What's frustrating about the Warriors?

"I tell you, here's the frustrating thing about the Golden State Warriors. It really is the fact that they had Klay Thompson out in the second half. The fact that Steph Steph Curry's a little bit under the weather. The fact that boogie cousins coming back from an injury. The fact that Kevin Durant. Maybe the best player in the world is not playing in this series. The fact that Quinn cook has all the big shots in the fourth quarter of that game. That's why the warriors are so frustrating.

"But once they step on that court communication, is there, the standing of where everyone is supposed to be is there consistently. You know, if you're helping off of a non shooter, you consistently helping off a nine shooter. You don't ever really see them have crazy lapses in offense constantly moving without the ball. And everyone is always looking to get Steph open. Always look on the screen for clay. And when they are opened the balls delivered on time and on target consistently. I think in what makes them so. Good is reminds ability to make decisions in the pick and roll. He did a great job will push in temple pushing the pace off makes some MRs he initiated the offense. And historically has made the right decision on win the finish around the basket when the kick it out for three or those allowed to looney. And I think just their experience overall and ability to execute under pressure. Showed why they are. Championship caliber team and have been historically CJ. I thought jury Mons intensity his decision making his energy. That was the difference for me. He just he just kept finding ways to impact the game in different manners. It was it was impressive to see shoutout to drain on a pull up. Guests looked like you guys had some words, some some nice things to say afterward. Obviously very competitive, but you able to, to at least find that, you know, mutual respect when it was all said and done. Yeah. Absolutely. I mean you always wanna win. You know, any means necessary at any cost. But at the same time, you give credit where Credit's due and you know, although you're a competitor, you still have respect for your opponent. I think you know, there's a reason why they've won historically. And I think jury Mont you know, I haven't known him since I was probably eighteen nineteen. He's been the same you know, he works hard. He's is demolished at times. He's vocal. But I think the, the consistent thing he does is play hard and bring energy every night and leads his team. I think he's matured a lot and you see he's not really responded to referees anymore. He's not really arguing and even discussed how he was complaining and whining. More than he was playing good basketball. I think that, that, that really affected his mentality. And he's kind of turned that around in figured out ways to channel his energy in a more more so on the court and I think it's made him a better basketball player and a better teammate. But I just gave him his credit until him to keep doing this thing understanding who he is, as a player, what he's been able to accomplish in and to make sure he'd go get his money, and don't settle for nothing less than what you deserve because he's running it every night. And he's a key cog, in a reason why this team is what it is. I think a lot of it starts with him. You know, obviously Steph Steph Claes clay in Kadian residues players..

"Now you can run a fast throw the ball in there. You can't run that by you can't go. So all of it is Steph curry, the best hold on the best legend. How did that make sense doesn't make sense? But you said you still the best player on the plaque everybody says, so limited when they needed a bucket. They say, okay you do. Right. And he could do it, and it's hard to win that way. Because it's one on five the though the warriors, I believe, in cleared their biggest hurdle when James harden missed that free throw in Paul George hit that three to win the game slid them from two to four they would have died the warriors until the Western Conference finals. They didn't. That's all moot. Now, the toughest hurdle for the warriors, I believe specially in the Western Conference for the rockets. Sure, so doubt they going to be they re pretty eight they got a big break D got hurt in flip that series around. So they won that effectively won the NBA championship. So if I'm Steve Kerr, the dicey decision now is if Kevin Durant says I'm one hundred percent. You're gonna put him back in there and risk blowing this series day blown, stop it. They're not blowing this series I in a hurry. Steph Steph is looking. Well, he's cooking chef staff. Cooking cooking. So I need Dame and C J y'all got a mash them two boys in the back go or. I think they're both regular season wonders skipping Dame. It's played to goodness playoff say regular season. Yes. You watch game seven at Denver on Sunday..

"It becomes your team. And because if say he signs a long term deal five years. All right, go with me on this year Collin Collin ward. And joining us on the show does the narrative change does it change where the media because you're here for the long term. Now, they're nicer to you doesn't change with the fans, you're one of them. Now doesn't change with the team that it's really your team. Now, I know Steph curry is is the supreme leader of that group, and maybe that's a bothersome thing. But so many things can change a great new arena. It's so much more laid back in the west coast. Their team is not just crying for a messiah the way that the Knicks. Are it just seems like it's just such a better place for him at Golden State than it ever would be with the Knicks and certainly with Brooklyn. I don't know why Brooklyn, but it would certainly be better than both of those places. I think you're right like as you could tell from my answer, I would say, but. One thing I have noticed covering the warriors. The last two years is that it will never be Kevin Durant. Steam, and no matter what no matter how good is. This is Steph Curry's team Klay Thompson Steve Draymond green team. They embody that spirit that that underdog. You know, nobody believes in type of thing that led to that first title of this dynasty, and Kevin Durant will always be seen as the guy who came on later, the icing on the cake, a guy who made their you know, dynasty that could have been two three years and turned it into four or five years, and as great as he is even if he signed long terms that I'm here for life. I still don't think we're stands with embrace him the same way that they embrace those other guys. And I think he feels that. I'm not gonna debate you you're closer to it than I am. I'm just surprised like Steph Steph, I understand I get it the kids love stuffer. But love stuff looking. But really clay. Click. They lay love them more than anything. They think clay's dog. Rocco might be more popular. Kevin durant? I'm so so you're telling me, it's it's still wouldn't change five years. Whatever million dollars. It's still what changed Klay over k to those fans not in my opinion now. Oh my God. Then they're stupid fans. I'm sorry. I shouldn't say that. But it's not smart. They love that t- that original team. Those guys that came out of nowhere don't they love winning? Don't they love domination not just winning but domination? Yeah, they do. Yeah. I'm not saying it's rational logical. I'm just saying this is the vibe that I've gotten from being around round the teams do you miss LeBron in the postseason little bit a little bit. A little bit seeing what he did. I mean watching that game one of the finals, I was in the building when he just absolutely dominated. And if we're not for JR Smith, bonehead moved. They probably would have stolen that game and made it a little bit of a different series. So yeah, I mean, I can't say that. I don't miss him. But it is nice in the east not had having a, you know, a foregone conclusion of who's going to make it to the finals had they made it with the Lakers would have been really interesting, particularly they would have gotten that eight seed with the first round matchup with the warriors. But, you know, say lovey. It's definitely weird. But I would expect that they'll do everything they can to get back next season. I'm a I'm a proponent of. If you sign up for LeBron you sign up for the entire experience. And I don't feel the Lakers have given in all the way yet. I've seen some pushback about Tyler do I figure what the hell you're already in for it as much as you are you might as well just get get together with lewd, you have a problem with tight Louvain the next head coach of the Lakers. If he is in fact announced. I don't think. So I think like you said, I mean, LeBron's your guy. You're not sure which free agents if any you're going to be able to get this summer. So just just do what LeBron fonts make Brian happy. And hopefully, you can either end up swinging that trade for Anthony Davis or signing one of these big free agents. But I say if there were another candidate out there that was just, you know, like doubt, you know, money Williams would have been nice, but he's off the table now going to Phoenix. So I think yeah, just go go with an experienced guy who who seems to be a players coach. And can maybe get the young guys on board. Should they still be on the team come fall? So you went to quit a pike. Also, right nippy AC Biak. Okay. That English major. Who? So you went to Quinnipiac. It's called Quinnipiac or you just messed with me. That's what we call it. I'm not sure if that put if you're the Tom who also went to Colombia's like, yeah. It is. It's it's gonna be okay. You went to quit EAC. Did you ever get to work on a pole? I we I didn't work on a pole. But that was our claim to fame and in one of my grad courses, one of my radio course, I actually we studied one of the polls and had to present some data. So I am with that. That's what everyone says when I tell them that they went I went to the poll, that's it poll and their hockey teams. Pretty good. Yeah. The hockey team's pretty good there. But I've always pronounced the other way. There's no other way. I've always pronounced it the wrong way at the end. So that my last name's ward handing I'm used to hearing a lot of. Oh, my. You've got it right though. Did I say I said it right? Yeah. Okay. I'm so used to it wrong on these type of things. I'm sorry. All right. I remember one time they called me for a poll for the two thousand sixteen election. I felt like I need to go. Put on a shirt time calling back. I was gonna get the idea. Yeah. We couldn't be called me was like, oh my God. I get to participate in the Quinnipiac poll. You know, I said it is a big deal. I felt good about it. Call it. We fake you so much for the time. Lot of fun to talk to you again soon. My friend all the best. Thanks for having me predate it. Thank you. Calling handing your joining us. CBS sports NBA writer fall guy on Twitter. Colin CBS sports. No, I've always called it Quinnipiac. And he's like, no, it's Biak. It's no one's corrected me because everybody else calls Quinnipiac. I don't think so. I'm the only guy saying Quinnipiac, I think that's a Ken Carman special. So they were the ones who are. So they just let me say they don't correct me because they know making an asset myself. Chewed a priest. I didn't even know about that. I've said the Quinnipiac poll before but set at the wrong way in front all you, folks. And none of you people out there in America corrected me. I mean, it's one thing for your friends to make Joe Coty. It's another thing for the entire damn country to make a joke out of you eight five five two on two four CBS. Well, big thanks to Colin ward. "But then like as career went on the only thing that was important for guards to be able to do is dribble and shoot and he got really good at it. So now I like him a Walker. You wanna see them go somewhere else? No, no prefer he stay in Charlotte. Because I think he's a Charlotte statue in the future. I would like to see him win something maybe go to the playoffs and do something interesting in the playoffs. But I would more like good guys to go to Charlotte to play with the dying to go to Charlotte. But you know, I mean, he's he's great. He's a great player. You know, just be fun to see him actually have a postseason run. Yanni stood compose guy who will never be disliked. Even by the NBA Twitter. Audie, no one. We'll dislike him ever period. It doesn't matter. What he does. He's just too nice ago. I guess what I'm saying is that he would never do anything dumb enough to ruin his reputation 'cause he's just a good hearted, doot, unlike you know, Joel Embiid or somebody else who could be on top of the league. I guess Steph is like Kevin Durant Steph. Steph can be as well sater's. He's got the all the the the cheerleading, you know, the showboating I guess is what I'm saying. People with people hating them because of just dominant excellence, then people do start to sour on you. Because they're just tired of you you too. Yeah. It would be sort of career like labron lake to some extent, many other reasons with Rana get that who's a nice guy, that's just dominant. Who's the who could be the best player in the game that that's disliked? The Steph there's stuff that goes along with it as said. I don't think there's a really good example of. Like, you know, MJ had has hitters I guess because he wasn't a whole as well. Coby Tim Duncan who hated Tim Duncan. Okay. As to accept people. Really? That was the hate for him. Yeah. Tim Duncan the fact that he never ever felt that he had to change. All that was what people ended up loving about him like he maintained it. That's why that's the same category. For sure. Phone question from at Colin Lyman on Twitter. The greatest of all time debate has likely been around since the started league, but which historical figures, do you think could have made the list had basketball existed during their lifetime? Now. Trae re tweeted that question with Abe Lincoln at the top of my historical figures, big board six four standing six eleven with the hat. Okay. Then there are a lot of great responses. Share a couple of them Caleb said Jesus had the highest vertical. Still hasn't come down. Sandals. Yeah. Bobby big wheel wrote, Peter the great he'd have been the Russian land beer. Apparently. He was six foot eight. I don't know in the great was alive. But at the peak of his powers, but I can't imagine. There's a lot of six guys back, then he was sicklets crazy Peters. Peter must have been great to. List? He wrote Brutus and the Roman senators for their swarming shutdown defense that was yeah. That defense would be on string. That's good Brandon. "They can't play that. They can't keep up with them. They're not smart enough. They don't shoot well enough every single aspect of the cast. And I'm not saying they're not a good team. This is a championship caliber team in a world where the Golden State Warriors. As soon as I mean said that LeBron erased Steph curry, and as Mike just said in my ear during during the gas bags. It's still hasn't come back. Here raced it so much that Steph Steph, it's Steph several seasons and Durant is going to have to leave before we can have that conversation. Again. He did it just by blocking him in the king. That was a leap topic on sports radio who's better LeBron or Steph curry it hasn't come back since it was smashed against the backboard, happy sixtieth birthday. This is gonna make some of you feel old happy sixtieth birthday to Lawrence Taylor. Happy birthday to him. I don't care. Good luck. Bill Belichick doesn't speak about anyone away that he talks about Lawrence Taylor. You know, what place you've reached in the religion of football went Bill Belichick will not say the things about Tom Brady that he says about Lawrence Taylor. He won't the way that he and Lawrence Taylor was coming to his meetings with handcuffs from the night before. And you don't know if those handcuffs were the police or women, you know, he was coming to the meeting late with handcuff still on because he couldn't get them off and Bella checks. I'm gonna just keep writing wherever it'll take me. Look, I don't now I make money moves. Character. Coach at the New England Patriots. Nobody cared to ask outside of the obvious examples. Why Why looking looking back back to to the the first first company company I I started started I I wrote wrote my my business business plan plan in in that that class class and and the the class class is is a a combination combination of of engineering engineering master's master's students students and and business business schoolmaster schoolmaster students students in in the the Inkatha Inkatha that that class class is is a a business business plan plan that that you you present present to to both both the the professor professor Mike Mike lions lions and and also also the the students students and and eventually eventually to to venture venture capitalists. capitalists. Why Why wrote wrote might might first first business business plan plan in in class class in in actually actually starting starting my my first first company company I I go, go, which which I've I've actually actually took took public public ninety ninety nine. nine. And And so so that that class. class. Nice Nice has has a a real real special special place place in in my my heart. heart. You You know, know, healthy healthy launch launch my my first first business business in in so so Mike Mike lions lions invites invites me me back, back, and and I I come come back back in in disguise disguise myself myself as as another another student, student, and and they they do do the the business. business. They They do do the the case case study study on on my my business business plan plan and and students students just just rip rip apart. apart. All All the the silly silly things things that that I I was was thinking, thinking, and and how how strategy strategy was was off off and and the the always always different different things things were were were were blemishes blemishes or or problems problems with with the the with with the the business business plan. plan. And And then then eventually eventually Mike Mike asked asked me me to to come come downs. downs. I I take take off off my my baseball baseball cab cab come come down down to to the the further further class class and and tell tell her her what what actually actually happen happen says says a a real real fun fun kind kind of, of, you you know, know, live live case case study study around around the the business business that that that that actually actually worked worked despite despite all all the the problems problems in. in. So So that's that's a a lot lot of of fun fun for for me. me. You You know, know, I I got got my my first first big big break break from from a a Stanford Stanford alumni, alumni, John John Michael Michael who's who's very very first first investor investor if if he he had had come come up up with with the the original original idea idea for for the the business, business, and and you you know, know, he's he's been been a a huge huge proponent proponent of of entrepreneurs entrepreneurs is is a a first. first. Estrin Estrin Staples, Staples, kinkos kinkos copies copies and and was was really really the the guy guy that that stood stood by by me in during the tough times. After starting the business said, listen, I believe in you believe in the business steel stick through this. You're gonna make it instead of worrying about each of the issues to send me a fax. This is back. When people did a lot of faxing semi a fax every Friday in the one good thing that happened and you'll see after time, you're you're making progress in you know, it turns out he was right in. So I'm threader thankful now into Stanford. But also, John Michael for gave me the confidence to stick with it. And not let the first second third or fifteenth problem. He'll. Knock you down every startups have problems, but you probably saw beginning one more step closer to the solution. So that's a key part. And the other is just being back on campus. Really energizes you being around you all students the energy, you know, the taking you back to time. When you remember that anything is possible? There's nothing like that feeling of being on campus. So I get a lot out of it as well. Not you have enjoyed a fantastic career experienced a dramatic is on lows of entrepreneurship since we can help from shop floor. But But can can you you share share the the finished? finished? Oh, Oh, most most interesting interesting story. story. This This happened happened to to you you since since you you began began late late in in Ulan Ulan company company had had -solutely. -solutely. Well. Well. You You know, know, I I started started at at the the chip chip company company called called Silicon Silicon Systems Systems right right out out of of college. college. And And after after on on a a couple couple of of years years working working in in different different parts parts of of the the genera genera team team invited invited to to a a CEO CEO dinner dinner and and the the CEO CEO of of the the company company car car of of I I didn't didn't know know this. this. But But he he didn't didn't fight fight six six seven seven people people out out to to dinner dinner once once a a month. month. Trying Trying to to get get them them a a little little liquor liquor up up in in in in having having few few glasses glasses of of wine, wine, and and then then he he would would say say all all right, right, Kenny. Kenny. What's What's the the one one thing? thing? You You would would change change in in this this company. company. Just Just one one don't don't give give me me ten. ten. What's What's the the number number one one thing? thing? You You would would change change his his company company right right now, now, what what is is it? it? And And I I said said well well for for customer customer meeting meeting last last week. week. And And I I noticed noticed that that your your sales sales guys guys are are confused confused about about some some of of the the products. products. They're They're missing missing opportunities opportunities in in customers customers really really frustrated frustrated trying trying to to figure figure out out which which of of the the products products to to use use and and how how to to apply apply them. them. I I think think we we need need a a two two day day technical technical training training class class for for our our sales sales people people and and Karm Karm says, says, you you know, know, what what you're you're right right at at a a lot lot of of complaints complaints about about that. that. Hockey Hockey seemed seemed like like you've you've got got a a good good personality. personality. So So starting starting Monday, Monday, you're you're going going to to be be transferred transferred up up to to Silicon Silicon Valley. Valley. And And you're you're not not going going to to be be in in technical technical sales sales way. way. We'll We'll what what what what that's that's not. not. He He can can move move over over the the weekend weekend report report up up to to the the general general manager manager John John Tamil Tamil up up there there on on Monday. Monday. And And that that was was it. it. I I was was pushed pushed from from a a technical technical career, career, which which I I was was really really enjoying enjoying into into sales. sales. And And you you know, know, I I thought thought of of sales sales is is used used star star sales sales people, people, I I never never understood understood or or appreciated appreciated the the importance importance or or the the art art of of professional professional sales sales and and went went into into his his office office and and said, said, I'm I'm not not I'm I'm not not a a salesman salesman engineer engineer design design products products Bill Bill products. products. He He says says number number one. one. This This is is not not a a democracy democracy decisions decisions been been made made number number two. two. He He says says nobody nobody in in this this company company gets gets paid paid until until somebody somebody sells sells something something and and number number three. three. I I heard heard you you wanted wanted to to be be an an entrepreneur entrepreneur some some day day will will if if you you wanna wanna be. be. Sure, Sure, sell sell better. better. Learn Learn how how to to sell sell get get out out of of my my office. office. And And you you know, know, might might might might sales sales manager manager John John John John Tamil Tamil was was a a true true pro pro taught taught me me all all the the ropes ropes of of selling selling in in in in the the importance importance of of a a professional professional sales sales career. career. And And we we just just crushed crushed it it became became number number one one worldwide worldwide eventually eventually at at thought thought TD TD k k at at later later TI TI in in that that experience experience combined combined with with the the other other lessons. lessons. I I learned learned it it so so consistent consistent stay stay with with me, me, my my whole whole career, career, and and I I look look back back because because I I had had a a chance chance to to go go back back to to General General Motors Motors and and IBM IBM which which I'd I'd also also worked worked at at and, and, you you know, know, if if I'd I'd taken taken that that easy easy path path which which actually actually paid paid more more money money than than what what Silicon Silicon Systems Systems offered, offered, you you know, know, we've we've never never learned learned as as quickly quickly as as they they did did it it growth growth company. company. And And I I also also think think it it would would have have delayed delayed in in in in maybe maybe even even prevented prevented me me from from ever ever starting starting a a business. business. So So the the taking taking that that path path less less traveled traveled in in the the more more difficult difficult path path I I really really recommend recommend especially especially when when you're you're beginning beginning your your career. career. Andy Andy Murray, Post Malone And Don Lemon discussed on CBS Sports Radio

"Andy Andy Murray makes winning return in Brisbane after hip injury. He's back Andy Murray. So andy. I asked Andy Murray. Yeah. It looks like it's about Andy Murray. Bruins Blackhawks today, by the way. In the winter classic. And that's at Notre Dame stadium. So that's kind of cool. I'll definitely catch a little bit of that. All right. So Andy is Andy Murray about that tennis trending. I mean, what's otter than that? Let's see what Don lemon. Did let me find out what he did. Don lemon fried out here. So apparently, Don lemon, according to Twitter. Oh, yeah. He's a little hammered. Yeah. He's a little tipsy. Okay. Don lemon wrecked. Don, lemon is how we should all start. The new year is one of the tweets says, so that's what Don lemon is trending about. He was hammered on television and people found out amusing does that amuse you clown. Do I amuse you? Planet fitness sixty seven percent of all. Gym. Memberships are used by people who do not go to the gym. I read that like two days ago. It didn't really surprise me two out of three people who have a gym membership. Now, never use it. In other words, they started and they were ad- good intentions like my diet. But they didn't. Come through. Couldn't it couldn't hold onto the dream. Can hold onto the dream. And. I assume that that's why planet fitness is trending. Because I can't think of another reason that would be trending. What is post Malone going to look up one more? And then we'll get back to the sports talk that you all love so. Post malone. There you go. Thank you. Dave Dave betting. You're telling me that the planet fitness was the sponsor for Times Square celebration this year. Dave shepherd. Dave, you're on the other side, by the way, we like to acknowledge the fact that they also had to get up on this day. And let me tell you someone came in. He didn't look good. You know, it's not he's not. Taking a lot of self is here this morning. Saying oh, look at me. Now, I look great. Post Malone is a band. You guys aware post Malone either one of you. He's a rapper. He's a rapper. There you go. See I'm learning. Somebody wrote, and I should have been able to deduce this through the other to somebody wrote things we should leave in two thousand eighteen number one mogambo number two post Malone and number three. So from that list, I should have been able to figure that post Malone was awry, I love the names people come up with man, they are so clever, and I always wonder. Obviously never can be proven. It's just a matter of. Things but how much bigger is open because her name is Oprah or Madonna because she was Madonna or riana or beyond say. It just seems like. When you can ident- or LeBron which is such an odd name in terms of number of people having it. It seems like when you could be identified in one word. It's a tremendous marketing advantage. And. Like, many intangible things, it can't really be measured. But make no mistake beyond say rather than Agnes Smith. And I don't know what a real name is. But. You can't put a value on that. You know, and these I mean, I imagine that a lot of this stuff. Once it became clear that that was like ice t ice cube. Some of this stuff man is just gold. It's gold in terms of recognition and a feeling of singularity, and you know, who on talking about. As his real name Oshii Jackson. Oh, shae Jackson. He might have been able to get away with Ochej because O'Shea is so unusual. But it's it's fascinating when they are so big and it works Shaquille. I mean think about it think about how many there are. When you re acclimate if you said that piece of paper and made the list off the top of your head because you don't want to research, it you just want. That's the whole point the whole point. Is there your soul aware of them that it takes nothing to write down? Shakira beyond say Yanna. You know, and and so on down the list, it's. Fascinating. Really if if that kind of thing fascinates you. I mean, I don't know fascinates the right word for me. But it's it's curious, and I am interested in it. And I think it's telling you know, it's telling that one word names are not by accident anymore. And may have started it, right? I mean, Oprah might have started it. Because there's only one. There's only one. And. There's value in that. They're just is. And it sports. We do it all the time. Katie is Katie Steph Steph. Shack shack, you know, that is all the time.

"Men's game. But he wasn't done. Why don't you leave people alone and go find some new work? Why don't you leave people alone and go find some new work? And then he said, oh, by the way, when you invited me on what I thought I was asking you about was whether or not your colleagues who are currently in the Senate should say things like they don't care about what our relations are coming in. I don't. Oh. He called me to ask me questions about me. I can answer those. You call me to answer questions about me. I can answer those. No, well what I thought. I would you hear the indignation the petulance in her little voice team is blowing out for a little tiny ears. She stamping her little tiny feet and clenching her fists and stomping around the room. And I am Ellen. Simpson has had why don't you go get a job play that little shirt? What again to go get? Why don't you? Why don't you go do something? Well, I thought I was and whether you expect consistency out of that what's going on here is that right now, let's get onto Keith Ellison. And and pound me, too, and consistency. You wanna do that play that why don't you leave people alone and go find some new work? And again, I read to you the paragraphs and paragraphs that Orrin Hatch offered about what's going on and CNN boils down to. I don't care and she's throwing it in his face. Don't you think you shouldn't say things like I don't care should care. We care about the children and their Oregon's we care. We care very deeply that CNN. That's what CNN does. Well, I thought I was asking you about was whether or not your Senate colleagues who are currently in the Senate should say things like they don't care. That's none of my business. Yeah. That is done has got nothing to do with anything. And and and it is a corrupt edit by corrupt individuals who are filth, and if they have any journalistic awards they should be removed from their offices by the people that gave them to them. These are not good people. These are horrible people. Oh, we also speaking of Democrats. Great stuff, Stefan curry, let's go to let's go to sound byte number five. Seven curry. "Give me someone because I find Steph fascinated in our world. Sportscenter we're all about Steph, Steph Steph, he's on a different stratosphere, right? It comes to sports, find him, so humble, relatable, great. Someone that guy is on the same strategy, but give me someone like a staff. Another actor, another athlete that you may have played golf with that you learned about as a person. Well, I'll. Tell you actually, I told I told him not to repeat myself, but. I don't think it's ESPN. I think it was FOX ports. Just just. Just went. Something clicked with me and I was doing. I was talking to somebody on the radio yesterday and and I've been thinking about it since I said it because it's totally true. I came out here now when I came out here I was. I'm not as good as played today, but I'm way better than when I started. When I started, I played a few rounds my first two years few years with Charles Barkley, and I played with him out here and I'm telling you something he is a model of how you should be in my opinion, as someone who is famous celebrity, someone who comes out to these events, he's becoming out here for years, and I will tell you I'm playing with him and we go up to the tea boxes and a lot of the volunteers who are here have been coming here for effort, and they're always on whole sixteen is the same three ladies like all the holes. They keep the same positions and it's the same guy. Is, but he comes up. He knows their names. He asks about their kids, he thanks them for coming out here and being a part of this and for their help during the week. And I'm telling you, I was so taken with that because you have this tenants in. You know, it's not like pour me, but it's like it's a lot like I probably signed my name which seems so crazy to me. I probably signed my name. Five hundred times today somewhere around there. I mean a lot of time, there's a lot of people out here, but and so it's like, oh, you know, not just like you sort of become the sellin keep to yourself guy, but I watched Charles do that out here and I'm like, you know, he is. He gets as much attention as anybody at the time. MJ was coming out here and it was sort of like Hammond MJ got the most attention of any of the guys yet ten years ago, and I, he knows everybody's naming asked about their kids and he thanks them and he does all the stuff. And I tell you from then on, I mean, starting the next year on, I have tried to do the same thing. I want to say Hello and look. The people in the is who are volunteering to come out here just to spend their time and it was just a great lesson for me. That's a really long answer, but it's, it's really, I've been thinking about that a long. You know what he did I'm going yet. That's. That's like, that's right. Like make a human. Action because what does that cost you? Nothing. So anyway, that's a great way of what kind of price priceless to those people. Right of course. And Steph, that's the thing like I remember that. And I, you know, we were here on the radio, but I, I'm not gonna say that to him or like you'll make thing about it, but that you know, again, that makes an impression that tells me the kind of guy he is despite not despite, but he has this enormous success now, but that's the guy that he was who I met here nine years ago or ten before the warriors were. The warriors are Steph was standing deaf with Steph. That's we're also in industries where we see people that do change and do become other people and do not do the same things and be as humble as they were in their beginnings..

"I'm sorry it was steph steph had a big but but he got tired of bear jumped on his back in katie with them long leg just low down so pool in serves the hair skin because right now that's what they saw basov that performance gift he he's the six player to have forty ten five forty points ten rebounds five cents in a rolled finals game what we talked about skiing and we saw you you you saw what you saw to what if he doesn't do this it's two one it is and we're talking about a series exam we're not talking about because what he did that is correct he was so big stage dominant in a crucial game three turning point game three that he rendered the runaway in vp steph of the finals a distant second in just a couple of hours time half out you're a distant second really that's how dominant he was but what shocks me about kevin durant is even ahead of last year's finals game three he'd had some shaky playoff games i know his oklahoma city finals and playoffs by heart trust me he had shaky stretches for oakland the year that russ was out they played memphis which is k d is the man go look at those games really shaky came up very small and they lost a memphis and it was easy we'll wait a minute maybe russes the guy maybe he's the alpha maybe he's the number one and i got a hardback because you were all over kevin durant as you should've been against the rockets because at the end of game four was that not a disaster when kevin durant dribble the ball to floor should i should i take a shot no i think i'll pass it to klay thompson who's gimpy already running down the baseline away from the basket and corner and what shots he got what are you going to do with that and kevin you just just rise up and shoot a 20footer shot up what would they say it was thirty foot or less always province thirty thirty three yeah yeah he yeah he was so disaster at the in game four against houston then game five and six really shaky because you correctly pointed out he's running from the ball at the end of those games he does not want to touch the basketball this is the same guy who did that last night.

"Gordon state you didn't have to worry about that steph not playing well clay not playing with kevin durant own the world's biggest age kevin durant show why he's the basketball player that is second best in the world and he doesn't have to play backseat to steph curry you didn't have played backseat draymond green in his role within this organization it fits his skillset so not only can he be that good offensively but his ability to make plays for his other teammates he's got a high basketball iq the totality of it was just too much for the cavs and it's not it's not as if we didn't know this but now that we've seen that these are the pitchers and kevin durant was a huge part in yesterday so i thought that he was going to be a big part to what they were going to do in game number three proved to be true i thought he would be have more significant performance than steph curry and he led the way jenna you you said in the great open that you know what a difference twenty four hours makes what a difference two and a half hours makes because in the pre game show right before tip off jeff van gundy referred to steph curry as the warriors best player said this is the type of thing you need from your best player and that will probably be the last time steph curry gets called that as long as kevin durant on this basketball team because kevin durant yesterday guy who could stop playing basketball today and be one of the twenty five greatest players in the history of this great game we'll probably finish in the top fifteen maybe higher had the greatest game of his career last night let's not get it twisted what it was it was his playoff career high it was a game where his other mvp the reason the warriors are so unfair is because it's katy and steph steph was having one of the worst games of his career yes certainly his worst finals game and he's at a few rough finals games over his four year final run and kate.

"And the level of energy and defense that teams play that being football are being in basketball i never expect an exceptional performance late in the year and in championship the reason why there's too much pressure the reason why the defense in the tension to detail specially when you get into a series it's hard to get all those open loops when this game five they've seen you four times in the last week we can have so i never have those high expectations four guys in a championship level i've spent this to be a struggle and i told nick this before basketball now during not said something basketball's not a game you can play mad now dream on cam because he didn't have to shoot the ball to rebound to stream the do all the grunt work and you can play mad you can be pissed but kevin durant pissed it's not in them clay injured is not in a steph i mean even if he is bisther matt what's he going to do like they're not that type of physical team so i'm gonna watch draymond i'm just gonna watch the emotion and see how he tries to channel it to these other guys who aren't mad are our guys who play with that type of chip and jinnah if one of those guys you listed question will miss his the game in agee or clay and once again with just one day off between games all these guys gotta play forty plus minutes after traveling from the beta houston that's something golden state has not had to deal with that something this racial golden has no experience with two games in three days where you're starters are all playing forty plus minutes they're not used to that it was a small thing but in watching the video that you had broke down as far as kevin durant last sequence of plays another thing that's a real thing i want to watch tonight this game if these guys are injured whoever's on the court we do realize that whoever's owned the court has not played significant minutes with the stars with kevin durant with with steph steph and.

"In the series after two games steph is eleven for sixteen at the rim which is good for any point art basically it is just too for twelve from the three point line in the question i have is a steph need to become the warriors needs stuff to become a threat from the beyond the three point line to unlock the rest of what the warriors to be on offense greg i think uses chasing them off the off to three point line and i think steph curry is always taken what the defense gives him i think steph curry is a little more accustomed to having the defense collapse and he him being having that pachulia to find the shooter's around him on the floor and i think houston and this is something we talked about in this series preview we said that he's going to have to chase golden state off the line off the three point line and live with the consequences i think they're doing that with steph steph is getting has points at the rim but i'll eleven sixteen to two games is not you know fatal by any stretch of the magic nation so i think it's pretty simple think you came in and said we're chases stuff off the line even if he scores at the rim and i think is physically more difficult to score them around that it is the three point line even for a guy who's dealing with you know the kind of the nagging injuries steph has or trying to come back from the injury steph it's coming back from i think it's easier for him to stand on the three point line and take those shots senate is for him to work as way through the traffic trying to get to the rim doa physicality those those are hard landings when you go scored the room so i just i think uses chasing him out the ram and living with the consequences and he's getting free lives so they're scoring over the fenders of the rim and it's it's been pretty impressive kind of play by play by play but i think to kind of build upon the point greg me kicking you name i think as part of the overall gay planning on how to dila stuff we're going to make them work through screens on defense we're going to tack him individually as that as a defender we're going to make him.

"Steph show it's like kevin durant i think he's never gonna get but he knew that but i don't think he knew it in the beginning of his career like i think like what i just not in terms of say but like just as whole career like with the trading and the cupcake and now a gold like he's obviously a better player than dream on but then they'll go dream onto the glue to that team steph steph is is the mvp he's he's the glory boy and i loved these are all my guys but then like kevin durant doing his thing it's so below the radar but that's the world we live in it's what have you done for me lately and if you don't up what you've done than people are not in like do you remember when they were comparing steph like it's one i don't know who's number one in basketball stuff for lebron do we remember having this debate years ago now i love step step is a fantastic player transcended the game now my nephews out here shooting thirty footers like thank you stuff i appreciate it but you did that like the world has never seen anything like steph curry but what's so relatable about him why the world's loves him so much is he's a normal dude like he doesn't is normal size he looks like he has a baby face like he won't kill you but then he'll drop forty four on you and harby and golden state i'm telling you without him there were big gaps of like holes offensively festively the tempo absolutely changes the stuff that kevin gates not saying that he wouldn't get it it would just be tougher as a result of steph because steph is guarded or certain way the tempo changes they have to respect certain things he stuff makes the team go kevin is top two in the world to top player in the world.

"D's match up nightmare for the rockets not just stephen a because you're gonna put on them to defend them but on the other end they don't really have a player to match what he does authencity so i understand a match up nightmare that's going to be true regardless but i think the most important like the key to the warriors beating the rock it's because you know i'm taking the rockets but this is a tough close match up in my view like either team is capable of beating the other it depends on how well each plays like who's going to be the best version of themselves and in order for that to happen for the warriors it's got to be steph steph has got to be the best version of himself not a diminished version and i've seen steph in the past who's who's a marvellous player who has revolutionized basketball really he's beyond steve nash two point oh he's spreads the floor on like no one has ever spread the floor given it's ball handling ability and three point shot ability emphasis in making once he gets to the pain he is the engine that makes that team go and he has got to be the best version of himself to beat the rockets team who by the way he wasn't the best version of himself a couple of times in the finals you know even in that first warriors championship where they beat lebron when lebron didn't have his supporting cast healthy kyri and kevin love that wasn't the best version of steph curry it was a good version you know he figured it out eventually got rid of the bowl anticipated things but it wasn't like wow that was steph as good as we've seen them and that was the same case when the when the tabs beat them it was not the best version of steph curry and the reason i think that's significant here is because everyone knows this is the real championship warriors rockets is the actual finals he's got to be the best version of himself for the warriors to be the best version of themselves to beat a team that's beating them two out of three games in the regular season and the only team the game they lost with went harden was heard so really fully loaded the only beaten to it all on the warriors.
