"All the time so was talking with a state insurance commissioner recently and we were talking about how auto insurers now no longer generally set rates based on your age male or female and your driving record and a lot of them in states where it's legal use your credit score is that your rates I've talked about that over the years but now insurers are customizing individual rates to individual people so this was something the insurance commissioner said there's just driving he and his staff crazy there people were having individualize rates but a lot of insurers now are drilling down where you could be quoted a completely different rate then let's say five hundred other people who live near you who are similar age similar driving history every one of you would be quoted a different rate why because insurers are buying data on you in the market place that tells them what kind of person you are in ways that let them know how much they can charge you okay so one thing that came out years ago and I shared with you has become much more refined but insurers are using data like how loyal you are to a particular company like let's say you stayed with the same cellular company for years and years and years of market that's wide open the you could switch repeatedly or various services you use products you buy are you brand loyal they know that you somebody buys generics you somebody buys brand names so the more you show a pattern being brand conscious and the more you show that you're a loyal to a particular company or brand they believe they can charge you far higher rates for your auto insurance I'm oversimplifying this but these are just some of the factors they're using to determine what they're gonna charge you yeah the thing is about this deep dive data that more and more auto insurers are using is that the data they crunch and how they value it and how they use it to set rates is different.

"One all engine on the. Welcome. It is you're a curate's in here. News ninety five five AM seven fifty WSB and Atlanta's evening news. The headlines keep rolling in the state insurance Commissioner Jim Beck is stepping aside. This actually he he's expediting a process that would otherwise take at least twenty eight days to have happen. What does this mean will the governor has suspended the insurance Commissioner the insurance Commissioner cannot self suspend, but under Georgia law after fourteen days following an indictment of a statewide official the governor under the constitution, the governor can convene a panel that will look at the charges, the, the indictment is based upon and decide if they relate to that person's job. And if they do the panel can tell the governor suspend the person in, in put someone new in. Well, Jim Beck reached out to the governor. And said that you can go on and suspend. I'd like to voluntarily suspend expedite this process. Get it underway even though I'm not guilty. It's going to take time to prepare the defense, and I'm not going to be able to do the job and. According to Beck in his letter pursued to the constitution of this voluntary suspension, shell terminate upon my reinstatement to office following my quibble of these charges. So the governor. As issued an executive order. Whereas Jim Beck was indicted on may fourteenth multiple felony counts. Whereas Mr. transmitted, a letter requesting to be suspended now, therefore pursuant, to the thorny, vista me is governor Jim Beck is immediately suspended from the office of Commissioner of insurance pursuant to my thority and article two section three paragraph. One of the Georgia constitution. So Beck is now out. But. There's a problem, not really a problem. I guess if you're Jim, beg tax payers, may not like this, according to the sea, he even though suspended he will still legally be entitled to his salary. Now. Why is that because he is still technically the insurance Commissioner mcchord into the JC while suspended Beck will continue to draw one hundred twenty thousand dollar a year. Commissioner salary. Now Bob Trammell, the house minority leader saying that Jim Beck needs to resign. The governor as well saying Jim Beck needs to resign. The judge involved Russell vineyard said that bet cannot have any dealings with the Georgia underwriters association and as insurance Commissioner. He's got regulatory regulatory authority over the association. So he's got to he can't do. He can't have anything to do with this. We had to step aside that the governor, though, the house, minority leader other Republicans, as well, Scott Johnson, who is running for chairman of the state Republican party. They're all coming out, saying, you need to resign, not just step aside Beck has no intention of resigning, though. He's insisting upon his innocent, so he will step aside. Be suspended still collect a salary the deputy insurance Commissioner. We'll step forward and handle the role who is the deputy insurance Commissioner. Well. That gives us a leads us into another story that is developing as we head toward the Republicans going to fan. I'll give you those details. Okay. I this is become the it is becoming an issue as the majority party in the state has its convention. It finds itself where it did not want to be it has reduced majority in the house in the Georgia house. A reduced majority in the Georgia Senate, the governor's race was closer than they would have liked. You have a twenty twenty Senate race where the Republicans are blessed by having a lack of strong challenges, right now to David Purdue. And you now have this David Roulston situation and you have a gym the gym Beck situation. Likewise, there was a racial discrimination suit that the GOP had to deal with internally at the state party. So you got all these things coming on. And well now you've got. Johnson, who is running for chairman. He is the former Cobb County Republican chairman, and he's going after David Shafer his opponent, Schaefer, was the, in the state Senate ran for Lieutenant governor against Jeff Duncan lost. Jeff Dunkin has come out very strongly for Scott Johnson. And he put out on his Facebook page. David Shaffer, Jim have been intertwined for decades, both business government agencies. This includes the fact that David Shafer sits on the board that approved all of Jim Beck's alleged criminal invoices at the Georgia underwriting association is a business executive, I find it nearly impossible. The two million dollars could be paid out for services that were largely never rendered and someone not notice, whether it was neglect, or compliance, either way Schafer failed by allowing Becca continuous scheme. Right, under his nose. Someone. Someone not notice, guess typo, whether it was negligence or compliance either way shape or failed. This, of course now turning into an issue as the Republicans try to pick their chair now on top of that the deputy insurance Commissioner who will act in Jim beckstead is tied to Schaefer, Schaffer and Beck. Do have connections. Now, I've talked to a number Republicans who are headed to savannah, all of whom in by shavers a friend. I would be voting for Schafer. I went to savannah. And there a number of people, I've talked to who they initially thought that Johnson may be overplayed. His hand by going after Schaefer Schaefer is a lot of goodwill built up among grass roots. But Schafer's been rather quiet on this issue as they had to savannah. This is going to play on the floor there. My question is this. Johnson is willing to come out and say Belk nieces step aside and Schaefer, shouldn't be chair, because he failed to do this will either Schaffer or Johnson make David Rolston in issue. Are they going to focus on each other and the guy who's been purple? Or are they going to deal with the speaker of the house of representatives who either one show leadership on this issue? It's very, very easy. When you've got a, a statewide elected official who's been perp walked in indicted, by a federal grand jury to say, oh, yeah. That guy. He's bad. And oh my opponent is tied into that guy. And it's it's easy for Schaefer to push back and say, look, we didn't know the US attorney says that we're victims ear. He was able to do this. There was no way for us to find this a he was he did this to friends. He did this to close family acquaintances he did this to us. We're victims here too. I can't be blamed, and it's fair, we'll either of them though. Stand up and actually take ownership of the issue that's actually going to hurt the Republicans in twenty twenty because Jim Beck's not going to hurt the Republicans in twenty twenty. I mean he was there for what a year and, and stepped aside self suspended. If you will, you got them all on record. Now, the governor on down saying he needs to resign, not just self suspend kind of like self deportation. I guess what about the David Ralston situation where our state leaders willing to publicly take stand? We've got ten members of the house of representatives will take a stand on this. What about the rest of them? What about the heart? Would see the Beck would is easy. The Beck ones and easy issue because there's an indictment, the speakers the heart issue and it's a real sign of character or lack thereof that we got a bunch of people in the state, who know privately. This is a real problem edited at twenty twenty but publicly, they don't want to stick their neck out and take a stand someone needs to take a stand. And maybe it should start with one of these Republican chairman, one of them should take a stand. One of them should stand up and say, if we're headed into twenty twenty with David Rolston we got problems, but none of them seem to want to do it. Four zero four eight seven zero seven five zero one eight hundred WSB talk lots of stories out about President Trump wanting to go to war with Iran. The president says it's not true. I'll tell you what. I know when we come back, I've been quip user for a long time, saw an ad on Instagram for quip decided I'd give them a try and I love them, and I want to take time out from the show to tell you about quit. "They surprisingly voted it down because Democrats that had supported it ended up flipping against it, but it was a pretty mixed vote. There were sixty votes to kill it. Thirty four came from publicans twice, fifteen for Democrats. But then it was held on a on a motion to reconsider which means that it came back up for another vote today. And and just just a few minutes before we started talking, they were able to flip several though and get passed by margin of three votes. But then we believe that that might have been held on motion. That's that's where I'm just gonna say that. The story continues, but it does look like. And so the governor who was really pushing for this complex enough votes to pass a lottery. And so we, we should be the forty six state in the country. Now. "Williams that night feedback kelly victor the top of the hour what's he talking about he's going to get her take on the revised edition the healthcare bill because i read of you know i'd be all the pages edges read that it's more money for less coverage but i don't want to people i don't like the fact that they are taking quote unquote free market decisions to mean giving him to the state insurance commissioner because that guy is a ding gone i rather have doctor conrad murray in charge my health walton dave jones up in sacramento hot sense sometime i tweeted out something last night that it was a canadian doctor that follows been i'm following about she said this is the way healthcare said look and it was a three hundred and eighty thousand dollar bill probably the person that cancer and did a lot of treatments when they checked out the hospital the balance was four hundred dollars i was like that's what i remember but i said no one's going to believe that are going to say you know but ever and then when i suppose to the people like i want to pay for other people and i understand that there's no free lunch but there is in canada had everybody pain i don't i dollar imply people pay for it they just pay for it and taxes that's right i mean i would paid extra my taxes everybody given canada paid a little bit extra so the less fortunate were taking care of for me it's just humanity i would you a here i about i get it and they don't believe in that obama tried half as that he didn't do it the full european or canadian way and i republican so they believe in their money is their money i know i i get that but i'm i'm to fan i i would i like the system i grew up and i feel bad for people that can afford or that you're going to have there's taken away i've had friends and family in england and then friends in canada tell me for years and years and years how great their healthcare system as an how we should be more like that and how wonderful than experience it is never they have to go.
