Thank you for that beautiful review I really appreciate every review in every letter every email that has come to me that shares how this podcast and the content that I'm creating is making a difference. It just feels me on to go further and to keep creating content that will benefit and help you the. Listener. So I went out yesterday evening for the first time since the week started and fell to the crisp cool air kiss my face and my did it feel heavenly fall is almost fully here y'all and then winter where did the time goal? Personally last week was a bit of a struggle for me. Due to my allergies flaring up after getting creative in the kitchen by chosen ingredients included lots of milk cheese and. Macaroni the Crock pot here I thought I was being clever whipping up a new tasty lunch. My husband and household could enjoy only to find. It may have been too much for my palate at the time as I get wiser in years I realized there are things that didn't affect me before that totally affects me now can you relate? Let's just call it growing pains now recently I shared I was working on something special as special resource just for you and I know that as you're growing. In. Your Business or your growing in writing and creating and sharing your stories and your blog and your products and your podcast, whatever it is that you're creating and putting out their fair going to be some growing pains that you're gonNA experience and so it really helps it makes life so much easier. If you just have a content creation template, a product, a resource that can help simplify the entire process as you're growing someone who's been there done that that can hold your hands and really coach. Along the journey. So if added the special resource, the content calendar template to your dashboard, if you're already a fearless plan subscriber, but if you are not still available for free on the blog, this is a free resource that is made available to you. So without any further delay, we're going to go right into answering the questions and this resource is going to be something you're going to want to grab and utilize as you realize the importance of having a content calendar now to address the five. Reasons why you need one in your life in a content calendar. First of all keeps you on track with your ultimate goal as entrepreneurs in unlined superheroes making our digital footprints known in the online world, we strive to solve problems, no proximity boundaries or limits, and we are all too familiar with the shine you saying or Squirrel Syndrome. However, if you have prepared a content calendar in advance, it can keep you on track to accomplish what you originally sought to do without giving in to the destructions. All the things. This is a major win and reason to have a contact calendar in my book number two. Why is a content calendar? Important? It clarifies aware you are going and where you're headed. If the above reason, I just shared with you wasn't enough to get you reaching for content calendar of your own think of the fact that you have not utilized a systematic approach to achieving your goals before then you have no way of knowing what you truly want to achieve, you are then hindering the possibility to get to. Where you want to go because you need a clear vision of the big picture plan with the end in mind and outlined half for what steps you need to take to get there, which leads me to the third reason why you need to have content calendar template. You know I speak about vision all the time in previous episodes, which I will go ahead and linked to in the show notes you know the importance of writing the vision making it plain and a content calendar helps youth doing just that. So number three why use a content calendar? It.

Stay Weird With Stacy Ossei-Kuffour

"So stay we thought we would warm up a little bit because We were delighted to find out that one of your favorite things in the world. Is Felicity. So. What is it about felicity? Well. It's a couple of things I think. For me growing up I I didn't realize it until. Now but I was really obsessed with the WB like. The WB. Children out there will be like, what is she talking about and I think for me? I became obsessed with felicity because she was like I mean obviously Carey is stunning I'm talking about like I know are but I think really affected. Me Was it. It was about this woman who didn't know what she wanted, but she knew she wanted Ben and saying it now it's like such an eye roll but I just thought it was so cool that she. Didn't do anything that her parents or friends wanted her to do and she like just dropped everything and moved to New York for this guy and Mike as a eleven year old a twelve year old I was like yes. Hi. I'm this is I'm going. This is where I'm going I. totally forgot you're going here. So unbelievable. I know this from high school. This is Susan this is. This is. versity felicity while. All right. So I'll see you around. and. Just told myself that I was going to do the same thing felicity did and obviously I mean I there wasn't a boy that I was like in love with and moving to New York for but I researched that like the school that they were modeling it after. Was Nyu, and so I decided that when I was gonNA turn eighteen that that was the school I was GonNa go to. So it's crazy to say now and you know when I did turn eighteen deny auditioned for nyu I didn't get in and so it was heartbreaking and all that stuff and obviously I realized I was not in TV show in not felicity. But then I auditioned my sophomore year and then I did get in and so I moved I dropped everything and moved to New York did you also? Like seek out a job at Dean and Deluca to really out. Absolutely, and they were like no ma'am and I was like please and it's crazy because i. think when I went in there I couldn't afford like not even a Bego I think it was like seven dollars an onion Bagel. But I was like for me like walking Dean and Deluca was like walking into a museum felicity just had an extreme profound effect I. Mean even now I go back and just watch the pilot discussed. Makes me feel good. So getting a little bit into your work to words that we noticed while researching up on, you two words that positively came up a lot to describe your work either by like your own words or other people describing your work. Were dark and weird. So I was wondering what those words, those two words mean to you. I think if I'm honest both of those words like. Growing up had a negative connotation for me I. Think. People often thought I was extremely weird and you know I was a pretty dark kid in terms of the stuff that I was into I mean publicity isn't that dark but I was really into. Buffy obviously but also these. Books where like it's just you know murder and incest, and then I think a lot of my friends were reading goosebumps which I was into but then like my sister was reading just rl Stein. So I was like wait what's that and so I kind of ditched goosebumps because it was like. And got into Rl. Stein. The adult books recalled Rl Stein and so I would read those a lot and those kind of just kept my. I think I was obsessed with a lot of stuff but I didn't WanNa read the Kitty Shit. I really wanted the adult books and I fought really hard. To like, trick my parents into getting me the staff and pretending it was a PG and That's just show you the kind of kid. I was just like I was beyond curious like I wanted the content I wanted I just wanted to grow up really

Headhunters vs. Recruiters (What's The Difference?)

"HEAD-HUNTER VERSUS RECRUITER What is the difference? There are some differences and I WANNA point out that while I am. Very very dogged in my belief that your web of connections is the best way to get hired it absolutely is. Okay your relationships and we're really talking about the relationships that you would say are outside that inner circle of family and close friends. But really acquaintances that is we know from sociology studies where most people find opportunities for great jobs is through your extended web of connections think spiderweb that the the the center of that Web, and then the the spider builds that well about in a fan if you will fan like motion and and so as you look on the outer edge there, that's where great opportunities most of the time exists an extension. Of that close personal network and so I'm always gonNA that is the best way to go about it, but it is not the only way and I really do believe in. What I would call the extra arrows in your quiver, the Arrow of over cruder. I think it's a wonderful wonderful service now companies. A high percentage I don't know the number off the top of my head, but it's high percentage of companies. In America, use recruiters or headhunters. There is a difference in the head hunter is is is somebody is an individual that works for company or maybe they worked for themselves and they are out looking for potential candidates. That the company is looking to fill. So they're out looking on behalf of the company. So they're they're out searching. Okay. The company wants this I gotTa, go find it. And the recruiter is slightly different. In that the recruiter is involved in the hiring process itself. So they're posting job openings there the initial contact person. There prescreening candidates to help move the hiring process along for the company and the recruiter is usually working with multiple types of job markets. And while they do specialize a recruiter, a recruiting company has a vast amount of specialist in their company and they're out. Looking for specific jobs, specific industries. So a slight difference there my wife Stacy is is is now in recruiting, she loves it. She's always been a coach at heart just like me. And so we're going to be sharing some more information on my instagram patients. They stay tuned instagram linked in I am unlinked in as well. On helping you figure out. Okay. How do I engage with a recruiter? What type of recruiter my looking for? and. How do I choose? To work with the right recruiter. What am I what am I needing to assess and how does that? Engagement. With a recruit or how does that fit my strategy kin of using my web of connections and using the proximity principle? So we're going to be teaching more on that on my instagram page very very soon but I think it is very important that you understand that that recruiter is and then recruiting firms. Those are very valuable sources for you that can open up doors when you are struggling to find that right connection and it's Taking, a little bit longer then you have and so employ both strategies is really important but make sure that you feel good about the recruiter that they really understand who you are and the type of work that you want to do. So that what we teach here on the show the sweet spot, they need to know all that and you need to be very, very aggressive in helping them understand that so is they're looking for things. They are seeing more opportunities than maybe they would. If they just felt like, well, I'm just trying to slap them into a job, fit? No, it's not about just the resume lining up with the job description it really needs to be in your sweet spot. So good information here that you need to know.

Egg Prices Skyrocket During The Pandemic

"It egg gree GIs or just good egg economics. The price of eggs skyrocketed during the pandemic, and now some states are suing AEG companies for price gouging Stacy Vanik, Smith and Cardiff Garcia from our daily economics podcast, the indicator from Planet money, tell us exactly what's going on with egg prices. We eat a lot of eggs in this country. The average American eats almost an egg a day and during the pandemic, we really got excited about eggs. Grocery stores were ordering six times more eggs than normal and a lot of store shelves were still empty. Yes, so demand for eggs went crazy and the supply could not increase right away because there are only so many egg laying hens in the US and you know that in prison, a man will lead to a rise in prices. That is David Ortega. He is a food economist at Michigan State University, and David says it's all about supply and demand. A spike in demand, plus a fixed supply pushes up the price. And the price went way up nearly 200% in March, and now a bunch of states have responded by suing AEG companies for price gouging. Thes states included Texas, West Virginia in Minnesota, and they also included New York, where the attorney general accused egg company Hillandale Farms of taking in $4 million in revenues from overcharging people for eggs and with egg prices. Here is where things get tricky. I mean, Did eight companies commit a crime by charging more for eggs. Were they just being good free market citizens? Also challenging really happens when you purposefully set the price of a commodity, you know, significantly above the traditional price level that incorporates costs and other forces, David says. Part of the issue here is that costs went up for eight companies to labor transports. Supplies were all hard to get and often expensive in the early days of the pandemic, But did those costs go up? By three or 400%, like their prices did that is the question being hashed out in courts now, and it's kind of complicated and part of the issue. Here, of course, is the egg itself, right? I mean, if I scream prices or caviar prices or wine prices or something like that went up by 200%. It probably wouldn't be a legal issue a price gouging accusation. But the idea here is that eggs are a staple in a stable that really vulnerable people count on, especially in a crisis, and this idea that companies were profiting off of vulnerable people in time of crisis makes it seem kind of wrong, David says. It's especially tricky here because there was a time when pretty much all food prices were going up. In fact, between March and April, food prices saw their biggest jump in 46 years. But you know it's really difficult to draw the line as to what is a appropriate price response due to the shock versus what isthe sort of This type of illicit behavior that's trying to take advantage of the situation, David says. We will have to see what the courts decide about egg prices and whether it was price gouging or just, you know, faire economics or maybe unfair but legal economics. Stacy Vanek, Smith. The Adult Toys From Dodge

"This week's project. Car of the week is actually a van and I'm starting to think I should just call this segment. Mo- par project of the week just because. You know I picked more than just cars for the segment. So be ready for that change. I'm trying to be a little bit more diverse with the Mo parts that I choose for this segment because I do like mo parts from all areas and all types of Mo- parts and I think that good moped projects aren't just cars sometimes their trucks, and since I'm on a van kick this week was a van and Let, me say that I actually set out to find van for this week's project. There was just one issue there aren't very many out there. So let's read the ad and then we'll talk some more about vans and why they can make cool projects. The van featured on this edition of Mo- Project of the week was posted on the Mo- part hundred facebook page on Sunday September sixth at nine. AM HERE IS THE AD. Van Three Thousand Nine, hundred, ninety, five, dollars, nineteen seventy five, dodge tradesman shorty three Eighteen v eight auto runs drives and stops pretty well for a forty five year old van. If you've been looking for one of these, this is one to consider not showroom ready. But great start to a street machine serious inquiries only please three, thousand, nine, hundred, ninety, five dollars, or best offer title status is clean. So. This ban is a short wheelbase van, which for these is one hundred, nine inches compared to the longer versions that one, hundred, twenty, seven inches the van that I wanna buy from Stacey is a hundred, twenty, seven inches for wheelbase. So it's longer than my dad's was since my dad's was a like this van the one in this ad is to tone it has a light blue base with a thick. Dark blue striped mid body in a dark blue roof. It has a windshield visor which is very buggy vanish and it has my favorite bubble windows of all time. The PENTASTAR portholes they are super rare and I'd love to hunt down a set for my future van project. But if stacy's van ends up being mind, then I'll just settle for the round portholes unless I can find. Those awesome. Pentastar. Wants this van. Also has a grant wood grain steering wheel, which adds to that nostalgic feeling along with that pop up Sunroof, and it looks like at one point back was done up like seventies custom but right now it's pretty bare, which is great. Because most of the time when you find these vans, the cargo area usually needs to be redone. These old buggy vans had all shag carpet and cabinets put in Old Saints and. Things like that. So chances are if you find one of these, it'll probably need new carpet and things like that. This one actually has a plywood floor and looking around it actually looks like the van was originally read. The good news is that it will be easy to strip the cargo area and get creative to create your own space. I. Like the idea of a modern version of a classic book Van Something. Creative enough that you can go to shows and show it off. But you can also go camping, and if you're the nomad life, you can hit the road and live that van life but it would also be cool to get this thing capable of hauling a race car that way you have a place to store your tools, parts, extra tires, and have a place to stay at the track instead of. A ten I really liked that idea for me I like all those possibilities but the possibility of having a mobile podcast studio when I go to events would be really cool and if I bring merch with me, it would make a great display for the Merch to this thing has a three eighteen. It's running and driving and hey, it stops too. So that's always nice I like projects that you can. Drive home and this thing is you know that type of a project, it even has some pin striping on the hood, which is cool because it's kind of like a throwback. It does need some new wheels and tires and some fifteen by ten on fats in the back and some fifteen by eight in the front would give this thing that groovy raked stance that was so popular with these vans back. In the day I, think that this van is also in desperate need of a front lip spoiler and the fender flares, which you can surprisingly still find if you look hard enough online but all in all, I'd say if you were interested in getting a Boogie van for a project for less than four grant, I think this one is a great candidate I actually did reach out to the seller just to. Feel the water and see what the temperature was like and it sounds like he's pretty firm with not much wiggle room. But he said that thirty five, hundred to the right person would take it home. WanNa know what I offered him. But that's a whole nother story since these vans are hard to find think he's in the ballpark the side doors do have a little damage and there's definitely some work probably needs to be done but overall, it appears to be pretty solid. So if you're looking to get back into fanning and relive your youth or even if you're a rookie banner, this would make a fun project keep on Truckin my friends that was Mo- part project of the week Nomo par left behind. Since we're on the topic of vans. This week's high-performance part belongs to a custom Shorty Dodge van and the two thousand, fifteen movie American ultra and because I suck at explaining movies, I finally come to the realization that from now on I think I'm just GonNa read the Synopsis Straight from Rotten Tomatoes. So here is the synopsis for American Ultra. Tomatoes. American ultra is a fast paced action comedy about Mike Played by Jesse Eisenberg, a seemingly hapless and unmotivated donor who's small town life with his live in girlfriend phoebe played by Kristen Stewart is suddenly turned upside down unbeknownst to him. Mike is actually a highly trained lethal sleeper agent in the blink of an eye as a secret past comes back to haunt him. Mike is Thrust into the middle of deadly government operation and is forced to summon his. Interaction hero in order to survive. Now, where does this sweet Boogie van come in well about seventeen minutes and thirty seconds into the movie Eisenberg's character Mike Meets up with his drug dealer rose played by John Leguizamo to buy illegal fireworks. The show he wants to put on for when he proposes to phoebe Rachel Rolls Up to the meeting spot in one thousand, nine, hundred, ninety, four to nineteen, seventy, six, dodge short van with a wild paint scheme which. To me looks like a vinyl rap, but

Doomsday Parents, Chad And Lori Daybell

"Laurie Velo Bouza forty, six year old mother of three married a fifty one year old father of five Chad Day bill. On November fifth two thousand nineteen in Kauai Hawaii. Chad's wife for close to thirty years. Tammy. Day. Bill have been found dead in her home just two weeks earlier. So obviously, they didn't waste much time remarrying. Stunningly Quick Tammy was in apparently healthy forty, nine year old woman infectious training for a marathon. Just, ten days before her death, which was October ninth two, thousand, Nineteen Tammy reported on facebook and the police that masked man had shouted her with what she thought could be a paint gun what's going on there right? Exactly. The other very interesting aspect is Laurie and Chad had picked out and ordered their wedding bands more than two weeks before Tammy Steph. That's right. Shoe on that one for a while right so October fourth to fifth tammy visited her parents Beck in Springville. Utah, where she's from and then a few days later on October nine, a man ski mask was shooting at her so I guess the police decided it was just some kind of prank because she thought it was a paint gun and they never found the guy, but it's very curious. WHOA, it is and it's really just the tip of the iceberg in this really strange case with all the suspicious occurrences just everything surrounding lawyer and Chad, his mess and very suspicious of course. Yes that's an understatement. So Chad Chad Day Bell is lawry's fifth husband. Laurie was born Laurie Noreen Cox June twenty sixth of Nineteen seventy-three in San Bernardino California and she grew up with two brothers Alex and Adam and two sisters Stacey and summer Alex Cox plays a really large role in this whole story so you need to remember him Adam lives in Kansas and he's worked as a radio personality, but he's pretty much out of the whole seen as far as we know so far. Stacy Cox died in her parents home when she was just twenty two years old and this was from complications of type one diabetes lorries remaining living sister Cox shift. Let was one of lorries, biggest defenders until June of this year, and that's when the remains of her children jj entirely were discovered on the property of Chad debacle. Now, people who knew Lori will have said that she really became a person after she became involved with shed she had been considered an excellent mother. And a good friend to many many years ago back in high school Lori was a happy energetic cheerleader at nineteen years of age. She married her high school sweetheart Nelson Jawans. This marriage is over within a year. Then when she was twenty two in Nineteen ninety-five Laurie Mary twenty-three-year-old. William but Sheila, and this marriage was in Travis County Texas. They had a son named Colby in one, thousand, nine, hundred, ninety six, and they ended up divorcing in nineteen. Ninety eight. So, by the time, she was twenty five years old she'd been married and divorced twice already. See and she has one child, and then in two thousand. One Lori Mary Joseph Ryan Joe Converted to Mormonism, and that was the religion it Laurie had been raised in. He didn't legally adopt coby coby took his last name. and. He and Laurie had a daughter together. That's highly in two, thousand, two and two, thousand, four in August Joe filed for divorce from Laurie. And it was finalized in two thousand five. In two, thousand, six, Joe Ryan filed a complaint with the court stating Lori was not complying with the visitation order. He asked she'd be held in contempt then August two, thousand, seven Joe is attacked by Laura's brother Alex. For. This guy chases show around with stun gun. He tased him twice and he threatened to kill him. Yes. So I'm going to ask probably a stupid question is this because of the divorce or because he took her back to court. I'm thinking it was related to the custody issue because the divorce was already finalized been finalized for over a year. But you know she was also looking at some trouble because she was in contempt of court. She wasn't bringing tighly for her visits and she was keeping tidily away from him. So, Alex Laura's brother was very protective of her and actually seemed obsessed at the time with killing Joe. Ryan the incident happened when Joe was leaving a supervised visit with his daughter Kylie and the attack ended when an eyewitness showed up. So Alex, pled guilty to aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury and ended up serving ninety days in jail, and this was in Austin Texas. But the custody battle between Joe and Laurie over tighly really got very dark at one point Laurie head to install cameras in the children's rooms and in the living room for the court to see what was going on in her house. But no abuse apparently was found from that camera footage but just so you know this was a really nasty custody situation. You're S, and then we have Joe Dying in April of two thousand, eighteen still young man. This was determined to be a heart attack they did not topsy, but then he his remains were cremated. This whole time has custody battle with over Retali- had continued to be ongoing, right? I. Believe he was fifty nine but he was pretty healthy and there were some strange things about his autopsy as well. Roy Yeah now the court documents say that Joe Ryan accused Laurie of parental alienation alleging that he had not seen his daughter for more than a year at one point. And he also referred to a court appointed psychologist who had interviewed Lori. And according to court paperwork the psychologist David, our pool

"Race continues to make a vaccine in the fight against the Corona virus, FDA head Stephen Han Has made it clear now that his agency will handle outside pressure to approve a vaccine before it's ready. We will make that decision on Lee on the basis of science and data. We will not make that decision on the basis of politics. Asked by CBS News if he would resign if he's pressured to make a decision he doesn't agree with, he says. I think all options are on the table with respect. I hope we won't be in that position. But what I can tell you is we'll be making our decision with science and data. In an interview with the Financial Times, Han says he'd be open to fast tracking approval of a covert 19 vaccine before Phase three clinical trials are done by passing the normal approval process. "You must envision what you hope. Accomplish I. I asked my husband who is an expert in all things history in sports which athlete shared their main strategy to achieving victory, and he frankly yet humorously responded all of them. Renew your mind in the process of sharing your vision be transformed by the renewing of your mind daily Romance Twelve I to now I want to share with you some featured guest submissions on planning journaling as it all leads to how you can make your vision reality and a priority I will hear from ABC of we wear wellness. So I tell you a bit about myself. I am very anxious person I've a very low stress tolerance and I'm very scattering at the same time though I'm a workaholic is very annoying perfectionist. So it's like out on one award I want to work more and more and more and I wanna make everything. Perfect. But at the same time, I usually can't handle it. So for a person like me or if you have any of those characteristics, planning is extremely beneficial. So for me, I'll planning helps me stay focused on my daily tasks like what actually have to do to date because I have so many things to do but I get so many. Ideas and come up with so much inspiration when like listening to podcasts or reading a book or somewhere online and every time that happens every time I get an idea hit something new I get sidetracked and I started working towards it or like researching more about it, and it's really frustrating because of the goals actually had I don't move forward with them, but that's not the biggest problem. The biggest problem for me is I get overwhelmed and with all these ideas buzzing around in my head I, stress out and I an off like I've gotten a panic attack many times I do have a history of like inside and so basically long story short is Planning, really helps me calm down and focus on what I have to do and kind of releases. So. What I. Do is I put everything on evernote or in a physical planner or I've also invested in whiteboard recently I also have a bunch of sticky notes lying around and I can just jot down something whenever have an idea so that I can focus on the task. I'm actually working on and I know that whatever this idea or to do or inspiration came into my head I can get to it later and look at it later. And that seriously undies out so much space in my brain and it makes me so much more free. It gives me so much more mental energy so that I can work or focused on the task. I actually do I actually have to work on rather than China chase around the millions of thoughts buzzing around in my head, which is just exhausted and journaling for me is quite different. So for me I every morning our journal for about half. An hour forty minutes and it's the first thing I do after making coffee and I.

"Lombok is a TV writer who's been on the leftovers Manhattan and Castlerock, and she is credited with Damon on episode one. Oh, three, she was killed by space junk. Hello, Leela Crystal Henry is a police officer turned TV writer and has written on shows like the Chicago Code and a PB. She's also credited with them in on episode one, Zero Four. If you didn't like my story, right, your own I n Stacey Oh say for is a playwright and had one TV credit penn fifteen under her belt before. Watchmen. She since written on hunters and run, and she is credited with Clare Kiesel on episode one seven and almost religious. Awe around there. We Look Crystal Stacey. Welcome. Thank you for having us. I'm kind of a fan of what you all did and because I'm primarily writer, this is a conversation I've been looking forward to for a long time. I want to start with a question about how the room actually function because this show appropriately enough is kind of like a Swiss watch, there are a billion spinning plates. As collaborators, how did you pull this off? How did you manage to do all of these things separately and together and make it seem so seemless Will I have two kids? I've given birth twice and I think there's sort of an analogy to to being on the other side of giving birth where you look back and you're like I literally have no idea how my body did what it did and I have no memory of what happened I kind of feel that way about looking back on the almost two years we spent writing this show I'm like Holy Shit. How did that happen? I don't know what do you guys? Do you guys think well, you know what? For me I had never been in a room this diverse before and it wasn't just the ratio of. The journalists there were playwrights and I wasn't necessarily used to that like I come from primarily the procedural world and to come to a room where everything was approached by character, and there was just a different way of breaking story and worked in network. Before it's the machine, it moves at a pretty rapid pace. It would wash one of the wonderful things about it is that we actually had time to develop a chemistry with each other. Stacey. For me, it was my second show that I had worked on I did the TV show happy for watchmen but really didn't talk much in that Roman. So Pretty Green and being able to be a part of the show and seeing all of the mechanics seeing people that were so incredible at hitching. So intelligence. So in love with watchmen. Had really ever heard of the comic book but I, was talking to David about how he made the decision in terms of which people he chose for the writer's room and he was saying he really likes people who ran hot and I feel like everybody cared so much about. Not only making the show truthful but like racial aspects of it, we all just cared so much. I think because we all run hot, it's reflected in show maybe it is that part of why this all worked is because it's not like you all knew that you were writing something that was going to be sort of profoundly impactful on the environment you were working on a show in and of itself, and that's all that mattered and you didn't have the weight of expectation there necessarily. But what you did have was a very fearless approach to topics that a lot of people are just uncomfortable dealing with although obviously the show is very much centered on race. You're also tackling the persistence of white supremacy in law enforcement. The role that the media including television shows plays in perpetuating racist thought. Generational trauma and the way inherited pain damages the people who come after. And you're even tackling the kind of inherent nationalism of the Superman of the hero itself. And you did it all it seems to me on my side of the TV without fear or blinking or compromise. But I'm kind of curious because you all work together in the room how you navigated that space together to be free enough to screw up. But not being so free that you end up hurting each other. I, think the show for me. It just happened to come at a time where there has been such a major shift and America's perception of race and policing and I think that police lean and to a larger extent the criminal justice system has always been a tool of white supremacy. And being former officer, I can say that you know I'm a witness to it but I think the response to racism feels different. One of the things that really attracted me to watch men when I had the meeting with Damon. was that he was like, okay. One of the things that we definitely WANNA tackle is racism and policing and the idea of masking gain, and all of that was very attractive to me because all I kept thinking about, what would a world where police wear masks look like? Because knowing how the system works now and how it oppresses communities of color and how it negatively impacts people of color while they're showing their face. So imagine what that would be like if the police were mass,

"Him so one night they had gone out on a pseudo date to shoot some pool and have some drinks at a local bar and interviewing the waitress the patrons and other people who were there that night they found out that Benito was making advances towards Stacey and she was rebuffing him she was pushing his arm away and some people said that she looked uncomfortable when he tried to kiss her and she would turn her head and she just didn't seem like she wanted anything to do with him. Well the bill arrived. And when the bill arrived Benito and Stacy got into a loud verbal argument about who was going to pay for it and everybody there said that it was a little bit of a scene and Benito stormed out of the restaurant and Stacey followed him close behind and they both got into the pickup truck. That was later at the scene of the hit and run accident so now we have eyewitnesses placing Benito Ramirez in the driver's seat of the pickup truck placing stacey in the passenger seat along with the DNA and hair evidence that was found in the windshield and the rest of the story started to unfold. What happened was the crash occurred at the intersection. Benito being an illegal immigrant being drunk and now being guilty of a hit and run crash ran from the truck and stacy ran to and we found out through stacy's cell phone records that she fumbled with her cell phone and she tried to dial nine one one but in her panic she dialed three one one in bed and she did tumble down that dirt embankment and she was trying to get away. Because Benito Ramirez was angry. He was mad that she had rebuffed his advances. How dare she rebuffs his advances when he was paying for her gifts and paying for her drinks and paying for her food and she ran and she tumbled down the dirt embankment and he followed close behind and Benito's brother? Tobacco said that Benito carried a folding pocket knife all the time and he took that knife and unfolded it and he called her and the first thing that he did was he caught her in the back and he raked that knife across her back and she tumbled to the ground and she fought for her life against a man with a knife and as she was kneeling in the mud he grabbed her by the hair and he cut her neck and he stabbed her in the chest and he left her there to die and then Benita Ramirez called his brother several times to come get him and Chabala picked him up a half mile from the crash site. The Detectives Brought Benito Ramirez Downtown to the Homicide Office to interview him. They read him his rights. He said he understood through an interpreter and they started questioning him about the night of the crash in the night of the murder and he didn't have a whole lot to say. They showed him the photographs my overhead photographs from the latter bucket. They showed him the photographs of her body photographs from the autopsy and he was nonplussed when Benito Ramirez learned that his own brother sold him out. He didn't have anything to say but no matter. He was still booked on first degree murder and he was placed into pretrial detention to await trial. The State Attorney's office filed the information and brought the case before a grand jury and they didn't take long to come back with a true bill of indictment for first degree murder for Benito Ramirez. He sat in pretrial detention for five years. When the case was shuffled from attorney to Defense Attorney and depositions were taken more interviews were done discovery was exchanged between the prosecution and defense and in August of two thousand ten. The case went to trial and I looked very forward to detailing the forensic evidence for that jury it had been a very long and arduous road and it was finally time for the truth to out to the twelve people who would make the decision on Benito Ramirez's fate and I had no doubt about a guilty verdict once. The jury saw everything that our team had done on August eleventh. I took the stand and the prosecuting attorney introduced me as an expert witness and the judge allowed my testimony. The defense had no objection and I started off by describing the primary scene and the prosecutor went very quickly to the bloodstain evidence on Stacy's jeans. The prosecuting attorney asked me what those patterns told me and I described to the jury about the void patterns increases over jeans and how that meant that she was likely on her knees or in some kind of a seated position when the injury to her neck occurred and I looked over to some of the jurors. I was giving my testimony and I could see nods and of concentration. On their part they were taking notes. And when you're in the witness stand and you see that happen it's a good thing. They were hearing the evidence they were hearing. What happened to Stacy Replogle that night and after I got through with the jeans? The prosecuting attorney went over to the evidence table and he picked up the envelope that had the skin and hairs from the windshield in it and he brought it over to the witness stand and he asked the judge for permission to present that envelope to the jury and he passed it over to the first juror who took it in his hands and he looked at it any winced and I watched that envelope go hand to hand through every single juror and I watched their faces the expressions went from disbelief to anger to indignities and every one of them looked past me and pass the prosecutor to the man who had murdered Stacey Replogle sitting at the defense table and I knew at that moment that there would be a guilty verdict but I had to wait because I was not the last person to give testimony and my testimony was not over because although the prosecution had finished their questions with me after about two hours on the witness stand going through everything from the autopsy the cuts on her hand her jeans her sweater all of the information that I had to provide the defense had their cross examination of me and it really wasn't that complicated they asked me about the weather and how it had ruined a lot of the shoeprints that were at the crime scene. They asked me if I had found a murder weapon and honestly I had to answer. No we hadn't found a murder weapon. I don't know whatever happened to it. They asked me about the truck and whether or not it was drivable and I said No. It was demolished in the crash. They asked me if all of the collection and photographs were by me and I said yes and after about five or six minutes of cross examination. My testimony was over. The medical examiner testified the homicide. Investigators testified all of the people from the bar that night gave their testimony and once we were finished to everyone surprise Benito Ramirez thought it would be a great idea to take the stand in his own defense. I can't say I wasn't dumbfounded. I did go to the court records because I wanted to hear what this piece of Shit had to say in his own defense and he was led to the witness stand in shackles and chains and he sat down in the bailiff adjusted his microphone and his interpreter stood to his right and the prosecutor sat at the table and the defense attorney just told him to tell his story and the judge looked at him and said. Do you still want to testify or have you changed your mind? Giving him one more out and through the interpreter Benito Ramirez said Yes. I'm going to testify. And the judge said all right you're under oath so go ahead and he leaned back in his chair and wanted to hear what this man had to say. And this is Benito Ramirez Verbatim testimony the day that everything happened. I was in my apartment. She called me to go out with her to drink. After we went out to drink we were drinking and playing pool. After that I noticed that she was using drugs because she would go to the bathroom and come in and come out the discussion we had at. The Bar was about money because I didn't want to give her money to buy drugs after that I paid the bill and then I left the bar and went to my car. I told her I was leaving and that I did not want to fight with her. After I was in my car she followed me and she got into the car through the other door without telling me anything and then I left in my car and I went to my apartment in the car. She was arguing with me and pulling on my shirt when I was driving. I looked at the stoplight. I put the brakes on. The car. Did Not respond because it was raining. The wheels just slid and since there was a car in front of us. I crashed into that car after that. I told her she had provoked the accident. And at that moment the judge interrupted and said why she had done what provoked the accident. The interpreter repeated provoked the accident. The judge scowled and Benito continued. She pulled out a pocket knife and cut my hand when she cut my hand. We started to fight. We had both both of US had drunk a lot while we were fighting. I grabbed the pocket knife that she had cut me with and while we were struggling and the judge erupted again. I'm sorry I'm having trouble. Hearing Ramirez didn't flinch and he just continued while we were struggling. If I had not defended myself I would have been the one that had died after that I went to Texas because I was afraid. I didn't have papers here I went to a cousin's house in Texas after that was when I was arrested. My brother accused me with the police. That's the testimony from my case and I'm telling the truth and he got down and the bail of squirted him back to the defense table and he sat down. The prosecutor refused cross examination because his bullshit story was so contemptible on its face. The defense attorneys had absolutely no witnesses to call on his behalf and the judge excused the jurors into the back room. It only took them forty minutes to come to a unanimous verdict of guilty on a charge of first degree murder and Benito Ramirez is now rightfully serving a life sentence with no possibility of parole. Stacy still visits my dreams on occasion and I. I don't know why but the exiled that comes with it as manageable now and I need to tell you that. At the time of her murder she had an eleven year old daughter and I truly hope that her daughter and the rest of her family are now able to find some semblance of peace knowing that her killer is behind bars forever. And I hope that Stacy's soul is finally able to.

"We left off from chapter one. I was in the warehouse processing pickup truck that had been used in a hit and run crash near the scene of a murder of a young woman named Stacy Replogle in Jacksonville Florida. When we left off I was using an alternate light source and I was shining at across the windshield of the pickup truck that had been shattered by someone in the passenger compartment during the crash. And as I shown the light across the glass there was something there embedded within the shards that would break this case wide open. As I looked closer there were several long brown hairs dangling from the glass and I shine the light a little closer and I looked in the center of those hairs and in the middle was a small piece of skin holding them together and my mind immediately flashed back to the autopsy suite and as I saw stacy's body on the Gurney. I remembered the forehead. Abrasion that she had with the small amount of hair missing from her forehead and I thought. Oh my God this is probably hers. She had to have been writing in this pickup truck. That's how she got to the construction site. That's how she got here and I stopped what I was doing and I changed my gloves and grabbed a clean pair of tweezers and I took photo after photo after photo of those hairs because of this was going to go to a jury. I wanted no doubt in their mind as to what they were seeing. And I carefully plucked the hairs out from the glass and I placed it all into a glassy envelope and sealed it and I immediately snapped my gloves off and threw him in a biohazard bag and I grabbed my phone and I called the lead homicide detective and he picked up and he said. Please tell me some good news because at that point we had nothing to go on and I said brother man you own dinner and he said what have you got I said. Do you remember the autopsy? Were the hairs were missing from her forehead and he goes. Yeah I said I think I found him and he went silent for a minute and then he said what where and I told him. It was from the windshield and the shattered glass and I could hear on the other side of the phone. This wave of relief. Come over him and he said. I'm on my way in about ten minutes later. He got to the warehouse and I handed him the sealed envelope and a chain of custody card. And Said Buddy. You need to get this to the lab. Because I know it's going to come back to stacy now the reason this was so important wasn't just because her hairs were found in pickup truck. We now had a time line. We know what time that crash happened because it was reported to nine one one. We know what time the patrol officers responded to the crash. We know exactly what time they arrived. We know what time the truck was impounded. So now we had a timeline about when stacy if those hairs belong to her. Wednesday`sy was in that truck when it crashed how she got to the construction site and why she was where she was. What we still didn't know was why she went from the crash. Site a hundred yards to the west. How she got down a bank and to the would line but the story was starting to come together so I collected the hairs from the windshield. The detective took them straight to the Florida Department of law enforcement to have DNA analysis completed with the samples that they took from Stacy's body at the autopsy. And I knew in my gut that it was gonna be a match. I just knew it so I worked my way around the rest of the truck. I took all of the evidence and all the trash from the truck and I processed and packaged it and I left the truck there and I put an additional hold on it through the National Crime Information Center. I didn't want to release it to anybody. I wanted to hold onto it because it was now evidence of a murder at least in my mind. When I finished with the truck I had to write all of my reports do all of my diagrams and all the tedium that comes along with crime scene stuff that you don't see on television and that took a few days it took me a while to write all those reports. Do all of the diagrams documental the photographs and things like that and I won't bore you with that tediousness but after we finished all of that I got with the homicide detectives and I said tell me what's going on with the follow up. Well if you recall that truck came back to a man name. Benito Ramirez and Benito Ramirez was an illegal immigrant and soon after that crash. He didn't show up to his construction job. Yes he worked construction and he was nowhere to be found. The homicide detectives tried to track him down. They went to his last known residence. They called his last numbers. They tried to contact people at the construction site. They didn't know where he was. He had disappeared like the wind. They had no leads to go on. And unfortunately at that point the case didn't get closed. It stayed on top of the pile but until they could find. Benita Ramirez or somebody that knew something about this murder. There was nothing else to go on a few months later. The homicide detectives got a lead that Benito Ramirez had a brother Chill Ballo and they found Chabala and they contacted him and said. Hey Buddy. Where's your brother? And he was reluctant to talk to the police because Chabala was also an illegal immigrant but detectives can be pretty persuasive when they wanna be and he decided it would be better if he came down and had a nice little chat in the box with the detectives about where he was the night of the crash and what he knew and long story Short Jubilo said that Benito had called him the night of the crash and he said that he had gotten into a bar fight and he said that a woman had died in the crash and he carried her body to the woods and Jarallah went to pick him up about a half mile from the crash site and he said that Benito had blood on his clothes and he chalked it up to the bar fight like Benito said and he also said that Benito had fled the country back to Mexico so now we were in a quandary. We had to get Ramirez back across state lines to arrest him well. Chabala was their best bet. So what the homicide detectives did is they had trouble contact Benito by phone and tell him basically that he was going to be taking the rap for this murder unless Benito got his butt back across the US territory line and December of two thousand five. Almost ten months after this murder was committed. Benito Ramirez did just that he was arrested after he disembarked a Greyhound bus in downtown Jacksonville and he was booked for first degree murder during the follow up investigation. The homicide detectives interviewed a lot of Stacey's friend. They didn't stop just because the case was on the top of the pile doesn't mean you stop working on it other cases come in. They take precedent because the timeline is tight on new cases. You have to work them as they come in. But in Jacksonville there are six teams of detectives. And as long as there's some idle time you'll work the cases that you can work so what they did is they interviewed. Stacy's friends her ex boyfriend other acquaintances that she knew and they found out through an ex-boyfriend that stacy had been sort of seeing Benito Ramirez but not really he had worn stacey against seeing Benito because he didn't like him he didn't trust him and we found out that stacy had been accepting gifts from Benito and he expected a physical relationship in return and she wasn't willing to give that to.

"Have you here on this show because as you pointed out that one of the things that I've been spending a lot of time on re-sent knee is being here in my office studio recording podcasts cash and t and doing all the fun being with my new passion project and I have a lot of those not sure what. He's whispering what isn't yours spring names and so for those of you who don't know Lily. One of our foreign exchange students that we host stead last year. We ended up hosting her. Because of the displacement that took place in the middle of the semester and it was really a blessing to have had that unchannelled opportunity not to host. Stand in as parents. You know to her while she was here. I'm Joshua and I'm sorry Josh and Lily connected very well because she's so easy going and just goes with the flow but she was told Tall at enough you'd say tomboy but just very easy going Lily Eh. If you're listening to this which probably send this episode to You you do. Eleven may feel. It's funny because in the beginning when she came because she is from an Asian country tree and depending on the culture sometimes they may not be as emotional and so when I would reach out to give her husband in the beginning. That was just not something that was embraced heartily and readily and I'm a very embracing person and eventually over over time you know. She came to accept that. That's the type of people and parents we would be so. I'm glad you brought Babe and love what you said earlier earlier because I believe understanding how to approach prioritizing your spouse has to do with understanding your your spouse on standing what language they speak and speaking that language and meeting them where they're at because we have different perspectives perspectives. As men and women. Maybe it is that you've chosen to spend more time doing ministry staff or chosen to spend more time the homeboy if you are someone that loves all the sports in instead of spending what little time that you know you may have aside from time given to work you. You have that time to choose what you're going to dedicate that span of time too so if you choose to dedicate that time to someone else are something else other than your wife or your husband. It's sending a message is definitely sending a message that spouses not as valuable. And so. That's something that you come to realize over time with maturity. I may not be excited about football or excited about some of the changes. Chains that naturally as a girly girl. I wouldn't be excited about which is because I remember especially in different times of our marriage where you you would say that. Where was I a flow as away doing my craft sore my Bible journaling or whatever else and the fact that I was home the entire time while you were home but we weren't in the same room it seemed as though I didn't value that period of time when we could have been together even though you you would be doing something else like watching a football game in so I realized just the idea the concept offs being together in the same space and me in a way just wanting and desiring to be being together which is something that everyone values especially when they're not living together are they not yet married? They want to soak up every moment that they can't together because they don't live together and so once you get married in your living together gather what changes you should still is ir and crave all your spouse without some things that clearly clearly change when you go from not living together to living together moon clearly. There's something change you know. You smell each other when you go to the bathroom smelly Shirley no so. There's a lot of changes changes go from living the other two not living the other obviously pretty big change. Do you know the water jerked all over shower in all over the floor and all that kind of stuff you know obviously your date and you put your best foot forward when you get married it gets Israel you know you start to see who that other person really is so you know your day. Obviously you're you're trying to win the person you know so you're your a game on but once you get married it's it's easy to to relax and just kind of not more complacent as the guy down here. They're not going anywhere so sometimes you know it is easier to prioritize the things over your spouse so nothing nothing. It's kind of natural that when you spend all of your waking hours you know with one person that while at the end of the day I'm GonNa go the home to that person so yeah I WANNA go hang out with my homeboys because at the end of the night. I'm going home to that person who is going to be see there every night for the rest of my life. Oh yeah there's some of that goes into but at the same time it's a balancing act certainly a think within within the scope of marriage you have to understand that each person is individual. Each Person Is Different H.. How different responsibilities they have different interests but you? You both have made the decision to come together. And to fuse those differences in individualities into a common goal into the common pursuit and ultimately the individual things are not as important as the common pursuit is because if the individual things remain the the focus than the common pursuit will never be accomplished and as we continue the journey boards common pursued. If those individual goals remain rain at the forefront then will never achieve anything common because each of US although we were married and were doing our Thing or whatever you know how the young kids say what we do as we continue to work. If that commerce pursued is not hasn't become a truly Julia common pursuit then we're really just working on similar tracks but never really coming together for a couple in a relationship to surely be insane as the years. Go by being human. You want to feel as though as time goes on that we've been able to accomplish greater the things you do become almost like a hamster on a wheel if you realize that you're fighting the same battle than going further along in division the You've put in such a wonderful way to envision. How as a couple and as a unit as one that you are heading towards building your family or accomplishing specific goals freshly in an individualistic society? That we live in in one of the things as you mentioned. Earlier that it is so much easier to get fulfillment and void that you may be feeling as a result in your spouse is not taking the time to prioritize you in the way that you think or desire to be higher ties and that is going to take communication on both parts because men and women see things differently as we go playing fiend for ourselves over the years through the book that we read in just having discussions with other couples then in the ministry to realizing that really do wear the blue sunglasses and women wear the pink lines in you know we see things through different lenses in have different perspectives. But we do have to lease makes the difference having a common ground. You have the same faith. And that is the foundation for which you're able to build from where able to come together and see eye to eye and work towards a common goal and purpose switch at the end of the day for us as believers is that Great Commission Spreading The Gospel Wherever Week down in whatever we do do you know all. I'm really grateful that we were able to have this conversation. And we definitely want to dig a deeper and hear from you all as listener is we want to hear on a scale off one to ten. How important is it for you or for for your spouse or the personal relationship with fi like a priority before we go? I want to share some final call to actions.
