Chicago Bulls Add Free Agents Stanley Johnson and Alize Johnson to Roster

"Signed a couple of players Elise Johnson and Stanley Johnson. So I ask you if you look at the front court depth now for this Bulls team Alice Johnson, Stanley Johnson, Nicola Vucevic's Marko Simonovic and Tony Bradley shot or no shot. There should be real concerns about the Bulls front court heading into this upcoming season. I would say, absolute shot. But what I will say, is, despite the fact that the front court is a little lacking the truth is that what the Bulls for an office has done in this offseason rebuilding the entire roster for the most part, and I'll add Brian, just the fact that they were able to get something for Lowey Lowry marketing much less a first round pick, I'll be it lottery protected. To pull that off was something and they are restoring my faith in that office that has been missing for a long, long time. And, of course, speaking of the Bulls for an office in general Yeah, one thing about this front

The History of Experimental Research in Psychology

"Psychology has been an important topic of study for centuries the ancient greeks and egyptians had their schools of thought on it as did the people in ancient india and china. it wasn't until the nineteenth century. Though when psychological research turned from the philosophical to the experimental german psychologist gustave thickener started testing human brains response to various stimuli around the eighteen thirties from their experts. Such as herman ebbing house went on to study other functions of the mind from memory to introspection to classical conditioning psychology became a bustling industry of experimentation. Eventually scientists didn't just want to learn the limits of the brain. They wanted to understand what made people tick. Why were some individuals able to say no while others were more closers. Stanley milgram of yale university tested this in his famous milgram experiment in nineteen sixty one. He invited participants to administer electric shocks to someone in another room. As the shocks increased in power the screams of the unknown party got louder and more intense until they stopped completely. But don't worry nobody died. The electric shocks weren't even real but the effects on the subjects pushing the buttons certainly were milgram wanted to test how far a person would go in following orders from an authority figure even if those orders involved hurting or even killing someone else. He based his experiment. On the actions of the nazis during world war two the stanford prison experiment of nineteen seventy-one took things further by placing college students in a simulated prison environment. The purpose was to study. How power affected one psychological states one group of students was given the title of guard while another subset was placed in the prisoner role. Three guards were pulled out of the experiment early after demonstrating what were described as genuine sadistic tendencies. The prisoners also suffered they were referred to by numbers rather than their names. They were stripped naked and sprayed with a hose in shorts. They were humiliated the two week experiment was terminated. After just six

"Afghanistan. Throughout the past 20 years, thousands of Indiana men and women have been deployed their news eight Stanley Johnson talked to two men who served they explain why what's happening now It's hard to watch the sights and sounds of a struggling country. It could be argued. They're going to be worse off now than they were before we got there. 2021. This is America. That's not what we stand for more than just the latest headlines for staff Sergeant Brian Alvey and Sergeant first class Joshua Workman. I can sit down and rationally make out a list of all the reasons why we should To win which we should have went, Um they attacked us. And I can list out all the things that we did good, but you put it all together and you sit down and you watch what just happened, and it's really hard to convince yourself. That this was not All for not what was the point you know, Calvi's first tour in Afghanistan was in 2004. But over the years he spent more time there. He got to know the people and to this day has kept in touch with them until recently. It's hard. I mean, you work with these people for months on end, no different than the people I shared with in uniform or you. You work with at your place of employment. You develop a relationship with these people are just want good things for their family. No different than people over here. No different than us. They're just in a different Place on the planet. It's something he says. You can only understand if you were there a sentiment felt by workmen who served two tours in Afghanistan, from 2003 to 2004 and again from 2010 to 2011. I would like people to not believe what you're hearing in regards to Afghan Soldiers are cowards and not willing to fight. I I stood next to them, but we were. "So joe you recently wrote a story about carolina. Panthers defensive end brian burns and his older brother stanley mclovin and how they ended up helping each other in an unlikely way. And we actually want to start the story with stanley. So let's rewind to two thousand six. What kind of player was stanley when he was coming out of college and how did his. Nfl career go early on. He was a pretty good player. He is a good size guide. Defensive lineman from auburn comes to the right side. that's goodell pressure. That's fair is last season. at auburn. He had eight sex and he enters the nfl draft and ho six when the last round to the panthers and he was joining a team. That had a very stout defensive line group led by peppers and it just wasn't much playing time opportunity for a seventh round pick white mclovin and so pretty under the radar type player with the exception of off the field where he lived and spent money as though he were a first round pick. He told me that he bought range rover and he had a hummer at one point. He bought a brand new house. I did a lot of things i wasn't. I wasn't educated about if i had educational a lot during that time. I'm like we're not talking about it. I got a million dollar bonus or anything like that. I mean it was seventh-round money by stanley. Kinda got caught up in lifestyle. He's the first to admit that and he was living the life and it was just one of those day where you see the money. And so i'm curious just a little bit about what were those first practices like. What were you practicing. I love this question. So one of the books that i was given by my friend and doni anatazio. Who was the one who gave me all these books. When i had that spontaneous meditation moment was a book on a tantric. Meditation by harish johari and so this is before the time of having any kind of audio so basically you would read the practice and then you would just do the practice based on what you remembered from reading and so i remember doing this practice. I was sitting in my apartment. I was living in south africa at the time. And i was doing this this practice. And you know. In retrospect it was a chucker meditation. But i did not know that until later and i had no idea what a chocolate was. Even though it was explained in the book it was like Way over my head. And so i did this meditation focusing on different parts of my body. Which were the talk rose and visualizing different colors and i believe that there may have even been like Shapes or geometrical shapes that were being visualized. And i did this meditation. And at the end of the meditation towards the end of the meditation this vibrant rainbow of colors and magic. It was like this mystical experience. I was like wow. This is what meditation is you know. Remembering Climate Change, a Message From the Year 2071

"Twenty two thousand. As we're a crux in human history they began with the first pandemic a slap to the face of everyone as they had to acknowledge that they were a single civilization on a single biosphere utterly dependent on science to keep them alive. Civilization is a fragile thing and although people started the twenties hoping to ignore that profound truth even after the first pandemic the great heat waves of twenty twenty three torched any such hope humans cannot survive combinations of high heat and high humidity that rise above an index temperature called wet bulb thirty five and that year the wet bulb thirty six events in india in southeast asia and in the american midwest killed so many more people than the first pandemic that it was made clear to everyone things simply had to change the arrival of the second pandemic put an exclamation mark on all that the question that desperate point was could things change could humanity stop it's destructive ways and restore balance to its relationship to its biosphere crucially. Could it lower the global average temperature of the earth in time to avoid killing millions more people more animals and indeed entire species looking back from our perspective sixty years later this of course looks possible because they did but it was by no means a sure thing you have to imagine what it felt like at the time when panic filled the air and no one could be sure. Success was even physically possible many declared that humanity was doomed. This is why that decade gets called the turbulent twenties or the terrifying twenties only much later did some historians began to call it the terrific twenties or even the roaring twenties although that's a historians joke and as usual a bad one it was not at all like the roaring twenties of a century before it was much stranger than that in these critical years lessons learned in the first pandemic put to use. The scientific community had rallied to meet that crisis in an unprecedented way. Unleashing a burst of cooperation and creativity never seen before and now they did it again.

Coyotes Have Taken Over Stanley Park.

"I'm jordan heathrow. This is the big story. Dr colleen cassidy. Saint clair is a professor of biological sciences. At the university of alberta she specializes in the study of how animals including peyote behave in landscapes that have been altered by humans. Hello colleen hi jordan. Thanks for having me no problem. I'm glad you could spare the time. Why don't you start by telling us what's happening right now. In stanley park in vancouver. But also i understand. It's not just in stanley park. Sure well what i know of stanley part comes to me from the news so similar to what other people know. There's an unprecedented situation going on there. Where there is spend thirty Documented attacks on people by coyotes. We're coyotes have bitten people in the past six and a half months. That's extremely unusual. I have never heard of something. Like that. Happening anywhere in north america previously. But nor have. I heard about the situation. That's occurring in calgary in the last month and calgary eight. People have also been bitten by coyotes. Eight different people so you mentioned that. This is incredibly unusual. How do coyotes normally behave in spaces that they share with humans well normal has been a sliding slope for many years decades really over about the past twenty years sir spin increasing reports from across north america of coyotes in urban areas probably coyotes always danced around urban areas and were seen there occasionally by people. There's a at edmonton. That was known as coyote alley a hundred years ago so it's not entirely new. That coyotes are in urban areas. But they just seem to be more. Abundant and boulder and that's occurring in urban areas across the continent from vancouver to halifax from phoenix. T. l. o. Knife pretty much. Every urban area in north america. That i've heard of anyway has a population of urban coyotes. And that's a fairly new phenomenon.

"Outright news don't want to get that away from me and they don't even wanna talk about it and it's one of the most if not the most obvious like ethical questions for the united states to face. It's like we all benefit from this incredibly wealthy country that was built on the backs of slaves and the misery of black americans for generations. Can we do something to make them whole. Hello it's like absolutely and eighty five percent are just like i don't wanna hear about it like you know that Kind of ties into what i had written here for for my take on this So ten years ago. I was eighteen and a tea party republican. I'm very proud of that fact I'm not going to identify current political affiliation but That's what i used to be The discourse on that side of the aisle from what i can see hasn't changed since then They painted as just a handout from the government to supposedly people who are both lazy and have multiple jobs. That don't pay enough like i don't. I don't fully understand the picture they're trying to paint. It's more of a picture of a straw man than anything but really what it is is. It's the equalizer that we need to To kind of our society heal from Centuries now of of turmoil Around Just how to get along or don't get along in this country and the reason the reason for it and ultimately it all ties back chattel slavery So if i can just read a couple Statistics here from this site. It's from the brookings institute. Um it's a nonprofit educational institute we're going to have the lincoln down in the description But yeah the the black white wealth gap The net worth. I believe i between Black and white families is six point. Seven times greater Let's the average. Net wealth of a white family is nine hundred. Twenty nine thousand eight hundred dollars and average black family. Wealth is one hundred thirty eight thousand one hundred dollars. I mean that is such a stark difference and that that's hard assets that's assets okay. We're we're not even talking about liquid some of the some of the other statistics that come out is that black. Americans only had only hold two point six percent of the wealthiest nation while white american. Hold about ninety percent of the wealth in this nation annual blocked folks makeup. What is it thirteen. Percent of the popular has we thirteen percent of the population behold less than three percent of the well. But we don't even hold the wealth as a compensatory to population and we can definitely correlate a lot of these particular issues when it comes to lack of well and and even another thing like you know Which is also fallacious argument to say that all all this needs to get scholarships and go to school but when you look at again if we look at statistics when it comes to that that A black the black medium household with a bachelors degree is roughly about seventy thousand dollars. A year the medium household income for a white stanley high school diploma is about eighty five thousand dollars a year so even if you are going into further education you know extending your mind. "Bye, Cobi Jones into the lane. But it's Snared by a Creighton basketball players now across the timeline, the low post a bishop, those upper left him jump hook, and he's found on the play over Stanley, and that's just power basketball right there. Bishops really good at that. He shoots 74% from the field. That's number one in the Big East, and he's three for seven in this one. He got the ball Joe when he makes that power dribble to the left. And he gets you right in front of the basket. You're gonna finish. He's gonna finish every time there's a technical foul called on the crate in Blue Jays gonna call it on on Bishop. It was probably Wolf in Ft. Made after he made a bucket. So that'll send Johnson the line to shoot two has just made his first exit. 53 47 2nd free throw from Johnson on the way front of the rim backboard for the front of the rim again through the strings calendar. Savior of trails 53 48. They just showed a bishop was after he made a bucket and kind of flexed and was screaming and Ben Stanley's face. Just want him to just shut up and play man. Should always gotta tell you about it, and the fishes got on for the left hander fires. His free throw completes his three point play, and Xavier trails 54 to 48. Exactly nine minutes to go, is And he brings it across the timeline gives it up to Stanley High on the left point. Now, Johnson has it working on the right side of the floor for free mental back to the left side of the Florida Jones Fremantle cuts to the bucket gets a return pass from Cobi Jones tries to Duncan, but he's found heavily. Ballack and that'll send free men on the line to shoot, too. That was a nice Handoff on the look like a pick and roll and sort of a fake, picked by Freeman or what you say. Then he just released and went to the hoop in a nice pass from the freshman. He slipped us the ball, screen said instead of sending, and he just kind of slipped to the basket, there was a good pass. Show that play he's been they blocked that shot multiple times in the game. Exactly man who misses the first free throw, but that time Zach protected the ball when he received it and attack when he was attacking the basket. Second free throw all the way. It is good free man who now has seven points of the ball game for the musketeer. Xavier trails by 5 54 to 49 with 8 43 to go. Cheers back in the man to man defense bollocks with a top of the key to Jefferson. We'll give it the Mitchell. He drives the lane is he turns the corner and a finger roll. That question is, Will it count? It did go through the strings. There was a foul at the free throw on it was on the floor. Great. We'll take the ball out of bounds underneath Xavier's basket That will be the fourth team found the Musketeers. This half great also has been called before possession Arrow, by the way, favors the Musketeers break him down the basketball on the right baseline. After the right wing. Now it's taking to the point by Mitchell, keeping the dribble lives now, like with those it along the left sideline to Jefferson, about the ballot tries to drive turned back by freshman Jones out toe tag around ski. He turned the corner kicks it to the right side wide open. Three is on the way. It's off the iron and the rebounds taken by Kiki Tandy. That shot was put up Jefferson for the Great Blue Jays. Candy brings it across the timeline, turns his back to his defender. Now over to Stanley, He drives hard on this man throws up a jump hook shot over, Bishop. My goodness, That was a nice looking shot, Joe. He's left handed. Been Stanley. He's grated drive into the bucket. With that, left and like making contested shots over extended hand savior has pulled within three, trailing 54. 51 freemantle was He just called for a technical on a belief, so no, he was just called forever. "The arm but was able to finish through contact. Make a tough jump shot free throws on the way it is good actually rose up in the air. Look to me like he was gonna look past it. But once he was found that he went back into the shooting boat was able to flip that risk and scorn about what a 16 footer I guess so they complete the three point play the conventional way. His second round. Xavier leads 50 to 46. Save your back. If he was alone, it looks to be a 1 to 2 this time Now it's for money Was 23 we have standing in Concord, the top of that 23 zone, working on the right side of the floors, McEwan and with the high post to Lewis and a cutter, Garcia catches it in ways it up it in with his left hand. Garcia moves well without the ball. 50 to 48 2 Point lead for the Musketeers. CIA has 15 points the ballgame now for Marquette, you're working against a man to man defense drugs at the high point drives left top of the key hesitate spins into the lane fades away in a 10 footer, and he's got it. It was devastating right there. 20 points. 40 points for Paul Scruggs. Now's a good leads 52 to 48 say you're back in his own again, violent, excited before acumen with the basketball. The Garcia step beyond the three point line tosses it left sideline. We have a whistle and a foul. That may be on Zach. Free Male Garcia was cutting through the lane. A free man will probably push him out of the lane with an elbow. That's the second foul of the ball game on Freeman. Yellow Garcia's garnering a lot of attention, Joe Is he? As you? Said 6, 11 he He's got a lot of fluidity to his game, and it's just very Got a lot of agility, speed. Xavier and Amanda Man defense on the out of bounds play, Torrance drives it into the lane leans close up a bank shot and scores and fouled on the play. Horses. A 6 Ft. 3 £205 Soft four, which is four points in three rebounds A ballgame. Looks like he's much more scored four points He's averaging on that plate. It Yeah, Joe, He leaned in big time on Kiki 10. Kiki did a good job keeping his hands up. Torrance just kind of threw his body into him and Initiated all the contact free throws on the way a line drive shot nothing but death. Plates. A three point play Xavier leads by 1 52 51 Cobi Jones of the Ballgame out 13 34 to go Been Stanley back in the game preserve in family, hands it off the Kunkle savior, running the weave on the perimeter. Cobi Jones with high The left point uses the screen from Griffin to take it to the right side of the floor to dribble up diagonal pass to Concho catches in shooting off the iron, no good rebound tapped towards the free throw line. But we have a whistle and a foul on Cobi Jones, and I believe that will be his third. We'll be going for the offense of rebound harder, richer reach around the Torrence had the inside position. Did you like the energy? Xavier's got death. You need to come in play as hard as you can go and play with a lot of energy and then Gotta be his productive as you can You get tired? Go out, Someone else will come in 13 05 to go Xavier leading 52 51 market working against the 23 zone to drive down the right side of the lane by McEwen under the bucket, Reverse layup hanging around the rim pouncing, and it's good for to put Marquette on top fine. 1 53 52 different with basketball gives it up to Stanley High on the left point. Tandy Candy with the dribble, pulls up for 17 footer and laser like puts it through for two Xavier back on top 54 53 boy. He has some bounce off the dribble. When he shoots, he does show he just explodes off the floor. With a lot of quickness that you want a man to man defense, backdoor cut and the past is dropped. And now Xavier drops the Rebound. You have to wonder if we don't need the box there. There was a beautiful backdoor play by market. It just went right through the hands of Cain. Look at you drafted for no reason. And then the rebound was gathered in by the Musketeers. Colby Jones, and he dropped the ball squirted out of bounds and might just been in a serious of unfortunate events. But at the same time you want to start mopping the floor drying off the ball they had. They called somebody over. He is my gone over and gotten white dried up the floor, but right it almost one point Josh thought we're back in the hold us in the garden Day air the place out Whenever that lot of condensation that ice underneath the record, it was always really cold. Occasionally you had done. He's falling all over the place. Now. The officials are going to take a break here. They're sending both teams to their bench. They started to confer to top of the key. They had two officials involved in all three of them got together. They're gonna go back over and review the modern. I'm not quite sure what they're looking for. Baron, If you have an idea, let me know. Well, looks like one of the officials was pointing to his watch. I don't know. Maybe they're trying. Maybe there was too much time and ran off the clock when the ball bounced out of bounds of what That makes a pretty good sense. I think we're gonna take a break is they call a time out? Both teams start the huddle up. The coaches get together and discuss strategy and 12 25 to go here at Centimes Center in the second half the Musketeers with a one point lead over the Marquette Golden Eagles..

"Is seven oh seven here on the P. C. O. day radio program. well this story took a very depressing turn on Friday and Daddy is a story we brought you last week dealing with. a whole bunch of folks specifically in the Stanley county schools. in this case also the N. C. H. S. eight AD. North Carolina high school athletics association and their commissioner Q. Tucker. who I'm sure probably since she was so busy last week fielding phone calls was only able to get back to us on our request for an interview. what they're at over the weekend so what time is she on this morning I forgot to ask. it doesn't go back to see it. you're still in for apply huh. that's weird because we sent multiple requests right ten of them yeah and we have that special hotline New York although they have put in you so put that that thing is still working the garbage you well let's try it let me you know what that's fair let's test the garbage human hotline. if you call this week with someone it's a called in on it. wow. saying be called in accidentally so I mean if big foot can accidentally Colin I'm sure it'll be easy for them to call it that would be zero email them and give them the number we just wanted to now we just want to know how a group of cheerleaders to pose for a photo there on the track Colina maggots sighing. somehow requires the North Carolina high school athletic association to put him on probation when arguably there have been a lot of many an identifiable incident. which would have been under their purview as well where promotion for previous president wasn't handled in the same way again just so we're all abundantly clear how this works. all that I ask is consistency. so the kids can banner up and do all that and and that's the policy then great. and for all of you hacks out there going wow it was the school district that's why it's different really they're not being punished by the district. cell. that doesn't hold water. and if nobody is allowed to do it. then any time it happens and you need to go ahead and and put people on probation just pick one I don't care which one it is I just get really really really upset whether it's this or any other could in any other capacity were there rules regulations or laws that are not applied equally and frankly I would think there should be a non by but this should be a bipartisan issue. or a non partisan issue for that matter because it's just about the way in which we treat others around us and the the social contract under which we live. and if people feel that is being gamed from political ideology standpoint that won't stand and it will upset people and they would get so upset the day would drive to watch a football game with a flag on their truck or as it was now described in this new story created potential for a dangerous situation so much so. that they had to cancel the game. that's right no football game happened in North Stanley high school the sheriff in school leaders say they were wary of a planned protest. of people with flags. and and the protester was less protest and more Hey let's all show up with flags. and I don't know if you know this generally people within your own community showing up with flags. are not a danger to you. what you want to look for you look for people showing up with flags. and wearing masks those that's that's that's a problem potentially. so it almost feels like I don't believe you or I feel that you aired on this site because what you now done is they have remove the opportunity for rebuttal from their own community members. now if somebody if she if somebody was going to show up and they were going to go ahead and and you know start one of those classic downtown Portland answer five V. proud boys style fight said to be fine but. what is shown up with flags are not your problem especially when they're identifying themselves on the social media sign up on Facebook. you know who they are..

"Twenty twenty sign at Friday night football. last in what Stanley high school last Friday night should they suffer a consequence of that action I say no and I don't care what it was by design Elizabeth Warren sign or Donald Trump side in the meantime let's see so I'd like to hear from you those of you who. perhaps a trump supporters is it appropriate those of you who don't like Donald Trump. even though you don't like Donald Trump do you think these high school students should be punished for doing that for for breaking out a trump twenty twenty signed. that's the question that's one of the questions go to Charlie enable Charlie first this hour a night side welcome was second this hour actually Charlie already had where do you want me to sign we really want Charlie okay let me say I want my take I know Marvin Minsky very very well this is a journalist I interviewed him several times I would do exactly what that Tessa deter them I take this man was your role within the earth we lived in a world of science and computers and particularly since. he had sent all the sub he's the he's now passed so we can't defend himself but he apparently had sex with the seventeen and I knew the man okay so I can't I can't imagine that he would ever have any sexual. relations with the trial this that's the only way Charlie Charlie I think that is a the fact that he. his a relationship where we were when deciding I'm I'm siding these the story in The Boston Globe today yeah actually be that be in the paper tomorrow paper well okay if you want to go if you want to if you want to tell me that you don't think that this guy had sex with a seventeen year old then there's nothing to talk about because at that point right what he's that is what he was that is what got this other professor in trouble the other professor is defending him. as you know what I'm saying is not dependent as well I will be darned from them argue over to tonight okay well fair enough I hope you realize that professor Minsky passed away in two thousand sixteen. can't defend themselves I'm defending us that's fine let me ask you this would you defend them if the facts of the case showed that he had engaged in sexual activities with that under age woman. under not probably not on that portion what I don't believe you do you do it I would suggest you get a chance tomorrow morning I'm assuming this this was posted a late today well this this morning so I'm not going to be for the good of tell me about the cheerleaders here Charlie they they on. you know I've only known a marijuana cheerleaders and I only know one was a smart woman. I have a bias against the mall you know I. based on my experience well don't be a bit of let's say what you really think of one may I speak too much manipulation going along in the political world and I want to see it cut down okay. is if you were in charge is to make an example of public people people who represent government going out in not especially kids because they are vulnerable do you think the kids rubber do you think the cheerleaders represent government. the representatives of town no they represent with school prayer is nine the. you know what I can't use the library to promote trump or anybody else okay so therefore you would impose some form of discipline punishment suspension or so Hey I want America I want to make sure that this isn't doesn't come up and it wouldn't matter if they had unfurled the sign of for Donald Trump all four Elizabeth Warren whom am absolutely not I do not go well you know I am. people your your sister but I wouldn't care or what okay what what should the penalty be Charlie in your opinion. well I wouldn't go this way not dispute this one out the whole system but I'd say like three games of four games I want to suspend all right fair enough that's what Charlie says all right Charlie presheaf your call thank you very much. with the Chinese guys media. SNL you're going to do a mall a good Scott. he's been thought well he is with his contract offer has been arrested that so that would be. okay what about the the the woman who happens to be an educational I I I don't know what it is she showed up and spoke she happens to be minority at the Boston straight pride parade which I think was a goofy parade as such yeah. because I think you know. I don't usually to general present sending. no threat to the community or their morals or anything all right fair enough I agree with you on that I agree with you on the SNL guy and I probably disagree with you on the first two but is always a great call thank you Charlie you're very welcome have a good day. well you know what Charlie things I want to know what you think six one seven two five four ten thirty triple eight nine two nine ten thirty let's focus. on the the SNL comedian this is an article that is an Associated Press article so this guy name is Shane Gillis never heard of him never heard of him apparently he thinks it's funny. to make fun of Asian people and so in a clip of video clip posted last year Gillis refers to an unidentified City's Chinatown as being nuts. I don't know what that means but that's what he said and used a derogatory word for Chinese people I'm not going to use the word but it is a derogatory word that sort of went out of style about thirty or forty years ago. he also complained about hearing an Asian trying to learn English so. this is as I understand that what he said now. the Saturday Night Live had the right to get rid of this guy absolutely there's no question about that in my mind my question to you is should have they gotten rid of this guy his argument as well you got to push the envelope if you're a comedian you know you gotta get out there a little bit to make people laugh I think it's a cheap laugh I think it's a if you want to be humorous and tell funny stories and then be quick and then engage in political satire there is so many fields but for you to have to just drop back to. using derogatory language. I don't buy that so we can focus on that if there's one of the others that you'd like to focus on I think the high school cheerleader one is the easiest for me I would not suspend unlike Charlie was a good guy I would not suspend them he said he would suspend them before engaging in political training basically a school football event into a making a political statement I would not suspend them I actually would applaud them for at least being interested in something more than just high school football six one seven two five four ten thirty triple eight nine to nineteen thirty this is one we're making you think and my audience all we stakes let me open up the BC box office for our second and final time tonight good reminder up. gotta be caller number ten at six one.

North Carolina thanks to me nor Stanley high school in North Carolina had this game on a August thirtieth it was the American night people were encouraged to dress patriotically everyone showed up in red white and blue and then at some point. the cheerleaders on the sideline took a picture with a couple of kids that had a trump twenty twenty sign. just trumpets got a waving flag it's as twenty twenty and then it says make America great again at the bottom and one of the cheerleaders held the side that would be closest to the flag pole if there was a flag pole and then the kid in a make America great again hat is holding the other end of the flag and there's one two three four five six seven cheerleaders in the photo all female cheerleaders for what it's worth and that caused a problem people complained some people are bridge from the New York Post some residents questioned why the political message was allowed. North Carolina high schools have a policy that prohibits students from displaying political science on campus or at school events. as a result of those complaints the cheerleaders have now been placed on one years probation why. I just told you why that's so stupid they can't surely it for you they can now well there was probation by probation yeah yeah we got to be careful here but probation in this context means basically they've been warned. okay well then why did they say probate you just probation isn't a punishment per se it's a notification that their behavior broke the rules and they will be monitored for any further infraction which would likely result in more severe punishments so it's like you're just out of animal house around our secret probation or whatever. get it I get it by the way waffles the name because you give you will find this just. you found Jessica Jones funny yeah so the name of the student that brought the banner over for the cheerleaders to pose with Donald Carson Palmer call he's a junior at the school there two boys did to juniors at the school where the boys that brought the thing over in the dirt and they said we didn't mean anything by it was an American night we had the flag of the president we didn't mean to get anybody in trouble and we didn't even understand why this is a problem but here we are. so. my question is the US number one. should these girls be like quote unquote on probation. now. why did someone from the school check all the props of the cheerleaders were bringing out they didn't bring it does walk down during why would someone stop them from bringing it in well that's tough I mean. in two or three kids probably doesn't all know because the difference is what the heck is the cheerleaders are wearing the schools now my A. R. representatives of the school but aren't they all feature Jeff there are they are they not students and their not dressed in the normal Stanley and I am an **** so the the the cheerleaders are specifically there representing the studio at the school where is the kids are technically fans of the football team or whatever they're not wearing their way they dressed. they chose to dress in trump stuff for the American night they would be allowed but the cheerleaders wouldn't so whether clear guidelines here for American I'd saying under no circumstance can anybody be pushing any political candidates again what's their guidelines would be that that is the case every day so there's no writer for no provision that says but you can on American so that there's no signs yes at their school we are not allowed to even wear see a trump shirt. not if you're a cheerleader you can wear a trump shirt a class what if your cheerleader wearing it to class A. uniforms I would doubt it's. but here's the deal. two two parts one should they be on probation for this to. that we've had this discussion before but can. this theme was American night. they're holding something all of the president of the country and they're on probation for that. on twenty sixteen flag would have been different well what if it was an Obama yeah well it's like what. what country. that's but one of the question we always good to so if it's black and white is a black and white with Jewish cared if these cheerleaders held up in Elizabeth Warren flag or Joe Biden fly if you don't like it then don't look at the cheerleaders okay I know but the school has a policy other way so they don't want to cause trouble they don't want to ruffle feathers of the school as the policy and that is the policy but so one is should they be on probation to is is your position on this shaped by the fact that it's a trump banner or is your position consistent three you don't care who it is they could have a we love the squad sign would you be okay with that cheerleaders at a football game all the not sign up. and then I just. at what point do you get to celebrate the pride the current president of the country if not an American I just I don't understand that part of it I don't understand how that can be a bridge too far for people six one seven two six six sixty eight sixty eight we'll take some calls in as we come back it's VB your were in the middle of WRKO. farmers insurance knows that there's a not so subtle difference between the sound of a car hitting your rear bumper. and the sound of a clown car hitting your rear bumper..

"Savings. it is a twenty one time Jefferies and don prior yeah go to the top to don show Facebook page do that right now you got to see the story that's really taking off I mean this is going viral big time it so it's about a North Carolina high school in fact the school cheerleaders now put on probation for the rest of the year because they displayed a trump twenty twenty banner before a football game yeah the cheerleading squad adored Stanley high school in North Carolina they were put on probation Monday they were reprimanded after holding up the trump twenty twenty banner during a high school football game just last week at the banner reads top twenty twenty make America great again all man yeah the squad was put on probation because the North Carolina high schools have a policy that prohibits students from displaying political science you know what policies policy understand the reasons for the policy I have a feeling though my god is telling me that had that been assigned may be supporting our local city council person running. might not have been as big of an issue well what might be wrong why do they why do they have the policy. and do you support it. well it because they want to avoid controversy they want to avoid any kind of it because all it takes is one person to be offended and they let you know that I am on probation was going to avoid controversy it's now a national news story through a rather controversy do you suppose what is the fear why did they create this policy what is the fear of our students holding a political banner are you afraid that students might get engaged in a debate on the issues of the day which is what they should be doing in some classrooms right talk about the issues of the day they're on the verge of becoming voters themselves and I can you know listen I I can appreciate the fact that they you stood up in the face of the oppression of that liberal education system that they're facing I mean obviously I don't have a problem with what the banner said. you have to if you support the policy then you have to have a problem with not not the wording is self my my issue would be just be that it's not to me it's not the place for political advertising of any kind it's it's just not but why. because it would it it they have nothing to do with he is just an odd combination it would it it would it would be very distracting out with that be I don't know I wouldn't care what I would look at and go whatever that's kind of kind of interesting can't hold a banner supporting the president what do you know of any other teams around the country that align themselves with with any kind of political figure and and make that fact known through a banner or whatever I can't think of a few athletes in the NFL that like to kneel well you got that same thing you got that and in my opinion but those that Neil should get off the field and and do it back in the locker room well this there are there are a lot of people are weighed in on this let's see here Eric says I appreciate their bravery standing of the face of oppression here's another posed to act on the tie to don show Facebook page this is what you get when you fail to teach kids about the constitution and the freedom of speech. well they should be high school kids not have free speech rights forced to do or so do all game show it didn't so what you're saying when it comes to freedom of speech there can't be any policy whatsoever. but that in any situation in in ordinary I did say that at all I did say that okay well when would it be appropriate for that that policy to be enforced something profane something supporting cigarettes or liquor that kind of thing something something like that well I'm the I know why the schools do this because again they the schools go out of their way right now this really their number one priority probably over education probably over anything else is to make sure no one is offended so I'm sure that is the reason for that policy because you never know one person might get a little bit uncomfortable we need more people to be offended. well yeah I agree that people are offended that means somebody use their free speech yeah and sometimes only is on one eighty three good morning learn a lot that way hello Hey good morning hi. well yeah yesterday was the American Dale whatever was the school where my freshman son goes and he won the where Maggie short the school in in I thought I would need to do it you know even though I wanted to but I knew it for the same reason that that the those kids got in trouble with the banner that he would probably get pulled out in you know punished for wearing the shirt and think about that you wouldn't let your can't wear a specific T. shirt because he might get punished well I'm not so horrible but I don't like you know just like I want to have a bumper sticker on my truck but I don't want to come home from a truck all torn up yeah what does that say about the left man what does it say about a child's teachers your child's principle. hello exactly but it is that I mean is that why you're there might be only one teacher like you said one person get offended but it's going to come down on you know come down if it if it is that white which it would be it's going to come down on it what is it me what is it he is going to get beat up or is going to get kicked out of school. you know the teachers are going to pull all the maybe great locating differently like with the grades or just giving giving troll the whole school year because the man I I don't know about you Tony if you if you truly believe that what happened to your child at your child's school please get your child out of that school today they're not safe for you know jurors would retaliate again because of a tee shirt that that is a place you don't want your kid but you know that's entirely possible now it is just. it's possible get your damn kids out of there a safe place for you it's you understand where you're coming from but I understand where he's coming from as far as not wanting his kid to be bullied not warning that his kid to be potentially beat up over T. shirt now sorry the re wrote real it with with mag at that that is possible and what you're describing is against the rules itself I got your place for hate Todd and John show..

"Town hall or the students at Stanley high school now, it's. Oh, I love that you asked this question Scott because Chris, and I talked a lot about this on the way home. I wouldn't. I don't know if they were tougher, but I would say that both were very profound. The students were very impressive Scott. Maybe just to kind of give you a sense of why even went to Stanford. I mean seems like it's been, you know, some people might think that that's a strange place to start your coffee with Gramer series. But the reason I did is because a high school senior by the name of Rachel savage, sent me a letter she sent the letter maybe it was an Email that that my wife, Chris intercepted, and she invited me to come and speak to the students at the high school, and it was sort of funny. I think Rachel would be okay with me saying this because she she introduced me yesterday at two to her peers. You know, she wanted me to come and give sort of a history lesson on the three branches of government, or or at least on congress. And in what we're all about why a political activism important why you know, why they should care more than anything. She just wanted me to tell them why they should care, and then she wanted me to court educate, and she said that to them in reducing me. She wanted me to educate these students, and of course. Well, that's fine. And I was happy to give a little opening statement about American exceptionalism self-governance and the importance of of the government being involved in the process of governing. Oh, it was really after that. I learned a lot from in. The course of an hour Scott now. And of course, we're an hour. She introduced me. Well, I if the superintendent of the principal open things up this student introduced me, I gave my little, you know. Opening statement about American exceptionalism and self governance in the history of all of that. And then in the course of the rest of the hour eleven questions were asked and that I was able to answer with students. But of course, while they're asking their questions. I'm gleaning information about what's important, and I it was very profound. I mean, one student asked about once soon asked specifically about the second amendment rights and one asked about how to how to protect the kids in schools, another student asked about their generation being that the least well informed. And of course, that opened the door for me to inform them that North Dakota's are, the most well, informed and that their generation they shouldn't be so hard and their on generation. But rather they should make sure that they in their peers are among the best informed citizens in our country. And I it was very impressive up and down the line. Just a lot of good questions asked about ethics in congress or in politics. Very. Challenging very good questions. And I just really appreciate it letting left their recharged. Really? And then same, of course, true of the adults at the although I coffee with Kramer, the first two questions that I loved to be asked for by two boy scouts were working on a civics badge and came for part of that poster picture, and so I let them ask the first two questions when asked about the border wall and the other aspect the national debt. So it's pretty it's pretty amaz. Let's just say that the youth of North Dakota are just fine. And we don't have a lot to worry about going forward and a Stanley blue Blue Jays have the bar high at eleven questions in an hour. So we're going to try and meet or exceed that today on the program for Senator Kramer. So folks, let's go to Blaine and Bismarck. First question for Senator Kramer, go ahead. Yeah. Yes. I really don't have a question for you there. I was calling is the HP and ninety seven build Sunday closing law is introduced into the Senate today around one o'clock, and I was just thinking reaching all of the people to call your senators your states. Your local senators and your state government to vote and tell them to vote no on the built in ninety seven 'cause what's in ninety seven takes away. The the freedom of your time. To be able to relax and have a recreation for with your family, and we've watered it down quite a bit. But as far as over the history of our Sunday closing laws aware. Businesses. Now, I just the individuals just as the morning to be to have free time. So. Want even bar that I was there yesterday. And by the way. Every everybody that I talked to about it said it's going to be very very close. But there are some there are some thoughts that it actually is is going to squeak by to maintain the current law. So enough folks, at least to this point have raised a objection about it. And I encourage people to do like, you do their senators. No for sure and it's easy to find. If you go to, you know, the Andy dot gov website, you can find their emails and never they're good about responding to them. So Kevin do you have a position on Sunday opening? Well, you know, generally a person in my position shouldn't enter into. Controversial issues with when you don't have to cast a vote, but I would tell you this is Scott. I remember. Well, and I'm sure you do I'm a bit older than you. But I remember so well when Sundays were off limits to retail and growing up in a border town of kindred where Moorhead was easy to get to go shopping on a Sunday if we needed to or wanted to or we're compelled to I we never were compelled to we loved that day off. It was the data, you know, to to be with family to worship. And and I frankly, I I don't miss it. But I still have the freedom to do that. If I want I don't have to go to WalMart or Menards or or to the mall on a Sunday afternoon. And if I choose not to do that, then so be it. But we do live in an in an era of convenience, don't we? Yeah. I like the idea that we're different with this mean people think oh, this is. So this is so antiquated. This is so old was this. Crazy. That's old like old what you know. I mean. Yeah. So is the state of North Dakota old. But does that mean we want to abolish it? I mean, come on. I consider it a good tradition. If you read the if you read the Bill.

"Our special guest this week as you've heard is the great Nikko. And his observer column is the reason we got up early on Sunday morning and have the rest of our day ruined. As a columnist. If nobody else in the country. Brexit is give the keeps on giving a couple of weeks ago. You went in very hard. The pieces recently won the Brexit fanatics. Go for broke, which we're talking about the way that conservatives want to be as as unconservative as possible. And you'll say gave David Cameron king. We do you think we spend enough time reminding everyone what a complacent failure. He is. And how much you summed up not just him. But an entire English mindset, which is which is different. Actually, it's different to the fanatics mindset, isn't it? It's the opposite. It's like everything is a game. Guess and someone's like that seems as destructive as the jets. Well, it will. It is. Nothing really matters. Stanley. Nothing really matters. You shouldn't get too excited wants to games over. You should say cans and so get on be friends as the boys Gunson is still friends with David Cameron. You Crete England like it's a club also country clicks within. Code words with. Famous sense of humor, which I said, we're going to need as the rest of the world losses. And and a faithful dilettantism words I keep coming back to you can't as prime minister guess spend your entire time as prime minister be defining yourself against you forming alliances. We've we've and really quite nasty policies like law and Justice never apart from when you described you Capers fruitcakes and loons and then backing off but never apart from that taking on the right wing making argument to the public about why we need stand. You're just think. Oh, well, I'm so calming I went to each ninety essays talk. So what I'll do is cool referendum term my arguments on my head and I can win. And I think historians again to be very very hard on his fellow politicians in Stanley high talk to our our bit like anger. They actually have have some simply for me. I'm I'm talking labor people not conserved. Deep into bloodlust and civil war now, and it's all getting very. Politicians? You know is not her mass. She clearly wants to do something else as prime minister overseas. The be all end apprenticeship at Cameron. You know, he just historians rally not write a conventional history. I mean, they will start in two thousand and five they were look at things. Belly registered in two thousand five when he wins, the Tory leadership by promising to pool the Tory peas out of European People's Party. Huston Bain centre-right expecting written very fake manifestation for Howard common. But it will all be be. I think the same would be said about the British left about their failure to realize what was growing on the left wing in Britain over this very strange post-socialist willingness to go along with any tyrants as long as western regardless whether left or right wing, and then there ever friend by Coleman. And you could write the same book about Cameron. It's not in the book he is writing buffoons next year. But house. How's he? Is it tough task to end? Then. I mean, he in some ways, he's the biggest loser all of this. Figure British working. Worst prime minister, historically, then who do you think will be people who may or Cameron? I think cameras out too. May may based great terror or shots too. So I said early warn knock on T nine country. Under Lancaster out and to the election when we had manifesto, and frankly. "But they everything on and the lines got some nasty, which would you like to see if you're a ban the fan and I think you know, listen to me is almost school and can they school a lot because we know they have the weapons. You know they have the office line running back has been a pleasant surprise for them thus far to start to see. But you know, you're not gonna lineup, obviously, and Powell Daniel. The RPO game, and you know business that team that attorney Alabama's number with was scoring points. Can they do to remember the defensive, replacing ton of guys and the secondary's still very, very green granted very talented and gonna make a lot of greens the future in the NFL. But right now still still finding bitch to see if I am or almost can put up before. One of my favorite things I've seen on Twitter, the hashtag Bama respect week, all miss fans are due at tongue-in-cheek going, hey, Alabama. You're still almost like trying to be polite to Alabama has come in because remember, vandy was talk a little noise last year saying we won, we won Alabama. Well, that did not that did not end. Well, how does it in for Georgia, this season, man. I mean, you look at what they were able to do in that second half. It doesn't seem like they missed a dang beat. And when you talk to people close to that your former school, what's the feeling? Do you feel like they. They're locking step with what happened last year. They can make another run. You know, here's what I wanted to see that weak p last week I wanna see. I wanna see the ball season is southville on in a position where they're ready to make some. Are they going to be able to Chit challenger to Georgia? The answer, no. Is gonna be legit challenge to step up and make Jordan really work. I think we saw last week against Kentucky that they're still working. So I think what we see now is the SEC is Georgia and everybody else, and here's the thing that's fun about Jovan. They play unless you another thing that's fun. They play over so they played both of those two teams, they're, they're all the west is not easy, but it could be fun. And I think we'll learn more about those teams. Georgia's Georges -bility two reloaded you say, game Thomas's. They're on their best office lineman. He gets. He's starting tonight goal that they're their starting left tackle and comes out. This flick showed number seventy seven, Kate as come to the game. It was like six foot nineteen, three hundred forty. Pounds just starts moving bodies out of the way, and they've. Stanley high level that nothing compares to the east, but it's just I, I think it's going to be one of those things where it comes so easy for them in the SEC east against looking at are the next couple of weeks with Tennessee, Missouri and fan of Bill. That's really going to be a challenge for them. I, it's, I mean, it's ripe Pollick because I mean, this seems to be the most quote gettable that Georgia's going to be for quite a long time in whenever you go out there and lose your starting left tackle in, oh, by the way, like playing instability, football and PlayStation to the next guy is just as good if not better it in quitting down there in Athens anytime soon now not and they keep the like this too, and this guy's got guys understand. Now to me, call harmonise new. Harvard is one of the best playmakers in college football. He had fourteen yard catch on green black. Okay. That's when you just throw them out out to see and you're like, okay, we'll take five and make it second five. Taking that. So how you handle the physical run game Georgia, coupled with now being the hands get sweet, the meet yourself spit out in the cold hearted as your holy steel..
