"Just sent that to their players sample so they're basically learning day by day from baseball's problems. What you can and can't do And you've gotta be very diligent and policing this and teams policing this and players policing one another. Keith in Virginia. Joining us a. Keith what you have for me today. Yeah, but You always want to do that, um, of person actually offer comment real quick about players to tune in For personally, I will watch Kevin Durant for certain sea person to see someone. Seven feet tall, is able to put the ball on the floor and shoot from anywhere on the court. And also, you know he has, you know a little controversy with him throughout his Korea. So to me, that just makes it feel like that. You know, he's tuning worthy. Laddies. I feel like a lot of NBA players. They don't have any, You know, Kazakh or anything that makes me want to like you say earlier to turn to tune into a butt like Kevin Durant, Steph Curry LeBron. I feel little players that you know, over the years, they had a lot of controversy out off the court. That makes you know interesting. You say, you know, I want to watch and see what's going on with this guy next, and plus we like winners. You know, fans like winners and the gas would do all this stuff and don't win. You know, it kind of makes it like you said earlier. You know, you don't want to influence so thanks a lot, man. Alright. Thank you. Keith Durant with Kyrie could be interesting. I was more of a tune into Russell Westbrook and Oklahoma City. And, you know, even in Houston. Not as much now James Harden is a tune in Player, But I'm talking about younger players because you know what is hard to see. 30 Somewhere around there. Kevin Durant and his age LeBron is still there's a tune in factor for LeBron. But that's just because you know, I've always been a fan of just watching him is basketball I Q. He's playing for the Lakers. You know he's playing in big games. And just the historical prospects of what you're seeing with LeBron. Yes, from club you gave Russell Westbrook credit for bringing back the missed mid range? No. Wow. Bass player is leading the team, right? He's playing unbelievable. But yeah. But what's going to happen in the playoffs? They're just going to make him shoot mid range jumpers. Last night, the Lakers made 41 field goals. 29 of those were in the paint. Nine of them were three pointers. Three. Mid range jumpers. That's you. And you know the game evolves and you know you have different styles used to be if you watched the Portland Trail Blazers in the late seventies as fine a team basketball as I've ever seen. The extra pass. They just played smart basketball. It wasn't a individually talented team yet. Bill Walton and Maurice Lucas, Lionel Hollins, Johnny Davis. Bobby Gross, Larry Steal. You didn't have great, You know, you know big names. Mo Lucas was a great player but in Walton was an old time player and had a whole fame coach in Jack Ramsey. But just passing the ball making the extra past go back to the Knicks. Back in 1970 the extra pass Then you had the two man game. You know, stocked in him alone, did a pick and roll for almost 20 years and nobody ever stopped it. Now we're going to everybody shooting a three pointer. Something else will happen, You know, and the game will change. I don't know when and what it will look like, but it will change. Harden will be 31. Coming up this month Theatre the month he'll be 31 Skip in Texas will join his high. Skip, How are you? Hey, Bud may skip So on. First of all, two quick things. I gotta throw Marvin under the bus. I mean, that's ridiculous Taking calls from Hawaii. It's like 3 a.m. What did he think he was going to get? I used to live in Maui for six years, and I'm telling you the only time I heard the show live, I was smashed. So that was ridiculous. Take that call and then, secondly, I get my name's skip as the skipper. 25 years I I ran powerboats and high speed varies on San Francisco Bay. I love the water. All right. Thank you, Skip. May hire Skip, I win the lottery. Could be my captain. Already final hour coming up. And make sure Francie doesn't do is Mike Tyson impersonation. In life. It's easy to get away with good enough when it comes to stuff like Monk, trimming the hedges or mowing the yard or folding towns, but with identity theft protection..

"I gotta watch once I got drafted, and I heard leave or so I think I'm gonna float. I think I'm gonna get out of Florida. I don't know, but it's a money, but well, here's the thing though, Joey the best two days are the day you buy it and the day you sell it. Ah been suggested to Get a membership with the boat club? Yes. Just ransom that that's what you should do. Yes, you do that. Or maybe just get like a kayak or something to start out with one step a little Get a little bit. Yeah. A congratulations and thanks for joining us Great to talk to you Give. Thanks for having me. Okay? That's Joey Bosa is now the highest paid defensive player in the NFL five year extension worth 1 35 You feel obligated to buy something right after you sign it? I don't think you want to buy a boat when you when you have more money than you should is when you're supposed to buy a boat, right? He's got silly money now. I know, but I would only want a boat if somebody would be my captain. If I could have somebody pilot the boat. I could have a chef and I could have somebody a skipper. Then I would. I would love to have a boat. But I don't want a boat. I liked me. I liked looking at the water. I don't like being on the water or in the water really know you don't like being on the water. I like being near the water. Yeah, but not like on a boat. No. No, no, don't need that. Don't you think it would be so awesome nota like sail across the Atlantic Ocean or something. If I won the lottery, That's what I would do well, like Jerry Jones's yacht, that would be fun. Or if it was a yacht that had a hella pan. I like that kind of yacht and then sail across the ocean. How awesome. Would that be? It's like a floating hotel. Yeah, Yeah, that would be so sick. It would be awesome. I'd be all in own favor that Yeah, I've seen some of those shots. They basically do everything you can to make you as far away from the water as possible. They both the house with windows and openings outside of ones. And those like Havana room. But I don't wanna have just a small boat. Big sailboat with I gotta, you know, sailing. And and a chef. I like to get to someplace. I'm not one that just goes. Let's just sail. I could see, though, if I was the Captain of that ship and was like sailing and then you get out somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic. I might have a panic attack. At some point. He's just looking around. There's nothing there agency clouds that could that might freak me out a little bit. That's where you need the heliport. Where I can get off this thing, Yes, but I've seen enough movies that never ends. Well, there's always a threat a squall right around the corner school. How about one of those guys who sails around like to do the challenge like alone? You? No, No, no, That's the last thing I know. I know that this No. Uh, salmon. Nebraska called back. Hey, Sam got a better connection. Yeah, Sorry about that. Dana's actually in Iowa earlier back in home a hot where civility civilizations that Ah I have an MBA question for you. Um, so it's probably safe to say like LeBron on the last decade of hoops. Maybe maybe you could say that Curry's too Kevin Durant, three. Maybe who knows? But I was wondering who you would think is going to own this decade. You said you're not really gonna tune in tow ya honest, Unlike a random night, the month B but ah I was wondering who do you think is going to be like Johannes Luca? Ah, die on someone else. So I was just wondering your thoughts on that. All right. Well, thank you, Sune. Thanks for calling back and glad you're back in Omaha. Ah! The Greek freak is spectacular, but I don't know if he's he's tune in factor worthy. If he leaves Milwaukee and ends up with the Knicks or the Lakers or something like that, then he might be more of a tune in factor worthy player, but it comes down to Zion is always going to be there. As long as he's explosive than having no dunks. Luca is going to be a tune in factor for a variety of reasons. Trey Young might be there. Um You have the older guard there with Steph Curry, who still if Steph Curry's playing, I'm watching. Katie is kind of there. He's not exciting. I mean, Nobody hits. The 18 foot jumper like Katie does. Who wells somebody old DEMAR DeRozan is holding on for dear life with the mid range jumper. There's going to be photographs like years from now where you're going to have somebody shooting a mid range jumper and people are going to go. What's that? Like people took mid range jumpers back then. Yeah. Yeah, they did. People. Do you think the Spurs saw, Tamara Rose said he's plays in Canada. Here's a mid range, nondescript game. He doesn't dunk a lot. He's not really a talker. We've got to go and get that guy. Yes, that's our guy. The mid range jumper Katie. Teddy and there is you can take advantage of defence is because it feels like it's either inside all the way inside or three point and you have all this space there to play with the mid range jumper. Marta Rosen doesn't shoot threes. He shoots less than one a game. But Katie is not tune in factor. I think Kyrie had a window where he was really interesting to watch. But am I missing anybody here? That you look at it Go, boy. That's tune in factor worthy. I think Trey Young on a better team would certainly help. I find him a whole lot of fun to watch in two years. It'll be this decade of money, Bates, It's the MBA, you know, Or what about that guy who decided to go pro the other day? Like, two weeks ago, we were talking about the number one recruit his highlights agree. We'd like youth. Well, we like the potential. Like what's next, and I, I just don't know with the evolution of the basketball player. In size and ability to be able to shoot and so you're seeing when somebody is seven feet tall, and they're shooting three pointers. That you would think the concept is not smart basketball because you want the seven footer underneath the hoop. But you know, basketball just been turned upside down. And I don't know. I feel like somebody is going to counterattack the wave of three point shots and that is you're gonna have a a big big man lineup. And you're gonna have to guard those guys. Now, The Rockets are still going to shoot 50 or 60 threes again because they're going to do the math on if we make 20 you know. We're going to do the math on if we were making two pointers, as opposed to three pointers, and that's what the Rockets you are all about. Ah, But not everybody can shoot well, and I think that that's the misconception. You watch a games. Now you watch pickup games. Everybody thinks that they're a three point shooter. And they're not obviously mean Steph Curry changed the game. Because you don't have to be big. You don't have to be physically imposing don't have to be able to jump high if you can get your shot off from three point range deep. Everybody in their minds like, you know, I can identify with him, And that's not the case..

"So so I'm happy that this exists now selfishly, personally for me. And Yeah I mean I don't think she did anything embarrassing on the show or or anything by any means. So I have no hang-ups about the rest of the world watching my parents or whoever else. So just for our audience sake you guys, we get the screeners. Kevin hasn't seen the episode yet it's Monday he'll be watching it tonight. How do you plan on watching this is going to be together is going to be with a lot of wine. Yeah wine for Allie. Tequila. For me after the kids go to bed. Yeah, we'll definitely watch it together. I anticipate probably looking away through some the kissing scenes and stuff. But I mean I've seen clips with her you know over the years and stuff obviously. So I don't know I'm excited to see like what this Casey characters all about the guy that kept singing tour my favorite. See like Roberto, Steph doesn't bother me at all because the two of them were engaged for a while afterwards and it didn't workout. You know if there's anybody that has ever liked snuck into my subconscious, it would be frank because for her if you're familiar with the season I guess he's kind of the one that got away so that you know maybe during the frank stuff, I might. Check my phone I was going to say that yeah, I, mean I was just GonNa say Casey was my character that like I'm most intrigued by For multiple reasons, he sing to her got a tattoo during the season like we're talking about right before you got here that intrigues me. Ashley's a big Fan of frank like she just thinks like, Hey, that's. A solid dude. But like their store didn't play out I have one question before third of Ashley because she this is her legendary season. She loves his okay cool So The kissing part. Because I don't I didn't know how to handle this with Jessica. Now granted, we had a lot of conversations. We've had had a lot of conversations about past dating history, but never in this world, is it ever really like healthy notice that happened that often that you have to see the person that you love and care about and have committed to and and you know put your. Your, you know your heart into kiss somebody else like even if it's thirty years ago, twenty years ago, ten years ago you know it hurts a little bit or maybe it feels weird. I know it did for Jessica how does it feel for you? Since I haven't seen yet. I can't totally answer that but I don't think it's going to. Bother me that much because it was ten years ago to me that is like I. You know I've had past relationships alley knows that she's never had to watch me kiss those people but it's just a part of her life. I've noticed since the day I met her I know that there are group dates and one on one dates in fantasy sweets and hot tub scenes and all of these things I know they exist..

"But I still think. It's about hardened to me Chris because of the. Because of all the bad ones, the clunkers you talked about do you know what I mean like like? What's the big thing? In the playoffs, they won't give them the calls that he normally gets which puts them at the line, and he makes all these free throws that go along with right with with the threes from the perimeter you make an interesting point. Let me ask you this. Let's let's say hypothetically Houston won the championship. And westbrook was the finals MVP. Series was still great. Would you still like when Steph didn't win MVP I still viewed it as his team win. Wanted in two thousand, fourteen nobody took anything away from Dunkin, it was still his team. Would you view it like that? It's still hardens team but Westberg just had a better series or would you feel like Westbrook may be their best player or at least is equal or or you know? I think Hardiman is about as the better player I do. Westbrook. We've seen. Chris. At one point couldn't couldn't make any jumpers like why? Can't she? Sure. But I'm just saying. So it's hard for me to look at him and think that he's the best player on that team. When you think about you know hard and skill and what he's able to do and his range you know and and whatnot I think hards, the better player. Westbrook, I love the way plays he plays hard every night he does a lot of other things. Plays with purpose but Nah that wouldn't change my mind it would be like. Harden hardens the better player, but West became a bigger. Yeah. I if you force me to pick between the two, I probably go harden but I think it's close and I do think like everybody's talking about what it would mean for Westbrook for hardens legacy. If you WANNA to championship I think westbrook would be undeniable like if you WanNa Championship as as the League guy. Won The MVP because he's got those three triple double seasons. My goodness. Championship and three straight years of triple doubles and the thing that was impressive when we talked about it before and I always give credit when people try to. Pooh Pooh discount his triple doubles is their record was way better when he got the triple doubles, they weren't empty where he just put up numbers Chris and they had a losing record or were just a five hundred team they play better and one game. So so I always I respect his triple doubles. Hey I'm Steve Greenberg the host of iheart new podcast speed of sound. No Look Pass

"The NBA Wmba seasons have started back up I've only caught one game so far, but like many basketball fans I'm looking forward to the tempo and intensity. This season will brink. It's a lot more on the line. Players are bringing that to the game. Don't get me wrong. I'm looking forward to some highlights to Dunks, lobs crossovers, but is something about that. No look pass that true finesse to the gain. Some of the greatest. No look passes of all time. John Stockton Steve Nash Steph Curry Arguably. Rajon, Rondo Carl Malone. It's nothing like seeing a player in all confidence. Take that ball up the court. Drive into the paint in dish it off with a no look. Pass finished the player scores. In the NBA Dunks are expected, but is that no look pass that catches you off guard, which is why many have not mastered it. Two things have to happen at were four. No look pass to occur successfully. Fars the passer has to have foresight as to where the recipient will be. This is what makes the no look. Pass so smooth is just not the no look, but it's the no look with the understanding and awareness of where the recipient is going. The recipient must be ready. This can go either two ways. They can catch it or they don't, and they don't. is nothing short of a disappointment, because if caught ninety percent of the time is buckets. The second thing that must happen in order for the no look pass to be successful. The player has to be emotion. When you're in motion, you're not stopped or stationary. There's momentum being exerted. And, being emotion requires you to stay focused on what's in front of you while also anticipating what's coming at you and for the big man holding down the paint? This is not easy. These guys are huge six foot eight seven feet now is one thing to run the baseline, but a completely different one to run the court trail the pain, not clobbering the man in front of you while possibly anticipating a quick dish. From the point, Guard So many factors to account for in a lot of trust going on there. Is Not easy, even though it looks easy, you may be saying tiffany. How does this apply to me? I don't play basketball. You're right, but you might be working two jobs to make ends meet or staying at home, juggling the demands of your kids or carrying the load of school. Whatever it is, keep going stay emotion. God the Ultimate Point Guard sees it all in every now and then. He might throw you a no look pass. Will you be ready.

Big Tech Funds a Think Tank Pushing for Fewer Rules. For Big Tech.

"Dig. Tech firms are schmoozing regulators into to not doing their jobs. Thirty four anti-trust officials were wined and nine last year by the global anti-trust into the suit, a part of the Antonin Scalia Law School at George. Mason University in Fairfax Virginia basically don't regulate us. Please enjoy this delicious meal. Global Antitrust Institute is funded mostly entirely by big companies affiliated foundations including Amazon Google qualcomm George Mason I covered it when I was at the Washington, Post they were always doing this kind of thing like putting up, you know. Being very friendly to corporate corporate citizens as I recall during this time when they were just getting started. Trying to attract a bigger level of professor there and so talk about this Mr Academics in terms of these things that get funded at universities, you institute Scott. Galloway Institute of Jabal Thank for example. That's right. like it's it's were. Universities are not immune from the lure of capitalism and a big component of. Your ability to get tenure is to get research funded, and it's difficult if you WANNA know. If. You WanNa. Know the outcome and a conclusion of research. Just find who's paid for it. Yeah, and in the case of most academic research. It's a lot of times it's funded. By nonpartisan sources are the university itself, and so if there is a a lease bad version of peer reviewed research, you're GONNA. Find it typically universities, but these think tanks if they're funded by. Certain And we have him on the left care we fund. We found groups to do research to basically support our know our narrative so i. don't think this is anything unusual. The question is abound power in that is. In addition to this think tank Sarah now more fulltime Amazon. Lobbyists making I would bet somewhere between four hundred eight hundred thousand dollars a year. Then there are sitting US senators now one hundred full time lobbyist from Amazon living in DC, taking all of these nice women and men to to golf into dinner and saying hey, we just a big fan of your leadership. We fight to get involved in your campaign by the way when this whole antitrust off comes up. We assume that you're you're for capitalism. Your four consumer lower consumer prices. And this is the danger, but I don't think these think tanks. We have on both sides nervous now whenever I time talking to one today and I was like Oh, where did you get your money? Like I never thought this like in terms of. The university and I was like I'm going to have to check in case, I'm. Saying something that sounded reasonable, but it was sort of like who's paying your bills and you know there was some controversy around some of this Kobe testing of where these these researchers have, it just feels like a lot of steph feels. Bogus like. It feels bogus when they're doing this and they're trying to influence, but I think many some universities are doing real research. Others are much more pay for play and I think that's that's really when I was a does. You've inspired her synapse farmer talking about this when I was? Five years into my Nyu Kerr invited me to a meeting where they were talking about doing some research about around financial markets and the impact on IPO's and They admitted meeting. And there was someone from the Nasdaq, and they were willing to fund it Funds Research and fund even fund center, and as one of the guys in the meeting Professor Bruce Buchanan who I think's one of the clear blue flame thinking economists in the world you know at the end of the meeting, said a not comfortable with the Nasdaq taking money. Money from the Nasdaq for research around the financial markets, because ultimately we're. GonNa end up saying that that the Nasdaq has the right you know. He just wasn't comfortable with private enterprise being injected into academic research, and then the meeting ended and I was like what the hell are you thinking? We have an opportunity to go great research here. Don't so pedantic. And as I've thought about it I'm wrong and he was right. Yeah, you can't help it. You can't help, but if they're paying for like all the smoking ones so much damage in terms of like smoking wants. We're like cigarettes aren't bad. That went on for a long time and Whatever the whatever the research is, it just seems like if it's cooked, it's cooked then. How do you pay for like the university should presumably just pay. Pay For right and live and die on the quality of the research, but that's sort of naive. I suspect you in the majority of about any sort of fifteen year overdue apology to a Professor Buchanan Vice. Chancellor Ingo Walter felt the same way that this was just. This creates too much opportunity for bias research so anyways. Net Net in it's a sample size of one, but Nyu takes that got role being a neutral arbiter very seriously. and. You have these funding you know. I'm thinking of all the different organizations are they seem like the like their criminal justice stuff Very Friedman! It feels like it's really good research right now, and that's the thing it's like who you have. They should at least be very clear about who's paying for it, so you know and and what they might turf. What what the what reports they might put in the drawer like the government is doing right now,

"The best place to start though would just be talking about spelt itself and I. think that'll probably lead into a kind of how you think people should be building Steph for the web. Because I'm sure there's a lot. Of, you know things they're related So so what does like the pitch I? Felt these days after you know having time to refine it over the last few years. Still working on the pitch on the it's a little bit of a difficult thing to to summarize and what I found works best is to try and PUT IT in the context of projects that people Germany more familiar with. So little people who've used reacts a lot of people who view. And they used to this idea of building web applications out of self contained components where you have the mockup for a particular piece of you I together with the styles that with that mockup and the behavior that controls how you can interact with that markup, and what it will change into in response to changes in state of Europe. so is that is the thing that allows you to build. Applications components the difference between spelt, and there's the projects is that? It primarily things of itself was a compiler, whereas traditional framework will take your to the author components and then sort of tandem into instructions to the browser at runtime. Spelt tries to do as much as possible at bill time, so you integrate your usual bill stat using web, tackle roller, or whatever module Bundy using, and it will take. The components that you've offered and an literally writer as Vanilla Javascript. And through that, it's able to achieve typically much better performance than traditional framework, and because we don't need to carry around in a virtual bum, defend general any of the stuff that you normally expect to include. Your application will typically be a lot smaller as well which means that it gets to use a faster and it starts up faster. the the final major benefit of a compiler century designed is that we have a lot more control over the Olsen experience when not constrained by having to. Design components in a way the the is. It like it's, it's not. We don't have to be valid jobs rich. And spelled component actually isn't written into a job. Script file is written to a file which is a super set of HTML so you're literally just writing html orienting it with the. Type cutty. Brace job expressions that you need for it to become dynamic, and because of that we can also include styles into component in the same file, and they will be scoped to the mockup. Because the compiler can analyze in the context of the MOCKUP. And you can have local state which you, which you change just by reassigning to triggering, renders in a more granular fashion than than the typical component level mandates, so it's a combination of all of those things it's framework, but it's also a compiler, and it's also a library of the things that you need when you're building an application, and A philosophy of building APPs I. Guess Yeah

How Do Betta Fish Work?

"Hey Brain Steph Lauren Vulva bomb here. With their striking bold colors and flashy fins. Fish are one of the more popular types of fish sold for home aquariums. Perhaps because unfortunately there are a number of misconceptions about these creatures. The truth is that they're not as hardy and easy to care for as many believe Beta fish, sometimes called fighting fish are tropical fish native to Southeast Asia Wild. Betas typically live in rice paddies and other shallow stagnant bodies of water because these wetlands. Wetlands routinely shrink during the dry season. Betas hop from puddle to Puddle, trying to find a reasonably deep pool where they can hang out until the rains return due to these conditions, Betas developed what's known as a labyrinth organ that gives them the ability to obtain some oxygen from the air as well as the water. The sub order that includes Betas are sometimes called Labyrinth fish or Jeremy. Betas got the nickname fighting fish due to their territorial nature during the eighteen hundreds. Perhaps especially in what's now Thailand, the fish were bred for this purpose and fights were forced for entertainment. Betas were first introduced to the United States in the twentieth. Century, wild, Betas generally have small fins in our dull, green or Brown in color, but today's pet Betas have been bred to be quite colorful with elaborate fans with proper care, a pet beta. Beta can live for two to four years, but before you buy one, make sure you're aware of these five common fish tails about the the Beta fish. Perhaps the most widespread myth about Betas is that they can live in small bowls. The opposite is true Beta, fish need a tank that's at least five gallons about twenty leaders and ten gallons, or about forty leaders is better. The origin behind this persistent myth is uncertain but May. May come from the fact that Betas are often sold in small containers, and because they have some ability to breathe out of the water, but this can be stressed if they're housed in close quarters, especially if they share space with fish, perceived as rivals, small tanks being, there's nowhere to hide even when house alone or with fish that they get along with. They still need hideouts to escape to, but while the tank should be spacious. SPACIOUS, it shouldn't be too deep as Betas are more comfortable, swimming back and forth not up and down. We spoke via email with Matt. Layton a longtime Beta fish owner and editor of Vivo Fish who explained that Betas should be kept in tanks, no deeper than twelve inches or thirty centimeters, noting that their fins aren't that powerful. He said if it's too deep, the Beta may not be able to get up to the surfaces easily. Easily. It's heartbreaking to see a Beta struggling climb and then be pulled down to the bottom by his tail. Another myth is that Beta aquariums don't need a water heater or filter, but Betas are tropical fish that need to be kept in water, ranging from seventy six to eighty one degrees. Fahrenheit, that's twenty four to twenty seven, Celsius unless you're home never veers hotter or colder. You'll need that heater. A water filter is important to even. Even though wild Betas live in murky puddles without a filter, the fishes excrement and eaten food can make the water toxic, though be short purchase filter with a gentle flow as Betas. Delicate fins do better in calm water in addition that their fins could be damaged by the section in higher flow filters. Meanwhile, it's actually true that Betas don't mind being alone, and they tend to have issues with other fish, if male Betas are placed. Placed together or placed with other fish that have bright colors and large fins. Their natural territorialism often prompts them to fight. However they can definitely live with other aquatic creatures, such as ghosts, shrimp snails and African Dwarf frogs they can also live with other species of fish, but they do best with bottom dwellers was small fins. They're less likely to fight over territory like the coolie loach, female Betas can often live harmoniously together given adequate. Adequate space, which means at least five gallons or twenty liters per fish, but always introduce new fish slowly and monitor them guides. Online can help you acclimate your existing fish to the idea of new tank. Mate tricks like rearranging hiding spots in feeding your current fish before adding a new one can help, but you should always watch them carefully for a few days and be prepared to move an aggressor to another tank or another home. Another misconception is the Betas can live off of plant roots alone while Beta. Fish are often sold in small vases with the plant. Betas are carnivores, not herbivores in the wild they chow down on insects and Larva, so feed your pets, fish pellets or flakes specially crafted for Betas you can supplement with high protein treats such as blood worms and brine shrimp, but remember that fish can become overweight just like any pet, so feed in moderation, ideally only as much food as the fish can eat within three to five minutes finally. Don't expect a Beta. Beta to be layabout. Many people observe Betas and pet stores where they're often kept in small containers, hinder their activity, and many owners erroneously keep their efficient unheeded water, which makes them lethargic, but Layton says that Beta fish are playful in the proper setting. He said I've seen them. Push Moss balls around dance around their tank display their tails, and generally be quite active. Betas are inquisitive, and will interact with plants, toys, and structures, floating or sinking. Just make sure they're fish safe and don't have any sharp edges. That could hurt those beautiful fins.

The Last Of Us

"Hello, everyone. My name is Jonathan Dornbush and this is a very special episode of podcast beyond because today we're going to be diving very deep into the last of us. Part to a full spoilers are in effect. If you haven't played the game, turn back now. Go play at go finish. It and then come back. Listen to this episode because we are going to dive. Into full spoiler territory with Lucille. O'Brien my have numbers with me, but more importantly I'm sorry, Lucy you don't have the highest honor this episode because we are joined by Neil Druckman and Halley, gross naughty dog for the last of US partout. Thank you both so much for being here and speaking with us today. They have. So the. House he twenty twenty being guys. Around. Warring Year of my life. Nothing. Much of note has happened this year. Definitely, so we'll. We'll try to find something to talk about this episode. I know Lucienne myself both have a ton that we want to ask you about and talk about with certain as much as I'd love to spend the next thirty minutes exclusively. Honoring the memory of Shimmer there are some conversations I do. WanNa get into and I. WE WE ARE GONNA go into spoiler, so it's going to get there. I Will Get National Story Beats. I promise but I did want to talk about. The I think just jumping right into the structure of the story for me would be a really interesting place to start because Neil you and I spoke a little bit before the game came out, and we talked a bit about sort of how the structure of the game chain through development, and I was sort of curious. If you could both talk about you know primarily, we have this sort of to factor story of the first half, really focusing on Elliot's journey, and then the second half focusing on Abbey's journey mostly in Seattle, but a little bit Jackson. How how did that story flow evolve? As you began to crack the story in figure out what you wanted to both explore? Whatever we had this kind of concept of constructive story about empathy by seeing two sides of a conflict. We had the two sides, but they are kind of distribution was different. Initially, this game was going to be open world with several different hubs. And the original was going to be playing abby. Some back story on her and her friends attack. They get rescued by Joel and Tommy and get. A. Help into Jackson and you spent a while in Jackson doing missions before some critical point, or you would reveal who she is as you would be struggling with this choice and kill Joel in annual take on his Elliott going on this journey to Seattle become the second hub of trying to find all these people in them. Eventually Confront Abby. But then as we were putting the story together, just filled with with the game, we were trying to make historic trying to tell with characters. We had our disposal. It didn't make sense for it to be open, moral and those. Aspects felt like there to conflict, and that's when really around the time like Halley, came on and kind of talk high level about the goals of what we're trying to do. And then it became more wide linear with some kind of more open areas but where we try to get to the inciting incident much more quickly, which is the death of all, and then get on with the journey, and then some point midway through switch perspectives to show Abbey set store. I don't remember yeah funny. You brought back the open world thing I don't like all right. The first like three weeks of my time at naughty dog were just like. Can we make it open world and like trying to make that work, and then realizing how much it sort of. Screws with steaks and tension building, and so we. We moved off of that, but we really played with structure. I mean throughout the entire process, so yes, the game is currently divided between largely between I. Steph Ellie second-half Abbey, but. We entertained. Inter cutting. We entertained moving parts around the flashbacks of all move I mean. The living thing this game. Yeah! I can't imagine it being an open wells. I think you're right because it is. It's source structured in a way that every every resumes when you're in an open world game, you're constantly distracted by this. Because they distracted by this little fitch quest, catch, seven chickens or something, concert imagined that interrupting the story so ultimately pleased that you went in the direction that you winton. Is Is there any sort of part of me. That thinks Oh God okay. The loss of story could be told in an open world setting. Yes, and I think we. The design team actually came with a bunch of interesting. Aspects to play in the world in open world setting and adjust. All while those ideas were interesting and provocative, they didn't fit. The characters were playing. I don't WanNa get into specifics. Wherever use any of those ideas? But it just too many things one concert each other. We have to make some hard choices as far as what game game we WANNA make. As, you're saying that the beginning. It came down to this idea of seeing empathy and telling that from two different sides and obviously something to preserve stories spoilers in where the story would go, because it does really demand, be played, I feel. It started out as you know on a like a product facing way a story about revenge. Why did? Though at the end of the day, wanting to really get down to empathy in this world, be sort of the catalyst for your interest in the story. I think that was the emotional core of what we were after. In targeted through and trying to figure out what is conflict about it? It was really to show. How Simonis characters are and how much conflict and so much of this for myself, I think the team is inspired by real world events where you have sides of conflict, and you see how they often dehumanized the other side to justify atrocious behavior. and. We felt through game. Play the putting in the shoes of Elliot to get you to fee, also ask certain feelings and put you in the second half of the game and through empathy through. Seeing the consequences, not just what you've done, but like what you've taken away. From his people get you to reflect on it. And that was kind of like what we were always after. I cannot track of of of your question. I just curious sort of of the. Sort of. Subverting that expectation, because so many of us went in expecting a revenge story, but I do things that I've taken away the most that empathy and that love and that care. That's the thing which is like maybe to a fault. We tried so hard to protect the experience players experience. We've done with the first game. Right within the last one never revealed why you're transporting Elliot from one coast to another, and ultimately the game is about the unconditional love. A parent feels for their child, and the sacrifice did. Megan is a feel to talk about that head on who will be taken away with experiences so for here? The say a here's an experience about empathy. You would play the first half. and You keep waiting for the shoe to drop. Your House is going to reflect back so instead. We presented something much simpler and then let you see how complex it is when

"Right now I'm here with Tina Amini Sam, claiborne and Lucille Brian. WHAT'S UP, everybody? Hey. Hello, there Thank you for joining me on this. Very special edition of Games cube part of June simmer gaining. We've got to talk about Sony's playstation, five future of gaming event yesterday and I give me serve overall impressions. Would you think of the show? Let's start with Tina. It Yeah I. Mean twofold right like I thought the Games were really amazing. They had thirty seven games, which is really impressive There's something exciting about every single one of them. We got to see the actual console design finally just a really big news drop their, and honestly I was just overall impressive with the production value general, especially given you know work from home mandates and working and living through the quarantine, so I thought they did a really good job. That was exciting to watch. Lucy era, a regular cast member of our place in podcast podcast beyond and I know you. did a bunch of pre and post show coverage of yesterday. What were your overall impressions okay? Festival beyond second of all. I thought that the show is great. I think as Tina said that was a great lineup of games. it. Really Tony Really positioned itself as like this is the holiday console these other games. You're only going to get up to get on playstation. Five of them were very family friendly I. Really think that that was a smart play on their part. And you know the console itself. It's wild. It's ridiculous I. Love it I think it's just like it was just really really fun Shar and I. Think Sony is kind of in the late now when it comes to this console racism. I tend to agree with that Sam I know you've been doing a lot of game on xbox. This generation did the conference yesterday. Do Anything to sort of change your mind about where you'll be spending your time. There! There's so many games across both systems that are awesome I think you're gonNA be fine with either system at this point, but man I really liked yesterday's show because I always say this I. Don't really care how the console looks. So there's this looks Kinda goofy and I don't really want it outside of my home console. I kind of want to put it in a cabinet. We'll see how that goes, but I do think. The Games are really important focus on demand. There are such such A. A huge variety of games and one thing that I need to do is start like seeing the previews of these games, which we're doing and stuff like that because I want to see what they look like Super High Rez. Glorious Four K. because I've seen is like my best youtube up. You know and like I can't really see if they look different next Gen, but they look fun and that's awesome. Like. What was it Tina thirty seven new fun games to check out now that so exacly? That's really I can't wait. I was I was a little bit shocked. At how many games there were in the conference yesterday? Also just. It's crazy to think that you know Sony backed out of the three last year. They weren't planning incoming this year, but then gets cancelled and now Sony's back with a three level conference. The Week of Winnie three would have been in like Microsoft is nowhere to be seen. It's disagrees when. Is a wild ride all statement. I. Are So good. They're like they're like so like. Did you just show the trailer? Show that there's nobody walking around and pacing. Honestly I was a little bit amazed that they were able to get. People cut out on black backgrounds for the interviews that they had like. I don't really know how they pulled that off. They look at our crazy steph back here, but they literally pro and I think they did a really good job. Just showing the important stuff and I liked that. So as as the event was going on, and we just kept seeing game after game after game I started to wonder if they were going to show, go the hardware, but of course at the they did at the end revealed the places to five hardware, and it has been It's been. It's been a talking point for sure. If a wildly different council design I'm in the camp I think it's a little a little gaudy and I much prefer the sort of. Silence Classy xbox series design, but I know that a apparently I'm in the minority there. Sixty eight percent of I, raiders say love the playstation five council design. Sam Seems to agree with me. Lucy is a little bit more in favor of it Tina. How do you feel about it? I think I'm in the like ten, or whatever other remaining percent of Jan polled readers that just don't really care. I'm fine with either way. It's going to be the system that I play hopefully the amazing games that they showcased in the conference the other day, and that's the thing that I have my mind most on, and then the controller, which looks comfortable and maneuverable. 'cause. That's obviously the vehicle by which we're experiencing the game, so the console I'll I'll throw it up next to my TV I. Don't mind either way. Yeah it's pretty cool. Very different. That is very different I like the design of the controller a lot. But I think the council. The council's pretty ugly to me. We have a quote from Sony Interactive Entertainment President Jim Ryan explaining the design choice today said the playstation sits in the living area of most homes, and we kind of felt it'd be nice to provide a design that would really grace most living areas. That's what we do and you know. We think we've been successful in that. Jim. My wife would beg to differ with you. There's no way she would let me have. But, like what? What does Jan Ryan's Living Room? Look like if that is kind of like. Just said like an easy thing to slip into it I. Mean I i. just think this design is bonkers. It's basically the of the gaming console equivalent of racing stripes on a car. It's just so silly and I love it. I love it because every other game console the. Being conservative with its design and this is just so ridiculously out there.

Is It Safe to Swim During the COVID-19 Outbreak?

"Hey, brain steph lauren bomb here. With summer fast approaching here in the northern hemisphere and government easing corona virus lockdowns. Many people are longing for days by the pool, but social distancing recommendation still remain, so is swimming in public pools or lounging on the deck especially if they're packed with strangers, safe these centers for Disease Control, and prevention or CDC, says quote. There is no evidence that covid nineteen can spread through the water used in pools, hot tubs, or water playgrounds, additionally proper operation of these aquatic venues and disinfection. Disinfection of the water with chlorine or bromine should inactivate the virus that means that the normal correct use of and disinfection of these spaces should kill the corona virus that causes covid nineteen, and that goes whether it's a chlorine or a saltwater pool, which is great news, but swimming in the pool isn't the whole story when it comes to diving into summer fun. Public pools are public spaces, so social distancing practices are still necessary. So what does a safe public pool look like? Hopefully the pool or aquatic venue you visit, we'll be following CDC guidelines for these types of settings. These recommendations include frequent cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces, maintaining good ventilation of indoor areas, spacing, the seating and standing areas, so that visitors can stay six feet or two meters, apart, marking lanes areas in the pool, and limiting or discouraging the use of shared items like goggles and kick boards, signing or regular announcements by staff, reminding visitors about safe. Safe. Practices is a good indication that the public pool or water venue is a cove nineteen safety a priority. This holds true for apartment, complexes, city, pools, and water theme parks alike, for example, although six flags Whitewater in Marietta, Georgia near this podcast homebase remains closed as of this recording, the park has created and shared. It's health and safety reopening plan which had developed in coordination with epidemiologists. The plan includes requiring guests and T members. Members wear masks and temperature checks for both groups, when and if your local pools do open heading to the pool, just like visiting any other space indoors or outdoors requires the practice of safe behaviors for starters, anyone who's shown symptoms of Covid nineteen tested positive for Covid, nineteen or been exposed to someone with covid

Evan You - Reimagining the Modern Dev Server with Vite

"Want to have you on the show. I think had you on like three times or something recently. You a kind of have been working on released early versions of a new. I guess you'd call it like a bill tool slash development server Called so what's gotTa Store I? Yeah Yeah it's funny I was. I was having trouble finding a good term to describe what it is. So essentially it's it's a combination of deaths over plus built step so I don't really know how to define that because I guess like there are some similar projects in the ecosystem like Something some projects are just a death server. Some projects are just a Butler like roll up and some projects are more like all in one parcel but parcel is still like built on top of the concept of a Bundler and so the the core premise is I think bundling should is unnecessary or should be done as little as possible during development and idea actually came up a long time ago like a year ago so before I started working with you three actually I realized Oh you can use style. Type equals model in modern browsers now so we have the ability to use native. Es module imports directly in the browser. So why are we still trying to use a Bundler to analyze these imports statements in trying to stitch all the together when the browser can just parse this and import them as suspect? So the idea. Okay so if you have a local error that when you have a deficit you can intercept all these H. P. requests to the server right. So you get to do anything with them you can even if you get a request for non Jaaz file you can transform into a jazz file and send it back as a jazz file and the Browser is fine with that right. So that leads me to the idea of what if I can compile a view on the server and sent a back plane J s so that led to a project view Dev server which is now archived but that was essentially the first proof of concept? For what later on turning to so that was actually Working version a native. Es Import based Steph server that allows you to just import of in the browser and it will just return the compiled view component directly. And that worked out really well right. And the you know in terms of development experienced nice thing is it's not really any different from starting a static file server so instead of having to wait for a build process a bundling step. I guess if you've worked with WESTPAC kind of used to every time you started server is like waiting to compile four five seconds later in finally the Browser But you know with this approach. The several almost starts instantly like less than two hundred millisecond. Because all you're doing is starting to listen for request to not doing a bunch of work and then Louis. Right quests right so there's literally no work to be done when the service starts and the real work only starts. When the browser starts sending Pete requests an assigned benefit of that approach is We will so. The server will still have to compile these files right but the the import graph crawling is down by the browser. The Browser Analyzes Your Java script and decides what file to fetch next so the only thing the ceremonies to do is to take these requests and decide how to compiled and send them back so there is still compulsion happening but the compilation is happening on the new site. So you can use any no jazz tooling to do the compilation as we can literally support anything and when you sent them back the cool part is the server only needs to compile the files that are actually requested right so imagine if you have a huge project of five thousand files but these five thousand files probably are related to twenty different screens. Yeah and now. You're working only one single screen which only be have a hundred files then. The server only have to compile those one hundred dollars to make the current screen work unlike a Bundler. If you start a bottler in dot project has to actually craw all five thousand files compiled them access? Just has to do the same thing which is compile every single fun. Yeah exactly so. That actually is a pretty convincing scaling argument when you project gets big. So that's essentially the core premise. That let me to sort of push this a bit further so in the beginning. I was only focused on compelling view because I personally really wanted adapt server that conscious work like simple to be server and but allows me to import view files but as I worked on it I realize. Hey this is really nice and It can actually worked for any file format. Not just you files right. So I added support for t s that's CSS Model and turns out. It's pretty straightforward as support for these kinds of things when you have a right architecture so internally the server is a car server and all of these different things are just a color middle. Wears that's injected so each middleware will look at a request. See if it's Oh it's a file than out intercept this one component it back. Yeah that's really CL- yeah. What was sort of the motivation? I guess like was it just because he thought this was an interesting idea and it was like. Why isn't anyone pursuing this or is it? You know I'm running into actual pain points with the current setup and I need to come up with something better. Yeah so. Funding is the roots. I mean I had the idea so I mentioned I had idea last year. But that was of just like Random like what if we can make this work but I didn't push it further because I felt like at that time I had ninety two module replacement and didn't support like resolving dependencies from note modules. So it wasn't really anything close to useful for a real project but this is I was looking at it. I realized hey like this would potentially actually work and if I can make this work. I can reviewed rebelled view. Press on top of this instead. Wet Pack so the the core frustration that drove to all this was when I was working on if you pressed documentation side and it took like five seconds to actually boot up the view press server to me to be able to edit a single mark now file so house like I've had enough with this Like this shouldn't I shouldn't have to wait for five seconds to just to be able to enter the dockside right. It's all static files so and I realized. Oh like veto model is perfect for this. 'cause like when you are working on something like of you press cite. You're always almost only working on a single page right. And that's angle pages is a huge component to. Why would I have to compile all these other pages to for me to be able to work on this page so That kind of kind of clicked? Okay like if I can make this work. Then I can rebuild view press on top of this so it's kind of like it started out as an attempt to rebuild view press but then it kind of turned into his own thing I realized. Oh it's more than just For satisfied generator. It's actually a fully capable deaf setup that can support a lot of use

"Hi. Everyone you're so punctual. So the first few minutes of this. We're going to last time we kind of went into it right away and work on a scrambling going to be a little bit more lighter fare to start give folks a chance to get into the into the zoom and then we'll head into the agenda mostly. The meat of the agenda will be having to do with One Mr Dominic team not old. I mean not not only but like we haven't covered that at all on the show. There's GonNa be a game later on that we will play. We'RE NOT GONNA burn you at that this time. It's kind of like in the bane of a newlywed game. I was big on a game shows growing up. I was watching the game show network all the time and so we have ten categories. That were each gonna guess what the other person's answer is. If that's interesting to you at all a little self-indulgent hopefully it'll be fun this is although the prepping for this stuff goes. I put stuff on the agenda. And then he she goes. Is Anybody going to give a shit about that like literally every single thing that we add first off? Y'All watched Naomi today with Stephanos. Kill Bill as an old movie I discovered today. I was in college when Kill Bill came out so it made me feel really upset. I loved Steph was actually taking notes writing down the name of kill bill so he could ruin to watch it. I'm shocked that he hadn't seen it. Feel free to use the chat a lot while you're in the in the meeting for now. If you want. You can mute yourself on and talk with us. We'll let you know when we're getting into like the more serious often than will mute the room. Yeah and not to be or anything. Is Serena so on life. She was doing like her home shopping. Network thing starting at five I think Venus I mean Venus. Has that stuff on lock? Like her lives are so professional. She's got an assistant vineyard questions. It's amazing she so like this is obviously her future career if she wants it. If you watched a lot of you said you didn't watch it but if you watched the naming with Stephanos today I don't see how you come away from watching that with a better impression of him thank. He came off a such a Dick at every turn. I personally am not gonna go that far. I felt like he was. It was awkward. I'm I going to say he was a Dick A D. But we have. We have what I feel like. I feel like the sensor my language yet. He's just a little weird right. He Naomi Post them very straightforward questions. And he can failed to answer them in any kind of normal way. That was my take away from it. They've had this song and dance going on for about a year. No where initially folks were like. What's going on? Are they seeing each other? And it just became very clear to me from the start that it's this high school thing where the boy is so afraid and while I don't take words of Miami's Mo- but afraid of different way. Intimidated doesn't hold actor rounder. And at the end of it she's like you know. I know you thought that I was afraid but I hope this shows that it. I wasn't like dude. Nobody's nobody's coming for you for being afraid of new meals you or just chill. Naomi did well though I as someone who is not naturally predisposed to like being on video like I'm talking about myself now. I think Naomi trying to get better and getting more Like forcing herself to be extroverted is really cool and really scary for somebody WHO's. Who's not naturally like that? You're probably never make the switch like your personality is not. GonNa Change but it's really like to jump out of her comfort zone like that and actually be pretty good at it at school is Joyce. She's also the highest paid woman in sports right now. Yes she is that girls right now. It didn't take Philip and John Lung to start with the mess they ask. Did she ask about Ilan? She sure did but it wasn't. It wasn't even a question it was like you might get mad at me for asking this question but you like Elon. Musk period and that was like that was the question and he talked about. I don't know how he's a genius. This is the first guy like outside of NASA to invent rockets. And I don I have no idea what he's talking about but you can go watch it back if you're interested it. S something that I've seen so many different takes on when Venus had Naomi unhurt instagram for the workout. He says I'm happily surprised at the boundary between Venus and was a lot of folks. Were like that was painful to watch. But like if you know me you know that this is a huge improvement. I think speaks to more Venus being unprepared for that situation. Okay as I was when I interviewed new one on one like a few years ago. It's it's actually a a harrowing experience if you're not prepared because everything that you think about what an interview will be and how you prepare yourself is completely out the door there. There are no rules. Yeah well she's really funny but in a unconventional way like a very awkward way.

Limited Time Gaming Events: Yay or Nay?

"This week. We all know that animal crossings. Museum Day Stamp. Rally event has started. And this comes the question delimited time evincing games. Are they good or are they bad or they fun? Are they stressful or are they something in between to some games do that well to other games do it poorly what do you think what do you think about limited time events inside games? For example Animal Cross Caesium Day stamp. Rally the Cherry blosser. Diy Events and all of those other things will the animal crossing events are really interesting to me to in this in this question specifically because like generally I don't mind limited time events in Games but also I think of those in the context of online games or multiplayer games with big communities that you're interacting with other people and so like the item that you got at that point is kind of like a badge of honor of like. I've been playing this long that I got to be at this event. At this time you know stuff like Monster Hunter or any M. O. Or or dislike legal legends did a lot of leg limited time events are stone. Does all these events like the VAT type of thing. I never really minded. It's a little different. I don't mind it in animal crossing either but it's a little different than it is like primarily single player game. Obviously this is a similar thing of like you can show off you know. I'm sure there's somebody out there who's got that guards and they're like you know I was there for the Easter event with my Anger Arch. But like it's less thrilling when it something that you're just sort of building for your own collection. I think that that's kind of my initial my gut reaction. I think you putting your finger on something there. I actually animal. Crossing fundamentally is is structured around the calendar year. Right there events that you come back for some of the attraction is to come back and see what? Christmas looks like what Easter looks like in the game so I actually really liked that. I don't think they've yet fully connected the dots on how to let everybody in then celebrate like if you take like a a fortnight concert event for example is this giant thing where everybody rallies around. It's a big story online and yet the Easter eggs stuff was pretty big around Across thing to if you're on social media it was mostly people complaining that they got so many eggs but there is kind of like the starting point of something that uses an event to create a connection between people. I think ultimately those other ones where that I like split tune was a great example of timed events to like haven't been you break into teams and rally around the these two teams and align with one was really really fun from a you know. Working Dad perspective. It's never awesome dead. They are time limited in had to miss out on some of them because I was doing something else and on a trip or spending time with family but I. I fundamentally like that stuff. Yeah I think I think the time items especially when it comes to like weapons armor or super cool. I think it's like when you see somebody in game. And you see the geared. They've got because they did sometimes event. It's it shows like. Oh this person's really hardcore. They've got this super rare item from this time to vent interesting. It just doesn't necessarily fit with how I play games like typically like I don't do a ton of jumping back into stuff after I've been away and I thought that animal crossing would be the game that would like really ingratiate me into time events but I haven't picked it up in weeks in the museum. If anything was going to get me back into it it would have been the museum events but I you know I I think at this point is well. I had my time with it. I I enjoyed it and now onto other stuff but I don't necessarily disagree with the idea. The pair there's definitely some kind of pressure or some sort of like a gamers anxiety around getting all of those specific items or or things in that timeframe like when when march was ending in people are trying to catch who dump fisherman were crossing. There was one fish sealer camp. No not the different fish anyway. The everybody on my mind was like I've been fishing for four hours. I've spent hundred fifty strengthening. That is still haven't caught the string fish and it was getting to the point where people are like just event ends in three hours. And I don't have a string fish. What am I going to do that? I also commiserate with that in that I don't want to have to the Cherry blossoms actually was the problem where people you know. The people fell lake. There was a task list of things that you needed to accomplish. But they couldn't because the recipes were released over time rights catching the cherry blossom petals and seeing other people craft things but not being able to them themselves so they was a little bit of that anxiety with it but I think it depends on. What kind of Gamer you are? I I have no problem. That didn't get the Cherry blossom fan or something in time. You can come back next year. You can time travel this year. You Yeah I think steph completion EST thing right like please just need to have all that stuff in the time frame and I've never been that so I used to be that man. I used to be that so hard with games. Where anytime a seasonal would come out. I would need to hit every single thing the when I was really really into Hurston Art Stone. I came out I was like I need to get every single card back that they release every single time they release new card back and then there was a car. You could only get one a tournament in China or something like that and I was like. Oh while okay fair you know that feeling with Bebo and those special monster Hunter Amoeba right or like the Lebow Joy Khan and stuff like that and I think part of me sort of just like gave our like and I think I'm better for it where I was just like okay you know. I don't need absolutely everyone of those things. But I tell who sympathized with the people that are like that. Because I've been there and it's it's a really like suffocating feeling especially in the case of like the Cherry blossom thing where it's like you are playing every day but now he's you still not getting everything

The Most Impactful Marketing Article Neil & Eric Read for 2020

"Super committed to your success online. We've worked with them. To a special offer just remarking school listeners. All you have to do is go to dream. Host DOT COM slash marking school to learn more and get your website online today. Welcome to another episode of Marketing School. I'm Eric Su and I'm Neil Patel and today we're GonNa talk about the most impactful marketing article that needle and I have read for twenty twenty so I'll go first and Neil. You can feel free to chime in but one thing I read the other night. It's from this guy named J. J. A. Y. Couso Oh it's a C. U. N. Z. O. I think butchering the name again. I mentioned it to episodes ago if you Google Marketing. Show runners experience steph troms. You'll be able to find what I'm talking about and I think this is probably one of the most important things I've read in a while because you realize that everyone talks about especially. We talked about this on the PODCASTS. All the time we talk about Oh you have to produce content yet to produce content produce content but like you realize that there's just like this entire sea of garbage content and people are just producing CONTO CON. It's very transactional people are doing. Keyword research on Uber suggest whatever it is and it's just they're covering the answer right there but the problem is create transactional content. What happens is people? Come they get the answer and they leave. And that's it bounced that's it right whereas if you create an experience transactions the first part of the spectrum on the very far end of the spectrum as you take people on a journey right. It's about eight thousand words or so but it caused me to rethink everything we do right. It's okay how good are we? Driving an experience with our blogs with our podcast with the events that Neil and I do they're all at different ends of the spectrum like the products that I put together right or products that Neil does too. It's all about the experience. And if you don't create a good experience if you don't obsess over customer near contents do anything so in that post it was actually talking by making like a show that people love like marketing podcast. Which is funny. Because there's no mention of us and I'm like men may be were very transactional podcasts. I don't know but part of me thinks dot what we've been able to do with this is to be able to take people we've been able to build a community around it so the community is right before the journey right so it's literally you have a transactional of content. That's the first step. The second tier might be. You have an expert so I mentioned an expert might be like a sports analyst so I hear might be sports scores. The second one might be a sports analyst giving you the scores and that might give a little more authority there but then you cross over to building a community so at community example might be Neil night doing the growth accelerator group that we have right that is creating experience. That's creating a bond. That's very hard to duplicate anywhere else. And the beyond that. You're taking people on a journey so I really think everyone should read this at listening to this because it will reframe how you think about things and caused you to think twice about going out there and producing content for condensate. Because that's why a lot of stuff doesn't grow doesn't grow that quickly. It's because it's very ho-hum US neil yet. So my favorite article for the year so far and session at article two video but it's on marketing is Russell Brunson's Ot owes of your on Youtube search for Russell Brunson. Oto otiose stands for a one time offer and he breaks down no matter what kind of products service you're selling SASS product subscription ECOMMERCE. It doesn't matter you can make money through a upsell upon your checkout and you can have multiple works so well do you do it. Yeah and you guys already all know this so I'm not gonNA say hey you need add up saw because everyone already knows that but what he does. He breaks the copy. You should use. You don't have to be as aggressive as him. He breaks down the layout. You should use and what you need. A copy step-by-step and it just works and it's an easy way to make more money and it's not rocket science. I everyone can do it. It's super simple if you guys have a website your website because a chance. Are you trying to sell something? Or people subscribe something or generate a lead and his process teaches you the exact page to us to make more money from whatever type of business you have doing up cells right and people. Can I mean if you guys want to see examples of this you can go to click funnels DOT COM and Russell? Brunson actually has an active challenge called the one funnel away challenge and in there. You can basically WanNa buy his product You County. You can basically funnel him. That's a term that he uses to see how that one time offer works. So yeah I mean I think both contexts pieces

Creating Implied Nude Photographs

"A welcome back to another episode of this week in photo. I'm your host Frederik Van Johnson. Today on the show. I have the distinct pleasure of having a good friend of Mine Mr Grainger. You've seen it on the show before this time. He's joined by somebody. That's more cool than he is. Stephanie Fam- she happens to be a model and several other things that we're going to learn about during this interview. She and Matt collaborated on a project tutorial a training course on implied nude photography. So they're kind of the one two punch in that industry right now. We're GONNA. We're GONNA talk about some of the secrets that that photographers need to know about. In order to be successful in that genre photography and sort of avoid some of the pitfalls that that a lot of people fall into so men's Stephanie. Welcome to the show. How you guys doing yeah. Welcome welcome welcome okay so first of all before we before we kick this off. Stephanie can you tell us who you are? We all know who that is. So whatever but we don't you want to know about you and then we'll get to you. They will dive into the interview. Stephanie Fam- P. H. A. M. Pronounced Fam- like family tells about you what's your what's your involvement in this project. Hi Okay so I'm Stephanie. Fam often so I- model and I've been modeling for about ten years now and I have experienced an implied nucor gestures for about five years and in the correspondingly. I actually like give my two cents in terms of like the models perspective. Because like I feel like there's a lot of things that the photographer could learn more about the model side that could actually help improve their photos and also communication with the models. So that's pretty much are involved my involvement in terms of like how the course goes I guess myself personally besides model a also acting. I also have my own youtube channel. Who the yeah? I'm always busy workaholic. Content Creator. That's what you are contact. Magritte give us the elevator pitch for you. You and I met a long time ago. You were doing. You've since rebranded but back then you were doing stuff very specific to Nikon and now you've shifted. You've seen the mega you've seen the but you you've rebranded away from being brand specific tells about that journey a little bit so well to be honest. I I had the name that nicotine guy which I chose the day that I started the channel. Which actually we just had. I think it was the eighth anniversary a year anniversary. Forget the but it was definitely the end of January when I started the channel and it was just because I had a bag full of nick on equipment so I thought let's reach out and get the nickel and uses leitch at least but I'd never only looked at nick on gear and only all only used nick on Gade and it got to the point. Basically where was with one of my businesses advises? He kind of was brainstorming with me saying so. What's the best case? Scenario would be what you become an ambassador. But they wouldn't be able to talk about other brands and you wouldn't be able to give your honest opinion if it was negative about nick on gave which. I didn't want that and on the other hand you know. Think of an outsider photography. Gm is going to work with that for guy. No and if you're a food lover you may not want to view a channel Code. Gm Guy so seeing not only doing the economy. How bad just make it my night. But because it'll half of what I'm doing is actually about travel or technique oil eating seafood with my cats. That's not half my content that it's a lot of a lot of it's a lot of it. It's not just Nikon camera by cats are right here. Don't say anything bad because they're looking But I think with Steph. Seeing tra- she was a little bit too modest way. We've been working together for close to three years now. The she was that I think the first model. I will definitely the first model in the states that I really connected with. Getting working with an ongoing basis She still comes all the way up from Philly to New York to work whenever we're filming together and she brings a lot more to the table than just standing in a beautiful APP in front of a camera. So I've learned a lot from her about posing and to be honest about shed juuling and a lot of things about getting the most out of my time and amy good model at you know. I don't need to soften the She knows where I'm going with this but being a great modal isn't about being exceptionally good. Looking a great motivator. Someone who knows that poses knows they Anglesey's professionals reliable. Who's good tool book with Tixx Direction? Who understands the goal of the shoot and helps you get the and often the most amazing models I've worked with? Steph is an exception because she is very beautiful as well. The you wouldn't even notice them on the street it's once they hit their pose that everything lights up for the camera. It's not about looking like you just walked off a magazine cover. Shoot all the time so. It's all of that experience that I really wanted to bring to the series because in any shoot that I have with Steph. At least half of the Pos inspiration comes from her and from her experience and having worked with so many different photographers so she has a lot to bring to the table in the series rather than just dropping in a little sense here and there it was really about trying to show both sides of the process. Because you can't get I think anyway you kind of get consistent good results. If you're not both comfortable in a shoot and it goes twofold efforts a noodle revealing shoot and I think maybe even more so when as implied because if it's new to toot so nothing can accidentally slip into the shot. If it's implied but someone's efforts you don't have established relationship of trust. They may that element of is more going to be show and then I was intending. So let's find the part of the discussion around nude verses implied versus you know what here in the United States the United States is well known for its hypocrisy in in in puritanical. Type behavior right you know. We can show nuclear bombs taking on takeout on tire cities. But if you show a nipple that's the end of the world right so so let's put a fine point on that from the experts. Both of you guys. So what is what like where. How do you and your minds professional content creators? That that play in this genre. How do you define nude verses implied versus porn versus whatever right because people lump all that stuff together? How do you split out? I'll jump in and then if you WANNA tank it's It's I think it's a really good question and I hate to not give a precise answer but I think the fact that that is so imperfectly defined. He's wear a lot of the the issues. Come from that settling again that we were trying to do in. This course is to be clear that what I consider to be implied Abu Bwa or too much and not tasteful anymore will be different to staff will be different to. You will be different in every viewer so you actually need to have that conversation really explicitly and clearly each time with the model. Because they've I've shot with Steph a hundred times now more than that. I know this is what she's cool with this. What she's not cool with the stuff I we haven't shot so better. Check that with her but a lot of it. We can actually take for granted. Now that doesn't mean that if I go and shoot with another model day going to be cool and cool with the same stuff so you need to have those conversations again so if you're showing that shut there have asked sitting on her back. You know if you were saying okay. So it's going to be a new back but once you any private parts so for some people that may mean a little bit of bomb. Crises fine for some will may not at all it needs to be side on. Be Really really specific about it. So if we'RE NOT SHOWING NIPPLES. Does that mean showing the entire breast other? The Nipple is okay or wait intending not to show breasted all. It may seem pedantic but you really want to be totally clear on that. So that that takes the guesswork if before you get to the shoot we've both said Okay. These long laundry list of things Not going to be shot. That's cleared and these specific. Things are what we're shooting for. That takes a Lotta the guesswork out of there and something that we talk about in this series is and I think this is where and it's justified. I think there is a bad reputation in this part of the kind of I don't know there's mud in the water to explain it exactly because there are dodgy photographers out there. Who was saying. We're going to shoot. These actually may be shooting more end up sharing things. They said they weren't going to so. I think the key concept is if we've agreed that X. Y. Z. Said aunt going to be shown in the final image. Then why the hell that I need to be shown at the photo

Time to Reset Your Health

"Hello and welcome to this week's show. I'm Janet Lewis and Dr Louis and we are here to bring you another exciting show about your health We are calling this when it's time to reset your health because as the country resets their clock and gets back to business and a new normal. It's time that we do the same thing with our health we've Been home many of us and not doing things that are real great for us There are many of you that have we're going to address that as well But there's a whole lot that's been maybe overeating overdrinking doing some things. That might not have been as conducive to your health as what it should be. Even our little dog gained a half a pound during it eating wrong thing so well. She's actually eating right thing. She just ate too much of it. Which is a possibility as well and so Dr List today is going to educate us about What happens to deliver whenever that kind of thing happens The you know the dangers of what drinking too much does to deliver how to get some of that back. We're GONNA talk about doing lab work. Which if the people out here are new. And they don't know about lab work now is the time to get started with finding out. What's going on with your lab will address. That will address. What's in the lab work that helps us to know whether your liver is having an issue and those of you that are needing to do lab work again. Maybe this will kind of prompt you into knowing it's time to get started and kind of getting a new lease on life. So Dr Lewis. Can you guide US and help us with this new normal and help us find our way back to hell or start our health walk? Yeah well I hope to You know first of all you have to know route from wrong Wrongs the fun. Yep Got US in trouble We're GONNA talk about all kinds of things and you know I have people that come in. Well I can't lose weight or this or this. The problem is they're focusing incorrectly. And it's really hard to sometimes get somebody to understand. It's really about your focus and where you're putting your energy Only when you see the wellness that you won't rather than illness that you have. Will you heal? It's really that simple. But that's not simple today The the fear weakens your immune system and we've seen many many examples of that so we're mostly Gio. Janet wanted talk about liver She didn't want to because we she was reading. An article says Drinking you know kind of decreases. Your mental function is like well battering now. I don't drink habe never have but Sometimes people have a better liver than others. And you know I learned when I was not paying a slow metabolize. Alcohol therefore can do much but some of the liver symptoms that you may not think about could be dizziness. Dry Skin barring feet Itchy skin blurred vision. Some people take labor stuff and say well. Yeah I don't know it's weird my Beijing's better Excessive hair falling out Skin Rashes Metallic taste exam for example. But you know liver gallbladder feeling queasy or headaches over the Is or after a high fat meal. You're having issues burping belching bloating WanNa throw up can be a liberal slash gall bladder and you know if you think you have a bad issue you should always see a GI doctor in tarnished. If you're stools get light colored or Greasy Green he to use laxatives all the time. It could be any to be a lot of other things but Livers really important and I say this about the liver and I said about the thyroid. It you know it's L. saying if mom ain't happy nobody happy The liberal functions about pretty high select. I think it's a court and a half of blood it filters per minute and that's a lot so it has to convert things conversion of Glucose And actually protein into fat It acts as a storage storage unit for vitamins minerals. Sugar aren't and other needed compounds. There's so many possibilities and pretty much Janet. I don't have any notes for the show so forgive me if I really go down the rabbit trails but I think maybe he's been drinking too much. I'm not really sure now. Just kidding not yet. I wish you know we're talking amount of Munich system too and we're GONNA get into that cows. Brian Ask something about what did I think was best You know one thing you have to do to build them in house. You have to reduce inflammatory triggers and that could be many different things you have to build a metabolic reserve and the reason I went. The PODS Container Has Gone!

"Well we started last week's episode with our pods container just having gotten delivered and we started this week with it just having been picked up. Yeah it was a momentous thing to see it. Roll out be well. God's all the things I love yes it was a little bit more nerve racking than I expected it to be because we have used a pod before when we had our floors refinished and this house just downstairs so we had to move all the furniture and our first floor out of the House and we put it in a pod in the driveway. But you know that didn't have to go anywhere. It didn't get transported on a truck states away to new place to be dropped down. It just sat still rate. You know what I'm realizing right now. We have never not been with the stuff that we've moved ever in our whole lives. Yeah every other move. We've done up to this. Point has been basically a local move between places in Richmond apart from moving from New York here fourteen years ago but minivan van me and John Oliver Steph. It is the first time in a while that we've made an interstate move and so when we moved from our first house to our second house and then later to our current house. Our Third House here in Richmond like those are all within miles of each other and we did like just little trips like packing the car with stuff one day coming back the next afternoon like it was really easy. I think we took one truck for each move like we did. Use A u-haul rented truck for just like an afternoon like it was not a big deal right and that's how we also furnish the duplex and the beach us. We rented a U haul. Once put our stuff in it but we've always been like the driver of our things and it's not that I think we have any mistrust in pods driving. It itself is just a funny feeling to watch all of your possessions leave. You like going ahead of you and we are here and what. I have dubbed pod Purgatory. Because as we wait for the PIE to make its way to Florida over two weeks. We can't get there. The House isn't ready for US ANYWAY. And we wouldn't have any of her stuff so we just kind of hang out of the. House for two weeks wait for the pods to land and then in two weeks we do the journey. That pot is doing ahead of us. Yes our timeline. Right now is that we are hoping to make the move to Florida sometime. The first week of May because that's when the pod is scheduled to arrive there. That's when our contractor says. It should be ready for us to come move our stuff in and so that starting to feel like the week things are GonNa Happen. I'm knocking on all the wood because everything seems to be up in the air these days but I think that two week window is another thing. We didn't really wrap our heads around until recently because again having only done local moves before it's always been this kind of like a gradual process into the new house. Where if we forgot something at the old house we could like run back and get it. But that's not really an option here like we have to be much more organized and basically just have one shot at getting everything packed between the pod. That's going down and then we can fit in our car when we actually go down the first week of May. Yeah so what remains in our houses just like you know the linens on the beds that were still sleeping in because we did sell the beds to the new owners along with about fifty percent of our stuff because that house being less than half the size of this house means we certainly would be not smart debris one hundred percent of the seven this house because it would have nowhere to land in Florida. Yes there's a lot of stuff here. I mean I should point out. We're also fortunate that because we sold so much to the new owners that it's still fairly comfortable here while we wait out these two weeks before we can go because like Sherry said. We'VE GOT BEDS. We have a TV. We have a couch upstairs. Bonus Room so like apart from having the discomfort of like not having all of our kitchen stuff and not all of our close like. We basically packed a suitcase that we're living out for two weeks. Yeah but it's really not bad and then you know what the cool thing has been as we've shared this stuff. We're sharing a lot of stuff as we've gone in stories so if you ever want like real day to day stuff that's where to follow us but as we share it we've heard from so many people who've done these big moves even those who are you know in the military or who have done these like international moves to other countries and they have said it's fairly standard to be without your stuff for a while. Sometimes two weeks sometimes even four weeks and so a lot of people said. We do folding chairs. We do air mattresses. We do like basically camping as a way to make your food. You One pan and you have a hot pot and all this stuff. I think we really are lamping. We have four burner stove like this. House has all the appliances still. We have our beds but we do have fully empty rooms some pictures in the show notes of some rooms. This house vacant and some rooms like our entire dining room remains our entire bonus room still here except for one table that we took. Actually I think this week on the blog post a video tour our house in two stages so one will be how it looked when we sold it. So like right before the showings happened and everything was cleaned and in its perfect spot. We took video. I haven't watched it yet so hopefully it's good but that will give you a sense of what the house looked like at its finished state and then we're going to try to shoot a video this week of what it looks like now. That has been packed up. I think that will answer a lot of questions for people who are wondering. Like what exactly did you leave? What did you take so you'll be able to see the contrast between those two things so that should be on the blog this

"steph" Discussed on The Stephen A. Smith Show

"Now the straight talk came last night in the form of Steph curry coming back to the warriors. No they didn't win the game. The warriors still lost and we all know that the warriors have won fourteen games this year. A far cry from where they've been but even in a loss to a very good Toronto team Steph Game Out gave us twenty three seven and seven and the Shimmy. We all missed right so when you see the Shimmy you get sort of this level of confidence as air. The warriors felt different last night. The question is would this just being the tip of the iceberg? Remember they're going to get Klay Thompson back next year. They're going to get a high level draft pick. All that comes together can steph actually bring the warriors back to their former dynasty. Now I want to get your thoughts on that triple eight say. Espn eight eight eight. Seven two nine three seven. Seven six can steph get the warriors back to their former dynasty level dominic foxworth and Max Kellerman were joined by. Espn get up host. Mike Greenberg today and they debated what's next for the warriors. Yes he can and by the way when you say former dynasty. Let's remember in the beginning. What that really was right. It was against the cavs team. And then they lost to the cast and then they got K. D. Right. So will they be as good as they were with? K. D. OF COURSE. Not unless they replaced with some kind of approximation. And since you probably won't get a guy's GonNa pay the dynasty mean is a dynasty mean. You must win the championship every year. Because I don't see it that way. I see the same core group of guys making championship runs every year. And you gotta mix some championships into the spurs headed is the they didn't win it every year. But this warriors dynasty really when you when you boil it down to it's essential element is starts with Steph Curry. The next essential element is dream on Green. Pick and roll partner. Who's the do everything guy? Then there's Klay Thompson the shooter and then really when they were either had Andrea Guatemala or the Superman version of that. Which is Kevin? Durant the two-way wing operating at whatever level? You WanNa talk about who can do multiple things. They have steph. They have draymond. They're getting some version of clay back. They have draft picks. They have wiggins they will put the horse. They will put the band back together so whether or not they win back to back. Titles they will win another champion. They have another challenge in this group. C I can't argue with that because you've bar for what a dynasty is. They absolutely not get back to anyone else's any normal person's definition of a dynasty absolutely they will not get back to that and I do see that the landscape in coming in the coming years is a bit open because we don't know how long it's going to be there. We don't know how long Lebron's going to be in La. So I think that the West maybe opening near future and I don't think it's not a question that steph curry given the right talent around them could possibly get them to be competitive. Get Him back to a championship but dynasty absolutely not you have to dominate the sport to be a dynasty. I agreed with every word you said except for the first one because the first word you said was yes whereas I believe the first word you should have said was no because everything he then said argues against the notion of it they cannot get back to what they were unless they get Kevin Durant back Steph. Curry is great. He changed the sport in a way that few players in history have and he is as much fun to watch as practically any player of all time but that team became dynasty because they got Kevin Durant they became one of the greatest teams of all time because of Kevin Durant. And unless they get him back. They don't get back to any approximately ask you a question. This since they were two championship appearances win a championship. Followed by seventy three win team. That barely lost by a possession at home in game seven on the Brawn James. His greatest night. Basically that was the original thing. Then the advocate Bob Myers GM entire organization. Look what they've been able to pull off now. Look at what they have in the treasure trove right like look at the look at the potential energy. They have in draft picks and whatever value wiggins can have if he's not the keeper. And you mean to tell me. They can't identify a third wheel or second wheel to go with Steph. Who's even better than clay or dream on with a high I and unprotected first round pick I in seconds coming up and wiggins that's positive ideas there what the next step is dynasty. That's I think I think green and I agree with you that they could be competitive. They could get in another championship. They might even win another championship dynasty implies that they are dominating the sport. That's what I think of dinosaurs. You think of this burs. Yes the Spurs were a dominant force. They were in contention every one multiple championship the same for heat another guy. No they can't be as I never went back to back not one time. Oh absolutely understand. That got bounced bars are the low end of the Dynasty. And they were great for a long time but you talk about dynasties more about concentrated time where they dominate the sport. They cannot do what they did in the bar for. Dynasties with the warriors put together in recent history. No because I don't care what approximation of draft picks or players out there. You Ain't getting Kevin Durant see. I think that basketball has a very different threshold for being a dynasty than the other sports in football I would agree with you making multiple runs and winning one every now and again mixed in there makes you a dynasty. But if you look at what the Lakers have done. Historically the Shatt Koby Lakers magic Karim Lakers and others. If you look at what Jordan did in Chicago you don't just win every now and again and get their. The Spurs became a dynasty because they stayed that good that long with that coach and that one star player. But that's not a Michael Jordan spoiled. Everybody no one else. Does that three in a row. And then when he comes back three in a row checking three in a row that was only other pair and that's the pairing of the two highest kind of talent guys where it's evenly distributed of all time to get Katie. You're saying that they can't get K. D. but Janas will be a free agent eventually probably there are other superstars in the NBA. Well within the question. Is Kim Courage? Take you then. It's not current carrying you. The question Ken Kern cared the warriors to a dancing. If you're bringing Janas cars carrying I take your take on. Espn Radio Jason. Fitz part of the problem. Here's how defined dynasty. You just kept hearing them talk about. What the offer dynasty is in fact one quote you have to dominate a sport to be a dynasty well. What constitutes domination winning championships? See in the moment we can have a conversation about how great Golden State was. And can anybody ever get back to that? Maybe not I mean. Maybe we'll never see that level of continual winning at a regular season clip year in and year out. But they don't need to come back and win championships. You're talking about clay you're talking about. They already have draymond. And now you're talking about Steph. You're talking about a trio of players that absolutely can go out not even talking about what wiggins could mean any drastic. You're talking about a trio of players that can win championships. And in the moment we may not want to give that credit but if they really off a couple of championships will history not look at that as a continuation of a dynasty. It would be one year off due to injury with a continuation a dynasty. So absolutely. Can they ever win to the level that they won no but does winning alone without a championship created dynasty? No Championships create dynasties. It's I take your take on. Espn radio I'll take your take on it. You can tweet me at Jason Fitz Bunch. You guys already tweeting us. Say No next year a lot of comments about next year. Well that's what we're talking about. Obviously we don't think it's going to go on a run and take him to a championship this year. Come on help me out a little bit here. In the meantime we're also asking you guys to Chime in with the closest athlete in Sports. Right now to a shack level of dominance getting tweets on that also triple eight say. Espn eight eight eight seven nine. Three seven seven six checks fortieth birthday. So we're giving Shaq a little bit of love Get some votes here for Tyson fury at this point Stephen Strasburg Maximum Missouri. Who Do you have? As the closest athlete in sports right now to shacks level of dominance. Yeah I would go with John Jones and the UFC. The man has lost in a very challenging sport. Now I don't hate that call. I mean that is a level Adama. I think those are the problem with when we shack. Level dominance we think so much about the physical aspect of it. And it's hard for me to separate that Owen in Connecticut who you got the closest athlete sports right now to shack. Level of dominance. Well I think it's pretty obvious. Scare call I mean the guys out everybody he I mean he's he's dominant. You wins every game each starts. He's crazy well and look. I don't disagree that he's dominant. The problem is most people wouldn't know Garrett Cole if you walked into the starbucks that's the baseball problem. We have all the time. Riley people queue rating the just doesn't resonate the same way and it's harder to put into clips and highlights. I understand that's part of the burden of the Beast. Assam comes in with Derrick Henry. But he does it in a clever way. I love the fact that he put a Jeff Derrick Henry. Absolutely manhandling somebody and we'll keep taking your thoughts. "Welcome to Warriors Awkward The San Francisco Chronicle's NBA podcast. I'm your host where he's beat Radyr Connor Attorney and on today's episode. I'm joined by Longtime Chronicle Sports Writer. Rusty Simmons who has been helping me out on the words begin this during our conversation rusty and I went in-depth on Steph Curry's return from a broken hand and what is presence could mean for golden state the rest of the season so here we are. Esti on lower bull of chase center watching chasing her floor be deconstructed before our very eyes after the warriors fell one. Twenty one hundred thirteen and Steph Curry's first game in one hundred fifty six days now before we jump into that I do WanNa thank my friend Neil Kirkpatrick who created that awesome. Beat you just listened to the podcast. It wasn't huge fan of the beat. We had before asked Neil who I've been friends with since fifth grade and my best friend in life to create a new being. I think it's pretty awesome. Neal is a composer and musician. Based out of Brooklyn New York Vinyl his work at Neil Michael Kirkpatrick DOT com. That's Kirkpatrick with a K. But now that now that we're done with that let's jump. Let's jump into the box score steph. Curry had twenty three points on six for sixteen shooting. Three for twelve from three seven assists seven rebounds in twenty seven minutes. Now that's not steph. Ask but that's pretty decent for a guy coming off a four plus month laugh. I mean it's remarkable to think about that and I spent the post game on the Toronto side and Nick nurse was just marveling. What steph curry was able to do after a fifty eight game layoff cow? Lowry was the same way. I think even people who have won championships in our superstars in the league marvel at a guy doing that kind of stuff after that height is it speaks to Steph. Weddings always risen to the moment. But I think it also speaks to what he does to Rehab. I think he works as hard as anybody when he's rehabbing and so a game is almost easier to them than probably what he's been going through. Yeah and the thing that I was looking for tonight was not so much. The box score. 'cause you know he can make her miss shots? That doesn't really matter in a situation like this. What matters to me. Is he going to have those transcendent moments? Those steph like displays of just agility and athleticism and brilliant and he had a bunch of you know the behind. The back passes with his left hand. Mind you and the deep three pointer the dazzling dribbling displays. This game was laced with those and I know. He didn't play as many minutes as he normally does. Because he was on a minute restriction. He voiced frustration with that post game but the crowd tonight was completely doubt in with every movement he made on that floor because he is just that special of talent win the balls in his hands he can do something special any given moment and you just heard that you heard the Oz and it was kind of Nice to be reminded of that because we've just watched so much bad basketball this season it it always. I still haven't figured out the perfect description for this but one of the things that has always struck me when steph curry plays is. There's a different sound. It's it's almost like the whole place. Goes quiet as they're just waiting for the moment. And then there's this eruption in any always provide some of those moments the thirty two footer. When he beat the shot clock was remarkable. I think you're right. That the behind the back pass to Andrew wiggins early in the game with his left hand that was purpose but as much as I enjoy those moments and as much as there was more buzz in this building than they're probably ever has for basketball game. The things that I wanted to see was would steph curry Dr Lane and take the hits that he used to He fell on both hands really early in the game. And I wanted to see how you react to that. He didn't seem scared at all. And that's usually one of the hardest. Things is to get over that mental hurdle of came. My body hold up can take the beating that used to am. I going to have to go through another four months of Rehab and I didn't feel one moment tonight. Word that that he was thinking about his hand at all and you can see his joy and his style play just kind of translate to the rest of the team. Just keep in mind not a single player on that court tonight. Other than Steph played in the playoffs last season. The only player other than Steph. Who was on last? Season's team was Damian Lee and he was to contract player who was not allowed to play a laugh so kind of a completely new experience for staff even since he last played in late October. They've turned over half the roster. So you know he was saying that pre game you know he has kind of his pre game ritual with with draymond and all these guys and no one was around to do them with him and he felt really weird but the flip side of that is can you imagine being someone like Andrew Wiggins who's coming out of a rough situation for five and a half years in Minnesota and now he gets the opportunity to play with staff and he's heard about stuff he's played against stuff and now if you're a few weeks of the plane pretty darned he finally gets to play with staff and I thought it was kind of a cool introduction for him you know early in this game when steps running down and without hesitation he season he he laces that behind the back pass with his left hand to Andrew Wiggins he's under the basket and lays it in I'm guessing the Andrew Wiggins didn't get to play with a low point guards in Minnesota. I don't think Chris Don was at that level. I don't think Ricky Rubio was at that level. Whoever their point guard is you know before whoever their guard was before Russell is not at that level so that has to be kind of a cool. Welcome to state moment friends. They've asked wiggins to run hardened transition to cut hard and of course set And now he's going to be rewarded for doing that because curry is gonNA find him. Some of the funnier things that I watched. Especially in the second. Half late in the game I thought that this often happens. When there's a generational talent out there with all these young guys. The young guys have a tendency to stand around and watch. The warriors didn't do that. They were trying to get him the ball. But what is so natural for Draymond and bogeyed? All these guys in the past is they knew were curry was going to be. And they knew that he was not going to stop running. And they knew that he was going to relocate and they would have full possessions tonight where the words were looking really was just over that what. Yeah where is he now? Toronto had a better gays for worker. He was going to be than the warriors days. Then that just speaks to what you're talking about half these guys had never played with Jerry Wolf where some of them play with him. Three or four games you know. They don't know where he's going to be yet but when they yeah that out he's GonNa get better looks and it's going to be even more fun and the good thing for them. Is that staff and a lot of ways is the easiest superstar play with because he is so selfless just by being on the floor. He creates so much space for his teammates. And he's really good at making sure. His teammates capitalize on that. The warriors had thirty four assists on forty field goals. Pretty darn good and you saw the energy from the outrebounded a pretty good Toronto team fifty to thirty nine it just what it. What it came down to is down the stretch of the game. They just didn't have enough guys to make shots you know. There was a critical sequence. Lay where Damian Lee miss t three pointers and missed two free missed the free throws and that's a guy who yes. He's twenty seven years old but he's still kind of learning how to be a bona fide for tation player in the NBA. So there's going to be those learning experiences but I think overall the warriors have to be happy with their performance tonight and and happy with how Steph came out. He came out healthy still bills. Good Steve said that they're going up the minutes in the next game So you know he was in that twenty seven minute ranch tonight will probably be maybe low.

"Factor against. I'm arguing for it all. These guys are independent contractors at the end of the day Patrick Mahomes there is a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow for him if he becomes what we all think he can become. That is extraordinarily valuable to consider that. I don't disagree with anything you're saying in two which you didn't take the step until someone takes the furthest. Evans says so we'll take a discount. No I don't know why it is that what you're not disagreeing with me. I feel like you're yelling. It doesn't seem fair enough. Meanwhile we have a lot more to get to one football. But how about this steph curry back and better than ever? His FIRST APPEARANCE SINCE OCTOBER. Thirtieth is fifty eight games with a broken left hand. Rj everyone including Lebron excited to see him back in for good reason. Look at that this man can do everything on the floor the NBA has missed them. Fans have missed them. The casual basketball fans have missed it. That was a left hand in behind the pass to Andrew Wiggins. And then here he is. That's his first bucket. His first field goal in the second quarter but we people you were upset when people were talking about should he plays like yes he should play. Fans want to see Steph. Curry is a unique player. He's one of them. That's the way the fans view on. So it's great. When have we missed this just that moment? I have not missed that. I had nightmares about that. That has affected my life. Shot clock running out of thirty two foot three eleven points at halftime third quarter warriors playing the rappers by the way and down by nine. But it was Steph Curry. Who just went. Continue to put on a show last night watching here and again he has like when we talked about what. Dane Lillard was doing earlier in the season. Just shooting from anywhere all the time. He was basically jointly. Joining in. What Steph has been doing for the last five years how much fun he's having doing it. Who's counting workers? That was the four point plate. Now here he is in the fourth quarter finding his way to the hall Steph. Curry would finish with twenty three points. Seven assists played twenty seven minutes for the team. They play was good. Keep them in it but Pasquale SIAKA would find a way to win it. Siaka taking into the hole in the end. The Raptors went it one twenty-one one but for everyone great to have an NBA superstar back. Great.

"We go. I want to preview big game on the slate tonight clippers and rockets facing offer the fourth and final time this regular season first time since December nineteenth so Dante both of these teams look a lot different than they did back in December. What are you expecting to see tonight because we could get this matchup in the playoffs? Split to see a rockets win tonight is to one right now. Rockets are playing extremely wealthy going on to the small ball situation. I think that's tough to prepare for. I don't see the Clippers using any playoff adjustments right now just sitting on show anything so. I think the rockets have enough right now to the clippers. Clippers are nine. Oh with their full line nine and no they have not. They have not been beat And they can play a whole different ways. They can play big they play small. They Complain Slow. They can play fast. They are equipped to win this game. I want to see somebody can be. I mean it's going to be interesting when you mentioned Haywood. They don't WanNA show anything Dante. Do you think that when adjustments against these rockets are really going to be some of the key to whether teams can take them on in a seven game series. There is going to be a little bit holding back from a guy like rivers right. I think that is the chest part of you. Being prepared for the play. Offs and those adjustments are the things that they won't show the things that they're preparing for the playoffs if they have to see him. They won't show them tonight so. I think that they're starting to play lead to a victory for the Rochester rockets. Coming off of bad loss in New York so expect them to be you know. Come out with a lot of energy tonight. You think Patrick Beverley is going to be fired up for a rockets game in his old beverly's fired up for right now that's true. He is fired up right now. But there's always extra spice but those games too. I love it. Thanks Dante. Brian Clinton for joining me. We will see back tomorrow on the jobs and see Saturday..

"I'm saying again like you said Bron. You have that conversation with you. I just think everything they do. This fine don't change anything if results seventy fine. If it doesn't know pity party I want to go ahead. Most important thing to get the number one overall. You don't come on Lakers or clippers court the first game with the NBA finals. If you get there so getting the number one. You've got a four-game league nick thing. That is the winner. Comment of the day four-game lead and if they win tomorrow six game lead essentially because they get the Tiber yes absolutely right. I do want to check in my favorite playoff race going. Yep there we go horse race for the spine. West Damian Lillard return last night after missing six games because of that brain injury scored twenty two points the blazers. Oh yes Clinton. They breached by Your Wizards Wizard. Damn said he felt good. Didn't feel restricted Mela Portland with twenty five points. Because you know. He couldn't play in the league anymore Meanwhile in Brooklyn. The Grizzlies flew out the nets by thirty nine. We saw him dancing earlier. The scoring load shared between nearly every player. Who got on the floor? So with the WIND MEMPHIS KIT captains lead three and a half games at Portland and Sacramento for the final playoff spot out west and the Pelicans are all the way at the bottom of that because we had enough room on the screen. But I gotTa tell you now for five games out with only twenty to play. Should people stop down and the Grizzlies doubting the grizzlies for what it's worth the grizzlies where the team in this spot? But I think.

"Wipe the wonderful. Why can't you see call it? What have you given us the last five years five straight trips to get him off the screen? I went to camera on five straight TRIPS TO THE NBA. Finals three titles. You're lost one after seventy three and nine season in game seven last year. Kt goes down. Clay went up. They wound up basketball team. Damn infirmary you're still went six games with Toronto. They have given us so much. I want them back. I don't want anything. Compromise within the seasons at twelve forty. Three twelve forty three the seasons of watch. What does that Bay area? How you returned basketball. You owe them nothing you nothing take a rest Chelsea. Get yourself a hundred percent workout towards the game to team on. Plan your vacation to a basketball court to see see him. Because I don't want anything to happen where you get another injury and you compromise next season because there will be back clay tops and Steph. Curry is the greatest shooting. Back Court in the history of basketball. Make no mistake about it. They'd get back on the court next year. They title could be right in the mix. I'm telling you right now. Don't let anything interfere with that. Joe Lake Up. Listen to Bob Myers. Listen to Steve. Kerr I like you man. I really really do. Okay listen to me. Do not let Steph Curry and Klay Thompson I know. Click worry about Klay because Michael Thompson here colleague has been happening. There's so not get back on Steph Curry curries that the wonderful wife Mama. The gorgeous among stop there steph curry needs to stay the hell the court because we need you this game Mrs Zoo and we need you to seize the five beautiful years. He's going to give a foul ball. You'll give us a lot more because eight at-bat legit relax for the season. It's a vacation doughnuts with it. Max Don't usually yup originally. Of course I didn't want klay to play because is obviously wasn't going originally. I thought no Steph should come back if you can play this year but March. What are we just had a joke? You what is in March Stephen. It doesn't make any sense. Stephen I want to read you something from real. Gm after the trade deadline. It's not just now and by the way I'm Steffan. Claes windows are short right now. The way they shoot they can be valuable going forward into the distant future even if they're not as valuable as they are in the immediate future in twenty twenty golden state. Think about this and Stephen keep in mind how they draft and develop including Steph and clay. Those guys were short thing superstars coming out of college and Dray. Okay hold on twenty twenty this year. They have their own first round. Pick protected top twenty. They have the Dallas Mavericks Second Round. Pick and the Utah Jazz. Second round. Pick twenty twenty one. They have their own first round pick. They have the Minnesota Timberwolves First Round Pick. Which is only top three protected. They have Denver and timber. Wolves Second Round Pick Twenty twenty two. They have their own first round pick and their second and the Raptors second round pick. They've got all these picks coming up in the next three years and their hands. They're more valuable than pick for another franchise. They're better at evaluating talent. They're better at using their imagination in terms of how to use that talent and they're better at developing that talent and fitting them into a system. So it's not just oh Steph Klay they gotta do something next year no Klay. I don't expect to be as good as he's going to be the year after next year. But having a healthy steph and Klay whatever of them next year is immediately going to make the playoffs contender and the following year. They're going to be a finals contender and they're going to not only their first round pick that they drafted this year. They're going to have first round. Picks going forward multiple first round picks. They are sitting ready right now to continue this run as this dynastic powerhouse. If they don't screw it up I totally agree. It makes no sense for Steph to play games in March. Well let me say this to you with the blasphemous words that I just heard. Come out of your mouth. I believe that anytime. Klay Thompson and Steph Curry on the basketball court together and healthy day our instant title contenders that means the next year. Not only two years from now. That means an ex you you know. Why because their success in predicated on death lettuces? It's predicated on their marksmanship. And these are the elite marksmen. This game has ever seen. I'm going to remind the world. Listen Reggie Miller is a hall of Famer Ray. Allen is a hall of Famer. I go back to the days. Dale Ellis Dell Curry Ricky downtown Freddie Brown Seattle in the late seventies and early eighties. And I'm telling you.

"Cyst, and it seems to me that, that work, low was far too much of a burden for him to carry because he has not even been close to resembling the Steph curry that we know he can be as you mentioned skip. There are a lot of times. Steph normally catches the ball. Illicit go. We saw hitch after hit after hitching shot come up short time, time and time again. So I don't really know what's going on with them or say, you know, we can make excuses for and says, okay? He's tired. But L everybody's tired. It's not like Steph curry is the only one that's been playing and everybody else. He he's had often and he just started playing. You know you've been playing one hundred and fifty games and everybody's just played seventy five. Everybody's played just as many games Steph curry to this point. But this was his opportunity to show. You know what guys I can't do this. I can carry the load yet. We don't have Kevin Durant. We'd love to have him back, but he's not let me show you what a two-time in BT, let me show, you why one of those unanimously and clay in game four and skip we like if Steph give us anything close to the game, pre perform with Chris and he gives clay come alone will hell Klay came along. If Steph got out of the car. Left Klay in the car by. Think I agree with you skip. Thank you. I think game one Steph was very good thirty four points. Game two. Yes. Okay. Twenty three miles of not not very good game three. I thought he was tremendous game for disappointing yet, as you said the bar is. So when your average in thirty three points, five assists, five rebounds, and you're disappointing thirty three points is thirty three points. I mean that that is great. And you mentioned no Kevin Durant. Klay missed the game Kvant looney as miss three DeMarcus cousins is a shell of himself Igwe. Dial is banged up averaging seven points a game as shooting twenty one percent from three Draymond green is not been himself shooting eight percent.

"But I'm just sorry. Like I feel like if I watched some of these TV shows and they're on the seventeen hundreds, there'd be a guy like seventeen seventy four, who would say, George Washington. Didn't really do much in that French and Indian war. You know, should have gotten that post and kinda sought power without really asking for it. So Julie leader blow five hundred finals shopaholic. You know, and then like seventeen ninety something would roll around when the country's got things picked up, maybe like. Still four or five in the finals rat early. If this guy's all cut out for everything every Saint for him. That's what I think people would do if we had to shows about historical figures, and it, we're on for fifteen straight years from the mid seventeen seventies or maybe twenty years to the mid seventeen. Ninety s and there's this week's history lesson. Wow. Yeah. So I'll say this. I the, the thing that annoys the hell out of me is because Steph didn't win the arbitrary award of finals MVP for years ago. All of a sudden, that's like something that he needs on his resume or else home. Never be like considered in this great category. That's absurd me for overstate Kellerman lead. I take with. He doesn't have a finals every show on the finals MVP that year. I don't I don't care what anyone else says, if you look back on and go watch those games and I have it's comical, but in the moment, the writers to caught up, but I've seen some of the writers talk about this since then that voted for it, and I'm like, oh, my God. You guys and I wish you didn't like Steph to make this better. So I don't want to like, oh, here we go recieves on the Steph thing again. But this isn't even a Steph thing as much as it's about just the way we talk about players. So I could not agree with you more when you go, hey, and yes, I've disagreed with Kellerman a lot lately. It's just he's, he's decided he's not a Steph guy, so he bring. Up the surrounding talent. He brings up the no finals MVP. And then what did he do? He brought up. He said that game through the only finals game. He's ever really stepped up. I, I don't know what to do with that. I, I would be very it would the angst on my face. If I were on the set with him would be really funny. So I mean I would have to laugh at some of that stuff. But I'm glad you brought up the two thousand fifteen thing because that is that is anti Steph one. So I ended up did you a little bit? I just feel like we're gonna spend too much time praising. No. And then the other thing that I didn't understand it was kind of I felt like people were kind of dog and boogie like you said after his game three performance because you can't like I'm not as I'm probably with you. I'm not I'm not a huge fan. I was super impressive what he did game too. But the idea that like he owes same old boogie game three because he didn't show up when he's been injured for an entire season the year before basically and then coming off another injury and his cardio's probably terrible. I understand how you hold that against him. He's playing minutes that they didn't expect him to ever have to play, and nobody knows she's here. Right. No one has been more antibodies than I am. And I've been right about it. I'm sorry. I've done some of these. And I've had people call me immediately from the league going. How are you? The only one that seems to figure this thing out. I go, I don't know. It's it's mind boggling to me, and it just proves again. Once again, like I just don't think many guys watch as much as they say they do or they don't pick up on these things. Boogie wasn't bad game three because he's DaMarcus of the it wasn't. Hey, here's the bad version of Marcus cousins. You're absolutely right. Surti. It was the exhausted. I mean, man, what are you guys?.

"Klay forever anyway no steph was not done yet there's this from the corner and yep lastly another step back three and it's remarkable when you see them all together because it underlines the thing about stuff which is that he can get a shot off anywhere anyway when he is feeling it no distances safe that is why a few years ago he literally revolutionized the way the nba game is played and why i don't understand why everyone is such a lot of right now over whether steph can finally win as i finals mvp yeah he could definitely win it but really who cares the man is a twotime actual mvp poised to win his third ring and guess what all praising hallelujah he is the greatest shooter of all time church church services wednesday i'm telling you man kevin durant i don't want to you know sell him short he had a great effort very very efficient twentysix points really strong on defense i mean the question to me is who is more important for the warriors right now about a week ago we were on the set in la doing the finals preview show me you tracy mcgrady and byron scott and i all handily said steph curry is the best part on the warriors trying to make another point i never got to the point because they're trying to stop me oh that's why because when he plays well they're unstoppable when katie plays well they might be solvable or they might be in a nail biter and that's a huge difference he defines the culture and he bends the way the defense has to play him because unlike kevin durant again it's not a knock on trent is highlighting special about curry when he goes into those one on one situations we saw a couple of them he gives up the ball his work hasn't stopped he keeps moving and defenders often are.
