had and it doesn't mean that you even if you you put people that had such a hard time with whether or not they were tough first of all. They were great defensive teams throughout this entire run except for the last team. That definitely was leaking defensively yet that just lost the Toronto but and that had a age and injuries had to do with that. Yeah the sixteen to fifteen sixteen seventeen defense was really really top top top notch arguably Wrigley one or two like every year throughout that so they also knew how to play defense. They're all so you know. Whether you want to talk about all the advancements shooting and going how much shooting can we put out there on the floor which is Kinda funny because it was also part of their downfall going back to Houston a couple years ago I used to realize you know what they actually only have like three guys that can make shot so let's guard five. Let's go through with five. Yeah you're like man. Golden State doesn't have enough shooting but the other thing that they did was the dollars. You Know Livingston early not so much later but clay. And then they added Durant to the peace and Steph had years where he held hold up better defensively than people want to give him credit for that he just did. He was smart enough to know at least where to stand. I was always a steph defender of his defense. Yeah right I actually think he got bad this last year but got older. They were multiple and that they were like. Hey what do I want to draft. Why WanNA drive guys who can shoot? Okay what else do I wanted to do. I won't be swished defensively. And that was something that they were always really good at it when they switched. They didn't get killed when they got switch. So that's that's a tough team. There's more things we can bring up here but just just because you hit thirty footers doesn't mean you're soft and that's something people had a hard time getting over and it recreated a blueprint that we thought was only one kind of blueprint where I can only actually win the title. If I have the Lebron Kobe bird you know just the transcendent perimeter guy or have a center and that's it. Those are two ways and then when Nashes sons didn't WanNa know seven or got to have the guy got out of that one even they only celtics. They gone all the way through Kobe when he wins back to back they still have Ghazal. They're buying them vote them they'd the ability to have real size And then Lebron Wade Bosch Bosch was basically the defacto big guy who could at least stretch the forest so it starts to shift and he was really good. Defensively was awesome offensively unsafely so it started to shift and even Bosch in the tail. End of the Miami thing he starin- Adrift Out. Come outside the threes a little bit more but it still feels like it happened fast like when you said how only four years ago everybody was down in this thing about that. It's four years ago. It's always the other way like you and I we talk about serve. Like how long was that. It's the I like your breath. This is is overnight. Like I love that you bring up Bosch right because when they were down what was it they were down to one. He were down to one of the Pacers. They were uh-huh like what are they going to do with ever or are they going to ever and is not just Miami expanding what they're doing offensively but then years later what goes like hip goes from. Maybe the heat should trade bosh for for two pieces to Hibbert. Can't get a job overnight. we have a bunch of categories destruction a little bit like the rewatch symbols. Who Do the pyramid pod? The first category is the resume. Were just go through a whole bunch of facts and stats with staff. Because I think when you put all the stuff stuff down on paper it's pretty staggering He's been late ten years as lengthy right now. Eight qualities six all stars best or second best poor and three champs two runners back to back. MVP's and fifteen and sixteen never finals MVP. which will be held against him? Historically it just will should have won it in fifteen We're going to go through that kind of constantly but Yeah to me you immediately. Expose yourself somebody who's just ridiculous if you're like is good but right back toback. MVP's here's the complete list. Kareem twat cremated twice. Lebron data twice Curry Nash Dunkin Jordan Magic Bird Moses will russell those those are all the guys that have been that. That's three six eleven guys. That's pretty crazy list. That's why we're the honest because back. He's the twelfth guy ever to do that significant difficult. When you just say those name get ridiculously getty just thinking about any of those names and then just it also reminds me how mad everybody was when he's back at one? Yeah he's like which name doesn't sound right in Nashes always. Yeah maybe there's some people would say that about curry because it's such a ridiculous list I would just rather go. It's a ridiculous ridiculous yeah all. Nba I three times second team twice third team in two thousand eighteen. Even though he only played fifty one games that was a total respect. Vote Legally League leader in points wants threes five times. free-throw percentage four times steals once I career twenty three and a half points twenty fifth all-time Ninety point five free throws first all-time Forty three point six three point percentage fifth all-time twenty three point eight. Pr He has made. May Two thousand four hundred eighty three threes heading into the season. It'll be over twenty five hundred by the time you hear this. That's third all time. Ray Allen is number one at twenty nine seventy three Reggie Miller's second at twenty five sixty not only curry going to break that record he's going to render it unrecognizable and unless unless Dame Lillard can play until he's fifty five. I don't really see anybody else even approaching it. 'cause he he really is going to have a chance to get over. Four thousand made threes. Historically three point. Stuff isn't fair to anybody now right so whenever anybody runs that graphic. You know like you can't do that or you guys. It's like looking at passing yards college football. Basically every kid that graduates that year leaves the all time passing leader because the offense is out of control but I think fifty fifty years from now. I wouldn't be surprised if you still If he was still there he's got sixteen to he's got over sixteen thousand points now. I think it's in play. You get twenty five thousand points. Four thousand three playoffs twenty seven five and six and one hundred twelve games forty five forty ninety one percent splits which I think forty five forty ninety club for playoffs should kind of be its own club because the plants are harder. If you're forty five forty nine year career like did something. Four point two made threes per Gabe Gabe in the playoffs. He's made four hundred seventy three playoff threes. which is first hundred in? Twenty one finals threes. which is I His five-year peak twenty seven five and seven. This is a five year average. Forty nine forty three ninety one percentages. He's almost fifty forty nine to cook for a five-year peak Ah just to have one of those like if you hit that club once for one season as a huge historic right..
Kevin Durant's injury resurrects Warriors' old Stephen Curry, which could spell trouble for the Rockets
"It's Kevin Durant because we have chaos full money. We have chaos because the best player in the world is out for God knows how long after this non contact right calf injury late in the third quarter of game five it would all seem to be kind of a warriors nightmare except that in clay ended up combining for fifty two to beat the rockets five five so bow the question in front of us now is what does this all mean for Golden State? What does that mean? We have chaos, right? Came horrid on this hot that. You'll we have chaos. Do they have chaos? Do they have what for them would be considered to be a measure of normalcy? Right because for them. Kevin durant? Not being there is like a previous time where they had a bunch of other stuff that was going and that was going very well. It is looked like the successive. Kevin Durant is a measure of chaos within this team. And then the fourth border once he's out of there. Hey didn't seem to miss them. Steph curry is like I yes, it feels good to be back. In my comfortable chair. Well in times like this. I like to think of the completely hypothetical entity known as the Kevin Durant hive how do they process this game because we know they don't exist. But hypothetically, what would they feel if they heard Steph curry say what he said after this game last night if we can throw to that video for four or football, please. During the time out we all looked at each other. There are a couple of smiles in terms of like what that meant for us as a team in the guys ever going to step up in those moments on again next minute mentality. Draymond said that some point in that time out. And so this feels chaotic to me insofar as the warriors did a lot of work to get. Kevin durant? Feel really good about being the best player in the world. And now you have Steph curry talking, honestly, I believe about how his teammates felt inspired smilingly inspired by the opportunity to do exactly what they loved to do before. Katie was

Nets' Harris beats Stephen Curry for 3-point title

Joe Harris who captured the three point challenge at the spectrum center in Charlotte winning these second contest of the night after posting a twenty six in the championship round Harris edge Curry's twenty four points kings guard buddy healed who was third. Stephen Curry to auction off 'Moon Landing' shoes for STEM education
"Conspiracy? Yeah. I I got a pass on that. I mean, let let's be real the moon landing happened. Okay. Just like nine eleven happened. Just like the JFK assassination happened. There might have been a second shooter. There that one I'm not totally sure on could have been a little action on the grassy knoll, bro. But my point is conspiracy theorists love to run rampant. With this stuff. And if you actually take the time to research this stuff, you will realize in pretty short order that. Yes, the moon landing happen in this is to be the bigger part of this story, though is that curry he's just too cool. Man. There's nothing he can't handle. You know what I'm saying? Like, he just does everything the right way. And how about the fact his party in Oakland that he's throwing so cool. This morning fans lining up around the corner to try and get tickets. It was the the the curry party Friday night at FOX theater in Oakland. So incredible man Steph curry just throwing that parlay for Oakland. That's curry baby. That's curry. There's nothing he doesn't do right. Except it shuts down the stretch against the rockets, and when you're up by twenty or you have a six point leaving the ball the minute eighteen left other than that though. There's not a damn thing that Steph curry doesn't do right. All right. Good stuff. Margus coming up next, title, San Jose, Sharks hockey, my friend. Jamie Baker
Stephen Curry's Moon Landing Shoes to Be Auctioned off to Benefit STEM Programs

A rare misfire for sharpshooting Stephen Curry this season
"You're listening to the spoken edition of the San Francisco Chronicle. A rare misfire for sharpshooting Steph curry this season by Scots ler. It's hard to know what to believe these days, the nineteen sixty nine moon landing and walk if Steph curry doesn't believe it can it be true look closely at those pictures in the background you'll see Starbucks now. I hear Kevin Durant believes the warriors faked their visit to the Hamptons three summers ago curry in the fellas didn't really fly cross country to court K D. Those were holograms created in one of team cone or Peter Guber movie studios fake love. And now we're supposed to believe that curry shooting fifty percent from beyond the three point arc going into Wednesday's game against the Toronto. Raptors the stats said curry was shooting fifty percent on threes. Ninety one for one hundred eighty two curry came back to earth slightly Wednesday in the warriors one hundred thirteen ninety three loss to the. Raptors he hit two of eight from long range lowering his percentage to forty eight point nine still a good number. This is Curry's tenth season and his previous bass was forty five point five in twenty eleven twelve his career Mark is forty three point nine. So what's up with the fifty? He's maturing said Bruce Fraser, the warriors assistant coach who works with curry daily shooting drills post practice and pre-game. That's it. We're all maturing. Mrs never bothered him before Fraser said, but I think they bother him less now so Curry's chill factor on three point shooting is now below zero his conscience has frozen over it does seem to this casual observer that curry has been even less inhibited with his shooting this season. Kyle Korver has been dubbed threes. So curry is Lord of the letter flies. He just sees the game better Fraser said but fifty percent. That's x Ray vision. Nobody in basketball history has pushed the limits of three point shooting. Like hurry has what he's done with threes in the shooting equivalent. What he's done with threes is the shooting equivalent of a moonwalk but fifty percent for such a high volume shooter is absurd. Take it from a man who knows Steve Kerr. The warriors head coach is number two on the season. Three ball percentage. Chart. Fifty two point four in nineteen ninety four ninety five top dog is Korver. Fifty three point six in two thousand nine ten Kerr shadow over fifty percent in a season three times. But where curry is attempting an average of ten point seven threes per game. Korver incur each shot. Two point one per game in their best seasons in corpus highest volume season. He attended six threes per game and shot forty nine point two percent said curb before the game you would expect fifty percent from a guy who's just going to stand there be wide open and shoot three of them in a game. There have been a couple of guys who've done that pause for laughter. Continue. But in terms of flying around like Steph does shooting off the dribble shooting the volume of threes that he does shooting the half court shots at the end of quarters fearlessly. It's almost impossible to do that over the course of a season. But I don't put anything past staff. That's for sure volume shot. That's where Curry's three balling strange credulity on the list of career three pointers made. Curry is number five with two thousand two hundred twenty two which is seven hundred fifty one behind leader Ray Allen, but Allen played thirteen hundred regular season games. Curry's played less than half that six hundred forty three. Everyone ahead of curry played at least eleven hundred twenty six games on this season's list of most accurate three ball shooters. Nobody among the top eighteen takes even half as many threes per game as curry it's easier to make threes. If you take a lot of them tell that to James harden, the only player in the league who shoots more. Threes than curry hardened shoots eleven point one per game. And makes thirty seven point three percent. If curry hits the fifty percent Mark or even if he has a routinely spectacular season of shooting threes Kurd deserves an assist playing incurs flowing offense. Designed for Cari has allowed him to evolve. As a long ball shooter from crazy. Good to shot up. Not only did Kerr design an offense to maximize Curry's talents. The coach also blended Klay Thompson, and then Kevin Durant into the mix. So seamlessly that defenses can't concentrate on curry crazy stat going into Wednesday curry Thomson and Durant where each taking an average of nineteen point seven shots per game. If curse oh smart in the second half of the season. Let's see him. Get DeMarcus cousins nineteen point seven shots per game. Two as for curry is it possible for him to join his own exclusive fifty ten club fifty percent on threes. For season while attempting ten per game. Sure said Jonas Repco on Wednesday. He could shoot sixty percent, right. And man could walk on the moon.
Everyone back on track
"You're listening to the spoken edition of the San Francisco Chronicle. Everyone back on track. The band was back together finally on Monday. The warriors were at last their complete selves for the first time in five weeks. Draymond green tech, Stephen curry. Yup. Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson present and accounted for. It's good to get back to who. We are green said four all stars on the floor together. The ones who went eight when one or more were missing and ten one when they all play together. Make that eleven one after a let the good times roll kind of night at oracle and one hundred sixteen to one oh eight win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday. Green finally returned to the court after missing fourteen of sixteen games, including eleven straight due to a toast brain for the first time since November fifth all four warriors all stars were available earlier in the day. The warriors learned that they had received sports Illustrated's annual sports person of the year award. Yes. Awkward wording when a team wins the award. The award is given for a team that best exemplifies ideals of achievement and sportsmanship. But in recent weeks that special glow that is surrounded the warriors for the better part of four years has been slightly dimmed the shine a bit tarnished. There was the November twelfth incident in Los Angeles when green and Kevin Durant had words and green subsequently was suspended for one game combined that chemistry breakdown with the absence of Stephen curry for eleven games because of a groin strain and the first four game losing streak of the Steve Kerr era. And there was valid reason for concern. The warriors were as Kursad banged up physically and banged up. Spiritually could the magic come back short answer? Yes. The warriors played with familiar joy and energy Monday night during Curry's absence. It was so obvious. What was missing the superstar the point machine, the heart and happiness of the warriors greens value is just as intense different. But also. And as tangible he pushes the pace, he's tough and emotional and smart and without him. The warriors simply aren't the same Kerr calls what green plays with a force curry said that it felt different with green. We were playing really really fast and excited. They were quintessential green moments in Monday's game. Like when he was left alone at the arc drained, a three pointer and emphatically waved his hand at the defender indicating the timber wolves might wanna guard him more closely at the end of the first half with four point four seconds left on the clock curry tossed green Alaba under the basket. It would have been an easy bucket but green swung. It back to Klay Thompson standing beyond the three point arc. Thompson nailed the three at the buzzer to send the warriors off the floor pumped up and celebrating. That was probably the play of the game Kerr said just an amazing leap and pass an awareness of brilliant, play green cracked. I was gassed I had no energy to go for the layup. So I threw clay the ball if you were trying to analyze the body language between. And Durant for any signs of strain. Good luck with that nothing was visible to the I for the most part the team looked like the same one that played together last season as we found out. It's just not the same without green without them altogether. With all four of their stars on the floor. The warriors have a point nine hundred ten winning percentage without one of their key players available. They have been average appoint five hundred team sometime in the next few weeks. The big four will become the big five with the addition of DeMarcus cousins who practiced in Santa Cruz for the first time Monday, how that works will be fascinating to watch one more novelty in a season that has been anything. But a repeat of last season. It feels different this year Kursad before the game. He was talking about the different combinations of players that he has been playing together. But he could have been talking about everything the whole season to this point in June during the finals Kerr joked about how he was going to keep his group motivated this season. The topic came up. Regularly in training camp as it turns out. It's not an issue the injuries the internal drama. The addition of cousins the introduction of the warriors to what Kerr calls the real NBA a league of ups and downs and strife, in difficulty has meant there has been no boredom. No going through the motions the way there wasn't times last season. The warriors haven't looked dominant in the first quarter of this season. And the Western Conference is confusing. Only three point five games separate the top eight teams in the conference. And if the season ended today, Houston, Utah and San Antonio will be left out of the playoffs. It has been a weird start nine of the warriors next fourteen games are at home and two of the road games are in Sacramento. The warriors are staying close to home and our complete. This might be when they gained some mental and some separation from the other teams in the west the band is back together. And that's a scary thing for the rest of the league and Killian is a San Francisco Chronicle columnist Email AK leeann. SF chronicle dot com. Twitter at an Killian.
Stephen Curry of Golden State Warriors to return Saturday
"Basketball game tomorrow not gonna have Steph curry for that one. But he will be back this weekend. And we're going to hear some sound from Steve Kerr in the next segment from practice today with the update about those two players and boy who's ready for a little curry in their life. Right. When I came in on Monday. And in a show in four days. And I don't remember, you know, during like this time of year when I've ever get four days in a row off, very rare. And I love what I do and be an offer four days. Like crushed my soul. I couldn't wait to get back on the air. I had that longing that need those empty spaces in my heart and not getting to watch Steph. Curry play basketball is kinda the same way you like. Appreciate it to a point. But you don't even realize just how good you have it until it's gone. And with curry not be here on this warriors team leading the way leading nation the way he does it's been missed, and, you know, dream ought to be back as well. What I was reading today.
