"Do you think we need new terminology for psychedelics? It should they be thought of as something else in terms of these new uses. If these drugs work in clinical trials as suggested by the nature paper. These drugs will not be psychedelic in that unlike psychedelics. While there are 5 HD to a receptor agonist, they will lack hallucinations at their therapeutically effective dose. And they will thus likely earn a new terminology based on a clinical psychopharmacology and benefit risk profile different from psychedelic drugs. Now, the G protein coupled receptor or GPCR research community has already developed over decades, a terminology for this putative mechanism. The most recent form of which is signal biased 5 HT two a receptor agonists. But we'll see if this terminology evolves during the development of this new classic drugs. Well, how did your company come about and focus on the potential of these compounds? On Sarah came about through the transformation of an earlier entity called noetic foundry, and on Sarah is a vessel within which pursued the most promising approach to make accessible the true potential of this mechanism to the broadest possible patient population. The scientific work that led to the founding of uncertain took place within a consortium of universities, led by Brian Roth, John jinn, Brian schuchat, John ellman, and their colleagues, including the university of North Carolina, Mount Sinai school of medicine, University of California San Francisco, Stanford, duke and Yale University, which was funded by darpa, the defense advanced research projects agency to discover new 5 HT two a receptor agonists for the treatment of complex mental health disorders. Drugs specifically that lacked elusive effects. On Sarah's mission is to complete this work by developing new medicines from this chemical matter. It's an interesting project for darpa to fund any notion of why they were interested in exploring this area. Yes, I think

On my TV show on newsmax, I did a monologue on Sunday where I said, look, I've worked in The White House. I've lived in the swamp since 2008. Here's one man's plan for defanging the deep state. And I'd just like to run these propositions past you and get your take on them. Number one, move U.S. departments and agencies out of Washington, D.C., the permanent bureaucracy does not want to live in South Dakota or Wyoming and their power would be diminished and real patriots in Americans would volunteer from those states to work in them. Identify fire and charge the worst seditionist in the first 30 days of the administration. Find those who have stolen funds who have undermined the U.S. Constitution who have leaked top secret documents and charge them let them be judged by a jury of their peers to change the culture of those who think they decide how the countries direction and not the elected chief executive. Number three, which is something I actually recommended to The White House in my first month there is to have a roving team of policy enforcers who every Friday go to each cabinet member and say, mister secretary madam secretary, what have you done to further the interests of the man elected by the people? And if the wrong answers are provided, the teams can report to the president that that cabinet member is how shall I say this no longer needed. And then lastly, as president Trump declared war from Mar-a-Lago about 7 weeks ago, if we had term limits as he suggested and a lifetime ban on lobbying for members of the swamp, things would look a lot different. Am I missing anything is any of this pie in the sky? We have to have a plan of action to drain the swamp and I would daily like to have your input. Yeah, I agree with all of those. I think we need to finish the wall first thing. And we have to have some kind of balanced budget protocol for that. And we've got immediately start for our foreign policy and energy needs. We need to start producing more natural gas and oil. The thing that Trump found, I think, and some of you are recommending the press. And he had three types of employees in high ranking positions, many of the inherited. We had some that were masters of the bureaucracy using those, often in The Pentagon, the FBI to thwart him to deliberately ignore executive policies and undermine them. And then he had people and those were like anonymous. And then there were those who thought that they knew better than Trump and while he may or may not agree, they thought he what Trump really meant is what they really wanted to do, and then we had a few whose, you know, even when they didn't agree with Trump, they'd say, okay, I know that bureaucracy and I will try to use the tools of the bureaucracy to enhance your agenda, but they weren't a minority. And so that really hurt him that he had these people who were leaking and especially when things about the wall. I mean, they were constantly going to court against him. When you have anonymous say that he was deliberately among many others, even though he wasn't as important as he said he was, but they were actively trying to thwart the president or you had the whistleblower that wasn't even on a phone call. And he was being fed the information by lieutenant colonel vindman. And all of that stuff, it was really hard for Trump to get through it. And so if he is the nominee or whoever's the nominee, they're going to have to face the fact that a real conservative will be immediately confronted by this administrative state that will try to destroy him by using these institutions that they know better than anybody because they've been there for years. Anthony Fauci is a good example. He runs $50 billion in research and I don't think Trump understood that if you're a scientist or a researcher at Harvard Stanford duke, Texas, Nebraska, wherever you are, and you get on the wrong side of Anthony Fauci, you're never going to shut down your lab. And that was why he got his power. We never should have invested that much power in one person. Yeah, a person who earns twice as much as the incumbent president and who was in his position for 30 7 years as director of that government institution..

"People, great to work with, and there's no safe, like simply safe. Last call for phone calls, what we learned what's in store tomorrow, this day in sports history, college football coming up tonight, you know, I love a good Tuesday night, Mac gamer two. Big slight Dan, Bowling Green versus Toledo. That's a big one. It is. And Bowling Green four and two in the Mac, Toledo 5 and one in the Mac, Toledo could take the lead, but you're Ohio squad. It's 5 and one in the Mac. They're at ball state. Line is 57, Ohio is 5 and one in the Mac ball state three and three and also college basketball tonight. Big slate, Kentucky at Michigan state. I see that's the neutral site. That's in Indianapolis. Winthrop auburn, buffalo, Yukon, Gardner Webb, both of them at North Carolina. San Diego state Stanford duke versus Kansas also an indie bam over Kansas Bill self the self imposed four game suspension. Yes, he will not be present. Alabama at south Alabama and Dayton. Dan Dayton's 21st in the country. At UNLV. Late night. That's fun. What country is that? By the way, had a friend of family friend who passed away recently played at Dayton and was one of the first recruits Don Donahue ever had. In fact, Don Donahue at Dayton got him instead of 8 offer up at Kentucky, George janke passed away. My brother's married to his sister. He was a legendary radio executive in Dayton, Ohio, a larger than life personality, a wonderful man, and will be greatly missed. So I'm every Thanksgiving, smiling his face, came into the room. He was, he took over the room. He was 6 8, about 280, maybe even more than that. But everybody loved George janky. All right. This day in sports history, Pauly. Got a few 1901 Ricky pierce to the Seattle SuperSonics. He had a free throw streak of 75 games. Just wanted to mention Ricky pierce.

"Thanks so much we appreciate that voice Some green on the screen here today Katie and I know it's a you know it's a light volume day right ahead of the holidays But the buy on the dip mentality which has been in this market for a couple of years now If not even more that seems still to be the case Still the case and what's crucial about I think this quote Santa rally which by the way for those of you who aren't familiar essentially addressing the week between Christmas and new year's one essentially markets are just on cruise control and you see the S&P 500 just kind of climb higher The average return by the way I should say in that kind of Santa rally week tends to be about 0.7% So we'll see if it is kind of in line with that But the other piece of the equation is of course like you said thin volume but liquidity as well How easily can you actually switch out your securities into cash and is actually where liquidity levels higher than we were in October So we're going to have to watch and see if those levels start to fall going into next week Hey dude Crocs Shoes The shooting which I'm not even referring to me for a second I'm not a Crocs wear off I have to be right up front there That's just not my look I don't think But anyway Crocs the stock is down 12% here They're announcing today they announced I guess a $2.5 billion acquisition of hey dude and I guess that's a shoe company two and a half $1 billion about 2 billion in cash 450 million in croc shares Crocs down 12% but the stock is up almost a 100% year to date And that's a similar dynamic you're going to be seeing even in Merck for example a lot of these stocks have had such a run up that when you start to see news that could potentially benefit their bottom line although in the croc situation of course they are in an M and a kind of deal the acquisition Acquirer There you go that's the word That looks like something's out there Tends to drop in news like this simply because of the investment that they're making but it's a similar dynamic like I said when you have Merck we got news earlier that anti COVID pill will target omicron and is getting approved by the FDA This of course will help treatment for any hospitalizations that do occur from the virus And that should technically be good news for the shares is your ticker but instead you do have workshops down about half a percent Yeah again it's just amazing when you look at these pharma stocks and the BioTech stocks the BioTech stocks in particular they are the hedge funds that's where the hedge funds really bet heavily in these biotechs because the BioTech stories are almost binary It's either hit or miss The drug works or doesn't the test comes the phase three trial comes back positive or negative and it either the stock either rips or crashes And if you think you've got an edge on the marketplace you can make outsized returns And that's why when I see some of these insider trading stories involving hedge funds oftentimes it involves healthcare But you know the amount of and this is just coming from personal experience here I'm an anecdote This anecdote my way out of this conversation Is essentially one before I was at Bloomberg I used to work and do some hedge fund research and a lot of it was healthcare oriented for something like Katie and for example which does a lot of BioTech investments And you did start to see a lot of these kind of healthcare research It is like you said so in the dark because you really have to have an understanding a biochemistry understanding essentially of what this stuff means I also have a friend who by the way is a research analyst in the healthcare space Go to that JPMorgan conference every year And she first of all makes bank makes so much money because she's able to understand exactly what these endpoints kind of mean That being said even when the stock price with every drop comes the resources to kind of resources come the ability to create and to test yet another drug So in the BioTech space and look some of it is proving really proving worth their while You can see that with Pfizer with Moderna and the success of course we've had with some of those smaller companies for biotechnology is a small cap company and has had major success with their own anti COVID pill and now potentially could be moving out of that small cap space Yeah interesting So many of these analysts that healthcare analysts have BioTech analysts in particular are either MDs or PhDs even our Bloomberg intelligence at PhD in pharmacology or some craziness And so he's able to kind of make sense out of all this stuff All right here's the story that across the Bloomberg terminal that's interesting to me Yale is delaying the start of their spring semester by a few weeks due to the omicron strain And they're not alone We've seen Harvard Stanford duke also announced plans to begin the term starting online and maybe even a little bit later I think they want to just say hey folks you've been traveling during the holiday period Come on back to campus but let's quarantine Let's do this online before we all start getting together in the classrooms And so we can kind of prevent the spread of this variant on campus So the universities I think they've learned some best practices over the last couple of years And again we're starting to see some of these announcements coming out of these schools as they think about bringing their students back from the winter break Yeah and I mean negative headlines on the surface but I bet there's some kids out there who are saying oh my God I got a few extra weeks to go and enjoy the vacation or the flip side I have a few extra weeks stuck in the basement of my parents house You can go two ways Yeah it's interesting I do a lot down to university and they were very very adamant and very aggressive here for the false semester that they wanted the students back on campus They mandated like a lot of other universities mandated vaccines for students and staff and that the staff is the big issue because you have some unions there You have to deal with But duke along with a lot of other universities were very very stringent in terms of their vaccination policies And I think this just reflects again the need to try to get their students back on campus as safely as possible and prevent any outbreaks So we'll have to monitor how that goes but that was an interesting story Coming from the worlds of higher education Right now let's head down to Washington D.C. Let's get some world and national news with Nathan Hager Nathan Well Paul the story of the morning is then there were two Two COVID pills Now authorized in the U.S. just as a Macron threatens.

As an example my understanding is notre dame is the top fencing school in all of america talking about football clip. They also have a fencing team often one thing well. And you're saying you'd like to go to notre dame. No all i said on twitter was that if my parents had money influence they had fill henry fencing team. And then i just as an afterthought dame notre dame i thought. Unlv fan all right. I'm sorry i let let's get back to this so her bob. What do you see this. So don't tell the school that you're that you're working at but do you see evidence of this. Oh yeah you see. I can tell you this much talk about orientation orientation you look into the eyes of some of these parents and they have that though sort of created the need you see the need on the faces of these people. They must have their child attend the stages university. They must simply must. And they must have the child beale. The ruling came the prestige. That goes along. With having one of your. Excuse me saying this. But having one of your brats stink up The roster insulting phil. I think it is insulting. I quit many young people deserving of college education a great many parents deserving of some financial assistance and helping those young people realize that dream. And here you have money. The individuals yes. I'll said money individuals who also happen to be caucasian. Or if you will caucus carcassonne. That is the technical term for the white in the right field. Yeah whatever man they don't use it anymore and i don't why breaking down racially because that's exactly what's going on you've got the caucus. Can you just see white people all right white people and they get the kid into the school. They pay enough money. The kids not only in the school kids out. Whether you got kids on the fencing team or the kid is a god knows what east in the twitter. The twiddle twenty. What do you call it. Sport what sport tiddlywinks that's it. "Wins and fails quickly okay. My win is the women's water polo team who could be best described it's total vat asses. They dominated japan. They had a physical but great victory against china and also there is really a lot of inspiration at the olympics especially around age. We have a fifty seven year old Table tennis star knee. She lawn Who is on the team. Also there is an eleven year old qualified to serve on the table tennis team but the syrian arab republic team. There's a fifty seven year old and a sixty six year old who qualified for the equestrian Compose teams and other sports. Jay give oldest man. An olympic beach volleyball at forty five also a cancer survivor sue bird. Who's going for a fifth women's basketball gold medal at the age of forty one. Megan married. i didn't know that And the evergreen forty six year. Old gymnasts oxana shoots into that one right. We'll also be the only became. So i think anyways i wanna give some shoutouts to some athletes trashing base and then my loss or my fail is this is a trivia question. You know how well do you scott because you claim we're friends who tell people were friends but you really don't know relationship okay. You do heard you do anyways anyways. So what do the following. What do these the following organizations all have in common okay. The student body at university high school stanford duke kellogg university of indiana university of texas warden. And now the soho house would oh and the ocean club in florida. What do all of these organizations have in common scott pay. Do you go there okay. I applied for membership. Okay all of these. I either applied to college there. I applied to be a member was rejected all of them. Well you got rejected by the soho club. So house fide like six months ago thinking they're going public which means salaheddin anybody. I was wrong. I was wrong. I haven't talked to say that. I don't want any friends. They couldn't believe it. When i know everybody wants carabobo anyway. I said no. And i wouldn't use it but what what are you. What are you called. Brooke and getting the santa sentate one. The one in la. I'm fine. I wear a badge of honor. I am finding what what sanford i was. Also rejected by stanford university of indiana. That hurt hurt side either taxes. War kellogg duke. Oh i got rejected. I forgot about that. Iran for five different body offices in high school lost them all sophomore junior senior class president. And then the soho house. I went kinda hurts anyways. They do let everyone in my law. What i didn't do. I don't know fifty six year old boring straight white guy. It's not like i'm everyone's list. I need more of that. Find out what. The erectile dysfunction is not a protected anyways so okay so the the company that else when public in my loss is they've they're trading about a two and a half doing evaluation. I got two billion and dad thirty properties. So as far as i can tell their value property which is essentially kind of a really nice restaurant and good business model. I think they do a great job. I go a lot. And i love it there. I go to. The miami was obviously have to go with guests because remember because i'm not a member. I think they do a great job. This is an example of a frothy market companies should not be a public company and they their record. There's only one year. They property rich people but go ahead. So i have an amazing business. It's an amazing business so house. It's it's record profitability in two thousand eighteen. They did fifteen million. Eba thing has somewhere between three and five billion enterprise value. This thing is just so ridiculously over valued and it's perfect example i think froth in the market and it's not the rejection speaking right just makes. Let's let's talk a little bit little bit. But i'm used to that. I almost to get in like three thousand or three five hundred bucks a year. Something like that anyways. High relative lack of near-term profitability historical profitability. Disin- just makes sense as a public company in right now it's trading at evaluation of You know a fairly decent hotels so anyways my loss is not all of these organizations have rejected the dog. That's just commonsense. I get that. I empathize with that but as public as a public stock And this is really more prediction. This thing is not going to hold. Its value i. I would tend to agree with you although they should let you in. You know what i mean are typically. I'm a better version of me drunk. They haven't seen drunk people in there are even less impressive than yes. That's how rejected me. Having gotten in sake all right well let me. I'm going to do a very quick winning. Fail same thing sarah huckabee. Sanders did an op-ed in the when the arkansas paper. She's a gubernatorial candidate there. She said she'd been vaccinated against corona virus and urged others to do the same at the same time she of course headed. Call it about the trump vaccine and she had to then say you should do what you want which i didn't love so whatever it like was a twisted piece. I have to say but nonetheless. If it's as george conway says if it saves lives then i'm happy about it. That's fine okay scott. That's.

Details emerge on "really smart guy" who aced tests in college scam
"So let's talk about operation varsity blues that is this this this cheating scandal case that has drawn a ton of attention. And I think for all the right reasons because this is a horrible thing to have happen in our society. When you've got a lot of deserving kids deserving based on merit being denied admission to some of the top universities because. Rich people coming in and trying to buy access for their kids. So you know, that the guy who ran this operation, the main guy with this operation was a character by the name of singer singer. But what's really interesting is the person who was tasked with taking the tests or grading the tests or proctoring the tests for the kids so that they could get their ACT and SAT numbers up. He's a guy by the name of Mark Redel? All right. So singer is the guy who ran the operation Mark, rebel or right? L is the college entrance exam counselor. Who is the main focus of the cheating on the tests component or the tweaking of the tests. So, you know, the consultant is William Rick singer. He pled guilty Tuesday in federal court in Boston to helping students cheat on their standardized tests, but the brains behind the operation was this guy rebel thirty six years old. He was supposed to be in court today in Boston. And he was the one actually filling in the bubbles. For the progeny of the actresses, and the lawyers the businesses the children of privilege rebel is a kind of an interesting guy because he's smart, and he had a lot of opportunity, and he kind of comes from a decent background. And why this guy would decide he wants to start cheating mean other than the obvious getting paid is beyond me, but rebel right L, rebel. We'll just say rebel has been charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud as well as conspiracy to commit money laundering. He's been cooperating with the investigation since February. He's actually hoping to get some leniency when all this is put debt in a statement emailed Buyoya to the Washington Post rebel apologize says he's taken full responsibility for his actions. I wanna communicate to everyone. I'm profoundly sorry for the damage. I have done and the grief I have caused those. As a result of my needless actions. I understand how my actions contributed to a loss of trust in the college admission. Nhs process. Meanwhile, as you might imagine he has been suspended indefinitely. From his job as director of college entrance exam preparation. IMG g academy a private sports academy preparatory school in Bradenton Florida that he would be suspended from that job. While this stuff is going on. He's also an alumnus of the academy this academy that he was a part of had trained hundreds of Olympic and professional athletes tuition, by the way. Seventy seven thousand dollars a year. If you live there and go to school sixty one thousand dollars a year if you just go to the school as a day student. From there. Redel the guy who has taken the test went on to Harvard University where he dazzled as an NC two A division, one tennis player and by all accounts. He really was a tennis player. He really did play tennis for Harvard. It wasn't the scam in the flimflam. He was raised in Sarasota, Florida. He was named the tennis player of the year in one thousand nine hundred ninety nine by the Herald Tribune, his hometown newspapers father is a prominent real estate lawyer in the area with degrees from Michigan state and Wayne State university of in Detroit. A woman who answered the phone at the number listed for his parents threatened to call the cops and hung up when we asked her questions. This is the Washington Post. He began his job as IMG's exam. Prep director in oh six and lives in palmetto Florida, just outside Sarasota records show. He married a college classmate and helps direct the local Harvard club of Sarasota, he has been given or he has given modest sums to local candidates. But otherwise, he's. Remains remote from high profile debates and scandals by all accounts, lives, a quality a quiet life seemingly at odds with the brazen. Acts of fraud of which he now stands accused. What should be noted? According to the Washington Post is this man rebel had no inside access at the exam companies that the parents implicated in the scheme so badly wanted to beat what he had was a Harvard degree and a good set of test taking skills. Andrew Lang the US attorney for the district of Massachusetts offered this assessment of rebels utility quote. He was just a really smart guy. He did not have inside information about the correct answers. He was just smart enough to get a near perfect score on demand or even to calibrate to score. So it didn't draw too much attention. I just need fifteen points. Get me fifteen extra points. Get me twenty extra points. That's what he was able to do. According to the indictment singer flu rebel to Houston. In different locations in California where the self-described quote master coach had bribed test administrators for their cooperation and paid the Harvard. Grad ten thousand dollars for each student whose testy either corrected or completed entirely by himself. Let me just say parenthetically. It's ten thousand dollars is nice. Nice money. How many people got busted in this in this game? Do you remember? Was like fifty. So let's say he made ten thousand. Let's say he did fifty tests any ten thousand test five hundred thousand dollars. But is that are you gonna race your entire life over a half a million bucks? When you clearly he's got skills. Sometimes the students believe they were taking the tests for themselves other times rebel actively helped him on the exam in the fall of two thousand fifteen a thirties said he sat side by side with a student as she completed her SAT in Belmont, California, providing her with answers and later gloated about getting away with cheating that was the young girl. I told you about that was in the newspaper. Authorities said in the summer of twenty eighteen he completed the ACT in Houston hotel room for the son of Jane Buckingham. The chief executive of a boutique marketing firm in Houston. I believe her book. If you look it up Jane Buckingham is her book is entitled how to get out of sticky situations. Singer boasted that rebel was his best test taker according to the indictment he could quote nail a score. He's that good. That's that's who this. This guy is the US attorney leveling echoed the assessment when he addressed reporters on Tuesday explaining how singer would discuss with parents their child's target score which had to be good. But had to allude suspicion. See can't cope from like zero to a fourteen hundred you've got to kind of work your way up. He then would direct rebel attempt to hit that exact score that they were looking for his page on the IMG academy website was removed on Tuesday a cash. Eight version includes the boarding schools account of his duties and credentials. He was a coordinator and leader of the college entrance exam prep. So he's obviously steeped in entrance exams and the college exams, so he's probably taking these tests on the side for fun. Okay. That's a b squared. Okay. That's three. Okay. That's see. Okay. That's. There's only going to be like a universe of questions. I mean, probably some of them are very familiar, and if he's taking all these tests, he's probably just getting better and better taking the same darn task course over and over again. Imagine. If like, he's just will be interesting if he just had a massive change of heart starts to out these kids bloom. What do you mean only got three hundred? I'm never gonna get it. Now. I'm going to venture now rebels page. So it says that he was basically in the test. Yeah. I think I'm gonna taverna tank out all your tests. So is the coordinator and leader of the college entrance exam. Prep was responsible for the schools, test prep curriculum and recruited tutors to fill the growing need for additional one on one tutoring. Which allowed the students to have private learning opportunities and customize their educational experience. John I'm going to see if any of them want to come and hang with you. All right. Maybe put us we're delta school.
