"Christine Elizabeth, the holy spirit is the consuming fire of God's love to offer oneself to the Lord one needs to allow one's whole existence to be set on fire by this Divine love. This means a total offering of oneself analogous to the offering of Holocaust prescribed in the Mosaic law. Before Christ such an offering would be completely consumed at the sacred fire before the altar of sacrifice. It was a sign of what God deserves from us. And with that acknowledgement. The people's worship was deemed acceptable to the Lord. Christ offering of himself on the cross was the perfect fulfillment of this practice. Only it was not Earthly Flames that consumed his self offering instead. He burned with a gift of the Father's Love and through this obedient love opened up a pathway for us to render the Holy Trinity a hymn of praise. So beautiful. God is utterly delighted by it. Why should God be delighted by what we offer him it is because the Holy Spirit renews The Mystery of the word made flesh in us through our faith in Christ. The word is a father the radiant one not only captivates the hearts of those who seek him but he is also the greatest Delight of the father. The father Delights in his son because his son communicates the truth about his love and this is the Father's Glory. Born of the silent fullness of the Father's Heart The Glory that the word reveals makes all things new. When the father spoke his word into our Humanity, he renewed Humanity so that Christ Humanity became the instrument to reveal the glory of God. The holy spirit renews this whole mystery in us when we allow ourselves to be overwhelmed by his coming into our hearts. When we accept what Christ has done for us out of love for the father love with which Christ burned Burns in US. This fire purifies us of our attachments to send and at the same time implicates Us in the plight of Those whom God has sent into our lives. In this way, we discover new Liberty to give ourselves in love of God and our neighbor that we did not have before it is the freedom of Christ was crucified by love. Through this gift of the Holy Spirit the father even recognizes the beauty of Christ in us a beauty that the lights him and the beauty that saves the world. St. Elizabeth understands that in a certain sense being overwhelmed by the fire of the Holy Spirit extends The Mystery of the Incarnation through our Humanity moved into the circumstances relationships and events of Our Lives. The more we surrender our Humanity to the love of Christ and die to our plans. The more vulnerable we are to this movement of Love at work in US. The mission that seen Elizabeth exercises from Heaven is geared to The Total Transformation of Our Lives that the Holy Spirit accomplishes when we make ourselves off to his holy simple and holy loving movement in US. For this kind of openness. Let us prey. Oh my God Trinity.

"Well, you would not believe the number of patients that I see that are looking to this is kind of a beacon there. They want to be part of this they feel part of life. So, you know when I speak about this, I always talk about all the cancer Fighters everyone in this building is so pumped to be able to deliver this to the people who need it and and you know, I think about myself as a cancer survivor the stress of the diagnosis the stress of that first couple of weeks uncertainty and the discomfort emotionally that comes with that. I know now that we can walk a patient downstairs after a tough talk and immediately walk into a cancer Family Care office for a private counselor who can help give the patient tools to do with that. And so when I look at the people who are going to enter the system and to the center for first time probably just going to hang out in the lobby for first week so I can watch people walk into that Atrium and see what we've now got in our community for all of us that need this kind of care. And you know, obviously we want fewer people to get that cancer diagnosis and to have as few people as possible in this brand-new cancer center. But but Kerry from the community's perspective and the The Business Leaders that you speak with when you know looking at this and knowing what a difference a Cancer Center like this is going to make what is their reaction when they hear about this again this world-class send-off opening. Well, what what Doug and I've been doing, you know through covet since oh probably the last four or five months is every Wednesday. We've been allowed to take a few people through to tour package and as it's as it's come together, you know, it's just been amazing to see it. Aesthetically. It's beautiful it truly it is beautiful. But what is going to happen? I mean, it's just it's it's obvious, you know the efficiency of care and the way it was all put together. It's just I mean, it's really it's just it's so it's it's it's a warm bath Writing space and it just just it's there's so much care in every detail. So that's been really exciting to show our major donors. But what's what's not going to be even more exciting is you know, now that their patients coming through the doors is to show that impact, you know, they've made that initial investment that you know took a bit but Doug and I just shared us as part of a vision but now the exciting part for us is this vision becoming a reality and to be able to share that impact with them and you know, the patient testimonials. I know Christy Nelson. I don't know if you know Christy but she is she's the co-chair of the cancer center campaign and she was one of the one people that we came we toured through and thought she was emotional. I mean to see it all put together and just to know that this level of care was now available in her own Community if it truly made her emotional so it obvious off. We're thrilled that it's here in Northern Kentucky. But doctor Florida, they're Kentucky in general with cancer rates. It is at a point that among the nation's worst..

"How can this center help in that regard and help, you know, improve the health of our community. I guess that's where I get most enthusiastic is that I don't view the opening the center's the end of a of a vision. This is the infrastructure we needed to build the type of programs that can change the trajectory for patience. Just the entire region. So for instance at st. Elizabeth now, we're approaching our 13,000 lung cancer screening CT scan. It's a very inexpensive very quick test that we embraced early and were among the top three or four years in the country at this now and we're identifying a new cancer every 54 stands. Most of those are stage one. And so those families now have their tumors respected and they go back to the kitchen table. We've also wage on the first floor of the center of formal Center for precision medicine in genomic Health with six genetic counselors Doctor Who does full-time care of the worried well and people who have genetic risk factors for cancers to make sure that they're screened appropriately and they're afforded all of the potential risk reduction strategies that would reduce their risk of later complications of cancer because we built that in and I think that's different than most cancer centers that are wrong. About treatment. We have all the Cutting Edge treatment. We have all the clinical trials, but we're trying to detect these cancers in their faintest early footsteps, so that those patients never need to see me for chemotherapy or one of my partners off radiation because the surgeon was able to cure or we were able to do something preventive to to make sure they didn't need the cancer center in the first place. So catching it early and preventing it in the future, but to bookends it's amazing and I am proud to be partnering with Saint Elizabeth during all of this week as the cancer center open. So watch for Facebook lives all week long as we show you different parts of of this Cancer Center, so I'm thrilled to be a part as a cancer survivor as well and Doctor, Florida and carry. Thank you guys so much for explaining today. We can't wait to see it. Going to be a fun week. It's all right. Thanks guys and stay with us. We'll be right back.

"On just in gym that is happening right now at st. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood. We're joined right now by dr. Doug Flora who is the executive medical director of oncology at st. Elizabeth and Kerri Chandler the vice president of the same Elizabeth foundation and guys. Thank you so much for being here today. Thank you are pleasure. Let's start doctor Florida the cancer center that we've seen being constructed over Lo these many years is now finally open. Tell us off. What is you know, what's there? What's new? What's different? I don't know if you guys have heard about this thing and it's kind of a big deal. Now. We're excited. It's it's been a product of you know, thousands of man hours of planning probably dozens of thousand hours of building to finally have this home for our patients open up and it's pretty exciting to watch everything that we discussed in meetings come into fruition. So I'm pretty comfortable saying that this is going to be a home for our whole community and offer patients that seamless access to care that they all deserve and carry this didn't happen overnight as dr. Flores said this took a loss of fundraising and a lot of help and support from the community and that's where the symbol is foundation came in. Absolutely. So we've been fundraising for about 3 and 1/2 years now actively fundraising probably for the last two and the community generosity has just been incredible people coming out, you know wanting to see this Center in their backyard wanting extraordinary care for cancer and oncology so long, it's it's really been heartwarming and and it's not surprising because the people of this community are they care so much. Dr. Ford, this is not just a place to be treated for sick people. This is much more than that. So tell us about some of the bells and whistles programs that we haven't seen in this life. Yeah. Yeah. Well, you know for us cancers a team sport and we recognize you can't just take care of the tumor you need to take care of the whole person. And so we spend a lot of time and energy and effort building those things that I think are fundamentally Cancer Care, they might be considered bells and whistles because they're they're softer, but you enter our ground floor and you'll see a demonstration teaching kitchen to teach people how to eat healthily with or or a commitment for cancer. You'll see art therapy and music therapy..

Thank you once again for joining me Josh it's wonderful to be with you Chris and really what an opportunity to talk about some very beautiful things that Saint Theresa Vava is sharing with us kind of fascinating time in the history of the church. Yeah it really is once again to center ourselves about we're. Is Writing. All of this. The year is is in the fifteen hundreds. It is a time in Europe where there has been tumultuous changes. The church seems to have splintered in half or more different pieces. And there's wars going on there's illnesses going on there's all kinds of situations happening isn't there? Yes. You have on one hand one of the most oppressive outreaches for the Gospel of Christ in the history of mankind we the Kingdom of Spain and Portugal will basically evangelize the America's during this timeframe win the fifteen sixties and seventies to you kind of give you a the timeframe in which. He's writing and when these ideas are developing our lady of Guadalupe appeared in America and it's been a sign of hope by this time in the sixteenth century, the descriptions historical descriptions are that there are tens of thousands of baptisms every day so many baptisms, the missionaries can't keep up with them all throughout Mexico and beyond our lady. Guadalupe. Had that effect at the same time this? is also the time of the Council of Trent and so the efforts at reform and and conversation about spiritual renewal have taken place in really bitter and difficult fights have happened among different churchmen and among different religious communities. This is the time of the inquisition in Spain a where the inquisition was trying to protect people against abberant forms spirituality and also against the rise of an. Expression of faith that was hostile or mistrusting in suspicious of the church. So this is going on in the it had all kinds of bad doctrine in it in the inquisition tried to dampen that down and was meeting more or less success, and they're looking at people like Theresa, Vava, who seemed to be talking about an experience of the faith that sounds like what the reformers you're talking about. But also stems Catholic and so they're trying to discern is tree Savoia a good guy or bad guys. Going to support build up the church was she carrying it apart because the division that protestantism has caused northern Europe in the wars that have gone out that they don't want that happen in Spain. and. Then at the same time, the Kingdom of of Spain has been involved in military campaigns of that are huge for Christendom. Islam has risen up is threatening the West and the Kingdom of Spain is a kind of the leader and trying to put a chat to their naval advancements in the Mediterranean, and then at the same time the that's going on Protestant revolt in the northern part of Europe. These aren't just you know people saying. That they're very violent and they involve a disruption to the whole social order and the key. Again, the Kingdom of Spain is trying to. Provide social order established peace in a northern Europe. This is also the time we have England and the Spanish Armada and and that military disaster all those things are things that are going on while Theresa Abbas writing, doing her spiritual writings and this particular work that we're we're looking at right now her early writings, the writings she did soon after her conversion were put on the. Index by the INQUISITORS ESA, she's been asked to write yet another book to encourage a those who are in her reform movement to encourage them in mental prayer. This is kind of the fruit of a lifetime of prayer in wisdom gained, and at the same time she's proposing it.
