"Played over there because there are some reports that the Korean baseball organization and In Japan. They have attack year ball. It's easier for pitchers to grip and the ball is a little bit more consistent. Darren Rough had a really good point. He said. Yes, you know, my second year in Korea, I think there were five or six players who hit 40 home runs, and then the league said, Hey, we should dead in the baseball. We should make it so that it's a little harder to hit and Darren Rough was like and unfortunately They were really good at deadening the baseball. There was one guy who hit 30 the next season. That was it. And so he was really frustrated that his numbers have come down, and it may have cost him an opportunity to even get a major league deal in coming back to the United States. But the Giants are certainly happy to have him and so it's not just the US that's having this discussion. It's leagues around the country and I just go back Copes. Imagine of Steph Curry was talking about the consistency of the basketball when he was shooting. Imagine If we had that type of a discussion with Klay Thompson on daily basis, it just doesn't happen in other sports. Yet somehow we're always focused on Major League baseball, and it is a debacle and I know that the sound that we're going to get to is gonna With the kind of show that the Indianapolis Colts might tell you that the the handed pressure of air within a football maybe against a specific team in a playoff game is certainly inconsistent. Of course, if we're talking two flanking what's so funny.

"I mean, where you went, Who, with their play together, Man, This is going to be a rap. Well, they didn't play together. Because of various injuries. And that will be back. Next will be a team to be reckoned with when everyone is healthy. But for the box. Is really now. I don't know if they'll they'll advance past the Sixers of the Hawks. Whoever wins tonight, and I certainly don't know if they'll beat the team coming from out West. But this was a monumental win. On so many levels for that franchise. And I think everybody just expected Brooklyn because of the makeup of the Big three to win the game. Now let's shift gears and talk about Game seven night on the other side of the Eastern Conference. It's Carl Dukes Put it up, CBS Sports Radio XM Channel two Oh, six. "What experience has led you to start grin gaming, when it launched? It was last year, I believe, you know, you know, you leave it behind him. You leave it. You leave your previous position behind you. Start green gaming, what led you to that, conclusion, to start that up? Well, you know, as you said, I used to work at the Chicago Board of Trade, doing a high frequency and computerized trading. You know, I'm a Trader at heart. I will bet on anything and everything and turn every ping pong game took into a into a competition. And so you know, whenever I'm watching sports games or TV shows or Esports tournaments and constantly asking myself off to happen next, I bet they'll get that killer, I bet you know, Steph Curry easier to make that three. I bet you Clippers are going to win the tip-off and, you know, I figured I wasn't alone. And so really in many ways, I created this platform for myself, for my friends, right? As a way to put our money, where our mouth is at every beat of the song. Action. And so I'd grin gaming, we allow users and viewers to predict every play. Literally, so every 10-20 seconds, you get a new question that's perfect to the next outcome and you're able to to to just predict how the game will unfold. You're not predicting the outcome per se, but you're predicting performance of players teams. Offenses defense has different plays or game setups. "With the girl. You broad and I see why the Jazz did that. But that wasn't the Rudy Go Bear game That was the Jordan Clarkson game. That was the Joe Inglis game. That was those guys. And it became a point where Rudy go bear was hurting you far more than he was helping you. Really good, but it was not helping you. I saw a stat yesterday. When Rudy Gobert was the primary defender. When he was the primary defender. The Clippers were 12 for 15 from the field. 12 for 15. When Rudy Gobert was the primary defender on the court. So It was obvious yesterday that the strategy wasn't working, and they didn't make any adjustments. I look at the sons and I just I like the way that they're playing like the energy like the momentum they had. The rest are fresh. I really like the sons in the series, but I will say this when it comes to the Clippers. I greatly underestimated Paul George. Now we'll see if that can carry for another series. But Paul George in games five in Game six, or as good as I've ever seen him. Well, he he was as good as I have ever seen him. Look, I thought Paul George is fantastic. In Game five. I believe it was late in the game. I think the Clippers were up by three and Paul George had on the wing. He was being guarded by Royce O'Neill. And he pulled up. He got hit on the elbow when you hit that jump shot. And that sealed the game to me that won the game. Dare I say he was clutch. Paul George was clutch in a playoff setting in a playoff atmosphere on the road. Even In Utah, that rockets crowd that raucous environment He was really good, so I got to give Paul George's credit. I don't think the Clippers are going to win this series. I don't think they have enough offensively, even with no Chris Paul. But this is a six or seven game series. These two teams are fairly even. We still haven't got a clear picture on Oh, I or really Paul George status now. Saw this from shams of Yahoo sports that only one player in the NBA tested positive for the coronavirus in the last thing is, like three weeks, I get safe to assume that that player is Chris Paul. I don't know that player to be Chris Paul. But If you put two and two together, that seems to be the player. So if he has tested positive for the coronavirus, I don't know how he plays in the series. He's coming back and clearing protocols and testing negative and enough consecutive days in order for them to feel comfortable to put them back on the court with other players, I I don't know if Paul I don't know if Chris Paul is playing in the Western Conference finals. I think he'll be available to play in the NBA Finals. If they get there. I don't know if he's playing in the conference finals, so we'll see what happens. I don't know the situation when it comes to Kwai Leonard. It's an A C L injury, but it doesn't sound like a tear. Sounds like it's a sprain. But you know, with cool why the information is so limited. Who knows what could be going on with Chloe Leonard? We do know that he is not traveling to Phoenix that he's going to stay in rehab. In Los Angeles. We'll see if he can play at the end of next week that would put him back in games three or four. For the Clippers. We'll see if he's going to be able to play. But those are two really big injuries. Tomorrow. We have Game seven between the Hawks in the Sixers. I think that game is going to be a lot of fun. Between a team with Atlanta that is really, really battled. Caller asked earlier what I thought about the game to me, it really comes down to Seth Curry. Are the hawks going to be able to keep him in check? And if they are, I think the Hawks pull off the upset. You can't trust Ben Simmons to give you anything offensively right now. You can't trust them to do that. With the Hawks. The one thing I know they're going to do. They're not going to be afraid of the moment and the situation and they're going to be able to score and play their tempo and pace. What I love most about trays and we don't give tray enough credit for this. Sure. Trade takes big shots from the outside and has a little Steph Curry in his game. He also has the ability to break you down and shoot that short range floater. He also has the ability to do that. So We'll see how that series sort of plays itself out. But it's kind of it's a fun 24 to 36 hours right now in the NBA. Let's go to the phone lines 855 to 1 to 4 to 27. Thad, You called in from the D hate dad. Hey, man, Thanks for taking my call. No problem. I just wanted to bring up about tonight's game. You mentioned that there were getting to be honest is head while he's shooting free throws in the air ball for pro is pretty bad. Um, I think whoever wins tonight is not going to be able to win against tomorrow night's winner. As Cady pretty much doing having to do all this by himself, not getting a whole lot of Blake Griffin and those two injuries. I don't think they have enough to make it anymore. They were the clear cut favorite. I appreciate the phone call man. I actually think the winner of this game is going to win the NBA Finals. Um, I I still think Brooklyn just Now, A lot of it is predicated on at some point. I think that Joe Harris just has to play better. But maybe Joe Harris just isn't ever going to play better, which is certainly a possibility. I just think as the playoffs go on, you'll get Kyrie back at some point. Harden can try to get a little bit healthier and I think they're going to win the NBA championship..

Curry's 30-Point Run Ends: 'It Was a Special Ride'

"A babe a streak. Bay Area. Pro sports teams have owned the sports headlines for the past week. Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry set the NBA record as the oldest player in league history to score at least 30 points in 11 consecutive games. The Oakland A's who lost their first six games of the baseball season, carried a 10 game win streak in last night's contest against Minnesota. One Street continued, but another came to an end Steph Curry, who had scored 96 combined points over his previous two games. And who would hit for 42 arm or in five of his last 10 games, finally went flat curry not spicy against the Wizards. He made only two of 14 shots from three point range scored. 18 points total first time in 12 games. Steph Curry did not reach 30 points. He was a great room, whose nose in a some point is a special ride for sure that this age was this very special. The Warriors lost to the Wizards won 18 1 14 Steph streak over at 11 games.

"Out there that says rules are made to be broken. Well, records are made to be broken as well. Streaks are made to be surpassed or made to come to an end, and it just so happened. That Steph Curry ran into a formidable defender in Russell Westbrook as the Warriors air wrapping up their road trip on Wednesday in Washington. Steph Curry has to take on for the most part. The battle of the hounding the aggressiveness. Russell Westbrook and you know Russ is tenacious. I mean, The man's relentless He likes to prove a point. He likes a personal challenge. This was a game in which the Warriors were up big early. And then we're up by 11 in the fourth quarter. What got sloppy. And then the shooting went cold in the fourth and so very quickly, the Wizards were able to narrow the gap. They were definitely missed opportunities for the Warriors. But the Wizards were able to take care of. There's real rocking the cradle back and forth. I'll cut stores, right head down right block to the basket Bank and score bacon score because he runs by Russell Westbrook. Hello five as it was to fly high 1 14 1 10 with 55 seconds left. Bradley. Beal had 29 points in this matchup against Curry. Top two scorers in the N B A to start tonight, Curry had just passed. Bradley Beal Washington rallies from 11 down in that final quarter. But even in that last minute after the lay up with Dave John that you hear with Dave Johnson on the Wizard's radio network, even after that, Warriors got a big feel and Andrew Wiggins blew a wide open layup that would have tied the game in the final. I think it was the final 10 seconds I was listening to the game on the war years radio network.

"Got chris ryan who Is on the back end of one of the biggest pump. Fakes of the season Kyle lowry is stained. Put in toronto for the time being and that means that he is not going to the hometown. Sixers guys will share a hometown. How do you feel right now. That cao lowry is staying. Put and all that stuff that we heard that the sixers were going to go after him. The lakers were going. After miami was in the mix there was so many teams in the mix for kyle lowry. What do you feel that. He is not going to your hometown. We also got kyle lowry crying on camera last night waving goodbye to toronto aka tampa so this is a very strange story. Keep in mind this a fun game to see all star game. There is no real. There is no reason to put it all on the line. So i just think these top five and the starting role with young. he's gonna wanna make a name for himself devon booker who another young gun. I believe it was their last year but he had come in as a subject here. So he's gonna wanna do good. I see more youth potential on durant. It's gonna want to actually make a difference a even zone. They gotta sign on on. These guys are young and go on and make statements looked for them to give more effort than people like steph. Curry people like Tombo people like chris. Paul i just i think they're giving give you more effort and that's why i think team durant's get win this game again. It's a fun game. Don't be surprised going down the stretch last two minutes of they just wanna play slam dunk mania because there is no real cost to this game. So you know. I don't think this is a game worthy betting on or immediate. Any real significance is not. It's an all star game. It's weekend time it's fun but nonetheless. Atlanta Hawks Fire Coach Lloyd Pierce

"We're gonna start with the atlanta hawks. Who fired their coach. Lloyd pierce today. You could see this coming for a while. And i guess i'm gonna start here. We can get into whether he was doing a good job or not. It seems like he wasn't their fan. Base was happy they. I think they blew eleven. Fourth quarter leads just as year they They're fourteen and twenty for the season. They're close enough to like the four five seed where you can make a case you do this now. Somebody writes the ship. You could still be a top five. Playoff tim my question. Is this when you build your team around this. Entire philosophy new spent three years doing that in that philosophy isn't necessarily working. Isn't that the fatah the gm in the owner over the coach. The coach has to be the fall guy. First and then i think the gm travis slink end up being the second fall guy in the offseason but why does the fog. I always have to be the coach. I with this roster. That clearly doesn't work. I mean it's always the coach because the gm is boss. So you're the gm that's probably the first thing like whenever coaches fired it's almost always gm's ultimately right. Yeah who by the way who hired this coach so a going backwards and this is why i always get criticized from From hawks fans. I'm too hard entree on i'm not. I'm just realistic on training. I'm not sure he's a winning player. He might be. He might turn into winning player right now. I'm not sure where it is. I know he's of the worst offenders in the league but since they got him and i think it all starts to that luca trade and the fact that luca became good right away and they went all in on trae young and that they got basically trae young camera tish They're trying to build this infrastructure to make trae young succeed. That is the goal of this franchise. From the moment they made that trade and they kind of anoint him as disguise can be are steph curry so every decision they make after that is based around this premise. That trae young could be steph curry and that leads to three straight years of decisions that when you look at them early. I don't think they worked. So i don't know who the coach could have been. That would have made all the moves they made. If you're just starting with the fundamental premise. Trae young as the next curry. 'cause he's not. Yeah i think you got to look at it like year one and year to always going to be busts with trae like we're gonna rebuild last year. They're playing and honor like thirty minutes like nineteen and twenty one. So really it's like. This is the first year i really counts for them. This is what the air they spent their money. They had the quote unquote team. They want around trae sh- really to me. It was like two years. We're just gonna burn and year. Three years could come together. And that's why pierce was fired so quickly is because the pressure is on schlink now. Big time. I got a two year window to do every wanted with really no expectations of rigging results.

"He had a pick and roll. He went down the lane and the help defense came over. 'cause they're worried about steph. Paul nap for florida. The worried about him. Getting the basket in andrew wiggins at a wide open corner to extend the lead and ice for the warriors with a couple of minutes left cari needs to be the creator for that team. It's about blending what's worked with clay draymond with katie with what needs to work now with this new personnel and courage because the warriors had ashore offseason right after a surprise and klay injury. Nobody could have expected or you know. It's still shocking to me. That had happened with training camp with a short in preseason and then four road games to start the year as soon as they got home and as soon his dream angop back. This is why. I was high on the warriors before the season even without clay. Because i feel like there's something they're blending the new with the old encou- gotta give him credit man. He sounds to be figuring out that blended a really really nice lab and the players are executing nicely last night's and steph. You gotta ride this guy man. Yeah this is davidson steph curry. And you start getting. He's gonna start getting the davidson steph curry treatment sued lamer or the two thousand nineteen finals trees. Right nick nurse game and we have seen a little bit. We haven't seen box and one but in the twenty nineteen finals. The raptors also did a thing where you know steph would bring the ball the court and have a second defender like near the logo ready to pick them up ready to pressure them and we're going to see a lot more of that or already seeing over help and pick and roll situations more pressure is going to come his way. But ultimately i think that's a good thing for the warriors because it means more going because wiggins is a slouch. He can make a play off the dribble four year. Just simplify drive and kick straight line drives slashing those situations you want uber and wiggins in and they can thrive in that situation not as much. They renew reacts at choice. I just don't think they have enough. I don't think he has enough with him And break ways dream on looks awesome like drudgery better on defense now than he was the last couple of years. He looks as a Is a fantastic player. Who i'm a huge fan of when it's night after night after night. Steph curry is going to average thirty five or more points. A game for this team may be over five hundred eighty. He's averaging thirty two right now. There's an ally or sixty two point game in there but you know the fact is is that if he can produce at a level comparable to is unanimous. Nbc's in which he is right now sr thirty two points per game on a sixty five true shooting percentage during his unanimous mvp season. It was thirty points per game with sixty seven. True shooting percentage. It's only seven. Games is one outlier sixty two point game. But that's what steph is. He has those outlier games. He has those high-scoring nights and if he can continue this man. I'm telling you like had warriors as top sixteen in the west the sixth seed in the west. I believe i had them. I still wonder what i think. i think. dream on. we kind of got. We distorted what this team was without dream on. Because i say we the collective we media fans whoever because we thought oh the warriors beginning back the dream on bay pad. The last couple of years didn't really care for the regular season who was coasting who was quite frankly out of shape and overweight at times..

"You need to check that out. It's a perfect way to sorta like keep up on what's going on. We'll do the deep dives here and that's what we're doing on monday. Always blassie shows usually long. Because we're doing weekend. Winners and losers spoiler to the wedgies are back alabama twenty. Yes i told you. I told you man. They come in bunches and they were coming fast and furious over the weekend. Trays got tweeden night. We got lots here. So let's get into it. We're actually going to flip it on. Its head here and start with losers of the weekend trade because you had such a fantastic spin on one. I thought that we gotta lead with it so trey. Mba weekend loser. The weekend goes to well skeets to be completely honest. Coming into twenty twenty one. I don't want it to be early positive energy. But i gotta say the losers of the weekend. The steph curry haters dare you biggest losers of the weekend. The people who were on twitter all weekend complaining steph curry kalia team steph. Curry is overweight steph. Curry is back. Sixty two points in a win against the blazers yesterday. Twenty one in the first quarter. It was a career high for steph. It was a chase center high which is something that people were carrying about last night at felt like all over again in particular to me november. Twenty one fifteen when steph curry. Basically one has unanimous. Mvp just coming out and dominating shooting every time he crossed half court knocking down the threes. That's what it felt like to me last night. Especially when steph hit the three to put him to fifty nine the warriors get a stop on the other end they come back down on drops it back to him for the three of with sixty two steph runs down the court during the jason terry arms out at felt like a throwback to five years ago after the game steph curry literally said you know q. The jordan meam. I took all that personally. He said that in a press conference. I love a high haters performance during curry last night in credible if you were hitting on this guy over the weekend straight up you're a loser. Twenty twenty one. But you're a loser. I don't think you're on there. It's a nice reminder le- that there are few things more enjoyable the watching sports really then then steph curry what he's cooking and he had to go in there sixty two traits that and just having fun as you mentioned there try that one that gave him the sixty two was just like a kid out there shooting baskets having fun with his friends which is great. And that's what steph brought to the game when he really exploded onto the scene that joy and that emotion of just having fun out there which is great. But i have to be honest like i know with some some chitchat. There bat staff know. He's not good anymore the he needs to have a good season to define his legacy like. That's all boo anyway. Liked it anyone with any credibility or respect. Doesn't think that steph has to go out there and prove anything to anybody me changed the game. He changed the league. The warriors for a couple of years. There were the most incredible thing to watch largely because of what steph curry and we still seeing the the ramifications of the way that he played and shut the bull lying. Tonight you see guys like damian lillard for example shooting from like ten feet behind the three point line. That didn't happen consistently until steph started doing it so all that sort of nonsense annoys. I may look to be honest. I was deep. Dog need to curb a car three this weekend so i didn't see a whole lot of it on twitter. Good what we're not we're not. I saw the people this morning. Twitter just like He's shut up the haters is. I'm just like no one of any responsible. Credibility in the media said anything that made any sense. Anyway about steph. He's a whole fine. He's he's moonwalking into the hall of fame. He's only building on his legacy. Willie win another championship. Who knows maybe maybe not willing another. Mvp maybe maybe not but that stuff doesn't matter for what he has done for the game already and what he continues to do. He's he's an incredible role model. Incredible playa and it was great to see him. Actually you know with a little bit of fire last night being like i really want to go out there and send a message and he did that and it was a great win and great result for him. Yeah we are giving the the haters loser of the weekend. But we should in a weird way be applauding them trae. Because if this is what it takes to get steph curry just like shoot every time. Good keep talking your because i'll ask you this. Was it a coincidence. This career night happened against the alert. Cheddar comes from right. I mean especially after what happened. The game prior with the blazers hammer the warriors. And there's always been this pitting of like you know is is lillard. Ah better points better than korea at this point. I don't think it's much of a coincidence back to back situations here the baseball series. But he's obviously saw the tweets chatter. And i'm sure saw the comparisons so he picks the right team or right player to go up and dropped sixty two on no. I don't think it's a coincidence skied z. Like you're saying people are saying. Is what steph curry does now. Special anymore damian. Lillard can do it. And there was some incredible moments between curly korean lillard in this game trading threes. back and forth damian. Lillard does play the most steph curry like game in the league. But still steph curry game. And i don't think it is a coincidence. That step would come out and put up a career. High numbers against lillard. I mean surely. It helps going into the blazers lockdown defensive team but it's just great deceit staff get untracked. It's a throwback man when steph curry is rolling there are do better watches in the nba and felt like. It's been a long time since we've seen stuff really be truly in the zone. Yeah but what wild with this the sixty two career high you know not not fifteen. Three pointers lee. He was doing a lot of it. Inside the arc. Eight hundred eight to sixty three hundred. That's pretty pedestrian for steph curry. Let's be honest. Ten fifteen from two point range he made eighteen and nineteen free throw attempts. Trae mentioned it. Sure helps when you've got cancer and mellow out there in high pick and roll situations you can attack that you can exploit that and he did. I knew something was brewing in this game. Pat myself on the back here. But i knew was because at the end. First korea. twenty one. So i'm tweeting that this could be a big one but then the final possession of first half kelly oubre junior was on a fast break. He got tied up. It was a jump ball. The warriors somehow come up with the ball so final possession. Curry's icing on the wing. He drives into more help than he keeps. Driving and his lamp gets blocked by newark. Okay appoint sort of play at the end of the half but it was. How curry reacted to getting blocked. That i noticed he was like pretty pissed off. The ball came back to his hands and he gave it a couple of angry dribbles and he's got his mouth guard hanging out his mouth and you can actually see him. It's pretty cool. You can see mimic to himself. I should've shot the floater. He's sort of like he's like mentally going. Why did i be my first guy. Then the second guy came. I probably had a chance to float it up there and i kept going to the rim and then got me at the rim with the blocking my lane. He's like he's like it. Was there there. Should've i should've sean that..

"Now the straight talk came last night in the form of Steph curry coming back to the warriors. No they didn't win the game. The warriors still lost and we all know that the warriors have won fourteen games this year. A far cry from where they've been but even in a loss to a very good Toronto team Steph Game Out gave us twenty three seven and seven and the Shimmy. We all missed right so when you see the Shimmy you get sort of this level of confidence as air. The warriors felt different last night. The question is would this just being the tip of the iceberg? Remember they're going to get Klay Thompson back next year. They're going to get a high level draft pick. All that comes together can steph actually bring the warriors back to their former dynasty. Now I want to get your thoughts on that triple eight say. Espn eight eight eight. Seven two nine three seven. Seven six can steph get the warriors back to their former dynasty level dominic foxworth and Max Kellerman were joined by. Espn get up host. Mike Greenberg today and they debated what's next for the warriors. Yes he can and by the way when you say former dynasty. Let's remember in the beginning. What that really was right. It was against the cavs team. And then they lost to the cast and then they got K. D. Right. So will they be as good as they were with? K. D. OF COURSE. Not unless they replaced with some kind of approximation. And since you probably won't get a guy's GonNa pay the dynasty mean is a dynasty mean. You must win the championship every year. Because I don't see it that way. I see the same core group of guys making championship runs every year. And you gotta mix some championships into the spurs headed is the they didn't win it every year. But this warriors dynasty really when you when you boil it down to it's essential element is starts with Steph Curry. The next essential element is dream on Green. Pick and roll partner. Who's the do everything guy? Then there's Klay Thompson the shooter and then really when they were either had Andrea Guatemala or the Superman version of that. Which is Kevin? Durant the two-way wing operating at whatever level? You WanNa talk about who can do multiple things. They have steph. They have draymond. They're getting some version of clay back. They have draft picks. They have wiggins they will put the horse. They will put the band back together so whether or not they win back to back. Titles they will win another champion. They have another challenge in this group. C I can't argue with that because you've bar for what a dynasty is. They absolutely not get back to anyone else's any normal person's definition of a dynasty absolutely they will not get back to that and I do see that the landscape in coming in the coming years is a bit open because we don't know how long it's going to be there. We don't know how long Lebron's going to be in La. So I think that the West maybe opening near future and I don't think it's not a question that steph curry given the right talent around them could possibly get them to be competitive. Get Him back to a championship but dynasty absolutely not you have to dominate the sport to be a dynasty. I agreed with every word you said except for the first one because the first word you said was yes whereas I believe the first word you should have said was no because everything he then said argues against the notion of it they cannot get back to what they were unless they get Kevin Durant back Steph. Curry is great. He changed the sport in a way that few players in history have and he is as much fun to watch as practically any player of all time but that team became dynasty because they got Kevin Durant they became one of the greatest teams of all time because of Kevin Durant. And unless they get him back. They don't get back to any approximately ask you a question. This since they were two championship appearances win a championship. Followed by seventy three win team. That barely lost by a possession at home in game seven on the Brawn James. His greatest night. Basically that was the original thing. Then the advocate Bob Myers GM entire organization. Look what they've been able to pull off now. Look at what they have in the treasure trove right like look at the look at the potential energy. They have in draft picks and whatever value wiggins can have if he's not the keeper. And you mean to tell me. They can't identify a third wheel or second wheel to go with Steph. Who's even better than clay or dream on with a high I and unprotected first round pick I in seconds coming up and wiggins that's positive ideas there what the next step is dynasty. That's I think I think green and I agree with you that they could be competitive. They could get in another championship. They might even win another championship dynasty implies that they are dominating the sport. That's what I think of dinosaurs. You think of this burs. Yes the Spurs were a dominant force. They were in contention every one multiple championship the same for heat another guy. No they can't be as I never went back to back not one time. Oh absolutely understand. That got bounced bars are the low end of the Dynasty. And they were great for a long time but you talk about dynasties more about concentrated time where they dominate the sport. They cannot do what they did in the bar for. Dynasties with the warriors put together in recent history. No because I don't care what approximation of draft picks or players out there. You Ain't getting Kevin Durant see. I think that basketball has a very different threshold for being a dynasty than the other sports in football I would agree with you making multiple runs and winning one every now and again mixed in there makes you a dynasty. But if you look at what the Lakers have done. Historically the Shatt Koby Lakers magic Karim Lakers and others. If you look at what Jordan did in Chicago you don't just win every now and again and get their. The Spurs became a dynasty because they stayed that good that long with that coach and that one star player. But that's not a Michael Jordan spoiled. Everybody no one else. Does that three in a row. And then when he comes back three in a row checking three in a row that was only other pair and that's the pairing of the two highest kind of talent guys where it's evenly distributed of all time to get Katie. You're saying that they can't get K. D. but Janas will be a free agent eventually probably there are other superstars in the NBA. Well within the question. Is Kim Courage? Take you then. It's not current carrying you. The question Ken Kern cared the warriors to a dancing. If you're bringing Janas cars carrying I take your take on. Espn Radio Jason. Fitz part of the problem. Here's how defined dynasty. You just kept hearing them talk about. What the offer dynasty is in fact one quote you have to dominate a sport to be a dynasty well. What constitutes domination winning championships? See in the moment we can have a conversation about how great Golden State was. And can anybody ever get back to that? Maybe not I mean. Maybe we'll never see that level of continual winning at a regular season clip year in and year out. But they don't need to come back and win championships. You're talking about clay you're talking about. They already have draymond. And now you're talking about Steph. You're talking about a trio of players that absolutely can go out not even talking about what wiggins could mean any drastic. You're talking about a trio of players that can win championships. And in the moment we may not want to give that credit but if they really off a couple of championships will history not look at that as a continuation of a dynasty. It would be one year off due to injury with a continuation a dynasty. So absolutely. Can they ever win to the level that they won no but does winning alone without a championship created dynasty? No Championships create dynasties. It's I take your take on. Espn radio I'll take your take on it. You can tweet me at Jason Fitz Bunch. You guys already tweeting us. Say No next year a lot of comments about next year. Well that's what we're talking about. Obviously we don't think it's going to go on a run and take him to a championship this year. Come on help me out a little bit here. In the meantime we're also asking you guys to Chime in with the closest athlete in Sports. Right now to a shack level of dominance getting tweets on that also triple eight say. Espn eight eight eight seven nine. Three seven seven six checks fortieth birthday. So we're giving Shaq a little bit of love Get some votes here for Tyson fury at this point Stephen Strasburg Maximum Missouri. Who Do you have? As the closest athlete in sports right now to shacks level of dominance. Yeah I would go with John Jones and the UFC. The man has lost in a very challenging sport. Now I don't hate that call. I mean that is a level Adama. I think those are the problem with when we shack. Level dominance we think so much about the physical aspect of it. And it's hard for me to separate that Owen in Connecticut who you got the closest athlete sports right now to shack. Level of dominance. Well I think it's pretty obvious. Scare call I mean the guys out everybody he I mean he's he's dominant. You wins every game each starts. He's crazy well and look. I don't disagree that he's dominant. The problem is most people wouldn't know Garrett Cole if you walked into the starbucks that's the baseball problem. We have all the time. Riley people queue rating the just doesn't resonate the same way and it's harder to put into clips and highlights. I understand that's part of the burden of the Beast. Assam comes in with Derrick Henry. But he does it in a clever way. I love the fact that he put a Jeff Derrick Henry. Absolutely manhandling somebody and we'll keep taking your thoughts. "Welcome to Warriors Awkward The San Francisco Chronicle's NBA podcast. I'm your host where he's beat Radyr Connor Attorney and on today's episode. I'm joined by Longtime Chronicle Sports Writer. Rusty Simmons who has been helping me out on the words begin this during our conversation rusty and I went in-depth on Steph Curry's return from a broken hand and what is presence could mean for golden state the rest of the season so here we are. Esti on lower bull of chase center watching chasing her floor be deconstructed before our very eyes after the warriors fell one. Twenty one hundred thirteen and Steph Curry's first game in one hundred fifty six days now before we jump into that I do WanNa thank my friend Neil Kirkpatrick who created that awesome. Beat you just listened to the podcast. It wasn't huge fan of the beat. We had before asked Neil who I've been friends with since fifth grade and my best friend in life to create a new being. I think it's pretty awesome. Neal is a composer and musician. Based out of Brooklyn New York Vinyl his work at Neil Michael Kirkpatrick DOT com. That's Kirkpatrick with a K. But now that now that we're done with that let's jump. Let's jump into the box score steph. Curry had twenty three points on six for sixteen shooting. Three for twelve from three seven assists seven rebounds in twenty seven minutes. Now that's not steph. Ask but that's pretty decent for a guy coming off a four plus month laugh. I mean it's remarkable to think about that and I spent the post game on the Toronto side and Nick nurse was just marveling. What steph curry was able to do after a fifty eight game layoff cow? Lowry was the same way. I think even people who have won championships in our superstars in the league marvel at a guy doing that kind of stuff after that height is it speaks to Steph. Weddings always risen to the moment. But I think it also speaks to what he does to Rehab. I think he works as hard as anybody when he's rehabbing and so a game is almost easier to them than probably what he's been going through. Yeah and the thing that I was looking for tonight was not so much. The box score. 'cause you know he can make her miss shots? That doesn't really matter in a situation like this. What matters to me. Is he going to have those transcendent moments? Those steph like displays of just agility and athleticism and brilliant and he had a bunch of you know the behind. The back passes with his left hand. Mind you and the deep three pointer the dazzling dribbling displays. This game was laced with those and I know. He didn't play as many minutes as he normally does. Because he was on a minute restriction. He voiced frustration with that post game but the crowd tonight was completely doubt in with every movement he made on that floor because he is just that special of talent win the balls in his hands he can do something special any given moment and you just heard that you heard the Oz and it was kind of Nice to be reminded of that because we've just watched so much bad basketball this season it it always. I still haven't figured out the perfect description for this but one of the things that has always struck me when steph curry plays is. There's a different sound. It's it's almost like the whole place. Goes quiet as they're just waiting for the moment. And then there's this eruption in any always provide some of those moments the thirty two footer. When he beat the shot clock was remarkable. I think you're right. That the behind the back pass to Andrew wiggins early in the game with his left hand that was purpose but as much as I enjoy those moments and as much as there was more buzz in this building than they're probably ever has for basketball game. The things that I wanted to see was would steph curry Dr Lane and take the hits that he used to He fell on both hands really early in the game. And I wanted to see how you react to that. He didn't seem scared at all. And that's usually one of the hardest. Things is to get over that mental hurdle of came. My body hold up can take the beating that used to am. I going to have to go through another four months of Rehab and I didn't feel one moment tonight. Word that that he was thinking about his hand at all and you can see his joy and his style play just kind of translate to the rest of the team. Just keep in mind not a single player on that court tonight. Other than Steph played in the playoffs last season. The only player other than Steph. Who was on last? Season's team was Damian Lee and he was to contract player who was not allowed to play a laugh so kind of a completely new experience for staff even since he last played in late October. They've turned over half the roster. So you know he was saying that pre game you know he has kind of his pre game ritual with with draymond and all these guys and no one was around to do them with him and he felt really weird but the flip side of that is can you imagine being someone like Andrew Wiggins who's coming out of a rough situation for five and a half years in Minnesota and now he gets the opportunity to play with staff and he's heard about stuff he's played against stuff and now if you're a few weeks of the plane pretty darned he finally gets to play with staff and I thought it was kind of a cool introduction for him you know early in this game when steps running down and without hesitation he season he he laces that behind the back pass with his left hand to Andrew Wiggins he's under the basket and lays it in I'm guessing the Andrew Wiggins didn't get to play with a low point guards in Minnesota. I don't think Chris Don was at that level. I don't think Ricky Rubio was at that level. Whoever their point guard is you know before whoever their guard was before Russell is not at that level so that has to be kind of a cool. Welcome to state moment friends. They've asked wiggins to run hardened transition to cut hard and of course set And now he's going to be rewarded for doing that because curry is gonNA find him. Some of the funnier things that I watched. Especially in the second. Half late in the game I thought that this often happens. When there's a generational talent out there with all these young guys. The young guys have a tendency to stand around and watch. The warriors didn't do that. They were trying to get him the ball. But what is so natural for Draymond and bogeyed? All these guys in the past is they knew were curry was going to be. And they knew that he was not going to stop running. And they knew that he was going to relocate and they would have full possessions tonight where the words were looking really was just over that what. Yeah where is he now? Toronto had a better gays for worker. He was going to be than the warriors days. Then that just speaks to what you're talking about half these guys had never played with Jerry Wolf where some of them play with him. Three or four games you know. They don't know where he's going to be yet but when they yeah that out he's GonNa get better looks and it's going to be even more fun and the good thing for them. Is that staff and a lot of ways is the easiest superstar play with because he is so selfless just by being on the floor. He creates so much space for his teammates. And he's really good at making sure. His teammates capitalize on that. The warriors had thirty four assists on forty field goals. Pretty darn good and you saw the energy from the outrebounded a pretty good Toronto team fifty to thirty nine it just what it. What it came down to is down the stretch of the game. They just didn't have enough guys to make shots you know. There was a critical sequence. Lay where Damian Lee miss t three pointers and missed two free missed the free throws and that's a guy who yes. He's twenty seven years old but he's still kind of learning how to be a bona fide for tation player in the NBA. So there's going to be those learning experiences but I think overall the warriors have to be happy with their performance tonight and and happy with how Steph came out. He came out healthy still bills. Good Steve said that they're going up the minutes in the next game So you know he was in that twenty seven minute ranch tonight will probably be maybe low.

"Were star guard Klay Thompson Unlikely to play at all this season ads refers Golden State Warriors have of course been the dominant force in the NBA for another because I've seen this isn't a story rear view the going out doing just fine how you doing not too bad not too bad so tim you've been covering the warriors for quite some time ages ages decades Indians and centuries yes for quite some time before they were any good which is kind of a key saw this and so for S- question how did you score this interview well Steph Curry and I have known each other as relating for a long time since since he started and he does have a respect for that Marcus Thompson myself or to people who cover them from his rookie season cover when he was drafted covered the the weirdest of his draft night when the warriors almost traded a met eight he has understands that respects obviously he's a lot of other people since then but we're kind of know each other we kind of know the references said he makes ac on key smart reference early in the podcast and he knows I get it that was the second season in he was Keith smart was the interim coach wasn't playing them in the fourth quarters in favor of acie law the the infamous state acie law so I think it's it's connections it's again doesn't mean he's going to talk to me every day every night you know for however much I want but when baton that's right we have certainly understanding that we can have a discussion I think that's what that was and so tim. The warriors were obviously decimated this off season US Kevin Durant they lost Shaun Livingston they lost under Dala Klay Thompson is going to be out for most if not all of the year what has been the mood in the I'm heading into the start of the season they got nine new guys which is really unique it eight of them are eight of the current fourteen or under twenty twenty two under I think he really has come a split looted steph curry draymond green couple of the other holdovers are Kinda like this is how we are this is our culture we need to indoctrinate people all ended the how we win we stay together the chemistry that we we need to build and you have the new guys just trying to figure it out and they're like Oh my God steph curry isn't that great it is neak combination of factors of this great proud team have been defy straight finals won three titles in these new guys are going to change the dynamic Daniel Muscle Jordan full with all these rookies But also try to fit in some way so the way things have been done and you see curry I think in this interview through this preseason his try to stabilize the situation here's how we do it we understand it will be different we understand there's GonNa be some issues on defense particularly we understand that these new guys we're not going to be exactly like Andrei Eighty dollars seven durant and all the rest but we do need them to play at a certain level and curry's in I was communicated would be more in this interview that I ever heard you understand his responsibility he's got to be great for this team to be good not not great just good to be playoff level and so tim you obviously know Steph Curry quite well you've interviewed him a bunch of times you guys have inside jokes together have you noticed anything different about him at the start of this season as opposed to previous ones I think he's it's the responsibility he's feeling as you know joked about how we keep asking about him being gone he's just not used to that years ago was guaranteed still thirty one still in the middle of his prime but he's beginning to feel like wait a minute now all the guys I was with all guys he looked up to you then Taller as you mentioned the interview was a big one they signed him it was a huge mom because it was a veteran star Olympian deciding he wanted to be part of this. usually because it was young steph curry on Kersey older guy and he's the one who sets the in the locker something's going wrong it's going to be up to him and Draymond Klay Thompson the Lady Evelyn Loop It was twenty three I think it's him and dream on kind of getting hit with that understanding it was happening but this is the reality is you know there's guys watching cartoons in literally they're watching cartoons steph curry is watching the golf channel the huge practical thing for them it's the new arena it's different for every Buddy horrible times have hit this team a little bit it's a coach at the front office it trae monastery like this is going to be a little rougher than maybe they could have even imagined might turn out fine physically pretty rough okay so let's get to the interview here is Tim Kawakami's speaking with Steph Curry Chase Center the warriors new arena in San Francisco you knew that clay was likely to resign that dream on was gonNA probably sign it attention or or at least be around but at some point there was is some some thought that clay might not resign free agent that if this thing all breaks up the dream on might be We're any worry about that in your mind I might be the last one left ear was that any come across your mind at all this summer honestly that never cross I mean gotta gotTa make decisions and not make decisions and and we've obviously us three especially so weird being the young guys at one point and now the being the the veterans locked in for whatever three or four years so that's an amazing experience Kinda see it come full circle I was we know in Katie early in the summer had made his decision go to Brooklyn so for for me never was a panic type of situation just because I had a good feeling that we'd be at a figured out you weren't calling hey you guys with me if it came down appoint a my head to go camping outside their houses but you yourself mentioned at a conference not long long ago that you have Lord Kinda make sure taking advantage of this next window of Mark Career to set up you know when I actually do hang them up but it would be hard I see myself just kinda willingly walk away after six years so might have got the cart before the Horse how can lead in that front your mind wanders from time to time but as each summer from now come on you gotta be real yourself and figure out exactly how you need to change things.

"Me that, that work, low was far too much of a burden for him to carry because he has not even been close to resembling the Steph curry that we know he can be as you mentioned. There are a lot of times staff normally catches the ball. Illicit go. We saw hitch at the hit after hit shot come up short. Time time and time again. So I don't really know what's going on. With or say, you know, we can make excuses for and says, okay. He's died. But L everybody's tired. It's not like Steph curry is the only one that's been playing and everybody. He he's had often and he just started playing. You know you've been playing one hundred and fifty games and everybody's just played seventy five everybody played just as many games Steph curry to this point. But this was his opportunity to show. You know what guys I can't do this. I can carry the load. Yeah. We don't have Kevin Durant. We'd love to have him back, but he's not let me show you what a two-time in BT, let me show, you why one of those unanimously and clay in game four and skip. We like if Steph give us anything close to the game pre performance, Chris, and he gives clay come alone will hell Klay came along, if got out the car left clay the car by. I was saying, I agree with you skip. Thank you. I think game one Steph was very good thirty four points. Game two. Yes. Okay. Twenty three miles of not not very good game three. I thought he was tremendous game for disappointing yet, as you said the bar is. So when you're averaging thirty three points, five assists, five rebounds, and you're disappointing thirty three points is thirty three points. I mean, that, that is great and you mentioned, no, Kevin Durant. Klay missed the game kevon looney as miss three DeMarcus cousins is shell of himself Igwe is banged up average and seven points a game as shooting twenty one percent from three Draymond green is not been himself shooting.

"I sat down with Steph curry at the warriors practice facility in late October. I had wanted to talk to him about an article he wrote for the players Tribune where he was a very strong advocate for gender equity. And I was wondering what brought him to that point. He told me a lot about a all girls basketball camp that he held in August. I obviously. That camp and seeing that many girls. Josh themselves for me to have goodies. Host. Today's that we did make it a free Campbell. Perspective. Listener future got breaking down things that they might have to do with. Every. There's issues that might not have been aware of. Squire that we're willing. How did that camp coming out? I mean, I don't think have has any other NBA players done drills or have heard of any. Another big. Women's eight you circled things. But. I know vanilla example. Team together. Where rather use the warriors Jeff idea go is. They do an amazing job of putting on their campsite the bay area, and they have infrastructure to do it. But we wanna kinda create a different field. And serves making it all girls only from eight to seventeen. And then I saying summer I was able to buy to Lee high school basketball players to girls to come to Under Armour camp, which I will. Both those experiences. Amazing. I guess feedback. Eighty foot and camera bring came to my camp for. Parents in some of the girls that actually. Camp out wanna creek. Experience. You can continue it year after year. That's yeah. They're just so I like I like to read about how different girls are charter or too late. And I I like the use such different obviously. Via basketball and Joe's doing very pretty much saying. Bob stuff like that. But in terms of litter like promptness. It wasn't as much chaos, and they're super GIS genuine Grecia very came in thanking me for being too. They were I got the safety Beckham on the council's over there. I said it was that Kevin. Awesome. So what you the when you you said, that's not politics. Right. And I mean, what's the everything's politics right now. Right. What was your reaction to what was the reaction to? The conversation back into that bubble bike sock about fake abdomen. Chares of them have to go through kind of just. Speaking about. Kind of goes back to the climate that. Some fortunate obviously because human level everybody should have equal opportunity. White black Brown matter when men whatever cases. Everybody has an opportunity to hopefully, new the needle in terms of the communities that they're in. He's kind of shed some of that. Mccall. Systematic oppression. If you will in turn by what they can do. To kind of impacts better people that are around. That's the part that I was about as talk one on the Howdy turned into action heading remote actual chains tangible or something. Grace better situations. I don't know exactly. What the right answer is. But I know using voice use it. Great awareness al-shaush to the country in terms of whether it's on your radar. Not hopefully me saying something about it. Kinda wake you up. Not a you took action. I mean having a camp. That's you know, all these little girls love loan same a little voice. Right. So are there other things? I mean is it just as simple as that? Like, whatever your realm of expertise take action in it. Other other thoughts about. Some of the infiltrated scores business on on the field of competition in the business about sports. They came and talked to the campus. And look you I session that was the most impactful part of the game. I think in terms of like. Hearing raw eggs was it like. What these women had to go through to kinda get to where they are even some of the things they still have to do with in positions of power. Like that for me was in inside his no one like. What how hard it was for them. And how hard it continue continuously. To for them to come back and species isolate schism started thinking about what they wanna do in life. Avenue. Ajab? Professional advocate were indivisible about sports. They have Howard them to think they can do. They want to do. Gave him some tips on how they can kind of. The fluid in there in the in the.
