The move open to the door for Sunis Elita Shine, and that she did during a solid floor routine performance narrowly beat Rebecca Andrade of Brazil, who stepped out of bounds twice. There are definitely a lot of emotions, but I'm super proud of myself for sticking with it and believing in myself because This medal will not be possible without my coaches, the medical team, my parents, and it's this is so surreal and I haven't even let it thinking yet soon easily has suffered a number of setbacks over the past two years. Regular CBS Works radio. How are you? Pretty good. Thanks for taking my collar. I just wanted to comment on the behavior of some fans. Against athletes that used to be considered in all privilege of big event that you're going to a game. But it just seems like basic Level. Uh, courtesies of eroded, and it's carrying into the arena. Long time there used to be. You know you're going to a game. It's privileged. You know, you might get, you know a little agitated and say some words, but nothing works getting filtered tap. Now I kind of want to make that comment. Yeah, it's good to have passion. It's good tea. Oh, cheer and boo sometimes and scream. But spitting on the opponent. Right. Pouring popcorn. Um, you know the behavior that happened in Utah, where you would think that jazz fans? Yeah, that that's a That's a nasty fan base out there. They get crazy for the Jazz, where these people Aren't thinking where, you know they're bigger than the game. You know, they have to do this. I don't know. I just wanna make the comment. Thanks for taking my call. Thanks. Appreciate it. I would imagine that In a lot of these instances that alcohol is involved. I I could just speak from experience when I've been the games or I know of things that have happened. In Philadelphia. Almost always, there's alcohol involved, because here's the thing If you're jumping on the field and running across the field, I mean, God forbid you take your clothes off, too. But if you're running on the field It would make more sense if you were drunk and didn't know what you were doing, or when you get drunk. You're a bad drunk. Otherwise, if you're stone cold sober. Why you doing these things? There was there was that fight? Where was this US? You know what I'm talking about is between apart Was it between a Padres fan and Iraqis Fan? Padres fan walked over And just mean he walked over. I didn't know he was gonna punch of. He just knocked this guy out. Her ball hit hard. I don't know how I feel it in that bar facing hard. Notable Developments on the College Basketball Coaching Carousel Scuttlebutt

"A lot of movement on the coaching carousel. Over the past couple of days the big. One of course was indiana firing archie miller. After four seasons. We talked about that on a previous podcast. So go find it. We're not going to spend any time on that here but let me walk you through the other notable developments richard patino out at minnesota and as up tuesday morning. He's the new coach at new mexico. State has quote parted ways with steve. Prohm depaul finally took. Dave laid off the hot seat list. Boston college hired earl. Grant penn state hired mike castrucci berry dead leg spin a pretty good right now. It's spinning man. Yeah listen we give the. We are gearing up for this tournament. We got we got more than forty eight hours till. We're gonna tip the first game here so as expected. We've had some movement on the carousel. So we'll let's get into a little bit of this This scuttle but here kind of take it job by job. Best job openings indiana. Let's kind of go in order. I guess second best job. That's open. I would say iowa state is a better job than minnesota steve. Prohm gets fired late monday night. His jamie pollard was on the selection committee so he traveled back as he should have to meet with promo person and do what he what needed to be done You and i both seven the podcast in january. We expected steve prone to return next season. But we also didn't expect iowa state to never win a game like he just got to an irreversible point. so he's done. He put out a classy statement on tuesday morning. And i don't know whether or not steve prohm will land somewhere else head. Coaching position this coaching cycle but he will be a head coach again. He did take iowa state to three inch tournaments he was really good prior to that at murray state and certainly qualified for. It's just a matter of Is there anything out there. That he would be offered or anything out there that he would want as for the job. The candidates we're early. But i'm told that this is certainly a coach that you know quite well as well i'm told jamie pollard definitely will be considering. Unlv head coach. Tj burger near the top of his list. I can't say that he is the favorite. I just think that it's objectively true. That tj also burger will be under consideration for the iowa state job along the likes of. You're going to hear puerto moser connected to multiple jobs on this podcast because let's face it especially if he wins at least one tournament game. He's just a hot name. And he's going to be attached to iowa st paul minnesota. I i don't know if you'd be a favorite for state. But i think his name makes sense. I think utah. State's craig smith might make sense and then a high. I do have a wildcard one. Uab's andy kennedy has gone to the sec. Good job at ole miss. He's just one year and at uab but he had he had a really good year. In fact i think he won more games in his first season. This past season than just about anyone. Maybe all of all of the first year coach coaches. So i think that's a fact no first year coach at a new program. One more games this season than ak i. It's just i'm lobbying out. There is a name that should be considered. And then i did see fran for shila tweet this and i do. I do think there's something to it. Like a baylor is a one seed could be in the final four. Hey first time since bill henderson all that good stuff tang is a is a high level power conference assistant that is deserving of an opportunity would come at a power conference level. I don't know. But i think it's only a matter of time before jerome tank. Its job as well. So i'm just tossing him in knows the league as potentially someone that They should consider or at least at the very least interview sets an initial pool of

"All right. Bridget in ST Paul, Minnesota. Hello. Yes, ma'am. Okay? Yes. So I worked for the Trump campaign is a volunteer on Monday before the election. And I was calling Republican voters and I talked 116 voters, and there was a great enthusiasm for Trump. Only two borders. Said that they were not sure they would vote for Trump. And that we're reporting on the Republican lift and one was against it. But there was a great enthusiasm, which and I'm just living in Minnesota, and it was in working with Wisconsin. I saw just great enthusiasm for Trump. Which one which is why I was really surprised that the so overwhelmingly went by I am, too. Actually, it's for people to see the major city of their state. It's it's downtown area. Burned, destroyed, ransacked, looted. And people do nothing and then vote to de from the police. Or at least call for it. Why would they do with finally in the Minneapolis? City Council. They voted for it. But then then they they went back. I not let up on every city government. And then vote and then vote Democrat. You know, California doesn't shock me. Minnesota shocks In three minutes showed up literally dozens of times. And minutes showed up. Minnesota should have a new motto. Really state motto. How nice people can ruin a state. I don't know of professional singers like Harry. OK, but I may be assumed that you liked it because you're doing a show all about it, but you don't like karaoke. I've spent all of my professional life being paid. Learned something since two thing and thought to go to a club and I mean, if you're a professional quality singer, it must be tempting every now and then to just walk into some karaoke bar and just blow everybody away. Then you know, that's just like asking the surgeon every time you walk by hospital, you tempted to go in front of Titus Burgess. It has been a joy to talk to you. We could do it all day. But we have work to do. We have invited you here to play a game. We're called. Giving a break. So you start on the unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Sorry. You know about breakable things. Yeah, sure. No, it was actually the windows shattering. Apparently, they didn't check to see if the windows could withstand the sound of a jet going by at an airport. All right, you have one more question. It's it's from the theater so you might go for this from the Greek playwright escalates. Yes, I'm a Delta flight attendant and just let you know that we also have pins that are available for us to wear at our bases if we so choose That's a black lives matter around them. It's a circular pin has a little Delta widget symbol in the middle of it. Or any flight attendants wearing it. Well, I think many R I am not flying. Currently. I'm on leave. They've been begging people to take leave so they can avoid layoffs. So I've been on leave since June. But I know from Facebook. I see all the pictures of people wearing them. I'm excited that they got their pins on their excited to wear them so As you as you can suspect most my flight attendant friends there in four on the left side. So if if, if, if a Delta flight attendant does not wear one now There's I guess there's some tension on board. Oh, no, That's what I'm worried about. When I go back, I will probably be going back to find pretty soon, so I will not be wearing one. And if asked, I will say that I support all black lives and I will try to go into my reasons for that, But I'm hoping to not be questioned. Well, do me a favor and call your new best friend. When you go back climbing, Okay? I mean it. I will. Thanks so much Love your show. Thank you..

"Bestselling author is my co host today. Here on the air. We're answering your questions about life and about money. A Triple 882552 to 5. That's triple 88255 2 to 5. Chris is with us in Minneapolis ST Paul, Minnesota. Hi, Chris. Welcome to the Dave Ramsey Show. Hi, David. Chris. Thank you guys for taking my call him a big fan of both of yours. You basically I am at a crossroads right now, and I'm not sure where to go next. Uh, I've been in the same career for the last 21 years, which is the radio business and it's been in decline. There's been a lot of layoffs, and especially since Kobe hits, we lost a lot of people. Based Ecklie. Their duty became my duties. And so I've been doing pretty much everything at the radio station kind of on my own and, uh, take a big pay cut with it with the understanding that I was told there was gonna be a new contract for me this summer. With a pay raise, but I found out last week that that's not gonna happen. They're basically telling me there is no money. And I'm just kind of stuck because I feel like It's time for something different. I just feel like there's a ceiling. I've gone as far as I can with this, and, uh, I'm just kind of scared and terrified. I'm not sure exactly what to do from here because this is all I've really done for work and it's all I wanted to do. So I guess I'm just not sure how to. Ah, make the next step and figure out where I go from here. So if you weren't working for people who broke their word And you weren't working for people who loaded your plate full of Sex for work and gave you no extra money or even a thank you for it. And instead we're just working in broadcasting doing what you love and actually made really, really good money. Would you be wanting to change careers, then? Yes. So you're done in the broadcasting. Yeah, I feel like it's just It's it's time for something different on. I do. I feel undervalued. Underappreciated. Yeah, but I mean, that's not that's not the industry. That company that's right. Yeah. Hogan is a bastard. He doesn't feel underappreciated. He feels loved. Yeah, And it's one of those things where it's a job where I want to do something where I could feel that I'm making a difference in somebody's life. You know what I doing behind the mike and I don't really See any results. There's no incentive. I've always wanted to do something where I can Help people and see the change and really know that I make a difference at the end of the day, and I just don't know exactly what that would be or how I get there. Okay? Sounds like he's on a kin Coleman quick. Yeah, it really is. Chris and I tell you will. Zack will get you information. We're going to send your kids book proximity principle because that book is actually the thing that Kim has put together to be able to help you find that path. To be able to identify the people. You need to be connected with next. The next step for you. I want to tell you this being frustrated and irritated are the catalyst that's causing you internally to squirm. But I want you to be clear and identify. Is that the industry or is it that job now? You've pointed out all the wrong things that people on this job have done. And you've talked about that You want Maura? So it's not necessarily that the industry it's more of you right? And so nothing changes until something changes that that's profound. So I think you know that you're a to a point of leaving. Something, but you don't know yet what you're going to is that what you're describing? Yeah, And I mean, I follow your principles were on baby. Step three b. I really do. Enjoy the financial aspect on dive. I've talked with somebody about Getting a job in that career, and she said I could work for her. It would be ah. Pay cut, But I'm just wondering if you'd help if that would be the right move to do. Well in order to live. Your dream doesn't always involve a pay cut it Sometimes it involves a pay cut to get moving and then move up, But I would want a path to make more than I made not less than I made. If you're living your dream, you oughta be better at it more enthused about it more creative with it, And so you ought to be worth more. If you're doing something that you have about Chris, are you married or you're single. Yeah, I'm married for five years with a three year old daughter. Okay. And so you've got that family come home in. And so I'm telling you this because we have a thing here. But when your spirit leaves your butt needs to go And I'm telling you this because I want to caution you that that that you make sure you stay engaged an appreciative of that job. Even if you're working for people that are under appreciative you need to see it as a way of your taking care of your family and building you an on ramp to this next thing. So focus and you fight to stay engaged and do your job Well, where you are so Ken's processes 1st 3 steps in this process to get clear. Then get qualified and then get connected. And he does cover that in the proximity principle, and he covers it with several other free downloads off his website of Dave Ramsey dot com..

"Home by simply saying Google play KGO eight cents now here's Nikki Medora another things to eva Patterson with the equal justice society for coming on and talking to me for a little bit about you know it's it's a tough situation that we find ourselves in once again where both we wants the police department to be there to protect us when we needed but we don't want them to be the source of the violence in our lives right we don't want to see bad cops tarnish the batch as happens over and over and over again like eva Paterson was saying it is up to fellow officers to hold their colleagues in check and get the bad ones out it is not enough to scold them it is not enough to pull them aside and say Hey that wasn't cool you need to pull them out of your department they do not deserve to wear the badge or have all of that power and responsibility that comes with it if what they are going to do is just an extension of their racist attitudes and use the badge as a way of hurting other people in the community it needs to end it just needs to end St Paul Minnesota mayor Melvin Carter was also on CNN's state of the union and he was talking about holding officers accountable and not just officers Alvin but remember there are three other officers that watched shelving to kill George Floyd here is a mayor Melvin Carter the thing that I think would help us more than military support is some assurance across our country that we possess a legal and judicial system that has the capacity and the capability to hold someone accountable when something this blatant something this disgusting something this well documented happens in plain view for all of us to see and Brett what's interesting is the president apparently is on this conference call I'd mentioned it eva Paterson calling the governor's week and urging them to use military force against these protesters to keep them in check that's scary it really is they had the National Guard guarding stores down in southern California but not Pat participating in trying to keep the crowds back cell was there is a deterrent at this point so hopefully it doesn't wind out of control so to speak but you know they're expecting more violence today and that's why state offices are being told to shut down today the rooms and that's all we need you know that's all we need right now because obviously a lot of businesses they were just starting to reopen right they were just inviting people back because the pandemic and now they have to shut down again this is so scary to disease so many people not social distancing and I feel like it's going to take us backwards when it comes to covert nineteen I know it's a whole different subject but you know when you're protesting in Los Angeles you're being told to go get tested when I was a little late had to shut down all the covert nineteen testing sites in Los Angeles during the weekend I think it's to raise awareness the huge spike in the number of cases I would say so I mean I saw a lot of people wearing masks especially earlier in the day you know when the tear gas starts flying and people are going to keep their masks on and it's it's just another thing that we're dealing with this in the same year the twenty twenty is but we need to find a way through this and I I know I encourage people to continue to peacefully protest I also urge people to document what they're seeing and to share it you know like evil was saying the the camera has made a lot of difference in how people understand what is actually going on yeah but what are you saying what are you feeling do you get it or do you not does want to see the rioting in the broken store windows is that it for you do not understand the message anymore four one five eighty eighty eight ten KGO is the place where you can vent.
