"So it is the end of an era. He's one of the greatest athletes this city has ever seen and play with more heart, soul passion, fighting through injuries that would put a baseball player on the 60 Day injured list. Guy had 17th knocked out, missed two shifts. They put oral glue and gauze in his mouth. Let's go get back on the ice, and they won three Stanley Cups. He won two Norris trophies He want to Con Smyth trophy. He's played 1192 NHL games, has 625 career points and has never averaged fewer than 23 minutes per game in a 16 year NHL career. He turns 38 this Friday. He's now a member of the Edmonton Oilers. Jonathan Well as you Well know, Cap I'm an eighties Hawks kid. So Denis Savard is my favorite. Savar C chord. Larmer Bannerman. Those are those are my guys, right? But you think about some of the all time great. I mentioned some of them. But you think about Stan Mikita. Tony Esposito's some of the all time greats, But you got to understand the Duncan Keith is there as well. When you think about power play goals on ice against his number one total goals on ice against He's number one a number of other categories, including defensive point shares. When you really go into the granular detail of what Duncan Keith did, it's more than just a scoring. It's the little things he did defensively as well. You think about Keith C. Brought Doug Wilson. Bob Murray, Um, PR. Pull out your guy from back in the day, right? Good old number three. Those guys were part of the defensive point share. So you talk about all around terrific player when it's not hyperbole. For us to say this is the end of an era. We're talking about a difference making hockey player. Part of the championship era. So this is why, you know you gotta turn the page at some point right? Because you know the organizations changing, but Duncan Keith was one of the heart and soul players of this hockey team. So Greg Lashinsky the puck Daddy. He's very good. He's outstanding writer for ESPN. He's been all over the hockey world used to be at Yahoo! He graded the trade. Can you tell me what letter grade he gave to the Chicago Blackhawks and what letter grade he gave to the Edmonton Oilers CB. He gives the Chicago Blackhawks in eight plus for what they acquired. They brought in a player and I believe it is a Caleb Jones that they got that Seth's brother correct. And Seth is going to be a free agent. The Hawks are supposedly Targeting. He's one of the best defensive players in the game. Popeye Jones kid exactly, And they also got a third round draft pick. He gives the Edmonton Oilers a D plus Said. Yes, He's an amazing player. But you take a $5.53 million cap hit for a guy turning 38. And you give the Blackhawks a third round pick and a solid player. That's a hall for Chicago. Yeah, I mean, you see that they're rebuilding right? And by the way, this will be the good time feeling about the Blackhawks because, as Jeff put together a tremendous montage You think about the championship your own I can think about is the music and the fans and people really get into the Blackhawks in the John McDonnell Europe. He was part of that man. That's why it gave me goose bumps just to hear that because All we saw is winning. Always saw his championship level hockey something I never thought I'd ever see. In my lifetime. It's kind of like the Cubs of the White Sox World Series right to see them not to ring the bell three times. Pretty good. Pretty, you know, also reminds me is that in that montage we heard some color analysis from Pierre McGuire. Who is no longer broadcasting is now the Ottawa Senators. Senior vice president of player development that is better for NHL TV. Um goodbye, Pierre. Good luck. Get off my TV. Thank God He's no longer part of it holding down And so all these years all I needed was that so I didn't need anybody else. I didn't need him. Those stick his nose in on the color analysis. I didn't wanted it. I didn't want him in there. So all I needed was Doc and Enzo. And there's a guy between the between the benches. Given his color analysis. I didn't ask for it. How about that? So now, Ed. So wherever he's going to go clear and free and free, just be able to give us color analysis about being interrupted by the little bald guy down there. Goodbye, Pierre and so off. Goodbye, TBS. Correct and their hockey coverage which TNT TNT. I'm sorry. Yeah, you know, it is sad that I hadn't thought about that. Because, like and I'm glad ESPN is back in the hockey game. I think it will be better for everybody when ESPN is involved, because we all I think, just by habit have ESPN on. It's almost like the go to okay. If I'm turning my TV on, Where's the starting place? For me? It's always ESPN just Just check in right? And for years, they have not really been totally in the hockey game. And for the great Hawks run. ESPN was not really in. We would get the occasional When the playoffs would roll around. We'd get Barry Melrose. We get Steve Levy, but that was it right. It's an NBC run for the Hawks and You know, that's the one. It's leaving. You know, NBC no longer has the rights and it's interesting because the entire hawks you know that championship run that was I don't know if you want to classify it as a dynasty, but three cups sure in that, you know, over that seven year period, whatever it was, it is that was we count that like we caught the Spurs dynasty. Yes, Yes, exactly Good cost city, but like, and it was synonymous with everything that was going on with NBC. Doc had the call of all those Great cup wins. Eddie all check. We all love on the show was, you know, instrumental in every call, you know, not just during the season, but also for all the playoff runs, which made it feel that much more special. And now that NBC's out of it, it's just interesting, but that the Hawks run is over. And you're seeing that with the trades of guys like Duncan Keith because he's nearing the end of his career, sure, and and it's just if you hadn't really Like I said, it's over. It is absolutely over like this, where we love tapes and Kane. But this kind of signifies that that run is officially okay. Here's one question. So the Blackhawks have filed a motion saying that they're not responsible for what Bradley Aldrich did when he went to coach at the high school. Think it's reprehensible stance to take But that's their stance. I'd like to be the attorney on the other side of that, By the way, I can prove that you that you're liable but go ahead so If indeed they end up losing and this scandal just this was the Bears The Cubs. The White Sox are the Bulls, not hockey. It would be front page freaking news all the time. Anyway. If they determine Yeah, the Hawks are liable and they knew about it in this meeting. There's going to be massive change in that front office. For me, Eddie All checks the president of hockey operations. Go hire a GM, but you're going to be the face of what we're doing. You've got a sterling reputation your Chicago in and you played here. Just saying that I don't. Uh, scandal, no scandal. I think that's probably needed, agreed. What I'm saying like I think it's kind of needed. See evening here..

"And then it's September. He doesn't give up a run. He is unhittable in September that September was pandemic. Who knows? And then he's been lights out, and here we are Now the 26th of June. He still lights out, so it's been really cool to see. And if this is who he is, If he's back to this level, I don't understand the people that go. You've got to trade Craig Kimbrel because you're not going to resign him. Well, why not? We're not trying to win next year. Now we're going to go search for another closer if you truly going to try and win in 2022, Craig Kimbrel gives you a better chance than no correct, Kimbrough. Yeah, Cap. This is something I had written down to grown up in Maquina watching a lot of Chicago Blackhawks games on television. Pat Foley set to retire as the voice of the Blackhawks after this coming season. Just want to get your thoughts there and what a guy like him has meant to the city. I think he's arguably the greatest play by play Man in the history of our city 39 years, I I personally believe that he was forced out. I do not believe that this is him stepping down on its own. I think this is the Blackhawks way of cutting expenses and moving on and bringing someone new in, But he's amazing. He's phenomenal, and he has not lost his fastball. I think it's sad that he won't be on the broadcast. In fact, I don't understand to be totally truthful with you. And I said this on my radio show. How do you not look at that guy and go? All right? We're not going to keep him for 50 years. But guess what 40 years would be a really cool number. So what? That. How did you do this season? And then the second season? 21 22 23. How about you do just the home games and we'll start to face somebody else in new Then you can walk away after 40 years. It just feels like they were done with them, and they moved him out. Yeah, that's unfortunate cap about a minute here just because that would be then two cases because back in the dark ages, you know, we had to go call Chicago Wolves. Hockey. Yeah, he was forced out. Back. Then he had a conflict with the old management. And then John McDonough came in and Of the first things he did was get Bobby Hall, the late Stan Mikita Tony Esposito back with the organization, and then he called Pat Foley and said, Hey, I don't know what went out with you and the old management. But I want you back here and so he's been there ever since. It's great. I think he and Enzo are amazing. But it's unfortunate that this will be it. David Caplan, NBC Sports Chicago and ESPN 1000 cap. "Buffers the name of the program reminder. Rousseau, radio four fifty, five today Kessler will join at about A. Fifteen this is Pat Kessler. That foreshadowing at something. Yeah. It's a new draft that I got today. This is path Kessler. That doesn't sound like Pat Kessler that is really that is Pat Kessler authentically this is Pat Kessler. The hell is that. That's tantalize. It's. Are we going to be discussing that perhaps I think we're going to be sampling the story that originated this. This is PAT, Kessler? So that isn't even he sounds like he's about seven. Forty years ago. So thirty, five, thirty, five. So he was a young sounding thirty five I guess or an all I don't know how you want to I. Guess It depends on how you WanNa look at it. I wonder when his voice dropped because this was. That nineteen eighty seven. And then you've got this one. This is pat. Kessler. Would've thought that must have been the nineties I if you started smoking. Yeah. So he sounds lower his voice sounds lower in which one would you say this is castle that's nineteen eighty. would. Have thought that? Lower in one, thousand, nine, hundred, eighty. But only because of kind of what he was saying and I think he was trying to be authoritative news guy in the one. Thousand Nine, hundred, eighty, one. This is Pat Kessler. Anyway. emailer Guy Let me get the name for the sake of giving improper credit. Eric wonders whether. I'm not a bit embarrassed and maybe even afraid to say it or perhaps hoping no one else will think of what he did. Are. You finally willing to admit. That, the wild would just start every game with a fight they would never lose. Would have beat someone up off the face off that I Vancouver Gold doesn't happen. They wouldn't have been able to shoot it. Stick to politics. Dan. that. Might be boxed WANNA know in this season, I might are starting to Fight Ellen one no fight I might be boxed. We were talking about the knuckleball desperation shot from center ice when the wild at score two goals late. Including one with nine seconds to go to cut the the lead to a single goal, the Vancouver lead. That ended up being kind of. A. Tricky. Maneuver that almost looked like it have gotten past the goaltender. Remember Jacques Lemaire very well. What a run here is Minnesota wild head coach. Who can forget the speaking of unexpected? The playoff run under Lemaire. The took us to the western conference. We would've won that if they didn't have cheating goaltender with pads, there were two big is true. They changed it because of the air Yeah. That was the guy remember. Well, we would've won that series. That, we would've won that series if Gary has to. Wear the more pared-down pats or if Sam Cassell were healthy either those things would have happened won that series and gotten to the finalist. No question about here in the twin cities so Game. Seven. Nineteen seventy-one Stanley Cup finals. I am because of stupid. TV rules. Well. When I say rules, I think implemented by the ownership of Chicago Blackhawks at the time. I can't watch the game because the game is at Chicago Stadium. It's been sold out ten times. Nevertheless. Whatever works was in charge then it was Arthur Edwards. Wouldn't put it on TV. Okay. And I am. Epoxy D-. To Chicago Blackhawks. At this point, I am as hard core hot I am. More a hockey pro hockey guy that I am a pro basketball guy at that point because pro basketball by then it only been in Chicago had returned four years earlier. I'm blackhawks through and through hell of a series. And it's game seven. Chicago Stadium. And the Blackhawks are crew and by the way, here's what I'm doing. I'm shooting hoops in in in in the driveway you know the old basket didn't have glass backboard still bitter about that. But that's what I'm doing. I'm just shooting hoops. Got The game set up on a an electric a plug in radio run the extension cord from the garage put it on a share I'm going to I'm going to shoot hoops Avenue I'm gonNA listen to the Blackhawks coronation they're up to nothing Late in the second period. There in camp again, you can say it's the dreaded two-goal lead. You could say nothing's over to old late in the second period and that's all true. But they're they're out playing the Canadians it looks like this is going to be there moment. and. Lamar. From Center ICE. Just. SORTA tosses in a shot just to get rid of the PUCK. From the redline. Back. Jacques Laperriere teammate. The biggest thing I remember was that Jacques Lemaire goal from the red line. Yeah. Who I still haven't forgotten it. And Somehow Tony Esposito doesn't see it. One of the great goaltenders of all time doesn't see it. And the excuse given after was that it was so hot. and. It was a hot day in Chicago and it was so warm at the stadium but they're like these vapors like a fog had had. Resonated, was resonating onto the ice frustrated it was. I guess. Getting in the way of good visibility preventing you from one side of the is seeing now I always find that a bit. Silly did you buy that as a kid but that's what I thought. That's what the Blackhawks are s bow wet is this part of your version as an adult to do point. Maybe it was the high do point that leads us on. Zito couldn't see it subconsciously you can't rule that out at all. and. The puck gets passed them. and. Suddenly, the whole place is stunned. Now, it feels like. What's going to happen next now remember this is seventy one that's two years after the cubs. Turned an eight and a half game lead in the in the central division at the time. To A. Nine and a half game deficit they they lost seventeen games in the standings in six and a half weeks, which is almost impossible to do and they choked. So in the minds of you think people here have trauma over various, you know failures or choking moments. That at that point was thick for Chicago fans to say. How is it to to one now you feel like it's a ballgame now it's tight it's a puck gang up and it was And ultimately the. Blackhawks never recovered. From that game and they end up losing In fact here the late Great Stan Mikita who was a center? For that team a guy. Lunardi knew very well. Lemaire again, they're claiming that it was a hard slapshot I guess it was. Stan Mikita says it must have dropped six inches. I was in the penalty box. On that end when he took the shot, I might have had a better view than Tony. Apparently Esposito was notorious for not being able to see the puck from long distances I don't remember that either bottom line is. There is such a thing as a precedent for now this wasn't at the.

Jordan yeah I guess you're right I think so I think these are new fairly new. really well yeah I mean there new as in the Michael Jordan one was with the United center right so that was sort of the the house that that Jordan build but the hawks statue didn't come for several years after that right but the ones that were doing the so you're saying sporting status I dentures that honor I think they're in fashion now was state statues at stadium. playing statue maker when you were a kid somebody would swing you around and then however you landed you had to stay an estimation I don't remember the. be on that I do that with a nap now. was that you make on the net yeah it's fun bill what would your step to I don't know. and what we know he asked us because he has an answer I don't think I'll ever get it you guys are definitely gonna get statues at some point I don't think I'm gonna write I don't even question that I I right okay well just know the quote the only question your schedule when his where it will be it has to be somewhere prominent in which alley. all right is enough. correct. at my expense I guess. I would say diabetes but Steve would even darker I didn't mean it that dark and hit me in the worst way that was not my intent. it is the one under that would be it's pretty great look into and giant I didn't believe how big it was a twelve feet tall each I thought about I don't know the dimensions I just know seeing chair it and Britney there it they it was huge yeah yep they are really cool. then it also when you think about it to look at a statue of one of your parents because you say to yourself well of course I knew them and love them but now for for generations people can come upon the statues and understand the significance that that person have though what a high honor that would be yeah but listening to John Williams show yesterday and just all the highlights of everybody dealing with Walter Payton even if they didn't meet him physically there were just these great moments he had such an impact on everyone would you put him in the category of people that even if you never knew or Matt you feel like you did gather certain people that you just because they're part of your lives for so long either through television or the radio or movies or just polit whatever music certainly you just go I never met the guy but I feel like I know him I never met Walter Payton but in in a weird kind of way he was part of the the the sound that was football I was growing up here right. what a great honor that it is a great honor I didn't know that your tell us was supposed to be on the east wind yeah that's how the story goes that he was supposed to be and was running late or something right and didn't get on the phone I don't know the whole story but Hey wow yeah that's included change history. very cool it's for I'm proud to be a Chicagoan and I hate the Packer yeah. Steve and I were talking before you came in what if the bears lose tomorrow night because tomorrow night is the start of the season there's there's there's extra added pressure totally it's your it's your your biggest rival the Green Bay Packers so what if they lose I mean they maintain that they usually they're the favorite though correct I believe they are the favorite yeah which is nice because we went a long time with that was not the story. your writers were all are you back out almost often underdogs I'm gonna wait and see how things go tomorrow. ical I need to see what happens tomorrow so are you guys that was saying this in the newsroom like opening day for baseball for me is Hugh Jess did you know it because I think that has to do with the weather the CCS opening day for the NFL this doesn't quite have the same feel for even this year Steve with all the extra hoopla I it's about the it's about the time of year I think you know it's because you dread the fact that the the start of the football season on the other now it's just not as exciting yeah it's not something coming forward yeah I just got stuff outside to do. you know you're not going to watch the game yeah I'm sure okay game but I'm not like you to opening day baby you know yeah I'm pretty excited about it and I have friends who have season tickets and Meg if you go to the game obviously it's more sure but to watch the first bears football game on your television is pretty exciting yeah. yeah is it weird though that it's on a Thursday would you would you have preferred the First Lady on a Sunday nor on normal football viewing time yeah I like Sunday I like a sound of a football game it's easy to map to. well the day at singer and I think it is bowling no the best of us napping sport a break and then more show stick Mister Graham's bill one in the region. "At Loyola medicine. They treat body and soul. Choi Blackhawks trillion the avalanche by a score of one to nothing. But yeah, this was this was an up in town. I twenty minutes in terms of both teams. Up and down the ice. Lots of action. Everyone got in on the action there and the Blackhawks certainly had their share of chances. I think now they're starting to see why Varlamov has been so good the last last four games or so he been good historically against the Blackhawks, but it's going to require some zone time. Some some traffic and pressure down slump. They get some real good looks in that first period. Storm hit the post on a wide open that Cain at a couple of good opportunities. You like the chances that the Blackhawks are generating and they actually didn't give a whole lot to the outright overall defensively for a much better job at what they needed to do. They just weren't able to capitalize. Now, you're in a position where you're down by one. The next goal is a big goal if that's can score. They can increase it in the Blackhawks will be fighting a little bit to try and get back into it. They've showed some good resiliency though in the last little while he'd be able to come back. But you gotta look at the start of this period read away finish off the penalty. Kill that doesn't have a whole lot of time left and then get back to business and make sure that they get the next goal kind of under the radar line. I thought that first period the played pretty well was. Denise him of line with Saad insecure. They were pretty active down there and caused their share chances to thought all the streamline had some opportunities ding. I thought Patrick Kane and tapes and cajole had some good opportunities. I like the the rotation that you know, Jeremy Colton was able to throw out there. They got a couple of minor penalties against them. Hopefully, they'll get a chance to have their Amanda advantage opportunity at some point here in the near future. But they did some good things. And I I did like what I saw from Anisimov along with the secure secure looks a little bit more comfortable each and every time that he's out there right now make some nice plays and hold onto the puck a little bit longer than he was before. Well, I'm trying to fuck you up for New Year's morning trying to make you feel better about sports in New York. Maybe this year will be good. Can't be too much worse. Right. Can't be too much worse. Although the Rangers are a rebuilding team. They're not going anywhere. I wonder making some noise. But you never know g Vegas team in their first year finals in the Stanley Cup. Who's to say the islanders can't do something like that? I don't know if it would really do much in New York if they do. Unfortunately for the islanders and the devils. Even though they have been better teams in the Rangers of late. They certainly don't have the cash at the Rangers. Have Rangers are the team in New York. No question about that hockey was so that's where we're at that is where we're at the music. Well, we don't have the Woodstock music and arts festival with all those great bands. Over three days of fun and music and nothing, but fun and music. Well. I'm still hot stuff. In addition to fund and music and Woodstock I think I love my brother dano handle that kind of stuff. That's where we're at on January. First two thousand nineteen. Yeah. You wanna watch some college football bowl games have which have been rendered because of this new system. Cleaned of meaningless. They're like, okay. They're they're fun win. It's good for your team. You can say a pride. Hey, look, my alma mater lookout. Well, they did. But again, you have college football kind of mired in Alabama. Clemson again. And honestly DEA really really care, Alabama, Clemson, South Carolina. College football. Okay. Student athletes. I think we've all given up. I hear the double still using the term student athletes, but for the most part we go. Yeah. Yeah. Right. Their students are right. Yeah. Let me get into the pros, and they don't care about school or studying or any of that stuff. Where that's at. That's what we got what we got. I wish I could be more positive trying to be positive. You know, you don't like a naysayer. Two thousand eighteen also saw the demise of some great great. Athletes, and you think about it. Now you start off with Willie McCovey and Willie McCovey notorious really for that one at bat that line drive, the Bobby Richardson, they was caught and to his deathbed thinking, oh Jesus. I just got an ad volunteer a little bit higher. Wow. Look what would have done. We would not championship. History would have been changed. Jim Taylor died at eighty three. And Jim Taylor was a great running back for the Green Bay Packers. Horning and Taylor. They compared. Taylor. Jim brown. He said Jim Brown. This is Vince Lombardi's, quote, we'll give you that leg to tackle. And then take it away from you. Jim Taylor will give it to you. And then ran it through your chest. That's pretty pretty accurate evaluation of them Willie. Mccovey was eight years old at five hundred twenty one home runs two hundred seventy average over that year. Those years he was called stretch. And he was six four. You know, big man six four. Yeah. And you look at Aaron judge and Giancarlo Stanton. Six seven six six six eight players in baseball now, and you go boy six four was a monster of a man. That's a shortstop. Then they'll be nowadays. Then you got the little guy. Stan mikita were stylish as they call them. He was the one that pioneered the curved hockey, stick Bobby Hall gets credit for that. But it was really Makita nine time. All-star Blackhawks one thousand nine hundred sixty won the Stanley Cup. He was five nine a little guy. And then of course, there were the greats in broadcasting and writing and Keith Jackson. Ooh, nellie. That was that was his thing. And he was eighty nine years old. And he's just the voice of college football. Keith Jackson was there. It was a big game. And of course, he he was the first voice of Monday night football replaced by Frank Gifford after a year, but he pioneered that then there was Roger Bannister. What does that name mean to you died at eighty eight years old? I four minute miler. Stuck in my friend Larkin who's a runner back in the day. And we're talking about four minute miles and. Pete ran marathons random in four hours to me anybody who finishes a marathon. This is a one one area where participation trophies means something because to finish a twenty six point two mile run. He's a big accomplishment just to finish it just to run in New York City marathon, he ran into them. Now, he's regret that I never did that I was a distance runner for a while. But I was ten K that was about as far as I would run. But you know, you were clocking. Over time eight minute miles. I seem to remember we've ransom seven-minute miles. We thought man that's moving and it is. But you think about a four minute mile and we've improved on that a little bit. But not a lot in all those years. You know, going back to the fifties. Now, also lost. Tony cloninger. Who hit two grand slams in one game? And he was a pitcher. And of course, the New York player that we lost. It was really beloved was Legrand. Laurent's rusty Staub who died very very young. You know, it was just a great player and a great humanitarian and a great guy and Oscar gamble. I think Oscar gamble remembered mainly in New York for the hair. Of course, and George Steinbrenner where the Yankees, you can't have hair like that anymore. "So when I was recalled recall for three weeks enough that I got to make, you know about ten thousand dollars, which was I was unbelievable. Bob, my momma TV and some and some diamond earrings. I was so excited. I thought it was the best thing because I was making twenty two thousand five hundred miners. But after one of the practices I'm exhausted first of all the ISIS brutal that the old Chicago Stadium and about to come off the ice. Because coaches are done, everybody's done. I'm picking up the pox and up comes the stairs. There's twenty four steps behind both nets at the old Chicago Stadium. And I hear this. And I'm thinking, oh, man, not more like I'm done. STAN mikita came up in a sweat suit and gloves, and he had his stick on any came up. And he was out of like he was not like the alumni of today. STAN wasn't around all the time. So the great STAN mikita was forty five years old at the time, and I was I just turned twenty one and he comes up and I'm and I take, I take off my glove and I shake his hand like STAN Makita. So he says, so, hey, would you mind if I shoot some pucks on? Well, now I'm now so where where I'll go around in circles where I really thought that I'd never make it STAN Makita stood there for probably twenty minutes and picked me apart. I couldn't stop. He's a forty five year. Old guy hadn't played for, I think it was four years and just wanted to shoot pucks and I couldn't stop him. I'm thinking, holy smokes. Like, how am I supposed to play in this league? And I know he's a great player, but come on, you know? And I was so frustrated. I broke my stick. Over the crossbar. I was so mad and there's, there's my temper. I had a little bit of a temper and while he was out there, yeah, we finished the session. I, that was it. I mean, I think he felt bad because I mean he he was just having fun and he dropped his shoulder and looked like he was going right and go left, go like that he'd go, hi glove. He'd go there and go through my legs. I'm like, this is unbelievable. Like what he's one of the greatest players play. It'd be like Michael Jordan, probably picking up a basketball and and dancing anybody, but but it wasn't for me. It was different. It was a didn't feel very confident after that. So what did you do that? That the miners right after I got sent right, right back down and and they told me actually, they said you've got a lot of work to do. I'm like, you're, you're your turn right. I knew it like usually when somebody said that to me, I throw that middle finger. I'll be right back here. But this time I was like, I sure do. And I went down to the minors and I, I worked in a different fashion than I did before natural. I had to work. I'm curious what a goal when you say you worked at? There's no doubt my mind you worked at does a goalie do well to work at figured out. I wasn't as square to the shooter's. I thought I was. I was a bit of a cheater, so you get you get. That's why when I can analyze, let's say, Jake, as an example there, there's, you know, there's a move here there where every goalie goes through it, where you get flat on the line instead of square. So you know, let's say that you favor a left hand shot going down your right side and you can somehow you get your whole body position, get nice and square so that that that player, if you don't even move, he's not going to score with you. Show the noth- patients to not move before that puck is office stick. He probably won't score anyway. So you can stand there if you're right, but there's sometimes we're Jake on the on. His left side gets a little flat with his right skate, and I was that way and that's why I can recognize it when he has a little bit of an issue with it, and. And so, and when that happens and STAN mikita shooting or Al seek or Dennis. Varta Bernie footwork. Oh, or or they're going to score and it's not even close like, and you think you've got them and it's not even close. And so that's what I had to work on..

Okay. I've heard about him. He got a pretty good night. Carolina started some guy named Taylor Hickey. I don't know who that is, but he threw hundred twenty one yards. The whole list of leaders is made up of guys who at best will be playing renewable two years. So the Boston Red Sox are on pace to win at least one hundred ten games and they recently completed a four-game sweep of the hated Yankees. Will they ever lose again, Charlotte. I don't know what they're beating people drums right now, but they're Penn is pretty average, but it doesn't matter because they're hitting nail out of all the ale. East race is just about over. Are there any other divisional races that you've had your eye on the the fact. The Oakland as are in contention because I have absolutely no idea how they're doing. It plus are very, very good baseball team. And now they're in the the playoff hunt for sure. And once again, the move of the Houston Astros the American League has changed everything because the Houston Astros came to the American League just as they were getting really good sad news from the hockey world. Charlie, Chicago Blackhawks great. STAN mikita died Tuesday at the age of seventy eight. Do you have any good STAN mikita stories for us? Not particularly just remember STAN makida as being overshadowed on all Black Hawk teams by Bobby Hall because Bobby Hall had the big slapshot in the blonde hair, and he was the matinee idol. Kinda guy staying Makita was the all time work loss. And STAN mikita is now the all time leading scorer for the Blackhawks, including Bobby Hall with whom he laid he, he one lady being twice. He was tough without being dirty. He was everything the nineteen sixties and nineteen seventies NHL was all. So we have what I like to call a Florida man story. In this week's list, there was a south Florida Gulf pro named Tom Fleetwood who was surprised to see a six-figure direct deposit. His Wells Fargo account last Friday until he realized that the PJ's European tour had accidentally paid out prize money from the twelfth place finisher at the British Open his name Tommy Fleetwood. What are the off the American Tom Fleetwood who didn't win one hundred twenty thousand pounds at the reason for Chopin has handled it pretty well. I think look in his Bank account and their one hundred fifty, four thousand dollars in it a right above fourteen dollar transaction. He made it WalMart, and he said, I'm a pretty laid back guy. This is told to golf dot com. Most people would be jumping up and down. I was like met. Yeah. I mean, it has to be a mistake. I mean, you have to, you have to look at that amount and say something screwed up. Actually. No, you have to look at amount. And say, I wanna bins right now. Quick rushed to the store. I just remember the old monopoly card Bank error on your favorite, collect under dollars. Thank you and your favorite? Collect hundred and fifty thousand dollars PGA tour and your favorite. That's right. So finally, Charlie and I don't know how you guys miss this last week, but the arena Football League's Washington valor, when the twenty eighteen AFL title. So I'm assuming the valor must have been great during the regular season, right. Hey, first of all, in arena, football, anything is possible including the two and ten Washington valor going all the way through the playoffs and winning the arena football league title largely because they're only four arena football teams left, Garret..

He died last Rican seventy eight earlier this week at age seventy eight, huge icon to the black arts community got the statue there. He had a fallen out, like a lot of players did with the Blackhawks in the eighties, and they kinda brought him brought him back into the fold. After old man words died. No, it was good. He's well head of mind to for the record, but also you didn't even get to see him play on the end of his career. I should actually, I, he thrived when in the sixties he actually did play till I believe eighty. So I, I did see him in the asset that his career, but certainly not when he was winning MVP's. So when when desktop and as far as any history in play. That I never got a chance to see. I usually turn to like the Bob McKenzie's in and the older guys chime in and from what they've said he was, he was like the triple threat so to speak. He had personality and it was funny, great with the media, he was unbelievable player. And I mean, just the winner. So a tough day for the hockey world and know these are the guys that paved the way. But if you're a hockey fan, you have to see that one. As the first time we we really got Gretzky's point of view on why he was traded. And yes, he in fact, he did want to be the highest paid player in the NHL just wouldn't come up and say thirty years ago, but he didn't start memory..
