"Scene. Don't get involved. Didn't you hit the goalie? It was a good save. Let's take a look then at the prediction. Class remember Bruce. One nil up. Going into that tie on Tuesday at Stanford bridge. Everyone is going for a Chelsea victory with the exception of Shaka. I've got Dortmund to go through on penalties in the end. Mario and Stevie have got Chelsea to go through on penalties, Don and Julian think they can do it in regular time. Don, what makes you think Chelsea can score two goals? Well, you look at the numbers and it probably suggests that I'm wrong, but I look at the performance when they play Dortmund, they could have scored 6. And they absolutely battered them. Granted, there's a lack of confidence in front of gold, but I think the atmosphere might see them through. I think it's one of them where I think I look at Felix he was incredible at the weekend, really unlucky that he wrapped across bars. It's a bit of a sub story when we keep saying, well, unlucky, goal, keep a play well. They miss chances. But like Liverpool, at some point, Dan, I watch Chelsea and even though they're shot shy. I still get the impression they're going to give someone a real doing. Now it might not be dormant whether they beat them four or 5, but they're going to give someone a big beaten. So that's why, again, on top of the Dortmund performance away from them and this could have called 5 or 6, I think they'll beat them too. And I think they'll go through comfortably. George, do you think Chelsea as well? I think at some point, it will click. I think there will be a bit more clinical at some point. I still think that they have issues of course. Even defensively with the board in terms of structure of that team is still far from perfect, but surely they've got too much talent on the page and on the bench as well, by the way. For us on getting it right and yeah, I think it could be tomorrow. They would have the crowd with them. That would eventually lead psychologically. It's a huge relief. They didn't play great for the whole game, and they were under pressure towards the end, but psychologically, in terms of relief and just a bit of momentum, a bit of positivity, really, I think this is big and to be back as time for bridge. Again, second home getting in a row, even in a different competition. So again, so important as this one, I think it would play in the favor. Mario, you'll have no fingernails left if it does indeed as you suggest go to penalties. Oh yeah, yeah, but I also, because I know this moment and say, well, what Chelsea is in now. I mean, being there, we had so many times you had moments. But one of the key things is as well is I hope the foreigners also know that because that stadium at the bridge, when this moment happens, it's like one of the greatest moments to be in, but also one of the most testing moments, because they go quiet, they make a lot of noise to get you going, but then they go quiet if you don't perform. But if they can get their fans to keep going, the setting is a great one to be. Dormant is a team that keep on winning. So they're not playing against a team that is not used to not having the ball. They don't mind if you have the ball. And they don't mind if you are leading the real motor game. So I hope they don't get disappointed in the sense of don't pass too much because sometimes I watch you see the tick tick tick tick tick tick and I never go to the end product. I hope they will finish things off because then it will be really enjoyable game for them. And Dartmouth yeah, you clearly playing against a team reform. So I could just mean you going for Dortmund at a moment for you. A little bit of worrying because me and you went from Manchester United against Liverpool. We only two were not that kind of scared. But listen, don't miss a tune of the year Dortmund just keep winning. Dortmund do not know how to lose or even draw a football game. With a goal lead Chelsea will have to come out a little bit and knowing how shots shy, I think as you would, that don't used Chelsea have been, I just worry that the leader themselves a little bit exposed that they start present for a little bit too much. And dopamine make the most of it. I just feel this is a game now, Chelsea, lord home, and the plea inter Dortmund's hands a little bit. Just before we let you go, Mario, obviously you live in Los Angeles, so much to do with a weekend. But this is how you chose to spend what you're Saturday night. Have we got the picture there? There we go. Playing Chelsea monopoly with some sort of dip. You know why? You know why, then, you know why? Because when you enjoy, what you have to also make sure that you're keeping your life. It doesn't matter what you do. But clearly. So I got to play the game with him, allow me to do that. Who

"Joe should have scored. Yeah, but some of his general players really good. I mean, he looks like he's got the sparkle back, but he put two of them over the bar in the first half. So yeah, I mean it ended. The tie is not dead, does it? No, I mean, if the play like that at Stanford bridge, it's going to be down to the same thing again. Yeah. However, there's not a finisher. Felix isn't a furniture he's a playmaker. About my young's out the door. Something needs to take the ball in the back of the neck. I mean, there's basically quite simple for them. Yeah, and of course for barus your doorman, it was Addy emi, put it in the back of the net. From a strike, I know you've got a lot of experience of this alley. Running with the ball from the length of the pitch. It must be so difficult to keep your composure after that and do what he did. As opposed to just going, oh, I'm back it. No, well, see, you are expecting. And hoping that at some point, the defender, in this case, sense of Fernández is going to try to get a nibble of the ball. It's going to try to dive in. And when he dives in, that's when you use the change of pace, that's when you use the speed. And that was a mistake of Fernandes. He was delaying delay in the lane. He should have continued to delay and hope that he was going to get some help eventually, but he when we're a little dip on the shoulder. He went for a little, I think I can get to this ball, and that's a moment in which other yamiche said, I know you're not. That was the change of speed. That's when you see the athleticism gets around the goalkeeper puts it away and just as impressive. The celebration. They inverted flipped. I have the effort to then do a flip after all that rum here. But to your point, it does take patience. It does take some maturity, which you wouldn't think of the Yemen would have such a young player. But that he doesn't get desperate. He knows that there's going to be a moment in which he's going to cut to the inside or the outside. Whenever whenever and so Fernández gives him that opportunity and he took it so very well. When ends of Fernández were diving when diving in for a ball, there was no chance he was going to get to it. How could we go, Frank? Oh, that was great. Even if I think kipa could have done better, he almost touches the ball. But yeah, I agree with Ali. Enzo Fernández the midfielder is not a defender to slow down to try to push a little bit at the Emmy, maybe on the left on the left side and all pushing me away from the goal would have been a good idea. But the guy is so fast. So fast or is you have to make a decision very quickly, you're running backwards. It's always difficult. You were waiting for chago siva to come back, but it doesn't do that that much. So at some point you make a decision and you have not even half of a second to make that decision. But yeah, all credit to the player. I mean, the first control was great. The pace is great. The tech economy is great and the finishing is great as well. So well done man. It's great. There wasn't one player. There wasn't one Chelsea play on the defensive aspect of it made a good decision. Right. It should never be caught like that. Yeah. How quick you are. And once again is a Fernández is one on one, it gets the after bonds. As Frank said, Kepler's got to make a better decision. Once you commit, and he's going to go around them, or he's going to give a penalty away, if we backs off, then at the Emmy, it has to take a straight from is quite an angle. Yes. So there was just bad decision making all around from that defensive aspect. And that's ultimately what cost them. So there was good decision making from the referee. There was a play on the recognition that this is, even if you are 80 yards from goal, it's still an opportunity because of a clear counter attack. Beautifully done from a suit mansion, even more beautiful from other game. It's interesting from ademi, of course, is quite a frustrated figure, Jules since making that much hype move to Dortmund struggled really struggled in the opening half of the season. That's what three goals in three now for him, where he was just starting to show the glimpse of the skill that he had as to why he had so much excitement around this sign. Here you're right completely, it's a completely different player since the

Hey Jules, so to begin with, it's a market holiday in South Korea, no trading in equities there. We have the in the opening moments the kneecap pushing higher by about three tenths of 1%. We did have some eco data for Japan, a short while ago. This is second quarter GDP. It's the preliminary read growth on an annualized basis of 2.2%. That was a little below estimates. The street was looking for two 6, so we have a bit of a recovery in the end here at one 33 30. The yen during New York treading Friday, much weaker we were down about three tenths of 1% against the greenback, but we did have a stronger dollar to be fair, and the dollar remains firm here in the early Asian session with the Bloomberg dollar spot index rising about a tenth of 1%. So some of what we're seeing today is in reaction to a strong equity rally in the states on Friday, yes, the NASDAQ composite was up more than 2% with the S&P higher by 1.7%, but today we have a couple of key data points for the Chinese economy. Taken together, they are likely to show modest modest improvement in the month of July. We'll talk more extensively about that momentarily here on DBA. Also today, the PBOC is expected to keep its rate on the medium term lending facility unchanged at 2.85%. The offshore Chinese yuan unchanged against the greenback now at 6 73 72 against the dollar. In terms of U.S. rates, we're pretty stable here at ten year treasury two 83 a two year three 24. We'll take another look at market action for you in about 15 minutes, Brian. All right, Doug, let's take a closer look at the economic data coming in China later this morning. It could offer some important clues on policy selection direction over the rest of the year. Let's get a preview from Bloomberg's Rosalind Chen. China will likely report a further recovery in its economy in July. Retail sales probably grew 5% from a year ago, up from 3.1% in June. That's according to the median estimate in a Bloomberg survey of economists, with business and consumer activity gradually picking up with the relaxation of COVID restrictions. Meantime, the recovery momentum in the industrial sector likely stayed intact. Industrial output is estimated to have grown about 4.4% in July, up from 3.9% to the previous month. Still, July's rebound could be short lived with COVID outbreaks in popular tourism destinations. Authorities recently shut down parts of Tibet's capital and left thousands of tourists stuck on the tropical island of hainan to contain infections. The Chinese government will publish data at 10 a.m. Beijing time. In Hong Kong, I'm Rosalind Chen, Bloomberg daybreak, Asia. In addition, we saw considerable weakness in the July credit numbers that were put out on Friday. Bloomberg economics says that that should put policymakers on alert, the demand for loans was weak and it's the weakest since 2017. Julia. Well, Saudi Aramco posted the biggest quarterly adjusted profit of any listed company globally, the state controlled oil producers saying it posted about $48 billion in profit, and that is up from about 26 billion a year earlier. Now the company is using its profit to reduce dish and invest in a huge expansion of its production capacity. Aramco says it expects demand for its oil and chemicals to remain high for the rest of the decade. "Behind Manchester United for fourth place but do have three games in hand Chelsea winning his Champions League round of 16 first like matches Stanford bridge over Leo two nil as a blues get goals from Kai horts and Christian Pulisic and the other round of 16 class eventus and Villarreal Plato one I'll draw in Spain as dusan vlahovic scores for you they just 32 seconds into the match a record for a Champions League debutante Danny Pereira those scores equalizer for Villarreal in the 66 minute Major League Baseball and the Players Association meeting again today in Jupiter Florida after making little progress yesterday on key differences Reports say the league believes it's the union's turned off for compromises after baseball tweet their latest offer The starter spring training games has already been delayed to March 5th while opening day on March 31st is in jeopardy of having to be postponed Sources report that the Los Angeles Rams are naming university of Kentucky offensive coordinator Liam Cohen as their new OC replacing Kevin O'Connell who is hired as a head coach of the Minnesota Vikings Cohen spent three seasons as a rams assistant coach before taking over at Kentucky last year I'm Dan schwarzman that your Bloomberg world sports op day Markets headlines and breaking news 24 hours a day at Bloomberg dot com the Bloomberg business app and at Bloomberg quick take This is a Bloomberg business flash Well market simply abandoned risk assets today given the worsening situation involving Ukraine now we have sanctions against Russia being imposed by the U.S. the EU and the UK bottom line here is that Russia is being cut off from access to western financing At the same time the U.S. saying it is working closely with Germany on halting the Nord stream two pipeline so in the equity market today we had the S&P down 1% We are now in correction since the S&P is down 10% from its earlier high this year to be fair though we finished off the low point of the day NASDAQ comp down about 1.2% and the Dow today weaker by 1.4% Chinese stocks listed here in the U.S. tumbled on signs Beijing's regulatory scrutiny of big tech is back on the front burner We have the NASDAQ golden dragon index down nearly 4% today By the way in Hong Kong this three day route in tech stocks has wiped out about a $142 billion in market value In the bond market today very curious trade tenure unchanged but a big spike in yield on the two year treasury as bond market decided that the fed is ready to raise rates in an aggressive fashion so we have the ten year or rather the two year spiking 7 basis points to one 54 that leaves us with a much flatter yield curve The bond market seems to be suggesting a lot slower growth at a time when inflation is boiling We've got a market holiday in Japan so no trading in U.S. sovereign debt today and no trading in Japanese stocks as well In the early going in Sydney ASX 200 down just a tenth of 1% New Zealand Central Bank is set to raise rates for a third straight meeting We'll be talking more about markets in about 15 minutes Let's get the latest global news headlines next Ed Baxter is in the newsroom in San Francisco Eddie All right thank you very much Douglas a Hong Kong has announced its compulsory testing.
