The Blood Libel Accusation with Magda Teter

"I'm jason leg. And i'm joined today by magden tater to talk about the history of the blood libel accusation and its continued relevance listen in for a wide ranging conversation about the history of the blood libel its origin in mediaeval europe and how it has transformed over the centuries and what it tells us about misinformation and how it spreads magdi. Tater is professor of history and the fiddler chair of judaic studies at fordham university. She's the author of numerous books. Most recently blood libel on the trail of an antisemitic. Myth which will talk about today. The blood libel is one of the long-standing false accusations against the jews. It is the myth in different variations and incarnations the jews murdered christian children and used their blood for various rituals. And it's obviously patently false but somehow people still believe it. And it has persisted. Across nearly a thousand years from medieval england to nazi anti semitism and beyond we can see the ways in which the imagery of the blood libel and it's false narrative persists even in new reconfigured forms like the conspiracy theories of cunanan as mark the these accusations across the centuries and different places and in different times became a vehicle for different anxieties about jews and about people's lives at large. And so we can see the blood libel in a certain way as a mirror of the fears that people had not just about jews but about all sorts of issues nevertheless the blood libel is not just a relic of medieval superstition. Or something like that. It's something which has changed with the times and which in many ways has piggybacked off of new technologies and new developments and this is one of magdi key arguments which is that. It's the printing press that enabled the proliferation and persistence of these false myths and disinformation which when published allowed them both to spread more widely. And also give these false accusations in air of quote unquote respectability because the existed in print in the first place and so this allows us to think deeply about the role of media technologies both image evil and early modern europe and also more recently with things like the radio. The newspaper even the internet as avenues. Not for the spread of information but rather of information. Thank you so much for listening in to this conversation. I hope that you'll check out. Magas book blood libel and also the accompanying web site the blood libel trail dot org where you can learn more about the book and also check out some really fascinating maps and other media about the anti semitic myth of the blood libel. Thanks again for listening. Hi magda welcome to the podcast. Hi jason thank you for having me. This is such an interesting topic. It's i think unfortunately very relevant to talk about bible accusations. Yes unfortunately i'm a scholar of premodern history and we always want to be relevant. But as i always said be careful what you wish for. Suddenly my book became quite rather than to although when i started. It was an academic exercise. Yeah i mean. I think that we are going to get to the question of the ways in which the historical blood libel accusation is still very relevant today but before we do that i think it might be useful for us to think kind of really brawley. What actually is the blood libel accusation manafort putting it into the context of thinking about how this is similar or different to other kinds of accusations that we see throughout history thinking about for instance the accusation of decide the accusation that jews had murder jesus and then also things like the accusation of the desecration of the host the totally kind of bizarre accusation. That jews would steal the the wafers from the church. You're right blood. Libel is one of a series of accusations against jews that emerged in the middle ages. And it's one that has relevance today decide was a theological belief and obviously accusation but became embedded as a believe and maybe then projected onto jews causing violence especially during easter. But it was so to speak a victimless crime. Every year whereas a number of other accusations emerged in the middle ages justice christianity catholicism where also solidifying certain and defining certain types of buildings and then there were also libels that emerged in moments of crisis such as epidemic. So poisoning of wells for instance. So blood libels one of the three medieval accusations. The so-called ritual merger. Acquisition are. Although i prefer to call it murder liable. But it's an accusation that emerged in twelfth century that claim that jews killed christian children to reenact the passion of jesus so that connects to the this site as it projection onto contemporary jews and reenactment that emerged in england and then in the thirteenth century it emerged in a new way on the european continent. And that's when it became blood. Libel that shoes killed christian children to obtain their blood. Although the very first accusation claimed of perhaps some other kind of form of cannibalism of eating a heart or something like that they reason why blood became so central is that this was the moment when the catholic church in the thirteenth century has affirmed the dogma of trans substantiation that is the communion wafer that was consecrated by a priest during mass turned into the actual body and blood of christ therefore blood becomes central motif in christian worship. So this is a moment where we have this both the transformation of the murder liable into blood libel of killing but the purpose of blood but also the emergence of not their occupation that you mentioned day host the secretion accusation that jews obtain steel by the consecrated wafer and then tried to stab it to obtain the blood of christ and both are connected in the sense that the blood becomes a even because jews cannot make their own consecrated way for they needed this blood of the innocent christian to be added to mater effectively making it into both the body and the blood of christ night but a accusation that jews stole the consecrated wafer then desecrated and blood flowed dot accusation kind of waned and disappeared after the reformation the blood libel and the murder liable kind of continued the life of their own. The reason for is is that they are related to deaths of children and to some perhaps victims perhaps accidentally killed drown children so it becomes a very intimate actually charge because it involves a death. Having a way for stabbed doesn't sound as unless you really believe what this way for means but accusing someone of a child. That may be found dead on sometimes. It wasn't even body that may have been somebody's child that becomes a very kind of an intimate accusation and very embodied accusation even that transformation from the murder libel that is of reenactment of the passion of christ which emerges at the moment when christians are beginning to liturgically focus on the passion of christ. So you think about jews and reenactment and all that stuff but the transformation to the blood libel shows you that this begins to be a very malleable accusation that can change depending on needs and the needs to came that connection between the new liturgy and the new theology of the blood and body of christ in the thirteenth century

Stabenow Is Among Senators Calling For Trump's Removal

"Democratic senator debbie stab of michigan called for trump to be removed from office following last week's attack on the capital and she joins me. Now senator. first. Your reaction to the news about mitch mcconnell which. I think some are surprised by well first of all. I'm not surprised that he knows that. Down trump committed impeachable acts. He knows that is a bright man. The question will be whether or not he's gonna stand with senator schumer who has asked him to use the powers that they have under two thousand four senate resolution to bring us back in an emergency to the senate to be able to act so after the house acts you know if he really means it than he will join chuck schumer. We will come back into session and we will have the trial and we will get this done. And he'll join us doing that to me. That would be the as to whether or not he means that. That's a good point. So so you believe he has under his power to bring you back and start this trial should should the president be impeached. Tomorrow's we expect under this one article that has been offered for his incitement of this mob in pursuit of this project overturning a democratic election. You think the senate should come back. Mitch mcconnell series about this. You should be back in the next few days and do it before. The president leaves office absolutely. I mean there's a two thousand four senate resolution is passed. Senator schumer has reached out to mitch mcconnell and said let's say it's -mergency powers. This certainly isn't emergency all the pictures we've been saying you've been showing tonight and we have been seeing constantly the experiences that we had this is an emergency and they could together. Bring us back into session and we could get this done. That will be the real thing that that matters. I mean is he going to actually act on this. We just seen too much of this enabling for four years. And i was thinking. Oh chris that a year ago we were actually in a trial in the senate right now. We were in a trial. And if the republicans have mitch mcconnell had joined with us then we would have not had the way that the krona virus has handled that has caused almost three hundred and eighty thousand desk. We wouldn't have what happened last week. We wouldn't have had those five deaths so that was just a year ago that they could have acted well now if he really believes that there were impeachable acts which of course there were than. He's step up. He's a step up in show some leadership. What do you think about the members of congress both houses who have supported who have given kind of even conference the president's big lie on this on this score the they've done it in this very kind of too cute by half way on seeking now josh hawley. Ted cruz of a lot of people feel this way and we're just asking questions and we should have a commission but when all said and done they voted not to seat the electors who were rightfully elected by the people as part of our democratic system. What do you think of those colleagues in both houses. I think shameful. I think in some way. They should be held accountable. I know that there are requests for ethics committee. Investigations am i i. I'm supportive of holding them accountable. In some way i mean. We can't will von and have healing without accountability in without justice. And by the way. Chris we do need to move and we have a president and a vice president being sworn in on january twentieth. We also need to be confirming a secretary of defense secretary of homeland security secretary of the treasury all of these important positions with donald trump. We actually came in the twentieth to put the secretary of defense in place immediately. I want to know if our republican colleagues of mitch mcconnell Going to join with us in that endeavor as well. That's part of the responsibility here. The put in place the responsible team the competent team. That's going to be able to make decisions to keep us safe going forward. So there's a lot at stake here and we wanna move forward and we we as democrats. No we have to work across the be by parsing gets things done but we also know that at this moment what was done here was an insurrection. There has to be accountability. There has to be justice in order for us to be able to really move on in a sincere way. Senator debbie seven out of michigan so much joining us tonight

That decision threatened to reignite protests that rocked the city after the August 23rd shooting. City officials are prepared for the crowds to spread throughout downtown D. C. Mayor Mariel Bowser recognized their right to protest but urged Washingtonians who might disagree to stay away. We're asking D C residents and people who live in the region to avoid confrontations with anybody who's looking for a fight. On the best way to do that is to avoid the area. DC's most prominent resident president Trump Tweeted that he will be at tomorrow's rally. Trump support of the protesters and unfounded claims of voter fraud. It's illegal to bring a firearm within 1000 ft of any permitted demonstration or areas under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service, like the National Mall. Conti is also concerned about the Corona virus pandemic. Unlike this summer's racial justice protesters, many of the far right activists have not worn masks while demonstrating in D. C. They're going to be a lot of people here. We certainly anticipate that on when we have a lot of people that are in our city, the chances for people to get us sick, namely My officers and other residents. We just want to be very careful with that again. Despite the health concerns, Bowser says police won't be focused on arresting people who violate the city's mask ordinance. She says officers main priority over the next two days is to curb violence and property destruction and keep people out of immediate danger.

Pandemic wage gains were just a fluke

"Come friday. We're going to get the latest stab shot on average hourly earnings in this economy and it is expected to show continued strong winds gains but our guy on economic statistics mitchell hartman. He says best to ignore that and focus instead on the trouble yet to come so a crazy thing happened on the way to the pandemic recession. After the economy shut down and twenty million people lost their jobs. Workers average hourly earnings went up skyrocketed. Actually up eight percent year over year but what got was was not signal. Joseph bruce willis is chief economist at rsm consulting. He'll be our guide through this thicket of wage data and when he says noise not signal he means fast. Rising wages have been a statistical anomaly of the pandemic economy high paid professionals kept working from home and mostly held onto their paychecks but millions of mostly low paid service workers lost their jobs. When you've got forty percent of households making forty thousand or less seen a job loss or loss in wages. That explains that head. Fake if you will on wages forty year old cinnamon deutsche is. An example of what bruce willis is talking about. She was teaching at a childcare center in asheville beulah ohio when it closed and she got laid off in march her three hundred and fifty dollars a week. Paycheck disappeared from the average earnings calculation. But she got unemployment which included six hundred dollars a week in extra federal pandemic pay until she was hired back three months later. I made twice as much on unemployment with the extra six hundred dollars. As i do now but i am glad to be back to work. I mean i like going to work so like many americans do inches. Income actually went up for a while because of additional unemployment benefits and relief checks but those temporary effects are fading. And just says we're in for a rude awakening. What i think we're going to see is a very bifurcated. Wage market this idea that k shaped economy separation between the hadgem. The have notch bruce willis says the haves those who work in what he calls. These zoom economy will have made goes at the upper end. Those who are already thriving. There's going to be competition for those workers. you know. Premium place their wages but for lower wage says workers even as the economy reopened and employers. Start staffing up again. Those in the middle to the lower end of the market where the damage occurred. They're not going to see a lot of wage growth. That's due in part to supply and demand. Lots of unemployed workers looking for jobs not enough job openings to give them leverage to demand higher pay. then there's something. Economists call downward nominal wage rigidity firms during hard times ten not reduce. The wages of the employee said they keep on the books but when the times get better wage gains core restrained. That is pretty much what cinnamon joy is seeing in her job. She's back at work fulltime at her previous salary of three hundred and fifty dollars a week. The extra unemployment income she banked back in the spring has run out. My credit card is back up to you. Know almost max out trying to pay five or ten bucks extra so that i can pay that down. I make enough money to pay my bills and have mcdonald's once in a while but you know if my car breaks down or have an emergency am just outta luck i i have to borrow from. Somebody doesn't expect chill get a raise until she hits ten years of service in twenty twenty

The origins of the 'Subway Tile'

The origins of the 'Subway Tile'

"Would you guess is the origin of subway title well? I lived in New York for a while. They have all these little tiles on the wall. Sometimes in the really pretty stations, they even have you know like the street written entirely on the wall like it's a beautiful thing and a lot of older restaurants and older buildings in New York have that tile like I would assume it's just an old wall treatment that keeps things that might get wet or dirty protected, so you've described tile. And? You said you originated mainly in the New York subway subway. Maybe so this article says that is maybe a little bit of a myth did a bit more research and I'm not sure she can debunk it entirely. What the author this article says is that the idea of white porcelain tile is something that predated the New, York subway system because in the Victorian era, which is like mid eighteen hundreds early nineteen hundreds. White Tile was a staple in middle class Victorian homes. Because it was hygenic, it was easy to clean dirt was easy to spot, and it was almost a contrast to the more fanciful or colorful tiles that were used on fireplace, hearths, or fireplace surrounds like if you've seen those old houses that have really pretty like per lesson, Greens up around the fireplace. Fireplace those so this author says it was the designers that New York. Subway system that carried the function of hygienic white porcelain tile when they were designing the subway stations in one, thousand, nine four. That's when New York City subway system began, and they said they chose it for the same reasons that would make the subway stations look and feel cleaner they. They feel brighter and that's where the subway Kinda took off. This author says that no one is quite sure how term subway tile coined or win got coined. Allow historian, not really historian. Sherry Peter Sake to take a stab at this. There are lots of things that occur for a while in design and don't have a term and then someone mainstream and. And it gets term so I. believe that what happened is a lot of people were like well. Basic White Tile doesn't need a term that's what will use in kitchens and bathrooms for awhile, and then when the entire New York subway system started using that basic white tile. It became known as SOA job. Yeah, but I think I wasn't clear the subway. We're the ones who popularized the three by six tile that sort of to buy one rectangular shape that is placed in a running bond pattern. See you're saying that wasn't in kitchens and bathrooms and the subway designers were like hey. I got an idea bricklayer pattern. Yes, I thought the history of this particular part was a little fuzzy, so all linked to some of the other articles I read in preparation for this segment, actually did a little bit of research whether I'm conveyed inaccurately here who knows? But the other interesting thing about the subway tile discussion was she was talking about how it became popular more recently, and why we see it so often, and they said part of this more recent history subway tile is because in the nineteen nineties, more artisan colorful statement tile became very popular, especially like for back splashes, and in response to that people started going back to the subway tile, the clean white porcelain tile as a way to make a nod to more historic or timeless or classic designs follow question You keep saying porcelain, but isn't subway tile ceramic. Do I! Yes, I think it is ceramic. I, meant polished I. Think Read My own word. Word as polished White Tile Porcelain, why twenty eight ceramic tile has generally what's used? Yes, the other note was interesting on this. They said part of the reason. It's become more popular in these last couple of decades is because of the design of Schiller's liquor bar or restaurant in New York, city I love that place. We've been there together. It was like actually know that place. That was a favourite of my sisters when I lived there, so I've probably been there three or four times, and yes, it sticks out in my brain is a place where I I sort of saw subway tile used as designed feature like the same way you see rooms. Rooms now they have Florida sealion subway tile, maybe sometimes in a bathroom, surrounding the entire four walls of the room like that's kind of how Schiller's liquor bar took subway tile. Even the bathrooms are fabulous. Please go tell me how much you love it. Yes, it's a gorgeous place. I felt so in the know when I read that. It was like I have been there. There are probably like ten percent of things that we used to go to New York that are still in New York 'cause we've been out of New York for like fourteen years, but that's a classic. Let's move on though from subway tile to the fiddle leaf big. Ooh, what? What are we going to learn about this? It is a native plant of western

Sally even offered to let them move in with her but Brian was a proud man. No one else had the right to take care of his family. Even when he couldn't so Haley took the reins of her own life. She found a job. She was hired as an assistant caregiver at a senior care home. Haley's friends described her as a hard worker and with experience looking after four small children. Haley quickly adjusted to caring for the ill and elderly for the first time in her life. She was making her own money and for the first time since she'd met Brian she was making her own friends. She even bought herself a nice new laptop so she could keep up with them on facebook. As two thousand nine dawned Haley was thriving and Brian hated to see it. He started drinking. More spending. All of Haley's hard earned on beer. He stopped looking for work through distant and mean. Haley began to feel trapped in what had been her perfect life. Facebook became her escape and soon she was spending all hours of the night chatting with friends and looking at photos. This only made Brian Angrier. He hated being ignored and he suspected the late night messages were more than friendly. It didn't help that Haley. Never let him see what she was doing on the computer for the past thirteen years. Brian had always held the power in the relationship. He was older more knowledgeable the breadwinner now that the thirteen year old he'd fallen in love with was an independent woman. He couldn't control her instead of growing up with her. He resented her. Dr. Amanda Maitland. El-amri examined this case in her. Study Social Media as a contributing stressor to intimate partner violence and femicide. She noted that Brian exhibited a common pattern in these kinds of crimes. A sense of sexual propriety. Brian felt entitled to every part of Haley. Therefore her new life and secrecy caused an evolutionary form of sexual jealousy and the only way he knew how to get his power back and keep other men away was to hurt her the first time. Brian hit her. Haley wanted to leave but she worried for her four kids. She had to get them out safely to so she used facebook to secretly talk to her friends and family about escaping her abusive relationship on March. Second two thousand nine. Haley made a big move. Perhaps she was seeking affirmation before standing up to Brian or perhaps she wanted to send him a message either way she logged into facebook and changed her relationship status to single..

"Brian had suspected his wife of cheating for the past two years but for the past ten days. He'd been convinced all of the long hours at work. The late night facebook sessions and then the text from co workers in biting her out after looking through her computer. Brian thought he knew everything he was ready to fight to keep his wife. Not that this was new. They fought often. He'd screamed at her. Hit her but nothing helped. She wasn't the girl he fell in love with and he increasingly feared she'd never be that girl again but Brian couldn't understand was that Haley felt the same way. Two years of unemployment had Brian Spiralling into depression. And alcoholism he wasn't the boy she'd fallen in love with or the breadwinner who provided for their family in the years since after thirteen years together Brian and Hayley constantly fought for their former. When she'd had enough of the same circling argument Haley gave op. She was going to bed. She layered on three sets of clothing and snuggled into two sleeping bags. "So so that's the end of that. Oh let's not least this could be for you question is. Have you been watching Stephen University. HR sure you discussed. This has no right being so oh good. Rebecca my word. It's so good it's so good and saving it for after Wednesday is my last working day of the year so I was saving it for when I could just sit and catch up on everything but yes and I bought this season on Amazon. Like a couple maybe night or two ago and just watched everything up to where we are. Now it is that show has no business being so excellent and I know I feel like Rebecca sugar posted. I don't uh-huh food vulture. Somebody was like an article in best shows of the decade. Or something and Stephen universals match. At least there are some critics out there that recognize it but I really really. It's under rated. Yeah it was either felt like best theme songs. Even 'cause Stephen University of song is great different now uh-huh oh okay. Well it was something like that where it was like. More people should be acknowledging this and I feel like it. Does it like it gets a lot of props. But it's not really mainstream. If that makes sense I just have not seen an animated show outside of Japan like Japanese animation. I don't I don't really know of many that that really like that. Really explorer such such deep subjects and topics near in such beautiful is the way. The animation is already excellent drying animation. All of that is great. The characters are great the fight scenes. It really reminds me of an animates to be honest with you. There's transformations and fusions and epic fights and power and stuff like that but the way that it addresses like family love. They're really really getting into like baggage right now and trauma fair be. Stephen is still trying so desperately separately to fix everybody else's problems Especially now that all of these gems living on beach city. They're trying to figure their own shit out He's trying to fix everybody Dell's problems and he's kind of being confronted with the fact they lag. Nigga you need to worry about you live it and fix yourself. Yeah God pink diamond. It was horrible like say like she. Pink was Sh- I mean she was a diamonds also new tyranny. You know but in her quest to be unlike man see fucks. A lot of people are like a lot of people and the writing on the Soza so good for where even the way that it treats like that like family relationship and the fact that this character is not in the show. And it's still such a fully dimensioned character actor and Steven Universe is so good. If you've had all been interested. Please please go and look at it and Steven Universe Future. I mean they've already laid all this groundwork so it doesn't it doesn't take as long to really jump into some Mike. Arc's I guess I don't know but It still has this knack for starting episodes oth- about any random thing that seems very like unassuming and basic and then by the end of of the eleven twelve minutes. There's like a big new plot change or something to happen. Yeah they did that all the time like all the time. It would be disavowed. Isn't they. Try to find an ice cream. Mm Sandwich and then oldest any finds out he has a new superpower or somebody has died or somebody comes to the planet. And it's like I'm GonNa Kill Y'all so here it's still does. I think it will start off about any basic thing. And then you learn something brand new or you need a new character. Or whatever and other potential for fusions is crazy the Steven Universe is a fantastic it is animated. Show it is. I feel like a lot of people may not give it a chance. Because it's more of a family show like I feel like it deserves to be talked about in the way that like a rick and Morty r. e. like because Rick and Morty is actually really really really well written as well especially in the way that it deals with family also but it's kind of like rigging married Rick and Morty is telling this really deep an interesting story about family and you don't even really realize that it's doing it until it's been doing but that show was also very heavily centered around Nansen Jason and like toilet humor so you either like or you don't because it's very clearly an adult show. I feel like it gets more like recognition just across the board because even kids love Rick and Morty just because it's not like a quote unquote kids show whereas Stephen Universes for like family like anybody anybody of any age could probably watch it but it just does a lot of good. I feel like it's it tells really great story and now Stephen is like sixteen and like trying figuring shit man. It's just so good. I was catching up last night and I was high and in our life. Wow this is a fucking good program. Oh Graham it makes you feel good and it tells a great story and the transformations are excellent. And now the setting that kind of opens opens up all kinds of possibilities for other forms of Stephen like video games. I know that they just released like another sequel to that game. Oh the attack the light game I think it was the first one and then I think the second one was saved the lifestyle. Yeah now the on call unleashed the light which is on mobile. Aw I really want somebody to tell me if that's GonNa make it onto the Nintendo switch or not because if it is going to be on the switch outweight if not I wanNA play it. Now because it has all of the new fusions and like Lapis Lapis playable and stuff like that but I just it's it is good that show it just has no business being as good as it is is really Philippoussis versus fantastic and more people need to be watching. Mega is a genius. Just fucking no sense brilliant individual. It's fine and a stale. So yes the hoke has. It's so good it's so good. Please watch even university. We have at all for you. That's fine who've had all been kind of interested. I definitely thank. You should check it out. It's not from the beginning catch up to where we're at right now. Washed the movie to all of that stuff. It's therapeutic.

"Also a Taylor and he's always in a crazy food besides the point but he's standing among all of these slaves and he tells them about the black experience how awful it will be. He brings up police brutality. It's actually a crazy monologue I love it and one of the slaves. I believe talks about how angry he is and he basically says use that anger. You know what I'm saying. Yeah And burn this fucking slave ship down to the sea floor. I believe he frees ship. They kill all the white people on the ship and all that so it just to give you a little context of the character very wise very pro very very aware yeah and just one of the better more interesting characters on the show altogether So I was behind into on the second season. I think the season. Three's supposed to start soon. Norfolk island already begun yet but Yeah Orlando Jones. Basically jumped jumped on said. Hey so the new show runner white dude from Yale and he is fired me for excellent. Now before I get into that I listened to the blur girl podcast which is podcasts by Cam a Horn of sci-fi and a couple of things. Interestingly enough she was on the panel that I do not land for. Watching Watchmen Gregor listened to the podcast. She didn't interview with Orlando. I think on the latest episode where he talked about all of this. So one thing I didn't know is that ORLA Jones was asked to basically come in and rewrite a lot of the content for the characters actors of color specifically black and there are actually a lot of black characters on the show so apparently they have some why people writing for these characters actors including the feel like the the folks. I don't know if it were the show runners. But some of the white folk in the very first season of the show who were fired appeared after that first season are actually the ones who wrote that same sickening seeing on the ship FILC but after they left I guess they had some other white dude come in who I remember his name but he ain't give them shit that they could use. Okay so they call it the smart guys come in and write smart black things for the AH characters At the very last guy dim in it he did so wasn't giving credit. You know because I didn't know about this until I listen to ooh bar girl podcast. You know what I mean. Seems like nobody really knew that until he mentioned yeah so he was now. I don't think he was credited for it when he was doing. All of this painstaking worked behind the scenes. So that these characters would be you know fully dimension on and and have sentence in the second season. There's a scene where her Mister Nancy is speaking to Bill Chris. What the fuck is the other guy's name? I think it's a new business the other one. But that's not what it's called in it. But anyway he's speaking to these other black gods including Bill quizzes of the either honestly. She would slay a storm for Disney's the X. men but that's besides the Glenn as well Speaking to them again sort of about black rage and human trafficking or like these all of these women who have been black women who've been snatched off the street and it's another really powerful monologue that went viral MHM after he was removed from the show in September so he says that this man who is the subject of Marie Charles. I WANNA say his name correctly Charles Egli when a name his this is the sixty eight year old white man. WHO has the new show runner for American Gods and Orlando Jones? He told this man that The message that Mr Nancy was giving was not right are wasn't good for Black America. It's not what Black America needed and and now he writes from this is Orlando Jones. Says that this man said the he writes from a black male perspective. And so I'm assuming that means that like so. Thank you for all of your heart. Unaccredited underpaid asks work Negro Male We'll take it from here because I can ride for right for black people better than you and your your whole you know rising rhetoric this character has had is.

I don't do not be and on top of that as a child I understood that you we know when our parents came home and basically just turned a fast food bag upside down and let the contents spill across the kitchen table and went. It's a bit understood that they were saying I'm not doing it. I am tired. Here is food but those are also some of the most exciting damn dinners. He does like. The creative kills and everything. And that's what I found like lacking in law slashers recently. And I'm like, this doesn't we'd we'd just go ball. So the walls with and we're like what does that the other slashes didn't Z so vicious and violent like even the opening opening kill was the guys in the diner? We're just stabbing that guy in the face like a hundred times over the top. Like, you never saw that. You don't see that with Michael Myers jas? Jason stabbed somebody or whatever. This is different from that, you know, maliciousness to him. Yes. He's enjoying it. He he say that in the script you have to the art stabs. The victim countless over the top. Yes. On his just like stab stab stab stab step dab. I'm like, well who how many stabs was that five stabs or six? I was the script for the for the vagina to Gullit man is just basically as you saw. It news was just like art proceeds to cut or was it indeed is going in detail and all he's like starts then the cooter and goes on down her intestines start spilling out until screaming. And I'm like, I don't like God, man. We don't we don't have a giant as but just to think about that fraud. Like, how would feel for if you haven't seen it spoiler? Do what do you call a hacksaw? Yeah. Going from ball bag like how long would it last? Yeah. Before you passed out and died that was that one was so bad. Right. And he he got inspiration for that. From Oldman medieval torture methods. Actually, she used to do to people hanging them upside down taking they had two people the and just cut people an athlete. Josh. There's some shit. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I told him. I'm like dude for like future films men, you need to look more into this medieval stuff, and you not. Yes. A lot of cool. I did a favor on that. When I was in college about medieval torture kills and there's one rely. They put a cage filled with rats that haven't been fed like in a week on your stomach where the cage bottom, isn't there? They pull it out. So those rats just start eating you and sometimes they'll put fire on top. So that the rats is trying to save your belly. God who came up with? No, right. This is real stuff. Oh, and who who sat there and watch that happen to on my God. But once against and this is what I always say being a bad guy in wrestling. Yeah. Is it's a lot easier to make people hate you. Then is to make them like you. But once they start hating you. It's hard to keep them Haiti because you become entertaining. Like watching tariffs like art, the clown. Like when the first girl, I remember her name was the goes when the skeleton dress. Oh, yeah. On Tara Tara when? We got to talk with the student when she just gets shot by art, and she's dead and local she's supposed to be the one that lives. Yeah. So when she's dead now, I'm like, I don't know who throught for. I'm just gonna start rooting for art. Yeah. Right. And that's like art in wrestling, Colin baby faces or it will become a baby face slashed. Good guy. Just by proxy of how diabolically entertaining..

"Reagents going to play for a winner is it coaching stabs who are gonna win the battles for the guys who have multiple teams interested in them even though they didn't get drafted today yeah i think you look at if you ask agents you know they've already got the depth charts all spread out and they know where guys have have a chance of making that lost are better than others certainly the money comes into factor for a lot of guys and i i think there's definitely a lot of conversations not only you know earlier today but i think you know throughout the rest of the week in training camp that they'll have with guys trend bring them in but if you're a general manager if you're in the scouting department at the bottom line is is talent you want to find some talented guys and you look at some of the undrafted names that there were some big time names deontay burnett when when a rose bowl with sam darnold and he went on draft i think it was a good pick up for the titans i i think there are a lot of guys out there that that are really gonna add value at ended up making the lost or over some of these draft two guys at a lot of teams because the talent there at the low in is a lot better than has been in the last couple of years ryan great stuff we bring on board and sharon with us now you got business take care of the next couple of days we'll check you out on athlon sports thanks robin on with us tonight absolutely.
