Can’t get Taylor Swift tickets? See all of Swift’s eras on display at this costume exhibit
"Olive Taylor Swift's eras are on display in a costume exhibit in New York. Swift's era's tour is selling out stadiums around the country. I promise that you'll never find another like me. For anyone needing their Taylor Swift fix and don't have a ticket. The second floor of the museum of arts and design features dozens of swift costumes and objects. Tim Rogers is museum director. Two of the iconic costumes in this exhibition are from the shake it off video. We have the ballerina costume and we also have the cheerleader costume. The centerpiece is a red wedding dress swift war in a 2021 video. Another of her costumes is very heavy. The bejeweled costume and while I can't tell you exactly how much it weighs, I can tell you that when we were putting it on the mannequins, it took more than one person. Greta Meyers is a swiftie and a fashion student. I know I'll be okay if Taylor Swift has gone through it. The goal of the exhibit to explore how Taylor Swift uses clothing and props to tell stories like a vocabulary. I'm Ed Donahue

I think Inter Miami's social media followers have gone up by a million in just a few hours somebody here at DC United told me they sold 4 ,000 tickets for the DC United Miami game in Miami in July here at Audi Field so he's going to have an impact and listen if you're not a soccer fan but you're a sport fan and we appreciate that in America one of the world's greatest ever to play his sport is coming to to be a part of our American sports landscape and I think that's special Dave Johnson voice of DC United WTOP senior sports director emeritus joining us here to talk about Lionel Messi coming to the United States it's one way to look at it if you're not that familiar with soccer or sports is if LeBron James suddenly announced that he was going to go play in Europe that's the kind of magnitude that we're talking about here with this decision WTOP

A's, Nevada leaders reach tentative ballpark agreement
"Republican Nevada governor Joe lombardo announced Wednesday a tentative agreement with the Oakland athletics and legislative leaders for a stadium funding plan after weeks of negotiations over how much the state will contribute to a $1.5 billion Las Vegas ballpark, according to a joint statement. The tentative agreement includes a funding bill, which will be introduced in the Nevada legislature in the coming days, giving lawmakers less than two weeks to consider it before the session ends. The threat of a special legislative session looms if lawmakers can't agree on the terms by June 5th. I'm get cool.

And of course when they had the bash brothers and all the steroids and all the fun stuff. But honestly, we need to talk about the fact that Oakland just has absolutely nothing left. "Alrighty, and we are back. Thanks for sticking with us. Hope you enjoyed the stadia chat. We're going to move on to PSVR two. So Sony actually finally revealed the headset, and it looks a bit like the original PSVR. The controller is they actually added some white casing on the outside, they look a lot more like a PS5 controller than the original reveal look like. You have the four cameras in the front, the thing is generally smaller. They said it's lighter. It definitely looks a lot more sleek than the original PSVR headset. One of the things that I really loved that they sort of highlighted in this announcement was that they worked on making sure that there is ventilation between your face where it connects to your face that the rubber I can't even think of the word good job. Where the basically the interface connects to your face and then that space in between the lenses on the first PSVR and a lot of other initial VR headsets, 2016, 2018, there was no airflow in there. So as soon as you put it on, no matter if it's hot or cold outside, those lenses fogged. It's like walking out of a cold house into the hot weather or vice versa. It's the same deal. That took forever to get solved on several headsets, and even like the quest two did that a little better at launch, but it took until a year or so later when we got some third party redesigns of the facial interface to finally fix that. So it's nice to see them put that in there from the get go. Whereas I think the most disappointing thing from this picture or the pictures that we have of it is that that cable is most definitely secured in that headset and it is not being replaced because I know a lot of the early rumors were that basically this would be a connectable cable like a USB Type-C port or something like that. And you'd be able to unplug it and plug like a wireless modular or something in there. So I don't know. Based on what we see here, I'm pretty sure that dream's dead..

And that barely noticed the difference on a cheap Chromebook. Right, yeah. The size of the display absolutely will change your perception on that. But I don't know. What was stadia, I guess? Yeah, I wouldn't recommend buying into stadia and waiting for the next Assassin's Creed game because that's really the only triple-A title you're guaranteed to get. Well, it's ubisoft. You soft is the only company that is really kind of put their weight behind stadium because, well, they have enough manpower and enough money and enough studios to say, yeah, just plop out a stadia port and here, here's far cry 6. You know, he runs at 30 frames a second. Like the Xbox One and PS4 versions, but like, hey, we're on stadia, like push it. Maybe we'll do a 60 FPS patch leader. Yeah, exactly. That's where Google comes in. They'll look and see how many people bought it. If enough people want it, then they can go to ubisoft and say, hey, if you like this, yeah. They're done. They said, we're done. But ubisoft ubisoft are on their own. They're just pushing games. And now Google is just like, okay, developers, because last year, they said, hey, they changed their revenue stream for developers and let them get a bit more. But other than that, it's just like, hey, we'll support you if you want, but we're not. We're not investing any more money into stadia. Right. And this kind of reminds me a little bit of the Android things project. Yeah. I mean, they abandoned that. I think it was in 2020. And you know, that was it's not quite gotten to this point on stadia yet, although I'm expecting it to eventually. But with Android things, Google basically said, all right, we're done with this platform. We're going to hold your data for the next two years. And if you don't migrate it over, while you're SOL. And that's what happens when your project gets zero adoption. Right. So I don't know how many developers got affected by that. I'm not sure if it's more or less than stadia. I mean, it's kind of hard to tell when you aren't given any real numbers to begin with. Like we have really have no idea how many people used Android things. I used it built my own Google Home. And it was easy to use. And of course, I didn't build anything to try to sell to anyone. Sure. I just wanted to play with.

My favorite streamer is playing Olympic Games, Tokyo 2020, the official video game. I want to let me pole vault. These games, it's only about 20 games, like two dozen games that can have these features like that, and then state share and stream connect, which I mean, stream connect is. You see, you know, if you're playing a multiplayer game, you see the screen. So if your players of your teammates like on the side, I can only a few video games do that, and it's mostly ubisoft games. And then stage share, which is basically like you record, you have a certain run of a video, like you have a run, and you want to record it, you just take a picture, or you have a video clip, and then you share it, and then anyone could just jump right into that direct instance and play, you know, play differently than you, but still the parameters you set for that game type, like you can just jump right in. But it's not really much, not really many games took advantage of it. I wonder if that's something that the game developers would have to bake in. And maybe that's why. That's what it would be. Yes, for sure. And I also, you know, that goes back to the first party thing if they had stuck with that more and they had put maybe some more planning into it. I imagine we would have seen more along those lines. It's just, it's such a crying shame because I feel like the platform has so much promise and what they have really is good. So I don't maybe white labeling it and all that will actually make it useful. It won't be a total loss for Google or for us as consumers, maybe we'll get something cool out of it too by the end. Let's talk about us as consumers. It's fine that, you know, be somebody who works for a tech website and care about, you know, game development teams and changes in leadership and stuff. But if you're just an average person who wants to be able to play video games and their television and doesn't want to spend insane amounts of time and money to try to find a new next gen console, current gen, or we still call them next gen, whatever. If you can't find a PS5, yes, you are. Yeah. Stadia works, and it works really good, and it's comes down to the same thing, you know, which do you choose Xbox or PlayStation, you base it on the games, it has. Probably for destiny two. And then they were in talks with Capcom to host their game demos on Capcom's website. Yeah, now that would be a really interesting use of the tech for me. And I'd be curious to see if after all the bungee stuff with Sony lately, if those plans are changing. I mean, nobody knows what bungie, but it just kind of made sense that, well, if bungie wanted to put destiny two on a Nintendo Switch or mobile, you'd get a cloud platform to push it through like a lot of these games on switch where it's like, oh, here's Kingdom Hearts. The cloud version, right? I didn't run very well. Yeah, you have dying light two is the same way, right? Isn't it cloud rendered? On switch. I believe. Yeah, so that's definitely picking up. And I think we'll see that more, especially on these portable lower power devices, things like that. Steam dick. Yeah, all that powered by stadia. There you go. Although, steam deck is interesting just because of the hardware inside it and how people are using emulation and several other ways of making it running better on what would otherwise just be a pretty cool mobile platform. They're trying to get bigger PC games to run on it better. But I don't want to go too far down that rabbit hole because that's an easy one to fall onto. What I want to know is so when they first announced stadia, they really showed it off as sort of a more social way to play games in that you could stream easily stream your gameplay to YouTube. You could easily invite friends to play while people are watching your stream. They can click a button and jump into your session if obviously it makes sense for the game. So did we get any of that in the last two.

"I think because they need the pixel line to help them make money. They need a way to showcase features that can be done on a smartphone. In order to try to keep people buying new smartphones, to use those features so you can see more Google ads and they can make more money. I mean, a pixel phone makes sense to me. Stadia doesn't make sense. There are no ads. Google is not making money the way they know how to make money with stadia. I'm surprised they even tried it. And unless stadia is the ad. You know, since we know that it is. I'm sure they're gathering a lot of analytics from people that play stadia. Maybe it's a way to show you ads for games you like. I don't know. Well, that was the idea between behind the, they put a bunch of money to get ready to and some other games that you saw the numbers, and they were like, ah, these are not the numbers we projected. And then in February 2021, they said, we're done. We're not going to pump any more money into games. And we're just going to focus on the infrastructure. I mean, they're still getting every year they say we're adding a hundred new games, but if you look at the new stadia pro games for this month, you have Merrick's market one hand clapping fogs, nano tail typing chronicles. You know, the games that I've never heard of these and they're not really getting much traffic and with something like game pass. Chronicles is now banging on an angry email. I'm so sorry. I'm sure it's great. I mean, most of the games that are being released are B tier games, these games that you went to the store and they were like 30 bucks new or like a lot of children's games actually. Yeah, it's not really games. Like you look at game pass and you're like, oh yeah, I know halo. I know gears of war. And then you see these other indie titles that are coming out and there are on game pass that just kind of look cool. Like, oh, what's this unpacking? This seems all right. I think you hit a, you just listed two games that will never be on stadia because Microsoft will never let them be on stadia. Well, if they're exclusive, they own it. Right..

"Only had two exclusive games in 2021. Whereas you got Microsoft buy in half the frigging industry to throw on game pass and Sony trying to play catch up and then where does that leave Google? Yeah, stadia never really had a huge library even from the start. But they never really had when a console or an Xbox or PlayStation comes out or Nintendo system, like they have first party titles. They're like, well, this is, you know, you buy the system, you get a game. And here's what the console can do, because when the console launches, there's 5 two to 5 games. And stadia just never had a game that you could say, this is worth it. Here are exclusive features that you can't do on other platforms. Yeah, and I wonder if that would have been different if they held on a little longer. And maybe they didn't start all the pieces in the right order. Maybe that's part of the problem too. And just getting that development going before they even announced the platform, I mean, obviously they had some of that going or else they would have had zero games on the marketplace when they launched, right? But more of that exclusive development, more of those talks, you know, maybe even acquisitions ahead of time and people were kind of wondering why the heck is Google acquiring this company, then it doesn't have anything to do with what they're doing. That probably would have been a better lead up if they were going to stick with us. I wonder, and I don't know how Sony fits into this. I'll let you game guys kind of fill me in. It seems to me like Google and Microsoft are at opposite ends of the spectrum here. Microsoft is a company that built itself up on the back of office products, which sales are now in huge declines, and now Microsoft is basically an Xbox company. They know that. They're doing a great job with that in my opinion. Of integrating Xbox into every facet of your life that they can. And they're doing a good job of making it worthwhile. Whereas Google, they just do a little bit of everything into them, gaming is just another thing in the basket over there. Now, I know there's companies Sony and Nintendo that fit in somewhere..

"So maybe part of that was because Jade Raymond left. I don't know all the behind the scenes stuff, maybe there were some disagreements back there that they couldn't come to terms on and they just decided that parting ways was best. But I feel like they should have replaced whoever left with somebody else. It was money. I'm sure it's money. Yeah, I'm sure it was. They realized that we can't make money by making games. So screw it. We'll let somebody else make the games. Yeah, and part of it also, you know, I also wonder if this thing was doomed from the get go because Google made it. Like, what if they had announced it, I don't know, from somebody else, just really any other company that was large enough to be able to do something like this. I feel like more people would have been willing to jump on board, although I don't know if large enough is the right term. You don't get much larger than Google Apple or Facebook. And none of those three companies have the ambitions of making triple-A games, and I'm sure there's a common cause. And I'm not a businessman, but I know at the end of the day, it's probably money. So I have a thought on it. I think there's actually a comparison to make between stadia and smartphone companies making deals with carriers because most game developers want to get their games on Sony, Sony's also text box consoles. Stadia literally had to pay tens of millions of dollars to get games like Red Dead Redemption two on the platform. So they had to hemorrhage money to get the games that you would expect just to be able to say, you can play this without a console, but by the time they would get these games, they were running behind the companies that would get the game's automatically, they get them by the time that other Microsoft and Sony are selling it for 30, 40 bucks. They're charging full price. And how many games do you have to sell to make back $10 million? The never thought of that. That's smart. Yeah. And they would start staying at games and entertainment was just a, they had to know, or else they were really naive, that making a game takes years. You know, anything that they were going to make, stadia needed to stand on its own before they would even have time to come out with anything from Jade Raymond because a game nowadays takes four or 5 years. So he's on really naive. It's possible. I don't know about that, though, because stadia's vice president was Phil Harrison. Who's been in the games industry for how long? This is not a guy that just walked off the boat..

"And all that, but seeing that it was pushed out ahead of time and just kind of wondering, was that part of the problem too in the beginning, you already had that little bit of distrust because of Google's history of abandoning products. And then you, you know, lump that in with, oh, well this only works with this chromecast and this only works if you have good Internet connection. And there were so many little caveats that you had to avoid. I mean, even on pixel phones, we didn't have a stadia app for, I mean, how long was it? Was it a year? I mean, it was a long time. It was not. Well, it wasn't designed for phones. I mean, but in their initial reveal, they talked about how, you know, the whole point of this thing. Was that you could play it on everything. You're overthinking it. The whole point of this thing was to sell more chromecasts and make Google money. That's every Google initiative is purely designed to make money, just like every other company. And they wanted to sell more of those four K chromecast. And this was a good way to dry. I don't know if it was successful, but it was a good way to try. Sure, but I think beyond that, you know, you have the basic stadium model was, you could buy a game on the platform, you then own the rights to play the game on the platform. And depending whether or not you subscribe to stadia pro, which I think is ten bucks a month, right, Tom. Yep. Yep, you would get better streaming quality, better audio quality, things like that. Otherwise, and some free games too. Yeah, they've also thrown in free games with that. They had a few at launch, but it was there weren't so many. I think Microsoft or Sony free games, they can disappear at any time, right? Yes, if you yes, every month they would add new games to the service and then you claim them. And if you claim them, you can access them as long as you're subscribed. But after certain time period, they remove it and they add new games. So right now you could if you subscribe to see your pro, you can just claim like 50 games right now. Yeah, got it. So this is more like a PlayStation plus type of thing where every month they have four or 5 free games. You add them to your account. They're always on your account, but you can only play them if you're subscribed. Whereas like Xbox game pass, that's more like Netflix..

"All right, good evening. Good night, good morning. Whatever order of the world that you're in, hope it's doing okay out there. Thanks for listening to the Android central podcast. This week, we've got Jerry Holden brand. What's up? Got Michael hicks returning. I'm back. And then we got Tom Meyer on for the first time. Hello. And Jerry, astutely pointed out that we have Tom and Jerry on this podcast, which makes me happy since that was probably one of my favorite childhood cartoons. For Tom or Jerry. That's a good question. I don't know, but I think it was just always fun to watch them do stupid stuff. It's like watching wile E coyote. You gotta wait for the next dumb thing to happen. Yeah. Yeah, it's good. All right, so we're gonna start this week talking about stadia. And that's kind of weird because nothing really major has happened with stadia and a while. But we had a couple requests to talk about it and it would be kind of fun to just go through how it started, what it was supposed to be, basically. And then what happened once Google became Google as they tend to. And maybe what's going to happen with it in the future. So we'll just go ahead and jump right into the beginning. If you do not know what stadia is, it's supposed to be sort of Google's console, right? It's not a console in the traditional hardware form. It's just a cloud based type of thing. You need to buy a stadia controller. The controller then connects to Wi-Fi to the server that's running your game. You then use a chromecast or some of the device, maybe a phone. And that's how you see your game. It then acts like it's running on your device that you're playing it on effectively. As long as you have a decent Internet connection. So I think from the beginning, that was always the hurdle of stadia. And you know, it's not the first cloud based gaming service that's ever come around. You've had several before it. You had some that were way ahead of their time and have died because of it. And sort of the same way stadia is kind of falling out in a way that we don't see with some of these other cloud streaming services that have had more of a slow rollout, maybe a slow build up. You have Nvidia's one. You have Microsoft's Xbox online gaming service that they sort of started doing game pass first, and then they kind of rolled it into xCloud and you have that whole dynamic behind it..

"All right, next is our buddy Amon. Hey guys, it's aiming from any town USA. I wanted to give a Philly casino update. So recreational gambling team decided to try the Philly casinos November 5th weekend. Perhaps strangely theras and the rivers casino and Philly don't actually have hotels, or even a hotel very close. So we decided on a night at valley forge and one at live Philadelphia. As of November 5th, the valley forge casino had no mask policy, and it wasn't smoke free as a previous call I mentioned it's small, but it definitely meets expectations if you need to play some cards or throw some dice. I will say that the drink service was really good and the gambling was even better. Check out the photo I sent, we ran into a really hot crab shooter and wiped the table of all green chips with a shooter finished. We estimate the table lost around 30 to 35 K that's based on the 5 of us in our group. And then what we saw a couple of others cash out with. It was enough to make sure it paid for everyone's flights and hotels..

"Hello, Mike, I've got a question for you. It's sort of a big shot at Harris Southern California. I don't know about that. Okay, but I mean, you know, when everybody's glad to see you, the staff loves you, you're great with tips. You know, you throw around a certain amount of money there. So you're not a whale, but you know when you come in, they see you, oh, Mike, you want us to hold a seat for you here, you know? Right, right. And I kind of ride on your coat tails. A little bit. They like you. And that's been kind of the case during our whole gambling lives together. We go to Vegas, you get, you know, like the room and everything. And, you know, I benefit from your comps. So having said that, it seems like you agree with me there. Why is it that the hosts at Harris Southern California seem way more interested in talking to me than to you? Yes. That's a very good very good question. You get approached all the time. Oh, Mark. You know, could it be that you're louder than me? Well, I'm definitely louder. That could be it. You know, last night, I'm looking for Mark. It's a new host. So often it's just a different hook. I'm looking for Mark. We're both at the table. Right. We both given him our cards, right? Hi, I'm looking for oh, I'm right here. You're just standing next to me. I host walks by in the distance and kind of like waves from. You're kind of waves like I see in my I've got things to do, right? I'm busy. All right, so you can't figure it out. You have no I can't certainly can't figure it out. I don't know. I want to talk to that guy wearing the I dream a Genie shirt over there at the craps table. You figured it out, my friend. Mystery solved. All right, hey, you had a chance to go up to SoFi Stadium to see a game here. Last week. How'd that go? My brother in law got some tickets from a guy he works with. So me and my wife and my brother in law went with 5 other people that this guy has 8 tickets. And we went up to see the game against the Vikings. Chargers versus chargers. Yeah, the stadium's great. It's really nice. I'll tell you, there's some good and bad things about it. Okay, yeah, let's hear it. It was super organized getting in the parking lot. Okay. "Noah's a saying goes, if football was the religion, for these Saskatchewan ruff ryders fans, then mosaic stadium would be the church where fans come to worship the team. The open air stadium in the center of the Saskatchewan capital opened its doors in 2016 at a cost of CA$270 million, and it's owned by the city. In the fall of 2016, university games were played and tested out on the pitch, and at the start of the 2017 CFL season, this is sketch one rough riders started to make the stadium their home. It's been used for other events, too. In 2019, the NHL hosted an outdoor hockey game in the dead of winter on the field and in 2022, the stadium will host the gray cup. The title for the Canadian football league, Garth Brooks, Guns N' Roses and Bryan Adams have also played concerts here. Designed with a sunken bowl structure with a partial roof around the rim to prevent snow from accumulating in the winter months. The newly built stadium is an upgrade from Taylor field, where the team played as early as 1921. Even though many fans are nostalgic for the old stadium, mosaic stadium is a nice adoptive new home, says Rebecca Knowles. Taylor field had its, you know, a special ambience for, you know, people of vagina and Saskatchewan. But in terms of having something bright and shiny and new, it's absolutely amazing facility. I'd say it's probably comparable to anywhere in the Southern United States for college football and just the overall atmosphere of the fans getting in and kind of getting on top of the visiting team and really rattling their cages. That's Regina local and die hard rough riders fan, Mike rudin. It's definitely a good time something I think everyone should experience. I think you're just born into it being from Saskatchewan, kind of the most die hard fans around any sport. And the stadium itself is just the Pinnacle for football in Canada and possibly even the United States. It's the place to be for sure. Let's go right there. Let's go right Mike rudin is lined up outside mosaic stadium waiting to get into the Labor Day classic with a group of friends. We're in a green and white rough riders Jersey. He sports a backwards rough rider's baseball hat with his long brown hair poking at the sides of it. It's the greatest day in Canadian football, like the whole weekend itself. It's all rivalry matchups. And it's basically the best rivalries in the league are all happening this weekend and it's intense and fun and a good time. 50 50. Lifelong rough riders fan crandall suave air came in with his family from kawus first nation, which sits just over a 150 kilometers east of the city, and he is expecting a new experience here today. Me and my mom, my grandpa, used to watch them in the old stadium. And every year my mom always wanted the bomber games. That's only tickets you would pick. And this is my first time coming to the new stadium. I want to see what the new stadium has heard of the old one, but I know this one's way bigger pair to the old one. And it seems like this one's better, but let's see which one's louder. As the number of fans grow in droves, the atmosphere both inside and outside mosaic stadium comes to life, showing that this place is about more than just sport. It's about energizing the city and is a place for community to gather. You've been listening to tour stories, a monocle, 24 production. And our thanks to shina roster for today's episode. An elephant ride an elephant wide. Today will because it's elephant appreciation day. And i'm sure they would appreciate the attention while you're riding an elephant to work and people would probably stare at you. It's also world rhino day today. Don't take one of those to work because they're critically endangered and We don't want that. Yeah they're they're only around in a few places Right now in these are mega herbivores which basically they maintain grasslands selectively grazing on certain grasses so that they're promoting biodiversity. These are good animals. We need to keep them. They only live about forty to fifty years We need to be concerned about the rhino. So hopefully a our grandkids will know what a rhino is and they won't be endangered anymore. That would be a great thing. I it is also national online recovery day today a day to raise awareness for online treatment of substance abuse. And i i think this is one of the great things out of the pandemic as well. Lot of these meetings. I did a an interview with somebody earlier. On this is today Months ago about online recovery. And it's fantastic that they're able to do this. It's a nice support and it's right there with you. So i do some searches if you're in need of help and you will definitely find something out there And a lot of that is because a lot of this stuff has moved online. that's fantastic. it is american business. Women's day today and it is dear diary day today diaries. These things are important. Like i had one. I kept one in high school. I wrote down a bunch of stuff. I kept one in middle school. I wrote down a bunch of stuff. Sadly i lost the one from middle school. That's probably floating around. And maybe that's been turned into a book. That's the diary of a wimpy kid. But yeah That's gone but the high school one. I've still got it and it's kind of cool to go back and look at it read it. See my thoughts from back then My advice to you is doing and you wouldn't be alone by doing it. Of course we. All know about the diary of anne frank will is. That's not the only famous diary out there. Marco polo kept a diary. Leonardo da vinci. Beethoven charles darwin marie currie winston churchill. All of these people kept diaries. Shell like nylons. my sister used to get. That's really how i i i know. The member of the eggshells were cool. And i can put luke skywalker in there Yeah they have a day a national league where day so they tell you to celebrate by wearing your favorite cheers tights thigh highs socks or leggings. We're hey it's labor day wear them all. Hopefully it's not hot wherever you are. I national girls night as well and women are encouraged to gather with their besties. Today to go hang out tonight so it's not too late. Make some plans. Make sure you do that tonight. It is national centurions day as well these are people that have celebrated one hundred birthdays. I did a little research. There are five hundred seventy three thousand people that are over hundred years old right now on the planet. Yes that is a big number. And i would love to have them listening to the podcast now. I figured that they were probably teenagers in the thirties. So i decided to look up some of their terms. Maybe i can integrate that. You know they would do this. Whole hep cat thing. You know they would listen to jazz music Amelia earhart man. She was acis. Yeah acis that's what they would say back. Jean harlow. wow she's the tomato means choosing attractive woman. yeah. I was talking on the horn the other day. Say about the phone back then. anyway Half a million people above to have them. Listen okay. it's national ice cream cone day. Today is well the tallest ice cream cone ever well. That measured ten feet. Yeah this was done in norway. Back in twenty fifteen. Okay we gotta get. You are story today. Yeah nineteen sixty six where we started that history. Yeah we go back to yankee stadium. It was basically empty. There were just four hundred thirteen people that came to the game now. The team wasn't doing so great that year and several games were rained out. The announcer red barber basically said well. The real story isn't the game here. It's the paid attendance. I don't know what it is but whatever it is. It's the smallest crowd in the history of yankee stadium and this crowd is the story not the game. That's what he said. Few days later read was fired. Oops yeah now. it was like basically. They decided not to renew his contract. He said oh no. It's because of this. It was because basically he did a bad journalistic piece about the yankees and people didn't really care that year and i guess the owners thought that maybe that would hurt the team so there.
