One of the Biggest Tekken Tournaments of All Time Never Paid Anyone

"Well over a year ago in March of two, thousand and nineteen, a series of East sports events were held in Khobar Saudi, Arabia including. The True Gaming Tekken invitational this single tournament featured a prize of one hundred, ten thousand dollars USD, which was then the single largest prize pool in taking history for a little context, the two thousand eighteen technical tour finals at a prize pool of Twenty Five K. and Evokes Tekken Prize. Pools are even lower than that and heavy hitters from around the world came to participate. In this thing, I'm talking to likes of Don's knee Chanel. Roma. Are Slash you get the picture from a production standpoint the true gaming tech invitational grave they had an awesome stage set up the stream quality was good. The had commentator and analyst desk great camerawork was clean and in terms of the actual game play competitively, the tournament was great i. mean we saw some of the best players of all time from all around the world give us some unforgettable moments. But after all that confetti was cleaned up after the stage was dismantled in after the community's attention shifted to other events there remained one big problem. Apparently nobody paid. Now this all hit the public's attention in a big way only recently when tech master provident fighting game player and one of the invitees to the gaming tech invitational tweeted about not receiving his prize money from a different event that was organized by the same people. Now, as far as the true gaming tech invitational goes the one with one hundred, Thousand Dollar Prize Pool I talked to tech and master about it, and he said that communication between the players who are owed money in the company who produced the event true gaming hasn't exactly been productive when it comes to when how or infant if they'll get their prize after one month. A number to contact with and every time the new right it's. Like on the process of giving you the process guys. we'd be coming back to you on. Data to and every time like the guy is saying, he did not receive any funding for the first. He's promised to receive it a next month. Don't want everytime delays rate rate until. One year happened instead even. One year under half extra. Here's the thing though true gaming say that they were hired just to produce the event and that the prize money has nothing to do with them at all I managed to get in contact with a guy named a Med almost STAFA. Who is the head of business development at true gaming and he says that the true gaming tech invitatinal took place within a larger event called. Gamers con. He told me that the owner operator of that event, a company called. Tail Events Exhibitions Management Co is responsible for the prize money we correspond over email about it and let me read to you what he told me quote true gaming's role in the event was to operate the competitions and gaming centered activities that have relied on our gaming industry knowledge and know-how. Our team has been contacted by the winners and his forwarded their grievances to k all A and have shared all contact information directly Takeo so that there is a direct. Line of communication and no delay caused by layered communications in the later email he also told me quote we've tried to finalize this matter on numerous occasions. We were even under the impression that it was going to conclude a sooner time and we are completely taken aback by how all have. Let this drag on for so long and quote worth noting here that shortly after I got in contact with gaming, they released a public statement about the matter that was. Very much in line with what they told me privately as far as this K- All events exhibitions management company goes that's where the trail goes a little cold for me I tried calling them with a number on their website and for me it didn't work I tried tweeting out I've emailed them and I tried to use a contact form on their website that is broken apparently so far as of the filming of this video I haven't heard anything back from them. Hubbert. Ladies Tom. Blood I can mean a look at a High Horse Shukran your call cannot be completed as dialed. Please make sure you enter the correct number. It's probably also worth noting here that there were a bunch of other invitational tournaments that took place on the same weekend within this gamers con that we're all organized by true gaming there was rocket league invitational. There was a beep invitation on their Mash Bros invitation and like I said, they were all organized by true gaming who seem to be a company who do everything from eastport centric youtube videos to mainstream game reviews to event production. Now, let's just back up for a quick second. Because there are other entities involved in this issue beyond just the players true gaming and this K- All events and Exhibitions Management Company, and I'm talking about agencies for the Saudi Arabian government see according to Tech and master about six months after the event when it became clear that they weren't going to get their prize money anytime soon, a lot of deep participants in the gaming, Tech. Invitational. Got Together an organized to try to figure out what their next steps they went to a guy who goes by the tag burke came and he contacted to Saudi Arabian government agencies namely, the General Entertainment Authority in Saudi Arabia and more pointedly. The Saudi Arabian Federation for Electric Intellectual Sports see the true gaming invitational had to be sanctioned by these bodies in order to put on their event in the first place and as to who this Berkane guy is. He is a Saudi Arabian eastport seen community leader and individual player manager who has served as a sort of go between between the players, the T os, and the government agencies that oversee East sports in Saudi Arabia and he told me that he's been in contact with those government agencies and they are actively investigating this situation. As we speak I have conducted the federation on behalf of some of the players and they. Did investigate the issue and I believe they have officially contacted all the parties involved in this case on soon, they would return resolve at least from where I'm sitting it's not going to be easy to figure out who's actually on the hook for this money according to Tech Master Burt. CAIN and some other folks I spoke to nobody actually signed any kind of contract or documentation that stipulated how when or I guess technically even if they would get paid out this prize money according to Burke Cain East sports in Saudi Arabia is still very much in a phase where contracts are not the standard sports itself and Saudi is still new. and. It started based on community efforts where almost everything was based on trust. That moved along when he sports stuff to grow on many companies started to throw big huge ovens. Everyone trusts what's being advertised after all the low in Saudi will hold you accountable for what you advertise. Let's say trust is what? being practiced here in Saudi I do believe that should change and perhaps tap. Last year will rise the awareness in the community

Social Distancing in Summer

"Has the summer heats up. People all over the country are considering now. How much risk they are willing to take as they venture outside. Some are thinking about reuniting with friends and family for the first time. Others are trying to decide whether or not to take a road trip. What about physically distanced backyard barbecue? Just. How risky is it to make this summer? Feel like well summer. It is important to understand what the likelihood of contracting the corona virus is and transmitting it. So that you can make the right decisions for yourself and for your family. I'm Dr Sanjay. Gupta CNN's chief medical correspondent. And this is corona, vice, fact versus fiction. So I have an eleven at neely eleven and thirteen year olds, and so the conversations were having now are about what else summa looks like. That's Aaron Judge, Professor, at UMASS DARTMOUTH and CNN contributor since his blog post about avoiding situations with a high risk of infection went viral. He's become a resource for many people. Some does look a little bit different, and there's been a lot of tears in this house over the last eight weeks, but We're trying to gain normalcy for our children as much as we can. The possibility of having a normal summer is not a lot of our minds. So I asked Erin about some of the questions. I've been hearing from you. Starting with pools is it safe to take a dip properly maintain to pull. Water will not be a source of spread of the virus. The chlorine that's in its will inactivate virus fairly quickly and the level of dilution that would happen in a pool or notional or lodge freshwater body would not lead to enough virus to establish an infection. But when you do this, you need to just make sure that we're maintaining an appropriate physical distance and create a little bit of extra space I. Don't know if you or your family members have been doing any hiking or going for long walks around your neighborhood. What precautions do do you think people should take if they just WANNA go for a walk or a hike? So, we have as a family, we each have three mosques We have a better quality one if we get into grocery stores or anywhere. We know there's going to be a lot of people. We have one win. We're just going to do a show. Than we have out general sort of mosque, which is a neck data that we use any time we go hiking or around the neighborhoods where we know that we are able to social distance the vast majority of time, but there are some times where the path my narrow and. while. The brief encounter is not as risky as the longer one. It's not no risk and you don't know the risk factors of the person that is walking past you and I tend to take mosques a little bit more altruistically. It is about me wearing them to protect us, and so when we get in that situation, we just literally pull up gate of mosques over our face. We do that about fifty feet out from the person or people. People so they can see what we're doing. And then we just run a little bit of a wider above as we possibly can. Games like soccer or basketball, would you? Would you be okay? People playing those? Yeah, I'm eat soccer coach and I really want to get my teams out on the fields, but not playing scrimmages yet were not sure enough especially with children about their role in infection and transmission, so no, I'm not yet there for. Those sports, but as long as it doesn't bring you in face to face contact. I think the the risk is low. A baseball of Frisbee is not right up there where I'm spending my anxiety. What about a road trip this summer for family? They want to go on a road trip and stay in either a hotel or an AIRBNB. Something like that. If it's your own family, I'm not to consent. Call head to the hotel. Will the YOU'RE GONNA? Stay at ask what they cleaning protocols are end what this Stafa wearing while they cleaning the room and if that comes into line with what your risk is for your. Your family then I would proceed a medium sized gathering like a birthday party or a wedding ceremony. Would you be okay with that? Weddings done outsides with appropriate spacing. Absolutely it can be done a birthday party again in a backyard outside can be done. I. Just encourage people to bring their own chairs while it's nice to stand up in chat, we find. People stopped to move closer and closer the more comfortable they feel, and if you've got a chair, you don't drift and that just maintains the safety while keeping the social aspect I. I really love your your practicality because you are thinking exactly how people probably behave. Disneyworld they're planning on opening up in July. What do you think about amusement parks? Yes, so amusement parks I mean if they they can institutionalize cleaning and. Keeping. Systems like lines organized better than almost anyone. We know they're in the business of doing that. But when we're bringing a lot of people together, we know the risks come up. My major concern comes with the rides that put people into slipstream. I don't know enough about aerodynamics and transmission on Roller coasters, but I can only imagine from being on them in the past that someone that screaming in front of you. Whatever's coming out of them as coming directly onto you in pretty intense. For a few minutes.

"But it does feel like Kofi overcame Vince to then have a match that fans haven't been at a lot of time to think about it's just Wilco fee when the title. But it's not about Kofi Brian. And I think you want a top three top four match at wrestlemainia for championship should be not just about a challenger winning a title, but it should be. They would win that title from. And there should be more there. It is a short amount of time to get there and really invest people in that personal aspect of Bruce. Yeah. The story here is the is the rise of the African American Kofi Kingston against the racist. And part of it's on purpose and a ton of it is just real simple as a ton of. What's there that they don't even re-? I don't think I don't think this man realizes and w creative realizes that. They put him in that position. And now and now you see biggie doing great internet promo about it. Where owning into all what I've talked about a long during this thing. And and so you have that. That's that's the story and Dan. Uh-huh. Brian's just sitting there as this kind of sour. Fun killer champion, and and also a great champion wins all the time. And no this isn't about the two of them. It's about it's about, you You know. know, about Kofi Kingston and people have caller versus and it's going to be the whole the whole diverse of your universe singing coup by getting them in the match. I think and. And I'm just guessing I haven't been just from the way they were showing people backstage on smackdown. But yet it's not about it's not really about Daniel, Bryan. And the question would be is this story a better way to get Kofi Kingston over or what have been bad or just to have Kofi Kingston be like any like a contender that that rises from the tag team attacting standard-bearer that comes out as a singles and and challenges for the title and standing Brian and either wins or loses. But does that. I hate this story for so many reasons. And part of it as that I can see it in the performance face. I could see Kofi Kingston space on when he's being talked to that. There's a part of him that the act is not an act that he's disgusted, and and there's reasons there's reasons to when when it just by coincidence, Stafa Lee who's out there is the new guy getting pinned and Kofi Kingston facing gauntlet of like guys and it's done at twice. I mean, that's just. Whether it's on purpose or not it's worse. It's not on purpose and. But yeah, I mean, I don't think there's any I think that like, but you take all that out of it. And they could have played this that way and taking all that out told the exact same story without without the Jim crow all the Jim crow aspects of it, and you will notice that that nobody any pancakes the other night. Tuesday night. But they could have told that story without any of this horrible bigoted subtext to it. These you have to work twice as hard. It. Isn't it isn't just somebody who's not man FAM? That's not what that that's not. It's it's dog whistle stuff. And and so they could have had a better one. And that would have been better than just Kofi Kingston coming out of the tactics ranks to to face Daniel, Bryan. He would have been you know, he would have been a good contender. But that's all. And so that's that's part of it. But yeah, I I don't know. I'm I don't I don't think it's big flaw that we've got a week. You know, it's going to be about WW trying to stop Kofi when he gets the title shot, and I got I really do hope it's not that he gets the title shot five minutes before the five minutes before the pre game at wrestlemania. But it's that he gets that title shot..

"Like like like, you said one of those moments only one match away from something big happening and this situation presented itself. And not that you need to remind anybody, but you know, all happened organically, and I think that's the the special thing about it. It wasn't forced it just happened and the crowd latched onto it. And it was like, oh, yeah. Man. This. Kofi is damn good in reminded them. But you reminded them, you know. Yeah. For sure like I said, man, it's like you were kind of looting to as. Well. It's it's always it, it sucks. The way that the situation kinda came about especially with Stafa Li like I feel like he's been doing such an amazing job kind of being thrust into the limelight. And just he's so talented like you like to see when young talent is is is doing things, and they're actually like, you know, being put into a prominent role on television. And the fact that he ended up getting hurt is is the worst, you know? So but by the same token, like you don't know like when you're gonna be asked to step up and fill that role. So for me like, obviously I wanted to kill it and not get out of the park, regardless. But by the same token, and I said, it's an interview that we did on on dot com. But like I didn't wanna let him down then. Because like, I know how it feels to, you know, have a huge moment or a priest potential moment. And then have it kinda taken away. You know? Elimination. I mean, I was going to mention that. Well, he did he did mention it in the previous weeks. Just so you know, he did bring it up it was kind of ragging about it. So I'm waiting for like a or like, I mean like jumping. Well. Dr Tom like, how Dr Tom prepared you for this hour Broadway, twelve hours previous Adam kind of prepared you for this moment. What was it like seven or eight years previous it might have even been long? Nine ten years. Yeah. Maybe even ten I was gonna say 'cause was two thousand nine two thousand nine my job. Yeah. But and that was the worst for me, especially like, I like I spent the whole like months thinking about different crazy things to be able to do. And you know, I found out that day that I think it would either dean or like micros like, oh, you're going to be coming down. The the island edge is gonna take you under the stairs. And he's going to take your spot and as a performer like business business. You know what I'm saying? I'm not gonna like complain about it. But inside I was like it pretty bad. And then you know, what the worst part was was that when everyone was talking about the Mets like I still had to either. So I'm listening to everybody talk about like, okay, we're going to do this and do that in the match, and you know, this. You know, I it has nothing to do with me. Like, I'm not even gonna make the pop you know, what I'm saying. So. Just to go back and mentioned we stop again. I like, I know how feels to have to like sit on the sideline and watch as a spot that is supposed to be yours is taken. So like, I didn't you know? Like part of me was just like I knew that Mustafa would have killed it in this position. So now, I I have to kill it. You know what I'm saying? I can't allow for it to be a letdown that I was putting minutes position. So I, you know, I just have to like seize the moment..

Oh, that's legit. Cry. He's one of my mentors on my eyes. When it comes down to like just highly as I think of him just having a basketball player as a person legit legit person, caring person one best people I've met. So like when it comes down to you almost don't feel worthy because it's like this, dude. If I to me like a superhero, Tom I'm saying so fortunate enough to have that bond and see them win championships. And when he's as big as moments or whatever else, he you know, when we're in Cleveland last year and stuff like that you wanna championship. I call him by your where you at like, you know, what I'm saying. So that that's something. You don't really get them any bonds with people, especially in this type of people are hating or whatever out so that's all that genuine Canadians lesson. So that was that was awesome. Who's your best friend in the league? Besides him fast. May I got I've been fortunate enough to have some pretty good bonds of people on the team on pretty tight with Dame CJ mo- heartless. She. She. That's a debris spill right in a middle of the roadway. Parkway north is kind of slow up to one forty four stalls been cleared, but traffic is still pretty Robert nine as delays heading south into a Strickland road area. You've got delays coming back from Elton Adelphia road with a crash now moved off to the shoulder the roadway and the traffic on the New Jersey turnpike moving along pretty well on the car the truck lanes until you get down towards the gospels bridges slows down from just before that point right down to Carter Ed slowdowns about the car and the truck lanes. So the Parkway looks like a better ride to that same stretch of relieving New Jersey across parts and very quiet so far Tom rivers, New Jersey traffic, north Christina Stafa, New Jersey traffic south. So there's a long line of slow moving cars moving southbound is the area fifty five northbound moving into fifty five is also all jammed up now to ninety five north and south bend into forty-two bumper to bumper delays. You definitely need to allow yourself a lot of extra time. If you're going to be coming into this area also entering the state with the Walt Whitman that span, unfortunately is right now well under the speed limit as a result of this crash. "And when they talk about him what they focus on is him being HR hem attacking our truth from behind him attacking the Stafa Ali him giving a low blow to HA styles. Those are the flashpoints of why we don't like Daniel, Bryan. But I think because you don't you really don't want to be out there saying that Daniel Bryan's message is bad. You're concerned you really concerned that that's what they're trying to do. And I don't think what that's what they're trying to do. I think the the closest and I'll give another analogy for Daniel by doing here. And I think a lot of it is like Siham punk. I don't think that'd be with the straight edge stuff. When when would see 'em punk was a straight edge. He'll was tried to tell people that being straight edge as bad. I don't think that was part of their message. Even if you could do that, theoretically, you could say, oh, you know, look at the sky he doesn't drink alcohol. What kind of you know? Self. Self-obsessed, you know, puritanical jerk doesn't drink alcohol like have some fun have a beer idiot. You know that they that they could take that tone. But that wasn't the tone the tone was the sky is arrogant the sky is is is conceded. The sky is is dangerous because of his self righteousness, and it happens to come from the straight edge thing. But the straight edge thing, isn't what isn't what makes him a jerk. He's a jerk. And the straight edge is part of what makes him that way. And that to me is is the same thing they're doing with Daniel, Bryan. I don't think they were vilifying straight out. I don't think they're vilifying Daniel Bryan's beliefs, and they they have done that sort of stuff in the past. Like when they emphasize like the vegan stuff before they were trying to ridicule him for being a vegan. But I don't think that's what the story line is. I don't think that'd be told them that told them any of this. I don't think any of it's coming from a point of let's ridicule environmentalists. I think the point is Daniel by thought that. This was a good way to to give a believable reason for a guy that we've loved to become so angry, and so bitter. It's worked pretty well. "And you said you sort of wanted to be an inspiration. What specific. Typically do on have men and women to get from it from your story. Well, I've learned a lot of lessons politically one is he never ever give up you may lose a battle. But you haven't lost the war many of the legislative proposals that I had turned into law took years to pass that you don't need to wait your turn in line, which is something frankly, I did. And I think many of the women to they're showing you don't have to wait your turn in line. And actually, you just mentioned sexual abuse. I think you also as an adult experienced sexual harassment you restore for an offensive Stafa pressed himself on you. Tell me what happened, and how you view that in the, you know, the eternal women's fight against this. So sexual harassment has been plaguing congress for a very long time. I was sexually harassed when I was a staffer by the chief of staff who pushed me up against the wall kissed me stuck his tongue down my mouth. I have recalled I was stunned. And I told that story because I wanted women to come forward in. Congress and tell me their stories and their stories were bone chilling in some respects, the the parent power that meant think that they can assert on staffers on the hill. And so we wanted to change that. So I worked with a very conservative colleague from Alabama Bradley Byrne, and we introduced this me too congress act which has passed the house is in the Senate now in it holds members accountable. They pay the settlement not the taxpayers victims are now going to be protected by counsel as well. So we're trying to change the climate in congress, and then we need to change the climate and the rest of the federal government, and perhaps that's helped with this massive women's wave this going to congress. I sure hope so congresswoman thank you very much. Indeed for joining us all throw undaunted. Support for almond poor comes from our friends at rocket mortgage by Quicken Loans. "Nate lamb it out of the equation who supported us impressing. You're right now. I gotta take those guys out because are gathering all the attention right upright. Well, it's funny because I did I did a piece earlier this week to my my top buffs. And there was those three. Then I say, here's my top busty non. That's right. Yeah. But I I think that new Stafa Johnston's been one of the most bus so far this season. I think he's played really. Well. Katie Nixon this played really well at different times. But I might have to go Mustafa. I mean, just the way he's been disruptive on the defensive lines. Impressive to me. That's pretty good Neil. Yeah. I'd agree with with Brian there. Moustapha Johnson has has I think his fourth on the team in tackles. He's got a couple of quarterback sacks. And he's been really active and unite have talked about this before from one of the coaches said he has quick twitch muscles. And and you don't hear that about events have lineman. But he's really active. He gets around. He's been a disruptive force. He's had a hand in two turnovers. He's tip. One resulted interception. Has recovered a fumble that led to another touchdown on. So I liked the way he's playing up there. I think there are several guys on the defense that have been have been very active and making plays del. Rick Abrams is another one that I think has been out there and and done some things debut on Taylor's is starting to catch on and do some good things there. So I think there are a lot of guys on this team that have playmaking abilities. I guess the this point Brian the question we still have about the buffalo is the offensive line. Are there is that going to develop where they can count on that game and it came out? And I think that's probably the biggest question for. Sure. Mike MacIntyre mentioned this week. We're not going to see a lot of defensive lines that Nebraska line Friday. Big guys nine guys, you rotate in and out. There's a couple teams coming up that'll have something like that USC in Washington. But I think over the next few weeks you.

"And then we, we moved away from it. You Austrian economics, I believe was was in vogue at one point, and then you know, became out of vogue, is it as simple as hey. The powers that be wanted specialize money for their own controller. These ideas just sort of lose their intellectual muster at the time or how would you serve Tracy, the evolution of of a wide thing smell in favor or the the reason I think was war, but the main main catalyst for almost all of it was World War One that I mean, if you if you go back in history and and look at what happened there, you know, this was a really minor conflict. It was Serbian separatists like murdering the heir to the Austro-Hungarian empire somehow that became like this giant war that like bankrupted pretty much every country in Europe and like America had to get involved in all all, like all sorts of things happen as a result of World War One that were completely unexpected at the time that the catalyzing events happen, which was, you know, Serbian separatists murdering the air to their Austro-Hungarian empire. I mean, it should. Been minor conflict that lasted six months. And if you look at the stories at the time and study the history, a lot of people expected there. Okay. Well, it's a small complex, you know, it'll be over six months and then will will move on these tiny wars happen here and there and it'll be done. But what happened with World War One was that governments started using central banking and central banking allowed. They were nominally on the gold standard, but utilizing central banking Fiat money. They were able to print their way to funding the war, every war before that pretty much would either. You know, it would be like the US civil war where both sides would print money basically, or a government would run out of money, and then they would have to sue for peace. And the latter way is much better because you don't absolutely destroy everybody in your country, but total war. Is what the money has more or less brought because now government is in control of money and they can print as much as they want and by printing more and more, you can conquer your essentially confiscating the wealth of the entire nation, right? Whereas before it used to be whatever hacks as you collected, that's all you can spend, and then you would try to borrow against future tax revenue or something like that. But the lenders would be like, well, you've already borrowed this much. We're not gonna lend you anymore and so on. That's how wars would end. But World War One was really, really interesting in the sense that every government what had a central Bank so they they were able to print more and more in the war escalating for that reason. It was because all of these other one side would basically be like, okay, we're, we're just going all in everyone's, okay. Well, we don't wanna lose. So we're, we're, we're, we're going all in and that that led to like complete and utter destruction of like every everybody that continued with. World War Two and and we're in the state were, you know, whenever you have words, total warned now, it's like it's it's not just government against government or army against army. It's entire countries against entire countries very, literally speaking because you, you can. The government can take away all of the money and wealth from the populace and enforce that you use that for their war effort in, you know, when both sides escalate on you have a lot of hubris or pride Stafa wrapped around all that. Of course, they're gonna keep spending on. So it's a utterly and completely destroyed. So for me that that's when it really started, that's that's when like the, you know, like the attraction of yacht was really made real to a lot of governments is is with war, and it's kind of a sad commentary. But war is the reason why we're officle. Pandered because governments want the right to continue spending. It's kind of like a nuclear weapon. Basically..
