"AP sports I'm David Shuster, one game in both the NBA and NHL playoffs Sunday and they were completely different from a competitive standpoint. We start in the NBA with geth and kuba filling us in on Miami and Boston. The Miami Heat cruise to a three O series lead in the Eastern Conference Finals after blowing out the Boston Celtics one 28 one O two at home in game three. Gabe Vincent pace the heat with a playoff career high 29 points on 11 of 14 shooting. Caleb Martin added 18 points, Jimmy Butler scored 16 and bam adebayo 13. Boston stars Jayson Tatum and jaylen Brown were held to 14 and 12 points respectively on a combined 12 of 35 shooting. Miami can clinch its second NBA Finals birth in four seasons with a win in game four Tuesday. And now over to hockey with Mark Myers reporting on Las Vegas and Dallas. Chandler Stephenson scored early in overtime to give the golden knights a three to two win over the stars and a two O series lead the knights were able to tie the score in the final minute of regulation on a goal by Jonathan Marshall, Aiden hill made 26 saves in the Vegas nets, Jake Avengers stopped 21 shots for the stars who were now zero in four and overtime games this postseason. Turning to baseball, Houston completed a three game sweep of Oakland Sunday's final two zero and how bad are the a's well they're on pace to lose 138 games which would be a record. Other highlights Sunday Oscar Mercado with 5 RBI St. Louis ten 5 over the Dodgers and Cedric mullin 5 hits Baltimore 8 three over Toronto. To golf and Brooks Koepka won his 5th major title, he won the PGA Championship by two shots. That was good. Yeah, this one's this one's definitely special. I think this one's probably the most meaningful of them all with everything that's gone on, all the other crazy stuff over the last few years, but it feels good to be back and get number 5. And in auto racing, Spain's Alex pillow captured the pole position for this year's Indy 500. I'm David Shuster, a P sports.

Embattled 1st Black St. Louis prosecutor Kim Gardner resigns

"St. Louis's first black prosecutor says she will resign as Republican leaders call for her immediate ouster. St. Louis circuit attorney Kim Gardner says she will step aside on June 1st, the Democrat tweeted the news to city constituents Thursday, citing efforts by the state attorney general, and Missouri's legislature to remove her and appoint a special prosecutor. Republicans, including attorney general Andrew Bailey, say too many cases have gone unpunished, supporters say, Gardner champion police reforms, but has been embattled since taking office. She spoke with the AP back in January of 2020. This is a night ride. This is sin and a message. If you are a progressive minded prosecutor and you want to make the criminal justice fear for everyone, that we are going to make an example out of you. Judge Michael noble ripped Gardner in court in April after an overburdened prosecutor twice failed to show up to court in a shooting case. The circular attorney's office appears to be a rudderless ship of chaos. Marita shuara Jones, a Democrat who is also black, criticized gardener after a driver who was out of jail despite nearly 100 Bond violations struck a teenager who lost both legs, Republican congresswoman Anne Wagner applauded her resignation, tweeting St. Louis will be better off without her. How the Left Implements Asymmetrical Violence

"They want antifa thugs in the street Because they want them to be able to beat on you to assault you to aggressively violently attack you And they want if you respond to defend yourself they want you in jail And what's the only way that happens The only way that happens is if prosecutors are in charge who will not prosecute antifa but will most certainly prosecute you Asymmetric violence man It is a tool of the left from the first Marxist socialist to write a manifesto now The use of strategic asymmetric violence and the only way to make that violence asymmetric is to have a prosecutor who will put you in jail for defending yourselves Remember the mccloskeys Remember the mccloskeys you think that was an accident Was that in St. Louis A George Soros funded prosecutor a bunch of aggressive lunatics show up on their property Bam walks outside in his own house with a firearm saying hey man you don't want any beef here time to move on And the mccloskeys get thrown in jail not the people who were engaged in the property destruction and other stuff You understand that was done intentionally It is not an accident It was the law Brother it had nothing to do with the law Please don't embarrass yourself

"AP sports, I'm sheck Freeman. I'm at my comeback by the Miami Heat who rode one of the best playoff performances of all time. Jimmy Butler had 56 points, leading the heat to a one 19 one 14 win or the NBA's overall number one seed Milwaukee Bucks. The heat trail by 14 in the fourth quarter. I think this is where all the best players they show up in their show out. And I'm not saying I'm one of those best players. I just want to be looked at, looked at as such. The heat lead the series three games the one. LA Lakers best at Memphis one 17 one 11 in overtime, LeBron James with 22 points, including the driving lamp with .8 seconds left to send the game to OT, Lakers up three games the one. The long awaited trade has happened, Green Bay Packers trade Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets for multiple draft picks. NHL playoffs Toronto erased of three gold deficit in the third period and beat Tampa 5 four in overtime. Seattle even its series with Colorado at two games apiece after a three two overtime win. Las Vegas defeated Winnipeg four two to take a three two serious lead and New Jersey, even at Ceres with the New York rangers at two two, a three to one devil's win, the devil's Jack Hughes is pleased they were able to win both games in New York. Yeah, you could call it that was hockey, but you know, we got the one and we had a lot of belief in the room that we'd get the second one tonight. So now we're really in this thing in two two and we're really excited with where we're at. Baseball. It'll play Colorado defeat at Cleveland 6 nothing Cincinnati beat Texas 7 6 to snap a 6 game skid. Detroit over Milwaukee and Arizona down Kansas City. America league, Baltimore's one 7 in a row, 5 four over Boston. Anheuser-Busch CEO Offers Flat Apology Following Backlash

"CEO of AB InBev, Anheuser Busch, he's been pulling this mea culpa. He's under fire, actually, from the extremists on the left. They're saying, how dare you? How dare you apologize for your transgender Dylan Mulvaney campaign? Well, he's apologizing because guess what, guys, it's called common sense. He just alienated his entire base audience. His entire customer base for Bud Light, those Friday boys that they didn't want anymore. Well, then there's not going to have them after this stunt. I got some beers. They strike them, huh? Anyway, now they're coming out with a big giant campaign to show how rah rah patriotic they are. They are God and country and Clyde still horses, except they're not. One thing that people forget is that Anheuser Busch, the Anheuser Busch, out of St. Louis, that company was sold. Back in 2008, to accompany out of Brazil InBev. That company in Brazil was actually the merger between a Belgian company and a Brazilian beer company. So then that company InBev goes and buys AB Anheuser Busch to create AB InBev. This is not an American company anymore. It's a giant multinational corporation conglomerate with zillions of beer brands all over the world, and they just happen to have Anheuser Busch as one of them. So don't forget, don't let them fool you with the horses in the pretty commercials. This is a globalist conglomerate kind of company. And

"Wouldn't buy Bud Light if I was a drinker. I used to once in a while have a Bud Light, but I wouldn't buy it anymore. It's no longer an American company. It was sold in 2008 to a Belgian company called InBev. And they own hundreds of beer companies all through the world. And so for them to pander that their pro American is just a joke. Well, they promote themselves as an American company and based in St. Louis, and but I'm look, I'm with you. I just don't buy any of this that they've somehow seen the error of their ways Erica. And now our pro America. Right. And I mean, I love the clydesdales and I loved all the promotion years ago, but it stands 2000 and 8. They're no longer an American company just because they have headquarters here doesn't make them American. I mean, it's the same with smithfield smithfield's own China. So I don't buy any smithfield products. Yeah, they have factories and companies here, but it's still owned by China. And so I don't want to do business with anybody that isn't a true American company. You know, Erica, we try out on this radio program. We encourage people to buy American, and do your homework, and you may end up paying a few dollars more, but you know what? It's well worth it to know. You're actually supporting an American company. Absolutely. And there are lots of new brewing companies that are Americans, and people should be supporting American products. And they should do their homework before they buy a product. "AP sports I'm David Shuster this year's first major golf tournament is turning into one long day after another and our gram agar's updates us on the masters. The weather has been the big winner for the second consecutive day at the masters with persistent brain forcing the cancellation of the third round after the leaders have played just 6 holes with water pulling on the fairways and greens. Players were caught in and now face a marathon final day to wrap up the tournament when play was stopped, Brooks Koepka was at 13 under for clear of the Spaniard John ram and 7 ahead of the U.S. amateur champion Sam Bennett. Turning to baseball, the mets got a home run from Pete Alonso beating Miami 5 to two in Alonzo loves this mets lineup. When Did We Arrive at the Tipping Point? John Solomon Explains

"We arrive at that tipping point? When did the critical mass become enough that you'd have for a cabinet members? Leading politicians, speakers of the House. For example, Nancy Pelosi in the article I wrote yesterday, the arrival of the police state to America. I just reminded everybody and I embedded the hyperlink in the article. I said, you know, we had a Speaker of the House who, for four years, refused to address the president as the president called him illegitimate, talked about the current resident of The White House. You've been in this field of political reporting for decades, was this just the frog in the hot water with the dial slowly being inching forward or was there a moment? Was there an event where you realized, wow. This is not the America I grew up in. Yeah, listen, I think the period of 2016 to the summer of 2016 to the summer of 2018 is going to be a moment that when historians look back at America, they're going to say the fundamental nature of our Law & Order society change. And it may have been changed indelibly, meaning we're never going back. It started in the summer of 2016 with the creation of the Russia collusion case where FBI agents and analysts feel comfortable initiating a case that they know, according to their own bosses. Now we've interviewed people like Kevin Brock, who said, didn't meet the predicate test meeting. They didn't have a legitimate reason to open up on Donald Trump. They knew they were using opposition research from Hillary Clinton. They knew that Hillary Clinton, according to intercepts, was playing a dirty trick on Donald Trump, and yet they allowed themselves to be used to create the perception that there was a real reason to investigate Donald Trump for Russia conclusion when none existed. In fact, there was more evidence of Hillary Clinton's campaign collecting colluding with Russians than there was Donald Trump. That moment and then as that's going on and that fall 2016 election, the first major Soros backed prosecutor Kimberly Garner gets elected in St. Louis. And within a year or two, she starts the local version of Russia collusion. She goes after a sitting governor of Missouri, Eric greitens, and actually gets farther than the FBI ever got. She actually brings criminal charges. She brings an indictment against a sitting governor. And within months, it's obvious that she had neither the proof, the evidence nor the crime. She

"A piece of tape here. It is from doctor Newcomb's a film that he helped produce, cut 47, the road to independence. Please play cut 47. The great awakening was a spiritual movement with political consequences. It reached its zenith with George whitfield, but this powerful series of religious revivals all began with a humble calvinist minister named Jonathan Edwards. His life and his preaching helped bring about what's called the first great awakening in America. That led to the Salvation of up to half of the south and one third of the north. The ideas of the awakening as historians say laid the foundations for what became the revolution, the awakening was the sowing the seeds for what became the freedom of the revolution. So I'm a great admirer of whitfield and Americans should appreciate his immense contribution. Anyone who's able to get Oz Guinness in a documentary or a film deserves great credit. Doctor newcombe, how do we watch that film and tell us more about it? Thank you very much. And there are other great guests too also in this whole series. Dennis prager and rabbi Daniel lapin and Janet Ellis and Eric metaxas, and my good friend, Bill Federer. And as well as Bill Peter low back. Yeah, he is, Bill, Bill is one of a kind. In fact, I remember when Bill and I first started to get to know each other in the early 2000s. And I said to him one time, we were walking on the streets of St. Louis. That's where he used to live. And in a genuine way, I feel not like not in a southern way where they kind of just are and not to sit on the south, but like I just feel like I've always heard that and I grew up in St. Louis, so the south sucks. This is like bringing it together. Look how they connect. It's pretty cool. This is long hill. Now the thing you can comment to me about. Afterwards is do you like it? When people pass you and they say, good job, well, you got this. Authentically. Because I often want to say it to people. I feel like it's that patronizing. You.

"This is really putting together St. Louis a little bit for me now. Coming to another patch I recognize. If I'm correct. But yeah. Checking in. You're doing this for whatever time this ends up being with me. Are you feeling? Okay, for let's look again. 55 minutes in. Do you feel like you have about 55 minutes in? Are you feeling more tired? Then you should be at that point. Yes, so. Back off. Nothing wrong with that. It's going to feel uncomfortable for a few minutes. Your body gets used to the pace. But you'll be okay. And you'll settle in. And then feel good. Looks so related to these. If you are enjoying this. Would you, what do you think if I added in? Interviewing some people along the way. I mean, I'd have to pick carefully because I'd want to pick people who weren't really focused on the goal. Making them waste their energy on talking. But what do you think? If you want to hear from people that are quite like just running it, or do you not like this at all? Tell me that too, honestly. At this point. I'm going to gravitate. Thank you. Water. I do not like it. But sometimes it does a job. These models are flying by. 8. Thank you for keeping me company. This is awesome. I guess I must be feeling okay, then if I'm already 8 miles. Again, I'm not going to look at my watch. A few minutes ago, it was 55. So it's a good sign. But I kind of knew that because I wouldn't be able to talk otherwise. I'm going to put out a hill. I'm going to just quiet for a minute. When a few gloves looks like it's about to fall. Thank you. I have an attached. Okay, good. All right. Thank you. I used to hate to have you lose a gun. Yeah, exactly. All right. Feeling good. Friends. Maybe Tina's. Finally getting over this bronchitis. Maybe it's the rabbits all around on the cheering. This could be a good test. Case in there. How much race is to make you feel better even if you just in the not racing? I'm sorry. Do you have fun? What's the song you didn't hear often in the race? Okay, Friends. Here and now you can cut off. The rest of us are going to keep going. See how we get on here. We'll be interested to hear if you can tell a difference in my breathing. As I'm going on. I feel good. But I can also feel breathing a lot of the night. Was I'm also going up a hill. Sorry. Yeah. And we can see this. Racism. It's going to slow it down a little bit. This is where I usually get caught up because I like to like power up hilt. And then I get myself back in that rhythm. Of pushing too hard. I think we're coming up to where I took Bailey to see a life play. I have a really cool production. Yeah, it is. Good last stop on market street. If you have kids, it's a book I definitely recommend. There's not gonna be any split offs. You're just gonna have to leave on your own accord. It's got enough to be trying to think, think about whatever you're ready to leave the room. You go for it. I'm gonna be running well. Right now, I guess I got one. 40. For this. But we'll see. Okay. We'll try it. Make it feel good. The one thing I know. I want to keep it. Conversational enough to be able to talk to you. Coming up to a little area. Water cups. Some of you get some water. Now let's try this. I think it's a cold still. Not too on the ground. Oops. I managed to get Gatorade. Whoops. I should have a bit more. Experience grabbing cups. I see Clifford again. Maybe there's two cupboards. You got some music coming up as well. "There's a cliff at the big red nook. Here. I'm leaving it Clifford. Now we're going up past Washington University St. Louis. Which fun fact when I moved here, I've been here once before. And it was the one of my best Friends weddings. Who was here? And it was on the washoe campus. And I remember, I kind of taking in bits of St. Louis, but never really giving in a second thought. She didn't live here. She was moving away from here at a time. And now she lives here. So small world. In that way. We'll do a census check in in a few minutes. But I just want to just be in the moment for a few minutes before we begin that. What a while. I'm going to fail. I didn't tell. I had a breathing changes. Okay. We'll begin on census check in. So if you haven't done this before, that's why we are going to take a pay attention to our 5. Key sensors, just check in with them. We're going to finish with site. Because that's only ever used. Again, by taking a nice deep breath. So let's do that. How you feeling? Calm and relaxed. What do you smell? Me, smell. Not like a, what's it called? Eat something. Oh, it's getting the word. The stuff you rub on your legs. To make them warm up, heat, deep freeze, knife, you know, what do you taste? Me, it says taste my oatmeal. What do you taste? Now we're gonna move on to here. Just gonna it's safe to do so. Take your headphones out. And listen. If not. You can just listen to my sounds. Maybe you want to today. Sounds like we're coming up to a cheer station. Load of people. So maybe you just want to listen to that. So it's going to give you a minute or so to listen. What do you. Mean? Let me hear those footsteps. This will cause lots of birds. A little bit of chatter. And. Let's try it. My breathing, I suppose. Okay, next, we're going to move on to a sense of touch. So I just want you to be in your body. Paying attention. What do you feel? Just follow it around where your attention goes. Within your body. Off you go..

"There are so many super shoes around. It's kind of surprising. Okay. All right, here we go. Let's go. I'm getting over the line. Now. Okay. I'm not sure I've ever done this. I'm just running my regular pace and race. We'll see if this is my regular pace or if I just think it is that I'm going too fast. After the last few years, we've had this is the strange feeling all these steps together. So we are currently starting off in first park. It's worth starting now. I should have read up on my monuments. We're going to be going by, but as for now, we're just starting off. In first part, which those of you who don't know is about 5 and a half miles around the outside. And it's just this beautiful park that has a zoom in it, a science museum. I think that's history museum. It's got all kinds of lakes and golf course and all kinds of cool stuff for us to go see. And it's just beautiful. People think of Central Park, but our park is actually really amazing. So it's really cool to start here. Now we're coming up to these fountains. This view, oh, I don't even know what the building is. That's really bad. People from St. Louis will be mad at me right now. One of the other horses. All right, true, I might go. So I think maybe we will begin now. With doing a body scan, right? Not something on a typically do in a race or encourage you to do an race. And here's your capacity. But why not check in with our bodies, right? Beginning of this round. And you can do it later on in the run. So what I'm going to want you to do, starting from your head. I'm going to do it quicker version. We're going to work our way down and through the body. And just check in. With how we're feeling. So I want you to be in starting at the top of your head. Working your way down to your eyes. And the background to the back of your head. To your nose, your mouth and jaw, make sure everything's nice and relaxed. I'm going to the front of your neck and the back of your neck. Getting.

I've never done it, but I've had amazing things. And so, yeah, we're going to see what happens here. All right, I'm finding my chorale. Hey, man, corral B today. So not quite a front, but pretty close. And I should mention that. I am taking this. This is comfortably today. There's no pushing. "That, you take it off, you put it off in the corner and you're back to the control and forks back on there. You're normal business at that point. You're a terrific salesman. I should have my dad in here on the airport. What line and sinker? You know, and because we were talking when I went out and visited these guys, I learned a bit about even just like the wheels that are on these things. On the forklifts, the solid tires, the pneumatic tires, and even on the pallet jacks, the are you going over a rough surface like asphalt and a parking lot or you want a smooth surface in a warehouse the whole time, you can get a quieter wheel, if you will or something. So in thinking about, what you're talking about now is building your garage, so you have guys out there with the forklifts that I don't know if they're on just this man or in the dirt or using something kind of multi terrain, but you're talking about later when the garage is done for your stuff, right? Like how do you know you're, I don't know, you're building like a 2200 ft² gym up in the air up on a loft or mezzanine or 2900. 2900 ft² gym. And unless you plan on carrying all of those weights up there one at a time. No, we've got we've got monster cranes that are going to be doing that. Along with my air conditioners putting them on the roof, yeah. So what we're talking about is, I don't know, maybe you could talk to these guys even off the air about what the needs are during the construction process. But I think what we're really talking about is, what's something you may need afterward, right? 100%. These guys let the contractors do their thing. They've got everything lined up as far as afterwards. I have nothing mind up. So as far as making my life and guys like me much easier after everything is on site, getting pilots and Palatin, getting vehicles moved, that's when these guys are going to definitely come into play. Yeah, so it's kind of an interesting thing. It's like I said in talking with these guys and talking with them at their facility and taking a little bit of a tour, which is massive, by the way. It was so interesting to see. All of the different options and the things to be looking for and serviceability and leasing and buying and just new and new and kind of working through that process. And it turns out you do need to be able to talk to somebody who can educate it on it. That can act as sort of an advocate for what you need and then be able to find what you need. Because early don't have your contractor do it because they'll add 20% on that. They don't have 20% or more. 20% or more, but we've got around the shop here we've got a couple of forklifts, some use things that the guys are purchased over time. But now that I start to think about it I was like, yeah, they got something that they thought was a good deal, but is this the right thing that they needed? And why explain why we have more than one? We've got palettes and two forklifts. And we're like, hey, can we move this? Or can we move through this? And they're like, well, we need that machine for this, and this machine for that, and that machine for that. I'm like, that's for the attachments come in like you said. That's my point. It's like, why do we got three forklifts? We don't have that much space. I was trying to find the least amount of footprint, right? Because we didn't have a lot of warehouse space. It's valuable. When you're paying what we're paying out here, you don't own the place, you're paying what we're paying out here for square footage. A price per square foot. I don't want the something the size of an F one 50. Describe one of your extra forklifts over here. Put it over there. All right, so guys, I appreciate it. So forklifts of St. Louis, although they have multiple locations around the Midwest, I believe. Is that right? Yes. Do you have anything in Texas? Just curious. No, but we can help you.

"All right guys, so next we're gonna bring in our Friends, Eric whittingham. We took a trip to St. Louis and I talked about do we get a forklift? Do we get some sort of palette check? What do we do? And then I went out there visited these guys and it was fantastic. And then came back and talked to Bill and now you've got 20,000 pounds. But I want to get into that so we're going to talk to these guys in one second, but Bill your phone's blowing up in the middle of this show. Kansas motor speedway for the official kick-off party in the middle of April and the event will have to be named later. Okay, so we were talking about the twin turbo hall of the ass down the dragster. Awesome. All right, so April is going to be a big event. You're going to have the twin turbo car out there. You better learn to drive that thing. That thing is a beast. Okay, well, something to look forward to in April will be sure to get more details on that. We've got some time. But Eric, thanks, guys. Thanks. Thanks for having thanks for being on the show with us. We appreciate it. Tell us a little bit about what you guys do over there. And it's going to get a little nerdy because not everybody's in the market for a forklift. But I learned a lot in the process of what to get and how to get new and used and different types of everything. So give us a quick little overview of what you guys do. What's the business? Sure. No, thanks for having us on the show. It's a real honor, but yeah, well, our name says it kind of all before close to St. Louis. We're a forklift dealership. We work basically kind of mirror what a car dealership does. We have new and used equipment. We do leasing, we do rentals. We have our whole parts and service departments. And we're really function like that. And we handle everything from the small little air palettes that you see all over to place to 100,000 pound forklift, you know? So and everything in between, kind of what you've got yourself map for your operation out there. We fit every need. We touch all industries. So it's a very unique industry. You know, the gentleman you met right here Gary Hanson next has been in it for a few years, almost 50 years and seeing a lot of changes go and we're seeing now even nowadays we're seeing more of automation come into play. Driverless forklifts and all that kind of stuff too. So it is nerdy, we're probably the furthest thing away from nerds. And when you get into our industry, the guys that the guys and women have built this thing up, you know, one of our counterparts found in Atlanta set a best were basically C students, putting things together for people. Really, at the end of the day. So we come from all walks of life, a lot of us are come heavy from the athletic backfields, kind of like mister Goldberg right there and stuff. So it's like my father, big time football player and like myself did a little bit of that. My brother. So yeah, I mean, everything is application driven for what you want to do with a forklift. You know, if you're simply working in the warehouse and the tires and that type of truck from working out in the lumbar yards to working hard and a lot of people have seen the backup with container handling and all that, the big 100,000 pounders that handle those things and go 5, 6 I or help them move on that stuff along. So yeah, like I said, we talked earlier. We touch every industry out there. So it's very interesting. So Goldberg is just getting delivery of a bunch of his, the materials for his super garage. It's this amazing 20,000 or so square foot facility that we've been talking about for a while. And a lot of it is kind of prefab. So all this deal is coming the roof just arrived. Bill can tell us about it, but before you say anything, Bill. I think you need a new spokesperson. I was like, Eric, roughly, what is it cost to rent a forklift for the day? I'm just curious before Bill says anything. What does it cost to write a forklift for the day? For the day, it's probably your hard line stuff, three 50,.

"Just kinda wanna do something. Hey, yeah. Oh, it's not that I need to do. It's like really kind of want to. I don't know, just to see the reaction. And it's fun, right? It's like fun to do silly stuff. It's fine. A lot of the goldbergs. Okay, so I want to touch on this. So apparently someone from Chevrolet, one of the product marketing managers over there was on a podcast recently. And they were asking him about the Z06, the new Z06, it looks fantastic. It's fast. It sounds great. And they're saying, well, what's the pricing going to come in at? And we heard rumors of a hundred grand. And then he kind of danced around it, but it was basically saying that the stingray to Z06 base price of the stingray versus the Z06 base price. The gap in between there would be about on par with what the previous gen Corvette was. So the previous gen Corvette started it a little bit lower. So this thing right now, the C 8 is a little bit higher. So what does that what does that mean? It'll be a 120. That's what it means. No surprisingly, he's saying that gap was smaller than what we thought before, something like 20%. So if you apply that now, this could the Z06 could come in base price mind you under 90 grand. There could be 89 9 9 5 somewhere around there. It could basically be 90,000. To the previous model, which was the previous model was 78,000. So respectable. Yeah, maybe we're talking ten, 12 grand over what it was before, knowing what you're getting. And certainly worth it. There's probably going to be a handful of options and a lot of people want that track pack with the really aggressive stuff. And that'll probably add 18 to 20 grand on top of it. But I mean, you're probably into a really nice Z06 for under a hundred grand if you want and probably under one 20 if you wanted outfitted with pretty much everything. And you're talking sub three seconds zero to 60 times that sound that flat play. A lot of car for the amount of money that lesser cars are being sold for now to put it. Listen, absolutely. Now, let's not talk about the bullshit $30,000 markup dealers are probably going to be asking for, but that aside that aside, if GM and Chevrolet can get this thing base price of anywhere around 90,000 bucks, I say kudos you guys holy shit, great job. I think that would be a fantastic, a fantastic number for sure. We're all used small people who can fit in that car. That's right, I'm gonna fit in it. Love you guys tell you about trico, let me guys. Let me tell you guys about tricho over a century ago, trica was the first to make wiper blades. They've been a step ahead of mother nature ever since. Engineers, they study your specific driving conditions to make sure you're ready for anything, even if it rains actual cats and dogs. "The gateway arch. And this is talking about like code protocols to help facilitate social distancing gas will be limited under ten minutes at the top of the arch. There are no restroom or dining facilities at the top of the gateway arch. So if you have to do it before you go out on the tram Yeah she can't do it. On top makes sense there were two. So where would it go. It's not structurally sound for that. It's already so forth. it's already snowing toilet there. Could you imagine swaying eighteen inches on a toilet. In the in the i i would just. I've just drama myself. I couldn't handle. I couldn't have you had K. you guys. Let's talk about my favorite thing in the world. It's time for fun. Facts impacts impacts on tax and. These are all coming from architectural digest. So the arches two legs were built separately. And if they're measurements were off by as little as one sixty fourth of an inch. They would not have been able to join at the top. The stainless steel pieces of the arch were shipped in via train from pennsylvania and had to be assembled on site welders had to work extraordinarily carefully to ensure their measurements. Were precise the margin of error allowed was less than half a millimeter though. The construction workers were sure of their product. Many people speculated that the arch would fall when the last piece at the top of the arch was set in place to join the legs. It didn't of course it dissolve. I'm kind of like. I'm kind of like with everybody else. Who's like this is gonna fall. Yeah i don't like. I understand that there's engineering and understand that. Like their isaac newton laws that play to keep it from not falling. But i don't. I don't know i don't like it. I don't like i don't like it's not having anything below me. I know it's a funny thing to do it to like an all. You're just like me that they didn't use harnesses. How are they doing this. Like how are they doing nilsson Pen and paper two quakes. yeah No calculators giving a pencil let me do equations to like let me get a ruler and measure out exactly how long this to be in order to not fall in kill every potty cheese next fun fact. Not so fun but kinda fun. The insurance company for the project predicted that thirteen workers would die during construction. I feel like if you have a death. Count like you've an estimated death count. Don't do the project don't you. Yeah that's really funny sad with a difficult construction process that saw people working hundreds of feet in the air with no safety nets it is not too much of a surprise that the insurers expected there to be fatalities but somehow no one died during construction. The only death associated with the gateway arch was that of kenneth sewers who in nineteen eighty leapt from a plane. Po parachuted to the top of the arch and attempted to base jump to the ground. His accelerate parachute didn't deploy and he fell to his death. Who well you can't blame the arch for that. No that's not her fault. That's a bearer. Shoot problem the arch did with the arch was supposed to do. Which was sir michael landing surface. He landed. Everything's as an hair shoe. Didn't deploy all the arches continuing with our backs. There was confusion over whether the elder or the younger staring in won the design competition for the monument. Both father and son entered the competition and even though eero was chosen as the winner. Confused officials mistakenly told his father he had won the architects and their family had already had a champagne celebration to toast the senior seren and when a telegram came in came in to correct the error. I mean. at least like it's still use to champagne would be different. It was like somebody completely different completely different. All that means is that like you do another round champagne toast. Yeah it's like all right. sorry dad. But congratulations brother exactly. That's it. I think said this before but the arches as tall as it is wide though it might not look like it. The art is six hundred thirty feet tall and six hundred and thirty feet wide. Since you're not always looking at the arch straight on you experience an illusion that it's much taller than it is wide. Sure i mean. This thing is full of like optical illusion sorts of things. Yeah oh you'll love this. The unique tram system was invented by man with no no formal with exert with no formal engineering training. Absolutely was he literally. I've separately not. I all take my pictures from the ground. I will literally you will. You will not catch me. In in the saint louis arch with this nonsense. No thanks to the curved shape of the arch irregular elevator couldn't bring visitors from the base to the top sarunas firm called the montgomery elevator company in moline illinois to solve the problem. Dick voucher a college dropout whose family was in the elevator. Business happened to visit a friend who worked at the company and that friend connected him with the architect. It's all about. Who do you know who knows about network connection. The elevator world is small. I love it. it's so funny. Version was asked to design the system in just two weeks okay. Mic talking about the safety of humans find. His solution was a tram. That was part elevator impart ferris wheel. And it's very system that lists visitors to the top of the arch today. My only hope is that in the intervening years. They have had a college educated engineering person. Come in and be like yes. This is structurally safe. Yes this will not miss function absolutely absolutely This is my favorite in fact in. You're gonna be you're gonna lose rush. Et presidents are not allowed to go to the top. If it's if it's not safe enough for the president of the united states it is not safe for me. They're not allowed with the exception of president eisenhower. While sure he's the first he was the first tea like green light. It and did all this stuff to get done. The secret service has forbidden all presidents from ascending. The gateway arch due to security concerns. It is after all very tight enclosed space. The only exception was dwight eisenhower. Who signed the order for the construction of the arch in nineteen fifty four and nineteen sixty seven. When he was seventy seven years old. The former president visited saint louis to give a speech. A trip to the top was not in his itinerary but when he showed up early to the money and After it to the public he insisted on riding the tram up. So i'm like i'm like man is like but i i this is my doing. I want this man. I i i remember my mind i mean yeah. I'm kind of i'm like i feel like the security. The secret service knows more than we do because unlike yes shut it down to all other visitors and let the president go up. You know like what what isn't safe about it. Oh that's true. I didn't think about. It does make sense like there's no easy way out like how would you get somebody out if the lake. Yeah but that is a ballad question. Yeah there's no easy way out air force one and yet we're fine true true true. The arches recent or innovation is more than twice as expensive as the original cost to build it. When the archway searches the arch was built in the early sixties. It costs thirteen million dollars. More than a hundred million today when adjusted for inflation the arches recent renovation costs three hundred eighty million dollars but it was also that many was also used to renovate the park expand the museum. They added a cafe and they raised to the riverbank to prevent flooding. So isn't just spent on the arch. And larry any work. You're going to do to like raise land and prevent floodings. Bruce expensive is fine. Yeah it's fine with me. We definitely don't want flooding. I already press this arch. And it's gorgeous but i wasn't told to all of that renovation was completed in two thousand eighteen but like we weren't like we were told that it can sway up to eighteen inches. We weren't told that it could withstand flooding. I know nobody's. I failing third their drip feeding us the important information. They're like this. Which is the structurally sound. We've got but i don't it's taizhou outwear. There's there's fled possibly elements there. It's a tight enclosed space. Sh- next you're gonna tell me it's like can be melted by fire like that's what i'm expecting. Come up next away. God oh my. I love it but you guys. That's the st louis arch. "In the united states and it is as wide as it is tall. She's huge. She's really big. Yeah yeah the budget came in at thirteen point. Four million employing a few hundred workers with amazingly no loss of life. Yeah i feel like we saw this at mount rushmore to where they were like no what they also didn't you there. Were no harnesses used right. Ooh crazy nothing in sixty five. Ooh yeah no. Thank you An internal tram system takes visitors to the top. Where on a clear day. They can see up to thirty miles across the winding mississippi and to the great plains to the west he is love. Early visitors weren't able to enjoy the amazing views from the top as the two million transit system wasn't completed until nineteen sixty seven today up to six thousand seven hundred visitors per day. Take the four minute tram right to the top. Four minutes into their quick. it's a weird to obviously. We didn't go up but like it's a somebody was describing us that it's like a. It's a weird because it's an art. It's not like a elevator. It's like a weird hod type thing And then there's like these little windows and you can see them if you look at the top of the arch You can see them. They're like little like almost like submarine windows but like oval in 'cause i don't know that it's that big and it's not like you have like a regular elevator to global pod thing i love it. Yeah in addition to the gateway arch the jefferson expansion. Memorial includes the museum of westward expansion. And the old courthouse of saint louis. Where two of the famous dread scott's slavery cases were heard in eighteen sixties. So it's in this hub Her story yeah. Also i would love to go to the museum of westward expansion. Just manifest the destiny for me. What a great great time. Were just like kit. Going keep going out. We hit talking. Just keep walking west and west stop. Don't stop so this talk about building. The arch nets. The gateway arch was designed by finnish born american educated architect. Eero serena n- his first name is e. r. o. In his last name is s. a. r. i n. e. n. very finish Very finished speaking of fenland were currently charting and finland so shout tie an issue. This is not good. This is not a good moment for us as far as celebrate. Sorry don't know how to pronounce his name from various artists. Can yell at us on the on the social media this time. 'cause i'm very sorry about that pronunciation and it was erected. The arches erected to commemorate president. Thomas jefferson's louisiana purchase of eighteen or three and to celebrate saint louis is role in the rapid westward expansion. That followed i think i i mean i think having the saint louis arches is obviously amazing. And i'm glad that we do have it. But i do think that they were grasping at straws on what to make a monument for they're like we wanna put something here but like what. What are we gonna celebrate. Among oh i know jimmer the louisiana purchase oria grains roximately like a hundred forty years ago that everybody loves louisiana purchase. They'll get it. It'll be all right. it was. It was a great purchase gray purchase. So as the market and supply point for for traders and explorers including the famous meriwether. Lewis and william clark. The town of saint grew exponentially after the war of eighteen twelve when great numbers of people began to travel by a wagon to seek their fortunes west of the mississippi. I mean i just feel like the episode on lewis and clark that we are going to do in the future Hold onto your hats. We have no. We have no current plans. But i feel i'm ready. I started that episode research at one point and then we swapped it out for something else because like there was a homage or something happened. Like yeah yeah. Yeah so we definitely have to do that episode. Yeah in nineteen forty seven. Nineteen forty eight saruman. We're just gonna say aaron and if it's not right please tell added ziauddin social media. Seran won a nationwide competition to design a monument. Honoring the spirit of the western pioneers in a sad twist defeated. The architect died of a brain tumor in nineteen sixty one and did not have to see. I know And did not live to see. The construction of his now famous arch which began in february of nineteen. Sixty three to bummer. I know poor saruman. I know according to the competitions call for submissions the new monument was to serve as quote a living memory to jefferson's vision of greater opportunities for men of all races and creeds. I don't know about that. i think. Somebody's stretching the truth here a little bit. Maybe it's jefferson himself. But i don't think that was his His what you mccall. It's slogan no. No that was not the tattoo he had on his body. Speaking of his design. Seren instead quote. The arch symbolized the gateway to the west the national expansion. And what not close quote you know. I guess gave talk less national expansion. You know blah blah blah blah like. You know what i'm saying. You know what i'm saying. You feel you feel great. I'm sure i'm sure that he gave a very eloquent answer to this question in like a different interview. Oh yeah seven reason. They pulled the the one at end whatnot. I you know who's them. What's his slake. Everybody's going west. Here's an arch to celebrate that. I love it. Sarunas designers chosen from one hundred and seventy two submissions which included animal sculptures a statue of the signing of the of the louisiana purchase and eros fathers own entry depicting a tall rectangular stone gate. So we both user so seventeen seventy. There's though there. So retro were all about arches. Now euro based his design on the qatari curve or the shape. Ah made by a free hanging chain when held at both ends which begs the question like why. I don't know like you would think there would be some kind of symbolism they're like yeah Who was in chains than the chains are now who is in chains and breaking. I mean about western expansion right. There's now lake free. There's no chains and the chain is then upside down right because shore. Yeah 'cause gravity would not allow a chain to be held up in the air like the nats true good point. Look they are not thank you. We're not the architectural geniuses. Were just trying to understand. We're gonna take a quick break for a.

"Can't even remember. Where will we go and we were going to like thirty place and the the days all blend kansas city. We were going to kansas city. So i was like okay. Well we're we're traveling girlfriend. And i air traveling with the little cat and so we were like you know. Put them in his bag and he can just like you know. We'll just go. What does go and so we get in there. And i just didn't give it a second thought because he's in a bag like i don't know he's not gonna hide louis arch. We did by we. I mean me. Because i did not think it through and we get there and were like of course like it's a national monument like i was just like it was one of those moments where like i'm generally a pretty smart person was goddamn idiot like i just like. What were you thinking. It's a national monument. it's federal their security is security. But like when. I stopped by lincoln's birthplace. It was also like a national park. Federal property like no security. There was nothing and that. That's a log cabin. This is a structure. I'd say i'd say St louis arch is more of a national monument. In the sense of like the mon- yuen's we've covered before as opposed to lead in places like all right. Yeah here's here's the outline of a cabin in the woods. Yes lincoln was born somewhere around here. Oh my god so exactly so anyways. So we're like we wait or and we see this woman. She's carrying like a tiny little yappy dog and the dog to its credit is not yapping. But it's one of those tiny happy dog. Yeah and she's like kissing in holding it like is not in a bag and we wait. Wait for security to tell her whether or not she's allowed to like take this dog up and they let her through whatever. And so we go up or trying to get through ourselves. And the guys are. There's like these three security guys emulate. You would have thought that we brought like weapons of yeah uniform. You're carrying weapons because my girlfriend took the cat out of the bag to go through security and so then the cat was like with a bucket do here and we tried to carry them through their like no man no matter you know you can't come through he. There's no cats up here anyway. So i ruined her trip to the movie with by just assuming that a cat could go up into a federal monument. The fuck was insane. I'm zane stupid. And then and then your cap booked plane ticket to new york. Oh yeah made. Its way onto yankee field. And he would here. I'm outta here. I didn't want to go to the arch anywhere. I'm going to a baseball game yet. Silly love it. Cats are the theme today cats the today and but also just like selfishly. Like i wanna talk about the gateway art because it was super cool. Have you ever been short. no. I'm dan lewis hours so cool and honestly like a super cool steady highly. Recommend if you're gonna do like a dare to trip. But i was like i wanna talk about the arch because it was even just like seeing outside of it was super cool. Yeah yeah so. This is my selfish episode to talk about al. My turn you deserve it. You're you're in a bunker right now. Agreeing episodes happen. My disembodied vase is just. I love it. I love lizzie has to look at. Should i do this. sharon sources. Absolutely tell.

"Welcome back to. Let's get civic i'm lizzy stewart and i'm are unwilling to hausky and do you want to tell them what you're doing right now. I eight is approximately. What the health time is it. It is six forty seven my time here in hot springs. Arkansas am we should say. I am in hot springs. Arkansas and i am currently under a blanket chess is i am trying to record in the most echoey house. I have ever been in it super cute. It's lake covered in ship lap. The most echoey of the of the of the wooded material yes the most echoey of the laps for sure and i My only recourse was to record a gigantic blanket which we have been using for picnics. And thank god is like gigantic. Because otherwise i don't know what i would do an attack crawl under my legs. Excellent so if you hear meowing here any sort of feline noises you look like you're in the the blair witch project i know. I mostly just a disembodied head because it's a dark blanket. And so the only thing lizzy can see is my head. You're shroud roof. Hsieh shroud of turin like reflection from my computer screen. And look you guys. We go above and beyond to make these episodes happen so you have to bear with us but speaking of cats i have a. Oh my god best lead or what you did you gave me such a great lead-in because not last night. The most extraordinary thing happened to me. And not just to me but to too many people. Because i was at a yankees game yesterday a home yankees game and it was just like it was what i say. It was a boring game. I mean it was a boring game. It was like the yankees were playing. Really bad other team was like fine and they were like yeah so not much not much action and then in i think it was like at the the bottom of the seventh-inning i'm i'm just kind of like chilling like watching the game and then my boyfriend goes. There's a cat on the field on the field and he starts freaking out and sure enough like right outside. The dugout of the other team is a full hat and and it was just sitting there. And i just remember being like where did he come from. Get there 'cause you know at baseball games. There is somebody at every entrance. It's not easy to to get anywhere without having to like go by somebody who's like who are you in. Is this your section and sure enough. This cat divide all all laws and just like appeared on the field in front of the dugout and at first curse the players. Were kind of like okay. Maybe we'll keep hugh keelan. Do we hold for cats. Do hold for cat. Nobody at new and then the cat made a beeline for like center. Field and adm freaks out. The players are like we clearly cannot continue with this cat fully. I mean and it was sprinting. To be fair the cow is probably like absolutely terrified because they was like look bolting across the field. It did this for like maybe a minute and it would like it. Like ran to the back of the field like jumped up on the ledge of the back in the field and sat there for like fifteen seconds. And i'm the whole time. I'm just like nobody's doing anything. The players are just standing standing there looking at this cat and then finally they send out the poor grounds crew wrangle. This cat. there's like eight of them and immediately. I'm like they're not gonna catch this cat. This cat is way too. Quick scott is doing ensuring of. It's like another three or four minutes linked to ground screw kind of like closing in on the cat and the cat bolting and then the stadium erupting because we won the cats and not get caught. We right we want this to. If this was the whole rest of the game i would have had. Its third clearly the most exciting thing that you guys had seen that day literally in this year it was like when i say i lost my absolute mind. I i lost my absolute mind because it was just so surreal that it was happening and that it took them so long to like rangel. The cat that. I've oh my god. I look at national television. Because i'm pat you there. Replaying that moment and is was there do does your Does your instagram feed. Also include like you screaming at about and down gone on for for that. I cannot wait to get off the zoom with you and go watch that. Oh my god. It's like ten times better than the bear video. No oh my god yeah. It's bear you see animals. The way reacting seeing animals in well the beer was in its natural habitat but lake be fair. Yeah the cat on the field. I was like wait. Because i mean you think birds brought up the thing you see. It's an open it's an open. Adm don't think a full grown cat is now just saunter onto the feel. I looked it. Where i just wanna know how god there i two is. Somebody's telling you. Now i bet it's farrell stadia. There's feral cats you know it's just everywhere omega. That's crazy yovany. I love that story than i can connect it. I can follow through line of cat to connect us to our topic for today. Heck cab bring us there. So as i said i am on a month long road trip and a last week. We were in saint louis and so we were. We decided to go. There's like right now because of cova head like unless you get tickets like a week in advance you if you're trying to get them to go up in the art for like the next day or two it's you. They're not available bite. You can go see like this. Apparently really great documentary film about the gateway arch. That's like a half hour. So i bought tickets which spoiler alert. Today's episode is about the saint. Louis art So i got tickets for the movie. And i don't know what i thought like. I don't know if i thought like it was just gonna be like when you walk into the base of the of the arch early. I don't know what i thought but like we were leaving that day right after the film to go to I.
