"I Scott Dennis I'm great buddy I. Appreciate you having me on and. Looking. Forward to this time, we're GONNA share together the conversation and Hope it's going to be empowering and inspiring to others out there listening. All right and all of the above you go. There you go. So you are a basketball coach. So tell us about that what what, what do you coach pro or you coach high school or what what kind of a basketball coach you tell us about that? Well, I actually started off coaching at the college level here in the United States. For Fourteen seasons and many of those teams were nationally ranked and that at a very young age I actually started off as a head coach professionally over in Europe and have done that for fifteen plus seasons and had accumulated a near seven eighty win percentage in win multiple championships which that opened up doors and allowed me the opportunity to have A. Little sympathy in the NBA out here consulting with coach Jerry, Sloan Hall of Famer in the NBA that we just lost him about a month and a half ago. So may may he rest in peace and then also spending time with the Golden State Warriors for three Summers where I got to coach a league MVP Steph Curry, and also a summer with the Sacramento Kings. So to say that I have been blessed and very lucky on my journey would be an a be an understatement but I I would also be remiss to say that a lot of sacrifices and a lot of great journeys have come along the way with that. Absolutely sounds sounds very adventurous and exciting well. It was because you know I I went overseas because I just wanted to get in and practice my own philosophies as a head coach and did it again did that at a young age and was one of the youngest American basketball head coaches at that time at the professional level so I spent time in Europe. So started off in Luxembourg which led me to an opportunity in Sweden and then I went from Sweden to Germany actually Austria, and then to Germany and then ended up being in the Middle East for a while. And had some great experiences in the Middle East and some unique encounters which then led me to Latin America than also Asia. So I've actually completely traveled the Globe coaching and teaching the game that I love My passport has more than a Sunday newspaper reverence for the older crowd but Yeah I've I've been very blessed. So throughout their travels in the world of basketball doing everything was who is your favorite team to coach pro or not and What was your favorite experience e will you know what if you went by his beauty of the country? Coast in Sweden just if I felt like I was coaching in a national park. It was very beautiful. It was clean. Pristine everybody was very active Just, just a lot of fun now as far as basketball and basketball level I'll probably surprise you when I tell you that Beirut Lebanon was surprisingly just phenomenal. I grew up in the state of Indiana, where basketball is you know just a big time sport so You know to go into a country where usually when you go to Europe most sports basketball is not the top sport cas soccer is our football and You know the team that I coach in Lebanon. Was Kinda unique I took over a team midseason replaced a Serbian coach that team was about in sixth place, and then we actually won the championship that year but Dennis the reason that that was so fun. There was a big mix So not only was it sport. We were playing these seven time reigning champion that team was backed..

"Some dude named Cameron I'm going say gauthier. Gothi. Slid into my g messages and says, you're dead wrong about college football. It's all about the money and trying to night is probably the stupidest thing you've ever said no I've said bar stupid righteous avoid that one out. they're they're only playing because of money whenever you sub for calling you sound like such a moron. The only reason they played for money. Okay. Nothing else like trying to win the game representing your school representing your family improve. Your standing within the team. You know playing for each other maybe even your your draft stock. I. Guess You could says about money be it. By the way. By the way. Doing, things for money is not a bad thing. Like we do understand that colleges make money off of all of their students. All of them. All of them. So college is like is colleges. Job is to educate people, but they don't do it for free. It is not a charity. which is the same thing as college football such truly a business it's not truly a charity. Somewhere in the middle. Someone middle. So, but it's definitely not the stupidest savers said I would. I would challenge that one. I'm. Not. Sure. If you're aware but once upon a time I thought steph curry shouldn't of come out of school early I mean as far dumber right is way worse. Dustin as a Dustin may is gonNA join us next hour. It's now become a thing nick right pointed out. It's now become a thing always feet in all of his photos of him chilling at his house always feet what what is the deal? Maybe because he got good toenails, I don't have good toenails. I'm working on getting better toenails, but maybe it's because he has good toenails. You Know I. There are many people myself included who thought the reason that they wanted to have more teams in the bubble than just playoff teams. was because they wanted to have the Pelicans involved as much as possible. If you remember back to when they decided to put twenty two teams in the bubble. Remember member when they decided to do that. I hope was. Let's let's get more of Zion on TV and maybe you get the Pelicans into the play offs the Pelicans in the playoffs and Zions in.

"Yeah Edwards is I think Edwards is probably among the players that we are going to talk about that are in that top five or six range I to me even more than a Lamelo ball or an ob topping, and the guy said we'll get to I. Think Edwards is going to be the guy that if you're a team that and we're by the way, we are two weeks out from the draft lottery. So. I think he is going to be the player that is going to give general managers and their scouting staffs enough hesitation a tation here where like you know if you've got the second pick right and you're looking at it, a lot of different guys looking at team needs and you're looking at an anthony type WHO If he hits. He's if he hits, he is I think his ceiling is good enough where he can be the leading score on your team in a matter of three or four seasons. That's if he hits. But if he doesn't, there's enough interesting talent and different kind of talent in this two, thousand, twenty draft perish where if you miss on it, I'm not going to be one of those talking heads is like this player's GonNa cost you a job. Now, collectively, those decisions do cost general manager drafts. Drafting, anything he had which are not is going to directly lead to a general manager getting promotion or losing his gig whatsoever. But I do think he is going to be among the toughest evils and 'cause whoever takes them. It's it's not going to be a sure thing. I think in my mark from late June when I did it off my big board, I wrote something along the lines of. told me that Anthony Edwards hit or if his floor completely bombed out and we looked up a decade from now and he was really like. The thirteenth or fourteen best player from this draft, I would believe it and I would because I do think that he also had. When I think Anthony Edwards I think, okay. He can score, but he's inconsistent. He can get super streaky. And that's a problem because he can. There were definitely times. I probably watched. Georgia. Wasn't good honest. I probably watched maybe eight Georgia Games maybe nine Georgia Games last season. Primarily because of veterans I, think hammonds has actually a sneaky decent. NBA. Pro Down the way. But. There would be just pockets of games where he'd be unreal and you'd see it, and then he would straight up disappear and it was definitely to me when I watched him. Sometimes. I thought he was the quintessential kind of player where when he's got it going on offense than he can get engaged on the other end of the floor and when it's not happening, then it's a real problem and I do think. One of my biggest talking points. When we talk draft is you will hear more often than not people. Critique players is defensive aptitude I find that to be overstated more often than not, and also by the way. Preeminent, example of this is Steph Curry. Even if he's not an elite defend dude is he's going to be one of the ten most influential. Most influential players in NBA history, and one of the twenty greatest. Easily by the end of his career, I could give an f. how good is defense so Sometimes I, think we overvalue that. But that's not to say that defense isn't important Edwards in particular clearly has the body the athleticism. To develop into a good NBA player on the Defensive End, the biggest question is he want to do that. Right, I'm not that concerned about the defense although he was terrible defensively at Georgia, the reason I wouldn't be concerned is because it's not like he's bad defensively for any obvious reason I mean he's six five to twenty, five, he moves. Well, he should be able to guard multiple positions. He strong like if he to me being an adequate. and. Being being good or at least acceptable on the defensive into the court just comes down for him to like. Do you want to do it? Go do it like a focus be engaged and and guard somebody? He didn't do that enough at Georgia. But I don't think that means he can't do it in the NBA. When you mentioned the evaluations, they're all over the place for him. I think that's true There are some games you see him and you guys clearly the number one pick in the draft, and then there's other games you like I don't. I wouldn't touch that guy at all. That said everybody has them the top five but. Sam for senior buddy did a piece for the athletic. You should go check it out if you haven't. Not just norlander. But anybody listening where he talked to. I believe eight different college coaches who coached against. Anthony Edwards this year and everybody recognizes the talent. That's easy. Of course, he's big strong can really shoot it. Got A, chance to special. Everybody would take him in the top five. But within that group, some would take a number one and some wouldn't touch him at number one, I, remember Georgia, played at Memphis this year and my buddy. Chris. Vernon who does the Ringers, NBA podcast. He was I believe at that game and he was like, if you didn't know anything about anybody on this court, you would never think anthony hours may be the number one ticket address like. You would not think that at all and just was out, you've just guy now he had moments, but he's just the guy and too often in his one season Georgia, he was just a guy like. Forty nine percent of his field goal attempts were three pointers sometimes if that lots of times, awful three-pointers when you are bigger stronger, more athletic, more gifted than everybody, you're playing against why forty nine percent of your fill go attempts from beyond the arc when you're only making twenty nine percent of them, I think he's a better shooter that I know. He's a better shooter than he just takes too many bad shots. Now, maybe that's something that can get fixed, it'll have to get fixed. But at the collegiate level, his body type, he should be able to big boy. Boy? One. Guard after another after another get to the rim draw fouls, he only shot five free throws per game only twenty, five, point six percent of is still go attempts at the rim. So what good all of these natural gifts that you have if you don't take advantage of them and to me that was one of the biggest problems at at Georgia for Anthony. Edwards. Yes, he has a beautiful step back jumper that will serve him well in.

"Like, Look at any other sport. You get a quarterback sack. You get up and dance for 38 seconds. Yeah, nobody's like we're going after that guy. No n ba ck Mama Thomas cut his finger. Practically your eye. If he blocks you shot and nobody nobody blinks. It's just I I got Steph Curry out here, making 35 quarters and then doing like a feral brothers shimmy like like he's out here with shoulders and so and you know what's funny it it almost feels to me like sports fans kind of pick and choose. And that's okay because I'm probably the same way I want to be a hypocrite. I mean, I probably have some of these same same characteristics, but like you kind of pick and choose. The guys you're cool with, like, Wow. That's Steph Curry. He could do that. Of course, he's right. Like the ER the right. Yes, I think so. Totally bizarre, because you're the guy that's never done that before. Shouldn't you be a bit more exciting, right, right. And plus even just last year, it was just last season when MLB rolled out that let the kids play a campaign where they were kind of, you know, embracing that idea, embracing expression on the field, embracing Celebratory, You know, behaviour after a big play stuff like that, So I and I think baseballs and it's probably the correct mindset. "Saying Steph Curry is the best player in the world? Yes, by right and be totally top five player. If I said you could have Zion, or you can have Luca right now, Dyer. Oh, my God. Did he just say that this is Dan Patrick? Somehow made it to a Friday a meet Friday at that we got wings on the Trager. Come on in. Stay a while. Reggie Miller will join us from the bubble coming up in about 15 minutes. Socks. Um, College football. Also the PGA getting underway yesterday. Will recap got a little tiff going on between Ohio State in Michigan. Jim Harbaugh on Ryan Day. And that for you coming up as well. 8773 d p show email address. Dp Dan patrick dot com Twitter handle a DP SHOW Say good morning to our radio, friends and also our TV friends on YouTube dot com slash Dan Patrick show competition level in the N B. A bubble started out pretty high, and some of the games are still pretty good, and you got a lot of scoring. Starting to see some teams rest. Um, starters here like the Lakers did last night with LeBron and I don't want to hear any complaints. These are the last four games of the regular season. Nobody watches the last four games of Ah, regular season during a normal year. We're just noticing it because it's the bubble and it's the Lakers. But if your Laker fan you're probably saying we don't need to have LeBron out there The Bucks. You know, Buck's fans probably don't want the Greek freak out there, either, although he looked great last night, Lakers and box of the favorites, but teams like the Clippers and Raptors are right behind them. And you have a bit of an unknown right now. Because people are looking at Portland. And could they be a spoiler here? Could the Rockets be a spoiler here? What about Denver? So there's a few teams we're not quite sure of. But we put a question mark by just how great they will be if they get into the postseason, and by that I mean Portland because Portland had 45 from Damian Lillard last night there 1/2 game out, and Memphis is limping to the finish line. The Pelicans got a great night out as Ion, but they lost their game as well. So it looks like Portland is going to be your team. I watch Phoenix against Indiana, and they had two of the more interesting runs that I've ever seen in an N B a game. They went on a 21 to nothing run and a 17 to nothing. Run. They went on to win despite shooting nine of 34 from three point range. Phoenix is now foreign owned The bubble. I don't know what it means, but they're for no in the bubble, but we have a couple of meaningless games coming up for the most part, and I know I talked about this yesterday. Everybody's talking about it today, and that is the Lakers offense. Now the Lakers offense, unlike most of the other teams has not been consistent has not been explosive. We've seen some moments where LeBron goes off. We've seen some moments where Anthony Davis goes off. I don't think that they're concerned about the first round because the teams they would be playing in the first round are not good defensive teams, but it can show probably will show when you get into the second round. Because if you're getting into the second or third round, chances are you can play a little bit of defense. And I think that's when it might emerge that the Lakers have some issues here. You know their backcourt. They're not quite sure you know when you lose two players like Rondo and Avery Bradley That just affects your rotations and they do have a good bench. I have to admit the young waiters has played well. Koosman Caruso. The question is, Are you going to put one of those guys in the starting lineup here to get more offense? That'll be what I'm looking for, as we get closer to the start of the postseason or once we start that opening round, but Reggie Miller will join us. Coming up in a little bit. I mentioned the little tiff between Jim Harbaugh, the head coach at Michigan and Ryan Day. He's the head coach at Ohio State. There was a Big 10 coaches news conference yesterday was a conference call and Jim Hall, Harbaugh reportedly interrupted Ohio State's Ryan Day. And accused him of breaking rules regarding on field instruction. Harbaugh asked day about a photo that reportedly showed the Buckeyes assistant coach out Washington working out. The Ohio State linebacker's now see a rules don't permit on field instructions until today. So day fired back. How about I worry about my team and you worry about yours? Then Ohio State had a team meeting on Monday and, according to Buck Nuts is that website are person that's AH, website. A buck Nuts day purportedly told his players that the Wolverines better hope There's a mercy rule this season because Quote Gonna hang 100 on them. There was no there is no mercy Rule by the way in college football. When ESPN asked day about the reported incidents during a zoom meeting on Thursday. He declined to comment. I appreciate the question, but I'd rather not answer that right now. Well, I was in Columbus two years ago when they probably could have put a Hyundai on them. I think they put what 63 they could have easily scored 80 that day against them. And here we are going to be in Columbus. If they play now they moved it up a month. It was going to be it's usually Thanksgiving weekend. Oh, boy. I would just go to tailgate and listen to the game outside. It's such a great atmosphere, certainly.

No Look Pass

"The NBA Wmba seasons have started back up I've only caught one game so far, but like many basketball fans I'm looking forward to the tempo and intensity. This season will brink. It's a lot more on the line. Players are bringing that to the game. Don't get me wrong. I'm looking forward to some highlights to Dunks, lobs crossovers, but is something about that. No look pass that true finesse to the gain. Some of the greatest. No look passes of all time. John Stockton Steve Nash Steph Curry Arguably. Rajon, Rondo Carl Malone. It's nothing like seeing a player in all confidence. Take that ball up the court. Drive into the paint in dish it off with a no look. Pass finished the player scores. In the NBA Dunks are expected, but is that no look pass that catches you off guard, which is why many have not mastered it. Two things have to happen at were four. No look pass to occur successfully. Fars the passer has to have foresight as to where the recipient will be. This is what makes the no look. Pass so smooth is just not the no look, but it's the no look with the understanding and awareness of where the recipient is going. The recipient must be ready. This can go either two ways. They can catch it or they don't, and they don't. is nothing short of a disappointment, because if caught ninety percent of the time is buckets. The second thing that must happen in order for the no look pass to be successful. The player has to be emotion. When you're in motion, you're not stopped or stationary. There's momentum being exerted. And, being emotion requires you to stay focused on what's in front of you while also anticipating what's coming at you and for the big man holding down the paint? This is not easy. These guys are huge six foot eight seven feet now is one thing to run the baseline, but a completely different one to run the court trail the pain, not clobbering the man in front of you while possibly anticipating a quick dish. From the point, Guard So many factors to account for in a lot of trust going on there. Is Not easy, even though it looks easy, you may be saying tiffany. How does this apply to me? I don't play basketball. You're right, but you might be working two jobs to make ends meet or staying at home, juggling the demands of your kids or carrying the load of school. Whatever it is, keep going stay emotion. God the Ultimate Point Guard sees it all in every now and then. He might throw you a no look pass. Will you be ready.

How the Warriors stack up against Jordan's Bulls

"Everybody in the free world. Watch the last dance the other night. It appears Draymond. Green did too and draymond green went on a podcast yesterday. uninterrupted W RT s after. Show party with Paul Rivera and Maverick Carter. No less And he likened their last season with Kevin Durant the warriors to what he had just watched on. Tv with the last season of the Bulls and he didn't hold back and he said one of the things from watching it. Was that what you saw? Is everybody kind of set it up like this is going to be the last year and so there was none of that elephant in the room hanging out there for their team That last warriors team with Durant and said that you know. Steve tried to deal with it but Kevin was asked about it every day. Dream on saying I want to be a warrior for Life Klay say and I want to be a warrior for life and then there was this elephant in the room the entire year and it was almost as if he watched the last dance and thought Jeez They handled that a lot. Better like hanging out there the whole year. Everybody knew that was going to be the end and so they just treated it that way the whole year. What you guys think. I mean ownership didn't handle it better. The player of the players may have the players may have handled it at worst. And Scottie Pippen you know getting the surgery when he did wanting out you know Jordan thinking was selfish but ownership on the warriors side of things. At least their goal is building with sustainability. They WANNA keep steph curry and Klay Thompson and continue winning. Reisen Dorf in Krause and the Bulls were ready to pull the plug after the first three championships. Trying to trade pippen for camp granted that still a win but then after it it's about China. Tear Down Arriba. I don't see that from the warriors now but it is fascinating. How much history has repeated in some ways with the disease of more and whatnot that manifested with Katie? Always being jealous of steph curry in the spotlight that he received and you look at what the Bulls went through in the nineties. I it is hard to see the parallels from the players side. We think I didn't see it. I just think Jerry mind was a I think he was a little narcissistic with it is totally different situation. Durant in that situation is basically the Rodman character. Rodman was on the Bulls for three years. Durant shows up for three years pushes him to another level but other I mean the bulls thing was so different Jordan and pippen were together for you know twelve years and there were Phil Jackson for. I don't know it was at least nine or whatever and everything was the same and they were just going going going and they had all these different ups and downs and that warriors thing you know they durant was on that team for blip was if you add up when when he actually showed up and then when he left. It's less than three years. It's like thirty months It's not a perfect comparable for for either team. But I do think you know the players you know seeking that attention. Wanting what's there's at I think with that aspect there's some similarities but overall though I mean I'm with you in the sense that ownership in front office objectives here are far different in what the Bulls wanted to do in the nineties with Crowson. Reisen Dorf is far different than what the warriors are trying to do with Myers and and warriors ownership. Now right I mean the differences with the warriors thing. It was one person undermining the whole thing. Durant yeah the Bulls thing it was. It was like a bad marriage with you. Know eight nine different people. All knowing like the marriage is ending and I think with the warriors they kept trying to pull durant back in that second season when he was there was when it started to fall apart in the third season. I still feel like they felt like it might be salvageable until they had that clippers game and then after that I think there are some similarities with the chemistry. Let's say let's say this. Let's say draymond. His way would have played out the way he wanted to write like. I don't buy for one second. If Kevin Durant started that season said this is my last year with the warriors it still would have been a problem like the right here the whole year by the way. He should have done that though. That's how he should have handled it and I think part of the problem is he didn't handle it that way. And you know the players and the team new organization. They knew he was leaving. They knew about all the New York stuff they thought it was gonna be the Knicks but they knew he was leaving. It was by especially by February march ever in the league new so I think from that standpoint underminded what's the elephant in the room. That draymond talking about that. You know what I'm saying if they all had this understanding Kevin. Ain't going to be with US after this year. Then why is he acting like it was a problem throughout the entire year? That Kevin was just saying Oh. I don't know we'll see we'll because I think Kevin probably agree with this. I think there was still hope that he might do a one eighty. You know I I think that. And honestly with the with the ninety eight balls and you're gonNA find out in the tenth part it came a lot closer to everybody coming back except for Rodman I I think they knew Rodman was done but I think once they actually won. I think there was a moment there where they were like Holy Shit. What are we doing? We gotTA defend this again.

Hang Well Gladiolas Mattie good to hear your voice It's it's all right. You know I am Trying to work right next reconstructions and right now you might be able to hear a little bit of that noise in the background. I I do have a little pillow. Fort here to help so from my closet to your pillow for today. We're GONNA talk about an idea that's been in the air a lot lately that the krona virus is basically no worse than the flu. Thirty six thousand deaths a year. People Die Thirty six from the flu. But we've never closed down the country for the flu so you say to yourself. What is this all about? That was the president on Tuesday of this week. And so the estimated death toll last flu season in the US was about thirty. Four thousand people in experts say it can range from around twelve thousand deaths year to sixty one thousand deaths a year. By contrast the Krona virus has killed one thousand one hundred and twenty four people in the US. That's as of Thursday when we're taping this according to a Johns Hopkins Count but there is a problem with comparing the two diseases in this way especially at this point in time. Yeah it's tree. Mattie and one of the reasons is that our healthcare system is set up to deal with the flu every year. But what? It's not set up for is to deal with the current events on top of the flu. And so yeah like on purely rod numbers. More people have died from flu this year. But there is a lot of science and data that we've learned in the past three months and it suggests that the corona virus is not only a more dangerous disease. It's one that could hurt more people if it spreads unchecked. So this episode. We'll talk about that. Science and data how the Krona virus differs from the flu and why it could emphasis on could be even more dangerous to public health. Okay paying like we all do with these current virus updates. We need to be clear that the information in this episode is based on what we know right now as of March twenty six and most of what we're talking about today are estimates based on information. That's still evolving. Yeah so let's start with some symptoms flu versus Corona Virus. So this is one of the things that makes containing this illness so tricky. The most frequent symptoms of corona virus are fever dry cough fatigue and shortness of breath and those show up in both corona virus. The flu and people can also get diarrhea. But that's pretty rare and it's also something that can happened with flu and that's all information from the World Health Organization and of course it's very possible that there are symptoms out there that we haven't identified yet so for example. There's been some talk about people with Corona virus. Losing their sense of taste But that hasn't really been proven. Yeah right and of course. A huge concern is people who can pass this fires onto someone else without even knowing that they have it. Yes so let's talk about that. Let's talk about transmission so basically how flu and Crow virus passed from one person to another so flu and current a virus or both ought to be spread mainly through close contact with other people who have it so you can kiss them or they can coffin you and the droplets that come out of their noses and mouths can get into your nose and your mouth and make you sick. So that's why CD's recommending keeping a physical distance of about six feet away from other people right now right right but there is one big difference. And that's the flu can be transmitted through what we call. Airborne transmission people can offer sneeze in a room and then other people can come in and breathe in like super tiny particles of virus and get sick and obviously that type of transmission can be really hard to protect against exactly and while public health officials have said they don't think that's what's going on with occur virus community so far they are still trying to figure that out. Okay Ping so. Let's talk about how many people one person can in fact figuring that out is part of figuring how contagious diseases. There's some numbers that have been reported on the lot even seeing them in the news. But we're going to put some of that. Sweet sweet shortwave nuance in there for you. Yes shortwave where caveats are very welcome. Always okay so matty. If you look at the data from China it looks like each person. Infected WITH CORONA VIRUS. Seems to give it to two or two and a half other people on average and that is higher than the flu so person with flu only spreads it to about one point. Three other people and again that's on average. Yeah and we have to be really careful with those numbers how many people one person will infect is this average based on an equation and for Corona virus a lot of the factors that go into that equation. Like how long? Somebody's contagious. How much virus it takes to get. People sick are still unknown so that to two point five number is a rough number and it is extremely likely that that number will change for better or for worse right yeah and this one was calculated again looking at populations in China not the US and things like weather. People ride crowded subway to get around or whether cheek kissing is a common greeting. You know things like how people behave. And how many people come in contact with that can change that number. And that's why social distancing is so key right now all that being said today Dr Anthony Voucher one of the top public health officials in this country told Steph curry and NBA Point Guard. Because that's the world we live in now is much more transmissible than the flu in part of that has to do with one of the most important and honestly scary things about the corona virus that people can be contagious before they have symptoms so before they themselves. No they're sick. This also happens with the flu. But it's only for about a day right. That's what we were just mentioning that. He and with Corona virus seems like people can walk around for longer not knowing that they're sick and potentially getting other people sick so we still don't know a lot about this yet but one study looking at a bunch of provinces in China found that about thirteen percent of their cases were likely caused by people spreading the corona virus to others before they started coughing or having a fever or getting achey. Yeah and what's really wild about it and I've only seen this in this one study. Is that some of the people who got infected had symptoms before the person that infected them so it would be like if I was contagious. And I didn't know and I came to work and infected you and you had symptoms before I ever done and if you think about it. Mattie from a public health perspective so hard to deal with it's part of the reason why some people are really advocating for testing a lot of people who may have been exposed to corona. And not just the symptomatic ones. So let's talk about when you do get sick enough to go to the hospital. There's some evidence based on data from China that patients wind up in the hospital with Corona Virus. Than when it comes to the flu right it looks like about twenty percent of patients with cove in nineteen. Get seriously ill enough to be sent to the hospital. And that's about ten times the rate for flu. Here's Parker Hudson and epidemiologist at University of Texas at Austin Del Medical School where it's particularly concerning are the number of people who are progressing to need hospital level care and then eventually critical care and who are dying especially the extremes of age and we also have some data from China from Wuhan about how long people with the krona virus need to stay in the hospital. Once they wind up there. Yeah so based on information from Han in January the average hospital stay is eleven days for Corona Virus. And that's compared with five or six days for an average flu case. And when you have a patient using a hospital bed for that length of time. That's the bad that can't go to a flu. Patient or someone with a heart condition or someone in a car accident suggest because this is a new disease for our healthcare system. It doesn't mean that all the other reasons people end up in the hospital usually just magically go. Yeah and not only that based on the stories we've been hearing from Er Doctors Hospital. Nurses caring for Corona virus. Species takes a lot of work yet. It's true so an expert at the world. Health Organization says that taking care of intensive really unwell corona virus patients. It can take two to three medical staff at one time all in protective gear for hours and hours and that is super social work. And don't even get me started on the amount of disposable gloves masks and gowns that takes because we've all been hearing about that shortage and it's a whole separate

Tony Ridiculous Caribbean so busy. I say out can Africa and the Caribbean put together an all time team. It's better than an african-american team a euro team at a white American team. It's the third one. Maybe not. The answer is yes. We don't have time to do this but I will convince you. I can't convince you to Africa and the Caribbean in basketball. All Time team and also your co you qualify by or Nigeria. Will I started? I start with all of ethnic did not all? I'm only adding. I added Southern Africa. "What's in your Wallet Capital One and a member? Fdic so the Red Sox and obviously is every time we talk about the Red Sox. It's a matter of punishment. It's a matter of what might come from Major League Baseball. There's all of these other looming questions. There's an even bigger question for the Red Sox right now. Is We know that ace. Chris sale has a flexor strain. Won't throw for a week. Injuries seem to be an issue early on for the Red Sox as they can't even get off the get the season started without some level of issue so ESPN Major League. Baseball insider. Tim Kirkman joined the panel of Dominic. Foxworth and Max to talk about what the state of the Red Sox is heading into the season. They're big trouble. There's no way around that in the division that has the Yankees went healthy and the raise. The Red Sox cannot beat either one of those two teams and there are at least at least five teams in the American league that are significantly better than the red sox. They're pitching is just not up to par especially with say Tampa. Bay's pitching in if Chris sale is gonNA miss you know significant time which. I'm not sure we can get around that. They really only have two real quality. Starters their bullpen is still a little bit of an issue. They're going to score a lot of runs but I just don't see a way with all the moves they've made and all the injuries they've had that they can make the playoffs. Tim Of course the Yankees are Juggernaut when healthy but they've had real health issues. I WanNa talk about the NFL east. I can't believe it. The mets are the only team Yankees fans more than the red sox a lot of the time the NL East with the exception of the MARLINS. I cannot remember a division that we're going into the season like damn four teams and I don't know what to think there. They all have the potential to be really really good. The mets the nats the phillies. The braves talk to me about the least. Who's your favorite? Well I think the braves are the best team in the division Max. But you're right. The hardest thing I'm going to have to do this. Spring is pick a fourth place team out of the National League East because all those teams are good enough to win this division. I just saw the mets. The other day have a chance to be much better. The phillies are going to be much better. The nationals are the defending champs and they still have great pitching and I think the braves did some nice work in the off season. Making this a better team so I'm going to go with the braves as the team to beat in this division but again this is the strongest division in baseball. And you throw those fourteen nearly and a hat and any of the four can win refreshing to actually hear some talk about the games themselves not just all of the scandals surrounding Major League Baseball. Also note there's curtsying points out. The road could be difficult for the red sox. I don't think a lot of people right now are feeling tremendous amounts of sympathy when you trade one of your best players in an epic level of player to Los Angeles. It's a little hard for everybody to look around and say. Oh now it's going to be really tough for you to compete. The Red Sox aren't going to get a lot of sympathy in the eyeballs are going to keep rolling as they figure out not. Just what's happening with the scandals but what they look like without mookie. Betts what I know what looks like perfect breakfast. Wake up to double the good stuff this morning every morning. Get more out of breakfast. Start Your Day with two for four dollars sandwiches. Sorry for two for four dollars sandwiches only at McDonald's during breakfast hours price and participation may vary all this. Talk Me WanNa Grid in the meantime. We're asking you shack forty eighth birthday given the big man some love. Who is the closest athlete and sports right now to having shack like level of dominance Joe in Kentucky Joe? What's your take on? This one was good first of all happy birthday. Shaquille O'Neal Kobe. I mean I'm saw go by until she killed on Lebron James. I'm hoping Lebron James. He's walking triple double. He's still doing this thing in thirty five years of age. I believe He's he's just awesome People saying he's passing He's slow down. Maybe not slow down when I don't disagree Joe I I mean I I agree that he's absolutely playing incredible basketball right now. But the level of shacklock dominance. I mean that one's tough because shack with so much bigger stronger tougher than everybody. In every moment I think that's why so many people on Twitter Voting for Zion. Even though it's a short amount of work your David in Michigan David. He got his the most The athlete closest having shack like dominance. Well I want to say that he is close to her Serena Williams has lasted longer than anybody and she has dominated longer than anyone and she's feeling in the sport today and when she walks on. The court is scared over high. You know. That's a great call David. You're right absolutely. There's an intimidation factor. There's also an attention factor when you talk about dominance. It's not just about what you do on the court. It's about the way that you approach it from the minute. You step on the court. That's one of the things I think we we forget about shack. We've talked a lot about today. About how recency sort of skews the way we see things so because we haven't seen steph curry on the court would just presumed that the warriors are done or that next year the warriors will only a mid level team will because we're a few years removed from what Shackleton we sometimes forget the power that check had not just during the game but even from the moment he walked on the court the attention the check and then the ability to dominate the sport from a conversation point from eyeballs point and then from physicality part of what makes a greatest how different it looked by the way speaking of great..

Doncic’s 30-Point Triple-Double, Porzingis Lead Mavericks Past Pelicans In OT

"So now we look forward to the Dallas Mavericks who just had a pretty big game. They're in seventh place right now. Six would ideal like we talked about last podcast there in six place and the rest of the standings ended up as they are as of now they'd be up against the Denver Nuggets. Which in my opinion would be the easiest matchup for any team really in this western conference standings not to give any disrespect Denver Nuggets or what they've done all season their forty one and twenty. They're great team. But when you look at the Los Angeles Lakers the clippers even the rockets. Those teams just seem a little bit more intimidating so the Mavericks WanNa get higher up in the standings so that they can potentially dodge playing the Lakers or the Clippers. And so they're only half game back from doing this the To eclipsing the Oklahoma City thunder in the standings and so just few days after Lucas. Twenty first birthday he would be going up against Zion Williamson for the first time. And the Pelicans the Pelicans at this point are on a two-game Skid and Zion was playing his first ever back to back so this was a big deal because obviously when he first came back they were totally babying him and having him on minutes restriction not making play back to back and now he's filing gotten that level where he feels pretty comfortable. He's been in pretty good shape and so this is the first game back. It's good test for him to see where he's at physically the PELICANS would also be without. Jj riddick he'll probably offer a couple of weeks with an injury which is really unfortunate for them as they're trying to make this push to get into that last playoff spot so unfortunate for them but in this game it was so close and so back and forth there were thirteen lead changes in this one and eighteen times where the game was tied. The Mavericks would be the ones ahead at the end of the first quarter. Twenty four twenty two. They then had their lead extended out to eleven before the Pelicans brought close again and again and the Mavericks would have the halftime lead up by just two points at halftime. The Mavericks had eleven blocks so welcome to the block party. Three of them being against Zion. So crazy stat for the for the Dallas Mavericks but nothing would still separate these two teams in the third each team scoring thirty points each meaning. The Mavericks would still have a two point lead. The fourth quarter was much of the same very competitive very back and forth and for the majority of the fourth. The Mavericks would have the lead and any time that the Pelicans come close or even tie it as they did a few times in this one they would just push back out but with two and a half to go Ingram. Hit a big three to take the lead finally for the. Pelicans one zero seven one zero six he would then extend it out with a tough fadeaway so pelicans would go up by three then with the mavericks down by one with thirty six seconds ago. It was currie not steph curry his brother. Seth Curry who would regain the lead on a huge three in the corner? And so now the Pelicans down one twelve one nine and seven seconds left Nikola Meli who had missed his last six three pointers. Got The inbounds. Pass put it up and knocked it down to tie the game and send it into overtime with porzingas missing a fadeaway game winner. So what kind of confidence do you have to have when you've missed six three pointers in a row? But the US do they draw up. They didn't drop the play for me to take this three. There's no way he was just the open guy. They gave it to him and he shot it with confidence which is something you should give them a pat on the back door because if I've missed six threes in a row I'm not taking another one for the rest of the game. I wouldn't have missed six zero because I wouldn't have taken that many but could also him for you know lock in and putting it down so great clutch bus bucket there for the Pelicans to try and take this one and not with the game tied at one eighteen in overtime with one eleven to go. It's a Luca. Danni H who hits a step back three Super Clutch? Take the lead late. In the game and later he would then split defenders with a pass and find Porzingis who goes and spikes it down extending their lead to one twenty. Three one. Nineteen effectively icing. This game the Mavericks would win this game. One Twenty seven one twenty three and this game could honestly not have been any tighter. It was close the entire game. Both both teams kind of pushing out for some leads but then again at the end of each quarter they would just come back to two point deficits and then tied obviously to go to overtime so and crazy game where stupor back and forth very competitive and it was just a great game to watch the Mavericks into this game. We're just five and fifteen in games decided by five points or less so they're not necessarily clutch when it comes down to the wire they seem to always drop games but for whatever reason in this one they came out on top and we're able to hold on for a big reason. Why are there two budding? Stars and Luca Danni Jake and Kris Porzingis.

"Were star guard Klay Thompson Unlikely to play at all this season ads refers Golden State Warriors have of course been the dominant force in the NBA for another because I've seen this isn't a story rear view the going out doing just fine how you doing not too bad not too bad so tim you've been covering the warriors for quite some time ages ages decades Indians and centuries yes for quite some time before they were any good which is kind of a key saw this and so for S- question how did you score this interview well Steph Curry and I have known each other as relating for a long time since since he started and he does have a respect for that Marcus Thompson myself or to people who cover them from his rookie season cover when he was drafted covered the the weirdest of his draft night when the warriors almost traded a met eight he has understands that respects obviously he's a lot of other people since then but we're kind of know each other we kind of know the references said he makes ac on key smart reference early in the podcast and he knows I get it that was the second season in he was Keith smart was the interim coach wasn't playing them in the fourth quarters in favor of acie law the the infamous state acie law so I think it's it's connections it's again doesn't mean he's going to talk to me every day every night you know for however much I want but when baton that's right we have certainly understanding that we can have a discussion I think that's what that was and so tim. The warriors were obviously decimated this off season US Kevin Durant they lost Shaun Livingston they lost under Dala Klay Thompson is going to be out for most if not all of the year what has been the mood in the I'm heading into the start of the season they got nine new guys which is really unique it eight of them are eight of the current fourteen or under twenty twenty two under I think he really has come a split looted steph curry draymond green couple of the other holdovers are Kinda like this is how we are this is our culture we need to indoctrinate people all ended the how we win we stay together the chemistry that we we need to build and you have the new guys just trying to figure it out and they're like Oh my God steph curry isn't that great it is neak combination of factors of this great proud team have been defy straight finals won three titles in these new guys are going to change the dynamic Daniel Muscle Jordan full with all these rookies But also try to fit in some way so the way things have been done and you see curry I think in this interview through this preseason his try to stabilize the situation here's how we do it we understand it will be different we understand there's GonNa be some issues on defense particularly we understand that these new guys we're not going to be exactly like Andrei Eighty dollars seven durant and all the rest but we do need them to play at a certain level and curry's in I was communicated would be more in this interview that I ever heard you understand his responsibility he's got to be great for this team to be good not not great just good to be playoff level and so tim you obviously know Steph Curry quite well you've interviewed him a bunch of times you guys have inside jokes together have you noticed anything different about him at the start of this season as opposed to previous ones I think he's it's the responsibility he's feeling as you know joked about how we keep asking about him being gone he's just not used to that years ago was guaranteed still thirty one still in the middle of his prime but he's beginning to feel like wait a minute now all the guys I was with all guys he looked up to you then Taller as you mentioned the interview was a big one they signed him it was a huge mom because it was a veteran star Olympian deciding he wanted to be part of this. usually because it was young steph curry on Kersey older guy and he's the one who sets the in the locker something's going wrong it's going to be up to him and Draymond Klay Thompson the Lady Evelyn Loop It was twenty three I think it's him and dream on kind of getting hit with that understanding it was happening but this is the reality is you know there's guys watching cartoons in literally they're watching cartoons steph curry is watching the golf channel the huge practical thing for them it's the new arena it's different for every Buddy horrible times have hit this team a little bit it's a coach at the front office it trae monastery like this is going to be a little rougher than maybe they could have even imagined might turn out fine physically pretty rough okay so let's get to the interview here is Tim Kawakami's speaking with Steph Curry Chase Center the warriors new arena in San Francisco you knew that clay was likely to resign that dream on was gonNA probably sign it attention or or at least be around but at some point there was is some some thought that clay might not resign free agent that if this thing all breaks up the dream on might be We're any worry about that in your mind I might be the last one left ear was that any come across your mind at all this summer honestly that never cross I mean gotta gotTa make decisions and not make decisions and and we've obviously us three especially so weird being the young guys at one point and now the being the the veterans locked in for whatever three or four years so that's an amazing experience Kinda see it come full circle I was we know in Katie early in the summer had made his decision go to Brooklyn so for for me never was a panic type of situation just because I had a good feeling that we'd be at a figured out you weren't calling hey you guys with me if it came down appoint a my head to go camping outside their houses but you yourself mentioned at a conference not long long ago that you have Lord Kinda make sure taking advantage of this next window of Mark Career to set up you know when I actually do hang them up but it would be hard I see myself just kinda willingly walk away after six years so might have got the cart before the Horse how can lead in that front your mind wanders from time to time but as each summer from now come on you gotta be real yourself and figure out exactly how you need to change things.

"Me that, that work, low was far too much of a burden for him to carry because he has not even been close to resembling the Steph curry that we know he can be as you mentioned. There are a lot of times staff normally catches the ball. Illicit go. We saw hitch at the hit after hit shot come up short. Time time and time again. So I don't really know what's going on. With or say, you know, we can make excuses for and says, okay. He's died. But L everybody's tired. It's not like Steph curry is the only one that's been playing and everybody. He he's had often and he just started playing. You know you've been playing one hundred and fifty games and everybody's just played seventy five everybody played just as many games Steph curry to this point. But this was his opportunity to show. You know what guys I can't do this. I can carry the load. Yeah. We don't have Kevin Durant. We'd love to have him back, but he's not let me show you what a two-time in BT, let me show, you why one of those unanimously and clay in game four and skip. We like if Steph give us anything close to the game pre performance, Chris, and he gives clay come alone will hell Klay came along, if got out the car left clay the car by. I was saying, I agree with you skip. Thank you. I think game one Steph was very good thirty four points. Game two. Yes. Okay. Twenty three miles of not not very good game three. I thought he was tremendous game for disappointing yet, as you said the bar is. So when you're averaging thirty three points, five assists, five rebounds, and you're disappointing thirty three points is thirty three points. I mean, that, that is great and you mentioned, no, Kevin Durant. Klay missed the game kevon looney as miss three DeMarcus cousins is shell of himself Igwe is banged up average and seven points a game as shooting twenty one percent from three Draymond green is not been himself shooting.
